Away from the track too, members of the large BMW Motorsport family around the world are also creating headlines. Full DTM test programme in Aragón.
Just days after Augusto Farfus (BR) claimed victory at the DTM race in Valencia (ES), BMW Team RMG and BMW Team RBM were back in action in Aragón (ES) for a series of tests. Test and development driver Marco Wittmann (DE) completed 754 kilometres on the first day of testing alone. The youngster was delighted to take part in the extensive tests and pleased with the findings that he and the engineers came away with from Spain. “The day was very busy. I was in the car from morning to evening, almost non-stop. That was great for me, because it allowed me to get to know the car better. Not only am I pleased, but everyone in the team is very happy with the test,” said the 22-year-old. “It was exciting to see how the driving characteristics of the BMW M3 DTM changed with different set-ups and tyres.” Alongside Wittmann, Joey Hand (US) and the two DTM rookies Fabio Leimer (CH) and Maxime Martin (BE) were also in action.
Celebrate like Farfus.
Having claimed his first DTM triumph, you might have expected Augusto Farfus to enjoy a few days away from the track. Not a chance! The BMW Team RBM driver was back in the realms of motorsport on Tuesday and Wednesday: the Brazilian travelled to the “Red Bull Ring” in Spielberg (AT), where he assisted guests of Premium Partner Castrol EDGE as an instructor at the Formula BMW Racing Experience. The racing enthusiasts took to the track in a Formula BMW FB02 and enjoyed taxi rides in the BMW M3 with the DTM star. “I really enjoyed this event,” said Farfus. “Where better way for a racing driver to celebrate a win than out on the track? I think Castrol’s guests were also delighted. Furthermore, I really like the circuit in Spielberg.”
Stage set to “Drive like Bruno”.
On Monday, the lucky winners of BMW Bank’s “Drive like Bruno” competition will embark on their own personal racetrack adventure: the participants will meet Bruno Spengler (CA) in Oschersleben (DE), where he will accompany them through the day and offer advice for their outings in the Formula BMW FB02 racing car, the BMW 1 Series and the BMW 3 Series. The BMW Team Schnitzer driver will be at the “Motorsport Arena”, where Spengler claimed his third win of the season in the BMW Bank M3 in September, until Wednesday. German BMW fans still have until 14th October to win places on the remaining two BMW driving events in Maisach (DE) and Zandvoort (NL). You can find more information at: www.drivelikebruno.de

The video of Liri and Augusto Farfus on the Nürburgring-Nordschleife (DE) is still very popular among motorsport fans around the world. With more than 1.2 million views, the 9:53-minute clip is the most-watched video in the history of the BMW Motorsport YouTube channel.

Tomczyk’s biggest challenge.
Successful racing driver Martin Tomczyk (DE) is a well-known figure. A new video on the BMW Motorsport YouTube channel allows fans to learn more about the adrenalin addict and sees him diving with sharks, experiencing zero gravity, and much more. However, he may be about to face his greatest challenge of all: fatherhood. In a video, Tomczyk takes a light-hearted look at what the future may hold for him.
