"With the new BMW F 450 GS, BMW Motorrad presents a
genuine BMW GS in the
48 hp A2 class. It embodies
the essence of a GS: Get on, twist the throttle, have fun - with
full control and maximum confidence.
Its low weight, superior performance and perfect balance
between agility and stability ensure a particularly intuitive riding
experience. Thanks to its precise handling and typical GS expertise,
it performs impressively both on and off the road. The F 450 GS is
the perfect
'best buddy' for every riding
situation. It is uncomplicated, robust, and always ready. It sets
the benchmark for sporty adventure bikes in its class."
Markus Flasch, CEO BMW Motorrad

The new BMW F 450 GS: BMW GS expertise in the 48 hp A2 class
in the iconic
BMW GS design.
The new BMW F 450 GS marks the next step in the
GS model family, specifically addressing the 48 hp A2 class with
proven GS technology and iconic design.

At the EICMA international motorcycle show, BMW Motorrad gave a
preview of a fully-fledged GS model already in 2024, which
specifically addresses the steadily growing market segment of
medium-sized displacement motorcycles.

The series version of the BMW F 450 GS consistently lives up to this
claim: It is a versatile all-rounder that combines everyday usability,
sporty dynamic performance, touring comfort, and off-road
capabilities. In the "GS Trophy" equipment variant, it
follows in the footsteps of the concept vehicle. It adopts its
striking design language and high-quality, high-tech components,
including magnesium parts for maximum performance and low weight.

With its balanced power-to-torque ratio, low weight, and
characteristic GS ergonomics, the F 450 GS provides riding fun and
confidence from the first meter. The new F 450 GS thus combines the
classic GS spirit with a modern, accessible, and simultaneously
powerful approach.

"With the BMW F 450 GS, we are addressing a particularly broad
target audience. This motorcycle is aimed at anyone who values
maximum agility, versatility, pure riding pleasure, and cutting-edge
technology – regardless of whether they are on the road every day, on
long tours, or simply looking for a light, dynamic, and uncomplicated
bike. The current trend toward downsizing, i.e., switching from heavy
motorcycles to compact and versatile machines, demonstrates the great
interest in this segment. The F 450 GS offers the ideal combination of
playful handling, maneuverability, riding dynamics, and high-quality
equipment – without compromising on quality or technical
performance.”
Astrid Neudecker, Product Manager BMW
F 450 GS

The BMW Easy Ride Clutch (ERC) is a technical highlight and a further
development of a centrifugal clutch. This system eliminates the need
to manually operate the clutch lever while riding. This applies to all
situations, from starting off and changing gears to demanding off-road
maneuvers. BMW Motorrad is setting a new standard in this vehicle class.

A range of attractive options will be added at the time of market
launch: The F 450 GS can be equipped with an Akrapovic end muffler and
original BMW Motorrad cross-spoke wheels on request. The result is a
package that combines sporty dynamic performance, technical innovation
and GS DNA perfectly.

Performance developed from scratch: A confident companion for
both road and
off-road riding.
The completely redesigned BMW F 450 GS is a
sporty adventure bike that complements the current BMW Motorrad model
portfolio, with developers focusing on excellent handling
characteristics, strong performance, durability, and optimum accessibility.

The design focuses on the consistent implementation of the current GS
design language. With iconic features such as the LED headlight with
"X" daytime riding light and the distinctive flyline, the
bike's affiliation with the BMW Motorrad GS family is clear at first glance.

Completely redesigned, smooth-running and characterful
two-cylinder in-line engine with 135-degree crankpin offset for
dynamic riding pleasure on asphalt and off-road.
At the heart of the new BMW F 450 GS is a
completely newly developed two-cylinder in-line engine with fuel
injection and a stainless steel exhaust system on the right-hand side.
The new F 450 GS impresses with its powerful performance and pulling
power, delivering a power output of 35 kW (48 hp) at 8,750 rpm and a
maximum torque of 43 Nm at
6,750 rpm.
Thanks to
the use of high-tech materials and optimized internal friction, these
performance values are achieved with exactly 420 cm³. This makes the
engine one of the most compact and powerful in the A2 two-cylinder
segment. It not only meets the strict EU5+ requirements but is also
particularly economical, consuming just 3.8 liters per 100 km. A range
of over 350 km can be achieved in conjunction with the 14-liter tank.
The maintenance interval is the standard 10,000 km for BMW motorcycles.

Unique on the motorcycle market, the engine features a crankshaft
with crankpins offset by 135 degrees and, in conjunction with a single
balance shaft, sets a technical exclamation mark: this design ensures
a characterful, emotional ride while simultaneously reducing unwanted
vibrations to an exceptionally low level.

Easy Ride Clutch (ERC) for a significant increase in dynamics,
operating comfort, and riding comfort.
A
technical highlight of the new BMW F 450 GS is the Easy Ride Clutch
(ERC). Its core is a precision centrifugal unit in the clutch, which
engages the clutch depending on engine speed.

This system is standard on the GS Trophy variant and available as an
optional accessory for all other model variants. In combination with
the Shift Assistant Pro, manual operation of the clutch lever is
completely eliminated – from starting off and gear changes to
demanding maneuvers.

The clutch lever, however, remains intact and allows the rider to
intervene manually at any time if necessary – for example, to lift the
front wheel over an obstacle or to improve control when descending on
slippery surfaces.

Technologically, the ERC is based on an advanced centrifugal clutch.
Unlike conventional systems, it remains closed during overrun. This
creates natural, familiar, and predictable handling at all times –
comparable to a conventional clutch. The engine brake remains fully
active until just before a stop; only when the idle speed is reached
does the ERC automatically open, reliably preventing the engine from stalling.

The system ensures greater dynamics, control, and comfort – whether
maneuvering, in city traffic, on winding roads, or off-road.

Six-speed transmission and left-mounted secondary drive. Shift
Assistant Pro for quick upshifts and downshifts without clutch
operation.
The likewise newly designed
six-speed transmission transmits torque to the left-hand secondary
drive via an X-ring chain.
For fast upshifts and downshifts
without clutch operation, the new F 450 GS is offered with Shift
Assistant Pro in all equipment variants except the basic variant. This
can be retrofitted to the basic version.

"Rain," "Road," and "Enduro"
riding modes, as well as ABS Pro, DBC, DTC, and MSR (engine drag
control), are standard features for a high level of riding enjoyment
and safety. An additional "Enduro Pro" riding mode is
available starting with the Exclusive trim variant.
The BMW F 450 GS offers three riding modes as
standard: "Rain", "Road" and "Enduro",
allowing the motorcycle to be adapted to suit individual preferences.
Standard equipment also includes ABS Pro, Dynamic Brake Control (DBC),
Dynamic Traction Control (DTC) and engine drag torque control (MSR).

The additional “Enduro Pro” mode, which is used from the Exclusive
equipment variant onwards, is designed for off-road use with
coarse-tread off-road tires and allows the ABS on the rear wheel to be deactivated.

Newly developed chassis with tubular steel frame for optimal
rigidity, robustness, and driving precision. Short wheelbase for
agile and playful handling.
The new BMW F
450 GS also features a completely new chassis concept. Playful
handling, optimum accessibility, high riding precision and riding
stability were the developers' top priorities. The specially developed
lattice-tube frame of the
BMW F 450 GS consists of
welded steel tubes and forged parts. The frame integrates the
two-cylinder in-line engine as a supporting element and is designed to
be lightweight yet robust.

The front wheel is guided via KYB upside-down telescopic
forks, while the rear wheel is guided via an aluminum hollow cast
double armed swinging arm with a KYB central spring strut featuring
progressive damping.
Front wheel control
is provided by a torsionally rigid KYB upside-down telescopic fork
with a 43 mm inner tube diameter. The Sport and GS Trophy variants
feature the so-called "sports suspension." The fork is
adjustable for rebound and compression damping. Rear wheel control is
provided by a closed, and therefore extremely torsionally rigid, yet
lightweight, hollow-cast aluminum double-sided swing arm, coupled with
a directly connected KYB central spring strut (adjustable spring
preload and rebound damping) with travel-dependent damping derived
from rally racing, a unique feature in this segment.

Wheels and tires tailored to the typical BMW GS
applications.
The new BMW F 450 GS
features lightweight yet robust cast aluminum wheels. It is fitted
with tubeless tires for road and off-road use, sized 100/90-19 at the
front and
130/80-17 at the rear. Additionally, the
Original BMW Motorrad Accessories range offers cross-spoke wheels.

A powerful braking system combined with BMW Motorrad ABS Pro
ensures safe braking even when leaning. Dynamic Brake Control (DBC)
and Dynamic Brake Light are additional safety features.
The front wheel of the new BMW F 450 GS
features a floating single-disc brake with a Brembo 4-piston fixed
caliper and a 310 mm brake disc diameter for superior, stable
deceleration. A single disc brake with 1-piston floating caliper and
240 mm diameter is used on the rear wheel.

The new BMW F 450 GS already comes standard with BMW Motorrad ABS
Pro. ABS Pro also offers increased safety when braking in curves by
enabling ABS-assisted braking while leaning. Dynamic Brake Control
(DBC) offers increased safety when braking, even in difficult
situations, by preventing unintentional throttle application. The
dynamic brake light effectively alerts following vehicles to the
braking motorcycle ahead.

Optimal ergonomics and equipment for comfortable, playful, and
agile motorcycling on and off-road.
A
sophisticated ergonomic triangle and a high, close-to-the-body
handlebar made of tapered aluminum tubing ensure an ideal riding
position in all conditions. The body and the 14-liter fuel tank below
it are designed for optimal support and good knee contact, both when
seated and while standing off-road. A wide range of accessories are
available to meet the individual needs of riders, including a
handlebar riser, a rally seat, and the option of a low seat.

Three different seat variants, adjustable hand levers, a
handlebar riser, and secure footrests with height-adjustable
gearshift and footbrake levers ensure optimal riding comfort both on
and off-road.
The new BMW F 450 GS comes
with a two-part seat (845 mm) as standard. The low Black rider's seat
(830 mm) and the high Rallye seat in Black/White/Red (865 mm),
available as part of the Original BMW Motorrad Accessories, can be
adapted to individual requirements. The standard adjustable handlebar
levers and the optional 20 mm handlebar risers made of high-strength
anodized silver aluminum offer further adjustment options.

The new BMW F 450 GS comes standard with a footrest system with
removable rubber grips, whose serrated profile makes it suitable for
off-road use. A very practical feature is the easy height adjustment
of the foot brake lever by 20 mm in two positions to suit individual
needs for on- and off-road riding. The gearshift lever is also height-adjustable.

Wider enduro footrests are included starting with the Exclusive
version or are available as optional accessories.

High touring and everyday performance thanks to sophisticated
vehicle and weather protection, as well as a comprehensive storage
concept.
The modular design of the
available windshields (optional accessories) allows for individual
customization. Depending on the intended use and personal preference,
you can choose between the high Tour windshield (height-adjustable)
and the clear or tinted Rally windshield. This allows the comfort and
wind and weather protection of the new BMW F 450 GS to be tailored
specifically to individual needs.

In the event of a fall or tip-over, Original BMW Motorrad Accessories
offer effective ways to protect your motorcycle from damage, including
engine guards, engine protection bars, front axle protectors, and
other protective components.

The diverse range of special accessories – whether side bags, tail
bags, luggage rolls, tank bags, luggage racks, or top cases – offers
maximum flexibility for every application.

Powerful LED light units as standard. Connectivity featuring a
large, perfectly readable 6.5-inch TFT display that provides
comprehensive information and functionality. Practical USB-C socket
in the cockpit area.
The new BMW F 450 GS
features an LED headlight with an iconic "X" daytime riding
light signature as standard. The turn indicator and control lamps of
the F 450 GS also use LED technology.

A large 6.5-inch TFT display is also standard on the new BMW F 450
GS. The variety of information, display quality, and, last but not
least, user-friendliness are premium. It comes standard with screen
displays tailored to the BMW GS world: the Pure Ride Screen and the
Sport Screen with detailed information on DTC, braking force, and lean
angle. Taking phone calls, listening to music, and navigation while
riding is also possible.

Four attractive equipment variants for the new BMW F 450
GS.
The new BMW F 450 GS is available in
four equipment variants: the
BMW F 450 GS Basis model in Cosmic Black and the
BMW F 450 GS Exclusive, also in Cosmic Black, with
off-road footrests, handguards, a plastic underbody guard, Riding
Modes Pro, Shift Assistant Pro, and a clear windshield.

Another equipment variant is the BMW F 450 GS Sport
in Racing Red, featuring off-road footrests, handguards, a plastic
underbody protection, Riding Modes Pro, Shift Assistant Pro, a clear
windshield, and the “sports suspension” (with KYB fork adjustable in
rebound and compression). The fourth variant, the BMW F 450 GS

"With a significantly extended range of standard
equipment, fully adjustable upside-down forks, lighter wheels and a
weight saving of 3 kilograms, we have been able to make the BMW F
900 R and F 900 XR even more attractive. The new BMW F 900 R also
benefits from a sportier riding position and the BMW F 900 XR from
optimised aerodynamics."
Anton Huber, Project Manager

The new BMW F 900 R and F 900 XR: Technical and visual
upgrades and significantly extended standard equipment for the
dynamic roadster and long-distance sports bike in the mid-range
segment.
With the new BMW F 900 R dynamic roadster and
the new BMW F 900 XR crossover bike, BMW Motorrad is taking its
popular mid-range product range to a new level. Both F-models are
designed for sportiness and fun in twisty terrain, with even more
agile handling and are suitable for experienced riders as well as
newcomers and those returning to motorcycling. While the new BMW F 900
R as a Dynamic Roadster focuses primarily on sporty riding pleasure,
the BMW F 900 XR has everything it takes to be a confident partner on
longer tours and holiday trips with luggage.

Powerful two-cylinder in-line engine with Euro 5+
homologation. Dynamic Traction Control (DTC) now standard. New
sports silencer in collaboration with Akrapovič as genuine BMW
Motorrad accessories.
In the new BMW F 900 R and F 900
XR, the tried-and-tested two-cylinder in-line engine with 895 cc
capacity and 77 kW (105 bhp) of power output ensures pleasurable
riding dynamics. It also delivers a full-bodied torque curve in the
current Euro 5+ homologation. Dynamic Traction Control (DTC) is fitted
as standard to ensure the best possible safety during acceleration.

The sound of the two-cylinder engine, which already has a powerful
character due to the 270/450 degree firing interval, is made even
throatier by the new sports silencer available as a genuine BMW
Motorrad accessory (in cooperation with Akrapovič), which also offers
a weight saving of approximately 1.2 kg.

New upside-down telescopic forks with adjustable damping
rebound and compression damping and spring preload. New wheels,
approx. 1.8 kg lighter.
BMW Motorrad ABS Pro and
Dynamic Brake Control DBC as standard - for even more safety when
braking.
On both the new BMW F 900 R and the new BMW F
900 XR, the front wheel is guided by new, torsionally rigid,
upside-down telescopic forks with 43 mm slider tube diameter. Both
rebound and compression damping as well as spring preload are now
adjustable. This makes it possible to tailor the forks to suit
individual requirements.

The new BMW F 900 R and F 900 XR also feature new 17-inch cast
aluminium wheels. They weigh around 1.8 kg less than the previous
models, contributing to a total weight reduction of 3 kg.

Another new standard feature on the new F models is BMW Motorrad ABS
Pro. In contrast to BMW Motorrad ABS, ABS Pro goes one step further
and offers even more safety when braking in bends by enabling
ABS-assisted braking at lean angles.

Another new standard safety feature is Dynamic Brake Control (DBC),
which provides even greater safety when braking in difficult
situations by preventing unintentional acceleration.

New, 0.8 kg lighter battery as standard and
function-integrated turn indicator lights in the new rear end. BMW F
900 XR with Headlight Pro including daytime running light, adaptive
headlight, USB-C charging port and heated grips as
standard.
The two new F Series models are equipped with
a new battery that is 0.8 kg lighter. They also have a new rear end
with function-integrated turn indicator lights (brake and tail light
functions are integrated into the turn indicator lights).

The new BMW F 900 XR comes with Headlight Pro as standard, including
daytime running light and adaptive headlight for even greater safety
when riding at night. Other new standard features of the BMW F 900 XR
include the USB-C charging port on the right-hand side of the cockpit
with a maximum charging current of 2.4 A and the heated grips.

BMW F 900 R with optimised ergonomics thanks to a redefined
position of the handlebars and footrests for a more sporty riding
position. New headlight side trim painted in body
colour.
The handlebars, footrests and foot levers of the
ergonomic triangle between the handlebars, seat and footrests of the
new BMW F 900 R have been redesigned. This has made it possible to
create a riding position that is significantly more sporty and closer
to the front wheel.

The new BMW F 900 R's increased sporting ambitions are emphasised by
the headlamp side trim painted in body colour.

BMW F 900 XR with optimised aerodynamics and hand protectors
as standard.
The new BMW F 900 XR offers even more
touring capability and long-distance comfort thanks to optimised
aerodynamics in the front fairing. The redesigned wind deflector
reduces wind pressure on the rider, resulting in significantly less
helmet vibration and even greater riding comfort. The hand protectors,
which are standard for all equipment variants, also provides improved
protection from the wind and weather.

Equipment variants and colours.
The new
BMW F 900 R is available in three attractive
colours. The basic variant is available in Snapper
Rocks Blue metallic, the Triple Black version in
Blackstorm metallic and the version Sport in
Lightwhite with Racingblue metallic.

The new BMW F 900 XR will also be available in three
variants and colours for the coming motorcycle season. The
basic variant is available in Racing Red, the
Triple Black version in Blackstorm metallic and the
version Sport in Lightwhite with Racingblue metallic.

New optional equipment and genuine BMW Motorrad accessories
for the new
BMW R 900 and R 900 XR.
The already
extensive range of optional equipment and genuine BMW Motorrad
accessories has been further expanded for the new model year:

Munich. When a total of 22 national teams - including
six women's and 16 men's teams - with a total of 60 riders compete for
the coveted trophy at the BMW Motorrad International GS Trophy 2024
Namibia from 15 to 20 September 2024, they will be able to rely on a
superior workhorse as they cross Namibia: the BMW R 1300 GS Trophy
Competition Bike.

The R 1300 GS Trophy Competition Bike has been developed
exclusively for this competition, which has been held on the basis of
the R 1300 GS since 2008 and is equipped for all eventualities thanks
to special accessories. The large GS with its powerful boxer engine is
fitted with a handlebar riser, engine protection bar, underride and
frame guard, adjustable gear and brake levers, GS Vario rider
footrests, enduro hand levers, headlight protection guard and white
handguard extensions. The coarse-tread off-road tyres on the black
cross-spoke wheels and the single seat bench are designed to cope with
the sometimes difficult terrain of the BMW Motorrad International GS
Trophy 2024 Namibia in East Africa.

With the exception of a few details, the R 1300 GS Trophy
Competition Bike can be configured on the basis of the R 1300 GS Trophy.
Although the BMW Motorrad Competition Bike is not available for
sale in exactly this form, it is based on the R 1300 GS Trophy model
variant, with the exception of a few details such as the stickers, the
large underride guard and the gearshift lever. The basic Racing Blue
metallic colour says it all: with its red and white stripes and
lettering, combined with the matt white metallic painted rear frame,
the R 1300 GS Trophy literally whets the appetite for sporty off-road
riding - just as the 22 teams will experience on their R 1300 GS
Trophy Competition Bikes in September.

In the spirit of high off-road expertise, the Trophy is equipped
ex works with radiator guards to protect against damage, for example
from stone chipping. The robust cross-spoke wheels are also part of
the off-road equipment. They come with black rims as standard and are
also available in gold as an ex-works option.

The BMW F 900 GS Trophy Marshal Bike - the sporty, off-road
BMW GS for the middle range as the vehicle for the GS Trophy Marshal Team.
The GS Trophy Marshals, who will guide the participants safely
through Namibia's challenging terrain, can also rely on a high level
of off-road expertise. Based on the
F 900 GS, the F 900 GS
Trophy Marshal Bike is BMW Motorrad's premium offering in the
mid-range touring enduro segment.

With a full 77 kW (105 hp) of power and a significantly wider
range of uses thanks to greatly enhanced off-road qualities and a
drastic weight reduction of 14 kg compared to its predecessor, the
sporty representative of the GS models in the F Series - like the
R 1300 GS Trophy Competition Bike - also feels at home in Namibia.
The new BMW F 900 GS, F 900 GS Adventure and F 800 GS: The new
premium mid-range touring enduros provide purist riding fun thanks
to even more sophisticated off-road, touring and adventure
capabilities.
With the new F 900 GS, F 900 GS Adventure
and F 800 GS BMW Motorrad is significantly boosting its product range
of touring enduros for the mid-range. While the new BMW F 800 GS is
the ideal bike, especially for entry-level riders, the
BMW F 900
GS Adventure is very well suited for extended adventure trips and for
long, demanding tours. All three models have been significantly
updated and now offer, among other things, an even higher level of
standard equipment in addition to a new drive. The
F 900 GS
features many far-reaching innovations. The motorcycle’s range of uses
has been considerably expanded thanks to its enhanced off-road
qualities combined with a drastic weight reduction of 14 kg compared
to the predecessor model making it a particularly sporty F Series model.

Drive with advanced 2-cylinder in-line engine with greater
capacity, more output and engine drag torque
control.
In the new F 900 GS, F 900 GS Adventure and F
800 GS the advanced 2-cylinder in-line engine introduced in 2018 with
the F 850 GS provides increased riding dynamics. The main reason for
this is the increased capacity 895 cc (previously 853 cc). With
a
270/450 degree firing interval, the engine generates a
particularly emotional sound. In the F 900 GS and F 900 GS Adventure
it puts out 77 kW (105 hp) and in the F 800 GS 64 kW
(87 hp). In
addition to a significant increase in peak power of 10 hp each, the
new engines are also characterised by a much fuller torque curve,
increased pulling power and faster acceleration.

Two riding modes, ABS Pro and DTC as standard. Riding modes
Pro with additional riding modes, riding mode pre-selection and
engine drag torque control as optional equipment ex
works.
The new GS models in the F series already offer
the two riding modes "Rain" and "Road" as
standard. Dynamic Traction Control DTC, the cornering-optimised ABS
Pro and the dynamic brake light. With "riding modes Pro"
available as optional equipment ex works, the dynamic qualities of the
new F 900 GS, F 900 GS Adventure and F 800 GS can be exploited even
more intensively thanks to additional riding modes, the riding mode
pre-selection and the engine drag torque control as well as Dynamic
Brake Control DBC.

BMW F 900 GS with new, significantly lighter plastic fuel tank
and rear section. New, fully adjustable upside-down telescopic forks
on the F 900 GS and
F 900 GS Adventure.
The new F
900 GS, F 900 GS Adventure and F 800 GS rely on a bridge-type frame
made of deep-drawn sheet steel parts welded together, which integrates
the 2-cylinder in-line engine as a supporting element. The 14.5-litre
plastic fuel tank of the new F 900 GS is a completely new development
saving 4.5 kg of weight compared to the steel tank of the previous
model. The F 900 GS features a completely redesigned rear section
which makes it look even more dynamic and save around 2.4 kg of
weight. A further 1.7 kg are saved thanks to the rear silencer by
Akrapovič. The front wheel on the F 900 GS and
F 900 GS Adventure
is guided by new, fully adjustable upside-down telescopic forks by Showa.

New Enduro Pro package for the new F 900 GS and Dynamic ESA
for the new
F 900 GS Adventure and the F 800 GS optionally
available ex works.
The new F 900 GS can be given even
more off-road prowess with the optional equipment ex works Enduro Pro
package featuring fully adjustable titanium nitride-coated upside-down
telescopic forks, fully adjustable central spring strut as well as
handlebar risers and M Endurance chain. The Dynamic ESA (Electronic
Suspension Adjustment) electronic suspension is available as optional
equipment for the new F 900 GS Adventure and the
F 800 GS.

New BMW F 900 GS with ergonomics optimised for off-road use,
enduro footrests and aluminium side stand. Optimised adjustable
gearshift lever and, on the
F 900 GS, a new foot brake lever as
well.
The increased off-road qualities of the new F 900
GS are expressed by the ergonomic triangle (handlebar - seat -
footrests) optimised for off-road use. Lower footrests in combination
with the higher handlebar position and the new design of the fuel tank
provide clear advantages, especially when riding standing up on rough terrain.

All three new models already offer an adjustable gearshift lever
as standard. In conjunction with an optimised bearing and new
gearshift lever kinematics, it was also possible to optimise shifting
the six-speed transmission even further. The F 900 GS also features a
new foot brake lever in a higher position.

New LED headlight on the BMW F 900 GS. All models feature
powerful LED light units.
Compared to the predecessor
model, the LED headlight on the new BMW F 900 GS offers a larger low
beam opening angle and thus better illumination directly in front of
the motorcycle. The new F 900 GS Adventure and the F 800 GS also
feature LED headlights as standard. Furthermore, the turn indicator
and control lights of all three models also use LED technology.

Connectivity - unrivalled information diversity and
functionality in the form of a large, perfectly readable 6.5-inch
TFT display. The new BMW F 900 GS comes as standard with
multifunction holder to accommodate navigation devices, action cams
and more.
The new GS models in the F series already
each have a large 6.5-inch TFT display as standard. This applies in
particular to the F 800 GS, which previously had an analogue display.
Information diversity, quality of presentation and, last but not
least, user-friendliness are unrivalled. Phoning, listening to music
and navigating while riding is very comfortable. The new BMW F 900 GS
is already equipped with a 12 mm holder as standard, which permits
action cams or other devices to be mounted. In order to install the
BMW Motorrad Connected Ride Navigator or the BMW Motorrad Connected
Ride Cradle, the "navigation preparation” option is also required.

BMW F 900 GS with new body dimensions, clear design and colour
scheme highlighting its off-road qualities, sportiness and dynamic
performance.
The new BMW F 900 GS has been completely
redesigned and benefits from a dynamic design that signals increased
off-road qualities and sportiness, as well as visually highlighting
the 14 kg of lowered weight. One of the key points of the new design
is the redesigned plastic fuel tank, which allowed for a much slimmer
and ergonomically more favourable design with a capacity of only 0.5
litres less than the previous model. New, close-fitting tank side
panels, together with a new radiator trim give the new F 900 GS a
sleek, sporty and off-road-oriented look. Off-road qualities,
sportiness and dynamic performance are also reflected in the entire
rear section, which is significantly narrower and more dynamic than
the predecessor model. The dynamic appearance of the new
F 900 GS
is further enhanced by the sporty rear silencer by Akrapovič. The new
F 900 GS is available as a basic version in Blackstorm metallic, as a
Passion model version in São Paulo yellow solid paint and as a GS
Trophy version in Lightwhite solid paint/Racing Blue metallic.

New attractive model variants and colour schemes for the
F 900 GS Adventure and F 800 GS.
The new F 900
GS Adventure is available as a basic variant in Blackstorm metallic
and as a Ride Pro model variant in matt White Aluminium. The new F 800
GS is available as a basic variant in Lightwhite solid paint, as a
Sport model variant in Racing Blue and as a Triple Black version in
Blackstorm metallic.

The new BMW F 900 GS, F 900 GS Adventure and F 800 GS feature
the common highlights:
• Advanced 2-cylinder in-line

F 900 XR in the Adventure Sport segment, BMW
Motorrad is further expanding its product range for the popular
mid-range. Both models offer sporty riding fun, straightforward
handling and a unique range of equipment options, packaged to offer
attractive value for money. Based on a powerful shared backbone,
the two models differ significantly in terms of character and positioning.

The new BMW F 900 R – the Dynamic Roadster for purist riding fun.

Self-confident, sporty, active, focused on a dynamic experience –
this is how fans of the BMW F 900 R could be described. The new
dynamic roadster by BMW Motorrad conveys a sense of freedom and a
modern lifestyle.

At the emotional level, sports-style and aggressive design meets
inspiring performance in terms of engine output, torque and sound.

In addition, there are aspects such as a wide range of potential
uses, a high level of suitability for everyday riding and ergonomics
that make the F 900 R of equal interest to experienced sports riders
and newcomers.

The new BMW F 900 XR – a genuine “XR” for the mid-range.

“XR” stands for an uncompromising mix of sportiness and touring
capability. Having established this family with the BMW S 1000 XR, BMW
Motorrad is now expanding it with the addition of a mid-range model.
The design style and vehicle concept clear refer to the kinship with
the “big sister”.

The F 900 XR also demonstrates easy mastery of the Adventure Sport
segment’s key qualities: sporty riding dynamics combined with upright,
GS‑like ergonomics, outstanding long-distance and passenger
suitability and a design that conveys a powerful sense of character.

The new F 900 XR also benefits from the technology transfer from the
upper class: Adaptive Cornering Light, Keyless Ride or Intelligent
Emergency Call are all unique features in the mid-range.

In addition to sporty riders, the XR is also aimed at newcomers and
motorcycle returnees due to its easy accessibility, low minimum seat
height, A2 capability and attractive entry price.

Technology benchmark in the segment.

The two new models F 900 R and F 900 XR currently set the
technological benchmark in the mid-range segment with their
high-quality standard equipment (Connectivity, LED all round as
standard) and their wide range of optional extras – in some cases
unique in this class (including Adaptive Cornering Light, Keyless
Ride, Dynamic ESA, Riding Modes Pro, Shift Assistant Pro, Intelligent
Emergency Call, ABS Pro, MSR, DTC, DBC, RDC).

Drive featuring further developed 2-cylinder in-line engine
with increased capacity and power along with new engine drag torque control.

In the new F 900 R and F 900 XR, enhanced riding dynamics are ensured
by the further development of the 2-cylinder in-line engine first
introduced in 2018 in the F 850 GS, now with 77 kW (105 hp) and an
even fuller torque curve. The main factor here is an increase in
capacity to 895 cc (previously 853 cc). With an ignition distance of
270/450 degrees and a new underfloor silencer system, the engine
offers a particularly emotional sound.

In addition to the standard anti-hopping clutch, the new F 900 R and
F 900 XR can be fitted with engine drag torque control (MSR) for the
first time. It prevents the rear wheel from slipping as a result of
abrupt throttling or downshifting, thereby ensuring even greater safety.

Two standard riding modes, ASC and ABS.
Riding modes Pro with DTC, ABS Pro, DBC and MSR as ex works options.

The new F 900 R and F 900 XR already offer the “Rain” and “Road”
riding modes as standard. The standard trim also includes ABS and ASC
Automatic Stability Control, which is disengageable.

With “Riding Modes Pro” as an ex works option, the sporty
characteristics of the new F 900 R and F 900 XR can be experienced
even more intensively. The additional riding modes “Dynamic” and
“Dynamic Pro”, Dynamic Traction Control DTC and banking capable ABS
Pro are available, along with Dynamic Brake Control (DBC) and the new
engine drag torque control (MSR).

Chassis with steel bridge frame, lightweight plastic tanks and
the electronic suspension Dynamic ESA as optional extras.

Like the GS models in the F Series, the new F 900 R and F 900 XR make
use of a steel bridge frame that integrates the engine as a
load-bearing element and a fuel tank that is now back in its classic
position in front of the

rider. Front wheel control is taken care of by an upside-down
telescopic fork, while the rear wheel is guided by a double-sided
swinging arm with central suspension strut.

The light, plastic-welded fuel tanks with a capacity of 15.5 litres
(F 900 XR) and 13 litres (F 900 R) are a world first in motorcycle
construction. The bolt-on steel rear frame has also been newly
developed for the F 900 R and
F 900 XR in order to create a
visually short and slim rear. While the new
F 900 R is a dynamic roadster focusing on sporty use
and therefore shorter spring travel, the new F 900 XR
– with its somewhat longer spring travel – offers a noticeable
increase in comfort and therefore an even wider range of potential uses.

With the BMW Motorrad Dynamic ESA (Electronic Suspension Adjustment),
available as an optional extra and almost unique in these vehicle
segments, it is possible to further enhance the dynamic riding
experience, riding comfort and also touring and passenger suitability,
since the damping of the rear spring strut is automatically adapted to
the conditions depending on riding state and manoeuvres.

Adaptive Cornering Light unique in the mid-range segment as
part of the optional extra Headlight Pro. Powerful LED lighting
units all round as standard.
Even greater safety is offered by the Adaptive Cornering Light
as a component of Headlight Pro, which is unique in the mid-range and
comes as an optional extra ex works. Here, the rider benefits from
improved illumination of the road when cornering for even safer riding
at night. All lighting units in the new F models are based on LED
technology as standard.

Perfectly readable colour 6.5-inch TFT screen with BMW
Motorrad Connectivity as standard.
The BMW Motorrad developers attached great importance to optimum
readability for the instrument cluster – even in difficult lighting
conditions. In addition, information diversity, display quality and
user-friendliness are unmatched. The graphics on the screen are
visually adapted to the sporty on-road world. Additional Core screens
are available in conjunction with the optional Pro riding modes. The
standard BMW Motorrad Connectivity is a unique feature in the
mid-range, offering the ability to conveniently talk on the phone,
listen to music or navigate while riding.

Perfectly designed ergonomic triangles for dynamic riding fun
and – in the case of the F 900 XR – excellent segment-specific wind
and weather protection for touring and travelling.

As a dynamic roadster, the F 900 R offers a
particularly sporty, active seating position.

Meanwhile the F 900 XR offers an impressively active
yet relaxed riding position for touring and travelling. The front
fairing including an adjustable windshield combines a sporty look with
sound rider protection.

Various low and high seats along with the optional lowering feature
also allow individual adjustment to various body heights.

Three powerful colour and style variants each for an
unmistakable sense of character.

Three dynamic colour and style variants for the new F 900 R and F 900
XR ensure unmistakable characteristics.

The new F 900 R is available in Blackstorm metallic,
San Marino Blue metallic and Style Sport in Hockenheim Silver
metallic/Racing Red.

In addition to Light White, the new F 900 XR offers
the two Style variants Style Exclusive in Galvanic Gold metallic and
Sport in Racing Red.

The highlights of the new BMW F 900 R and F 900 XR:

The one-off premieres on 5 July 2019 at the BMW Motorrad Days.</pp:summary>

Munich/Garmisch-Partenkirchen. Visitors to this
year’s BMW Motorrad Days can expect to see, in addition to many bike
highlights, a true one-off – the BMW X7 Pick-up. A unique conversion
performed by BMW Group vocational trainees in cooperation with the
Concept Vehicle Construction and Model Technology divisions at the
BMW Munich plant. The vehicle is based on the BMW X7, the most
luxurious and latest member of the BMW X family. The one-off combines
the drive technology of the 250 kW/340 hp BMW X7 xDrive40i (fuel
consumption combined: 9.0 – 8.7 l/100 km [31.4 – 32.5 mpg imp]; CO2
emissions combined: 205 – 198 g/km) with the innovative vehicle
concept of a five-seater luxury pick-up.
A handcrafted loading
area boasting a sophisticated fine-polished wood finish, a
height-adjustable two-level air suspension and numerous high-class
equipment details make this BMW X7 Pick-up an ideal companion for the
diverse day-to-day uses and more. A BMW F 850 GS – a powerful
motorcycle from the adventure segment – on the loading area completes
the conversion. Together they are able to reach even the remotest
corners of the world.

"I am pleased about the synergies between BMW Group
Vocational Training, Concept Vehicle Construction and Model
Technology, allowing these young talents to prove their abilities with
such an extraordinary project," concludes Milagros Caiña-Andree,
Member of the Board for Human Resources of the BMW AG.

High-class materials and state-of-the-art production methods
meet craftsmanship.
Behind the passenger cabin
providing five persons with a luxury ambience, the BMW X7 Pick-up
offers a generous loading area. The length of the loading space varies
from 140 cm (closed) to 200 cm (open). Thanks to the intelligent use
of CFRP on roof components, rear doors and the rear lid, it was
possible to further reduce weight by 200 kg vs. the production model,
despite a 10 cm longer body. In interplay with the high-quality,
handcrafted teakwood cladding of the loading area upgrade and the
parapet elements, handgrips and trim strips made from SLS 3D pressure
parts, it becomes clear just how much innovative strength, competence
and technical precision the trainees already display. The combination
of honey-coloured teakwood and the BMW Individual colour Tanzanite
Blue metallic – an exclusive navy blue finish that develops extra
depth when exposed to sunlight – was inspired by yachting sports and
creates a sophisticated look.

From a concept to a vehicle in show car quality in just ten
months.
In just ten months, the twelve trainees from the
occupational sectors body and vehicle mechanics (m/f/x), vehicle
mechatronics (m/f/x) and technical model construction (m/f/x) turned a
concept into a fully functional, road-legal automobile in show car
quality. In keeping with the BMW brand’s sustainability strategy, a
vehicle returned from testing formed the cost-efficient basis of the
concept, which the trainees consequently saved from being scrapped.
The trainees were free to decide on conception and implementation, but
had to forgo the additional expert assistance normally provided in
concept car construction. The coherent final result gives the trainees
even more reason to be proud of their practical training project.
Their dream: to go for a spin in the BMW X7 Pick-up after its premiere
or even take it for a trip to the mountains.

The BMW X7 Pick-up and the BMW F 850 GS – unbeatable as a
duo.
On the loading area of the converted vehicle stands
a BMW F 850 GS, which is ideally suited to the BMW Motorrad Days. With
a combination of touring and long-distance capability, sporty dynamics
and supreme off-road qualities, the BMW F 850 GS perfectly complements
the qualities of the BMW X7 Pick-up. However, in everyday life, the
BMW X7 pick-up and the BMW F 850 GS are faithful companions: thanks
to their excellent driving characteristics both on paved and unpaved
roads, the journey is the destination.
The BMW X7 Pick-up is a
one-off from BMW Group Vocational Training at the Munich location.
Series implementation is not planned. Special projects such as this
serve during training to convey and deploy the required capabilities
in practice. Clear training contents with an occupational interest in
each profession exist in such projects. The BMW Group currently trains
almost 5,000 persons in nine countries worldwide.

CO2 EMISSIONS & CONSUMPTION.

Premium middle-class travel enduros with strong characters.
Ever since their debut in 2007, the GS models of the F series
have stood for premium riding enjoyment with typical ‘Made by BMW
Motorrad’ features, representing the middle-class Adventure segment.
As before, the GS abbreviation again represents a perfect synthesis of
touring and long-distance capability combined with sporty dynamics and
supreme offroad performance. In short: A BMW GS is the perfect
companion when it comes to discovering remote corners of the world by
motorcycle. After around ten years of consistent model development,
BMW Motorrad has now fully redesigned and reengineered its
middle-class GS models in line with its objective of creating an
ultimate riding machine that is even more uncomplicated and carefree,
whether used for sport-oriented road riding, on tour complete with
luggage and a passenger, or on an adventure trip into offroad terrain.

Even more so than their predecessor models, the new F 750 GS and
F 850 GS are targeted squarely at their respective clientele. The F
750 GS is designed for all riders who prefer the sensation and
conceptual design of a travel enduro in combination with a low seat
height, copious power availability, high cost-effectiveness, and
powerful all-round qualities. Opposite this is the new F 850 GS, which
besides offering more power and torque, features even more distinctive
touring characteristics coupled with supreme offroad ability.

Powerful, new 2-cylinder in-line engine with two
counterbalance shafts and a firing interval of 270/450 degrees for
optimised smoothness and emotional sound.
The main
development focus was to create an increase in both power and torque.
In addition, special attention was given to reducing fuel consumption
levels. Displacement is 853 cc and the power output of 57 kW (77 hp)
at 7500 rpm generated by the F 750 GS is more than sufficient. The new
F 850 GS generates 70 kW (95 hp) at 8250 rpm which translates to a
supreme level of engine power.

The developers achieved a powerful and emotionally appealing
sound by employing a crankshaft with a 90 degree journal offset and a
270/450 degree firing interval. Unwanted vibrations are absorbed by
the new engine’s two counterbalance shafts. A self-amplifying,
anti-hopping clutch provides a discernible reduction in the hand
clutch operating force while the drop in engine drag torque also
enhances safety on the road. Power transmission to the rear wheel
comes from the 6-speed gearbox with secondary drive that is now
positioned on the left-hand side.

The riding modes ‘Road’ and ‘Rain’ plus ABS and ASC ensure
plenty of riding enjoyment and enhanced safety as standard. Pro
riding modes are available as optional equipment.
The
new GS models address individual rider requirements by offering ‘Rain’
and ‘Road’ riding modes, while the combination of BMW Motorrad ABS and
the ASC automatic stability control ensures a high level of safety.

The F 750 GS and F 850 GS can be fitted ex works with optional
equipment, such as Pro riding modes and in turn the additional
‘Dynamic’, ‘Enduro’ and ‘Enduro Pro’ riding modes (the latter only
available in the F 850 GS) as well as the DTC dynamic traction control
and banking capable ABS Pro.

New steel bridge frame in monocoque construction, optimised
suspension geometry and new fuel tank position.
The
bridge frame of the new GS models in the F series is made of
deep-drawn, welded components. It integrates the 2-cylinder in-line
engine as a co-supporting element and offers benefits in terms of
torsional rigidity and robustness. The fuel tank has been placed in
the classic position between the seat bench and the steering head, for
optimised packaging and an improved centre of gravity.

Sharper GS profile thanks to the more masculine
design.
The F 750 GS and F 850 GS also feature a
completely new look, which benefits from a more dynamic and masculine
design. The new LED headlight gives the front view an especially
striking visusal appeal. In addition to the basic version, the new F
models are also available in Exclusive style variations. The Rallye
style variant is exclusive to the new F 850 GS and places particular
emphasis on its offroad capabilities.

Unique range of optional equipment and Original BMW Motorrad
accessories.
The new GS models of the F series are being
launched with a range of equipment options that is unique for the
middle class. Be it the different seat heights and windshields, the
LED daytime riding headlight, the optional Connectivity equipment with
TFT display or eCall, the list of fascinating features with which
owners can maximise their riding enjoyment and safety as well as
experience the thrill of the road is now virtually inexhaustible for
middle class travel enduro motorcycles.

Highlights of the new BMW F 750 GS and F 850 GS:

Keyless Ride new for R 1200 GS / GS Adventure, R 1200 RT and
K 1600 GT / GTL for maximum user-friendliness.

For the first time, the BMW Motorrad Keyless Ride System now
optionally replaces the conventional ignition lock in the R 1200 GS /
GS Adventure, the R 1200 RT and the K 1600 GT / GTL. This means that
it is no longer necessary to use a regular key. Unlocking and locking
of the steering lock, ignition, fuel filler flap and storage
compartments (R 1200 RT and K 1600 GT / GTL) is carried out using a
transponder integrated in the key. The key can therefore remain in the
rider's clothes, for example.

As soon as the key is located within the vehicle reception area
(distance < 2 metres), the steering lock can be briefly unlocked
after successful authentication by briefly pressing the button. The
steering lock is locked by keeping the button pressed down and placing
the handlebars in end position. The ignition is activated by briefly
pressing the button or keeping the button pressed down after releasing
the steering lock. The ignition is switched off by means of a short or
long press of the button. To open the fuel tank, the lever of the fuel
filler flap is simply raised. The fuel filler flap can be opened when
the motorcycle has been electrically unlocked. The fuel tank is closed
by simply pressing the fuel filler flap shut. The alarm system (DWA)
is automatically activated when the ignition is switched off and the
steering lock is closed, as soon as the key leaves the reception area.
However, the alarm system can also be activated manually.

Shift Assistant Pro for gear shifts virtually without torque
interrupt as a new special equipment feature for the R 1200 GS / GS Adventure.

The Shift Assistant Pro enables the rider to shift up and down
without activating the clutch or throttle valve in the relevant load
and engine speed ranges, giving the rider additional comfort as well
as increased dynamic performance. Most shifts can be carried out using
the shift assistant; one exception here is setting off, for example.

When accelerating, the throttle valve no longer has to be closed for
shifts, so propulsion power is virtually constant without torque
interrupt. When decelerating and shifting down (throttle valve
closed), the engine speed is automatically adapted by means of
double-declutching. Gears are engaged as usual by means of the gear
pedal. Shift time is significantly reduced as compared to a gearshift
using the clutch. However, the Shift Assistant Pro is not an automatic
transmission, it simply provides gear shift support. When the Shift
Assistant Pro is used for gear shifts, the cruise control is
deactivated for safety reasons.
Munich. A number of model updates will be integrated
in the BMW Motorrad program for the model year 2013.The models will be
available for order in the new configuration at all BMW Motorrad
dealerships from August 2012.

BMW Motorrad ABS available as standard in all models worldwide.

As a leading motorcycle manufacturer, BMW Motorrad has always been
aware of its social responsibility in connection with motorcycling
safety. In 1988 the company presented the world's first serial
production motorcycles with the antilock brake system ABS - the most
effective technical safety bonus to this day. Now follows the next
logical step: as of the model year 2013, BMW Motorrad will be
the first manufacturer in the world to provide ABS in all models as
standard. This is a proactive step, clearly pre-empting the
requirement for ABS which is likely to be introduced in 2016 for all
newly registered motorcycles in Europe.
