The straight six-cylinder engine featuring M TwinPower Turbo Technology will in future be available in three performance levels. Still unparalleled in the competitive environment is the combination of the 353 kW/480 hp variant of the power unit with a 6-speed manual transmission in the new BMW M4 Coupé (fuel consumption combined: 10.1 – 10.0 l/ 100 km; CO₂ emissions combined: 230 – 226 g/km according to WLTP). The power plant in the new BMW M4 Competition Coupé (fuel consumption combined: 9.9 – 9.7 l/ 100 km; CO₂ emissions combined: 223 – 219 g/km according to WLTP) delivers a maximum power output of 375 kW/510 hp, transferring power to the road via an 8-speed M Steptronic transmission with Drivelogic. In combination with M xDrive featured in the four-wheel drive variants of both the Coupé and Convertible, this transmission guarantees extremely superior transformation of power output – now increased to 390 kW/530 hp – into exhilarating driving dynamics.

Thanks to the current modifications, the high-performance automobiles of the premium midsize segment all have the ideal prerequisites for the continuation of their popularity on international automobile markets, whilst strengthening their leading position within the segment. The USA has become the major sales market for the BMW M4 Coupé, followed by China, Germany and the UK. In the USA, the BMW M4 Convertible accounts by far for the highest sales figures. Moreover, the open-top four-seater enjoys great popularity in Germany and the UK. Both globally and in each of their relevant markets, models of the BMW M4 Series occupy by a clear margin the position as market leaders in each of their respective competitive environments.

The new editions of the BMW M4 Coupé and the BMW M4 Convertible are produced at the BMW Group Dingolfing plant. The worldwide market launch of the new models will begin with the commencement of production in March 2024.

Bespoke vehicles, M-typical performance.

Uncompromising dynamics both in everyday driving and on the racetrack are characteristic of BMW M4 Series models, this also being reflected in their design. Powerful proportions and M-specific design features for optimising the cooling air supply and the aerodynamic balance underpin their status as high-performance sports cars. The large, vertical BMW kidney grille sporting M-typical and horizontally arranged double slats, powerfully modelled wheel arches and prominently flared side sills with a contrasting high-gloss black finish as well as attachments for the front and rear aprons provide clear reference to the dynamic potential of both the Coupé and the Convertible.

Furthermore, the various model variants present themselves as bespoke vehicles, each of them enhancing the extreme sporty driving experience with their very own special facets. For example, a carbon reinforced plastic (CRP) roof is standard on all variants of the BMW M4 Coupé. The BMW M4 Competition Convertible with M xDrive offers a particularly unique opportunity to enjoy M-typical performance along with an extraordinary open-air driving experience. The car’s sophisticated panel bow soft-top roof combines the benefits of a retractable hardtop with the look of a classic fabric roof. The electric drive mechanism allows it to be opened or closed while on the move.

Straight six-cylinder engine with motor racing technology and new performance specification.

The straight six-cylinder power units used in the new BMW M4 Coupé and the new BMW M4 Convertible combine the typical high-revving characteristics offered by engines from BMW M GmbH with the current version of M TwinPower Turbo Technology. All variants of the 3-litre engine impress with responsive power delivery and high-torque characteristics up into the highest load ranges. These attributes are responsible for those unmistakable, linear performance characteristics, which have always been the hallmark of BMW M automobiles.

The engine‘s design features directly derive from motor racing and include the extremely stiff crankcase, which is manufactured in a sleeveless closed-deck design, the weight-reduced forged crankshaft and the iron coating, which is applied to the cylinder liners in an arc wire spraying process (AWSP). Manufactured in a 3-D printing process, the cylinder head core features an optimised routing of the coolant ducts, something that cannot be realised using conventional metal casting technology. In this way, both weight and temperature management are optimised. Like the cooling system, the oil supply is also aligned to the special demands of racetrack use.

M TwinPower Turbo Technology comprises two mono scroll turbochargers, each of them supplying three cylinders with compressed air. Indirect intercooling facilitated by a low-temperature circuit and specific compressors optimise the power output of the charging unit. Moreover, the technology package includes the petrol injection system High Precision Injection operating at a maximum pressure of 350 bar, variable valve control VALVETRONIC and infinitely variable camshaft control Double VANOS.

Maximum power output of the straight six-cylinder power unit variant featured in both the new BMW M4 Competition Coupé with M xDrive and the new BMW M4 Competition Convertible with M xDrive has been increased from the previous 375 kW/510 hp to 390 kW/530 hp, this being reached at an engine speed of 6,250 rpm. The further developed engine retrieves maximum torque of 650 Nm within an extended engine speed range of between 2,750 and 5,730 rpm. This results in even more superior and continuous power delivery, thus further enhancing the performance experience above all in highly dynamic driving situations. This exclusive performance specification is realised through a modification of the engine control system, providing further proof of the outstanding potential of the straight six-cylinder engine developed by BMW M GmbH and which serves as the basis for the power plant featured in the BMW M4 GT3 long-distance vehicle.

Whilst the new BMW M4 Competition Coupé with M xDrive is able to accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in 3.5 seconds, the new BMW M4 Competition Convertible with M xDrive takes 3.7 seconds to reach the same speed from a standstill. All model variants of the new BMW M4 Coupé and the BMW M4 Convertible achieve a top speed that is electronically limited to 155 mph. This value can be increased to 174 mph with the optional M Driver’s Package (BMW M4 Competition Convertible with M xDrive) or 180 mph respectively.

Honed on the Nürburgring: M-typical overall package comprising engine, power transmission and suspension technology. 

Like the 8-speed M Steptronic transmission with Drivelogic fitted to all other model variants, the 6-speed manual transmission in the new BMW M4 Coupé is perfectly matched to the performance characteristics of each engine. Shift paddles on the steering wheel for spontaneous manual intervention at each selected driving speed and the Drivelogic button for variable shift characteristics pave the way for a driving experience that is customisable in a variety of ways.

In addition, the most powerful version of the straight six-cylinder engine is combined with intelligent four-wheel drive M xDrive. This gives the new BMW M4 Competition Coupé with M xDrive and the new BMW M4 Competition Convertible with M xDrive outstanding traction, an attribute that is expressed in their impressive acceleration values. Thanks to a rear-wheel biased system and in conjunction with a fully variable Active M differential in the rear wheel transmission, the M xDrive system also enhances that typical M feeling during dynamic cornering. Via the set-up menu the driver is able to select, in addition to the default setting 4WD, the 4WD Sport mode, in which greater percentage of torque is directed to the rear axle. Moreover, when DSC is deactivated, the 2WD mode becomes available for exclusive transmission of power to the rear wheels.

High torsional stiffness of the body structure and the suspension connections create the ideal prerequisites for inspiring agility and spontaneous response to steering commands. Model-specific body struts also help the high-performance model provide that BMW M typical combination of dynamic, agile and precise handling.

M-specific kinematics and elasto-kinematics of the double-joint spring strut front axle and the five-link rear axle guarantee the harmony between extreme driving dynamics and balanced comfort features on all models of the series, both in everyday use and on longer journeys. Three characteristic maps are available via the M Setup menu for individual adjustments of the Adaptive M suspension, which comes as standard. Further components of the suspension technology include M Servotronic steering and the integrated braking system, which is utilised in conjunction both with the standard M compound brakes and the optional M carbon-ceramic brakes.

The integrated application of all drive and suspension systems, which was tested, inter alia, on the northern loop of the Nürburgring, guarantees, also in everyday traffic, highly dynamic and precisely controllable handling. A form of driving pleasure that is unique within the competitive environment is provided by the stability control system DSC (Dynamic Stability Control), which in addition to the M Dynamic Mode comprises ten-stage adjustable wheel slip limitation. By means of the M Traction Control function, optionally available for the BMW M4 Coupé and standard on all Competition models, the driver is able to reduce system interventions in stages in order to cautiously approach the physical limits of driving when the car is used on the racetrack, for instance. The M Lap Timer and the M Drift Analyser provide functions that emphasise the character of these high-performance models as ultimate driving machines for use on closed-off roads.

Wheel sizes aligned to each axle, M forged light-alloy wheels boasting a new design.

Axle-specificwheel sizes ensure a particularly comprehensive transfer of lateral forces during dynamic cornering. The new BMW M4 Coupé and the new BMW M4 Competition Coupé both come as standard with 18-inch M forged light-alloy wheels at the front and 19” at the rear. The standard configuration of the BMW M4 Competition Coupé with M xDrive and the BMW M4 Competition Convertible with M xDrive comprises M forged light alloys of the size 19” at the front and 20” at the rear.

The combination of 19” and 20” M light alloys is also optionally available for the new BMW M4 Coupé and the new BMW M4 Competition Coupé. New to the range of special equipment for all model variants are M forged light-alloy wheels in the above sizes featuring a double-spoke design and, for the first time, with a silver finish. Their brightly shining surfaces provide for a sporty, sophisticated and elegant look.

Assistance systems with a configurable range of functions.

The ongoing further development of the range of systems for automated driving and parking also contribute towards an unmistakable driving experience. In terms of functional scope and availability they set benchmarks within the competitive environment of the new BMW M4 Coupé and the new BMW M4 Convertible. Moreover, the activities of the driver assistance systems can be controlled via the M Mode button located on the centre console in order to guarantee the typically exhilarating experience of driving a high-performance sportscar. For instance, in the optionally available TRACK mode, which is designed for racetrack use, all comfort and safety systems are temporarily deactivated. 

Standard equipment for the new BMW M4 Coupé and the new BMW M4 Convertible includes Park Distance Control with sensors at the front and rear, Cruise Control with braking function, Front Collision Warning with brake intervention, Lane Departure Warning including Lane Return function with steering assistance and Traffic Sign Recognition with Speed Limit Info and No Overtaking Indicator. Optional features for the Competition models include Steering and Lane Guidance Assistant with Automatic Speed Limit Assist, Lane Keeping Assistant and Traffic Light Recognition as well as Active Cruise Control with Stop & Go function as an integral part of the Driving Assistant Professional. The Parking Assistant facilitates automatic parking (entering/leaving spaces) and also includes the Reversing Assistant as standard.

Modern design accents: New headlight design, taillights featuring laser technology.

The redesigned headlights give the front end of both the new BMW M4 Coupé and the new BMW M4 Convertible a modern look. The inside of the LED headlights, now a standard option, is even more distinctively structured. They also feature further developments in their functionality. Both the low and high beam are now produced by the same LED module. Two vertical LED units, each aligned in an arrowhead shape, assume the function of position and daytime running lights as well as direction indicators. The technology-oriented design of these new light sources provides for a sophisticated and progressive look.

Adaptive LED headlights with anti-glare matrix high beam are available as optional features. They are recognisable by the blue inserts and feature an urban light and cornering light function. Using the urban light function ensures optimised illumination of the roadside areas when travelling at low speeds on roads identified by the navigation data as built-up areas. The low beam function, however, is only activated when a speed of 22 mph has been reached. Furthermore, in conjunction with the adaptive LED headlights M Shadow Line lights featuring dark accents inside are also available. 

Moreover, the adaptive LED headlights are combined with a both visually and technologically impressive design of the LED taillights, which are available for all new versions of all models of the BMW M4 Series and feature laser technology and a fascinating light design. Inside, laser diodes produce an even illumination of glass fibre bundles, the filigree,
3-dimensional light graphics of which complement the taillight clusters. The model-specific version of this innovative light scenario utilizes a technology presented for the first time on the limited edition of the special high-performance model BMW M4 CSL, a model limited to 1,000 units.

A new design of the surrounding surface of the both the BMW logo and the M logo at the rear of the Competition models add further subtle accents for sophisticated elegance. The base of the BMW logo is now finished in High Gloss Black. The BMW M GmbH brand logo situated on the read lid has been complemented by a silver surround. 

A special feature designed exclusively for the model variants of the new BMW M4 Coupé for customisation of the external appearance are optional M design graphics for the bonnet and the rear lid. This contrasting colour emphasises the sporting characteristics of the two-door model and is available either in High Gloss Black or High Gloss Red. The optional steel roof available at no extra cost, which includes an electrically operated glass sliding roof, offers an additional design accent: The sheet metal part of the roof is finished in High Gloss Black instead of the body colour.

M-specific sportscar cockpit with new steering wheel designs and interior trims. 

The modern motor racing ambience inside the new versions of the high-performance models has also undergone further development. New steering wheel designs and control elements as well as high-class materials for the instrument panel and interior trims enhance the exclusive ambience inside the M-specific sportscar cockpits.

The standard M leather steering wheel with multifunction buttons, two M buttons and shift paddles for the Competition models now convey to the driver an even more intensive racetrack feel. The new design comprises a flattened lower section of the steering wheel rim and concisely modified spokes. A red centre marking in the 12 o’clock position underscores the sportive orientation of the steering wheel design. Moreover, for the first time, an M Alcantara steering wheel is available with the same design and range of functions. In addition, a heating function is optionally available for both steering wheel variants.

Furthermore, the M-specific cockpit arrangement also includes a control panel on the centre console, on which the shift lever or gear selector switch, the red Start/Stop button, the BMW iDrive Controller, the Setup and M Mode buttons are situated. These can be activated for individual vehicle configuration as well as for the range of functions of cockpit displays and driver assistance systems, which can be adapted to suit the driving situation at hand. 

Characteristic of M is also the combination of sporty flair and premium ambience inside the vehicle. This is, amongst other things, the result of high-quality design and finishing of the materials used for the interior. The interior trims in the area of the dashboard, the control panel and the cupholder cover now come as standard in Aluminium Rhombicle Anthracite. The optional instrument panel in the version Sensatec boasts a further refined surface structure.

The M sports seats come as standard and offer manifold electrically operated adjustment options, integrated headrests and illuminated model logos. The ideal position behind the wheel can be stored using the memory function. Heated seats for both driver and front passenger are also standard, with seat ventilation as an option. The standard leather trim Merino, the all-leather trim Merino, the extended BMW Individual leather trim Merino and the BMW Individual all-leather trim Merino are all available in four different colours.

The optional and also fully electrically adjustable and heated M Carbon bucket seats provide for an optimised connection between driver and vehicle. They combine motor racing functionality with lightweight design, cutting-edge workmanship and a high level of long-distance comfort. The use of CRP for the structural elements of the seat and backrest, as well as cut-outs within the area of the side bolsters and beneath the headrests result in a weight reduction of 9.6 kilos compared with the standard sports seats.

In addition, an Air Collar system can be ordered as an exclusive option for the BMW M4 Competition Convertible with M xDrive. It generates a three-stage adjustable airflow, providing pleasant warmth from behind to both driver and front passenger, also during open-top driving and regardless of the outside temperature.

BMW Curved Display and new BMW Operating System 8.5.

More than ever before, the new BMW M4 Coupé and the new BMW M4 Convertible combine exclusive sportscar flair with advanced digitalisation. M-specific information on the high-resolution BMW Curved Display, which is inclined towards the driver, helps the driver to focus fully on the task at hand. The fully digital display combination comprises a 12.3-inch display behind the steering wheel and a control monitor with a 14.9-inch screen diagonal.

The BMW Curved Display serves as a platform for the current BMW iDrive system used in the new BMW M4 Coupé and the new BMW M4 Convertible. The display and operating system, which also includes the BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant and is therefore actively designed for touch and voice control, is now based on the BMW Operating System 8.5. The M-specific graphics and contents on the information screen and on the control monitor have been complemented by a new form of operation for the standard automatic climate control. Temperature setting, ventilation intensity, heating of both seat and steering wheel can now, depending on how the vehicle is equipped, either be controlled per touch control via a special menu option in the lower part of the control display or by means of voice control.

Advancements in the area of digital operation come with a further reduction in the number of buttons and controls in the cockpit and a redesigned instrument panel. New control buttons for the fresh air vents in the centre of the dashboard and on the driver’s and front passenger’s side enable the setting of the desired direction of airflow by rotating and tilting. Moreover, the standard feature Ambient Lighting now also comprises contour lighting integrated into the cover of the central air vents. Like with the illumination of the footwells and the storage compartments in the area of the centre console and door openers, colour and brightness can be adapted according to individual preferences. There is a choice of nine different colours. The range of interior lighting also includes an atmospheric Welcome and Goodbye scenario as well as light signals that indicate an open door and incoming telephone calls.

The standard feature BMW Live Cockpit Professional also comprises the cloud-based navigation system BMW Maps. Another standard option is the BMW Head-up Display, which projects in an M-specific style driving-related information onto the windscreen, including multi-coloured rev range representation, shift lights and M View.

Furthermore, the standard feature BMW Live Cockpit Professional encompasses two USB ports for data transfer and a wireless network interface as well as Smartphone integration, which permits, inter alia, the use of Apple CarPlay^® and Android Auto™. In addition, telephony with wireless charging of compatible Smartphones and a hi-fi loudspeaker system with 10 sound sources and a 250 W power amplifier are all included in the standard equipment range for the new BMW M4 Coupé and the new BMW M4 Convertible.

Targeted customisation with M Carbon exterior package, M Race Track package and BMW M Performance Parts.

A model-specific M Carbon exterior package is available for precise customisation of these high-performance automobiles, bringing to the fore the racing character of both models even more intensively. The M Carbon exterior package includes inserts for the wide-open front air intakes and a rear diffuser, each featuring its own geometry, exterior mirror caps and – exclusively for the BMW M4 Coupé – a CFP rear spoiler. Vehicle weight has been reduced by up to 25 kilos thanks to the likewise optionally available M Race Track package, which also includes, in addition to M Carbon ceramic brakes, M Carbon bucket seats for both driver and front passenger as well as interior trim strips in High Gloss Carbon Fibre. 

BMW Performance Parts provide additional options for adapting the intensive driving experience and the dynamic aura of the new high-performance sportscars to suit the driver’s very own preferences. The spectrum of model-specific retrofit options encompasses exterior CFP components, M Performance forged wheels with centre lock, M Performance floor mats and M Performance steering wheel trims for individualisation of the interior.

Sinds de marktlancering van de huidige modelgeneratie van de BMW 4 Reeks Coupé, was de vraag vanuit Amerika het grootst. Ook de BMW 4 Reeks Cabrio was tot nu toe het populairst in de VS.

Dat verkoopsucces gaat gepaard met een buitengewoon hoge klantentevredenheid. In klantenenquêtes krijgen zowel de BMW 4 Reeks Coupé als de BMW 4 Reeks Cabrio een uitstekende score. Klanten legden de nadruk op de dynamische rijeigenschappen en het emotioneel rijke design van beide modellen, maar ook op het hoogwaardige gevoel van de gekozen materialen en de bouwkwaliteit. Door dergelijke positieve reacties van klanten aan te trekken, hebben de modellen van de BMW 4 Reeks in aanzienlijke mate bijgedragen aan de verdere versterking van BMW's profiel van een constructeur van uitzonderlijk dynamische, elegante en sportieve luxewagens.

Opvallende karakters met een gedeelde focus op rijplezier.

Voor de voorbije twee modelgeneraties heeft BMW zijn middelgrote prestigecoupés en -cabrio's gegroepeerd in hun eigen modelgamma. Dat benadrukt hun bijzonder intense focus op het rijplezier waarvoor het merk bekend staat. Qua design beperkt het onderscheid tussen de modellen van de nieuwe BMW 4 Reeks en de BMW 3 Reeks zich niet tot hun proporties en lijnen. Ook hun specifieke neus draagt ertoe bij. Daarnaast leggen hun bredere sporen en specifieke afstelling voor de ondersteltechnologie de basis voor een superieure, dynamische kracht. Binnen het BMW 4 Reeks-gamma vertegenwoordigen de coupé en cabrio verschillende karakters met individuele voertuigconcepten die specifieke klemtonen leggen.

De BMW 4 Reeks Coupé combineert zijn dynamische, vloeiende lijnen en elegante, gestrekte proporties met een koetswerk dat geoptimaliseerd werd voor een grotere wendbaarheid en een uitzonderlijke torsiestijfheid. Ook het onderstel staat geheel in het teken van dynamische uitmuntendheid. De achterbank, die is ontworpen voor twee passagiers, laat de inzittenden achterin optimaal genieten van de intense rijervaring. Ze is in drie delen neerklapbaar om de veelzijdigheid van het interieur te verhogen wanneer men omvangrijke vrijetijdsvoorwerpen vervoert of langere reizen maakt.

In de BMW 4 Reeks Cabrio kunnen de inzittenden van de vier zetels dan weer proeven van de sportieve rijervaring van de 4 Reeks en het plezier van open rijden. Het bijzonder stijlvolle gevoel van elegantie, dat voornamelijk te danken is aan het lage silhouet van de auto, is eveneens standaard. Een specifieke blikvanger van de BMW 4 Reeks Cabrio is het vouwdak met gebogen beugel, dat de stevigheid van een wegklapbare hardtop combineert met de klassieke esthetiek van een stoffen kap. Het elektrische aandrijfmechanisme van het dak kan worden geactiveerd bij snelheden tot 50 km/u. Het openen en sluiten duurt 18 seconden.

Stappen om de koolstofvoetafdruk van het bedrijf verder te verkleinen.

Uiterst efficiënte motoren, een uitgekiend, licht design en geoptimaliseerde aerodynamische eigenschappen dragen in belangrijke mate bij tot het rijplezier van de nieuwe BMW 4 Reeks Coupé en nieuwe BMW 4 Reeks Cabrio, en verlagen tegelijk het brandstofverbruik en de emissies. Ondertussen scherpt de 'mild hybrid'-technologie met 48V-batterij de vermogensontplooiing van bepaalde modellen aan en verhoogt ze tegelijk de efficiëntie. Naast de motorkap, de zijpanelen en de deuren zijn ook talrijke chassisonderdelen gemaakt van aluminium. En met een C_d van 0,25 in het geval van de coupé en 0,27 in het geval van de cabrio kunnen beide modellen een indrukwekkende luchtweerstandscoëfficiënt naar voren schuiven.

De sportzetels van de nieuwe BMW 4 Reeks Coupé zijn bekleed met M Performtex – de eerste keer dat dit oppervlaktemateriaal beschikbaar is in de modellen van het merk – als onderdeel van een nieuw productieproces dat minder CO₂-uitstoot genereert. De nieuwe EfficiencyCoach in de My BMW-app geeft nuttige tips om efficiënter te rijden. Daartoe analyseert de assistent de verbruikscijfers en vergelijkt hij ze met de cijfers van de voorbije maand en die van andere bestuurders in de gemeenschap met vergelijkbare motoren. Vervolgens gebruikt hij deze informatie als basis om aanbevelingen te geven voor een efficiënter rijgedrag.

Om een nog duurzamer totaalconcept te creëren, wordt steeds meer belang gehecht aan het gebruik van secundaire grondstoffen, naast een verder geoptimaliseerd gebruik van materialen en energiezuinigere productiemethoden. Voor BMW zijn de twee merkdoelstellingen – meer duurzaamheid en hoogwaardige normen – onlosmakelijk met elkaar verbonden, eerder dan tegenstrijdige factoren.

BMW Group zet zich niet alleen onvermoeibaar in om de efficiëntie van zijn wagens te optimaliseren, maar engageert zich ook voor het Klimaatakkoord van Parijs. De groep werkt ook samen met het gerenommeerde Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi) om CO₂e-reductiedoelstellingen voor zijn toeleveringsketen, productie en gebruiksfase in te voeren in het kader van zijn streven naar klimaatneutraliteit. Centraal in de ambitieuze duurzaamheidsdoelstellingen van de onderneming staat de doelstelling om de CO₂-uitstoot tegen 2030 met 40 procent per voertuig te verminderen in de hele waardeketen, in vergelijking met het cijfer van 2019. Tegelijkertijd streeft BMW Group ernaar om tegen uiterlijk 2050 in zijn hele waardeketen volledig klimaatneutraal te zijn.

Exterieurdesign. Opvallende visuele hints laten geen twijfel bestaan over de boeiende dynamiek.

Sportieve kracht en elegantie zijn de belangrijkste thema’s die op authentieke wijze tot uiting komen in het design van de BMW 4 Reeks-modellen. Gerichte aanpassingen aan het koetswerkdesign maken het voor de nieuwe BMW 4 Reeks Coupé en nieuwe BMW 4 Reeks Cabrio mogelijk om hun unieke karakters nog duidelijker uit te spelen. De nieuwe kenmerken scherpen het profiel van beide modellen aan en bieden opvallende aanwijzingen voor hun boeiende dynamiek, exclusiviteit en technologische vooruitgang.

Met hun opvallende lijnen en zuivere oppervlakteafwerking, die aansluiten bij de moderne designtaal van het merk, ademen de coupé en cabrio van het BMW 4 Reeks-gamma rijplezier en een onnavolgbare stijl. De kenmerken van het optionele M Sport-pakket zetten de dynamische uitstraling van de wagen nog extra kracht bij. Ze omvatten een diffuserelement in het onderste deel van de achterbumper, dat nu in hoogglanzend zwart is gelakt. Bovendien zagen de uitlaatpijpen links en rechts in de achterschort hun diameter toenemen van 90 tot 100 millimeter. Als uitbreiding op het M Sport-pakket kunnen klanten hun wagen ook bestellen met het M Sport-pakket Pro en het M Carbon-exterieurpakket.

Nieuw ontworpen koplampen, innovatieve Laserlight-achterlichten.

Een van de specifieke designelementen van de BMW 4 Reeks is de visueel krachtige voorkant, gevormd door de fijne led-koplampen en de verticaal geplaatste BMW-nieren. De luchtinlaten van het opvallende, naar voren gekantelde radiatorrooster hebben een roosterstructuur, zowel in de standaarduitvoering als met het M Sport-pakket. Hun rand is nu verkrijgbaar in mat chroom.

De nieuwe BMW 4 Reeks Coupé en de nieuwe BMW 4 Reeks Cabrio beschikken ook over visueel en functioneel opgewaardeerde koplampen. De led-modules in hun binnenwerk, die alle lichtfuncties verzekeren, werden hertekend en kregen een nieuwe structuur. De dim- en grootlichten worden gegenereerd door een enkele led-module. Een paar verticale en subtiel pijlvormige led-eenheden herbergen daarnaast de zijlichten, de dagrijlichten en de richtingaanwijzers. De technisch gefocuste look van de nieuwe lichtbronnen geeft de koplampen een hoogwaardige en progressieve look.

Adaptieve led-koplampen met niet-verblindende matrixgrootlichten zijn als optie verkrijgbaar. Ze zijn herkenbaar aan hun blauwe inleg en omvatten stadslichten en een bochtverlichting. De prismastructuur van de led-eenheden voor de stadslichten vormt een opvallend contrast met de gelijkmatige verlichting van de dagrijlichten.

Eveneens beschikbaar als onderdeel van het M Sport-pakket Pro of indien de Adaptive Led Headlights worden besteld, zijn de M Shadowline-lichten met donkere accenten binnenin. Als de optionele Comforttoegang is voorzien, genereren de koplampen bovendien een welkomstanimatie zodra de bestuurder en de autosleutel zich binnen drie meter van de auto bevinden.

Wanneer de nieuwe BMW 4 Reeks Coupé of nieuwe BMW 4 Reeks Cabrio is uitgerust met Adaptive Led Headlights, beschikt hij ook over bijzonder expressieve Laserlight-achterlichten. Deze modelspecifieke versie van het innovatieve lichteffect maakt gebruik van een technologie die voor het eerst te zien was in de BMW M4 CSL high-performance special edition, waarvan een beperkte oplage van 1.000 exemplaren werd geproduceerd. Daarbij verlichten laserdioden elk een glasvezelbundel, waardoor de achterunits een complexe lichtgrafiek krijgen. De uitgekiende lijnen van het driedimensionale Laserlight geven deze achterlichten – die hun debuut maken in een seriemodel – een exclusief en onmiskenbaar design.

Nieuwe koetswerkkleuren en lichtmetalen velgen.

Klanten kunnen het koetswerk van hun nieuwe BMW 4 Reeks Coupé en nieuwe BMW 4 Reeks Cabrio een persoonlijke toets geven met keuze uit twee niet-metaalkleuren en acht metaalkleuren. Cape York Green metallic en Fire Red metallic zijn nieuw in het gamma. Er wordt ook een brede waaier aan BMW Individual-lakafwerkingen en speciale BMW Individual-lakafwerkingen aangeboden.

Andere aantrekkelijke nieuwigheden zijn de optionele lichtmetalen velgen. De nieuwe BMW 4 Reeks Coupé en de nieuwe BMW 4 Reeks Cabrio worden allebei voor het eerst aangeboden met drie nieuwe 19"-designs. De nieuwe lichtmetalen BMW M-velgen in dubbelspaakdesign zijn te bestellen in Jet Black of in een tweekleurige uitvoering. De nieuwe lichtmetalen BMW Individual-velgen hebben van hun kant een Y-spakendesign en zijn afgewerkt in Midnight Grey.

Interieur en uitrusting. Progressieve stijl en een aura van zorgvuldig geperfectioneerde verfijning.

De standaard gemonteerde sportzetels en nieuw ontworpen stuurwielen dragen bij tot de intense rijervaring van de nieuwe BMW 4 Reeks Coupé en nieuwe BMW 4 Reeks Cabrio. Het grote BMW Curved Display geeft een frisse en bijzonder moderne interpretatie van de bestuurdergerichte cockpit waarvoor het merk bekend staat. De hoogwaardige, minutieus vervaardigde materialen en het nieuwe bedieningsconcept voor de verluchting en airconditioning dragen bij tot de hoogwaardige uitstraling van de cockpit. De aanpassingen aan het interieur van de nieuwe BMW 4 Reeks Coupé en de nieuwe BMW 4 Reeks Cabrio laten de inzittenden van het rijplezier genieten met een progressieve stijl en een langeafstandscomfort in een sfeer van zorgvuldig verfijnd raffinement.

Een van de baanbrekende nieuwigheden is een versie van de optionele zeteloppervlakken die debuteert in de nieuwe BMW 4 Reeks Coupé en die met duurzamere methoden wordt geproduceerd. Daarnaast zijn er nieuwe sierlijsten verkrijgbaar voor zowel de coupé als de cabrio. De standaarduitrusting omvat voortaan ook sfeerverlichting en elektrisch inklapbare buitenspiegels. Het gamma optionele uitrusting werd geherstructureerd om een bijzonder doelgerichte personalisering mogelijk te maken.

Nieuwe stuurwielen met standaard schakelhendels.

De nieuwste stuurwielen van de nieuwe BMW 4 Reeks Coupé en nieuwe BMW 4 Reeks Cabrio onderscheiden zich door hun moderne en sportieve design. Standaard krijgt de bestuurder een nieuw ontworpen lederen sportstuur met een meerhoekige velg en twee spaken. Het M Sport-pakket omvat voortaan een driespakig lederen M-stuur met vlakke onderkant en discrete middenmarkering.

Beide versies van de nieuw ontworpen stuurwielen hebben verlichte multifunctionele knoppen en schakelhendels. De schakelhendels, die nu standaard worden gemonteerd, maken bijzonder snelle manuele ingrepen in het schakelproces mogelijk en onderstrepen het scherpere, sportieve profiel van de nieuwe BMW 4 Reeks-modellen.

Detailwijzigingen voor het instrumentenbord, digitale klimaatregeling.

De introductie van de opgewaardeerde BMW iDrive met QuickSelect verbetert ook de werking van de ventilatie en klimaatregeling in de nieuwe BMW 4 Reeks Coupé en de nieuwe BMW 4 Reeks Cabrio. Dat geeft perfect weer welke voordelen een geavanceerde digitalisering biedt en draagt bij tot de verdere afname van het aantal fysieke knoppen en bedieningselementen in de cockpit. De temperatuurinstelling, de intensiteit van de ventilatie en – als de relevante functies zijn besteld – de zetel- en stuurverwarming kunnen nu worden ingesteld via het BMW Curved Display of met gesproken commando's met behulp van de BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant. Met nieuwe regelknoppen voor de ventilatieroosters in het midden van het instrumentenbord en aan de bestuurders- en passagierszijde van de cockpit kan de luchtstroomrichting worden aangepast met roterende en kantelende bewegingen. Klanten die de optionele Sensatec-afwerking voor het instrumentenbord bestellen, krijgen voortaan een verder verfijnde oppervlaktestructuur die de moderne, hoogwaardige sfeer van het interieur nog meer in de verf zet.

De standaard sfeerverlichting in de nieuwe BMW 4 Reeks Coupé en de nieuwe BMW 4 Reeks Cabrio omvat nu ook contourverlichting die in de bekleding rond de ventilatieroosters aan de centrale naad is geïntegreerd. Net als de verlichting van de voetruimtes, het opbergvak in het voorste deel van de middenconsole en de deuropeners kunnen kleur en helderheid daarvan worden aangepast volgens de persoonlijke voorkeuren van gebruikers. Zij kunnen daarbij kiezen uit negen kleuren. De functionaliteit van de interieurverlichting omvat ook een sfeervolle ‘Welcome’- en ‘Goodbye’-animatie, evenals lichtsignalen die aangeven dat er een deur open staat of een telefoonoproep binnenkomt.

M Performtex-zetelhoezen beleven première in de nieuwe BMW 4 Reeks Coupé.

De standaard gemonteerde sportzetels gaan naadloos samen met de interieuroppervlakken in geperforeerd Sensatec. De lederen bekleding Vernasca met decoratieve quiltafwerking, die als optie verkrijgbaar is voor de nieuwe BMW 4 Reeks Coupé en de nieuwe BMW 4 Reeks Cabrio wordt nu ook aangeboden in de nieuwe tweekleurige variant Black/Red. Beide modellen zijn ook leverbaar met het BMW Individual-leder Merino in drie verschillende kleuren.

Bij bestelling van het M Sport-pakket of de M Performance-uitvoering is de nieuwe BMW 4 Reeks Coupé voorzien van zittingen in zwart M Performtex. Deze veloursbekleding, die voor het eerst verkrijgbaar is bij BMW, combineert een hoge materiaalkwaliteit met een sportief design, een laag gewicht en een duurzamere productiemethode.

Nieuwe sierlijsten, exclusieve accenten met CraftedClarity.

Ook de beschikbare sierlijsten werden grondig herzien. Dark Graphite matt is nu standaard voor de nieuwe BMW 4 Reeks Coupé en de nieuwe BMW 4 Reeks Cabrio. Het M Sport-pakket omvat sierlijsten in Aluminium Rhombicle Anthracite. Voorts omvat de optielijst Fineline Light Open-Pored en Grey Blue Ash Open-Pored Fine-Wood en M Interior Trim Carbon Fibre.

Dankzij het gebruik van uiterst hoogwaardige materialen kunnen ook in andere delen van het interieur opvallende accenten worden aangebracht om zijn moderne, hoogwaardige karakter te versterken. Voor de nieuwe BMW 4 Reeks Coupé en de nieuwe BMW 4 Reeks Cabrio zijn gegalvaniseerde toepassingen beschikbaar voor het bedieningspaneel in de deuren, waaronder de ruitbediening en de vergrendelingsschakelaar. Ook kunnen klanten CraftedClarity-glastoepassingen bestellen – nog een nieuwigheid op de optielijst. Die geven de versnellingshendel, de BMW iDrive Controller en de Start/Stop-knop een bijzonder exclusieve uitstraling, zowel visueel als tactiel.

Krachtbron en rijervaring.Krachtig, efficiënt en uiterst zelfverzekerd.

Het gamma aandrijflijnen voor de nieuwe BMW 4 Reeks omvat krachtige en uiterst efficiënte benzine- en dieselmotoren met BMW TwinPower Turbo-technologie en elektrificering in de vorm van 'mild hybrid'-technologie met 48V-batterij. Alle aandrijfgehelen bieden een uitzonderlijke mix van sportief rijplezier en zuinigheid. Stuk voor stuk maken ze deel uit van de huidige generatie moduleerbare Efficient Dynamics-motoren en worden ze standaard gekoppeld aan de sportieve Steptronic-achttrapsautomaat. De schakelhendels aan het stuur, die eveneens standaard zijn in de nieuwe BMW 4 Reeks Coupé en nieuwe BMW 4 Reeks Cabrio, maken snelle manuele ingrepen in het schakelproces mogelijk en dragen zo bij tot de dynamische rijervaring.

De zescilinder-in-lijnmotoren zijn te vinden onder de motorkap van de M Performance-versies van beide modelreeksen (zie afzonderlijk hoofdstuk), maar ook in de nieuwe BMW 430d xDrive Coupé en BMW 430d Cabrio met een 210 kW/286 pk sterke dieselmotor. Daarnaast omvat het gamma ook twee viercilinder-benzinemotoren die respectievelijk 135 kW/184 pk en 180 kW/245 pk ontwikkelen, alsook een viercilinder-dieselmotor met 140 kW/190 pk. Naargelang de modelvariant wordt dat vermogen via een klassieke achterwielaandrijving of de intelligente BMW xDrive-vierwielaandrijving overgebracht op de weg.

Mild hybrid-technologie optimaliseert de vermogensontplooiing en efficiëntie.

Alle zescilinder-in-lijnmotoren die beschikbaar zijn voor de nieuwe BMW 4 Reeks Coupé en nieuwe BMW 4 Reeks Cabrio, worden net als de viercilinder-dieselmotor geleverd met 'mild hybrid'-technologie met 48V-batterij voor een snedigere vermogensontplooiing en meer efficiëntie. De elektrische hulpaandrijving heeft de vorm van een 48V-startgenerator en maakt het vermogen van 8 kW/11 pk onmiddellijk beschikbaar als reactie op de geringste beweging van het gaspedaal. Deze elektrische boost verbetert de dynamische respons van het aandrijfsysteem bij acceleraties vanuit stilstand en bij hernemingen vanaf middelhoge toerentallen. De elektrische aandrijving ondersteunt de verbrandingsmotor ook bij constante snelheden, zodat die laatste zo vaak mogelijk binnen zijn optimale belastingbereik kan werken.

Het ‘mild hybrid’-systeem maakt het bovendien mogelijk om via ‘Brake Energy Regeneration’ elektrische energie te recupereren, die dan wordt opgeslagen in de 48V-batterij. De energie die op die manier efficiënt wordt geoogst, wordt niet alleen gebruikt voor de elektrische hulpaandrijving, maar ook gevoed aan het elektrische 12V-systeem met behulp van een spanningstransformator. Zo kunnen de stroomverbruikers van het voertuig nog efficiënter worden gevoed.

Specifieke chassistechnologie voor een sportieve rijervaring.

Een uitstekende koetswerkstijfheid, een intelligent licht design, een gelijkmatige gewichtsverdeling (50:50) en geoptimaliseerde aerodynamische eigenschappen vormen de ideale basis om de nieuwe BMW 4 Reeks Coupé en nieuwe BMW 4 Reeks Cabrio een opmerkelijk wendbaar en dynamisch rijgedrag te geven. Dat wordt nog ondersteund door de gesofistikeerde chassistechnologie, die nauwkeurig werd afgestemd op de gewichtsverdeling.

Liftgerelateerde schokdempers verfijnen het evenwicht tussen fascinerende sportieve prestaties en een superieur langeafstandscomfort. Er zijn verschillende opties beschikbaar om het karakter van de wagen te personaliseren, waaronder de M Sport-ophanging, de adaptieve M-ophanging met variabel sportstuur en de M Sport-remmen.

Een brede waaier aan systemen voor autonoom rijden en parkeren.

Het gamma systemen voor geautomatiseerd rijden en parkeren is al even uitgebreid. De nieuwe BMW 4 Reeks Coupé en nieuwe BMW 4 Reeks Cabrio zijn standaard uitgerust met een botswaarschuwing vooraan met reminterventie, een snelheidsregelaar met remfunctie, Speed Limit Info met 'niet inhalen'-indicator, een manuele snelheidslimietassistent en Lane Departure Warning met tegenstuurfunctie. Het optionele Driving Assistant Professional-pakket omvat de stuur- en rijstrookassistent, de actieve snelheidsregelaar met Stop&Go-functie, de automatische snelheidslimietassistent, de snelheidscontrole en de verkeerslichtherkenning.

Ook Park Distance Control met sensoren voor- en achteraan behoort tot de standaarduitrusting. De Parking Assistant, die eveneens standaard is, maakt het mogelijk om automatisch in en uit parkeerplaatsen te manoeuvreren. Hij omvat ook een achteruitrijcamera en Reversing Assistant. De optionele Park Assist Plus-functies Park View, Panorama View en Remote 3D View zijn eveneens beschikbaar.

De M Performance-modellen in de nieuwe BMW 4 Reeks. Opvallende karakters bovenaan het modellengamma.

De nieuwe BMW 4 Reeks Coupé en nieuwe BMW 4 Reeks Cabrio worden aangevoerd door sportieve elitemodellen die in de bekende M-mal gegoten zijn. De prestatiegerichte wagens van BMW M GmbH vertalen het dynamische potentieel van de voertuigconcepten van de BMW 4 Reeks in een indrukwekkend effect. Uiterst krachtige zescilinder-in-lijnmotoren, een specifieke afstelling voor het onderstel en typische M-designelementen, zowel aan de binnen- als aan de buitenkant, onderscheiden ze van de andere versies.

De M Performance-modellen van de BMW 4 Reeks zijn verkrijgbaar met zowel benzine- als dieselmotoren, elk met een cilinderinhoud van 3,0 liter. De M-typische prestatie-eigenschappen van deze zescilinders-in-lijn worden onder meer ondersteund door de nieuwste M TwinPower Turbo-technologie, die individueel op de motor is afgestemd. Een ander gemeenschappelijk kenmerk is de 'mild hybrid'-technologie met 48V-batterij, die met haar vermogen van 8 kW/11 pk een elektrische boost produceert die de motoren een nog snedigere respons geeft.

De zescilinder-in-lijn in de benzinemodellen BMW M440i xDrive Coupé en BMW M440i xDrive Cabrio levert een maximumvermogen van 275 kW/374 pk en een maximumkoppel van 500 Nm. De dieselversies BMW M440d xDrive Coupé en BMW M440d xDrive Cabrio worden dan weer aangedreven door een zescilinder-in-lijn met een maximumvermogen van 250 kW/340 pk en een maximumkoppel van 700 Nm. Deze topmodellen beschikken standaard over de M Sport-ophanging met Variable Sport Steering, alsook over de sportieve Steptronic-achttrapsautomaat met ultrasnedige schakelovergangen, de M Sport-remmen en het M Sport-differentieel.

Nieuwe BMW-nieren, standaard zwarte uitlaateindpijpen.

Een reeks selecte designaccenten getuigt nog opvallender van het dynamische karakter van de M Performance-modellen. Zo is de nieuwe editie van deze modellen voorzien van BMW-nieren met een omlijsting in zwarte hoogglans en horizontale spijlen met een M-logo. Alle elementen in de voorbumperschort, die vroeger in Cerium Grey waren afgewerkt, zijn nu uitgevoerd in zwarte hoogglans. Zo herinnert het uiterlijk van de modellen aan de voorzijde nog meer aan het design van de BMW M4 high-performance sportwagens.

Achteraan laat de trapeziumvormige uitlaatpijp van de M Performance-modellen geen twijfel bestaan over de aanwezigheid van een ultrakrachtige motor. Ze zijn nu standaard uitgevoerd in hoogglanzend zwart, zodat alle elementen van de optionele hoogglanzende M Shadowline-afwerking al in de standaarduitrusting van deze modellen zijn inbegrepen.

Exclusieve accenten: M-buitenspiegelbehuizingen, diffuser in koolstofvezel.

Een ander designelement uit het BMW M4-gamma werd geïntegreerd in de flanken van de nieuwste M Performance-modellen uit de BMW 4 Reeks, met standaard M-buitenspiegels met dubbele deursteun.

Het optionele M Carbon-exterieurpakket omvat buitenspiegelbehuizingen en inzetstukken voor de buitenste luchtinlaten uit met koolstofvezel versterkte kunststof (CFRP). De nieuwe BMW 4 Reeks Coupé heeft ook een Gurney-achterspoiler in koolstofvezel. Deze optie voegt ook aan het onderste deel van de achterschort ook een diffuser in koolstofvezel toe, die exclusief is voor de M Performance-modellen.

Meer uitgesproken sportwagensfeer in het interieur.

Sportzetels in de nieuwe bekleding M Performtex voor de Coupé en Vernasca-leder voor de Cabrio, interieurelementen in Aluminium Rhombicle Anthracite, M-deurdrempels, M-pedalen, een M-voetsteun voor de bestuurder en M-specifieke grafische elementen voor het BMW Curved Display kenmerken de opvallende uitstraling van de M Performance-modellen. De M-sportzetels in Vernasca-leder zijn als optie verkrijgbaar voor de topversies van de nieuwe BMW 4 Reeks Coupé en zijn verkrijgbaar in zwart met blauw contrasterend quiltmotief of in de nieuwe tweekleurige afwerking Black/Coral Red.

Een nieuwe versie van het lederen M-stuur tilt het sportwagengevoel in het topmodel naar een nog hoger niveau. De vlakke onderzijde, de rode middenmarkering en de contrasterende naden in de kleuren van BMW M GmbH helpen de rijervaring aan boord van de M Performance-versies van de nieuwe BMW 4 Reeks nog meeslepender te maken.

Weergave- en bedieningssysteem, connectiviteit. Het nieuwe BMW Operating System 8.5 en innovatieve digitale diensten.

Ook de vooruitgang op het vlak van digitalisering is duidelijk te zien in de nieuwste editie van de BMW 4 Reeks. Dat is voornamelijk te danken aan het opgewaardeerde BMW iDrive-display en het bedieningssysteem met QuickSelect op basis van het BMW Operating System 8.5. Om een intuïtieve, eenvoudige bediening voor tal van functies aan te bieden, alsook
toegang tot innovatieve digitale diensten, beschikt de nieuwste generatie van de BMW iDrive in de nieuwe BMW 4 Reeks Coupé en nieuwe BMW 4 Reeks Cabrio over een hertekend startscherm en QuickSelect-technologie voor een snelle toegang, met een verbeterde menustructuur die inspiratie put uit consumentenelektronica.

De verbeterde BMW iDrive met QuickSelect wordt samen met het BMW Curved Display en de BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant geleverd, wat betekent dat hij zorgvuldig werd afgestemd op bediening via het aanraakscherm en natuurlijke taal. Het bedieningssysteem van de nieuwe BMW 4 Reeks Coupé en nieuwe BMW 4 Reeks Cabrio omvat bovendien multifunctionele toetsen op het stuurwiel en, als optie, het Head-Up Display. Door de juiste informatie op de juiste plaats weer te geven, helpt de nieuwe BMW iDrive een doelgerichte en zelfverzekerde rijervaring af te leveren.

BMW iDrive met QuickSelect: functies weergegeven op één niveau en inschakelbaar met rapid access-technologie.

Het nieuwe startscherm van het BMW Operating System 8.5 geeft steeds de kaarten van het navigatiesysteem of andere individueel configureerbare grafische elementen weer op het controlescherm. Op hetzelfde niveau verschijnen widgets in een verticale opstelling aan de bestuurderszijde van het display. Zo kunnen bestuurders met een verticale veegbeweging van de vinger overschakelen tussen deze widgets. Met de QuickSelect-functie kan de op deze manier geselecteerde functie rechtstreeks worden geactiveerd zonder een submenu in te voeren. En zodra de relevante instellingen zijn gekozen, volstaat een snelle tik op het home-pictogram onderaan het bedieningsscherm om terug te keren naar het startscherm. Naast het startpictogram vindt u nu ook pictogrammen die u rechtstreeks toegang geven tot het menu van de airconditioning, het menu Alle Apps en, indien geactiveerd, Apple CarPlay^® en Android Auto™.

De nieuwe vlakke menustructuur maakt het veel eenvoudiger om de gewenste functies en instellingen te activeren. De digitale inhoud is – net als de hardware in de vorm van het BMW Curved Display – ontworpen om de bestuurdergerichtheid waarvoor BMW bekend staat, te verbeteren.

BMW Maps-navigatiesysteem nu met Augmented View.

Het cloudondersteunde navigatiesysteem BMW Maps maakt deel uit van de standaard BMW Live Cockpit Plus. Met de introductie van het BMW Operating System 8.5 in de nieuwe BMW 4 Reeks Coupé en de nieuwe BMW 4 Reeks Cabrio maakt het systeem het nu nog eenvoudiger om bestemmingen in te voeren en kan het bijkomende informatie geven tijdens het rijden.

Nieuw is ook de functie 'Augmented View', die net als het BMW Head-Up Display beschikbaar is met de optionele BMW Live Cockpit Professional. Die vult de kaartweergave van het navigatiesysteem aan door een live videostream van het bestuurdersuitzicht op het bedieningsscherm of het instrumentenbord weer te geven en dit te verrijken met tips en informatie die passen bij de context. Aan verwarrende kruispunten bijvoorbeeld wordt een geanimeerde richtingspijl geïntegreerd in het videobeeld om de bestuurder te helpen de beste afslag voor de geplande route te nemen. De functie Augmented View kan de bestuurder ook helpen om een parkeerplaats te vinden door aanvullende informatie weer te geven.

Personalisering met de BMW ID en My BMW-app.

Bestuurders van de nieuwe BMW 4 Reeks Coupé en nieuwe BMW 4 Reeks Cabrio kunnen hun BMW ID ook gemakkelijker gebruiken om de gebruikerservaring te personaliseren. Voortaan volstaat het om met een smartphone een QR-code te scannen om het persoonlijke profiel van de klant te importeren, synchroniseerbare instellingen te laden en de sleutel die in de wagen wordt gedetecteerd automatisch te koppelen aan de BMW ID.

De wagen wordt ook aan de My BMW-app toegevoegd zonder dat de klant iets hoeft te doen. De My BMW-app is gratis beschikbaar in de app stores voor zowel iOS als Android en fungeert als een universele digitale interface die op elk moment informatie geeft over de status van de wagen, bijvoorbeeld wat het resterende rijbereik en eventuele service- en onderhoudsvereisten betreft. Naargelang de specificaties van de wagen biedt het ook de mogelijkheid om bepaalde functies vanop afstand te bedienen: de wagen lokaliseren, de deuren vergrendelen en ontgrendelen of de onmiddellijke omgeving en het interieur van de wagen monitoren met Remote View. De My BMW-app kan tevens worden gebruikt om adressen van een smartphone naar het navigatiesysteem van de wagen te verzenden. De functie My Trips, inclusief Efficiency Trainer en maandelijkse beoordeling, verschaft de gebruiker gegevens en evaluaties voor afgelegde afstanden, brandstofverbruik en gemiddelde snelheid.

Optimale connectiviteit met Personal eSIM en 5G-standaard voor mobiele communicatie.

Klanten van de nieuwe BMW 4 Reeks Coupé en de nieuwe BMW 4 Reeks Cabrio kunnen standaard de Personal eSIM activeren,
als aanvulling op de ingebouwde mobiele simkaart van de wagen. Zo kan de wagen de 5G-norm voor mobiele communicatie gebruiken. De persoonlijke eSIM-kaart stelt de klant in staat om de communicatie- en connectiviteitsfuncties die gedekt worden door zijn mobiele contract met de auto eenvoudig te gebruiken, zelfs in situaties waarin hij zijn smartphone niet bij zich heeft. Daaronder valt ook het streamen van data via de wifi-hotspot.

Een stralingsarme verbinding met de buitenantenne van de wagen wordt gebruikt om te telefoneren en gegevens te streamen via de Personal eSIM. Alle telefoonfuncties kunnen worden bediend met het BMW iDrive systeem of de BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant. De persoonlijke eSIM kan worden gebruikt in alle landen waar BMW Connected Drive-diensten beschikbaar zijn. Het breidt het bestaande gsm-contract van de klant uit, wat extra kosten met zich kan meebrengen.

Parkeerkosten en brandstofrekeningen kunnen rechtstreeks vanuit het voertuig worden betaald.

In veel Europese landen stelt de BMW ID bestuurders van de nieuwe BMW 4 Reeks Coupé en BMW 4 Reeks Cabrio in staat om parkeerkosten rechtstreeks vanuit hun wagen te betalen. Het voertuig detecteert automatisch of de dienst beschikbaar is bij aankomst in een parkeerzone en geeft de betalingsfunctie weer als de zone wordt gedekt door een van de verbonden aanbieders. De parkeerplaats kan snel en eenvoudig worden betaald met de creditcard die is geregistreerd in de My BMW-app. De reservering eindigt automatisch wanneer het voertuig de parkeerplaats weer verlaat.

Bovendien kunnen Duitse bestuurders ook de brandstofrekeningen van hun auto digitaal betalen na het tanken bij deelnemende tankstations. Net als bij de betaaldienst voor parkeergeld gebeurt dit met de kredietkaartgegevens die voorheen geregistreerd werden in de voertuig-app.

BMW M Performance Parts. Vrucht van de bewezen expertise in de autosport.

Meer dan ooit onderscheidt de onnavolgbare combinatie van rijplezier en elegant sportief design van de nieuwe BMW 4 Reeks zich van de massa in het segment van de prestigieuze middenklassers. Het voertuigconcept dat aan de basis ligt van de nieuwe BMW 4 Reeks Coupé en de nieuwe BMW 4 Reeks Cabrio biedt een buitengewoon potentieel voor superieure rijeigenschappen. En nu zijn de nieuwste upgrades voor het koetswerk en interieur beschikbaar om hun dynamische karakter nog intenser in de verf te zetten. Naast het M Sport-pakket, het M Sport-pakket Pro en het M Carbon-exterieurpakket dat als fabrieksoptie verkrijgbaar is, bieden de items in het gamma van BMW M Performance Parts nog meer mogelijkheden om het profiel van de nieuwe BMW 4 Reeks Coupé en de nieuwe BMW 4 Reeks Cabrio tot in de puntjes aan te scherpen.

De modelspecifieke retrofitopties uit het gamma originele BMW-accessoires werden ontwikkeld op basis van de beproefde autosportexpertise van BMW M GmbH. Ze onderstrepen de dynamische uitstraling van de nieuwe BMW 4 Reeks Coupé en nieuwe BMW 4 Reeks Cabrio en komen tegemoet aan de technische uitdagingen die de behoefte aan een licht en aerodynamisch design met zich meebrengt. Met zijn exclusieve design, hoogwaardige materialen en topkwaliteit zetten deze items voor het koetswerk, het chassis en de cockpit nog een stap verder om het gevoel van het racecircuit over te brengen op de weg.

Een van de items die de wagens kunnen doordringen met een racelook, is het M Performance-radiatorrooster in koolstofvezel en het bevestigingsonderdeel van de M Performance-zijdrempels in koolstofvezel. De lichtmetalen velgen die beschikbaar zijn voor de nieuwe BMW 4 Reeks Coupé en de nieuwe BMW 4 Reeks Cabrio versterken hun visuele exclusiviteit en kunnen worden besteld in een 18"- of 19"-formaat. Eveneens verkrijgbaar zijn gesmede 20" M Performance-velgen. Met hun gewichtsbesparende constructie en montage met sportbanden in verschillende maten voor een optimale overdracht van de bochtkrachten, verbeteren ze ook de dynamische prestaties van de auto’s. Tot de hoogtepunten van de interieuruitrusting behoren de M Performance-rugleuningen in Alcantara/koolstofvezel, de M Performance-sierlijsten in koolstofvezel en de M Performance-deurdrempels in koolstofvezel.

Uitstekende prestaties, fascinerende luxe en een zelfverzekerde uitstraling kenmerken de BMW M8 Competition Coupé (gecombineerd brandstofverbruik: 11,4 – 11,0 l/100 km volgens WLTP; gecombineerde CO2-uitstoot: 260 – 251 g/km), de BMW M8 Competition Cabrio (gecombineerd brandstofverbruik: 11,6 – 11,2 l/100 km volgens WLTP). LTP; gecombineerde CO2-uitstoot: 264 – 255 g/km) en de BMW M8 Competition Gran Coupé (gecombineerd brandstofverbruik: 11,6 – 11,2 l/100 km volgens WLTP; gecombineerde CO2-uitstoot: 264 – 256 g/km). Designwijzigingen en een geoptimaliseerde bediening.

De nieuwe editie van de BMW M8, verkrijgbaar in drie koetswerkversies, is bijzonder populair dankzij toevoegingen aan het gamma koetswerkkleuren en de lichtmetalen M-velgen. Bijkomende personaliseringsmogelijkheden zijn de Shadow Line M-lichten, die voor het eerst verkrijgbaar zijn op de luxueuze high-performance sportwagens. Het Merinoleder/Alcantara in de nieuwe kleurvariant Black/Sakhir Orange geeft het interieur een verfrissende toets. Bovendien wordt het bedieningscomfort verhoogd met het 12,3"-aanraakscherm van het BMW iDrive-besturingssysteem.

Nieuw elan voor de aanwezigheid van BMW M GmbH in het luxesegment

De BMW M8 Competition Coupé, de BMW M8 Competition Cabrio en de BMW M8 Competition Gran Coupé staan samen aan de top van het modelgamma van BMW M GmbH, dat met deze modellenreeks sterk aanwezig is in het luxesegment. Met hun onafhankelijke koetswerkconcepten belichamen de drie topmodellen elk een individuele expressie van de typische M-prestaties in de prestigieuze competitieve omgeving van luxueuze sportwagens.

Hun gemeenschappelijke hoofdkenmerk is de aandrijf- en chassistechnologie, ontworpen voor een uiterst emotionele rijervaring. Voor de uitstekende prestaties zorgt een V8-motor met M TwinPower Turbo-technologie, die een maximumvermogen van 460 kW/625 pk en een maximumkoppel van 750 Nm levert. Door zijn typische M-karakter voor hoge snelheden ontwikkelt de motor een hoog aandrijfkoppel over brede belastingsbereiken, dat optimaal op de weg wordt overgebracht via een 8-traps M Steptronic-versnellingsbak met Drivelogic en de M xDrive-vierwielaandrijving. Hun nauwkeurige coördinatie maakt opwindende sportieve rijmanoeuvres mogelijk, zoals accelereren vanuit stilstand naar 100 km/u in slechts 3,2 seconden (BMW M8 Competition Coupé en BMW M8 Competition Gran Coupé) of 3,3 seconden (BMW M8 Competition Cabrio).

De chassistechnologie, ontwikkeld aan de hand van race-knowhow en op maat gemaakt voor elk model, garandeert de typische harmonie van dynamiek, wendbaarheid en precisie in het rijgedrag van BMW M-modellen en dit in elke situatie. Ook werd gebruik gemaakt van de ervaring die werd opgedaan bij de ontwikkeling van de BMW M8 GTE-racewagen.

Acht nieuwe koetswerkkleuren, première van Shadow Line M-lampen

Krachtige vormen, royale en elegante oppervlakken, aerodynamisch geoptimaliseerde lijnen en specifieke M-designkenmerken die zijn afgestemd op de functionele vereisten van een high-performance sportwagen kenmerken het onmiskenbare uiterlijk van de BMW M8 Competition Coupé, de BMW M8 Competition Cabrio en de BMW M8 Competition Gran Coupé. Het heldere koetswerkdesign wordt nu bijzonder intensief onderstreept door nieuwe koetswerkkleuren. De update van het lakprogramma telt acht varianten die voor het eerst beschikbaar zijn op de drie modellen.

Het nieuwe gamma omvat de koetswerkkleuren Skyscraper grey metallic, Brooklyn grey metallic en Isle of Man green metallic en de BMW Individual lak Tansanite blue metallic. Daarnaast zijn vier nieuwe varianten van de bijzonder hoogwaardige Frozen-afwerkingen beschikbaar, die met hun zijdematte afwerkingen op indrukwekkende wijze de moderne designtaal van de BMW M8-modellen in de verf zetten. De BMW Individual speciale uitvoeringen Frozen Pure Grey metallic, Frozen Deep Grey metallic, Frozen Deep Green metallic en Frozen Tanzanite Blue metallic zijn eveneens verkrijgbaar.

De BMW Laser Light-koplampen met adaptieve bochtverlichting en verblindingsvrije grootlichtassistent BMW Selective Beam biedt standaard een optimaal zicht in verschillende weersomstandigheden en rijsituaties. Als optie zijn ze nu ook beschikbaar als Shadow Line M-lampen voor de nieuwe editie van de high-performance sportwagens. Het donkere design van de inzetstukken en chroomelementen in de koplampen, in combinatie met het standaard hoogglanzende zwarte frame van de BMW-nieren, draagt bij tot een bijzonder opvallende en sportieve look vooraan.

Nieuwe BMW M-lichtmetalen velgen van 20" met sterspaakdesign

De chassistechnologie van de nieuwe BMW M8-modellen omvat elektronisch gestuurde schokdempers en een elektromechanische M Servotronic-stuurinrichting, evenals een geïntegreerd remsysteem dat twee pedaalkenmerken mogelijk maakt. Zo kan de rijder kiezen tussen een comfortgericht en een sportief-direct pedaalgevoel. Als alternatief voor het standaard M Compound-remsysteem zijn als optie M Carbon-keramische remmen verkrijgbaar.

De dynamische stabiliteitscontrole DSC (Dynamic Stability Control) stelt de bestuurder in staat om de M Dynamic-modus te activeren, waardoor de wielen meer kunnen slippen. In combinatie met het achterwielaangedreven design van de M xDrive kunnen bijzonder sportieve rijmanoeuvres met gecontroleerde drifts worden ervaren. De standaarduitrusting omvat ook BMW M-lichtmetalen velgen van 20" met high-performance banden in de maten 275/35 R 20 vooraan en 285/35 R 20 achteraan. Andere lichtmetalen M-velgen van hetzelfde formaat zijn als optie verkrijgbaar, waaronder een nieuwe variant met sterspaakdesign en een tweekleurige zwart/grijze uitvoering.

M-sportzetels en M Carbon-kuipzetels in nieuwe versie met leder/Alcantara

Het interieur van de nieuwe BMW M8-modellen combineert een typisch M-cockpitdesign met moderne luxe. Het standaard BMW Head-Up Display biedt specifieke M-displays. De instelknop op de middenconsole geeft rechtstreeks toegang tot de instellingen voor motor, demper, stuurinrichting, M xDrive en remsysteem. Twee varianten van de individueel gecreëerde M-setup kunnen permanent worden opgeslagen, samen met de gewenste instellingen voor het rijgeluid, de schakeleigenschappen, de stabiliteitscontrole en de Auto Start Stop-functie. Ze kunnen dan worden opgeroepen door een van de twee M-toetsen op het stuurwiel in te drukken. Daarnaast kan de M Mode-toets op de middenconsole worden gebruikt om de rijhulpsystemen aan te sturen, alsook de displays in het instrumentenbord en het head-updisplay. U kunt de instellingen ROAD, SPORT en TRACK selecteren.

De standaard M-sportzetels ondersteunen ook de intensieve rijervaring in de high-performance sportwagen. De als optie verkrijgbare M Carbon-kuipzetels creëren een onvervalst racegevoel voor bestuurder en passagier. Met hun op structuur gebaseerde ontwerp, zichtbare oppervlakken van met koolstofvezel versterkte kunststof (CFRP), geïntegreerde hoofdsteunen, openingen in de rugleuningen en zijwangen en geleiders voor meerpuntsveiligheidsgordels combineren ze een racefunctionaliteit met langeafstandscomfort en luxueus vakmanschap. Ze zijn verwarmd en bieden ook elektrische verstelmogelijkheden, een verlicht “M8”-opschrift op de hoofdsteunen en een geheugenfunctie aan bestuurderszijde.

In combinatie met de M-sportzetels en de M Carbon-kuipzetels zijn de nieuwe BMW M8-modellen standaard voorzien van een bekleding in Merinoleder/Alcantara. Die is nu voor het eerst ook verkrijgbaar in de kleurencombinatie Black/Sakhir Orange. Bovendien wordt de zwarte Alcantara-bekleding in alle uitrustingsversies nu uitgebreid tot het instrumentenbord en de bovenste delen van de deurdrempels.

Geoptimaliseerd bedieningscomfort dankzij 12,3"-scherm

De BMW Live Cockpit Professional maakt ook deel uit van de standaarduitrusting van de BMW M8 Competition Coupé, de BMW M8 Competition Cabrio en de BMW M8 Competition Gran Coupé. Het omvat een bedieningsdisplay waarvan de schermgrootte inmiddels is gegroeid van 10,25 naar 12,3 inch. De aanraakfunctie van de grote boordmonitor maakt een bijzonder snelle, comfortabele en intuïtieve bediening van talrijke voertuigfuncties mogelijk.

De BMW Live Cockpit Professional omvat het online navigatiesysteem BMW Maps en de BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant. Daarnaast onderstreept de standaarduitrusting met Driving Assistant, Parking Assistant inclusief Reversing Assistant, telefonie met draadloos opladen en het Harman Kardon Surround Sound System het exclusieve karakter van de nieuwe BMW M8-modellen.

Munich. The sales launch of the BMW iX and the BMW i4 in November 2021 marks the beginning of a new era of purely electric premium mobility. In addition to sustainable driving pleasure, the two new models also offer the latest innovations in the field of driver assistance systems and, with the new generation of the BMW iDrive operating system, represent the future of intuitive interaction between driver and vehicle. Parallel to this, the BMW model range will also undergo targeted further development in autumn 2021. Additional drive variants and innovations in the areas of design and digital services increase the diversity and attractiveness of the current range.

The model range of the new BMW 4 Series Convertible will be expanded by three new drive variants from November 2021. In future, an 8-speed Steptronic transmission will be standard equipment for one additional model variant each of the BMW X1 and the BMW X2. New paint finishes are available for the BMW 1 Series, BMW 2 Series Gran Coupé, BMW X2, BMW X3 and BMW X4 models. The functional scope of the My BMW App is complemented by further digital services. The BMW i brand is not only setting trends with its two new models. The pioneer of all-electric premium mobility, the BMW i3, will be offered in a limited Unique Forever Edition from November 2021. And in the BMW iX3, a predictive battery heat management system will optimise the way in which DC fast charging stations will be used in the future.

BMW 4 Series Convertible: Two additional BMW M automobiles and a further all-wheel drive model.
The combination of sporty performance and open-air pleasure in a BMW 4 Series model will be enriched even further in autumn 2021. In the new BMW M 440i Convertible (combined fuel consumption: 8.3 – 7.7 l/100 km according to WLTP; combined CO₂ emissions: 190 - 175 g/km according to WLTP), a 275 kW/374 hp inline 6-cylinder petrol engine with 48-volt mild hybrid technology ensures particularly purist driving pleasure by transferring its power to the rear wheels. An 8-speed Steptronic sports transmission and an M sports differential in the final drive also contribute to the thrilling driving dynamics as standard. This is reflected, among other things, by accerlation from 0 - 100 km/h from standstill in 5.2 seconds.

An inline 6-cylinder diesel engine and the intelligent BMW xDrive all-wheel drive system make the second new BMW M automobile a thrilling open-top drive. With a peak output of 250 kW/340 hp, a maximum torque of 700 Nm and 48-volt mild hybrid technology, the new BMW M440d xDrive Convertible (combined fuel consumption: 6.6 – 6.0 l/100 km according to WLTP; combined CO₂ emissions: 172 - 157 g/km according to WLTP) has impressive pulling power. 5.0 seconds are sufficient for the sprint from 0 to 100 km/h. An 8-speed Steptronic sports transmission and an M sports differential are also standard equipment in this model variant.

In addition, the model range for the open-top four-seater in the premium mid-size segment is expanded to include the new BMW 430i xDrive Convertible (combined fuel consumption: 8.1 – 7.3 l/100 km according to WLTP; combined CO₂ emissions: 183 - 166 g/km according to WLTP). With its 180 kW/245 hp 4-cylinder petrol engine, an 8-speed Steptronic transmission and intelligent all-wheel drive, it accelerates from zero to 100 km/h in 6.3 seconds. The 8-speed Steptronic sports transmission and the M sports differential are optionally available for this model.

BMW X1 xDrive18d and BMW X2 xDrive18d now feature 8-speed Steptronic transmission as standard.
Driving pleasure and comfort will be enhanced in autumn 2021 as the 8-speed Steptronic transmission is included in further model variants of the BMW X1 and BMW X2 as standard. The fast and efficient automatic transmission is characterised by a high level of shifting comfort and a particularly favourable internal efficiency. In future, it will also be available as standard with the 110 kW/150 hp 4-cylinder diesel engine of the BMW X1 xDrive18d models (combined fuel consumption: 6.1 – 5.4 l/100 km according to WLTP; combined CO₂ emissions: 159 – 142 g/km according to WLTP) and the BMW X2 xDrive18d (combined fuel consumption: 6.1 – 5.4 l/100 km according to WLTP; combined CO₂ emissions: 160 - 142 g/km according to WLTP).

With the new drive combination, both models accelerate from zero to 100 km/h in 9.4 seconds. An optional 8-speed Steptronic sports transmission is also available, operated by paddle shifts on the steering wheel.

New paint finishes for numerous current BMW models allow for additional customisation opportunities. The Skyscraper Grey metallic variant will be available for the BMW 1 Series, the BMW X2 and the BMW X3 from November 2021. Also new to the range are the BMW Individual paint finishes Frozen Pure Grey metallic for the BMW 1 Series and the BMW 2 Series Gran Coupé, as well as Aventurine Red metallic for the BMW X3 and the BMW X4.

My BMW App with extended range of functions.
Planning travel routes and transferring them to the car, receiving information about the car’ status and live images from its surroundings, arranging service appointments or receiving news from the brand - the My BMW app makes all this possible on the customer's smartphone. It serves as a universal interface for communication between car and customer, the BMW brand and the BMW dealer. The range of functions of the My BMW App will be expanded again in autumn 2021. In future, for example, the images transmitted by the Remote 3D View service will be stored in a gallery, including information about the location and time of the shots. The status of the vehicle's air conditioning and ventilation is now also clearly displayed in the My BMW app.

In addition, the My BMW app now also provides drivers with comprehensive information on the condition of the vehicle's tyres on their smartphone. This new feature helps to minimise the risk of breakdowns and is available for the BMW 1 Series, BMW 3 Series and BMW 4 Series models, the new BMW 2 Series Coupé, the BMW 2 Series Gran Coupé, the BMW Z4 as well as the BMW X5, BMW X6 and BMW X7. The My BMW app displays the wheel-specific values as measured by the tyre pressure system. In addition, the digital tyre diagnosis, which is unique in the competitive environment, can also transmit information about a defect or wear of the tyres via the My BMW app. In the BMW backend, the data from the tyre pressure control system is processed together with the values for temperature and wheel speeds to create a forecast of the remaining life of the tyres. As a supplement to tyre pressure control, indications of tyre damage are also registered.

Intelligent battery heat management for the BMW iX3.
To ensure the fastest and most efficient power feed at DC fast-charging stations, regardless of operating and outside temperatures, the BMW iX3 (combined power consumption: 19.0 - 18.6 L/100 km according to WLTP, 18.5 - 18.9 L/100 km according to NEDC) will be equipped with intelligent thermal management for the high-voltage battery as in the BMW i4 / BMW iX from November 2021. As soon as the active route guidance of the navigation system foresees a stopover at a High Power Charging Station, it already ensures that the battery is automatically preconditioned before arrival.

The appropriate heating or cooling ensures that the high-voltage battery is at the ideal temperature for charging at maximum power on arrival. The thermal management takes into account, among other things, the battery temperature, the remaining range, the predicted charging power and the planned scope of the charging process as part of the overall route calculation.

BMW i3 and BMW i3s in the Unique Forever Edition.
From November 2021, the BMW i3 models (combined electricity consumption: 16.3 - 15.3 L/100 km according to WLTP, 13.1 L/100 km according to NEDC and BMW i3s (combined electricity consumption: 16.6 - 16.3 L/100 km according to WLTP, 14.6 - 14.0 L/100 km according to NEDC) in the Unique Forever Edition. The naming of the new special edition refers to the unique character of the world's first premium automobile designed from the outset for purely electric mobility. The BMW i3 represents a holistic understanding of sustainability not only with its drive system, but also with its particularly lightweight passenger cell made of carbon fibre-reinforced plastic (CFRP) and extensive use of natural and recycled materials in its interior. Eight years after being launched on the market, it is still a globally recognised symbol of locally emission-free urban mobility.

The edition vehicles are characterised by particularly high-grade and exclusive design and equipment features. The two BMW Individual paint finishes, available for the first time for the BMW i3, ensure a stylish appearance. The Aventurine Red metallic variant is combined with an accent in Frozen Grey metallic and the Storm Bay metallic paint finish with an accent in Frozen E-Copper. The interior surfaces of the BMW grille are also finished in the respective accent colour. Other special features include the omission of the trim strip and model lettering on the luggage compartment lid and a black insert for the rear bumper. In the interior of the edition vehicles, the contents of the Suite equipment world - including the Vernasca Dark Truffle leather combination, the leather instrument panel, the fine wood surface in dark matt oak, the leather steering wheel, the Carum grey roof lining and the ambient lighting - are supplemented by specific design elements. The front headrests are embroidered with the words "Unique Forever", the door trim panels in the area of the exterior mirrors bear the inscription "One of 2,000“.

The Unique Forever Edition models are produced in a limited edition of 2,000 units at the BMW plant in Leipzig. Only electricity generated by the wind turbines on the factory premises is used.

• Premiere for the new BMW 4 Series Convertible. New benchmark for dynamic driving pleasure combined with the allure of exclusive open-air motoring in the premium midsize segment. A design conceived in the brand’s current styling language that radiates sporting elegance, a new type of roof design and performance that has stepped up significantly compared to its predecessor make the latest generation of the open-top four-seater a highly compelling proposition. The design, vehicle concept and driving dynamics provide greater differentiation from the BMW 3 Series Sedan than at any time in the 35 years that BMW convertibles have graced the midsize class. Worldwide launch will commence in March 2021.
• The range now peaks with an extremely sporty BMW M440i xDrive Convertible flagship model (fuel consumption combined:
  7.4 – 6.9 l/100 km [38.2 – 40.9 mpg imp]; CO₂ emissions combined:169 – 159 g/km) powered by a 275 kW/374 hp six-cylinder in-line petrol engine. The launch line-up also comprises two four-cylinder petrol units and a four-cylinder diesel, with two straight-six diesel engines set to follow later in 2021.
• Standalone body design has dynamically stretched proportions and a low-to-the-road silhouette. Expressive front end brings together tradition-rich and modern styling features. Prominent, upright BMW kidney grille references legendary sports cars from the brand’s past and signals the high cooling air requirement of the powertrain technology. • Newly developed panel bow softtop roof marries the strengths of a retractable hardtop and the puristic appeal of a fabric hood, thereby combining the best of both worlds. Its sleek surface gracefully arches over the passenger cell of the new BMW 4 Series Convertible. Roof is 40 per cent lighter than the predecessor car’s, acoustic and thermal comfort are far superior to those of a conventional design. • Eight-speed Steptronic transmission standard on all model variants for the first time. Munich. Increased efficiency through consistent electrification, optimised emissions and innovations in the areas of driver assistance and digital services are the focus of the model revision measures for numerous BMW model series that will take effect in autumn 2020. From November 2020, all models of the premium brand will meet the requirements of the currently strictest exhaust emission standard Euro 6d. In the BMW 5 Series, the range of plug-in hybrid models has been extended by three new variants. New inline 6-cylinder diesel engines and 48-volt mild hybrid technology lower fuel consumption and emissions of selected models in the BMW 3 Series and BMW 8 Series. In addition, further engines will supplement the drive portfolio of the BMW 1 Series and the BMW 2 Series Gran Coupé.

Efficiency becomes more diverse: World premiere for five plug-in hybrid models in the BMW 5 Series.
The range of BMW models with electrified drive systems will also be consistently expanded in autumn 2020. The expanded range of the following electrified models is especially attractive: BMW 545e xDrive Sedan (fuel consumption combined: 2.3 – 2.2 l/100 km; combined power consumption: 16.3 – 15.8 kWh/100 km; combined CO₂ emissions: 53 – 49 g/km; electric range: 47 – 57 km), BMW 530e Touring (combined fuel consumption: 2.0 – 1.8 l/100 km; combined power consumption: 16.1 – 15.4 kWh/100 km; combined CO₂ emissions: 46 – 42 g/km; electric range: 52 – 57 km (WLTP)) and BMW 530e xDrive Touring (combined fuel consumption: 2.4 – 2.2 l/100 km; combined power consumption: 16.7 – 16.1 kWh/100 km; combined CO₂ emissions: 54 – 50 g/km; electric range: 48 – 53 km (WLTP)). The BMW 5 Series model range now already includes five plug-in hybrid variants. In the upper mid-size class, BMW offers the largest selection of models with electrified drive.

In the new BMW 545e xDrive Sedan, an inline 6-cylinder petrol engine and an electric drive integrated into the 8-speed Steptronic transmission deliver impressive driving dynamics in a particularly efficient manner. The power of the two drive units adds up to a maximum system output of 290 kW/394 hp and is distributed between the front and rear wheels as required by the intelligent BMW xDrive all-wheel drive. The brand’s hallmark combination of energy efficiency and sportiness also characterises the new Touring models, whose plug-in hybrid system consists of a 4-cylinder petrol engine and an electric drive system also integrated into the 8-speed Steptronic transmission. Together they generate a system output of up to 215 kW/292 hp in the XtraBoost mode when load requirements are particularly high.

Increased dynamic performance and reduced fuel consumption: New inline 6-cylinder diesel engines with 48-volt mild hybrid technology in the BMW 3 Series and BMW 8 Series.
With the introduction of 48-volt mild hybrid technology in additional models, BMW continues to consistently reduce fuel consumption and emissions in its current vehicle fleet. This is linked to the introduction of a new generation of inline 6-cylinder diesel engines. As of autumn 2020, four mid-size models of the BMW 3 Series and three luxury sports cars of the BMW 8 Series will offer noticeably more dynamic performance and increased efficiency.

This twofold and BMW typical progress is achieved through further advanced BMW TwinPower Turbo technology and additionally with the aid of a particularly powerful starter generator and an additional battery. The dynamic power delivery when starting off and accelerating is enhanced by the additional power of 8 kW/11 hp spontaneously provided by the 48-volt starter generator. In other load ranges the electric drive can relieve the combustion engine and thus increase its efficiency. The power required for this is generated by intensive recuperation in braking and thrust phases and stored in a 48-volt battery, which also supplies the vehicle’s electrical system.

The 48-volt mild hybrid technology will be used in four further BMW 3 Series models from November 2020. In the new BMW 330d Sedan (combined fuel consumption: 4.7 – 4.4 l/100 km*; combined CO₂ emissions: 125 – 116 g/km*) and the new BMW 330d Xdrive Sedan (combined fuel consumption: 5.0 – 4.7 l/100 km*; combined CO₂ emissions: 132 – 123 g/km*) and the new BMW 330d Touring (combined fuel consumption: 4.8 – 4.5 l/100 km*; combined CO₂ emissions: 128 – 119 g/km*) and the new BMW 330d Xdrive Touring (combined fuel consumption: 5.2 – 4.8 l/100 km*; combined CO₂ emissions: 136 – 127 g/km), it supports the new inline 6-cylinder diesel engine, which already provides additional driving pleasure with its maximum output increased by 15 kW/21 hp to 210 kW/286 hp. Thanks to a two-stage turbocharging system and an advanced common rail injection system whose piezo injectors now inject the fuel with up to ten injections per working cycle and a maximum pressure of 2 700 bar into the combustion chambers, engine response and efficiency of the 3.0 litre engine are optimised. The new diesel engine generates its maximum torque, which has been increased by 30 to 650 Nm, between 1 500 and 2 500 rpm. The increased power of the combustion engine and the additional electrical power noticeably improve the car’s sprint capacity. For example, the new BMW 330d Sedan improves its acceleration from zero to 100 km/h by 0.2 seconds to now 5.3 seconds.

In the BMW 8 Series, 48-volt mild hybrid technology is combined with an equally new and even more powerful 3.0-litre diesel engine. The BMW 840d xDrive Coupé models (fuel consumption combined: 5.8 – 5.6 l/100 km*; combined CO₂ emissions: 154 - 146 g/km), BMW 840d xDrive Convertible (fuel consumption combined: 6.0 – 5.7 l/100 km*; combined CO₂ emissions: 159 – 151 g/km) and BMW 840d xDrive Gran Coupé (combined fuel consumption: 5.9 – 5.6 l/100 km*; combined CO₂ emissions: 155 - 148 g/km) will be powered by a 250 kW/340 hp inline 6-cylinder engine in the future. The 15 kW/20 hp increase in top-level output also results from further advanced BMW TwinPower Turbo technology. It now includes a multi-stage turbocharger with variable turbine geometry for the high-pressure and low-pressure stages. The maximum torque of 700 Nm is generated alreadybetween 1 750 and 2 250 rpm. In the luxury sports car model range, the new drive technology enables the BMW 840d xDrive Coupé, for example, to improve its acceleration figure from a standing start to 100 km/h by 0.1 seconds to 4.8 seconds. The optimised performance characteristics of the diesel engine are accompanied by precisely adapted fine tuning of the chassis and its control systems.

The new diesel engines for the BMW 3 Series and the BMW 8 Series also represent the latest state of the art with regard to emissions. They feature exhaust gas treatment technology, whose engine-proximate components consist of a diesel oxidation catalytic converter and an SCR coating on the diesel particulate filter. In order to optimally reduce nitrogen oxide (NOX) emissions, a second metering unit is additionally integrated at the outlet of the engine-proximate SCR system.

BMW 1 Series, BMW 2 Series Gran Coupé: Additional engines and new optional extras.
New engines will be available from November 2020 for the BMW 1 Series and the BMW 2 Series Gran Coupé. The new BMW 116i (combined fuel consumption: 5.8 – 5.4 l/100 km*; combined CO₂ emissions: 133 – 124 g/km) is powered by a 3-cylinder petrol engine with an output of 80 kW/109 hp and a maximum torque of 190 Nm. It is equipped as standard with a manual 6-speed transmission and accelerates from zero to 100 km/h in 10.6 seconds. A 7-speed Steptronic transmission with double clutch is optionally available. In addition, the model range will be expanded to include the new BMW 120i (fuel consumption combined: 5.8 – 5.5 l/100 km*; combined CO₂ emissions: 134 – 126 g/km). Its 4-cylinder petrol engine generates a maximum output of 131 kW/178 hp and a maximum torque of 280 Nm and is combined as standard with a 7-speed Steptronic transmission with double clutch. The new BMW 120i accelerates from a standing start to 100 km/h in 7.0 seconds.

Outstanding economy is the hallmark of the new entry-level diesel engine for the BMW 2 Series Gran Coupé. The 3-cylinder diesel engine of the new BMW 216d Gran Coupé (fuel consumption combined: 4.1 – 3.8 l/100 km*; combined CO₂ emissions: 108 – 99 g/km) provides a maximum output of 85 kW/116 hp and a maximum torque of 270 Nm. It transmits its power to a 7-speed Steptronic transmission with double clutch as standard and enables acceleration from zero to 100 km/h in 10.3 seconds.

The range of optional equipment for the BMW 1 Series and the BMW 2 Series Gran Coupé is supplemented by the BMW Individual Shadow Line lights. With the black inserts at the upper edge of the headlamps they make the front view even more powerfully expressive.

Urban Cruise Control: Increased comfort and optimised safety when driving in urban traffic.
The increased level of comfort and safety achieved through combined speed and distance control will also be available in numerous current BMW models when driving in city traffic from autumn 2020 onwards. In conjunction with the optional Driving Assistant Professional, the Urban Cruise Control function is available in the BMW 3 Series and BMW 5 Series, the BMW 6 Series Gran Turismo, the BMW 8 Series and the BMW X5, BMW X6, BMW X7, BMW M5, BMW M8, BMW X5 M and BMW X6 M model series. It extends the range of functions of the Active Cruise Control with Stop & Go function by a traffic light recognition function. In addition to vehicles and traffic signs ahead, traffic lights registered by the stereo camera are also taken into account.

In the case of traffic light signals that are clearly related to the lane you are travelling, these are automatically registered by the speed and distance control system. If the traffic light is red, the system decelerates the vehicle to a standstill. A green light signals the continuation of the journey. In a more complex intersection situation where, for example, different light signals apply to different lanes, a traffic light symbol is displayed in the instrument cluster. The driver can then confirm the light signal shown there and continue to use the automatic speed and distance control or control the speed himself. For additional comfort in city traffic there is a drive reminder function. While stationary at a traffic light, the current traffic light phase is displayed in the instrument cluster; at the beginning of the green phase, the driver also receives a signal to start driving.

The Urban Cruise Control function can also be integrated into the car at a later date by means of a Remote Software Upgrade. With the exception of the BMW 8 Series models, this option is available for vehicles of all the above-mentioned series produced from July 2020 onwards and which are equipped with the Driving Assistant Professional.

New digital services for more driving pleasure: BMW News, BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant with new functions, personal profile picture and simple log-in.
The latest generation of the display and control system makes it possible to use new digital services in numerous current BMW models. The BMW Operating System 7, which is available in conjunction with BMW Live Cockpit, BMW Live Cockpit Plus or BMW Live Cockpit Professional, allows the driver to customise what is displayed to a very high degree. From November 2020, audio content will also be tailored to the driver’s wishes and needs with BMW News. Based on the driver’s individual interests, current online news is selected from publisher offerings and broadcast in the form of naturally spoken language via the vehicle's audio system.

The BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant is one of the particularly innovative services that features in current models with BMW Operating System 7. The digital companion, which enables intuitive operation of numerous vehicle functions via voice control (“Hey, BMW”), is constantly gaining new capabilities. From autumn 2020, the operating modes MAX eDrive and AUTO eDrive or ELECTRIC and HYBRID can also be activated in the appropriately equipped plug-in hybrid models by means of a naturally spoken instruction.

Optimised options for creating a driver profile allow further customisation opportunities. From November 2020, the driver can no longer only login by entering the BMW ID manually, but also via the My BMW App as well, making the process very convenient. A QR code generated for this purpose can be displayed on the Control Display, which can be scanned using a smartphone. The personal driver profile data can then be transferred to the vehicle. Also new: The driver can add a photo of his choice to his individual profile.

BMW X1 and BMW X2: New headlamp variants and BMW Individual High Gloss Shadow Line with extended features.
Adaptive LED headlights will be available for the compact BMW X2 Sports Activity Coupé from November 2020. They optimise visibility when driving at night, among other things by means of a high beam matrix function. This feature is able to increase the range of vision while at the same time avoiding any dazzle effect on other road users. To achieve this, the high beam is divided into several LED segments that can be activated and deactivated independently of each other to adapt how the road is illuminated to the respective traffic situation.

In addition, the striking BMW Individual Shadow Line lights are available as a new option for the BMW X2 and the BMW X1. The sporty appearance of the BMW X2 can be further enhanced by the BMW Individual High Gloss Shadow Line with extended features. In addition to the high-gloss black side window surrounds, this option includes a black frame for the BMW kidney grille and tailpipe trims in chrome black.

New paint finishes allow for expressive individualisation.
New additions to the range of paint finishes for numerous models will be introduced in autumn 2020 allowing for even greater levels of individualisation. The new San Remo Green metallic paint finish will also be available for the new BMW 4 Series Coupé in future. For the BMW X5, BMW X6 and BMW X7, the colours Dravit Grey metallic and Sparkling Brown metallic have been added to the range. In addition, the BMW Individual special paintwork finishes Grigio Telesto metallic, Urban Green metallic, Frozen Black metallic, Petrol Mica metallic, Ruby Red metallic, Avus Blue metallic and British Racing Green metallic are also available for the large BMW X models. 

For the BMW i3 (combined fuel consumption: 0.0 l/100 km; combined power consumption: 13.1 kWh/100 km; combined CO₂ emissions: 0 g/km) and BMW i3s (combined fuel consumption: 0.0 l/100 km; combined power consumption: 14.6 – 14.0 kWh/100 km; combined CO₂ emissions: 0 g/km) new paint finishes will also be available from November 2020. The purely electrically driven models will be available with paint finishes in Cashmere Silver with accents in BMW i Blue and Galvanic Gold with accents in Frozen Grey metallic and Fluid Black with accents in Frozen Grey metallic.

CO2 EMISSIONS & CONSUMPTION.

Munich. From the spring of 2020, BMW will contribute towards a further reduction of consumption levels and the optimisation of the emission performance of current models through the use of systematically evolved drive technology. In parallel with the expansion of the range of models featuring all-electric and plug-in hybrid drive scheduled to follow during the course of the year, both the efficiency and the exhaust emission quality of petrol-driven vehicles will be significantly increased.  This is ensured, inter alia, by innovative mild hybrid technology which, following the BMW 5 Series, will as from March/April also be deployed in the BMW 3 Series as well as the model series BMW X3 and BMW X4. At the same time, in the spring of 2020, 33 further BMW models will already comply with the Euro 6d emission standard, which will not become obligatory until 2021. 

A further drive variant for the BMW 1 Series as well as additional engines for the BMW 3 Series Sedan and the BMW 3 Series Touring will enhance the diversity of available options in the premium compact and premium midrange segment. Additional options for interior design provide for greater individuality in the BMW X5, the BMW X6 and the BMW X7.

Electric pulling power for efficiency and dynamics: Mild hybrid technology with 48-volt starter generator for further models.  

BMW is extending the use of mild hybrid technology to further models. This innovation, first introduced in the autumn of 2019 forthe four model variants of the BMW 520d (combined fuel consumption: 4.9 – 4.1 l/100 km; combined CO2 emissions: 128 – 108 g/km), comprises an extremely powerful 48-volt starter generator as well as an additional battery, and enhances both efficiency and dynamics of vehicles equipped with this technology. As from the spring of 2020, mild hybrid technology will also be featured as standard in the models BMW 320d Sedan (automatic transmission) (combined fuel consumption: 4.1 – 4.0 l/100 km; combined CO2 emissions: 107 – 105 g/km), the BMW 320d Touring (combined fuel consumption: 4.3 – 4.2 l/100 km; combined CO2 emissions: 112 – 109 g/km), the BMW 320d xDrive Sedan (combined fuel consumption: 4.4 – 4.3 l/100 km; combined CO2 emissions: 117 – 114 g/km), the BMW 320d xDrive Touring (combined fuel consumption: 4.5 – 4.5 l/100 km; combined CO2 emissions: 119 – 117 g/km), the BMW X3 xDrive20d (combined fuel consumption: 5.1 – 4.8 l/100 km; combined CO2 emissions: 134 – 126 g/km) and the BMW X4 xDrive20d (combined fuel consumption: 5.1 – 4.8 l/100 km; combined CO2 emissions: 133 – 125 g/km).

Mild hybrid technology provides significantly greater possibilities to make use of brake energy recuperation. The energy recuperated when accelerating and braking is not only used to provide electrically powered vehicle functions with energy but also to generate additional drive power. The 48-volt starter generator delivers an additional power output of up to 8 kW/11 hp. The electric over-boost is made available very spontaneously, thus enhancing dynamics when starting off and accelerating from a standstill.  During the journey, the electric over-boost can be used to support the combustion engine, enabling it to run as frequently as possible within an efficiency-optimised load range and to reduce consumption peaks. Moreover, when driving within inefficient operational ranges, it is possible to supply the 48-volt battery with additional energy from the starter generator by raising the load point when required.  

Furthermore, the 48-volt starter generator provides for exceptionally smooth switching off as well as a faster and thus more comfortable re-starting of the combustion engine when the Auto Start Stop function is used at road junctions or in traffic jams. When the vehicle decelerates, the combustion engine can be disconnected at a speed of less than 15 km/h. The kinetic energy gained when decelerating further to a standstill is then used for recuperation. The efficiencyenhancing effect of the “coasting” function has also been optimised. At a speed of up to 160 km/h, the combustion engine is no longer switched into idle mode but is completely disconnected. During the journey, engine re-start is also fast and comfortable. The optimised “coasting” function is available both in the COMFORT and ECOPRO modes of the Driving Experience Switch.

Optimised emission performance: 40 BMW models now already fulfil the future Euro 6d emission standard.

With yet a further optimisation of the emission performance of numerous models, BMW is preparing well in advance for future legal requirements governing exhaust emissions. As from the spring of 2020, 33 further models from various model series will fulfil the Euro 6d exhaust emission standard. Consequently, 40 BMW models comply with the demands specified by the more stringent standard a year prior to the new emission regulation coming into force. 

The vehicles that will already comply with the Euro 6d emission standard as from the spring of 2020 include model variants of the BMW 1 Series, BMW 2 Series and BMW 3 Series as well as the BMW X1, BMW X2, BMW X3, BMW X4, BMW X5 and the BMW X6.

New drive variants for the BMW 1 Series, the BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe, the BMW 3 Series Sedan and the BMW 3 Series Touring. Starting in March 2020, additional drive variants will increase the diversity of the BMW 1 Series and BMW 3 Series model range. The BMW 120d (combined fuel consumption: 4.6 – 4.3 l/100 km; combined CO2 emissions: 121 – 112 g/km) will be added to the model range in the premium compact segment. The power generated by the car’s 2-litre, 140 kW/190 hp four-cylinder diesel power unit featuring BMW TwinPower Turbo Technology is transferred to the front wheels via a standard 8-speed Steptronic transmission, allowing the new BMW 120d to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.3 seconds and to reach a top speed of 231 km/h. The new BMW 120d is one of the models that already fulfil the Euro 6d emission standard. 

The engines of the BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe will be expanded with a 216d diesel engine.

A new four-cylinder petrol engine with a displacement of 2 litres and BMW TwinPower Turbo Technology complements the drive portfolio for the new BMW 3 Series. Next to to that an 316d diesel engine will be added for the BMW 3 Series Sedan. The power unit for the new BMW 318i Sedan (combined fuel consumption: 5.7 – 5.3 l/100 km; combined CO2 emissions: 130 – 120 g/km) and the new BMW 318i Touring (combined fuel consumption: 6.2 – 5.7 l/100 km; combined CO2 emissions: 140 – 130 g/km) delivers a maximum power output of 115 kW/156 hp and a peak torque of 250 Nm. The standard equipment range for the new BMW 3 Series entry model includes an 8-speed Steptronic transmission. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/ is 8.4 seconds for the Sedan and 8.7 seconds for the Touring model. Top speed is 223 km/h (BMW 318i Sedan) and 220 km/h (BMW 318i Touring) respectively.

BMW 7 Series and BMW 8 Series with extended standard configuration, additional offer of leather options and interior trims for the BMW X5, the BMW X6 and the BMW X7.

From March 2020, a broader range of standard features will enhance comfort in the luxury-class models of the BMW 7 Series and the BMW 8 Series. In future, BMW 7 Series luxury sedans, BMW 8 Series luxury sports cars as well as the high-performance models BMW M8 Competition Coupe (combined fuel consumption: 10.6 l/100 km; combined CO2 emissions: 242 g/km), BMW M8 Competition Convertible (combined fuel consumption: 10.8 l/100 km; combined CO2 emissions: 246 g/km) and BMW M8 Competition Gran Coupe (combined fuel consumption: 10.7 l/100 km; combined CO2 emissions: 244 g/km) will be equipped with an automatic soft-close function for the doors.

Thanks to a wider selection of leather options and interior trims, there are now new possibilities to individualise the models BMW X5, BMW X6 and BMW X7. As from April, the leather trim perforated Vernasca in the colour combination Canberra Beige/Black is additionally available for these three models. In future, the BMW X6 can be ordered with the leather trim perforated Vernasca in the colour Cognac/Black. Likewise available for the Sports Activity Coupe are the extended BMW Individual leather options Merino in the colour combinations Tartufo/Black, Ivory White/Black and Ivory White/Night Blue/Black as well as the BMW Individual all-leather interior trim Merino in the colour combinations Coffee/Black and Tartufo/Black. Also new in the range of options for the BMW X6: High-grade Poplar Grain, Anthracite-Brown, open-pored.

Fuel consumption, CO2 emission figures and power consumption were measured using the methods required according to Regulation (EC) 2007/715 as amended. The figures are calculated using a vehicle fitted with basic equipment in Germany, the ranges stated take into account differences in selected wheel and tyre sizes as well as the optional equipment. They may change during configuration.

The figures have already been calculated based on the new WLTP test cycle and adapted to NEDC for comparison purposes. In these vehicles, different figures than those published here may apply for the assessment of taxes and other vehicle-related duties which are (also) based on CO2 emissions.

BMW will introduce a wave of enticing additions to standard specification and broaden the array of options available ex-factory in spring 2019, delivering a further boost to driving pleasure and individuality in many of its model ranges. New design features, exterior paint finishes and light-alloy wheels enhance the sporting appearance of the BMW 2 Series Coupe, BMW 2 Series Convertible, BMW 3 Series Gran Turismo, BMW 4 Series, BMW M4 Coupe (fuel consumption combined: 10.0 – 9.9 l/100 km [28.3 – 28.5 mpg imp]; CO2 emissions combined: 227 – 225 g/km) and BMW M4 Convertible (fuel consumption combined: 10.2 – 10.1 l/100 km [27.7 – 28.0 mpg imp]; CO2 emissions combined: 232 – 230 g/km). Joining the equipment offering for the BMW 5 Series Sedan and BMW 5 Series Touring, meanwhile, is a BMW Individual Composition with M Sport features.

The spread of BMW X1 and BMW X2 model variants presented to customers has also been further expanded, and their exhaust gas treatment systems will now include a gasoline particulate filter. Spring 2019 will see the arrival of the BMW X2 M35i (fuel consumption combined: 7.1 – 6.9 l/100 km [39.8 – 40.9 mpg imp]; CO2 emissions combined: 161 – 158 g/km) as the flagship model in the compact Sports Activity Coupe’s line-up. And just a few months on from the market launch of the new BMW 8 Series Coupe and new BMW X5, the selection of exterior paint finishes and leather appointments for the luxury sports car and Sports Activity Vehicle will grow to include additional variants.

BMW 2 Series Coupe, BMW 2 Series Convertible, BMW 3 Series Gran Turismo: fresh touches enhance sportiness and elegance.
Among the refreshing flourishes enriching the visual sportiness and elegance of the BMW 2 Series Coupe and BMW 2 Series Convertible are darkened rear lights, which will become part of standard specification in March 2019. The high-performance BMW M2 Competition (fuel consumption combined: 10.0 – 9.8 l/100 km [28.3 – 28.8 mpg imp]; CO2 emissions combined: 227 – 224 g/km) will likewise come with darkened rear lights as standard. BMW 2 Series Coupe and BMW 2 Series Convertible customers ordering their car in Sport Line specification will find additional bi-colour 17- and 18-inch light-alloy wheels on the options list.

18-inch M light-alloy wheels in twin-spoke design, painted in matt Cerium Grey and with mixed-size tyres, will be offered as a new option for the BMW M240i Coupe (fuel consumption combined: 7.4 – 7.3 l/100 km [38.2 – 38.7 mpg imp]; CO2 emissions combined: 168 – 167 g/km), BMW M240i xDrive Coupe (fuel consumption combined: 8.0 – 7.8 l/100 km [35.3 – 36.2 mpg imp]; CO2 emissions combined: 181 – 178 g/km), BMW M240i Convertible (fuel consumption combined: 7.6 – 7.6 l/100 km [37.2 – 37.2 mpg imp]; CO2 emissions combined: 173 – 172 g/km) and BMW M240i xDrive Convertible (fuel consumption combined: 8.4 – 8.3 l/100 km [33.6 – 34.0 mpg imp]; CO2 emissions combined: 191 – 188 g/km). The palette of exterior paint finishes for the particularly sporty six-cylinder BMW 2 Series models now also includes the new Long Beach Blue metallic variant, while the optional interior trim strips in smooth matt Carbon Fibre heighten the cabin’s sporting allure.

All Sport Line model and M Sport model variants of the BMW 2 Series Coupe and BMW 2 Series Convertible come with a black kidney grille surround. And new to the options list for the interior is Dakota leather trim with exclusive stitching.

Dark rear lights will also be included in the standard specification for the BMW 3 Series Gran Turismo from March 2019. Cars with the optional Adaptive LED Headlights also have black inserts for the headlight units, which the M Sport model will complement with a BMW kidney grille, exhaust tailpipe embellishers and exterior mirror caps (optional) in High-gloss Black. Added to which, Jet Black 18-inch M light-alloy wheels in star-spoke design and 19-inch M light-alloy wheels in twin-spoke design with Jet Black polished finish and mixed-size tyres are available for M Sport models as a new and exclusive option. In addition, the exterior colour shade Mineral White metallic can be specified for M Sport cars.

BMW 4 Series, BMW M4 Coupe, BMW M4 Convertible: new paint finishes, light-alloy wheels and leather appointments.
The BMW 4 Series will present an even more alluring proposition from March 2019 thanks to new individualisation options. For example, the stylish elegance of the BMW 4 Series Gran Coupe will be showcased to particularly stunning effect by the BMW Individual paint finish Aventurine Red metallic and BMW Individual special paint finish Frozen Dark Grey metallic. The selection of colours available for the BMW 4 Series Coupe and BMW 4 Series Convertible now also includes Mediterranean Blue metallic. Newcomers to the range of optional equipment available for all BMW 4 Series models are 18-inch light-alloy wheels in twin-spoke design and the bi-colour paint variant Orbit Grey, plus 19-inch M light-alloy wheels in twin-spoke design and bi-colour Jet Black with mixed-size tyres.

The interior also contains some new and distinctive touches in the form of the Mocha colour shade for the optional Dakota leather trim on Sport Line, Luxury Line and M Sport cars and interior trim strips in Carbon Fibre, which are available in conjunction with M Sport specification. The M Sport and Sport Line variants of the BMW 4 Series will now be fitted with black rear light screens and a BMW kidney grille surround in High-gloss Black as standard.

Darkened rear lights are also set to adorn the rear of the BMW M4 Coupe and BMW M4 Convertible. The BMW Individual paint finish Frozen Dark Blue II will be offered as an option for the two high-performance models from March 2019. Plus, the BMW M4 Coupe with M Competition package can be ordered with two new bi-colour leather trim options. BMW Individual fine-grain Merino full leather trim is available in the Sakhir Orange/Black and Silverstone/ Black combinations.

Exclusive dynamics: new M Sport Individual equipment line for the BMW 4 Series.
A new and highly desirable addition to the selection of equipment lines available from March 2019 for the BMW 4 Series Coupe, BMW 4 Series Convertible and BMW 4 Series Gran Coupe is the M Sport Individual model. Here, signature M features designed to fuel dynamic driving pleasure team up with suitably exclusive options from BMW Individual. The new equipment line includes the BMW Individual paint finish Tanzanite Blue metallic, an M Aerodynamics package, BMW Individual High-gloss Shadow Line, 19-inch BMW Individual light-alloy wheels in V-spoke design with mixed-size tyres, and variable sport steering. Rear-wheel-drive models also get M Sport suspension.

Among the features engendering a sporty and luxurious ambience in the interior are sports seats for the driver and front passenger, BMW Individual extended leather upholstery Merino in Opal White, heated seats, an M leather steering wheel, the lighting package and BMW Individual interior trim strips in Piano Finish Black. The BMW 4 Series Coupe and BMW 4 Series Gran Coupe add a BMW Individual headliner in Anthracite. Customers can also choose from a wide range of options when it comes to exterior paint finishes, light-alloy wheels, leather upholstery and interior trim strips.

BMW 5 Series range: BMW Individual Composition with M Sport features.
A neatly blended selection of super-exclusive design and equipment features distinguishes the BMW Individual Composition with M Sport features available for the BMW 5 Series Sedan and BMW 5 Series Touring from March 2019. The new option includes BMW Individual paintwork in Azurite Black metallic, Carbon Black metallic, Champagne Quartz metallic, Almandine Brown metallic or Rhodonite Silver metallic, 20-inch BMW Individual light-alloy wheels, BMW Individual extended leather upholstery Merino in Tartufo, Caramel or Smoke White, comfort seats with active seat ventilation, a leather-covered BMW Individual instrument panel, a BMW Individual headliner in Anthracite and BMW Individual interior trim strips.

The exquisite options for the exterior and interior team up with an M Aerodynamics package, M Sport suspension, M Sport braking system, an M leather steering wheel, illuminated M door sill plates, BMW Individual High-gloss Shadow Line trim and kidney grille bars in High-gloss Black. This equipment package also brings LED front foglamps, trapezoidal exhaust tailpipe embellishers in chrome and optional ambient lighting.

BMW 8 Series Coupe now available with a richer variety of paint finishes and leather appointments.
The show-stopping design and luxurious interior ambience of the new BMW 8 Series Coupe can be tailored even more precisely to the owner’s personal style from spring 2019 thanks to a wider array of exterior paint finishes and leather appointments. The spectrum of body colours available has expanded to include the BMW Individual paint finishes Aventurine Red metallic and Tanzanite Blue metallic and the BMW Individual special paint finishes Brilliant White metallic, Frozen Dark Brown metallic, Frozen Arctic Grey metallic, Frozen Cashmere Silver metallic, Frozen Dark Silver metallic, Frozen Brilliant White metallic and Pure Metal Silver metallic.

Meanwhile, BMW Individual fine-grain Merino full leather trim will appeal to those looking to lend a particularly exclusive feel to the design of their car’s interior. It can be ordered in Black, Ivory White and Cognac, as well as the Fiona Red/Black, Tartufo/Black, Ivory White/Tartufo and Midnight Blue/Black combinations. Also new to the options list are BMW Individual fine wood interior trim strips in Black Ash Silver Effect high-gloss.

BMW X5: new exterior colours and leather appointments.
The range of body colour shades and leather appointments for the new BMW X5 will also be further expanded in spring 2019. The Sports Activity Vehicle will now be available with the exterior paint finishes Sophisto Grey Brilliant Effect metallic and Terra Brown metallic and BMW Individual paint finishes Ruby Black metallic, Pyrite Brown metallic, Ametrine metallic and Tanzanite Blue metallic.

A selection of additional options will help customers bring a personalised flavour to the interior of the new BMW X5. New arrivals include BMW Individual extended leather upholstery Merino in Ivory White/Midnight Blue combination and BMW Individual fine-grain Merino full leather trim in Black, Ivory White, Tartufo, Coffee and Ivory White/Midnight Blue. And from April 2019, BMW Individual interior trim strips in Fineline Black fine wood with aluminium inlays will also be available as an option.

Sales get underway of the BMW X2 M35i; BMW X1 xDrive20i, BMW X2 xDrive20i and BMW X1 xDrive25i now with gasoline particulate filter.
The BMW X2 will welcome a new top-of-the-line model variant in spring 2019. The market launch des BMW X2 M35i sees the extrovert design of the compact Sports Activity Coupes link up with an extremely powerful four-cylinder petrol engine. The new 2.0-litre unit with M TwinPower Turbo technology generates maximum output of 225 kW/306 hp and peak torque of 450 Nm (332 lb-ft), and accelerates the BMW X2 M35i from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 5.0 seconds. Power transfer is via an eight-speed Steptronic Sport transmission and BMW xDrive intelligent all-wheel drive. An M Sport braking system and mechanical M Sport differential at the front axle also play their part in endowing the flagship X2 with its standout sporting prowess.

More petrol variants of the BMW X1 and BMW X2 will boast further reduced emissions from March 2019. The BMW X1 xDrive20i (fuel consumption combined: 6.7 l/100 km [42.2 mpg imp]; CO2 emissions combined: 152 g/km), BMW X2 xDrive20i (fuel consumption combined: 6.7 – 6.5 l/100 km [42.2 – 43.5 mpg imp]; CO2 emissions combined: 152 – 147 g/km) and BMW X1 xDrive25i (fuel consumption combined: 6.8 l/100 km [41.5 mpg imp]; CO2 emissions combined: 155 g/km) will now be fitted with a gasoline particulate filter to cut levels of particulate emissions.

Munich. Numerous new features in the area of drive technology enhance driving fun as well as reducing emissions in the current MINI models as of summer 2018. Emission control in all petrol-engine variants of the MINI 3 door, MINI 5 door and MINI Convertible as well as the MINI Clubman and MINI Countryman will include a particulate filter as of July 2018. The models of the British premium brand with this feature meet the particularly rigorous requirements of the Euro 6d-TEMP emission standard. This demonstrates how MINI consistently continues to pursue the optimisation of emissions in its current models. The diesel engine variants of the MINI Clubman and MINI Countryman have met the Euro 6d-TEMP standard since March 2018. Their emission control system includes not just a diesel particulate filter and an NO_X storage catalytic converter but also an SCR catalytic converter which features a special urea injection (AdBlue) for highly effective reduction of nitrogen oxide emissions.

In addition, the relevant model variants of the MINI Clubman and MINI Countryman will be fitted with enhanced petrol engines as of July 2018. Here, optimised MINI TwinPower Turbo Technology especially benefits fuel consumption and emission levels. As an alternative to the standard manual transmission, the petrol engine models of the MINI Clubman and MINI Countryman will be available with a 7-speed Steptronic transmission in future.

Thrilling shift dynamics, a high level of comfort, optimised convenience:
7-speed Steptronic transmission with double clutch.
Fast gear changes and a high level of internal efficiency are the properties of the 7-speed Steptronic transmission with double clutch available as an option for further variants of the successful MINI models in the premium compact segment from July 2018 onwards. The use of two clutches when changing gear enables particularly sporty acceleration without torque interrupt. In addition to enhanced driving fun, the design principle adapted from motor racing also has all the comfort features of an automatic transmission. It ensures harmonious and acoustically barely perceptible changes in drive position, free of load change reactions in the engine – not just when sprinting but also when decelerating. The 7-speed Steptronic transmission with double clutch also enables use of the auto start/stop function and the coasting function to increase efficiency. Furthermore, the transmission control is networked with the navigation system if the vehicle is fitted with one. In this way, navigation data can be used to adapt the choice of gear perfectly to the route. Operation of the 7-speed Steptronic transmission with double clutch is by means of an electronic gear selector switch. This transmits the driver's instructions by means of electrical impulses to the transmission control.

From July 2018 onwards, the 7-speed Steptronic transmission with double clutch is also available as an option in combination with the enhanced petrol engines for the MINI Clubman and the MINI Countryman. The efficiency-optimised petrol engines fitted as standard with a particulate filter meet the requirements of the Euro 6d-TEMP emission standard. With the 7-speed Steptronic transmission, the combined fuel consumption figure for the MINI One Clubman and the MINI Cooper Clubman is now 5.7 litres per 100 kilometres in each case (CO₂ level: 130 g/km). The figures for the MINI Cooper S Clubman are 5.8 litres per 100 kilometres and 133 g/km. The combined fuel consumption and the CO₂ emissions level of the MINI One Countryman with 7-speed Steptronic transmission are 5.9 litres per 100 kilometres and 135 – 134 g/km. For the MINI Cooper Countryman the figures are 5.9 to 5.8 litres per 100 kilometres and 134 – 132 g/km). The corresponding figures measured in the MINI Cooper S Countryman are 6.0 litres and 138 – 136 g/km (figures depend on the tyre format selected). All fuel consumption and emissions figures were arrived at using the new WLTP measuring procedure and then adapted to NEDC for comparison purposes by means of correlation.

Even faster gear changes are enabled by the 7-speed Steptronic sports transmission, available as an additional option for the MINI Cooper S Clubman and the MINI Cooper S Countryman. Shift paddles are available at the steering wheel in this version of the automatic transmission for manual intervention in the choice of drive position.


As standard in the MINI Clubman and the MINI Countryman: automatic driving lights control.
An addition to the standard range of fittings for the MINI Clubman and the MINI Countryman from summer 2018 serves to enhance both comfort and safety. In future, the two MINI models in the premium compact segment will be fitted with automatic driving lights control as standard. This function ensures needs-oriented activation and deactivation of the headlights and rear lights depending on the light conditions in the environment of the vehicle. For this purpose, the driving light switch in both models can be turned to an additional position from July 2018: it is marked by a graphic symbol containing the letter "A". When using the automatic driving lights system, the lights are not only activated at night but also when dusk is falling and when visibility is poor due to the weather conditions, as well as when passing through tunnels or in dark multi-storey car parks.

Helder en niet-verblindend: adaptieve LED-koplampen met Matrix-functie.

De nieuwe koplampen maken het vooraanzicht van de MINI 3-deurs, de MINI 5-deurs en de MINI Cabrio nog krachtiger. De standaard halogeenkoplampen zijn nu voorzien van een opvallend zwart accent. De optionele LED-koplampen zijn nieuw vormgegeven. De hoogwaardige LED-techniek zorgt voor helderder licht bij zowel dim- als grootlicht. De LED-dagrijverlichting en de richtingaanwijzer vormen een ring rond de koplamp. De eveneens optionele adaptieve LED-koplampen passen hun helderheid automatisch aan de situatie aan. Bij zeer slecht zicht is gedimde bochtverlichting bij in te schakelen voor beter zicht op de berm.

Het grotere bereik van het dimlicht zorgt op de snelweg voor optimale verlichting.

De adaptieve LED-koplampen zijn nu ook voorzien van een automatische dimfunctie voor grootlicht. De innovatieve Matrix-technologie voor grootlicht verbetert het zicht terwijl het verblinding van medeweggebruikers voorkomt. De koplampen zijn in vier horizontale segmenten verdeeld. Die worden – afhankelijk van de verkeerssituatie – onafhankelijk van elkaar in- en uitgeschakeld bij snelheden boven de 70 km/uur. Zodra de frontcamera van de MINI ander verkeer detecteert, wordt dat deel van de weg op dimlichtsterkte verlicht: de segmenten van de grootlicht-matrix die dat deel van de weg zouden verlichten, worden dan automatisch gedeactiveerd.

‘Very British’: achterlichten in Union Jack-design.

De achterlichtunits zijn in combinatie met de (adaptieve) LED-koplampen eveneens voorzien van een nieuw design. Het Union Jack-design is een verwijzing naar de oorsprong van het merk. De functies van de lichtunit zijn gerangschikt in de vorm van de Britse vlag: de richtingaanwijzer is horizontaal geplaatst, het remlicht verticaal en het achterlicht wordt gevormd door de diagonale lijnen in de vlag. Alle elementen van de achterlichtunits zijn LED’s.

Nieuw MINI logo.

Het nieuwe, authentiek vormgegeven MINI-logo is aangebracht op de motorkap, de achterklep, het stuurwiel, het centrale instrumentendisplay en op de afstandsbediening van de MINI 3-deurs, de MINI 5-deurs en de MINI Cabrio. Het logo is nu tweedimensionaal, dus volledig vlak: een verwijzing naar MINI’s focus op de essentie.

Drie nieuwe kleuren, nieuwe omlijstingskleur Piano Black en nieuwe wielen.

Er zijn drie nieuwe carrosseriekleuren voor de MINI 3-deurs, de MINI 5-deurs en de MINI Cabrio leverbaar: Emerald Grey metallic, Starlight Blue metallic en Solaris Orange metallic. Met de nieuwe optie Piano Black Exterior is de omlijsting van koplampen, achterlichten en grille uitgevoerd in hoogglanzend zwart in plaats van chroom. De keuze uit optionele lichtmetalen wielen is ook verder uitgebreid. De tweekleurige 17-inchdesigns Roulette Spoke en Propeller Spoke zijn voor alle versies leverbaar. Het eveneens tweekleurige 17-inchdesign Rail Spoke is nieuw in het gamma.

Nieuwe lederen bekleding, interieurafwerking en Colour Lines.

Met de brede keuze van stoelbekleding, interieurafwerking en Colour Lines is ook het interieur aan te passen aan de smaak van de eigenaar. Nieuw voor de MINI 3-deurs en de MINI 5-deurs is de Chester-lederen bekleding in de kleur Malt Brown en de Colour Line Malt Brown. Verder is de optionele MINI Yours Interior Style Piano Black nu ook met verlichting leverbaar. Behalve de oppervlakken in de portieren en de middenconsole is ook de strip op het dashboard aan de passagierszijde van achter verlicht. De strip is niet alleen in Piano Black uitgevoerd, maar ook voorzien van het Union Jack-motief. De kleur van de verlichting past bij de door de bestuurder gekozen sfeerverlichting als onderdeel van het MINI Excitement Package.

Maximale personaliseringsopties.

Het MINI Yours Customised-programma brengt personaliseren naar een ongekend niveau. De accessoires kunnen door klanten van hun eigen design worden voorzien. Die worden dan precies volgens de specificaties van de klant vervaardigd. Het gamma van MINI Yours Customised omvat de omlijsting van de knipperlichten opzij, decoratieve interieurpanelen aan de passagierszijde, dorpelstrips met LED-verlichting en LED-projectors in het portier.

De klant kan MINI Yours Customised-producten kiezen, ontwerpen en bestellen via de speciale online-shop. Er is keuze uit diverse kleuren, patronen, oppervlaktestructuren en afbeeldingen. Ook kan de klant zelf tekst en elementen toevoegen. De producten worden met innovatieve productiemethoden als 3D-print en lasergravure vervaardigd.

Aandrijving: meer rijplezier, minder verbruik en minder gewicht.

De motoren voor de MINI 3-deurs, MINI 5-deurs en MINI Cabrio zijn minutieus onder handen genomen. Dat zorgt niet alleen voor nog meer rijplezier, maar ook voor een tot wel 5 procent lagere brandstofconsumptie en CO2-emissie. Daarmee voldoen de motoren al aan de emissie-eisen van de toekomst. Alle leverbare motoren – ook de basismotor – zijn doorontwikkeld op het gebied van de MINI TwinPower Turbo Technology, de motorelektronica, de smering, de toevoer van inlaatlucht, het koel- en het uitlaatsysteem. Bovendien is op gewicht bespaard door toepassing van met koolstofvezel versterkt plastic voor de afdekking van de motoren. Het materiaal is afkomstig van de productie van de auto’s van BMW i.

De driecilindermotoren van de MINI One First en de MINI One hebben nu een cilinderinhoud van 1,5 liter (was 1,2 liter). Dat zorgt voor een toename van het koppel met 10 Nm tot respectievelijk 160 en 190 Nm. Verder is van alle benzinemotoren de maximale inspuitdruk verhoogt van 200 naar 350 bar. Verder zijn de bladen van de turbo gemaakt van uiterst hittebestendig materiaal. De common-railinspuiting van de dieselmotoren zorgt dat de brandstof met nog grotere precisie in de verbrandingskamers komt. Daarvoor is de maximumdruk in de driecilinders van de MINI One D en de MINI Cooper D verhoogd tot 2.200 bar en die in de viercilinder van de MINI Cooper SD tot 2.500 bar. De krachtigste dieselmotor is tevens voorzien van een tweetrapsturbo.

Nieuwe 7-traps Steptronic transmissie met dubbele koppeling en nieuwe 8-traps Steptronic.

Optioneel is een 7-traps Steptronic transmissie met dubbele koppeling leverbaar voor de MINI One, MINI Cooper, MINI Cooper S en MINI Cooper D. Deze nieuwe transmissie schakelt bijzonder snel en maakt sportieve acceleratie mogelijk zonder onderbreking van de aandrijving. Een extra sportieve versie van deze transmissie is er voor de MINI Cooper S – met schakelpeddels aan het stuur voor als de bestuurder zelf wil schakelen. De MINI Cooper SD is standaard voorzien van een 8-traps Steptronic. Die automaat is uniek in dit segment en is sterk genoeg om het vermogen en de kracht van de krachtigste dieselmotor op de voorwielen over te brengen. Deze Steptronic is te bedienen via een elektronische keuzehendel; een 8-traps Steptronic sporttransmissie met peddels aan het stuur is optioneel. Alle leverbare Steptronic-transmissies zijn voorzien van de Coasting-functie in de MID- en GREEN-modi. Ook zijn ze voorzien van de nieuwste generatie van het start-stopsysteem. Met behulp van informatie van de frontcamera en de navigatie kan het start-stopsysteem situaties herkennen waarin het de motor niet moet uitschakelen, bijvoorbeeld kort voor een bocht of een rotonde.

Standaard: multifunctioneel stuurwiel en radio met 6,5-inch kleurenscherm.

Het nieuw ontworpen driespaaksstuur is voorzien van multifunctionele knoppen. Aan de linkerzijde van het stuur zitten de knoppen voor de Speed Limit Device – om een maximumsnelheid in te stellen – en aan de rechterkant die voor de audio en communicatie. Optioneel zijn een met leder bekleed stuurwiel, evenals soortgelijke sturen in het MINI Yours- en het John Cooper Works-gamma.

De standaarduitvoering omvat onder meer een audiosysteem met 6,5-inch kleurenscherm in het centrale instrumentenpaneel en integratie van de mobiele telefoon via Bluetooth. De controledisplay heeft een touchscreen-functie in samenhang met het optionele Radio MINI Visual Boost en een navigatiesysteem.

Ook de Automatische regen- en lichtsensor en de basis-LED’s achteraan zijn voortaan standaard.

Nieuwe opties: draadloos telefoon opladen, projectie van het MINI logo.

Ook draadloos opladen is een optie voor de vernieuwde MINI 3-deurs, MINI 5-deurs en MINI Cabrio. De bergruimte in de middenarmsteun heeft een voorziening die draadloos opladen van daarvoor geschikte mobiele telefoons mogelijk maakt. Deze optie omvat ook een tweede USB-aansluiting vóór in de middenconsole. Het optionele MINI Excitement Package omvat nu ook projectie van het MINI logo aan de bestuurderszijde. Als het portier is geopend, wordt het MINI logo op de grond geprojecteerd door een lamp in de buitenspiegel. Het logo is 20 seconden zichtbaar of zolang het portier is geopend.

MINI Connected: digitale diensten die uniek zijn in dit segment.

Met de nieuwe functies van MINI Connected biedt MINI een uitgebreid gamma van digitale diensten op premiumniveau dat uniek is in dit segment. Nieuwe diensten zijn Real Time Traffic Information, automatische kaartupdates via de mobiele telefoon, de Personal Assistant Service en het internetportal voor in de auto – MINI Online – met nieuws, weerbericht en actuele brandstofprijzen. Voorbereiding op Apple Car Play is optioneel. De nieuwe diensten zijn leverbaar in drie pakketten. De optie Connected Media omvat digitale infotainmentvoorzieningen die zijn te combineren met Radio MINI Visual Boost. Met Connected Navigation wordt het navigatiesysteem in de MINI een slim, connected informatiecentrum. Het Connected Navigation Plus-pakket bevat alle MINI Connected XL-functies.

Met de persoonlijke mobiliteitsassistent MINI Connected kan de chauffeur zijn MINI volledig integreren in zijn dagelijkse digitale leven. De MINI Connected App verbindt de auto met bijvoorbeeld de smartphone of smartwatch, zodat MINI Connected toegang heeft tot agenda en contactpersonen om routes te plannen en de optimale vertrektijd aan te geven. Met Send to Car zijn geplande routes naar het navigatiesysteem te verzenden en Remote Services geeft – op bijvoorbeeld de smartphone of andere mobiele device – niet alleen de plaats van de auto aan, maar ook het brandstofniveau en andere voertuiginformatie. Ook is de verlichting, de claxon, de ventilatie en deurvergrendeling op afstand te bedienen. De MINI is ook slim online via het 4G-netwerk dankzij de simkaart die in de auto is geïntegreerd. Daarmee is MINI Teleservices en Intelligent Emergency Call te gebruiken. De laatste meldt automatisch niet alleen de locatie als de auto is betrokken bij een ongeval, maar ook de zwaarte ervan.

Nieuwe diensten voor de MINI 3-deurs, MINI 5-deurs en MINI Cabrio zijn onder meer MINI Find Mate. Tags die zijn voorzien van een tracking-functie kunnen worden bevestigd aan goederen en voorwerpen die met de MINI worden vervoerd – zoals sleutelbossen, tassen en koffers. Hun positie is niet alleen te zien op het scherm van de boordcomputer, maar ook in de MINI Connected App op bijvoorbeeld de smartphone. Zo zorgt MINI Find Mate dat persoonlijke spullen niet zoekraken of vergeten worden.

Vanaf november 2017 zullen de CFRP aandrijfassen in de high-performance sportwagens BMW M3 Berline, BMW M4 Coupé en de BMW M4 Cabrio (gecombineerd brandstofverbruik: 9,5 – 8,3l/100 km. CO2-emissie gecombineerd: 218 – 194 g/km) geleidelijk aan worden vervangen door M specifieke high-performance aandrijfassen gemaakt van staal.

Munich. From November 2017 onwards, the CFRP driveshaft in the BMW M3 Sedan, BMW M4 Coupe and BMW M4 Convertible high-performance sports cars (fuel consumption combined: 9.5 – 8.3 l/100 km [29.7 – 34.0 mpg imp], CO2 emissions combined: 218 –194 g/km) will be gradually replaced by an M specific high-performance driveshaft made of steel. This measure will create the necessary technical basis for meeting future statutory emissions requirements. At a later point in time, a petrol particulate filter (PPF) will be incorporated into the existing installation space in these models in major markets.

The newly developed steel driveshaft has been designed to ensure the superlative performance and handling qualities of the BMW M3/M4 high-performance sports cars remain unaffected.

For production-related reasons, this pre-enabling needs to be carried out universally for the BMW M3 Sedan, BMW M4 Coupe and BMW M4 Convertible. This measure does not apply to the BMW M4 CS and BMW M4 GTS special-edition models.

Now in their fifth generation, the BMW M3 Sedan, BMW M4 Coupe and BMW M4 Convertible represent the epitome of the high-performance sports car that can be used without compromise every day. Customer deliveries of the successful current generation of models have now topped 68,000.

Consumption and Emission Data.

Een nog krachtiger design, LED-koplampen en een geheel nieuw interieur tillen de sportiviteit en het kwaliteitsgevoel naar een nog hoger niveau. • De nieuwe uitvoering van de sportiefste coupé en cabrio in het compacte luxesegment verschijnt in juli 2017 op de markt. Sinds 2014 zijn al meer dan 140.000 stuks van de BMW 2 Reeks Coupé en BMW 2 Reeks Cabrio verkocht. De grootste markten zijn de VS, Groot-Brittannië en Duitsland.

• Vernieuwde voorkant met bredere luchtinlaten en prominenter niervormig radiatorrooster versterkt het sportieve maar elegante uiterlijk van de wagen, net als het design van de lichten (inclusief standaard bi-LED-koplampen en LED-achterlichten). De koplampen kunnen als optie ook in adaptieve, volledig uit LED's bestaande uitvoering worden gekozen, waarvan de opvallende lichtgrafiek de dynamische en technische uitstraling van de voorkant versterkt. De bekende look met dubbele ronde koplampen is hexagonaal geïnterpreteerd, wat hem een nog exacter en moderner uiterlijk verschaft.

• Drie nieuwe koetswerkkleuren – Sunset Orange, Seaside Blue en Mediterranean Blue – verlenen de BMW 2 Reeks Coupé en BMW 2 Reeks Cabrio nog meer présence. Vier nieuwe lichtmetalen velgdesigns (17" en 18") breiden de mogelijkheden tot individualisering nog uit.

• Volkomen nieuw ontworpen instrumentenbord dat nog meer op de bestuurder is gericht, biedt een nog royaler gevoel van ruimte. Exclusieve materialen en nieuwe zetelbekledingen van stof en leder verlenen het interieur nog meer klasse.

• Innovatief bedieningsconcept met iDrive-systeem van de nieuwste generatie. Als optie verkrijgbaar navigatiesysteem Professional met 8,8"-aanraakscherm, Voice Control en iDrive met aanraakgevoelige interface.

Munich. From the spring of 2017, the new BMW 5 Series, the sportiest and most innovative business sedan in its segment, will also set new standards in terms of efficiency. The new BMW 520d EfficientDynamics Edition impresses with a combined fuel consumption level of 4.3 to 3.9 litres per 100 kilometres (combined CO2 emission level: 114 – 102 g/km). Also, from March 2017, groundbreaking innovations in the areas of networking and operating, now being presented for the first time in the BMW 5 Series, will find their way into further model series – the digital parking space search service On-Street Parking Information and the live tile arrangement of the menu on the Control Display.

With a further extended range of driver assistance systems, the BMW 7 Series is making further advancements on the way to automated driving. The spectrum now also includes, amongst other things, the Lane Departure Assistant, ActiveAssist Collision Avoidance, Cross-Traffic and Wrong-Way Driving Alert as well as the Remote 3D View function. From the spring of 2017, BMW 6 Series models will underpin their exclusive and sporty aura with attractive innovations included in the range of special equipment options. The Digital Charging Service, an innovative feature for convenient and economical charging of the high-voltage battery, will become available exclusively for BMW i and BMW iPerformance automobiles. From March 2017, new and exceedingly high-quality options will be added to the range of special equipment for the BMW 3 Series and the BMW 4 Series as well as for the models BMW X5 and BMW X6.

BMW 520d EfficientDynamics Edition: greater driving pleasure, less CO2. 
As from March 2017, the driving pleasure that is characteristic of the new BMW 5 Series Sedan will be combined with the lowest fuel consumption and emission levels in this vehicle segment. The new BMW 520d EfficientDynamics Edition is powered by a 2-litre, four-cylinder diesel engine featuring BMW TwinPower Turbo technology, delivering a maximum power output of 140 kW/190 hp and a peak torque of 400 Newton metres available between 1,750 and 2,500 rpm. The Sedan accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.5 seconds and achieves a combined fuel consumption of between 4.3 and 3.9 litres per 100 kilometres and CO2 emission levels of between 114 and 102 grams per kilometres (figures as per EU test cycle, depending on selected tyre size). The power unit of the BMW 520d EfficientDynamics Edition features, inter alia, a turbo charger mounted on anti-friction bearings, high pressure exhaust gas recirculation, a map-controlled oil pump and further developed Common Rail direct injection technology, the solenoid injectors of which ensure precise fuel dosing with a maximum pressure of 2,000 bar.

In addition to the optimised efficiency of both the engine and the standard 8-speed Steptronic transmission, enhanced aerodynamic characteristics as well as the Sedan’s greatly reduced weight vs. its predecessor also contribute towards achieving the favourable fuel consumption and CO2 emission levels. Moreover, in order to optimise emission behaviour, the BMW 520d EfficientDynamics Edition is equipped with BMW BluePerformance technology, which in addition to the particulate filter, an oxidation catalyst and a NOX storage catalyst, also features an SCR catalytic converter with AdBlue injection technology reducing nitrogen oxide emissions even further.

On-Street Parking Information in further BMW models and available for additional towns and cities.
Starting in March 2017, thanks to intelligent networking, drivers will be provided in a large number of BMW models not only with real-time information on the traffic situation, but will also receive assistance in finding a parking space in major urban areas. The BMW ConnectedDrive Service Real Time Traffic Information (RTTI), which is available in conjunction with the navigation system Professional, will also be complemented by the unique On-Street Parking Information function. Similar to the RTTI feature, this digital service uses intelligent networking to assess the availability of free road-side parking spaces from both pre-stored and current data. The calculated probability of finding a free parking space at the destination is displayed to the driver by means of coloured markings on the navigation map depicted on the Control Display.

In future, the On-Street Parking Information service will make finding a parking space far easier in as many as ten German cities. In addition to Munich, Berlin, Hamburg, Cologne, Düsseldorf, Frankfurt and Stuttgart, the availability of parking spaces will also be analysed in real time in Nuremberg, Bremen and Hanover as from March 2017. The function, which is being featured for the first time in the new BMW 5 Series Sedan, is now available for all current models with the exception of the BMW X1, the BMW 2 Series Active Tourer and the BMW 2 Series Gran Tourer.

Even more intuitive: Navigation system Professional with animated buttons arranged as tiles.
The latest innovations for the display and control concept, which made their debut in the new BMW 5 Series, will be available for further series as from March 2017. In conjunction with the navigation system Professional, the Control Display of the iDrive system will, thanks to a new enhanced graphic representation, facilitate even more intuitive operation in the BMW 7 Series and BMW 6 Series as well as in all variants of the BMW M6. The on-board monitor displays menus in the form of horizontally arranged buttons with a tile structure. These six buttons, the order of which can be individually configured by the driver, are displayed in the main menu on two sides of the screen. This ensures more convenient and faster access to the desired content. A new menu option is “Messages”, allowing access to incoming text messages and e-mails as well as information on the vehicle’s operating condition.

These functions, which are available using the menu selection, are symbolised by animated graphics in live mode. For example, in the overview and by means of a displayed map section, the navigation menu button already displays the route the vehicle is currently travelling on, whilst the entertainment menu graphics show the title of the song currently playing, including album cover, or the name of the selected radio station.

BMW 7 Series with additional driver assistance systems and Remote 3D View.
From the spring of 2017, there will be an even broader choice of driver assistance systems to ensure even greater driving pleasure, comfort and safety in 7 Series models. From March 2017, the systems will be included in the optional equipment package Driving Assistant Plus. They offer the driver effective assistance in many different situations, leading the way to automated driving. For example, the Steering and Lane Guidance Assistant being presented in the luxury sedans for the first time will be complemented by the Lane Change Assistant, which can be used when driving on motorways and other roads with separated directional carriageways. At speeds of between 70 and 180 km/h, the driver can initiate a lane change by holding the indicator lever in the one-touch position. The system sensors then analyse the situation on the neighbouring carriageway. If they detect that this lane is clear and there are no vehicles approaching at a high speed, the steering assistant conveniently helps the driver to change lanes.  

A further addition to the range of Driving Assistant Plus functions is the ActiveAssist Collision Avoidance system. Should a rapid lane change become necessary in order to avoid a suddenly appearing obstacle, it provides steering assistance at speeds of up to 160 km/h. The Cross Traffic Alert function, also included in the equipment package as from March, provides visual and acoustic signals if the traffic signs identified by the stereo camera should indicate that the driver has overlooked a road with right of way. The new Driving Assistant Plus features are complemented by the Wrong-Way Driving Alert feature. This system analyses navigation data in order to provide information on hazardous situations. It intervenes when the vehicle is driving in the wrong direction into one-way streets, roundabouts or motorway entrances.

In conjunction with the Surround View system, a feature that provides assistance with a combination of camera images taken from several different perspectives when the vehicle is manoeuvring in tricky situations, drivers of a BMW 7 Series will in future also have access to the Remote 3D View feature, the Surround View system of which provides them with permanent access to a three-dimensional live image of their vehicle and its surroundings, this being transmitted to their smartphone via the BMW Connected feature.

New option for the BMW 3 Series and the BMW 4 Series: Multifunctional instrument display.
From March 2017, a novel feature in the field of display technology will also ensure an even more intensive driving experience in BMW 3 Series and BMW 4 Series models, for which the multifunctional instrument display will be optionally available. The fully digital TFT colour display featuring black panel technology for the cockpit provides driving-related information in an individually selectable design. The colour scheme, graphic representation and choice of contents vary according to the driving mode selected via the Driving Experience Control button.

In COMFORT mode, the display shows a conventional image of the four round instruments using the corresponding graphics. A zoom function highlights the respective driving speed and engine speed. In ECO PRO mode, additional information on current fuel efficiency replaces the rev counter. In SPORT mode, the current speed is displayed digitally in the form of a large central figure, whilst the selected gear is indicated in the centre of the rev counter.

BMW 6 Series with distinctive accents for the exterior and interior.
From the spring of 2017, new and attractive special equipment features will also be available for the BMW 6 Series. These options, which are on offer exclusively for the BMW 6 Series Coupe, the BMW 6 Series Convertible and the BMW 6 Series Gran Coupe, underscore the sporting character of the three luxury class models. The choice of body colours will be complemented by the brand-new variant Sonic Speed Blue metallic. In conjunction with the M Sports package, new 20-inch, M bicolour light alloy wheels boasting an M-specific double spoke design will be available, including mixed tyres and emergency running characteristics as well as interior trims in a carbon fibre look.

Comfortable, eco-friendly, cost efficient: Digital Charging Service for BMW i and BMW iPerformance automobiles.
The BMW i brand has become a pioneer in the field of sustainable individual mobility, not only thanks to groundbreaking vehicle concepts and drive technologies, but also with numerous innovative services. The latest innovation in this area is the Digital Charging Service for intelligent charging of the high-voltage battery featured in BMW i and BMW iPerformance automobiles. So the BMW Group is the first carmaker to offer a system that conveniently helps the driver to make use of favourable electricity tariffs or a high proportion of self-generated solar energy during the charging process.

In order to achieve best possible charging cost efficiency, the BMW Digital Charging Service takes into account not only tariffs with a dynamically varying price in the daytime, but also those that include predetermined highest and lowest prices. As a result, it is possible, for example, to take maximum advantage of particularly favourable overnight rates.

In conjunction with the new BMW i Wallbox Connect, the Digital Charging Service can also optimise the use of electricity from a domestic photovoltaic system. In this case, the amount of locally generated solar electricity is predicted based on the system’s performance data and the current weather forecast. Using this data, it is also possible to determine the proportion of solar electricity that is not consumed in the home at the time of being produced and can, therefore, be used for completely emission-free mobility. As a result, fully electric and/or hybrid vehicles are integrated as best possible into the domestic environment and the customer’s individual energy concept.

The BMW Digital Charging Service automatically schedules the start and finish of each charging process with a view to best possible cost efficiency or maximum proportion of green electricity respectively. In the process, the charging schedule always ensures that the vehicle has the maximum battery capacity at the desired departure time and that the interior is also fully air-conditioned. The unique service is an integral part of BMW ConnectedDrive Services available for all BMW i and BMW iPerformance automobiles.

New light alloy wheels for the BMW X5 and the BMW X6.
In the spring of 2017, the range of optional equipment available ex factory for the models BMW X5 and BMW X6 will also include for the

first time 21-inch light alloy wheels previously only available exclusively from the Original BMW Accessory range. The M light alloy wheels boasting a double spoke design and bicolour look with burnished spokes come with mixed tyres with emergency running characteristics. They are available in conjunction with the M Sports Package for all model variants with the exception of the BMW X5 sDrive25d, BMW X5 xDrive25d and the BMW X5 xDrive40e iPerformance.

BMW X5 M and BMW X6 M now with the navigation package ConnectedDrive as standard.
As from the spring of 2017, the range of standard equipment for the BMW X5 M and the BMW X6 M will be supplemented by the navigation package ConnectedDrive, also featuring telephony with wireless charging. It includes among other options the navigation system Professional, a smartphone holder with which inductive charging of a mobile phone is possible, the RTTI service including On-Street Parking Information, a WiFi hotspot, ConnectedDrive Services, Concierge Services and Remote Services.

Met de wereldpremière van de krachtigste dieselmotor in een productiemodel van BMW en de introductie van drie BMW iPerformance modellen wordt het gamma van de BMW 7 Reeks vanaf de zomer van 2016 nog veelzijdiger en fascinerender. Tegelijkertijd worden de BMW 1 Reeks en de BMW 2 Reeks leverbaar met benzinemotoren van de nieuwste generatie. BMW 7 Reeks: Nieuwe high-performance dieselmotor en drie BMW iPerformance versies.
Dankzij de nieuwste technische innovaties, die vanaf de zomer van 2016 leverbaar zijn, vormt de BMW 7 Reeks in de topklasse de maatstaf voor dynamiek en efficiency. Een compleet nieuw ontwikkelde zescilinder-in-lijn dieselmotor debuteert in de BMW 750d xDrive en de BMW 750Ld xDrive. De BMW TwinPower Turbo technologie in de drielitermotor omvat vier turbo’s, waarvan de nauwkeurige aansturing voor een vroege afgifte van de trekkracht zorgt, en die trekkracht blijft beschikbaar tot hoge toerentallen. Met een maximumvermogen van 294 kW (400 pk) en een maximumkoppel van 760 Nm is de nieuwe zescilinder de krachtigste dieselmotor ooit in een BMW. Dankzij de sublieme vermogensafgifte en de standaard intelligente vierwielaandrijving accelereert de BMW 750d xDrive van 0 naar 100 km/u in 4,6 seconden (BMW 750Ld xDrive: 4,7 seconden). Verder kenmerkt de nieuwe top-of-the-range dieselmotor zich door een buitengewoon laag brandstofverbruik, dat uniek is gezien het hoge prestatieniveau. Het gecombineerde brandstofverbruik van de BMW 750d xDrive en de BMW 750Ld xDrive ligt tussen de 5,7 en 5,9 l/100 km en de CO2-emissies liggen tussen 149 en 154 g/km (volgens EU-testcyclus, afhankelijk van gekozen bandenmaat).

De BMW 7 Reeks iPerformance versies zijn net als de nieuwe dieselvarianten leverbaar vanaf de zomer van 2016. De plug-inhybride aandrijving omvat BMW eDrive technologie van BMW i en wordt leverbaar voor de BMW 740e iPerformance met standaardwielbasis, de BMW 740Le iPerformance met lange wielbasis en de BMW 740Le xDrive iPerformance met intelligente vierwielaandrijving. Samen leveren de verbrandingsmotor en de elektromotor in deze versies een systeemvermogen van 240 kW (326 pk), waarbij de intelligente aansturing voor een directe vermogensafgifte en een ongeëvenaarde efficiency zorgt. Ook kan volledig elektrisch een afstand van maximaal 44-48 kilometer worden afgelegd (BMW 740Le xDrive iPerformance: 41-45 kilometer). De sprint van 0 naar 100 km/u vergt 5,4 seconden in de BMW 740e iPerformance, 5,5 seconden in de BMW 740Le iPerformance en 5,3 seconden in de BMW 740Le xDrive iPerformance. Het gemiddelde gecombineerde brandstofverbruik per 100 kilometer ligt tussen de 2,0 en 2,2 liter (BMW 740Le xDrive iPerformance: 2,1-2,5 liter). De CO2-emissie bedraagt afhankelijk van de uitvoering 45-50 g/km (BMW 740e iPerformance), 45-51 g/km (BMW 740Le iPerformance) en 49-56 g/km voor de BMW 740Le xDrive iPerformance (volgens EU-testcyclus voor plug-inhybrides, afhankelijk van gekozen bandenmaat).

BMW M Performance-uitvoeringen van de BMW 1 Reeks en BMW 2 Reeks: nieuwe motorengeneratie met meer vermogen en betere efficiency.
Vanaf juli 2016 wordt het bijzonder sportieve karakter van de BMW M Performance uitvoeringen van de BMW 1 Reeks en de BMW 2 Reeks nog verder onderstreept door een bijzonder krachtige zescilinder benzinemotor van de nieuwste generatie. De nieuw ontwikkelde drielitermotor met M Performance Twin Power Turbo techniek heeft een vermogen van 250 kW (340 pk), wat 10 kW (14 pk) meer is dan de vorige motor. Het maximumkoppel bedraagt 500 Nm. Daardoor leveren de BMW M Performance modellen nu prestaties die vergelijkbaar zijn met die van de BMW 1 Reeks M Coupé, die van 2011 tot 2012 in productie was. Ze leggen de sprint van 0 naar 100 km/u tot 0,3 seconden sneller af dan hun voorganger, terwijl het brandstofverbruik en de CO2-emissies volgens de EU-testcyclus maximaal 7% lager zijn. Het toegenomen vermogen en de extra dynamiek komen ook tot uiting in de nieuwe typeaanduidingen voor de BMW M140i driedeurs en de BMW M140i vijfdeurs, de BMW M240i Coupé en de BMW M240i Cabrio. Ze zijn optioneel verkrijgbaar met de intelligente vierwielaandrijving BMW xDrive.

Met de standaard handgeschakelde zesversnellingsbak sprinten de BMW M140i driedeurs en de BMW M140i vijfdeurs van 0 naar 100 km/u in 4,8 seconden en met de als optie leverbare achttraps Steptronic sporttransmissie in 4,6 seconden. Het brandstofverbruik bedraagt volgens de EU-testcyclus 7,8 l/100 km (automaat: 7,1 l/100 km) en de CO2-emissie 179 g/km (163 g/km). De BMW M140i xDrive driedeurs en de BMW M140i xDrive vijfdeurs worden standaard geleverd met een achttraps Steptronic sporttransmissie en ze bereiken de 100 km/u vanaf stilstand in 4,4 seconden. Hun gecombineerde brandstofverbruik is 7,4 l/100 km en hun CO2-emissie is 169 g/km.

De BMW M Performance versies van de BMW 2 Reeks zijn optioneel leverbaar met intelligente vierwielaandrijving BMW xDrive en zijn dan standaard uitgerust met de achttraps Steptronic sporttransmissie. De BMW M240i Coupe sprint van 0 naar 100 km/u in 4,8 seconden (automaat: 4,6 seconden) en heeft volgens de EU-testcyclus een gecombineerd verbruik van 7,8 l/100 km (7,1 l/100 km). De CO2-emissie bedraagt 179 g/km (163 g/km). De BMW M240i xDrive Coupé sprint van 0 naar 100 km/u in 4,4 seconden en heeft een gemiddeld verbruik van 7,4 l/100 km en een CO2-emissie van 169 g/km.

De BMW M240i Cabrio accelereert van 0 naar 100 km/u in 4,9 seconden (automaat: 4,7 seconden). Het gemiddelde verbruik is 8,3 l/100 km (automaat: 7,4 l/100 km) en de CO2-emissie bedraagt 189 g/km (169 g/km). De BMW M240i xDrive Cabrio sprint van 0 naar 100 km/u in 4,6 seconden en heeft een gemiddeld brandstofverbruik van 7,8 l/100 km (EU-testcyclus) en een CO2-emissie van 179 g/km.

BMW 1 Reeks, BMW 2 Reeks Coupé en BMW 2 Reeks Cabrio: nieuwe viercilinder benzinemotor voor acht versies.
Vanaf juli 2016 zijn tal van uitvoeringen van de BMW 1 Reeks en BMW 2 Reeks leverbaar met motoren van de nieuwe generatie. Twee varianten van de BMW 1 Reeks driedeurs, de BMW 1 Reeks vijfdeurs, de BMW 2 Reeks Coupé en de BMW 2 Reeks Cabrio worden aangedreven door nieuwe viercilinder benzinemotoren die een nog betere combinatie van rijplezier en efficiency bieden. De tweelitermotoren zijn voorzien van de nieuwste BMW TwinPower Turbo technologie met een Twin Scroll turbo, directe brandstofinjectie, VALVETRONIC en Double VANOS. Het vermogen wordt aan de achterwielen afgegeven via een standaard handgeschakelde zesversnellingsbak of optioneel via een achttraps Steptronic-transmissie.

De nieuwe motoren zorgen in de BMW 120i driedeurs en de BMW 120i vijfdeurs voor een vermogenstoename van 5 kW (7 pk) naar 135 kW (184 pk). Met de handgeschakelde zesversnellingsbak of de optioneel verkrijgbare achttraps Steptronic transmissie accelereren beide modellen van 0 naar 100 km/u in 7,1 seconden. Het gecombineerde brandstofverbruik ligt op 5,7-6,1 l/100 km (automaat: 5,5-5,9 l/100 km). De CO2 emissie bedraagt 131-140 g/km (126-135 g/km, volgens EU-testcyclus, afhankelijk van gekozen bandenmaat).
Het vermogen van de BMW 125i driedeurs en de BMW 125i vijfdeurs is met 5 kW (7 pk) toegenomen. Met een vermogen van 165 kW (224 pk) en de inmiddels tot de standaarduitrusting behorende achttraps Steptronic transmissie sprinten beide versies van 0 naar 100 km/u in 6,1 seconden. De verbeterde dynamiek gaat gepaard met een lager brandstofverbruik van 5,7-5,9 l/100 km en een CO2 emissie van 130-134 g/km (volgens EU-testcyclus, afhankelijk van gekozen bandenmaat).

De nieuwe versie van de 135 kW (184 pk) sterke viercilindermotor verbetert ook de efficiency van de BMW 220i Coupé en de BMW 220i Cabrio. De BMW 220i Coupé accelereert van 0 naar 100 km/u in 7,1 seconden (automaat: 7,2 seconden) en heeft een gemiddeld verbruik van 5,7-6,1 l/100 km (5,5-5,9 l/100 km) alsmede een CO2-emissie van 131-140 g/km (126-135 g/km). De BMW 220i Cabrio sprint van 0 naar 100 km/u in 7,5 seconden (7,7 seconden) en het gemiddelde brandstofverbruik bedraagt nu 6,1-6,5 l/100 km (5,7-6,1 liter). De CO2-emissie is 139-149 g/km 131-(140 g/km, volgens EU-testcyclus, afhankelijk van gekozen bandenmaat).

In juli 2016 krijgen de sportiefste viercilinderuitvoeringen van de BMW 2 Reeks een vermogensupgrade van 5 kW (7 pk) naar 185 kW (252 pk) ten opzichte van hun voorgangers, de BMW 230i Coupé en BMW 230i Cabrio. Deze uitvoeringen zijn standaard ook voorzien van een handgeschakelde zesversnellingsbak en optioneel van een achttraps Steptronic of een achttraps Steptronic sport transmissie. De sprint van 0 naar 100 km/u kost de BMW 230i Coupe 5,8 seconden (automaat: 5,6 seconden). Het brandstofverbruik is 6,2-6,4 l/100 km (5,7-5,9 l/100 km) bij een CO2-emissie van 142-147 g/km (130-134 g/km). De BMW 230i Cabrio accelereert van 0 naar 100 km/u in 6,1 seconden (automaat: 5,9 seconden) en heeft een gemiddeld verbruik van 6,5-6,8 l/100 km (6,0-6,2 l/100 km). De CO2-emissie bedraagt 149-155 g/km (137-142 g/km, volgens EU-testcyclus, afhankelijk van gekozen bandenmaat).

Kenmerkende designdetails voor de BMW iPerformance-modellen.
Met de introductie van de eerste plug-inhybride modellen heeft BMW de BMW eDrive techniek – bestaande uit elektromotoren, high-performance lithium-ion-accu’s en intelligent energiemanagement – aan het gamma toegevoegd. Behalve de drie plug-inhybride uitvoeringen van de BMW 7 Reeks met 15 procent bijtelling, die vanaf juli 2016 leverbaar zijn, zijn in drie andere segmenten ook versies leverbaar die een verbrandingsmotor combineren met een elektromotor. Deze dragen voortaan de modelaanduidingen BMW 225xe iPerformance Active Tourer, BMW 330e iPerformance Berline en BMW X5 xDrive40e iPerformance. Dankzij de technologietransfer vanuit BMW i bieden ze een nieuw niveau van dynamiek en een grensverleggende efficiency, wat wordt onderstreept door kenmerkende designdetails aan de buitenzijde.

De BMW iPerformance zijn optioneel te voorzien van specifieke designdetails, zoals een ‘eDrive’ logo op de C-stijlen, een BMW i logo op de zijkanten, blauwe naafdoppen en een BMW-grille met sleuven in de typerende kleur BMW i blue. Vanaf december 2016 zijn deze nieuwe features optioneel leverbaar voor de BMW X5 xDrive40e iPerformance; voor alle overige BMW iPerformance modellen zijn ze al vanaf juli 2016 optioneel leverbaar. Andere uitrustingsdetails die oorspronkelijk voor de BMW i3 en de BMW i8 zijn ontwikkeld, zijn nu ook standaard of optioneel leverbaar voor alle BMW iPerformance modellen. Dit zijn onder meer hybridespecifieke BMW ConnectedDrive services en het complete BMW i 360° ELECTRIC-pakket.

Nieuw van BMW ConnectedDrive: BMW iDrive met een geoptimaliseerd menudisplay, een telefoonsysteem met draadloze oplaadmogelijkheid en een WLAN-hotspot voor meer modellen.
Vanaf de zomer van 2016 zijn drie nieuwe features beschikbaar op het gebied van BMW ConnectedDrive. Die waren voorheen alleen beschikbaar voor de BMW 7 Reeks, de BMW 6 Reeks en de BMW X3 en de BMW X4. Voortaan zijn ze ook beschikbaar voor de BMW 1 Reeks, de BMW 2 Reeks Coupé en de BMW 2 Reeks Cabrio, de BMW 3 Reeks, de BMW 4 Reeks, de BMW X5 en de BMW X6. Een nieuw, bijzonder duidelijk ingedeeld menu en een hogere resolutie voor de Control Display optimaliseren de bediening van de auto, het infotainmentsysteem, het navigatiesysteem en communicatiefuncties via de iDrive controller. In combinatie met het navigatiesysteem Professional toont de display het hoofdmenu en de bedieningsopties voor de diverse functies niet langer in lijsten, maar in de vorm van naast elkaar geplaatste knopsymbolen. Verder is de spraakherkenningsfunctie van het navigatiesysteem Professional aangevuld met de functie Natural Language, waarmee gesproken instructies niet alleen als vooraf bepaalde tekstmodules kunnen worden gegeven, maar ook met vrijelijk geformuleerd in complete zinnen.

Het optionele telefoonsysteem met draadloze oplaadmogelijkheid biedt meer comfort bij het gebruik van mobiele telefoons in de auto. Inductief oplaadbare smartphones kunnen draadloos worden opgeladen tijdens het rijden door ze op de hiervoor bestemde plek op de tunnelconsole te leggen. Niet alleen wordt de smartphone gekoppeld aan het bedieningssysteem van de auto, het nieuwe systeem zorgt ook voor verbinding met de buitenantenne van de auto. Ook omvat het systeem twee USB-poorten en een WLAN hotspotfunctie, die high-speed internet-connectiviteit biedt voor maximaal acht mobiele apparaten.

Groter aanbod aan lederen bekleding voor de M Sport uitvoeringen van de BMW 1 Reeks, BMW 2 Reeks, BMW 3 Reeks en BMW 4 Reeks; nieuw entertainmentsysteem voor de achterpassagiers leverbaar voor de BMW X5 en de BMW X6.
Dankzij nieuwe personaliseringsmogelijkheden voor het interieur zijn de M Sport modellen vanaf juli 2016 nog aantrekkelijker. Doordat die qua kleurstelling perfect past bij de dynamische M Sport, is de lederen bekleding Dakota in de kleur zwart met blauwe stiksels voortaan leverbaar voor de BMW 1 Reeks, de BMW 2 Reeks Coupé, de BMW 2 Reeks Cabrio en voor alle uitvoeringen van de BMW 3 Reeks en de BMW 4 Reeks. In het geval van de BMW 3 Reeks en de BMW 4 Reeks is voor zowel de M Sport als de uitvoeringen Luxury Line en Sport Line nu de bekleding Dakota Veneto Beige verkrijgbaar in combinatie met de interieurkleur zwart.

Upgrade van de motoren van de BMW 4 Reeks – Uitbreiding van het aantal motorisaties die met de intelligente vierwielaandrijving BMW xDrive uitgerust kunnen worden binnen de BMW 7 Reeks en de BMW 2 Reeks Gran Tourer – Nieuwe optionele uitrustingsmogelijkheden voor de BMW 6 Reeks (incl wireless charging) en de BMW 7 Reeks (Incl. De BMW M3 Berline, BMW M4 Coupé en BMW M4 Cabrio zijn elk op zich hoog performante sportwagens, geschikt voor dagelijks gebruik. Vanaf het voorjaar van 2016 zullen de drie modellen beschikbaar zijn met een Competition pakket ontworpen door BMW M GmbH dat perfect een extra sportief karakter met een nog krachtigere dynamiek combineert. Naast de verbeteringen in rijgedrag, verleent het Competition pakket 14kW/19pk die het vermogen tot 331kW/450 pk opdrijft. De nieuwe BMW 7 Reeks, nieuwe BMW X1 en BMW 2 Reeks Active Tourer krijgen extra aandrijflijnen – Parking Assistant komt met een groter scala aan functies voor de BMW 1 Reeks, BMW 2 Reeks, BMW 3 Reeks en BMW 4 Reeks – Wereldwijde primeur: lancering van de optie Remoted Controlled Parking voor de BMW 7 Reeks – De nieuwe BMW X1 zal ook beschikbaar zijn in M Sport versie.
