München. De Beierse premium autofabrikant BMW heeft een innovatieve merkcampagne bedacht om de aandacht van het internationaal publiek te vestigen op het huidige modellenaanbod van het merk in het luxesegment. De zeer exclusieve modellen BMW 7 Serie, BMW 8 Serie, BMW X7 en BMW XM worden gepresenteerd als meesterwerken van design en techniek te midden van adembenemende landschappen. De indrukwekkende beelden stralen een boodschap van exclusiviteit uit met een vooruitstrevende smaak die alle menselijke zintuigen op een genuanceerde manier aanspreekt, onze intellectuele perspectieven weerspiegelt en ons zinvolle ervaringen biedt.

De nieuwe multi-channel campagne is gelanceerd op de sociale mediakanalen YouTube en Instagram. Aanvullende landspecifieke inhoud zoals Out-of-Home reclame, printreclame en tv-commercials volgt op een later moment. De multi-channel campagne begint in de Verenigde Staten en wordt gevolgd door Duitsland, China, Groot-Brittannië, Japan, Zuid-Korea, Tsjechië, Polen en het Midden-Oosten vanaf september 2024.

“De kern van de nieuwe merkcampagne zijn de compromisloze prestaties, verfijning en onnavolgbare stijl van onze meest exclusieve modellen”, zegt Bernd Körber, Senior Vice President BMW Brand Management and Product Management. “De beelden die in de campagne zijn gebruikt, nodigen de kijker uit om de tomeloze passie voor design, vakmanschap en innovatieve technologie te ervaren die onlosmakelijk verbonden is aan elke BMW.”

De nieuwe merkcampagne gaat van start op het YouTube-kanaal van BMW met een emotioneel boeiende clip waarin de BMW i7 centraal staat. In de 60 seconden durende film met de titel 'Lifelines' schittert het topmodel in de serie van volledig elektrische auto's als belichaming van een exclusieve en ook vooruitstrevende kijk op Sheer Driving Pleasure, het handelsmerk van het merk. Begeleid door een virtuoos muzieknummer rijdt de auto langs een hoogvlakte door een landschap dat baadt in sfeervol licht. Hier wordt de BMW i7 gepresenteerd als een auto voor individualisten die de toekomst vol vertrouwen en op hun eigen voorwaarden tegemoet gaan en hun eigen lot in eigen hand nemen.

De campagnebeelden tonen ook het silhouet van een BMW 8 Serie Coupé voor de dynamisch gebogen contouren van een rotsachtig landschap, de BMW X7 aan de voet van een hoge bergketen met besneeuwde bergtoppen en de BMW XM op een stuk strand met stormachtige winden en dramatisch brekende golven. Deze krachtige beelden worden vervolgens vergezeld door de bedrijfsnaam: “Bayerische Motoren Werke” dat volledig is uitgeschreven.

Dit benadrukt het unieke karakter van het merk, zijn oorsprong en zijn meer dan 100 jaar rijke geschiedenis. Tegelijkertijd geeft dit — naast exclusiviteit en elegantie — ook blijk van het vertrouwen van een bedrijf dat in de loop van zijn geschiedenis herhaaldelijk blijvend succes heeft geboekt met oplossingen die in eigen beheer zijn ontwikkeld. Deze aanpak heeft geleid tot een echte mate van identificatie met zijn producten in het luxesegment.

Rijswijk. Toevoegingen aan het modelgamma en het optieaanbod zullen vanaf het voorjaar van 2024 de aantrekkingskracht en diversiteit van het BMW portfolio verder vergroten. De BMW i5 eDrive40 Sedan is per direct beschikbaar als M Sport Edition. De volledig elektrische modellen BMW i5 Sedan en BMW iX2 zijn vanaf maart 2024 elk verkrijgbaar met een nieuwe aandrijflijn. Het aanbod van aandrijflijnen voor de reguliere BMW X2 en de BMW XM is ook uitgebreid. Nieuwe exterieurkleuren voor de BMW 5 Serie Sedan, BMW X2 en BMW iX2. Bij de nieuwe BMW 5 Serie wordt het aanbod van de interieurbekledingen verder uitgebreid.

In het voorjaar van 2024 zullen nieuwe functies worden geïntroduceerd op het gebied van digitale diensten. Deze omvatten een eenvoudiger gebruik van de spraakassistent Siri (als onderdeel van de integratie van de Apple CarPlay in auto's die zijn gespecificeerd met BMW Operating System 9) en de geoptimaliseerde weergave van beoordelingen voor laadstations voor volledig elektrische en Plug-in Hybride BMW modellen. De gestage uitbreiding van het scala aan functies voor de My BMW App wordt voortgezet in 2024.

BMW i5 eDrive40 Sedan M Sport Edition.
De BMW i5 eDrive40 Sedan is nu leverbaar als M Sport Edition vanaf €77.942, - consumentenadviesprijs. Met de M Sport Edition wordt het krachtige en sportieve design van de BMW i5 Sedan extra benadrukt door het M Sportpakket en een BMW metallic exterieurkleur uit het reguliere aanbod. Ander hoogtepunt is de Driving Assistant Plus die de standaard geleverde Driving Assistant verder uitbreidt met onder andere Active Cruise Control met Stop & Go functie en  Steering & Lane Control Assist.

BMW i5 xDrive40: derde volledig elektrische variant van de zakelijke sedan.
In maart 2024 wordt een derde volledig elektrische variant toegevoegd aan het portfolio van de nieuwe BMW 5 Serie Sedan. De nieuwe BMW i5 xDrive40 Sedan (elektriciteitsverbruik, gecombineerd: 19,8 — 17,2 kWh/100 km in de WLTP-cyclus) heeft een krachtige elektrische motor op de voor- en achteras die samen een systeemvermogen van maximaal 290 kW/394 pk en een maximumkoppel van 590 Nm leveren. Geholpen door BMW xDrive vierwielaandrijving accelereert de BMW i5 xDrive40 Sedan in 5,4 seconden van 0 naar 100 km/u. De topsnelheid bedraagt een elektronisch begrensde snelheid van 215 km/h.

De derde volledig elektrische modelvariant van de nieuwe zakensedan haalt zijn energie uit een hoogspanningsbatterij die laag in de bodem van de auto geïntegreerd is. De batterij heeft 81,2 kWh bruikbare energie. De Combined Charging Unit van de auto maakt AC opladen mogelijk met een snelheid van 11 kW en optioneel 22 kW. Daarnaast is DC opladen mogelijk bij snellaadstations tot een snelheid van maximaal 205 kW. Dit betekent dat de actieradius van de BMW i5 xDrive40 Sedan in tien minuten met 156 kilometer kan worden vergroot. Plug & Charge maakt automatische authenticatie van de auto bij ondersteunende openbare laadpunten mogelijk. De actieradius van de nieuwe BMW i5 xDrive40 Sedan, zoals berekend in de WLTP-cyclus, bedraagt 467 — 538 kilometer.

Voor alle modelvarianten van de nieuwe BMW 5 Serie Sedan zijn vanaf maart 2024 nieuwe exterieurkleuren beschikbaar. Het kleurenspectrum omvat nu ook BMW Individual Frozen Portimao Blau metallic en BMW Individual Malachite Green metallic. Tegelijkertijd zal de zakensedan ook worden aangeboden met uiterst exclusieve speciale BMW Individual Special Request exterieurkleuren. BMW Individual heeft ongeveer 150 opvallende kleuren (unilak, metallic en Frozen) ontwikkeld voor dit model. Alle speciale exterieurkleuren van BMW Individual onderscheiden zich door hun indrukwekkende kleurdiepte en uitzonderlijke glans. Klanten kunnen een overzicht van deze kleuren voor de nieuwe BMW 5 Serie Sedan openen met behulp van de BMW Individual Visualizer, die toegankelijk is via een link in de BMW Configurator op bmw.nl.

Daarnaast zijn er nieuwe interieurbekledingen voor de BMW 5 Serie Sedan beschikbaar vanaf productie maart 2024. De optionele comfortstoelen zijn nu ook te bestellen met BMW Individual Merino lederen bekleding in Dark Violet/Atlas Grau en in Taupe Grau/Atlas Grau.

Nieuwe instapvariant voor de BMW iX2; lancering van de BMW X2 xDrive20d.
Het huidige modeloffensief van BMW op het gebied van elektromobiliteit zorgt ook voor een breed en gevarieerd aanbod in het compacte premiumsegment. Een nieuwe instapvariant van de volledig elektrische BMW iX2 zal in maart 2024 in productie gaan. De nieuwe BMW iX2 eDrive20 (elektriciteitsverbruik, gecombineerd: 16,9 — 15,3 kWh/100 km in de WLTP-cyclus) aangedreven door een elektromotor op de vooras met 150 kW/204 pk, accelereert de iX2 eDrive20 in 8,6 seconden van 0 naar 100 km/u en heeft hij een range van 439 — 478 kilometer (in de WLTP-cyclus). De topsnelheid is elektronisch begrensd op 170 km//h. De hoogvoltage accu in de nieuwe BMW iX2 eDrive20 heeft een netto capaciteit van 64,8 kWh en kan worden opgeladen via driefase AC-opladen met standaard 11 kW en optioneel tot 22 kW. DC-snelladen is mogelijk tot 130 kW. Dankzij uiterst efficiënte laadsoftware en pre-conditioneren zijn korte laadstops voldoende om de acculading aanzienlijk te verhogen. In tien minuten DC snelladen kan de BMW iX2 eDrive20 zijn actieradius met 120 kilometer te vergroten.

Naast de nieuwe instapvariant van de BMW iX2 staat de nieuwe BMW X2 xDrive20d (brandstofverbruik gecombineerd: 5,2 — 4,8 liter/100 km CO2-uitstoot, gecombineerd: 137 — 125 g/km in de WLTP-cyclus). De tweede dieselvariant van de compacte SAC onderscheidt zich door een nog snellere vermogensafgifte en een nog grotere efficiëntie dankzij de milde hybride 48V-technologie. De 2,0-liter viercilindermotor is gekoppeld aan een elektromotor die geïntegreerd is in de zeventraps Steptronic-transmissie met dubbele koppeling. De motor dient als een door een krukas aangedreven startgenerator en kan zowel de belasting van de dieselmotor ontlasten als ermee samenwerken.

De aandrijflijn ontwikkelt een maximaal systeemvermogen van 120 kW/163 pk en een maximum koppel van 400 Nm dat via het intelligente BMW xDrive vierwielaandrijvingssysteem wordt verdeeld voor de beste grip onder alle omstandigheden. Hierdoor accelereert de BMW X2 xDrive20d in 8,6 seconden van 0 naar 100 km/u. De topsnelheid is 207 km/h.

Vanaf maart 2024 zijn alle modelvarianten van de nieuwe BMW X2 en de nieuwe BMW iX2 ook verkrijgbaar met de nieuwe exterieurkleuren Frozen Black en Frozen Pure Red.

BMW XM 50e: hoge prestaties met maximale efficiëntie.
De nieuwe BMW XM 50e (brandstofverbruik, gecombineerd: 1,7 — 1,3 liter/100 km) combineert kenmerkende M dynamiek, extravert design en vooruitstrevende luxe met maximale efficiëntie. De M HYBRID aandrijflijn bestaat uit een zescilinder-in-lijn benzinemotor en een elektromotor die is geïntegreerd in de Steptronic Sporttransmissie met acht versnellingen. Deze combinatie levert een systeemvermogen van 350 kW/476 pk (combinatie van de verbrandingsmotor met maximaal 230 kW/313 pk en de elektromotor met maximaal 145 kW/197 pk) en een maximaal systeemkoppel van 700 Nm.

De nieuwste versie van de 3,0-liter zescilinder-in-lijn verbrandingsmotor in de BMW XM 50e dankt zijn verbeterde prestaties onder andere verbeteringen aan de verbrandingscyclus, dubbele injectie, een in de cilinderkop geïntegreerd uitlaatspruitstuk en de variabele nokkenastiming VANOS, die nu volledig elektrisch wordt aangestuurd. De elektromotor heeft een door BMW gepatenteerde voorversnellingsfase, waardoor het effectieve koppel aan de transmissie-ingang voor de motor kortstondig kan worden verhoogd tot 450 Nm. De topsnelheid van het model — dat standaard is uitgerust met de M xDrive vierwielaandrijving — bedraagt een elektronisch begrensde snelheid van 250 km/u. Dankzij een elektrische actieradius van 78 — 83 kilometer volgens de WLTP-cyclus kan de BMW XM 50e een groot deel van zijn dagelijkse kilometers lokaal emissievrij afleggen in bijvoorbeeld stedelijke gebieden. En ook buiten de stadsgrenzen kan hij is volledig elektrisch rijden gemakkelijk mogelijk met snelheden tot 140 km/u.

Nieuwe digitale diensten, My BMW App met extra functies.
Een van de digitale diensten die vanaf het voorjaar van 2024 beschikbaar komt voor modellen met Operating System 9 is de Siri spraakassistent voor de Apple iPhone die rechtstreeks geactiveerd kan worden met een spraakopdracht, zonder dat de push-to-talk-knop ingedrukt hoeft te worden. Het cloudgebaseerde navigatiesysteem BMW Maps voor Operating System 9 biedt nu een verbeterde weergave van informatie over laadstations. De beschikbare afbeeldingen en beoordelingen worden zowel in de lijst met zoekresultaten als in de gedetailleerde weergave weergegeven. De beoordelingen van het laadstation worden nu duidelijk weergegeven op een schaal van nul tot vijf sterren.

Als ultieme reisgenoot biedt de My BMW App een steeds groter aantal functies. Vanaf het voorjaar van 2024 wordt Comfort Access met BMW Digital Key Plus geïntegreerd in de My BMW App in voertuigen die zijn uitgerust met het BMW-besturingssysteem 8, 8.5 of 9. Bovendien is de kaartweergave voor het selecteren van navigatiebestemmingen die in het voertuig zijn geïmporteerd, nieuw ontworpen. Dit verbetert ook de zoekfunctie en de zichtbaarheid van de meest relevante inhoud.

Ten slotte wordt de nieuwe functie voor e-mobiliteitsanalyse ook toegevoegd aan My Trips in de My BMW App. Op basis van het rijgedrag van de klant stelt deze functie het ideale BMW model voor met een volledig elektrisch aandrijfsysteem dat het meest geschikt is voor hen. Deze aanbevelingen zijn bedoeld om gebruikers van voertuigen met verbrandingsmotor te interesseren voor de overstap naar een elektrische auto.

Met zijn ongeëvenaarde combinatie van exclusiviteit, dynamiek, luxueuze ruimtelijkheid en veelzijdigheid heeft de BMW X7 zich in korte tijd ontwikkeld tot het meest succesvolle luxe topmodel van BMW. Verschillende verfijningen in het design – met name de impactvolle voorzijde – versterken het unieke karakter van de grootste Sports Activity Vehicle (SAV) van het merk. Eveneens vernieuwd is het M Sportpakket. Ook zijn tot 23 inch lichtmetalen wielen mogelijk (primeur voor af fabriek BMW wielen) en is de cockpit voorzien van de nieuwste generatie van het iDrive bedieningssysteem inclusief BMW Curved Display en BMW Operating System 8. Daarnaast heeft de nieuwe BMW X7 een nog rijkere standaarduitrusting, extra bestuurdersassistentiesystemen en de nieuwste 48V mild hybrid technologie voor alle drie de motorvarianten.

De nieuwe BMW X7 is een belangrijk onderdeel van het exclusieve productoffensief. De productie is in de BMW Group fabriek in Spartanburg, het centrum voor BMW X modellen in South Carolina, Verenigde Staten. De wereldwijde marktintroductie van de BMW X7 vindt plaats in augustus 2022.

Exterieurdesign: exclusieve looks, progressieve stijl.
Met zijn veelzijdigheid overtuigt het grootste BMW X model zowel op de weg als offroad. Verschillende aanpassingen aan het design accentueren de exclusiviteit. Meer dan ooit benadrukt het design de status van de BMW X7 als een van de topmodellen van het BMW aanbod. De nieuwe voorzijde is voorzien van kenmerkende BMW designelementen zoals de dubbele koplampen en de BMW nierengrille. In hun nieuwe vorm benadrukken ze de zelfverzekerde hoogte en visuele impact van de auto.

Opgedeelde koplampunits maken hun debuut bij de nieuwe BMW X7. De horizontale LED lichtelementen zijn hoger in de voorzijde geplaatst en bieden plaats aan de dagrijverlichting en richtingaanwijzers. De LED lichtunits daaronder zijn het dim- en grootlicht. Met hun donkere behuizing lijken ze diep in de voorzijde te liggen. De nieuwe adaptieve Matrix LED koplampen met antiverblindingsgrootlicht en automatische adaptieve lichtbundels doen ook dienst als mistverlichting.

Gerichte verlichting van de BMW nierengrille zorgt voor een rijke, extravagante uitstraling van de voorzijde van de nieuwe BMW X7, zowel stilstaand als onderweg. De BMW Iconic Glow nierengrille is standaard voor het topmodel BMW X7 M60i xDrive en optioneel voor de andere modelvarianten.

Aan de achterzijde wordt de progressieve stijl geaccentueerd door zeer slanke lichtunits, met nu een driedimensionale vormgeving. De elegante chroomlijst tussen de lichtunits is op verfijnde wijze door glas omsloten.

Het optionele, vernieuwde M Sportpakket laat de dynamische rijeigenschappen van de nieuwe BMW X7 volledig tot hun recht komen. Ook M specifieke designelementen voor het exterieur en interieur benadrukken de prestaties van de BMW X7 M60i xDrive. De carrosseriekleur Marina Bay Blue metallic is exclusief voor dit BMW M model. Een andere nieuwe carrosseriekleur is Sparking Copper Grey metallic. Standaard voor de nieuwe BMW X7 zijn 20 inch lichtmetalen wielen. Het topmodel en uitvoeringen met M Sportpakket zijn voorzien van 21 inch lichtmetalen M wielen. Voor het eerst is een BMW model optioneel af fabriek leverbaar met 23 inch lichtmetalen BMW wielen.

Luxueuze ruimtelijkheid, nog rijkere standaarduitrusting.
Het luxueuze gevoel van ruimte aan boord van de nieuwe BMW X7 is te ervaren op alle drie de zitrijen. De tweede zitrij biedt standaard plaats aan drie passagiers, met twee zeer comfortabele individuele stoelen als optie. Verwarmbare comfortstoelen zijn standaard voor bestuurder en voorpassagiers. Ook BMW Individual Merino lederen bekleding met uitgebreide omvang is standaard.

Het nieuwe dashboard – met compacte luchtuitstroomopeningen en standaard een Ambiance lichtstrip in het onderste deel – en het BMW Curved Display brengen een moderne stijl en progressieve digitalisering in het interieur. De innovatieve lichtstrip vormt een aanvulling op de standaard Ambiance verlichting. De van binnenuit met LED’s verlichte strip met ‘X7’ opschrift (of het M logo bij de BMW X7 M60i xDrive) is een integraal onderdeel van de lichteffecten die zich aanpassen op de omstandigheden. De exclusiviteit in het interieur wordt er extra door benadrukt. De transmissiehendel is voorzien van een nieuw, geavanceerd design.

De rijkere standaarduitrusting voor de nieuwe BMW X7 biedt nog meer comfort en welzijn. Naast 4-zone automatische klimaatcontrole, een glazen panoramadak en een hi-fi systeem zijn er ook de comfortstoelen voor bestuurder en voorpassagier, een met leder bekleed sportstuurwiel met schakelpaddles en een nieuw opbergvak met draadloze oplaadmogelijkheid voor mobiele apparaten. Highlights van de optielijst zijn het glazen panoramadak Sky Lounge (verlicht met LED elementen), het Bowers & Wilkins Surround Sound System en het nieuwe Travel & Comfort systeem. Voor bestuurder en voorpassagier behoren ook actieve stoelventilatie en een massagefunctie tot de mogelijkheden. Met het nieuwe Comfort Pack zijn ook de stoelen op de tweede en derde zitrij verwarmbaar, net als het stuurwiel en de armsteunen voorin.

Nieuw ontwikkelde motoren met de nieuwste 48V mild hybrid technologie.
Bovenaan het motorenaanbod staat de nieuwe 4,4-liter V8 benzinemotor voor de BMW X7 M60i xDrive. Deze motor is afgeleid van de motoren die worden gebruikt voor de modellen van BMW M GmbH. M TwinPower Turbo technologie en een cross-bank uitlaatspruitstuk zorgen voor een vermogen van 390 kW (530 pk) en een koppel van 750 Nm in combinatie met een indrukwekkende krachtontwikkeling.

De nieuwste generatie zescilinder-in-lijn debuteert in de BMW X7 xDrive40i. Er zijn talrijke innovaties voor het verbrandingsproces, de uitwisseling van verbrandingsgassen en inlaatlucht, klepaansturing, injectie en ontsteking. Het resultaat zijn betere prestaties en tegelijkertijd meer efficiëntie. Het vermogen van de motor ligt 35 kW (47 pk) hoger dan voorheen, met in totaal 280 kW (380 pk). Het koppel is met 70 Nm toegenomen tot 520 Nm, met dankzij de mild hybrid technologie een tijdelijke piek van 540 Nm.

Verschillende upgrades voor de zescilinder-in-lijn dieselmotor van de nieuwe BMW X7 xDrive40d zorgen voor een lager verbruik en emissie. Het vermogen van de motor bedraagt 259 kW (352 pk). De dieselmotor levert een koppel van 700 Nm, met dankzij het mild hybrid systeem een piek van 720 Nm.

De drie motoren hebben iets belangrijks gemeen: de integratie van een nieuwe generatie 48V mild hybrid technologie. Bij deze nieuwe versie zorgt een in de aandrijflijn geïntegreerde starter/generator voor 9 kW (12 pk) extra vermogen en 20 Nm extra koppel. Alle motoren worden gecombineerd met een 8-traps Steptronic Sport transmissie met schakelpaddles aan het stuurwiel en een Sprint functie. De intelligente BMW xDrive vierwielaandrijving zorgt ervoor dat het vermogen, ook op onverharde of ongelijke ondergrond, optimaal op de weg wordt overgebracht.

Geavanceerde ondersteltechnologie voor optimale dynamiek en comfort.
De standaard adaptieve luchtvering op voor- en achteras zorgt samen met elektronisch aangestuurde dempers voor de typerende BMW dynamiek en uitstekend comfort op lange reizen. Standaard voor de nieuwe BMW X7 M60i xDrive is ook Integral Active Steering en Executive Drive met actieve rolstabilisatie. Beide zijn optioneel leverbaar voor de zescilindermodellen, evenals het xOffroad Pack.

Alle onderstelsystemen zijn nieuw afgesteld voor de nieuwe BMW X7 en bieden het meest brede spectrum tussen sportiviteit en rijcomfort. Standaard voor de BMW X7 M60i xDrive zijn 21” lichtmetalen wielen en een M Sportdifferentieel achter.

Extra bestuurdersassistentiesystemen.
Het comfort en de veiligheid in de nieuwe BMW X7 worden verder verbeterd dankzij een aanzienlijk uitgebreid aanbod van geautomatiseerde rij- en parkeersystemen. Nieuw zijn onder meer de extra functies van Front Collision Warning, dat nu ook tijdens het afslaan aanrijdingen voorkomt met fietsers, voetgangers en tegemoetkomend verkeer. Bij de optionele Active Cruise Control met Stop & Go functie hoort ook de automatische Speed Limit Assist die gebruikmaakt van routebegeleiding en verkeersbordherkenning. Ook nieuw is een functie die waarschuwt voor een dreigende aanrijding bij het openen van een portier.

De standaard Parking Assistant omvat ook de Reversing Assistant Camera en Reversing Assistant (achteruitrijassistent). In combinatie met het optionele Parking Assistant Professional kan de Reversing Assistant het achteruitrijden van de bestuurder overnemen voor een afstand van maximaal 200 meter. De nieuwe Trailer Assistant maakt manoeuvreren met een aanhanger nog gemakkelijker. De nieuwe Manoeuvre Assistant kan manoeuvres over een afstand van tot 200 meter opslaan. De eerstvolgende keer dat de BMW bij een opgeslagen beginpunt aankomt, kan de Manoeuvre Assistant al deze taken automatisch uitvoeren. De assistent bedient hierbij het gaspedaal, de remmen, het sturen en wisselt zelf tussen de voor- en achteruitversnelling. Tijdens het uitvoeren van de automatische manoeuvre kan de bestuurder zijn aandacht vestigen op de omgeving van de auto.

Nieuwste generatie BMW iDrive met BMW Curved Display.
De standaard BMW Live Cockpit Plus in de nieuwe BMW X7 omvat de nieuwste versie van het BMW iDrive bedieningssysteem. Het is gebaseerd op het BMW Operating System 8 en maakt gebruik van het BMW Curved Display, dat wordt gevormd door een 12,3 inch informatiedisplay en een Control Display van 14,9 inch. Het met cloudgegevens werkende navigatiesysteem BMW Maps is optioneel uit te breiden met Augmented View op het Control Display. De optionele BMW Digital Key Plus maakt het mogelijk om de nieuwe BMW X7 op afstand te ont- en vergrendelen via de smartphone, via extra beveiligde ultrabreedband (UWB) technologie. Munich. For the third time in a row, BMW M GmbH ended the financial year as the global market leader in the performance and high-performance car segment. Indeed, the company posted record sales once again in 2021. A total of 163,542 BMW M cars were delivered to customers worldwide last year, a 13 percent increase on 2020.

This growth was spread equally between the High-Performance sports cars and Performance cars made by BMW M GmbH, with both product categories raising their sales figures to a new level. “This success is the perfect start to our anniversary year,” says Franciscus van Meel, CEO of BMW M GmbH. “M is in a stronger position than ever as it celebrates its 50th birthday.”

New BMW M3 and new BMW M4 enjoy immediate success.

The biggest drivers of growth among the High-Performance sports cars were the new BMW M3 and BMW M4 models introduced in spring 2021. Fuelled by a vehicle concept focused squarely on emotionally charged dynamism and unprecedented diversity in the model range, the new BMW M3 Sedan (fuel consumption combined: 10.2 – 10.0 l/100 km [27.7 – 28.3 mpg imp]; CO₂ emissions combined: 231 – 227 g/km as per WLTP), new BMW M4 Coupé (fuel consumption combined: 10.1 – 9.9 l/100 km [28.0 – 28.5 mpg imp]; CO₂ emissions combined: 230 – 226 g/km as per WLTP) and new BMW M4 Convertible (fuel consumption combined: 10.2 l/100 km [27.7 mpg imp]; CO₂ emissions combined: 233 – 231 g/km as per WLTP) got off to an extremely successful start. The latest model generation is the first to offer customers two output levels topping out at 375 kW/510 hp, the M xDrive all-wheel-drive system and a choice of either a six-speed manual gearbox or the eight-speed M Steptronic transmission.

“The response to the new generation of the BMW M3 and BMW M4 has been simply overwhelming,” reports Timo Resch, Vice President Customer, Brand and Sales at BMW M GmbH. “We can therefore expect demand for these iconic sports cars to continue on an upward curve in 2022.”

Also making a powerful contribution to the latest rise in High-Performance model sales at BMW M GmbH were the BMW X5 M Competition (fuel consumption combined: 13.6 – 13.3 l/100 km [20.8 – 21,2 mpg imp]; CO₂ emissions combined: 308 – 303 g/km as per WLTP) and BMW X6 M Competition (fuel consumption combined: 13.4 – 13.1 l/100 km [21.1 – 21.6 mpg imp]; CO₂ emissions combined: 305 – 299 g/km as per WLTP). Following the successful market launch of the latest model generation the previous year, the charismatic High-Performance sports cars in the Sports Activity Vehicle and Sports Activity Coupé segment – both powered by a 460 kW/625 hp V8 engine – increased their sales figures once again in 2021.

Alluring and in demand: the BMW M models in the BMW 4 Series range.

The dynamic excellence, agility and precision for which M is renowned also enabled the brand’s Performance models to delight and excite a wide range of customers over the past year. Credit for the latest boost to sales goes above all to the M models based on the new BMW 4 Series. Particularly popular were the variants of the new BMW 4 Series Coupé, whose line-up consists of the BMW M440i Coupé (fuel consumption combined: 8.1 – 7.4 l/100 km [34.8 – 38.2 mpg imp]; CO₂ emissions combined: 184 – 167 g/km as per WLTP) and BMW M440i xDrive Coupé (fuel consumption combined: 8.2 – 7.5 l/100 km [34.5 – 37.7 mpg imp]; CO₂ emissions combined: 186 – 170 g/km as per WLTP) powered by a 275 kW/374 hp six-cylinder in-line petrol engine, and the BMW M440d xDrive Coupé (fuel consumption combined: 6.3 – 5.7 l/100 km [44.8 – 49.6 mpg imp]; CO₂ emissions combined: 165 – 150 g/km as per WLTP), whose six-cylinder in-line diesel unit produces 250 kW/340 hp.

The latest BMW X models within the ranks of M’s Performance cars also proved extremely desirable. Indeed, the BMW X3 M40i powered by a six-cylinder in-line engine with 265 kW/360 hp (fuel consumption combined: 9.5 – 8.8 l/100 km [29.7 – 32.1 mpg imp]; CO₂ emissions combined: 216 – 199 g/km as per WLTP) and the BMW X7 M50i (fuel consumption combined: 12.8 – 12.3 l/100 km [22.1 – 23.0 mpg imp]; CO₂ emissions combined: 292 – 280 g/km as per WLTP) with its 390 kW/530 hp V8 unit both posted an increase in new registrations.

Looking ahead to an anniversary year brimming with highlights.

BMW M GmbH will continue its product offensive in this anniversary year with the addition of new High-Performance and Performance models. Highlights include the new BMW M240i xDrive Coupé (fuel consumption combined: 8.8 – 8.1 l/100 km [32.1 – 34.9 mpg imp]; CO₂ emissions combined: 200 – 185 g/km as per WLTP) and the arrival later in the year of the first BMW M3 Touring and an exclusive special-edition model based on the new BMW M4 Coupé.

In addition, the BMW Group subsidiary – which was founded as BMW Motorsport GmbH in May 1972 and enjoys the status of an independent manufacturer – will also drive the transformation to electric mobility. Following in the tyre tracks of the BMW i4 M50 (electric power consumption combined: 22.5 – 18.0 kWh/100 km as per WLTP; CO₂ emissions combined: 0 g/km) in the first half of 2022 will be the likewise fully electric BMW iX M60 (projected electric power consumption combined: 24.7 – 21.7 kWh/100 km as per WLTP; CO₂ emissions combined: 0 g/km).

The most powerful BMW M model ever made points the way to the future of the brand.

The anniversary year will be crowned by the start of production of the BMW XM. The most powerful BMW M car ever to go into series production is also the brand’s first High-Performance model to employ a plug-in hybrid drive system. Its newly developed M Hybrid technology brings together a V8 engine and a high-performance electric motor to develop maximum output of 550 kW/750 hp and peak torque of 1,000 Nm (737 lb-ft). The design of the BMW XM majors on presence and extrovert appeal and in so doing sends out a clear statement in the luxury segment.

“Our first standalone model since the legendary BMW M1 represents a complete re-imagining of the high-performance car segment,” says van Meel. “The BMW XM blends expressive design and progressive interior luxury with an incomparable driving experience that serves up both sublime performance and the ability to glide along in near silence in all-electric mode. Munich. As spearheads of the BMW X model range, the BMW X5, BMW X6 and BMW X7 impress with a high level of comfort and luxury, supreme performance and pronounced dynamic handling capabilities. The two Sports Activity Vehicles (SAV) and the Sports Activity Coupe (SAC) combine these attributes with an equally dynamic, elegant and unmistakably distinctive design. New highlights are the BMW X5 and BMW X6 Black Vermilion editions featuring exclusive equipment details. The BMW X7 edition in Frozen Black metallic combines impressive options into an exclusive package.

In 2020 alone and with almost 250,000 units sold worldwide, the SAV/SAC trio from Spartanburg, USA, contributed decisively towards the success of the BMW brand. Around every eighth newly delivered BMW model was a BMW X5, X6 or X7.

All three edition models go on sale with all engines available for each of their original models. They can be ordered with immediate effect, with the market launch beginning in August 2021. Prices in Germany start at 93,200 Euros for the BMW X5 Black Vermilion, 100,700 Euros for the BMW X6 Black Vermilion and 108,700 Euros for the BMW X7 in Frozen Black metallic (each including 19% sales tax).

Particularly striking: BMW X5 and X6 Black Vermilion edition.
The central focus of the Black Vermilion edition is the interplay between the colours black and red. For example, the BMW double kidney grille with model-specific red bars creates an effective contrast to the BMW Individual special paint finish Frozen Black metallic. On the BMW X6 Black Vermilion this visual highlight is expressed in a particularly impressive way in combination with its kidney grille Iconic Glow. The M headlights Shadow Line with BMW laser light, including accented lighting with blue X signature, complete the distinctive look of the front end. Moreover, on the exterior, the M Sport Package emphasises the dynamic character of the BMW X5 and X6 Black Vermilion editions. It comprises, among other things, specific front and rear aprons as well as the M high-gloss Shadow Line with extended options. Behind the Orbit Grey matt, 22-inch, double-spoke 742 M light alloy wheels with mixed tyres designed exclusively for these edition models, red high-gloss M Sport brake callipers stand out as a striking visual highlight.

In the interior of the BMW X5 and BMW X6 Black Vermilion editions the M Alcantara Anthracite roof liner provides for an exceptionally sophisticated ambience. A finely crafted Edition logo on the cupholder cover in BMW Individual black piano finish emphasises the limited model’s exclusiveness. The glass application Crafted Clarity on the iDrive Controller, the automatic gear selector and Start/Stop button, as well as the BMW Individual precious wood interior trim Fineline Black with aluminium inlays provide additional sophisticated accents. Driver and front seat passenger travel in comfort seats offering a multitude of adjustment options. The BMW Individual full leather trim Merino Black is additionally enhanced by edition-specific red contrast stitching for both the driver’s seat and front passenger seat. Inside the BMW X5 Black Vermilion, the red accents are also to be found on the rear seats. Likewise, the edging on both the front and rear floor mats is finished in red. Sun-protective glass with more deeply tinted rear windows beyond the B-pillar enhances passenger privacy whilst blending in harmoniously with the sporty and dynamic exterior design.

BMW X7 edition in Frozen Black metallic – individual and expressive.
Like the Black Vermilion editions, the new BMW X7 edition also has the BMW Individual special paint finish Frozen Black metallic, dispensing, however, with details in contrasting colour. The BMW M Sport brake callipers of the edition-specific, 22-inch BMW Individual Y-spoke 758 I alloy wheels in Orbit Grey matt are finished in high gloss black. Combined with the M Sport Package and the M High Gloss Shadow Line with extended options, it is this colour restraint in particular that make the 5.15-metre long and over 2-metre wide seven-seater look even more impressive. The interior of the BMW X7 edition in Frozen Black metallic provides for an elegantly discreet atmosphere thanks to the M Alcantara Anthracite roof liner, the glass application Crafted Clarity and sun-protection glass.

Munich. The experience of luxurious driving pleasure has reached a whole new dimension in the BMW X7. The first Sports Activity Vehicle (SAV) in the luxury segment combines a striking appearance with generous interior comfort combined with the brand’s hallmark sporty flair. An edition model now brings out the imposing presence and exclusive charisma of the BMW X7 in a particularly concentrated form. With its unique BMW Individual design and equipment features, the BMW X7 Edition Dark Shadow underlines both the sporty appearance and the luxury ambience of the largest SAV. The most striking feature of the edition model is the BMW Individual special paint finish in Frozen Arctic Grey metallic. This particularly high-quality and elaborate variant of the body finish is now used for the first time in a BMW X model. Additional selected variants of the special BMW Individual paint finish will be added to the range of optional equipment items for the BMW X7, BMW X6 and BMW X5 to coincide with the start of production of the edition model.

The precisely coordinated details of the design and features for both exterior and interior give the BMW X7 edition model the status of a collector's item. The BMW X7 Edition Dark Shadow will be produced at the BMW plant in Spartanburg/USA from August 2020 onwards in a limited edition of about 500 units. The edition model is available worldwide and can be combined with all engines offered for the BMW X7.

The expressive paint finish of the BMW X7 Edition Dark Shadow is supplemented with the BMW Individual High Gloss Shadow Line including extended features. This means that in addition to the side window surrounds, the covers of the B and C columns and the exterior mirror bases, a black chrome finish is also featured on the frame and the bars of the BMW kidney grille, the Air Breathers and the tailpipe covers of the exhaust system. This creates a subtle contrast to the matt shimmering body surfaces, also emphasised by the BMW Individual Roof Rail High Gloss Shadow Line and the sun protection glazing. The dynamic character of the SAV is emphasised by the aerodynamically optimised bodywork elements of the M sports package, which also forms part of the equipment package for the edition model. Another exclusive feature of the BMW X7 Edition Dark Shadow is the 22-inch M light-alloy wheels in V-spoke design with a Jet Black matt finish and fitted with mixed tyres. The superior performance of the engine is accompanied by the emotionally powerful sound of the M sports exhaust system.

An impressive combination of sporty flair and luxurious ambience also characterises the interior of the edition model, which is available with either six or seven seats. The driver and front passenger enjoy the superior sporty flair of the luxurious SAV on electrically adjustable comfort seats with memory function. An M leather steering wheel and BMW Individual equipment details specially developed for the BMW X7 Edition Dark Shadow bear witness to the very highest level of exclusivity. A contributing factor here is the BMW Individual Merino full leather upholstery in the specific two-tone variant Night Blue/Black with contrasting seams, as is the BMW Individual roof liner in Night Blue with Alcantara finish. The upper part of the instrument panel and the armrests of the doors are covered with nappa leather in Night Blue. Black merino leather is used in the lower section of the instrument panel and on the front backrests. In addition, BMW Individual interior trim finishers in Fineline Black with aluminium inlays contribute to the fascinating aura of the edition model’s interior. In the centre console area, the unique design is underscored by means of BMW Individual interior trim finishers in Piano Black finish bearing an edition logo.

In addition to the Frozen Arctic Grey metallic version available exclusively for the BMW X7 Edition Dark Shadow, additional special BMW Individual finishes will be integrated into the production process at the BMW plant in Spartanburg from August 2020. This means that the BMW X7, BMW X6 and BMW X5 models can now also be given a particularly high-quality finish in Urban Green and Grigio Telesto metallic.

Munich. The two new top models in the BMW X family exude a supreme presence with a corresponding performance. Their concentrated power is generated by the new 8-cylinder petrol engine – based on BMW TwinPower Turbo technology with a maximum output of 390 kW/530 hp – built into both the BMW X5 M50i (fuel consumption combined: 10,7 – 10,5 l/100 km; CO2 emissions combined: 243 – 238 g/km) and the BMW X7 M50i (fuel consumption combined: 11,1 – 10,9 l/100 km; CO2 emissions combined: 252 – 248 g/km) models. More than ever before, these new top-flight engines underline the sporty nature of the latest generation of the original Sports Activity Vehicle (SAV) – and the first BMW X model in the luxury segment. Both models combine the V8 engine with the intelligent BMW xDrive all-wheel drive system and a model-specific suspension technology, developed with expertise from BMW M GmbH.

Like the drive and suspension technology, the model-specific design features of the new BMW X5 M50i and the new BMW X7 M50i have passed through a consistent design process that has resulted in an absolutely breath-taking motoring experience. Moreover, the exclusive nature of the new 8-cylinder models is reflected in the extremely high quality of their standard equipment. The new BMW X5 M50i and the new BMW X7 M50i will be produced from August 2019 at the BMW plant in Spartanburg in the USA and will be available from autumn 2019.

New V8 engine with outstanding power and characteristic sound.

The 4.4 litre drive unit of the new BMW X5 M50i and the new BMW X7 M50i emphasise the characteristic features of the 8-cylinder engines in terms of power development and torque to an outstanding degree. The new V8 engine turns in a very impressive level of performance – whether you prefer cruising calmly and confidently at low engine speeds or pulling out all the performance stops and laying down some sporty acceleration manoeuvres. Several components have been upgraded since the previous engine version; these include the crankcase, cylinder barrels, pistons, crankshaft and cylinder head – and above all, the freshly updated BMW TwinPower Turbo technology. The turbochargers positioned between the cylinder banks in the V compartment have been enlarged, while the direct petrol injection performs at a new maximum pressure level of 350 bar. The technology package also includes the newest versions of the fully variable VALVETRONIC valve control and variable double VANOS camshaft control.

The new V8 engine responds with great sensitivity to every movement of the accelerator pedal. The engine already generates its maximum torque of 750 Nm at 1 800 rpm – and it remains available up to an engine speed of 4 600 rpm. Accordingly, the power output is as strident as you would expect it to be. The maximum value of 390 kW/530 hp is activated between 5 500 and 6 000 rpm. As a result, the new BMW X5 M50i is able to accelerate from zero to 100 km/h in 4.3 seconds. The new BMW X7 M50i completes its standard sprint in 4.7 seconds.

This supreme power development is accompanied by an impressive sound progression that is generated by the standard M sport exhaust system. Using the driving experience control, the driver can choose between an extremely sporty or a more comfort-oriented mode. The sheer bandwidth of the engine’s character then becomes all the more obvious. In the SPORT and SPORT PLUS modes, not only is the characteristic curve of the accelerator pedal configured for a dynamic driving style, but the power development and remarkable sound characteristics of the V8 engine are too.

8-speed Steptronic sports transmission, BMW xDrive and M sports differential for thrilling performance.

The performance features of both of these thoroughly sports-oriented SAV models are supported by the rather specific nature of the power transmission. The new V8 engine is combined as standard with an 8-speed Steptronic sports transmission, characterised by highly dynamic gear shift properties. Shift paddles are mounted near the steering wheel for manual control of the choice of gear. The Launch Control function enables traction-optimised acceleration with maximum dynamic performance from standing.

The latest version of the BMW xDrive system distributes the engine torque between the front and rear wheels in a manner that enables it to adapt quickly and precisely to the road conditions. The intelligent all-wheel drive system increases the agility and supreme traction of the new BMW X5 M50i and the new BMW X7 M50i as much as it enhances the driving stability in all weather and road conditions. These sporty characteristics are also supported in highly dynamic driving situations by the rear-wheel emphasis of the system’s design. In addition, the standard equipment of the new BMW X5 M50i and the new BMW X7 M50i also includes an M sports differential. The electronically controlled differential lock in the rear bevel gears limits the rotational speed balancing between the wheel on the innermost side of a bend and that on the outermost side and enables highly dynamic acceleration when exiting a bend. In addition, the M sports differential, which is interconnected with the DSC (Dynamic Stability Control), optimises traction and power transmission when driving on loose terrain and when different road friction values exist between the right and left rear wheels. This serves to prevent wheel spinning arising due to insufficient grip, with the torque being redirected to the other wheel.

Model-specific suspension technology for a superior drive.

The model-specific suspension of the new BMW X5 M50i and the new BMW X7 M50i has been painstakingly tuned to extract maximum potential from the outstanding drive design based on the know-how of BMW M GmbH. Both models employ a construction principle comprising a double-wishbone front axle and a five-link rear axle combined with specific kinematics and elastokinematics for the wheel suspension, independent suspension and damping settings, and 21 inch M light alloy wheels complete with mixed tyres. The standard equipment also includes electromechanical steering with Servotronic function and an M sport brake system with blue-coated brake calipers complete with M logo. Also available as optional equipment are 22 inch light alloy wheels, again fitted with mixed tyres.

The new BMW X5 M50i is equipped with Adaptive M suspension. One of two sets of characteristics can be selected for the electronically controlled dampers, which can be activated using the driving experience switches, comprising COMFORT and SPORT modes. The new BMW X7 M50i is fitted with adaptive dual axle air suspension, which is also available optionally for the new BMW X5 M50i. In the SPORT driving mode, as well as at speeds of over 138 km/h, this automatically results in a reduced ride height of 20 millimetres. However, the driver is also able to adjust the height of the body by activating a button in the cockpit; two levels are available, raising the height up to 40 millimetres above the standard setting; this is useful when driving off-road, for example.

Optional integral active steering is available for both models, which serves to further enhance the vehicle’s agility. It also results in enhanced superiority when it comes to lane changing and manoeuvrability in urban traffic, by co-steering the rear wheels either in the same or in the opposite direction, depending on the driving speed. A further increase in superiority and dynamics of the drive characteristics is produced by the integral active steering, the active electronic anti roll stabilizers, which ensures very fast and precise balancing of lateral roll forces during dynamic cornering, by means of electric swivel motors fitted to the front and rear axles. Both are an integral part of the optional Adaptive M Suspension Professional package for the new BMW X5 M50i and the optional Executive Drive Pro equipment available for the new BMW X7 M50i.

Design and equipment: exclusive appearance with a luxurious atmosphere.

Model-specific designer features serve to emphasise the exclusive and sporty nature of the new BMW X5 M50i and the new BMW X7 M50i the moment you see it. The extra-large air inlets in the front apron are a clear indication of the V8 engine’s cooling requirements. The unique design of the side sills and rear apron, the BMW individual high-gloss Shadow Line, and selected design elements in Cerium Grey similarly serve to underline the outstanding status of the 8-cylinder models.

The interior of the two top models of the BMW X family features an M leather steering wheel, a gear selector lever displaying the M logo, Vernasca leather upholstery with contrast stitching and perforated surfaces and interior strips in Aluminium Tetragon (BMW X5 M50i) or Fineline Black precious wood finish with high-gloss metallic effect, together ensuring a luxurious feel with a sporty touch. And as if that wasn’t enough, the standard equipment also comprises illuminated entry sills displaying the ’M50i’ logo, a headliner in Anthracite (BMW X5 M50i) or Alcantara Anthracite (BMW X7 M50i) and a Hi-Fi loudspeaker system (BMW X5 M50i) or Harman Kardon surround sound system (BMW X7 M50i).

BMW X7 highlights

• Een nieuwe dimensie van luxe: de BMW X7 combineert de uitstraling, exclusiviteit en ruimtelijkheid van een luxeauto met de veelzijdige, wendbare rijeigenschappen van een Sports Activity Vehicle (SAV). De productie van de BMW X7 vindt plaats in de

• Het grootste BMW X model is 5.151 millimeter lang, 2.000 millimeter breed en heeft een hoogte van 1.805 millimeter. De wielbasis bedraagt 3.105 millimeter. De heldere designtaal omvat een gewaagd, extreem prominent front, grote ramen, een grote bodemvrijheid, een lange daklijn en een in twee delen te openen achterklep. Exclusieve details zijn er ook, onder meer diverse chroomelementen. Adaptieve LED-koplampen zijn standaard op de BMW X7. BMW Laserlight is optioneel verkrijgbaar.

Munich. The Sports Activity Vehicle is heading for the luxury segment. And on its way there it is undergoing a true endurance test marathon. An equally extensive and diverse test programme takes the camouflaged prototypes of the new BMW X7 across challenging terrain all over the world. Earlier winter test drives on snow and ice at the edge of the polar circle were followed by long-distance endurance tests on desert and gravel tracks under the South African sun. Hectic stop-and-go-traffic in the urban jungle alternates with dynamic load tests on winding country roads and highways. Under extreme challenges and a wide spectrum of weather and road surface conditions the first luxury-segment BMW X model has provided the ultimate proof of its supreme driving characteristics within the framework of driving dynamics testing.

With its impressive appearance, exceptionally generous interior space, sophisticated drive and suspension technology and exclusive equipment features, the BMW X7 is the latest interpretation of luxurious driving pleasure in the style of the Munich-based premium brand. The combination of supreme off-road performance and superior driving dynamics on the road so typical of a Sports Activity Vehicle is entering a further vehicle segment. With the upcoming presentation of the latest and also largest BMW X model at the end of 2018, BMW is continuing its current product offensive in the luxury class with a yet further fascinating vehicle concept.

The prototypes of the new BMW X7 were produced at the BMW Spartanburg plant. The competence centre for BMW X models in the US Federal State of South Carolina will also become the place of origin for the production model. Despite conspicuous camouflaging, the preproduction vehicles reveal the imposing dimensions as well as the both clear and harmonious proportions of the BMW X7.

In the new BMW X7, luxury, diversity and sportiness combine to form a unique entity. The current tests impressively demonstrate the driving experience that can be enjoyed in the sophisticated ambience of the vehicle’s interior even under adverse climatic conditions and on the most varying terrain. At the Winter Test Centre in Arjeplog, Sweden, during hot-climate tests, but also in everyday traffic situations around the home town of Spartanburg, the prototypes of the new BMW X7 have already had ample opportunity to convince with contemporary luxury and supreme diversity.
