Rijswijk. Met de introductie van de nieuwe BMW iX2 Pure Edition wordt het aanbod van de volledig elektrische compacte SUV modellen van het merk BMW verder uitgebreid. In navolging van de BMW iX1 Pure Edition, is de BMW iX2 eDrive20 vanaf productie april 2026 ook leverbaar als aantrekkelijk geprijsde Pure Edition.

Prijsstelling per april 2026:

De BMW iX1 en de BMW iX2 zijn ook sinds hun modelupdate van afgelopen voorjaar uitgerust met nieuwe halfgeleidercomponenten van siliciumcarbide (SiC-omvormer) in de vermogenselektronica. Deze technologie zorgt voor een hogere efficiëntie, een lager verbruik volgens de gecombineerde WLTP-cyclus en een vergrote actieradius. Op basis van de WLTP-testcyclus bedraagt de maximale actieradius van zowel de BMW iX1 als de BMW iX2 516 kilometer.

Beschikbaarheid
De BMW iX2 Pure Edition is vanaf nu te configureren via de BMW Configurator op bmw.nl.

Regensburg. BMW Group Plant Regensburg has achieved another major milestone: As projected, the threshold of 100,000 fully-electric vehicles produced since the start of the year was reached today. The milestone vehicle, which came off the assembly line in Regensburg today, watched by Milan Nedeljković, member of the Board of Management of BMW AG responsible for Production, is a BMW iX1. The vehicle, finished in Blue Bay Lagoon metallic, will be shipped to overseas, to the island of La Réunion. The plant has produced this successful premium compact model for customers worldwide since November 2022.

Nedeljković: “We offer a very wide range of fully-electric vehicles across all key segments. Our German plants produce these vehicles for the global market, delivering a major contribution to the growth of e-mobility.”

Regensburg Plant Director Armin Ebner offers a correspondingly positive assessment of the year: “We are meeting customer needs with our BMW iX1 and BMW iX2 models. I am especially proud of our team at Plant Regensburg, who once again showed tremendous commitment and flexibility, despite volatile market conditions. We have achieved our projected growth target for production of fully-electric vehicles in Regensburg in 2024, as promised.

More than a third of the vehicles built at our plant this year were electrified – i.e. a plug-in hybrid or an all-electric model. In 2024, we will substantially exceed last year's figure of 238,301 BMW vehicles built in Regensburg –with annual production of well over 330,000 units in total.”

More than 1,400 BMW X1 and BMW X2 models are currently coming off the production line at BMW Group Plant Regensburg every workday. The core BMW X1 model will be produced with all drive train variants: as a combustion-engine vehicle and plug-in hybrid, alongside the fully-electric BMW iX1.

“Our plant has become even more digital, more circular and more efficient overall this year,” says Ebner. “We are systematically driving our transformation towards electromobility and the BMW iFactory – an intelligently connected digital factory.” Recent accolades, such as being named “FACTORY OF THE YEAR” 2024 in the category “excellent large-series assembly” and receiving the “Best Cars Award” for the BMW X1 from trade journal auto motor und sport in 2024, provide impressive proof of this. “I would like to extend a big thank you to our entire plant team and our partners for everything we have achieved together.”

BMW Group Plants Regensburg and Wackersdorf
The BMW Group vehicle plant in Regensburg has been in operation since 1986 and is one of more than 30 BMW Group production locations worldwide. Every workday, around 1,400 vehicles of the BMW X1 and BMW X2 models roll off the production line at Plant Regensburg, destined for customers around the globe. Different types of drive trains are flexibly manufactured on a single production line – ranging from vehicles with internal combustion engines to plug-in hybrids and fully-electric models.

BMW Group Plant Regensburg was recognised as “FACTORY OF THE YEAR” 2024 in the category “excellent large-series assembly” of the prestigious industrial competition. As it implements the BMW iFACTORY, the BMW Group is focused on digitalisation of the Regensburg plant site to create a digital and intelligently connected factory. It is already possible to experience in virtual form what the factory will look like a few years from now. Production of models for the NEUE KLASSE, BMW’s next generation of vehicles, will ramp up in Regensburg in the second half of the decade.

The BMW Group plant in Wackersdorf is home to cockpit production and parts supply for overseas plants. With the opening of a new battery testing centre and commissioning of the first phase in autumn 2024, the location has also become a key facilitator for electromobility. An entirely new area of expertise for the site is the door and flap production centre for Rolls-Royce.

The BMW Group core staff at the Regensburg and Wackersdorf locations in eastern Bavaria consists of around 9,250 employees, including more than 300 apprentices.

De BMW iX1 is verkozen tot ‘Zakenauto van het jaar 2025’ tijdens de AM Driving Business Awards. De iX1 werd vorig jaar al uitgeroepen tot ‘Beste Nieuwkomer 2024’. De vakjury oordeelde dat de BMW iX1 het beste scoort op gebied van kwaliteit van dealer en importeur én beleving. Ook op de punten kilometerkostprijs en duurzaamheid loopt de BMW iX1 voorop. Opvallend: de BMW iX1 staat samen met de BMW i4 in de top drie op het vlak van duurzaamheid. Mede hierdoor veroverde de i4 de tweede podiumplek, nadat hij eerder al tot ‘Beste Nieuwkomer 2023’ werd verkozen. De BMW i5 werd tweede in de categorie ‘Beste Nieuwkomer 2025’. Hij wordt als “vernieuwend gezien met nieuwe features voor berijders die het verblijf in de auto veel aangenamer maken. De i5 scoort hoog als het gaat om zijn slagingskansen om volgend jaar de Zakenauto-titel in de wacht te slepen en haalt de op één na hoogste score op duurzaamheid”, luidde het commentaar.

Over de winnaar oordeelde de vakjury: “Niet alleen de auto zit goed in elkaar, ook de aftersales heeft BMW Nederland goed op orde. Zeker in de zakelijke markt is dat van essentieel belang.” De winst is niet alleen voor de volledig elektrische iX1, de brandstof en Plug-in Hybride-uitvoeringen van de X1 delen in de overwinning. Dat BMW Group verschillende aandrijflijnen in één model aanbiedt, overtuigt ook: “Dankzij deze strategie wint BMW het momenteel van zijn directe concurrenten die vaak elektrische modellen op de markt brengen met een afwijkende vormgeving die niet iedereen aanspreekt. Het is de best rijdende EV op basis van een brandstofmodel,” laat de jury weten.

Anne Brons, CEO BMW Group Nederland is erg trots op het succes van de drie BMW modellen in deze editie van de jaarlijkse verkiezing: “Ik dank de vakjury voor hun oordeel. De BMW iX1 is sinds de verkoopstart vorig jaar tot op heden ons bestverkochte model in Nederland. De iX1 en X1 modellen zijn niet alleen een schot in de roos van de zakelijke markt, ze spreken alle klantsegmenten aan. De helft elektrisch.
In 2030 zal de helft van alle verkochte BMW Group modellen wereldwijd volledig elektrisch zijn. Aan deze ambitie levert de iX1 een grote bijdrage, aangezien de klant nu in elk segment uit een volledig elektrische BMW kan kiezen. Mede dankzij de iX1 is de verwachting dat het aandeel van 50% volledig elektrische verkoop in Nederland jaren eerder wordt gehaald dan in 2030.

Munich. The new features set to enhance the BMW model line-up from autumn 2023 centre on the latest advances in terms of digitalisation. The new BMW X1 and BMW 2 Series Active Tourer will both be equipped with the upgraded BMW iDrive featuring QuickSelect and BMW Operating System 9 from November 2023. The BMW Digital Premium offering, with its highly customisable selection of online-based services, is also being introduced in both model series at the same time. Plus, extra digital services will be made available for a large number of current models via Remote Software Upgrade. Meanwhile, an extended range of functions will also add to the appeal of the My BMW App.

When it comes to automated driving systems, the highlight is without doubt the new Highway Assistant, which is also due to become available for models in the BMW 7 Series range from March 2024 following its premiere in the new 5 Series Sedan. Autumn 2023 will also bring additions to the choice of exterior colours and light-alloy wheels for selected models.

More intuitive and easier to use than ever: new BMW iDrive with QuickSelect.

From November 2023, the upgraded BMW iDrive with QuickSelect will be fitted as standard in all model variants of the new BMW X1, the all-electric BMW iX1 and the new BMW 2 Series Active Tourer, enabling numerous vehicle functions to be operated even more intuitively and easily. The latest incarnation of the display and control/operation system is based on BMW Operating System 9 and is packaged together with the BMW Curved Display and BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant.

The new BMW iDrive features a redesigned home screen and the QuickSelect rapid-access tech, bringing an improved menu structure that takes its cue from consumer electronics devices. The new home screen displays the navigation system’s map view or other individually configurable graphics in the control display at all times. On the same level, function icons appear in a vertical arrangement on the driver’s side of the display. Drivers can switch between icons with a vertical swipe of the finger. The QuickSelect feature allows the function selected in this way to be activated directly without having to enter a submenu.

BMW Operating System 9 was developed in-house by the BMW Group and is based on an Android Open Source Project (AOSP) software stack for the first time. It provides the basis for a broader offering of digital content that serves information and entertainment, shorter function update cycles and improved accessibility to a host of specific online services.

New BMW Digital Premium offering: customised selection of gaming, video & music streaming and other online services.

The new BMW Digital Premium offering will be brought out in Germany in November 2023 alongside the introduction of BMW Operating System 9. It will be available as an option for BMW X1, BMW iX1 and BMW 2 Series Active Tourer models and can be ordered from the BMW ConnectedDrive Store, which has now been expanded with the addition of further third-party apps. This means customers can enjoy in-car use of all the apps available in their country, e.g. for video and music streaming, news or gaming, as part of a package. In addition to this, BMW Digital Premium also includes enhanced navigation functions along with added customisation options thanks to extra My Modes, for instance.

As with all other ConnectedDrive Upgrades, BMW Digital Premium can be obtained from the ConnectedDrive Store either on the website, in the My BMW App or directly in the car. And, from November 2023, it will be even easier for customers to add ConnectedDrive Upgrades, as it will then be possible to not just select them directly from their vehicle, but to pay for them at the same time. In other words, instead of being redirected to the app or internet to complete their order, customers will be able to carry out the entire process, including payment, from the comfort of their car.

This new offering is designed to allow customers to put together a customised selection of digital services from the growing variety on offer – one that is perfectly suited to their personal requirements. BMW Digital Premium is available in Germany, for example, for €9.98 a month or from mid-2024 (provisionally) for an annual fee of €99 (both including VAT). The package also covers data usage for all digital services and the apps available from the BMW ConnectedDrive Store, including music and video streaming. Customers can take advantage of a free three-month trial period that will allow them to sample all the BMW Digital Premium services and content.

A new form of in-car gaming unique in the automotive sector is one of the highlights of BMW Digital Premium. BMW is presenting a wide selection of casual games that use a smartphone as the controller in collaboration with the AirConsole gaming platform. The games can be played in either solo or multiplayer mode when the vehicle is stationary as a way of passing the time while e.g. waiting for the high-voltage battery in the BMW iX1 or the BMW 2 Series Active Tourer plug-in hybrid models to recharge. About ten titles will initially be available to play, including racing, sport, quiz and skill games, and the range will continue to grow.

Besides audio streaming, BMW Digital Premium also lets the occupants enjoy a wide variety of video streaming services (powered by Xperi TiVo) on the control display while the car is stationary. This offers customers access to an ever-growing selection of aggregated video content, such as news and live or on-demand streaming of movies and series, for instance, along with country-specific content. Available with BMW Digital Premium in the USA, UK, South Korea, France, Italy, Germany and Spain, the Video App will feature, among other things, the Pluto, Bloomberg Television, Deutsche Welle, Al Jazeera and TED portals. In Germany, the package will additionally include the tagesschau news service app as well as the popular streaming service JOYN. Country-specific content will also be offered from the outset in Italy and the USA. The portfolio of video streaming platforms will keep evolving and will be gradually rolled out to other countries too.

Enhanced navigation functions, additional My Modes.

One of the key benefits of BMW Digital Premium is the enhanced functionality of the cloud-based navigation system BMW Maps. For example, real-time traffic information (RTTI) with colour coding shows how freely traffic is flowing across the entire map area, even if route guidance is not activated. Other functions include 3D visualisation of buildings and surrounding elements in the map view and extended information on parking facilities. The driver is also proactively notified of the current traffic situation and estimated time of arrival when setting out to destinations they drive to regularly. If necessary, the system will even propose an alternative route. Turn-off instructions and lane recommendations are shown in realistic form in both the information display and the optional BMW Head-Up Display.

In Germany and other European countries, BMW Digital Premium offers the additional benefit of allowing drivers to pay parking fees directly from their vehicle in parking zones that support this payment method. And drivers in Germany also have the option of settling fuel bills digitally from their car after refuelling at participating filling stations. In both cases, payment is made using a credit card that is first registered with the partner company Parkopedia via the My BMW App.

In addition, BMW Digital Premium adds Expressive Mode, Relax Mode and Digital Art Mode to the choice of My Modes, opening up still greater scope for customising the driving experience. And it also brings new variants for both the Welcome Light sequence and the graphics visualising the BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant. 

Current Remote Software Upgrades for enhanced driving pleasure.

The Remote Software Upgrades bring existing digital functions right up to date. At the same time, new features and improvements to quality can also be imported into the car over the air. The latest in-car gaming and video-streaming services for BMW models will be made available in this way for the majority of vehicles with BMW Operating System 8.5 in autumn 2023.

Customers also receive notification of the Remote Software Upgrades in the My BMW App. Another option is for upgrades to be downloaded via the My BMW App and transferred to the vehicle before initiating the installation process there.

Extra functions for the My BMW App.

The My BMW App for smartphones provides customers with a direct link to their car and, depending on the vehicle configuration and country, offers them the benefit of numerous functions designed to make day-to-day mobility even more straightforward. This includes information transferred to the user’s smartphone on their vehicle’s status, servicing requirements, charging status and range, as well as remote access to functions for vehicle locating, locking and unlocking the doors, climate control and monitoring the car’s immediate vicinity. Charging-optimised routes can also be planned via the My BMW App and destination addresses sent from a smartphone to the vehicle’s navigation system. From autumn 2023, it will also be possible to enter mid-journey stops as part of the process.

And from March 2024, customers with compatible Android smartphones will also be able to use the My BMW App to operate the Remote Control Parking and Manoeuvre Assistant functions available with the optional Parking Assistant Professional and BMW Digital Key Plus. The My BMW App will also indicate the status of the alarm system on suitably equipped vehicles and show how it can be fully or partially activated.

New Highway Assistant also coming soon for the BMW 7 Series.

BMW has become the first carmaker to gain approval from Germany’s Federal Motor Transport Authority for semi-automated driving at speeds up to 130 km/h (81 mph). As a result, the BMW Highway Assistant already available in the USA and Canada is now set to become an extremely innovative component of the optional Driving Assistant Professional package in Germany too. The new function lets the driver take their hands off the steering wheel and put them in a comfortable position while driving. First launched in the new BMW 5 Series Sedan, it will also become available to use in the BMW 7 Series luxury sedan from spring 2024.

The BMW Highway Assistant can operate on multi-lane roads with structurally separated carriageways, with the function’s availability indicated to the driver in the information display. On suitably designated stretches of road, the driver is able to take their hands off the steering wheel for longer periods and position them comfortably, provided they continue to pay attention to what is happening on the road and are able to take over the steering again at any time. The Active Lane Change Assistant with eye confirmation included as part of the new BMW Highway Assistant adds another layer to the automated driving experience. As soon as the traffic situation permits, it is capable of performing the necessary steering movements for an overtaking manoeuvre, for example, and adjusting the vehicle’s speed as required. Plus, for the first time, the driver is able to initiate a lane change suggested by this system by simply looking in the exterior mirror to confirm it.

Additional exterior colour for the new BMW 5 Series Sedan, new 21-inch light-alloy wheels for the 7 Series.

A new shade is already being added to the selection of exterior colours for the new BMW 5 Series Sedan, just a short time after its launch. The Fire Red metallic paint finish will be made available for the BMW i5 M60 xDrive Sedan (electric power consumption combined: 20.6 – 18.2 kWh/100 km in the WLTP cycle) from November 2023, as well as for all other model variants of the new business sedan specified with the M Sport package.

A further highly exclusive design of light-alloy wheel will be added to the range of optional extras for the BMW 7 Series from November 2023. At the same time, 21-inch BMW Individual light-alloy wheels in multi-spoke design will also be available for all model variants of the luxury sedan. They have a bi-colour finish and are fitted with mixed-size tyres.

All of the stated model variants, equipment features, technical data and fuel/electric power consumption and emissions figures relate to the offering in the German market.

De nieuwe BMW X1 M35i manifesteert zich als topmodel van de BMW X1 en combineert het spontane rijplezier van een Sports Activity Vehicle (SAV) met de dynamiek en stuurprecisie van BMW M modellen. De viercilinder-in-lijn 2,0-liter benzinemotor is van de nieuwe modulaire generatie BMW Group Efficient Dynamics motoren en voorzien van M TwinPower Turbo technologie. De krachtbron is gekoppeld aan een 7-traps Steptronic transmissie met dubbele koppeling. Het maximale vermogen bedraagt 221 kW (300 pk) en een maximaal koppel van 400 Nm. 

Vanuit stilstand bereikt de nieuwe BMW X1 M35i in 5,4 seconden de 100 km/h en de topsnelheid is elektronisch begrensd op 250 km/h. M specifieke ondersteltechnologie – inclusief optionele M Compound-schijfremmen, een primeur voor een performance model – zorgt samen met de intelligente BMW xDrive vierwielaandrijving voor sublieme prestaties. Het sportieve karakter van de BMW X1 M35i komt in het interieur en exterieur tot zijn uiting. Het nieuwe topmodel heeft exclusieve design- en uitrustingsdetails die zijn voorbehouden aan de high-performance modellen van BMW M GmbH. Dit zijn bijvoorbeeld de dubbele uitlaateindpijpen en de optionele M Sportstoelen met verlicht M logo. De BMW X1 M35i is ook een van de eerste modellen met het nieuwe BMW iDrive met QuickSelect en BMW Operating System 9. De Europese marktintroductie vindt plaats in november 2023.

Krachtigste BMW viercilindermotor van nieuwe generatie.
De krachtigste versie van de viercilinder benzinemotor van de nieuwe modulaire generatie zorgt voor een zintuigprikkelende rijbeleving. Verschillende innovaties onderscheiden deze nieuwe motoren van de vorige generatie. Zo loopt de krachtbron volgens de Miller cyclus, zijn de inlaatkanalen en verbrandingskamers nieuw ontworpen en zijn de timing van de nokkenas, het injectiesysteem en de afvoer van uitlaatgas gewijzigd.

Tot de M specifieke highlights van de 2,0 litermotor behoren een nieuwe en extreem robuuste krukasgeleiding, een geoptimaliseerd systeem voor de olietoevoer met koelingskanalen naar de zuigers en gebruik van hoofdlagerschalen en -kappen zoals die ook zijn te vinden in de nieuwste generatie zescilinder-in-lijn benzinemotoren. De M TwinPower Turbo technologie is geüpgraded voor betere prestaties van de turbocompressoren en indirecte luchtkoeling. Tegelijkertijd zorgt dubbele brandstofinjectie per cilinder voor een optimaal brandstofmengsel. De motor is verder voorzien van VANOS variabele nokkenastiming met geoptimaliseerde olietoevoer en VALVETRONIC volledig variabele kleptiming. De motor levert zijn maximale vermogen van 221 kW (300 pk) tussen 5.750 en 6.500 t/min, terwijl het maximale koppel van 400 Nm beschikbaar is tussen 2.000 en 4.500 t/min.

De prestaties van de nieuwe viercilinder worden versterkt door een oorstrelend en vol geluid uit het M specifieke uitlaatsysteem. Bij de BMW X1 M35i worden de uitlaatgassen geleid door een kenmerkend uitlaatgassysteem van BMW M GmbH met dubbele uitlaateindpijpen. De uitlaateindpijpen zijn links en rechts in de achterbumper gevormd en zijn kenmerkend voor de high-performance modellen van BMW M.

7-traps Steptronic transmissie met dubbele koppeling en M Sport Boost.
De 7-traps Steptronic transmissie van de nieuwe BMW X1 M35i onderscheidt zich met zeer snelle schakelacties. Schakelpaddles aan het stuurwiel maken het daarnaast mogelijk om handmatig te schakelen. De M Sport Boost functie zorgt voor een uitzonderlijk sterke acceleratie. Het inschakelen van deze meest sportieve stand voor aandrijflijn en onderstel gebeurt door de linker schakelpaddle ten minste 1 seconde ingetrokken te houden.

Optimale grip en dynamiek: BMW xDrive vierwielaandrijving en mechanisch limited-slip differentieel op de vooras.
De BMW xDrive vierwielaandrijving zorgt ervoor dat de aandrijfkracht op basis van de omstandigheden optimaal wordt verdeeld over de voor- en achterwielen. Het systeem werkt daarvoor continu samen met de andere onderstelsystemen. Een koppeling met elektro-hydraulische aansturing kan aandrijfkracht binnen milliseconden naar de achterwielen sturen, wat zorgt voor aanzienlijk meer tractie, grip, stabiliteit en sportieve prestaties.

De vierwielaandrijving wordt bijgestaan door een mechanisch limited-slip differentieel, dat is geïntegreerd in de 7-traps Steptronic transmissie. Het differentieel beperkt het snelheidsverschil tussen beide voorwielen. Met een vergrendeling tot 26 procent zorgt het differentieel voor extra grip op losse ondergrond of op glad wegdek bij slecht weer, terwijl ook de wendbaarheid en dynamiek in bochten erop vooruit gaat.

Standaard adaptief M onderstel en Sport Steering.
De nieuwe BMW X1 M35i is standaard voorzien van het adaptieve M onderstel met mechanisch aangestuurde, verstelbare en frequentie-selectieve dempers. Die zorgen voor zowel extra dynamiek als comfort op lange afstanden. Het sportieve topmodel staat ook 15 millimeter lager boven het wegdek dan de andere BMW X1 modellen.  De eveneens standaard Sport Steering biedt snelheidsafhankelijke Servotronic stuurbekrachtiging met een zeer directe overbrenging.

Remsysteem met optionele M Compound-schijfremmen.
Het remsysteem van de nieuwe BMW X1 M35i reageert opvallend direct en precies op de input van de bestuurder, terwijl het rempedaal uitstekende feedback geeft. De activering van de remmen, de rembekrachtiger en de bediening van de remmen is samengebracht in één compacte module, waarbij een elektrische aansturing zorgt voor de juiste remdruk.

De BMW X1 M35i is het eerste performance model van BMW M GmbH dat optioneel leverbaar is met M Compound-schijfremmen, met vierzuiger vaste remklauwen en geperforeerde remschijven voor met een diameter van 385 mm en eenzuiger zwevende remklauwen achter met geïntegreerde handrem en remschijven met een diameter van 330 mm. De remklauwen zijn uitgevoerd in grijs en voorzien van het M logo.

Geavanceerde tractiecontrole voor extra dynamiek.
De combinatie van uitgebalanceerde handling en optimale dynamiek dankt de BMW X1 M35i aan de Dynamische Stabiliteits Controle (DSC) en de geavanceerde tractiecontrole. Daarbij is de tractiecontrole in het motormanagement geïntegreerd. De tractiecontrole zorgt voor optimale grip (zelfs op gladde ondergrond) en ongeëvenaarde stabiliteit, zowel in rechte lijn als in bochten.

Standaard 19-inch lichtmetalen M wielen.
19-inch lichtmetalen M wielen behoren tot de standaarduitrusting van de BMW X1 M35i. De lichtmetalen wielen zijn voorzien van banden die 20 mm breder zijn dan bij het vorige model, wat de BMW X1 M35i nog meer dynamisch potentieel geeft. Optioneel zijn 20-inch lichtmetalen M wielen in een exclusief dubbelspaak design en met sportbanden.

Design en uitrustingen: met de signatuur van M.
De nieuwe BMW X1 M35i onderscheidt zich niet alleen met zijn prestaties van de andere BMW X1 modellen, maar ook met zijn M specifieke design. Het interieur van de BMW X1 M35i heeft standaard al een bijzonder sportieve uitstraling. Dat is verder te versterken met exclusieve opties zoals de M Sportstoelen. M specifieke weergaven op het BMW Curved Display – een 10,25-inch digitaal instrumentenpaneel en een 10,7-inch informatiedisplay, die samen een geheel vormen – attenderen de bestuurder op de sportieve prestaties.

Bekende M details: M nierengrille met horizontale dubbele spijlen, M buitenspiegelkappen en vier uitlaateindpijpen.
De M specifieke designkenmerken van de nieuwe BMW X1 M35i vormen een visuele bevestiging van de techniek die in de uitzonderlijk sportieve auto schuilgaat en dragen bovendien bij aan een optimale aerodynamica en aanvoering van koellucht. De voorbumper met bijzonder grote luchtinlaten zorgt er bijvoorbeeld voor dat de motor, transmissie en remmen altijd een optimale temperatuur hebben, zelfs bij hard remmen. Prominente dorpelverbreders, een modelspecifieke dakspoiler en een achterbumper met diffusorinzet maken het prestatiegerichte karakter van het nieuwe topmodel direct duidelijk.

De BMW M nierengrille van de nieuwe BMW X1 M35i is voorzien van het M logo en horizontale dubbele spijlen – een detail dat de high-performance modellen van BMW M GmbH kenmerkt. In het zijaanzicht vormen de zwarte M buitenspiegelkappen en de dubbele spiegelvoet een highlight. Eveneens heel herkenbaar zijn de vier uitlaateindpijpen – elk met een diameter van 80 mm – die uiterst links en rechts zijn geïntegreerd in de modelspecifieke achterbumper, als een visuele verwijzing naar de meest verfijnde motor van het modelaanbod.

M specifiek interieur, optioneel met M Sportstoelen.
Het eveneens M specifieke cockpitdesign draagt bij aan de intense, prestatiegerichte beleving in het interieur. Highlights zijn het met Alcantara beklede dashboard, de Aluminium Hexacube Dark interieuraccenten, antracietkleurige hemelbekleding, M instaplijsten, M pedalen, de M specifieke weergaven op het BMW Curved Display – en optioneel ook het BMW Head-Up Display – en het met leder beklede M Sportstuurwiel met schakelpaddles.

Tot de standaarduitrusting van de nieuwe BMW X1 M35i behoren ook met zwart Veganza/Alcantara beklede sportstoelen met blauw contrasterend stiksel. Deze stoelen zijn optioneel leverbaar met Vernasca leder met speciaal diamantpatroon. M Sportstoelen zijn optioneel leverbaar.

Het sportieve interieur is niettemin onverminderd functioneel. De rugleuning van de achterbank is in de verhouding 40:20:40 neerklapbaar en de hoek van de rugleuning is voor iedere zitplaats individueel instelbaar. Optioneel zijn de achterste zitplaatsen naar voren en naar achteren verschuifbaar voor nog meer flexibiliteit. De bagageruimte heeft een inhoud van 540 liter en is te vergroten tot 1.600 liter.

Rijke standaarduitrusting.
De nieuwe BMW X1 M35i is standaard voorzien van automatische airconditioning, BMW Live Cockpit Plus met BMW Maps navigatie, M dakrails in hoogglans zwart, automatische bediening van de achterklep, een regensensor met automatische activering van de koplampen, vier USB-C aansluitingen en twee 12V aansluitingen.

Ook wat betreft assistentie en geautomatiseerd rijden en parkeren laat de BMW X1 M35i niets te wensen over. Tot de standaarduitrusting behoren Front Collision Warning, Cruise Control met remfunctie en Parking Assistant met achteruitrijcamera en Reversing Assistant (achteruitrijassistent). Optioneel leverbaar zijn onder meer Steering and Lane Control, Active Cruise Control met Stop&Go functie, Active Navigation, Exit Warning, Surround View, Remote 3D View, de BMW Drive Recorder en de Remote Theft Recorder.

De nieuwe BMW X1 M35i is een van de eerste modellen met de vernieuwde versie van het BMW iDrive bedieningssysteem, met QuickSelect en BMW Operating System 9. Om het selecteren en bedienen van verschillende functies en digitale services nog intuïtiever en gemakkelijker te maken, biedt de nieuwste generatie BMW iDrive een nieuw ontworpen ‘home’ scherm en de QuickSelect functie. Het gaat om een verbeterde menustructuur, die lijkt op die van mobiele apparaten zoals bij smartphones en tablets. Door de juiste informatie op de juiste plek te tonen, zorgt het nieuwe BMW iDrive voor een meer gefocuste en veiliger rijbeleving.

Het BMW iDrive systeem met QuickSelect wordt ondersteund door BMW Operating System 9.  Deze technologie biedt een nog breder aanbod van digitale content voor informatie en entertainment. Er zijn vaker updates en de toegang tot verschillende specifieke online services is verbeterd. BMW iDrive met QuickSelect werkt samen met het BMW Curved Display en de BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant en is daarmee volledig gericht op bediening via het touchscreen en met natuurlijke spraakcommando’s.

Munich. When the snow starts falling and the roads get icy, the new BMW X1 and new BMW iX1 are in their element. Their robust character profile and BMW xDrive provide all the necessary tools for the job at hand – and in winter training on the glacier above Sölden, Austria they are showcasing the benefits of fully variable power transfer to all four wheels once again. What is more, the new edition of the compact Sports Activity Vehicle (SAV) is now available with three variants of intelligent all-wheel drive. Whether it’s joining forces with mild hybrid petrol and diesel engines, a plug-in hybrid drive system or all-electric power in the new BMW iX1, BMW xDrive serves up assured progress and wintry driving pleasure on the snow-packed test routes of Austria’s Ötztal region.

Six model variants of the new SAV with BMW xDrive are now on sale. Four of these are here in Sölden to shine a spotlight on the intelligent all-wheel-drive system in all its variety. The most powerful petrol- and diesel-engined representatives of the new BMW X1 embody the transfer of drive to all four wheels – as required at any time – in its original form. 48V mild hybrid technology provides these models with an extra electric power boost, which optimises efficiency and, most prominently, sharpens power delivery.

In the new BMW X1 xDrive23i (fuel consumption combined: 7.2 – 6.5 l/100 km [39.2 – 43.5 mpg imp]; CO₂ emissions combined: 163 – 146 g/km in the WLTP cycle; NEDC figures: – ) this produces an overall output of 160 kW/218 hp. The new BMW X1 xDrive23d (fuel consumption combined: 5.4 – 4.8 l/100 km [52.3 – 58.9 mpg imp]; CO₂ emissions combined: 141 – 125 g/km in the WLTP cycle; NEDC figures: – ) develops 155 kW/211 hp. In both cases, the drive power produced by the combination of combustion engine and electric motor is split between the front and rear wheels via a bevel gear and an electrohydraulically controlled hang-on clutch. Interlinked with DSC (Dynamic Stability Control), this system responds to changes in conditions in a fraction of a second and directs power to where it is needed.

The new BMW X1 xDrive30e (fuel consumption combined: 1.0 – 0.7 l/100 km [282.5 – 403.5 mpg imp]; electric power consumption combined: 20.9 – 18.0 kWh/100 km; CO₂ emissions combined: 23 – 16 g/km in the WLTP cycle; NEDC figures: – ) is the most powerful of the two plug-in hybrid options for the new BMW X1. Here, a three-cylinder petrol engine driving the front wheels and an electric motor sending power through the rear wheels develop system output of 240 kW/326 hp. The precisely controlled interplay of combustion engine and electric motor delivers hybrid-specific all-wheel drive. At the winter test in Sölden, this is evident most strikingly in the instantaneous availability of power when pulling away and the cars’ sure-footed traction on snow-covered surfaces.

With one electric motor at the front axle and one at the rear, the new BMW iX1 xDrive30 (electric power consumption combined: 18.1 – 16.8 kWh/100 km; CO₂ emissions combined: 0 g/km in the WLTP cycle; NEDC figures: – ) also offers customers a drive concept in which the transfer of power to all four wheels is an inherent element of its design. Together, its duo of electric motors generate maximum output of 230 kW/313 hp, which can be translated into driving pleasure extremely effectively on the snow-covered tracks of the winter testing facility, as elsewhere.

In the electrified drive variants of the SAV, credit for the impressive traction on display goes to a globally unique drive torque control system – an AWD-specific version of near-actuator wheel slip limitation (ARB-X). This allows the power requested by the driver to be distributed even more precisely to optimise not only the traction and directional stability of the new BMW iX1 xDrive30 and new BMW X1 Drive30e, but also their agility and driving performance. When moving off on slippery ground or driving dynamically through corners, for example, the amount of drive sent through the rear wheels is increased as required to prevent the front wheels from spinning and to enhance the car’s agility.

Improving safety and therefore the driving experience on challenging terrain, meanwhile, are driver assistance functions offered for the first time in the segment occupied by the new BMW X1. These include camera feeds sent to the control display when the Hill Descent Control and drive-off assistant systems are in use, helping the driver to navigate tricky mountain routes and negotiate ice- and snow-affected surfaces.

Euro NCAP safety rating: The new BMW X1 and BMW 2 Series Active Tourer receive top 5-star rating.

European Consumer Protection Institute awards both premium compact models the top rating. New centre airbag reduces the risk of injury to the driver and front passenger in the event of a side impact. New generation of front collision warning can also protect pedestrians and cyclists when making turns.

Munich. The current new editions of the BMW X1 and the BMW 2 Series Active Tourer are characterised by offering versatile driving pleasure. The fact that the progress associated with the generation change also leads to an increase in active and passive safety has now been confirmed in the European New Car Assessment Programme (Euro NCAP). The independent safety experts of the European Consumer Protection Institute awarded both the Sports Activity Vehicle (SAV) and the modern all-rounder in the premium compact segment the highest rating of 5 stars. In the demanding test procedure, the new BMW X1 and the new BMW 2 Series Active Tourer stood out thanks to their excellent occupant protection in collisions of various types, effective protection for pedestrians and cyclists, as well as effective accident avoidance systems.

The extensive standard equipment featuring safety-relevant driver assistance systems decisively contributed to the 5-star rating. Above all, the latest generation of front collision warning with braking function provides an additional plus in safety in urban traffic. It can now also detect pedestrians and cyclists approaching parallel to the lane from behind or in front when turning right, effectively helping to avoid a collision with weaker road users. In addition, the new system warns of oncoming traffic when turning left. All of the driver assistance systems used in the new BMW X1 and the new BMW 2 Series Active Tourer are among the best on the market and impressed the Euro NCAP safety experts with their range of functions and reliable level of response.

The new BMW X1 and the new BMW 2 Series Active Tourer convinced the experts with their innovative systems in the area of passive safety. Both models feature a centre airbag between the driver and front passenger seats as standard. This system, used for the first time in BMW models in the compact segment, was rated to be extremely effective in the test. It is the latest component of the BMW integrated safety concept, which is being advanced constantly and which, in addition to highly resilient support structures and precisely designed deformation paths, also includes a model-specific combination of precisely coordinated restraint systems.

In various collision tests, this integrated safety concept proved to guarantee a high level of protection against injury at all times in both models, regardless of the size and seating position of the occupants.  In both the front and rear seats, the headrests and seats of the new BMW X1 and the new BMW 2 Series Active Tourer effectively protect against cervical injuries that can be triggered by a rear-end collision, according to Euro NCAP. In addition, the test experts highlighted the standard equipment featured by both models with the intelligent emergency call and an emergency braking system for avoiding secondary collisions.

To reduce the risk of injury to pedestrians and cyclists, the new BMW X1 and new BMW 2 Series Active Tourer feature active engine compartment lids. In the event of an impact, the engine compartment lids are raised by means of pyrotechnic actuators to create additional deformation space between them and the hard components underneath. The system proved to be reliable and effective at different speeds in the Euro NCAP safety test.

The ratings of the Euro NCAP testing institute are a benchmark for accident safety recognised Europe-wide and the safety level is being raised constantly. Only new vehicles that offer excellent impact protection and are also well equipped with comprehensive and practical technology for accident avoidance receive the highest rating of 5 stars.

All data on mileage, fuel and electricity consumption, CO₂ emissions and electric range are provisional values.

Fuel consumption, CO₂ emission figures and power consumption were measured using the methods required according to Regulation VO (EC) 2007/715 as amended. They refer to vehicles on the German automotive market. For ranges, the WLTP figures take into account the effects of any optional equipment.

All figures are already calculated on the basis of the new WLTP test cycle. Munich. The countdown for one of the most magical festivals is over. The first of the three festival weekends kicked off on 15 July. After an absence of almost two years, Tomorrowland is finally back – bigger and better than ever.

BMW AG has been pushing an international expansion of its music strategy since 2019, with music being one of the most important pillars in the global marketing mix of BMW. “Music inspires, shapes memories, and encourages people to come together. It speaks one global, emotional language,” says Stefan Ponikva, Head of Brand Communication and Experience. “As a relationship brand with 'joy' at its core, Tomorrowland is a perfect match for us as a brand engagement.”

The partnership between BMW Belux and Tomorrowland, up to now only a local one, will be expanded to the European level, creating unique opportunities for even more activation campaigns. The musical journey began at Brussels Airport in mid-June with the extraordinary theme “The Magical Forest of Joy” by BMW. A large-scale call-to-action campaign with a staggering reach of more than 15 million followers was also launched via the Tomorrowland platform.

A unique design for a unique car and a unique festival! What makes the new all-electric BMW iX1 x Steve Aoki particularly special is that it carries with it all the wishes and aspirations of festival visitors. A dedicated website was set up just for this purpose, where a personal “Message of Joy” – a message, a feeling or a positive thought about the future – can be shared with the world: #UNITEDINJOY.

Steve Aoki, two-time Grammy-nominated music producer, artist, fashion designer, entrepreneur, and NFT visionary was the co-creator of the fancy car wrap for the BMW iX1, based on these “Messages of Joy”.

The unique design of the new BMW iX1 x Steve Aoki will be on display in “The Magical Forest of Joy” by BMW during the three weekends of the festival. The BMW stand is open to all visitors where they can pose for photos and videos with the all-electric BMW iX1.

Rijswijk. Het instapmodel van het BMW X gamma is aantrekkelijker dan ooit. De nieuwe, derde generatie van de BMW X1 heeft een kenmerkend design, biedt buitengewone interieurruimte en geavanceerde digitale systemen – en voor het eerst ook volledig elektrische aandrijving. De nieuwe BMW iX1 biedt rijplezier en moderne, veelzijdige functionaliteit in combinatie met emissievrije mobiliteit. Verder dragen het nieuw weergave- en bedieningsconcept met BMW Operating System 8, het BMW Curved Display en een uitgebreid gamma automatische bestuurdersassistentie- en parkeerhulpsystemen bij aan het vooruitstrevende karakter van deze Sports Activity Vehicle (SAV) in het premium compacte segment.

Met zijn robuuste uiterlijk en veelzijdige functionaliteit belichaamt de nieuwe BMW X1 een gevoel van vrijheid en onafhankelijkheid, zowel in het dagelijkse gebruik als op lange reizen. Het vooruitstrevende interieur, de verfijnde ambiance en de veel uitgebreidere standaarduitrusting ten opzichte van die van de voorgaande generatie accentueren het premium karakter van de nieuwe BMW X1.

Vanaf de introductie van de nieuwe BMW X1 in oktober 2022 is er keuze uit twee benzine- en twee dieselmotoren. Standaard zijn die gekoppeld aan een 7-traps Steptronic automaat met dubbele koppeling. De aandrijfkracht wordt (afhankelijk van het model) via de voorwielen óf de intelligente BMW xDrive vierwielaandrijving naar de weg geleid. Vrijwel direct volgen de volledig elektrisch aangedreven BMW iX1 xDrive30, twee Plug-in Hybride modellen en twee modellen met conventionele motoren met 48 volt Mild Hybrid technologie.

De nieuwe BMW X1 wordt geproduceerd in de fabriek van BMW Group in het Duitse Regensburg, waar voor het eerst modellen met verbrandingsmotoren, plug-in hybride en volledig elektrische aandrijving van dezelfde productielijn rollen.

De BMW iX1 introduceert lokaal emissievrij rijden in het premium compacte segment, dat wereldwijd groeit. De compacte SAV met de nieuwste BMW eDrive technologie zorgt voor een enorme impuls voor elektromobiliteit. De winst op het gebied van duurzaamheid ten opzichte van zijn voorganger kan voor een deel worden toegeschreven aan niet alleen de verregaande elektrificatie, maar ook het grotere aandeel van groene energie die gebruikt wordt voor de productie en in de toeleveringsketen. Ook de grotere hoeveelheden gerecyclede en natuurlijke materialen die worden gebruikt dragen bij aan de toegenomen duurzaamheid.

Design: moderne oppervlakken, opvallende en robuuste looks in onmiskenbare stijl van BMW X.
De oppervlakken, lijnen en stijlvolle designdetails van de derde modelgeneratie van de BMW X1 maken zijn SAV karakter nadrukkelijker dan ooit zichtbaar. Onderscheidende elementen zijn onder meer de krachtige proporties, de vrijwel vierkante contouren van de wielkuipen en de kenmerkende BMW X styling van zowel de voorzijde als de achterzijde.

De verticale voorzijde geeft de nieuwe BMW X1 een veel krachtigere uitstraling; de smalle LED koplampen, de grote, bijna vierkante BMW nierengrille, de lijnen die elkaar kruisen en naar de zijkanten uitlopen en de opvallende verchroomde strips in de onderste luchtinlaten zijn beeldbepalende elementen. Adaptieve LED koplampen met matrix grootlicht, variabele lichtverdeling en pulserende richtingaanwijzers zijn leverbaar als optionele uitrusting.

Expressief gevormde oppervlakken en de uitgestrekte daklijn kenmerken het dynamische, gestrekte silhouet van de nieuwe BMW X1. Van achteren bezien zorgen de slanke achterruit, de horizontale lijnen, de opvallende LED achterlichten en de uitlopende randen van de wielkuipen voor de typerende SAV looks.

Het robuuste aura van de nieuwe BMW X1 is nog verder versterkt met specifieke designelementen van het Model xLine, met onder meer bodembeschermers. Het Model M Sport legt de nadruk op het dynamische rijplezier dat de BMW X1 biedt, met onder meer grote luchtinlaten.

Alle modellen zijn standaard uitgerust met 17 inch lichtmetalen wielen. 18 inch lichtmetalen wielen behoren tot de uitrusting van Model xLine en Model M Sport; deze modellen zijn ook leverbaar met 19 en – voor het eerst voor de BMW X1 – 20 inch wielen. Klanten hebben de keuze uit twee effen en tien metallic carrosseriekleuren – en voor het eerst de optie van Frozen kleuren van BMW Individual.

Interieur: vooruitstrevende ambiance, veelzijdige ruimte.
De hoge zitpositie en de vooruitstrevende premium ambiance die is geïnspireerd op het interieur van de BMW iX dragen bij aan de onderscheidende rijbeleving in de nieuwe compacte SAV van BMW. De essentiële elementen in het nieuwe interieur zijn het slanke dashboard, de BMW Curved Display, de ‘zwevende’ armsteun met het geïntegreerde bedieningspaneel en de indirect verlichte pad voor de smartphone, aan de voorzijde van de middenconsole.

De nieuw ontwikkelde stoelen zijn leverbaar met naar keuze geperforeerde Sensatec of Vernasca lederen bekleding. Op de optielijst staan ook sportstoelen, elektrische stoelverstelling met geheugenfunctie en lendensteunen met massagefunctie. Verder heeft BMW zowel de geluidsisolatie in de auto als de inzittendenbescherming verder verbeterd. Het geïntegreerde passieve-veiligheidsconcept omvat nu ook een nieuwe airbag tussen de voorstoelen.

Achterin biedt de nieuwe BMW X1 drie volwaardige zitplaatsen en daardoor beduidend meer zitcomfort. De in de verhouding 40:20:40 gedeeld neerklapbare achterbankleuning is ook in een hoek verstelbaar voor meer bagageruimte. De optie van de in lengterichting verstelbare achterbank voor modellen met een verbrandingsmotor geeft de BMW X1 nog meer gebruiksmogelijkheden. De bagageruimte van 540 liter kan worden uitgebreid tot maar liefst 1.600 liter. De optionele trekhaak voor de nieuwe BMW X1 is nu elektrisch te bedienen met een simpele druk op een knop.

Automatische airconditioning, met leder bekleed sportstuurwiel en BMW Maps behoren tot de standaarduitrusting.
Het BMW Maps navigatiesysteem, het met leder beklede sportstuurwiel, de intelligente automatische airconditioning en de regensensor met automatische activatie van de verlichting behoren tot de standaarduitrusting van de nieuwe BMW X1, net als vier USB-C- en twee 12-voltaansluitingen en veel meer bestuurdersassistentiesystemen dan in de BMW X1 van de vorige generatie.

Vernieuwde uitrustingspakketten maken nog gerichter individualiseren van de nieuwe BMW X1 mogelijk. Het premium karakter kan nog worden versterkt met opties als het spiegelpakket, een glazen panoramadak en een Harman Kardon Sound System.

BMW iX1 start een nieuw tijdperk van rijplezier in compacte SAV’s.
De BMW iX1 xDrive30 is het eerste vierwielaangedreven volledig elektrische model van BMW in het premium compacte segment. With an average fuel consumption from 2.0 litres per 100 kilometres* and CO2 emissions from 43 grams per kilometre*, the new BMW X1 xDrive25e sets a benchmark within its competitive field. Its combined power consumption is from 13.5 kWh per 100 kilometres*. The hybrid specific all-wheel drive with its fast and precise distribution of power between the front and rear wheels delivers a high level of driving pleasure and thrilling agility.

The plug-in hybrid system of the new BMW X1 xDrive 25e consists of a 1.5 litre 3-cylinder petrol engine with BMW TwinPower Turbo Technology and an electric drive specially developed for this model. It  is taken from the eDrive technology modular system of the BMW Group. The petrol engines mobilises a peak output of 92 kW/125 hp and a maximum torque of 220 Newton metres. It transfers its power to a 6-speed Steptronic transmission and drives the front wheels. The electric motor generates an output of 70 kW/95 hp and delivers 165 Nm of torque to the rear wheels via a single-speed transmission. This makes for a hybrid specific all-wheel drive, which gives the BMW X1 xDrive25e a unique level of agility in its competitive field delivering hallmark SAV driving pleasure. The highly responsive power delivery of the electric motor, which delivers its full torque spontaneously from standstill enables the driver to react extremely quickly to changing driving conditions. With the very latest battery cell technology the new BMW X1 xDrive25e possesses generous reserves of electrical energy enabling the driver to conduct the main share of everyday travel locally emissions-free with the electric motor alone. The latest-generation lithium-ion battery has a gross energy content of 9.7 kWh. This allows for an electrically powered range of up to 57 kilometres* in the BMW X1 xDrive25e. The high-voltage battery can be charged at conventional household sockets using the standard-equipment charging cable. The battery can be fully charged in around five hours in this way. Using a BMW i Wallbox, the relevant charging operation takes less than 3.6 hours. The charging socket is located under a separate flap on the front left side wall of the car.

The driver can use the eDrive button on the centre console to influence the drive system’s operating mode. In the AUTO eDRIVE standard setting, the intelligent drive system ensures optimum interaction between the two power units in all driving situations. Navigation data is also used to manage the plug-in hybrid system to increase both efficiency as well as driving pleasure. When navigation guidance is activated, the anticipatory energy management can also take into account the route profile for controlling the drive system. The MAX eDrive mode can be activated for maximum use of the electric drive. In this mode, the new BMW X1 xDrive25e reaches a top speed of 135 km/h. In addition there is also the SAVE BATTERY mode. It enables the driver to maintain the charging state of the high-voltage battery while driving or to increase it by means of recuperation. In this way battery capacity can be saved for later use when driving in purely electric mode in the city for example. The driving experience switch can be used independent of the drive mode. Due to is long electric range and its low CO2 emissions, the new BMW X1 xDrive25e (depending on equipment) meets the criteria which have been stipulated for the classification as an electric vehicle in Germany and the associated preferential treatment in public road traffic. Only half the gross list price is used as a basis when calculating the monetary benefit from private use of the company car.

In this way battery capacity can be saved for later use when driving in purely electric mode in the city for example. The driving experience switch can be used independent of the drive mode. In the new BMW X1 xDrive25e, the driver can use this to activate the COMFORT, SPORT and ECO PRO modes in order to influence the drive and suspension functions as well as to operate the electrically powered comfort systems.

Due to is long electric range and its low CO₂ emissions, the new BMW X1 xDrive25e (depending on equipment) meets the criteria which have been stipulated for the classification as an electric vehicle in Germany and the associated preferential treatment in public road traffic. In addition it also qualifies for reduced company car taxation in Germany. Only half the gross list price is used as a basis when calculating the monetary benefit from private use of the company car.

The new BMW X1 xDrive25e features acoustic pedestrian protection as standard. When driving electrically at speeds of up to 30 km/h, an unmistakeable sound designed specifically for electrified BMW models is generated to alert other road users to the approaching car without impairing the acoustic comfort of the vehicle occupants. In addition the standard equipment of the compact SAV with plug-in hybrid drive also includes 17 inch light alloy wheels, 2-zone automatic air conditioning as well as auxiliary air conditioning. The interior can be pre-conditioned remotely via BMW Connected using a smartphone. As an alternative to the basic version, the new BMW X1 xDrive25e is available as a Sport Line, xLine and M Sport model. In addition to the respective equipment packages, virtually all options of the conventionally powered BMW X1 are available for the plug-in hybrid model.

The positioning of the high-voltage battery underneath the rear seats not only leads to a very low centre of gravity, which optimises the agility of the BMW X1 xDrive25, but also to a slightly reduced transport capacity compared to the conventionally powered compact SAV model variants. The 450 litres luggage compartment volume is fully available in primary use. With a standard split of 40: 20: 40, the folding backrests enable this to be increased to 1,470 litres. A trailer tow hitch with electrically swivelling ballhead is optionally available for the new BMW X1 xDrive25e. The maximum trailer load is 750 kilograms.

Zelfverzekerd, sportief en opvallend: de vernieuwde BMW X1 (brandstofverbruik gecombineerd: 4,1-6,8 l/100 km; CO₂-emissie gecombineerd: 107-155 g/km) is een nieuw hoofdstuk in het voortdurende succesverhaal van deze Sports Activity Vehicle. De BMW X1 is aantrekkelijker dan ooit. Dat is te danken aan het vernieuwde design, de grote veelzijdigheid en talrijke vooruitstrevende uitrustingsdetails. De krachtige, maar bijzonder efficiënte 3- en 4-cilinder-in-lijn BMW TwinPower Turbo motoren en de intelligente vierwielaandrijving BMW xDrive staan garant voor het typerende rijplezier van BMW.

Prijzen
De vernieuwde BMW X1 staat vanaf eind juli 2019 bij de BMW dealer met onderstaande vanafprijzen:

Design: opvallend en sportief.
De huidige BMW X1 overtuigde meteen vanaf zijn introductie met zijn kenmerkende vormgeving. Dankzij een stevige opfrisbeurt oogt de Sports Activity Vehicle nu nog fraaier. De vernieuwde BMW X1 is direct te herkennen aan de nieuw vormgegeven voor- en achterzijde. Elke variant van de karakteristieke BMW X1 – van het instapmodel BMW X1 via de modellen xLine en Sport Line tot aan het model M Sport – heeft zijn eigen visuele identiteit.

De BMW X1 M Sport is de sportiefste optie, met verlaagde M Sport wielophanging, BMW Individual hoogglans Shadow Line afwerking met uitgebreide uitrusting (leverbaar vanaf ongeveer november 2019) en het M Aerodynamics Pack.

De vernieuwde BMW X1 ziet er – vooral aan de voorzijde – nu nog indrukwekkender uit dan voorheen. De grotere BMW grille – de nieren vallen nu in het midden samen – sluit aan op de nieuwe Adaptieve LED koplampen met een scherper lichtbeeld en de voorbumper met geïntegreerde LED mistlampen en grotere luchtinlaten. De achterzijde van de vernieuwde BMW X1 is ook nieuw vormgegeven. De nieuwe inzet in de achterbumper in carrosseriekleur is nu eveneens standaard uitgevoerd in carrosseriekleur. Dat maakt de achterzijde een nog sterker en stijlvoller geheel.

Een ander highlight is verwerkt in de linker buitenspiegel, die een X1 logo in tweekleurig LED licht op de grond projecteert als het portier wordt ontgrendeld. Dit is meer dat een optische gadget, want het maakt in- en uitstappen ook makkelijker.

Het aantrekkelijke nieuwe design van de BMW X1 wordt verder versterkt met drie nieuwe carrosseriekleuren – Jucaro Beige metallic, Misano Blau metallic (exclusief voor het model M Sport) en het bijzonder exclusieve BMW Individual Storm Bay metallic – en vier nieuwe wieldesigns.

Aandrijving: krachtig en efficiënt.
De vernieuwde BMW X1 is berekend op de toekomst. Vanaf de introductie komende zomer voldoen alle benzine- en dieselmotoren aan de emissienorm EU6d-temp; de BMW X1 sDrive16d en de BMW X1 xDrive25d voldoen zelfs al aan de EU6d-norm. Het vermogen van de efficiënte en sportieve 3- en 4-cilinder-in-lijn motoren wordt via de hoogst moderne voorwielaandrijving of de intelligente vierwielaandrijving BMW xDrive – afhankelijk van het model – omgezet in dynamische prestaties en rijplezier, op de weg of op uitdagend terrein.

De BMW X1 sDrive16d, te bestellen met een handmatig te bedienen 6-versnellingsbak of een 7-trapstransmissie met dubbele koppeling, is bijzonder efficiënt. Met de 6-versnellingsbak is het gecombineerde verbruik van het model met 85 kW (116 pk) vermogen 4,1-4,4 l/100 km, terwijl de CO₂-emissie gecombineerd 107-116 g/km bedraagt. Met de 7-trapstransmissie met dubbele koppeling zijn de cijfers 4,2-4,4 l/100 km en 109-116 g/km.

De BMW X1 xDrive25d (verbruik gecombineerd: 4,9-5,2 l/100 km; CO₂-emissie gecombineerd: 128-136 g/km) is gericht op sportiviteit, met een maximumvermogen van 170 kW (231 pk) en een maximumkoppel van 450 Nm. In elke situatie biedt dit model het kenmerkende rijplezier van BMW. De BMW X1 xDrive25d accelereert van 0 naar 100 km/h in slechts 6,6 seconden.

De BMW X1 xDrive25i is één van de meest dynamische modellen in het gamma. Met zijn 170 kW (231 pk) sterke motor en zijn precies schakelende 8-traps Steptronic transmissie leent dit model zich voor een sportief rijgedrag. Hij benadrukt het veelzijdige sportieve karakter van elke BMW X1. De BMW X1 xDrive25i sprint van 0 naar 100 km/h in 6,5 seconden. Het gecombineerde verbruik komt op 6,3-6,8 l/100 km en de gecombineerde CO₂ emissie ligt op 144-155 g/km. Het gamma van de nieuwe BMW X1 omvat nu zestien motor-transmissiecombinaties, zodat de klant een zeer brede keuze heeft.

Het lichtvoetige karakter en de betrouwbare wegligging van de BMW X1 zijn gebleven. Extra grip biedt de intelligente vierwielaandrijving BMW xDrive die in veel modellen is te bestellen.

BMW xDrive verdeelt de aandrijfkracht over de voor- en achteras en past de verdeling aan de omstandigheden op de weg aan. Het resultaat is een combinatie van optimale tractie, uitstekende stabiliteit en dynamiek in elke situatie.

Klaar voor de start: de BMW X1 xDrive25e.
De indrukwekkende efficiency van zowel de benzine- als dieselmodellen van de BMW X1 maakt de komst van de eerste BMW X1 met Plug-in Hybride aandrijving alleen maar spannender. Als dat nieuwe model volgend jaar op de markt verschijnt, breidt BMW de elektrificatie van zijn modellengamma opnieuw verder uit. De BMW X1 xDrive25e (verbruik gecombineerd: vanaf 2,0 l/100 km; CO₂-emissie gecombineerd: vanaf 43 g/km) – die naar verwachting in maart 2020 in productie gaat – is voorzien van de nieuwste, vierde generatie BMW batterijtechnologie, waarmee de batterij een brutocapaciteit heeft van 9,7 kWh. Daarmee heeft de Plug-in Hybride BMW X1 een puur elektrische actieradius van meer
dan vijftig kilometer.

Uitrusting: veelzijdigheid en connectiviteit.
De BMW X1 is niet alleen door zijn rijkwaliteiten zeer aantrekkelijk. Ook met de veelzijdigheid van het interieur, de geavanceerde technologie, de royale ruimte en talloze slimme en functionele oplossingen overtuigt deze auto. De hoge kwaliteit van de BMW X1 is duidelijk zichtbaar, bijvoorbeeld in de nieuwe stiksels in contrasterende kleuren rond het instrumentenpaneel dat zwart is aan de bovenkant en de kleur van de interieurbekleding op de lagere delen.

Het contrasterende stikwerk is te bestellen voor de modellen xLine, Sport Line en M Sport. In deze modellen zijn ook de vloermatten voorzien van een gekleurde zoom met contrasterend stikwerk. De BMW X1 is ook te bestellen met een keuze uit drie nieuwe bekledingsvarianten.

Een van de hoogtepunten in het interieur van de BMW X1 is de Control Display. Een centraal geplaatst 6,5 inch scherm is standaard daarbij inbegrepen. Als een navigatiesysteem is besteld, krijgt de koper ofwel een 8,8 inch scherm óf het nieuwe 10,25 inch Touch Control Display – dat te bedienen is via de BMW iDrive Controller. Het Control Display is het ideale platform waarop het uitgebreide infotainmentaanbod is te verkennen en biedt toegang tot de digitale diensten van BMW ConnectedDrive. De nieuwste versies zijn optioneel leverbaar in de BMW X1.

De opmerkelijke veelzijdigheid van de BMW X1 is niet beperkt tot alles wat digitaal is. Ook het interieur is volledig aan te passen aan de individuele wensen. De achterbank bijvoorbeeld kan in drie delen (40:20:40) worden neergeklapt en – optioneel – 13 centimeter in lengterichting worden verschoven. Opties als een automatische bagageklep en Comfort Access – die er in combinatie voor zorgen dat de bagageklep zonder handen kan worden geopend en gesloten – brengen de veelzijdigheid van de BMW X1 opnieuw een trede hoger.

Om de allereerste productie van een BMW in Nederland te vieren, brengt BMW Nederland een speciale uitvoering op de markt van het model dat deze zomer bij VDL Nedcar gebouwd zal worden: de BMW X1 Orange Edition. De BMW X1 is sinds zijn introductie in juli 2015 een zeer succesvol model over de gehele wereld. In Nederland staat hij in de top drie best verkochte BMW modellen.

De wereldwijde vraag naar de BMW X1 is dermate groot dat er extra productiecapaciteit nodig is als aanvulling op de productie van de BMW Group fabriek in Regensburg, waar de tweede generatie van het succesvolle model wordt gebouwd. VDL Nedcar produceert sinds 2014 al drie MINI-modellen in Limburg. De BMW X1 is het vierde model van BMW Group dat bij VDL Nedcar wordt geproduceerd en het eerste BMW model ooit dat in Nederland van de band loopt.

De BMW X1 Orange Edition is gebaseerd op een van de populairste varianten, de
BMW X1 xDrive20i Model xLine. Deze is te herkennen aan onder andere 18-inch lichtmetalen wielen in Y-spaak styling 569, bodembescherming in Silber matt en dorpellijsten met inleg in aluminium en BMW opschrift. De stoelen zijn bekleed met leder ‘Dakota’ Schwarz geperforeerd. Daarnaast beschikt het interieur onder meer over een met leder bekleed multifunctioneel sportstuur en interieurlijsten in Schwarz hoogglans met accentlijst Perlglanz Chrom.

De Orange Edition voegt daar zonder meerprijs nog aan toe: de toepasselijke metallic kleur Sunset Orange en het High Executive pakket (met onder andere Navigatiesysteem Plus, BMW Head-up Display, Elektrisch te openen en te sluiten achterklep, 2-zone automatische airconditioning en LED-koplampen). Het voordeel voor de klant loopt hiermee op tot bijna €6.000.

De BMW X1 Orange Edition is per direct leverbaar voor €51.300 (consumentenadviesprijs).

De nieuwe BMW X1 staat eind oktober in de showroom vanaf €39.900. Dat is de prijs van zowel de BMW X1 sDrive20i automaat als de BMW X1 sDrive18d (met 20% bijtelling). Tot de standaarduitrusting behoren onder meer airconditioning, audio met USB- en AUX-aansluitingen, het iDrive bedieningssysteem en een vrijstaand 6,5 inch display. Er is keuze uit de uitvoeringen Model Essential, Model Sport Line en Model xLine. Per november 2015 is ook het Model M Sport leverbaar.

Ten opzichte van het uitgaande model is het nieuwe interieur beduidend ruimer en functioneler en de aandrijving wordt verzorgd door viercilindermotoren van de nieuwste generatie. Samen met een efficiëntere versie van BMW’s xDrive vierwielaandrijving krijgt de BMW X1 een compleet nieuw onderstel, terwijl het verbruik tot wel 17 procent lager ligt. Bovendien valt de BMW X1 sDrive18d met handbak (met 109 g/km CO2-uitstoot) in 2015 nog in de categorie van 20 procent bijtelling.

Modellen en prijzen.
De nieuwe BMW X1 wordt geleverd met de nieuwe generatie viercilinders. Direct vanaf de marktintroductie in oktober is er keuze uit twee benzine- en drie dieselversies.

BMW X1 sDrive18d(A) Corporate Lease Edition.
Met de BMW X1 sDrive18d is er nu ook een BMW X1 met 20% bijtelling. Zodoende is dit model bij introductie ook leverbaar als Corporate Lease Edition. Dit betekent niet alleen het voordeel van 20% bijtelling, want deze uitvoering wordt standaard geleverd als Model Essential inclusief Business en een alarmsysteem.

BMW presenteert de nieuwe BMW X1. Een model waar de BMW X designtaal sterk naar voren komt. De tweede generatie heeft een krachtiger Sports Activity Vehicle uiterlijk dan zijn voorganger, waarvan wereldwijd meer dan 730.000 exemplaren zijn verkocht. Het nieuwe interieur biedt beduidend meer ruimte, heeft een meer premium uitstraling en is functioneler. De BMW X1 krijgt daarnaast viercilindermotoren van de nieuwste generatie. Samen met een efficiëntere versie van BMW’s xDrive vierwielaandrijving krijgt de BMW X1 een compleet nieuw onderstel, terwijl het verbruik tot wel 17 procent lager uitpakt. De BMW X1 sDrive18d met handbak valt met 109 g/km in 2015 nog in de categorie van 20 procent bijtelling.

De laatste generatie BMW X1 onderscheidt zich nu nog meer, mede dankzij een serie innovatieve, optionele features, zoals LED-koplampen, Dynamic Damper Control, BMW Head-Up Display en het BMW Driving Assistant Plus systeem. Eind oktober staat de nieuwe BMW X1 in de showroom, prijzen worden later deze zomer bekendgemaakt.

Kenmerkende BMW X designtaal.
Dankzij stoere proporties, een krachtig voorkomen en dynamische lijnen maakt de nieuwe BMW X1 indruk en krijgt hij meer status als het jongste lid van de BMW X familie. Hij is hoger dan zijn voorganger (+53 mm), waardoor het interieur ruimer is. Ook de zitpositie voor- en achterin is significant hoger en dat biedt de bestuurder meer overzicht op het verkeer. Voor de knieën is er achterin 37 millimeter meer ruimte. Bij de versie met verschuifbare achterbank (optie) bedraagt de beenruimte achterin maximaal 66 millimeter. De bagageruimte meet nu 505 liter, ofwel 85 liter meer dan bij de huidige BMW X1. Met neergeklapte achterbank groeit de laadruimte tot 1.550 liter. De veelzijdigheid en praktische bruikbaarheid van de BMW X1 nemen verder toe dankzij de verstelbare achterbankleuning en neerklapbare rugleuning van de bijrijdersstoel. Tot de standaarduitrusting behoren onder meer airconditioning, audio met USB- en AUX-aansluitingen, iDrive bedieningssysteem en een vrijstaand 6,5 inch display. Er is keuze uit de uitvoeringen Model Essential, Model Sport Line en Model xLine . Per november 2015 is ook het Model M Sport leverbaar.

Nieuwe motoren, efficiëntere BMW xDrive vierwielaandrijving. X1 sDrive18d met 20 procent bijtelling in 2015.
De nieuwe BMW X1 wordt geleverd met de nieuwe generatie viercilinders. Direct vanaf de marktintroductie in oktober is er keuze uit twee benzine- en twee dieselversies. De motoren leveren vermogens van 110 kW (150 pk) tot 170 kW (231 pk) en verbruiken gemiddeld 4,1 tot 6,4 l/100 km. Dat komt overeen met CO2-emissies van 109 tot 149 g/km. De laagste uitstoot realiseert de X1 sDrive18d met handbak (109 g/km). Zodoende valt deze combinatie in 2015 nog in de categorie van 20 procent bijtelling. De motoren zijn gekoppeld aan een handgeschakelde zesversnellingsbak of een 8-traps Steptronic automaat, die beide nieuw zijn ontwikkeld voor de BMW X1. De xDrive vierwielaandrijving is voor de BMW X1 verder geoptimaliseerd. Het systeem is lichter, compacter en efficiënter en maakt gebruik van een elektro-hydraulisch aangestuurde meerplatenkoppeling om de aandrijfkracht tussen de voor- en achterwielen te verdelen. De BMW X1 sDrive20i en de BMW X1 sDrive18d hebben voorwielaandrijving en bieden de kenmerkende BMW rijdynamiek, zoals al is gebleken bij de voorwielaangedreven BMW 2 Serie Active Tourer en BMW 2 Serie Gran Tourer.

Primeur in de BMW X1: Head-Up Display en Driving Assistant Plus.
Ook op het gebied van connectiviteit biedt de nieuwe BMW X1 aanzienlijk meer dan het huidige model. BMW ConnectedDrive is verkrijgbaar met features als BMW Head-Up Display, dat net als bij de grotere BMW modellen elementaire rij-informatie in het blikveld van de bestuurder op de voorruit projecteert. Ook Driving Assistant Plus is leverbaar als onderdeel van Active Cruise Control met Stop & Go. Andere nieuwe features zijn Lane Departure Warning, Traffic Jam Assistant, Collision Warning en Pedestrian Warning met City Braking function. Daarnaast zijn nu ook talrijke apps beschikbaar om comfort, navigatiemogelijkheden en infotainment naar eigen wens in te kleuren.

Munich. The BMW X1 is known as a pioneer and global market leader in the premium Sports Activity Vehicle and SUV segment – it is a prime example of sheer driving pleasure, bold design and premium character that is unrivalled in its class. In the spring of 2014, the compact BMW X is raising the standard for this segment even higher with eye-catching exterior accents, a more refined interior ambience and innovative equipment features. The stylish and bold air intake vents in the front apron underline the sporty and powerful look of the BMW X1. Standard equipment now also includes daytime driving lights. Also new for this model are the attractively styled 17-inch light-alloy wheels with V-spoke design. Sparkling Brown metallic has also been added to the range of exterior paint finishes available for the BMW X1.

When ordered with the BMW xLine, BMW Sport Line or the M Sport package, the surface of the instrument cluster visor is covered with soft-touch material highlighted by lapfolded seams to add to the premium elegance. The optional interior trims also embellish the interior with a choice of exclusive accents in high-gloss Black, matt Coral Red or pearl-gloss Chrome. The stainless steel sill finisher protecting the bottom tailgate edge is another refinement that distinguishes the BMW X1.

The expanded range of BMW ConnectedDrive services available in the spring of 2014 will enable the BMW X1 to strengthen its pioneering role in terms of intelligent connectivity in its vehicle segment. When ordered with a navigation system and the Connected Drive Services option, a steadily growing range of mobility services are available – owners can subscribe to them at any time, even after the vehicle purchase. The innovative functions can be integrated in the car’s operating system via apps, using the smartphone or the SIM card that is installed in the vehicle. The selected apps will be compatible with the Apple iPhone and with smartphones that run the Android operating system. Among the new services offered for the BMW X1 are Online Entertainment and the ECO PRO Analyser.

Rijswijk. De eerste indruk is bepalend. Dat geldt zonder meer voor de nieuwe speciale uitvoeringen van BMW: de 1 Serie Business Sport en de BMW X1 en X3 Chrome Line Edition. Modellen met onderscheidende uitstraling dankzij een uitgebreid pakket opties voor een aantrekkelijke meerprijs. Het voordeel loopt op tot ruim 50%. De speciale uitvoeringen zijn bestelbaar tot en met 30 juni en zolang de voorraad strekt.

De BMW 1 Serie Business Sport dankt zijn uitdagende voorkomen aan extra’s als Xenon koplampen en een Sport Line aankleding. Deze versies van de BMW 1 Serie zijn verder voorzien van een met leder bekleed sportstuur, een midden-armsteun voor, mistlampen voor, Cruise Control met Active Braking (remfunctie) en het navigatiesysteem Business met uitgebreid instrumentencluster.  De individuele opties vertegenwoordigen een waarde van € 5.399,-, maar voor het Business Sport-pakket geldt een meerprijs van € 2.595,-, een voordeel van 52%. Het pakket is leverbaar voor alle versies van de BMW 1 Serie, met uitzondering van de BMW 125i, BMW 125d en BMW M135i.

In totaal zijn er maar liefst negen motorvarianten van zowel de BMW 1 Serie (3-deurs als 5-deurs) die voldoen aan de verlaagde 20% bijtellingsnorm.

Chrome Line Edition
Het Chrome Line Edition-pakket dat op een groot aantal versies van de BMW X1 en X3 leverbaar is, biedt een aantal sportieve en comfortverhogende extra’s. Door het chique Chrome Line-exterieur (X1) of het Individual Exterieur Line (X3) zijn de specials echte blikvangers. Ook zijn beide modellen uitgerust met zijdeglanzend aluminium dakrails, Xenon koplampen en een sportstuurwiel. Tot de uitrusting behoort verder een links en rechts gescheiden automatische airconditioning en het navigatiesysteem Business.

De BMW X1 biedt verder Cruise Control met Active Braking (standaard op de BMW X3) en een middenarmsteun, en de BMW X3 Chrome Line Edition wordt standaard geleverd met een alarmsysteem klasse 3. Bovendien zijn de X1 en de X3 in deze uitvoeringen standaard voorzien van een 8-traps automatische transmissie.

De individuele opties vertegenwoordigen voor de BMW X1 een waarde van € 6.156,-, maar het Chrome Line Edition-pakket komt op een meerprijs van € 2.995,-, een voordeel van 51%. Voor de BMW X3 bedraagt het voordeel 59%. De opties hebben een waarde van € 8.795,-, maar het Chrome Line Edition-pakket komt op een prijs van € 3.595,-.

With the services of the all-wheel-drive system BMW xDrive to call on, it is perfectly equipped to offer assured driving pleasure on snow. The outstanding agility of the compact BMW X model and the superior traction of its intelligent xDrive all-wheel-drive system make it the ideal choice of transport to the ski slopes. And now a concept car based on the BMW X1 and a special-edition model are set to highlight the brand’s close connection to winter sport.

The world premiere of the BMW Concept K2 Powder Ride at the Los Angeles Auto Show (30 November – 9 December 2012) acts as a clear pointer to imminent high-speed action on the slopes. The presentation comes just a few weeks after the unveiling of the new BMW X1 Edition Powder Ride in time for the start of the winter sport season. The exclusive equipment features of this special-edition model represent a detailed response to the needs of a target group who get their sporting kicks on snow-covered pistes.

Providing limitless fun on and off piste:
the BMW Concept K2 Powder Ride.

Youthful, sporting design and lifestyle-oriented functionality shape the face of the BMW Concept K2 Powder Ride. The concept car is the result of a three-year cooperation between BMW and winter sport equipment supplier K2. It embodies both the agile and surefooted driving characteristics of the BMW X1 – even, thanks to BMW xDrive, under challenging conditions – and the intense thrill of winter sport. The BMW Concept K2 Powder Ride blends bespoke exterior features with an exclusive roof structure and refined additions to interior details. Valencia Orange metallic paintwork is complemented by a distinctive graphic whose design takes its cues from a limited-edition K2 ski. A central element of this crossover graphic is the stylised image of a fox, which forges ahead of a dynamically penned X from the rear of the car to the front doors.

The exterior design of the BMW Concept K2 Powder Ride backs up this energy-laden graphic with a sprinkling of other distinctive characteristics which accentuate the sporting instincts of the compact BMW X model to impressive effect. An extra eight millimetres of suspension travel over the standard model and 19-inch light-alloy wheels in Ferric Grey with polished spokes exude a feeling of power and presence. The Ferric Grey trim of the front and rear sills and side skirts emphasise the car’s uncontained forward momentum over snow and loose ground. Dark tinted side windows with matt Black surrounds and the roof rails – likewise painted matt Black – form an appealing contrast to the rich colours of the body surfaces.

Roof structure with innovative ski holder and powerful Harman Kardon hi-fi sound fuel the piste party.

The unique roof structure specially developed for the concept car is made from milled aluminium. Its broad functionality is reflected in an asymmetric structure: two luggage boxes and a ski carrier are positioned alongside one another. The ski carrier, which can be found on the front passenger side of the car, has an innovative retaining mechanism, while the skis are held at an angle to make their distinctive surface design particularly visible. Designed exclusively for the
BMW Concept K2 Powder Ride, the skis also feature the fox graphic, as well as a colour scheme inspired by wood, brushed aluminium and carbon surfaces. Its White and Valencia Orange running surfaces display the brand logos of BMW and K2 on either side of a broadly spread X.

A sound system from Harman Kardon is installed in the two luggage boxes on the driver’s side. High-end hi-fi systems from the specialist brand also provide an extremely dynamic audio experience in standard series-produced BMW models. The two-way loudspeakers installed in the BMW Concept K2 Powder Ride generate output of 320 watts and turn the cars into a powerful sound stage for après ski fun with a difference at the end of the valley run. A Class D amplifier with 2 x 550-watt output, a 500-watt subwoofer and a high-quality microphone from AKG are also on hand for those spontaneous parties in the snow. And the transparent sounds can be complemented by visual effects, for good measure. The luggage boxes can be illuminated in Blue and Orange, as desired, and three LED spotlights are integrated into the front edge of the roof structure.

The sporting characteristics and exclusive style of the BMW Concept K2 Powder Ride are also underlined by bespoke interior design. Black Nappa leather with orange-coloured contrast stitching for the seats and door trim and interior trim strips in exquisite Fineline Bay wood trim conjure up an ambience imbued with quality and individual sophistication. In keeping with the theme, and as a mirror image of the exterior’s contrasting effects, the black floor mats have reflective piping and orange-coloured accents.

Exclusive equipment, limited edition: BMW X1 Edition Powder Ride.

The creative meeting of minds between BMW and K2 has inspired both the concept car revealed in Los Angeles and a limited-run special-edition variant of the new BMW X1. The BMW X1 Edition Powder Ride, due to arrive in November 2012, boasts exclusive design and equipment features along with xDrive intelligent all-wheel drive. It will be available this winter only.

The BMW X1 Edition Powder Ride makes an excellent advert for the cooperation BMW has fostered not only with ski manufacturer K2 but also with a number of illustrious front-line winter sport resorts. The special-edition variant of the compact BMW X model is therefore also a fine choice of vehicle for trips to the world’s most attractive ski and snowboarding destinations. The special-edition model features the xLine, roof rails in Aluminium satinated trim and a storage package, including a front armrest. The perfect range of winter accessories comes as standard for the first time, with the special-edition model featuring the 460 roof box (incl. BMW base support system), a ski and snowboard bag sporting a design specifically created for this model, all-weather floor mats and a fitted luggage compartment mat. And there’s another highlight lined up: anyone who purchases this special-edition model will receive a high-quality, exclusively designed pair of K2 LTD Powder Ride skis, available only in conjunction with the X1 Edition Powder Ride.

The BMW X1 Edition Powder Ride comes with the full selection of BMW xLine design and equipment features. BMW xLine includes exterior elements in matt Glacier Silver, special 18" light-alloy wheels and door sill strips, a sports leather steering wheel with multifunction buttons, fabric/leather upholstery for the seats, trim strips in dark copper, and ambient lighting.

The BMW X1 Edition Powder Ride can be ordered in the non-metallic paint shades Black and Alpine White, as well as in Valencia Orange, Mineral White, Mineral Grey, Glacier Silver and Black Sapphire metallic finishes. Also contributing to the unmistakable look is a special decal on the doors and wheel arches of the compact BMW X model. The X-shaped graphic borrows the BMW K2 Powder Ride Concept’s motif, which symbolises the smart and agile character of the BMW X1.

The exclusive design of the BMW X1 Edition Powder Ride and the skis that come included ensure winter sport fans stand out from the crowd on both road and piste. This individual look expresses the thrill of the drive (or ride), sporting enthusiasm, lifestyle and sense for premium quality in equal depth. The market launch of the BMW X1 Edition Powder Ride is scheduled for November 2012 and the special-edition model will be available in BMW X1 xDrive20i, BMW X1 xDrive28i, BMW X1 xDrive18d, BMW X1 xDrive20d and BMW X1 xDrive25d guise. The Edition Powder Ride upgrade is priced at €3,450.00 (in Germany).

The orange, white and black illustration can also be found on the side surfaces of the roof box and on the exclusively designed skis. The graphic was specially designed by BMW Group DesignworksUSA for the concept car, BMW X1 special-edition model and K2 LTD BMW Powder Ride Ski range of winter sports equipment. With dynamic lines and colour blending, richly contrasting accents and the X form displayed on both car and skis, this design creates an effective visual connection between the hallmark properties of the BMW X1 and K2 skis. This association is also conveyed by the K2 LTD BMW Powder Ride Ski, whose surface design combines the fox motif with X-shaped lines and the BMW and K2 brand logos. A tyre track graphic on the ski’s running surfaces is another reminder of the link-up with the BMW X1.

München/Rijswijk.  BMW tilt de X1 op alle fronten naar een nog hoogwaardiger niveau. Het design sluit nu meer aan op dat van de BMW X3 en X5. Bovendien kan nu gekozen worden voor verschillende design Lines: xLine, Sport Line en M Sport. Op technisch gebied zijn er twee nieuwe dieselmotoren: de BMW X1 sDrive16d en X1 xDrive25d. Nieuw is ook de handgeschakelde zesversnellingsbak met dry sump-smering voor nog meer efficiency en de optionele achttrapsautomaat. De standaarduitvoering wordt daarnaast uitgebreid met USB-aansluiting en bluetooth telefoonvoorbereiding. Een uitbreiding die overigens voor alle BMW modellen vanaf 1 juli a.s. van toepassing is.

Met de X1 heeft BMW succesvol de kenmerken van de BMW X-modellen in het segment van de compacte SUV’s geïntroduceerd. Met nieuwe motoren breidt BMW de voorsprong van de BMW X1 op het gebied van sportiviteit en efficiency verder uit. Daarmee groeit het gamma tot twee benzine- en vijf dieselversies, in vermogen variërend van 85 kW (116 pk) van de nieuwe X1 sDrive16d tot 180 kW (245 pk) van de X1 xDrive28i. BMW EfficientDynamics technologie kan nu in alle varianten zorgen voor een zo laag mogelijk brandstofverbruik met bijvoorbeeld Auto Start-Stop en ECO PRO functie. Met de optionele ECO PRO mode van BMW kan de bestuurder zelf kiezen voor een op efficiency dan wel een meer op sportiviteit gerichte afstemming van de auto.

Met 160 kW (218 pk) is de 2,0-liter dieselmotor in de nieuwe versie BMW X1 xDrive25d de sterkste van de nieuwe generatie viercilinder dieselmotoren. Mede dankzij BMW TwinPower Turbo-technologie verbruikt hij slechts 5,9 l/100 km. De motor in de BMW X1 sDrive16d, eveneens met een inhoud van 2,0-liter, maakt gebruik van dezelfde techniek en heeft met 85 kW (116 pk) een verbruik van slechts 4,9 l/100 km.

Het aanbod benzinemotoren begint in Nederland met de 2,0-liter viercilinder in de BMW X1 sDrive20i. Mede dankzij TwinPower Turbo techniek, VALVETRONIC variabele kleptiming en variabele nokkenas (dubbel VANOS) levert deze motor 135 kW (184 pk) bij een verbruik van slechts 7,6 l/100 km.

Voor de X1 heeft BMW een nieuwe handgeschakelde zesversnellingsbak ontwikkeld met dry sump-smering voor nog meer efficiency. Voor optimaal comfort is een automatische achttrapstransmissie leverbaar, uniek in het segment. Dankzij alle maatregelen konden het verbruik en de CO2-emissie van alle modellen gereduceerd worden met tot wel 15 g CO2/km voor de BMW X1 xDrive28i.

Persoonlijke touch: BMW Lines

Kopers kunnen de nieuwe generatie BMW X1 nu ook individualiseren met BMW Lines. De BMW xLine bestaat uit side skirts, titaniumzilverkleurige spijlen in de grille en exclusieve aluminium18-inch wielen. De bestuurder heeft de beschikking over onder meer een met leder bekleed, multifunctioneel sportstuur, Ambient Lighting en instaplijsten met daarop 'BMW xLine'. De BMW Sports Line benadrukt het sportieve karakter van de X1 door in zwart chroom uitgevoerde uitlaateindstukken, aluminium 17- of 18-inchwielen en diverse carrosserie-elementen uitgevoerd in glanzend zwart. Het interieur is voorzien van sportstoelen, een sportstuur en een sportversnellingspook en eveneens Ambient Lighting. De BMW Lines zijn met diverse opties nog verder op de individuele smaak af te stemmen.

De uitrusting van de BMW X1 is standaard zeer compleet met onder andere USB-aansluiting, bluetooth telefoonvoorbereiding, verwarmbare buitenspiegels, mistlampen, een boordcomputer en een soundsystem met vijf luidsprekers. Eerstgenoemde zaken zijn voortaan standaard i.v.m. de verhoogde veiligheid en het feit dat steeds meer muziek als MP3 wordt beluisterd. BMW iDrive, een Harman Kardon Surround Sound System, Xenon lichtpakket met LED achterlichten en een panoramisch dak zijn daarnaast enkele van de vele uitrustingsopties die voor de BMW X1 beschikbaar zijn.

De nieuwe generatie BMW X1 staat vanaf deze zomer bij de dealers.

München/Rijswijk. BMW presenteert de vernieuwde BMW X1. Met detailaanpassingen aan design en toepassing van de nieuwste techniek in de vorm van twee krachtige TwinPower Turbomotoren en achttraps automatische transmissie, is de pionier van het premium compact segment klaar voor een belangrijke nieuwe stap in zijn carrière. Drie jaar na zijn marktintroductie in Europa, maakt de succesvolle mix van sportieve SAV (Sports Activity Vehicle) en elegante Touring nu bovendien de oversteek naar de VS.

De facelift brengt de kwaliteitsbeleving van de BMW X1 naar een nog hoger niveau. Uiterlijk is de BMW X1 dichter naar het design van de BMW X3 en BMW X5 toegegroeid. Aan de voorkant wordt de krachtige uitstraling van de vernieuwde BMW X1 geaccentueerd met een groter aantal in carrosseriekleur uitgevoerde delen. Daarnaast zorgen nieuw ontworpen koplampen voor een kenmerkende premiumuitstraling. Voor een ‘geconcentreerdere blik’ dekt een chroom-gecoate accentstrip de dubbele ronde koplampen af. Nieuw zijn bovendien de LED-accentverlichting - als onderdeel van het optionele Xenon lichtpakket – en de richtingaanwijzers die nu geïntegreerd zijn in nieuw ontworpen compactere buitenspiegels.

De premium uitstraling van de nieuwe BMW X1 wordt ook aan de achterzijde extra onderstreept door de nieuwe indeling van de verder in carrosseriekleur uitgevoerde bumper. De zwarte kunststof elementen zijn smaller uitgevoerd, terwijl de zilverkleurige bodembeschermingplaat een opvallendere structuur heeft gekregen.

In het interieur zijn de gebruikte materialen nieuw en is bovendien de naar de bestuurder gerichte middenconsole aangepast. Dit om de oriëntatie op de bestuurder verder te benadrukken. Op diverse plaatsen zijn chroomaccenten toegepast.

De BMW X1 biedt de klant als enige X-model de keuze tussen achterwiel- en vierwielaandrijving. Gecombineerd met de voordelen van de verhoogde zitpositie, het praktische interieur, een sportief weggedrag en efficiënte motoren heeft de BMW X1 een eigen plek in de markt veroverd.

De typegoedkeuring als Touring heeft de auto bovendien tot een interessant zakelijk alternatief gemaakt voor de leaserijder.

In september debuteert de nieuwe BMW X1 in de VS als BMW X1sDrive28i en als xDrive35i, beide standaard voorzien van achttraps automatische transmissie. Over de motoren in Europa volgt binnenkort meer informatie.

München/Rijswijk. BMW introduceert de nieuwe BMW X1 sDrive20i met nieuwe 2 liter TwinPower Turbo motor. Met groen energielabel en 135 kW (184 pk) vormt dit model een sterke nieuwe basis voor de BMW X1. Het model is per september leverbaar voor 37.970 euro. Daarnaast doet de BMW X1 sDrive20d EfficientDynamics Edition zijn intrede met een lagere CO2-uitstoot van 119 g/km en een prijs van 39.970 euro. Om de positie van de X1 verder te versterken wordt bij de introductie van deze nieuwe modellen bovendien de standaarduitvoering verder uitgebreid, analoog aan de complete standaarduitrusting van de nieuwe BMW 1 Serie.

Zo zal de BMW X1 voor Nederland per september standaard worden voorzien van met leder bekleed multifunctioneel stuurwiel, radio BMW Professional, bluetooth telefoonvoorbereiding en USB-aansluiting. Daarnaast wordt – net als bij de nieuwe BMW 1 Serie - een attractieve Business versie aan het gamma toegevoegd. Het pakket biedt naast een sportstuurwiel, middenarmsteun, cruise control en Business navigatiesysteem met iDrive ook volautomatische airconditioning en snap-in adapter voor mobiele telefoon.

Ruim anderhalf jaar na de introductie zijn er in Nederland al meer 2.700 exemplaren verkocht. Daarmee is de X1 het best verkopende BMW model na de 1, 3 en 5 Serie. Dat de BMW X1 een typegoedkeuring verkreeg als stationwagon, heeft zeker bijgedragen aan deze positie zeker ook in de zakelijke (lease-) markt. Met de nieuwe X1 sDrive20i introduceert BMW opnieuw een voor deze markt interessant en groen gelabeld model. De efficiënte BMW X1 sDrive20d EfficientDynamics Edition zorgt zelfs voor een groen B label in de dieselrange.

BMW X1 sDrive20i met TwinPower Turbo
De nieuwe BMW X1 sDrive20i met TwinPower Turbo motor zorgt met zijn 135 kW (184 pk) en 270 Nm koppel voor sportieve prestaties. De topsnelheid is 220 km/h en de sprint naar 100 km/h wordt in 7,4 seconden voltooid. De CO2-uitstoot blijft daarbij met gemiddeld 165 g/km beperkt zodat zowel de handbak als de automaat over een groen C-label beschikken. De X1 sDrive20i TwinPower Turbo wordt leverbaar vanaf 37.970 euro. Tevens wordt er een BMW X1 xDrive20i leverbaar met vierwielaandrijving. De BMW X1 sDrive18i wordt uit het gamma genomen.

BMW X1 20d EfficientDynamics Edition
Bij de diesel modellen wordt de BMW X1 sDrive20d EfficientDynamics Edition, met een uitstoot van 119 gram aan het gamma toegevoegd. Voor een aantal internationale bedrijven die 120 gram als grens aanhouden kan deze versie juist in het wagenpark vallen. Bovendien helpt deze lage uitstoot in de prijsstelling: 39.970 euro. De X1 sDrive20d EfficientDynamics Edition wordt alleen met handgeschakelde versnellingsbak geleverd en is optioneel uit te rusten met een trekhaak.

Successor to 5 Series long wheelbase will launch in autumn

Company expands production capacity in China

Munich/Beijing. The BMW Group will also produce its X1 Sports Activity Vehicle in China in the future. “The BMW X1 could be one of the first products for our new plant in Tiexi in the Shenyang region. We are currently exploring this possibility together with the authorities here in China,” said Chairman of the Board of Management of BMW AG Norbert Reithofer in Beijing on Wednesday. The facility currently builds BMW 3 Series and BMW 5 Series models for the Chinese market.

Following the launch of the new 5 Series, a successor to the 5 Series Long Wheelbase version will also be produced and sold only in China. Production of the new vehicle will begin in autumn of this year. The Long Wheelbase version of the 5 Series has proved extremely successfully in China, with more than 70,000 vehicles sold since 2006.

In light of the promising opportunities for growth, the BMW Group will continue to expand its presence and its purchasing activities in China over the coming years. “We are confident that this market will continue to see strong growth over the next few years. Our goal is to participate in that growth over the long term,” Reithofer explained. “With our new plant in Tiexi, we will be increasing our production capacity in China to 100,000 vehicles a year from 2012 on. Over the long term, we anticipate the two plants having combined potential for as many as 300,000 vehicles a year – depending on market trends. We may realistically need this potential over the long term”.

The BMW Group announced that it would build a second production plant in China in November 2009. The investment volume for the new plant amounts to a total of 560 million euros; the BMW Group and its partner, Brilliance, will each defray half of this amount. Construction work is scheduled to begin in early June 2010, with the start of production slated for 2012. The expanded capacity in Shenyang will create a total of around 1,000 new jobs. 600 new employees have already been hired and are currently being prepared for their roles.

China is currently the BMW Group’s fourth largest market worldwide. Last year the BMW Group sold more than 90,000 vehicles in mainland China. In the first quarter of 2010, the company increased deliveries by 106% to reach a total of 34,179 vehicles. “China is, and will remain, one of the most attractive automobile markets in the world,” added Reithofer. In 2002 – before the plant in Shenyang was built and opened in 2003 – the BMW Group’s retail volume in mainland China was just under 6,700 vehicles.

According to the German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA), a total of around 478,000 premium automobiles were sold in China last year. The Association estimates that the market for premium vehicles in China will grow to more than 1.5 million units a year by 2020.

Resource-efficient production plays an important part in the BMW Group’s sustainability strategy and at the Shenyang location also. Through rigorous optimisation of its production processes, the existing plant in Da Dong reduced energy consumption and carbon dioxide emissions alone by 12 percent and water consumption by as much as 40 percent between 2008 and 2009.

Rijswijk. Plezier heeft de toekomst. BMW Group Nederland biedt kinderen (6 tot 12 jaar) de kans om op het hoofdkantoor in Rijswijk mee te bouwen aan een levensgrote LEGO®-variant van de BMW X1. Gedurende de meivakantie, op 4, 6, 7 en 8 mei, mogen de kleine monteurs een (paar) steentje(s) bijdragen aan dit bouwevenement.

Over enkele weken liggen in het pand van BMW Group Nederland in Rijswijk ruim 165.000 LEGO®-bouwsteentjes voor de constructie van de levensgrote BMW X1. Onder begeleiding van een officieel LEGO®-team en de ouders, die kennis mogen maken met de echte BMW X1, mogen de toekomstige BMW monteurs naar hartenlust bouwen. Ook aan de thuisblijvers wordt gedacht, via de website kan het bouwproces worden gevolgd. Verder zijn er voor de jonge constructeurs aparte ‘Building Corners’, waar zij zelfstandig met de vele gekleurde bouwsteentjes creatief in de weer kunnen.

Speciaal voor BMW Group Nederland is ’s werelds grootste LEGO®-bouwpakket van een BMW X1 – de inspiratiebron voor het bouwevenement – overgevlogen van München naar Nederland. Een primeur, want Nederland is het eerste land waar de LEGO®-X1 naartoe gaat als kick-off voor de wereldtournee die de LEGO®-variant van de BMW X1 te wachten staat. Rijswijk. De nieuwe BMW X1 zet maatstaven in het premium compact segment. Unieke verhoudingen (crossover tussen SUV en Touring) zorgen voor veel binnenruimte, een makkelijke instap en optimaal zicht op de weg. Een scherpe prijsstelling vanaf 34.950 euro zorgt ervoor dat dit rijplezier bereikbaar is. De Europese typegoedkeuring in de categorie Sedan/Touring maakt de BMW X1 bovendien een interessant alternatief voor leaserijders. BMW Financial Services kan de BMW X1 aanbieden vanaf 749 euro per maand*. Uitgebreide standaarduitrusting

BMW presenteert de nieuwe BMW X1. Een mix van een sportieve SAV (Sports Activity Vehicle) en een elegante Touring. Daarom komt de auto ook in aanmerking voor een Europese Type goedkeuring in de categorie “Touring/Sedan”. Daarnaast is dit het eerste X-model dat met achterwielaandrijving geleverd kan worden. Dit samen met de voordelen van de verhoogde zitpositie, het praktische interieur, het dynamische weggedrag en de efficiënte motoren maakt de BMW X1 ook tot interessant zakelijk alternatief voor de leaserijder. De BMW X1 wordt leverbaar met drie dieselmotoren (18d, 20d en 23d) en twee benzinemotoren (18i en 28i). De eerste modellen van deze nieuwe BMW zullen in oktober bij de dealers staan.

Maatvoering: tussen BMW 1 Serie en 3 Serie Touring

De BMW X1 sluit aan bij de andere X modellen door zijn hoge zitpositie en stoere uiterlijk. Door een uitgekiende vormgeving is de luchtweerstand opvallend laag met een waarde van 0,32 Cw. Met zijn lengte van 4,45 m is de BMW X1 maar liefst 21 cm langer dan de 1 Serie hatchback maar tegelijkertijd slechts 7 cm korter dan een 3 Serie Touring. De hoogte van de auto is met 1,67 m maar liefst 12,5 cm hoger dan bij genoemde 3 Serie Touring maar tegelijkertijd bijna 13 cm lager dan bij een BMW X3. Deze maatvoering laat goed zien dat BMW met de X1 een nieuwe plek heeft gevonden tussen de bestaande zakenauto’s. De grote wielbasis van 2,76 m zorgt bovendien voor een verrassend ruim en veelzijdig interieur in vergelijking met andere auto’s in het segment.

Praktisch interieur

Het veelzijdige interieur blijkt ook uit de in drie delen (verhouding 40-20-40) neerklapbare achterbank. Met alleen het middendeel omgeklapt passen lange voorwerpen eenvoudig in de auto. Zijn alle zittingen neergeklapt dan groeit de bagageruimte van 420 liter naar 1.350 liter. De rugleuning van de achterbank is bovendien 31 graden kantelbaar. Met de leuning in de meest verticale positie bedraagt het laadvolume 490 liter.

Groene energielabels

De EfficientDynamics-aanpak bewijst andermaal zijn kracht. De BMW X1 sDrive18d en 20d  zijn de eerste in hun klasse met een CO2-uitstoot onder de 140 g/kilometer. Het gemiddeld verbruik van deze auto’s komt uit op 5,2 l/100 km voor de sDrive18d en 5,3 l/100 km voor de sDrive20d. In Nederland is dat beide goed voor een groen energielabel B. De xDrive-varianten van deze diesels halen energielabel C. De handgeschakelde versies van de BMW X1 hebben een Auto Start Stop functie met een schakelindicator. Bij alle uitvoeringen wordt remenergie geregenereerd om de accu op te laden en om stroom aan het boordnet te leveren.

Breed motorenpallet

Bij de introductie in oktober zal de BMW X1 xDrive28i de rol van topmodel op zich nemen. De hoogst moderne zescilinder-in-lijn met 3,0-liter inhoud, variabele kleptiming VALVETRONIC en dubbele VANOS nokkenasverstelling levert 190 kW/258 pk vermogen. De viercilinder dieselversies BMW X1 xDrive23d, xDrive20d en xDrive18d leveren respectievelijk 105 kW/204 pk, 130 kW/177 pk en 105 kW/143 pk. Laatstgenoemde twee versies zullen ook leverbaar zijn met sDrive achterwielaandrijving. In het voorjaar van 2010 volgen dan nog een X1 sDrive18i en xDrive 18i. De 28i en 23d hebben standaard een zestrapsautomaat met Steptronic. De andere versies van de BMW X1 hebben een handgeschakelde zesversnellingsbak.

Complete standaarduitrusting

De BMW X1 is standaard voorzien van onder meer airconditioning, 17 inch lichtmetalen wielen, hoofdairbags, driepuntsgordels op alle zitplaatsen en Adaptive Brake Lights die extra waarschuwen bij een noodstop. Ook zijn er talrijke opties om de standaarduitrusting verder aan te vullen. Opvallende zaken zijn onder meer de Adaptive Headlights - in bochten meedraaiende koplampen - een elektrisch bedienbaar panoramadak en een harman/kardon Surround Sound System. Optioneel is ook een Business of Professional navigatiesysteem met een in de console geïntegreerd display en nieuwste generatie iDrive.
