Dingolfing. When engineering excellence meets
world-class sound, a truly unique combination is created: based on the
exclusive BMW XM Label, apprentices at the BMW Group plant in
Dingolfing have developed a vehicle that blurs the boundaries between
a high-performance automobile and a professional DJ stage.

The BMW XM Label becomes a mobile stage.

The BMW XM Soundmachine is a fully functional and mobile event
location. It is based on the BMW XM Label, the most powerful model in
the portfolio, built at the Spartanburg plant in the United States.
Its M HYBRID system delivers a total system output of 550 kW (748 hp).

To transform the BMW XM into a rolling DJ stage, the roof area has
been extensively modified to provide artists and their equipment with
sufficient space for an impressive performance. A 6 m² double-sided
LED screen behind the DJ booth delivers visual impact. Four fog
machines integrated into the wheel arches, a dedicated underbody
lighting system, as well as fixed and moving stage lights further
showcase the vehicle.

The sound system from dBTechnologies (VIO C12 active speakers and VIO
S118R subwoofers) is complemented by a professional Pioneer DJ setup
(DJM V10 mixer and CDJ 3000X players). Thanks to the vehicle’s hybrid
technology, sound, screen and lighting can be operated autonomously
for up to one hour – without any external power supply. Despite the
extensive modifications, the vehicle remains mobile and can still
drive at speeds of up to 15 km/h.

From vision to reality.

The transformation of the production vehicle into the BMW XM
Soundmachine was entirely designed and implemented by apprentices at
the Dingolfing plant. A five-member cross-functional core team –
including automotive mechatronics specialists, painters, bodywork
technicians, machining specialists and electronics engineers – worked
on the project.

Starting in July 2025 without a finalized construction plan, the team
developed the concept iteratively. According to project notes, the
planning phase alone required “at least 14 sleepless nights” to
engineer the supporting structure. Daniel Haider, Head of Vocational
Training for Automotive Technology and Individual Professions at the
Dingolfing plant, explains: “Projects like this enable our apprentices
to gain valuable experience in interdisciplinary, project-based
collaboration. The development of the BMW XM Label Soundmachine was
not only an exciting change from everyday training routines, but also
highly beneficial for building essential skills.”

The result is a technically sophisticated vehicle concept that
ensures both stability and flexibility. The superstructure weighs
approximately 1,400 kg, with a total vehicle weight of around 2,800
kg. Key features include:

Stability and load-bearing capacity: The most
structurally stable points of the vehicle remained uncertain until
late in the process, but ultimately a robust support structure was
achieved, tailored to the specific load requirements. Particularly
noteworthy is the standing platform, constructed from Bosch profiles
integrated into the body. The welded support structure provides
additional rigidity.

Construction and reinforcement: Numerous custom
crossmembers are installed on the vehicle. While they may appear to
extend outward at first glance, they are fully integrated into the
overall structure. These custom-designed components significantly
enhance structural stability. Comprehensive reinforcement measures
were also implemented to maximize overall integrity.

Custom adaptations: Each lighting element and speaker
is mounted using specially designed brackets to ensure precise and
secure installation. Fog machines and other components were also
custom-developed, including their dedicated mounting structures.

Interior and layout: A standing platform has been
integrated into the vehicle, complemented by a double floor inside,
creating additional space and stability. This allows for efficient
integration of technical components. The LED wall is double-sided and
suspended from the support structure, enabling use on both upper and
lower levels.

Mobility and flexibility: Despite extensive
modifications, the vehicle remains driveable, with a TÜV-approved top
speed of up to 15 km/h, ensuring continued mobility.

Power supply: A particularly notable feature is that
the vehicle does not require a permanent external power source. It can
independently supply sound and visuals for up to one hour, further
enhancing its flexibility and mobility.

„The BMW XM Label, with its presence and power, truly belongs on
stage”, says Steffi Armbruster, Head of Brand Experience
& Cooperations. „Our apprentices have done pioneering work in
developing the BMWXM Soundmachine, taking full responsibility from the
initial sketch to the finished stage car. It is the perfect fusion of
high performance and high fidelity.“

Under the guiding concept of “GEN M”, music serves as a universal
language to bring communities together across boundaries. DJ legend
and brand ambassador Carl Cox – himself an BMW XM owner – closely
accompanied the project and officially approved the system in April 2026.

Following its premiere at the Electric Mountain Festival in Sölden,
the BMW XM Soundmachine will be showcased at several major automotive
events in Europe in 2026:

15 May 2026: 24 Hours of Nürburgring

13 June 2026: 24 Hours of Le Mans

19 September 2026: MotoGP in Spielberg

Munich. Three become two: the BMW XM portfolio is
sharpening its focus, now offering just two models. The BMW XM Label
range-topper (WLTP combined (EnVKV): energy consumption 33.7 kWh/100
km and 2.3 l/100 km; fuel consumption with discharged battery: 12.8
l/100 km; CO2 emissions: 53 g/km; CO2 class with
discharged battery/combined: G/B; maximum electric range 76 km)* is
now the only model to come with an electrified V8 engine. The BMW XM
50e (WLTP combined (EnVKV): energy consumption 32.0 kWh/100 km and
1.6 l/100 km; fuel consumption with discharged battery: 11.3 l/100 km;
CO2 emissions: 37 g/km; CO2 class with
discharged battery/combined: G/B; maximum electric range 80–86 km)*,
featuring an electrified six-cylinder engine, remains available unchanged.

The BMW XM Label combines stupendous power and an advanced drive
concept. Its M HYBRID system consists of a V8 with a peak output of
430 kW/585 hp and an electric motor integrated into the eight-speed M
Steptronic transmission delivering up to 145 kW/197 hp. With a system
output of 550 kW/748 hp and a combined torque of 1,000 Nm, the BMW XM
Label is the most powerful BMW M production model ever. It takes just
3.8 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h and has an electronically
limited top speed of 250 km/h. The optional M Driver’s Package
increases this limit to 290 km/h. With its exhilarating performance
and uncompromisingly extravagant design, the BMW XM Label enjoys
maximum exclusivity in the luxury segment.

The most powerful BMW of all time sets new standards with its
extrovert design while demonstrating why BMW M stands for “The
Ultimate Driving Machine”. This is a view shared by world-famous
British musician, techno and house DJ Carl Cox. In a joint project
with BMW M, he has woven the sounds of the BMW XM – such as the
powerful bass of the V8, the Welcome chime and the pop of the bonnet
closing – into an aural celebration (Link).
The result underscores Carl Cox’s passion for BMW M automobiles and is
just as unique, extrovert and confident as the BMW XM itself.

New equipment options, increased charging rate.

The BMW XM Label now offers additional options for customising the
exterior and interior. Newly available, for example, is the optional
BMW Individual Frozen Tanzanite Blue metallic exterior colour, which
highlights the model’s unique character. The BMW M kidney grille
complete with accent line can be ordered in high-gloss Black. A new
Welcome Light Animation makes the BMW XM Label look particularly
impressive after dark. Standard equipment for the BMW XM Label in
Europe now includes 22-inch light alloy wheels Double-spoke style 922
M Bicolour with mixed-size tyres. They replace the previous 21-inch
wheels. A new option comes in the shape of the 23-inch M light alloy
wheels style 1096 M in Black.

BMW Individual Night Blue Merino Leather with exclusive elements is
available as a new option, for a particularly extravagant interior
ambience. Other new colour combinations for the interior of the BMW XM
Label include BMW Individual Black Merino leather with exclusive
elements and Vintage Coffee Brown interior surfaces as well as BMW
Individual Silverstone Merino leather with Black interior surfaces.
The high-quality comfort cushions matching the colour of the seat
surfaces now come as standard for all BMW Individual leather merino
upholstery. The charging rate of the BMW XM Label increases as well:
the M HYBRID system’s Combined Charging Unit now enables AC charging
at up to 11 kW.

The upgraded BMW XM Label will be unveiled on 14 June 2025 at the 24
Hours of Le Mans. BMW M Motorsport will be competing on the legendary
French circuit with the BMW M Hybrid V8 in the FIA World Endurance
Championship (FIA WEC).

In Germany, prices for the BMW XM Label start at €183,400. Prices for
the BMW XM 50e start at €133,800. Prices and extras effective for Germany.

CO2 EMISSIONS & CONSUMPTION.

The figures for fuel consumption, CO2 emissions, energy

Munich/Miami Beach. BMW and Kith are launching a new
edition of their successful collaboration. The BMW XM* and its links
to the legendary BMW M1 are the focus of the third collaboration
between the premium car manufacturer and Ronnie Fieg's world-renowned
lifestyle brand, Kith. The high-performance plug-in hybrid will be
available next year as the 2025 BMW XM by Kith, with exclusive
exterior and interior designs.
The 2025 BMW XM Kith Concept
offers a first look at the car, which will be manufactured as a
one-of-one vehicle and presented at Art Basel Miami 2024, taking place
from December 6-8 at the Miami Beach Convention Center, alongside
another unique piece, Ronnie Fieg's 1981 BMW M1 E26. A new Kith for
BMW collection of apparel and lifestyle products will also be launched.

Following the edition vehicles designed by Ronnie Fieg based on the
BMW M4 Competition Coupé* from 2020 and the BMW i4 M50 xDrive* from
2022, BMW and Kith are once again dedicating the latest chapter of
their partnership to an exceptional BMW M automobile. The BMW XM,
which is also the first original BMW M automobile since the BMW M1
produced from 1978 to 1981, features the newly developed M HYBRID
drive system for the first time. The BMW XM features striking details
inspired by the design of the legendary mid-engined sports car, such
as the side accent strips, the two BMW emblems at the rear and the
louvre structure of the rear lights.

2025 BMW XM by Kith: 47 units, historic colour, exclusive details.

The 2025 BMW XM by Kith will be produced in a limited edition of 47
units, reflecting the number of years that have passed since the debut
of the BMW M1. It will be delivered in the second half of 2025 to
enthusiasts and collectors of particularly exclusive BMW M
automobiles. The edition vehicles will be offered with BMW Individual
Frozen Techno Violet metallic paint finish, which is also based on
historical models. This paint finish, specially developed by Kith for
the 2025 BMW XM by Kith, will only ever be used for this limited
edition model and will never be used by BMW again, making this edition
truly special. Alternatively, BMW Individual Frozen Black metallic
paint finish (paint code U91) is also available for the 2025 BMW XM by Kith.

The paintwork and numerous special design features emphasise the
particularly dynamic proportions of a modern Sports Activity Vehicle
and the expressive lines that characterise the BMW XM. The 2025 BMW XM
by Kith features black side window graphics and accent strips. The
outline of the model inscriptions on the front, rear and side, as well
as the outline of the Kith logo, combined with the characteristic M
stripes on the rear of the edition vehicles, are finished in Techno
Violet metallic. The 2025 BMW XM by Kith comes as standard with
23-inch M light-alloy wheels in star-spoke design with Jet Black finish.

In the interior, the modern sports car cockpit of the BMW XM by Kith
is complemented by exclusive details in the striking aesthetics of the
Kith label. The illuminated door sills feature the special “1/47”
insignia, denoting how rare each car is. The velour floor mats and the
control centre on the centre console all feature the Kith logo with
the M stripes.
An illuminated version can also be seen under the
headrests of the M multifunction driver and passenger seats. The seat
surfaces in the BMW Individual Merino leather finish feature an
embossed Kith monogram pattern, as does the armrest of the centre
console. Another detail can be found in the control display of the
edition vehicles. A special widget includes the official BMW XM by
Kith vehicle name, the “1/47” insignia and the Kith logo with the M stripes.

The M Lounge in the rear of the 2025 BMW XM by Kith also creates a
personal atmosphere in the vehicle. Embossed Kith monogram on the seat
surfaces and two cushions with the label's logo add to the personal
touch. Together with the pre-set purple interior lighting, a special
atmosphere is created that is appropriate for the edition vehicle.

A Kith duffle bag, designed and manufactured exclusively by Kith for
the edition vehicles, is included as standard to stylishly accommodate
the included charging cables.

The 2025 BMW XM by Kith will be launched on December 6th
at 5 PM CET on http://www.bmw-m.com/XM-by-KITH.

World premiere in Miami Beach: The 2025 BMW XM Kith Concept.

BMW and Kith will present a concept car, also designed by Ronnie
Fieg. The exterior and interior of the 2025 BMW XM Kith Concept have
been created by Fieg in collaboration with BMW to express both the
distinctive character and exclusive sportiness of the high-performance
model in a particularly intense way. Free from all the conventions of
production car homologation, he designed a sophisticated lighting
concept, in which the colour purple plays a central role, matching the
BMW Individual Frozen Techno Violet metallic paint finish. The 2025
BMW XM Kith Concept's side accent strips consist of black backlit
strips, each of which contains 363 full-color LED units distributed
along its entire length. When activated, these create a dynamically
animated purple glow around the Kith lettering. The decor elements on
the side panels also feature a backlit Kith logo.

LED units are also used in the headlights to create a purple colour
scheme. The Kith logo can also be displayed on the glass covers of the
main headlights using LED matrix displays for the low beam headlights.
The 2025 BMW XM Kith Concept also features an M radiator grille Iconic
Glow with purple contour lighting and a paint finish enriched with
purple colour pigments for the 23-inch light-alloy wheels.

As a nod to its motorsport lineage, and to pay homage to the M1’s
design, the 2025 BMW XM Kith Concept has been lowered by 30
millimetres at the front and 35 millimetres at the rear, while the
track on both axles has been widened by 40 millimetres. This was
accomplished thanks to the use of special springs and wheel spacers.

Inside the concept car, M Carbon bucket seats replace the M
multifunction seats of the 2025 BMW XM by Kith. They also feature
surfaces with embossed Kith monogram and illuminated Kith emblems
combined with the M stripes in the area of the headrests.

Reconstructing a legend: 1981 BMW M1 E26 by Ronnie Fieg.

To place both the concept car and the limited edition of 47 2025 BMW
XM by Kith in a historical context, another unique model will be
presented to the public for the first time in Miami Beach. The 1981
BMW M1 E26 by Ronnie Fieg is an extensively reconstructed one-of-one
example of the sports car with specific details from the design
repertoire of the Kith label.

The car, which bears the model designation, year of manufacture and
internal model series code as well as the name of the Kith founder was
according to Ronnie Fieg's ideas. A Techno Violet paint finish (paint
code 299), the combined M and Kith emblem on the tailgate and an
interior with embossed Kith lettering create new design parallels
between Ronnie Fieg's 1981 BMW M1 E26 and the 2025 BMW XM Kith
Concept, in addition to the similarities in the design of the
production vehicles. Their joint appearance in Miami Beach thus forms
a bridge between the first and the last model to be developed and
produced exclusively as a BMW M in the more than 50 years of the
company's history.

Kith for BMW: Classic BMW design motifs reinterpreted in a new
fashion and lifestyle collection.

The presentation of the vehicles designed by Ronnie Fieg in Miami
Beach will be accompanied by the launch of a new Kith for BMW apparel
and lifestyle collection. The collection includes a wide range of
products that take classic BMW design motifs and reinterpret them in
Kith's signature style. In addition to the brand emblems and model
inscriptions, the colours Techno Violet, Cinnabar Red and Vitality
Green, which are used in the current cooperation and in previous joint
projects, give the products in the collection an unmistakable look.

The apparel range includes premium jackets in Italian leather,
double-sided wool and silky suede, as well as co-branded jumpers,
hoodies, rugby shirts, trousers and a range of vintage-inspired
T-shirts. The collection also includes a range of premium lifestyle
accessories including caps and hats, key fobs and licence plates,
leather driving gloves, microfibre towels and cushions, floor mats and
carpets, as well as BMW and Kith branded card cases, mugs, trays,
umbrellas and snowboards.

A 1:18 scale model of the 2025 BMW XM by Kith is a particular
highlight of the collection. In addition to the BMW Individual Frozen
Techno Violet metallic body colour, the miniature features numerous
other details based on the edition vehicle, including model lettering
on the M radiator grille with purple trim and Kith logos on the rear
doors, door sills and seats.

The scale model of the new edition vehicle will also be produced in a
limited edition and can be ordered exclusively from the BMW
Lifestyle Shop. The complete Kith for BMW collection will be
available on December 6th at all Kith shops worldwide,
including the Kith for BMW Showcase pop-up in Miami Beach, as well as
online at 5 PM CET on www.kith.com.

CO2 EMISSIONS & CONSUMPTION.

Munich. Bavarian premium carmaker BMW has come up
with an innovative brand campaign to turn the heads of an
international audience to the brand’s current range of models in the
luxury segment. The highly exclusive BMW 7 Series, BMW 8 Series, BMW
X7 and BMW XM models are showcased as masterpieces of design and
engineering amid breathtaking landscapes. The impressive images send
out a message of exclusivity with a progressive flavour that appeals
to all the human senses in a nuanced way, reflects our intellectual
perspectives and provides us with meaningful experiences.

The new multi-channel campaign was launched on the YouTube and
Instagram social media channels. Additional content will follow with
country-specific packages of outdoor/print advertising and TV
commercials. These communications activities will begin in the USA,
followed – from September 2024 – by Germany, China, Great Britain,
Japan, South Korea, Czechia, Poland and the Middle East.

“At the heart of the new brand campaign are the uncompromising
performance, sophistication and inimitable style of our most exclusive
models,” says Bernd Körber, Senior Vice President BMW Brand Management
and Product Management. “The imagery used in the campaign invites the
viewer to experience the unbridled passion for design, craftsmanship
and innovative technology inherent in every BMW.”

The new brand campaign gets underway on the BMW YouTube channel with an emotionally engaging
clip focusing on the BMW i7. The flagship model in the all-electric
vehicle line-up stars in the 60-second film – titled “Lifelines” – as
the embodiment of an exclusive and also progressive take on the
brand’s hallmark Sheer Driving Pleasure. Accompanied by a virtuoso
music track, the car moves along an upland plain through a landscape
bathed in atmospheric light. Here, the BMW i7 is presented as a car
for individualists who approach the future with confidence and on
their own terms, and take charge of their own destiny.

The campaign imagery also features the silhouette of a BMW 8 Series
Coupé in front of the dynamically curving contours of a rocky
landscape, the BMW X7 at the foot of a high mountain range with
snow-capped peaks and the BMW XM on a stretch of beach with stormy
winds and dramatically breaking waves. These powerful images are then
joined by the company name: “Bayerische Motoren Werke” is written out
in full.

This emphasises the uniqueness of the brand, its origins and its more
than 100 years of heritage. At the same time, it also signals –
alongside exclusivity and elegance – the confidence of a company that,
over the course of its history, has repeatedly achieved enduring
success with solutions developed in-house. This approach has prompted
a genuine level of identification with its products in the luxury segment.

CO2 EMISSIONS & CONSUMPTION.

BMW i7 xDrive60: WLTP combined: energy consumption 22,3-22,2

Munich/Cannes. Glittering movie premieres, stars
gracing the red carpet and a high-performance vehicle that looks like
nothing else: this is the ##Cannes Film Festival## and yesterday it
hosted the world premiere of the ##BMW XM Mystique Allure##. This
one-off creation is based on the first high-performance sports car
from ##BMW M GmbH## powered by the ##M HYBRID## drive system. Blending
progressive luxury with extravagant looks, it is inspired by British
supermodel ##Naomi Campbell##, was designed using exclusive materials
from the world of haute couture and has a unique soundtrack devised in
cooperation with film score composer Hans Zimmer.

The BMW XM Mystique Allure is the latest product of the collaboration
between BMW and Naomi Campbell. The partnership took its first steps
last year with the “Dare to be You” launch campaign for the ##BMW
XM##, which puts the confidence to be yourself and go your own way at
centre stage.

The BMW XM Mystique Allure and Naomi Campbell: making a grand
entrance at Cannes.

The 77th Cannes Film Festival was the ideal choice of setting for the
world premiere of the BMW XM Mystique Allure. Against the stunning
backdrop of the French portside resort, Naomi Campbell presented the
one-of-a-kind creation inspired by her to an audience of selected
guests, before making her way in the car to the red
carpet outside the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès.
“Witnessing BMW's vision for the BMW XM Mystique Allure come to life
has been truly incredible,” says Naomi. “I feel deeply honoured to
have sparked the inspiration for their first-ever high-fashion show
car, which stands as a unique masterpiece in every aspect.”

This is the third year in succession that BMW has stepped up as
Official Automotive Partner of the Cannes Film Festival. And it will
lay on an exclusive shuttle service of more than 200 vehicles – among
them the all-electric BMW i7, BMW iX and BMW i5, and the
plug-in-hybrid BMW XM – to give participants and guests at the event
the experience of locally emission-free premium mobility.

First BMW designed with high-fashion materials.

The BMW XM Mystique Allure is the first vehicle in the brand’s
history to be designed using materials from the high fashion industry.
This unusual tie-up showcases the BMW XM in a whole new light:
expressive, avant-garde – and stylish and luxurious in equal measure.

Inspired by Naomi’s favourite colour, the vehicle’s exterior boasts a
deeply saturated ultramarine shade, accentuated by a lustrous matte
finish. A contemporary translation of high-fashion materials from
luxury textile manufacturers, the design seamlessly brings the inside
to the outside, featuring rich velvet and shimmering Frozen
metallic sequins casting hues ranging from intense violet to
deep ultramarine.

The iridescent surfaces were created with precise handcraftsmanship
and a fine eye for detail. They take their cues from the eye-catching
geometric forms of the BMW XM and bring a special visual richness to
the car’s extrovert aesthetic. The design of the BMW XM Mystique
Allure provides a meeting point for high performance and haute
couture, and paints a unique picture of progressive luxury that
continues into the interior. All of the surfaces inside the car,
including the M Lounge in the rear, are covered in purple velvet.

BMW IconicSounds Electric: exclusive driving sound from the
collaboration with Hans Zimmer.

The bold appearance of the BMW XM Mystique Allure is complemented by
an acoustic character also very much its own. At its heart is a
bespoke adaptation of the BMW IconicSounds Electric developed as part
of the collaboration between BMW Group Sound Design and film score
composer Hans Zimmer.

The driving track created for the Naomi Campbell-inspired one-off
projects the supreme confidence of the car’s exterior design onto the
soundscape of locally emission-free driving. In the M HYBRID drive
system’s all-electric operating mode, every movement of the
accelerator is accompanied by an emotionally engaging sound that
authentically represents the car’s outstanding performance and
magnetic visual allure.

The BMW XM: the most powerful series-produced model from BMW M GmbH.

The BMW XM is the first model since the legendary BMW M1 to be
conceived solely as a standalone high-performance car from BMW M GmbH.
It blends dynamic potency with innovative luxury and an enticingly
extravagant design composed of muscular proportions and powerful
contours. Two-piece split headlight units, Iconic Glow contour
lighting for the BMW kidney grille, accent bands along the sides of
the car, light-alloy wheels up to 23 inches in size and the vertically
stacked and hexagonally formed pairs of exhaust tailpipes integrated
into the rear apron ensure the exterior of the XM has an inimitable
visual presence.

The BMW XM is also breaking new ground with its M HYBRID system,
which has made the XM the first high-performance car from BMW M GmbH
to feature an electrified drive system. In BMW XM Label Red form
(electric power and petrol consumption – weighted, combined:
33.5 kWh/100 km and 2.0 l/100 km [141.2 mpg imp]; CO2
emissions – weighted, combined: 45 g/km (WLTP); fuel consumption with
discharged battery: 12.9 l/100 km [21.9 mpg imp] as per WLTP;
CO2 classes: with discharged battery G; weighted, combined
B), the plug-in hybrid model – with its maximum output of
550 kW/748 hp – is also the most powerful series-produced, road-legal
car yet produced by BMW M GmbH.

---

Official fuel consumption, CO2 emissions, electric power
consumption and electric range figures were determined based on the
prescribed measurement procedure in accordance with European
Regulation (EC) 2007/715 in the version applicable. Where a range is
shown, the WLTP figures take into account the impact of any optional

In addition, according to EU Regulation 2022/195, the NEDC values will

Munich/Cannes. BMW has signed up as Official
Automotive Partner of the Cannes Film Festival for the third year in a
row. This means visitors to the festival will once again be able to
enjoy an exclusive shuttle service featuring luxury vehicles from the
premium carmaker’s current range. BMW is also using its Cannes
spotlight for a special vehicle presentation. Following the successful
world premiere of the BMW Films production The Calm last
year, BMW will now introduce a one-off creation based on the BMW XM as
part of the creative collaboration with British supermodel Naomi Campbell.

Now in its 77th year, the prestigious Cannes Film Festival will once
again attract a plentiful cast of filmmakers, actors and cinema lovers
from all over the world to the Côte d’Azur on 14 – 25 May 2024. But
the presentation of the coveted Palme d’Or is not the only show in
town; during the festival, heads increasingly turn towards the
lifestyle chic and glamour of the Croisette and many other Cannes
hotspots. For premium brand BMW, the event therefore provides the
ideal stage on which to exhibit its latest luxury-segment models to a
discerning international audience.

To this end, organisers and guests alike will have locally
emission-free premium mobility at their disposal. The exclusive fleet
of shuttles chauffeuring the stars and VIPs over the roads around the
Palais des Festivals et des Congrès will also be available to the
festival organisers and some of its Official Partners. It includes
more than 200 vehicles, among them the all-electric BMW i7, BMW iX and
BMW i5, plus the BMW XM with plug-in hybrid drive system.

Creative collaboration with Naomi Campbell produces
one-of-a-kind result.

BMW has extended the partnership with Naomi Campbell that it launched
last year. The latest product of this creative collaboration is the
BMW XM Mystique Allure. Inspired by the supermodel, this unique take
on the XM will make a very special appearance in Cannes on 15 May.

The collaboration took its first steps last year with the “Dare to be
You” launch campaign for the BMW XM. Alongside her successful catwalk
career, Naomi Campbell has also established herself as an actor and
creative visionary, and has become one of the most influential figures
on the global fashion scene. Her commitment to increasing diversity in
the industry has made her a standard-bearer for the next generation of
up-and-coming talent in the creative and fashion worlds.

The BMW XM and Naomi Campbell: trailblazers specialising in
visual extravagance.

An enduring pioneering spirit and the ability to project poise and
confidence are attributes shared by Naomi Campbell and the BMW XM.
With its iconic design language, an interior permeated by high comfort
and the M HYBRID drive system making its debut in a series-produced
model, the BMW XM creates a whole new level of connection between
luxury and high performance.

The plug-in hybrid system’s electric motor teams up with either a
muscular six-cylinder in-line engine or punchy petrol V8, depending on

Munich/Indio. Bursting with colour, fizzing with
energy and overflowing with confidence: the exhilarating atmosphere of
the Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival in California and the
spectacular landscape and architecture of the Coachella Valley provide
the ideal setting in which to showcase the unique design of the BMW XM
to stunning effect. With its dynamic lines, expansive surfaces,
muscular proportions and sharp edges, the first electrified
high-performance model from BMW M GmbH exudes presence and confidence.
And the visually impactful design of the Sports Activity Vehicle gains
even greater intensity with the addition of exclusive BMW Individual
special paint finishes.

Colour shades including BMW Individual Sakhir Orange metallic, BMW
Individual Le Mans Blue metallic, BMW Individual Anglesey Green
metallic, BMW Individual Sepang Bronze metallic and BMW Individual Sao
Paulo Yellow solid give the extravagance of the BMW XM a very personal
note. This visually imposing spectrum of colours – all beguiling
shimmer effects and arresting deep gloss – provide a dynamic
counterpoint to the spectacular desert landscape and modern take on
mid-century architecture that give the Coachella Valley its inimitable aura.

Collaboration with co-creators produces emotionally engaging
images with a unique aesthetic.

An international and diverse team of artists, creatives and
sportspeople like Icelandic actor and former professional footballer
Rúrik Gíslason, German rapper Badmómzjay and TikTok luminary Lena
Mantler feed off the unique vibe and the easy glamour of the Valley to
inspire each other, build multimedia content for their social media
channels and frame the BMW XM in a new light. The line-up of
international stars is joined by a broader circle of key opinion
leaders from the worlds of music, art and sport – the likes of Jon
Batiste, Yusra Mardini, Nemanja Gasic, Chase Hudson, ARTLANTA, Chris
Brickley and Gashi.

2024 sees BMW and Coachella partnering up for the sixth time. Through
its cultural engagement, the Bavarian premium carmaker seeks to engage
with up-and-coming creatives at the cutting edge and influential key
opinion leaders from various spheres, while also offering a platform
for co-creators to express themselves with full authenticity. Photo
and video sessions are both on the agenda at Coachella, with locations
in the festival’s immediate surroundings and beyond sure to inspire
some amazing work.

Located to the east of Los Angeles, the Coachella Valley is known for
its scenically captivating contrast of rugged desert landscape and
green oases dotted with date palms. As well as its numerous dapper
cafés and bars, the character of the Valley is shaped most prominently
by modern villas in an expansive bungalow style. The iconic
architecture here and the proximity to unspoilt nature provide a
canvas for photos and video with an incomparable aesthetic and create
the perfect backdrop for a progressive vehicle like the BMW XM.

BMW XM: Poster boy for the successful combination of luxurious
high performance and electrification.

With its confident use of form, extremely comfortable interior and
advanced plug-in hybrid drive system, the BMW XM represents the
optimal combination of luxury, high performance and electrification.
Depending on the model variant, its M HYBRID system uses a powerful
six-cylinder in-line engine or a punchy petrol V8. Add the adaptive M
suspension Professional and M xDrive intelligent all-wheel-drive
system with M Sport differential (both standard) to the mix and the
BMW XM serves up potent dynamics and eye-catching figures for the 0 to
100 km/h (62 mph) sprint.

With its bold exterior design, the BMW XM also makes a big statement
for individual lifestyle, the high-quality BMW Individual special
paint finishes increasing the scope for personalisation further still.
All BMW Individual special paint finishes are applied in a separate
manufacturing process – with a higher proportion of the work carried
out by hand – and benefit from an ultra-precise surface treatment.
This meticulous finish ensures an impressive depth of colour and
exceptional lustre.

Munich. Additions to the line-up of drive systems and
the range of optional extras are set to further increase the appeal
and diversity of the BMW product range from spring 2024. The BMW i5
Sedan and BMW iX2 fully electric models will each be available from
March 2024 with an additional drive system variant. The drive system
offerings for the BMW X2 and BMW XM have also been expanded. The
innovative Highway Assistant will bring increased comfort levels over
longer journeys to more of the brand’s model series. And additional
exterior paint finishes will be offered for the BMW 5 Series Sedan,
BMW X2 and BMW iX2. Customers will also be able to order the business
sedan with new variants of the BMW Individual Merino leather trim.

Attractive new features will also be introduced in spring 2024 in the
area of digital services. These include easier use of the voice
assistant Siri (as part of the integration of the Apple iPhone into
cars specified with BMW Operating System 9), and the optimised display
of ratings for charging stations for fully electric and plug-in hybrid
BMW models. The steady expansion of the range of functions for the My
BMW App also continues.

BMW i5 xDrive40: third fully electric variant of the business sedan.

A third fully electric variant will be added to the new BMW 5 Series
Sedan line-up in March 2024. The new BMW i5 xDrive40 Sedan (electric
power consumption, combined: 20.0 – 17.2 kWh/100 km in the WLTP cycle)
has two highly integrated electric drive units at the front and rear
axle which together develop a system output of up to 290 kW/394 hp and
peak torque of 590 Nm (435 lb-ft). Underpinned by the resultant
electric all-wheel drive, the BMW i5 xDrive40 Sedan accelerates from 0
to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 5.4 seconds. Its top speed is limited to
215 km/h (134 mph).

The third fully electric model variant of the new business sedan
stores its energy in a high-voltage battery positioned deep in the
vehicle floor. The battery delivers 81.2 kWh of usable energy. The
car’s Combined Charging Unit enables AC charging at a rate of 11 kW as
standard and 22 kW as an option. And it also allows DC charging at
fast-charging stations at up to 205 kW. This means the range of the
BMW i5 xDrive40 Sedan can be increased by 156 kilometres (97 miles) in
the space of ten minutes. The likewise standard Plug & Charge
Multi Contract function enables automatic authentication of the car at
public charging points. The range of the new BMW i5 xDrive40 Sedan as
calculated in the WLTP cycle is 463 – 538 kilometres (288 – 334 miles).

Additional exterior paint finishes can be specified for all model
variants of the new BMW 5 Series Sedan from March 2024. The spectrum
of colours will now also include the BMW Individual Frozen Portimao
Blue metallic and BMW Individual Malachite Green metallic variants. At
the same time, the business sedan will also be offered with extremely
exclusive BMW Individual special paint finishes. BMW Individual has
come up with around 150 eye-catching shades (solid, metallic and matt)
for this product area. All BMW Individual special paint finishes stand
out with their impressive depth of colour and exceptional lustre.
Customers can unlock an overview of the variants for the new BMW 5
Series Sedan using the BMW Individual Visualizer, which can be
accessed via a link in the vehicle configurator.

Added to which, extra variants of the seat and interior surfaces for
the new BMW 5 Series Sedan are also available. If the optional comfort
seats have been specified, the BMW Individual Merino leather trim can
also be specified in the bi-colour variants Dark Violet/Atlas Grey and
Taupe Grey/Atlas Grey from March 2024.

New entry-level variant for the BMW iX2; launch of the BMW X2 xDrive20d.

BMW’s current model offensive in the area of electric mobility also
brings additional variety to the premium compact segment. A new
entry-level variant of the fully electric BMW iX2 will go on sale in
March 2024. The new BMW iX2 eDrive20 (electric power consumption,
combined: 16.9 – 15.3 kWh/100 km in the WLTP cycle) takes a
particularly economical route to delivering locally emission-free
driving pleasure in a compact Sports Activity Coupé (SAC). Powered by
a 150 kW/204 hp electric motor at the front axle, it sprints from 0 to
100 km/h (62 mph) in 8.6 seconds and posts a range of 439 –
478 kilometres (273 – 297 miles) in the WLTP cycle. Its top speed is
limited to 170 km/h (106 mph).

The high-voltage battery in the new BMW iX2 eDrive20 serves up
64.78 kWh of usable energy and can be charged from AC sources at 11 kW
as standard and up to 22 kW as an option. DC charging is possible at
up to 130 kW. Thanks to extremely efficient charging software and
predictive heat management capability, brief stops are enough to
significantly increase the battery charge. In ten minutes hooked up to
a fast-charging station, the BMW iX2 eDrive20 can take on sufficient
energy to boost its range by 120 kilometres (75 miles). The
BMW iX2 eDrive20 is also equipped for using the Plug & Charge
Multi Contract function as standard.

Lining up alongside the new entry-level variant of the BMW iX2 is the
new BMW X2 xDrive20d (fuel consumption, combined: 5.2 – 4.8 litres/100
km [54.3 – 58.9 mpg imp]; CO2 emissions, combined:
136 – 125 g/km in the WLTP cycle). The second diesel variant of the
compact SAC is distinguished by even more rapid power delivery and
even greater efficiency courtesy of 48V mild hybrid technology. Its
2.0-litre four-cylinder engine links up with an electric motor
integrated into the seven-speed Steptronic transmission with double
clutch. The motor serves as a crankshaft-driven starter generator and
can both ease the load on the diesel engine and act in unison with it.
The drive system develops maximum output of 120 kW/163 hp (developed
by the combination of the combustion engine with up to 110 kW/150 hp
and the electric motor with up to 14 kW/19 hp) and peak torque of
400 Nm / 295 lb-ft (developed by the combination of the combustion
engine with up to 360 Nm / 265 lb-ft and the electric motor with up to
55 Nm / 41 lb-ft), all of which is channelled to the road via the
intelligent all-wheel-drive system BMW xDrive. This allows the
BMW X2 xDrive20d to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in
8.6 seconds. Top speed is 207 km/h (129 mph).

From March 2024, all model variants of the new BMW X2 and new BMW iX2
will also be available with an expanded range of exterior paint
finishes. Frozen Black metallic is a new addition to the selection.

BMW XM 50e: high performance with maximum efficiency.

As the latest offshoot of the first ever electrified high-performance
model from BMW M GmbH, the new BMW XM 50e (fuel consumption, combined:
1.7 – 1.3 litres/100 km [166.2 – 217.3 mpg imp]; electric power
consumption, combined: 32.2 – 31.5 kWh/100 km; CO2
emissions, combined: 37 – 30 g/km in the WLTP cycle) blends signature
M dynamism, extrovert design and progressive interior luxury with
maximum efficiency. Its M HYBRID drive system is composed of a
six-cylinder in-line petrol engine and an electric motor integrated,
together with its power electronics, into the eight-speed Steptronic
Sport transmission. This combination produces system output of 350
kW/476 hp (developed by the combination of the combustion engine with
up to 230 kW/313 hp and the electric motor with up to 145 kW/197 hp)
and maximum system torque of 700 Nm / 516 lb-ft (developed by the
combination of the combustion engine with up to 450 Nm / 332 lb-ft and
the electric motor with up to 280 Nm / 206 lb-ft).

The latest version of the 3.0-litre combustion engine fitted in the
BMW XM 50e owes its enhanced performance characteristics among other
things to the Miller combustion cycle, dual injection, an exhaust
manifold integrated into the cylinder head and VANOS variable camshaft
timing, which now works electrically. The electric motor has a
pre-gearing stage patented by BMW, which allows the effective torque
at the transmission input for the motor to be increased to 450 Nm (332
lb-ft). The top speed of the high-performance model – which is also
equipped with the all-wheel-drive system M xDrive – is an
electronically limited 250 km/h (155 mph). Thanks to an electric range
of 77 – 83 kilometres (48 – 52 miles) in the WLTP cycle, the BMW XM
50e can cover much of its everyday mileage – e.g. in urban centres –
with zero local emissions. And it can also be driven on electric power
alone beyond the city limits at speeds of up to 140 km/h (87 mph).

The most efficient version of the new M HYBRID system comes together
with the extraordinary presence of the unmistakable high-performance
model in the Sports Activity Vehicle segment. The model-specific
design features of the new variant include the black accent band along
the sides of the car, plus a surround for the BMW kidney grille and
trim detailing for the rear diffuser (both in Pearl-effect Chrome),
exhaust tailpipe trim in Black high-gloss and silver-coloured
bordering for the model badge. Customers wishing to bring an extra
personal touch to the interior of their new BMW XM 50e – which also
offers a unique combination of modern sports car flair and extravagant
luxury with its M-specific cockpit, M multifunction seats, sculptural
headliner and M Lounge in the rear compartment – can specify features
including exclusive Vintage leather for the upper section of the
instrument panel and door trim panels.

Highway Assistant: innovative Level 2 functionality for more models.

Relaxed travel over long distances and an impressive experience of
semi-automated driving are the specialities of the Highway Assistant,
which made its debut in the new BMW 5 Series Sedan and is now also
available for other current BMW models.

As an additional function of the Steering and Lane Control Assistant
included in the optional Driving Assistant Professional, the Highway
Assistant takes over the vehicle’s speed control, distance control and
steering on motorways with structurally separated carriageways when
travelling at up to 135 km/h (84 mph). The driver can take their hands
off the steering wheel and put them in a comfortable position,
provided they continue to pay attention to what is happening on the
road and are able to take over the steering again at any time. This
Level 2 – as determined by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) –
semi-automated driving function will also be available for the BMW 7
Series luxury sedan, BMW iX, BMW XM, BMW X5, BMW X6 and BMW X7 from
spring 2024.

The Active Lane Change Assistant with eye confirmation included as
part of the new Highway Assistant adds another layer to the
semi-automated driving experience. As soon as the traffic situation
permits, it is capable of performing the necessary steering movements
for an overtaking manoeuvre, for example, and adjusting the vehicle’s
speed as required. Plus, for the first time, the driver is able to
initiate a lane change suggested by this system by simply looking in
the exterior mirror to confirm it.

New digital services, My BMW App with additional functions.

Among the digital services available for the first time from spring
2024 is the extended smartphone integration for vehicles equipped with
BMW Operating System 9. This enables the Siri voice assistant for the
Apple iPhone to be activated directly by voice command and without
needing to also press the push-to-talk button. Elsewhere, the
cloud-based navigation system BMW Maps now boasts improved display of
information on charging stations. The available images and ratings are
shown both in the list of search results and in the detailed display.
The charging station ratings will now be shown clearly on a scale of
zero to five stars.

Added to which, in numerous European countries the BMW iDrive display
and control/operation system in many current models also enables
digital payment of parking fees and – in Germany – also fuel top-ups
from inside the car. As with payment of parking fees, this uses the
credit card information pre-stored in the vehicle apps.

As a universal digital interface for data exchange between the
customer and their car, the My BMW App offers an ever-expanding number
of functions. From spring 2024, Comfort Access with the BMW Digital
Key Plus will be integrated into the My BMW App in vehicles equipped
with BMW Operating System 8, 8.5 or 9. In addition, the map view for
selecting navigation destinations imported into the vehicle has been
newly designed. This also improves the search function and the
visibility of the most relevant content. Map and routing functions
will in future be proposed based on current vehicle or user contexts.

Finally, the new E-mobility Analysis function will also be added to
the My Trips menu item in the My BMW App. Based on the customer’s
driving behaviour, this function proposes the BMW model with
all-electric drive system most suited to them. These recommendations
are intended to help spark interest among users of combustion-engined
vehicles in switching to an electric vehicle.

At the finale of the 2023 MotoGP™ season in the Spanish
city of Valencia, the focus was on the BMW XM Label Red (combined fuel
consumption: 2.0 – 1.6 l/ 100 km; combined electricity consumption:
33.5 – 32.5 kWh/100 km; combined CO₂ emissions: 45 – 35 g/km in the
WLTP cycle; figures for the NEDC cycle: – ) twice on Saturday. First,
the top-of-the-range variant of the first BMW M high-performance car
with an electric drive system was presented to the winner of the 2023
BMW M Award, Francesco Bagnaia. BMW M GmbH then unveiled the new BMW
XM Label Red Safety Car for the 2024 MotoGP™ season.

BMW M Award: The most powerful BMW M car for the fastest qualifier.

In its 25th year as “Official Car of MotoGP™”, BMW M GmbH once again
provided an extraordinary highlight as the prize car for the BMW M
Award, the BMW XM Label Red. It is the embodiment of extrovert
lifestyle and a passion for absolute top performance. The BMW XM Label
Red combines a performance-enhanced M HYBRID system, making it the
most powerful BMW M automobile ever produced, with individual design
accents. In keeping with tradition, the prize car was presented after
the final qualifying of the season by Carmelo Ezpeleta, CEO of MotoGP™
rights holder Dorna Sports, and Franciscus van Meel, CEO of BMW M
GmbH. This year, the BMW M Award was presented to the fastest
qualifier in MotoGP™ for the 21st time, and the name of this season’s
recipient went down in the exclusive winners list for the second time
in a row.

Like last year, the winner of the 2023 BMW M Award is Francesco
“Pecco” Bagnaia. The Ducati rider has been particularly impressive in
qualifying this season. Bagnaia consistently claimed top results in
qualifying and had already wrapped up his second victory in the BMW M
Award by the Thailand Grand Prix, with three events remaining. Over
the course of the season, Bagnaia secured seven pole positions and
started from the front row of the grid a further eight times. In
total, he amassed 369 points in the BMW M Award, 93 more than his
closest rival Jorge Martín.

“Congratulations to Pecco Bagnaia! His speed in qualifying was
particularly impressive this season,” said van Meel, CEO of BMW M, at
the presentation. “The fact that he had won the BMW M Award before
the end of the season this year speaks for itself. Respect! We are
delighted to be able to honour this top rider with our top model, and
are sure he is going to have a lot of fun with the BMW XM Label Red.
His second win in a row means Pecco now joins a list of big names who
have also won the BMW M Award on multiple occasions. This includes
MotoGP legend Valentino Rossi who was awarded a BMW M winner’s car on
three occasions and is very successful today on four wheels, as BMW M
works driver in BMW M GT3 race cars.”

“Welcome back to the BMW M Award presentation ceremony, and
congratulations on your second win in a row, Pecco Bagnaia,” said
Dorna Sports CEO Ezpeleta. “Pecco was regularly to be found at the top
of the timings in qualifying this season and has thus more than earned
this award. We would like to thank our close partner BMW M. With this
coveted award, they have recognised the performances of our riders in
qualifying for the 21st time. The BMW XM Red Label seamlessly
continues the sequence of captivating prize cars, and I hope Pecco
really enjoys his new high-performance car.”

“Winning the BMW M Award for the first time last year was fantastic.
Back then, I immediately set myself the goal of repeating the feat
this season,” said Bagnaia. “As such, I am thrilled to have actually
done it. Although it may look as though it was a stroll in the park
this year, it was not. Every qualifying was extremely hard-fought. For
this reason, I am proud to have come out on top again. I would like to
say a big thank you to BMW M for this fantastic award. I promise I
will do my best to win the BMW M Award again next year!”

High-performance for the racetrack: the BMW XM Label Red
Safety Car.

Next season, the BMW XM Label Red will play a major role on the
track: as the new MotoGP™ Safety Car. This will be the first time that
a high-performance car with an electric drive system will lead the
field in the pinnacle of motorcycle racing. Dorna CEO Ezpeleta and CEO
of BMW M van Meel officially unveiled the BMW XM Label Red Safety Car
on Saturday at the Valencia season finale. The new safety car will see
action for the first time at the opening round of the 2024 season,
which takes place in Qatar in March.

“BMW M GmbH enters its 26th season as ‘Official Car of MotoGP’ in
2024. The company has always tasked itself with employing its
technical innovations to help ensure safety at the racetrack,” said
Ezpeleta. “The BMW XM Label Red Safety Car is another genuine
highlight in the fleet of high-performance automobiles in use in
MotoGP. We are already looking forward to seeing it on the track in Qatar.”

“It is a logical step for the most powerful BMW M automobile we have
ever rolled out to be the new figurehead of our safety car fleet in
MotoGP,” said van Meel. “The first MotoGP Safety Car with an electric
drive system is clear evidence of our striving for new,
future-oriented technologies. In the BMW XM Label Red, a V8 engine and
an e-motor integrated in the 8-speed M Steptronic gearbox generate a
total output of 550 kW or 748 hp. This hugely powerful drive system,
and outstanding driving dynamics in all situations, make the BMW XM
Label Red the perfect basis for a MotoGP Safety Car.”

The BMW XM Label Red has been equipped with various safety car
elements for its outings at the racetrack with MotoGP™. They include
additional flashing front lights, the safety car roof bar, a front
splitter, Recaro seats, six-point racing harness, and a fire
extinguisher. When the new BMW XM Label Red MotoGP™ Safety Car makes
its first appearance in March 2024, it will sport the typical BMW M livery.

In their 25th season as ‘Official Car of
MotoGP™’, BMW M GmbH is continuing the tradition of providing an
extraordinary highlight as the winner’s car in the BMW M Award. The
fastest qualifier of the MotoGP™ 2023 will be rewarded with the
flagship version of the first BMW M high-performance car with an
electrified drive system: the brand-new BMW XM Label Red (combined
fuel consumption: 1.7 – 1.6 l/ 100 km; combined electricity
consumption: 34.5 – 33.0 kWh/100 km; combined CO₂ emissions: 39 – 35
g/km in the WLTP cycle; provisional values; figures for the NEDC
cycle: –). The exclusive winner’s car for 2023 was officially revealed
at the Spanish Grand Prix at Jerez de la Frontera. The car was
unveiled during the traditional ‘Casual Dinner’ hosted by MotoGP™
rights holder Dorna Sports on Friday evening, with Marc Saurina, Head
of Global Commercial Partnerships at Dorna Sports, and Steffi
Armbruster, Head of BMW M Brand Experience, doing the honours.

The BMW XM Label Red, which made its world debut in Shanghai just a
few days ago, embodies an extroverted lifestyle and passion for peak
performance. It combines a higher-performance M HYBRID system with
individual design accents that unmistakably express its outstanding
performance characteristics. A V8 engine and an electric motor
integrated into the 8-speed M Steptronic transmission generate a
combined system performance of 550 kW/748 hp. Making the BMW XM Label
Red the most powerful BMW M model ever made.

“In their anniversary season, BMW M GmbH is once again presenting
another really breath-taking car as the winner’s car in the BMW M
Award,” said Marc Saurina after the unveiling. “The BMW XM Label Red
is a more than impressive vehicle, and with its performance it is the
perfect embodiment of what MotoGP stands for. It is terrific that BMW
M GmbH consistently emphasises the importance it attaches to the
performances of our MotoGP riders. Every year the fastest qualifier is
rewarded with the latest flagship in the BMW M fleet, and the BMW XM
Label Red is a seamless continuation of this tradition. We are excited
to see who will be able to call this extraordinary prize their own at
the end of the season.”

“We are delighted to present the new BMW XM Label Red as the winner’s
car for the BMW M Award 2023,” said Steffi Armbruster. “Electrifying
the drive system of our high-performance cars is an exciting field and
the M HYBRID system of the BMW XM Label Red is an impressive testament
to that. Our new flagship shows how it is possible to not only
preserve the performance characteristics of BMW M models, but also to
enrich them with new facets of driving pleasure at the same time. This
makes the BMW XM Label Red the perfect winner’s car for the BMW M
Award, in which the best motorcycle racers in the world compete to see
who will be crowned the fastest overall. We are keeping our fingers
crossed for everyone and are looking forward to an exciting race for
the BMW M Award 2023!”

The BMW XM Label Red also takes centre stage when it comes to
visuals. The powerful proportions of a dynamic Sports Activity Vehicle
meet an extroverted exterior design with generous surface areas, clean
lines, and a front-end design developed exclusively for luxury class
BMW models. On top of this are design accents that highlight the
BMW XM Label Red's individual character, which is geared to maximum
performance. High-quality materials and the extravagant design have
transformed the interior into an exclusive M Lounge. The BMW XM Label
Red also comes with the latest BMW M driver assistance systems.

The BMW M Award has been rewarding the MotoGP™ riders who achieve the
best qualifying results since 2003. Riders receive points for their
positions in qualifying at each Grand Prix weekend, in line with the
scoring system used for the races. The rider with the most points at
the end of the season wins the coveted BMW M Award. The BMW M Award
record holder is Marc Márquez, who won the award seven times in a row
between 2013 and 2019. Francesco Bagnaia added his name to the list of
winners for the first time last year.

There was plenty of spectacular BMW M power on display at the start
of the race weekend at Jerez de la Frontera on Thursday. BMW M hosted
the Drift Challenge, during which the Red Bull Drift Brothers and
several riders laid plenty of rubber from various BMW M4 models on the
asphalt. Those taking part included Fabio Quartararo, Alex Rins and
Albert Arenas, who were clearly enjoying themselves at the BMW M wheel.

Munich. BMW is returning to Coachella for the fifth
time in 2023, this year celebrating the launch of the new BMW XM Label
Red (fuel consumption combined: 1.7 – 1.6 litres/100 km [166.2 – 176.6
mpg imp]; electric power consumption combined: 34.5 – 33.0 kWh/100 km;
CO2 emissions combined: 39 – 35 g/km in the WLTP cycle) in big-impact
style. The company is building on the success of its recently launched
“Dare to be you” campaign, in which it asks cultural leaders like
supermodel Naomi Campbell, British grime artist Skepta, German rapper
Apache 207, New York-based fashion designer Bloody Osiris and
professional skateboarder Ishod Wair to express who they really
are – with the new BMW XM (fuel consumption combined: 1.7 – 1.6
litres/100 km [166.2 – 176.6 mpg imp]; electric power consumption
combined: 34.5 – 33.0 kWh/100 km; CO2 emissions combined: 39 – 35 g/km
in the WLTP cycle) standing alongside.

Following the kick-off event at Art Basel Miami Beach, BMW is taking
the campaign to the next stage with a Coachella spin. An international
mix of emerging talents and household names provide the BMW XM with a
new creative context. Coachella performers like Charli XCX, Earthgang
and Uncle Waffles, plus German rapper du jour Badmomzjay, Grammy Award
winner Nija Charles and South Korean choreographer Leejung Lee, will
record their initial encounters with the first electrified
high-performance model from BMW M GmbH in their own individual style:
Dare to be you.

BMW in the spotlight as it helps to shape the zeitgeist.

BMW has a clear mission: to create a platform where cultural pioneers
can truly show us what they’re all about. As Stefan Ponikva, Vice
President Brand Communication, Brand Experience, says: “Our goal at
BMW is to be at the heart of where creative magic happens. We want to
enable artists – musicians, designers, actors, storytellers – to
express themselves and to interact with our brand and our latest,
already widely desired launch: the first-ever BMW XM. Coachella is an
excellent platform through which to develop fresh conversations with
talented emerging artists as well as established stars.

Spectacular backdrops for incredible pictures.

Photo and video sessions are both on the agenda again in California.
And it’s not just the Coachella Festival setting that provides an
inspirational location for unique shots. Other locations offering the
co-creators a spectacular backdrop include the Invisible House in the
Joshua Tree National Park. The building was designed to integrate into
the natural landscape so that it almost seems to disappear into the
surrounding Mojave Desert. With its extraordinary location, minimalist
architecture and mirrored glass completely covering the exterior, the
Invisible House is a fascinating sight that sparks creativity and is
ideal for staging an emotionally engaging presentation of the new BMW XM.

The expressive design of the BMW XM – with its bold lines, powerful
Sports Activity Vehicle proportions and distinctive front-end styling,
complete with illuminated BMW Iconic Glow kidney grille – conveys the
car’s authoritative character and guarantees the undivided attention
of all around, even when stationary. The performance qualities of the
latest BMW M model are equally as impressive, if not more so.
Comprising a V8 engine and an electric motor and generating an output
of 480 kW/653 hp, the M HYBRID drive system combines with the
M-specific chassis technology to ensure the car handles with a blend
of dynamism, agility and precision that none of its rivals can match.

The new BMW XM will be built at BMW Plant Spartanburg in the US along
with all other high-performance models from the BMW X segment. The new
range-topping BMW XM Label Red will also roll off the production line
there from August 2023. Featuring a bespoke version of the new
plug-in-hybrid drive system delivering a combined output of
550 kW/748 hp, the BMW XM Label Red will be the most powerful
series-produced car in the history of BMW M GmbH.

CO2 EMISSIONS & CONSUMPTION.

Munich / Shanghai. The BMW Group is making a strong
showing at Auto Shanghai 2023 with a total of three world premieres
from its BMW brand. Taking centre stage are the latest product and
technological innovations, with the focus placed firmly on
electrification and digitalisation.

This is the first time that only electrified new models from the
brand are being exhibited at a show. The star attractions are the
all-electric BMW i7 M70 xDrive (electric power consumption combined:
23.8 – 20.8 kWh/ 100 km in the WLTP cycle) as the new range-topping
model of the BMW 7 Series, the BMW XM Label Red (fuel consumption
combined: 1.7 – 1.6 litres/100 km [166.2 – 176.6 mpg imp]; electric
power consumption combined: 34.5 – 33.0 kWh/100 km; CO2
emissions combined: 39 – 35 g/km in the WLTP cycle) with M HYBRID
drive system, and a version of the purely electrically powered BMW iX1
(electric power consumption combined: 18.1 – 16.8 kWh/100 km in the
WLTP cycle) that has been developed exclusively for Chinese customers.
Also on display at Auto Shanghai 2023 are the BMW i Vision Dee and the
MINI Concept Aceman, which are both receiving their Asian premieres.

The premium manufacturer is also making it very clear that the
Chinese car market holds great importance for BMW by unveiling three
new models from the brand in public for the first time at Auto
Shanghai. “BMW stands for innovation, for cutting-edge products and a
broad technology approach,” says Oliver Zipse, Chairman of the Board
of Management of BMW AG. “This enables us to address the individual
wishes of our customers, especially here in China.”

From 18–27 April, 2023, BMW will be offering visitors to the National
Exhibition and Convention Center in Shanghai a wide-ranging show
experience. In the exhibition area inside Hall 7.1, the entire
portfolio of electrified models from the BMW brand are arranged around
the show stand’s hub, which is designed in the style of a charging
station. There is also an electrifying lighting installation as well
as numerous interactive elements to draw visitors’ attention to the
exhilarating product and brand experience on offer.

An exclusive event is taking place on the eve of the show’s opening
in Shanghai, where the BMW Group will already be presenting its latest
new models. It will also be offering a foretaste of the ‘Neue Klasse’
model generation, whose name is a reference to the company’s
groundbreaking models from the 1960s. The BMW Group is currently
developing a completely new technological platform for electric
vehicles for the Neue Klasse, which is going to redefine standards for
digitalisation, circular economy and design. “The Neue Klasse will
embody all three pillars of this transformation,” remarks Oliver
Zipse. “It will therefore further boost the fast-growing demand for
our all-electric vehicles.” At least six models are meant to go into
production during the first 24 months following the Neue Klasse launch.

The models celebrating their world premiere in Shanghai are being
presented under the guiding theme of “RE:IMAGINE Tomorrow – Make
Electric Emotional”. “Our BEV ramp-up is precisely geared to
increasing customer demand,” says Pieter Nota, member of the Board of
Management of BMW AG, responsible for Customer, Brands and Sales.
“Because the customer is the focus of all we do: we want to provide
the best premium customer experience in our industry.”

The all-electric BMW i7 M70 xDrive will in future be delivering a
unique performance experience in the luxury segment when it takes its
place at the top of the BMW 7 Series range. Its two electric motors
generate a combined system output of up to 485 kW/660 hp and maximum
torque of 1,100 Nm (811 lb-ft). “The BMW i7 M70 xDrive is the most
powerful and fastest all-electric vehicle of our portfolio,” comments
Pieter Nota.

The BMW XM Label Red is also making its global debut. The new
top-of-the-range version of the first ever electrified
high-performance model from BMW M GmbH is powered by an M HYBRID drive
system, whose combination of a V8 petrol engine and an electric motor
delivers maximum output of 550 kW/748 hp and peak torque of 1,000 Nm
(737 lb-ft).

The version of the BMW iX1 that has been specially developed for the
Chinese car market and is also being unveiled for the first time at
the Auto Shanghai show provides fresh impetus for all-electric premium
mobility in the compact segment. Made in China for China, the Sports
Activity Vehicle is fitted with one electric motor at the front axle
and another at the rear producing a combined powerful output. The new
BMW iX1 also includes some particularly sophisticated touches for the
Chinese market in terms of digitalisation. It is one of the brand’s
first models to include the control/operation system BMW iDrive with
QuickSelect based on BMW Operating System 9.

Visitors to the Auto Shanghai 2023 show will also have the
opportunity to meet the BMW i Vision Dee, with “Dee” standing for
Digital Emotional Experience. The Vision Vehicle facilitates a
remarkably intense bond between human and car using digital features
that extend far beyond the functionality of voice control and driver
assistance systems as we know them today.

The user experience in the BMW i Vision Dee is largely defined by a
projection of driving-related data and other information extending
across the entire width of the windscreen. This pioneering form of
visualisation also allows the real and virtual worlds to be merged
using the mixed reality slider control in the Vision Vehicle’s
cockpit. It will serve as the basis for developing an advanced version
of the BMW Head-Up Display introduced by BMW 20 years ago in a world
first for the automotive industry. The new system is already set to go
into production from 2025 in the first Neue Klasse models under the
name of BMW Panoramic Vision. “Making Vision Cars is exciting, but our
true goal is to bring our vision to life,” says Frank Weber, member of
the Board of Management of BMW AG, responsible for Development. “By
inventing leading-edge technologies and creating unique, fascinating
products like the all-new BMW Panoramic Vision. It will be a
fundamental new element of our future human-machine interaction system.”

The BMW i Vision Dee is also sure to impress visitors to the show
with the upgraded colour change technology of its outer skin. An
ePaper film from project partner E Ink that is applied to the body and
subdivided into 240 segments allows up to 32 different colours and a
virtually endless variety of patterns to be created and changed again
in just a few seconds.

The MINI brand’s line-up for Auto Shanghai 2023 includes a first
glimpse of a new vehicle concept. Featuring an all-electric drive
system and a brand new design, the MINI Concept Aceman is being
presented as a crossover model within the new MINI family. It is the
epitome of Charismatic Simplicity – the MINI design language of the
future that is shaped by the brand’s past and sends out trailblazing
signals by focusing on the essentials. The Concept Vehicle fuses
modern styling with pioneering technologies and demonstrates what
digitality could look like in a future MINI.

The BMW Group’s sustained success in China is closely linked to the
continuing ramp-up of electric mobility. With eleven purely
electrically powered models on show at Auto Shanghai 2023, the BMW
Group is exhibiting its most varied range of electric vehicles yet for
the Chinese market, where the company has been active since 1994. In
that time, the BMW Group has already delivered more than seven million
vehicles to customers in China. The company now has a network of over
630 dealerships extending throughout the country, virtually all of
which are also qualified to sell and service electrified vehicles.

In 2023, China is marking 70 years since the foundation of its
national car industry. At the same time, the BMW Group in China also
has an important anniversary coming up, as it is 20 years since
vehicles from the BMW brand started to be produced at the Dadong plant
of the BMW Brilliance Automotive Ltd. (BBA) joint venture. Since that
time, more than five million BMWs have rolled off the production line
at the site in Shenyang. Following the most recent expansion of
production capacity there, the facility will be capable of building
around 830,000 cars a year in future.

Local capabilities in the field of vehicle and innovative
technological development are also being consistently consolidated.
The Chinese research and development network is the largest outside
Germany. The number of people employed in these areas has tripled in
the past three years. There are now more than 3,200 designers,
engineers and electric mobility and software specialists in China
working in close collaboration with local technology firms and other
partners to develop cutting-edge innovations for the future of
individual mobility.

CO2 EMISSIONS & CONSUMPTION.

It also tops the power rankings in the Sports Activity Vehicle and Sports Activity Coupé segments.</pp:summary>

The BMW XM Label Red responds to the needs and desires of a global
target group of individualists – customers with a taste for extrovert
lifestyle and a passion for ultimate performance in a car reaching
beyond traditional conventions. Production will begin in August 2023
at BMW Group Plant Spartanburg in the USA. Scheduled for the same
timeframe is an exclusive edition of the range-topping model limited
to 500 examples and featuring an exterior paint finish in BMW
Individual Frozen Carbon Black metallic.

The BMW XM Label Red will celebrate its world premiere at the Auto
Shanghai international motor show in April 2023. China is one of the
most important sales regions for the BMW XM Label Red, alongside the
USA and the Middle East. It can be ordered from dealers from 28 April 2023.

M HYBRID system with top-level and precisely judged performance.

The M HYBRID system in the BMW XM Label Red demonstrates the
intoxicating effect of drive system electrification in
high-performance models from BMW M GmbH in impressive style. The
precisely honed interplay of the electric motor and V8 engine ensures
an instantaneous delivery of power that then builds emphatically and
continues unabated into the highest reaches of the rev range. This
combination of combustion engine and electric motor matches the drive
concept of the new BMW M Hybrid V8 endurance racing car, which made a
successful debut in the 24 Hours of Daytona race in the North American
IMSA series this year and is set to line up in events including the 24
Hours of Le Mans in 2024.

With a system output increased to 550 kW/748 hp, the new
top-of-the-line model outperforms the standard BMW XM produced since
December 2022 by 70 kW/95 hp. System torque is up by 200 Nm (147
lb-ft) and now peaks at 1,000 Nm (737 lb-ft). Power is channelled to
the road by the M xDrive all-wheel-drive system. In conjunction with a
model-specific composition of chassis technology and fast-acting,
high-precision powertrain and chassis control, this creates a unique
performance experience with dynamism and agility at a whole new level.

V8 engine with cutting-edge M TwinPower Turbo technology and
classical high-revving character.

The M HYBRID system of the BMW XM Label Red blends the future-focused
virtues of electrification with the traditional qualities of a
high-revving eight-cylinder combustion engine with M TwinPower Turbo
technology. The latest generation of the V8 stands out with its
extremely rapid power delivery, increased efficiency and minimised
emissions. As well as a cross-bank exhaust manifold, it also features
a reinforced crankshaft drive, turbocharging with an electrically
controlled blow-off valve, upgraded oil supply and optimised oil separation.

In the BMW XM Label Red, the V8 makes an even greater contribution to
the system output generated in tandem with the electric motor. It
produces its maximum output of 430 kW/585 hp at 5,600 rpm. Peak torque
is 750 Nm (553 lb-ft) – an increase of 100 Nm (74 lb-ft) over the
version of the engine in the standard BMW XM – and is on tap across an
extremely wide rev band from 1,800 to 5,400 rpm.

With two electronically controlled and continuously adjustable flaps,
the sports exhaust system of the BMW XM Label Red provides an
emotionally rich accompaniment to the engine’s power delivery with a
vibrancy and energy not normally associated with an eight-cylinder
unit. The engine sound therefore has a very distinctive quality, as do
the two pairs of dual tailpipes, with the individual pipes arranged
one above the other.

Instantaneous power delivery: electric motor with innovative
pre-gearing stage.

Like the V8 engine, the electric motor of the M HYBRID system also
employs innovative technology to deliver a noticeable increase in
pulling power. The permanently excited synchronous motor is integrated
into the eight-speed M Steptronic transmission together with its power
electronics and, in the now familiar style of electric motors,
responds to just slight movements of the accelerator with
instantaneous power delivery.

The electric motor contributes up to 145 kW/197 hp to the maximum
system output of the BMW XM Label Red and develops nominal torque of
280 Nm (206 lb-ft). A pre-gearing stage patented by BMW is used to
increase the torque produced by the motor to an effective maximum of
450 Nm (332 lb-ft) at the transmission input for the motor. In this
way, the compact motor is able to provide the sort of torque boost
that could normally only be achieved using a far larger and heavier unit.

The improved build-up of power resulting from the pre-gearing stage
between the electric motor’s rotor and the transmission’s input shaft
can be clearly felt, both when accelerating off the line and when
putting in a quick burst of speed. Combined with the optimised power
delivery of the V8 engine and its high-revving character, this
produces performance of rare authority and composure. The BMW XM Label
Red needs just 3.8 seconds to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph). Its
top speed is electronically limited to 250 km/h (155 mph), but rises
to 290 km/h (180 mph) on cars with the optional M Driver’s Package.

As well as providing an electric boost effect under acceleration, the
electric motor also performs a supporting role under steady loads,
helping to increase the efficiency of the combustion engine. This
gives the BMW XM Label Red average petrol consumption of
1.7 – 1.6 litres per 100 kilometres (166.2 – 176.6 mpg imp) in the
WLTP test cycle, combined electric power consumption of 34.5 –
33.0 kWh per 100 kilometres and CO2 emissions of 39 –
35 grams per kilometre.

Powerful high-voltage battery, BMW IconicSounds Electric,
Combined Charging Unit and predictive heat management.

The motor draws its energy from a high-voltage lithium-ion battery
integrated into the underbody area, which is a product of
fifth-generation BMW eDrive technology. The lithium-ion battery stands
out with its high energy density at a cell and battery pack level. It
provides a constant flow of power across a wide temperature range and
even under the heavy loads brought by a particularly sporty driving
style. It has a usable energy content of 25.7 kWh. Together with the
electric motor’s excellent efficiency and the system of intelligent
energy management, this enables an electric range of 75 –
83 kilometres (47 – 52 miles) in the WLTP cycle.

The BMW XM Label Red can therefore complete not only journeys around
town but also cross-country routes locally emission-free and almost
silently. The top speed achievable in pure electric mode is 140 km/h
(87 mph). The power delivery of the electric motor also gains a
soundtrack of its own, in the form of the BMW IconicSounds Electric
developed as part of a collaboration between the BMW Group and film
score composer Hans Zimmer.

The Combined Charging Unit of the M HYBRID system enables AC charging
at up to 7.4 kW. This means the high-voltage battery can be
replenished from zero to 100 per cent charge in 4.25 hours. Predictive
heat management reduces charging times by judiciously warming or
cooling the battery. Supplied as standard are both the Flexible Fast
Charger for use with domestic or industrial sockets and the charging
cable Professional. This mode 3 cable for topping up at public
charging stations can be kept in a suitably stylish and exclusive
weekend-type bag and secured in the boot area using a crash-protective
carabiner-belt combination.

Supreme traction, captivating performance: M xDrive and M
Sport differential.

The M xDrive all-wheel-drive system channels the power generated by
the combustion engine and electric motor between all four wheels
precisely, quickly and as required at all times. The system has a
rear-biased setup, which enhances the agility of the BMW XM Label Red
and is particularly pronounced in 4WD Sport mode. When the DSC
(Dynamic Stability Control) system has been fully disengaged, the
traction-optimised 4WD Sand mode – conceived specifically for driving
over dunes and similar surfaces – can be activated via the M Setup menu.

Building on the work of the M xDrive system is an electronically
controlled differential lock in the rear axle, which further enhances
traction, agility and directional stability. The M Sport differential
brings a need-based and fully variable distribution of drive torque
between the left and right rear wheels.

Model-specific chassis tuning, integrated transverse dynamics management.

The most powerful road-legal BMW M car ever made impresses not only
with the unique power delivery of its M HYBRID system, but also with
the breadth of its driving attributes, which enthral and delight time
after time. The BMW XM Label Red rises to every challenge with
unshakable poise and assurance, whether demonstrating its manifestly
sporty performance credentials, cruising along in leisurely fashion
(with zero local emissions if desired), inviting its occupants to
relax in comfort on long trips or venturing off road. The car’s
sophisticated chassis technology gives it an extraordinary spread of
attributes, from dynamism to long-distance comfort, and is adapted to
the bespoke performance characteristics of the drive system with the
precision for which BMW M models are renowned.

Standard equipment for the BMW XM Label Red includes adaptive
M suspension Professional – featuring electronically controlled
dampers and active roll stabilisation with Active Roll Comfort to
eliminate body roll on one side of the vehicle – and Integral Active
Steering. The M Sport braking system comprises six-piston,
fixed-calliper brakes at the front and single-piston,
floating-calliper units at the rear. It teams with the
latest-generation integrated braking system, which ensures the
stopping power generated by recuperation and the friction brake is
combined with great precision, and which also presents the driver with
two pedal feel settings.

Like the M xDrive all-wheel-drive system, the M Sport differential,
active roll stabilisation and the steering’s control systems, the
near-actuator wheel slip limitation tech integrated into the engine
management and the Performance Control function are networked with the
central transverse dynamics management. The integrated application of
all powertrain and chassis systems together with the fine-tuning
carried out on varying types of road – from urban driving to country
roads and motorways – with the help of BMW M GmbH’s racing expertise
has resulted in a well-resolved driving experience in every situation
and with every configuration.

Extroverted design with exclusive details.

Stylistically as well as technically, the BMW XM Label Red takes the
first model since the legendary BMW M1 to be conceived solely as a
high-performance car from BMW M GmbH into even more exclusive
territory. The muscular proportions of a dynamic Sports Activity
Vehicle converge with an extrovert exterior design featuring large
surfaces, clear lines and a front-end look reserved for luxury-class
BMW models. And added to the mix here are design accents underscoring
the singular character of the BMW XM Label Red as a car focused on
achieving the highest peaks of performance.

The distinguishing features of the performance-maximising XM variant
include an accent band in Toronto Red metallic, although a black
accent band also can be specified. The use of red also extends to the
model badges and the wheel inserts. The BMW XM Label Red is fitted as
standard with 21-inch light-alloy wheels. The surrounds for the BMW M
kidney grille and diffuser elements come in Black high-gloss.

The spectrum of exterior paint shades available for the new model
comprises one solid and eight metallic variants. Customers can also
choose from more than 50 BMW Individual special paint finishes,
including the new BMW Individual Urban Green, BMW Individual Petrol
Mica metallic, BMW Individual Anglesey Green metallic and BMW
Individual Sepia metallic. The new BMW Individual Visualizer (at https://individual.bmw-m.com/)
is available for the first time from the start of orders for the BMW
XM Label Red to help customers with the paint selection process. The
car is depicted extremely realistically in the paint finish selected
by the customer against the backdrop of BMW M Town. Here, it can be
viewed from various angles and with the aid of 360-degree video.

The limited-edition variant of the BMW XM Label Red – only 500
examples of which will be released globally – maximises the
exclusivity factor with even more expressive styling. Toronto Red
metallic for the BMW M kidney grille surround and rear diffuser insert
create additional design cues that combine with a body paint finish in
BMW Individual Frozen Carbon Black metallic. The contrast of the gloss
colour accents against shimmering matt surfaces ensures the exterior
of the BMW XM Label Red has a particularly enthralling effect.

A black/red colour scheme also brings a visually appealing and
sporting flavour to the interior of the BMW XM Label Red. The
distinctive three-dimensional headliner and the trim for the body
pillars have black surfaces. Red is used to bring an extra sense of
exclusivity to the diamond-shaped upper sections of the backrests and
the integrated head restraints of the seats for the driver and front
passenger and the outer rear seats. This is complemented by red
contrast stitching for the black surfaces of the seats, instrument
panel, door trim and centre console, and the likewise red accents for
the air vents. Among the other exclusive features of the BMW XM Label
Red interior are a red “XM” badge below the control display and an

Munich. The launch communication for the new BMW XM
(fuel consumption combined: 1.7 - 1.6 litres/100 km; combined power
consumption: 34.5 - 33.0 kWh/100 km; combined CO2
emissions: 39 - 35 g/km according to WLTP; data according to NEDC: -
), the first high-performance automobile with M HYBRID drive will be
launched by BMW together with strong, independent and self-confident
creative partners. First and foremost: Naomi Campbell, model, actress,
cultural innovator and one of the most influential figures on the
international fashion scene over the past four decades. With her as
co-creator, the worldwide communication for the market launch of the
BMW XM under the motto "Dare to be You" focuses on a new
dimension of self-confident presence, expressive lifestyle and assured
individuality. The first BMW XM not only makes an extravagant design
statement, but is the pioneer of maximum performance with electrified
drive at the same time.

"The BMW M slogan 'Dare to be You' immediately appealed to me
because it describes exactly the confident attitude that is necessary
for progress and positive change," says Naomi Campbell. With her
strong sense of aesthetics and design, she will be instrumental in the
upcoming projects. As a further highlight of this cooperation, a
one-off model of the BMW XM designed by her will be presented in the
course of 2023.

A timeless icon and committed champion of social change, Naomi
Campbell belongs to that select circle of catwalk stars for whom the
term supermodel was invented. To this day, the British-born daughter
of Jamaican parents uses her presence at international fashion shows
to advocate for more diversity in the fashion business. That is why
she is still considered to be a pioneer for the next generation of
emerging talents in the creative and fashion scene.

Parallel to her career on the catwalks of haute couture, Naomi
Campbell has long been successful as an actress, designer and
entrepreneur. In addition, she supports a variety of charities,
including its new EMERGE initiative to promote the creative talents of
tomorrow, which in 2022 focused in particular on the next generation
of cultural talent on the African continent, as well as UNESCO.
"Naomi Campbell is a woman who goes her own way unswervingly and
has become not only a unique supermodel but also a fascinating
personality," says Jens Thiemer, Senior Vice President Customer
and Brand BMW. "There are few people who can identify with the
motto 'Dare to be You' as strongly as she can."

The BMW XM will make its debut on global automotive markets in spring
2023 to create a sensation with its expressive design and powerfully
characterful interior with M Lounge in the rear as well as its
stunning performance. BMW M GmbH combines a spectacular vehicle
concept with pioneering drive technology with the independently
developed Sports Activity Vehicle, available exclusively as a BMW M automobile.

Adapted from endurance racing and used for the first time in a
production model, the BMW XM's M HYBRID drive generates a system
output of 480 kW/653 hp. As a special BMW XM Label Red model (fuel
consumption combined: 1.7 - 1.6 litres/100 km; combined power
consumption: 34.5 - 33.0 kWh/100 km; combined CO2
emissions: 39 - 35 g/km according to WLTP) and with a maximum output
of 550 kW/748 hp, it will even become the most powerful
series-production vehicle ever approved for road use in the 50-year
history of BMW M GmbH from autumn 2023.

CO2 EMISSIONS & CONSUMPTION.

Munich. Unmissable, irresistible, unconventional: Its

in the WLTP cycle; electric power consumption combined: 30.1 – 28.9
kWh/100 km in the WLTP cycle; CO2 emissions combined: 36 – 33 g/km in
the WLTP cycle; figures for the NEDC cycle: – *) an exceptional
phenomenon on the roads of this world. The first electrified
high-performance automobile from BMW M GmbH fascinates with its
extrovert appearance as much as with its innovative, 480 kW/653 hp M
HYBRID drive. Additional options for expressing both the unmistakable
character of the BMW XM and the personal style of its owner are opened
up by the special paintwork from BMW Individual, which can be ordered
from April 2023.

At the US BMW Group plant in Spartanburg, flexibility in the painting
process is now being increased even further. This means that BMW
Individual special paint finishes will also be available for the
plug-in hybrid model in the future. The new body colors, including the
variants BMW Individual Urban Green, BMW Individual Petrol Mica
metallic, BMW Individual Anglesey Green metallic and BMW Individual
Sepia metallic, enhance the extravagant charisma of the BMW XM with a
particularly individual touch.

The BMW Individual special paint finishes, which are as exclusive as
they are expressive, emphasize the design language for the exterior of
the BMW XM, which is characterized by generous surfaces, dynamically
flowing lines and sharp edges. All BMW Individual special paint
finishes are applied in a separate manufacturing process with an
increased proportion of manual work. A particularly precise surface
treatment and a careful finish ensure that they are characterized by
impressive color depth and maximum brilliance.

CO2 EMISSIONS & CONSUMPTION.

BMW M GmbH closes anniversary year with new sales record.

Munich. At the end of its anniversary year, BMW M
GmbH has once again achieved record results. Global sales of
performance and high-performance cars rose to 177,257 vehicles during
the 2022 financial year. This represents an increase of 8.4 per cent
compared to the previous year, despite the continuing challenging
conditions in the area of logistics and supply chains. The most
important single market in 2022 was again the USA, with the second
most important sales region again being the German domestic market,
followed by the UK.

“The enthusiasm of the M community for emotionally powerful
performance on the road and on the racetrack has carried us through
the entire anniversary year,” says Franciscus van Meel, Chairman of
the Board of Management of BMW M GmbH. “This is also expressed in a
new sales record for BMW M automobiles, which gives us a positive
outlook for 2023.”

BMW i4 M50: the best-selling BMW M automobile drives locally
emission-free.
At the same time, 2022 marks BMW M
GmbH's successful start into the age of electric mobility. “The
best-selling BMW M automobile of 2022 is the all-electric BMW i4 M50,”
says Timo Resch, Head of Customer, Brand and Sales at BMW M GmbH. “For
us, this is a clear signal that the unique M feeling has arrived in
the world of electrified vehicles.” The BMW i4 M50 is powered by an
electric motor on both the front and rear axles, which together
generate a maximum output of 400 kW/544 hp. The perfectly coordinated
power delivery of the two e-motors and independent suspension tuning
ensure an M-typical driving experience characterised by dynamics,
agility and precision, which proved to be a real crowd-puller right
from the outset.

With the BMW iX M60*, a second all-electric performance car from BMW
M GmbH made a highly successful debut. During the course of 2023, BMW
M GmbH will continue its product offensive with, among other things,
the first electrified high-performance automobile, the BMW XM, and the
BMW i7 M70, a BMW M automobile based on the fully electric BMW i7. The
further transformation towards electric mobility has also already been
mapped out. In order to be able to include high-performance cars with
purely electric drive in the range in the future, BMW M GmbH will
intensify the corresponding concept testing in 2023. The focus will be
on an integrated driving dynamics control system and an electric M
xDrive all-wheel drive system with four electric motors, which will
ensure that the emotionally powerful M feeling reaches an even higher level.

Anniversary year with spectacular premieres, BMW M3 and BMW M4
remain on the road to success, fast-paced launch for the new BMW
M240i xDrive Coupe*.
The celebrations of the 50th
anniversary of BMW M GmbH were accompanied by debuts for numerous
spectacular new models. The broad spectrum of new releases ranged from
the second generation of the puristic BMW M2*, with its combination of
straight six-cylinder engine, 6-speed manual transmission and
rear-wheel drive, which evokes classic driving pleasure in a
high-performance automobile, to the extroverted BMW XM with its
480 kW/653 hp M HYBRID drive. The first BMW M3 Touring* also offers
completely new ways to experience M-typical performance. This
diversity creates ideal conditions for attracting additional target
groups and generating further growth in 2023.

The current increase in sales figures is also based on sales
successes in a wide range of vehicle segments. The high-performance
sports cars of the BMW M3 and BMW M4 series, which – including the new
BMW M3 Touring – are available in four body variants, in two
performance levels, with a choice of a 6-speed manual or an 8-speed M
Steptronic transmission, as well as with rear-wheel drive or the
all-wheel drive system M xDrive, continued to enjoy particularly
widespread popularity in 2022. BMW M GmbH thus covers a wide range of
customer needs in this core segment.

With an exceptionally strong performance within their competitive
environment, the high-performance cars based on BMW X models also
contributed to BMW M GmbH's new sales record. The upcoming upgrade for
the BMW X5 M and BMW X6 M models in spring 2023 will provide effective
impetus for a continuation of this success story.

The successful launch of the new BMW M240i xDrive Coupe in 2022
proved to be a highlight in the performance car segment. The new
edition of the compact two-door is powered by a 275 kW/374 hp
straight-six engine and is now also available with classic rear-wheel
drive. “The new sales record for BMW M Automobiles is based on our
successful presence in a broad range of vehicle segments,” says Timo
Resch. “With our wide-ranging product portfolio, we are also ideally
positioned for the future.”

Premiere at Daytona: the new BMW M3 CS* and the BMW M Hybrid V8.
In addition, BMW M GmbH fulfils the desire for particularly
concentrated racing characteristics with attractive special models –
as early as 2022 with the BMW M4 CSL* and soon with the new BMW M3 CS.

The BMW M3 CS will make its world debut on the last weekend of
January as part of the 24-hour race at Daytona. The tradition-steeped
competition in the US state of Florida is also the venue for BMW M
Motorsport's comeback to endurance racing. The new BMW M Hybrid V8
will compete there for the first time. 47 years after the Daytona
overall victory of the legendary BMW 3.0 CSL, the new LMDh prototype
is set to race for points in the IMSA GTP class of the WeatherTech
SportsCar Championship before also competing in the official FIA World
Endurance Championship at Le Mans and elsewhere in 2024.

The final phase of the development process and the subsequent test
drives on various race tracks were among the highlights of 2022 for
the BMW M GmbH motorsport department, while the all-important success
on the race track was the overall victory in the DTM drivers' and
teams' championships. South African Sheldon van der Linde and Team
Schubert Motorsport secured the title win in the prestigious touring
car championship in the very first season with the new BMW M4 GT3.

the progressive luxury ambience inside the BMW XM come together to
create a fresh interpretation of the Sports Activity Vehicle (SAV)
concept for the high-performance segment that will open up that
inimitable M feeling to new target groups and markets.

The highlight of the brand’s model offensive in its anniversary year,
the BMW XM is also the first BMW M original since the BMW M1.
Precisely crafted flourishes in the exterior design of the
high-performance SAV recall the legendary mid-engined sports car.
Production of the BMW XM will get underway at BMW Group Plant
Spartanburg in the USA in December 2022 before it arrives at dealers
worldwide in spring 2023. The key sales markets will be the USA, China
and the Middle East.

M HYBRID drive system for stunning performance and cruising
with zero local emissions.

The M HYBRID drive system in the BMW XM delivers an overall output of
480 kW/653 hp (generated by the combination of the combustion engine
with up to 360 kW/489 hp and the electric drive system with up to
145 kW/197 hp). It is underpinned by a newly developed, classically
high-revving V8 engine with cutting-edge M TwinPower Turbo technology.
The 4.4-litre unit features a cross-bank exhaust manifold and an
optimised oil separation process.

The eight-cylinder engine is assisted in its task by an electric
motor integrated into the eight-speed M Steptronic transmission. The
motor’s propulsive power is instantly on tap when pulling away,
delivering unhesitating response to every movement of the accelerator.
The M HYBRID drive system produces maximum overall torque of
800 Nm/590 lb-ft (engine with up to 650 Nm [479 lb-ft] combined with
electric motor developing up to 280 Nm [206 lb-ft]). A pre-gearing
stage increases the electric motor’s effective maximum torque to
450 Nm (332 lb-ft) at the transmission input.

One engine, one electric motor, three operating modes, four
driven wheels.

The intelligently managed interplay between engine and motor delivers
a well-resolved performance experience worthy of the M badge in all
driving situations. It is defined by an immense build-up of power that
begins instantaneously and is sustained throughout the rev range. The
BMW XM sprints from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 4.3 seconds, accompanied
by an energy-charged soundtrack of rare emotional appeal for an
eight-cylinder unit. This originates from its sports exhaust system
featuring electronically controlled, continuously adjustable flaps and
hexagonal dual tailpipes arranged one above the other for the first
time on a BMW M model.

The M Hybrid button on the centre console is used to select one of
three operating modes, including an ELECTRIC setting for cruising with
zero local emissions at speeds of up to 140 km/h (87 mph) and over a
maximum distance of 82 – 88 km (51 – 55 miles)* in the WLTP cycle.
This is thanks to the lithium-ion high-voltage battery mounted in the
car’s underbody and the 25.7 kWh of usable energy it provides. The
Combined Charging Unit in the BMW XM enables AC charging at up to 7.4 kW.

The BMW IconicSounds Electric developed in a collaboration between
the BMW Group and film score composer Hans Zimmer also create
a
suitable backing track for the electric motor’s power delivery. The
M-specific electric drive sound provides authentic feedback to
every movement of the accelerator pedal when driving in the locally
emission-free operating mode. And if the Sport or Sport Plus setting
is selected while the drive system is operating in HYBRID mode, a
boost sound will underline the electrical assistance being provided to
the combustion engine.

The power generated by the drive duo is channelled to the road via
the all-wheel-drive system M xDrive, whose rear-biased setup is
particularly noticeable in 4WD Sport mode. Drivers can also select 4WD
Sand mode, which has been conceived specifically for driving over
dunes and similar surfaces. Operation of the M Sport differential in
the rear axle is also fully variable.

BMW XM LABEL RED: the most powerful BMW M model ever made.

The BMW XM LABEL RED (fuel consumption combined: 1.7 – 1.4 l/ 100 km
[166.2 – 201.8 mpg imp]; electric power consumption combined:
32.4 – 30.4 kWh/100 km; CO2 emissions combined: 37 –
33 g/km in the WLTP cycle; figures for the NEDC cycle: – ) will be
added to the model range in autumn 2023. The most powerful road-legal
series-produced car in the history of BMW M GmbH will summon up system
output of 550 kW/748 hp (generated by the combination of the
combustion engine with up to 430 kW/585 hp and the electric drive
system with up to 145 kW/197 hp) and maximum system torque of
1,000 Nm/737 lb-ft (generated by the combination of the combustion
engine with up to 750 Nm [553 lb-ft] and the electric drive system
with up to 280 Nm [206 lb-ft]). (All output, torque, consumption and
emission figures are estimates based on the vehicle’s current stage of development.)

Distinctive design as expression of presence and performance.

The exterior design of the BMW XM is a statement of exclusivity,
presence and performance. The proportions of a modern SAV, powerful
contours, a dynamically stretched silhouette, M-typical design cues, a
reworked interpretation of the front-end look created for BMW’s
luxury-segment models and a host of distinctive accents give the XM a
singularly extrovert aura.

Headlights split into two separate units, a BMW kidney grille with
gold-coloured surrounds and continuous contour lighting, as well as
large air intakes are the defining features of the front end. Moving
round to the side, an accent band in Gold is reminiscent of the black
strip running along the body of the BMW M1. Further nods to the past
come in the form of the BMW logos engraved into the flat rear window
and the eye-catching louvred structure of the sculptural rear lights.
Fitted in a 21-inch format as standard with the option of further
variants up to 23 inches in size, the M light-alloy wheels also boast
a highly distinctive design.

Interior: driver-focused cockpit, luxurious M Lounge in the rear.

The expressive style of the BMW XM’s exterior design continues inside
the cabin. The cockpit and front seats are designed entirely around an
active driving experience. Standard specification includes
M multifunction seats, knee pads and a model-specific M leather
steering wheel, along with M-specific graphics including shift lights
for the BMW Curved Display and BMW Head-Up Display.

A generous feeling of space, high-quality materials and extravagant
design transform the rear of the BMW XM into an exclusive M Lounge.
Heated backrests extending well into the sides of the rear compartment
and specially designed cushions offer passengers luxurious levels of
comfort. The sculptural headliner is quite unique with its
three-dimensional prism structure, photo mount-style border and 100
LED units for illumination. There is a choice of four different trims
for customising the interior, as well as a new Vintage leather for the
upper sections of the instrument panel and door panels. Ambient
lighting, four-zone automatic climate control, the Harman Kardon
Surround Sound System and the Travel & Comfort System are all
standard features too, while the options list includes the Bowers
& Wilkins Diamond Surround Sound System with 1,500-watt amplifier
and four additional speakers in the roof area.

Chassis: widest possible spectrum between dynamism and
long-distance comfort.

The unique blend of driving pleasure and well-being served up by the
BMW XM cabin is mirrored by the driving experience on offer.
Sophisticated chassis systems with M-specific tuning enable the car to
offer the widest possible spectrum between signature M dynamism and
above-average ride comfort for its segment. Drivers can also customise
the vehicle settings via the M Setup menu. The integrated application
of all powertrain and chassis systems on varying types of road – from
urban driving to country roads to motorways – has resulted in
supremely assured, well-resolved handling at all times.

The chassis design comprises a double-wishbone front axle and a
five-link rear axle with specially tuned kinematic and elastokinematic
properties. The BMW XM comes as standard with adaptive M suspension
Professional including electronically controlled dampers and active
roll stabilisation with 48V electric motors and Active Roll Control.
It is also the first BMW M model to feature Integral Active Steering,
also part of standard specification.

Traction, agility and directional stability all benefit from both the
near-actuator wheel slip limitation and the networking of all control
systems within the integrated transverse dynamics management. The
M Sport brakes work in tandem with an integrated braking system that
presents the driver with two pedal feel settings. 21-inch
M light-alloy wheels are fitted as standard, while there is also the
option of 22-inch or 23-inch M light-alloy wheels.

Matchless variety of driver assistance systems.

The BMW XM boasts the largest selection of driver assistance systems
offered – either as standard or as an option – for any
high-performance vehicle from BMW M GmbH. Standard specification
includes the Driving Assistant, which comprises Front Collision
Warning, Lane Departure Warning including lane return with steering
assistance, the Evasion Assistant, Alertness Assistant and Speed Limit
Info system. The optional Driving Assistant Professional combines
Active Cruise Control with Stop&Go function with a host of other
features, including the Steering and Lane Control Assistant, traffic
light recognition, automatic Speed Limit Assist and Active Navigation.

Parking Assistant Plus is also included as standard. In addition to
the Reversing Assistant this system comprises the functions Parking
View, front and rear Panorama View and 3D View.

A bespoke driving experience at the touch of a button.

The control panel on the centre console of the BMW XM features a
model-specific array of buttons for personalising the driving
experience in a variety of ways. For the first time, this includes the
M Hybrid button, which is used to select the desired operating mode
for the drive system. Drivers can choose between HYBRID, ELECTRIC and
eCONTROL modes. There is also the Setup button providing direct access
to the configuration settings for the drive system, chassis, steering,
braking system, M xDrive and level of braking energy recuperation.

Another button is used to select M Mode. When drivers switch from the
default Road setting to Sport, interventions from the driver
assistance systems are restricted to just the essential functions
required for sporty driving, as is the content shown in the
information display. Two individually configured vehicle setups can be
stored together with the preferred settings for the M HYBRID system’s
operating mode, the engine note, Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) and
the transmission’s shift characteristics, and then called up using the
M buttons on the steering wheel.

BMW Live Cockpit Professional and Head-Up Display as standard.

The BMW XM comes as standard with BMW Live Cockpit Professional,
which brings with it an M-specific version of the latest-generation
multi-sensory vehicle experience BMW iDrive. Based on BMW Operating
System 8, it comprises a BMW Curved Display formed by a 12.3-inch
information display and a control display with a screen diagonal of
14.9 inches. The new display grouping and the ever-expanding
capabilities of the BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant mean the new
BMW iDrive has been deliberately geared towards touch operation and
gesture control as well as dialogue using natural language. The iDrive
Controller and multifunction buttons on the steering wheel are
additionally joined in the standard specification roster by the BMW
Head-Up Display and BMW gesture control.

The cloud-based BMW Maps navigation system is another feature of BMW
Live Cockpit Professional. The optional BMW Digital Key Plus enables
customers to lock and unlock their new BMW XM with their Apple iPhone
by means of security-enhanced ultra-wideband (UWB) radio technology.
And smartphone integration for Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™, the
personalised BMW ID functionality and an eSIM designed for 5G mobile
technology are also all available to use in the BMW XM.

CO2 EMISSIONS & CONSUMPTION.

Integrated application of the 480 kW/650 hp M hybrid drive system and the model-specific M suspension technology paves the way for an outstandingly dynamic driving experience.</pp:summary>

Munich. Its expressive design still remains hidden
under camouflage foil, its athletic proportions are already
perceptible, and the extreme performance characteristics of the new
BMW XM make every test drive an experience even for seasoned
professionals. Within the framework of driving dynamics testing, BMW M
GmbH's first high-performance car with electrified drive is currently
completing the final phase of its series development process. Just a
few months after the presentation of the BMW Concept XM, prototypes of
the production model are demonstrating the high level of maturity of
their drive and suspension technology in an intensive test programme.
The BMW XM is ready to redefine high performance, luxury and sovereignty.

Following the all-electric Performance models BMW i4 M50 (combined
power consumption: 22.5 – 18.0 kWh/100 km according to WLTP,
CO2 emissions: 0 g/km; data according to NEDC: – ) and BMW
iX M60 (combined power consumption: 24.5 –21.9 kWh/100 km according to
WLTP, CO2 emissions: 0 g/km; data according to NEDC: – ),
the BMW XM presents another facet of e-mobility within the
high-performance car segment with the first M hybrid drive system. A
newly developed V8 petrol engine combined with an electric drive
mobilises a system output of 480 KW/650 hp. Combined torque is 800 Nm.
With sovereignty at all times, power is effectively transferred to the
road via the first hybrid-specific M xDrive four-wheel drive system,
which is extremely spontaneous.

The countdown to the world premiere of the BMW XM perfectly
accompanies the anniversary activities marking the 50th anniversary of
BMW M GmbH. In December 2022, series production will commence at the
US BMW Group Spartanburg plant. "With the debut of the BMW XM at
the end of our anniversary year, we are looking into the future, where
BMW M will continue to break with conventions and push
boundaries," says Franciscus van Meel, Chairman of the Board of
Management of BMW M GmbH. "Electrification gives us new
opportunities to demonstrate that unmistakable M feeling in a
fascinating way and transfer it to the road. Regardless of their drive
technology, our performance and high-performance cars will continue to
possess an unmistakable and authentic M character in the future."

For their test drives on public roads, the development and test
engineers established an exceptionally demanding and varied route
profile. The intelligently controlled interaction of the new
eight-cylinder engine and the particularly powerful electric motor can
thus be tested and refined in detail under a wide range of conditions:
from intermediate sprints on the motorway to winding country roads and
stop-and-go traffic in the city. Steep mountain passages and narrow
serpentines offer the ideal terrain to demonstrate the driving
dynamics potential of the M xDrive system, including the
electronically controlled differential lock in the rear axle transmission.

With an electric range of around 80 kilometres according to WLTP
(estimated 30 miles EPA range, not an official EPA value) the new BMW
XM can also be driven not only within built-up areas but also over
longer distances in a virtually silent and locally emission-free
cruising mode. The spontaneous reactions of the electric motor to
every movement of the accelerator pedal are intensely perceptible. In
Electric mode, its instantaneous power delivery ensures dynamic
acceleration, for example when starting off at traffic lights or
exiting a town.

The fact that the new BMW XM was designed as a pure BMW M automobile
is also evident from its almost perfect 50: 50 axle-load distribution
and its suspension technology. The new BMW XM is equipped with an
Adaptive M Professional suspension as standard. This also includes a
model-specific version of the springs and the electronically
controlled shock absorbers as well as – for the first time in a BMW M
automobile – an electromechanical roll stabilising system with 48-volt
technology. With the additional Active Roll Comfort function, it
reduces rolling movements due to uneven road surfaces on one side. At
the same time it actively adjusts the body height on the corresponding
side of the vehicle. Integral Active Steering is also part of the
standard equipment of a BMW M automobile for the first time and
promotes agility and cornering dynamics as well as driving stability
when changing lanes.

With this combination, a model-specific M brake system and the latest
generation of the integrated brake system, as well as optional M
light-alloy wheels up to 23 inches in size, the new BMW XM offers
handling that can be precisely controlled even in highly dynamic
driving situations. It also excels through supreme day-to-day and
long-distance comfort. The optimum balance between performance and
ride comfort is achieved in the intensive testing programme under
everyday conditions. The experienced developers aboard the
pre-production model accurately record how the suspension systems
react to ruts, bumps or dirty stretches of road and how confidently
sudden changes of direction, spontaneous lane changes or long downhill
stretches with high deceleration requirements are mastered. As part of
the integrated application of all drive and suspension systems, their
fine-tuning ensures that the combustion engine and electric motor as
well as all suspension components and control systems of the BMW XM
constitute a perfectly coordinated overall package for a new form of
typical M performance.

CO2 EMISSIONS & CONSUMPTION.

*Due to the prototype vehicle status, technical details like fuel
