Munich/Oxford. One MINI, one mission – and now a milestone: on 20 June 2026, a MINI Cooper D reached the 1,000,000 kilometres mark at Plant Oxford.

For the owner, Peter Kirchoff, this number is far more than just a statistic. It represents passion, commitment, and an extraordinary bond between him and his MINI.

Peter Kirchoff configured the car exactly to his personal preferences – precisely 30 years after his very first driving lesson. “Even though the vehicle was mainly intended for long-distance journeys, as a MINI fan there was never any other option for me.” Peter’s decision proved right: over the course of twelve years, the MINI became an exceptionally reliable companion both in everyday life and on long journeys across Europe.

From dream specification to long-distance legend.
The vehicle impressed with a remarkable combination of efficiency and durability. Speaking on the durability of his MINI, Peter stated, “My MINI has never let me down: the original engine, no major repairs, no accidents – and sensationally low fuel consumption of 2.56 litres. Qualities other long-distance drivers can only dream of.”

“Nemo” – a name with character.
The MINI was given a name early on - Nemo. The reason is as personal as it is easy to understand for anyone who sees the car. Peter had chosen Volcanic Orange paint with white bonnet stripes., Peter Kirchoff covered hundreds of thousands of kilometres with Nemo & has travelled through 25 countries, whilst turning the vehicle into the centerpiece of an extraordinary project.

The Project one M.
The concept of reaching one million was no coincidence, but part of a clear plan. The “The Project one M” began when the vehicle was delivered by Autohaus Schmidt in Hamm. It was designed to run over twelve years – and was pursued with consistency. Anyone following Peter’s Facebook profile can see the precision behind the project: driving data has been continuously documented, analysed, and shared transparently. The result is a milestone that was not only driven, but systematically achieved.

Oxford – the emotional destination.
The choice of destination to hit 1,000,000 km was deliberate: Oxford is the birthplace of the modern MINI and remains the heart of its production to this day. The first modern MINI rolled off the production line there on 26 April 2001.

From one goal to the next stage.
Reaching a million kilometers does not mark the end of the journey – Peter is already looking ahead. “Completing the Project one M is at the same time the start of the One Million Miles Project.” An ambitious goal – and one that perfectly matches the story of this British MINI.

And if Nemo should one day weaken?
That question has also crossed Peter’s mind – even if only in theory: “In the unlikely event that I do not make it to 1,000,000 miles, I will probably buy an Aceman JCW E.” A clear commitment to the evolution of the MINI brand.

A MINI for eternity.
Nemo’s story is an impressive demonstration of what MINI stands for: character, efficiency, and driving fun – even across extreme distances. We wish Peter Kirchoff all the best for the next steps and believe his MINI is more than capable of many more hundreds of thousands of kilometers.

Munich. MINI and Paul Smith bring together what defines both brands: iconic form, meticulous detailing, and the freedom to reinterpret classic design with unexpected twists. The MINI Paul Smith Edition translates the designer’s signature style into a distinctive edition for the MINI Cooper family—recognisable through characteristic accents both inside and out. The edition is now readily available for the MINI Cooper 3‑Door (electric and petrol), the MINI Cooper 5‑Door, and the MINI Cooper Convertible.

Details with a British twist

Three exterior colours are available for the edition, including two exclusives. Statement Grey reinterprets the 1959 Mini Austin Seven shade in a contemporary way - a clean grey with a subtle blue hue. Inspired White echoes the beloved beige of the classic Mini in a modern tone. Completing the palette is Midnight Black Metallic, an elegant black from the current MINI colour range.

Defining the look are striking contrasts between body, roof, and accent colours, combined with the signature Paul Smith stripes. Door mirrors, the radiator grille surround, and wheel hub caps stand out across all models in Nottingham Green - a nod to the British designer’s hometown.

Inside, the MINI Paul Smith Edition pairs British understatement with creative details. Vescin/knit upholstery in Nightshade Blue meets black knitted surfaces with subtle tone-on-tone stripes. A “Hello” projection when opening the door, the “Every day is a new beginning” inscription on the door sill, and the signature stripe textile element on the 6 o’clock spoke of the sport steering wheel add distinctive touches. A hand-drawn “Rabbit” graphic on the floor mat completes the characteristically British sense of humour.

Munich/Sydney. Australia is known not only for its vast open spaces, venomous snakes, kangaroos and Uluru, but also for major metropolitan centres like Melbourne and Sydney, both of which rank among the world’s leading cities. While Melbourne proudly shows off its modern edge, Sydney manages to embrace contemporary trends without losing sight of its past. British influences, in particular, are ever-present in the city centre of the 5.5‑million-strong metropolis – the perfect backdrop for an extended drive in the MINI Aceman SE.

Located on Australia’s east coast, Sydney is renowned for its exceptional quality of life, the iconic Harbour Bridge with views of the uniquely designed Sydney Opera House, and the gleaming white sands of Bondi Beach.

At just under 4.10 metres long, the MINI Aceman SE stands out among historic sandstone buildings and modern skyscrapers alike. That’s not only due to its striking Blazing Blue paintwork, but also because it has only been on sale in Australia since last year. It neatly complements the local MINI line-up alongside the MINI Cooper and MINI Countryman.

Cruising through the vibrant Darlinghurst neighbourhood, past Hyde Park and the historic barracks, and on towards The Rocks, it becomes clear just how deeply rooted British heritage still is in Sydney. The drive continues past the lush Royal Botanic Garden towards the Sydney Opera House – a familiar sight to many from New Year’s Eve broadcasts around the world. At midnight local time, the shell-shaped landmark sends images of the Harbour Bridge and the year’s first celebrations across the globe.

Sydney Harbour is lively and far more rugged than those of many other global cities. While countless ferries depart from Warrane Cove, another cruise ship is docking at The Squire’s Landing, bringing a fresh wave of visitors into the city. Each day, hundreds of passengers disembark from the mostly white giants of the sea and head into hotels to spend a few more days enjoying Sydney before continuing on to New Zealand or returning to Singapore.

Almost silently, the 160 kW / 218 hp MINI Aceman SE glides through Barangaroo and into the energetic shopping precinct around Market, Bathurst and Kent Streets, with views of the Queen Victoria Building and the charming Town Hall. The city’s many landmarks don’t just pass by outside – they’re also announced inside the car via the circular 24‑centimetre central display.

The compact crossover’s steering is light, impressively direct, and its low centre of gravity makes quick changes of direction genuinely fun. With a maximum torque of 330 Nm available from standstill, the MINI Aceman slots effortlessly into any gap in traffic. Heads turn outside cafés and boutiques not only because of the appealing design and near-silent progress, but also because this kind of car stands out in Sydney.

As Australia’s largest city, Sydney is dominated by big Utes and ruggedized SUVs fitted with winches, chunky tyres, radio antennas and extra lights – essential gear for the unforgiving outback. In the city, however, things are very different. Here, the front-wheel-drive layout, low centre of gravity and firm overall setup shine, delivering plenty of driving enjoyment.

The battery pack mounted in the floor offers a total range of up to 405 kilometres (WLTP). With plans to head out of Sydney into the surrounding region the next day, a full charge is on the agenda. Australia – even in its largest cities – can’t match Europe when it comes to charging infrastructure. Most EV owners charge at home, so there are only a handful of fast chargers available in car parks or at selected service stations.

A short charging stop is made more pleasant with a snack and an espresso before heading south again on the Warringah Freeway (M1) towards the Harbour Bridge. Passing through the ever-busy Chinatown district, the route continues over rougher roads towards the eastern side of the city via Oxford Street, Bondi Junction and Bondi, ending at one of the world’s most famous beaches: Bondi Beach – equally popular with locals and visitors from all over the globe.

City cruising has a positive effect on both efficiency and range, meaning the Aceman, with its 49.2 kWh usable battery capacity, can comfortably cover close to 400 kilometres before the next charge. Anyone planning a longer road trip along Australia’s east coast should not only keep an eye on the many speed cameras, but also be mindful of the sparse fast

charging network. At least heading north towards the Gold Coast, there’s little temptation to speed anyway – despite the country’s vast size and low population density, the limit is firmly set at 110 km/h.

Customers Down Under appreciate the MINI Aceman not just for its design and electric drive. For many, it’s the generous space and everyday practicality that matter most. The latest MINI offers more room than the MINI Cooper, without stepping into MINI Countryman territory in terms of size. And practical as the MINI Aceman SE may be, style certainly isn’t neglected. Comfortable seats with massage function, a head-up display and voice control all come as part of the package. Projectors, for example, cast distinctive lighting graphics in various colours onto the textile dashboard, with colours and ambient lighting changing depending on the selected driving mode. It’s an especially striking sight when taking in evening views of the Harbour Bridge and the Opera House.

Munich. Safety has always been a core development objective at MINI. Numerous five-star ratings in the Euro NCAP crash tests provide impressive proof of this commitment. At the heart of this is a consistently advanced safety concept of the highest standard, delivering an exceptionally high level of protection straight from the factory.

Integrated safety at MINI: Sensors, cameras and radar systems working together.
The integration of up to twelve ultrasonic sensors, five cameras and five radar systems forms the technological foundation for a wide range of driver assistance systems and safety functions. All MINI models come equipped as standard with a comprehensive package of active safety features. These systems support the driver by identifying potentially hazardous situations at an early stage and, ideally, helping to avoid accidents altogether.

Standard equipment includes Lane Departure Warning with active steering intervention, Front Collision Warning with approach warning and automatic braking intervention, including during turning maneuvers and in complex junction situations, continuous information on applicable speed limits, as well as cruise control with braking function. In addition, all MINI derivatives are equipped with the Driving Assistant, which includes functions such as Lane Change Warning with collision warning in the blind-spot area, Exit Warning, Rear Collision Warning for approaching vehicles, and Rear Cross Traffic Warning to support safe reversing out of parking spaces.

MINI Pre‑Crash technologies: Occupant protection activated before an accident.
Integral safety in the current MINI models also incorporates intelligent Pre-Crash functions that actively prepare the vehicle ahead of a potential collision. Based on comprehensive driving dynamics data, sensor input and environmental information, the system detects critical situations at an early stage and initiates targeted, reversible protective measures. These include the automatic closing of windows and sliding roofs, as well as the anticipatory positioning of seat backrests.
Through this preventive interaction, MINI further enhances occupant protection even before an accident occurs. As a result, every MINI offers a high level of active safety as standard – in urban environments and beyond.

For the MINI Cooper family, the MINI Aceman and the MINI Countryman, the Driving Assistant Plus is available as an option. It enables partially automated driving and includes features such as the Steering and Lane Control Assistant, Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop & Go function, and the automatic Speed Limit Assistant. The radar- and camera-based system supports the driver in maintaining lane position, distance and speed.

With the Driving Assistant Professional, the MINI Countryman further expands this range with additional safety and comfort features such as the Lane Change Assistant and Active Lane Guiding. When route guidance is active, the system alerts the driver to upcoming lane changes or exits. After the indicator is activated, the vehicle supports the lane change by adjusting the speed and applying a gentle steering input towards the target lane, including stabilization.  Additional features include side collision protection for motorway driving and traffic light recognition for urban use.
With this combination of standard and optional functions, a new level of driver assistance is achieved. MINI combines a high degree of safety with enhanced comfort and everyday convenience.

MINI parking assistance systems: Precision and safety in urban environments.
The range of functions designed to ensure safe and relaxed driving is complemented by high-performance parking assistance systems. From the factory, features of the Parking Assistant such as the Parking Maneuver Assistant, Reversing Assistant, Active Park Distance Control and the Reversing Camera support safe and confident maneuvering. Depending on the model, enhanced systems are also optionally available.

Within the Parking Assistant Plus, four surround-view cameras generate 360-degree views of the vehicle’s surroundings, which can be used both for the Anti-Theft Recorder and for particularly precise parking maneuvers. Remote-controlled parking via smartphone and the MINI App becomes possible with the Parking Assistant Professional.

Passive safety at MINI: Body structure, airbags and restraint systems.
All current MINI models come equipped with a comprehensive package of passive safety features as standard, providing effective protection in frontal, side and rear impacts. A particularly rigid body structure, precisely defined crumple zones and state-of-the-art restraint systems form the foundation for the high level of safety.

Depending on the model and market, up to nine adaptive front and side airbags are deployed. In Germany, for example, the MINI Countryman is equipped as standard with seven airbags, including a central airbag designed to enhance the protection of both front-seat occupants. The MINI Cooper family as well as the all-electric MINI Aceman additionally feature two side airbags in the second row of seats.

A key element of passive safety is the seat belt system. MINI combines adaptive force limiters and automatic belt tensioners to create a finely tuned overall system that adapts to different collision scenarios depending on the situation.
In the all-electric MINI Cooper models and in the MINI Aceman, buckle-mounted belt tensioners are also used. This technology specifically improves restraint in the pelvic area. Another important safety feature is the Seat Belt Reminder, which is activated as standard on all seats. The second row of seats is likewise equipped with belt force limiters and automatic tensioners.

For almost all MINI models, the comprehensive safety concept also includes an active bonnet. In the event of a collision with a pedestrian, the bonnet is raised in a targeted manner, helping to reduce the risk of injury.

Beijing. The BMW Group’s exhibition stand at Auto China 2026 is dedicated entirely to the Neue Klasse. In Beijing, the new BMW iX3 Long Wheelbase, the new BMW i3 Long Wheelbase, and the new BMW 7 Series featuring Neue Klasse technologies are celebrating their world premieres. “With the introduction of the new BMW iX3 for China, the BMW i3 for China, and the new BMW 7 Series, we are marking an important milestone in the biggest future project in BMW’s history: the Neue Klasse. We are making a major leap – in technology, driving experience, and design,” said Oliver Zipse, Chairman of the Board of Management of BMW AG. “With the new BMW 7 Series, we are demonstrating how we are scaling the new technology clusters and the new design language across our entire portfolio. The BMW iX3 and BMW i3: world premieres for the first two Neue Klasse models developed specifically for China.

The first Neue Klasse models developed in China for China are celebrating their world premieres at Auto China 2026: the new BMW iX3 and the new BMW i3. Both models embody the leap into a new era and reflect BMW’s ambition to lead innovation in China, the company’s largest single market, particularly in electrification, digitalisation, and software-defined vehicles.

With their distinctive Neue Klasse design language, the BMW iX3 and the new BMW i3 herald a new era in BMW design. Both models combine typical BMW proportions with a pared-back, more technical design language. Key features include a reinterpretation of the iconic BMW kidney grille, integrated light signatures, and forward-oriented lines.

Both the new BMW iX3 and the new BMW i3 are based on the sixth generation of BMW eDrive technology (Gen6). A key feature of Gen6 BMW eDrive technology is the cylindrical cell technology of the high-voltage battery. This enables a range of more than 900 kilometres on a single charge in the new BMW iX3, according to the CLTC cycle. In the new BMW i3, the maximum range, according to the CLTC cycle, exceeds 1,000 kilometres. Thanks to the Neue Klasse’s 800-volt architecture, both models can be charged at a fast-charging station with a peak charging power of 400 kW. According to the CLTC standard, this allows enough energy for up to 400 kilometres of driving to be added in ten minutes.

The BMW Group is making a powerful statement with the new BMW 7 Series: as the most exclusive interpretation of sheer driving pleasure, it underlines its leadership in the luxury segment.

The new BMW 7 Series represents the most extensive model revision in the history of the BMW Group. In its seventh generation the BMW 7 Series once again makes a significant leap forward. As the brand’s flagship and image leader, the new BMW 7 Series assumes a pioneering role in introducing Neue Klasse technologies into existing models. This step also marks the beginning of a cross-segment and cross-powertrain technology roll-out that will benefit all future BMW models.

Design premiere of BMW’s luxury class.

The new BMW 7 Series embodies the specific interpretation of the new BMW design language for the luxury segment. A monolithic exterior, the new BMW Iconic Glow kidney grille, and minimalist crystal headlights create a striking presence and strong visual identity. BMW Panoramic iDrive and the BMW Passenger Screen open up new dimensions in entertainment and information.

The new BMW 7 Series combines the strengths of a luxury sedan with innovative Neue Klasse technologies to deliver a comprehensive digital user experience that places both the driver and the passengers centre stage. Highlights include the new BMW Panoramic iDrive with optimal driver orientation and the first-ever BMW Passenger Screen, the enhanced BMW Theatre Screen for a cinematic experience or mobile working in the rear, as well as the Bowers & Wilkins sound system with Dolby Atmos support for an outstanding audio experience.

The multimodal operating logic of the BMW Panoramic iDrive combines touch-based, haptic, and voice interaction. The BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant, featuring Amazon Alexa+ AI technology, plays a central role in this. ^[1]In China, the BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant is enhanced with DeepSeek AI technology.

New driver assistance systems in the BMW 7 Series.

The comprehensively upgraded Level 2 driver assistance systems in the new BMW 7 Series enable hands-free driving on motorways at speeds of up to 130 km/h in many European countries, the United States, and Canada, including automated lane changes following eye confirmation and “Entry-to-Exit” assistance. The City Assistant offers navigation-guided “Address-to-Address” driver assistance through BMW Symbiotic Drive. ^[2] BMW Symbiotic Drive ensures seamless interaction between assistance systems and human driving behaviour. The driver’s intention to accelerate, brake, or steer merges intuitively with AI-supported software. The BMW 7 Series relies on driver assistance technologies that were specifically adapted for the Chinese market.

New “Address-to-Address” driver assistance system specifically for the Chinese market.

Beginning with the BMW iX3, BMW is introducing a new driver assistance system developed specifically for Chinese traffic conditions. By the end of 2027, it will be available in 12 BMW models in China, including the new BMW 7 Series and BMW i3. For more than 20 years, BMW has been a pioneer in the development of driver assistance systems, always placing safety and reliability under complex, real-world conditions at the forefront. For the new generation of intelligent BMW driver assistance in China, BMW combines decades of experience in functional integration and operational safety with the strengths of locally trained end-to-end AI, developed in partnership with the Chinese company Momenta. The result is a unique system for navigation-guided “Address-to-Address” driver assistance. The central computer for automated driving works in harmony with the “Heart of Joy”. In the new iX3 and i3, BMW Soft-Stop technology delivers the smoothest assisted driving experience to date.

Another highlight of these new driver assistance technologies is the unique cooperative braking system. When driver assistance is activated, it allows the driver to influence the system with light braking input without deactivating assistance. This function underlines BMW’s symbiotic philosophy for Level 2 driver assistance systems, including in China. As a result, the driver remains involved in a collaborative interaction between human and artificial intelligence. The entire user experience with BMW Panoramic iDrive is designed to ensure that the driver is always informed about the system’s status and remains intuitively attentive.

A digital leap forward: BMW Panoramic iDrive and the digital user experience for China.

With the start of the Neue Klasse, the display and control concept becomes a key driver of the in-vehicle digital user experience. At its heart is BMW Panoramic iDrive, which will be shown for the first time in China in models with Neue Klasse technologies presented at Auto China 2026. These cutting-edge technologies were adapted to meet local market needs.

It is based on BMW Operating System X. The system is designed to be scalable within the brand: core functions, architecture, and design principles are globally uniform, while content, services, and technologies can be adapted to specific markets and regions.

This scalability allows BMW to tailor digital functions to different usage habits and regulatory frameworks. One example is voice interaction: while BMW relies on Amazon technologies in Europe and the United States, in China, it uses a proprietary solution developed in collaboration with local technology partners such as DeepSeek. This way, BMW integrates different technological approaches within the same system architecture without compromising quality, safety, or user experience.

BMW has comprehensively enhanced the digital system for the Chinese market. This goes beyond localisation, representing a version designed for China. Around 70 per cent of the Chinese version of the BMW Operating System X is developed in local development centres. On-site teams contribute their expertise in Chinese user behaviour, for example, in voice interaction, navigation, personalisation, and the integration of digital ecosystems.

A key factor in this success is close collaboration with leading Chinese technology companies. Together with partners like Alibaba, DeepSeek, Amap, and Huawei, BMW develops digital functions and services that integrate deeply into the Chinese ecosystem. These collaborations support the integration of modern AI technologies, local services, and content into the in-car experience.

Navigation is also deeply integrated into the overall digital experience. In collaboration with Amap, BMW offers high-resolution, lane-accurate navigation in China that precisely visualises complex traffic situations and urban junctions. The content appears consistently across all relevant display levels for safe and intuitive navigation.

Furthermore, BMW Panoramic iDrive opens up new possibilities for personalisation. Configurable content, customisable widgets, and AI-powered functions allow the digital vehicle experience to adapt to different usage scenarios, from daily commuting and family journeys to business trips.

That is why China plays a key role in the BMW Group’s global digital strategy. The combination of scalable system architecture, local development expertise, and close partnerships with Chinese technology companies allows BMW to implement market-specific digital innovations while making them available worldwide.

The BMW iX3 Flow Edition demonstrates the production-ready status of BMW E Ink technology.

It offers a striking example of the transition from a static to a dynamic vehicle surface. Its E Ink technology, seamlessly integrated into the bonnet, allows the driver to choose among eight carefully selected animations at the touch of a button. The iconic Chinese buildings resemble modernity and progress. Ranging from subtle to expressive, the design makes innovation visible and conveys the driver’s style and mood in a personalised and context-sensitive way. By integrating this technology into the bonnet of the BMW iX3 Flow Edition, the BMW Group takes E Ink to a new level. Integrated into a large-scale bodywork element for the first time, the concept car demonstrates the technology’s readiness for series production.

Special editions and one-offs highlight the diversity of the MINI brand.

With its diverse vehicle portfolio, MINI underscores its commitment to individual design and a broad range of character at Auto China 2026. This includes several special editions highlighting the brand’s design and heritage, including the MINI Paul Smith Special Edition, as well as various models from the high-performance John Cooper Works sub-brand.

A highlight of the display is the one-off MINI x Vagabund. Based on the MINI Countryman, two unique vehicles were created in collaboration with the Austrian design studio Vagabund. With a bespoke sound system, striking graphic accents, and an expressive colour scheme, the MINI concept cars become a mobile soundstage, embodying a spirit of adventure, community culture, and festival lifestyle. One of the two MINI x Vagabund vehicles will be presented in Beijing.

MINI will also showcase the MINI JCW “The Skeg” at Auto China 2026. The model is the result of a collaboration with Deux ex Machina and combines influences from surf and motorsport culture to highlight the sporty, progressive side of the MINI brand.

A series production preview of BMW’s hydrogen fuel cell technology: the BMW iX5 Hydrogen prototype in ‘Flow Emergence’ design.

Another eye-catcher at the BMW Group’s exhibition stand at Auto China 2026 is the redesigned vehicle from the BMW Hydrogen Pilot Fleet, which has been in global operation since 2023. From 2028, the new BMW iX5 Hydrogen will become the first BMW series-production vehicle powered by a hydrogen fuel cell drive. In doing so, the BMW Group is bringing the benefits of this technology into everyday use: electric driving with long ranges and short refuelling stops.

The BMW iX5 Hydrogen from the pilot fleet, presented at Auto China 2026, also draws attention with its design concept developed by Designworks Shanghai. Thematically aligned with BMW’s hydrogen fuel cell technology, the wrap concept, developed under the motto ‘Flow Emergence’, uses water as a metaphor to visualise the generation and transformation of energy in nature. Inspired by water landscapes and Far Eastern watercolour painting, it illustrates the condensation of time and energy. The flowing visual language, with gentle colour gradients, conveys the transition from stillness to movement and the unfolding from within. The design of the pilot fleet vehicle at Auto China 2026 symbolises the continuous transformation of energy for climate-friendly and sustainable mobility in the future.

Innovation and bespoke individuality across 4,400 square metres of exhibition space.

The BMW Group is exhibiting its BMW and MINI brands at Auto China 2026 across a record exhibition space of around 4,400 square metres. This space is almost three times larger than in 2024 and underscores the importance of the Chinese market to the company. The exhibition stand showcases a total of 42 vehicles, including 28 BMW vehicles and 14 MINI vehicles, with three world premieres and 14 vehicles that are individualised, customised, classic cars, or special edition cars. Two BMW motorcycles will also be featured at Auto China 2026.

The BMW Highlight Show, featuring a 300-square-metre LED wall, presents the new BMW iX3 Long Wheelbase and the new BMW 7 Series to visitors throughout the day. Through interactive exhibits, ten ‘Deep Dive’ stations invite visitors to explore the latest technologies and charging solutions, including robotics and bidirectional charging. The extensive BMW Individual range is illustrated through an exhibition of 164 paint samples and 36 leather samples. The wider MINI presence centres on a broad portfolio of personalised vehicles, addressing different lifestyles, design approaches and use cases. Munich/Graz. MINI and Austrian design studio Vagabund present a new creative collaboration: two unique one-off vehicles based on the MINI Countryman, both of which set a powerful statement for adventure spirit, community culture and festival lifestyle.

“A long-standing tradition and core value of the MINI brand is individual vehicle customization. Together with Vagabund, MINI continues this approach and demonstrates how a creative reinterpretation of the MINI Countryman – inspired by festival culture and music – can be brought to life through an engaged community,” says Jean‑Philippe Parain, Head of MINI.

MINI x Vagabund: The Duo
Vagabund successfully adds a distinctive design layer to the MINI Countryman that authentically expresses individuality, design philosophy and community spirit. MINI deliberately provides the platform – Vagabund contributes their creative signature. The result: two charismatic vehicles that reinterpret the versatility and openness of the MINI Countryman in an entirely new way.

“For us, design does not begin with the object, but with the idea behind it – and it only ends when that idea becomes tangible. The MINI x Vagabund one-offs translate a clear concept into an experiential statement. Two distinctive characters, united by MINI Countryman DNA, create a composition full of tension – making design visible as an emotional experience,” explains Paul Brauchart, Co-Founder and Head of Creative Vagabund.

Holger Hampf, Head of MINI Design: “MINI Design stands for vehicles with strong character that people enjoy driving and living with—true to the motto: lifestyle meets function and fun. Through our collaboration with Vagabund on these two vehicles, we were able to once again showcase our attention to detail and technical craftsmanship in a striking way.”

With a sophisticated sound system, graphic accents and a bold colour concept, the two vehicles themselves become moving sound stages. The vehicle finished in Melting Silver features sand-coloured & white body exterior details: playful, graphic and light. The Midnight Black example stands in deliberate contrast – monochrome black, precise and technical. It is this contrast that enhances their perception and creates an overall impression that only becomes fully apparent when both vehicles are experienced together.

Bodywork & proportions
Distinctively reworked wheel arches create a visually wider stance and give the vehicles a further striking appearance. A front bumper attachment ensures a harmonious connection between the wings and the original front apron. Front and rear bumpers are colour-coordinated with the additional body modifications, with the radiator grille being revised accordingly. Along the side sills, sits prominently integrated VAGABUND lettering as a three-dimensional element.
The raised ride height further emphasizes the off-road character of the two MINI Countryman S ALL4 models. In addition, 20‑inch wheels are fitted, showcasing intentionally closed-off 3D‑printed wheel cover designs, which gives the wheels a muscular appearance and creates a clear visual association with loudspeakers.

The roof rack consists of three laser-cut and folded aluminium plates, complemented by an integrated stainless-steel mesh as an open surface. This construction visually references the design language of speaker covers, creating a connection between roof, side profile and overall vehicle design – turning the roof rack into an integral design element.

The vehicle as a sound system
The rear side windows have been removed and replaced by a specially-developed sound system designed specifically for outdoor sound projection, with community events in mind. At its heart is a newly developed loudspeaker housing made from cast polymer granite – a material that offers ideal conditions for precise and unadulterated sound reproduction.

Tweeters and mid-range speakers are integrated directly into the bodywork, while additional subwoofers in the rear deliver a powerful punch when the tailgate is opened. Each vehicle functions as an independent sound system – however together, both MINI Countryman show cars form a mobile stage, creating an immersive audio experience.

On the opposite side of the vehicle, a special detail can be found: an iconic Walkman integrated into a 3D‑printed housing. With a characteristic MINI sense of humour; this creates a deliberate counterpoint to the open external sound system – a personal, decelerated feeling. The combination of analogue nostalgia and contemporary construction underlines the experimental character of the entire concept.

MINI Individualization by Vagabund
Through Vagabund, the MINI Countryman becomes a moving platform for encounters and cultural exchange. The vehicles create community moments where people come together and enable experiences that go beyond the thrill of driving.

Vagabund is renowned for its expertise in rethinking existing products via visual transformations. The two one-off vehicles demonstrate how creative power lies in form, function and attention to detail. MINI and Vagabund share this approach: individuality instead of convention, craftsmanship instead of overbearing aesthetics, community instead of distance.

The MINI x Vagabund collaboration shows how MINI carries its historic commitment to individualization into the future: bold design interpretations, culture-driven themes (such as music), cultural leaders and community, combined with a high level of craftsmanship. The result is inspiring one-off examples that showcase the MINI Countryman in new and elevated ways. MINI will present one of the two one-off vehicles to the public for the first time at Auto China 2026 in Beijing. Munich/Milan. Presenting A Garden of Curiosity – an immersive installation cocreated by MINI and Paul Smith for the Salone del Mobile. Set in the historic Palazzo Borromeo d’Adda in Milan, A Garden of Curiosity adds yet another highlight to the rich history the collaborators already share. Connected by their British heritage and iconic designs, the two design houses come together to celebrate optimism, curiosity and innovative spirit. The installation combines Paul Smith’s signature use of colour with the eye for detail for which MINI is renowned and invites visitors to explore and enjoy the playful world of design. 

“Paul Smith and MINI complement one another perfectly, as our collaboration for this project demonstrates once again. We are united by the joy of design, and our shared enthusiasm for craftsmanship, innovation and individuality makes A Garden of Curiosity an experience full of colour, sound and expression,” said Holger Hampf, Head of MINI Design.

Visitors immerse themselves in colour and sound: an experience for all the senses

Set amid the enchanted garden of the Palazzo Borromeo d’Adda, the installation is accessed via a wooden footbridge that takes visitors across the courtyard and through a red door. The door represents a symbolic invitation to look and see. On the other side is the green space created by MINI and Paul Smith. It consists of pathways that are lined with plants and grasses and lead to open platforms and cubic installations. The iconic Paul Smith Signature Stripe runs discreetly through the garden as a recurring design element. Architecture, textures, colour and sound converge to create sensory experiences. 

Interactive theme rooms

The Colour Theory Room acts as a visual intersection between Paul Smith’s signature colour palette and the colours of the new MINI Paul Smith Edition. Visitors can arrange colour samples on an interactive wall, the overall picture changing constantly throughout the day with each new personal design. In keeping with the philosophy of Sir Paul, the wall also gives visitors the opportunity to experiment with colour combinations.  

The Listening Room builds on this experience with Sir Paul’s voice recordings, highlighting the importance of colour theory. Another open platform invites visitors to experience the space with all their senses, allowing them to consciously enjoy a moment away from the hustle and bustle of Milan.

Adding the joy of discovery to the installation, the new MINI Cooper Convertible Paul Smith Edition is waiting to be found and invites visitors to take a closer look. Its appearance and details not only reflect Paul Smith’s distinctive style, but also capture the brand’s playful, optimistic and independent spirit. This exclusive highlight of the installation merges into the charming overall scene.

“I’ve always adored my visits to Milan for Salone del Mobile and I’m delighted to be back in the city to introduce the world of design to my new MINI. I look forward to sharing this special project with you all,” said Sir Paul Smith.

Heritage meets curiosity

Walking through the courtyard to the installation, visitors are immersed in the history of MINI and Paul Smith. Here, they can explore three cars from the collaboration between the two companies, which stretches back to 1998: the Paul Smith 40th Anniversary Mini, the MINI STRIP by Paul Smith and another MINI Cooper from the latest Edition. The specially created colour Nottingham Green adds stylish accents to the Edition’s mirror caps, octagonal radiator grille and wheel hub covers with Paul Smith lettering. A selection of others details also reflect the distinctive style of Paul Smith and ensure this MINI Edition captures the essence of ‘classic with a twist’. 

The Paul Smith 40th Anniversary Mini: A one-off car from 1999, whose bodywork morphed into a living work of art with 86 stripes in 26 colours. The interior also contained surprising use of colour (e.g. the lime green glove compartment) and highlighted Paul Smith’s playful style.

The MINI STRIP by Paul Smith: Another one-of-a-kind creation, the MINI STRIP of 2021 – based on the MINI Cooper  – was reduced to the essentials, as per the principle of ‘less is more’. The minimalist design put the focus on construction and function, with the aim of showcasing a new-at-the-time, responsible approach to design.

A Garden of Curiosity will be open on 21 – 26 April 2026 as part of the Salone del Mobile in Milan. It can be visited in the House of MINI at Via A. Manzoni 41 each day between 10.00 a.m. and 7.00 p.m.

Asheville. The sun is shining. The foliage gleams in shades of yellow, red, and orange. Right in the middle, the MINI John Cooper Works in the exterior colour Ocean Wave Green. A picturesque scene, typical of the Great Smoky Mountains on the border between the US states of North Carolina and Tennessee. If it weren’t for the “Tail of the Dragon.” The US-129 is the most dangerous road in the USA: 17.7 kilometres long, with 318 bends. Every single one is a challenge for both man and machine.

The Tail of the Dragon repeatedly reveals its relentless side, effortlessly shaking off overconfident drivers. At the "Tree of Shame," located at the start of this perilous stretch of tarmac in the "Deals Gap" car park, hang the relics of mobile overestimation: bodywork parts, mirrors, wheel trims, and motorcycle fuel tanks. A challenge perfectly suited for the MINI John Cooper Works and its motorsport DNA, which is embodied in the legendary go-kart feeling.

This is also emphasized by the parameters of the high-performance model, designed for uncompromising agility. Weighing 1,330 kilograms, the MINI JCW combines firm body control with noticeable lightness. The direct steering, responsive brake pedal feel, balanced axle load distribution with short overhangs, and low centre of gravity form a dynamic unit, which reveals its full potential in demanding bends. Thus, this dangerous stretch of tarmac becomes a place of concentrated, maximum driving pleasure.

The powerful four-cylinder TwinPower Turbo petrol engine with two litres of displacement delivers 170 kW/231 hp and a maximum torque of 380 Newton metres. The MINI John Cooper Works accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.1 seconds. 18-inch wheels in the JCW Lap Spoke two-tone design with sports tyres ensure maximum traction even in challenging driving situations. The frequency-selective dampers with a special JCW application harmoniously resolve the demanding conflict between dynamics and comfort. The sports braking system, with 17-inch brake discs at the front and 16-inch discs at the rear, provides reliable deceleration when approaching corners.

The camber angle at the front axle is increased by 30 arc minutes (0° 30') compared to the MINI Cooper C and MINI Cooper S, allowing for higher cornering speeds. Fast gear changes of the dual-clutch sport automatic transmission enable clean acceleration out of tight bends. In the MINI John Cooper Works models, this is further refined by the manual use of the two shift paddles. JCW sports seats guarantee secure lateral support even on demanding road sections. Thanks to the exclusive "John Cooper Works" driving mode with live displays of torque, G-forces, and current engine output, drivers always have all relevant data in view.

The clearly designed cockpit is structured by the JCW sports steering wheel, the high-resolution OLED display, and the MINI-typical toggle switch strip. The central instrument, with a premium glass surface and a diameter of 240 millimetres, constantly provides all relevant vehicle data and can be conveniently operated by both driver and front passenger. The interior also exudes sportiness in every fibre. The knitted surface of the dashboard, with its black and red pattern, recalls the motorsport heritage of the MINI John Cooper Works. The standard Harman Kardon sound system further intensifies the driving experience.

The exterior emphasizes the sporting ambitions of the MINI John Cooper Works. The Ocean Wave Green paintwork, paired with the black roof and black mirror caps, makes the MINI a head-turner in any environment. The John Cooper Works bodykit, with aerodynamically optimised components such as the front splitter, rear spoiler, and rear diffuser, not only gives the MINI John Cooper Works a dynamic appearance but also generates downforce and further enhances driving dynamics. MINI LED headlights with horizontal JCW-specific daytime running lights ensure a distinctive presence. The rear view is characterised by the aerodynamically shaped rear spoiler and the black rear diffuser. The centrally positioned tailpipe further emphasises the character of this agile powerhouse.

Munich. No other city has motorsport so deeply rooted in its history than Monte Carlo. MINI has endured tremendous success within the principality, particularly in 1965, when the legendary Mini Cooper S, driven by Timo Mäkinen and co-driver Paul Easter took victory at the 1965 Monte Carlo Rally. At the time, the car was praised for its innovative technology, elegant performance, and agility under extreme weather conditions which MINI has been able to replicate and modernize in the form of the new MINI 1965 Victory Edition. This new edition creates a stylish statement and maintains typical MINI craftmanship, following the foundations laid MINIs illustrious rally history.

The MINI 1965 Victory Edition is offered across the MINI John Cooper Works, MINI John Cooper Works Electric and MINI Cooper S models.

The MINI Cooper S variant is equipped with a 2.0 litre TwinPower Turbo four-cylinder engine, which combines sporty agility with everyday usability thanks to its 204 hp (150KW) and 300 Nm maximum torque resulting a 0 to 100km/h speed of just 6.6 seconds. On the other hand, the MINI John Cooper Works has an impressive 231 hp (170KW) and a maximum torque of 380 Nm. It sprints from a standstill to 100 km/h in just 6.1 seconds. Meanwhile the MINI John Cooper Works Electric, impresses with an output up to 258 hp (190KW) and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in remarkable 5.9 seconds.

Exterior: a perfect blend of vintage and modern design.
In homage to the legendary motorsports colors of the 1960s, the 1965 Victory Edition impresses in Chili Red exterior paintwork, which is accentuated by a white trim stripe extending from bonnet to the roof and rear, enhancing the vehicle´s sportiness even further. As an exclusive trademark of the edition, a white “52” graphic adorns both sides of the vehicle – a reference to the number of the original car displayed from 1965.

The roof is offered as a panoramic roof, or in Glaced which provides an athletic and elegant contrast to the Chili Red body. The subtle “1965” sticker on the C-pillar catches the eye and gracefully emphasizes the historic year of victory. The 18-inch alloy wheels in the JCW Lap Spoke 2-tone Design or the JCW Mastery Spoke black for the all-electric MINI John Cooper Works not only give the vehicle a dynamic appearance but also ensure optimum performance and safe handling on a wide variety of road surfaces. Based on rally sport, floating hubs and JCW valve painted in the specific color scheme and set additional sporty accents. 

Interior: sportiness and comfort combined.
On entering the vehicle, the striking door sill showcase white “1965”- writing on a red and black background immediately catch the eye and bestow the cockpit with an exclusive look. In addition, each model of the edition features a dedication on the inside of the door reflecting information about the bygone rally.

The interior is based on the traditional JCW colour palette and the familiar JCW-Trim. Finished in aracy anthracite and red, this combination creates an elegant blend while also providing a sportive contrast to the vehicle’s exterior paintwork. The edition-specific details have been carefully selected to create a harmonious overall effect. The 6 O´clock spoke of the sports steering wheel and the storage box in the center of the console feature the “1965”-lettering and thus become a subtle but impactful reference to the rich tradition of MINI motorsports history. Munich. The all-electric MINI Countryman models – MINI Countryman E and MINI Countryman SE All4 – are destined to set new benchmarks with technological innovations arriving in March 2026, while showcasing notable versatility as compact SUVs suited for everyday life.   

The MINI Countryman E offers a purely electrical range up to 500 kilometers (WLTP), transforming the largest model in the MINI family into a particularly attractive companion for any adventure. The significantly increased range is achieved due to a combination of innovative technical solutions. At its heart is the new silicon carbide (SiC) inverter, which guarantees highly efficient energy conversion and minimizes power losses. This is complemented by an increase in the net capacity of the high-voltage storage system of 65,2 kWh, which enables more usable energy. In addition, friction-reduced wheel bearings on the front axle reduce rolling resistance and therefore contribute to overall optimization.

Versatility for everyone’s requirement- comfort and space at the highest level.
The all-electric MINI Countryman blends the brand´s signature driving fun with remarkable versatility, making it ideal for any challenge. With its generous interior dimensions and a variable trunk volume of up to 1.450 liters, it offers enough space for the whole family, luggage or sports equipment – perfect for everyday use as well as for weekend trips or longer journeys. The increased range of the MINI Countryman E up to 500 kilometers (WLTP) or the MINI Countryman SE All4 up to 467 kilometers create new freedom and significantly reduce charging requirements. Whether in the countryside or on the highway – thanks to fast DC charging technology, the all- electric MINI Countryman can charge the battery from 10 to 80 percent in less than 30 minutes.

Modern design with an expressive identity.
The exterior of the all-electric MINI Countryman emphasizes its identity with specific design elements and aerodynamic optimizations. A particularly expressive example of this is the exclusive Favoured Trim, which accentuates the model with thoughtfully curated details such as the Blazing Blue body colour, a vibrant silver roof and mirror caps as well as the 20” alloy wheels featuring the Windmill Spoke Design. It underscores the MINI Countryman´s dynamic and modern appearance. With a drag coefficient (Cd Value) of just 0.26, the design makes a significant contribution to efficiency and range.

Munich. The new MINI Paul Smith Edition combines MINI´s iconic design with Paul Smith´s famous design language “Classic with a Twist”. This special edition for the entire MINI Cooper family captivates with its unique look. The appearance and details of the vehicles not only showcase Paul Smith´s unmistakable style, but also the playful, optimistic and independent spirit of MINI.

The fully electric MINI Cooper Paul Smith Edition is the first model of the new edition to hit the roads: With its 218 hp (160 kW) front-wheel drive, the MINI Cooper SE Paul Smith Edition combines unique design with locally emission- free driving fun. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.7 seconds.

Exterior: sporty accents with iconic styling

The MINI Cooper SE Paul Smith Edition in Midnight Black gives the 3-door model a more classic look. The roof, also in black, attracts attention with its interpretation of the famous Paul Smith signature stripes. Instead of the familiar colours, glossy and matt black stripes.

The MINI Cooper S Paul Smith Edition features another colour developed especially for this edition: Inspired White. Once the car door is opened, a light projection welcomes the driver with a friendly “Hello”. This welcome is complemented by Paul Smith´s central message “Every day is a new beginning” on the door sill. Another creative interior centrepiece is the textile band on the 6 o´clock spoke of the sports steering wheel in Paul Smith´s signature stripes – a characteristic design feature that underlines the British designer’s unmistakable style. This prestigious award emphasises MINI's leading position in safety within the premium small car segment. Munich. The MINI brand looks back on an extremely successful 2025. With a total volume of 288,290 vehicles, MINI achieved a significant sales increase of 17,7% compared to 2024 figures. Particularly impressive is the high demand for battery electric vehicles (BEVs): with 105,535 fully electric MINIs delivered in 2025 (+87,9%), the brand achieved a new record in electromobility, resulting in more than every third MINI sold worldwide being electric. In many markets, the share is significantly above 50%, such as Netherlands, Turkey, Sweden and China.

Jean-Philippe Parain, Head of the MINI brand, emphasizes: “MINI continuously increases the share of fully electric vehicles, thereby demonstrating its innovative strength and future orientation. Our strong volume growth across all regions in 2025 clearly reflects the exceptional appeal of the MINI model family. The updated iconic design, the sportiness, individuality and expanded electric offerings of the MINI brand have met customer expectations all around the globe.

A growth driver was the largest MINI model in the product portfolio, the MINI Countryman: with a 32,4 % share of the total MINI volume, it underlines the brand’s SUV expertise. The Countryman combines typical MINI driving pleasure with innovative design and high versatility – ideal for any outdoor challenge. In 2025, 93,305 units were sold worldwide (+15.2%); the fully electric Countryman achieved a sales growth of 81.8% compared to 2024.

Sub-brand John Cooper Works reaches record numbers

The sporty John Cooper Works (JCW) sub-brand also set new standards in 2025: with 25,630 units sold, MINI JCW increased the sales volume by 59.5% and achieved a new sales record. The share of JCW vehicles reached 8.9% of the total MINI volume. In some markets, such as UK, Italy, Japan and Australia, the performance-enhanced MINI models reached their highest sales figures to date.

The MINI Cooper family

The traditional MINI Cooper family, consisting of the MINI Cooper 3-Door, the MINI Cooper 5-Door and the MINI Convertible, recorded with 162,789 a sales increase of 10.3% compared to the previous year. The new generation of the MINI Cooper Convertible, only introduced in 2025, rounded off the model family with unique features. With 22,491 units sold, a sales growth of 18.4% was achieved. The MINI Cooper 5-Door impresses with typical brand-specific driving fun, increased space, and high functionality and recorded with 47,850 units a significant growth of 26.5% compared to 2024.

2026 starts with the new MINI Paul Smith Edition

Starting in 2026, the MINI Cooper 3-Door, MINI Cooper 5-Door, and MINI Cooper Convertible – both electric and combustion engine versions – will be available in the new MINI Paul Smith Edition. This edition combines the unmistakable style of the British designer Paul Smith with the playful, optimistic and independent spirit of the MINI brand. Following the successful collaborations “MINI STRIP” (2021) and “MINI Recharged by Paul Smith” (2022), Paul Smith now brings his world-famous design language “Classic with a twist” into the MINI family once again.

Tokyo. The Japan Mobility Show is a showcase for innovation and mobility. Attending the show also provides an opportunity to discover the diversity and beauty of Japan away from the metropolis of Tokyo. The drive along the Irohazaka Road, a spectacular, winding mountain road in the Nikko region, combines driving pleasure with breathtaking nature.

The journey begins in the centre of the Japanese capital and continues north to Nikko National Park, around 180 km away. The Irohazaka Road starts there, connecting Nikko National Park with the Oku-Nikko plateau and leading through the most beautiful colours of autumn. Munich/ Island. For nature lovers, Iceland, is a true dream destination - and the easiest way to explore it is by car. Even though much has changed in the land of geysers, volcanoes, glaciers and endless mountain ranges, Iceland is always good for an adventure or two - and so is the MINI Countryman SE ALL4.
There are just under 2,700 kilometres as the crow flies between Munich and Reykjavik in the south of Iceland - and a few more to the Westfjords. By road, it is around 2,300 kilometres plus a two-day ferry crossing from Hirtshals in Denmark to Sedisfjödur.

The MINI Countryman SE ALL4 is off-road ready.
Apart from the road network in the capital Reykjavik, there is hardly much more tarmac than the Ring Road, which is the easiest way to explore the island. The MINI Countryman SE ALL4 is therefore more rugged than the family SUV is normally known for when it leaves Munich: off-road tyres, luggage rack with spare wheel on the roof, sand plates, spade and jack are all part of the sensible equipment package if you want to experience sights such as waterfalls, geysers and fjords.

Two electric motors for powerful all-wheel drive.
With its electric range of up to 432 kilometres according to the WLTP test cycle, the powerful MINI Countryman sets off on the first leg of its journey, which takes it via Hamburg to Denmark to the port of Hirtshals. The off-road tyres specially suited to the challenges of the island and the extensive roof structure hardly reduce the range of the MINI Countryman SE ALL4. With a maximum charging capacity of 130 kW, less than 30 minutes remain for route preparation during stopovers. On the way along German motorways, the MINI Countryman SE ALL4 initially demonstrates its touring qualities: Two electric motors with a total output of 230 kW/313 hp and a torque of 494 Nm provide a powerful drive. The Driving Assistant Professional enables semi-automated driving for relaxed journeys and arrivals. Additional space in the redesigned interior gives the driver and front passenger more room in the shoulder and elbow area.

Rough North Sea and long days in Iceland.
During the ferry crossing from Hirtshals in Denmark to Sedisfjödur in Iceland, the North Sea is unusually rough with a considerable storm and waves of over eight metres. The weather on arrival in Iceland is worse than expected: light snowfall, low clouds and temperatures below freezing. However, after the start of the stage on the way inland, the already impressive landscapes of lava rock become increasingly worth seeing. The never-ending midsummer sun wins the battle against the night - and so the Countryman reaches the hotel shortly after midnight in bright sunshine after a long first stage on Iceland's mainland.

MINI Countryman: Charisma defies mud and dust.
Early the next morning, at around five o'clock, the MINI Countryman SE ALL4, which has long since been heavily soiled, sets off on the challenging final stage of Route 622 - one of the most demanding and dangerous tracks in the Westfjords with a particularly spectacular scree passage by the water, which can only be driven through at low tide.
With its ‘Blazing Blue’ paintwork, bronze-coloured elements thanks to the Favoured Trim, all terrain tyres and roof rack, the MINI Countryman SE ALL4 causes quite a stir and is a real talking point on the road. Dust and mud on the rough routes cannot diminish its radiance along the journey.

Relaxed and electric on Iceland's rugged coastline.
The all-electric MINI Countryman masters green meadows, gloomy scree or narrow paths with cliff overhangs and water crossings with ease. A gentle off-road pace hardly reduces the electric range. Here and there it touches down, scraping the turf, while the views of the sea and the steeply sloping coastline become increasingly spectacular. The MINI Countryman is tenacious, confident and fully electric as it battles its way along the narrow and challenging Route 622, the conditions of which have been made even more difficult by the rainfall of recent weeks.

The MINI Countryman knows adventure.
Coming from the south, nothing works just before the beach section of Route 622: where waves and weather have torn everything away, the notorious track is no longer passable by any vehicle. Even spades, sand trays and jacks can't help. And yet, between Munich and Iceland, the MINI Countryman SE ALL4 proves that it rightly bears its name - even fully electrically.

Unexpected elements, such as the 'hello' projection on the ground and Paul Smith’s handwritten inscription bring a smile to your face right upon entering the car," says Holger Hampf, Head of MINI Design.

The MINI Paul Smith Edition offers a choice of three exterior paint finishes, two of which are edition-exclusive: Statement Grey is a modern interpretation of the classic Mini Austin Seven colour from 1959 – a clear, bluish-tinted grey shade and self-confident statement of timeless modernity. Inspired White is a contemporary homage to the popular Classic Mini Beige colour, and finally the elegant and classic Midnight Black Metallic from the current MINI Family.

Regardless of the body colour, the specially created Nottingham Green paintwork – a tribute to Sir Paul's hometown – adds sophisticated accents to the side mirrors, the octagonal radiator grille, the wheel hub covers with Paul Smith lettering and as the paintwork for one of the two roof variants.

In addition to the colour variants, numerous details characterise Paul Smith's signature and make the MINI Paul Smith Edition unmistakable: The ‘Signature Stripe’, a central design feature of the British designer, adorns the roof in Nottingham Green at the rear of the driver's side. The alternative version of the roof features elegant stripes in Jet Black in varying thickness, both matte and glossy. The MINI Cooper Convertible Paul Smith Edition is supplied with a black soft top.

All edition vehicles are equipped with 18-inch Night Flash Spoke black aluminium wheels with tinted clear coat in Dark Steel. The MINI logo at the front and rear is offered in newly designed Black Blue and complements the colour composition of Paul Smith and MINI. On the black horizontal handle strip at the rear, Paul Smith's signature refers to the creative spirit behind the vehicle design.

British restraint and elegance in the interior.

British character is also reflected in the interior with numerous components featuring a modern, elegant look. The knitted surfaces on the dashboard and door panels appear in black, while Paul Smith fabrics in tone-on-tone stripe patterns serve as inspiration for the special structure of the dashboard. The Nightshade Blue sports seats are made of Vescin and have knitted textile in the shoulder and headrest areas. Drawn from the Signature Stripe, the decorative stitching on the steering wheel's textile band is designed in bright colours - quintessentially Paul Smith.

The round display in the centre of the cockpit also appears with one of three different Paul Smith backgrounds when Personal Mode is selected. Small hidden details underline the British design influence - but also the playful character of the designer: when the door is opened, the driver and front passenger are greeted with a handwritten ‘Hello’ as a light projection on the floor and Smith's motto ‘Every day is a new beginning’ on the door sill, reflecting the positive mindset of both brands.  A graphic of a stylized ‘rabbit’ hand-drawn by Paul Smith on the floor mat complete the interior details.

A collaboration that blends British heritage, bold creativity and contemporary sophistication.
MINI and Sir Paul Smith: two icons that are not only linked by their British heritage but also look back on exclusive collaborations resulting in unique styling. Their joint creative success story began in 1998, when the designer created a limited edition of the classic Mini: a specially created blue colour and matching anthracite-coloured alloy wheels lent the iconic model the signature of Paul Smith.

To mark the 40th birthday of the classic MINI in 1999, the fashion designer dipped an exclusive one-off in his characteristic stripe design, using 86 stripes in 26 colours.

In 2021, the MINI STRIP celebrated its world premiere: a vehicle designed using only what Paul Smith considered absolutely necessary. The result was a customised one-off car that despite its minimalist design and in keeping with Smith's guiding principle of ‘classic with a twist’, was not without unexpected and loving details.

In 2022, Paul Smith went back to the roots of the collaboration with the MINI Recharged by Paul Smith. A classic found its way into the now: a Classic Mini from the 1998 MINI Paul Smith Edition was transformed into a modernised electric vehicle. With a focus on quality and functionality, a contemporary vehicle was created that can also be seen as a tribute to the tradition and heritage of the classic MINI.

But it is not only Sir Paul Smith who inspires MINI with creative ideas - the inspiration also works in reverse: the designer repeatedly uses MINI as a motif on exclusive pieces in his collections. To celebrate the launch of the MINI Paul Smith Edition, Paul Smith will release a capsule collection of bags inspired by details from the latest MINI collaboration.

Munich / Tokyo. The Japan Mobility Show 2025 becomes the stage for the latest milestone in the long-standing collaboration between MINI and British designer Paul Smith. It will be unveiled as part of the BMW Group Keynote on 29 October 2025 at 09:55 (JST) at the BMW Group stand, based in the West Exhibition Hall of the show.

MINI and Paul Smith: A creative success story.

The MINI Paul Smith Edition is a new chapter in the success story of the two British brands. The long-lasting relationship began in 1998, when the designer wrapped a Classic Mini Cooper in his trademark visual design. To mark the 40th anniversary of the Classic Mini in 1999, the designer lent his characteristic Paul Smith "Signature Stripe" to a one-off model. After two further one-offs - the MINI Strip in 2021 and the MINI Recharged by Paul Smith in 2022 - Paul Smith's design language returns to MINI.

As part of the BMW Group stand at the Japan Mobility Show, MINI is presenting the diverse range of its current product portfolio. The MINI Cooper family is represented by showcasing the MINI Cooper SE, which combines heritage, technology and driving pleasure. Whilst providing a fully electric go-kart feeling via the 218 hp electric powertrain. Also present will be the MINI Cooper 5-door S, which combines compact dimensions and agility whilst showcasing increased practicality when compared to its 3-door siblings. A MINI Cooper Convertible will also be on show, which presents open-air driving in the spirit of its ‘Always Open’ philosophy: agile, spontaneous and full of driving pleasure.Launched earlier this year, the MINI John Cooper Works Aceman outlines its sporty all-electric useable performance from the John Cooper Works sub-brand. The latest model in the MINI family presents itself as a versatile companion and not only demonstrates MINIs typical "Clever Use of Space" - but also brings a powerful driving experience to the road as a performance-enhanced version thanks to 258 hp produced from the 54.2 kWh electric battery. Finally, the MINI Countryman S ALL 4 will also be present on the BMW Group stand at the Japan Mobility Show: as the largest of the MINI family, the car offers generous space and fits in perfectly for those looking for longer adventures and spontaneous exploring.

Munich. The BMW Group today announced senior management changes in its Sales and Finance Divisions: Jean-Philippe Parain, who currently serves as Head of the Sales Region Asia-Pacific, Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa for the BMW Group, will assume responsibility for the MINI brand as of 1 October 2025.

Parain brings a wealth of international experience to the role and will be tasked with building on MINI's current momentum. Jean-Philippe Parain joined the company in 1997 at BMW France in the marketing department. Jean-Philippe Parain has held several senior management roles including President and CEO BMW Group Belux, Head of MINI Europe and Head of Sales Region Europe. Under his leadership, the Sales Region Asia-Pacific, Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa saw particularly strong growth and reached segment leadership for the premium brands BMW and MINI.

”We are convinced that Jean-Philippe Parain, with his leadership experience and sales expertise, will help MINI build on the strong foundation of the new model family and realise the brand's great potential in coming years,” said Jochen Goller, Member of the Board of Management of BMW AG, responsible for Customer, Brands and Sales.

Stefan Richmann, currently Head of the MINI brand, will take on the role of Head of Treasury and Investor Relations for the BMW Group, effective

1 October 2025. Under Stefan Richmann's leadership, MINI has seen a strong sales increase by about 25% per August 2025 compared to the previous year, with the new MINI model lineup resonating strongly with customers around the world. Especially the all-electric MINI models saw significant growth during the year.

"Stefan Richmann has done an outstanding job in steering the MINI brand into the future and positioning it for continued growth and success," said Jochen Goller.

As Head of BMW Group Treasury, Stefan Richmann will be responsible for the financing activities of the BMW Group, including liquidity management, pension investment and financial risk management. Additionally, BMW Group Investor Relations, as part of his responsibility, serve as the interface to the capital market.

Stefan Richmann began his career at the BMW Group in 1997. Since then, he has held numerous managerial positions within the company. From 2008, Stefan Richmann was responsible for BMW Spain finances as CFO. He returned to Munich at the end of 2010, where he fulfilled several further management roles in the Finance and Controlling division and Product Management at BMW Group headquarters. From 2017, Stefan Richmann served as CFO of BMW North-America and later as Head of BMW Financial Services America. In April 2022, he took over as head of the Corporate Strategy division, and in 2024 as head of the MINI brand.

Ritu Chandy, currently Head of BMW Group Treasury, will succeed Jean-Philippe Parain as Head of the BMW Group Sales Region Asia-Pacific, Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa on 1 October 2025.

Ritu Chandy began her career with the BMW Group in 2001 at BMW Australia and has held senior management roles across BMW Group’s global footprint including CFO for BMW Group Financial Services of North America and CEO of the BMW Group Financial Services Asia-Pacific Region before relocating to Munich in April 2022 for her current position. In this role, Ritu Chandy has driven change in capital market interaction and earned widespread respect with financial market stakeholders for her transparency, strategic approach and unwavering dedication. 

“We are confident that Ritu Chandy, with her drive and strength in successfully managing heterogeneous markets, will continue to build on the strong sales performance in the region. I would like to thank Ritu, who has worked tirelessly to strengthen the BMW Group's reputation in the financial market and, together with her teams, has driven forward process improvements in Group Treasury," said Walter Mertl.

Her appointment as Head of the Sales Region Asia-Pacific, Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa for the BMW Group comes into effect as of 1 October2025. Munich. Overall excellent performance in crash protection and well equipped with state-of-the-art crash avoidance technology – these are the requirements for a 5-star rating in the Euro NCAP (European New Car Assessment Programme). The MINI Cooper 3-door and the MINI Aceman have been awarded this top rating by the European Consumer Protection Institute for their safety in all engine versions. The top rating was also achieved through the extensive standard equipment with safety-related driving assistance systems.

Fourth NCAP top rating for the current MINI family.
The top ratings for the MINI Cooper and MINI Aceman are not the first awards for the current MINI family: the all-electric MINI Cooper and MINI Countryman have also already been awarded five stars for their high level of safety.
The two latest top marks in the Euro NCAP rating once again underline the brand’s commitment producing vehicles that are not only extremely attractive but also particularly safe.

Top rating in four safety categories.
The MINI Cooper three-door achieves a safety compliance rating of 83 % in the occupant protection category and 82 % in child safety. With a rating of 81 % for pedestrian protection and 77 % for safety assistants, the model is certified as having a high level of safety overall – especially in the small car segment.
The MINI Aceman achieved very strong results, scoring 83 % for occupant protection and 87 % for child safety, and also scored well for pedestrian protection (77 %) and safety assistants (79 %).

All model variants impress in terms of safety.
The 5-star Euro NCAP rating applies to all engine variants of each model: the three-door MINI Cooper C, MINI Cooper S and MINI John Cooper Works, as well as the MINI Aceman in the MINI Aceman E, MINI Aceman SE and MINI John Cooper Works Aceman variants, all performed well in passive and active safety tests.

Euro NCAP: Europe-wide benchmark for safety.
Euro NCAP is an initiative by automotive associations and government agencies to assess the safety of new vehicles. The aim is to improve the protection of occupants and other road users. The ratings awarded by the Euro NCAP testing institute are a Europe-wide benchmark for accident safety and are continuously being tightened.

Built not just for performance, but for the people who live and breathe it.

“MINI models have always been characterized by a blend of creative design and motorsport dynamics,’ explains Stefan Richmann, Head of MINI. “Thanks to our collaboration with Deus Ex Machina, we are taking this philosophy to a new level and setting exciting new trends for fans and motorsport enthusiasts. The partners are united by their “passion for machines, innovation and creativity” and an authentic relationship with their own community,” says Stefan Richmann.

Purist, functional and graphic design approach.
Both vehicle concepts are based on a MINI John Cooper Works model: the first, a MINI JCW Electric with up to 190 kW/258 hp, the second, a combustion engine-powered MINI JCW with 170 kW/231 hp. Each vehicles roof features a large white ‘X’, a connecting element, which signals a significant design and co-creation: the co-creation process between two iconic brands in their own right: MINI JCW x DEUS.

"In this extraordinary collaboration, we showcase two vehicles that remind us of motorsport history and successes of MINI. Every single detail has been crafted with artisanal precision and expertise. This has resulted in unique characters that are clearly perceived as belonging together through their distinctive design language and use of graphics," says Holger Hampf, Head of MINI Design.

Visible seams, striking switches and traditional levers emphasise the mechanical character of the cockpits. The materials and colours utilised throughout the vehicles create bold contrasts: a deliberate break with high gloss. Instead of perfection, authenticity is at the forefront: designers speak of a ‘raw, handcrafted approach’ that celebrates the ‘beauty of imperfection’. On the exterior, expressive graphics consisting of numbers, geometric elements and bright colours pay homage to MINIs racing history.

The MINI JCW X DEUS one-off cars.
Built as a pair - kindred in spirit, opposite in energy. One born of the coast: shaped by surfboards, sea spray, and the stripped-back rhythm of beach life. The other is forged on the track: lean, fast, and fuelled by a love of speed and precision.

The Skeg – sleek, electric, coast-bound.
The electric powered show car ‘The Skeg’ is a clean, minimal and quiet rebellion, drawing on materials, technologies and philosophies from the world of surfing: Fiberglass, acceleration and minimalism.

The vehicles bodywork lands a bold first impression in a vivid yellow and silver finish - a nod to MINI’s progressive take on electric mobility. Wide fenders, an illuminated front grille, and a roof spoiler sharpen the silhouette, while semi-transparent fiberglass panels strip 15% of the car’s weight and refine its aerodynamic performance.
At the rear, the Flex Tip Surf Spoiler responds to airflow much like a surfboard rides the contours of a wave. Its form draws from the concave underside of a board, redirecting movement, generating downforce, and turning design into function.

Tension straps across the roof reference the familiar ritual of tying down a surfboard after a session, while remaining a characteristic design detail of the new MINI family, featured as an accent on the dashboard and in the 6 o'clock spoke of the steering wheel.

Custom-made fiberglass elements on the roof, front, rear, and interior create a shifting play of light: translucent, strong, and responsive to time of day and environment, while the dashboard itself borrows directly from surfboard construction: lightweight, resilient, and visually distinctive.

The Interior.
Inside, the analogue controls are stripped back - simple, tactile, and true to purpose, reflecting a surf culture that prioritises purpose over polish.
The car resembles a mobile surf shop. An example of the thoughtful functionality is the fiberglass trays for wetsuits. The specially shaped shelves provide a practical storage solution and bring the surf culture into the interior. The neoprene upholstery in the lightweight racing bucket seats – flexible, water-repellent, and comfortable – also creates a tactile connection to surfing.
The fiberglass dashboard transfers the technology of surfboard construction into the automotive sector.
The oversized ‘X’ returns as a visual anchor, while Deus Collection badges and 3D-printed details in the console serve as subtle signifiers of a shared culture - one grounded in craft, connection, and the pursuit of the ride.

The Machina - loud, low, combustion-fed.
The Machina, a John Cooper Works that packs a compact punch of raw mechanics and motorsport bloodline. Inspired by the aesthetics of motorsport, it stands for pure racing enthusiasm and authentic functionality.

The exterior: signature elements with links to the racing scene.
The exterior design pays homage to the motorsport heritage of the MINI brand. Every characteristic feature has been carefully selected with a focus on functionality and emotional appeal.

The red, white and black paintwork, complete with bold accents and Deus lettering on the rear, makes an immediate impression. Classic widened fenders nod to racing heritage, blending form and function, while four additional headlights mounted on the bonnet pay tribute to rally sport roots. Each custom-built light pod features subtle Deus branding, offering both performance and a distinctive visual signature.

At the rear, the diffuser draws inspiration from the MINI JCW race car that tore through the legendary Nordschleife. Beyond its aggressive stance, it’s designed to optimise airflow and stability, with the centrally integrated exhaust serving as both a functional and aesthetic focal point, amplifying the engine’s sound and presence.

Up front, a bespoke grille and perforated headlight surrounds enhance cooling performance, while the iconic MINI John Cooper Works light signature, complete with air intakes, anchors the car firmly in MINI’s high-performance lineage. Topping it off is a Can-Am-style rear spoiler: a bold piece of motorsport nostalgia that nods to an era when innovation in racing pushed both design and engineering to the edge.

The Interior.
Inside the JCW show car, the red, white and black palette holds strong - pared-back, purposeful, and unmistakably John Cooper Works. The 5-point racing harnesses secure the driver, and ultimately become part of the driving experience, wrapping the body in precision.

Raw aluminium floor plates offer more than grip, rather they echo the utilitarian aesthetic found in Deus’ custom motorcycle workshops from Sydney to Venice Beach to Canggu, grounding the car in a shared language of performance and craft.

Weight-saving is built into every surface, from the stripped-back door panels marked with bold white ‘X’ motifs, to the waxed fabric dash - lightweight, durable, and finished with a lived-in patina that speaks to hands-on workmanship. Overhead, the exposed roll cage adds structure and statement in equal measure - a safety feature that nods to the car’s unfiltered racing DNA.

The show car's controls speak a clear language of functionality and directness. Every switch and every button is designed to function intuitively and reliably, even under extreme conditions.

Toggle switches are classic elements – no complex menus, just direct, mechanical connections between thought and action. Each button has a clear function. A classic example, the hydraulic handbrake with its large lever, acting as a direct connection between driver and vehicle - a commitment to precision and control. The JCW show car is a driving manifesto and a tribute to the motorsport DNA of the MINI brand.

Concentrated creativity for two extraordinary designer pieces.
In collaboration with the MINI design team, BMW Group subsidiary Designworks provided creative impetus with unconventional ideas for the project. Deus’ Creative Director, Carby Tuckwell and his wider creative cohort oversaw the striking exterior graphics of the unique cars - led by Matt Willey – and complimented the work - an outcome that truly reflects extraordinary design dynamics and remarkable solutions across the two vehicles.

Deus x Matt Willey: The fascination of historic racing.
Deus’ Carby Tuckwell and Matt Willey have been working together since 2015. United by their fascination with classic motorsport liveries, they created a historic Mini Cooper S racing car in 2023 with a special paint finish designed by Willey. The design references the glorious and victorious history of the classic Mini at the Monte Carlo Rally, including the number 37, with which Paddy Hopkirk started in 1964 and achieved the British small car's first overall victory in the most famous of all rallies.

Munich. “RELAX. WE CARE.” – this is the new service promise now also at MINI, which applies in all participating markets* and qualified vehicles thanks to the innovative offering “Proactive Care.” The vehicle acts like a digital concierge, recognising existing and predictable service needs and proactively reaching out to the customer with proposed solutions.
“With the introduction of Proactive Care at MINI, we are now implementing our service promise ‘RELAX. WE CARE.’ in the premium segment of small and compact cars. Our offering acts as a digital concierge, proactively analysing all service needs and providing timely support to our customers. This ensures that our customers are always well-informed and that potential needs are identified early,” says Ralf Hattler, Senior Vice President Customer Support and Aftersales.
Tyre diagnostics, error messages and much more: if sensors in the car detect a service need, the customer is proactively informed about potential faults and upcoming maintenance before it becomes urgent. The customer receives tailored solution proposals: depending on their preference, via the MINI app, through in-car messages, by email, SMS, or phone, through their preferred dealer, or even by a call from roadside assistance. If a workshop visit is necessary, a contact option to the preferred MINI service partner is provided, who can conduct a remote diagnosis based on the service need report. Completed work, costs, and handover appointments are transparently viewable and manageable at any time and from anywhere.

MINI Service with Proactive Care: Customer Satisfaction at the Forefront.
Whereas previously customers approached their MINI service partner, this principle is reversed with MINI Service with Proactive Care – creating a completely new service experience that places customer satisfaction even more firmly at the centre. For MINI drivers, this means one thing above all: they can fully concentrate on the joy of driving. To do this, it is necessary to download the MINI app and activate the MINI Connected contract.
In the next step, the vehicle must be registered, and the preferred MINI service partner and contact details entered. To fully experience MINI Service with Proactive Care, consent to the data protection regulations, activation of push notifications in the MINI app, and agreement to communication from BMW AG or the service partner are required.

Greatest Focus on Data Protection.
The BMW Group places the utmost importance on data protection and data security, particularly regarding personal data. Therefore, information is collected specifically and precisely for the relevant services. This is done in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation and in compliance with national laws such as the Federal Data Protection Act.
Following the launch in Italy and the United Kingdom at the beginning of 2025, Germany, Korea, Spain, and the Benelux countries followed in the second quarter. The introduction will also take place in France, China and the USA in the second half of the year.

Campaign Showcases MINI in Scotland – Thanks to Artificial Intelligence.
The current advertising campaign for MINI's new service promise is set in the Scottish Highlands, in true British style and will be presented at the IAA. For the production, neither a MINI nor a photo and film crew was needed: the images are generated by artificial intelligence. The campaign will be rolled out globally starting in October.

At the IAA Mobility in Munich from 9 to 14 September, MINI will transform the city into its own stage at two well-known locations: an impressive Open Space at Max-Joseph-Platz, and a central brand appearance in the MINI Pavillion at Lenbachplatz, presenting MINI’s brand DNA at the world's largest mobility event. The highlight is the world premiere of two exclusive JCW showcars, created as part of an exciting collaboration.

MINI Pavillion: MINI unveils exclusive JCW showcars.
MINI's racing background is not only evident from its recent success at the 24-hour race at the Nürburgring: motorsport has been part of the brand's essence from the very beginning. As part of the IAA, two unique MINI John Cooper Works showcars are celebrating their world premiere, the result of an inspiring collaboration.
For the duration of the IAA, the MINI Pavillion puts the models centre stage in a spectacular display. The showcars, which combine the brand's unmistakable racing enthusiasm with the spirit of a world-famous lifestyle brand, can be admired at Lenbachplatz. For this, the MINI Pavillion will be extensively remodeled, and dedicated entirely to the John Cooper Works brand.

MINI at Open Space: Heritage and humour at Max-Joseph-Platz.
A metropolis within a metropolis: With its appearance at the Open Space, MINI brings the vibrant city centre of London to the noble Max-Joseph-Platz in Munich's old town. An elaborately staged backdrop recreates the heart of the city and presents the brand’s British identity, including its humour in many details.

With the Bayerische Staatsoper and the Residenztheater in the background, the focus of Open Space is the all-electric models of the new MINI family, the high-performance MINI John Cooper Works Electric, MINI Service and MINI Experience Modes. 
With the MINI John Cooper Works Electric, MINI Aceman SE and MINI Countryman SE ALL 4, visitors will be able to experience three all-electric MINI models up close. Max-Joseph-Platz is also the starting point for test drives in cooperation with SIXT: true to the motto "Only MINI Can Do", visitors can take all-electric MINIs from the new MINI family out onto the city's streets from here.

MINI at the IAA: Community Day unites fans of the brand.
Fans of MINI can also become part of the IAA Mobility this year: at the "Community Day" on 13 September, MINI clubs will come together for a drive with their personal MINIs. Starting at Gut Kaltenbrunn on Lake Tegernsee, the route leads through Munich and ends with an inspiring get-together with music, BBQ and dialogue with the community in the MINI Pavillion.

The IAA: a platform for experts and enthusiasts.
As one of the largest and most important international automotive trade fairs, the International Motor Show (IAA) offers manufacturers, journalists and other enthusiasts a platform for dialogue on the topics of mobility, innovation and technology every two years. The IAA Mobility 2025 is organised under the slogan "It's All About Mobility". As part of the event, innovations and concepts will be presented in four formats - at the IAA Summit, the IAA Conference, the IAA Open Space and the IAA Experience - as well as at MINI in the MINI Pavillion at Lenbachplatz. Munich. The BMW Group has brought the Dentsu media agency on board to kickstart its new European media strategy for the BMW, MINI and BMW Motorrad brands. From 1 January 2026, Dentsu will also support the BMW Group globally. This means that the expertise of Dentsu – one of the world’s leading marketing and communications agencies – will be used to create a uniform and powerful media presence. As part of the new constellation, media and marketing approaches are being adapted to the requirements of digitalisation and sustainability. The focus here is on artificial intelligence (AI), centralised data management, hybrid teams and integrated platforms (media hubs). The aim is to make campaigns more efficient, more targeted and more responsible.

Tailor-made communications for the Neue Klasse era.
The aim of the call for tenders was to ensure seamless, brand-compliant BMW Group communications across all media channels – at both the national and international level. Awarding the European media business to Dentsu is an important step towards implementing the European media strategy. The consolidation of media activities forms the basis of a standardised solution across all of Europe. The launch of the new agency constellation coincides with the market launch of the Neue Klasse and marks a new era, characterised by highly innovative vehicle technologies on the one hand and a fundamentally new understanding of the brand and communications on the other. The new media approach reflects this transformation.

AI-controlled, with a centralised European media hub.

The comprehensive use of artificial intelligence will be a key factor. Advanced AI tools will bring even greater precision to media planning. Target groups will be recognised and reached more accurately and decisions made on the basis of concrete data – measurable performance indicators. This will verifiably increase the real-time effectiveness and efficiency of advertising across all customer touchpoints.

Another key element of the new set-up is the creation of an integrated media hub. Online and offline media will be seamlessly combined on this platform. This enables cross-channel synergies to be recognised and exploited. It helps ensure transparency and makes for efficient planning and implementation. Centralisation enables consolidated control of all activities and channels as well as centralised data analysis. Even so, there will always be room for localisation: national market conditions and cultural specifics – and differentiated responses to them – are additional factors for success.

Integration of all BMW Group brands.

The new media strategy follows a multi-brand approach: BMW, MINI and BMW Motorrad will be looked at in combination. This creates new opportunities for optimisation across the various media, supported by hybrid teams combining on‑shore, near-shore and off-shore expertise. This know-how from many international markets creates additional flexibility and quality in implementation and is a response to the rapidly changing requirements in the international media business.

Customer focus: media optimisation along the entire customer journey.
The new model consistently focuses on the customer journey – from the first impulse, the first encounter, all the way to vehicle purchase. Target groups are addressed more precisely, delivering even greater emotional and situation-specific impact. The transition to a more performance-focused planning approach, where factors such as real-time data and sales targets play a key role, significantly increases the measurable impact of media communications. At the same time, the planning approach supports direct sales and aids the transformation towards a sustainable retail model.

Sustainability and responsibility in media communications.
Another key consideration in the BMW Group’s choice of agency partner was sustainability. This aspect was systematically integrated into the evaluation of potential agency partners. Examples include production processes marked by a reduced carbon footprint and ethically transparent media bookings.

Munich. The BMW Group is now offering customers even broader scope for personalising analysis of their driving stats in the My BMW App and MINI App. The latest update allows drivers to view their personal carbon footprint for the first time.

“Our usage research shows: The information in My Trips is one of the most popular features in the app,” says Dirk Wiedmann, Senior Vice President Sales Steering and Strategy, Digitalization. “We are now expanding this successful function with carbon footprint calculation, giving our customers simple and straightforward access to sustainability-related information via a popular and widely used channel.”

Emissions from vehicle production and use: two sets of figures make up the driver’s personal footprint. 
The personal carbon footprint function has been designed with a technology-open approach and is available for vehicles with combustion engines, as well as plug-in hybrid and fully electric models. At launch, this feature will be rolled out across selected models in various European countries*. Calculation of the personal footprint is based on two central sets of figures.

• Emissions from vehicle use: My Trips analyses the routes the driver has completed and uses the energy consumed in the process to work out the CO₂ emitted. To this end, CO₂ equivalents are calculated using data from the International Energy Agency (IEA). For vehicles with combustion engines, the app calculates the amount of CO₂ emitted based on the fuel consumed. For battery-electric vehicles, it shows the emissions generated when using the average national energy mix – and also tells the driver how high emissions would be by comparison if green energy was used.
• Emissions from vehicle production: These are emissions generated during the manufacturing process. Emissions are recorded from the processing of raw materials, procurement of materials, transport logistics and the production of the model at hand. The BMW Group already sets out the emissions figures for numerous models in the form of Vehicle Footprint Reports. These are calculated according to recognised standards for life cycle assessments and certified by the TÜV Rheinland agency. They can also be downloaded from the BMW Group website.

Ready for electric mobility: My BMW App helps with the transition.

The My BMW App also includes the Electric Vehicle Analysis introduced last summer. This function allows customers whose BMW is powered by a combustion engine to simulate how well a fully electric BMW fits their personal driving profile. Here, the customer selects an electric BMW model as an alternative vehicle in the app. Once the combustion-engined model has made at least 200 journeys and covered a distance of 2,000 kilometres (over 1,240 miles), the analysis shows the journeys the user could have completed on a single charge with the electric vehicle selected, and also flags up charging stations close to frequently visited destinations. More than 100,000 customers had used this analysis by May 2025.

Over 14 million customers around the world use the My BMW App and MINI App. The My Trips function is available in more than 90 countries and is actively used by 1.9 million users.

* The new function is available to users of vehicles for which a TÜV-certified carbon footprint has been calculated. Nürburg. Sensational result for MINI John Cooper Works and Bulldog Racing at the 24 hours of  Nürburgring: at the end of an exciting race weekend, the team achieved second place in the SP3T class - behind the BMW M2 Racing.

With 111 laps and over 2,700 kilometers completed over a 24-hour period, the crew impressively demonstrated the engineering skills of the MINI brand - and showed real team spirit in one of the toughest challenges in motor racing.

Following last year's class victory and second place in 2023, this is the third podium finish in a row for the MINI John Cooper Works and Bulldog Racing team in the highly competitive SP3T class.

The cockpit team of Samantha Tan (CAN), Toby Goodman (GBR), Sebastian Sauerbrei (GER) and Markus Fischer (AUT) in the MINI John Cooper Works not only proved their driving skills and stamina in the “Green Hell” - but also real nerves of steel: After a successful start, the 24-hour race had to be interrupted on Saturday afternoon due to a power failure: The restart only took place after around two hours at 7:45 pm. With full focus, the driver team continued the race through the shortest night of the year - and made up over 60 places in the overall standings over the course of the race.

As in the previous year, Markus Fischer drove the team's fastest lap. With a strong lap time of 10:02, he was even able to beat last year's fastest lap. It was the first 24 hours of Nürburgring for Samantha Tan and Toby Goodman - and a successful premiere with second place in the SP3T class.

It was not only with sensational lap times and impressive endurance that the MINI 24-hour race car earned the respect of competitors and spectators at the Nürburgring: thanks to its exterior skin designed exclusively with the fashion and lifestyle brand Deus Ex Machina, the MINI John Cooper Works was a highlight of the race weekend even before the start.

280,000 fans cheered on the teams at the 24-hour race at the Nürburgring - a new record. This makes the race one of the most popular motorsport events in the world again this year. There was also a lot of action off the track: some racing enthusiasts stayed up late into the night with the teams and celebrated the drivers at the 53rd edition of the legendary Eifel classic - around the clock.

We congratulate our colleagues from ROWE Racing with the BMW M4 GT3 Evo on their overall victory and first place in the SP3T class with the BMW M2 Racing.

Nürburg. 24 hours and over 130 racing cars on the 25.378-kilometre Nürburgring: the MINI John Cooper Works and Bulldog Racing cockpit for the 2025 24-hour race in the ‘Green Hell’ is manned by four excellent racing professionals. Among them: True Nürburgring connoisseurs and young talents:

• Samantha Tan (CAN) is a champion racing driver and team owner of ‘Samantha Tan Racing’ at just 27 years old. Her involvement as a driver for MINI John Cooper Works and Bulldog Racing is a spectacular premiere at the 24 Hours Race at the Nürburgring. Tan has celebrated international sporting successes in the 24H Series, the 12H Mugello, GT World Challenge America and GT World Challenge Europe. With hundreds of thousands of global fans and followers, she is an idol inspiring the next generation to chase their dreams fearlessly. Her expansive experience in challenging endurance races provides the perfect conditions for the Canadian to compete in this year's 24 Hours Race at the Nürburgring.
  
  
• Markus Fischer (AUT) could achieve his second consecutive class victory in the ‘Green Hell’ after 2024. Fischer set the fastest lap in his team in the #317 MINI John Cooper Works Pro in 2024. The 24 Hours Race is always a ‘highlight of the season’ for the Austrian.
  
  
• Sebastian Sauerbrei (GER) knows the Nürburgring and the 24 Hours Race like no other - even in challenging conditions. His experience, which he has gained on many test kilometres on the race track, should pay off again this year for the experienced racing driver and the MINI and Bulldog Racing team.
  
  
• Toby Goodman (GBR) can already look back on impressive successes at the age of 23 - including at the Nürburgring. He started his racing career at the age of ten. In his racing debut, Goodman drove to a sensational third place in the MINI Challenge Trophy in 2018. Since then, the Brit has regularly secured coveted podium finishes, including in the challenging endurance series.

Nürburg. It is one of the most spectacular events on the racing calendar: the 24 Hours Race at the Nürburgring enters its 53rd round in 2025. Around 130 racing cars compete in various classes on one of the longest racetracks in the world. 24 hours, around the clock. MINI John Cooper Works, together with the Bulldog Racing Team, is once again bringing a racing car to the starting line after last year's brilliant class victory - and after intensive preparations is ready for the ultimate endurance test on the 25.378 kilometre long circuit of the ‘Green Hell’.

MINI JCW x Deus: On the starting line with an exclusive livery.
For this year's 24-hour race, the high-performance focus of MINI John Cooper Works will be combined with the passion and craftsmanship of Deus Ex Machina: At the starting line, the MINI John Cooper Works race car will cause a stir and be the first highlight of the race with a specially designed livery by Deus Ex Machina.
The racing car is equipped with original MINI John Cooper Works accessories, such as the JCW roof edge spoiler attachment, sporty JCW front, side skirts and rear winglets as well as the MINI JCW trim for the C-pillar. The aerodynamic and exterior components, which are also available for the standard vehicle, create a maximum racing feeling and give the vehicle an individual and high-quality appearance. The exclusive components in high-gloss black and the MINI JCW tow strip complement the consistent look of the MINI JCW x Deus racing car.
The fact that MINI John Cooper Works and the Bulldog Racing team can celebrate success together was impressively demonstrated last year: In 2024, the #317 MINI John Cooper Works Pro triumphed in the SP-3T class at the Nürburgring in the 24-hour race. Last year's victory is just the latest chapter in MINI's rich racing history - and is set to continue successfully in 2025.

Hundreds of thousands expected at the race track.
As the enthusiasm, anticipation and excitement for the 24 Hours Race at the Nürburgring grows once again, John Cooper Works and Bulldog Racing are lining up to reignite the same excitement among fans and motorsport enthusiasts on the track. Nice. A lot of space in a small area and impressive driving pleasure with high everyday efficiency - these do not have to be contradictory: The MINI Aceman E creates these connections in a unique way. The all-electric crossover is the latest MINI model and, in terms of its proportions, occupies its very own place between the MINI Cooper and the MINI Countryman. Its drive and urban character make the Aceman an unmistakable member of the MINI family.

Compact crossover with room for everyone and everything.
With a length of just over four metres, the manoeuvrable MINI Aceman is ideal for city traffic. Thanks to the typical MINI design principle of ‘Clever Use of Space’, the interior offers comfortable space for up to five people. The versatile luggage compartment with a load volume of 300 litres can be easily extended to up to 1,005 litres, so that shopping and sports equipment can be stowed away just as easily as luggage and more. A practical everyday companion - with space for everything and everyone.

The design language of the body of the MINI Aceman is characterised by compact proportions and clear lines and edges. The brand-typical front end has been rethought for this model: the octagonal radiator grille with its extended surround extends into the lower section of the front apron. The striking headlights complement the expressive appearance and create a high recognition value. The strikingly angular profile of the MINI Aceman from the front creates a sporty presence. Its strikingly flared wheels with 18-inch Slide 2-tone rims and the standard roof rails emphasise the adventurous spirit of the crossover even beyond the city limits.

Electrifying appearance with 184 all-electric horsepowers.
Agility and driving pleasure are in the DNA of the MINI brand. This also applies to the MINI Aceman E: with the 184 hp (135 kW) electric motor, the sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in just 7.9 seconds and a top speed of 160 km/h (electricity consumption combined: 14,7 – 14,1 kWh/100 km according to WLTP; CO2 emissions combined: 0 g/km; CO2-class: A; Range in km according to WLTP: 298 - 309). The crossover responds powerfully when the accelerator pedal is pressed: the power output of the electric drive has been tuned for sporty driving behaviour.
The Aceman also remains in the tradition of the MINI family when it comes to driving dynamics: the sporty chassis creates a real go-kart feeling. Direct steering and precise brakes ensure driving fun with full vehicle control.

Longer adventures thanks to range and fast charging.
Thanks to its range of 309 kilometres determined in the WLTP test cycle, the MINI Aceman E is not only the perfect companion in urban environments: with the powerful 42.5 kWh battery, longer adventures are also possible with the all-electric drive. The all-electric four-door model can be charged both in public spaces and conveniently at home.
Innovative technologies optimise the flexible charging of the battery: the starting time and time window as well as a specific target value for the battery capacity can be precisely determined with little effort. For a comfortable start to the journey, the vehicle can not only be charged up to a specified time, but can also be air-conditioned to the desired temperature. The charging process, including charging time, costs and battery status, can be conveniently tracked at any time from anywhere using the MINI app.

Four trims ensure a personalised appearance.
Numerous expressive paint finishes and up to three different contrasting colours for the roof enable individual configurations and a unique MINI Aceman for every aesthetic. Four different trims can be used to give the model an additional individual expression: Essential Trim, Classic Trim and Favoured Trim each highlight different vehicle components in particular.  The John Cooper Works Trim gives the MINI Aceman a motorsport look with its own front and rear design, all-round trim in high-gloss black and numerous accents in Chilli Red.
Inside, the MINI Aceman is characterised by a reduction to the essentials and a rounded design language. With the compact steering wheel, the round central instrument and the characteristic toggle switch strip, the interior is clearly in the tradition of the classic MINI interior. High-contrast textile surfaces and comfortable seats round off the high-quality interior appointments. From here, adventures can be experienced comfortably and clearly - in the city and beyond.

Nice. Picturesque villages and wild beaches make the Côte d'Azur a place of longing for artists, travellers and celebrities. Even before the port city of Cannes rolls out the red carpet for the annual film festival in May and holidaymakers populate the beaches in the summer months, the first rays of sunshine awaken the French Riviera from its winter slumber early in the year.
The MINI John Cooper Works Convertible (combined fuel consumption: 7.1 – 6.8/100 km; CO2 emissions combined: 161 - 155 g/km according to WLTP) turns the impressive Mediterranean landscape into a backdrop for motorsport feeling in the open air. With its typical go-kart dynamics and compact exterior dimensions, the convertible is ideal in an urban environment. Past olive groves and pine forests, the open top allows the driver to experience speed, freedom and nature up close - in keeping with the ‘Always Open’ philosophy of the MINI Convertible.

A powerful 2.0-litre four-cylinder twin-turbo petrol engine with a displacement of 1,998 cc gives the MINI John Cooper Works Convertible its sporty drive. With an output of 231 hp (170 kW) and a maximum torque of 380 Nm, the engine offers impressive driving dynamics and accelerates the model from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.4 seconds, reaching a top speed of 245 km/h. The 7-speed automatic transmission with dual clutch enables fast gear changes for even more forward momentum. Shift paddles on the steering wheel allow the driver to change gear with individual precision without having to take their hands off the wheel.
The soft top is available in black or with a grey Union Jack pattern. It can be fully opened in just 18 seconds and at speeds of up to 30 km/h. In addition, the soft top can be opened to a length of 40 cm like a sunroof at any speed: This offers the driver and passengers an additional, exclusive option for open-air driving. The windscreen reduces unwanted air turbulence and wind noise in just a few simple steps for relaxed open-air driving pleasure at all times. With the practical and playful Always Open Timer, the OLED display in the cockpit shows how many hours you have been driving with the roof open.

Motorsport character in the interior and exterior.
The MINI John Cooper Works Convertible also stands out on the lively promenades of the region's hotspots thanks to its striking appearance. Air intakes and mirror caps in Chilli Red add sporty highlights to the classic British Racing Green paintwork. The front grille and side skirts in high-gloss black and the MINI LED headlights with horizontal daytime running lights in the JCW signature ensure a purist look. Exclusively on the MINI John Cooper Works Convertible, the rear diffuser is painted in body colour, continuing the consistent design language. Sporty bonnet stripes emphasize this: The MINI John Cooper Works Convertible is clearly part of the brand's racing tradition.
The consistent design is also continued in the interior: JCW sports seats in red and black guarantee optimum support, while the sports steering wheel in JCW design gives the driver precise control and a racing look. With the exclusive Harman Kardon surround sound system fitted as standard, every journey has its own sonorous soundtrack. The clearly designed cockpit with the high-resolution OLED display as the central instrument provides an overview of all relevant vehicle data at all times. The climate, media, telephone and navigation settings, among others, can be operated intuitively via touch or voice control.

Assistance systems for driving pleasure and personal style.
Advanced assistance systems in the MINI John Cooper Works Convertible combine driving pleasure with safety and comfort. Twelve ultrasonic sensors and four surround view cameras take the strain off the driver when navigating safely, making it easier to concentrate on the essentials - the ‘Always Open’ feeling in the convertible.
Seven MINI Experience Modes create a suitable ambience for every mood in the interior: while the Go-kart Mode for sporty driving, for example, emphasizes the racing character with matching analogue displays and a red and black look, the Green Mode optimizes fuel consumption and emissions for relaxed cruising with the top down.

The MINI Cooper Convertible is the perfect companion for open-air driving adventures. The fully electric roof, which opens in just 18 seconds even at speeds of up to 30 km/h, enables a summery open-air feeling while driving. The large octagonal high-gloss black front grille with the tricolor John Cooper Works logo and the MINI LED headlights with horizontal daytime running lights in the JCW signature give the front of the MINI John Cooper Works its purist character. The hood stripes, exterior mirror caps, and roof in the exclusive contrasting color Chili Red set stylish accents on the Nanuq White paint finish. The latest assistance systems also ensure safe and relaxed driving in the MINI John Cooper Works. Twelve ultrasonic sensors and four surround cameras assist with speed, distance, lane keeping or parking. The newly designed MINI navigation with 3D visualization and augmented view brings driver and passenger to their destination stress-free - even in the urban jungle of New York City.

Munich. MINI John Cooper Works will compete again at this year's 53rd edition of the 24 Hours race at the Nürburgring. Last year, MINI achieved a spectacular triumph in the SP-3T class of the race with the near-production #317 MINI John Cooper Works Pro. The so-called "Green Hell" offers one of the toughest tests in motorsport with fast straights, demanding curves, and significant elevation changes. The successful cooperation with the Bulldog Racing Team will also continue this year.

MINI x DEUS: Spectacular Appearance.
At the starting line of this year's race, the MINI John Cooper Works will attract attention with a specially designed livery, while the Bulldog Racing Team will be exclusively dressed in the brands new season collection. The partnership is a glimpse into something the two brands MINI x DEUS are building toward.

Racing DNA meets exclusive design.
For this year's 24 Hours race at the Nürburgring, the high-performance orientation of MINI John Cooper Works is combined with the passion and craftsmanship of Deus Ex Machina. The design team has pursued a consistent black and white approach in the design of the vehicle livery. The enlarged "DEUS" logo dominates the design as a graphic element and becomes more than just a wordmark. The unconventional, playful handling of the brand presence is typical of DEUS and gives the MINI 24 Hours race car its visual identity this year. The reduced black and white color scheme ensures that additional elements such as starting numbers or team logos are harmoniously integrated into the overall image. Hand-drawn logos on windows and other surfaces underline the raw, conceptual character of the race car, making it appear like a "moving sketchbook". This is intended to suggest that the Nürburgring 24 Hours race car is just a foretaste. It is the perfect first milestone in the MINI x DEUS cooperation.

For the design of the race car livery, MINI Design collaborated with Designworks. The BMW Group subsidiary has elaborated the creative idea of DEUS in detail. "Successful brand collaborations arise when partners inspire and drive each other forward. With DEUS, MINI and Designworks, we were able to unleash a remarkable design dynamic. The DEUS livery of the MINI John Cooper Works at the 24-hour race at the Nürburgring is just the first proof of this," says Holger Hampf, Head of MINI Design.

MINI Continues Its Racing Heritage.
With its appearance, MINI is continuing its long-standing racing heritage. The brand has been considered an underdog in motorsports from the very beginning - and yet it has written motorsport history. The 1964 Monte Carlo Rally became a shining moment for the British Outsider. With its transversely mounted front engine and front-wheel drive, the classic Mini was the epitome of a practical small car - and proved to be a successful race car thanks to the ingenious racing engineer John Cooper. The victory in the Monte Carlo Rally was not a mere whim of fate, but the result of meticulous work. This was followed by two more victories in the famous rally in 1965 and 1967. The tradition and passion for MINI's racing heritage is still palpable and tangible in the current models. Munich/Shanghai. This year's Auto Shanghai has plenty in store for MINI fans. From icons like the MINI Cooper 3-Door and the Cooper 5-Door all the way to the newest member of the MINI family, the MINI Aceman, MINI enthusiasts can admire the full range of the brand's product portfolio from 23^rd April to 2^nd May.

This year’s focus is on the MINI John Cooper Works sub-brand. A racing-oriented area, entirely in red, imbues the high-performance segment with its unique dynamic. It unmistakably reflects the brand's motorsport DNA.

MINI John Cooper Works: Born on the racetrack, raised on the streets .
In its motor show appearance, MINI is particularly highlighting the new generation of John Cooper Works models. At the same time, it is honouring the brand's motorsport history. A classic Mini that was used in the legendary Monte Carlo Rally will be displayed on the highlight area. Additionally, the MINI John Cooper Works Pro, which won its class at the legendary 24 hours race on the Nürburgring last year, will be displayed.

John Cooper Works now also fully electric.
MINI is presenting the first two fully John Cooper Works models. With the MINI John Cooper Works Electric and the MINI John Cooper Works Aceman, racing enthusiasts now have the choice between two fully electric high-performance models for the first time. Through their powerful electric powertrains, they embody MINI's ongoing pursuit of performance and innovation. The electric boost function provides an additional 20kW of power, giving the models an especially high-performance drive.

MINI John Cooper Works Aceman. 
The MINI JCW Aceman combines electric high performance with creative use of space. The progressive design of the newest member of the MINI family transports the brand's core idea into the present: maximising the interior space within a minimum footprint, combined with an innovative drive concept.  The John Cooper Works variant of the MINI Aceman achieves a top speed of 200 km/h and sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.4 seconds. Visitors can once again interactively experience the MINI Experience Modes around the all-electric MINI John Cooper Works Aceman. The focus here is on the new John Cooper Works Mode, which exclusively transfers MINI's motorsport DNA into the JCW models.

The MINI John Cooper Works Countryman ALL4: Sporty Performance meets thoughtful comfort.
The largest member of the John Cooper Works family, the MINI JCW Countryman ALL4 in traditional British Racing Green reminds of the brand's motorsport history and stands out with its impressive interior space. The generous rear-seat legroom in the model provides passengers in the back with ample space. The versatile luggage compartment creates more room for a sporty adventure.

Also on display: the MINI Cooper Convertible.
As the most emotional model in the MINI family, the MINI Cooper Convertible is celebrating its motor show premiere at Auto Shanghai 2025. The open Four-Seater embodies MINI's openness and is therefore fully in line with its 'Always Open' philosophy. Thanks to the powerful four-cylinder petrol engine and the open-top roof, the MINI Cooper Convertible S provides an unmistakable open-air driving experience.

The powerful 2.0-litre four-cylinder TwinPower Turbo engine with an output of 221 kW/300 hp guarantees MINI-typical driving pleasure on any terrain. With a maximum torque of 400 Nm and a top speed of 250 km/h, the MINI JCW Countryman ALL4 proves its performance. The all-wheel drive distributes the power precisely and reliably, providing the sporty crossover model with sufficient grip and traction even in challenging conditions.
With an additional 13 centimetres in length and eight centimetres in height compared to its predecessor, the MINI Countryman provides ample space for up to five passengers. The rear seat, which can be shifted by up to 13 centimetres and folded down, allows the luggage compartment volume to be conveniently and easily adjusted from 450 litres up to 1460 litres. The interior benefits from a panoramic glass roof, which provides additional brightness and all-round visibility.
