Munich. Additions to the line-up of drive systems and
the range of optional extras are set to further increase the appeal
and diversity of the BMW product range from spring 2024. The BMW i5
Berline and BMW iX2 fully electric models will each be available from
March 2024 with an additional drive system variant. The drive system
offerings for the BMW X2 and BMW XM have also been expanded. And
additional exterior paint finishes will be offered for the BMW 5
Series Berline, BMW X2 and BMW iX2. Customers will also be able to
order the business berline with new variants of the BMW Individual
Merino leather trim.

Attractive new features will also be introduced in spring 2024 in the
area of digital services. These include easier use of the voice
assistant Siri (as part of the integration of the Apple iPhone into
cars specified with BMW Operating System 9), and the optimised display
of ratings for charging stations for fully electric and plug-in hybrid
BMW models. The steady expansion of the range of functions for the My
BMW App also continues.

BMW i5 xDrive40: third fully electric variant of the business berline.

A third fully electric variant will be added to the new BMW 5 Series
Berline line-up in March 2024. The new BMW i5 xDrive40 Berline
(electric power consumption, combined: 20.0 – 17.2 kWh/100 km in the
WLTP cycle) has two highly integrated electric drive units at the
front and rear axle which together develop a system output of up to
290 kW/394 hp and peak torque of 590 Nm (435 lb-ft). Underpinned by
the resultant electric all-wheel drive, the BMW i5 xDrive40 Berline
accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 5.4 seconds. Its top speed
is limited to 215 km/h (134 mph).

The third fully electric model variant of the new business berline
stores its energy in a high-voltage battery positioned deep in the
vehicle floor. The battery delivers 81.2 kWh of usable energy. The
car’s Combined Charging Unit enables AC charging at a rate of 11 kW as
standard and 22 kW as an option. And it also allows DC charging at
fast-charging stations at up to 205 kW. This means the range of the
BMW i5 xDrive40 Berline can be increased by 156 kilometres (97 miles)
in the space of ten minutes. The likewise standard Plug & Charge
Multi Contract function enables automatic authentication of the car at
public charging points. The range of the new BMW i5 xDrive40 Berline
as calculated in the WLTP cycle is 463 – 538 kilometres (288 – 334 miles).

Additional exterior paint finishes can be specified for all model
variants of the new BMW 5 Series Berline from March 2024. The spectrum
of colours will now also include the BMW Individual Frozen Portimao
Blue metallic. At the same time, the business berline will also be
offered with extremely exclusive BMW Individual special paint
finishes. BMW Individual has come up with around 150 eye-catching
shades (solid, metallic and matt) for this product area. All BMW
Individual special paint finishes stand out with their impressive
depth of colour and exceptional lustre. Customers can unlock an
overview of the variants for the new BMW 5 Series Berline using the
BMW Individual Visualizer, which can be accessed via a link in the
vehicle configurator.

Added to which, extra variants of the seat and interior surfaces for
the new BMW 5 Series Berline are also available. If the optional
comfort seats have been specified, the BMW Individual Merino leather
trim can also be specified in the bi-colour variants Dark Violet/Atlas
Grey and Taupe Grey/Atlas Grey from March 2024.

New entry-level variant for the BMW iX2; launch of the BMW X2 xDrive20d.

BMW’s current model offensive in the area of electric mobility also
brings additional variety to the premium compact segment. A new
entry-level variant of the fully electric BMW iX2 will go on sale in
March 2024. The new BMW iX2 eDrive20 (electric power consumption,
combined: 16.9 – 15.3 kWh/100 km in the WLTP cycle) takes a
particularly economical route to delivering locally emission-free
driving pleasure in a compact Sports Activity Coupé (SAC). Powered by
a 150 kW/204 hp electric motor at the front axle, it sprints from 0 to
100 km/h (62 mph) in 8.6 seconds and posts a range of 439 –
478 kilometres (273 – 297 miles) in the WLTP cycle. Its top speed is
limited to 170 km/h (106 mph).

The high-voltage battery in the new BMW iX2 eDrive20 serves up
64.78 kWh of usable energy and can be charged from AC sources at 11 kW
as standard and up to 22 kW as an option. DC charging is possible at
up to 130 kW. Thanks to extremely efficient charging software and
predictive heat management capability, brief stops are enough to
significantly increase the battery charge. In ten minutes hooked up to
a fast-charging station, the BMW iX2 eDrive20 can take on sufficient
energy to boost its range by 120 kilometres (75 miles). The
BMW iX2 eDrive20 is also equipped for using the Plug & Charge
Multi Contract function as standard.

Lining up alongside the new entry-level variant of the BMW iX2 is the
new BMW X2 xDrive20d (fuel consumption, combined: 5.2 – 4.8 litres/100
km [54.3 – 58.9 mpg imp]; CO2 emissions, combined:
136 – 125 g/km in the WLTP cycle). The second diesel variant of the
compact SAC is distinguished by even more rapid power delivery and
even greater efficiency courtesy of 48V mild hybrid technology. Its
2.0-litre four-cylinder engine links up with an electric motor
integrated into the seven-speed Steptronic transmission with double
clutch. The motor serves as a crankshaft-driven starter generator and
can both ease the load on the diesel engine and act in unison with it.
The drive system develops maximum output of 120 kW/163 hp (developed
by the combination of the combustion engine with up to 110 kW/150 hp
and the electric motor with up to 14 kW/19 hp) and peak torque of
400 Nm / 295 lb-ft (developed by the combination of the combustion
engine with up to 360 Nm / 265 lb-ft and the electric motor with up to
55 Nm / 41 lb-ft), all of which is channelled to the road via the
intelligent all-wheel-drive system BMW xDrive. This allows the
BMW X2 xDrive20d to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in
8.6 seconds. Top speed is 207 km/h (129 mph).

From March 2024, all model variants of the new BMW X2 and new BMW iX2
will also be available with an expanded range of exterior paint
finishes (BMW Individual Special Request). Frozen Black metallic is a
new addition to the selection.

BMW XM 50e: high performance with maximum efficiency.

As the latest offshoot of the first ever electrified high-performance
model from BMW M GmbH, the new BMW XM 50e (fuel consumption, combined:
1.7 – 1.3 litres/100 km [166.2 – 217.3 mpg imp]; electric power
consumption, combined: 32.2 – 31.5 kWh/100 km;
CO2 emissions, combined: 37 – 30 g/km in the WLTP cycle)
blends signature M dynamism, extrovert design and progressive interior
luxury with maximum efficiency. Its M HYBRID drive system is composed
of a six-cylinder in-line petrol engine and an electric motor
integrated, together with its power electronics, into the eight-speed
Steptronic Sport transmission. This combination produces system output
of 350 kW/476 hp (developed by the combination of the combustion
engine with up to 230 kW/313 hp and the electric motor with up to
145 kW/197 hp) and maximum system torque of 700 Nm / 516 lb-ft
(developed by the combination of the combustion engine with up to
450 Nm / 332 lb-ft and the electric motor with up to 280 Nm / 206 lb-ft).

The latest version of the 3.0-litre combustion engine fitted in the
BMW XM 50e owes its enhanced performance characteristics among other
things to the Miller combustion cycle, dual injection, an exhaust
manifold integrated into the cylinder head and VANOS variable camshaft
timing, which now works electrically. The electric motor has a
pre-gearing stage patented by BMW, which allows the effective torque
at the transmission input for the motor to be increased to 450 Nm (332
lb-ft). The top speed of the high-performance model – which is also
equipped with the all-wheel-drive system M xDrive – is an
electronically limited 250 km/h (155 mph). Thanks to an electric range
of 77 – 83 kilometres (48 – 52 miles) in the WLTP cycle, the BMW XM
50e can cover much of its everyday mileage – e.g. in urban centres –
with zero local emissions. And it can also be driven on electric power
alone beyond the city limits at speeds of up to 140 km/h (87 mph).

The most efficient version of the new M HYBRID system comes together
with the extraordinary presence of the unmistakable high-performance
model in the Sports Activity Vehicle segment. The model-specific
design features of the new variant include the black accent band along
the sides of the car, plus a surround for the BMW kidney grille and
trim detailing for the rear diffuser (both in Pearl-effect Chrome),
exhaust tailpipe trim in Black high-gloss and silver-coloured
bordering for the model badge. Customers wishing to bring an extra
personal touch to the interior of their new BMW XM 50e – which also
offers a unique combination of modern sports car flair and extravagant
luxury with its M-specific cockpit, M multifunction seats, sculptural
headliner and M Lounge in the rear compartment – can specify features
including exclusive Vintage leather for the upper section of the
instrument panel and door trim panels.

New digital services, My BMW App with additional functions.

Among the digital services available for the first time from spring
2024 is the extended smartphone integration for vehicles equipped with
BMW Operating System 9. This enables the Siri voice assistant for the
Apple iPhone to be activated directly by voice command and without
needing to also press the push-to-talk button. Elsewhere, the
cloud-based navigation system BMW Maps now boasts improved display of
information on charging stations. The available images and ratings are
shown both in the list of search results and in the detailed display.
The charging station ratings will now be shown clearly on a scale of
zero to five stars.

Added to which, in numerous European countries the BMW iDrive display
and control/operation system in many current models also enables
digital payment of parking fees and – in Germany – also fuel top-ups
from inside the car. As with payment of parking fees, this uses the
credit card information pre-stored in the vehicle apps.

As a universal digital interface for data exchange between the
customer and their car, the My BMW App offers an ever-expanding number
of functions. From spring 2024, Comfort Access with the BMW Digital
Key Plus will be integrated into the My BMW App in vehicles equipped
with BMW Operating System 8, 8.5 or 9. In addition, the map view for
selecting navigation destinations imported into the vehicle has been
newly designed. This also improves the search function and the
visibility of the most relevant content. Map and routing functions
will in future be proposed based on current vehicle or user contexts.

Finally, the new E-mobility Analysis function will also be added to
the My Trips menu item in the My BMW App. Based on the customer’s
driving behaviour, this function proposes the BMW model with
all-electric drive system most suited to them. These recommendations
are intended to help spark interest among users of combustion-engined
vehicles in switching to an electric vehicle.

Munich. The highly distinctive design of the BMW X2
projects a sense of athleticism that accurately reflects the car’s
sporty driving properties. It also ensures the X2 cuts a visually
alluring figure and stands out from the crowd in the premium compact
segment. The Sports Activity Coupé (SAC) fuses individual lifestyle
attributes with modern functionality and the driving pleasure for
which BMW is renowned. Its powerfully expressive front end, the
flowing lines of its flanks and the BMW logo on each C-pillar
recalling classical BMW coupés from years past also bring visual
uniqueness to the BMW X model family. And from March 2022, the new BMW
X2 Edition GoldPlay will introduce a heightened sense of extrovert
appeal to urban areas and beyond. The new special edition underscores
the singular character of the BMW X2 and combines equipment
highlights, such as the extended M High-gloss Shadow Line, the “X2”
logo projection from the driver’s side mirror or the optionally
available Adaptive LED Headlights including a four-segment matrix
high-beam headlight function, turning lights and adaptive light
distribution, with exclusive exterior details and special interior
appointments that add an extra layer to an already richly engaging
driving experience.

The new BMW X2 Edition GoldPlay will be offered with all the drive
system variants available for the compact SAC. Among these are the
plug-in hybrid BMW X2 xDrive25e (fuel consumption, combined: 1.8 – 1.7
l/100 km [156.9 – 166.2 mpg imp]; electric power consumption,
combined: 15.2 – 14.9 kWh/100 km; CO2 emissions, combined: 42 – 38
g/km based on the WLTP cycle) and super-sporting BMW X2 M35i (fuel
consumption, combined: 8.1 – 7.5 l/100 km [34.9 – 37.7 mpg imp]; CO2
emissions, combined: 185 – 170 g/km based on the WLTP cycle).

Stylish extravagance with accents in Galvanic
Gold.
The new BMW X2 Edition GoldPlay
combines its exclusive exterior and interior appointments with the
design and equipment features found in X2 variants with M Sport
specification. M Sport suspension with a 10-millimetre lower ride
height and M Sport steering optimise the dynamic potential of the
compact SAC. Added to which, a large, three-section lower air intake
in the front apron, front and rear bumper panels with inserts in Dark
Shadow, wheel arch trim and lower door edging in body colour, M
High-gloss Shadow Line trim and the M Aerodynamics package give the
car a muscular appearance. The surrounds for the side windows, window
recess covers, B-pillar trim and embellisher surrounds on the
C-pillar, mirror cover panels and mirror frames (incl. mirror
triangle) are finished in High-gloss Black on the special-edition car,
as are the exhaust tailpipe finishers and border for the BMW logo on
the tailgate.

Adorning the front of the car is the M Mesh kidney grille in
High-gloss Black whose mesh structure is inspired by racing cars. The
styling extravagance that marks out this special-edition X2 is
headlined by the use of the exclusive colour shade Galvanic Gold for
the kidney grille surround and exterior mirror caps. Eye-catching
inserts in Galvanic Gold also adorn the 19-inch M aerodynamic wheels
of the special-edition car. 20-inch M aerodynamic wheels are available
as an option, and likewise come with Galvanic Gold inserts.

New exterior colours, striking foliation.
The exterior colour San Remo Green metallic is
reserved exclusively for the GoldPlay Edition. This is the first time
this colour shade has been available for the BMW X2. Customers can
also specify their cars in Alpine White non-metallic, M Misano Blue
metallic, Sapphire Black metallic, Skyscraper Grey metallic and the
BMW Individual paint finishes Storm Bay metallic, Frozen Black
metallic and Frozen Pure Grey metallic. The Galvanic Gold side
foliation on the doors and the front and rear side panels are another
exclusive addition.

On cars ordered with either of the two matt Frozen paint finishes,
both the foliation and the Galvanic Gold accents for the BMW kidney
grille and exterior mirror caps are deleted. The grille surround is
instead finished in Black and the mirror caps are painted in body
colour. This design variant can also be chosen with the other exterior
colour shades.

The interior: sporting ambience with innovative
details.
M-specific equipment features
combine with innovative details to create a sporty and exclusive
ambience inside the BMW X2 Edition GoldPlay. The M leather steering
wheel with multifunction buttons, anthracite-coloured headliner, M
stainless steel pedals, M driver’s footrest and car key with
distinctive M identifier underscore the sporting instincts of the
special edition. Judiciously placed accents create a stylistic
connection with the exterior design. These include door sill strips
which have a surface structure derived from the BMW kidney grille’s
mesh design and bear “Edition” lettering in Galvanic Gold. Around the
instrument panel on the front passenger side of the cabin, the Dark
Graphite matt trim strips – likewise a bespoke design for the GoldPlay
Edition – display a graphic referencing the exterior foliation. For
the first time, a laser engraving technique is used, which applies the
graphic in the colour Golden Mica metallic on the surface of the strip
and seals it with clear varnish.

Another highlight of the bespoke interior appointments for the
special-edition model are the M sport seats with particularly
prominent side bolsters and integral head restraints for the driver
and front passenger. These are trimmed in an exclusive Dakota leather
trim variant. The black leather surfaces of the driver’s seat and
front passenger seat are perforated through the centre section of the
backrests. Contrast stitching and piping in Giallo Oro – a golden
yellow colour shade – add a distinctive flourish. Plus, the M sport
seats also feature a High-gloss Black border for the cut-out below the
head restraints and a BMW M GmbH logo flag label on the backrest piping.

The special-edition model also comes with gold-coloured contrast
stitching for the instrument panel, centre console, and outer and
centre armrests of the front seats. The edge binding for the
anthracite-coloured floor mats is likewise in Giallo Oro. The
exception here is the BMW X2 xDrive25e, which features
anthracite-coloured floor mats with grey piping in both its standard
and special-edition form.

Wide range of drive options, extensive standard equipment.
In addition to the plug-in hybrid model and
ultra-sporty BMW X2 M35i – which employs a 225 kW/306 hp four-cylinder
engine with TwinPower Turbo technology, an eight-speed Steptronic
Sport transmission, a mechanical M Sport differential at the front
axle and the BMW xDrive intelligent all-wheel-drive system to deliver
standout performance – customers can choose from another eight further
drive variants for the new special edition to choose from. The range
of products ranges from the BMW X2 sDrive18i (combined fuel
consumption: 7.1 – 6.1 l/100 km [39.8 – 46.3 mpg imp]; combined CO2
emissions: 161 – 138 g/km preliminary figures based on the WLTP cycle)
with 100 kW/136 hp to the 170 kW/231 hp BMW X2 xDrive25d (combined
fuel consumption: 6.3 – 5.7 l/100 km [44.8 – 49.6 mpg imp]; Combined
CO2 emissions: 165 – 148 g/km preliminary figures based on the WLTP
cycle) and includes two petrol and three diesel engines. Depending on
the drive variant, they deliver their power to a 6-speed manual
transmission, a 7-speed Steptronic transmission with double clutch or
an 8-speed Steptronic transmission. With the exception of the
entry-level version, the all-wheel drive system BMW xDrive is
optionally available for all models, which is standard on the BMW X2 xDrive25d.

The specific design and equipment features of the BMW X2 Edition
GoldPlay enhance the premium character of the compact SAC to visually
stunning effect. Its extensive standard equipment comprises items such
as LED headlights with integral bad weather light, automatic tailgate
operation, two-zone automatic climate control and a lighting package
(including outside door handle light, ground lighting, exterior mirror
lighting and door entry light, plus an “X2” logo projection from the
driver’s side exterior mirror). Comfort, safety and driving pleasure
are further boosted by Cruise Control with brake function, Park
Distance Control with sensors at the rear of the car, Collision
Warning with city braking function, Speed Limit Display with
no-overtaking indicator, the iDrive control system optionally with
freestanding 10.25-inch touchscreen display and the optionally
available full-colour BMW Head-Up Display.

Press Contact: Jeroen Lissens
Tel: +32-3-890-9708
e-mailadres: jeroen.lissens@bmw.be

Press Release,X2,F39,X2 xDrive25e

Munich. The sales launch of the BMW iX and the BMW i4
in November 2021 marks the beginning of a new era of purely electric
premium mobility. In addition to sustainable driving pleasure, the two
new models also offer the latest innovations in the field of driver
assistance systems and, with the new generation of the BMW iDrive
operating system, represent the future of intuitive interaction
between driver and vehicle. Parallel to this, the BMW model range will
also undergo targeted further development in autumn 2021. Additional
drive variants and innovations in the areas of design and digital
services increase the diversity and attractiveness of the current range.

The model range of the new BMW 4 Series Convertible will be expanded
by three new drive variants from November 2021. In future, an 8-speed
Steptronic transmission will be standard equipment for one additional
model variant each of the BMW X1 and the BMW X2. New paint finishes
are available for the BMW 1 Series, BMW 2 Series Gran Coupé, BMW X2,
BMW X3 and BMW X4 models. The functional scope of the My BMW App is
complemented by further digital services. The BMW i brand is not only
setting trends with its two new models. The pioneer of all-electric
premium mobility, the BMW i3, will be offered in a limited Unique
Forever Edition from November 2021. And in the BMW iX3, a predictive
battery heat management system will optimise the way in which DC fast
charging stations will be used in the future.

BMW 4 Series Convertible: Two additional BMW M automobiles and
a further all-wheel drive model.
The combination of
sporty performance and open-air pleasure in a BMW 4 Series model will
be enriched even further in autumn 2021. In the new BMW M 440i
Convertible (combined fuel consumption: 8.3 – 7.7 l/100 km according
to WLTP; combined CO2 emissions: 190 - 175 g/km according
to WLTP), a 275 kW/374 hp inline 6-cylinder petrol engine with 48-volt
mild hybrid technology ensures particularly purist driving pleasure by
transferring its power to the rear wheels. An 8-speed Steptronic
sports transmission and an M sports differential in the final drive
also contribute to the thrilling driving dynamics as standard. This is
reflected, among other things, by accerlation from 0 - 100 km/h from
standstill in 5.2 seconds.

An inline 6-cylinder diesel engine and the intelligent BMW xDrive
all-wheel drive system make the second new BMW M automobile a
thrilling open-top drive. With a peak output of 250 kW/340 hp, a
maximum torque of 700 Nm and 48-volt mild hybrid technology, the new
BMW M440d xDrive Convertible (combined fuel consumption: 6.6 – 6.0
l/100 km according to WLTP; combined CO2 emissions:
172 - 157 g/km according to WLTP) has impressive pulling power.
5.0 seconds are sufficient for the sprint from 0 to 100 km/h. An
8-speed Steptronic sports transmission and an M sports differential
are also standard equipment in this model variant.

In addition, the model range for the open-top four-seater in the
premium mid-size segment is expanded to include the new BMW 430i
xDrive Convertible (combined fuel consumption: 8.1 – 7.3 l/100 km
according to WLTP; combined CO2 emissions: 183 - 166 g/km
according to WLTP). With its 180 kW/245 hp 4-cylinder petrol engine,
an 8-speed Steptronic transmission and intelligent all-wheel drive, it
accelerates from zero to 100 km/h in 6.3 seconds. The 8-speed
Steptronic sports transmission and the M sports differential are
optionally available for this model.

BMW X1 xDrive18d and BMW X2 xDrive18d now feature 8-speed
Steptronic transmission as standard.
Driving pleasure
and comfort will be enhanced in autumn 2021 as the 8-speed Steptronic
transmission is included in further model variants of the BMW X1 and
BMW X2 as standard. The fast and efficient automatic transmission is
characterised by a high level of shifting comfort and a particularly
favourable internal efficiency. In future, it will also be available
as standard with the 110 kW/150 hp 4-cylinder diesel engine of the BMW
X1 xDrive18d models (combined fuel consumption: 6.1 – 5.4 l/100 km
according to WLTP; combined CO2 emissions: 159 – 142 g/km
according to WLTP) and the BMW X2 xDrive18d (combined fuel
consumption: 6.1 – 5.4 l/100 km according to WLTP; combined
CO2 emissions: 160 - 142 g/km according to WLTP).

With the new drive combination, both models accelerate from zero to
100 km/h in 9.4 seconds. An optional 8-speed Steptronic sports
transmission is also available, operated by paddle shifts on the
steering wheel.

New paint finishes for numerous model
series.
New paint finishes for numerous current BMW
models allow for additional customisation opportunities. The
Skyscraper Grey metallic variant will be available for the BMW 1
Series, the BMW X2 and the BMW X3 from November 2021. Also new to the
range are the BMW Individual paint finishes Frozen Pure Grey metallic
for the BMW 1 Series and the BMW 2 Series Gran Coupé, as well as
Aventurine Red metallic for the BMW X3 and the BMW X4.

My BMW App with extended range of
functions.
Planning travel routes and transferring them
to the car, receiving information about the car’ status and live
images from its surroundings, arranging service appointments or
receiving news from the brand - the My BMW app makes all this possible
on the customer's smartphone. It serves as a universal interface for
communication between car and customer, the BMW brand and the BMW
dealer. The range of functions of the My BMW App will be expanded
again in autumn 2021. In future, for example, the images transmitted
by the Remote 3D View service will be stored in a gallery, including
information about the location and time of the shots. The status of
the vehicle's air conditioning and ventilation is now also clearly
displayed in the My BMW app.

In addition, the My BMW app now also provides drivers with
comprehensive information on the condition of the vehicle's tyres on
their smartphone. This new feature helps to minimise the risk of
breakdowns and is available for the BMW 1 Series, BMW 3 Series and BMW
4 Series models, the new BMW 2 Series Coupé, the BMW 2 Series Gran
Coupé, the BMW Z4 as well as the BMW X5, BMW X6 and BMW X7. The My BMW
app displays the wheel-specific values as measured by the tyre
pressure system. In addition, the digital tyre diagnosis, which is
unique in the competitive environment, can also transmit information
about a defect or wear of the tyres via the My BMW app. In the BMW
backend, the data from the tyre pressure control system is processed
together with the values for temperature and wheel speeds to create a
forecast of the remaining life of the tyres. As a supplement to tyre
pressure control, indications of tyre damage are also registered.

Intelligent battery heat management for the BMW
iX3.
To ensure the fastest and most efficient power feed
at DC fast-charging stations, regardless of operating and outside
temperatures, the BMW iX3 (combined power consumption: 19.0 - 18.6
L/100 km according to WLTP, 18.5 - 18.9 L/100 km according to NEDC)
will be equipped with intelligent thermal management for the
high-voltage battery as in the BMW i4 / BMW iX from November 2021. As
soon as the active route guidance of the navigation system foresees a
stopover at a High Power Charging Station, it already ensures that the
battery is automatically preconditioned before arrival.

The appropriate heating or cooling ensures that the high-voltage
battery is at the ideal temperature for charging at maximum power on
arrival. The thermal management takes into account, among other
things, the battery temperature, the remaining range, the predicted
charging power and the planned scope of the charging process as part
of the overall route calculation.

BMW i3 and BMW i3s in the Unique Forever
Edition.
From November 2021, the BMW i3 models (combined
electricity consumption: 16.3 - 15.3 L/100 km according to WLTP, 13.1
L/100 km according to NEDC and BMW i3s (combined electricity
consumption: 16.6 - 16.3 L/100 km according to WLTP, 14.6 - 14.0 L/100
km according to NEDC) in the Unique Forever Edition. The naming of the
new special edition refers to the unique character of the world's
first premium automobile designed from the outset for purely electric
mobility. The BMW i3 represents a holistic understanding of
sustainability not only with its drive system, but also with its
particularly lightweight passenger cell made of carbon
fibre-reinforced plastic (CFRP) and extensive use of natural and
recycled materials in its interior. Eight years after being launched
on the market, it is still a globally recognised symbol of locally
emission-free urban mobility.

The edition vehicles are characterised by particularly high-grade and
exclusive design and equipment features. The two BMW Individual paint
finishes, available for the first time for the BMW i3, ensure a
stylish appearance. The Aventurine Red metallic variant is combined
with an accent in Frozen Grey metallic and the Storm Bay metallic
paint finish with an accent in Frozen E-Copper. The interior surfaces
of the BMW grille are also finished in the respective accent colour.
Other special features include the omission of the trim strip and
model lettering on the luggage compartment lid and a black insert for
the rear bumper. In the interior of the edition vehicles, the contents
of the Suite equipment world - including the Vernasca Dark Truffle
leather combination, the leather instrument panel, the fine wood
surface in dark matt oak, the leather steering wheel, the Carum grey
roof lining and the ambient lighting - are supplemented by specific
design elements. The front headrests are embroidered with the words
"Unique Forever", the door trim panels in the area of the
exterior mirrors bear the inscription "One of 2,000“.

The Unique Forever Edition models are produced in a limited edition
of 2,000 units at the BMW plant in Leipzig. Only electricity generated
by the wind turbines on the factory premises is used.

Munich. Increased efficiency through consistent
electrification, optimised emissions and innovations in the areas of
driver assistance and digital services are the focus of the model
revision measures for numerous BMW model series that will take effect
in autumn 2020. From November 2020, all models of the premium brand
will meet the requirements of the currently strictest exhaust emission
standard Euro 6d. In the BMW 5 Series, the range of plug-in hybrid
models has been extended by three new variants. New inline 6-cylinder
diesel engines and 48-volt mild hybrid technology lower fuel
consumption and emissions of selected models in the BMW 3 Series and
BMW 8 Series. In addition, further engines will supplement the drive
portfolio of the BMW 1 Series and the BMW 2 Series Gran Coupé.

Efficiency becomes more diverse: World premiere for five
plug-in hybrid models in the BMW 5 Series.
The range of BMW models with electrified drive
systems will also be consistently expanded in autumn 2020. The
expanded range of the following electrified models is especially
attractive: BMW 545e xDrive Sedan (fuel consumption combined:
2.3 – 2.2 l/100 km; combined power consumption:
16.3 – 15.8 kWh/100 km; combined CO2 emissions:
53 – 49 g/km; electric range: 47 – 57 km), BMW 530e Touring (combined
fuel consumption: 2.0 – 1.8 l/100 km; combined power consumption:
16.1 – 15.4 kWh/100 km; combined CO2 emissions:
46 – 42 g/km; electric range: 52 – 57 km (WLTP)) and BMW 530e xDrive
Touring (combined fuel consumption: 2.4 – 2.2 l/100 km; combined power
consumption: 16.7 – 16.1 kWh/100 km; combined CO2
emissions: 54 – 50 g/km; electric range: 48 – 53 km (WLTP)). The BMW 5
Series model range now already includes five plug-in hybrid variants.
In the upper mid-size class, BMW offers the largest selection of
models with electrified drive.

In the new BMW 545e xDrive Sedan, an inline 6-cylinder petrol engine
and an electric drive integrated into the 8-speed Steptronic
transmission deliver impressive driving dynamics in a particularly
efficient manner. The power of the two drive units adds up to a
maximum system output of 290 kW/394 hp and is distributed between the
front and rear wheels as required by the intelligent BMW xDrive
all-wheel drive. The brand’s hallmark combination of energy efficiency
and sportiness also characterises the new Touring models, whose
plug-in hybrid system consists of a 4-cylinder petrol engine and an
electric drive system also integrated into the 8-speed Steptronic
transmission. Together they generate a system output of up to 215
kW/292 hp in the XtraBoost mode when load requirements are
particularly high.

Increased dynamic performance and reduced fuel consumption:
New inline 6-cylinder diesel engines with 48-volt mild hybrid
technology in the BMW 3 Series and BMW 8 Series.
With the introduction of 48-volt mild hybrid
technology in additional models, BMW continues to consistently reduce
fuel consumption and emissions in its current vehicle fleet. This is
linked to the introduction of a new generation of inline 6-cylinder
diesel engines. As of autumn 2020, four mid-size models of the BMW 3
Series and three luxury sports cars of the BMW 8 Series will offer
noticeably more dynamic performance and increased efficiency.

This twofold and BMW typical progress is achieved through further
advanced BMW TwinPower Turbo technology and additionally with the aid
of a particularly powerful starter generator and an additional
battery. The dynamic power delivery when starting off and accelerating
is enhanced by the additional power of 8 kW/11 hp spontaneously
provided by the 48-volt starter generator. In other load ranges the
electric drive can relieve the combustion engine and thus increase its
efficiency. The power required for this is generated by intensive
recuperation in braking and thrust phases and stored in a 48-volt
battery, which also supplies the vehicle’s electrical system.

The 48-volt mild hybrid technology will be used in four further BMW 3
Series models from November 2020. In the new BMW 330d Sedan (combined
fuel consumption: 4.7 – 4.4 l/100 km*; combined CO2
emissions: 125 – 116 g/km*) and the new BMW 330d Xdrive Sedan
(combined fuel consumption: 5.0 – 4.7 l/100 km*; combined
CO2 emissions: 132 – 123 g/km*) and the new BMW 330d
Touring (combined fuel consumption: 4.8 – 4.5 l/100 km*; combined
CO2 emissions: 128 – 119 g/km*) and the new BMW 330d Xdrive
Touring (combined fuel consumption: 5.2 – 4.8 l/100 km*; combined
CO2 emissions: 136 – 127 g/km), it supports the new inline
6-cylinder diesel engine, which already provides additional driving
pleasure with its maximum output increased by 15 kW/21 hp to 210
kW/286 hp. Thanks to a two-stage turbocharging system and an advanced
common rail injection system whose piezo injectors now inject the fuel
with up to ten injections per working cycle and a maximum pressure of
2 700 bar into the combustion chambers, engine response and efficiency
of the 3.0 litre engine are optimised. The new diesel engine generates
its maximum torque, which has been increased by 30 to 650 Nm, between
1 500 and 2 500 rpm. The increased power of the combustion engine and
the additional electrical power noticeably improve the car’s sprint
capacity. For example, the new BMW 330d Sedan improves its
acceleration from zero to 100 km/h by 0.2 seconds to now 5.3 seconds.

In the BMW 8 Series, 48-volt mild hybrid technology is combined with
an equally new and even more powerful 3.0-litre diesel engine. The BMW
840d xDrive Coupé models (fuel consumption combined:
5.8 – 5.6 l/100 km*; combined CO2 emissions:
154 - 146 g/km), BMW 840d xDrive Convertible (fuel consumption
combined: 6.0 – 5.7 l/100 km*; combined CO2 emissions:
159 – 151 g/km) and BMW 840d xDrive Gran Coupé (combined fuel
consumption: 5.9 – 5.6 l/100 km*; combined CO2 emissions:
155 - 148 g/km) will be powered by a 250 kW/340 hp inline 6-cylinder
engine in the future. The 15 kW/20 hp increase in top-level output
also results from further advanced BMW TwinPower Turbo technology. It
now includes a multi-stage turbocharger with variable turbine geometry
for the high-pressure and low-pressure stages. The maximum torque of
700 Nm is generated alreadybetween 1 750 and 2 250 rpm. In the luxury
sports car model range, the new drive technology enables the BMW 840d
xDrive Coupé, for example, to improve its acceleration figure from a
standing start to 100 km/h by 0.1 seconds to 4.8 seconds. The
optimised performance characteristics of the diesel engine are
accompanied by precisely adapted fine tuning of the chassis and its
control systems.

The new diesel engines for the BMW 3 Series and the BMW 8 Series also
represent the latest state of the art with regard to emissions. They
feature exhaust gas treatment technology, whose engine-proximate
components consist of a diesel oxidation catalytic converter and an
SCR coating on the diesel particulate filter. In order to optimally
reduce nitrogen oxide (NOX) emissions, a second metering unit is
additionally integrated at the outlet of the engine-proximate SCR system.

BMW 1 Series, BMW 2 Series Gran Coupé: Additional engines and
new optional extras.
New engines will be
available from November 2020 for the BMW 1 Series and the BMW 2 Series
Gran Coupé. The new BMW 116i (combined fuel consumption:
5.8 – 5.4 l/100 km*; combined CO2 emissions: 133 – 124
g/km) is powered by a 3-cylinder petrol engine with an output of 80
kW/109 hp and a maximum torque of 190 Nm. It is equipped as standard
with a manual 6-speed transmission and accelerates from zero to 100
km/h in 10.6 seconds. A 7-speed Steptronic transmission with double
clutch is optionally available. In addition, the model range will be
expanded to include the new BMW 120i (fuel consumption combined:
5.8 – 5.5 l/100 km*; combined CO2 emissions:
134 – 126 g/km). Its 4-cylinder petrol engine generates a maximum
output of 131 kW/178 hp and a maximum torque of 280 Nm and is combined
as standard with a 7-speed Steptronic transmission with double clutch.
The new BMW 120i accelerates from a standing start to 100 km/h in 7.0 seconds.

Outstanding economy is the hallmark of the new entry-level diesel
engine for the BMW 2 Series Gran Coupé. The 3-cylinder diesel engine
of the new BMW 216d Gran Coupé (fuel consumption combined:
4.1 – 3.8 l/100 km*; combined CO2 emissions: 108 – 99 g/km)
provides a maximum output of 85 kW/116 hp and a maximum torque of 270
Nm. It transmits its power to a 7-speed Steptronic transmission with
double clutch as standard and enables acceleration from zero to 100
km/h in 10.3 seconds.

The range of optional equipment for the BMW 1 Series and the BMW 2
Series Gran Coupé is supplemented by the BMW Individual Shadow Line
lights. With the black inserts at the upper edge of the headlamps they
make the front view even more powerfully expressive.

Urban Cruise Control: Increased comfort and optimised safety
when driving in urban traffic.
The
increased level of comfort and safety achieved through combined speed
and distance control will also be available in numerous current BMW
models when driving in city traffic from autumn 2020 onwards. In
conjunction with the optional Driving Assistant Professional, the
Urban Cruise Control function is available in the BMW 3 Series and BMW
5 Series, the BMW 6 Series Gran Turismo, the BMW 8 Series and the BMW
X5, BMW X6, BMW X7, BMW M5, BMW M8, BMW X5 M and BMW X6 M model
series. It extends the range of functions of the Active Cruise Control
with Stop & Go function by a traffic light recognition function.
In addition to vehicles and traffic signs ahead, traffic lights
registered by the stereo camera are also taken into account.

In the case of traffic light signals that are clearly related to the
lane you are travelling, these are automatically registered by the
speed and distance control system. If the traffic light is red, the
system decelerates the vehicle to a standstill. A green light signals
the continuation of the journey. In a more complex intersection
situation where, for example, different light signals apply to
different lanes, a traffic light symbol is displayed in the instrument
cluster. The driver can then confirm the light signal shown there and
continue to use the automatic speed and distance control or control
the speed himself. For additional comfort in city traffic there is a
drive reminder function. While stationary at a traffic light, the
current traffic light phase is displayed in the instrument cluster; at
the beginning of the green phase, the driver also receives a signal to
start driving.

The Urban Cruise Control function can also be integrated into the car
at a later date by means of a Remote Software Upgrade. With the
exception of the BMW 8 Series models, this option is available for
vehicles of all the above-mentioned series produced from July 2020
onwards and which are equipped with the Driving Assistant Professional.

New digital services for more driving pleasure: BMW News, BMW
Intelligent Personal Assistant with new functions, personal profile
picture and simple log-in.
The latest
generation of the display and control system makes it possible to use
new digital services in numerous current BMW models. The BMW Operating
System 7, which is available in conjunction with BMW Live Cockpit, BMW
Live Cockpit Plus or BMW Live Cockpit Professional, allows the driver
to customise what is displayed to a very high degree. From November
2020, audio content will also be tailored to the driver’s wishes and
needs with BMW News. Based on the driver’s individual interests,
current online news is selected from publisher offerings and broadcast
in the form of naturally spoken language via the vehicle's audio system.

The BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant is one of the particularly
innovative services that features in current models with BMW Operating
System 7. The digital companion, which enables intuitive operation of
numerous vehicle functions via voice control (“Hey, BMW”), is
constantly gaining new capabilities. From autumn 2020, the operating
modes MAX eDrive and AUTO eDrive or ELECTRIC and HYBRID can also be
activated in the appropriately equipped plug-in hybrid models by means
of a naturally spoken instruction.

Optimised options for creating a driver profile allow further
customisation opportunities. From November 2020, the driver can no
longer only login by entering the BMW ID manually, but also via the My
BMW App as well, making the process very convenient. A QR code
generated for this purpose can be displayed on the Control Display,
which can be scanned using a smartphone. The personal driver profile
data can then be transferred to the vehicle. Also new: The driver can
add a photo of his choice to his individual profile.

BMW X1 and BMW X2: New headlamp variants and BMW Individual
High Gloss Shadow Line with extended features.
Adaptive LED headlights will be available for
the compact BMW X2 Sports Activity Coupé from November 2020. They
optimise visibility when driving at night, among other things by means
of a high beam matrix function. This feature is able to increase the
range of vision while at the same time avoiding any dazzle effect on
other road users. To achieve this, the high beam is divided into
several LED segments that can be activated and deactivated
independently of each other to adapt how the road is illuminated to
the respective traffic situation.

In addition, the striking BMW Individual Shadow Line lights are
available as a new option for the BMW X2 and the BMW X1. The sporty
appearance of the BMW X2 can be further enhanced by the BMW Individual
High Gloss Shadow Line with extended features. In addition to the
high-gloss black side window surrounds, this option includes a black
frame for the BMW kidney grille and tailpipe trims in chrome black.

Wereldpremière van de BMW xDrive25e op het Autosalon in Brussel op 9 januari.</pp:summary>

Munich. The BMW Group is consistently driving its electrification
strategy forward and presents new plug-in hybrid models for an
especially popular and dynamically growing vehicle category. In the
new BMW X1 xDrive25e and the new BMW X2 xDrive25e, the intelligently
controlled interaction between a fuel combustion engine and an
electric motor as well as locally emissions-free travel can be
experienced in the Sports Activity Vehicle (SAV) and Sports Activity
Coupe (SAC) premium segment starting in 2020. A highly efficient
electric drive and a latest-generation lithium-ion battery enable an
electrically powered range of up to 57 kilometres* in the two new
plug-in hybrid models. With an average fuel consumption of 2.1 to
1.9 litres per 100 kilometres* and CO2 emissions between 48 and
43 grams per kilometre* for the BMW X1 xDrive25e and 2.1 to 1.9 litres
per 100 kilometres* and between 47 and 43 grams per kilometre* for the
BMW X2 xDrive25e, both models set a benchmark within their competitive
fields. Combined power consumption of the BMW X1 xDrive25e is 14.3 to
13.8 kWh per 100 kilometres*, the corresponding values of the
BMW X2 xDrive25e are 14.2 to 13.7 kWh per 100 kilometres*. The hybrid
specific all-wheel drive with its fast and precise distribution of
power between the front and rear wheels delivers a high level of
driving pleasure and thrilling agility.

The two plug-in models are an extension to the wide range of BMW
models in the premium compact segment of SAV and SAC vehicles. In
addition to numerous variants featuring extremely efficient petrol and
diesel engines, models with electrified drive will be on offer for the
first time. Thus, the portfolio will include in addition to economical
entry models with a 3-cylinder combustion engine also the new plug-in
hybrid models and the BMW X2 M35i (combined fuel consumption:
7.1 – 6.8 l/100 km; combined CO2 emissions: 163 – 154 g/km*), the
extremely athletic top model with a maximum output of 225 kW/306 hp.
With the extension of its range in the premium compact segment the BMW
Group’s model offensive is gaining further momentum in the area of
plug-in hybrid models. The current selection comprises the
MINI Cooper SE Countryman (combined fuel consumption:
2.1 – 1.9 l/100 km; combined power consumption:
13.9 – 13.5 kWh/100 km; combined CO2 emissions: 47 – 43 g/km*), the
BMW 225xe Active Tourer (combined fuel consumption: 1.9 l/100 km;
combined power consumption: 13.5 kWh/100 km; combined CO2 emissions:
42 g/km*), BMW 3 Series and BMW 5 Series models and plug-in hybrid
luxury sedans of the BMW 7 Series. In future, four BMW X models with
plug-in hybrid drive will also be available. As a pioneer in electric
mobility BMW intends to have more than one million vehicles with
electrified drive on the road by the end of 2021. By 2021, 25 percent
of the vehicles sold by the BMW Group in Europe will feature an
electric drive. By 2025 this figure is scheduled to reach 33 percent
and 50 percent by 2030. The BMW Group plans to extend their portfolio
by additional 25 electrified vehicles by 2023.

The plug-in hybrid system of the new BMW X1 xDrive 25e and the new
BMW X2 xDrive25e consists of a 1.5 litre 3-cylinder petrol engine with
BMW TwinPower Turbo Technology and an electric drive specially
developed for this model. It is taken from the eDrive technology
modular system of the BMW Group. The petrol engine mobilises a peak
output of 92 kW/125 hp and a maximum torque of 220 Newton metres. It
transfers its power to a 6-speed Steptronic transmission and drives
the front wheels. The electric motor generates an output of 70 kW/95
hp and delivers 165 Nm of torque to the rear wheels via a single-speed
transmission. This makes for a hybrid specific all-wheel drive, which
gives both models a unique level of agility in their competitive
fields delivering hallmark SAV and SAC driving pleasure. The highly
responsive power delivery of the electric motor, which delivers its
full torque spontaneously from standstill, enables the driver to react
extremely quickly to changing driving conditions. In addition, the
position of the electric motor above the rear axle contributes to the
harmoniously balanced axle load distribution of the new BMW X1
xDrive25e and the new BMW X2 xDrive25e. In conjunction with the
intelligently controlled interaction between the two power units, it
provides maximum driving stability, ride comfort and dynamic response.

Together the combustion engine and electric motor produce a system
output of 162 kW/220 hp. The maximum system torque of both drive units
is 385 Nm. The new BMW X1 xDrive25e accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in
6.9 seconds. The new BMW X2 xDrive25e does the 0 to 100 km/h sprint in
6.8 seconds. In addition, the electric boost provided by the drive
system ensures additional safety reserves and intense sporty flair
when overtaking on country roads, for example. The top speed of the
new BMW X1 xDrive25e is 193 km/h. Maximum speed of the new
BMW X2 xDrive25e is 195 km/h.

With the very latest high-voltage battery cell technology, the new
BMW X1 xDrive25e and the new BMW X2 xDrive25e possess generous
reserves of electrical energy enabling the driver to conduct the main
share of everyday travel locally emissions-free with the electric
motor alone. The latest-generation lithium-ion battery has a gross
energy content of 10 kWh. This allows for an electrically powered
range of between 54 and 57 kilometres* in the BMW X1 xDrive25e
(between 55 and 57 kilometres* in the new BMW X2 xDrive25e). The
high-voltage battery can be charged at conventional household sockets
using the standard-equipment charging cable. An empty battery can be
fully charged in around five hours in this way. It only takes 3.8
hours for the battery to reach 80 percent of its total capacity. Using
a BMW i Wallbox, the relevant charging operation from 0 to 100 percent
takes less than 3.2 hours. 80 percent of total capacity is already
reached after 2.4 hours. The charging socket is located under a
separate flap on the front left side wall of the car.

The driver can use the eDrive button on the centre console to
influence the drive system’s operating mode. In the AUTO eDRIVE
standard setting, the intelligent drive system ensures optimum
interaction between the two power units in all driving situations.
Navigation data is also used to manage the plug-in hybrid system to
increase both efficiency as well as driving pleasure. When navigation
guidance is activated, the anticipatory energy management can also
take into account the route profile for controlling the drive system.
The MAX eDrive mode can be activated for maximum use of the electric
drive. In this mode, the new BMW X1 xDrive25e and the new
BMW X2 xDrive25e reach a top speed of 135 km/h. In addition there is
also the SAVE BATTERY mode. It enables the driver to maintain the
charging state of the high-voltage battery while driving or to
increase it by means of recuperation. In this way battery capacity can
be saved for later use when driving in purely electric mode in the
city for example. The driving experience switch can be used
independent of the drive mode. In the new BMW X1 xDrive25e and the new
BMW X2 xDrive25e, the driver can use this to activate the COMFORT,
SPORT and ECO PRO modes in order to influence the drive and suspension
functions as well as to operate the electrically powered comfort systems.

Due to a long electric range and low CO2 emissions, the new
BMW X1 xDrive25e and the new BMW X2 xDrive25e (depending on equipment)
meet the criteria which have been stipulated for the classification as
an electric vehicle in Germany and the associated preferential
treatment in public road traffic. In addition, it also qualifies for
reduced company car taxation in Germany. Only half the gross list
price is used as a basis when calculating the monetary benefit from
private use of the company car.

The new BMW X1 xDrive25e and the new BMW X2 xDrive25e feature
acoustic pedestrian protection as standard. When driving electrically
at speeds of up to 30 km/h, an unmistakable sound designed
specifically for electrified BMW models is generated to alert other
road users to the approaching car without impairing the acoustic
comfort of the vehicle occupants. In addition, the standard equipment
of the two compact BMW X models with plug-in hybrid drive also
includes 17-inch light alloy wheels, 2-zone automatic air conditioning
as well as auxiliary air conditioning. The interior can be
pre-conditioned remotely via BMW Connected using a smartphone. As an
alternative to the basic version, the new BMW X1 xDrive25e is
available as a Sport Line, xLine and M Sport model. For the new
BMW X2 xDrive25e customers can choose from the following models:
Advantage, Advantage Plus, M Sport and M Sport X. In addition to the
respective equipment packages, virtually all options of the
conventionally powered BMW X1 or BMW X2 are available for the plug-in
hybrid models.

The positioning of the high-voltage battery underneath the rear seats
not only leads to a very low centre of gravity, which optimises the
agility of the BMW X1 xDrive25 and the new BMW X2 xDrive25e, but also
to a slightly reduced transport capacity compared to the
conventionally powered compact model variants. The luggage compartment
volume is fully available in primary use. In the new BMW X1 xDrive25e
luggage compartment capacity is 450 litres. With a standard split of
40: 20: 40, the folding backrests enable this to be increased to 1,470
litres. A trailer tow hitch with detachable ballhead is optionally
available for the new BMW X1 xDrive25e. The maximum trailer load is
750 kilograms.

Press Contact: Jeroen Lissens
Tel: +32-3-890-9708
e-mailadres: jeroen.lissens@bmw.be

Press Release,Research & Development,Drive Technologies,X1,F48,X2,F39,F49,F48 LCI,X2 xDrive25e,X1 xDrive25e

Munich. BMW will also be injecting many of the models
not affected by its ongoing model offensive with added variety and
appeal during the summer of 2019. Following the successful launch of
the new BMW 3 Series Sedan, its choice of power units has now been
expanded. New engines are also fitted in the BMW 8 Series Coupe, BMW 8
Series Convertible and BMW 5 Series Sedan. Elsewhere, the BMW Z4
sDrive20i (fuel consumption combined: 6.9 – 6.8 l/100 km [40.9 – 41.5
mpg imp]; CO2 emissions combined: 157 – 155 g/km) will also be
available with a six-speed manual gearbox from July 2019.

The portfolio of plug-in hybrid models is also set to grow in summer
2019, thanks to additions such as the BMW 530e xDrive Sedan (petrol
consumption combined: 2.2 – 2.0 l/100 km [128.4 – 141.2 mpg imp];
electric power consumption combined: 15.4 – 15.0 kWh/100 km; CO2
emissions combined: 49 – 46 g/km) with intelligent all-wheel drive.
All plug-in hybrid models will now come with new battery cell
technology to boost their electric range and will also feature
acoustic protection for pedestrians as standard. The BMW X2 will come
with LED headlights and LED foglamps as standard from July 2019. Last
but not least, new optional extras, exterior paint finishes, leather
variants and interior trim strips will open up further scope for
customisation in many model ranges.

BMW 3 Series Sedan: additional power units, new body colours
and options.

The new BMW 3 Series Sedan will serve up its
distinctive brand of driving pleasure in a number of new formats from
July 2019, when an ultra-sporty representative with a straight-six
petrol engine and BMW xDrive, another three all-wheel-drive variants
and a plug-in hybrid model are added to the line-up. As a result,
customers will now have a choice of three petrol and three diesel
engines, as well as a plug-in hybrid drive system. Five of the power
units will combine with all-wheel drive, either as standard or optionally.

Spearheading the model range is the new BMW M340i xDrive Sedan (fuel
consumption combined: 7.5 l/100 km [37.7 mpg imp]; CO2 emissions
combined: 172 g/km), which is powered by a new 275 kW/374 hp
six-cylinder in-line petrol engine. An eight-speed Steptronic Sport
transmission, intelligent all-wheel drive, an M Sport differential and
bespoke chassis technology combine to keep the engine’s exceptional
power planted firmly on the road and deliver a supremely assured and
exhilarating drive. The likewise standard sports exhaust system
produces a soundtrack to match. The new BMW M340i xDrive Sedan sprints
from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 4.4 seconds.

From July 2019, intelligent all-wheel drive will be available in
combination with another three engines. The trio of models benefiting
from the superior traction, directional stability and agility this
brings will be the BMW 320i xDrive Sedan (fuel consumption combined:
6.3 – 5.9 l/100 km [44.84 – 47.9 mpg imp]; CO2 emissions combined: 143
– 134 g/km), BMW 330i xDrive Sedan (fuel consumption combined: 6.5 –
6.2 l/100 km [43.5 – 45.6 mpg imp]; CO2 emissions combined: 147 – 141
g/km) and BMW 330d xDrive Sedan (fuel consumption combined: 5.4 – 5.1
l/100 km [52.3 – 55.4 mpg imp]; CO2 emissions combined: 140 – 134 g/km).

The new BMW 330e Sedan (petrol consumption combined: 1.9 – 1.6 l/100
km [148.7 – 176.6 mpg imp]; electric power consumption combined: 15.4
– 14.8 kWh/100 km; CO2 emissions combined: 43 – 37 g/km) delivers a
particularly appealing blend of driving pleasure and efficiency. The
plug-in hybrid model’s four-cylinder petrol engine and electric drive
unit join forces to generate system output of up to 215 kW/292 hp when
the newly developed XtraBoost mode is engaged. This enables the BMW
330e Sedan to reach 100 km/h (62 mph) from rest in 6.0 seconds. At the
same time, it is capable of a maximum electric range from 59 to 66
kilometres (37 – 41 miles) courtesy of state-of-the-art battery technology.

M Sport suspension will also be available for the new BMW 3 Series
Sedan (with the exception of the M Sport model) from July 2019, as
will Adaptive M suspension. Both the optional suspension systems
combine with Variable Sport Steering.

The new BMW Individual paint finishes Citrine Black metallic, Oxide
Grey metallic, Frozen Dark Grey metallic and Brilliant White metallic
create extra scope for customisation. Customers will also have the
option of a BMW Individual leather steering wheel and three different
BMW Individual interior trim strip designs from July 2019. BMW
Individual extended leather upholstery Merino and BMW Individual
Merino full leather trim – which wraps the upper section of the
instrument panel and the door shoulders in black fulled leather, too –
will also be added to the options list. The two leather trim variants
are each available in a choice of five colours. BMW Individual
extended leather upholstery Merino also features as part of the first
BMW Individual Composition for the sports sedan. Other items in the
Composition include 19-inch BMW Individual light-alloy wheels, a BMW
Individual paint finish, sports seats, the BMW Individual leather
steering wheel and an anthracite BMW Individual headliner. The M Sport
Individual model is another new option combining the M Sport model’s
equipment features with ultra-stylish details, such as 19-inch BMW
Individual light-alloy wheels, a BMW Individual exterior paint finish,
BMW Individual interior trim strips, BMW Individual extended leather
upholstery Merino and the BMW Individual leather steering wheel.

BMW 5 Series: new V8 engine, plug-in hybrid model now also
with all-wheel drive, attractive optional extras and packages.

A generation change for the V8 engine and another plug-in hybrid
model make the range of drive systems available for the BMW 5 Series
even more appealing. From July 2019 the BMW M550i xDrive Sedan (fuel
consumption combined: 10.0 – 9.9 l/100 km [28.25 – 28.5 mpg imp]; CO2
emissions combined: 227 – 225 g/km) will be fitted with the latest
update of the eight-cylinder engine with BMW M TwinPower Turbo
technology. The new V8 has an optimised crankcase and larger
turbochargers positioned in the “V” between the cylinder banks, and
develops maximum output of 390 kW/530 hp plus peak torque of 750 Nm
(553 lb-ft). The eight-cylinder teams up with the eight-speed
Steptronic transmission, intelligent all-wheel drive and
model-specific chassis technology to generate standout dynamics.

From July 2019 the latest-generation high-voltage battery will give
the BMW 530e Sedan (petrol consumption combined: 1.8 – 1.6 l/100 km
[156.9 – 176.6 mpg imp]; electric power consumption combined: 14.5 –
13.6 kWh/100 km; CO2 emissions combined: 41 – 36 g/km) a longer
all-electric operating range. The plug-in hybrid model will now also
be available with intelligent all-wheel drive. The link-up of
four-cylinder petrol engine and electric drive system endow the new
BMW 530e xDrive Sedan with system output of 185 kW/252 hp.

A new BMW Individual Composition will be available for all BMW 5
Series Sedan and BMW 5 Series Touring model variants from July 2019.
The precisely coordinated design and equipment features for the
exterior and interior include a BMW Individual paint finish and
20-inch BMW Individual light-alloy wheels, BMW Individual Exterior
Line Aluminium satinated, comfort seats with active seat ventilation,
BMW Individual extended leather upholstery Merino, a BMW Individual
leather steering wheel, an Anthracite-coloured BMW Individual
headliner, ambient lighting, a BMW Individual instrument panel in
black leather and BMW Individual interior trim strips in Piano Finish Black.

BMW 8 Series: new six-cylinder in-line petrol engine, optional
M Sport seats, additional paint finishes and leather trim variants.

Another engine option and four new model variants
inject extra variety into the line-up of power units for the new BMW 8
Series luxury sports car. From July 2019 the BMW 8 Series Coupe and
BMW 8 Series Convertible will also be offered with a new six-cylinder
in-line-petrol engine developing 250 kW/340 hp. It teams up with
rear-wheel drive in the new BMW 840i Coupe (fuel consumption combined:
7.3 – 7.2 l/100 km [38.7 –39.2 mpg imp]; CO2 emissions combined: 167 –
164 g/km) and new BMW 840i Convertible (fuel consumption combined: 7.5
– 7.4 l/100 km [37.7 – 38.2 mpg imp]; CO2 emissions combined: 170 –
168 g/km), and with intelligent all-wheel drive in the new BMW 840i
xDrive Coupe (fuel consumption combined: 7.7 – 7.5 l/100 km [36.7 –
37.7 mpg imp]; CO2 emissions combined: 174 – 172 g/km) and new BMW
840i xDrive Convertible (fuel consumption combined: 7.8 – 7.7 l/100 km
[36.2 - 36.7 mpg imp]; CO2 emissions combined: 178 – 175 g/km).

The engine line-up for the BMW 8 Series also includes a V8 option and
a six-cylinder in-line diesel unit. All model variants stand out with
their captivating performance attributes, which can be enjoyed in even
greater richness and depth in the M Sport seats now added to the
options list. As well as attention-grabbing bucket-seat contours and
safety belts with accent strips in BMW M GmbH colours, the M Sport
seats also feature 3D quilting, perforated central sections and
bespoke stitching. Added to which, BMW 8 Series customers will also be
able to specify BMW Individual full-leather appointments in eight
colour variants from July 2019, plus BMW Individual fine wood interior
trim strips in Black Ash Silver Effect high-gloss and Carbon Fibre.

Ultra-classy exterior paint finishes have been added to the spectrum
of options available. For example, customers can now also order their
BMW 8 Series Coupe or BMW 8 Series Convertible in the BMW Individual
paint finish Frozen Bluestone metallic. The BMW 8 Series Convertible
can also be ordered with the BMW Individual finishes Frozen Brilliant
White metallic, Frozen Dark Brown metallic, Frozen Arctic Grey
metallic, Frozen Dark Silver, Frozen Cashmere Silver, Pure Metal
Silver, Brilliant White metallic, Tanzanite Blue metallic, Aventurine
Red metallic and Almandine Brown metallic.

BMW X2: LED headlights now standard, additional light-alloy
wheels, optional M Sport braking system.

The BMW X2 will come as standard from July 2019
with LED headlights with extended features. Their adaptive light
distribution ensures optimum road illumination in urban areas, when
turning off a road and through corners. LED front foglamps will also
be part of standard specification for the compact Sports Activity
Coupe. Options will include five new light-alloy wheels in 18- and
19-inch formats and two new upholstery variants.

The M Sport braking system fitted as standard on the BMW X2 M35i
(fuel consumption combined: 7.1 – 6.9 l/100 km [39.8 – 40.9 mpg imp],
CO2 emissions combined: 161 – 158 g/km) will now be available as an
option for all other variants of the BMW X2. The Navigation option
will now include an 8.8 inch Control Display with touchscreen
functionality in place of the previous 6.5-inch version. And if the
Navigation Plus option is specified, the display will have a screen
diagonal of 10.25 inches.

BMW X3 and BMW X4: M Sport seats, new M Sport Individual
equipment line.

New optional extras will be added to the range for the BMW X3 and BMW
X4 in summer 2019 to give the duo yet more appeal. The Sports Activity
Vehicle and Sports Activity Coupe will be available with the option of
M Sport seats with distinct bucket-seat styling and special design
features for the M Sport model, BMW X3 M40i (fuel consumption
combined: 9.1 – 9.1 l/100 km [31.0 – 31.0 mpg imp], CO2 emissions
combined: 207 – 206 g/km), BMW X3 M40d (fuel consumption combined: 6.5
– 6.4 l/100 km [43.5 – 44.1 mpg imp], CO2 emissions combined: 172 –
169 g/km), BMW X4 M40i (fuel consumption combined: 9.1 – 9.0 l/100 km
[31.0 – 31.4 mpg imp], CO2 emissions combined: 206 – 205 g/km) and BMW
X4 M40d (fuel consumption combined: 6.6 – 6.4 l/100 km [42.8 – 44.1
mpg imp], CO2 emissions combined: 173 – 170 g/km), as well as with
additional interior trim strip variants.

The new M Sport Individual model available for the BMW X3 and BMW X4
from August 2019 brings together a number of high-quality touches that
add to their dynamic prowess, while also giving them an even more
stylish and exclusive aura. The equipment features of the M Sport
model are combined with highlights such as a BMW Individual paint
finish, 21-inch BMW Individual light-alloy wheels, BMW Individual
extended leather upholstery Merino and BMW Individual interior trim
strips in Piano Finish Black.

BMW X5 and BMW X7: new power units, plus more exterior paint
finishes, light-alloy wheels and leather trim variants.

The choice of power units for the new BMW X5 will
be expanded with the addition of a new entry-level engine in the form
of a four-cylinder diesel available for the Sports Activity Vehicle
from August 2019. The two-litre engine in the new BMW X5 xDrive25d
(fuel consumption combined: 6.2 – 5.7 l/100 km [45.6 – 49.6 mpg imp];
CO2 emissions combined: 162 – 150 g/km) develops maximum output of 170
kW/231 hp and peak torque of 450 Nm (332 lb-ft) with the help of BMW
TwinPower Turbo technology comprising multi-stage turbocharging and
common-rail direct injection. The efficient diesel engine teams up
with the eight-speed Steptronic transmission and xDrive intelligent
all-wheel-drive system. The engine’s emission control system includes
an SCR catalyst for reducing nitrogen oxide emissions, helping the new
BMW X5 xDrive25d to satisfy the requirements of the Euro 6d-TEMP
emissions norm.

The summer of 2019 will also see the launch of another exceptionally
efficient version of the Sports Activity Vehicle in the form of the
BMW X5 xDrive45e (petrol consumption combined: 2.0 – 1.7 l/100 km
[141.2 – 166.2 mpg imp]; electric power consumption combined: 23.5 –
20.3 kWh/100 km; CO2 emissions combined: 47 – 39 g/km). This plug-in
hybrid model is powered by a combination of a six-cylinder in-line
petrol engine and an electric motor, which together generate system
output of 290 kW/394 hp. The second-generation BMW X5 with electrified
powertrain accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 5.6 seconds. The
BMW xDrive intelligent all-wheel-drive system is on hand to deliver
sporty driving pleasure on the road and supremely assured performance
off it by distributing the drive power from both engine and motor to
all four wheels. The latest battery cell technology on board the new
X5 xDrive45e helps it to cover distances of up to 80 kilometres (50
miles) on electric power alone.

Customers will also enjoy an even wider choice of optional extras.
The body colour Manhattan metallic, 22-inch M light-alloy wheels in
twin-spoke design, the BMW Individual Alcantara headliner in
Anthracite or Ivory White and BMW Individual high-gloss Shadow Line
trim with extended features will all be added to the BMW X5 options
list from August 2019.

New options are being made available for the new BMW X7, too. From
August 2019, it will be possible to upgrade the cabin of the luxury
segment’s first ever Sports Activity Vehicle with BMW Individual
Merino full leather trim in three different colours and a BMW
Individual headliner in Anthracite or Ivory White Alcantara. The
palette of colours for the exterior will now expand to include the
Manhattan metallic shade and BMW Individual paint finishes Tanzanite
Blue metallic and Ametrine metallic. And the BMW X7 can likewise now
be specified with BMW Individual high-gloss Shadow Line trim with
extended features.

BMW Z4: entry-level engine now also available with manual gearbox.

The 145 kW/197 hp four-cylinder petrol engine in
the BMW Z4 sDrive20i (fuel consumption combined: 6.9 – 6.8 l/100 km
[40.9 – 41.5 mpg imp]; CO2 emissions combined: 157 – 155 g/km) will be
partnered by a six-speed manual gearbox as standard from July 2019.
The entry-level version of the open-top sports car will also be
optionally available with an eight-speed Steptronic transmission.

Plug-in hybrid models with new battery cell technology and
acoustic protection for pedestrians.

From summer 2019, the new BMW 330e Sedan, new BMW 530e Sedan, new BMW
530e xDrive Sedan and new BMW X5 xDrive45e will be joined in the
line-up of plug-in hybrid models boasting the very latest battery cell
technology by the new BMW 225xe Active Tourer (petrol consumption
combined: 2.1 – 1.9 l/100 km [134.5 – 148.7 mpg imp]; electric power
consumption combined: 14.2 – 13.5 kWh/100 km; CO2 emissions combined:
47 – 42 g/km) and the BMW 7 Series luxury sedan models with
electrified powertrains. The newly developed high-voltage batteries
further increase efficiency at the same time as boosting the electric range.

From summer 2019, all plug-in hybrid models will be equipped with
acoustic protection for pedestrians as standard. When driving on
electric power, an unmistakable sound specially created for
electrified BMW models is generated using a system of speakers. The
sound produced at low speeds has been designed to announce the car’s
presence acoustically without affecting acoustic comfort for its occupants.

New optional extra: BMW Drive Recorder - for the Belgian
market only.

The BMW Drive Recorder is another new addition to the options list.
It can be ordered in conjunction with Parking Assistant Plus and is
available for the new BMW 3 Series Sedan, BMW 7 Series, BMW 8 Series,
new BMW X5 and new BMW X7. The BMW Drive Recorder uses the cameras of
the various driver assistance systems to record video footage from
different points around the vehicle, before saving the recordings so
they can be either watched later on the Control Display when the car
is stationary or exported via the USB port.

Drivers can therefore shoot videos while driving through spectacular
scenery, for example, or performing impressive manoeuvres on the race
track, and then send them to their mobile device and share them.
Recordings can be up to 40 seconds in length, comprising the 20
seconds of video saved immediately prior to the Drive Recorder being
activated and the next 20 seconds. The Drive Recorder can be started
at any time from the iDrive menu. Another benefit of the system is
that, in the event of a collision, the 20 seconds before the accident
and the 20 seconds following it are automatically recorded and saved,
so they can be referred back to in any subsequent reconstruction of
the incident.

Munich. BMW will introduce a wave of enticing
additions to standard specification and broaden the array of options
available ex-factory in spring 2019, delivering a further boost to
driving pleasure and individuality in many of its model ranges. New
design features, exterior paint finishes and light-alloy wheels
enhance the sporting appearance of the BMW 2 Series Coupe, BMW 2
Series Convertible, BMW 3 Series Gran Turismo, BMW 4 Series, BMW M4
Coupe (fuel consumption combined: 10.0 – 9.9 l/100 km [28.3 – 28.5 mpg
imp]; CO2 emissions combined: 227 – 225 g/km) and BMW M4 Convertible
(fuel consumption combined: 10.2 – 10.1 l/100 km [27.7 – 28.0 mpg

offering for the BMW 5 Series Sedan and BMW 5 Series Touring,
meanwhile, is a BMW Individual Composition with M Sport features.

The spread of BMW X1 and BMW X2 model variants presented to customers
has also been further expanded, and their exhaust gas treatment
systems will now include a gasoline particulate filter. Spring 2019
will see the arrival of the BMW X2 M35i (fuel consumption combined:
7.1 – 6.9 l/100 km [39.8 – 40.9 mpg imp]; CO2 emissions combined: 161
– 158 g/km) as the flagship model in the compact Sports Activity
Coupe’s line-up. And just a few months on from the market launch of
the new BMW 8 Series Coupe and new BMW X5, the selection of exterior
paint finishes and leather appointments for the luxury sports car and
Sports Activity Vehicle will grow to include additional variants.

BMW 2 Series Coupe, BMW 2 Series Convertible, BMW 3 Series
Gran Turismo: fresh touches enhance sportiness and
elegance.
Among the refreshing flourishes enriching the
visual sportiness and elegance of the BMW 2 Series Coupe and BMW 2
Series Convertible are darkened rear lights, which will become part of
standard specification in March 2019. The high-performance BMW M2
Competition (fuel consumption combined: 10.0 – 9.8 l/100 km [28.3 –
28.8 mpg imp]; CO2 emissions combined: 227 – 224 g/km) will likewise
come with darkened rear lights as standard. BMW 2 Series Coupe and BMW
2 Series Convertible customers ordering their car in Sport Line
specification will find additional bi-colour 17- and 18-inch
light-alloy wheels on the options list.

18-inch M light-alloy wheels in twin-spoke design, painted in matt
Cerium Grey and with mixed-size tyres, will be offered as a new option
for the BMW M240i Coupe (fuel consumption combined: 7.4 – 7.3 l/100 km
[38.2 – 38.7 mpg imp]; CO2 emissions combined: 168 – 167 g/km), BMW
M240i xDrive Coupe (fuel consumption combined: 8.0 – 7.8 l/100 km

M240i Convertible (fuel consumption combined: 7.6 – 7.6 l/100 km [37.2
– 37.2 mpg imp]; CO2 emissions combined: 173 – 172 g/km) and BMW M240i
xDrive Convertible (fuel consumption combined: 8.4 – 8.3 l/100 km

smooth matt Carbon Fibre heighten the cabin’s sporting allure.

All Sport Line model and M Sport model variants of the BMW 2 Series
Coupe and BMW 2 Series Convertible come with a black kidney grille
surround. And new to the options list for the interior is Dakota
leather trim with exclusive stitching.

Dark rear lights will also be included in the standard specification
for the BMW 3 Series Gran Turismo from March 2019. Cars with the
optional Adaptive LED Headlights also have black inserts for the
headlight units, which the M Sport model will complement with a BMW

specification. The M Sport and Sport Line variants of the BMW 4 Series
will now be fitted with black rear light screens and a BMW kidney
grille surround in High-gloss Black as standard.

Darkened rear lights are also set to adorn the rear of the BMW M4

Sales get underway of the BMW X2 M35i; BMW X1 xDrive20i, BMW
X2 xDrive20i and BMW X1 xDrive25i now with gasoline particulate
filter.
The BMW X2 will welcome a new top-of-the-line
model variant in spring 2019. The market launch des BMW X2 M35i sees
the extrovert design of the compact Sports Activity Coupes link up
with an extremely powerful four-cylinder petrol engine. The new
2.0-litre unit with M TwinPower Turbo technology generates maximum
output of 225 kW/306 hp and peak torque of 450 Nm (332 lb-ft), and
accelerates the BMW X2 M35i from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 5.0
seconds. Power transfer is via an eight-speed Steptronic Sport
transmission and BMW xDrive intelligent all-wheel drive. An M Sport

also play their part in endowing the flagship X2 with its standout
sporting prowess.

More petrol variants of the BMW X1 and BMW X2 will boast further
reduced emissions from March 2019. The BMW X1 xDrive20i (fuel

///

Munich. Sportiness coupled with a polarising
appearance – based on this formula, the new BMW X2 has inspired above
all a young and modern target group following its premiere in March
2018. With its extroverted design, the BMW X2 interprets the character
of a premium SAC (Sports Activity Coupes) in an entirely new way
within the compact segment.

The top-of-the-range version of the BMW X2 is the M
Performance automobile.

BMW is now presenting the new top model of the X2 series. The wide
BMW double kidney grille of new BMW X2 M35i (combined fuel consumption
8.4-8.1 l/100 km; combined CO2 emissions: 191-185 g/km)*, features a
surround in Cerium Grey for visual differentiation at first glance.
Likewise, the surrounds of the air cooling inlets and the exterior
mirror caps are finished in Cerium Grey. The rear of the X2 M35i is
characterised by the standard M rear spoiler and two specially
designed exhaust tailpipes, which also come in Cerium Grey.

BMW’s most powerful 2-litre
TwinPower Turbo engine.

The new BMW X2 M35i featuring a 225 kW (306 hp) 4-cylinder
turbocharged petrol engine definitely sets new benchmarks above the
previous versions. As the letter M in the type designation clearly
signalises, the new X2 M35i possesses the impressive dynamic handling
qualities of an M Performance automobile. Behind this is yet again the
BMW M GmbH, whose racing know-how flows into the development of all
components. The 2-litre TwinPower Turbo engine concealed under an M
Performance cover is the very first M Performance four-cylinder engine
and at the same time BMW’s most powerful version. It delivers a
fascinating maximum power output of 225 kW (306 hp). Maximum torque is
an extremely powerful 450 Newton metres. To ensure that this sheer
power is securely transferred to the tarmac, the X2 M35i comes as
standard with intelligent four-wheel drive technology xDrive in
conjunction with the 8-speed Steptronic transmission including Launch
Control. The automatic transmission features specific M Performance
tuning. Equipped in this way, the BMW X2 M35i is able to accelerate
from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.9 seconds*. The necessary thermal
stability of the engine is now ensured by a redesigned cooling system.

Outstanding driving dynamics thanks to M-specific tuning.

Being a typical M Performance automobile, the BMW X2 M35i features,
in addition to a powerful engine, also a M Sport suspension system
that has been specifically tuned and adapted to match the car’s sporty
character. A adaptive suspension offering two different manually
adjustable modes and combining maximised sportiness and driving
comfort is also optionally available. A particularly special
technical highlight – and also a premiere for an M Performance
automobile – is the M Sport Differential installed in the front axle
gear. During highly dynamic driving manoeuvres, this locking
differential most effectively reduces possible traction losses on the
front wheels. In addition, the braking system has been upgraded for
use on the X2 M35i. The M Sport braking system with fixed callipers in
Dark Blue metallic and 18-inch steel discs at the front (17-inch at
the rear) guarantees consistently short braking distances even under
the highest loads. With that, however, the M know-how is still far
from being exhausted. Steering and suspension have also both been
adapted to match the performance of the drive system. For instance,
thanks to a special setup, the M sports steering conveys to the driver
an impressively direct and precise steering feel. Furthermore, the X2
M35i comes as standard with the M Sport suspension with a stiffer
spring and damper setting as well as vehicle lowering. The rear axle
construction has been redesigned. A suspension with an adaptive spring
and damper combination offering two different manually adjustable
modes is also optionally available.

Upgraded exterior design thanks to M Performance typical
elements in Cerium Crey.

The sporty aspiration of the X2 M35i, which is the result of its
inner qualities, is reflected in an exciting exterior design with
numerous typical M Performance Automobile elements finished in Cerium
Grey and based on the X2 M Sport Package. This begins at the front
with full HD technology for the main headlights and fog lights and
continues with the double kidney grille in Cerium Grey and the newly
designed side air intakes of the same colour at the front for best
possible cooling of brakes and engine. The exterior mirrors have been
upgraded by special caps, likewise in Cerium Grey. At the rear, the X2
M35i boasts a distinctive M rear spoiler and demonstrates its
fascinating sovereignty with an M Sport exhaust system with two
tailpipes (each 100 mm in diameter). Thanks to the adapted silencer
system, the exhaust system produces a particularly sporty sound
spectrum. 19-inch M Sport light alloy wheels in 715M styling
(optional: 20-inch M Sport light alloy wheels in 721M styling and in
Cerium Grey bicolour) impressively round off the exterior design
features.

For the first time Exclusive M sports seats ensure perfect
seating comfort and lateral support.

An exceptionally sporty look also dominates the interior. As with the
exterior design, the basis is again the M Sport Package. Moreover, the
X2 M35i features as standard an M Sport leather steering wheel with
shift paddles and door entry trims at the front bearing the lettering
“M35i”. The optional M sports seats at the front are a novelty. They
offer not only perfect lateral support for both driver and front
passenger in sharp bends, but also the highest level of comfort and
safety through integrated headrests. The M sports seats are available
in the following three different designs: FabricTrigon/Alcantara
combination in black with blue accents, Leather Dakota Magmared,
perforated with black accents and Leather Dakota black perforated.
Matching seatbelts in an M design are also on offer.

Trend-setting digital competence for state-of-the-art technologies.

In addition to the uncompromisingly sporty orientation of both drive
system and design, the BMW X2 M35i also demonstrates BMW’s
trend-setting digital competence in the areas of operation and
networking. For instance, the full-colour BMW Head-Up Display is among
the optionally available features. It offers a display range that is
unprecedented in this vehicle segment. If desired, the latest
generation of BMW ConnectedDrive and the new BMW Connected App can be
fitted. Optional functions such as the wireless use of Apple CarPlay
set further highlights. Driver assistant systems include, for example,
camera-based technologies such as the traffic jam assistant for less
tiring driving in dense stop-and-go traffic or the optional parking assistant.

Start of production is November 2018, for European markets not until
March 2019.

***

Munich. The three latest additions to the BMW X model
family, the BMW X2 (combined fuel consumption: 6.2-4.5 l/100 km;
combined CO2 emissions: 142–119 g/km)*, the BMW X3 (combined fuel
consumption: 8.4-5.3 l/100 km; combined CO2 emissions: 193–140 g/km)*
and the BMW X4 (combined fuel consumption: 7.3-5.4 l/100 km; combined
CO2 emissions: 173–142 g/km)*, combine a sporty, elegant appearance
with outstanding driving dynamics properties. Thanks to the extensive
range of M Performance Parts from the program of Original BMW
Accessories, each of these product features can be adapted to the
owner's personal taste and given greater emphasis.

Development of M Performance Parts always draws on the vast racing
expertise of BMW M GmbH. All components are perfectly matched – both
with each other and with the specific properties of each model. In
addition to accentuating interior and exterior design, many of the
M Performance Parts also meet functional criteria and enhance
lightweight construction, for example.

Refined looks based on details inspired by motor racing.
M Performance lettering is one particularly effective way of
creating a visual highlight. Designed to ensure an ideal match with
the model in question, the side lettering in Frozen Black underscores
the sporty character of the vehicle, in particular emphasising the
dynamic proportions of the body. In addition to the side lettering,
the appearance of the BMW X3 and BMW X4 can be further refined with
the front lettering in high-gloss black – matching the other front
attachment parts for these two models, which also feature a high-gloss
finish. M Performance front radiator grilles in high-gloss black are
available for the BMW X2. These have the same geometry as the standard
grilles but are much more visually striking, thereby underscoring the
vehicle's sporty flair and dynamic performance.

The M Performance exterior mirror caps in carbon fibre are another
eye-catcher available for all three series. They are crafted
elaborately by hand from carbon fibre reinforced plastic (CFRP). With
several coating layers and finished with a high-gloss polish, the
carbon fibre caps have a depth effect which gives them a compelling appearance.

Sporty, elegant refinement on the inside.
The interior of the BMW X2, BMW X3 and BMW X4 can also be
enhanced for additional sporty flair by means of select details, while
at the same time increasing feel-good comfort on board. The M
Performance floor mats are a potential contributing factor here. They
are made of velour velvet with a leather-look surround and contrasting
decorative seams. Their soft material makes them especially gentle on
shoe heels. The front mats for driver and passenger bear the M
Performance branding.

The M Performance steering wheel ensures the driver of a BMW X2, BMW
X3 or BMW X4 retains a perfect grip on everything. It has distinct,
specially lined grip areas which are covered with Alcantara. This
microfibre fabric similar to suede is exceptionally pleasant to the
touch in all temperatures and provides an optimum hold. The upper and
lower part of the steering wheel are also covered in high-quality
leather, as is the accompanying steering wheel trim panel. A red
motorsports marking in the 12 o'clock position emphasises the car's
dynamic qualities, as does the silver-grey, hand-sewn cross-stitch
seam. Steering wheel trim panels are also optionally available for the
BMW X3 and BMW X4 in carbon fibre/leather, with central clasp in
either open-pore or high-gloss carbon fibre.

Shift paddles at the steering wheel enable the driver to change gear
without taking their hands off the steering wheel, thereby
facilitating vehicle control even when driving in dynamic style. For
the BMW X3 and BMW X4 with this feature on board, the shift paddles
are available in high-gloss carbon fibre. They are covered in an
extremely fine carbon mesh, enhanced with a PUR finish and a
high-gloss polish, and also feature plus and minus symbols in anodised red.

Extensive range of attractive summer complete wheel sets.
Much of a vehicle's design is perceptibly dominated by its
wheel/tyre combination. This is why adaptations in this area have
traditionally been among the most popular customisation measures in
the automotive sector. This also accounts for the wide range available
as part of the BMW M Performance Parts program. The 20-inch summer
complete wheel set Styling 717 M is available for the BMW X2, for
example. The matt black finish of this light alloy wheel,
weight-optimised by means of flowforming technology (rolled rim well)
adds a particularly striking touch of sporty flair. The 19-inch M
Performance light alloy wheel Double Spoke 698 M in Orbit Grey is
available as a summer complete wheel set for the BMW X3 and BMW X4.
The exclusive finish and visible wheel bolts are key contributing
factors to an impressive appearance here. The 21-inch forged wheel Y
Spoke 701 M Bicolor is currently the largest wheel in the program of
Original BMW Accessories for the BMW X3 and BMW X4. It also has a
rolled rim well, and it weighs some two kilograms less than a
similarly designed cast wheel in the same format: this is because of
the special manufacturing process used. The Bicolor look with black as
the background colour and the burnished finish on the visible side
make for a very eye-catching impression, especially due to the
high-quality clear finish.

Light installations for a highly effective appearance.
One discreet customisation option that also adds a definite
touch of exclusivity at the same time are the BMW LED door projectors.
They replace the standard entry light and project a graphic onto the
ground when the door is opened. The selection of motifs include the
BMW M logo as well as various motifs from an M Performance slide set.

* The fuel consumption figures were calculated based on the ECE test
cycle, dependent on tyre format.

Press Contact: Christophe Weerts
Tel: +32-3-890-9708
e-mailadres: christophe.weerts@bmw.be

Press Release,X3,BMW M,X4,X2,F39,G01,G02

---

Smartphone users can experience the first ever BMW X2, anywhere and
even before market launch – thanks to BMW and Snapchat. BMW is the
first brand worldwide to leverage the potential of the new Snapchat
“Augmented Trial” Lens.

Starting today, fans all over the world can use augmented reality
technology to view and configure a realistic 3D model of the latest
addition to the BMW X family. At the start of communications in late
October, BMW already reached an audience of millions across Europe
with the BMW X2 Face Lens in Galvanic Gold.

Through Snapchat, BMW is expanding its marketing activities through
an innovative and playful medium that is especially popular with
creative, tech-savvy individuals. As the newest member of the BMW X
family, the BMW X2 (with a combined fuel consumption of 6.3 – 4.5
l/100 km and combined CO2 emissions of 144 – 118 g/km*) appeals to the
young and young-at-heart, extroverted and active customers who value
individuality and lifestyle. Innovative apps like Snapchat are an
integral part of their digital world.

The BMW X2 campaign “Be the one who dares” is using a range of new
digital communications channels to reach BMW fans around the world, in
line with the brand’s new focus on a more youthful “Sheer Driving
Pleasure”. BMW communications are taking a noticeably younger, fresher
approach, with a new tonality that explores unexpected channels.

“Snapchat is young and modern – which suits BMW and the BMW X2
perfectly. We are enriching Snapchat users’ digital experience through
content they find appealing, with a high recognition value. We wanted
to insert ourselves in an organic way into the Snapchat environment
and its users’ world. That is the most meaningful way to address our
fans in a style that fits the channel and the target group,” explains
Jörg Poggenpohl, head of Digital Marketing BMW.

With the BMW X2 experience, the BMW becomes the first brand to use
the Snapchat Augmented Trial Lens, enriching reality with digital
content. A brief clip shown between user stories or in the “discover”
area, directs Snapchat users’ attention to the new BMW X2. If the user
accepts the invitation to “swipe up”, their phone camera is activated.
The app automatically integrates a 3D model of the BMW X2 into the
camera’s field of vision. In this way, users can already experience
the new BMW X2, virtually, anywhere in the world, before it even
reaches BMW showrooms. The 3D model is realistically integrated into
its surroundings and users can walk around the vehicle to admire it
from all angles. They can also use the app to change the paint colour.

A special Face Lens for “selfies”, which colours the face with the
exclusive BMW X2 Galvanic Gold finish, was available to Snapchatters
in Germany, France, Italy, Spain and the UK at the start of the BMW X2
communications campaign in early November and proved a huge success:
The lens was seen over 40m times by over 13m Snapchatters.
Snapchatters also chose to play with the BMW Lens for on average
almost 24 seconds and created over 2.5 million Snaps with the BMW X2

In addition to Snapchat, the BMW X2 “Be the one who dares” campaign
is using many other digital marketing channels. At the start of
communications in October, prospective customers and fans were able to
experience the BMW X2 in an innovative mixed
reality application with the Microsoft HoloLens. BMW is
also the first automotive brand to use augmented reality in the
popular Shazam app. Further partnerships with popular apps and
internet services will follow between now and the market launch in
March 2018.

tijdens de nacht van pompoenen en Halloween hekserij.

///

Munich. Things are starting to get a little weird.
Following its two camouflaged outings through the urban jungle and at
Milan Fashion Week, the new BMW X2 (fuel consumption combined: 6.3 –
4.5 l/100 km [44.8 – 62.8 mpg imp]; CO2 emissions combined: 144 – 118
g/km) is now the protagonist in yet another mystery sighting, this
time for Halloween. Conjured up from nowhere and piloted as if by
magic, the latest Sports “Paranormal” Activity Coupe apparition
provides an intriguing preview of an automotive newcomer that will
manifest itself very shortly.

From its origins through to its modern-day form, Halloween has for
centuries been the night of ghostly figures, scary stories and mystic
rituals. Which makes this the ideal occasion for the new BMW X2 to
make a spontaneous and dramatic entrance. Whereas in times gone by,
people would ready themselves for the onset of winter by lighting
blazing fires and invoking supernatural forces, now creepy costumes
and jack-o’-lanterns – with their menacing grimaces – form the eerie
backdrop as the new BMW X2 steals the show with its frightening good looks.

So the pumpkin very clearly sets the tone, with its influence
extending far beyond the intense orange of the X2’s exterior paintwork.

Press Contact: Christophe Weerts
Tel: +32-3-890-9708
e-mailadres: christophe.weerts@bmw.be

Press Release,X2,F39

contrasterende stiksels.

Direct bij de lancering levert BMW vier
motor/transmissievarianten, waarvan drie diesels en één
benzinevariant. Laatstgenoemde betreft de BMW X2 sDrive20i met 141
kW (192 pk), een gecombineerd brandstofverbruik van 5,9 – 5,5 l/100
km en een CO2-emissie van 134 – 126 g/km*. De BMW X2 sDrive20d met
140 kW (190 pk) heeft een gecombineerd brandstofverbruik van 4,8 –
4,6 l/100 km en een CO2-emissie: 126 – 121 g/km. De tweede diesel is
de BMW X2 xDrive25d met 170 kW (231 pk), een gecombineerd
brandstofverbruik van 5,3 – 5,1 l/100 km en een CO2-emissie van 139
– 133 g/km*).

Exclusief voor de Belgische markt wordt daar nog een derde
dieselvariant aan toegevoegd: een BMW X2 xDrive20d met gereduceerd
vermogen (120 kW).

Beide dieselmodellen zijn standaard voorzien van xDrive
intelligente vierwielaandrijving en een achttraps
Steptronic-automaat.

Head-Up Display.

Milaan tijdens de Fashion Week (20-25 september).

Munich. The new BMW X2 is still far from being ready
for its market debut. Nevertheless, the newest Sports Activity Coupé
in the BMW X family is beginning to get out and about in its most
congenial environment – the urban jungle.

As a matter of fact, it was noted during Fashion Week, which is being
held in Milan from 20 to 25 September, wearing an outfit perfect for
the occasion. The athletic silhouette of the new BMW X2 was attired in
a spectacular camouflage effect, with tones of yellow, gray, and black
that highlight its sporty and stylish qualities. The unusual
underlying design is based on a digital model and expresses the
innovative spirit and the orientation towards the future of the BMW Group.

Therefore it is not surprising that the new BMW X2 wearing Camouflage
Digital is at the center of attention in the most characteristic and
cool locations in Milan. Anyone who encountered it during its
excursion into city life was able to recognize it immediately for its
extravagant, contemporary, and sporty design. The outing offered a
good opportunity to see first hand the new interpretation of BMW X
design aimed at young people who are extroverted and active.

You can follow it on Instagram and Facebook and can try to meet it
“in person” and photograph it in the most "in” areas of Milan.
