BMW Motorsport website goes online
New on the Net: www.bmw-motorsport.com
Innovative web design and extensive information are the main features of the
new Internet site set up by BMW Motorsport. The website www.bmw-motorsport.com
will go online on Saturday, 3 March 2001 at 5 pm, just in time for the new
Formula 1 season.
For motorsport fans in general and BMW fans in particular, this new site offers
data material, initially in English, under the three headings: Philosophy,
Technology and Racing. A short time later the German version (Philosophie,
Technologie and Rennserien) will also be available.
'Philosophy' contains stories from the history of BMW motorsport - from early
motorcycle successes, touring cars and sports cars victories right up to last
season?s Formula 1.
'Technology' contains, for example, a three-dimensional model of last year's
BMW Formula 1 engine, information on the synergy effects between motorsport and
standard engineering and the structure of a BMW 320i for use in the German
Touring Cars Challenge, which features cars that are very closely based on
standard road cars.
The main focus of the 'Racing' section will be the latest results from Formula
1 with reports on the BMW WilliamsF1 Team and the skills of our rivals. Before
series such as the American Le Mans Series or the BMW ADAC Formula Junior Cup
gain entry to www.bmw-motorsport.com, Formula 1 fans can gain extra inspiration
at the weekend from Albert Park in Melbourne - from either a helicopter or from
a driver's perspective.
