Summary
Fiercely contested USCC race at Sebring – second ST podium spot of the year for BMW in the CTSCC.

USCC: BMW Team RLL finishes fourth and eighth at 12h Sebring.

The endurance classic “12 Hours of Sebring” (US) on Saturday was the second race of the United SportsCar Championship (USCC) season. In the GTLM class, BMW Team RLL missed out on the podium. Lucas Luhr (DE), John Edwards (US) and Jens Klingmann (DE) finished fourth in the BMW Z4 GTLM with car number 24 – after a thrilling and turbulent final phase. Their team-mates, Dirk Werner (DE), Bill Auberlen (US) and Augusto Farfus (BR,) were forced to make an unscheduled stop in the number 25 BMW Z4 GTLM. After a long repair break, the car took the chequered flag in eighth. In the GTD class, BMW works drivers Andy Priaulx (GB), Boris Said (US), Markus Palttala (FI) and Michael Marsal (US) in the BMW Z4 GTD of Turner Motorsport also finished in eighth.

 

CTSCC: Second podium of year in ST class for BMW in Sebring.
In round two of the 2015 Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge at the Sebring International Raceway it was again Team TGM owner Ted Giovannis (US) and David Murry (US) who were on the podium in the Street Tuner class. However, this time the number 64 BMW 328i bettered the team's best CTSCC finish ever in Daytona by crossing the finish line in second. The top-finishing BMW drivers in the Grand Sport class were Ashley Freiberg (US) and reigning champion Trent Hindman (US) in the number 46 Fall-Line Motorsports BMW M3. They finished eighth, leading two laps of the 59-lap, two and a half hour event that was held on Friday.

 

BMW M235i Racing Cup Belgium: Twelve BMW Teams receive their vehicles.

The BMW M235i Racing, which BMW has made available to privateer teams as a competitive customer vehicle at a reasonable price since the 2014 season, will now also take on race tracks in Belgium and the Netherlands: 2015 sees the debut season of the new BMW M235i Racing Cup Belgium. No fewer than 12 privateer BMW teams have registered for this new cup. They received their BMW M235i Racing vehicles in Zolder (BE) last week. The 2015 season of the BMW M235i Racing Cup Belgium gets underway on 5th April and the final race is on 5th November. A total of seven races in Spa-Francorchamps (BE), Zolder (BE) and Zandvoort (NL) are scheduled.
