<strong>Munich</strong>. The BMW Group is consistently driving its
electrification strategy forward and presents new plug-in hybrid
models for an especially popular and dynamically growing vehicle
category. In the new BMW X1 xDrive25e and the new BMW X2 xDrive25e,
the intelligently controlled interaction between a fuel combustion
engine and an electric motor as well as locally emissions-free travel
can be experienced in the Sports Activity Vehicle (SAV) and Sports
Activity Coupe (SAC) premium segment starting in 2020. A highly
efficient electric drive and a latest-generation lithium-ion battery
enable an electrically powered range of up to 57 kilometres* in the
two new plug-in hybrid models. With an average fuel consumption of 2.1
to 1.9 litres per 100 kilometres* and CO2 emissions between 48 and
43 grams per kilometre* for the BMW X1 xDrive25e and 2.1 to 1.9 litres
per 100 kilometres* and between 47 and 43 grams per kilometre* for the
BMW X2 xDrive25e, both models set a benchmark within their competitive
fields. Combined power consumption of the BMW X1 xDrive25e is 14.3 to
13.8 kWh per 100 kilometres*, the corresponding values of the
BMW X2 xDrive25e are 14.2 to 13.7 kWh per 100 kilometres*. The hybrid
specific all-wheel drive with its fast and precise distribution of
power between the front and rear wheels delivers a high level of
  driving pleasure and thrilling agility.</p>
<p>The two plug-in models are an extension to the wide range of BMW
models in the premium compact segment of SAV and SAC vehicles. In
addition to numerous variants featuring extremely efficient petrol and
diesel engines, models with electrified drive will be on offer for the
first time. Thus, the portfolio will include in addition to economical
entry models with a 3-cylinder combustion engine also the new plug-in
hybrid models and the BMW X2 M35i (combined fuel consumption:
  7.1 – 6.8 l/100 km; combined CO2 emissions: 163 – 154 g/km*), the
extremely athletic top model with a maximum output of 225 kW/306 hp.
With the extension of its range in the premium compact segment the BMW
Group’s model offensive is gaining further momentum in the area of
plug-in hybrid models. The current selection comprises the
MINI Cooper SE Countryman (combined fuel consumption:
  2.1 – 1.9 l/100 km; combined power consumption:
  13.9 – 13.5 kWh/100 km; combined CO2 emissions: 47 – 43 g/km*), the
  BMW 225xe Active Tourer (combined fuel consumption: 1.9 l/100 km;
combined power consumption: 13.5 kWh/100 km; combined CO2 emissions:
42 g/km*), BMW 3 Series and BMW 5 Series models and plug-in hybrid
luxury sedans of the BMW 7 Series. In future, four BMW X models with
plug-in hybrid drive will also be available. As a pioneer in electric
mobility BMW intends to have more than one million vehicles with
electrified drive on the road by the end of 2021. By 2021, 25 percent
of the vehicles sold by the BMW Group in Europe will feature an
electric drive. By 2025 this figure is scheduled to reach 33 percent
and 50 percent by 2030. The BMW Group plans to extend their portfolio
by additional 25 electrified vehicles by 2023.</p>
<p>The plug-in hybrid system of the new BMW X1 xDrive 25e and the new
  BMW X2 xDrive25e consists of a 1.5 litre 3-cylinder petrol engine with
BMW TwinPower Turbo Technology and an electric drive specially
developed for this model. It is taken from the eDrive technology
modular system of the BMW Group. The petrol engine mobilises a peak
output of 92 kW/125 hp and a maximum torque of 220 Newton metres. It
transfers its power to a 6-speed Steptronic transmission and drives
the front wheels. The electric motor generates an output of 70 kW/95
hp and delivers 165 Nm of torque to the rear wheels via a single-speed
transmission. This makes for a hybrid specific all-wheel drive, which
gives both models a unique level of agility in their competitive
fields delivering hallmark SAV and SAC driving pleasure. The highly
responsive power delivery of the electric motor, which delivers its
full torque spontaneously from standstill, enables the driver to react
extremely quickly to changing driving conditions. In addition, the
position of the electric motor above the rear axle contributes to the
harmoniously balanced axle load distribution of the new BMW X1
xDrive25e and the new BMW X2 xDrive25e. In conjunction with the
intelligently controlled interaction between the two power units, it
provides maximum driving stability, ride comfort and dynamic response.</p>
<p>Together the combustion engine and electric motor produce a system
output of 162 kW/220 hp. The maximum system torque of both drive units
is 385 Nm. The new BMW X1 xDrive25e accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in
6.9 seconds. The new BMW X2 xDrive25e does the 0 to 100 km/h sprint in
6.8 seconds. In addition, the electric boost provided by the drive
system ensures additional safety reserves and intense sporty flair
when overtaking on country roads, for example. The top speed of the
new BMW X1 xDrive25e is 193 km/h. Maximum speed of the new
  BMW X2 xDrive25e is 195 km/h.</p>
<p>With the very latest high-voltage battery cell technology, the new
BMW X1 xDrive25e and the new BMW X2 xDrive25e possess generous
reserves of electrical energy enabling the driver to conduct the main
share of everyday travel locally emissions-free with the electric
motor alone. The latest-generation lithium-ion battery has a gross
energy content of 10 kWh. This allows for an electrically powered
range of between 54 and 57 kilometres* in the BMW X1 xDrive25e
(between 55 and 57 kilometres* in the new BMW X2 xDrive25e). The
high-voltage battery can be charged at conventional household sockets
using the standard-equipment charging cable. An empty battery can be
fully charged in around five hours in this way. It only takes 3.8
hours for the battery to reach 80 percent of its total capacity. Using
a BMW i Wallbox, the relevant charging operation from 0 to 100 percent
takes less than 3.2 hours. 80 percent of total capacity is already
reached after 2.4 hours. The charging socket is located under a
separate flap on the front left side wall of the car.</p>
<p>The driver can use the eDrive button on the centre console to
influence the drive system’s operating mode. In the AUTO eDRIVE
standard setting, the intelligent drive system ensures optimum
interaction between the two power units in all driving situations.
Navigation data is also used to manage the plug-in hybrid system to
increase both efficiency as well as driving pleasure. When navigation
guidance is activated, the anticipatory energy management can also
take into account the route profile for controlling the drive system.
The MAX eDrive mode can be activated for maximum use of the electric
drive. In this mode, the new BMW X1 xDrive25e and the new
BMW X2 xDrive25e reach a top speed of 135 km/h. In addition there is
also the SAVE BATTERY mode. It enables the driver to maintain the
charging state of the high-voltage battery while driving or to
increase it by means of recuperation. In this way battery capacity can
be saved for later use when driving in purely electric mode in the
city for example. The driving experience switch can be used
independent of the drive mode. In the new BMW X1 xDrive25e and the new
BMW X2 xDrive25e, the driver can use this to activate the COMFORT,
SPORT and ECO PRO modes in order to influence the drive and suspension
functions as well as to operate the electrically powered comfort systems.</p>
<p>Due to a long electric range and low CO2 emissions, the new
BMW X1 xDrive25e and the new BMW X2 xDrive25e (depending on equipment)
meet the criteria which have been stipulated for the classification as
an electric vehicle in Germany and the associated preferential
treatment in public road traffic. In addition, it also qualifies for
reduced company car taxation in Germany. Only half the gross list
price is used as a basis when calculating the monetary benefit from
private use of the company car.</p>
<p>The new BMW X1 xDrive25e and the new BMW X2 xDrive25e feature
acoustic pedestrian protection as standard. When driving electrically
at speeds of up to 30 km/h, an unmistakable sound designed
specifically for electrified BMW models is generated to alert other
road users to the approaching car without impairing the acoustic
comfort of the vehicle occupants. In addition, the standard equipment
of the two compact BMW X models with plug-in hybrid drive also
includes 17-inch light alloy wheels, 2-zone automatic air conditioning
as well as auxiliary air conditioning. The interior can be
pre-conditioned remotely via BMW Connected using a smartphone. The new
BMW X1 xDrive25e is available as Advantage, Sport Line, xLine and M
Sport models. For the new BMW X2 xDrive25e customers can choose from
the following models: Advantage, Advantage Plus, M Sport and
M Sport X. In addition to the respective equipment packages, virtually
all options of the conventionally powered BMW X1 or BMW X2 are
available for the plug-in hybrid models.</p>
<p>The positioning of the high-voltage battery underneath the rear seats
not only leads to a very low centre of gravity, which optimises the
agility of the BMW X1 xDrive25 and the new BMW X2 xDrive25e, but also
to a slightly reduced transport capacity compared to the
conventionally powered compact model variants. The luggage compartment
volume is fully available in primary use. In the new BMW X1 xDrive25e
luggage compartment capacity is 450 litres. With a standard split of
40: 20: 40, the folding backrests enable this to be increased to 1,470
litres. A trailer tow hitch with detachable ballhead is optionally
available for the new BMW X1 xDrive25e. The maximum trailer load is
  750 kilograms.</p><div class="co2emission"><div class="co2emission-headline">CO2 EMISSIONS & CONSUMPTION.</div><div class="co2emission-text"><p>

<strong>Munich. </strong>New items of optional equipment and
additional engine variants will increase the appeal and variety of the
BMW model line-up in autumn 2018. A new variant powered by a
four-cylinder diesel engine will be added to the BMW X1 and BMW X2
ranges from November 2018. And there will also be newcomers to the
drive system portfolio for the BMW X3. A large number of additional
BMW models will meet the Euro 6d-TEMP exhaust standard from autumn
2018. This means more than 190 BMW models will now conform with the
emissions regulations not due to come into force for all newly
  registered cars until September 2019.</p>
<p>The Edition M Sport Shadow available for the BMW 1 Series range from
November 2018 exudes a particularly dynamic allure. Also in November
2018, the Advantage Plus model will be added to the BMW X2 range. The
functionality of the optional Comfort Access will be optimised for
many current BMW models. And from autumn 2018 there will be more ways
to use the BMW Digital Key. Keyless access to the car will be possible
not only using a compatible mobile phone, but also with the new Key
  Card from BMW.</p>
<p>
<strong>New model variants for the BMW X1 and BMW X2.<br /></strong>A
new variant with a four-cylinder diesel engine and front-wheel drive
will be added to both the BMW X1 and BMW X2 model ranges from November
  2018. The new BMW X1 sDrive20d (fuel consumption combined: 4.6 l/100
km [61.4 mpg imp]; CO2 emissions combined: 122 g/km) and
  BMW X2 sDrive20d (fuel consumption combined: 4.7 – 4.4 l/100 km [60.1
  – 64.2 mpg imp]; CO2 emissions combined: 123 – 115 g/km) will be
powered by a 2.0-litre diesel engine with BMW TwinPower Turbo
technology, whose 140 kW/190 hp is channelled to the front wheels via
an eight-speed Steptronic transmission. Both models accelerate from 0
  to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 7.9 seconds.</p>
<p>Added to which, from autumn 2018 the 110 kW/150 hp four-cylinder
diesel engine in the BMW X2 xDrive18d can also link up as an option
with an eight-speed Steptronic transmission. In this configuration,
  the BMW X2 xDrive18d will sprint from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in
9.4 seconds, and post combined fuel consumption of 4.9 – 4.7 litres
  per 100 kilometres (57.7 – 60.1 mpg imp) and CO2 emissions of
  130 – 123 grams per kilometre</p>
<p>
<strong>More than 190 BMW models now meet the Euro 6d-TEMP exhaust standard</strong>.</p>
<p>Around 190 BMW models have met the requirements of the exacting
Euro 6d-TEMP exhaust standard – which comes into force for all newly
registered cars in September 2019 – since July 2018. The cars
concerned range from conventionally powered models with petrol or
diesel engines to BMW i and BMW iPerformance models and the
high-performance sports cars from BMW M GmbH. The petrol-engined
models are fitted with a gasoline particulate filter to minimise their
emissions, while exhaust gas treatment for the diesel models comprises
a diesel particulate filter, a NOx storage catalyst and an SCR
catalyst with AdBlue injection to reduce nitric oxide emissions.</p>
<p>In autumn 2018 the line-up of models equipped to meet the future
emissions standard will expand once again. The BMW 530d Sedan (fuel
  consumption combined: 5.2 – 5.1l/100 km [54.3 – 55.4 mpg imp]; CO2
  emissions combined: 138 – 134  g/km) and BMW 530d Touring (fuel
  consumption combined: 5.5 – 5.3 l/100 km [51.4 – 53.3 mpg imp]; CO2
  emissions combined: 144 – 140 g/km), the BMW 530d xDrive Sedan (fuel
  consumption combined: 5.6 – 5.4  l/100 km [50.4 – 52.3 mpg imp]; CO2
  emissions combined: 146 – 143 g/km) and BMW 530d xDrive Touring (fuel

  consumption combined: 5.7 – 5.6  l/100 km [49.6 – 50.4 mpg imp]; CO2
  emissions combined: 149 – 147 g/km) and BMW 540d xDrive Touring (fuel
  consumption combined: 6.0 – 5.9 l/100 km [47.1 – 47.9 mpg imp]; CO2
  emissions combined: 159 – 156 g/km), the BMW M550d xDrive Sedan (fuel
  consumption combined: 6.4 – 6.3  l/100 km [44.1 – 44.8 mpg imp]; CO2
  emissions combined: 168 – 166 g/km) and BMW M550d xDrive Touring (fuel
  consumption combined: 6.6 – 6.5 l/100 km [42.8 – 43.5 mpg imp]; CO2
emissions combined: 174 – 172 g/km) will now also meet the tougher
regulations. The BMW 630d Gran Turismo (fuel consumption combined:
  5.5 – 5.3 l/100 km [51.4 – 53.3 mpg imp]; CO2 emissions combined:

ensure further advancement in the field of intelligent networking.
Starting in the autumn of 2017, the number of cities in which the
digital parking space search service On-Street Parking Information can
be utilized will increase even further.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>
<strong>New BMW M Performance model: BMW M550d xDrive Touring
featuring the most powerful six-cylinder diesel engine available
    worldwide. </strong></p>
<p>From November 2017, the fleet of exceptionally sporty
BMW M Performance automobiles will be complemented by a fascinatingly
powerful but also impressively efficient model variant of the new BMW
5 Series Touring. The new BMW M550d xDrive Touring will feature the
most powerful six-cylinder diesel engine available worldwide. The
M Performance TwinPower Turbo technology used on the 3-litre, straight
six-cylinder power unit comprises multi-stage charging with four
turbochargers and Common Rail direct injection operating at a maximum
pressure of more than 2,500 bar. A maximum power output of
294 kW/400 hp and a peak torque of 760 Nm available between 2, 000 and
3, 000 rpm ensure spontaneous response and constant power delivery
  across the entire speed range.</p>
<p>The BMW M550d xDrive Touring brings its exceptional engine
performance to the tarmac via an 8-speed sports transmission and
intelligent rear-wheel oriented four-wheel drive technology and
accelerates from a standstill to 100 km/h in just 4.6 seconds. The
sporty diesel engine convinces not only with highly responsive
performance characteristics, but also with impressive fuel economy.
Combined fuel consumption of the new BMW M550d xDrive Touring is
between 6.7 and 6.4 litres per 100 km with CO2 emission levels of 176
to 168 grams per km (figures as per EU test cycle, depending on
  selected tyre size).</p>
<p>Included in the standard equipment range for the
BMW M550d xDrive Touring are, inter alia, an M sports suspension,
Integral Active Steering and model-specific exterior and interior
features. Moreover, 19-inch M light alloy wheels with mixed tyres and
the M sports brake system underscore the BMW M Performance model’s
  dynamic character.</p>
<p>
<strong>Superior and efficient: The new BMW 640d xDrive Gran Turismo. </strong></p>
<p>As from November 2017, the model range of the new BMW 6 Series
Gran Turismo will be extended with the production start of a second
diesel engine variant. The new BMW 640d xDrive Gran Turismo combines
sporty performance and supreme ride comfort with a high level of
efficiency. Its 3-litre straight six-cylinder engine with BMW
TwinPower Turbo technology features multi-stage charging with variable
intake geometry for the high and low pressure chargers as well as
Common Rail direct injection. It delivers 235 kW/320 hp and a maximum
  torque of 680 Nm.</p>
<p>In conjunction with an 8-speed Steptronic transmission and the
intelligent four-wheel drive system xDrive, the powerful diesel engine
allows the new BMW 640d xDrive Gran Turismo to accelerate from 0
to100 km/h in 5.3 seconds. Combined fuel consumption is between 6.2
and 5.8 litres per 100 km, with corresponding CO2 emission levels of
163 to 153 grams per km (figures as per EU test cycle, depending on
  selected tyre size).</p>
<p>
<strong>The BMW X3: Starting with two additional engines and special
equipment features by BMW Individual. </strong></p>
<p>In December 2017, just a few weeks after the market launch of the new
BMW X3, two four-cylinder petrol engines are to be added to the drive
portfolio. In addition to BMW TwinPower Turbo technology with Twin
Scroll turbo charger, High Precision Injection, fully variable valve
control VALVETRONIC and variable camshaft control Double VANOS, both
2-litre power units also boast a weight-optimised design and a new
engine encapsulation system for optimising acoustic characteristics
and warm-up behaviour. They come as standard with the combination of
an 8-speed Steptronic transmission and intelligent four-wheel drive
  technology BMW xDrive</p>
<p>The engine featured in the new BMW X3 xDrive20i delivers a maximum
power output of 135 kW/184 hp and a peak torque of 290 Nm. The car’s
sporty characteristics are reflected in an acceleration of 8.3 seconds
from 0 to 100 km/h, an exceptionally economical average fuel
consumption of between 7.3 and 7.1 litres per 100 km and CO2 emission
levels of 168 to 163 grams per km. The second petrol engine delivers a
power output of 185 kW/252 hp and 350 Nm of torque, allowing the new
  BMW X3 xDrive30i to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.3 seconds.
Combined fuel consumption is between 7.3 and 7.2 litres per 100 km
with CO2 emission levels of 168 to 164 grams per km (figures as per EU
test cycle, depending on selected tyre size).</p>
<p>The extra dose of luxury and exclusiveness added to the new BMW X3’s
character is also reflected in the extensive range of products offered
by BMW Individual. The BMW Individual body colour variant Sun Stone
metallic effectively accentuates the powerfully modelled surfaces of
the Sports Activity Vehicle in a most impressive manner. The
sophisticated interior ambience is created by the BMW Individual
upgraded leather trim Merino in the colour combinations Fiona
Red/Black, Ivory White and Tartufo, door sills bearing the BMW
Individual lettering and BMW Individual interior trim strips in a
  black piano gloss finish.</p>
<p>
  <strong>BMW X1 xDrive20d now with 8-speed Steptronic transmission as
standard, new light alloy wheels for the compact SAV. </strong></p>
<p>Starting November 2017, the 140 kW/190 hp four-cylinder engine in the
BMW X1 xDrive20d will come as standard in conjunction with an 8-speed
Steptronic transmission, allowing the compact SAV to accelerate from a
standstill to 100 km/h in 7.9 seconds. Average fuel consumption of the
  BMW X1 xDrive20d is between 4.8 and 4.7 litres per 100 km and CO2
emissions 127 to 123 grams per km (figures as per EU test cycle,
  depending on selected tyre size).</p>
<p>Furthermore, the range of light alloy wheels optionally available for
the BMW X1 will be upgraded. The choice will comprise five new
variants ranging from 17-inch wheels with aerodynamically optimised
turbine styling to 19-inch M light alloy wheels in a double-spoke
  design and bicolour optics.</p>
<p>
<strong>Enhanced networking and productivity inside the vehicle:
Microsoft Office 365 with Skype for Business, On-Street Parking
    Information in further European cities.</strong></p>
<p>With the integrated function Microsoft Office 365, BMW is the first
manufacturer to offer a safe server connection for the exchange and
processing of mails, calendar entries and contact data. This function
allows direct transfer of addresses from calendar entries into the
navigation system and selection of telephone numbers via the connected
mobile telephone. Moreover, from the end of September 2017, it will be
possible to use the Unified Communication solution Skype for Business
from Microsoft inside the car. This service is also fully integrated
into the onboard iDrive control system. Upcoming telephone conferences
are automatically identified. It is possible to participate simply by
pressing the controller. During the journey, the name of those taking
part in the discussion can be shown on the Control Display. The new
BMW ConnectedDrive service will first be available in Germany, Great
Britain and France. Additional countries are to follow at the end of 2017.</p>
<p>From the autumn of 2017, the number of European cities in which the
unique On-Street Parking Information service, which assists the driver
in finding a free parking space at the roadside, will be extended even
further. The digital parking space finder, which is available in
conjunction with the Real Time Traffic Information (RTTI) service for
all current BMW models, can be also used in the Swedish cities of
Stockholm, Gothenburg and Malmö as well as in the French cities of
Paris, Lyon, Marseille, Nice, Nantes and Toulouse. Moreover, the
cities of London, Manchester, Liverpool, Birmingham, Bristol,
Sheffield, Glasgow, Edinburgh and Belfast in the UK have been added to
  this list.</p>
<p>
  <strong>BMW Connected with new services.</strong></p>
<p>The intelligent networking of the vehicle and the driver’s Smartphone
will be further intensified with the service package BMW Connected+.
Since July 2017 the extended range of digital services has been
available for all current BMW models and BMW i models and comprises

<p>
<strong>Chengdu</strong>. The new BMW X1 xDrive25Le iPerformance has
been unveiled to the world at the Chengdu Motor Show 2016 as the
latest addition to BMW’s family of new energy vehicles (NEVs) and the
first plug-in hybrid in the compact luxury SUV segment. Manufactured
by BMW Brilliance, the new model combines driving pleasure with
cleanliness and environmental protection in addition to luxury and
quality. Moreover, it is fully in line with China’s development policy
for the NEV industry. All these underline BMW Group’s production and
R&D capabilities for sustainability in China and the Group's
dedication to leading the way in the NEV market.</p>
<p>The new BMW X1 xDrive25Le iPerformance was developed simultaneously
with the new BMW X1 Series launched some time ago. Riding on the
powerful, ground-breaking product strengths of the X1, it borrows the
innovative eDrive technology from the BMW i line-up to provide unique
electric driving pleasure, offering BMW fans yet another choice for
  green travel.</p>
<p>
  <span>
<strong>Electric drive performance and sheer driving
    pleasure</strong>. <br clear="all" /></span>Throughout its more than
a century of innovation, BMW Group has stayed true to its brand
essence of providing sheer driving pleasure, no matter how technology changes.</p>
<p>The X1 xDrive25Le iPerformance runs on both electricity and fuel,
with the petrol engine and electric motor powering the front and rear
wheels, respectively, with the intelligent energy management system
taking care of on-demand power response and energy efficiency
maximisation. This design, inspired precisely by the BMW i8 that has
been hailed as a future warrior, reflects BMW Group’s strategy of
applying the revolutionary innovations of the BMW i line-up to other
series-produced models by the BMW brand.</p>
<p>With BMW’s latest turbocharger technology, the 1.5-litre petrol
engine at the front axle is mated to a six-speed integrated
manual/automatic gearbox and churns out a maximum power output of 100
kW with peak torque clocking in at 220 Nm. The electric motor at the
rear axle, on the other hand, produces power up to 70 kW and can
instantaneously deliver a peak torque of 165 Nm at start-up. Thanks to
BMW’s proprietary eBoost function, both power systems can provide a
peak torque of 385 Nm allowing acceleration from stationary positions
to 100 km/h in just 7.4 seconds with a combined fuel consumption as
low as 1.8 litres per 100 km. Plus, BMW’s xDrive technology ensures
supreme traction and safe driving in all weather and road conditions
while at the same time enhancing stability during emergency lane
changes or cornering. No matter which type of energy is used, xDrive
optimises the driving dynamics and provides an optimal ride feel.</p>
<p>The X1 xDrive25Le iPerformance system comes packed with a
high-voltage lithium battery with a net capacity of 10.7 kWh to
provide a purely electric cruising range of 60 km and a combined
cruising range of 630 km when working in tandem with the 35‑litre fuel
tank. It delivers low emission and fuel consumption to meet the needs
for driving in any situation, whether in the city, the suburbs or for
  driving long distances.</p>
<p>BMW’s eDrive technology offers three modes for controlling the energy
source, all at the simple touch of a button: The driver can enjoy
sheer driving pleasure – just like driving any other BMW – by safely
leaving everything to the default Auto eDrive mode, which
intelligently selects either a single or a combination of energy
sources to maximise the combined energy efficiency with ease. For
example, electric drive is initiated at speeds of 80 km/h or below,
whether you are cruising at a constant speed or accelerating slightly.
However, at any time you step hard on the accelerator or when the
speed exceeds 80 km/h, the system activates the petrol engine
automatically, letting both power systems work in tandem with each
other to supply ample power and deliver the superior driving
  performance expected by the driver.</p>
<p>In Max eDrive mode, the car runs purely on electricity with zero
emissions at speeds up to 120 km/h and minimises the burden on the
environment – especially in urban traffic jams. When expecting to run
into a traffic jam, the driver can turn on the Save Battery mode to
save the battery capacity for later zero-emission, purely electric driving.</p>
<p>As with all other X1 models, the X1 xDrive25Le iPerformance comes
with BMW’s Driving Experience Control, offering Sport, Comfort and ECO
PRO. The Sport mode is performance-oriented and brings an even better
response from both the accelerator pedal and the engine. ECO PRO, on
the other hand, takes energy efficiency as a priority and results in a
relatively mild power response and reduced power consumption of in-car
electrical equipment such as air-cons. Also, the Comfort mode strikes
an optimal balance between comfort and energy efficiency.</p>
<p>It is worth mentioning that BMW’s Driving Experience Control can work
together with the eDrive energy management system to provide customers
  with richer driving pleasure.</p>
<p>
  <span>
<strong>Intelligent energy management, electrical energy priority
and fuel efficiency</strong>. </span>The only way to minimise fuel
consumption and exhaust emissions is to prioritise the use of
  electricity drawn from the grid. With a 220V / 16A charging wall-box,
the high-voltage lithium battery of the X1 xDrive25Le iPerformance can
be fully charged in 3.7 hours and charged to 80% in just 2.9 hours.</p>
<p>BMW has not only given the drive system a full overhaul, but also the
design of the car has been reinvented. The car air-con utilises an
electrically driven compressor powered by a high-voltage battery,
while the energy consumption of other in-car electrical systems also
comes from the energy stored in the battery.</p>
<p>Another important principle of the intelligent energy management
system is adequately improving fuel efficiency by keeping the engine
running as much as possible at rotational speeds within the efficiency
range during start-up. For this reason, the system determines when the
electric drive system needs to supply additional power based on the
energy output from the engine. Conversely, as a way to optimise the
overall energy consumption of the system, some of the engine’s power
output gets converted into electrical energy where appropriate –
depending on the battery status and driving needs and then stored in
  the battery.</p>
<p>The high-voltage lithium battery pack of the new X1 xDrive25Le
iPerformance, being placed in the middle of the chassis, sits at an
optimally safe position of the car, proven to provide safety
protection based on crash tests from the front, side and rear. With
the charging and discharging occurring within an optimal capacity
range and the use of a liquid cooling system, the battery always
maintains an appropriate operating temperature, bringing benefits to
its performance as well as prolonging service life.</p>
<p>Intuitive and user-friendly human machine interfaces allow more
proficient involvement of the driver in energy management.
Efficiencytainment, BMW’s unique energy efficiency display system, has
all energy consumption information covered. The energy flow status
gets displayed in real-time on the central screen as dynamic red and
blue arrows or icons. Besides that, there are also indicators on the
dashboard for the cruising range, charging status, energy consumption
and other relevant information which is presented in an easy to
understand manner to help the driver develop greener driving habits.</p>
<p>
<strong>Luxury and comfort with ground-breaking configurations. <br clear="all" /></strong>Based on the design aesthetics of the new BMW
X1, the new BMW X1 xDrive25Le iPerformance highlights quintessential,
recognisable elements of the NEV family: double-kidney air inlet
grille in blue high-gloss, BMW i logo under the charge port and the
C-pillar, door scuff and gear lever emblazoned with marks indicating
the use of eDrive technology. The new BMW X1 xDrive25Le iPerformance
is available as Cross Country and Sport packages, offering up to 10
body colour choices, allowing car owners to show a bit of their
personality with a rich variety of options.</p>
<p>Due to the electric drive system designed to sit entirely under the
frame, there is almost no compromise on the interiors. As with the new
  X1, the X1 xDrive25Le iPerformance has a wheelbase of 2.78 m, comes
with a large panoramic sunroof allowing more natural sunlight to enter
and boasts the most spacious and comfortable interior among its class.</p>
<p>Sporty seats at the front offer raised comfort and support, while the
rear seats slide fore and aft up to 13 centimetres. Folding down the
40:20:40 rear seat backrest allows boot capacity to vary between 445
and 1,550 litres. Electrically-powered boot opening also makes
  operation extremely convenient.</p>
<p>The car also comes with Park Assist, a system which is undoubtedly
very helpful in modern cities. This system automatically detects
suitable parking spaces and helps you park with ease. All the driver
needs to do is to change gear and control the brake pedal as prompted
while parking (curbside). Also, the zoned automatic air-con has a
highly efficient micro-filter capable of removing fine particulates
(PM2.5) with a filtration efficiency of 99%. Other extremely practical
configurations include a rear-view mirror assembly integrated with
electric folding, heating, parking assist and memory functions, an
  electronic handbrake and run-flat tyres.</p>
<p>
  <span>
    <strong>ConnectedDrive – convenient and in control</strong>.<br clear="all" /></span>In addition, the X1 xDrive25Le iPerformance comes
standardly equipped with basic BMW ConnectedDrive services, which are
free for ten years. BMW ConnectedDrive has always maintained a leading
position in the industry. Other than leading with continuous
technological innovations, the rich content, easy operation logic,
professional services and a sound system round out its immense
advantages. The basic services cover Teleservices and Emergency Call.
Customers may also add on optional premium value-added services such
as Enhanced ConnectedDrive, Concierge Services and Real Time Traffic Information.</p>
<p>With advanced BMW ConnectedDrive technology, the X1 xDrive25Le
iPerformance also comes with some unique convenient functions. You can
use the My BMW Remote app to turn on the air-con remotely, allowing
you to enjoy a comfortable ambient temperature the moment you step
into your car. The air-con runs on power supplied from the
high-voltage battery and does not affect the purely electric cruising
range even when connected to the charging wall-box for charging. You
can also use the My BMW Remote app to view the status of your car,
energy efficiency data as well as set driving routes through your
smartphone. The navigation system based on BMW ConnectedDrive also
includes information on public charging stations, making it easy for
the driver to find available charging piles anytime.</p>
<p>
<strong>360° ELECTRIC – comprehensive premium services for electric
travels. <br clear="all" /></strong>BMW Group has especially come up
with a 360° ELECTRIC programme to provide comprehensive services for
  electric travels.</p>
