The BMW CE 04 opened a new chapter in urban two-wheel mobility when it was launched in summer 2021 as an emission-free electric scooter for urban centres. Until today, the BMW CE 04 remains the undisputed market leader in the segment of all-electric motorcycles and scooters with an output of over 11 kW. For the 2026 model year, 
BMW Motorrad has specifically revised its premium vehicle for this segment.

The Basic variant features Lightwhite uni body colour combined with a black-grey seat and clear windshield, giving the new BMW CE 04 a clean and consistent look.

The Avantgarde variant in the body colour Gravity blue metallic matt, combined with the contrasting colour Sao Paulo yellow, highlights the CE 04's dynamic and forward-thinking design. The Pro seat in black/light grey with yellow and white tapes, a yellow-tinted windshield, and a laser-engraved rear wheel rim complete the design.

The Exclusive variant features the Spacesilver metallic body colour combined with exclusive tapes, giving the CE 04 an especially elegant look. This version of the CE 04 also features increased wind and weather protection in the form of a large windshield with integrated hand protectors and heated grips. It also has a laser-engraved rear wheel rim on one side, a comfort seat with seat heating, new upholstery fabric and CE 04 embroidery.

Increased wind and weather protection in the form of a large windshield with integrated hand protectors, as well as a comfort seat with seat heating, are also available as optional equipment ex works for the other model variants. The new laser-engraved rear wheel rims on one side are reserved for the Avantgarde and Exclusive variants.

The BMW CE 04 - the electric champion for the city. Like no other, it combines the latest electromobility technologies with emotion and great riding pleasure. 

Manufactured at the BMW Group plant in Berlin, the birthplace of BMW motorcycles, the BMW CE 04 is packed with innovative technologies, particularly in terms of its drive and control systems, for which the BMW Group has filed several patent applications. With its electric drive, forward-looking design and innovative connectivity solutions, this scooter merges transport and communication functions and promises a great riding experience.

Plenty of power and ample range for supreme riding in the city and in urban areas.

With a maximum output of 31 kW (42 hp), the BMW CE 04 has a powerful motor and offers outstanding riding pleasure. For the classic “traffic light start” discipline from 
0 to 50 km/h, it takes just fast 2.6 seconds. Even in the reduced output L3e-A1 vehicle class, 23 kW (31 hp) drive power is available. The maximum speed of both versions is 
120 km/h – for speedy progress not just in the city but on main roads and motorway sections, too.

The BMW CE 04 has an ample battery cell capacity of 60.6 Ah (8.9 kWh), providing a range of some 130 kilometres (reduced output version: 100 km). This enables day-to-day emission-free riding in the city, in an urban setting and for smaller-scale fun tours after work or at the weekend – with complete peace of mind.

Innovative electric drive with liquid-cooled electric motor.

The BMW CE 04 has a permanent magnet electric motor mounted in the frame between the battery and the rear wheel, as used in a similar form in BMW cars such as the 
225xe Active Tourer. BMW Motorrad conducted extensive riding tests to develop a specific type of recuperation for each riding mode, giving the rider a high-level convenience. This means that optimum performance and riding characteristics are available in every situation on the road.

Short charging times and charging technology based on the system used in cars.

The lithium-ion battery is charged using the integrated charging device either at a regular household socket, a wallbox or a public charging station. When the battery is completely flat, charging time ideally lasts 4 hours and 20 minutes. With the quick charger available as an optional extra with an output of up to 6.9 kW (2.3 kW is the standard level), charging time is reduced to just 1 hour and 40 minutes when the battery is completely flat. If the battery level is only 20 per cent and the battery is charged to 80 per cent, the charging time is reduced to just 45 minutes with the optional quick charger. Depending on the market, the standard charging cable with a charging capacity of 2.3 kW comes as standard with the BMW CE 04.

A Mode 3 charging cable is required for fast charging at the wallbox at home or at a public charging station. In the same way as with BMW automobiles, BMW Charging solutions are available for the BMW CE 04, too – for maximum flexibility based on numerous customised programmes for charging at home, on the road and at work.

Increased riding stability through slip control by means of ASC (Automatic Stability Control). DTC (Dynamic Traction Control) as an ex works option.

Similar to the ASC system found on BMW motorcycles with combustion engines, this traction control system is also available on the BMW CE 04. ASC limits the engine torque depending on the rear wheel slip. DTC, which is available as an option, provides even greater riding safety. DTC enables even more efficient and safe acceleration, especially in banking position.

Three riding modes "ECO", "RAIN" and "ROAD" for efficient, everyday use as standard. “DYNAMIC” riding mode for further enhanced riding pleasure as an ex works option.

In developing the BMW CE 04, BMW Motorrad attached particular importance to providing opportunities for the rider to make an individual choice between maximum efficiency and maximum riding fun. Accordingly, the new BMW CE 04 features the three riding modes “ECO”, “RAIN” and “ROAD” as standard. The additional “DYNAMIC” riding mode is also available as an ex works option, enabling the scooter to accelerate at an even swifter pace.

Directionally stable suspension with one-piece tubular steel main frame for smooth handling and a high level of ride comfort.

The main frame is a tubular steel construction. The front wheel is controlled by a telescopic fork with a slider tube diameter of 35 mm. Rear wheel control consists of a single-sided swing arm. At the rear, suspension and damping are performed by a directly controlled, fully covered spring strut. The BMW CE 04 is fitted with generously sized tyres, with 120/70 R15 67H at the front and 160/60 R15 56H at the rear.

Powerful brake system with latest-generation ABS. ABS Pro with banking capability as an ex works option.

At the front, a twin disc brake ensures secure deceleration, supported by a single-disc system at the rear. In addition, BMW Motorrad ABS ensures a high level of active safety. ABS Pro, available as an optional extra, goes even further: By means of a banking sensor, ABS Pro also controls braking on bends, thereby offering the greatest possible safety.

10.25” TFT colour screen with integrated map navigation for convenient route planning and extensive connectivity as standard.

The BMW CE 04 comes fitted as standard with a 10.25-inch TFT colour screen with integrated map navigation and connectivity. Its excellent readability, clear menu navigation and highly integrated operating concept put the BMW CE 04 at the top of the scooter segment. For the first time, the new 10.25-inch colour screen makes it possible to display a navigation map in the instrument cluster, so no additional display is needed.

Powerful LED lighting units all round. Adaptive Headlight Pro and light functions as ex works options.

The lighting units on the BMW CE 04 are based on state-of-the-art LED technology. They include a headlamp for high beam and low beam at the front. In addition to a rear light featuring LED technology, there are also LED turn indicators. The indicator lamps likewise use LED technology. Even greater safety at night is offered by the adaptive turning light Headlight Pro, available as an ex works option. Here, the rider benefits from further improved illumination of the road when cornering for even safer riding at night. Special light functions such as “Welcome” and “Good Bye” are also available as ex works options.

Future-oriented design and colour scheme.

The BMW CE 04's design embodies a forward-looking form of urban two-wheel mobility and uses an innovative design language that evokes emotion for this drive technology, immediately identifying it as part of the BMW Motorrad family. The modern surface treatment is impressively presented in Lightwhite non-metallic and is complemented by matt black sections in the front and side areas, as well as the “floating” seat. There are also pioneering wheels designed to look like disc wheels (solid wheels) and a side stand integrated into the design.

München. Met de BMW C 400 X en BMW C 400 GT biedt BMW Motorrad twee hoogstaande modellen voor het segment van de middelgrote scooters. Op het vlak van stedelijke mobiliteit onderscheidt de BMW C 400 X zich door zijn dynamische eigenschappen te benadrukken, terwijl de Gran Turismo-versie BMW C 400 GT zich vooral leent om te toeren en indruk maakt met een hoger comfortpeil. BMW Motorrad heeft beide middelgrote scooters nu aangescherpt en gaf ze naast technische verbeteringen ook nieuwe functies, kleuren en accessoires.

Krachtige eencilinderaandrijving met EU-5+-homologatie en ABS Pro met standaard DBC, DTC en MSR.

De aandrijving wordt nog steeds verzekerd door de beproefde eencilindermotor met een vermogen van 25 kW (34 pk) bij 7.500 t/min en een maximumkoppel van 35 Nm bij 5.750 t/min. Hij geeft zijn vermogen af via een continu variabele CVT-transmissie en een powerset-swingarm met hoge torsiestijfheid. Dankzij de nieuwste EU-5+-homologatie blijven de nieuwe BMW C 400 X en
BMW C 400 GT de ideale partners voor dynamisch en zorgeloos scooterplezier.

Zowel de BMW C 400 X als de BMW C 400 GT is nu standaard uitgerust met BMW Motorrad ABS Pro. Doordat het ABS-systeem ook in een schuine hoek werkt, komt het de veiligheid sterk ten goede, zelfs bij het remmen in een bocht. ABS Pro voorkomt dat de wielen blokkeren, zelfs wanneer de remhendel snel wordt aangetrokken, en vermindert abrupte veranderingen in de stuurkracht, waardoor het voertuig zelfs bij plots remmen niet ongewenst omhoog komt.

Bovendien biedt de functie Dynamic Brake Control (DBC), die aan het ABS Pro-systeem is gekoppeld, een erg gevoelige respons en een hoge rem- en rijstabiliteit met de best mogelijke vertraging, zelfs in bochten. Zodra de sensorbox een bepaalde vertragingswaarde levert tijdens het remmen, wordt een simultaan acceleratieverzoek van de bestuurder als onwaarschijnlijk geïdentificeerd en wordt de gasklep niet geopend. Zo blijft het voertuig stabiel en wordt de remafstand ingekort. Zodra een bepaalde vertragingskracht wordt bereikt, worden de waarschuwingsknipperlichten automatisch ingeschakeld.

Dynamic Traction Control (DTC) en Engine Drag Torque Control (MSR) zijn eveneens standaard aanwezig. DTC biedt nog meer veiligheid bij het accelereren, zelfs in een hellingshoek en vooral bij gladde wegomstandigheden. MSR vermijdt onstabiele rijomstandigheden die zich kunnen voordoen tijdens het uitrollen of bij een abrupte vermindering van de gasinput, die anders overmatige remslip op het achterwiel (slippen of blokkeren) kan veroorzaken. In deze gevallen opent MSR de gaskleppen zo ver dat ze het sleepkoppel evenaren en het voertuig stabiliseren.

Connectiviteit — een uitgebreide waaier aan informatie en functionaliteit in de vorm van een groot, perfect leesbaar 6,5"-TFT-scherm, dat standaard wordt gemonteerd. Navigatievoorbereiding voor beide modellen en een 10,25"-scherm als optie af fabriek voor de BMW C 400 GT.

De BMW C 400 X en BMW C 400 GT beschikken voortaan standaard over een 6,5" groot TFT-scherm. De verscheidenheid aan informatie, de weergavekwaliteit en, last but not least, de gebruiksvriendelijkheid zijn ongeëvenaard. In combinatie met de BMW Motorrad Connected App maakt het scherm verbinding met de Multi-Controller op het linkerdeel van het stuur en laat het zich snel, veilig en gemakkelijk bedienen. Als onderdeel van de optie Connectivity Pro kan de
BMW C 400 GT ook worden uitgerust met een groot 10,25"-scherm.

Handig bellen, naar muziek luisteren en navigeren tijdens het rijden zijn eveneens mogelijk. Zo kunnen een smartphone en helm via Bluetooth met het communicatiesysteem van BMW Motorrad worden verbonden, waarna de media- en telefoonfuncties eenvoudig toegankelijk zijn via het TFT-scherm. Deze functies kunnen worden gebruikt zonder een app te installeren. Als er een Bluetooth-verbinding met een standaard smartphone actief is, kan de rijder genieten van muziek tijdens het rijden en kan hij de smartphone opladen in het actief gekoelde opbergvak. Bovendien biedt de gratis BMW Motorrad Connected App praktische navigatie met pijlen die rechtstreeks op het TFT-scherm worden weergegeven.

Deze basisnavigatie is bijzonder aantrekkelijk voor rijders die het dagelijkse verkeer of korte ritten comfortabel en zonder extra uitrusting willen afhandelen. Navigatievoorbereiding met houder voor de BMW Motorrad Connected Ride Navigator of de BMW Motorrad Connected Ride Cradle is nu ook als optie af fabriek verkrijgbaar (niet in combinatie met het 10,25"-scherm).

Uitgebreid aanbod voor woon-werkverkeer met meer opbergruimte. Nieuwe accessoires zoals een topkoffer van 43,5 liter, een koetswerkbescherming en handbeschermers.

De BMW C 400 X en BMW C 400 GT bieden voortaan meer opbergruimte onder de zitting, waardoor rijders nog meer bagage kwijt kunnen. Bij de BMW C 400 X steeg het opbergvolume met 3 liter, bij de BMW C 400 GT met maar liefst 12 liter (inclusief de voorvakken). De BMW C 400 GT wordt standaard geleverd met een manueel verstelbare voorruit en kan af fabriek worden uitgerust met een optioneel bagagerek.

Met een opbergruimte van 43,5 liter biedt de nieuwe topkoffer niet alleen 13,5 liter meer volume dan voorheen, maar ook een laadvermogen van 10 kilogram in plaats van 5 kilogram bij het vorige exemplaar. De topkoffer is ook geëlektrificeerd, met interieurverlichting en een USB-oplaadpoort. Ook zijn een rugkussen en gelakte zijpanelen als optie verkrijgbaar voor de nieuwe topkoffer. Hij wordt aan het voertuig bevestigd via een trillingswerend bagagerek. Nieuwe originele accessoires van BMW Motorrad, zoals koetswerkbeschermers en handbeschermers, maken het aanbod compleet.

BMW C 400 X met nieuw design vooraan en nieuwe ‘Rugged’ modelvariant als optie af fabriek.

Naast de standaard metaalkleurige versie Blackstorm met zwart/grijze zitting en zwarte velgen en remklauwen vooraan is de BMW C 400 X met zijn nieuwe, dynamischer gelijnde frontoppervlak ook verkrijgbaar in de nieuwe ‘Rugged’-variant.

De BMW C 400 X is dan afgewerkt in de matte metaalkleur Kalamata, die hem een elegante en tegelijk dynamische uitstraling geeft. Rode velgen, tapes en banden met offroaddesign gaan hand in hand met goudkleurige remklauwen vooraan. Een donker getinte voorruit, een rood-zwarte zitting, roestvrijstalen inzetstukken in de voetplaten en handbeschermers als optioneel accessoire maken de robuuste look compleet. De inzetstukken in de voetplaten en de geanodiseerde eindgewichten van het stuur zijn als originele BMW Motorrad accessoires verkrijgbaar voor de BMW C 400 X en BMW C 400 GT.

De toegankelijkheid van op de grond van de BMW C 400 GT werd geoptimaliseerd om het comfort en de ergonomie verder te verbeteren.

Naast de standaard metaalkleurige versie Blackstorm met zwarte zitting, zwarte velgen en zwarte remklauwen vooraan is de BMW C 400 GT ook verkrijgbaar in de nieuwe ‘Exclusive’-versie.

Munich. Model year 2019 sees a number of model revision measures included in the BMW Motorrad program. The models can be ordered from all BMW Motorrad partners in the new configuration from August 2018.

New comfort turn indicators for increased user-friendliness and safety as standard.
As a general measure as part of the model revision, comfort turn indicators will be included in the standard trim of most BMW Motorrad models from model year 2019 onwards (exceptions: C 650 Sport, C 650 GT, G 310 GS, G 310 R, F 800 R, F 800 GT, S 1000 RR and S 1000 R). Depending on road speed, various reset conditions apply with the new comfort turn indicators; previously turn indicator deactivation was based on a fixed time or distance.

BMW Motorrad Connectivity.
The BMW Motorrad Connected app will receive a major update to version 1.6. The app will then offer additional functions and enhancements that were proposed by the BMW Motorrad community. The digital maps will be completely revised and will be based on the motorcycle optimized navigation by TomTom. As one of the most requested features, the navigation option “winding route” will be introduced. To use the new functions, the customer only needs to update the app in the beginning of August and download the new maps free of charge before starting the next ride.

The world premiere of the all-new BMW 5 Series Long Wheelbase is one of the main highlights of the Auto Shanghai 2017 show. The new business sedan is the successor to the current front-runner in the Chinese car market’s premium segment and comes with all the right credentials for cementing this leading status. Likewise making its debut public appearance is the latest special-edition version of the BMW i8 plug-in hybrid sports car. And Auto Shanghai 2017 also hosts the Asian premieres of the BMW Concept X2, revised BMW 4 Series models and new services from BMW Connected created specifically for the Chinese market.

The time-honoured MINI brand is also represented at Auto Shanghai 2017 with a world premiere. The new MINI John Cooper Works Countryman, a talented all-rounder with stand-out performance attributes, is making its first public appearance. And BMW Motorrad is kicking off its 2017 product offensive with the presentation of the revised BMW S 1000 RR and BMW S 1000 XR, plus an ultra-exclusive new model.

Auto Shanghai is one of the most important motor shows of the year for the global automotive industry. It has taken place every other year since 1985, alternating with the Auto China show in Beijing on the motoring calendar. The National Exhibition and Convention Center in the west of Shanghai opened its doors in 2015 and invites vehicle manufacturers, suppliers and service providers from around the world to display their products across an area measuring some 400,000 square metres. The 17th edition of the Auto Shanghai show will see more than 1,100 exhibitors present their new models, technological innovations and service offerings to the public from 21 – 28 April 2017.

World premiere: the all-new BMW 5 Series Long Wheelbase.

Taking centre stage at the BMW brand’s stand at Auto Shanghai 2017 is the world premiere of the all-new BMW 5 Series Long Wheelbase. The new model is being built by BMW Brilliance Automotive Ltd. exclusively for the Chinese market at the Shenyang facility.

Its 133-millimetre-longer wheelbase imbues the business sedan’s exterior with elegantly stretched proportions which blend harmoniously into its contemporary looks. State-of-the-art powertrain and chassis technology underpin an exceptional balance between BMW’s hallmark dynamic driving ability and supreme ride comfort. The all-new BMW 5 Series Long Wheelbase is up to 130 kilograms lighter than its predecessor and boasts enhanced aerodynamics.

Generous kneeroom, optimised soundproofing and a host of innovative equipment features – such as the electrically adjustable comfort seats, Ambient Air package and Sky Lounge Panorama glass roof – elevate on-board comfort in the rear to an even higher level. As well as the iDrive system and a further improved voice control system, the display and control concept also encompasses a touchscreen monitor and BMW gesture control.

World premiere: the BMW i8 Protonic Frozen Yellow Edition.

The BMW Group is also building on its successful track record in sustainable mobility, where BMW i has played a significant role. The BMW eDrive drive system technology originally developed for the all-electric BMW i3 and BMW i8 plug-in hybrid sports car can now be experienced in six BMW model ranges and one MINI. Indeed, fuelled by the popularity of the BMW i and BMW iPerformance models, the BMW Group is now the most successful manufacturer of plug-in hybrid models for the premium segment globally.

The BMW i8, for example, has developed into the world’s highest-selling plug-in hybrid sports car. And its appeal is given fresh lustre at Auto Shanghai 2017 with the presentation for the first time of the BMW i8 Protonic Frozen Yellow Edition. This latest special edition stands out with its exclusive Protonic Frozen Yellow paint finish, newly designed 20-inch light-alloy wheels and distinctive interior design cues.

Asian premiere: the BMW Concept X2.

The BMW Concept X2 is celebrating its Asian premiere in Shanghai. The new vehicle concept for the premium compact segment combines the robust and functionally accomplished character of a BMW X model with the low-slung proportions of a coupe. Among the signature X elements are muscular surfaces, large, almost squared-off wheel arches and stylistic underfloor protection. The long wheelbase, short overhangs, flowing roofline and slim side window graphic lend the silhouette of the BMW Concept X2 a svelte and dynamic appearance.

Asian premiere: the new BMW 4 Series model range.

The new BMW 4 Series models will be introduced to the public in Asia for the first time with detailed revisions to their design and optimised chassis technology. LED headlights and LED rear lights now come as standard for the BMW 4 Series Coupe, BMW 4 Series Convertible and BMW 4 Series Gran Coupe, as does a refined premium ambience in the interior. If the optional Navigation system Professional is specified, the iDrive operating system also features a new tile-style menu layout with constantly updated content. And the Multifunctional Instrument Display can now also be ordered as an option.

BMW Connected with services developed specially for China.

With mobility, communication and infotainment services tailored specially to BMW’s Chinese target group, BMW Connected presents a premium digital offering unmatched in the country. The BMW Connected personalised mobility assistant’s China-specific functionality includes customer support among its suite of services. BMW Connected allows smartphone users to coordinate communications with a selected BMW dealer and arrange service appointments. BMW Connected also supplies users in China with information on traffic offences. And customers can make use of online-based lifestyle, social media and entertainment services selected specially for the Chinese market and with bespoke functionality.

World premiere: the new MINI John Cooper Works Countryman.

The MINI brand is showing off its sporty side at Auto Shanghai 2017, with the world premiere of the new MINI John Cooper Works Countryman commanding the limelight. The latest John Cooper Works machine is the largest and most versatile elite performance model in the British car maker’s portfolio. The brand’s most powerful engine, eight-speed Steptronic Sport transmission (fitted as standard in cars for the Chinese market), ALL4 all-wheel drive and sports suspension, plus the aerodynamically optimised body and sports-car cockpit aura come together into a sublime overall package to deliver standout performance and a race feeling that will capture the imagination.

The new-generation MINI sees the British manufacturer also strengthening its position as the leading maker of premium vehicles in the small car and compact segments in China. The MINI 3-door and MINI 5-door are each available with a selection of three engines in the country, and MINI Convertible customers there can choose from two variants. In the premium compact segment, the MINI Clubman can be ordered with one of three engines and the MINI Countryman with a choice of two, plus ALL4 all-wheel drive as an option.
