Munich/Oxford. One MINI, one mission – and now a milestone: on 20 June 2026, a MINI Cooper D reached the 1,000,000 kilometres mark at Plant Oxford.

For the owner, Peter Kirchoff, this number is far more than just a statistic. It represents passion, commitment, and an extraordinary bond between him and his MINI.

Peter Kirchoff configured the car exactly to his personal preferences – precisely 30 years after his very first driving lesson. “Even though the vehicle was mainly intended for long-distance journeys, as a MINI fan there was never any other option for me.” Peter’s decision proved right: over the course of twelve years, the MINI became an exceptionally reliable companion both in everyday life and on long journeys across Europe.

From dream specification to long-distance legend.
The vehicle impressed with a remarkable combination of efficiency and durability. Speaking on the durability of his MINI, Peter stated, “My MINI has never let me down: the original engine, no major repairs, no accidents – and sensationally low fuel consumption of 2.56 litres. Qualities other long-distance drivers can only dream of.”

“Nemo” – a name with character.
The MINI was given a name early on - Nemo. The reason is as personal as it is easy to understand for anyone who sees the car. Peter had chosen Volcanic Orange paint with white bonnet stripes., Peter Kirchoff covered hundreds of thousands of kilometres with Nemo & has travelled through 25 countries, whilst turning the vehicle into the centerpiece of an extraordinary project.

The Project one M.
The concept of reaching one million was no coincidence, but part of a clear plan. The “The Project one M” began when the vehicle was delivered by Autohaus Schmidt in Hamm. It was designed to run over twelve years – and was pursued with consistency. Anyone following Peter’s Facebook profile can see the precision behind the project: driving data has been continuously documented, analysed, and shared transparently. The result is a milestone that was not only driven, but systematically achieved.

Oxford – the emotional destination.
The choice of destination to hit 1,000,000 km was deliberate: Oxford is the birthplace of the modern MINI and remains the heart of its production to this day. The first modern MINI rolled off the production line there on 26 April 2001.

From one goal to the next stage.
Reaching a million kilometers does not mark the end of the journey – Peter is already looking ahead. “Completing the Project one M is at the same time the start of the One Million Miles Project.” An ambitious goal – and one that perfectly matches the story of this British MINI.

And if Nemo should one day weaken?
That question has also crossed Peter’s mind – even if only in theory: “In the unlikely event that I do not make it to 1,000,000 miles, I will probably buy an Aceman JCW E.” A clear commitment to the evolution of the MINI brand.

A MINI for eternity.
Nemo’s story is an impressive demonstration of what MINI stands for: character, efficiency, and driving fun – even across extreme distances. We wish Peter Kirchoff all the best for the next steps and believe his MINI is more than capable of many more hundreds of thousands of kilometers.

Munich. MINI and Paul Smith bring together what defines both brands: iconic form, meticulous detailing, and the freedom to reinterpret classic design with unexpected twists. The MINI Paul Smith Edition translates the designer’s signature style into a distinctive edition for the MINI Cooper family—recognisable through characteristic accents both inside and out. The edition is now readily available for the MINI Cooper 3‑Door (electric and petrol), the MINI Cooper 5‑Door, and the MINI Cooper Convertible.

Details with a British twist

Three exterior colours are available for the edition, including two exclusives. Statement Grey reinterprets the 1959 Mini Austin Seven shade in a contemporary way - a clean grey with a subtle blue hue. Inspired White echoes the beloved beige of the classic Mini in a modern tone. Completing the palette is Midnight Black Metallic, an elegant black from the current MINI colour range.

Defining the look are striking contrasts between body, roof, and accent colours, combined with the signature Paul Smith stripes. Door mirrors, the radiator grille surround, and wheel hub caps stand out across all models in Nottingham Green - a nod to the British designer’s hometown.

For the hard-top models, two edition-specific roof finishes are available: Nottingham Green or a more understated black with matte and gloss tone-on-tone striping.

Inside, the MINI Paul Smith Edition pairs British understatement with creative details. Vescin/knit upholstery in Nightshade Blue meets black knitted surfaces with subtle tone-on-tone stripes. A “Hello” projection when opening the door, the “Every day is a new beginning” inscription on the door sill, and the signature stripe textile element on the 6 o’clock spoke of the sport steering wheel add distinctive touches. A hand-drawn “Rabbit” graphic on the floor mat completes the characteristically British sense of humour.

Founded in 1959, Mini was born out of the visionary thinking of Sir Alec Issigonis, whose revolutionary small‑car concept responded to the challenges of its time by redefining how space, efficiency and driving enjoyment could be combined. With its compact dimensions, innovative front‑wheel‑drive layout and exceptional agility, the classic Mini quickly transcended its original purpose to become an automotive icon. With an impressive range of customization options, every MINI becomes a true reflection of its owner's unique tastes and character. From selecting paint colors to choosing upholstery and interior trims, each MINI can be finely tailored to personal preferences. Over the past 25 years, a host of options have been offered — among them, the famous bonnet stripes and the distinctive multi-tone roof stand out. Thanks to innovative techniques at the Oxford factory, the striking three-color roof design provides a visual highlight. Special editions have strengthened MINI’s image internationally and set new trends. In 2026, MINI pays tribute to British design and playful elegance with the MINI Paul Smith Edition.

In 2025, MINI recorded global sales of 288,290 vehicles. Battery electric vehicles comprised more than one third of worldwide deliveries and even surpassed 50% in markets like the Netherlands, Turkey, Sweden, and China. The sub-brand John Cooper Works reached an all-time high with 25,630 units sold, representing 8.9% of the total MINI volume.

Since joining the BMW Group, MINI has experienced a remarkable evolution, continuously developing yet remaining faithful to its heritage. BMW’s expertise has been actively integrated into MINI for more than 25 years, introducing advancements such as enhanced user interfaces, innovative assistant features and improved safety systems. The latest generations of the MINI family impressively demonstrate the safety commitment: numerous 5-star ratings in the Euro NCAP crash test confirm the high level of protection offered.

MINI manufacturing in British BMW Group Plants

Over the past 25 years, modern MINI production has evolved across four model generations, spanning a range of body styles including the original 3-door, 5-door, Roadster, Coupe, Clubman, Clubvan and Convertible. In total, 4,671,664 MINIs have now been built in Britain since 2001.

MINI’s modern era has been powered by its UK production heartland. At the centre of that story are two UK manufacturing hubs: Plant Oxford, the home of MINI production, and BMW Group Plant Swindon, where thousands of precision-engineered body panels are crafted every day.

Together, these two sites represent one of the UK’s most significant automotive manufacturing hubs, with a workforce of more than 3,000 highly skilled people producing around 800 MINIs a day. At Plant Oxford, a new MINI drives off the production line every 78 seconds.

Plants Oxford and Swindon have been at the heart of their communities for a very long time – 113 and 70 years respectively. The wider production story took another important step in 2006 when BMW Group Plant Hams Hall in North Warwickshire began producing engines for the MINI, with more than 4.6 million engines produced for the Oxford-built models.

Munich/Beijing. At Auto China 2026 in Beijing, MINI is making a bold statement for creativity and individuality with a large exhibition stand and 14 vehicles on display. From the world premiere of the MINI Countryman MINI x VAGABUND to the China premiere of the electric MINI × DEUS “The Skeg”, as well as a selection of special editions and exclusive paint finishes, the brand demonstrates just how many ways MINI can be interpreted and personalised. “Customisation” is positioned not merely as a technical add-on, but as an expression of personality, attitude and community.

Show highlight: MINI x Vagabund. MINI and the Austrian design studio Vagabund present a new creative project: two unique one-off vehicles based on the MINI Countryman make a bold statement for adventure spirit, community culture and festival lifestyle. Two vehicles that reinterpret the versatility and openness of the MINI Countryman in a new way. Distinctively redesigned wheel arches create a visually wider stance and give the vehicles a striking look. The electric MINI JCW × DEUS “The Skeg” is celebrating its first appearance in China. Featuring a radically weight-reduced, semi-transparent fibreglass body and functional, surf-inspired accessories, the one-off captures a lifestyle defined by freedom, movement and personal expression.

The wider MINI presence centres on a broad portfolio of personalised vehicles, addressing different lifestyles, design approaches and use cases. With market-specific editions for China as well as special models born out of established design partnerships, MINI shows how series-production vehicles can be clearly differentiated through colours, materials and details. Shown at an exhibition in China for the first time, the MINI Paul Smith Edition builds on a long-standing collaboration that combines MINI’s signature design with Paul Smith’s distinctive style. Exclusive exterior colours, refined design elements and unexpected details bring the shared MINI Paul Smith story into the present.

The personalised vehicles are complemented by community-focused, positioning MINI as a platform for cultural exchange and creative co-creation.

Munich/Milan. Presenting A Garden of Curiosity – an immersive installation cocreated by MINI and Paul Smith for the Salone del Mobile. Set in the historic Palazzo Borromeo d’Adda in Milan, A Garden of Curiosity adds yet another highlight to the rich history the collaborators already share. Connected by their British heritage and iconic designs, the two design houses come together to celebrate optimism, curiosity and innovative spirit. The installation combines Paul Smith’s signature use of colour with the eye for detail for which MINI is renowned and invites visitors to explore and enjoy the playful world of design. 

“Paul Smith and MINI complement one another perfectly, as our collaboration for this project demonstrates once again. We are united by the joy of design, and our shared enthusiasm for craftsmanship, innovation and individuality makes A Garden of Curiosity an experience full of colour, sound and expression,” said Holger Hampf, Head of MINI Design.

Visitors immerse themselves in colour and sound: an experience for all the senses

Set amid the enchanted garden of the Palazzo Borromeo d’Adda, the installation is accessed via a wooden footbridge that takes visitors across the courtyard and through a red door. The door represents a symbolic invitation to look and see. On the other side is the green space created by MINI and Paul Smith. It consists of pathways that are lined with plants and grasses and lead to open platforms and cubic installations. The iconic Paul Smith Signature Stripe runs discreetly through the garden as a recurring design element. Architecture, textures, colour and sound converge to create sensory experiences. 

Interactive theme rooms

The Colour Theory Room acts as a visual intersection between Paul Smith’s signature colour palette and the colours of the new MINI Paul Smith Edition. Visitors can arrange colour samples on an interactive wall, the overall picture changing constantly throughout the day with each new personal design. In keeping with the philosophy of Sir Paul, the wall also gives visitors the opportunity to experiment with colour combinations.  

The Listening Room builds on this experience with Sir Paul’s voice recordings, highlighting the importance of colour theory. Another open platform invites visitors to experience the space with all their senses, allowing them to consciously enjoy a moment away from the hustle and bustle of Milan.

Adding the joy of discovery to the installation, the new MINI Cooper Convertible Paul Smith Edition is waiting to be found and invites visitors to take a closer look. Its appearance and details not only reflect Paul Smith’s distinctive style, but also capture the brand’s playful, optimistic and independent spirit. This exclusive highlight of the installation merges into the charming overall scene.

“I’ve always adored my visits to Milan for Salone del Mobile and I’m delighted to be back in the city to introduce the world of design to my new MINI. I look forward to sharing this special project with you all,” said Sir Paul Smith.

Heritage meets curiosity

Walking through the courtyard to the installation, visitors are immersed in the history of MINI and Paul Smith. Here, they can explore three cars from the collaboration between the two companies, which stretches back to 1998: the Paul Smith 40th Anniversary Mini, the MINI STRIP by Paul Smith and another MINI Cooper from the latest Edition. The specially created colour Nottingham Green adds stylish accents to the Edition’s mirror caps, octagonal radiator grille and wheel hub covers with Paul Smith lettering. A selection of others details also reflect the distinctive style of Paul Smith and ensure this MINI Edition captures the essence of ‘classic with a twist’. 

The Paul Smith 40th Anniversary Mini: A one-off car from 1999, whose bodywork morphed into a living work of art with 86 stripes in 26 colours. The interior also contained surprising use of colour (e.g. the lime green glove compartment) and highlighted Paul Smith’s playful style.

The MINI STRIP by Paul Smith: Another one-of-a-kind creation, the MINI STRIP of 2021 – based on the MINI Cooper  – was reduced to the essentials, as per the principle of ‘less is more’. The minimalist design put the focus on construction and function, with the aim of showcasing a new-at-the-time, responsible approach to design.

A Garden of Curiosity will be open on 21 – 26 April 2026 as part of the Salone del Mobile in Milan. It can be visited in the House of MINI at Via A. Manzoni 41 each day between 10.00 a.m. and 7.00 p.m.

Munich. The new MINI Paul Smith Edition combines MINI´s iconic design with Paul Smith´s famous design language “Classic with a Twist”. This special edition for the entire MINI Cooper family captivates with its unique look. The appearance and details of the vehicles not only showcase Paul Smith´s unmistakable style, but also the playful, optimistic and independent spirit of MINI.

The fully electric MINI Cooper Paul Smith Edition is the first model of the new edition to hit the roads: With its 218 hp (160 kW) front-wheel drive, the MINI Cooper SE Paul Smith Edition combines unique design with locally emission- free driving fun. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.7 seconds.

Exterior: sporty accents with iconic styling

The MINI Cooper SE Paul Smith Edition in Midnight Black gives the 3-door model a more classic look. The roof, also in black, attracts attention with its interpretation of the famous Paul Smith signature stripes. Instead of the familiar colours, glossy and matt black stripes.

The MINI Cooper S Paul Smith Edition features another colour developed especially for this edition: Inspired White. The roof in exclusive Nottingham Green ensures an unmistakable look and adds a fresh contrast to the external paintwork. The roof edge on the driver´s side is a real eye-catcher thanks to the colourful Paul Smith signature stripes.

Additionally, to these two exterior colours, all models in the MINI Paul Smith Edition are available in the exclusive colour, Statement Grey.

In contrast to the three body colours, Nottingham Green, inspired by the British designer´s hometown, adorns the side mirrors, octagonal radiator grille and wheel hub caps with Paul Smith lettering for all colour variants.  

The 18-inch Night Flash Spoke Black alloy wheels with tinted clear coat in Dark Steel give the MINI Paul Smith Edition a dynamic look.

Interior: British humour and creative details

The interior, which is the same in all variants, features Nightshade Blue seats and black knitted surfaces with tone-on-tone striped patterns, exuding understated British elegance. Once the car door is opened, a light projection welcomes the driver with a friendly “Hello”. This welcome is complemented by Paul Smith´s central message “Every day is a new beginning” on the door sill. Another creative interior centrepiece is the textile band on the 6 o´clock spoke of the sports steering wheel in Paul Smith´s signature stripes – a characteristic design feature that underlines the British designer’s unmistakable style. A hand-drawn graphic of his trademark “rabbit” adorns the floor mat, emphasizing the brit´s sense of humour and complementing the interior design in a stylish way.

The fully electric MINI Cooper Paul Smith Edition is already available in select markets.

The fully electric MINI Cooper - which has already been awarded 5 stars in the Euro NCAP crash testing in March 2025 - has once again received outstanding recognition from the esteemed Euro NCAP institute: the "Best in Class for Safest City & Supermini of the Year 2025." This prestigious award emphasises MINI's leading position in safety within the premium small car segment. With its three variants - MINI Cooper E, MINI Cooper SE, and MINI John Cooper Works Electric - the model impresses not only with its electric drive technology and characteristic go-kart feeling, but also with its comprehensive standard safety equipment.

Jean-Philippe Parain, Head of the MINI brand, emphasises: “We are very pleased about yet another accolade for the MINI Cooper Electric, which has just won the Euro NCAP Best in Class. This award is another compelling confirmation that MINI models offer outstanding safety. The MINI Cooper, as well as the MINI Countryman and MINI Aceman, have been rated with the maximum number of stars. This underlines our commitment to ensuring both driving pleasure and maximum safety standards.”

Euro NCAP praises the consistent advancement in occupant protection, active and passive safety systems, as well as innovative driver assistance technologies that make urban driving safer. The fully electric MINI Cooper features an integrated safety concept with comprehensive occupant protection, standard pelvic seatbelt pretensioners, and a wide range of assistance systems to prevent accidents.

Protection of pedestrians and cyclists also achieves a very high score for this vehicle class, tallying 77 percent in the 2025 Euro NCAP crash test. Safety ratings are also outstanding with 89 percent in occupant protection, 87 percent in child safety, and 79 percent in safety assist systems.

The combination of top-level safety, driving enjoyment, and iconic design makes the second generation of the fully electric MINI Cooper the ideal vehicle for today’s demands of urban mobility.

Tokyo. The Japan Mobility Show is a showcase for innovation and mobility. Attending the show also provides an opportunity to discover the diversity and beauty of Japan away from the metropolis of Tokyo. The drive along the Irohazaka Road, a spectacular, winding mountain road in the Nikko region, combines driving pleasure with breathtaking nature.

The journey begins in the centre of the Japanese capital and continues north to Nikko National Park, around 180 km away. The Irohazaka Road starts there, connecting Nikko National Park with the Oku-Nikko plateau and leading through the most beautiful colours of autumn. However, it is not only a scenic highlight, but also a challenge for drivers - the perfect stage for cornering fun with the MINI John Cooper Works. Equipped with a powerful 2.0-litre four-cylinder twin-turbo petrol engine with 231 hp (170 kW) and a maximum torque of 380 Nm, each of the 48 bends becomes pure driving pleasure.

The seven-speed automatic transmission with dual clutch gives the powerful three-door model intense acceleration, perfect for winding roads. Standard paddle shifters offer the driver additional control over performance. London / Munich. Paul Smith and MINI – two traditional British brands have taken their partnership to the next level and created something great: The new MINI Paul Smith Edition. Following the MINI STRIP in 2021 and the MINI Recharged by Paul Smith in 2022, the British designer is now bringing his world-famous design language – ‘classic with a twist’ - to the MINI Cooper 3-door, 5-door and MINI Cooper Convertible for the first edition of the new MINI family. The look and details not only show Paul Smith’s signature style - but also the brands playful, optimistic and independent spirit. The MINI Paul Smith Edition celebrates its world premiere on October 29 at Japan Mobility in Tokyo.

Unmistakable look with a British twist.

Combining MINI design with Paul Smith’s distinctive style: Exclusive exterior colours, sophisticated accents and unexpected details bring the shared history of MINI and Paul Smith into the present.

"MINI and Paul Smith embody a shared mindset of positivity, embracing the motto of this edition: 'Every day is a new beginning.' Our collaboration celebrates a mutual love for design and meticulous attention to detail. Unexpected elements, such as the 'hello' projection on the ground and Paul Smith’s handwritten inscription bring a smile to your face right upon entering the car," says Holger Hampf, Head of MINI Design.

The MINI Paul Smith Edition offers a choice of three exterior paint finishes, two of which are edition-exclusive: Statement Grey is a modern interpretation of the classic MINI Austin Seven colour from 1959 – a clear, bluish-tinted grey shade and self-confident statement of timeless modernity. Inspired White is a contemporary homage to the popular Classic Mini Beige colour, and finally the elegant and classic Midnight Black Metallic from the current MINI Family.

Regardless of body paint, a specially created colour - Nottingham Green, an homage to Sir Paul’s hometown - creates sophisticated accents on the contrasting side mirrors, the octagonal radiator grille and as a paint finish for one of the two roof colour variants.

In addition to the colour variants, numerous details characterise Paul Smith's signature and make the MINI Paul Smith Edition unmistakable: The ‘Signature Stripe’, a central design feature of the British designer, adorns the roof in Nottingham Green at the rear of the driver's side. The alternative version of the roof in Jet Black features elegant black stripes in varying thickness, both matte and glossy. The MINI Cooper Convertible Paul Smith Edition is supplied with a black soft top.

All edition vehicles are equipped with 18-inch Night Spoke aluminium wheels with tinted clear coat in Dark Steel, with the Paul Smith lettering.  The MINI logo at the front and rear is offered in newly designed Black Blue and complements the colour composition of Paul Smith and MINI. On the boot handle, Paul Smith’s signature refers to the creative spirit behind the vehicles design.

British restraint and elegance in the interior.

British character is also reflected in the interior with numerous components featuring a modern, elegant look. The knitted surfaces on the dashboard and door panels appear in black, while Paul Smith fabrics in tone-on-tone stripe patterns served as inspiration for the special design of the dashboard. The Nightshade Blue sports seats are made of Vescin and have knitted textile in the shoulder and headrest. Drawn from the Signature Stripe, the decorative stitching on the steering wheel's textile band is designed in bright colours - quintessentially Paul Smith.

The round display in the centre of the cockpit also appears with one of three different Paul Smith backgrounds when Personal Mode is selected. Small hidden details underline the British design influence - but also the playful character of the designer: when the door is opened, the driver and front passenger are greeted with a handwritten ‘Hello’ as a light projection on the floor and Smith's motto ‘Everyday is a new beginning’ on the door sill, reflecting the positive mindset of both brands.  A graphic of a small stylized ‘rabbit’ hand-drawn by Paul Smith on the floor mat complete the interior details.

A collaboration that blends British heritage, bold creativity and contemporary sophistication.

MINI and Sir Paul Smith: two icons that are not only linked by their British heritage but also look back on exclusive collaborations resulting in unique styling. Their joint creative success story began in 1998, when the designer created a limited edition of the classic Mini: a specially created blue colour and matching anthracite-coloured alloy wheels lent the iconic model the signature of Paul Smith.

To mark the 40th birthday of the classic MINI in 1999, the fashion designer dipped an exclusive one-off in his characteristic stripe design, using 86 stripes in 26 colours.

In 2021, the MINI STRIP celebrated its world premiere: a vehicle designed using only what Paul Smith considered absolutely necessary. The result was a customised one-off car that despite its minimalist design and in keeping with Smith's guiding principle of ‘classic with a twist’, was not without unexpected and loving details.

In 2022, Paul Smith went back to the roots of the collaboration with the MINI Recharged by Paul Smith. A classic found its way into the now: a Classic Mini from the 1998 MINI Paul Smith Edition was transformed into a modernised electric vehicle. With a focus on quality, sustainability and functionality, a contemporary driving concept was created that can also be seen as a tribute to the tradition and heritage of the classic MINI.

But it is not only Sir Paul Smith who inspires MINI with creative ideas - the inspiration also works in reverse: the designer repeatedly uses MINI as a motif on exclusive pieces in his collections. Munich / Tokyo. The Japan Mobility Show 2025 becomes the stage for the latest milestone in the long-standing collaboration between MINI and British designer Paul Smith. It will be unveiled as part of the BMW Group Keynote on 29 October 2025 at 09:55 (JST) at the BMW Group stand, based in the West Exhibition Hall of the show.

MINI and Paul Smith: A creative success story.

The MINI Paul Smith Edition is a new chapter in the success story of the two British brands. The long-lasting relationship began in 1998, when the designer wrapped a Classic Mini Cooper in his trademark visual design. To mark the 40th anniversary of the Classic Mini in 1999, the designer lent his characteristic Paul Smith "Signature Stripe" to a one-off model. After two further one-offs - the MINI Strip in 2021 and the MINI Recharged by Paul Smith in 2022 - Paul Smith's design language returns to MINI.

As part of the BMW Group stand at the Japan Mobility Show, MINI is presenting the diverse range of its current product portfolio. The MINI Cooper family is represented by showcasing the MINI Cooper SE, which combines heritage, technology and driving pleasure. The latest model in the MINI family presents itself as a versatile companion and not only demonstrates MINIs typical "Clever Use of Space" - but also brings a powerful driving experience to the road as a performance-enhanced version thanks to 258 hp produced from the 54.2 kWh electric battery. Finally, the MINI Countryman S ALL 4 will also be present on the BMW Group stand at the Japan Mobility Show: as the largest of the MINI family, the car offers generous space and fits in perfectly for those looking for longer adventures and spontaneous exploring.

Well outside London, the MINI Cooper S 5-door (combined fuel consumption: energy consumption 6.8–6.3 l/100 km; CO2 emissions 153–141 g/km according to WLTP) impresses with its powerful 2.0-litre TwinPower Turbo engine with 150 kW (204 hp) and 300 Nm maximum torque, thanks to its performance and technical precision, even away from the urban metropolis. Munich. Overall excellent performance in crash protection and well equipped with state-of-the-art crash avoidance technology – these are the requirements for a 5-star rating in the Euro NCAP (European New Car Assessment Programme). The MINI Cooper 3-door and the MINI Aceman have been awarded this top rating by the European Consumer Protection Institute for their safety in all engine versions. The top rating was also achieved through the extensive standard equipment with safety-related driving assistance systems.

The top ratings for the MINI Cooper and MINI Aceman are not the first awards for the current MINI family: the all-electric MINI Cooper and MINI Countryman have also already been awarded five stars for their high level of safety.
The two latest top marks in the Euro NCAP rating once again underline the brand’s commitment producing vehicles that are not only extremely attractive but also particularly safe.

Top rating in four safety categories.
The MINI Cooper three-door achieves a safety compliance rating of 83 % in the occupant protection category and 82 % in child safety. With a rating of 81 % for pedestrian protection and 77 % for safety assistants, the model is certified as having a high level of safety overall – especially in the small car segment.
The MINI Aceman achieved very strong results, scoring 83 % for occupant protection and 87 % for child safety, and also scored well for pedestrian protection (77 %) and safety assistants (79 %).

All model variants impress in terms of safety.
The 5-star Euro NCAP rating applies to all engine variants of each model: the three-door MINI Cooper C, MINI Cooper S and MINI John Cooper Works, as well as the MINI Aceman in the MINI Aceman E, MINI Aceman SE and MINI John Cooper Works Aceman variants, all performed well in passive and active safety tests.

Euro NCAP: Europe-wide benchmark for safety.
Euro NCAP is an initiative by automotive associations and government agencies to assess the safety of new vehicles. The aim is to improve the protection of occupants and other road users. The ratings awarded by the Euro NCAP testing institute are a Europe-wide benchmark for accident safety and are continuously being tightened.

Sixty-six years after the launch of the now legendary Classic Mini, the MINI brand looks back on decades of racing success, visionary innovation, groundbreaking design – and unmistakable driving pleasure.

The MINI family combines tradition and modernity.

With the relaunch of the MINI family over the past two years, the brand has once again aligned its pioneering design and historical heritage with the future: with a new, charismatic generation of the MINI Cooper and MINI Countryman, the world premiere of the MINI Aceman, the first crossover model for the premium segment, and the launch of the new MINI Convertible, MINI combines tradition and innovation in the present.

V priponki so tehnične specifikacije za MINI John Cooper Works, veljavne od 11/2024.

Ljubljana, 23. april 2025. Električni MINI-ji so včeraj dokazali, da trajnostna mobilnost ni samo prihodnost, ampak tudi zabava v najčistejši obliki. MINI Slovenija je pripravil celodnevno doživetje, ki je s svojo premišljeno, okusno in doživljajsko zasnovo navdušilo vse čute – od razgledov in vožnje pa do gurmanskih užitkov.

Start avanture je bil v MINI salonu Wallis Motor Ljubljana, kjer se je po jutranji kavi in MINI »speed datingu« z modeli MINI Cooper E, MINI Aceman SE in MINI Countryman SE ALL4 začelo elektrificirano popotovanje po zahodni Sloveniji.

Prva postojanka? Gozdovi Krasa in nepozaben lov na tartufe z izkušenimi štirinožnimi vodniki, ki so udeležence popeljali v skrivnostni svet kulinaričnih draguljev. Skupaj so tudi posadili drevo, kar je bil MINI korak za novo življenje. Vonj po tartufih se je hitro prelevil v okušanje in uživanje v dobrotah z močnim okusom v Hiši Krasna. Pot je nato vodila po ovinkastih briških cestah, kjer so električni MINI-ji pokazali svojo igrivost v pravem go-kart slogu. V Villi Eva, sredi oljčnih nasadov Goriških Brd, je sledilo okusno raziskovanje oljčnega olja. Za veliki finale pa so gostje uživali v kosilu na posestvu Tavarneta Estate, kjer so se brbončice sprostile ob razgledu, bazenu in sezonski kulinariki.

Celoten program je bil zasnovan z mislijo na izkušnjo, ki povezuje trajnost, lokalne okuse in užitek v vožnji. Električni MINI-ji so udobno poskrbeli za užitek v vsakem kilometru poti, vse od mestnih ulic do briških gričev. Ob koncu dneva so goste pripeljali nazaj v Ljubljano. Brez hrupa, brez emisij, a z obilico spominov.

Z MINI-jem se torej tudi vožnja spremeni v zgodbo. Tokrat v tako, ki bo še dolgo odmevala.

MINI John Cooper Works: Born on the racetrack, raised on the streets .
In its motor show appearance, MINI is particularly highlighting the new generation of John Cooper Works models. At the same time, it is honouring the brand's motorsport history. A classic Mini that was used in the legendary Monte Carlo Rally will be displayed on the highlight area. Additionally, the MINI John Cooper Works Pro, which won its class at the legendary 24 hours race on the Nürburgring last year, will be displayed.

John Cooper Works now also fully electric.
MINI is presenting the first two fully John Cooper Works models. With the MINI John Cooper Works Electric and the MINI John Cooper Works Aceman, racing enthusiasts now have the choice between two fully electric high-performance models for the first time. Through their powerful electric powertrains, they embody MINI's ongoing pursuit of performance and innovation. The electric boost function provides an additional 20kW of power, giving the models an especially high-performance drive.

MINI John Cooper Works Aceman. 
The MINI JCW Aceman combines electric high performance with creative use of space. The progressive design of the newest member of the MINI family transports the brand's core idea into the present: maximising the interior space within a minimum footprint, combined with an innovative drive concept.  The John Cooper Works variant of the MINI Aceman achieves a top speed of 200 km/h and sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.4 seconds. Visitors can once again interactively experience the MINI Experience Modes around the all-electric MINI John Cooper Works Aceman. The focus here is on the new John Cooper Works Mode, which exclusively transfers MINI's motorsport DNA into the JCW models.

The MINI John Cooper Works Countryman ALL4: Sporty Performance meets thoughtful comfort.
The largest member of the John Cooper Works family, the MINI JCW Countryman ALL4 in traditional British Racing Green reminds of the brand's motorsport history and stands out with its impressive interior space. The generous rear-seat legroom in the model provides passengers in the back with ample space. The versatile luggage compartment creates more room for a sporty adventure.

Also on display: the MINI Cooper Convertible.
As the most emotional model in the MINI family, the MINI Cooper Convertible is celebrating its motor show premiere at Auto Shanghai 2025. The open Four-Seater embodies MINI's openness and is therefore fully in line with its 'Always Open' philosophy. Thanks to the powerful four-cylinder petrol engine and the open-top roof, the MINI Cooper Convertible S provides an unmistakable open-air driving experience.

Ljubljana. V četrtek, 26. septembra 2024, je potekal prav poseben dogodek, ki je združil strast do avtomobilizma, trajnostnega načina življenja in kulinaričnih užitkov. Dan se je začel v MINI salonu Wallis Motor Ljubljana, kjer so se zbrali številni kreativni in navdihujoči posamezniki ob skodelici kave in slastnih prigrizkih. V prijetnem vzdušju so predpremierno v Sloveniji spoznali popolnoma novega MINI Aceman. Navdušenje nad prvim križancem v segmentu premijskih malih avtomobilov je bilo očitno, ko so se prisotni pobliže spoznali z novo ikono družine MINI.

Dan je bil namenjen spoznavanju z novo družino MINI, ki ji manjka le še frajer, ki se rad pokaže zgoraj brez. Tako so vplivneži sedli v avtomobile, med katerimi so bili električni in bencinski 3-vratni MINI Cooper, 5-vratni MINI Cooper ter električni in bencinski MINI Countryman. Za MINIje velja, da so odlični za prebijanje skozi mestne ulice v veliki gneči, obenem pa se prav tako znajdejo na panoramskih ovinkih, kjer lahko voznik uživa v gokart občutku, ki ga lahko ponudi le MINI. Ali je to res, so najprej preizkusili v jutranjem ljubljanskem prometu. 

Prva postojanka je bila urbana manufaktura Kaaita, kjer so se seznanili z zgodbo o trajnostnih slovenskih copatkih. Alenka Repič, ustanoviteljica in kreativna vodja podjetja Kaaita, je ob predstavitvi poudarila, da je pri ustvarjanju resnično trajnostne zgodbe pomembna celotna veriga vrednosti in iskrena predanost ciljem vseh vpletenih. Ob tem pa poudarila, da so v svetu, ki je vedno v gibanju, ustvarili blagovno znamko, ki bo posameznike navdihnila, da se ustavijo in sprostijo. »Bodite svobodni, da ste to, kar ste, da se sprostite in sanjate. Če ste CHILLAX, se lahko zgodi karkoli,« je še dodala.

Iz mestnega vrveža je vplivneže slikovita vožnja pripeljala do Eko Glamping Resorta Krištof, kjer so uživali v okrepčilu in prisluhnili strokovnjaku iz Oxforda, ki je predstavil novo družino MINI. To odlikuje povsem nov oblikovalski jezik, ki se vrača k bistvu in poudarja edinstven značaj vsakega modela. Jasna in minimalistična oblikovalska zasnova ustvarja sodoben in prijeten občutek v prenovljeni notranjosti. Pomemben prispevek k temu daje tudi nova barvna in materialna shema: inovativni materiali, sveže barve in novi vzorci ustvarjajo značilen občutek znamke, ki notranjost preoblikuje v prostor dobrega počutja.

Po predstavitvi nove družine MINI je strokovnjak iz Continentala govoril tudi o trajnostni strategiji podjetja in goste seznanil z UltraContact NXT gumami, ki predstavljajo prelomnico v svetu pnevmatik. Povedal je tudi, da bo v prihodnosti morda regrat nadomestil kavčuk. 

Po informativnih predstavitvah je prišel čas za sprostitev in ustvarjanje. Udeleženci so se razdelili v dve izmenični skupini: ena je uživala v wellness tretmajih, medtem ko je druga pripravljala okusne jedi iz domačih sestavin pod vodstvom MINI ambasadorja Jorga Zupana. Kulinarična delavnica je bila polna smeha in ustvarjalnosti, nastale pa so izjemno okusne jedi.

Dan se je zaključil nad 1.500 metrih, kjer so napredni asistenčni sistemi v novih MINIjih pomagali rezati v gosto meglo zavite ovinke Krvavca. V Brunarici sonček so pripravili izvrstne jedi na žlico iz samih domačih sestavin in poskrbeli, da je skozi meglo zasijalo od energije in dobre volje. Dan, poln doživetij,  prežet z dobro energijo, smehom in idejami, ki so pustile prav poseben pečat, bo nedvomno vsem prisotnih ostal še dolgo v spominu.

The new MINI Operating System 9 is intuitive and easy to operate. MINI Navigation helps you navigate through 3D visualization and augmented view and, in addition to current information on traffic conditions, also provides information on free parking spaces including an integrated digital payment option and much more. A high level of driving pleasure, safety, and comfort is provided by the precise MINI typical steering combined with an automatic sports transmission, powerful brakes, and a low center of gravity. The increased track width of the MINI three-door vehicle optimizes driving dynamics in demanding situations. With 150 kW/204 hp, the 2.0 liter TwinPower Turbo engine accelerates the MINI Cooper S (combined fuel consumption: 6.4 — 6.1 l/100 km; combined CO2 emissions: 144 — 138 g/km in accordance with WLTP) with 300 Nm maximum torque from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.6 seconds.

In the John Cooper Works Trim, exclusive equipment details underline MINI's motorsport DNA and remind of the performance-oriented model series due to its aesthetics. Since the legendary victories at the Monte Carlo Rally in the 1960s, the high-performance MINI John Cooper Works models regularly demonstrate the brand's engineering skills to this day, currently with a class victory in the 24-hour race at the Nürburgring in June 2024.

Design inspired by racing.
With distinctive diffusers at the front and rear, the JCW Trim of the MINI Cooper S focuses on performance. The John Cooper Works logo, embossed with clear outlines in the traditional red-white-black color scheme with the symbolized target flag, also stands for this. These trim-specific details are particularly visible on the octagonal front grille in high-gloss black.

The contrasting roof and mirror caps in black provide visual highlights. JCW brake calipers in black with JCW badge and exclusive rim designs in sizes of 17 inches and 18 inches reinforce the MINI Cooper S's powerful appearance in JCW Trim.

John Cooper Works interior with motorsport focus.
Made of black synthetic leather, JCW sports seats for driver and passenger accentuate the exclusive sportiness of the John Cooper Works trim with multicolor knitted material in the shoulder area and red accent seams. The color scheme inspired by motorsport continues on the knitted surface of the dashboard with a trim-specific black and red pattern in the style of a checkered flag.

The high-resolution OLED display with 240 mm diameter summarizes all vehicle-related data. The navigation, media, telephone, and climate settings are easily accessible to the driver and front passenger at any time via the central instrument. With the new MINI Experience Modes, the interior ambiance can be individually coordinated. In the John Cooper Works inspired GO-KART mode, the interior lighting and the central display are anthracite red.

Safe driving and easy parking.
The automatic speed- and distance control helps facilitate traffic while driving. When navigating, the MINI navigation supports the driver through 3D visualization, augmented view, the presentation of the current traffic situation, information on parking options including digital payment options, and much more. As part of the comprehensive Driving Assistant Plus function package, camera and radar-based assistance functions increase safety by assisting with steering and lane keeping.

Munich. The MINI Cooper S 5-door offers passengers more space and comfort. The model is 172 mm longer than the MINI three-door model and has a 72 mm larger wheelbase. Thanks to compact external dimensions, short overhangs, and a small turning circle of 11.4 meters, the five-door model remains a versatile vehicle for the city. Thanks to the increased tire diameter to 625 mm, the MINI Cooper 5-door looks more visually present. At the same time, this improves driving dynamics and driving comfort. The 60:40 folding rear seats allow the volume in the luggage compartment to grow from 275 liters to up to 925 liters and underline the universal idea of MINI: Plenty of space in a small footprint.

Efficient gasoline engine for sporty mobility.
The MINI Cooper S 5-door model has a four-cylinder engine with 150 kW/204 hp (combined fuel consumption: 6.8 — 6.3 l/100 km; combined CO2 emissions: 152 — 141 g/km in accordance with WLTP; CO2 class E) with a maximum torque of 300 Nm. It accelerates to 100 km/h in 6.8 seconds and reaches a top speed of 242 km/h.

The increased track width and longer wheelbase in combination with a precisely tuned suspension and damping system ensure a high level of comfort and lively handling. Combined with the precise steering feel typical of MINI and powerful brakes, this guarantees a high level of comfort in everyday life. Highly prestressed stabilizer bearings on the axles ensure balanced body behavior when dynamically cornering and increase steering precision.

Favoured Trim with individual expression.
Four different trim variants focus on different vehicle characteristics. In Favoured Trim, both the front grille frame and specific design elements are highlighted in vibrant silver and expand the individual expression. The reduced form language of the new MINI design comes into its own in the colour Icy Sunshine Blue. In addition to the brand typical Multitone Roof with a gradual colour gradient, there are three contrasting colours as well as the respective vehicle colour and a total of eleven body colours to choose from. Aerodynamic rim designs in sizes between 16 inches and 18 inches offer further exterior equipment options.

Minimalistic and innovative interior.
Textile surfaces characterize the feel-good atmosphere in the MINI Cooper interior. A specially developed knitting process creates the easy-care, versatile structure of the textile made from recycled polyester. In high-quality Favoured Trim, a two-tone houndstooth pattern adorns the knitted surface of the instrument panel and extends into the door trim. The perforated vescin sports seats are available in Nightshade Blue and Beige and with traditional accent stitching.

The cockpit of the new MINI Cooper 5-door is reminiscent of the puristic design of the classic Mini. With the round OLED display, all vehicle functions can be operated by touch or voice. In the upper area, vehicle-related information is displayed. At the bottom of the OLED display, the menu items Navigation, Media, Telephone and Climate can be selected directly.

The parking brake, gear selector, start/stop key, experience mode and volume control functions are directly accessible via the characteristic toggle switch strip. Instead of a gear selector, there is more storage space in the center console with an open shelf for smartphones. These can be charged via wireless charging and are always at hand.

New driver assistance systems make everyday life easier.
Thanks to 12 ultrasonic sensors and four surround view cameras, Parking Assistant Plus can identify parking spaces more precisely and independently initiate space-restricted parking processes. MINI Digital Key Plus turns the smartphone into a key. As soon as the driver is within three meters of the vehicle, the welcome projections of the front and rear lights start, and the doors open at a distance of less than one and a half meters. The digital key can be transferred to various users and replaces the transfer of the classic vehicle key for easier car sharing.

With a length of 4,036 mm, a width of 1,744 mm and a height of 1,464 mm, the body dimensions are almost identical to those of its predecessor and underline the basic idea behind every MINI: To create as much space as possible on a small footprint.
In the case of the MINI Cooper 5 Door, this means an interior that offers enough space for five passengers. Compared to the new MINI Cooper 3 Door, the wheelbase is 72 mm longer and the body 172 mm longer. All of which benefits the occupants in terms of comfort and space. Short overhangs, clear surfaces and expressive accents also give the new MINI Cooper 5 Door its unmistakable charisma. Inside, digital innovations and an immersive user experience take the MINI DNA to a new level. 

The larger body version of the purist MINI Cooper also delivers the brand's hallmark driving fun and agile handling. There is a choice of two efficient petrol engines which, combined with the modern chassis and precise steering, deliver the hallmark MINI go-kart feeling.

The three-cylinder petrol engine of the MINI Cooper 5 Door C generates 115 kW/156 hp. The MINI Cooper 5 Door S is powered by a four-cylinder petrol engine with 150 kW/204 hp. Hallmark MINI steering and powerful brakes ensure a high level of driving fun, safety, and comfort. Compact dimensions, short overhangs, and a small turning circle of 11.4 metres make the MINI Cooper 5 Door a versatile model for the city.

The design language of the current MINI family presents the traditional values of the brand with a striking clarity. The authentic design language of the new models combines advanced technology with elementary principles of vehicle design and brand origins.

The exterior.
Short overhangs, a small bonnet, a long wheelbase, and large wheels - the proportions of the MINI Cooper 5 Door reflect its urban character.

Thanks to its compact silhouette, the model is easy and comfortable to manoeuvre even in tight spaces - with plenty of room for all passengers.  The new MINI Cooper 5 Door is an original MINI with a high recognition value. The visual tripartite division into a clearly designed body, a wraparound window area and a stepped roof makes it instantly recognisable.

The minimalist design of the front end with its focused expression contributes to this. The new generation also features the iconic MINI round headlights. Together with the octagonal front grille, they form the distinctive MINI face. Standard LED headlights with individually adjustable daytime running light elements enhance the striking appearance. The optional light signatures are available in three versions to emphasise the character of the vehicle. The MINI Cooper interacts with the driver using a specially orchestrated welcome and goodbye animation even before the journey begins.

Reduced body design for a striking look.
The new MINI aesthetic continues at the rear with clear surfaces and flush-fitting taillights. The vertically aligned LED clusters are reminiscent of the classic MINI lights and, like the headlights, can be switched to different settings.

The flush-mounted design of the rear lights lends a modern and purist look to the car’s rear sculpture. It is subdivided by a striking black handle strip with distinctive model lettering. Its horizontal alignment emphasises the new MINI Cooper's broad stance.

Four trims with individual equipment options.
The new MINI Cooper 5 Door is available in eleven expressive body colours. For the roof, there is a choice of three contrasting colours, the car colour and the characteristic multi-tone roof with a gradual colour gradient. The different colour tones highlight different features of the car and showcase the new MINI design language in a variety of ways.

The car can be personalised with four different exterior trims. The Essential Trim, which comes as standard, emphasises the minimalist overall appearance and highlights certain functional parts such as the logo in Vibrant Silver. Starting with the Classic Trim, the roof is available in black or white, as is the Multitone roof with its unique colour gradient. The contrast with the body colour gives the MINI Cooper a particularly expressive look. 

In the Favoured Trim version, the front radiator grille frame and certain design elements are finished in Vibrant Silver, further enhancing the individuality of the MINI Cooper.

The JCW Trim emphasises the sporty side of the MINI Cooper 5 Door. Exclusive design features such as the striking front and rear diffusers, radiator grille surround and high-gloss black JCW logo allude to MINI's motorsport heritage. Chili Red is available exclusively for the contrasting roof.

The tyre diameter is larger than on the outgoing model, emphasising the wide stance of the new MINI Cooper 5 Door. Aerodynamic wheel designs in 16 and 18-inch sizes offer further exterior options.

The interior.
The interior of the new MINI Cooper 5 Door also features the brand's typical combination of new elements, technical innovations, and references to the brand's history.

Minimalist and immersive.
The design of the front end of the new MINI Cooper 5 Door is reduced to the essentials and is reminiscent of the purist design of the classic Mini. Legendary inventor Alec Issigonis designed an interior for the first model with a round instrument in the centre and the characteristic toggle switch strip below. These two elements also structure the cockpit in the MINI Cooper 5 Door.
The minimalist design of the interior makes do with fewer components, which are cleverly designed and manufactured to a high standard. Behind the steering wheel, the optional, slim, combined head-up display ensures that all relevant content appears in the driver's field of vision. As a result, the dashboard on the driver’s side does not require an additional instrument panel, so it opens the view to the front.

Innovative materials characterise the feel-good atmosphere in the interior of the MINI Cooper. A specially developed knitting process is used to create the versatile, easy-care structure of the textile in two-colour design made of recycled polyester. The textile surfaces extend across the curved dashboard and into the door panels. The air vents feature an especially flat design. The horizontal arrangement of the air vents ensures an even flow of air in the cockpit. The direction of the vents can be easily adjusted.

The generous space in the front seats and the clean lines give the cockpit a modern and airy look. Thanks to the panoramic glass roof, the interior is particularly bright. The seats are available in a standard version and in a JCW version. Their side panels are upholstered in high-quality fabric right down to the adjustment buttons. Three passengers can sit comfortably in the rear.

High-resolution OLED display revolutionises user experience.
Like the round instrument of the outgoing model, the new central icon with its versatile functions is the visual focal point of the interior. The central OLED display in the redesigned cockpit has been moved closer to the driver, making it easier to reach. Its high resolution sets a new standard. Thanks to the MINI Operating System 9, all vehicle functions can be controlled intuitively by touch or voice. The slim touch display has a high-quality glass edge, has grown to 240 mm in diameter and its operating logic is reminiscent of the standards familiar from smartphones.

The graphical presentation of content focuses on the essentials. Vehicle-related information is displayed at the top. The lower part of the OLED display provides direct access to the navigation, media, phone and climate control menus. The home button returns the display to its default settings.

The MINI Experience Modes.
The seven MINI Experience Modes can be selected according to mood and personal preference and characterise the atmosphere in the interior.

Using the MINI Projector on the rear of the OLED display, they transform the dashboard into matching worlds of colour and pattern. The interplay of projection, ambient lighting and the MINI Interaction Unit creates a unique, immersive experience that extends into the door trim. This opens new possibilities for individualisation. In Personal Mode, for example, a personalised image can be selected as the display background via the MINI App. The dominant colours of the picture are then applied to the dashboard's textile surfaces using a digital colour picker. The ambient lighting under the dashboard and in the door mirror is also colour-coded to match these projections.

Each mode has its own customised backgrounds. In Go-kart mode, for example, the display and interior are dominated by the John Cooper Works signature charcoal grey and red.

The new design of the rocker switch strip.
Just like the iconic centre console, the rocker switch strip with its toggle switches is as legendary as the MINI itself - and yet it has been carefully updated time and again. In the latest version, the parking brake, gear selector, start/stop button, Experience Mode, and volume control are all at your fingertips. Practical benefit: The removal of the gear selector has freed up more space in the centre console, which now features a large open storage compartment in addition to the cup holders. Smartphones can be charged in the wireless charging area at the front of the console and are always ready to hand.

Four newly designed interior trims.
The new colour and material concept for the MINI Cooper 5 Door is deliberately minimalist. High-quality, environmentally friendly materials are used, such as the knitted recycled polyester surfaces on the dashboard and door trim.

Four newly designed trims underline the feel-good concept. The Essential Trim includes black sport seats with patterned multi-tone fabric and a matching fabric strip on the dashboard. A new accent colour, Vibrant Silver, is used to highlight certain interior and exterior functional elements.

Starting with the Classic Trim, the standard two-spoke steering wheel is replaced by a three-spoke version with a textile band at the six o'clock position. A 2D knitted fabric in grey and black on the dashboard and doors contrasts with the imitation leather seats.

A two-tone houndstooth pattern on the knitted dashboard is particularly expressive. The perforated Vescin sports seats are available in two colours with traditional accent stitching.

JCW Trim is a sporty interpretation of the new material concept. Combined with multi-coloured knitted fabric and black imitation leather with red stitching, the colour scheme echoes that of the dashboard and door trims.

Digital services.
"Hey MINI" - the new MINI Intelligent Personal Assistant.
In the new MINI Cooper, numerous functions can be controlled using the brand’s first fully-fledged voice assistant. The MINI Intelligent Personal Assistant can be activated with the greeting “Hey MINI” or else by using the push-to-talk steering wheel button. Voice-controlled interaction takes place on the circular OLED display in the form of an animation of graphic elements, typography, and an avatar. Users can choose between the visualisation of "MINI" - a stylised representation of a MINI - and the virtual travel partner "Spike". The driver can easily control navigation, telephone, entertainment, and numerous vehicle functions by voice.

The MINI Intelligent Personal Assistant continuously learns from repeated routes. Drawing on geo-based data, for example, the vehicle can learn to automatically open the window when entering a car park. This makes everyday life much more convenient.

The new MINI Operating System 9.
The MINI user interface combines functional and emotional elements. The design is reduced, creating a very modern look based on new graphics. Static and dynamic elements blend naturally into the circular shape of the MINI Interaction Unit, following a clear structure. Micro animations reinforce the intuitive interaction between the driver and the central instrument, thereby underlining the digital character of the new MINI family.

The MINI Operating System 9 is an in-house development of the BMW Group. Operation is intuitive and follows standards that are familiar from the consumer electronics sector.

The home menu is located in the centre of the screen. The status bar with the menu items Navigation, Media, Telephone, All Apps and (depending on the situation) Home is located at the bottom of the screen. Favourite functions such as navigation destinations or radio stations can be stored in the tool belt for quick access. The upper part of the screen is reserved for driving-related content, such as speed and important vehicle status information. The optional head-up display presents the most important information in the driver’s line of sight.

In conjunction with the MINI Connected Package, the full MINI Navigation Package supports the driver during the journey with realistic 3D visualisation of turn situations, a display of the current traffic situation even when the route guidance system is not activated, information on parking facilities including digital payment options and much more.

With MINI Digital Key Plus, the smartphone becomes the key and opens the car automatically. The welcome projection of the front and rear lights begins as soon as the driver is less than three metres away; the doors are unlocked when the driver is at less than one and a half metres away from the car. The digital key is transferable to different users, thereby facilitating car sharing in that it is no longer necessary to hand over a conventional vehicle key to the other person.

The drive.
The new MINI Cooper 5 Door with petrol engine.
The new MINI Cooper 5 Door is available with a choice of two efficient petrol engines. Within the new model family, MINI refers to the performance levels with the designations C and S. The entry-level model is the MINI Cooper C with a 115 kW/156 hp three-cylinder engine (consumption combined: 6.6 – 6.0 l/100 km (62 miles); CO2 emissions combined: 149 - 136 g/km according to WLTP) with 230 Nm (170 lb/ft) of torque. This enables the vehicle to accelerate from a standstill to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 8.0 seconds and reach a top speed of 225 km/h (134 mph).

The MINI Cooper S has a 150 kW/204 hp four-cylinder engine (consumption combined: 6.8 – 6.3 l/100 km (62 miles); CO2 emissions combined: 153 - 141 g/km according to WLTP with a maximum torque of 300 Nm (221 lb/ft). It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 6.8 seconds and has a top speed of 242 km/h (150 mph).

Comfortable and sporty mobility.
The track width and wheelbase are generous for this vehicle segment and provide the basis for the hallmark MINI dynamic performance. The MINI Cooper 5 Door features a suspension and damping system tuned for spirited handling. This ensures a high level of everyday driving comfort, combined with the precise steering feel typical of MINI and the powerful brakes.
Highly preloaded anti-roll bar mounts on the axles ensure balanced body handling during dynamic cornering. They also ensure steering precision and accuracy. The result is excellent body support combined with smooth rolling comfort. 

Selective tuning of the steering and all stability control systems ensures an exceptional experience in all driving situations. An adaptive suspension with frequency-selective damping system is available for particularly sporty driving. The increased tyre diameter of 625 mm gives the MINI Cooper 5 Door a greater visual presence. At the same time, driving dynamics and ride comfort are improved. In addition, the tyre width of the optionally available 17-inch and 18-inch rims is increased to 215 mm in order to emphasise the typical MINI go-kart feeling. Available rim sizes range from 16 to 18-inches.

The new petrol-powered MINI John Cooper Works, cloaked in a bespoke camouflage designed by the MINI Design Team, pays homage to the iconic red and white color schemes used for classic Minis in motorsports in the 1960s.

Celebrating its world premiere in fall 2024, the New MINI John Cooper Works marks a significant milestone in MINI's commitment to innovation and heritage. In a bold move, the new MINI John Cooper Works lineup, developed to push the boundaries of speed and agility, will be available in both petrol and all-electric versions.

In a nod to Mini’s historic victory of the Mini Cooper S at the 1964 Rallye Monte Carlo 60 years ago, the racecar features a distinctive “37” logo, commemorating this milestone achievement. This emblem serves as a homage to MINI’s rich motorsport tradition.

The New MINI John Cooper Works #317 will be entered by the private racing team from Nürburg, Bulldog Racing, and will be competing in the SP 3T category.

Dubbed “MINI John Cooper Works PRO”, the MINI Twin-Power Turbo racecar represents the perfect fusion of MINI's iconic design and reliability and Bulldog Racing's track-tested expertise.

The second entry will be the beloved black MINI John Cooper Works #474 manual transmission, which showcased its prowess by securing a podium finish at last year's 24 Hours of Nürburgring, proving its mettle against fierce competition in the VT-2 category, cementing its status as a formidable contender in endurance racing.

As anticipation builds for its debut, MINI fans and automotive enthusiasts alike can expect an unforgettable showcase of the New MINI John Cooper Works capabilities at this year’s 24 Hours of Nürburgring from June 1^st to June 2^nd 2024.

Munich / Beijing. At Auto China 2024 in Beijing, the BMW Group presents the latest progress in its change towards electrification, digitalisation and circularity. World premieres of new BMW and MINI models take centre stage. The BMW Vision Neue Klasse, which heralds the next generation of BMW vehicles, is on show for the first time in China.

„With the NEUE KLASSE, we are carrying BMW into the future: in design, technology and philosophy. It begins already next year when we will release the NEUE KLASSE onto the market. Not with niche models – but starting in our most successful, highest-volume segments,“ says Oliver Zipse, Chairman of the Board of Management of BMW AG.

The BMW Vision Neue Klasse signals the start of a new era of individual mobility and provides a glimpse of the BMW brand's future model generation. It is rich in digital experiences, locally emission-free and circular in the long term to ensure typical BMW driving pleasure for future generations. Production of the Neue Klasse series models will start in 2025, initially at the BMW Group plant in Debrecen and shortly afterwards in China.

The brand's most popular electric vehicle worldwide is currently the BMW i4, the new version of which will celebrate its world premiere at Auto China 2024. The success of the BMW i4 confirms the BMW Group's open technology approach, which makes it possible to produce vehicles with purely electric drive systems and highly efficient combustion engines on a common platform. In Beijing, the new BMW i4 will be shown to the public for the first time together with the BMW 4 Series Gran Coupé's combustion engine variants, which have also been further developed.

The world premiere of the MINI Aceman at Auto China 2024 marks the third member of the brand's new model family. The all-electric crossover model closes the gap between the new MINI Cooper and the new MINI Countryman.

"What the NEUE KLASSE is to BMW, the New MINI Family is to MINI: the most desirable product range in the history of the brand and the biggest investment we ever made in MINI. The Beijing International Automotive Exhibition, in short: Auto China, is one of the most important trade fairs in the international automotive industry. The 18th edition of the exhibition, which alternates with Auto Shanghai, will be held under the theme "New Era, New Cars" and will be open to the public from 25 April to 4 May 2024. At the China International Exhibition Centre in Beijing, car manufacturers, suppliers and service providers from all over the world will present their new models, products and technologies. The BMW Group brands will present their current product range on an exhibition area of around 2,000 square metres.

China premiere: The BMW Vision Neue Klasse.

The BMW Vision Neue Klasse combines the BMW Group's innovative strength and development expertise in the key future fields of electrification, digitalisation and circularity. A reinterpretation of the brand's typical design goes hand in hand with the progress embodied by the Vision vehicle. A clear design language reduced to the essentials with generous surfaces and few striking lines creates an almost monolithic body. Characteristic features such as the BMW radiator grille and the Hofmeister kink counter-swing on the C-pillar. are brought into even sharper focus.

In the interior, the next generation of BMW iDrive offers a unique digital user experience that merges the real and virtual worlds. It consistently puts the driver and his needs at the centre. In addition to the multifunction buttons on the steering wheel and the Central Display, the driver can interact with the vehicle using the innovative BMW Panoramic Vision. For the first time, it projects information across the entire width of the windscreen and is complemented in the Neue Klasse series by the enhanced BMW 3D Head-Up Display. Analogue controls are reduced to a minimum in the BMW Vision Neue Klasse.

The increased use of secondary raw materials, resource-conserving production methods and all-electric drive with sixth-generation BMW eDrive technology will reduce the CO₂ footprint of the Neue Klasse over the entire life cycle of the vehicles. In order to increase recyclability and take a decisive step towards a circular economy, the variety of materials used has also been reduced. An improved dismantling concept also helps to optimise the recycling of Neue Klasse vehicles.

World premiere: The new BMW i4, the new BMW 4 Series Gran Coupé.

The appeal of pure electric premium mobility is also being consistently enhanced in the current model range of the BMW brand. The BMW i4 will be available in four model variants on the world's automotive markets as part of an extensive model revision. The Connected Home Charging Package for intelligent, solar- and load-optimised charging at home will be offered in the first pilot markets. The BMW i4 also offers the Plug & Charge Multi Contract function, which enables charging at fast charging stations without an app or card.

The latest advances in digitalisation are represented by the latest generation of BMW iDrive with QuickSelect based on BMW Operating System 8.5, which is available in both the new BMW i4 and the combustion engine models of the new BMW 4 Series Gran Coupé. With the BMW Curved Display and the BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant, the enhanced BMW iDrive is consistently geared towards operation via touch functions and natural speech. The digital update in the new BMW i4 and the new BMW 4 Series Gran Coupé is accompanied by a redesign of the instrument panel. New steering wheels, interior trims and seat upholstery add modern accents to the premium ambience of all model variants.

On the exterior, the sporty profile of the premium mid-range models, which are extremely successful with both all-electric and conventional drive systems, has been sharpened by the redesign of the BMW radiator grille and headlights. In conjunction with the optional adaptive LED headlights, all models also feature exclusive laser rear lights. The range of exterior colours for the BMW i4 and the BMW 4 Series Gran Coupé has been extended to include the new Cape York Green metallic and Fire Red metallic variants. New aerodynamic 19-inch and 20-inch wheels are also available.

World premiere: the new MINI Aceman.

With its all-electric drive, progressive crossover proportions and innovative digital features, the new MINI Aceman brings fresh impetus to the premium small car segment. It combines the brand's hallmark agility with creative use of space and high functionality, making it the ideal companion in the city. With four doors and a large tailgate, the MINI Aceman is just over four metres long and offers room for five passengers and plenty of storage space for everyday use and weekend excursions.

As a character in its own right, the MINI Aceman appeals to customers who value the expression of individuality and personality in an urban environment. Its reduced, purist exterior design with clearly defined contours and strong edges is an expression of the new MINI design language "Charismatic Simplicity".

The intelligent interior concept maximises space by cleverly arranging seats and stowage compartments to make the most of the available room. The expressive and colourful interior design is made possible by the use of high-quality materials and innovative technologies such as the 3D knitting process for the textile surfaces. The MINI Interaction Unit with circular OLED display, MINI Experience Modes and dynamic projections on the dashboard and door sills provide a holistic user experience of light, motion, interaction and sound.

Munich/Beijing. MINI fans can look forward to the 18th Beijing International Automotive Exhibition 2024. From April 25 to May 4, MINI will be presenting the new generation of the new MINI Family at the China International Exhibition Center in Beijing. As part of the Chinese motor show with the theme “New Era, New Cars,” MINI is celebrating the world premiere of the first-ever MINI Aceman. With its independent, all-electric vehicle concept, the MINI Aceman occupies the position between the MINI Cooper and the MINI Countryman.

Together with the electric MINI Cooper in both power levels “E” and “SE” and the MINI John Cooper Works Countryman ALL4 with intelligent all-wheel drive, MINI is presenting the range of its new product portfolio at the Auto China 2024.

Auto China has been held in Beijing every two years since 1990. On more than 200,000 square meters of exhibition space, over 700 exhibitors present their portfolio in what is currently the world's largest automotive market.

The MINI Cooper: Maximum emotion in a minimal footprint.
With a fully electric drive, the MINI Cooper is available as Cooper E and with higher performance and range Cooper SE. Together with the octagonal front grille, the iconic round headlights define the distinctive face of the all-electric vehicle. As with the entire new model family, four vehicle trims (Essential, Classic, Favoured, JCW Trim) are available for the MINI Cooper.

At Auto China 2024, MINI presents the Cooper E in Favoured Trim. The exclusive exterior details of the equipment variant are expressively showcased in Sunny Side Yellow with contrasting roof and mirror caps in white. The MINI Cooper E impresses with 135 kW/184 hp and thrilling acceleration without delay. The battery of the MINI Cooper E (combined power consumption: 14.3-13.8 kWh/100 km according to WLTP; combined CO2 emissions: 0 g/km; CO2 class: A) achieves a range of 305 kilometers in the WLTP test cycle with a capacity of 40.7 kWh.  28 minutes of charging time at 75 kW is enough to charge the MINI Cooper E battery from 10 percent to 80 percent.

Electrified go-kart feeling with increased range.
In the MINI Cooper SE (combined power consumption: 14.7 — 14.1 kWh/
100 km according to WLTP; combined CO ₂ emissions: 0 g/km; CO2 class: A), the spontaneous power delivery of the 160 kW/218 hp electric motor creates even more emotions. The high-voltage battery with a capacity of 54.2 kWh achieves a range of up to 402 kilometers in the WLTP test cycle.

At Auto China 2024, the MINI Cooper SE in British Racing Green is a reminiscent of the racing successes of its classic predecessor.
In Classic Trim, the two-tone black and blue knit surface on the dashboard and doors provides an elegant contrast to the high-quality seats made of vescin. The interior of the MINI Cooper is based on the new MINI design language “Charismatic Simplicity.”
The round OLED display, the characteristic toggle switch bar and the redesigned steering wheel characterize the minimalistic look of the cockpit.

 At its booth in Beijing, MINI also presents the Cooper SE
in John Cooper Works Trim. The red contrasting roof adds a characteristic highlight to the Legend Grey shade. Exclusive design features such as the distinctive diffusers in the front and rear areas, the radiator grille and the JCW logo in high-gloss black emphasize the sporty character of the trim. In the interior, JCW sports seats with multi-colored knitwear and black synthetic leather with red stitching reflect the color scheme of the dashboard and door panel.

The MINI John Cooper Works Countryman ALL4:
Powerful versatility even off paved roads.
Also in Beijing: The largest MINI. With standard ALL4 all-wheel drive and 221 kW/300 hp high-performance engine, the MINI John Cooper Works Countryman ALL4 (combined fuel consumption: 8.3 — 7.8 l/100 km in accordance with WLTP; combined CO ₂ emissions: 187 — 177 g/km; CO2 class: A) sprints from standstill to 100 km/h in just 5.4 seconds.

The typical JCW, contrasting chili red on the mirror caps, the roof and the inlays on the air outlets, together with the shiny Midnight Black shade, accentuate the sportiness of the model. The interior of the versatile MINI model offers plenty of space.
This means that even bulky items can be transported in the luggage compartment with a volume of up to 1,450 liters when the bench is folded down.

The MINI Experience Modes are available for particularly immersive driving experiences. In addition to specific graphic elements on the
OLED display, MINI fans can experience the entire interior in a new way through special lighting graphics in different colors and patterns.

Whether MINI Cooper, MINI Aceman or MINI Countryman — the new MINI Family combines the MINI typical driving pleasure with efficient drive technologies and numerous options for customization.

Fuel consumption, CO2 emission figures and power consumption and range were measured using the methods required according to Regulation VO (EC) 2007/715 as amended. They refer to vehicles on the German automotive market. For ranges, the NEDC figures take into account differences in the selected wheel and tire size, while the WLTP figures take into account the effects of any optional equipment.

All figures have already been calculated based on the new WLTP test cycle. NEDC figures listed have been adjusted to the NEDC measurement method where applicable. WLTP values are used as a basis for the assessment of taxes and other vehicle-related duties which are (also) based on CO2 emissions and, where applicable, for the purposes of vehicle-specific subsidies. Munich. The fifth generation of the MINI Cooper comes with a broad drivetrain portfolio of purely electric engines, as well as efficient gasoline engines. The MINI Cooper S equipped with four cylinders (combined fuel consumption: 6.4 — 6.1 l/100 km; combined CO2 emissions: 144 — 138 g/km in accordance with WLTP) combines a 150 kW/204 hp gasoline engine with a suspension and damping system tailored to agile handling.
The 2.0 liter TwinPower turbo engine with 300 Nm maximum torque accelerates the vehicle in 6.6 seconds from 0 to 100 km/h.

Classic trim with expressive details.
There are four vehicle trims to choose from for the MINI Cooper S.
With Classic Trim, additional body colors and contrasting roof finishes are available. The elegant Ocean Wave Green color accentuates the minimalist design of the iconic MINI three-door model. The contrasting roof and mirror caps in white increase the presence of the MINI Cooper S.

Tight overhangs and a short bonnet contrast with the wheelbase and give the vehicle the typical MINI proportions. The wheel portfolio includes wheels in sizes from 16 inches to 18 inches.

In Classic Trim, the cockpit is characterized by black-blue surfaces made of two-tone knitted material. High-quality Vescin seats in grey or black form a striking contrast. The perforated houndstooth pattern on the backrest and seat as well as blue accent stitching and patterned fabric inserts on the sides accentuate the stylish design of the interior.

Agile, flexibly, and extremely comfortable.
With compact exterior dimensions, the classic three-door model from MINI stands for maximum driving fun. Its increased track width optimizes driving dynamics in demanding situations.
Numerous driver assistance systems increase safety and comfort in the MINI Cooper with a gasoline engine. The Safe Exit function monitors the area surrounding the parked vehicle and warns approaching road users before the door is opened. During stop & go traffic, Active Cruise Control relieves the driver by automatically keeping the distance from the vehicle in front and continuously monitoring the road. The standard Parking Assistant automatically recognizes parking spaces and takes over the automatic parking process at the push of a button. On the go, the brand's first full-fledged voice assistant helps you operate the MINI Interaction Unit.

Monday 11 March – Today sees the start of production for the new, fifth generation MINI Cooper at the home of MINI, Plant Oxford.

 Associates at MINI Plant Oxford were joined by Head of MINI, Stefanie Wurst for a special on-site event in which the first three-door model was driven off the production line by Charlie Cooper, grandson of the legendary John Cooper, whose heritage inspired the Cooper moniker.

Commenting on the start of production, Stefanie Wurst, Head of MINI said, “This milestone underscores our commitment to our roots while propelling us into a dynamic future of driving. Plant Oxford is the heart of the MINI brand, and today, as we witness the birth of this new chapter, we renew our pledge to craftsmanship and the thrill of motoring."

The new MINI Cooper is the latest generation to be built in the UK, with all three BMW Group UK manufacturing sites contributing to production: BMW Group Plant Swindon produces body pressings and sub-assemblies, while the latest highly-efficient three and four-cylinder petrol engines are built at BMW Group Plant Hams Hall in North Warwickshire.Finally, these parts come together at MINI Plant Oxford where body shell production, paint and final assembly take place.

Since the launch of the first modern MINI in 2001, over 4.4 million MINIs have been produced in Britain - including 150,000 MINI Electric models which were built between 2019 and 2023.

With its high level of flexibility, competitiveness and expertise, the MINI Oxford plant plays an important role in the BMW Group's production network, and is currently preparing to build two new all-electric MINI models from 2026. The BMW Group will then have invested a total of more than 3 billion GBP in the Swindon, Hams Hall and Oxford plants.

Announced last month, the new MINI Cooper arrives as the third member of the new MINI family, joining the MINI Cooper Electric and the new MINI Countryman. Available in two model variants: the MINI Cooper C and performance-enhanced MINI Cooper S, the latest three-door merges traditional brand values with innovative, future orientated technology.

The model’s exterior silhouette features clear surfaces, short overhangs, and a short bonnet which combined with a contrasting long wheelbase, achieves the typical MINI proportions. Moving inside, the interior is minimalistic, with the entire cockpit focussed on just three elements: a revolutionary circular OLED display, the new Vescin steering wheel and the toggle bar. The MINI Cooper will be priced from £22,300 RRP with first customer deliveries in spring 2024.

Individual front and rear design with a motorsport look.

The new John Cooper Works logo, which is characterised by clear outlines, stands out particularly well with its traditional red, white and black colour scheme and the symbolised chequered flag on the octagonal front grille. The powerful appearance of the MINI Cooper SE in JCW Trim is achieved, among other things, by 18-inch wheels in Lap Spoke 2-tone design with ten spokes each and JCW brake callipers in eye-catching red. Bonnet stripes on the body emphasise the sporty character.

As standard the MINI Cooper SE in JCW Trim includes striking diffusers at the front and rear. The radiator grille surround and logo are finished in high-gloss black. Visual highlights include the contrasting roof and the mirror caps in Chilli Red.

The MINI LED headlights have individual light signatures. With the selected JCW signature, the front lights only show two horizontal stripes as daytime running lights and emphasise the minimalist design of the new MINI Cooper SE. The graphics of the matrix rear lights underline the width of the rear of the vehicle.

Racing-inspired interior.

The JCW seats combine synthetic leather with red stitching and multi-coloured knitted material in the shoulder section. The black and red colour concept is continued on the 2d-knit covering the interior of the door and the dashboard – the passenger side of which is adorned with the JCW-specific pattern in style of a chequered flag.

The central, high-resolution OLED display with a diameter of 240 mm bundles vehicle-related data and provides information on navigation, media, telephone and climate settings. With the MINI Experience Modes, it offers new possibilities for individualisation. These include the John Cooper Works-inspired GO-KART Mode, which colours the display and interior lighting anthracite red. In addition to the special GO-KART sound, the optimised throttle response of the accelerator pedal in this mode enhances the sporty driving experience.

New driver assistance systems and efficient charging.

With 12 ultrasonic sensors and four surround cameras, Parking Assistant Plus simplifies parking and identifies free parking spaces. The advanced EXPLORE Mode offers a unique solution for this vehicle segment: it allows parking via smartphone without the driver having to sit in the MINI.  A significant plus in convenience when parking space is tight at the side.

Fast charging with direct current is possible with up to 95 kW. This means that the battery can be charged from 10 per cent to 80 per cent in just under 30 minutes at a quick-charging station. The high-voltage battery is charged with 11 kW using alternating current. When navigation is activated, the high-voltage battery of the MINI Cooper SE is prepared to the ideal temperature for efficient charging depending on the weather conditions. The advantage: a significantly shorter charging time, especially at low outside temperatures.

Together with the newly designed octagonal front grille, the iconic round headlights define the striking face of the all-electric MINI Cooper SE. LED headlights with optional light signatures emphasise the vehicle's character and enhance its individual expression. The differently designed light modes start and end with a specially orchestrated welcome or goodbye animation.

The compact silhouette is characterised by typical MINI proportions. These include short overhangs, a short bonnet and a contrasting long wheelbase. This exciting appearance makes the MINI Cooper SE stand out in the urban jungle with classic design features and a contemporary aesthetic. The new, modern MINI design also characterises the clear surfaces of the rear section with flush tail lights.

Reduced to the essentials, the new MINI Cooper SE gains not only a strong presence and increased dynamics, but also additional efficiency. Thanks to the further optimised aerodynamic properties, the vehicle achieves a cW value of 0.28.

Emotional design in the interior for an immersive user experience.
The new minimalist interior in the MINI Cooper SE impresses with digital, immersive and warm characteristics. Fewer components, which are cleverly designed and implemented to a high standard, successfully transport the famous design of the classic Mini into the present. The purist interior of the new MINI is structured by the round OLED display, the characteristic toggle switch bar and the newly designed steering wheel. The curved dashboard is made of textile surfaces for the first time and characterises the feel-good atmosphere of the new MINI Cooper SE.

In the cockpit, the central, high-resolution OLED display sets a new standard. The new central instrument is both an experience and a comfort centre, and in the new MINI Cooper SE it moves closer to the driver for convenient operation.

Numerous functions such as navigation, telephony and entertainment can be operated with the brand's first fully-fledged voice assistant. The voice-controlled interaction takes place on the round OLED display in the form of an animation of graphic elements, typography and an avatar.

MINI Experience Modes and four newly designed trims offer a wide range of customisation options.
The MINI Experience Modes give the interior even more expressiveness through new solutions and take individualisation in the MINI Cooper SE to a new level. Each mode has specially designed backgrounds that look lively and high-quality with the greatest possible freedom from distraction. The MINI Projector can be used to immerse the dashboard in atmospheric colour worlds and patterns that are matched to the Experience Mode selected. The unique, immersive experience of projection, ambient lighting and MINI Interaction Unit extends into the door panels.

New driver assistance systems make everyday driving easier.
With 12 ultrasonic sensors and four surround cameras, the MINI Parking Assistant Plus simplifies parking and can identify possible parking spaces more clearly. TheExplore Mode also offers a unique solution for the vehicle segment. This allows the new MINI Cooper SE to be easily controlled and parked from the outside using a smartphone if the space at the side is too small for entry.

Once parked, the Remote 360 option allows the surroundings of the parked vehicle to be viewed via the MINI App, thus increasing safety. Shared moments can be captured by the snapshot function of the interior camera and transferred to the smartphone via WiFi Direct. The innovative MINI Digital Key Plus option also turns the smartphone into a digital key and facilitates car sharing. Numerous individual vehicle settings can be stored in this way, each ensuring a personalised vehicle experience.

New York. Just a few days after its world premiere at the IAA Mobility 2023, the new all-electric MINI Countryman made its debut in New York. The occasion was the panel "Driving Forward: The Transforming of Future Mobility", which was organised by URBAN-X, the startup accelerator founded by MINI, as part of Climate Week NYC.

At the event, the all-electric MINI Countryman made its North American debut. The new MINI Countryman E enables locally emission-free electric mobility with driving pleasure typical of the brand. More space in the interior and the increased electric range of up to 462 km* invite you to go on excursions beyond the city limits. It combines a distinctive design, advanced drive technology and an immersive digital experience.

The new MINI Countryman Electric is an important step for MINI on the way to becoming an all-electric brand by 2030, combining locally emission-free electromobility with the greatest possible environmental compatibility, including in production. This includes surfaces in the interior made of recycled polyester as well as the production of the light alloy cast wheels from up to 70 percent secondary aluminium.

At the panel discussion "Driving Forward: The Transforming of Future Mobility", representatives from the start-up world, the automotive industry and urban planning discussed current challenges and possible solutions to transform urban mobility in the future.

URBAN-X was founded by MINI in 2016. Since then, more than 70 startups from different countries have already participated. At the beginning of September, the 13th cohort started with another six urbantech startups dedicated to developing solutions for climate protection.

Oxford. BMW Group has announced today a new investment of more than £600 million in the MINI factories at Oxford and Swindon. “With this new investment we will develop the Oxford plant for production of the new generation of electric MINIs and set the path for purely electric car manufacturing in the future,” says Milan Nedeljković, Member of the Board of Management of BMW AG responsible for production.

The Oxford plant is gearing-up to build two new all-electric MINI models from 2026, the MINI Cooper 3-door and the compact crossover MINI Aceman. By 2030 production volume will be exclusively electric and the BMW Group will have spent over £3bn on its Swindon, Hams Hall and Oxford plants since 2000.
This development has been supported by the UK Government and will help to secure jobs at the Oxford manufacturing plant and at the body-pressing facility in Swindon.

Business and Trade Secretary Kemi Badenoch says, “This decision is a big vote of confidence in the UK economy and the work of this Government to ensure the continued strength of our world-leading automotive sector. We are proud to be able to support BMW Group’s investment, which will secure high-quality jobs, strengthen our supply chains and boost Britain’s economic growth.”

Oxford to remain the Home of MINI.
The Oxford plant celebrated its 110th anniversary this year and has been successfully producing the current MINI Electric since 2019, where it is fully integrated into the production line with the conventional (ICE) models.

Stefanie Wurst, Head of the MINI brand, says, “MINI has always been aware of its history – Oxford is and remains the heart of the brand. I am delighted that the two new, fully electric MINI models – the MINI Cooper and MINI Aceman – are also being produced in Oxford, thereby confirming our path to a fully electric future. The continuing high demand for our locally emission-free vehicles shows the openness of the global MINI community to electromobility, which we will be able to serve optimally, also thanks to Oxford”.

MINI accelerates toward full electrification with new model line-up and enhanced production network.
The MINI Plant Oxford currently produces the MINI 3-door, the MINI 5-door as well as the MINI Clubman and the MINI Electric. From 2024 the plant will start producing the next generation MINI 3-door and MINI 5-door with combustion engines, as well as the new MINI Convertible, before they are joined by the new all-electric vehicles in 2026 – the MINI Cooper 3-door and the MINI Aceman.

The factory will reach a production capacity of around 200,000 cars per year in the medium term, with ICE and battery electric vehicles initially being built on the same production line. From 2030, the Oxford Plant will produce all-electric MINI models exclusively.

In a few weeks, production of the new MINI Countryman will begin at the BMW Group plant Leipzig. This larger crossover model in the MINI line-up, will be offered with both pure electric drive and combustion engines.

Production of the next generation all-electric MINI Cooper 3-door and MINI Aceman will begin in China. The new manufacturing plant in Zhangjiagang, Jiangsu Province is based on a joint venture with Great Wall Motor. Exports will begin in early 2024.

Površine popolnoma električnih MINI Cooperja in MINI Countrymana so zaradi integrativne obdelave detajlov videti še posebej vznemirljive. Kljuke, poravnane s površino vrat, odsotnost obrob blatnikov in bočni pokrovi poudarjajo jasen in sodoben splošni vtis. Značaj vozila, ki je tako agilen kot kompakten, je okrepljen z novimi elementi dnevnih luči za žaromete LED in zadnje luči Matrix LED s tremi različnimi nastavitvami pri vseh novih modelih vozil. Popolnoma električni MINI Cooper: na novo zasnovan original. V svoji peti generaciji MINI Cooper s 3 vrati še vedno uteleša bistvo znamke. Kot povsem električno vozilo je novi MINI na voljo v različici Cooper E in kot Cooper SE, ki se ponaša z večjo močjo in dosegom. V novi družini MINI se »Cooper« nanaša na vse modele MINI s 3 in 5 vrati ter tudi na MINI Convertible. Ne uporablja se več kot specifikacija motorja.  Klasični okrogli žarometi in osupljiva osmerokotna sprednja maska so prevladujoči elementi sprednjega dela, ki modelu dajejo značilen MINI-jev obraz.

Svojevrstno strukturiran pokrov motorja prispeva k zanimivemu oblikovanju površine. Črni bočni elementi povsem električni MINI Cooper vizualno približajo cesti. Štiri različne ravni opreme – Essential, Classic, Favoured in JCW – služijo diferenciaciji, vsaka pa daje novemu MINI-ju svoj posebni značaj.

Električni motor s 135 kW/184 KM pri MINI Cooperju E ustvari navor 290 Nm in pospeši vozilo z mesta do 100 km/h v 7,3 sekunde. Z močjo 160 kW/218 KM MINI Cooper SE pospeši od 0 do 100 km/h v 6,7 sekunde z maksimalnim navorom 330 Nm. Domet, določen v testnem ciklu WLTP, je 305 kilometrov za MINI Cooper E in 402 kilometra za MINI Cooper SE. *

Notranjost: minimalistična, digitalna, topla & takšna, da se boste kar potopili vanjo.
V notranjosti se zasnova sprednjega dela vrača k elegantno minimalističnemu dizajnu klasičnega Minija s tanko in bogato armaturno ploščo ter multifunkcijskim volanom za klasični MINI gokart občutek. Osrednji OLED zaslon, MINI Interaction Unit, s svojo visoko ločljivostjo postavlja nov standard in prispeva k večji prisotnosti okroglega zaslona s premerom 240 milimetrov.

Novega MINI-jevega pametnega osebnega pomočnika lahko aktivirate tako, da izgovorite besede »Hey MINI«. Možnost upravljanja številnih funkcij z glasom povečuje udobje in omogoča večjo koncentracijo pri vožnji. Na novo oblikovana zmanjšana preklopna vrstica s petimi stikali vključuje vse vozne funkcije in je za voznika idealno nameščena pod okroglim zaslonom. Prestavna ročica je bila odpravljena, da se je ustvaril dodaten prostor za shranjevanje med sprednjima sedežema. V območju za brezžično polnjenje znotraj tega prostora za shranjevanje je mogoče polniti mobilne naprave in jih vselej imeti udobno na dosegu 

Novo izkušnjo notranjosti ustvarjajo predvsem tekstilne površine. Za vsestransko strukturo dvobarvnega tekstila, ki je enostaven za vzdrževanje, je bil uporabljen posebej razvit postopek pletenja. Do sedem izbirnih načinov MINI Experience Modes oživi armaturno ploščo. Posebne svetlobne projekcije razširijo barve okroglega zaslona po armaturni plošči in s tem celotno izkušnjo vmesnika med uporabnikom in avtom v notranjosti. Nove možnosti prilagajanja kabine dodajajo notranjosti novega MINI Cooperja osebni element dobrega počutja.

Novi MINI Countryman: popolnoma električen in pustolovski.
Višji, daljši, MINI – z dodatnimi šestimi centimetri višine in trinajstimi centimetri dolžine je novi MINI Countryman opazno zrasel v primerjavi s svojim predhodnikom ter ponuja še več prostora in udobja. Širši blatniki in jasen, sodoben dizajn tega križanca povečujeta estetsko privlačnost robustnega MINI pustolovca. Elegantna zasnova C-stebrička se razlikuje glede na raven opreme vozila in temelji na eni od štirih barv strehe vozila. Pokončna oblika novih zadnjih luči Matrix uokvirja zadnji del vozila. Pod napisom imena modela se telo zoži po vsej širini in skupaj z vpadljivim črnim pasom, ki poteka okrog celotnega vozila, poudarja okrepljeno navzočnost novega MINI Countrymana.

Električni motor s 150 kW/204 KM pri MINI Cooperju E ustvari navor 250 Nm in pospeši vozilo z mesta do 100 km/h v 8,6 sekunde. Z 230 kW/313 KM električni motorji MINI Countrymana SE ALL4 s štirikolesnim pogonom ustvarijo skupni navor 494 Nm in pospešijo vozilo od 0 do 100 km/h v 5,6 sekunde. Domet, določen v testnem ciklu WLTP, je 462 kilometrov za MINI Cooper E in 433 kilometrov za MINI Cooper SE ALL4.*

V notranjosti je vsestranski novi MINI Countryman največji in najprostornejši model MINI, ki je na voljo, zahvaljujoč se visoki stopnji prilagodljivosti. Jasno oblikovana armaturna plošča in vratne obloge so prekrite s tkanimi tekstilnimi površinami. The exterior: maximum reduction to the essentials.
In the new model generation once again, the MINI 3-door embodies the core of the brand. With its fully electric drivetrain, the new MINI Cooper is consistently geared towards urban driving fun, transporting the character of the iconic model into the brand’s purely electric future.

The agile and compact silhouette features hallmark MINI proportions:
short overhangs, a short bonnet and the contrasting long wheelbase with large wheels give the fifth model generation of the MINI Cooper a fascinating charisma with classic design features. At the same time, this emphasises the athletic impression and underlines the model’s contemporary urban orientation.

Details such as the flush door handles and the absence of fender flares and classic side scuttles support the modern design of the exterior by giving the surfaces a striking clarity. This reduction to the essentials places even more emphasis on the body paint finish on the larger body surface. In this way, typical MINI design features such as the visual three-part division of the vehicle body, the all-round window area and the contrasting roof have a greater impact, helping the new design style to take effect.

Striking face with fresh radiance: MINI LED-lights with Signature Modes.
In the new model generation, the front end of the all-electric MINI Cooper is once again characterised by the iconic MINI circular headlights and the striking grille. These go together to create the hallmark MINI appearance.
The new octagonal front grille with its filigree contour defines the front section even more powerfully than its hexagonal predecessor. Instead of chrome, the new accent colour Vibrant Silver adds highlights to the exterior, giving the new MINI Cooper an even more expressive appearance.

The daytime running light elements of theLED-lights support this striking look with fresh radiance due to unique light signatures. Horizontal light graphics are part of the Essential Trim. Optionally, the daytime running light elements can be switched to create three adjustable light signatures, thereby emphasising the distinctive character of each vehicle. In addition, all light modes start and end with a specially orchestrated welcome and goodbye animation. This interaction with the MINI Cooper heightens the sense of anticipation for the MINI even before you set off.

Reduced details for a powerful presence and increased dynamic performance.
As with the body design as a whole, the front headlights are not framed with chrome elements anymore. This results in the front section having a focused expression. Together with the fascinating curves of the bonnet and the clear-cut design of the front apron, the new MINI 3-door has a distinct and sporty look. This impression is supported by the vehicle’s track width and the dynamic indentation at the wheel arches.

The side view of the new MINI Cooper also conveys greater reduction and clarity. For the first time, the model appears without a circumferential Black Band. Reducing the number of components places the body colour more at the centre of interest, thereby ensuring a powerful presence. Black sills visually move the MINI Cooper closer to the road. The vehicle combines a modern take on the hallmark MINI design with outstanding aerodynamic properties. The cd figure of 0.28 is outstanding for the small car segment and makes the
MINI extremely efficient.

The new MINI aesthetic also gives the rear section a new, contemporary feel, featuring clear surfaces and flush rear lights. The vertical light clusters quote the classic MINI lights and can be switched to different modes in the same way as the front headlights. The third brake light and rear fog light are integrated flush into the rear design, emphasising the high quality of the sculptured modern rear section. A defined shoulder section gives the MINI Cooper a particularly powerful look. A striking black handle strip divides the rear section, its horizontal orientation highlighting the vehicle’s broad stance and the sporty flair that this conveys.

Four individual trims for even more character.
The all-electric MINI Cooper is available in four different trims. The Essential Trim presents maximum clarity and a reduced overall appearance, highlighting certain functional parts such as the logo in the new colour Vibrant Silver. The new range of external paint finishes underlines the modernity of the new MINI icon and sets positive accentuations with bright tones such as Sunny Side Yellow.

While the Classic Trim primarily applies to the interior, the Favoured Trim features particularly expressive details on the exterior. This trim variant offers the new, optional Spray-Tech design of the characteristic Multitone Roof with a combination of three different colours as well as a front grille in Vibrant Silver.

The John Cooper Works Trim lends maximum emphasis to the sporty flair of the all-electric MINI Cooper with a distinctive front and rear design. The frame of the front grille and the logo in high-gloss black underline the powerful overall look, while a contrasting roof in Chili Red – inspired by motor sport – and JCW-specific bonnet stripes in red or black optionally lend visual emphasis to the driving dynamics typical of MINI.

The interior: minimalist, digital, immersive & warm.
On the inside, the design of the front area echoes the famous minimalist design of the classic Mini. For the first model in 1959, Mini inventor Alec Issigonis designed an interior with a round instrument cluster in the centre and the characteristic toggle bar below. In the new MINI Cooper, it is precisely these two elements, in combination with the steering wheel, that structure the interior with its maximum purist design. Reducing everything to the essentials, the new interior makes do with a smaller number of components that are cleverly designed and implemented to a high standard. Behind the steering wheel, the optional head-up display ensures that all the relevant content appears in the driver’s field of vision. As a result, the dashboard on the driver’s side does not require an additional display, so it opens up the view to the front.

The amply sized, curved dashboard features textile surfaces for the first time. Warm, pleasant materials characterise the new, homely feel-good atmosphere in the interior of the MINI Cooper. A specially developed knitting process is used to create the versatile, easy-care structure of the textile in two-colour design made of recycled polyester. There is a choice of different colours for the textile surfaces and seats depending on the trim design. To make the dashboard as slim and spacious as possible, the air vents are very flat.

The clear lines and generous space in the front seats give the interior a modern, airy feel, while the optional panoramic glass roof makes the interior particularly bright and friendly. In the dark, the side lighting is based on the ambient light, thereby contributing to a distinctive interior atmosphere. The seats are available in a basic version and in a JCW version, with side panels that are laminated with high-quality textile covering the adjustment buttons. The armrest, mounted on the driver’s seat, provides even more space in the centre console. The rear of the vehicle offers maximum reduction and comfort, while the loading accessories can be conveniently stowed in an additional underfloor storage facility in the luggage compartment. By folding down the rear seat in a 60:40 ratio, the luggage compartment can be flexibly expanded from 200 litres to provide a volume of up to 800 litres.

MINI Interaction Unit: High-Res OLED display revolutionises the user experience.
The central OLED display sets a new benchmark with its high resolution. Like the round instrument in the predecessor model, the new centre icon is the defining feature of the interior with its versatile functions. As an instrument cluster, the MINI Interaction Unit is a centre of both experience and comfort. Thanks to MINI Operating System 9, all vehicle functions can be operated intuitively with touch or voice control. The display in the redesigned cockpit has been moved closer to the driver so it is particularly convenient to reach. The diameter of the thin touch display with a high-quality glass edge has grown to 240 mm. Its operating logic is reminiscent of the standards familiar from smartphones.

The graphic presentation of the content is modern and focuses on the essentials. The upper area contains relevant vehicle-related information such as speed and battery status. When the speed indicator is pressed, a large, striking display with full-screen speedometer appears that puts a clear focus on driving. In the Home menu, the other widgets are displayed in thumbnail view to the left and right of the current menu function. They can be brought up and selected by swiping horizontally to the centre. In the lower area of the OLED display, the menu items Navigation, Media, Phone and Climate can be selected directly at any time. All other functions can be accessed via the menu in the same way as on a smartphone. The display returns to the default setting via the home button.

A whole new MINI experience: the new MINI Experience Modes.
The MINI Experience Modes, Core, Green and Go-Kart, each with their specific user interface design, are available as standard, with up to four additional modes available with the MINI Experience Modes optional equipment. The optional MINI projector on the back of the OLED display immerses the dashboard in matching colour schemes and patterns. The interplay of projection, ambient lighting and the MINI Interaction Unit results in a unique, immersive experience that extends into the door panels.

This immersive user experience makes the interior even more expressive based on new solutions, thereby giving rise to entirely new individualisation options in the new MINI Cooper. In Personal Mode, for example, an individually selected image can be set as the display background via the MINI App. The dominant colours of the image then extend across the textile dashboard surfaces by means of a digital colour picker. The ambient lighting under the dashboard and in the door mirror is also colour-coded to match these projections.

Each mode has specially designed backgrounds that convey a vibrant and high-quality effect by means of subtle movements while remaining as distraction-free as possible. When one of the seven modes is selected, the display focuses on a relevant “Mode App”. In Go-Kart Mode there is a highly dynamic focus on MINI’s racing DNA, for example. The display and the interior as a whole feature the colours anthracite and red, while specific analogue displays for driving dynamics complement this MINI Experience Mode inspired by John Cooper Works. Vivid Mode draws on the colours of the album cover for the ambient lighting. Core Mode, Green Mode, Timeless Mode, Balance Mode and Personal Mode are also available for selection according to mood and personal needs.

Simply typical MINI: the redesigned toggle bar.
Underneath the dashboard, the design of the new MINI Cooper is particularly clean in appearance. One of the key factors here is the newly designed toggle bar. Here, the most important driving functions (parking brake, gear selector, start/stop key, experience mode toggle, volume control) are directly accessible. Its design is individua in accordance with its function.

The direct selection options on the toggle bar eliminate the need for a gearshift, so the new MINI Cooper offers more storage space in the centre console. In addition to the enlarged cup holders, there is also a large open storage compartment. The storage box with a knitted surface and a textile strap comes as standard with the Favoured Trim. Smartphones can be charged in the wireless charging area at the front of the console and are easier to find thanks to the central storage area.

Four newly designed trims for an individual look.
In line with the consistent reduction in the interior, the new contemporary colour and material concept is deliberately minimalist, too. Only newly developed, high-quality and environment-friendly materials are used. The dashboard and door panels with knitted surfaces made of recycled polyester create a pleasant atmosphere while at the same time setting specific accentuations with their two-tone design. Four newly designed trims convey differing versions of the modern feel-good concept in the interior. From Classic Trim onwards, the two-spoke basic steering wheel is replaced as a three-spoke version with a new textile strap in the six o'clock spoke.

The Essential Trim features an interior of maximum clarity and reduction. Black sports seats with distinctly patterned multitone textile harmonise with a coloured textile band on the dashboard. Certain functional parts on the inside and outside are highlighted with the new accent colour Vibrant Silver. On the exterior, for example, the logo appears in the new colour, contrasting sharply with the black, octagonal front grille.

In the Classic Trim, MINI uses a modern 2D knitted textile in the interior of a production vehicle for the first time. On the dashboard and door handles, two-tone black knitted textile provides a fascinating contrast to the high-quality synthetic leather seat. It is available in grey and black featuring a perforated houndstooth pattern, while the side contrasts in blue textile.

The modern, high-quality Favoured Trim is the most expressive option, featuring a two-tone houndstooth pattern on the knitted-textile instrument panel. Available in two colours and with traditional accent stitching, the perforated Vescin sports seats complement this extravagant interior in dark and light. The exterior with the front grille in Vibrant Silver can be combined in a particularly apt way with the all-new Spray-Tech roof which features a blending of three different colours.

The JCW Trim offers the sportiest interpretation of the new material concept. Combined with multi-coloured knitted textile and black synthetic leather with red stitching, the JCW seat with sports seat geometry echoes the colour concept of the dashboard and door trim. A distinct front and rear design likewise highlights the racing DNA of the trim in the exterior, with the vehicle grille and logo in high-gloss black underlining the powerful overall impression. Optional features include a contrasting Chili Red roof and JCW-specific red or black bonnet stripes.

“Hey MINI!”: the first MINI Intelligent Personal Assistant.
In the new MINI Cooper, numerous functions can be controlled using the brand’s first ever fully-fledged voice assistant. The MINI Intelligent Personal Assistant can be activated with the greeting “Hey MINI” or by using the push-to-talk steering wheel button. Voice-controlled interaction takes place on the round OLED display in the form of an animation of graphic elements, typography and an avatar. For the visualisation, users have the option to choose between “MINI” – a stylised representation of a MINI – or optionally "Spike" already familiar to many MINI fans. Communication with this virtual travel companion is particularly true-to-life thanks to improved voice recognition. In order to ensure smoother communication, oral utterances are transmitted instantly and visualised on the display. In this way, the driver can control navigation, telephony, entertainment and numerous other vehicle functions by acclamation.

During the dialogue between customer and vehicle, the MINI Intelligent Personal Assistant continuously learns on repetitive routes. Drawing on geo-based data, for example, the vehicle can learn to automatically open the window when entering a car park. This makes day-to-day routines more convenient and personal.

MINI connects: the new MINI Operating System 9.
The new “Charismatic Simplicity” design language is also reflected in the aesthetic of the user interface, which brings together functional and emotional elements. The reduced design uses all-new graphics to create an extremely modern look. Static and dynamic elements blend naturally into the circular form of the OLED display, following a clear structure. Micro-animations enhance the already extremely intuitive interaction between the driver and central instrument and underscore the digital character of the new MINI family.

MINI Operating System 9 is an in-house development by the BMW Group and is based on an Android Open Source Project (AOSP) software stack. Operation is intuitive and follows the standards familiar from consumer electronics.

At the centre of the screen is the start menu, where personalised content can be selected and launched by swiping to the side. In the lower section of the screen is the fixed status bar containing the menu items “Navigation”, “Media”, “Telephony”, “All Apps” and, depending on the situation, “Home”, which can be selected directly. Swiping up from the lower edge of the screen reveals a tool belt, a process customers will be familiar with from many consumer electronics devices. Favourite functions can be stored here and called up again rapidly, i. e. navigation destinations and radio stations. The tool belt can also be activated via the star button on the multifunction steering wheel. The upper screen area is reserved for driving-relevant content such as the vehicle speed and important information on the vehicle status. The optional Head-up display shows the most important information for the driver in their field of view.

The temperature for the driver and front passenger is permanently displayed on the left- and right-hand edge of the screen. The climate control settings are integrated into the MINI Interaction Unit and can always be adjusted on the top layer by touch or voice command.

Depending on the Experience Mode selected, a single tap on the speed display transforms the entire MINI Interaction Unit into a MINI-typical speedometer.

“The new MINI Operating System 9 is characterised by simple, emotional touch operation that is specific to MINI. Together with the new cloud-based MINI Navigation for particularly precise and fast route calculation, high-speed connectivity and optional 5G capability, the new MINI Cooper takes a giant leap into the digital world, thereby underlining the brand’s charismatic heritage,” says Stefanie Wurst, Head of MINI.

When driving, the complete MINI Navigation Package in conjunction with the optional MINI Connected Package provides support in the form of realistic 3D visualisations in complicated turning situations, display of the current traffic situation even without activated route guidance, information on parking options including digital payment options and much more. In addition, an optional augmented reality function is available for the visualisation of turn-by-turn directions. A charge-optimised route can be calculated for the all-electric MINI Cooper immediately after entering the destination.

In addition, MINI Connected Upgrades allow flexible bookings of additional vehicle functions – simply digital. In conjunction with the optionally available MINI Connected Package, the MINI Connected Store provides access to a constantly evolving variety of practical and entertaining apps, including gaming, music and video streaming. The new AirConsole app provides a unique form of in-car gaming for all passengers, making the smartphone the controller of the game on the OLED display.

New driver assistance systems make day-to-day life easier.
In addition to the automatic parking functions offered by the Parking Assistant, the new optional Parking Assistant Plus makes the parking process even easier. Thanks to 12 ultrasonic sensors and four surround-view cameras, the vehicle can identify possible parking spaces more clearly and can even independently initiate space-restricted parking manoeuvres. In addition, a manual parking process can be transferred to Parking Assistant Plus at any time. Explore Mode offers a uniquely convenient solution for this vehicle segment, enabling the new MINI Cooper to be parked simply using a smartphone if the space at the side is too limited for entry.

The innovative MINI Digital Key Plus option also uses the smartphone to ensure a convenient and personalised vehicle experience. Here the smartphone turns into a key, enabling automatic opening of the vehicle. The welcome projection of the front and rear lights begins as soon as the driver is within three metres of the car; the doors are unlocked when the driver is less than one and a half metres. The digital key can be transferred to different users and replaces the handover of the classic vehicle key for easier car sharing.

The MINI App also offers other functions that increase user safety. With the Remote 360 option, for example, the surroundings of the parked vehicle can be viewed in the MINI App. A camera in the inside provides a view of the interior. Furthermore, the Snapshot function offers the opportunity to capture shared moments in a photograph and to upload them via WiFi-Direct to the smartphone.

Enhanced go-kart feeling thanks to electrified drivetrain technology.
The new MINI Cooper combines locally emission-free mobility and all-electric driving fun. With a completely new powertrain, the vehicle is available in the Cooper E variant, and with a higher output and range also as the Cooper SE.

The 135 kW/184 hp electric motor of the MINI Cooper E generates a torque of 290 Nm, accelerating the vehicle from standstill to 100 km/h in 7.3 seconds. With an output of 160 kW/218 hp, the MINI Cooper SE sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.7 seconds with a maximum torque of 330 Nm. The range determined according to the WLTP test cycle is up to 305 kilometres for the MINI Cooper E based on the high-voltage battery with 40.7 kWh of capacity. In the MINI Cooper SE, the calculated range increases to a maximum of 402 kilometres due to a battery capacity of 54.2 kWh. *

Excellent driving dynamics for comfortable and sporty mobility.
A slightly increased track width and wheelbase provide the basis for excellent driving dynamics. The vehicle is fitted with a suspension and damping system that is tuned for spirited handling. Combined with the precise steering feel typical of MINI, powerful brakes and a low centre of gravity thanks to the high-voltage battery installed in the floor, the new MINI Cooper enhances day-to-day convenience.

With highly preloaded stabiliser mounts on the axles, the driver experiences a significantly improved body response during dynamic cornering as well as a valuable gain in steering precision and accuracy. The result is excellent body support combined with smooth rolling comfort. The MINI Cooper is also equipped with a strut brace for an even sportier driving experience.

With its tyre diameter increased to 635 mm, the MINI Cooper has a more powerful visual presence, while at the same time offering improved driving dynamic performance and comfort. In addition, the tyre width of the optionally available 17-inch and 18-inch rims is increased by 10/20 mm to 205/225 mm to emphasise the typical MINI go-kart feeling. Available rim sizes range from 16- to 18-inch.

The precise set-up of steering and all driving stability control systems, to ensure both comfortable and sporty driving, guarantees an exceptional experience in all driving situations.

New MINI Experience Modes for individually tailored driving fun.
The various MINI Experience Modes can be activated with a flick of the toggle switch “Experiences”. GO-KART mode emphasises the racing DNA of the MINI Cooper in a particularly emotional way by adjusting the agility and stability of the chassis set-up, for example. In this mode, the projector behind the central OLED display also bathes the cockpit in the John Cooper Works-inspired shades of anthracite and red. Meanwhile, further individual setting options enable configuration of the steering response and the intervention limits of the traction control to ensure even more intense driving fun.

By contrast, Green Mode optimises the efficiency of the drivetrain, orienting the electric motor towards maximum range based on various parameters. Improved recuperation management in the new MINI Cooper is one of the contributing factors here: this feeds excess energy to the battery when braking or coasting, thereby increasing the vehicle’s range. Visualisations enable the driving conditions and their influence on the vehicle’s range to be more readily understood. The driving conditions and their influence on the range can be more easily understood through visualizations. Tips for efficient driving and a power meter increase the motivation for economical driving in a fun way. For example, the driver can specifically understand the effect of their behaviour through gaining “bonus range”.

These immersive driving experiences are enhanced by completely new acoustic worlds created by the digital MINI Sounds. The repertoire includes entirely new driving sounds in the interior, an unmistakable MINI brand sound as a mark of identification, jingles for the new MINI Experience Modes, and 30 new sound signals for information and warning functions. This creates a distinctive recognition feature that is typical of MINI on the acoustic level, too.

Simplified and efficient battery charging.
The battery of the MINI Cooper can be charged via alternating current with 11 kW. Fast charging with direct current is possible in the MINI Cooper E with 75 kW and in the Cooper SE with up to 95 kW. At a fast charging station, this allows the battery to be charged from 10 per cent to 80 per cent in just under 30 minutes. Depending on the weather conditions, active navigation via MINI Navigation ensures the high-voltage battery reaches the ideal temperature for efficient charging in advance. This can significantly reduce charging time, especially in cold outdoor temperatures.

For a transparent and simple charging process, the customer can optimize the charging of the vehicle battery through easy-to-understand settings. The start time for charging can be selected or a specific time window for charging can be set, for example. A certain target level for battery capacity can be determined in advance, too. For a particularly pleasant start, charging can be set to be completed by a selected departure time, and the vehicle interior can be air-conditioned to the desired temperature by this time.

The MINI App provides a convenient overview of the charging process, even if the customer is not near the vehicle. This provides details of the current battery status, a charging-optimised route plan, and charging history – including all costs and savings.

Munich. Exactly 64 years ago, on August 26, 1959, the first classic Mini was presented. Plenty of interior space with the smallest possible external dimensions, room for four occupants, impeccable driving characteristics, low fuel consumption and an affordable price - these were the specifications followed by the creator of the Mini, designer Sir Alec Issigonis.

Since the brand's relaunch with the market introduction of the New MINI in 2001, the principle that was valid 64 years ago has been confirmed: A superior concept convinces in many ways. This is still true today for the MINI 3-door, MINI 5-door and MINI Convertible small cars, for the MINI Clubman and the MINI Countryman in the premium compact segment. They all display individual strengths and each has its own unique character, but at their core they are above all one thing: a MINI.

In 2008, for the first time at MINI, the motto is: Full driving pleasure, zero emissions. With the MINI E, the BMW Group set a milestone on the road to mobility independent of fossil fuels. A total of more than 500 units of the all-electric MINI were handed over to selected customers in a pilot test.

Since 2017, the MINI Cooper SE Countryman ALL4 (fuel consumption combined: 2.0 - 1.7 l/100 km; electricity consumption combined: 14.0 - 13.1 kWh/100 km; CO2 emissions combined: 45 - 40 g/km) has been the first MINI model in which a plug-in hybrid drive system opens up the possibility of purely electric and thus locally emission-free mobility and delights with sporty agility and superior versatility. The plug-in hybrid system of the robust all-rounder consists of a three-cylinder gasoline engine with MINI TwinPower Turbo technology, which directs its power to the front wheels, and an electric drive acting on the rear wheels. Together they generate a system output of 162 kW/220 hp.

With the MINI Cooper SE (power consumption combined: 17.6 - 15.4 kWh/100 km according to WLTP; CO2 emissions combined: 0 g/km), which will be launched in 2019, MINI is once again providing groundbreaking impetus for urban mobility. The spontaneous power delivery of the 135 kW/184 hp electric motor, the model-specific chassis tuning and the low center of gravity of the vehicle help the MINI Cooper SE achieve the agility typical of the brand. The lithium-ion high-voltage battery positioned low in the vehicle floor enables a range of 203 to 234 kilometers determined in the WLTP test cycle.

The MINI Cooper SE Convertible (power consumption combined: 17.2 kWh/100 km according to WLTP; CO2 emissions combined: 0 g/km) is the world's first locally emission-free premium convertible in the small car segment. The electric drive system accelerates the MINI Cooper SE Convertible smoothly from standstill to 100 km/h in 7.3 seconds. With a range of 201 kilometers determined in the WLTP test cycle, open-air excursions are possible well beyond city limits. It shortens the transition to the all-electric, digital and distinctive next-generation model family.

MINI is consistently pursuing the path to an all-electric model range. The first two members of the new MINI family will be unveiled at the IAA (International Motor Show) in Munich (September 5-10, 2023). And so, on its 64th anniversary, MINI is gifting itself with a bright future.

Munich/Cologne. Shortly before the official launch of the new MINI family at the IAA MOBILITY 2023, MINI is offering an exclusive look at the central control unit - the MINI Interaction Unit. The round OLED display was developed together with Samsung Display Corporation and represents a first in the automotive industry. For the staging at gamescom, MINI chooses one of the most iconic settings in pop culture as a reference: the high-tech lab. At the center of the MINI Lab is a gigantic incubator tank reminiscent of great science fiction, gaming and anime classics.

MINI is the main sponsor of the gamescom merchandise area for the 2nd time and sponsors the Cosplay Awards at the world's biggest games event. From August 23 to 27, 2023, gamescom will gather hundreds of thousands of gaming fans from all over the world in an exhibition area of around 230,000 square meters at Koelnmesse.

Focusing on Technology.
Science fiction provides the appropriate context for staging the future and technology. MINI is taking a complementary approach to the playful impact last year when the brand presented the MINI Concept Aceman with Pokémon Mode.

MINI stands for individuality. The MINI Interaction Unit shows different designs and content depending on the selected Experience Mode. The new Personal Mode in particular reinforces the consistent expression of individuality. In this mode, a picture from the smartphone gallery can be set as the background of the center display via the MINI app, thus personalizing the entire cockpit ambience. Visitors to gamescom can discover the various modes at the trade fair stand.

Goodwood. MINI also gave a preview of the future MINI family with the premiere of the all-electric MINI Concept Aceman. The limited-edition MINI Cooper SE Convertible with electrified open-air driving fun also delighted visitors. At the Goodwood Festival of Speed 2023, which has just ended, MINI was able to thrill the numerous festival visitors with several premieres. Last weekend, the legendary motorsport festival took place in the picturesque parkland around Goodwood House in West Sussex for the thirtieth time. MINI celebrated the summer party of automotive culture together with a diverse field of participants. With the MINI JCW 1to6 Edition, the MINI Concept Aceman and the strictly limited MINI Cooper SE Convertible, the brand presented its diverse product portfolio on site.

MINI inspires at the legendary Hillclimb.
The Goodwood Festival of Speed is known for its proximity to the public and the legendary racing section past Goodwood House. Rarely do automotive enthusiasts have the opportunity to get so close to the vehicles and drivers that made them famous. At the center of the action is the legendary Hillclimb. Following its podium finish at the 24-hour race at the Nürburgring, the MINI John Cooper Works 1to6 Edition celebrated its British motorsport debut on the hillclimb this weekend. "The manual 6-speed transmission is not only the inspiration for the name of this special edition, but also makes it a unique high-performance model. Limited to 999 units, the edition celebrates the brand's roots in motorsport as well as our typical go-kart feeling and maximizes the brand-typical driving fun," explains Stefanie Wurst, Head of MINI.

Driver of the edition car was none other than Charlie Cooper, the grandson of legendary racing car engineer John Cooper. Every year, the inconspicuous section of track up to the top of Goodwood Hill is regarded as a demanding yardstick for the participating manufacturers in terms of the performance of their vehicles and drivers.

A glimpse of the future.
The MINI Concept Aceman, a concept car that provides a glimpse of the future MINI family, also made its debut in the UK and demonstrated the dynamics of all-electric mobility from MINI. The concept car impressively demonstrated what the future holds for MINI in terms of design, interior and electric performance.

Limited MINI Cooper SE Convertible at Electric Avenue.
Away from the racetrack, visitors to Electric Avenue were able to experience the first, all-electric MINI Cooper SE Convertible. The festival section, which focused on electrified automobility, provided visitors with information across all brands regarding the advantages of electrically powered vehicles. Limited to just 150 units for the UK, the MINI Cooper SE Convertible has a range of 201 kilometers according to the WLTP test cycle. It is the world's first locally emission-free premium convertible in the small car segment and shortens the transition to the next-generation all-electric MINI model family.

After four eventful days, visitors and participants are already looking forward with anticipation to next year's automotive innovations at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.

Munich. The unusual design of the MINI roofs has always been a special feature of the British premium models, which customers have used to emphasise their own individual style. From the colourful 26-colour striped version of the MINI Paul Smith to the British Union Jack and the elegant colour gradient of the Multitone Roof, the roof has always been the perfect canvas for individual and expressive design throughout the history of MINI. The new MINI Multitone Edition celebrates the diverse MINI community and adds exclusive exterior and interior details to the expressive design. The colour variations of the new special edition allow MINI fans to express their own personality and be part of the progressive MINI journey.

With the Multitone Roof, the MINI Cooper SE (power consumption combined: 17.6 - 15.3 kWh/100 km according to WLTP, 16.9 - 14.9 kWh/100 km according to NEDC) pioneered this innovative form of roof design. The MINI Multitone Edition is available for the MINI 3 door and MINI 5 door in the premium small car segment as well as for the MINI Clubman, which is successful in the premium compact car segment.

The new colour gradient of the MINI Multitone Edition extends from the windscreen frame to the rear across the entire roof. From the light Aspen White in the front section of the roof, the colour scheme transitions elegantly to the more subdued grey shade of Melting Silver II, then changes to Jet Black in the rear section. The unique aesthetic appeal created by this colour gradient is complemented in the MINI Multitone Edition by an abstract, white rainbow on the roof, which is also featured throughout the design of the special edition. The high-contrast colour gradient on the roof is unique in the competitive environment. It emphasises the characteristic three-part MINI silhouette and becomes an expression of personal style. The special look is made possible by the innovative wet-on-wet painting process used by the British MINI plant in Oxford. With this Spray Tech paint finish, the three colour shades are applied directly one after the other. Due to changing environmental conditions, deviations in the colour pattern may occur, making each MINI Multitone Edition vehicle unique. 

The MINI Multitone Edition conveys a friendly, positive attitude to life and picks up on the many different "facets of life" in terms of colour. Both the MINI 3 door and the MINI 5 door are available with Sage Green paintwork, while the MINI Clubman is offered exclusively in Indian Summer Red finish. The graphic rainbow of the special edition stands for diversity as well as a positive attitude and is depicted as an abstract white logo on the two complementary colours red (Indian Summer) and green (Sage).

In this way, the central design feature of the MINI Multitone Edition features on the iconic side scuttles on the exterior as well as the C-pillar with a PU sticker. In addition, the wheels have exclusive wheel caps in a two-tone colour scheme. Depending on the vehicle model, 17-inch light alloy wheels in the Scissor Spoke 2-Tone design or 18-inch light alloy wheels in the Pulse Spoke 2-Tone or Multiray Spoke design complete the positive aura of the special edition.

The name-giving "Multitone" lettering, together with the rainbow on friendly complementary colours, characterises the design of the door sill trims and reappears as a badge on the driver's and front passenger's floor mats. The abstract rainbow sweeps across the dashboard and adorns the sun visors. The multifunctional sports leather steering wheel with Edition emblem on the lower spoke is a pleasure to hold, as is the customised key cap of the MINI Multitone Edition.

Svetli in neslepeči: prilagodljivi LED žarometi z matrično funkcijo za dolgo luč.

Spremenjena oblika značilnih okroglih žarometov daje značilnemu videzu sprednjega dela novih vozil MINI s 3 vrati, MINI s 5 vrati in MINI Cabrio še močnejšo izraznost. Pri standardnih halogenskih žarometih je novost razvidna z izrazitim poudarkom prek črnega vložka. Pri LED žarometih, ki so na voljo v okviru dodatne opreme, pa je zelo kakovostna tehnologija poudarjena s pomočjo popolnoma nove oblike virov svetlobe. LED moduli nove generacije za zasenčen in dolg snop žarometov nudijo izboljšano svetlost. LED dnevna luč in luč smernika se proizvajata prek obroča, ki oddaja celoten obris žarometa.

Prilagodljivi LED žarometi, ki so prav tako na voljo v dodatni ponudbi opreme, samodejno prilagajajo svojo svetlost razmeram na cesti. Pri vožnji skozi mesto ali v primeru omejene vidljivosti zaradi vremenskih razmer, se lahko doda luč za osvetlitev notranje strani ovinka, tako da se okrepi osvetlitev stranskega dela cestišča. Medtem pa večji doseg zasenčene luči zagotavlja optimalno osvetlitev cestišča pri vožnji po avtocesti.

Prilagodljivi LED žarometi sedaj vključujejo tudi funkcijo samodejnega selektivnega zasenčenja za dolgo luč. Inovativna matrična tehnologija za dolgo luč izboljša doseg vidljivosti, hkrati pa prepreči kakršenkoli slepeči učinek za druge udeležence v prometu. V ta namen je razdeljena na štiri vodoravno razporejene segmente, ki se aktivirajo in deaktivirajo neodvisno drug od drugega pri hitrostih vozila nad 70 km/h. Segmenti dolge luči se uravnavajo glede na razmere na cesti. Takoj ko sprednja kamera vozila MINI zazna nasproti ali spredaj vozeče vozilo, je prostor, ki ga to vozilo zavzema, osvetljen le s svetlostjo zasenčene luči. To se naredi z deaktiviranjem segmentov matrične dolge luči, ki so odgovorni za zadevni prostor. Preostale površine ceste so še naprej osvetljene s svetlostjo dolge luči.

V povezavi z LED žarometi in prilagodljivimi LED žarometi imata tudi zadnji luči novo obliko. Z jasnim sklicevanjem na britansko poreklo blagovne znamke, sta pokončni luči na zadku novih vozil MINI s 3 vrati, MINI s 5 vrati in MINI Cabrio sedaj v obliki Union Jack.

Izrazit motiv zastave je poustvarjen v strukturi funkcij luči. V enoti luči je smernik razporejen vodoravno, zavorna luč navpično, zadnja luč pa predstavlja diagonalne črte britanske zastave. Da bi se zagotovil posebej skladen učinek osvetlitve, vsi svetlobni viri, ki sestavljajo grafiko Union Jack, uporabljajo LED tehnologijo.

Nov logotip MINI: omejen na bistva.

Nov logotip MINI, ki je oblikovan jasno in avtentično, se pojavi na pokrovu motorja, vratih prtljažnika, volanu, osrednjem prikazovalniku in daljinskem upravljalniku vseh modelov vozil. Predstavlja ponovno razlago obstoječega logotipa in ima dvodimenzionalno "plosko oblikovanje". Kot tak, logotip MINI odraža novo identiteto blagovne znamke s poudarkom na bistvih - in sicer ključnih vrednotah, kot so užitek v vožnji, prepoznavna oblika, premijska kakovost in čustvena privlačnost.

Trije novi laki karoserije, premiera za dele zunanjosti Piano Black.

Paleta lakov karoserije za nova vozila MINI s 3 vrati, MINI s 5 vrati in MINI Cabrio vključuje tri novosti. Odslej so del programa tudi kovinski barvni odtenki Emerald Grey, Starlight Blue in Solaris Orange.

Še več, seznam dodatne opreme vključuje nadaljnje sredstvo prilagajanja zunanje oblike. Z možnostjo delov zunanjosti Piano Black so okvirji žarometov, enot zadnjih luči in maske hladilnika, namesto iz kroma, lakirani v črni barvi visokega sijaja.

Širok izbor sedežnih prevlek, notranjih oblog in možnosti Colour Lines daje pridih individualnega oblikovanja notranjosti novih vozil MINI s 3 vrati, MINI s 5 vrati in MINI Cabrio. Nova oprema za vozili MINI s 3 vrati in MINI s 5 vrati vključuje oblazinjenje v usnju Chester v barvi Malt Brown in možnost Colour Line, ki je sedaj prav tako na voljo v barvi Malt Brown.

Opcija oblikovanja notranjosti Piano Black iz MINI Yours je na voljo z osvetlitvijo. Poleg okrasnih oblog v območju vrat in sredinske konzole v barvi Piano Black, vključuje tudi osvetljeno okrasno letev za armaturno ploščo na sovoznikovi strani. Slednja je prav tako v barvi Piano Black, hkrati pa nosi eleganten motiv Union Jack. Program MINI Yours Customised pomika značilno individualizacijo blagovne znamke na povsem novo raven. Vključuje izdelke za nadgradnjo, katerih obliko lahko kupci zasnujejo sami, ti pa se nato natančno proizvedejo v skladu z individualnimi specifikacijami. Obseg opreme MINI Yours Customised vključuje bočne pokrove, okrasne obloge za notranjost na sovoznikovi strani, LED vstopne letve in LED projektorje na vratih.

Izdelki iz MINI Yours Customised se lahko izberejo, oblikujejo in naročijo prek posebej vzpostavljene spletne trgovine. Tukaj lahko kupci zbirajo med različnimi barvami, vzorci, površinskimi strukturami in ikonami ter prispevajo lastna besedila in s tem dodajo oblikovanju pridih osebnega sloga. Ta ustvarjalna interakcija med proizvajalcem in kupcem omogoča ljubiteljem znamke MINI, da spremenijo svoje vozilo v edinstven primerek, ki nosi pečat njihove osebnosti. Individualizirani izdelki se proizvajajo z uporabo inovativnih proizvodnih tehnik, kot so različne 3D tiskarske metode in lasersko graviranje.

Pogon: večji užitek v vožnji in učinkovitost, manjša masa.

Obsežna prenova motorjev za nova vozila MINI s 3 vrati, MINI s 5 vrati in MINI Cabrio koristi predvsem užitku v vožnji. Prav tako pa vodi k zmanjšanju porabe goriva in vrednosti CO2 kar za pet odstotkov, pa tudi k optimiziranju emisij, da lahko motorji izpolnjujejo bolj stroge emisijske standarde, ki bodo stopili v veljavo v prihodnosti. Nadaljnji razvoj je zajel vsa področja, vključno z osnovnim motorjem, tehnologijo MINI TwinPower Turbo, elektroniko motorja, oskrbo z oljem, kanali za dovod zraka, hladilnim sistemom in izpušnimi sistemi. Prav tako je bilo mogoče, da se je zmanjšala masa pogonskih enot. Prekrivala motorja so izdelana iz plastike, ojačene z ogljikovimi vlakni (CFRP), tako da so sedaj tudi ta lažja. Material za njihovo proizvodnjo so reciklati karbonskih vlaken, pridobljeni v okviru proizvodnje avtomobilov BMW i.

3-valjna bencinska motorja vozil MINI One First in MINI One črpata svojo moč iz 1,5-litrske delovne prostornine. S tem se poveča njun največji navor za 10 Nm, ki znaša 160 oziroma 190 Nm. Poleg tega vključujejo vsi bencinski motorji neposredno vbrizgavanje bencina z največjim tlakom, ki se je povečal z 200 na 350 barov, in lopatice turbopolnilnika, sestavljene iz zelo toplotno odpornega materiala. Neposredno vbrizgavanje goriva prek skupnega voda v dizelskih motorjih zagotavlja, da se gorivo dovaja v zgorevalne komore s še večjo natančnostjo. V ta namen je bil največji tlak vbrizgavanja v 3-valjnih motorjih vozil MINI One D in MINI Cooper D povečan na 2.200 barov, v 4-valjnem motorju vozila MINI Cooper SD pa na 2.500 barov. Še več, najmočnejši od treh dizelskih motorjev je zdaj opremljen z dvostopenjskim turbinskim polnjenjem.

Novo: 7-stopenjski menjalnik Steptronic z dvojno sklopko, 8-stopenjski menjalnik Steptronic.

Kot alternativa standardnemu 6-stopenjskemu ročnemu menjalniku, je 7-stopenjski menjalnik Steptronic z dvojno sklopko dodatno na voljo za modele MINI One, MINI Cooper, MINI Cooper S in MINI Cooper D. Nov tip menjalnika označuje zelo hitro prestavljanje, ki omogoča izredno športne manevre pospeševanja brez prekinitve navora. Upravlja se s pomočjo prenovljene elektronske prestavne ročice. 7-stopenjski športni menjalnik Steptronic z dvojno sklopko je na voljo tudi za vozilo MINI Cooper S. Ta vključuje prestavna vzvoda na volanu za posebej spontano ročno poseganje pri izbiri prestave.

Vozilo MINI Cooper SD je standardno opremljeno z 8-stopenjskim menjalnikom Steptronic. Ta 8-stopenjski avtomatski menjalnik je edinstven v segmentu majhnih avtomobilov in omogoča, da se moč najmočnejšega dizelskega motorja prenaša na sprednji kolesi na posebej športen in usklajen način. 8-stopenjski menjalnik Steptronic se prav tako upravlja s pomočjo elektronske prestavne ročice, medtem ko je 8-stopenjski športni menjalnik Steptronic s prestavnima vzvodoma na volanu na voljo kot dodatna oprema

Vsi menjalniki Steptronic, ki so na voljo za nova vozila MINI s 3 vrati, MINI s 5 vrati in MINI Cabrio omogočajo uporabo funkcije jadranja v MID in načinu GREEN, pa tudi funkcijo Auto Start/Stop nove generacije. Podatki navigacije in sprednje kamere se lahko sedaj vključijo v nadzor slednje. Če je vozilo ustrezno opremljeno, to omogoča razpoznavanje situacij, v katerih je bolje, da se motor ne izklopi: na primer, če se vozilo za kratek čas ustavi, preden zavije ali zapelje v krožišče ali če se je promet pred njim spet začel premikati.

Nov volan z multifunkcijskimi gumbi in radio s 6,5-palčnim barvnim zaslonom kot standardna oprema.

Na novo oblikovan volan s tremi kraki v vozilih MINI s 3 vrati, MINI s 5 vrati in MINI Cabrio sedaj vključuje multifunkcijske gumbe. Na levi nadzorni plošči je mogoče aktivirati napravo Speed Limit, da se nastavit največja hitrost, medtem ko so upravljalni gumbi za zvok in komunikacijo na desni strani. Usnjen športni volan, usnjen športni volan MINI Yours in usnjen volan John Cooper Works so na voljo kot dodatna oprema.

Standardna oprema vključuje tudi zvočni sistem s 6,5-palčnim barvnim zaslonom na osrednjem instrumentu in povezovanje mobilnega telefona prek vmesnika Bluetooth. Nadzorni prikazovalnik nudi funkcijo na dotik v kombinaciji z dodatno razpoložljivim radiem MINI Visual Boost in navigacijskim sistemom.

Inovativna dodatna oprema za nova vozila MINI s 3 vrati, MINI s 5 vrati in MINI Cabrio vključuje telefonijo z možnostjo brezžičnega polnjenja. Odlagalni predal, vgrajen v sredinskem naslonu za roko, omogoča brezžično polnjenje mobilnih telefonov, ki nudijo to zmožnost. Ta oprema vključuje tudi drugo vtičnico USB na sprednjem delu sredinske konzole.

Dodatno razpoložljiv paket MINI Excitement sedaj vključuje tudi projekcijo logotipa MINI na voznikovi strani. Ko se vozilo odpre in zapre, se novi logotip MINI projicira na tleh pred vrati iz svetlobnega vira v zunanjem ogledalu in ostane viden 20 sekund, ali trajno, če so vrata odprta.

MINI Connected: ponudba digitalnih storitev, ki je edinstvena v tem segmentu**.

Z novimi funkcijami MINI Connected** ponuja MINI raznoliko paleto digitalnih storitev na premijski ravni, ki je edinstvena v segmentu majhnih avtomobilov. Nove funkcije vključujejo Real Time Traffic Information** in samodejno posodobitev kartografskega materiala prek povezave mobilnega telefona, osebno storitev Concierge Service** in internetni portal MINI Online** v vozilu z novicami, vremensko napovedjo in pregledom cen goriva. Na voljo pa je tudi dodatna priprava za Apple CarPlay**.

Nove storitve so na voljo v treh paketih. Možnost Connected Media vključuje digitalno infrastrukturo za infozabavo, ki se lahko uporablja z radiem MINI Visual Boost, medtem ko Connected Navigation** spremeni navigacijski sistem MINI v inteligentno povezano informacijsko središče. Paket Connected Navigation Plus** vključuje vse funkcije MINI Connected XL**.

Osebni asistent mobilnost MINI Connected** sedaj omogoča voznikom novih vozil MINI s 3 vrati, MINI s 5 vrati in MINI Cabrio, da brezhibno vključijo svoje vozilo in načrtovanje mobilnosti v svojo vsakodnevno digitalno rutino. Medtem pa aplikacija MINI Connected** omogoča povezljivost z digitalnimi stičnimi točkami, kot je pametni telefon ali ura. Na primer, MINI Connected** lahko uporablja koledarske vnose in kontaktne podatke, vnesene v pametni telefon, za načrtovanje poti in določi idealen čas za odhod na podlagi prometnih podatkov v realnem času. Funkcija Send to Car** omogoča, da se načrtovane poti pošljejo v navigacijski sistem MINI, medtem ko Remote Services** vozniku ne omogočajo le prikaza položaja vozila, nivoja goriva in drugih podatkov o stanju vozila na njegovi digitalni napravi, ampak prav tako aktivirajo svetlobni signal, hupo, prezračevanje in funkcijo zaklepanja/odklepanja vrat.

Inteligentno omreževanje vozila MINI prek integrirane kartice SIM v vozilu: ta je sedaj v skladu s standardom mobilnih komunikacij 4G**. Prav tako omogoča uporabo MINI Teleservices** in sistema za klic v sili s samodejnim zaznavanjem lokacije vozila in resnosti nesreče.

Storitve, ki so sedaj na voljo v novih vozilih MINI s 3 vrati, MINI s 5 vrati in MINI Cabrio prvič vključujejo tudi MINI Find Mate. Ta je sestavljen iz tako imenovanih obeskov z brezžično funkcijo sledenja, ki jih je mogoče namestiti na pogosto uporabljene in potovalne predmete, kot so torbe, kovčki in nahrbtniki. Njihovega položaja ni mogoče prikazati samo na potovalnem računalniku, temveč tudi v aplikaciji MINI Connected** na pametnem telefonu. Na ta način MINI Find Mate učinkovito preprečuje izgubljanje ali pozabljanje osebnih stvari
