Summary
Simon Andrews dies after serious accident at the North West 200 – The weekend’s sporting events take a back seat.

Munich, 21st May 2014. The North West 200 road race in Northern Ireland was overshadowed by a fatal accident. Simon Andrews (GB) of the Penz13.com BMW Racing Team was involved in a serious accident in Saturday’s Superstock race. He passed away in a Belfast hospital on Monday, as a result of the injuries sustained. BMW Motorrad Motorsport’s thoughts are with Andrews’ family, friends and team, and we would like to express our most sincere condolences. The sporting action at the North West 200 and the weekend’s other racing events pale into insignificance for BMW Motorrad Motorsport after this tragic news.
