  it was launched in summer 2021 as an emission-free electric scooter
  for urban centres. Until today, the BMW CE 04 remains the undisputed
  market leader in the segment of all-electric motorcycles and scooters
  with an output of over 11 kW. The premium scooter has been
  specifically revised for this segment.</p>
<p>The <strong>Basic variant</strong> features Lightwhite uni body
  colour combined with a black-grey seat and clear windshield, giving
  the new BMW CE 04 a clean and consistent look.</p>
<p>The <strong>Avantgarde variant</strong> in the body colour Gravity
  blue metallic matt, combined with the contrasting colour Sao Paulo
  yellow, highlights the CE 04's dynamic and forward-thinking design.
  The Pro seat in black/light grey with yellow and white tapes, a
  yellow-tinted windshield, and a laser-engraved rear wheel rim complete
  the design.</p>
<p>The <strong>Exclusive variant</strong> features the Spacesilver
  metallic body colour combined with exclusive tapes, giving the CE 04
  an especially elegant look. This version of the CE 04 also features
  increased wind and weather protection in the form of a large
  windshield with integrated hand protectors and heated grips. It also
  has a laser-engraved rear wheel rim on one side, a comfort seat with
  seat heating, new upholstery fabric and CE 04 embroidery.</p>
<p>Increased wind and weather protection in the form of a large
  windshield with integrated hand protectors, as well as a comfort seat
  with seat heating, are also available as optional equipment ex works
  for the other model variants. The new laser-engraved rear wheel rims
  on one side are reserved for the Avantgarde and Exclusive variants.</p>
<p>
  <strong>The optional equipment range for the new BMW CE 04 comprises
    the following:</strong></p>
<ul>
  <li>Centre stand.</li>
  <li>Anti-theft alarm.</li>
  <li>E-Call.</li>
  <li>Heated grips.</li>
  <li>Quick charger.</li>
  <li>Weather protection (large windshield and integrated hand protectors).</li>
  <li>Tyre pressure monitoring.</li>
  <li>Power reduction for A1 permit (ECE only).</li>
  <li>Comfort seat.</li>
  <li>The dynamic package includes Headlight Pro, LED daytime running
    light, adaptive headlight, ABS Pro and DTC, additional dynamic
    riding mode.</li></ul>
<p>
  <strong>The BMW CE 04 - the electric champion for the city. Like no
    other, it combines the latest electromobility technologies with
    emotion and great riding pleasure. </strong></p>
<p>Manufactured at the BMW Group plant in Berlin, the birthplace of BMW
  motorcycles, the BMW CE 04 is packed with innovative technologies,
  particularly in terms of its drive and control systems, for which the
  BMW Group has filed several patent applications. With its electric
  drive, forward-looking design and innovative connectivity solutions,
  this scooter merges transport and communication functions and promises
  a great riding experience.</p>
<p>
  <strong>Plenty of power and ample range for supreme riding in the city
    and in urban areas.</strong></p>
<p>With a maximum output of 31 kW (42 hp), the BMW CE 04 has a powerful
  motor and offers outstanding riding pleasure. For the classic “traffic
  light start” discipline from <br clear="all" />0 to 50 km/h, it takes
  just fast 2.6 seconds. Even in the reduced output L3e-A1 vehicle
  class, 23 kW (31 hp) drive power is available. The maximum speed of
  both versions is <br clear="all" />120 km/h – for speedy progress not
  just in the city but on main roads and motorway sections, too.</p>
<p>The BMW CE 04 has an ample battery cell capacity of 60.6 Ah (8.9
  kWh), providing a range of some 130 kilometres (reduced output
  version: 100 km). This enables day-to-day emission-free riding in the
  city, in an urban setting and for smaller-scale fun tours after work
  or at the weekend – with complete peace of mind.</p>
<p>
  <strong>Innovative electric drive with liquid-cooled electric motor.</strong></p>
<p>The BMW CE 04 has a permanent magnet electric motor mounted in the
  frame between the battery and the rear wheel, as used in a similar
  form in BMW cars such as the <br clear="all" />225xe Active
  Tourer. BMW Motorrad conducted extensive riding tests to develop a
  specific type of recuperation for each riding mode, giving the rider a
  high-level convenience. This means that optimum performance and riding
  characteristics are available in every situation on the road.</p>
<p>
  <strong>Short charging times and charging technology based</strong>
  <strong> on the system used in cars.</strong></p>
<p>The lithium-ion battery is charged using the integrated charging
  device either at a regular household socket, a wallbox or a public
  charging station. When the battery is completely flat, charging time
  ideally lasts 4 hours and 20 minutes. With the quick charger available
  as an optional extra with an output of up to 6.9 kW (2.3 kW is the
  standard level), charging time is reduced to just 1 hour and 40
  minutes when the battery is completely flat. If the battery level is
  only 20 per cent and the battery is charged to 80 per cent, the
  charging time is reduced to just 45 minutes with the optional quick
  charger. Depending on the market, the standard charging cable with a
  charging capacity of 2.3 kW comes as standard with the BMW CE 04.</p>
<p>A Mode 3 charging cable is required for fast charging at the wallbox
  at home or at a public charging station. In the same way as with BMW
  automobiles, BMW Charging solutions are available for the BMW CE 04,
  too – for maximum flexibility based on numerous customised programmes
  for charging at home, on the road and at work.</p>
<p>
  <strong>Increased riding stability through slip control by means of
    ASC (Automatic Stability Control). DTC (Dynamic Traction Control) as
    an ex works option.</strong></p>
<p>Similar to the ASC system found on BMW motorcycles with combustion
  engines, this traction control system is also available on the BMW CE
  04. ASC limits the engine torque depending on the rear wheel slip.
  DTC, which is available as an option, provides even greater riding
  safety. DTC enables even more efficient and safe acceleration,
  especially in banking position.</p>
<p>
  <strong>Three riding modes "ECO", "RAIN" and
    "ROAD" for efficient, everyday use as standard. “DYNAMIC”
    riding mode for further enhanced riding pleasure as an ex works option</strong>.</p>
<p>In developing the BMW CE 04, BMW Motorrad attached particular
  importance to providing opportunities for the rider to make an
  individual choice between maximum efficiency and maximum riding fun.
  Accordingly, the new BMW CE 04 features the three riding modes “ECO”,
  “RAIN” and “ROAD” as standard. The additional “DYNAMIC” riding mode is
  also available as an ex works option, enabling the scooter to
  accelerate at an even swifter pace.</p>
<p>
  <strong>Directionally stable suspension with one-piece tubular steel
    main frame for smooth handling and a high level of ride comfort</strong>.</p>
<p>The main frame is a tubular steel construction. The front wheel is
  controlled by a telescopic fork with a slider tube diameter of 35 mm.
  Rear wheel control consists of a single-sided swing arm. At the rear,
  suspension and damping are performed by a directly controlled, fully
  covered spring strut. The BMW CE 04 is fitted with generously sized
  tyres, with 120/70 R15 67H at the front and 160/60 R15 56H at the rear.</p>
<p>
  <strong>Powerful brake system with latest-generation ABS. ABS Pro with
    banking capability as an ex works option.</strong></p>
<p>At the front, a twin disc brake ensures secure deceleration,
  supported by a single-disc system at the rear. In addition, BMW
  Motorrad ABS ensures a high level of active safety. ABS Pro, available
  as an optional extra, goes even further: By means of a banking sensor,
  ABS Pro also controls braking on bends, thereby offering the greatest
  possible safety.</p>
<p>
  <strong>10.25” TFT colour screen with integrated map navigation for
    convenient route planning and extensive connectivity as standard.</strong></p>
<p>The BMW CE 04 comes fitted as standard with a 10.25-inch TFT colour
  screen with integrated map navigation and connectivity. Its excellent
  readability, clear menu navigation and highly integrated operating
  concept put the BMW CE 04 at the top of the scooter segment. For the
  first time, the new 10.25-inch colour screen makes it possible to
  display a navigation map in the instrument cluster, so no additional
  display is needed.</p>
<p>
  <strong>Powerful LED lighting units all round. Adaptive Headlight Pro
    and light functions as ex works options.</strong></p>
<p>The lighting units on the BMW CE 04 are based on state-of-the-art LED
  technology. They include a headlamp for high beam and low beam at the
  front. In addition to a rear light featuring LED technology, there are
  also LED turn indicators. The indicator lamps likewise use LED
  technology. Even greater safety at night is offered by the adaptive
  turning light Headlight Pro, available as an ex works option. Here,
  the rider benefits from further improved illumination of the road when
  cornering for even safer riding at night. Special light functions such
  as “Welcome” and “Good Bye” are also available as ex works options.</p>
<p>
  <strong>Future-oriented design and colour scheme.</strong></p>
<p>The BMW CE 04's design embodies a forward-looking form of urban
  two-wheel mobility and uses an innovative design language that evokes
  emotion for this drive technology, immediately identifying it as part
  of the BMW Motorrad family. The modern surface treatment is
  impressively presented in Lightwhite non-metallic and is complemented
  by matt black sections in the front and side areas, as well as the
  “floating” seat. There are also pioneering wheels designed to look
  like disc wheels (solid wheels) and a side stand integrated into the design.</p>
<p>
  <br />
  <strong>The highlights of the BMW CE 04:</strong></p>
<ul>
  <li>Nominal continuous output 15 kW (20 hp). Maximum output 31 kW (42
    hp). Low-power version: 11 kW (15 hp) or 23 kW (31 hp).</li>
  <li>High cell capacity of the battery with 60.6 Ah (8.9 kWh).</li>

  <strong>Munich.</strong> With the BMW C 400 GT and BMW C 400 X, BMW
  Motorrad offers two premium vehicles for the mid-size scooter segment.
  In the area of urban mobility, the BMW C 400 X stands out with
  emphasized dynamic characteristics, while the BMW C 400 GT, a Gran
  Turismo version suitable for touring, impresses with an increased
  range of comfort. BMW Motorrad has now sharpened the two mid-size
  scooters and, in addition to technical improvements, has also provided
  them with new features, colors and accessories.</p>
<p>
  <strong>Powerful single-cylinder drive with EU-5+ homologation and ABS
    Pro with DBC, DTC and MSR as standard.<br /></strong>The powerdrive
  remains the proven single-cylinder engine with an output of 25 kW (34
  hp) at 7,500 rpm and a maximum torque of 35 Nm at 5,750 rpm. Power is
  transmitted via a continuously variable CVT transmission and a
  powerset swing arm with high torsional rigidity. Thanks to the latest
  EU-5+ homologation, the new BMW C 400 X and<br />BMW C 400 GT remain
  ideal partners for dynamic, carefree scooter fun.</p>
<p>Both the BMW C 400 X and BMW C 400 GT are equipped with BMW Motorrad
  ABS Pro as standard. Thanks to ABS-assisted braking at a lean angle,
  it offers more safety even when braking in a corner. ABS Pro prevents
  the wheels from locking even when the brake lever is pressed quickly
  and reduces abrupt changes in steering force, thus the unwanted
  raising of the vehicle even during shock braking.</p>
<p>In addition, the Dynamic Brake Control (DBC) function linked to the
  ABS Pro offers a very sensitive response and high braking and driving
  stability with the best possible deceleration even when cornering. As
  soon as the sensor box delivers a certain deceleration value during
  braking, a simultaneous acceleration request by the driver is
  identified as implausible and the throttle valve is prevented from
  opening. As a result, the vehicle remains stable and the braking
  distance is reduced. If a defined deceleration force is reached, the
  hazard lights automatically switch on.</p>
<p>Dynamic Traction Control (DTC) and Engine Drag Torque Control (MSR)
  are also already on board as standard. DTC offers even more safety
  when accelerating — even at a lean angle and especially in slippery
  road conditions. With MSR, unstable riding conditions that can occur
  during coasting or abrupt throttle reduction causing excessive brake
  slip on the rear wheel (slipping or stamping) can be safely avoided.
  In these cases, MSR opens the throttle valves so far as to equalize
  the drag torque and stabilize the vehicle.</p>
<p>
  <strong>Connectivity — outstanding variety of information and
    functionality in the form of a large, perfectly readable 6.5-inch
    TFT display as standard. Navigation preparation for both models and
    a 10.25” display for the BMW C 400 GT as factory optional
  equipment.<br /></strong>The BMW C 400 X and BMW C 400 GT now come
  with a large 6.5-inch TFT display as standard. The variety of
  information, display quality and, last but not least, user
  friendliness are unmatched. In conjunction with the BMW Motorrad
  Connected app, the display is linked to the multi-controller on the
  left handlebar assembly and can be operated quickly, safely and
  conveniently. As part of the Connectivity Pro option, the<br />BMW C
  400 GT can also be equipped with a large 10.25” display.</p>
<p>Convenient calling, listening to music and navigating while riding
  are also possible. If, for example, a smartphone and helmet are
  connected to the BMW Motorrad communication system via Bluetooth,
  media playback and telephone functions can be easily accessed using
  the TFT-display. These functions can be used without installing an
  app. If there is an active Bluetooth connection to a standard
  smartphone, the rider can enjoy listening to music while riding and
  charge the smartphone in the actively cooled storage compartment. In
  addition, the free BMW Motorrad Connected app offers practical arrow
  navigation directly via the TFT display.</p>
<p>This basic navigation is particularly attractive for riders who want
  to comfortably handle everyday traffic or short trips without
  additional equipment. Navigation preparation with a holder for the BMW
  Motorrad Connected Ride Navigator or the BMW Motorrad Connected Ride
  Cradle is now also available as factory-fitted equipment (not in
  conjunction with the 10.25” display).</p>
<p>
  <strong>Expanded commuting offering with more storage space. New
    accessories such as 43.5 l top case, body protector and hand
  guard.<br /></strong>The BMW C 400 X and BMW C 400 GT now have more
  storage space under the seat allowing to store even more luggage. With
  the BMW C 400 X the storage volume increased by 3 liters, with the BMW
  C 400 GT, including the front pockets, by as much as 12 liters. The
  BMW C 400 GT now comes with a manually adjustable windshield as
  standard and can be factory-fitted with a luggage rack as part of the
  optional equipment.</p>
<p>With 43.5 l of storage space, the new top case not only offers 13.5 l
  more volume than before, but also 10 kg instead of the previous 5 kg
  payload. It also has electrification in the form of interior lighting
  and a USB charging port. A back cushion and painted side panels are
  also available as options for the new top case. It is attached to the
  vehicle via a vibration-decoupled luggage rack. New original BMW
  Motorrad accessories, such as body protectors and hand guards, round
  off the range of offers.</p>
<p>
  <strong>BMW C 400 X with new front design and new “Rugged” model
    variant as optional equipment ex-factory.<br /></strong>In addition
  to the basic Blackstorm metallic version with a black/grey seat, black
  rims and brake calipers at the front, the BMW C 400 X, equipped with a
  new and more dynamically designed front area, is also available in the
  new “Rugged” model variant.</p>
<p>In this version, the BMW C 400 X features the Kalamata metallic matt
  body color and appears exciting and dynamic at the same time. Red
  rims, tapes and tires with off-road design meet golden brake calipers
  at the front. A heavily tinted windshield, a red-black seat bench,
  stainless steel footboard inserts, and hand guards available as an
  optional accessory complete the robust look. The footboard inserts, as
  well as anodized handlebar end weights, are available as original BMW
  Motorrad accessories for both the<br />BMW C 400 X and BMW C 400 GT.</p>
<p>
  <strong>BMW C 400 GT with optimized ground accessibility and in the
    new “Exclusive” model variant as optional equipment
  ex-factory.<br /></strong>The BMW C 400 GT's ground accessibility has
  been optimised to provide even greater comfort and improved ergonomics.</p>
<p>In addition to the basic Blackstorm metallic version with black seat,
  black rims and black brake calipers at the front, the BMW C 400 GT is
  also available in the new “Exclusive” model variant.</p>
<p>In this variant, the BMW C 400 GT in the body color Diamondwhite
  metallic looks decidedly elegant and exclusive. Golden rims, tapes and
  a black seat bench with embroidered emblem in the rim color complement
  the golden brake calipers at the front and a slightly tinted
  windshield. A floor lighting with a BMW logo projection and stainless
  steel footboard inserts round off the scope of this optional equipment variant.</p>

  <strong>Munich/Graz/Salzburg.</strong> While the international
  customizing scene around BMW Motorrad focuses primarily on the BMW
  Motorrad Heritage models BMW R 18 and <br />BMW R 12 nineT with
  inspiring creativity, high levels of craftsmanship and new ideas,
  Austria has now developed an extraordinary project based on the BMW CE
  02. In collaboration with BMW Motorrad Austria in Salzburg, the Design
  & Makers Studio VAGABUND in Graz created the BMW CE 02 x VAGABUND
  — a stylish eParkourer based on the BMW CE 02 for urban areas. <br />
  <br />“We were immediately in love when we saw the CE 02 for the first
  time at the BMW Motorrad Days in Berlin. The overall design of the CE
  02 was simply a “perfect match” for us, as we at VAGABUND are always
  trying to break new ground and reinterpret existing products in our
  own way. In this project, we would define the general design approach
  as a “retro-future.” We tried to combine the very futuristic original
  design with some retro vibes and thus give the viewer a familiar
  feeling,” Paul Brauchart, founder and managing director of Vagabund
  Moto GmbH, explains the philosophy behind the project. <br /> <br />
  <strong>Futuristic design meets retro vibes.<br /></strong>The custom
  bike Made in Austria not only impresses with its unique, futuristic
  design, but also with various functional “retro” elements, which were
  designed in a modern, fresh way and with a focus on a young target
  group. For example, the musical integration of the “OB-4 Magic Radio”
  from “Teenage Engineering” underlines the young and creative
  philosophy of custom bikes. The “electric exhaust” serves as a
  practical style element and visual highlight. This offers space for an
  umbrella. Design elements such as the running board with skateboard
  grip tape reflect the sporty, urban eParkourer style. <br />
  <br />BMW Motorrad and VAGABUND create another absolute eye-catcher
  with the custom bike's 3.6 meter high packaging. This is part of the
  overall concept.<br />

  <strong>Urban freedom<br />
    <br /></strong>“It's early in the morning. The city is awakening. On
  the way to my garage I breathe in the still cool air. I wear a
  casually cut parka that’s both fashionable and functional at the same
  time. The protectors are inconspicuous but give me a sense of
  security. I’m ready for the day to start.<br />
  <br />My BMW CE 04 is in the garage. I am thrilled by its futuristic
  design style. The low position of the battery gives the scooter an
  entirely new geometry – a complete departure from previous
  conventions. I’m glad to see it again. It’s a great feeling – every day.<br />
  <br />
  <strong>For me, it’s the symbol of a new era – the era of the silent revolution.<br />
    <br /></strong>The first birds are chirping, the urban jungle is
  awakening. The sounds of the city begin to swell. Everything is set in
  motion. People move – with each other and in parallel. Paths cross.<br />
  <br />What will the new day bring? Tapas with friends at the little
  bar by the river? Or the exhibition at the modern art museum? First of
  all there are appointments at the office. Workshops, meetings,
  customer visits. This is what life feels like.<br />
  <br />I pair my smartphone with the scooter, and with a flick of my
  wrist I activate the parka. Its LEDs light up. I’m quiet, but I want
  to be seen. It’s all so simple and smooth.<br />
  <br />We’re off again at last. Even when I was having my breakfast, I
  couldn’t wait. Not even the birds notice me. I glide almost silently
  through my neighbourhood. I’m a part of the city again.<br />
  <br />People start to look at me at the traffic lights. My sitting
  position is upright, relaxed. A new message flashes on the display, my
  smartphone is charging in the storage compartment.<br />
  <br />Green light. With the scooter’s torque, I can float away ahead
  of the rest. I’m a rocket. But a silent one.<br />
  <br />I feel as if I was on the Bonanza bike back in the day – cool
  and superior, but now connected to the world and one step ahead.
  Technology and style. Is this freedom? Yes – only better. No traffic
  jams, no having to search for a parking space. For me, it’s all time I save.<br />
  <br />Acceleration, speed, bends – the BMW CE 04 doesn’t just master
  them, it redefines them. I glide through the traffic – the seat itself
  seems to float. It feels just right. Surfing bends is superbly
  enjoyable. Pure fun, from wave to wave.<br />
  <br />The evening was beautiful, down by the river. We laughed a lot.
  The city motorway doesn’t forgive mistakes – my scooter sprints away
  and my parka glows in the dark of night. I’m clearly visible and
  arrive safely at my destination. Quietly, I glide into the driveway to
  my garage, again almost unnoticed by the birds. Good night, my city.
  We’ll be in touch.”</p>
<p>
  <br />
  <strong>“The BMW CE 04 is our new electric star for the city. It
    combines an e-drive with emotion and motorcycling fun. The latest
    technology, and the best battery cells, which also provide power in
    the BMW iX. Just like the CE 04, all future new BMW Motorrad models
    for urban mobility will be pure electric.”</strong>
  <br />
  <strong>Oliver Zipse, CEO of BMW AG.<br />
    <br />The new BMW CE 04 – the silent revolution: A new chapter in
    electrically powered urban two-wheel mobility.</strong>
  <br />
  <br />With the new BMW CE 04, BMW Motorrad continues to consistently
  pursue its electromobility strategy for urban conurbations. As the
  final series production vehicle of the BMW Motorrad Concept Link
  originally showcased in 2017 and the near-series BMW Motorrad
  Definition CE 04 unveiled in 2020, the BMW CE 04 opens up a whole new
  chapter in two-wheel urban mobility. With its electric drive,
  forward-looking design and innovative connectivity solutions, the new
  scooter merges transport and communication functions for a new brand
  of mobility in the urban environment.<br />
  <br />
  <strong>Plenty of power and ample range for supreme riding in the city
    and in urban areas.<br />
    <br /></strong>With a maximum output of 31 kW (42 hp), the new BMW
  CE 04 has a powerful motor and offers outstanding riding pleasure. For
  the classic “traffic light start” discipline from 0 to 50 km/h, it
  takes just fast 2.6 seconds. Even in the reduced output L3e-A1 vehicle
  class, 23 kW (31 hp) drive power is available. The maximum speed of
  both versions is 120 km/h – for speedy progress not just in the city
  but on main roads and motorway sections, too.<br />
  <br />The new BMW CE 04 has an ample battery cell capacity of 60.6 Ah
  (8.9 kWh), providing a range of some 130 kilometres (reduced output
  version: 100 km). This enables day-to-day emission-free riding in the
  city, in an urban setting and for smaller-scale fun tours after work
  or at the weekend – with complete peace of mind.<br />
  <br />
  <strong>Innovative electric drive with liquid-cooled electric motor.<br />
    <br /></strong>The new BMW CE 04 has a permanent magnet electric
  motor mounted in the frame between the battery and the rear wheel, as
  used in a similar form in BMW cars such as the 225xe Active Tourer.
  BMW Motorrad conducted extensive riding tests to develop a specific
  type of recuperation for each riding mode, giving the rider a
  high-level convenience. This means that optimum performance and riding
  characteristics are available in every situation on the road.<br />
  <br />
  <strong>Short charging times and charging technology based on the
    system used in cars</strong>.<br />
  <br />The lithium-ion battery is charged using the integrated charging
  device either at a regular household socket, a wallbox or a public
  charging station.
If the battery level is
  only 20 per cent and the battery is charged to 80 per cent, the
  charging time is reduced to just 45 minutes with the optional quick
  charger. Depending on the market, the standard charging cable with a
  charging capacity of 2.3 kW comes as standard with the BMW CE 04.<br />
  <br />A Mode 3 charging cable is required for fast charging at the
  wallbox at home or at a public charging station. In the same way as
  with BMW automobiles, BMW Charging solutions are available for the BMW
  CE 04, too – for maximum flexibility based on numerous customised
  programmes for charging at home, on the road and at work.<br />
  <br />
  <strong>Increased riding stability through slip control by means of
    ASC (Automatic Stability Control). DTC (Dynamic Traction Control) as
    an ex works option.<br />
    <br /></strong>This traction control system is available on the new
  BMW CE 04, comparable to the Automatic Stability Control in BMW
  motorcycles with combustion engine. ASC limits engine torque in
  relation to rear wheel slip. Dynamic Traction Control (DTC), available
  as an optional extra, provides even greater riding safety. DTC enables
  even more safe acceleration, especially in banking position.<br />
  <br />
  <strong>Three riding modes “ECO”, “Rain” and “Road” for efficient,
    day-to-day use as standard. “Dynamic” riding mode for further
    enhanced riding pleasure as an ex works option.</strong>
  <br />
  <br />In developing the BMW CE 04, BMW Motorrad attached particular
  importance to providing opportunities for the rider to make an
  individual choice between maximum efficiency and maximum riding fun.
  Accordingly, the new BMW CE 04 features the three riding modes “ECO”,
  “Rain” and “Road” as standard. The additional “Dynamic” riding mode is
  also available as an ex works option, enabling the scooter to
  accelerate at an even swifter pace.<br />
  <br />
  <strong>Directionally stable suspension with one-piece tubular steel
    main frame for smooth handling and a high level of ride comfort.</strong>
  <br />
  <br />The main frame is a tubular steel construction. The front wheel
  is controlled by a telescopic fork with a slider tube diameter of 35
  mm. Rear wheel control consists of a single-sided swing arm. At the
  rear, suspension and damping are performed by a directly controlled,
  fully covered spring strut. The new BMW CE 04 is fitted with
  generously sized tyres, with 120/70 R15 67H at the front and 160/60
  R15 56H at the rear.<br />
  <br />
  <strong>Powerful brake system with latest-generation ABS. ABS Pro with
    banking capability as an ex works option.<br />
    <br /></strong>At the front, a twin disc brake ensures secure
  deceleration, supported by a single-disc system at the rear. In
  addition, BMW Motorrad ABS ensures a high level of active safety. ABS
  Pro, available as an optional extra, goes even further: By means of a
  banking sensor, ABS Pro also controls braking on bends, thereby
  offering the greatest possible safety.<br />
  <br />
  <strong>10.25” TFT colour screen with integrated map navigation for
    convenient route planning and extensive connectivity as standard.<br />
    <br /></strong>The new BMW CE 04 comes fitted as standard with a
  10.25-inch TFT colour screen with integrated map navigation and
  connectivity. Its excellent readability, clear menu navigation and
  highly integrated operating concept put the new BMW CE 04 at the top
  of the scooter segment. For the first time, the new 10.25-inch colour
  screen makes it possible to display a navigation map in the instrument
  cluster, so no additional display is needed.<br />
  <br />
  <strong>Powerful LED lighting units all round. Adaptive Headlight Pro
    and light functions as ex works options.<br />
    <br /></strong>The lighting units on the new BMW CE 04 are based on
  state-of-the-art LED technology. They include a headlamp for high beam
  and low beam at the front. In addition to a rear light featuring LED
  technology, there are also LED turn indicators. The indicator lamps
  likewise use LED technology. Even greater safety at night is offered
  by the adaptive turning light Headlight Pro, available as an ex works
  option. Here, the rider benefits from further improved illumination of
  the road when cornering for even safer riding at night. Special light
  functions such as “Welcome” and “Good Bye” are also available as ex
  works options.<br />
  <br />
  <strong>Future-oriented design and colour scheme.<br />
    <br /></strong>The new BMW CE 04 embodies a new, forward-looking
  form of urban two-wheeled mobility in its design as well, featuring an
  innovative style that arouses emotions for this new drive technology
  while instantly identifying the scooter as a member of the BMW
  Motorrad family. The modern surface finish is in a striking Light
  White, complemented by matt black sections in the front and side areas
  as well as the “floating” seat. In addition, there are trend-setting
  wheels (solid wheels) featuring a disc-wheel look and a side stand
  that is integrated in the design styling. The new BMW CE 04 in
  Avantgarde Style (ex works option) is a striking, colourful statement
  of contemporary urban mobility. In this style, the colour Magellan
  Grey metallic is supplemented with a black/orange seat, an orange wind
  deflector and various graphics.<br />
  <br />
  <strong>“The new BMW CE 04 is the logical and at the same time
    rethought continuation of BMW Motorrad’s electromobility strategy.
    Urban conurbations are its element. This is where it sets a new
    benchmark – in terms of both technology and visual style.” Florian
    Roemhild, Project Manager BMW CE 04.</strong>
  <br />

  <strong>Munich.</strong> Model year 2019 sees a number of model
  revision measures included in the BMW Motorrad program. The models can
  be ordered from all BMW Motorrad partners in the new configuration
  from August 2018.<br />
  <br />
  <strong>New comfort turn indicators for increased user-friendliness
    and safety as standard.</strong>
  <br /> As a general measure as part of the model revision, comfort
  turn indicators will be included in the standard trim of most BMW
  Motorrad models from model year 2019 onwards (exceptions: C 650 Sport,
  C 650 GT, G 310 GS, G 310 R, F 800 R, F 800 GT, S 1000 RR and S 1000
  R). Depending on road speed, various reset conditions apply with the
  new comfort turn indicators; previously turn indicator deactivation
  was based on a fixed time or distance.<br />
  <br />
  <strong>BMW Motorrad Connectivity.</strong>
  <br />The <strong>BMW Motorrad Connected app</strong> will receive a
  major update to version 1.6. The app will then offer additional
  functions and enhancements that were proposed by the BMW Motorrad
  community. The digital maps will be completely revised and will be
  based on the motorcycle optimized navigation by TomTom. As one of the
  most requested features, the navigation option “winding route” will be
  introduced. To use the new functions, the customer only needs to
  update the app in the beginning of August and download the new maps
  free of charge before starting the next ride.<br />

  <strong>Munich.</strong> Navigating, telephoning, enjoying music and
  much more else – the skills of modern smartphones are multiple and
  right made for turning out motorcycling and scootering even more
  comfortable and eventful. For this reason BMW Motorrad has designed a
  smartphone cradle being able to fasten smartphones up to a size of 5
  inches quickly and safely to the handlebar clamps for optimum rider’s
  readability and handling. Alternatively in horizontal or upright
  format – right as the rider likes. Mounting the smartphone cradle
  works by using the BMW Motorrad Navigator V’s holder (special
  accessory, not part of the scope of delivery).</p>
<p>Installed in a robust plastic hardcase the smartphone is not only
  perfectly protected against dust and water, but offers best possible
  readability, too, thanks to an antireflection flex foil see-through
  vision panel. Power supply is made by the onboard socket (special
  accessory). Charging is done via micro-USB or – if available – the
  wireless way according to Qi standards. In this connection the
  necessary energy transmission is done by electromagnetic induction. A
  light-emitting diode informs about the charging state.</p>
<p>An anti-slip, vibration and shock impeding gel pad shelf ensures a
  safe and careful installation as well as warmth draining for the
  smartphone while riding.</p>
<p>The new BMW Motorrad smartphone cradle is likely to be available at
  the second quarter 2016. The price is going to be announced later.</p>

    <strong>Donington</strong></span>
  <span>
    <strong>, 25 August 2015.</strong></span>
  <span>BMW will be lining up for the FIA Formula E Championship once
    again in </span>
  <span>2015/16</span>
  <span>. </span>
  <span>The second season of the race series gets underway </span>in
  Beijing <span>on 17 October 2015</span>, and BMW will be on hand as
  the Official Vehicle Partner<span>. </span></p>
<p>The futuristic BMW i8 sports car (fuel consumption combined:
  2.1 l/100 km / 134.5 mpg imp; CO2 emissions combined: 49 g/km) will
  once again see action as the Safety Car in the trailblazing race
  series for electrically-powered formula machines. And the all-electric
  (and therefore emission-free) BMW i3 (energy consumption combined:
  12.9 kWh; CO2 emissions combined: 0 g/km) will perform the role of
  Medical Car, as it did in the series’ inaugural season. Added to
  which, <span>a pair of BMW C evolution electric scooters and a
    BMW X5 xDrive40e plug-in hybrid </span>(fuel consumption combined:
  3.4–3.3 l/100 km / 83.1–85.6 mpg imp; CO2 emissions combined:
  78–77 g/km; figures based on the EU test cycle, may vary depending on
  the tyre format specified) <span>will be making their Formula E
    debuts, as models from other BMW Group brands join the BMW i cars in
    the eDrive family</span>
  <span>.</span></p>
<p>“BMW i and Formula E make a great match,” said Jörg Reimann, Vice
  President BMW Brand Experience<span>. “T</span>he world governing body
  of motor sport, the FIA, is branching out in a new and extremely
  interesting direction with the FIA Formula E Championship – and we
  have been on board from the outset. The series got off to a highly
  successful start in its first year on the calendar, with its
  all-electric formula racing cars, tight street circuits running
  through the heart of major world cities and innovative ideas engaging
  fans via social networks. BMW has been involved in Formula E from the
  word go. It signed up as the Official Vehicle Partner to supply the
  BMW i8 Safety Car and BMW i3 Medical Car. And this commitment has
  given the company a platform on which to press its claim as a leader
  in electric mobility<span>. </span>We’ve succeeded in bringing the
  driving pleasure for which BMW is renowned to the attention of
  millions of people in major cities around the world. The ball is very
  much rolling now; in 2014 <span>and 2015 </span>we laid the
  foundations for a successful partnership, and it’s one which will
  continue into the second season of the championship in <span>2015/2016.”</span></p>
<p>
  <span>Formula E will become an “open” championship in its second
    season. Compared with the inaugural edition of the series, in which
    all the cars were technically identical, eight of the ten teams will
    line up for the new season with their own technology. The technical
    changes will be concentrated on the powertrain – specifically the
    electric motor, the inverter, the transmission and the cooling
    system – and see the cars differing in terms of speeds, soundtrack
    and, above all, efficiency levels over the race distance.</span></p>
<p>
  <span>The </span>
  <span>2014/15 </span>
  <span>Formula E calendar featured e</span>
  <span>leven races in ten countries</span>
  <span>on three continents. </span>
  <span>Ten teams took their places on the grid for that opening season,
    each with two drivers at the wheel of standardised cars</span>
  <span>. Nelson Piquet Jr. wrapped up the title in the final race in
    London – and duly took his place in the history books as the first
    ever champion in this new series.</span></p>
<p>
  <span>The new season will begin on 17 October 2015 and again take in
    eleven races in ten countries.</span></p>

  <span>
    <strong>BMW i8.</strong></span></p>
<p>
  <span>The BMW i8 is the most progressive sports car of our times and,
    by combining the performance and appeal of a sports car with small
    car fuel economy, created a new segment as the first sustainable
    sports car. It offers zero-emission driving in town (eDrive) and
    efficient sports car performance out of town, where a highly
    turbocharged and efficient 1.5-litre petrol engine with BMW
    TwinPower Turbo technology also comes into play. </span></p>
<p>
  <span>With its revolutionary vehicle concept – which brings together a
    carbon-fibre passenger cell, aluminium chassis and benchmark
    aerodynamics for its segment (Cd: 0.26) – the BMW i8 represents the
    company’s technological cutting edge.</span></p>
<p>
  <span>The BMW i8 will continue as the Official FIA Formula E Qualcomm
    Safety Car through the second season of Formula E. The modifications
    to the two new Safety Cars are far more performance-oriented and
    they have been adapted to meet the FIA’s technical regulations ahead
    of the new season, which gets underway in Beijing on 17 October. </span></p>
<p>
  <span>The new BMW i8 Safety Car is the world’s first vehicle equipped
    for inductive charging with 7.2 kilowatts of power using
  </span>Qualcomm Halo™ <span>prototype technology</span>

<p>
	<strong>Munich.</strong>
	Individual mobility is increasingly defined
	in terms of sustainability. The BMW Group has taken on the challenges
	of a rapidly changing world and is now developing serial production
	solutions to meet the mobility needs of the future. As an integrated
	part of the BMW Group, BMW Motorrad is also addressing issues of
	individual single-track mobility and future customer needs. In this
	connection, BMW Motorrad is expanding its business activities to
	include a new facet: that of "Urban Mobility".

</p>
<p>Building on almost 90 years of experienced in the field of motorised
  two-wheel vehicles, BMW Motorrad is drawing on the conceptual benefits
  of single-track vehicles to develop innovative solutions, adding a new
  dimension to the area of urban commuting.
</p>
<p>Before the end of this year, BMW Motorrad will establish its new
	<br />

	"Urban Mobility" area with two premium vehicles in
	the maxi scooter segment. The BMW maxi scooters combine the
	functionality of a scooter with the riding pleasure of a motorcycle.
	Both vehicles are powered by high-performance and efficient
	2-cylinder combustion engines.

</p>
<p>Based on the BMW Group's sustainability strategy, BMW Motorrad aims
  to put a premium offer on the market in the area of electromobility in
  the foreseeable future. At the Frankfurt International Motor Show
  (IAA), BMW will be presenting its design concept in this area for the
  first time: "BMW Concept e".
</p>
<p> </p>
<p>
	<strong>Visionary design for a new drive concept.</strong>
</p>
<p>The design study BMW Concept e embodies the vision of an electrically
  powered scooter made by BMW Motorrad. Increasing limitations in
  traffic space, growing traffic density as well as both ecological and
  economical challenges give rise to new demands in the area of private
  transport in the major conurbation areas in particular. An e-scooter
  with sustainable technological solutions and the aesthetic design of
  the Concept e provides a response to these changing urban mobility
  needs.
</p>
<p>At the IAA in Frankfurt, BMW i presents visionary vehicles which
  are individually tailored to their respective purpose - the
  BMW i3 Concept and the
	<br />

	BMW i8 Concept. They have a
	completely new "LifeDrive Architecture" specially developed
	for electrical drive and radically different from conventional vehicle
	construction. With its fascinating overall concept, the BMW i8
	Concept with plug-in hybrid drive is the vision of a sustainable
	sports car come true. The BMW i3 Concept is the automobile
	with consistently sustainable design, conceived specifically for an
	urban setting.

</p>
<p>With its Concept e, BMW Motorrad shows how attractive and fascinating
  the interpretation of the theme of electrical drive on two wheels can
  be in terms of design, while at the same time attracting attention to
  its new business area "Urban Mobility".
</p>
<p> </p>
<p>
	<strong>Concept e - a vision with a future.</strong>
</p>
<p>The Concept e is a vision: BMW Motorrad designers have developed the
  style and shaping of the e-scooter of the future - electric, digital,
  dynamic. The designers deliberately allowed themselves plenty of
  freedom so as to be able to strike out new, creative paths in the
  design of components and surfaces.
</p>
<p>The shaping and precision achieved reflect the core values of BMW
  Motorrad: emotion, dynamic performance and innovation. At the same
  time, the purist, clear design, colouring and choice of materials
  instantly suggest a clean, efficient yet agile single-track vehicle
  which allows one to move effortlessly through city traffic.
</p>
<p>So the design concept study Concept e is more than just an idea for a
  new vehicle. In addition to technical functionality and quality, the
  BMW Motorrad designers attach importance to an emotional dialogue
  between rider and vehicle. Their basic premise is that a vehicle has
  to do more than just function - it has to arouse the rider's emotions,
  too. It has to inspire the rider again and again, as well as reflect
  its specific technological features.
</p>
<p>So in the case of the Concept e, the main aim was to translate the
  special character of electric drive technology to the vehicle's
  outward appearance.
</p>
<p>The Concept e is the conceptual blueprint of a scooter able to set
  new standards with innovative premium electrical drive and provide a
  sound alternative form of mobility suitable for everyday use in the
  dense traffic of the constantly expanding conurbation areas and cities
  of the world today.
</p>
<p> </p>
<p>
	<strong>Hallmark BMW Motorrad design elements.</strong>
</p>
<p>The BMW Concept e is clearly identifiable as a member of the
	<br />

	BMW Motorrad family. As in other BMW motorcycles, the so-called split
	face runs from the upper trim section to above the front wheel cover,
	giving the Concept e an unmistakable, dynamic front view.

</p>
<p>The successful BMW Motorrad design style is also reflected in the
  styling of the twin-tipped spoiler in the floating panel of the front
  trim, a boomerang-shaped, aerodynamically formed floating panel. The
  short, sporty rear highlights the active riding character of the
  electrically powered scooter, giving it a visual sense of dynamic
  performance which is underscored by the low cut windshield.
</p>
<p> </p>
<p>
	<strong>Colour and material concept blends in with overall concept.</strong>
</p>
<p>The dynamic performance, fascination and especially the environmental
  compatibility of electrical mobility is reflected in the colour and
  material concept. The front and rear side trim sections finished in
  “Light white” generate a fascinating contrast with
  components such as the upper trim section in “Black chrome
  light” and side sills coated in “Black chrome dark”,
  thereby emphasising the scooter's technological features. The
  vehicle's overall impression of high quality is borne out by finely
  cut details in “Natural aluminium”, the
  asymmetrically designed, solid-milled holder for the front trim
  section and the central tunnel in “Textured steel”. The
  design of the light alloy wheels is derived from the styling of the
  BMW i automobiles.
</p>
<p>Made from acrylic glass and featuring a rear-set metal grid and
  "Concept e" lettering, the two side covers of the
  battery and drive unit in “Electric yellow” symbolise the
  technical character of an electrically powered scooter. In combination
  with other accentuations in “Electric yellow” such as the
  front trim section, the rear section and the hollow-bore wheel axle,
  these stand for the vehicle's specific properties of maximum
  environmental compatibility, supreme dynamic performance and easy
  handling. To match this, the charging socket is positioned in the
  front section of the central tunnel and features a transparent plastic
  cover.
</p>
<p>The Concept e highlights its visionary character by dispensing with
  conventional rear mirrors. Instead there are two video cameras
  integrated in the glass of the rear light cluster which clearly
  displays the situation on the road behind the rider on two LCD
  monitors installed in the cockpit. Speed and other relevant data is
  shown on a digital display in the cockpit which is reduced to the
  essentials.
</p>
<p> </p>
<p>
	<strong>Innovative technology in a future serial production vehicle.</strong>
</p>
<p>The later serial production vehicle will fully meet customer
  expectations of a single-track vehicle offering sustainable mobility.
  The special arrangement of all drive components and the design of the
  vehicle's geometry will allow agile handling typical of a scooter as
  well as a high degree of functionality.
</p>
<p>For the power electronics and battery technology, BMW Motorrad draws
  on the innovative e-technology and extensive expertise of the BMW
  Group.
	<br />

	BMW i high voltage technology (> 60 volts)
	with the very highest safety standards enables electrically powered
	vehicles to equal the acceleration rates of a maxi scooter with
	combustion engine. The generous storage capacity of the battery, an
	intelligent battery management system and efficient brake energy
	recuperation ensure a realistic range of 100 kilometres for everyday
	use. What is more, BMW Motorrad developers are aiming to achieve a
	continuous output and maximum speed which will enable safe overtaking
	on urban motorways when carrying a passenger.

</p>
<p>The battery is charged at regular household power sockets as found in
  Europe, the USA, Canada and Japan, There is no need for a special
  charging station. When the battery is completely flat, the charging
  period is less than three hours. Practical experience with concept
  vehicles has already shown that the battery rarely runs out
  completely, so charging times are generally shorter.
</p>
<p>In this way, the future serial production vehicle will provide a
  long-term,
	<br />

	zero-emissions city travel option which is
	suitable  for everyday use.
