De nieuwe BMW 2 Reeks Gran Coupé biedt de ervaring van sportiviteit en elegantie aan in het compacte premiumsegment. De tweede modelgeneratie van het vierdeursmodel legt nu nog meer nadruk op deze typische BMW kwaliteiten. De nieuwe BMW 2 Reeks Gran Coupé ziet er bijzonder extravert uit met zijn design dat merkbaar krachtiger en dynamischer oogt.

Het volledig vernieuwde aandrijvingsgamma, de ingrijpend verbeterde ophangingstechnologie en de innovatieve systemen voor geautomatiseerd rijden en parkeren garanderen een uniek rijplezier.

Ook op het vlak van digitalisering laat de nieuwe BMW 2 Reeks Gran Coupé zich kenmerken met zijn vooruitstrevende karakter. De gebruikerservaring in het hertekende interieur wordt bepaald door de nieuwe BMW iDrive met QuickSelect en de brede waaier aan digitale diensten en games op basis van het BMW Operating System 9.

De nieuwe BMW 2 Reeks Gran Coupé zal van de band rollen in de BMW Group-fabriek in Leipzig en de marktlancering gaat in maart 2025 van start.

Sportieve elegantie in de typische stijl van BMW.

Het koetswerkdesign van de nieuwe BMW 2 Reeks Gran Coupé onderscheidt zich door een expressieve voorkant, een dynamisch, langgerekt silhouet en een krachtig gelijnde achterkant. Die combinatie legt nog meer nadruk op de sportieve elegantie die zo kenmerkend is voor een BMW Gran Coupé.

Het brede BMW radiatorrooster, dat zich onder het niveau de koplampen bevindt, valt op door zijn innovatieve structuur met verticale en diagonale spijlen, terwijl de grote onderste luchtinlaat de nieuwe BMW 2 Reeks Gran Coupé visueel dichter bij het asfalt legt.

De standaard LED headlights bestaan uit verticale elementen voor de dagrijlichten en richtingaanwijzers. Adaptive LED Headlights met niet-verblindende matrix-grootlichten, hoekverlichting en blauwe accenten zijn als optie verkrijgbaar. De optie BMW Iconic Glow met contourlijnverlichting voor het BMW radiatorrooster is vanaf maart 2025 verkrijgbaar.

Het zijaanzicht wordt bepaald door de lange motorkap, korte overhangen en licht aflopende daklijn. De uitgesproken inkeping in de overgang naar de achterkant benadrukt het atletisch gevormde schoudergedeelte. Aan de achterzijde van de elegante, langgerekte zijruiten accentueert een discreet gebosseleerd cijfer 2 de karakteristieke Hofmeister-knik. De achterkant dankt zijn krachtige, moderne uitstraling aan een royale oppervlaktestructuur met slechts enkele lijnen, vlakke lichten met een opvallende inkeping en onzichtbaar geïntegreerde uitlaatpijpen (uitzondering: BMW M235 xDrive Gran Coupé). Het M Sportpakket en het M Sport Pack Pro accentueren de geraffineerde dynamische prestaties.

Het gamma koetswerkafwerkingen omvat twee niet-metaalkleuren en zeven metaalkleuren, vier BMW Individual-afwerkingen en diverse speciale BMW Individual-afwerkingen. Voor het dak is een contrasterende hoogglanzende zwarte afwerking verkrijgbaar.

Het nieuwe model van de BMW 2 Reeks Gran Coupé werd met 20 millimeter verlengd tot 4.546 millimeter, terwijl de wielbasis 2.670 millimeter bedraagt. In de breedte meet de wagen 1.800 millimeter en de hoogte nam met 25 millimeter toe tot 1.445 millimeter.

Ledervrij interieur in een hoogwaardige sfeer.

Het nieuw ontworpen interieur van de BMW 2 Reeks Gran Coupé is standaard volledig ledervrij. De Veganza/Alcantara-bekleding is als optie verkrijgbaar in combinatie met handgenaaide contrasterende naden voor het instrumentenbord. De dynamisch decoratieve lijsten uit gefreesd aluminium beschikken over achtergrondverlichting en dragen eveneens bij tot de geraffineerde en atletische hoogwaardige sfeer in de wagen. Het BMW Curved Display en de nieuw ontworpen versnellingspook onderstrepen het vooruitstrevende karakter van het interieur.

En voor een hoog comfortpeil tijdens lange ritten zorgen de nieuw ontworpen zetels. Als optie worden sportzetels in Econeer aangeboden, terwijl ook M sportzetels verkrijgbaar zijn. Alle versies zijn leverbaar met zetelverwarming en elektrische verstelmogelijkheden. De sportzetels kunnen optioneel worden gecombineerd met een massagefunctie, terwijl voor de M sportzetels een lendensteun beschikbaar is. Het standaard sportstuur kan worden vervangen door een lederen M sportstuur, dat eveneens werd hertekend. Dit stuur maakt deel uit van het M Sportpakket en beschikt over schakelpaddles om manueel te schakelen. Een interactieairbag tussen bestuurder en voorpassagier draagt voortaan standaard bij tot een optimale bescherming van de inzittenden. De rugleuning van de achterbank is standaard in drie delen neerklapbaar (40: 20: 40), terwijl het koffervolume 430 liter bedraagt (BMW 220 Gran Coupé, BMW 220d Gran Coupé: 360 liter).

Topmodel met race-DNA en uitstekende prestaties.

De BMW M235 xDrive Gran Coupé (gecombineerd brandstofverbruik: 8,2 – 7,5 l/100 km; gecombineerde CO₂-uitstoot: 185 – 170 g/km volgens de WLTP-cyclus; CO₂-klassen: G – F) staat aan de top van het modelgamma en pakt uit met sterk verbeterde prestatiekenmerken. Met zijn 221 kW/300 pk sterke viercilindermotor sprint de prestatiegerichte BMW M in 4,9 seconden van 0 naar 100 km/u. Exclusief voor de BMW M235 xDrive Gran Coupé wordt ook een M Technical Pack voor circuitgerichte prestaties aangeboden, inclusief bijkomende gewichtsverlagende ingrepen, gesmede BMW M 19" lichtmetalen velgen en een M compound-remsysteem met uitzonderlijke remprestaties.

M Sportpakket met adaptieve M sportophanging en Sport Steering.

De nieuwe BMW M235 xDrive Gran Coupé beschikt standaard over uitrusting die op de andere modelvarianten enkel als onderdeel van het optionele M Sportpakket wordt aangeboden. Een van die voorzieningen is de adaptieve M sportophanging, die zowel de wendbaarheid als het comfort over lange afstanden verbetert door middel van variabele, mechanisch gestuurde en frequentieselectieve schokdempers. Drukpieken in de schokdempers worden afgevlakt door extra kleppen die op de tractiekant werken. Met de adaptieve M sportophanging wordt de wagen tot 8 millimeter verlaagd en beschikt hij ook over Sport Steering.

Nieuwe motorgeneratie, standaard 7-versnellingsbak Steptronic.

Daarnaast omvat het aandrijvingsgamma voor de lancering geavanceerde viercilinder benzine- en dieselmotoren met 125 kW/170 pk in de nieuwe BMW 220 Gran Coupé (gecombineerd brandstofverbruik: 5,7 – 5,2 l/100 km; gecombineerde CO₂-uitstoot: 129 – 119 g/km volgens de WLTP-cyclus; CO₂-klasse: D), 120 kW/163 pk in de nieuwe BMW 220d Gran Coupé (gecombineerd brandstofverbruik: 4,6 – 4,2 l/100 km; gecombineerde CO₂-uitstoot: 120 – 110 g/km volgens de WLTP-cyclus; CO₂-klassen: D – C) en 110 kW/150 pk in de nieuwe BMW 218d Gran Coupé (gecombineerd brandstofverbruik: 5,0 – 4,6 l/100 km; gecombineerde CO₂-uitstoot: 130 – 120 g/km volgens de WLTP-cyclus; CO₂-klasse: D). Alle motoren brengen hun vermogen standaard over op de weg via een 7-versnellingsbak Steptronic met dubbele koppeling. De aandrijvingen van de BMW 220 Gran Coupé en BMW 220d Gran Coupé zijn geëlektrificeerd met 48V Mild Hybrid-technologie.

Verbeterde koetswerkstijfheid, verder ontwikkeld chassis.

De toegenomen stijfheid van de koetswerkstructuur en de chassisverbindingen helpt de nieuwe BMW 2 Reeks Gran Coupé om de wendbaarheid, de stuurprecisie en de bochtdynamiek te verbeteren. De verdere verfijning van het chassis omvat geoptimaliseerde kinematica en nieuwe schokdempertechnologie. De grotere naspoorbuiging van de voorwielen zorgt voor een stabiel rijgedrag in rechte lijn en een geoptimaliseerde stuurfeedback.

Tot de standaarduitrusting behoren ook een direct gestuurde wielslipbeperking, een geïntegreerd remsysteem en 17" lichtmetalen velgen (BMW M235 xDrive Gran Coupé: 18"). Het M Sportpakket omvat de verlaagde adaptieve M sportophanging, Sport Steering en 18" lichtmetalen velgen. Tegen meerprijs kunnen lichtmetalen velgen met een diameter tot 19" en M sportremmen besteld worden.

Moderne systemen voor gedeeltelijk geautomatiseerd rijden en parkeren.

De standaard en optionele rijhulpsystemen voor de nieuwe BMW 2 Reeks Gran Coupé leggen de lat op het vlak van functioneel bereik en betrouwbaarheid bijzonder hoog voor de concurrentie. Tot de standaarduitrusting behoren het Driving Assistant Pack met botswaarschuwing vooraan, Lane Departure Warning, uitstapwaarschuwing en Speed Limit Info, evenals het Parking Assistant Pack met Reversing Assistant.

Optionele hoogtepunten zijn onder meer de Steering & Lane Control Assistant, de automatische Speed Limit Assist en Route Speed Control bij gebruik van de Active Cruise Control met Stop&Go functie. Het Parking Assistant Pack Professional is eveneens beschikbaar voor de modellen BMW 220 Gran Coupé en BMW 220d Gran Coupé: Zo kunnen bestuurders parkeermanoeuvres van buitenaf aansturen met een smartphone en de My BMW App.

Uitgebreide standaarduitrusting en hoogwaardige opties.

De sterk uitgebreide standaarduitrusting voor de nieuwe BMW 2 Reeks Gran Coupé omvat ook de BMW Live Cockpit Navigation Plus met het cloudgebaseerde navigatiesysteem BMW Maps. Nieuwe optionele uitrustingspakketten maken een gerichte personalisering mogelijk. Zo omvat het innovatiepakket de BMW Live Cockpit Navigation Professional met BMW Head-Up Display en Augmented View op het Control Display, alsook het Parking Assistant Pack Plus.

Het Premium Pack omvat de telefoon met wireless charging, de comforttoegang, de logoprojectie in de buitenspiegels, de automatisch dimmende binnenspiegel en de Adaptive LED Headlights. Het optiegamma omvat daarnaast een automatische airconditioning met twee zones, een panoramisch doorschijnend schuifdak en het HiFi-luidsprekersysteem van harman/kardon.

BMW iDrive met QuickSelect en BMW Digital Premium.

Voor een intuïtieve en handige bediening van de voertuigfuncties is de BMW iDrive op basis van het BMW Operating System 9 beschikbaar in de nieuwe BMW 2 Reeks Gran Coupé. QuickSelect maakt het mogelijk om alle belangrijke functies van de wagen rechtstreeks te openen zonder naar een submenu te hoeven gaan. Dat betekent dat de cockpit van de nieuwe BMW 2 Reeks Gran Coupé consequent is ontworpen met het oog op een multimodale bediening met aanraakfuncties, Voice Control en multifunctionele toetsen op het stuur.

De BMW ConnectedDrive Upgrades stellen klanten in staat om voor een bepaalde periode bepaalde voertuigfuncties toe te voegen. De nieuwe BMW Digital Premium is ook verkrijgbaar voor de nieuwe BMW 2 Reeks Gran Coupé in de BMW ConnectedDrive Store. Deze upgrade biedt landspecifieke entertainmentdiensten zoals muziek- en videostreaming, nieuws en games, bijkomende My Modes en geavanceerde navigatiefuncties zoals satellietweergave en 3D-gebouwweergave, alsook het nieuwe Curve-Ahead View in combinatie met het BMW Head-Up Display.

Remote Software Upgrades maken het mogelijk om gratis kwaliteitsverbeteringen en extra functies ‘over the air’ naar de wagen te downloaden. Smartphone-integratie met Apple CarPlay en Android Auto is standaard in de nieuwe BMW 2 Reeks Gran Coupé. Met BMW ID en de My BMW App kunnen gebruikers hun gebruikerservaring personaliseren, terwijl het met de optionele BMW Digital Key Plus mogelijk wordt om compatibele smartphones en smartwatches als autosleutel te gebruiken.

Alle cijfers met betrekking tot rijprestaties, brandstofverbruik en emissies zijn onder voorbehoud.

Alle beschreven modelvarianten, uitrustingsniveaus, technische specificaties, verbruiks- en emissiewaarden komen overeen met de modellen die op de Duitse automarkt beschikbaar zijn. De afmetingen gelden voor een wagen in basisuitvoering in Duitsland, naargelang de gekozen velg- en bandenmaat en de gekozen optionele uitrusting. Die kunnen veranderen naargelang de configuratie van de wagen.

De gegevens over brandstofverbruik, CO₂-emissies en elektriciteitsverbruik werden berekend op basis van de voorgeschreven testprocedure (EU) 715/2007 in de geldende versie. Wanneer het rijbereik wordt weergegeven, houden de WLTP-cijfers rekening met de impact van eventuele opties.

Met zijn compacte proporties, scherper design, krachtige motoren en nu standaard M sportophanging biedt de nieuwe BMW 2 Reeks Coupé een emotionelere rijervaring dan ooit. Het tweedeursmodel treedt daarmee in de voetsporen van de legendarische BMW 02 Reeks, die in de jaren 1960 al werd beschouwd als het toppunt van rijplezier. Het motorengamma omvat uiterst efficiënte viercilinder benzine- en dieselmotoren, die hun vermogen overbrengen op de weg via een achtversnellingsbak Steptronic en klassieke achterwielaandrijving, evenals een zescilinder-in-lijn motor in de nieuwe BMW M240i xDrive Coupé, die uniek is in vergelijking met zijn concurrenten (gecombineerd brandstofverbruik: 8,8 – 8,1 l/100 km; gecombineerde CO₂-uitstoot: 200 – 185 g/km volgens de WLTP-cyclus; CO₂-klasse: G).

De nieuwe BMW 2 Reeks Coupé wordt in augustus 2024 op de markt gebracht. Hij zal worden gebouwd in de fabriek van de BMW Group in San Luis Potosí, Mexico, waar ook de nieuwe BMW 3 Reeks Berline met verbrandingsmotor en plug-in-hybrideaandrijving wordt gemaakt. De fabriek, die in 2019 werd geopend, beschikt over bijzonder efficiënte en duurzame productieprocessen.

Verfrissende designaccenten, M Sportpakket nu standaard.

De afmetingen, de koetswerkstructuur, het aandrijfconcept en de chassistechnologie van de BMW 2 Reeks Coupé zijn ontworpen om het typische rijplezier van het merk in een bijzonder geconcentreerde vorm over te brengen. De opvallende voorkant met individuele ronde koplampen, het horizontale BMW radiatorrooster en de power dome op de lange motorkap, de atletisch vormgegeven zijoppervlakken, de brede wielkasten en de korte kofferklep die in een opvallende luchthapper eindigt, geven de BMW 2 Reeks Coupé een onmiskenbare look. Met de designkenmerken van het M Sportpakket dat nu standaard is, drukt de nieuwe editie van het compacte tweedeursmodel zijn dynamische karakter nog intensiever uit. Het specifieke M design omvat extra grote luchtinlaten vooraan, krachtige zijschorten en een opvallende achterschort met verticale reflectoren en een diffusorachtig inzetstuk.

Aan de voorkant van de nieuwe BMW 2 Reeks Coupé is de rand rond het BMW radiatorrooster nu afgewerkt in Perlglanz Chrom. De zijschorten en het onderste deel van de achterschort zijn niet langer zwart gelakt, maar in de kleur van de wagen. Het diffusorinzetstuk is afgewerkt in Schwarz hochglänzend voor een contrasterend effect achteraan.

De BMW M240i xDrive Coupé heeft een eigen versie van de M specifieke designkenmerken. Die optimaliseren de aanvoer van koellucht en de aerodynamische balans. Het gaat o.a. om de inzetstukken in Schwarz hochglänzend voor de zijdelingse luchtinlaten, de zwarte spoilerlip op de voorschort, de modelspecifieke achterspoiler en de trapeziumvormige uitlaatpijpen links en rechts van de achterschort. De buitenspiegelbehuizingen van dit BMW M model zijn nu in Schwarz hochglänzend afgewerkt.

M Shadow Line hochglänzend maakt nu ook deel uit van de standaarduitrusting voor zowel de nieuwe BMW M240i xDrive Coupé als alle andere modellen. Het M Sport Pack Pro, dat als optie verkrijgbaar is voor alle varianten van de nieuwe BMW 2 Reeks Coupé, vult het dynamische koetswerkdesign aan met M lights Shadow Line, een M achterspoiler in Saphirschwarz en de M Shadow Line hochglänzend met bijkomende elementen. Er zijn ook M sportremmen met roodgelakte remklauwen en M veiligheidsgordels.

Nieuwe lakafwerkingen en lichtmetalen velgen.

De koetswerkkleuren van de nieuwe BMW 2 Reeks Coupé omvatten twee niet-metaalkleuren en zeven metaalkleuren. De twee BMW Individual lakkleuren Frozen Pure Grey metallic en Frozen Portimao Blue metallic zijn eveneens verkrijgbaar. De metaalkleuren Fire Red en Skyscraper Grey zijn voor het eerst verkrijgbaar voor het tweedeursmodel. De niet-metaalkleur Zandvoort Blue is nu exclusief verkrijgbaar voor de BMW M240i xDrive Coupé.

Alle modelvarianten van de nieuwe BMW 2 Reeks Coupé zijn standaard uitgerust met BMW M 18" (BMW M240i xDrive Coupé: 19") lichtmetalen velgen: BMW M 19" lichtmetalen velgen, dubbelspaak met Bicolor-afwerking. Nieuwe BMW M 19" lichtmetalen velgen, dubbelspaak zijn als optie verkrijgbaar, in Jetblack of in Bicolor-afwerking. Het BMW Individual gamma omvat ook nieuwe 19" lichtmetalen velgen, Y-spaak in Bicolor-afwerking. Alle BMW 19" lichtmetalen velgen worden gecombineerd met verschillende bandentypes.

Nieuwe accenten van sportiviteit en digitalisering in het interieur.

Meer dan ooit biedt het interieur van de BMW 2 Reeks Coupé de ideale sfeer voor een intense rijervaring met vier zitplaatsen. De daklijn achteraan, de hoge middenconsole en de harmonieus gecombineerde oppervlakken van het instrumentenbord en de deurpanelen creëren een omhullend gevoel van ruimte. Dat wordt nog versterkt door de hemelbekleding in Anthrazit, die deel uitmaakt van het M Sportpakket.

De aanpassingen aan het interieur zijn ook gericht op digitalisering. Het BMW Curved Display speelt een steeds belangrijkere rol in de intuïtieve bediening van de functies van de wagen. Het volledig digitale weergavesysteem bestaat uit een Info Display van 12,3" en een Control Display van 14,9". Het fungeert als platform voor de verder ontwikkelde BMW iDrive met QuickSelect op basis van het BMW Operating System 8.5. Dat betekent dat de automatische airconditioning en, indien aanwezig, de zetel- en stuurverwarming kunnen worden bediend met een druk op het Control Display of met gesproken commando’s. Dit gaat gepaard met een verdere vermindering van het aantal knoppen en bedieningselementen in de cockpit en een bijbehorend nieuw ontwerp van het instrumentenbord. Nieuwe bedieningsknoppen op de ventilatieroosters in het midden van het dashboard en aan de bestuurders- en passagierszijde maken het mogelijk om de richting van de luchtstroom in te stellen door te draaien en te kantelen.

De standaard sfeerverlichting in de nieuwe BMW 2 Reeks Coupé omvat ook een nieuwe watervalverlichting in de afdekkingen van de centrale ventilatieroosters. De kleur en helderheid van de watervalverlichting kan worden aangepast aan individuele voorkeuren, met negen kleurschema’s om uit te kiezen. De individuele kleur- en helderheidsinstellingen worden in een profiel opgeslagen. Ze bepalen ook de verlichting in de voetruimte, het opbergvak vooraan in de middenconsole en de contouren van de deurpanelen. De waaier aan interieurverlichtingsfuncties omvat ook een sfeervolle welkom- en afscheidsanimatie, inclusief een lichttapijt in de instapzone en lichtsignalen om binnenkomende oproepen aan te geven en, als optie, een open deur.

Nieuwe stuurwielen, zeteloppervlakken en decoratieve lijsten.

De nieuwe BMW 2 Reeks Coupé wordt standaard geleverd met een lederen M stuur. De nieuwe versie heeft een onderaan afgevlakte stuurkrans, nauwkeurig aangepaste spaken en discrete middenmarkeringen. De sportieve sfeer van het interieur wordt ook benadrukt door een rode middenmarkering op 12 uur en contrasterende stiknaden in de kleuren van BMW M GmbH. Standaard verwarmde sportzetels voor bestuurder en voorpassagier dragen bij tot de intense rijervaring in de nieuwe BMW 2 Reeks Coupé. Als optie zijn een elektrisch bedienbare verstelmogelijkheden beschikbaar, waaronder een geheugenfunctie aan bestuurderszijde en een lendensteun. De M sportzetels, die ook als optie verkrijgbaar zijn, bieden een brede waaier aan verstelmogelijkheden met een druk op de knop, evenals een lendensteun en deels geïntegreerde hoofdsteunen. Met hun kuipzetelkarakter en in de breedte verstelbare rugleuning bieden ze een optimale zijdelingse steun in dynamische bochten. De contouren van de achterzetels en hun geïntegreerde hoofdsteunen geven hen een opvallend individueel karakter.

De nieuwe zwarte M Performtex-zetels vormen het toppunt van vooruitstrevende sportiviteit. Ze zijn standaard op alle modelversies van de nieuwe BMW 2 Reeks Coupé. Deze innovatieve veloursbekleding combineert hoogwaardige materialen met een sportief design, een laag gewicht en een duurzame productiemethode. De optionele geperforeerde Sensatec-bekleding is nu verkrijgbaar in Schwarz en Cognac, naast de nieuwe Tacorarot-versie met decoratieve stiksels. De nieuwe zwarte versie van de lederbekleding Vernasca met rode accenten is ook als optie verkrijgbaar.

Het gamma optionele decoratieve lijsten voor de nieuwe BMW 2 Reeks Coupé omvat ook enkele aantrekkelijke aanvullingen. Als alternatief voor de standaard lijsten in Aluminium Rhombus Anthrazit zijn nu de edelhoutuitvoeringen Fineline hell openporig en Esche Graublau openporig verkrijgbaar, naast de M decoratieve lijsten in Carbon Fibre. Bijkomende opties om de luxueuze sfeer van het interieur nog exclusiever te personaliseren worden mogelijk gemaakt door nieuwe optionele uitrusting. De glasafwerkingen “CraftedClarity” geven de versnellingspook, de BMW Controller en de start-/stopknop een bijzonder hoogwaardige uitstraling.

Krachtige en efficiënte motoren, M sportophanging standaard.

De aandrijving van de nieuwe BMW 2 Reeks Coupé met de 3,0 liter grote zescilinder-in-lijn aan de top van het gamma neemt een unieke positie in tussen zijn concurrenten. Met behulp van intelligente vierwielaandrijving brengt de 275 kW/374 pk sterke motor zijn vermogen op een bijzonder zelfverzekerde en dynamische manier over op de weg, waardoor de BMW M240i xDrive Coupé in 4,3 seconden van 0 naar 100 km/u sprint.

Naast de zescilinder-in-lijn van het BMW M model is de nieuwe BMW 2 Reeks Coupé verkrijgbaar met nog drie viercilinder benzinemotoren en een 2,0-liter-dieselmotor. Het instapmodel is de nieuwe BMW 218i Coupé (gecombineerd brandstofverbruik: 7,1 – 6,5 l/100 km; gecombineerde CO₂-uitstoot: 160 – 147 g/km volgens de WLTP-cyclus; CO₂-klassen: F – E), die wordt aangedreven door een 115 kW/156 pk sterke benzinemotor en in 8,7 seconden vanuit stilstand naar 100 km/u sprint.

Dan is er de nieuwe BMW 220i Coupé (gecombineerd brandstofverbruik: 6,9 – 6,4 l/100 km; gecombineerde CO₂-uitstoot: 158 – 145 g/km volgens de WLTP-cyclus; CO₂-klassen: F – E) met 135 kW/184 pk en een acceleratie van 7,5 seconden. En de nieuwe BMW 230i Coupé (gecombineerd brandstofverbruik: 7,1 – 6,6 l/100 km; gecombineerde CO₂-uitstoot: 162 – 150 g/km volgens de WLTP-cyclus; CO₂-klassen: F – E), waarvan het maximumvermogen van 180 kW/245 pk een standaardsprint in 5,9 seconden mogelijk maakt.

De dieselmotor van de nieuwe BMW 220d Coupé biedt een speciale combinatie van trekkracht en efficiëntie in een sportief tweedeursmodel (gecombineerd brandstofverbruik: 5,4 – 4,9 l/100 km; gecombineerde CO₂-uitstoot: 141 – 129 g/km volgens de WLTP-cyclus; CO₂-klassen: E – D). Hij genereert een maximumvermogen van 140 kW/190 pk en wordt gecombineerd met Mild Hybrid-technologie met 48V-batterij. De in de riemaandrijving geïntegreerde startgenerator ondersteunt de verbrandingsmotor met een bijkomend vermogen van 8 kW/11 pk. Daarmee accelereert de nieuwe BMW 220d Coupé in 6,9 seconden vanuit stilstand naar 100 km/u.

Alle motoren worden gekoppeld aan een 8-versnellingsbak Steptronic. De nieuwe versie van het compacte tweedeursmodel is niet alleen standaard verkrijgbaar als BMW M240i xDrive Coupé, maar ook als BMW 230i Coupé, BMW 220i Coupé en BMW 220d Coupé met de 8-traps sportversnellingsbak Steptronic. Hij versterkt de sportieve rijervaring met een verbeterde schakeldynamiek en schakelpaddles aan het stuur.

De Sprint-functie is ook beschikbaar voor bijzonder dynamische acceleraties. Zodra de bestuurder minstens één seconde aan de linkse schakelpaddle trekt, schakelt de wagen terug naar de laagst beschikbare versnelling. Tegelijk wordt de rijmodus SPORT geactiveerd met de juiste instellingen voor alle aandrijf- en ophangingssystemen. Deze moduswijziging wordt nu ook weergegeven door de overeenkomstige graphics op het Info Display.

De M sportophanging, die standaard is op de viercilindermodellen van de nieuwe BMW 2 Reeks Coupé, zorgt met zijn stugge ophangingsafstelling en slagafhankelijke schokdempers voor een merkbaar grotere wendbaarheid en bochtendynamiek. Ze wordt aangevuld met een Variable Sport Steering-systeem met een stuurhoekafhankelijke verhouding. De nieuwe BMW M240i xDrive Coupé is optioneel verkrijgbaar met adaptieve M sportophanging, inclusief Variable Sport Steering. De elektronisch gestuurde schokdempers bieden drie karakteristieke afstellingen, die naargelang de gekozen rijmodus ingeschakeld kunnen worden. De BMW M wagen is standaard uitgerust met een M sportdifferentieel in de eindaandrijving en M sportremmen, die ook als optie verkrijgbaar zijn voor de andere modelvarianten.

Intuïtieve bediening, innovatieve digitale diensten: BMW Operating System 8.5 en BMW iDrive met QuickSelect.

In de nieuwe versie van de BMW 2 Reeks Coupé vormt het BMW Operating System 8.5 de basis voor een bijzonder intuïtieve en gemakkelijke bediening via de verbeterde BMW iDrive met QuickSelect en het gebruik van innovatieve digitale diensten. Het systeem is nu nog consistenter en kan via de aanraakfunctie op het Control Display en in natuurlijke taal worden bediend via de BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant. De huidige versie van BMW iDrive heeft een nieuw startscherm dat de kaartweergave van het navigatiesysteem of een ander individueel instelbaar scherm permanent weergeeft op een groot oppervlak. Langs de bestuurderskant worden widgets op hetzelfde niveau weergegeven in een verticale balk. Die kunnen rechtstreeks worden geselecteerd met behulp van de QuickSelect-snelkoppeling zonder naar een submenu te hoeven gaan. De nieuwe, vlakke menustructuur maakt het veel eenvoudiger om tussen de verschillende functies te navigeren en helpt de bestuurder van de nieuwe BMW 2 Reeks Coupé om zich op de verkeerssituatie te concentreren.

De BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant kan nu worden bediend in het Zweeds, Pools en Nederlands. Er is nu keuze uit twee visualisaties voor de digitale reisgezel op het Control Display. Bijkomende grafische symbolen worden daar ook weergegeven als reactie op de gebruikte stemcommando’s.

Het navigatiesysteem BMW Maps, dat standaard is in de nieuwe BMW 2 Reeks Coupé als onderdeel van de BMW Live Cockpit Navigation Plus, is gebaseerd op het BMW Operating System 8.5. Het biedt een nog eenvoudigere invoer van de bestemming, extra informatie tijdens het rijden en verdere optimalisaties voor een snelle en nauwkeurige routegeleiding. In combinatie met de optionele BMW Live Cockpit Navigation Professional wordt het Head-Up Display in kleur aangevuld met de functie Augmented View. Het verbetert de kaartweergave van het navigatiesysteem met contextuele, realtime-informatie. Een live videostream vanuit het gezichtspunt van de bestuurder wordt weergegeven op het Control Display of het Info Display en aangevuld met informatie die op dat moment relevant is, zoals pijlen voor een nauwkeurige routegeleiding.

De nieuwe BMW 2 Reeks Coupé maakt het ook eenvoudiger om de wagen te koppelen aan het BMW ID van de klant en de My BMW App. Klanten kunnen het BMW ID in tal van Europese landen gebruiken om parkeerkosten digitaal te betalen, rechtstreeks vanuit de wagen. Een Personal eSIM kan standaard in de wagen worden geactiveerd. Die werkt met 5G en stelt klanten in staat om de communicatie- en netwerkfuncties van hun gsm-abonnement in de wagen te gebruiken, zelfs als ze hun smartphone niet bij zich hebben. Smartphone-integratie met Apple CarPlay® en Android Auto™ is eveneens standaard.

Fors uitgebreide standaarduitrusting, gerichte personalisering.

Naast de inhoud van het M Sportpakket biedt de nieuwe BMW 2 Reeks Coupé een brede waaier aan bijkomende standaarduitrusting om het rijplezier te verhogen. Het gaat o.a. om verwarmbare voorzetels, het buitenspiegelpakket en het alarmsysteem. De nieuwe BMW M240i xDrive Coupé is ook standaard uitgerust met zonnewerend glas.

Bovendien werd de waaier aan standaardsystemen voor semiautonoom rijden en parkeren uitgebreid. In de nieuwe BMW 2 Reeks Coupé neemt het Parking Assistant Pack alle acceleratie-, rem-, stuur- en schakeltaken over tijdens het parkeren. De mogelijke functies omvatten ook Park Distance Control met sensoren voor- en achteraan en Reversing Assistant. Andere standaardvoorzieningen zijn de botswaarschuwing vooraan, Lane Departure Warning, Cruise Control met remfunctie en de Speed Limit Info, die verkeersborden herkent en een inhaalverbod weergeeft.

Optionele systemen zijn onder meer Driving Assistant Pack, Active Cruise Control met Stop&Go functie en het Parking Assistant Pack Plus. De mogelijke opties omvatten ook High Beam Assist, de BMW Drive Recorder, een elektrisch bediend glazen zonnedak, een aanhangwagenkoppeling met afneembare bol, het Harman Kardon Surround Sound System en accentoppervlakken voor de deurbekleding in de kleuren van BMW M GmbH.

Er zijn nieuwe uitrustingspakketten beschikbaar voor een gerichte personalisering. Voor het eerst is er voor de nieuwe BMW 2 Reeks Coupé een Premium Pack beschikbaar met comforttoegang, Adaptive LED Headlights en een draadloos laadoppervlak om compatibele smartphones draadloos op te laden. Het nieuwe Innovation Pack omvat nu de opties Driving Assistant Pack en Parking Assistant Pack Plus en de BMW Live Cockpit Navigation Professional met Head-Up Display.

Het gamma omvat ook het modelspecifieke M Technical Pack voor de BMW M240i Coupé. Met een geoptimaliseerd koelsysteem voor de motor, de koeling van de inlaatlucht en grotere remschijven voor de M sportremmen creëert het de ideale omstandigheden voor opwindende prestaties op het circuit.

Alle prestatie-, verbruiks- en emissiecijfers zijn voorlopig.

Alle beschreven modelvarianten, uitrustingsniveaus, technische specificaties, verbruiks- en emissiewaarden komen overeen met de modellen die op de Duitse automarkt beschikbaar zijn, op voorwaarde dat het voertuig in kwestie daar wordt aangeboden. De informatie over de afmetingen heeft betrekking op een voertuig in basisuitvoering in Duitsland, naargelang de gekozen velg- en bandenmaat en de gekozen optionele uitrusting. Die kunnen veranderen naargelang de configuratie van de wagen.

De gegevens over brandstofverbruik, CO2-emissie, stroomverbruik en elektrisch rijbereik werden berekend op basis van de voorgeschreven testprocedure VO (EU) 2007/715 in de geldende versie. Wanneer het rijbereik wordt weergegeven, houden de WLTP-cijfers rekening met de impact van eventuele opties.

Munich. The current new editions of the BMW X1 and the BMW 2 Series Active Tourer are characterised by offering versatile driving pleasure. The fact that the progress associated with the generation change also leads to an increase in active and passive safety has now been confirmed in the European New Car Assessment Programme (Euro NCAP). The independent safety experts of the European Consumer Protection Institute awarded both the Sports Activity Vehicle (SAV) and the modern all-rounder in the premium compact segment the highest rating of 5 stars. In the demanding test procedure, the new BMW X1 and the new BMW 2 Series Active Tourer stood out thanks to their excellent occupant protection in collisions of various types, effective protection for pedestrians and cyclists, as well as effective accident avoidance systems.

The extensive standard equipment featuring safety-relevant driver assistance systems decisively contributed to the 5-star rating. Above all, the latest generation of front collision warning with braking function provides an additional plus in safety in urban traffic. It can now also detect pedestrians and cyclists approaching parallel to the lane from behind or in front when turning right, effectively helping to avoid a collision with weaker road users. In addition, the new system warns of oncoming traffic when turning left. All of the driver assistance systems used in the new BMW X1 and the new BMW 2 Series Active Tourer are among the best on the market and impressed the Euro NCAP safety experts with their range of functions and reliable level of response.

The new BMW X1 and the new BMW 2 Series Active Tourer convinced the experts with their innovative systems in the area of passive safety. Both models feature a centre airbag between the driver and front passenger seats as standard. This system, used for the first time in BMW models in the compact segment, was rated to be extremely effective in the test. It is the latest component of the BMW integrated safety concept, which is being advanced constantly and which, in addition to highly resilient support structures and precisely designed deformation paths, also includes a model-specific combination of precisely coordinated restraint systems.

In various collision tests, this integrated safety concept proved to guarantee a high level of protection against injury at all times in both models, regardless of the size and seating position of the occupants.  In both the front and rear seats, the headrests and seats of the new BMW X1 and the new BMW 2 Series Active Tourer effectively protect against cervical injuries that can be triggered by a rear-end collision, according to Euro NCAP. In addition, the test experts highlighted the standard equipment featured by both models with the intelligent emergency call and an emergency braking system for avoiding secondary collisions.

To reduce the risk of injury to pedestrians and cyclists, the new BMW X1 and new BMW 2 Series Active Tourer feature active engine compartment lids. In the event of an impact, the engine compartment lids are raised by means of pyrotechnic actuators to create additional deformation space between them and the hard components underneath. The system proved to be reliable and effective at different speeds in the Euro NCAP safety test.

The ratings of the Euro NCAP testing institute are a benchmark for accident safety recognised Europe-wide and the safety level is being raised constantly. Only new vehicles that offer excellent impact protection and are also well equipped with comprehensive and practical technology for accident avoidance receive the highest rating of 5 stars.

Leipzig. BMW Group Plant Leipzig is launching series production of the second generation of the BMW 2 Series Active Tourer. Having first reached dealerships almost seven years ago, in the autumn of 2014, the BMW 2 Series Active Tourer was quick to establish itself in the market. More than 400,000 customers have since opted to buy the premium compact, which combines functional spaciousness with a dynamic drive concept. More than 368,000 of the vehicles concerned were manufactured in Leipzig. The successor of the sporty all-rounder will be made in Leipzig only.

“After the successful debut of the first-generation BMW 2 Series Active Tourer, BMW Group Plant Leipzig is proud to produce its completely redesigned successor,” emphasised Plant Director Hans-Peter Kemser. “This vehicle is another opportunity for us to prove our wealth of experience and expertise in the manufacture of front-wheel drives in the BMW production network. The BMW 2 Series Active Tourer will also keep our plant running at capacity over the longer term.”

The key characteristics of the latest model generation are its extremely dynamic styling, clear design language and redesigned interior. In addition, the new BMW 2 Series Active Tourer takes mild hybrid technology into the compact class for the very first time, along with the latest connectivity features and extended equipment packages.

BMW 2 Series Active Tourer sets new standards

Making its debut back in 2014, the BMW 2 Series Active Tourer caused a revolution in the BMW product portfolio. Not only did it establish the Sports Activity Tourer segment, it was also the first front-wheel drive BMW. With its functional space concept, three-cylinder engines – a first for BMW at the time – and cutting-edge front-wheel drive, the newcomer offered all the dynamism of a BMW and heralded a new era for the brand.

The second-generation BMW 2 Series Active Tourer sets standards once again. A pioneer, it paves the way for the forthcoming BMW and MINI models joining the compact segment over the coming years. Aspects such as the enhancements to the drivetrain and cockpit, and the new onboard network – now found in petrol and diesel-powered BMW 2 Series Active Tourer – all set new standards.

Seamless integration into production processes

Renowned for its extreme flexibility, Plant Leipzig had previously been entrusted with the manufacture of the BMW Group’s first electrified models – the BMW i3 and BMW i8. It is now the plant of choice once again, for the launch of this new vehicle concept. Despite the new requirements, only minor adjustments had to be made to the paintshop and assembly systems, and the only new production area was introduced into the bodyshop.

The second generation of the BMW 2 Series Active Tourer has now been integrated into production just as seamlessly and will roll off Leipzig’s production lines along with the BMW 1 Series and BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe.

Dynamic design and updated interior

In terms of exterior design, the new BMW 2 Series Active Tourer now exudes even more sportiness and self-assurance, thanks to its dynamically elongated proportions and the clear, reduced treatment of its surfaces.

Inside, it offers a completely new sense of space. The interior has been fully redesigned, taking its cues from the fully electric technology flagship, the BMW iX. Particularly striking are the BMW Curved Display, the ‘floating’ armrest with its integrated control panel, and the slim instrument panel. Thanks to these features, the BMW 2 Series Active Tourer is the first non-electric BMW to have the cockpit layout of an electric one.

Another first in the latest BMW 2 Series Active Tourer is the new BMW iDrive, which makes its debut appearance in the premium compact segment. The latest generation of the iDrive control system is based on BMW Operating System 8.

The second-generation BMW 2 Series Active Tourer designed to accommodate combustion engines as well as electrified drive systems, and just a few months after market launch in summer 2022, two plug-in hybrids will be added to the range.

The BMW 2 Series Active Tourer is due for market launch in Germany on 26 February 2022.

Its uncomplicated functionality, progressive character profile and range of standard equipment – which comfortably exceeds that of the predecessor model and stands out against its rivals – make the new BMW 2 Series Active Tourer a particularly attractive proposition for active, lifestyle-oriented target groups. Four model variants with front-wheel drive and outputs ranging from 100 kW/136 hp to 160 kW/218 hp will be available at launch in February 2022. The new model will be built at BMW Group Plant Leipzig and its vehicle architecture is designed to accommodate both combustion engines and electrified drive systems. Two plug-in hybrid models will be added to the line-up a few months after launch.

Design: modern crossover character, striking front end, dynamically stretched proportions.
The exterior design of the new BMW 2 Series Active Tourer brings lifestyle attributes and aesthetic sophistication together into a modern crossover character profile. The clean, reduced surface treatment exudes sporting prowess and assured presence. At the front end of the car, these qualities are expressed most prominently by the striking BMW kidney grille, with its increased dimensions, and the slim contours of the headlights. The new BMW 2 Series Active Tourer comes as standard with full-LED headlights. Adaptive LED Headlights with cornering light function, non-dazzling matrix high beam, urban lights, a motorway beam pattern and bad weather light are on the options list.

Much more heavily raked A-pillars compared to the predecessor model, a stretched side window graphic, flush-fitting door handles and slim C-pillars also play their part in the new car’s dynamic silhouette. The newly designed door shoulders around the A-pillars create much improved all-round visibility. With its broad shoulders and slim LED light units, the rear of the new BMW 2 Series Active Tourer cuts a particularly muscular figure. The exhaust tailpipes are integrated into the rear apron out of sight on all model variants.

Depending on the model variant, 16-inch or 17-inch light-alloy wheels are fitted as standard. Light-alloy wheels up to 19 inches in size are available as an option. The new BMW 2 Series Active Tourer can also be ordered in Luxury Line trim or with an M Sport package as alternatives to basic specification. Two non-metallic and nine metallic paint finishes are available for the exterior.

Progressive premium ambience and wide-ranging interior functionality.
The size and versatility of the new BMW 2 Series Active Tourer’s interior are emphasised by the fundamental redesign introduced by the second-generation car. The cabin geometry and a host of details take their cues from the interior concept of the BMW iX technology flagship. This creates a progressive premium ambience, the key features of which include the slim instrument panel, the BMW Curved Display, the “floating” armrest with integrated control panel and an across-the-board reduction in the number of physical control elements.

The space underneath the armrest is used as a storage compartment, while the area in front of it houses generously sized cup holders and a newly designed smartphone slot. The phone remains visible to the driver and front passenger here and can be wirelessly charged as an option.

The new BMW 2 Series Active Tourer offers occupants in its five seats noticeably better long-distance comfort that of its predecessor. The newly developed, multi-adjustable seats can also be ordered in optional Sensatec perforated or Vernasca leather. Also on the options list are sport seats with prominent bolsters and shoulder areas, electric seat adjustment (including memory function), lumbar support and a massage function. Acoustic comfort and occupant protection have been stepped up too. Indeed, a new interaction airbag between the driver and front passenger is added to the integrated passive safety concept.

An array of storage areas and the multi-adjustable rear seats also contribute to the car’s uncomplicated functionality in everyday use and on longer tips away. With the rear backrests in their cargo position, boot capacity increases by as much as 90 litres. The rear seats can also slide forwards by up to 13 centimetres. This and the 40 : 20 : 40 split/folding rear seat backrests present customers with a load compartment that can be used for a multitude of purposes. Boot capacity is 470 –1,455 litres in the BMW 218i Active Tourer and BMW 218d Active Tourer and 415 – 1,405 litres in the BMW 220i Active Tourer and BMW 223i Active Tourer. Automatic tailgate operation comes as standard, while an electrically operated trailer tow hitch can be ordered as an option.

Two-zone automatic climate control, sports steering wheel and BMW Maps as standard.
The progressive premium character of the new BMW 2 Series Active Tourer is also underscored by its extensive standard specification. Fitted as standard alongside the BMW Maps navigation system are four USB-C ports and a 12V power socket in both the centre console and the boot, intelligent two-zone automatic climate control, a Sport leather steering wheel, a rain sensor with windscreen wiper control and automatic headlight activation, a much larger number of driver assistance systems compared with the predecessor model, and Park Assist with Reversing Assist Camera.

Newly structured equipment packages enable extremely specific individualisation of the car. Customers can order high-quality interior trim strips, as well as Sensatec surfaces for the instrument panel and front door shoulders with eye-catching contrast stitching. Other contributors to the premium feel include a mirror package, ambient lighting, a panoramic glass sunroof and a Harman Kardon Sound System.

BMW 2 Series Active Tourer: setting the pace in innovative powertrain technology.
The new BMW 2 Series Active Tourer is also at the vanguard of powertrain technology. The extensively updated combustion engines increase driving pleasure while reducing fuel consumption and emissions, and the latest generation of the seven-speed Steptronic dual-clutch transmission – now standard for all model variants – is likewise extremely efficient. A new version of 48V mild hybrid technology is making its debut in the BMW 223i Active Tourer (fuel consumption: 6.6 – 6.0 litres/100 km [42.8 – 47.1 mpg imp]; CO₂ emissions combined: 149 – 137 g/km in the WLTP test cycle) and BMW 220i Active Tourer (fuel consumption: 6.5 – 5.9 litres/100 km [43.5 – 47.9 mpg imp]; CO₂ emissions combined: 148 – 133 g/km in the WLTP test cycle). The electric motor integrated into the automatic transmission supplements the combustion engine with a power boost now increased to 14 kW/19 hp.

The new BMW 223i Active Tourer has an output of 160 kW/218 hp (generated jointly by the 150 kW/204 hp combustion engine and 14 kW/19 hp electric drive system), and the BMW 220i Active Tourer develops 125 kW/170 hp (generated jointly by the 115 kW/156 hp combustion engine and the 14 kW/19 hp electric drive system). Also available from launch is the 100 kW/136 hp BMW 218i Active Tourer (fuel consumption: 6.8 – 6.2 litres/100 km [41.5 – 45.6 mpg imp]; CO₂ emissions combined: 154 – 140 g/km in the WLTP test cycle).

All the petrol engines feature a new combustion process and a dual injection system. The diesel engine powering the new BMW 218d Active Tourer (fuel consumption: 5.3 – 4.8 litres/100 km [53.3 – 58.9 mpg imp]; CO₂ emissions combined: 138 – 125 g/km in the WLTP test cycle) employs low-friction pistons and two-stage turbocharging with increased efficiency. Maximum output is 110 kW/150 hp.

The line-up will expand further in summer 2022 with the addition of two plug-in hybrid models. These will feature fifth-generation BMW eDrive technology for the first time, enhancing dynamism and giving them a significantly longer electric range.

Sportiness and long-distance comfort in perfect harmony.
The chassis technology in the new BMW 2 Series Active Tourer has been engineered to deliver the brand’s customary sporting flair combined with impressive levels of ride comfort in every situation. With a body construction that reduces weight while increasing rigidity, a long wheelbase, and wider tracks than its predecessor, the car’s basic design provides the ideal blueprint for the job at hand.

Steering precision and agility have been enhanced by targeted updates for the single-joint spring strut axle at the front and the three-link rear axle. The near-actuator wheel slip limitation function included as standard improves both traction and directional stability. The integrated braking system is another new feature, as is the extra, lift-related damping for the front axle. The optional adaptive M suspension includes frequency-selective damping, sport steering and a 15-millimetre drop in ride height.

A fresh variety of systems for automated driving and parking.
The largest selection of systems for automated driving and parking yet offered for a BMW compact-segment model are available for the new edition of the BMW 2 Series Active Tourer. Standard specification includes Cruise Control with brake function, Lane Departure Warning, the Evasion Assistant and front-collision warning. The latter now also reacts to oncoming traffic when turning left and to pedestrians and cyclists and when turning right (in countries where vehicles drive on the right). The Parking Assistant including Reversing Assist Camera and Reversing Assistant also comes as standard. Options include the Steering and Lane Control Assistant, Active Cruise Control with Stop&Go function, Active Navigation, the exit warning function, the BMW Head-Up Display and the Surround View, Remote 3D View, BMW Drive Recorder and Remote Theft Recorder functions.

Existing functions can be improved or expanded by means of Remote Software Upgrades, and customers can also use Functions on Demand to select and import a range of functions at a later stage, such as Driving Assistant Plus including Active Cruise Control with Stop&Go function (availability depends on the hardware fitted in the vehicle and the market conditions).

The new BMW iDrive makes its debut in the premium compact segment.
The new generation of the control/operation system iDrive, included here in a compact-segment model from BMW for the first time, is based on BMW Operating System 8. It links up as standard with the BMW Curved Display – with its state-of-the-art graphics and menu structure – and the BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant with expanded skills range. The BMW Curved Display fully digital screen grouping is formed by a 10.25-inch information display and a control display with a screen diagonal of 10.7 inches. The new BMW iDrive is built around intuitive touch control and voice control.

The new My Modes bring together individually selected vehicle settings with the relevant interior experience worlds. The cloud-based navigation system BMW Maps can be specified as an option with the Augmented View function on the control display. The interior camera allows those on board to take snapshots during a journey and send them to their smartphone. New BMW 2 Series Active Tourer customers can also make use of a Personal eSIM designed to work with the new 5G mobile technology, as well as the BMW ID for individualisation of the user experience and further improved smartphone integration with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Munich. The sales launch of the BMW iX and the BMW i4 in November 2021 marks the beginning of a new era of purely electric premium mobility. In addition to sustainable driving pleasure, the two new models also offer the latest innovations in the field of driver assistance systems and, with the new generation of the BMW iDrive operating system, represent the future of intuitive interaction between driver and vehicle. Parallel to this, the BMW model range will also undergo targeted further development in autumn 2021. Additional drive variants and innovations in the areas of design and digital services increase the diversity and attractiveness of the current range.

The model range of the new BMW 4 Series Convertible will be expanded by three new drive variants from November 2021. In future, an 8-speed Steptronic transmission will be standard equipment for one additional model variant each of the BMW X1 and the BMW X2. New paint finishes are available for the BMW 1 Series, BMW 2 Series Gran Coupé, BMW X2, BMW X3 and BMW X4 models. The functional scope of the My BMW App is complemented by further digital services. The BMW i brand is not only setting trends with its two new models. The pioneer of all-electric premium mobility, the BMW i3, will be offered in a limited Unique Forever Edition from November 2021. And in the BMW iX3, a predictive battery heat management system will optimise the way in which DC fast charging stations will be used in the future.

BMW 4 Series Convertible: Two additional BMW M automobiles and a further all-wheel drive model.
The combination of sporty performance and open-air pleasure in a BMW 4 Series model will be enriched even further in autumn 2021. In the new BMW M 440i Convertible (combined fuel consumption: 8.3 – 7.7 l/100 km according to WLTP; combined CO₂ emissions: 190 - 175 g/km according to WLTP), a 275 kW/374 hp inline 6-cylinder petrol engine with 48-volt mild hybrid technology ensures particularly purist driving pleasure by transferring its power to the rear wheels. An 8-speed Steptronic sports transmission and an M sports differential in the final drive also contribute to the thrilling driving dynamics as standard. This is reflected, among other things, by accerlation from 0 - 100 km/h from standstill in 5.2 seconds.

An inline 6-cylinder diesel engine and the intelligent BMW xDrive all-wheel drive system make the second new BMW M automobile a thrilling open-top drive. With a peak output of 250 kW/340 hp, a maximum torque of 700 Nm and 48-volt mild hybrid technology, the new BMW M440d xDrive Convertible (combined fuel consumption: 6.6 – 6.0 l/100 km according to WLTP; combined CO₂ emissions: 172 - 157 g/km according to WLTP) has impressive pulling power. 5.0 seconds are sufficient for the sprint from 0 to 100 km/h. An 8-speed Steptronic sports transmission and an M sports differential are also standard equipment in this model variant.

In addition, the model range for the open-top four-seater in the premium mid-size segment is expanded to include the new BMW 430i xDrive Convertible (combined fuel consumption: 8.1 – 7.3 l/100 km according to WLTP; combined CO₂ emissions: 183 - 166 g/km according to WLTP). With its 180 kW/245 hp 4-cylinder petrol engine, an 8-speed Steptronic transmission and intelligent all-wheel drive, it accelerates from zero to 100 km/h in 6.3 seconds. The 8-speed Steptronic sports transmission and the M sports differential are optionally available for this model.

BMW X1 xDrive18d and BMW X2 xDrive18d now feature 8-speed Steptronic transmission as standard.
Driving pleasure and comfort will be enhanced in autumn 2021 as the 8-speed Steptronic transmission is included in further model variants of the BMW X1 and BMW X2 as standard. The fast and efficient automatic transmission is characterised by a high level of shifting comfort and a particularly favourable internal efficiency. In future, it will also be available as standard with the 110 kW/150 hp 4-cylinder diesel engine of the BMW X1 xDrive18d models (combined fuel consumption: 6.1 – 5.4 l/100 km according to WLTP; combined CO₂ emissions: 159 – 142 g/km according to WLTP) and the BMW X2 xDrive18d (combined fuel consumption: 6.1 – 5.4 l/100 km according to WLTP; combined CO₂ emissions: 160 - 142 g/km according to WLTP).

With the new drive combination, both models accelerate from zero to 100 km/h in 9.4 seconds. An optional 8-speed Steptronic sports transmission is also available, operated by paddle shifts on the steering wheel.

New paint finishes for numerous model series.
New paint finishes for numerous current BMW models allow for additional customisation opportunities. The Skyscraper Grey metallic variant will be available for the BMW 1 Series, the BMW X2 and the BMW X3 from November 2021. Also new to the range are the BMW Individual paint finishes Frozen Pure Grey metallic for the BMW 1 Series and the BMW 2 Series Gran Coupé, as well as Aventurine Red metallic for the BMW X3 and the BMW X4.

My BMW App with extended range of functions.
Planning travel routes and transferring them to the car, receiving information about the car’ status and live images from its surroundings, arranging service appointments or receiving news from the brand - the My BMW app makes all this possible on the customer's smartphone. It serves as a universal interface for communication between car and customer, the BMW brand and the BMW dealer. The range of functions of the My BMW App will be expanded again in autumn 2021. In future, for example, the images transmitted by the Remote 3D View service will be stored in a gallery, including information about the location and time of the shots. The status of the vehicle's air conditioning and ventilation is now also clearly displayed in the My BMW app.

In addition, the My BMW app now also provides drivers with comprehensive information on the condition of the vehicle's tyres on their smartphone. This new feature helps to minimise the risk of breakdowns and is available for the BMW 1 Series, BMW 3 Series and BMW 4 Series models, the new BMW 2 Series Coupé, the BMW 2 Series Gran Coupé, the BMW Z4 as well as the BMW X5, BMW X6 and BMW X7. The My BMW app displays the wheel-specific values as measured by the tyre pressure system. In addition, the digital tyre diagnosis, which is unique in the competitive environment, can also transmit information about a defect or wear of the tyres via the My BMW app. In the BMW backend, the data from the tyre pressure control system is processed together with the values for temperature and wheel speeds to create a forecast of the remaining life of the tyres. As a supplement to tyre pressure control, indications of tyre damage are also registered.

Intelligent battery heat management for the BMW iX3.
To ensure the fastest and most efficient power feed at DC fast-charging stations, regardless of operating and outside temperatures, the BMW iX3 (combined power consumption: 19.0 - 18.6 L/100 km according to WLTP, 18.5 - 18.9 L/100 km according to NEDC) will be equipped with intelligent thermal management for the high-voltage battery as in the BMW i4 / BMW iX from November 2021. As soon as the active route guidance of the navigation system foresees a stopover at a High Power Charging Station, it already ensures that the battery is automatically preconditioned before arrival.

The appropriate heating or cooling ensures that the high-voltage battery is at the ideal temperature for charging at maximum power on arrival. The thermal management takes into account, among other things, the battery temperature, the remaining range, the predicted charging power and the planned scope of the charging process as part of the overall route calculation.

BMW i3 and BMW i3s in the Unique Forever Edition.
From November 2021, the BMW i3 models (combined electricity consumption: 16.3 - 15.3 L/100 km according to WLTP, 13.1 L/100 km according to NEDC and BMW i3s (combined electricity consumption: 16.6 - 16.3 L/100 km according to WLTP, 14.6 - 14.0 L/100 km according to NEDC) in the Unique Forever Edition. The naming of the new special edition refers to the unique character of the world's first premium automobile designed from the outset for purely electric mobility. The BMW i3 represents a holistic understanding of sustainability not only with its drive system, but also with its particularly lightweight passenger cell made of carbon fibre-reinforced plastic (CFRP) and extensive use of natural and recycled materials in its interior. Eight years after being launched on the market, it is still a globally recognised symbol of locally emission-free urban mobility.

The edition vehicles are characterised by particularly high-grade and exclusive design and equipment features. The two BMW Individual paint finishes, available for the first time for the BMW i3, ensure a stylish appearance. The Aventurine Red metallic variant is combined with an accent in Frozen Grey metallic and the Storm Bay metallic paint finish with an accent in Frozen E-Copper. The interior surfaces of the BMW grille are also finished in the respective accent colour. Other special features include the omission of the trim strip and model lettering on the luggage compartment lid and a black insert for the rear bumper. In the interior of the edition vehicles, the contents of the Suite equipment world - including the Vernasca Dark Truffle leather combination, the leather instrument panel, the fine wood surface in dark matt oak, the leather steering wheel, the Carum grey roof lining and the ambient lighting - are supplemented by specific design elements. The front headrests are embroidered with the words "Unique Forever", the door trim panels in the area of the exterior mirrors bear the inscription "One of 2,000“.

The Unique Forever Edition models are produced in a limited edition of 2,000 units at the BMW plant in Leipzig. Only electricity generated by the wind turbines on the factory premises is used.

De nieuwe BMW 2 Reeks Coupé biedt niet alleen merkbaar meer dynamische kwaliteiten, maar ook een luxueuze interieursfeer die nog meer klasse ademt en baanbrekende innovaties op het gebied van bediening en connectiviteit. De vooruitgang ten opzichte van het vorige model uit zich ook in het sterk uitgebreide gamma rijhulpsystemen.

De nieuwe BMW 2 Reeks Coupé viert op 8 juli 2021 zijn wereldpremière op het Goodwood Festival of Speed in Engeland. De compacte vierzitter zal worden gebouwd in de fabriek van de BMW Group in San Luis Potosí (Mexico). Een prestatiegericht model van BMW M GmbH zal het gamma bij de marktlancering begin 2022 aanvullen. De nieuwe BMW M240i xDrive Coupé (gecombineerd brandstofverbruik: 8,8 – 8,1 l/100 km in de WLTP-cyclus; gecombineerde CO₂-emissie: 200 – 185 g/km in de WLTP-cyclus) gebruikt zijn 275 kW/374 pk sterke zescilinder-in-lijn en zijn intelligente vierwielaandrijving om een zeldzaam emotionele rijervaring te creëren. Klanten kunnen ook opteren voor de varianten met een viercilinder op benzine of diesel, die hun vermogen via de achterwielen op de weg overbrengen.

Voertuigconcept met een focus op sportieve capaciteiten.

De frisse, jeugdige en extraverte uitstraling van de nieuwe BMW 2 Reeks Coupé wordt aangevuld met grondig uitgekiende en perfect uitgebalanceerde rijeigenschappen. Zijn concept staat volledig in het teken van een wendbaar en nauwkeurig controleerbaar weggedrag in zeer dynamische situaties.

Compacte afmetingen, een intelligent lichtgewicht design voor koetswerk en chassis, een tot 12 procent hogere statische torsiestijfheid dan bij het vorige model, een bijna perfecte 50:50-gewichtsverdeling en een geoptimaliseerde stroomlijn creëren de ideale blauwdruk voor een uiterst sportief autokarakter. De wendbaarheid, stuurprecisie en bochtdynamiek van de nieuwe BMW 2 Reeks Coupé betekenen een belangrijke stap voorwaarts ten opzichte van het vorige model. Tegelijk verbeteren het geoptimaliseerde rijcomfort en de geoptimaliseerde akoestiek de capaciteiten van de wagen, zowel in het dagelijkse verkeer als tijdens lange ritten.

Opvallende proporties, atletische vormen.

De buitenafmetingen van de nieuwe compacte sportwagen vormen het ideale uitgangspunt voor een uitstekende rijdynamiek. Zijn lengte van 4.537 millimeter en breedte van 1.838 millimeter gingen met respectievelijk 105 en 64 millimeter omhoog ten opzichte van het vorige model. Wel is de nieuwe wagen 28 millimeter lager, met een totale hoogte van 1.390 millimeter. Andere factoren die bijdragen tot de krachtige en atletische uitstraling van de nieuwe BMW 2 Reeks Coupé zijn de wielbasis, die 51 millimeter langer werd (nu 2.741 millimeter), en de brede sporen. De spoorbreedtes van 1.575 millimeter op de vooras (+ 54 millimeter) en 1.587 millimeter op de achteras (+ 31 millimeter) (BMW M240i xDrive Coupé: +63 millimeter vooraan, +35 millimeter achteraan) zijn ideaal voor een uitstekende bochtdynamiek.

De krachtige proporties van het klassieke drievolumedesign (motorkap, passagierscompartiment en koffer) laten geen twijfel bestaan over het dynamische potentieel van de nieuwe 2 Reeks Coupé. De atletisch gebeitelde oppervlakken en dynamische lijnen, die aansluiten bij de nieuwe designtaal van het merk, geven uiting aan puur rijplezier. En diverse exclusieve designkenmerken onderstrepen het onmiskenbare karakter van de wagen.

Opvallende neus: koplampen en BMW nieren met exclusief design.

Driedimensionale oppervlakken, driehoekige vormen en diagonale lijnen geven de opvallende neus van de nieuwe BMW 2 Reeks Coupé vorm. De uitgesproken wielkasten en gespierde powerdome in het midden van de motorkap spreken boekdelen over de dynamische rijeigenschappen van de 2 Reeks Coupé. De BMW nieren hebben een horizontaal design en de klassieke spijltjes binnenin ruimden plaats voor verticaal geplaatste luchtkleppen. Die worden elektrisch geopend wanneer de motor achter de schermen meer behoefte heeft aan koellucht.

De standaard gemonteerde full-LED-koplampen bevinden zich in de buitenhoeken van de neus en hebben, net als bij de legendarische BMW 02-modellen, een enkele ronde lamp. Als optie zijn Adaptive LED Headlights met de niet-verblindende High Beam Assist BMW Selective Beam leverbaar. Die zijn ook verkrijgbaar in de optionele M Lights Shadow Line-uitvoering met donkerdere inleg.

Scherp gelijnd profiel; krachtige achterkant.

Een lange motorkap, korte overhangen en een naar achteren geplaatst passagierscompartiment – waarvan het achterste deel op krachtig gewelfde wielkasten rust – benadrukken het profiel van de nieuwe BMW 2 Reeks Coupé. De grote glasoppervlakken, de dynamisch aflopende daklijn en het korte kofferdeksel met uitgesproken spoilerlip zijn andere typische kenmerken van het compacte sportmodel. Scherpe lijnen geven de oppervlakken een uitgesproken atletische toets,terwijl de uitgesproken horizontale oppervlakken de krachtige achterzijde structuur geven. De stijlvol verdonkerde achterlichten – op de buitenste hoeken van de achterkant – hebben compacte contouren. Hun oppervlakken worden gevormd door lichtclusters met een driedimensionale sculptuur. Dat is een bijzonder stijlvol uitstalraam voor de LED-technologie die in alle lichtfuncties wordt gebruikt.

Specifieke designkenmerken voor M Sport-modellen en de BMW M240i xDrive Coupé versterken het gevoel van dynamiek.

Sportieve flair en een verfijnde premiumsfeer voor het interieur.

Het op de bestuurder gerichte cockpitdesign en het moderne bedieningspaneel op de middenconsole accentueren de sportieve uitstraling van de nieuwe BMW 2 Reeks Coupé. De standaard gemonteerde sportzetels en het lederen sportstuur dragen eveneens bij tot het meeslepende karakter van de rijervaring. Het spits toelopende achterste deel van de daklijn, de hoge middenconsole en het vloeiende verloop van de oppervlakteafwerking van het instrumentenbord en de deurpanelen creëren een behaaglijk gevoel rond de bestuurder en voorpassagier. En dankzij het individuele karakter van de twee achterzetels genieten ook de achterpassagiers mee van het sportieve rijplezier.

Hoogwaardige materialen en een nauwkeurig vakmanschap verzekeren van hun kant een hoogwaardige sfeer die de sfeer van het vorige model ver overstijgt. Dynamische lijnen brengen structuur in de deurpanelen en de bekleding achteraan. De decoratieve lijsten in de nieuwe versie Dark Graphite matt zijn standaard.

De trapeziumvormige accentoppervlakken boven de armleuningen in de deuren zijn een nieuw designkenmerk. Als de optionele sfeerverlichting wordt besteld, hebben de geperforeerde oppervlakken een stijlvolle achtergrondverlichting.

De nieuwe BMW 2 Reeks Coupé wordt standaard bekleed met stof/Sensatec. De BMW M240i xDrive Coupé en de M Sport-modellen hebben recht op een bekleding in Alcantara/Sensatec, alsook andere specifieke designkenmerken zoals het lederen M stuur en de kniekussentjes op de middenconsole. Opties zijn bekledingen in geperforeerd Sensatec en leder Vernasca. Op de optielijst staan ook elektrisch verstelbare sportzetels (met geheugenfunctie aan bestuurderszijde), M sportzetels met geïntegreerde hoofdsteunen, zetelverwarming en stuurverwarming.

De standaarduitrusting omvat ook akoestisch glas voor de voorruit en een automatische airconditioning met drie zones, terwijl de sfeerverlichting en het Harman Kardon surround sound system tot de opties behoren. Het eveneens optionele doorschijnende schuif- en kanteldak heeft een transparant oppervlak dat in totaal bijna 20 procent groter is dan dat van het vorige model.

De koffer van de nieuwe BMW 2 Reeks Coupé biedt een laadvolume van 390 liter.

Bovendien werd de laaddrempel met 35 millimeter verlaagd ten opzichte van het vorige model. Voor nog meer veelzijdigheid zorgt de achterbank met 40:20:40 neerklapbare rugleuning.

Een verwijderbare trekhaak met een maximaal sleepgewicht van 1.600 kilogram is eveneens als optie verkrijgbaar.

Geavanceerde chassistechnologie met technologieoverdracht van de BMW 4 Reeks.

De uiterst gesofistikeerde chassiscomponenten, die oorspronkelijk voor de modellen van de BMW 4 Reeks werden ontworpen en speciaal voor de nieuwe BMW 2 Reeks Coupé werden aangepast, garanderen een superieur rijgemak. De vooras met twee veerpoten en de achteras met vijf wielarmen werden ontworpen om het gewicht te beperken en tegelijk de stijfheid te verhogen. De standaard gemonteerde liftafhankelijke schokdempers verhogen zowel het sportieve vermogen van de nieuwe wagen als zijn rijcomfort. Naargelang de veerwegen zorgen ze voor extra demping om koetswerkbewegingen onder controle te houden bij grote oneffenheden en om overdreven duiken te voorkomen. Op kleine oneffenheden in het wegdek reageert het systeem dan weer met lage dempingskrachten die een hoog comfortpeil verzekeren.

De M sportophanging, die als optie verkrijgbaar is, biedt een stuggere respons voor de liftafhankelijke schokdempers en veren en omvat ook Variable Sport Steering. Ze vormt de basis voor het modelspecifieke chassis van de nieuwe BMW M240i xDrive Coupé. De topversie van de 2 Reeks Coupé wordt ook standaard geleverd met M sportremmen en een M sportdifferentieel achteraan. Daarnaast is ook de adaptieve M ophanging met elektronisch gestuurde schokdempers als optie verkrijgbaar.

De nieuwe BMW 2 Reeks Coupé wordt standaard geleverd met 17" lichtmetalen velgen. BMW M 18" lichtmetalen velgen met combinatie van verschillende bandentypes voor- en achteraan maken deel uit van de uitvoering M Sport. De nieuwe BMW M240i xDrive Coupé verlaat de fabriek standaard op BMW M 19" lichtmetalen velgen en is eveneens voorzien van een combinatie van verschillende bandentypes. High-performancebanden kunnen als optie worden besteld. Het gamma M Performance Parts omvat bovendien lichtmetalen velgen in maten tot 20".

Ongeëvenaard rijplezier met vier of zes cilinders.

Met een zescilinder-in-lijn motor als kroon op het motorgamma beschikt de nieuwe BMW 2 Reeks Coupé over een krachtbron die zijn gelijke niet kent in zijn klasse. De prestatiekenmerken, de honger naar hoge toeren en de soepelheid van de 3,0-litermotor van de nieuwe BMW M240i xDrive Coupé versterken zijn claim op onovertroffen sportieve prestaties in het compacte luxesegment. Met zijn maximumvermogen van 275 kW/374 pk ontwikkelt hij 25 kW/34 pk meer dan zijn voorganger. Het maximumkoppel bedraagt 500 Nm, genoeg om de nieuwe BMW M240i xDrive Coupé in 4,3 seconden van 0 naar 100 km/u te stuwen.

De BMW 220i Coupé (gecombineerd brandstofverbruik: 6,8 – 6,3 l/100 km in de WLTP-cyclus; gecombineerde CO₂-emissie: 155 – 144 g/km in de WLTP-cyclus) wordt aangedreven door een nieuwe viercilinder benzinemotor met een in de cilinderkop geïntegreerd uitlaatspruitstuk dat de uitstoot verder terugdringt. Met een maximumvermogen van 135 kW/184 pk en een maximumkoppel van 300 Nm sprint de nieuwe BMW 220i Coupé in 7,5 seconden van 0 naar 100 km/u. Een 180 kW/245 pk sterke variant van die nieuwe viercilinder benzinemotor zal worden gemonteerd in de BMW 230i Coupé die in de zomer van 2022 aan het gamma wordt toegevoegd (model nog niet te koop, brandstofverbruik en CO₂-cijfers nog niet beschikbaar).

Een tweetraps turbocompressor en Mild Hybrid-technologie geven de viercilinder dieselmotor in de nieuwe BMW 220d Coupé (gecombineerd brandstofverbruik: 5,1 – 4,7 l/100 km in de WLTP-cyclus; gecombineerde CO₂-emissie: 132 – 122 g/km in de WLTP-cyclus) een duidelijk prestatie- en efficiëntievoordeel ten opzichte van zijn voorganger.

De 2,0-litermotor levert een maximumvermogen van 140 kW/190 pk en een maximumkoppel van 400 Nm. Daarmee sprint de nieuwe BMW 220d Coupé in 6,9 seconden van 0 naar 100 km/u.

Alle motoren worden standaard gekoppeld aan een achtversnellingsbak Steptronic. De optionele achttraps sportversnellingsbak Steptronic (standaard op de BMW M240i xDrive Coupé) schakelt nog scherper. Naast schakelpaddles aan het stuur beschikt hij ook over Launch Control, waarmee de bestuurder de tractie kan optimaliseren bij de start, en over de Sprint-functie, die hij kan worden gebruiken om snelle en uitermate dynamische snelheids- en inhaalmanoeuvres uit te voeren. De achttraps sportversnellingsbak Steptronic maakt deel uit van het M Sport Pack Pro. Deze optie is beschikbaar voor wagens met de uitvoering M Sport en omvat ook BMW M 19" lichtmetalen velgen, M sportremmen, een spoilerlip vooraan en een M achterspoiler.

Sterk uitgebreide keuze aan rijhulpsystemen.

De nieuwe BMW 2 Reeks Coupé verhoogt de veiligheid en het comfort met een aanzienlijk uitgebreide keuze aan rijhulpsystemen in vergelijking met het vorige model. De standaarduitrusting omvat een botswaarschuwing vooraan, Speed Limit Info, Lane Departure Warning en Cruise Control met remfunctie.

Enkele van de optionele systemen zijn Driving Assistant Pack met Lane Change Warning, botswaarschuwing achteraan en Crossing Traffic Warning achteraan, Active Cruise Control met Stop&Go functie (inclusief Speed Limit Assist), Park Distance Control, Reversing Assistant, achteruitrijcamera, Surround View en Remote 3D View.

Nieuw voor de BMW 2 Reeks Coupé zijn het Head-Up Display – dat rijgegevens op de voorruit projecteert – en de BMW Drive Recorder.

Munich. The new BMW 2 Series Coupé is on the final stretch as it heads to the front row of the grid. The final phase of the series development process for the new edition of the BMW 2 Series Coupé has begun with the dynamic testing and tuning of its drive and suspension systems under racetrack conditions. The two-door compact sports car features numerous hallmark ingredients that are unique in the premium compact segment for achieving a sporty and emotional driving experience, which are carefully coordinated during the test drives. This is what underpins this car’s claim to taking pole position in its class. The unique selling points of the new BMW 2 Series Coupé in the competitive environment include the rear-wheel drive setup, an extremely powerful in-line 6-cylinder engine, the almost 50:50 balanced axle load distribution, an extremely torsionally stiff body and chassis technology consistently designed for agile and dynamic driving behaviour.

Sporty driving pleasure in the tradition of the BMW 2002.
The new BMW 2 Series Coupé, which will be manufactured from late summer 2021, is designed for uncompromising sporty driving pleasure. It continues the tradition of the brand's particularly driver-oriented, compact and powerful two-door models, which have been built since the legendary BMW 2002. In terms of power delivery, traction, cornering dynamics and handling precision, the new BMW 2 Series Coupé meets the needs of particularly discerning customers who are enthusiastic about unadulterated sportiness in a compact premium automobile.

During the development of the new BMW 2 Series Coupé, the test and tuning drives on the Nürburgring's Nordschleife serve as the ultimate test for wheel suspension, chassis, damping, steering and braking system. In addition, testing on public country roads around Munich and at the BMW Group test site in Maisach ensure that the dynamic driving qualities of the new BMW 2 Series Coupé can also be experienced in everyday traffic and under different road conditions. By extensively testing all drive and chassis systems, the development and test engineers ensure that the engine's performance characteristics go hand in hand with precisely controllable handling in every situation, fascinating cornering dynamics, optimised traction in all weather and road conditions and perfectly balanced ride comfort. At the same time, the car is fine-tuned to optimise self-steering behaviour and the dynamics when building up lateral acceleration forces. The power transmission to the rear wheels, which is unique in the segment of the new BMW 2 Series Coupé, is ideally suited to sporty, ambitious cornering including easily controllable drift manoeuvres.

BMW M version at the top of the model range.
The new BMW 2 Series Coupé's focus on maximum driving dynamics in the segment is embodied particularly by the BMW M version at the top of the model range. The BMW M240i xDrive Coupé top model (fuel consumption combined: 8.2 l/100 km, combined CO2 emissions: 186 g/km; provisional value according to WLTP) draws its drive torque from an extremely powerful in-line 6-cylinder petrol engine with BMW TwinPower Turbo technology. The drive, which is as spontaneously responsive as it is powerfully thrusty, generates a maximum output of 275 kW/374 hp and is combined with an 8-speed Steptronic Sport transmission. The BMW M model puts its power to the road using the intelligent BMW xDrive all-wheel drive system. The system's rear-wheel oriented design ensures hallmark BMW driving pleasure in conjunction with a power distribution that adapts perfectly to adverse road and weather conditions.

The driving dynamics tests also conducted on the Nürburgring, are ideally suited for refining the interaction of the all-wheel-drive system with the M sports differential in the rear-axle transmission. With a fully variable locking effect generated by an electric motor, the differential aids the new BMW 2 Series Coupé in optimising cornering performance with regard to traction and driving stability. The targeted distribution of power between the rear wheels enables significantly higher lateral acceleration and also a noticeable increase in dynamics when accelerating as you come out of bends.

Vehicle concept designed for driving dynamics.
Regardless of the engine, all model variants of the new BMW 2 Series Coupé benefit from a particularly torsion-resistant body structure. Static torsional stiffness has been increased by around 12 per cent compared to the predecessor model, for example through the use of dynamic driving struts in the rear of the vehicle, which contribute to the exceptionally high agility of the new BMW 2 Series Coupé. In addition, the vehicle concept, which is consistently designed for driving dynamics, offers significantly increased track width at the front and rear axles. This effectively reduces body roll and wheel load fluctuations during sporty cornering.

All model variants of the new BMW 2 Series Coupé are also equipped with stroke-dependent dampers as standard, the fine-tuning of which leads to a noticeably optimised balance between sportiness and ride comfort. They respond sensitively to slight road unevenness and compensate vibrations to optimise comfort. When driving over large bumps, the movements of the body are controlled by correspondingly higher damper forces. An Adaptive M Chassis is offered as an option for the new BMW 2 Series Coupé. Its electronically controlled dampers offer the option of activating the appropriate mapping for both sporty and comfort-oriented driving.

Precise steering, optimised aerodynamic properties.
The new BMW 2 Series Coupé is characterised by effortlessly controllable handling even in highly dynamic driving situations. In addition to the powerful and highly controllable brakes, the precise steering also characterises the handling of the two-door model. In addition to the balanced axle load distribution between the front and rear wheels, the model-specific design of the steering and the particularly high connection stiffness of the support bearings on the front axle contribute to this. Available as an option for the new BMW 2 Series Coupé, Variable Sports Steering combines further optimised precision when steering into bends with reduced steering effort when parking and manoeuvring.

The body design of the new BMW 2 Series Coupé not only reflects the brand's modern, clear and reduced design language. Only visible at second glance, but immediately noticeable during the high-speed test drives at the Nürburgring, the measures that help optimise the aerodynamic properties of the BMW M car in particular. In addition to a model-specific front spoiler lip, front splitter and air curtains, air deflectors, a tank and a rear axle cover as well as the contours of the air-flow-optimised driving dynamics struts on the underbody ensure that lift on the front axle has been reduced by 50 percent compared to the predecessor model.

Munich. The market launch of the BMW M5 CS is the absolute highlight among the innovations that will enrich the BMW model range in spring 2021. The first special model based on the BMW M5 Competition takes on the top position in the BMW M GmbH range in terms of engine power, performance and exclusivity, underlining the brand's close ties with racing. Model diversity in the premium segment of the compact and mid-size class will be expanded from March 2021 with additional drive variants for the BMW 4 Series Coupé and the BMW 2 Series Gran Coupé. What is more, attractive additions to the standard or optionally available equipment in numerous BMW model series enhance driving pleasure, comfort, individuality and safety.

A feature previously only available for high-performance BMW M GmbH automobiles will also be featured on the most powerful variants of the BMW 3 Series Sedan and BMW 4 Series Coupé from March 2021. For the first time, an M carbon fibre roof will be offered for the top models of both model series. Exclusive lightweight components also optimise the driving experience in the BMW M8. Newly developed M Carbon bucket seats will be available as an optional extra for the three high-performance models in the luxury segment from March 2021. The luxury sedans of the BMW 7 Series will be equipped with Integral Active Steering as standard. In addition, a nanoparticle filter will now be a new component of the standard or optional 4-zone automatic air conditioning in the BMW 7 Series and BMW 8 Series as well as in the BMW X5, BMW X6 and BMW X7 models. BMW Individual Shadow Line lights complement the equipment range for the BMW X5 and BMW X6. The BMW News app will be added to the range of digital services for selected BMW models from April 2021.

High-performance sedan with exclusive racing characteristics: The BMW M5 CS.
Following the BMW M3 CS, the BMW M4 CS and the BMW M2 CS, a special model of the BMW M5 will be launched for the first time in March 2021. The most powerful and exclusive version of the high-performance sedan bears the name BMW M5 CS (combined fuel consumption: 11.3 - 10.9 l/100 km (WLTP), 11.3 - 11. 1 l/100 km (NEDC); combined CO2 emissions: 257 - 248 g/km (WLTP), 258 - 253 g/km (NEDC).

The special model is powered by the most powerful engine ever to be used in a BMW M GmbH production vehicle. The V8 engine with BMW M TwinPower Turbo technology generates a maximum output of 467 kW/635 hp and is thus 7 kW/10 hp more powerful than the drive unit in the BMW M5 Competition. Weighing in with 70 kilograms less weight, the BMW M5 CS completes the sprint from a standstill to 100 km/h in 3.0 seconds, beating the BMW M5 Competition by 0.3 seconds.

The racetrack potential of the BMW M5 CS also goes hand in hand with unrestricted suitability for everyday use. In addition to design elements for the exterior in Gold Bronze, standard equipment also features M Carbon seats for the driver and front passenger. In the rear of the BMW M5 CS, two passengers can be seated on individual seats and enjoy the outstanding driving experience.

New in the BMW 4 Series: Inline 6-cylinder diesel engines and exclusive optional extras.
The sporty character of the new BMW 4 Series Coupé will be underlined by an additional BMW M automobile and a further model variant with a particularly powerful engine from March 2021. In both cases, an inline 6-cylinder diesel engine and intelligent all-wheel drive provide efficient driving pleasure. The new BMW M440d xDrive Coupé (combined fuel consumption: 6.3 – 5.7 l/100 km (WLTP), 5.7 - 5.3 l/100 km (NEDC); combined CO2 emissions: 164 - 150 g/km (WLTP), 149 - 140 g/km (NEDC), with its 250 kW/340 hp drive featuring BMW M TwinPower Turbo technology is also combined with an 8-speed Steptronic Sport transmission, an M sports package and an M sports differential. Thanks to the outstanding performance of the 3.0-litre engine and its maximum torque of 700 Nm, the new BMW M440d xDrive Coupé accelerates from zero to 100 km/h in 4.6 seconds.

With a maximum output of 210 kW/286 hp generated from a 3.0 litres of capacity and a maximum torque of 650 Nm, the powerplant of the new BMW 430d xDrive Coupé (combined fuel consumption: 5.9 – 5.2 l/100 km (WLTP), 5.1 - 4.8 l/100 km (NEDC); combined CO2 emissions: 155 - 137 g/km (WLTP), 134 - 126 g/km (NEDC) also enables dynamic acceleration manoeuvres. It takes just 5.1 seconds to accelerate from a standstill to 100 km/h.

In both inline 6-cylinder diesel models, mild hybrid technology with a 48-volt starter generator provides a further increase in dynamics and efficiency. The system enables particularly intensive energy recovery in braking and thrust phases. The energy is stored in a 48-volt battery and used both for the onboard network and to generate additional drive power. The dynamic power delivery when starting off and accelerating is enhanced by the additional power of 8 kW/11 hp spontaneously provided by the 48-volt starter generator. In other load ranges the electric drive can relieve the combustion engine and thus increase its efficiency.

For both the new BMW 4 Series Coupé and the new BMW 4 Series Convertible, the BMW Individual Brilliant White metallic, BMW Individual Frozen Portimao Blue metallic and BMW Individual Frozen Deep Grey metallic exterior paint finishes will also be available from March 2021. The extended BMW Individual Merino leather upholstery or the BMW Individual Merino full leather upholstery will be available in six or four colour variants respectively to ensure exclusive flair in the interior.

Dynamic charisma increased, centre of gravity lowered: M Carbon roof in the BMW 3 Series and BMW 4 Series.
The new BMW M440d xDrive Coupé, just like the BMW M440i xDrive Coupé and the two corresponding top models of the BMW 3 Series Sedan, will add further touches of sporty flair by means of an exclusive lightweight construction feature. The M Carbon roof, available for these four models from March 2021, emphasises dynamic charisma and at the same time lowers the vehicle's centre of gravity further to make it even more agile.

In future, the new interior trims will be available in the M Carbon Fibre version to match. They will also be available for the BMW M440i xDrive Convertible and for all other model variants of the new BMW 3 Series and BMW 4 Series, in each case in conjunction with the M Sport Model equipment.

Additional all-wheel drive model variant for the BMW 2 Series Gran Coupé.
The added traction, driving stability and sportiness associated with intelligent all-wheel drive can be experienced in a further model variant of the BMW 2 Series Gran Coupé from March 2021. The new BMW 220i xDrive Gran Coupé (combined fuel consumption: 7.3 - 6.5 l/100 km (WLTP), 6.4 - 6.1 l/100 km (NEDC); combined CO2 emissions: 165 - 149 g/km (WLTP, 147 - 139 g/km (NEDC), generates 131 kW/178 hp from a 4-cylinder petrol engine, the power being distributed between the front and rear wheels as required. The 7-speed Steptronic transmission with double clutch is in charge of power transmission. With this drive technology, the new BMW 220i xDrive Gran Coupé accelerates from zero to 100 km/h in 7.1 seconds.

The range of optional extras for the BMW 2 Series Gran Coupé will be supplemented by additional light-alloy wheels in spring 2021. 18-inch M light-alloy wheels in Y-spoke design and bicolour finish are new to the range.

BMW 7 Series now features Integral Active Steering as standard.
The superior ride comfort, cornering dynamics and agility of the BMW 7 Series luxury sedans will be enhanced from March 2021 with the help of Integral Active Steering as standard. This system optimises both agility and superior handling at higher speeds as well as comfort when manoeuvring through precisely controlled steering of the rear wheels. The latest version of the Integral Active Steering system triggers counter-steering of the rear wheels even at a particularly low speed of less than 3 km/h. This further enhances the manoeuvrability of the luxury sedans when parking and backing out, as well as when passing slowly through narrow spaces.

Nanoparticle filter as a new component of the 4-zone automatic air conditioning.
In many current BMW models, a nanoparticle filter will be part of the range of functions of the 4-zone automatic air conditioning. The system, which is unique in the competitive environment, is able to remove tiny impurities from the air flowing into the interior. The 4-zone automatic air conditioning with nanoparticle filter is part of the standard equipment in the BMW X7 and is offered as an option for the BMW 7 Series luxury sedans, the BMW 8 Series luxury sports cars and the BMW X5 and BMW X6 models.

BMW Individual Shadow Line lights for the BMW X5 and BMW X6.
The range of optional equipment for the BMW X5 and BMW X6 models is supplemented by the BMW Individual Shadow Line lights. They are available in conjunction with the optional BMW laser light and feature black inlays on the upper edge of the headlights ensuring a particularly expressive front view.

Pure race-track feeling: M Carbon bucket seats in the BMW M8.
A particularly attractive addition to the range of optional extras for the BMW M8 models allows customers to experience the fascinating performance characteristics of the high-performance sports cars even more intensively. M Carbon bucket seats will be available for the BMW M8 Competition Coupé, the BMW M8 Competition Convertible and the BMW M8 Competition Gran Coupé from March 2021. With their novel, structure-based design, visible carbon fibre reinforced plastic (CFRP) surfaces, integrated headrests, openings in the backrests and side sections as well as guides for multi-point seat belts, they combine racing functionality with long-distance comfort and luxurious quality of workmanship.

The M Carbon bucket seats for the driver and front passenger are electrically adjustable for height, tilt and forward/back positioning. In addition, the inclination and width of their backrests can be adjusted at the touch of a button. They feature leather and alcantara seat surfaces and are also heated. Illuminated "M8" lettering on the headrests and a memory function on the driver's side are also part of the equipment package of the M Carbon bucket seats. Their lightweight construction concept leads to a significant weight reduction compared to the standard M sports seats.

Exclusive special equipment for other BMW M automobiles.
The range of optional extras available for numerous other BMW M automobiles will also be expanded in spring 2021. For the BMW M3 Sedan and the BMW M4 Coupé, the new Skyscraper Grey metallic exterior paint finish and the extended BMW Merino leather upholstery are available in a choice of five additional colour variants.

The BMW X5 M Competition and BMW X6 M Competition models can also be equipped with BMW Individual Shadow Line lights in conjunction with the optional BMW laser light from April 2021. New addition to the range of digital services: BMW News app.
The BMW Operating System 7, which is available in conjunction with BMW Live Cockpit, BMW Live Cockpit Plus or BMW Live Cockpit Professional in numerous current BMW models, enables the use of a growing number of digital services. The latest innovations in this area include the BMW News app, which will be available from April 2021 as part of BMW Connected and provides the driver with selected audio content. Munich. Increased efficiency through consistent electrification, optimised emissions and innovations in the areas of driver assistance and digital services are the focus of the model revision measures for numerous BMW model series that will take effect in autumn 2020. From November 2020, all models of the premium brand will meet the requirements of the currently strictest exhaust emission standard Euro 6d. In the BMW 5 Series, the range of plug-in hybrid models has been extended by three new variants. New inline 6-cylinder diesel engines and 48-volt mild hybrid technology lower fuel consumption and emissions of selected models in the BMW 3 Series and BMW 8 Series. In addition, further engines will supplement the drive portfolio of the BMW 1 Series and the BMW 2 Series Gran Coupé.

Efficiency becomes more diverse: World premiere for five plug-in hybrid models in the BMW 5 Series.
The range of BMW models with electrified drive systems will also be consistently expanded in autumn 2020. The expanded range of the following electrified models is especially attractive: BMW 545e xDrive Sedan (fuel consumption combined: 2.3 – 2.2 l/100 km; combined power consumption: 16.3 – 15.8 kWh/100 km; combined CO₂ emissions: 53 – 49 g/km; electric range: 47 – 57 km), BMW 530e Touring (combined fuel consumption: 2.0 – 1.8 l/100 km; combined power consumption: 16.1 – 15.4 kWh/100 km; combined CO₂ emissions: 46 – 42 g/km; electric range: 52 – 57 km (WLTP)) and BMW 530e xDrive Touring (combined fuel consumption: 2.4 – 2.2 l/100 km; combined power consumption: 16.7 – 16.1 kWh/100 km; combined CO₂ emissions: 54 – 50 g/km; electric range: 48 – 53 km (WLTP)). The BMW 5 Series model range now already includes five plug-in hybrid variants. In the upper mid-size class, BMW offers the largest selection of models with electrified drive.

In the new BMW 545e xDrive Sedan, an inline 6-cylinder petrol engine and an electric drive integrated into the 8-speed Steptronic transmission deliver impressive driving dynamics in a particularly efficient manner. The power of the two drive units adds up to a maximum system output of 290 kW/394 hp and is distributed between the front and rear wheels as required by the intelligent BMW xDrive all-wheel drive. The brand’s hallmark combination of energy efficiency and sportiness also characterises the new Touring models, whose plug-in hybrid system consists of a 4-cylinder petrol engine and an electric drive system also integrated into the 8-speed Steptronic transmission. Together they generate a system output of up to 215 kW/292 hp in the XtraBoost mode when load requirements are particularly high.

Increased dynamic performance and reduced fuel consumption: New inline 6-cylinder diesel engines with 48-volt mild hybrid technology in the BMW 3 Series and BMW 8 Series.
With the introduction of 48-volt mild hybrid technology in additional models, BMW continues to consistently reduce fuel consumption and emissions in its current vehicle fleet. This is linked to the introduction of a new generation of inline 6-cylinder diesel engines. As of autumn 2020, four mid-size models of the BMW 3 Series and three luxury sports cars of the BMW 8 Series will offer noticeably more dynamic performance and increased efficiency.

This twofold and BMW typical progress is achieved through further advanced BMW TwinPower Turbo technology and additionally with the aid of a particularly powerful starter generator and an additional battery. The dynamic power delivery when starting off and accelerating is enhanced by the additional power of 8 kW/11 hp spontaneously provided by the 48-volt starter generator. In other load ranges the electric drive can relieve the combustion engine and thus increase its efficiency. The power required for this is generated by intensive recuperation in braking and thrust phases and stored in a 48-volt battery, which also supplies the vehicle’s electrical system.

The 48-volt mild hybrid technology will be used in four further BMW 3 Series models from November 2020. In the new BMW 330d Sedan (combined fuel consumption: 4.7 – 4.4 l/100 km*; combined CO₂ emissions: 125 – 116 g/km*) and the new BMW 330d Xdrive Sedan (combined fuel consumption: 5.0 – 4.7 l/100 km*; combined CO₂ emissions: 132 – 123 g/km*) and the new BMW 330d Touring (combined fuel consumption: 4.8 – 4.5 l/100 km*; combined CO₂ emissions: 128 – 119 g/km*) and the new BMW 330d Xdrive Touring (combined fuel consumption: 5.2 – 4.8 l/100 km*; combined CO₂ emissions: 136 – 127 g/km), it supports the new inline 6-cylinder diesel engine, which already provides additional driving pleasure with its maximum output increased by 15 kW/21 hp to 210 kW/286 hp. Thanks to a two-stage turbocharging system and an advanced common rail injection system whose piezo injectors now inject the fuel with up to ten injections per working cycle and a maximum pressure of 2 700 bar into the combustion chambers, engine response and efficiency of the 3.0 litre engine are optimised. The new diesel engine generates its maximum torque, which has been increased by 30 to 650 Nm, between 1 500 and 2 500 rpm. The increased power of the combustion engine and the additional electrical power noticeably improve the car’s sprint capacity. For example, the new BMW 330d Sedan improves its acceleration from zero to 100 km/h by 0.2 seconds to now 5.3 seconds.

In the BMW 8 Series, 48-volt mild hybrid technology is combined with an equally new and even more powerful 3.0-litre diesel engine. The BMW 840d xDrive Coupé models (fuel consumption combined: 5.8 – 5.6 l/100 km*; combined CO₂ emissions: 154 - 146 g/km), BMW 840d xDrive Convertible (fuel consumption combined: 6.0 – 5.7 l/100 km*; combined CO₂ emissions: 159 – 151 g/km) and BMW 840d xDrive Gran Coupé (combined fuel consumption: 5.9 – 5.6 l/100 km*; combined CO₂ emissions: 155 - 148 g/km) will be powered by a 250 kW/340 hp inline 6-cylinder engine in the future. The 15 kW/20 hp increase in top-level output also results from further advanced BMW TwinPower Turbo technology. It now includes a multi-stage turbocharger with variable turbine geometry for the high-pressure and low-pressure stages. The maximum torque of 700 Nm is generated alreadybetween 1 750 and 2 250 rpm. In the luxury sports car model range, the new drive technology enables the BMW 840d xDrive Coupé, for example, to improve its acceleration figure from a standing start to 100 km/h by 0.1 seconds to 4.8 seconds. The optimised performance characteristics of the diesel engine are accompanied by precisely adapted fine tuning of the chassis and its control systems.

The new diesel engines for the BMW 3 Series and the BMW 8 Series also represent the latest state of the art with regard to emissions. They feature exhaust gas treatment technology, whose engine-proximate components consist of a diesel oxidation catalytic converter and an SCR coating on the diesel particulate filter. In order to optimally reduce nitrogen oxide (NOX) emissions, a second metering unit is additionally integrated at the outlet of the engine-proximate SCR system.

BMW 1 Series, BMW 2 Series Gran Coupé: Additional engines and new optional extras.
New engines will be available from November 2020 for the BMW 1 Series and the BMW 2 Series Gran Coupé. The new BMW 116i (combined fuel consumption: 5.8 – 5.4 l/100 km*; combined CO₂ emissions: 133 – 124 g/km) is powered by a 3-cylinder petrol engine with an output of 80 kW/109 hp and a maximum torque of 190 Nm. It is equipped as standard with a manual 6-speed transmission and accelerates from zero to 100 km/h in 10.6 seconds. A 7-speed Steptronic transmission with double clutch is optionally available. In addition, the model range will be expanded to include the new BMW 120i (fuel consumption combined: 5.8 – 5.5 l/100 km*; combined CO₂ emissions: 134 – 126 g/km). Its 4-cylinder petrol engine generates a maximum output of 131 kW/178 hp and a maximum torque of 280 Nm and is combined as standard with a 7-speed Steptronic transmission with double clutch. The new BMW 120i accelerates from a standing start to 100 km/h in 7.0 seconds.

Outstanding economy is the hallmark of the new entry-level diesel engine for the BMW 2 Series Gran Coupé. The 3-cylinder diesel engine of the new BMW 216d Gran Coupé (fuel consumption combined: 4.1 – 3.8 l/100 km*; combined CO₂ emissions: 108 – 99 g/km) provides a maximum output of 85 kW/116 hp and a maximum torque of 270 Nm. It transmits its power to a 7-speed Steptronic transmission with double clutch as standard and enables acceleration from zero to 100 km/h in 10.3 seconds.

The range of optional equipment for the BMW 1 Series and the BMW 2 Series Gran Coupé is supplemented by the BMW Individual Shadow Line lights. With the black inserts at the upper edge of the headlamps they make the front view even more powerfully expressive.

Urban Cruise Control: Increased comfort and optimised safety when driving in urban traffic.
The increased level of comfort and safety achieved through combined speed and distance control will also be available in numerous current BMW models when driving in city traffic from autumn 2020 onwards. In conjunction with the optional Driving Assistant Professional, the Urban Cruise Control function is available in the BMW 3 Series and BMW 5 Series, the BMW 6 Series Gran Turismo, the BMW 8 Series and the BMW X5, BMW X6, BMW X7, BMW M5, BMW M8, BMW X5 M and BMW X6 M model series. It extends the range of functions of the Active Cruise Control with Stop & Go function by a traffic light recognition function. In addition to vehicles and traffic signs ahead, traffic lights registered by the stereo camera are also taken into account.

In the case of traffic light signals that are clearly related to the lane you are travelling, these are automatically registered by the speed and distance control system. If the traffic light is red, the system decelerates the vehicle to a standstill. A green light signals the continuation of the journey. In a more complex intersection situation where, for example, different light signals apply to different lanes, a traffic light symbol is displayed in the instrument cluster. The driver can then confirm the light signal shown there and continue to use the automatic speed and distance control or control the speed himself. For additional comfort in city traffic there is a drive reminder function. While stationary at a traffic light, the current traffic light phase is displayed in the instrument cluster; at the beginning of the green phase, the driver also receives a signal to start driving.

The Urban Cruise Control function can also be integrated into the car at a later date by means of a Remote Software Upgrade. With the exception of the BMW 8 Series models, this option is available for vehicles of all the above-mentioned series produced from July 2020 onwards and which are equipped with the Driving Assistant Professional.

New digital services for more driving pleasure: BMW News, BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant with new functions, personal profile picture and simple log-in.
The latest generation of the display and control system makes it possible to use new digital services in numerous current BMW models. The BMW Operating System 7, which is available in conjunction with BMW Live Cockpit, BMW Live Cockpit Plus or BMW Live Cockpit Professional, allows the driver to customise what is displayed to a very high degree. From November 2020, audio content will also be tailored to the driver’s wishes and needs with BMW News. Based on the driver’s individual interests, current online news is selected from publisher offerings and broadcast in the form of naturally spoken language via the vehicle's audio system.

The BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant is one of the particularly innovative services that features in current models with BMW Operating System 7. The digital companion, which enables intuitive operation of numerous vehicle functions via voice control (“Hey, BMW”), is constantly gaining new capabilities. From autumn 2020, the operating modes MAX eDrive and AUTO eDrive or ELECTRIC and HYBRID can also be activated in the appropriately equipped plug-in hybrid models by means of a naturally spoken instruction.

Optimised options for creating a driver profile allow further customisation opportunities. From November 2020, the driver can no longer only login by entering the BMW ID manually, but also via the My BMW App as well, making the process very convenient. A QR code generated for this purpose can be displayed on the Control Display, which can be scanned using a smartphone. The personal driver profile data can then be transferred to the vehicle. Also new: The driver can add a photo of his choice to his individual profile.

BMW X1 and BMW X2: New headlamp variants and BMW Individual High Gloss Shadow Line with extended features.
Adaptive LED headlights will be available for the compact BMW X2 Sports Activity Coupé from November 2020. They optimise visibility when driving at night, among other things by means of a high beam matrix function. This feature is able to increase the range of vision while at the same time avoiding any dazzle effect on other road users. To achieve this, the high beam is divided into several LED segments that can be activated and deactivated independently of each other to adapt how the road is illuminated to the respective traffic situation.

In addition, the striking BMW Individual Shadow Line lights are available as a new option for the BMW X2 and the BMW X1. The sporty appearance of the BMW X2 can be further enhanced by the BMW Individual High Gloss Shadow Line with extended features. In addition to the high-gloss black side window surrounds, this option includes a black frame for the BMW kidney grille and tailpipe trims in chrome black.

New paint finishes allow for expressive individualisation.
New additions to the range of paint finishes for numerous models will be introduced in autumn 2020 allowing for even greater levels of individualisation. The new San Remo Green metallic paint finish will also be available for the new BMW 4 Series Coupé in future. For the BMW X5, BMW X6 and BMW X7, the colours Dravit Grey metallic and Sparkling Brown metallic have been added to the range. In addition, the BMW Individual special paintwork finishes Grigio Telesto metallic, Urban Green metallic, Frozen Black metallic, Petrol Mica metallic, Ruby Red metallic, Avus Blue metallic and British Racing Green metallic are also available for the large BMW X models. 

For the BMW i3 (combined fuel consumption: 0.0 l/100 km; combined power consumption: 13.1 kWh/100 km; combined CO₂ emissions: 0 g/km) and BMW i3s (combined fuel consumption: 0.0 l/100 km; combined power consumption: 14.6 – 14.0 kWh/100 km; combined CO₂ emissions: 0 g/km) new paint finishes will also be available from November 2020. From July and August 2020, both efficiency and dynamic performance will be optimised in 51 models with the use of a particularly powerful starter generator and an additional battery. This also applies to the new in-line 6-cylinder diesel engines in the BMW 7 Series and in the BMW X3, BMW X4, BMW X5, BMW X6 and BMW X7. Two additional engine variants are available for the BMW 2 Series Gran Coupé from July 2020 onwards. In numerous plug-in hybrid models, the new BMW eDrive Zone function will ensure an automatic switch to purely electric operating mode when entering inner city areas such as low emission zones.

The extension of the range of standard and optional equipment features in the areas of driver assistance systems, operation and networking contributes to an increase in driving pleasure. A new display and control system will be part of the standard trim in the new BMW 3 Series from July 2020. Among other things, BMW Operating System 7 enables use of the optional BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant. Furthermore, in the BMW 3 Series and other model series the range of functions of the optional Driving Assistant Professional is supplemented by Active Navigation Guidance and the Emergency Lane Assistant.

Increased dynamic performance and reduced fuel consumption: 48-volt mild hybrid technology now in 51 BMW models.
From summer 2020 onwards, mild hybrid technology will be used in numerous additional BMW models to provide support and relief for the combustion engine. It consists of a 48-volt starter generator that enables particularly intensive braking energy recuperation along with an additional battery to store the electricity that is generated in this way. The 48-volt battery not only supplies the electrically operated vehicle functions, it also makes its energy available to generate additional drive power. For this purpose the current flows back to the starter generator, which now takes on the role of an electric drive. This reduces the load on the combustion engine, allowing it to run as often as possible in an efficiency-optimised load range. What is more, the generator creates an electric boost during acceleration. This instantly available additional output of 8 kW/11 hp supports dynamic power delivery during start and acceleration.

The 48-volt mild hybrid technology was first introduced in selected model variants of the BMW 5 Series in autumn 2019. This was followed by the BMW 3 Series models and several BMW X models. From July and August 2020, it will be available as standard in 37 further model variants of the BMW 3 Series, BMW 5 Series, BMW 6 Series and BMW 7 Series as well as the BMW X3, BMW X4, BMW X5, BMW X6 and BMW X7. All in all it will ensure efficiency and dynamic performance in 51 current BMW models.

More power, less emissions: the new in-line 6-cylinder diesel engines with optimised BMW TwinPower Turbo Technology.
A new generation of in-line 6-cylinder engines will make its debut in numerous BMW model series in summer 2020. These highly efficient aluminium power units, each with a capacity of 3.0 litres, combine their extensively further developed BMW TwinPower Turbo Technology with the new 48-volt mild hybrid system, thereby achieving particularly significant progress within the context of BMW EfficientDynamics. In addition to optimised turbocharging systems, the latest version of common rail direct injection with piezo injectors ensures that both performance and efficiency are significantly increased in the new diesel engines. The injectors now transport fuel to the combustion chambers in up to ten injections per cycle and at a maximum pressure of 2,700 bar.

With maximum output increased by 15 kW/21 hp to 210 kW/286 hp, the new diesel engine for the models BMW 730d (combined fuel consumption: 4.9 – 4.7 l/100 km; combined CO₂ emissions: 128 – 123 g/km) and BMW 730d xDrive (combined fuel consumption: 5.2 – 5.0 l/100 km; combined CO₂ emissions: 138 – 133 g/km), BMW 730Ld (combined fuel consumption: 5.0 – 4.8 l/100 km; combined CO₂ emissions: 130 – 126 g/km), BMW 730Ld xDrive (combined fuel consumption: 5.3 – 5.1 l/100 km; combined CO₂ emissions: 139 – 133 g/km), BMW X3 xDrive30d (combined fuel consumption: 5.6 – 5.2 l/100 km; combined CO₂ emissions: 147 – 137 g/km), BMW X4 xDrive30d (combined fuel consumption: 5.6 – 5.1 l/100 km; combined CO₂ emissions: 146 – 136 g/km), BMW X5 xDrive30d (combined fuel consumption: 6.2 – 5.7 l/100 km; combined CO₂ emissions: 164 – 150 g/km) und BMW X6 xDrive30d (combined fuel consumption: 6.2 – 5.7 l/100 km; combined CO₂ emissions: 162 – 149 g/km) demonstrates a perceptibly enhanced temperament. Its particularly spontaneous power delivery is due to the multi-stage turbocharging used for the first time in this version of the in-line 6-cylinder diesel engine, along with variable turbine geometry for the low-pressure stage of the system. Increased by 30 to 650 Nm, the maximum torque of the new drive unit goes on stream at between 1,500 and 2,500 rpm – a power boost that especially results in enhanced sprint capacity. For example, the BMW 730d and the BMW 730d xDrive have improved their acceleration from zero to 100 km/h by 0.2 seconds each to 5.9 and 5.6 seconds respectively.

The new diesel engine now also used in the BMW 740d xDrive models BMW 740d xDrive (combined fuel consumption: 5.4 – 5.2 l/100 km; combined CO₂ emissions: 142 – 136 g/km), BMW 740Ld xDrive (combined fuel consumption: 5.4 – 5.2 l/100 km; combined CO₂ emissions: 143 – 137 g/km), BMW X3 M40d (combined fuel consumption: 6.0 – 5.6 l/100 km; combined CO₂ emissions: 157 – 148 g/km), BMW X4 M40d (combined fuel consumption: 5.9 – 5.6 l/100 km; combined CO₂ emissions: 156 – 147 g/km) und BMW X7 xDrive40d (combined fuel consumption: 6.6 – 6.4 l/100 km; combined CO₂ emissions: 173 – 167 g/km) generates even greater pulling power. Its multi-stage turbocharging system comprises a high-pressure and a low-pressure turbocharger with variable turbine geometry. As a result, a maximum torque of 700 Nm is delivered between 1,750 and 2,250 rpm. The engine reaches its peak output of 250 kW/340 hp at 4 400 rpm. In the BMW 740d xDrive, for example, this increased power helps achieve a sprint from standstill to 100 km/h that is also improved by 0.2 seconds to 5.0 seconds.

The two new engines are feature exhaust gas treatment technology with engine-related components consisting of a diesel oxidation catalytic converter and an SCR coating on the diesel particulate filter. For optimum reduction of nitrogen oxide (NO_X) emissions, a second dosage unit is additionally integrated at the outlet of the engine-related SCR system. As a result, the models powered by the new in-line 6-cylinder diesel engines meet the Euro 6d emissions standard.

Expansion of the model range for the BMW 2 Series Gran Coupé.
The BMW 2 Series Gran Coupé model range will be extended from July 2020 with the addition of two new engine variants. A new entry-level diesel engine and an additional all-wheel drive model variant are available for the sporty, elegant four-door model in the premium compact segment. The new BMW 218d Gran Coupé (combined fuel consumption: 4.5 – 4.2 l/100 km; combined CO₂ emissions: 118 – 109 g/km) is powered by the latest version of a 4-cylinder diesel engine. The BMW TwinPower Turbo Technology in the 2.0-litre power unit now includes a two-stage turbocharging system as well as a likewise further developed common rail direct injection featuring solenoid valve injectors. The new engine delivers its maximum torque of 350 Nm between 1,750 and 2,500 rpm, reaching a maximum output of 110 kW/150 hp at 4,000 rpm. The new BMW 218d Gran Coupé accelerates from zero to 100 km/h in 8.6 seconds with the standard 6-speed manual transmission and in 8.5 seconds with the optional 8-speed Steptronic transmission.

The second diesel engine available for the BMW 2 Series Gran Coupé delivers a maximum output of 140 kW/190 hp and a maximum torque of 400 Nm. In the new BMW 220d xDrive Gran Coupé (combined fuel consumption: 4.9 – 4.5 l/100 km; combined CO₂ emissions: 129 – 119 g/km) it is now combined with intelligent all-wheel drive and an 8-speed Steptronic transmission. This enables the new model variant to accelerate from standstill to 100 km/h in 7.3 seconds. Thanks to state-of-the-art exhaust gas treatment including SCR catalytic converter with AdBlue injection, both new models meet the Euro 6d emissions standard.

Green light for BMW eDrive Zone: locally emissions-free travel in the city on an automated basis.
Innovative technology from the fields of electrification and digitalisation is combined in the new BMW eDrive Zone function available in the premium car manufacturer’s plug-in hybrid models. This globally unique digital service offers additional options for making optimum use of the capabilities of emissions-free driving. The BMW eDrive Zone function triggers an automatic switch to purely electric operating mode as soon as the vehicle enters selected urban areas such as low-emission zones.

BMW eDrive Zone will be a standard feature of all plug-in hybrid models of the BMW 3 Series, BMW 5 Series and BMW 7 Series as well as the BMW X5. The digital service uses geo-fencing technology via GPS to identify designated areas. eDrive zones of this kind are currently designated in some 80 cities throughout Europe. When the service is activated, each available eDrive Zone on the navigation map is graphically highlighted in the Control Display: a message appears to inform the driver that the vehicle will automatically switch to electric driving mode as soon as it enters an eDrive Zone.

From summer 2020, the above-mentioned plug-in hybrid models will also be fitted with an integrated drive-ready sound for electric power as standard. This means that both starting and stopping the electric drive will be accompanied by a distinctive acoustic signal. In addition there has been an expansion of the range of preconditioning functions, which is also a standard feature. Depending on the equipment fitted, more functions will be available that can be activated remotely by smartphone, in addition to interior cooling and heating. In future it will also be possible to activate the seat climate control before the start of a journey, for example. In the same way it will be possible to include the seat, steering wheel, exterior mirror and rear window heating systems in the preconditioning for heating the interior, as well as heating of the cameras for the driver assistance systems.

BMW 3 Series Sedan and BMW 3 Series Touring now fitted with BMW Operating System 7 as standard.
In the new BMW 3 Series, the latest generation of the display and control system will be a standard feature as of summer 2020. Previously only used in conjunction with BMW Live Cockpit Professional, BMW Operating System 7 offers extensive individualisation and personalisation of the content shown on the Control Display. The standard BMW Live Cockpit now also includes a redesigned instrument cluster with a 5.1-inch digital display at its centre. BMW Live Cockpit Plus, like BMW Live Cockpit Professional, also includes the BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant. This digital companion enables intuitive operation of numerous vehicle functions via voice control (“Hey, BMW”). In the BMW 1 Series and BMW 2 Series Gran Coupé, BMW Operating System 7 will also be part of the optional BMW Live Cockpit Plus from July 2020.

The M sports seats are new to the range of optional extras for the new BMW 3 Series Sedan and the new BMW 3 Series Touring. They feature excellent lateral support, a wide range of adjustment options and headrests with embossed M logo. The M sports seats for driver and front passenger are available in conjunction with the Model M Sport equipment line as well as for the BMW M automobiles of the new BMW 3 Series. The choice of exterior colours for the new BMW 3 Series is supplemented by the variant Phytonic Blue metallic.

Increased comfort and safety: Driving Assistant Professional with additional functions.
The optional Driving Assistant Professional is a particularly comprehensive collection of driver assistance systems designed to optimise comfort and safety: it is being used by BMW to pave the way to automated driving in numerous current models. The focus is on the steering and lane guidance assistant, which will be enhanced with additional functions from summer 2020 in the BMW 3 Series, BMW 5 Series, BMW 6 Series and BMW 8 Series, in the BMW X5, BMW X6 and BMW X7, and in all variants of the BMW M5 and BMW M8.

The new Active Navigation Guidance indicates lane changes that are necessary in order to continue driving along the selected route when destination guidance is active. The driver can then carry out this operation conveniently with the aid of the lane change assistant. In addition, Active Cruise Control with Stop & Go function will in future include an adaptive distance control that adapts to the respective traffic situation and environmental conditions.

Further progress is also being made in the intelligent control of the Speed Limit Info system with No Passing Indicator. In all model variants of the BMW 1 Series, BMW 3 Series, BMW 5 Series, BMW 6 Series, BMW 7 Series and BMW 8 Series, the BMW 2 Series Gran Coupé, the BMW Z4, the BMW X5, the BMW X6 and the BMW X7 as well as the BMW M5, the BMW M8, the BMW X5 M and the BMW X6 M, road sign detection will in future additionally take into account speed limits that are restricted in time and only apply on certain days of the week. On days other, the speed limit derived from the navigation data is displayed.

BMW 7 Series and BMW 8 Series with optimised Integral Active Steering.
Sporty flair and ride comfort in the BMW 7 Series luxury sedans and the luxury sports cars of the BMW 8 Series benefit from Integral Active Steering. The optional suspension system combines a variable rack and pinion ratio on the front axle with selective co-steering of the rear wheels. Even at particularly low speeds of less than 3 km/h, the rear wheels are now countersteered. This gives the models of the BMW 7 Series and BMW 8 Series additional manoeuvrability when moving slowly in and out of parking spaces or passing through narrow gaps.

In addition, the BMW 7 Series will be available from July 2020 in the new exterior paint finish Phytonic Blue metallic and the BMW Individual paint finish Frozen Bluestone metallic. A fresh touch of luxury ambience is added to the interior with the BMW Individual leather steering wheel as well as the new version of the BMW Individual Merino full leather trim in the colour combination Smoke White/Night Blue/Black.

New body finishes for the BMW i3 and numerous other models
Another new addition to the range is the body finish in Cashmere Silver metallic, which is also available for the BMW X1. The BMW 2 Series Gran Tourer will also offered in Phytonic Blue metallic and Misano Blue metallic in future.

New body finishes are available for numerous other models, too. Phytonic Blue metallic and Sunset Orange metallic versions of the BMW 1 Series and the BMW 2 Series Gran Coupé will be on offer from July 2020. The body finish Phytonic Blue metallic will also be available for the BMW X5, BMW X6 and BMW X7 as of August 2020. What is more, the BMW X5 and BMW X6 can be fitted with the new Carbon Fibre interior trim finishers and M Carbon exterior mirror caps in conjunction with the M sports package.

The purely electrically powered models BMW i3 (combined fuel consumption: 0.0 l/100 km; combined power consumption: 13.1 kWh/100 km; combined CO₂ emissions: 0 g/km) and BMW i3s (combined fuel consumption: 0.0 l/100 km; combined power consumption: 14.6 – 14.0 kWh/100 km; combined CO₂ emissions: 0 g/km) will be available from summer 2020 in the new body finish Blue Ridge Mountain with accentuations in Frozen Grey metallic.

Meanwhile new BMW Individual body finishes are available for the model variants of the high-performance sports car BMW M8. For the BMW M8 Series Coupé (combined fuel consumption: 10.6 l/100 km; combined CO₂ emissions: 242 g/km*) and the BMW M8 Convertible (combined fuel consumption: 10.8 l/100 km; combined CO₂ emissions: 246 g/km), the Ametrin metallic variant is now newly available. For both models and for the BMW M8 Gran Coupé (combined fuel consumption: 10.7 l/100 km; combined CO₂ emissions: 244 g/km), the versions Bluestone metallic, Frozen Brands Hatch Grey metallic and Frozen Motegi Red metallic are likewise available.

CO2 EMISSIONS & CONSUMPTION.

Munich. From the spring of 2020, BMW will contribute towards a further reduction of consumption levels and the optimisation of the emission performance of current models through the use of systematically evolved drive technology. In parallel with the expansion of the range of models featuring all-electric and plug-in hybrid drive scheduled to follow during the course of the year, both the efficiency and the exhaust emission quality of petrol-driven vehicles will be significantly increased.  This is ensured, inter alia, by innovative mild hybrid technology which, following the BMW 5 Series, will as from March/April also be deployed in the BMW 3 Series as well as the model series BMW X3 and BMW X4. At the same time, in the spring of 2020, 33 further BMW models will already comply with the Euro 6d emission standard, which will not become obligatory until 2021. 

A further drive variant for the BMW 1 Series as well as additional engines for the BMW 3 Series Sedan and the BMW 3 Series Touring will enhance the diversity of available options in the premium compact and premium midrange segment. Additional options for interior design provide for greater individuality in the BMW X5, the BMW X6 and the BMW X7.

Electric pulling power for efficiency and dynamics: Mild hybrid technology with 48-volt starter generator for further models.  

BMW is extending the use of mild hybrid technology to further models. This innovation, first introduced in the autumn of 2019 forthe four model variants of the BMW 520d (combined fuel consumption: 4.9 – 4.1 l/100 km; combined CO2 emissions: 128 – 108 g/km), comprises an extremely powerful 48-volt starter generator as well as an additional battery, and enhances both efficiency and dynamics of vehicles equipped with this technology. As from the spring of 2020, mild hybrid technology will also be featured as standard in the models BMW 320d Sedan (automatic transmission) (combined fuel consumption: 4.1 – 4.0 l/100 km; combined CO2 emissions: 107 – 105 g/km), the BMW 320d Touring (combined fuel consumption: 4.3 – 4.2 l/100 km; combined CO2 emissions: 112 – 109 g/km), the BMW 320d xDrive Sedan (combined fuel consumption: 4.4 – 4.3 l/100 km; combined CO2 emissions: 117 – 114 g/km), the BMW 320d xDrive Touring (combined fuel consumption: 4.5 – 4.5 l/100 km; combined CO2 emissions: 119 – 117 g/km), the BMW X3 xDrive20d (combined fuel consumption: 5.1 – 4.8 l/100 km; combined CO2 emissions: 134 – 126 g/km) and the BMW X4 xDrive20d (combined fuel consumption: 5.1 – 4.8 l/100 km; combined CO2 emissions: 133 – 125 g/km).

Mild hybrid technology provides significantly greater possibilities to make use of brake energy recuperation. The energy recuperated when accelerating and braking is not only used to provide electrically powered vehicle functions with energy but also to generate additional drive power. The 48-volt starter generator delivers an additional power output of up to 8 kW/11 hp. The electric over-boost is made available very spontaneously, thus enhancing dynamics when starting off and accelerating from a standstill.  During the journey, the electric over-boost can be used to support the combustion engine, enabling it to run as frequently as possible within an efficiency-optimised load range and to reduce consumption peaks. Moreover, when driving within inefficient operational ranges, it is possible to supply the 48-volt battery with additional energy from the starter generator by raising the load point when required.  

Furthermore, the 48-volt starter generator provides for exceptionally smooth switching off as well as a faster and thus more comfortable re-starting of the combustion engine when the Auto Start Stop function is used at road junctions or in traffic jams. When the vehicle decelerates, the combustion engine can be disconnected at a speed of less than 15 km/h. The kinetic energy gained when decelerating further to a standstill is then used for recuperation. The efficiencyenhancing effect of the “coasting” function has also been optimised. At a speed of up to 160 km/h, the combustion engine is no longer switched into idle mode but is completely disconnected. During the journey, engine re-start is also fast and comfortable. The optimised “coasting” function is available both in the COMFORT and ECOPRO modes of the Driving Experience Switch.

Optimised emission performance: 40 BMW models now already fulfil the future Euro 6d emission standard.

With yet a further optimisation of the emission performance of numerous models, BMW is preparing well in advance for future legal requirements governing exhaust emissions. As from the spring of 2020, 33 further models from various model series will fulfil the Euro 6d exhaust emission standard. Consequently, 40 BMW models comply with the demands specified by the more stringent standard a year prior to the new emission regulation coming into force. 

The vehicles that will already comply with the Euro 6d emission standard as from the spring of 2020 include model variants of the BMW 1 Series, BMW 2 Series and BMW 3 Series as well as the BMW X1, BMW X2, BMW X3, BMW X4, BMW X5 and the BMW X6.

New drive variants for the BMW 1 Series, the BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe, the BMW 3 Series Sedan and the BMW 3 Series Touring. Starting in March 2020, additional drive variants will increase the diversity of the BMW 1 Series and BMW 3 Series model range. The BMW 120d (combined fuel consumption: 4.6 – 4.3 l/100 km; combined CO2 emissions: 121 – 112 g/km) will be added to the model range in the premium compact segment. The power generated by the car’s 2-litre, 140 kW/190 hp four-cylinder diesel power unit featuring BMW TwinPower Turbo Technology is transferred to the front wheels via a standard 8-speed Steptronic transmission, allowing the new BMW 120d to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.3 seconds and to reach a top speed of 231 km/h. The new BMW 120d is one of the models that already fulfil the Euro 6d emission standard. 

The engines of the BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe will be expanded with a 216d diesel engine.

A new four-cylinder petrol engine with a displacement of 2 litres and BMW TwinPower Turbo Technology complements the drive portfolio for the new BMW 3 Series. Next to to that an 316d diesel engine will be added for the BMW 3 Series Sedan. The power unit for the new BMW 318i Sedan (combined fuel consumption: 5.7 – 5.3 l/100 km; combined CO2 emissions: 130 – 120 g/km) and the new BMW 318i Touring (combined fuel consumption: 6.2 – 5.7 l/100 km; combined CO2 emissions: 140 – 130 g/km) delivers a maximum power output of 115 kW/156 hp and a peak torque of 250 Nm. The standard equipment range for the new BMW 3 Series entry model includes an 8-speed Steptronic transmission. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/ is 8.4 seconds for the Sedan and 8.7 seconds for the Touring model. Top speed is 223 km/h (BMW 318i Sedan) and 220 km/h (BMW 318i Touring) respectively.

BMW 7 Series and BMW 8 Series with extended standard configuration, additional offer of leather options and interior trims for the BMW X5, the BMW X6 and the BMW X7.

From March 2020, a broader range of standard features will enhance comfort in the luxury-class models of the BMW 7 Series and the BMW 8 Series. In future, BMW 7 Series luxury sedans, BMW 8 Series luxury sports cars as well as the high-performance models BMW M8 Competition Coupe (combined fuel consumption: 10.6 l/100 km; combined CO2 emissions: 242 g/km), BMW M8 Competition Convertible (combined fuel consumption: 10.8 l/100 km; combined CO2 emissions: 246 g/km) and BMW M8 Competition Gran Coupe (combined fuel consumption: 10.7 l/100 km; combined CO2 emissions: 244 g/km) will be equipped with an automatic soft-close function for the doors.

Thanks to a wider selection of leather options and interior trims, there are now new possibilities to individualise the models BMW X5, BMW X6 and BMW X7. As from April, the leather trim perforated Vernasca in the colour combination Canberra Beige/Black is additionally available for these three models. In future, the BMW X6 can be ordered with the leather trim perforated Vernasca in the colour Cognac/Black. Likewise available for the Sports Activity Coupe are the extended BMW Individual leather options Merino in the colour combinations Tartufo/Black, Ivory White/Black and Ivory White/Night Blue/Black as well as the BMW Individual all-leather interior trim Merino in the colour combinations Coffee/Black and Tartufo/Black. Also new in the range of options for the BMW X6: High-grade Poplar Grain, Anthracite-Brown, open-pored.

Fuel consumption, CO2 emission figures and power consumption were measured using the methods required according to Regulation (EC) 2007/715 as amended. The figures are calculated using a vehicle fitted with basic equipment in Germany, the ranges stated take into account differences in selected wheel and tyre sizes as well as the optional equipment. They may change during configuration.

The figures have already been calculated based on the new WLTP test cycle and adapted to NEDC for comparison purposes. In these vehicles, different figures than those published here may apply for the assessment of taxes and other vehicle-related duties which are (also) based on CO2 emissions.

• Opvallend zijn het dynamisch gestrekte silhouet van de auto, de ramen zonder frame in de portieren en de achterlichtunits die ver naar het midden van de achterzijde zijn doorgetrokken en strak aansluiten op een hoogglanzend zwarte strook met daarin centraal het BMW logo.
• De BMW 2 Reeks Gran Coupé is 4.526 mm lang, 1.800 mm breed en 1.420 mm hoog. Ondanks dat de carrosserie laag en sportief oogt, genieten de inzittenden van een riante binnenruimte dankzij de 2.670 mm lange wielbasis. De bagageruimte van 430 liter is op diverse manieren uit te breiden.
• Dynamisch ogende voorzijde met een nieuwe interpretatie van iconische BMW kenmerken: de enigszins schuin geplaatste koplampen (standaard LED) zijn daarin gezichtsbepalend en leiden de aandacht naar de BMW nierengrille. Die vormt een belangrijk verbindend element in de voorzijde van de auto.

• Zoals zijn sportieve uiterlijk al suggereert, is de BMW 2 Reeks Gran Coupé qua dynamiek de nieuwe maatstaf in zijn segment. • De standaardspecificatie voor de topuitvoering, de sportieve BMW M235i xDrive, omvat onder meer BMW xDrive vierwielaandrijving, een mechanisch Torsen-differentieel met beperkte slip, M Sport Steering en M Sport remmen. De 8-traps Steptronic Sport transmissie is ook voorzien van een Launch Control modus. Het driedimensionale meshdesign dat in de BMW nierengrille de spijlen vervangt, is geïnspireerd op raceauto’s en zorgt voor een verleidelijk optisch accent.

• De BMW 2 Reeks Gran Coupé is voorzien van innovatieve bestuurdersassistentie afkomstig uit modellen die hoger in het gamma van BMW staan. Lane Departure Warning met actieve stuurcorrectie en Collision and Pedestrian Warning met City-remfunctie zijn standaard, terwijl Active Cruise Control, Driving Assistant met Rear Collision Warning en Crossing Traffic Warning, en de innovatieve Reversing Assistant allemaal als optie leverbaar zijn.
• De BMW 2 Reeks Gran Coupé is te ver- en ontgrendelen via de smartphone als de berijder beschikt over de optionele BMW Digital Key. De motor kan worden gestart zodra de smartphone in de daarvoor bestemde dock is geplaatst.
• De BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant is onderdeel van het bedieningsconcept van de BMW 2 Reeks Gran Coupé. De digitale assistent kan de dagelijkse routines en gewoonten van de bestuurder leren en die vervolgens in de juiste situaties toepassen. De assistent kan ook eenvoudige gesprekken voeren, met af en toe een grapje tussendoor, en interessante verhalen vertellen.
• Connected Navigation diensten kunnen informatie van het navigatiesysteem en externe informatie benutten voor de planning van de route. De bestuurders van de BMW 2 Reeks Gran Coupé kunnen bestemmingen via diverse apps rechtstreeks naar het navigatiesysteem van de auto zenden, die opslaan en synchroniseren.

An elegant and engaging gateway into the premium compact segment.
BMW is bringing the four-door coupe concept that has already enjoyed great success in higher vehicle classes into the premium compact segment. The first ever BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe celebrates its arrival with a fresh dose of individuality, aesthetic appeal and emotional engagement, backed up by innovative control/operation and connectivity tech, excellent everyday usability and exceptional dynamic capability. This show-stealing spin-off from the classical sedan format is underpinned by BMW’s cutting-edge front-wheel-drive architecture and shares an array of technological developments with the recently unveiled new BMW 1 Series. Like its premium-compact stablemate, the BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe employs groudbreaking chassis technology and innovative control systems to raise the bar in terms of dynamics and agility.

Innovative traction control with ARB technology.
One feature of the new car’s technical armoury is the ARB (near-actuator wheel slip limitation) technology featured in the BMW i3s (electric power consumption combined: 14.6 – 14 kWh/100 km, CO₂ emissions combined: 0 g/km*). ARB uses a slip controller positioned directly in the engine control unit rather than in the control unit for the DSC (Dynamic Stability Control) system. Eliminating long signal paths means that information is relayed three times quicker, while the driver perceives wheel slip being brought under control up to ten times faster. This innovative traction control technology teams up with the likewise standard BMW Performance Control (yaw moment distribution) to deliver a direct and intense driving experience with both front-wheel drive and the BMW xDrive intelligent all-wheel drive of the BMW M235i xDrive (fuel consumption combined: 7.1 – 6.7 l/100 km [39.8 – 41.8 mpg imp]; CO₂ emissions combined: 162 – 153 g/km**). The sporty range-topping model is fitted with the most powerful four-cylinder engine in the BMW Group line-up, producing 225 kW (306 hp). It also comes as standard with the newly developed mechanical Torsen limited-slip differential, which gives the car an even sportier edge by creating a locking effect between the front wheels.

Munich. BMW will also be injecting many of the models not affected by its ongoing model offensive with added variety and appeal during the summer of 2019. Following the successful launch of the new BMW 3 Series Sedan, its choice of power units has now been expanded. New engines are also fitted in the BMW 8 Series Coupe, BMW 8 Series Convertible and BMW 5 Series Sedan. Elsewhere, the BMW Z4 sDrive20i (fuel consumption combined: 6.9 – 6.8 l/100 km [40.9 – 41.5 mpg imp]; CO2 emissions combined: 157 – 155 g/km) will also be available with a six-speed manual gearbox from July 2019.

The portfolio of plug-in hybrid models is also set to grow in summer 2019, thanks to additions such as the BMW 530e xDrive Sedan (petrol consumption combined: 2.2 – 2.0 l/100 km [128.4 – 141.2 mpg imp]; electric power consumption combined: 15.4 – 15.0 kWh/100 km; CO2 emissions combined: 49 – 46 g/km) with intelligent all-wheel drive. All plug-in hybrid models will now come with new battery cell technology to boost their electric range and will also feature acoustic protection for pedestrians as standard. The BMW X2 will come with LED headlights and LED foglamps as standard from July 2019. Last but not least, new optional extras, exterior paint finishes, leather variants and interior trim strips will open up further scope for customisation in many model ranges.

BMW 3 Series Sedan: additional power units, new body colours and options.

The new BMW 3 Series Sedan will serve up its distinctive brand of driving pleasure in a number of new formats from July 2019, when an ultra-sporty representative with a straight-six petrol engine and BMW xDrive, another three all-wheel-drive variants and a plug-in hybrid model are added to the line-up. As a result, customers will now have a choice of three petrol and three diesel engines, as well as a plug-in hybrid drive system. Five of the power units will combine with all-wheel drive, either as standard or optionally.

Spearheading the model range is the new BMW M340i xDrive Sedan (fuel consumption combined: 7.5 l/100 km [37.7 mpg imp]; CO2 emissions combined: 172 g/km), which is powered by a new 275 kW/374 hp six-cylinder in-line petrol engine. An eight-speed Steptronic Sport transmission, intelligent all-wheel drive, an M Sport differential and bespoke chassis technology combine to keep the engine’s exceptional power planted firmly on the road and deliver a supremely assured and exhilarating drive. The likewise standard sports exhaust system produces a soundtrack to match. The new BMW M340i xDrive Sedan sprints from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 4.4 seconds.

From July 2019, intelligent all-wheel drive will be available in combination with another three engines. The trio of models benefiting from the superior traction, directional stability and agility this brings will be the BMW 320i xDrive Sedan (fuel consumption combined: 6.3 – 5.9 l/100 km [44.84 – 47.9 mpg imp]; CO2 emissions combined: 143 – 134 g/km), BMW 330i xDrive Sedan (fuel consumption combined: 6.5 – 6.2 l/100 km [43.5 – 45.6 mpg imp]; CO2 emissions combined: 147 – 141 g/km) and BMW 330d xDrive Sedan (fuel consumption combined: 5.4 – 5.1 l/100 km [52.3 – 55.4 mpg imp]; CO2 emissions combined: 140 – 134 g/km).

The new BMW 330e Sedan (petrol consumption combined: 1.9 – 1.6 l/100 km [148.7 – 176.6 mpg imp]; electric power consumption combined: 15.4 – 14.8 kWh/100 km; CO2 emissions combined: 43 – 37 g/km) delivers a particularly appealing blend of driving pleasure and efficiency. The plug-in hybrid model’s four-cylinder petrol engine and electric drive unit join forces to generate system output of up to 215 kW/292 hp when the newly developed XtraBoost mode is engaged. This enables the BMW 330e Sedan to reach 100 km/h (62 mph) from rest in 6.0 seconds. At the same time, it is capable of a maximum electric range from 59 to 66 kilometres (37 – 41 miles) courtesy of state-of-the-art battery technology.

M Sport suspension will also be available for the new BMW 3 Series Sedan (with the exception of the M Sport model) from July 2019, as will Adaptive M suspension. Both the optional suspension systems combine with Variable Sport Steering.

The new BMW Individual paint finishes Citrine Black metallic, Oxide Grey metallic, Frozen Dark Grey metallic and Brilliant White metallic create extra scope for customisation. Customers will also have the option of a BMW Individual leather steering wheel and three different BMW Individual interior trim strip designs from July 2019. BMW Individual extended leather upholstery Merino and BMW Individual Merino full leather trim – which wraps the upper section of the instrument panel and the door shoulders in black fulled leather, too – will also be added to the options list. The two leather trim variants are each available in a choice of five colours. BMW Individual extended leather upholstery Merino also features as part of the first BMW Individual Composition for the sports sedan. Other items in the Composition include 19-inch BMW Individual light-alloy wheels, a BMW Individual paint finish, sports seats, the BMW Individual leather steering wheel and an anthracite BMW Individual headliner. The M Sport Individual model is another new option combining the M Sport model’s equipment features with ultra-stylish details, such as 19-inch BMW Individual light-alloy wheels, a BMW Individual exterior paint finish, BMW Individual interior trim strips, BMW Individual extended leather upholstery Merino and the BMW Individual leather steering wheel.

BMW 5 Series: new V8 engine, plug-in hybrid model now also with all-wheel drive, attractive optional extras and packages.

A generation change for the V8 engine and another plug-in hybrid model make the range of drive systems available for the BMW 5 Series even more appealing. From July 2019 the BMW M550i xDrive Sedan (fuel consumption combined: 10.0 – 9.9 l/100 km [28.25 – 28.5 mpg imp]; CO2 emissions combined: 227 – 225 g/km) will be fitted with the latest update of the eight-cylinder engine with BMW M TwinPower Turbo technology. The new V8 has an optimised crankcase and larger turbochargers positioned in the “V” between the cylinder banks, and develops maximum output of 390 kW/530 hp plus peak torque of 750 Nm (553 lb-ft). The eight-cylinder teams up with the eight-speed Steptronic transmission, intelligent all-wheel drive and model-specific chassis technology to generate standout dynamics.

From July 2019 the latest-generation high-voltage battery will give the BMW 530e Sedan (petrol consumption combined: 1.8 – 1.6 l/100 km [156.9 – 176.6 mpg imp]; electric power consumption combined: 14.5 – 13.6 kWh/100 km; CO2 emissions combined: 41 – 36 g/km) a longer all-electric operating range. The plug-in hybrid model will now also be available with intelligent all-wheel drive. The link-up of four-cylinder petrol engine and electric drive system endow the new BMW 530e xDrive Sedan with system output of 185 kW/252 hp.

A new BMW Individual Composition will be available for all BMW 5 Series Sedan and BMW 5 Series Touring model variants from July 2019. The precisely coordinated design and equipment features for the exterior and interior include a BMW Individual paint finish and 20-inch BMW Individual light-alloy wheels, BMW Individual Exterior Line Aluminium satinated, comfort seats with active seat ventilation, BMW Individual extended leather upholstery Merino, a BMW Individual leather steering wheel, an Anthracite-coloured BMW Individual headliner, ambient lighting, a BMW Individual instrument panel in black leather and BMW Individual interior trim strips in Piano Finish Black.

BMW 8 Series: new six-cylinder in-line petrol engine, optional M Sport seats, additional paint finishes and leather trim variants.

Another engine option and four new model variants inject extra variety into the line-up of power units for the new BMW 8 Series luxury sports car. From July 2019 the BMW 8 Series Coupe and BMW 8 Series Convertible will also be offered with a new six-cylinder in-line-petrol engine developing 250 kW/340 hp. It teams up with rear-wheel drive in the new BMW 840i Coupe (fuel consumption combined: 7.3 – 7.2 l/100 km [38.7 –39.2 mpg imp]; CO2 emissions combined: 167 – 164 g/km) and new BMW 840i Convertible (fuel consumption combined: 7.5 – 7.4 l/100 km [37.7 – 38.2 mpg imp]; CO2 emissions combined: 170 – 168 g/km), and with intelligent all-wheel drive in the new BMW 840i xDrive Coupe (fuel consumption combined: 7.7 – 7.5 l/100 km [36.7 – 37.7 mpg imp]; CO2 emissions combined: 174 – 172 g/km) and new BMW 840i xDrive Convertible (fuel consumption combined: 7.8 – 7.7 l/100 km [36.2 - 36.7 mpg imp]; CO2 emissions combined: 178 – 175 g/km).

The engine line-up for the BMW 8 Series also includes a V8 option and a six-cylinder in-line diesel unit. All model variants stand out with their captivating performance attributes, which can be enjoyed in even greater richness and depth in the M Sport seats now added to the options list. As well as attention-grabbing bucket-seat contours and safety belts with accent strips in BMW M GmbH colours, the M Sport seats also feature 3D quilting, perforated central sections and bespoke stitching. Added to which, BMW 8 Series customers will also be able to specify BMW Individual full-leather appointments in eight colour variants from July 2019, plus BMW Individual fine wood interior trim strips in Black Ash Silver Effect high-gloss and Carbon Fibre.

Ultra-classy exterior paint finishes have been added to the spectrum of options available. For example, customers can now also order their BMW 8 Series Coupe or BMW 8 Series Convertible in the BMW Individual paint finish Frozen Bluestone metallic. The BMW 8 Series Convertible can also be ordered with the BMW Individual finishes Frozen Brilliant White metallic, Frozen Dark Brown metallic, Frozen Arctic Grey metallic, Frozen Dark Silver, Frozen Cashmere Silver, Pure Metal Silver, Brilliant White metallic, Tanzanite Blue metallic, Aventurine Red metallic and Almandine Brown metallic.

BMW X2: LED headlights now standard, additional light-alloy wheels, optional M Sport braking system.

The BMW X2 will come as standard from July 2019 with LED headlights with extended features. Their adaptive light distribution ensures optimum road illumination in urban areas, when turning off a road and through corners. LED front foglamps will also be part of standard specification for the compact Sports Activity Coupe. Options will include five new light-alloy wheels in 18- and 19-inch formats and two new upholstery variants.

The M Sport braking system fitted as standard on the BMW X2 M35i (fuel consumption combined: 7.1 – 6.9 l/100 km [39.8 – 40.9 mpg imp], CO2 emissions combined: 161 – 158 g/km) will now be available as an option for all other variants of the BMW X2. The Navigation option will now include an 8.8 inch Control Display with touchscreen functionality in place of the previous 6.5-inch version. And if the Navigation Plus option is specified, the display will have a screen diagonal of 10.25 inches.

BMW X3 and BMW X4: M Sport seats, new M Sport Individual equipment line.

New optional extras will be added to the range for the BMW X3 and BMW X4 in summer 2019 to give the duo yet more appeal. The Sports Activity Vehicle and Sports Activity Coupe will be available with the option of M Sport seats with distinct bucket-seat styling and special design features for the M Sport model, BMW X3 M40i (fuel consumption combined: 9.1 – 9.1 l/100 km [31.0 – 31.0 mpg imp], CO2 emissions combined: 207 – 206 g/km), BMW X3 M40d (fuel consumption combined: 6.5 – 6.4 l/100 km [43.5 – 44.1 mpg imp], CO2 emissions combined: 172 – 169 g/km), BMW X4 M40i (fuel consumption combined: 9.1 – 9.0 l/100 km [31.0 – 31.4 mpg imp], CO2 emissions combined: 206 – 205 g/km) and BMW X4 M40d (fuel consumption combined: 6.6 – 6.4 l/100 km [42.8 – 44.1 mpg imp], CO2 emissions combined: 173 – 170 g/km), as well as with additional interior trim strip variants.

The new M Sport Individual model available for the BMW X3 and BMW X4 from August 2019 brings together a number of high-quality touches that add to their dynamic prowess, while also giving them an even more stylish and exclusive aura. The equipment features of the M Sport model are combined with highlights such as a BMW Individual paint finish, 21-inch BMW Individual light-alloy wheels, BMW Individual extended leather upholstery Merino and BMW Individual interior trim strips in Piano Finish Black.

BMW X5 and BMW X7: new power units, plus more exterior paint finishes, light-alloy wheels and leather trim variants.

The choice of power units for the new BMW X5 will be expanded with the addition of a new entry-level engine in the form of a four-cylinder diesel available for the Sports Activity Vehicle from August 2019. The two-litre engine in the new BMW X5 xDrive25d (fuel consumption combined: 6.2 – 5.7 l/100 km [45.6 – 49.6 mpg imp]; CO2 emissions combined: 162 – 150 g/km) develops maximum output of 170 kW/231 hp and peak torque of 450 Nm (332 lb-ft) with the help of BMW TwinPower Turbo technology comprising multi-stage turbocharging and common-rail direct injection. The efficient diesel engine teams up with the eight-speed Steptronic transmission and xDrive intelligent all-wheel-drive system. The engine’s emission control system includes an SCR catalyst for reducing nitrogen oxide emissions, helping the new BMW X5 xDrive25d to satisfy the requirements of the Euro 6d-TEMP emissions norm.

The summer of 2019 will also see the launch of another exceptionally efficient version of the Sports Activity Vehicle in the form of the BMW X5 xDrive45e (petrol consumption combined: 2.0 – 1.7 l/100 km [141.2 – 166.2 mpg imp]; electric power consumption combined: 23.5 – 20.3 kWh/100 km; CO2 emissions combined: 47 – 39 g/km). This plug-in hybrid model is powered by a combination of a six-cylinder in-line petrol engine and an electric motor, which together generate system output of 290 kW/394 hp. The second-generation BMW X5 with electrified powertrain accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 5.6 seconds. The BMW xDrive intelligent all-wheel-drive system is on hand to deliver sporty driving pleasure on the road and supremely assured performance off it by distributing the drive power from both engine and motor to all four wheels. The latest battery cell technology on board the new X5 xDrive45e helps it to cover distances of up to 80 kilometres (50 miles) on electric power alone.

Customers will also enjoy an even wider choice of optional extras. The body colour Manhattan metallic, 22-inch M light-alloy wheels in twin-spoke design, the BMW Individual Alcantara headliner in Anthracite or Ivory White and BMW Individual high-gloss Shadow Line trim with extended features will all be added to the BMW X5 options list from August 2019.

New options are being made available for the new BMW X7, too. From August 2019, it will be possible to upgrade the cabin of the luxury segment’s first ever Sports Activity Vehicle with BMW Individual Merino full leather trim in three different colours and a BMW Individual headliner in Anthracite or Ivory White Alcantara. The palette of colours for the exterior will now expand to include the Manhattan metallic shade and BMW Individual paint finishes Tanzanite Blue metallic and Ametrine metallic. And the BMW X7 can likewise now be specified with BMW Individual high-gloss Shadow Line trim with extended features.

BMW Z4: entry-level engine now also available with manual gearbox.

The 145 kW/197 hp four-cylinder petrol engine in the BMW Z4 sDrive20i (fuel consumption combined: 6.9 – 6.8 l/100 km [40.9 – 41.5 mpg imp]; CO2 emissions combined: 157 – 155 g/km) will be partnered by a six-speed manual gearbox as standard from July 2019. The entry-level version of the open-top sports car will also be optionally available with an eight-speed Steptronic transmission.

Plug-in hybrid models with new battery cell technology and acoustic protection for pedestrians.

From summer 2019, the new BMW 330e Sedan, new BMW 530e Sedan, new BMW 530e xDrive Sedan and new BMW X5 xDrive45e will be joined in the line-up of plug-in hybrid models boasting the very latest battery cell technology by the new BMW 225xe Active Tourer (petrol consumption combined: 2.1 – 1.9 l/100 km [134.5 – 148.7 mpg imp]; electric power consumption combined: 14.2 – 13.5 kWh/100 km; CO2 emissions combined: 47 – 42 g/km) and the BMW 7 Series luxury sedan models with electrified powertrains. The newly developed high-voltage batteries further increase efficiency at the same time as boosting the electric range.

From summer 2019, all plug-in hybrid models will be equipped with acoustic protection for pedestrians as standard. When driving on electric power, an unmistakable sound specially created for electrified BMW models is generated using a system of speakers. The sound produced at low speeds has been designed to announce the car’s presence acoustically without affecting acoustic comfort for its occupants.

New optional extra: BMW Drive Recorder - for the Belgian market only.

The BMW Drive Recorder is another new addition to the options list. It can be ordered in conjunction with Parking Assistant Plus and is available for the new BMW 3 Series Sedan, BMW 7 Series, BMW 8 Series, new BMW X5 and new BMW X7. The BMW Drive Recorder uses the cameras of the various driver assistance systems to record video footage from different points around the vehicle, before saving the recordings so they can be either watched later on the Control Display when the car is stationary or exported via the USB port.

Drivers can therefore shoot videos while driving through spectacular scenery, for example, or performing impressive manoeuvres on the race track, and then send them to their mobile device and share them. Recordings can be up to 40 seconds in length, comprising the 20 seconds of video saved immediately prior to the Drive Recorder being activated and the next 20 seconds. The Drive Recorder can be started at any time from the iDrive menu. Another benefit of the system is that, in the event of a collision, the 20 seconds before the accident and the 20 seconds following it are automatically recorded and saved, so they can be referred back to in any subsequent reconstruction of the incident.

BMW will introduce a wave of enticing additions to standard specification and broaden the array of options available ex-factory in spring 2019, delivering a further boost to driving pleasure and individuality in many of its model ranges. Spring 2019 will see the arrival of the BMW X2 M35i (fuel consumption combined: 7.1 – 6.9 l/100 km [39.8 – 40.9 mpg imp]; CO2 emissions combined: 161 – 158 g/km) as the flagship model in the compact Sports Activity Coupe’s line-up. And just a few months on from the market launch of the new BMW 8 Series Coupe and new BMW X5, the selection of exterior paint finishes and leather appointments for the luxury sports car and Sports Activity Vehicle will grow to include additional variants.

BMW 2 Series Coupe, BMW 2 Series Convertible, BMW 3 Series Gran Turismo: fresh touches enhance sportiness and elegance.
Among the refreshing flourishes enriching the visual sportiness and elegance of the BMW 2 Series Coupe and BMW 2 Series Convertible are darkened rear lights, which will become part of standard specification in March 2019. The high-performance BMW M2 Competition (fuel consumption combined: 10.0 – 9.8 l/100 km [28.3 – 28.8 mpg imp]; CO2 emissions combined: 227 – 224 g/km) will likewise come with darkened rear lights as standard. BMW 2 Series Coupe and BMW 2 Series Convertible customers ordering their car in Sport Line specification will find additional bi-colour 17- and 18-inch light-alloy wheels on the options list.

18-inch M light-alloy wheels in twin-spoke design, painted in matt Cerium Grey and with mixed-size tyres, will be offered as a new option for the BMW M240i Coupe (fuel consumption combined: 7.4 – 7.3 l/100 km [38.2 – 38.7 mpg imp]; CO2 emissions combined: 168 – 167 g/km), BMW M240i xDrive Coupe (fuel consumption combined: 8.0 – 7.8 l/100 km [35.3 – 36.2 mpg imp]; CO2 emissions combined: 181 – 178 g/km), BMW M240i Convertible (fuel consumption combined: 7.6 – 7.6 l/100 km [37.2 – 37.2 mpg imp]; CO2 emissions combined: 173 – 172 g/km) and BMW M240i xDrive Convertible (fuel consumption combined: 8.4 – 8.3 l/100 km [33.6 – 34.0 mpg imp]; CO2 emissions combined: 191 – 188 g/km). The palette of exterior paint finishes for the particularly sporty six-cylinder BMW 2 Series models now also includes the new Long Beach Blue metallic variant, while the optional interior trim strips in smooth matt Carbon Fibre heighten the cabin’s sporting allure.

All Sport Line model and M Sport model variants of the BMW 2 Series Coupe and BMW 2 Series Convertible come with a black kidney grille surround. And new to the options list for the interior is Dakota leather trim with exclusive stitching.

Dark rear lights will also be included in the standard specification for the BMW 3 Series Gran Turismo from March 2019. Cars with the optional Adaptive LED Headlights also have black inserts for the headlight units, which the M Sport model will complement with a BMW kidney grille, exhaust tailpipe embellishers and exterior mirror caps (optional) in High-gloss Black. Added to which, Jet Black 18-inch M light-alloy wheels in star-spoke design and 19-inch M light-alloy wheels in twin-spoke design with Jet Black polished finish and mixed-size tyres are available for M Sport models as a new and exclusive option. In addition, the exterior colour shade Mineral White metallic can be specified for M Sport cars.

BMW 4 Series, BMW M4 Coupe, BMW M4 Convertible: new paint finishes, light-alloy wheels and leather appointments.
The BMW 4 Series will present an even more alluring proposition from March 2019 thanks to new individualisation options. For example, the stylish elegance of the BMW 4 Series Gran Coupe will be showcased to particularly stunning effect by the BMW Individual paint finish Aventurine Red metallic and BMW Individual special paint finish Frozen Dark Grey metallic. The selection of colours available for the BMW 4 Series Coupe and BMW 4 Series Convertible now also includes Mediterranean Blue metallic. Newcomers to the range of optional equipment available for all BMW 4 Series models are 18-inch light-alloy wheels in twin-spoke design and the bi-colour paint variant Orbit Grey, plus 19-inch M light-alloy wheels in twin-spoke design and bi-colour Jet Black with mixed-size tyres.

The interior also contains some new and distinctive touches in the form of the Mocha colour shade for the optional Dakota leather trim on Sport Line, Luxury Line and M Sport cars and interior trim strips in Carbon Fibre, which are available in conjunction with M Sport specification. The M Sport and Sport Line variants of the BMW 4 Series will now be fitted with black rear light screens and a BMW kidney grille surround in High-gloss Black as standard.

Darkened rear lights are also set to adorn the rear of the BMW M4 Coupe and BMW M4 Convertible. The BMW Individual paint finish Frozen Dark Blue II will be offered as an option for the two high-performance models from March 2019. Plus, the BMW M4 Coupe with M Competition package can be ordered with two new bi-colour leather trim options. BMW Individual fine-grain Merino full leather trim is available in the Sakhir Orange/Black and Silverstone/ Black combinations.

Exclusive dynamics: new M Sport Individual equipment line for the BMW 4 Series.
A new and highly desirable addition to the selection of equipment lines available from March 2019 for the BMW 4 Series Coupe, BMW 4 Series Convertible and BMW 4 Series Gran Coupe is the M Sport Individual model. Here, signature M features designed to fuel dynamic driving pleasure team up with suitably exclusive options from BMW Individual. The new equipment line includes the BMW Individual paint finish Tanzanite Blue metallic, an M Aerodynamics package, BMW Individual High-gloss Shadow Line, 19-inch BMW Individual light-alloy wheels in V-spoke design with mixed-size tyres, and variable sport steering. Rear-wheel-drive models also get M Sport suspension.

Among the features engendering a sporty and luxurious ambience in the interior are sports seats for the driver and front passenger, BMW Individual extended leather upholstery Merino in Opal White, heated seats, an M leather steering wheel, the lighting package and BMW Individual interior trim strips in Piano Finish Black. The BMW 4 Series Coupe and BMW 4 Series Gran Coupe add a BMW Individual headliner in Anthracite. Customers can also choose from a wide range of options when it comes to exterior paint finishes, light-alloy wheels, leather upholstery and interior trim strips.

BMW 5 Series range: BMW Individual Composition with M Sport features.
A neatly blended selection of super-exclusive design and equipment features distinguishes the BMW Individual Composition with M Sport features available for the BMW 5 Series Sedan and BMW 5 Series Touring from March 2019. The new option includes BMW Individual paintwork in Azurite Black metallic, Carbon Black metallic, Champagne Quartz metallic, Almandine Brown metallic or Rhodonite Silver metallic, 20-inch BMW Individual light-alloy wheels, BMW Individual extended leather upholstery Merino in Tartufo, Caramel or Smoke White, comfort seats with active seat ventilation, a leather-covered BMW Individual instrument panel, a BMW Individual headliner in Anthracite and BMW Individual interior trim strips.

The exquisite options for the exterior and interior team up with an M Aerodynamics package, M Sport suspension, M Sport braking system, an M leather steering wheel, illuminated M door sill plates, BMW Individual High-gloss Shadow Line trim and kidney grille bars in High-gloss Black. This equipment package also brings LED front foglamps, trapezoidal exhaust tailpipe embellishers in chrome and optional ambient lighting.

BMW 8 Series Coupe now available with a richer variety of paint finishes and leather appointments.
The show-stopping design and luxurious interior ambience of the new BMW 8 Series Coupe can be tailored even more precisely to the owner’s personal style from spring 2019 thanks to a wider array of exterior paint finishes and leather appointments. The spectrum of body colours available has expanded to include the BMW Individual paint finishes Aventurine Red metallic and Tanzanite Blue metallic and the BMW Individual special paint finishes Brilliant White metallic, Frozen Dark Brown metallic, Frozen Arctic Grey metallic, Frozen Cashmere Silver metallic, Frozen Dark Silver metallic, Frozen Brilliant White metallic and Pure Metal Silver metallic.

Meanwhile, BMW Individual fine-grain Merino full leather trim will appeal to those looking to lend a particularly exclusive feel to the design of their car’s interior. It can be ordered in Black, Ivory White and Cognac, as well as the Fiona Red/Black, Tartufo/Black, Ivory White/Tartufo and Midnight Blue/Black combinations. Also new to the options list are BMW Individual fine wood interior trim strips in Black Ash Silver Effect high-gloss.

BMW X5: new exterior colours and leather appointments.
The range of body colour shades and leather appointments for the new BMW X5 will also be further expanded in spring 2019. The Sports Activity Vehicle will now be available with the exterior paint finishes Sophisto Grey Brilliant Effect metallic and Terra Brown metallic and BMW Individual paint finishes Ruby Black metallic, Pyrite Brown metallic, Ametrine metallic and Tanzanite Blue metallic.

A selection of additional options will help customers bring a personalised flavour to the interior of the new BMW X5. New arrivals include BMW Individual extended leather upholstery Merino in Ivory White/Midnight Blue combination and BMW Individual fine-grain Merino full leather trim in Black, Ivory White, Tartufo, Coffee and Ivory White/Midnight Blue. And from April 2019, BMW Individual interior trim strips in Fineline Black fine wood with aluminium inlays will also be available as an option.

Sales get underway of the BMW X2 M35i; BMW X1 xDrive20i, BMW X2 xDrive20i and BMW X1 xDrive25i now with gasoline particulate filter.
The BMW X2 will welcome a new top-of-the-line model variant in spring 2019. The market launch des BMW X2 M35i sees the extrovert design of the compact Sports Activity Coupes link up with an extremely powerful four-cylinder petrol engine. The new 2.0-litre unit with M TwinPower Turbo technology generates maximum output of 225 kW/306 hp and peak torque of 450 Nm (332 lb-ft), and accelerates the BMW X2 M35i from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 5.0 seconds. Power transfer is via an eight-speed Steptronic Sport transmission and BMW xDrive intelligent all-wheel drive. An M Sport braking system and mechanical M Sport differential at the front axle also play their part in endowing the flagship X2 with its standout sporting prowess.

More petrol variants of the BMW X1 and BMW X2 will boast further reduced emissions from March 2019. The BMW X1 xDrive20i (fuel consumption combined: 6.7 l/100 km [42.2 mpg imp]; CO2 emissions combined: 152 g/km), BMW X2 xDrive20i (fuel consumption combined: 6.7 – 6.5 l/100 km [42.2 – 43.5 mpg imp]; CO2 emissions combined: 152 – 147 g/km) and BMW X1 xDrive25i (fuel consumption combined: 6.8 l/100 km [41.5 mpg imp]; CO2 emissions combined: 155 g/km) will now be fitted with a gasoline particulate filter to cut levels of particulate emissions.

Met de wereldpremière van de krachtigste dieselmotor in een productiemodel van BMW en de introductie van drie BMW iPerformance modellen wordt het gamma van de BMW 7 Reeks vanaf de zomer van 2016 nog veelzijdiger en fascinerender. Tegelijkertijd worden de BMW 1 Reeks en de BMW 2 Reeks leverbaar met benzinemotoren van de nieuwste generatie. Een voorbeeld hiervan is de nog sterkere, maar ook efficiëntere zescilinder-in-lijn benzinemotor voor de BMW M Performance modellen BMW M140i (leverbaar als drie- en vijfdeurs), de BMW M240i Coupé en de BMW M240i Cabrio.

Net als de plug-inhybride uitvoeringen van de BMW 7 Reeks zijn de drie nieuwe BMW iPerformance modellen optioneel te voorzien van specifieke designdetails aan de buitenzijde. Andere innovaties zijn de beschikbaarheid vanaf komende zomer van het als optie leverbare telefoonsysteem met draadloze oplaadmogelijkheid en WLAN-hotspot voor meer modellen. In combinatie met het tegen meerprijs leverbare navigatiesysteem Professional is het bedieningssysteem iDrive nu voorzien van een nieuwe, grote menudisplay op basis van de nieuwe ‘tegel-lay-out’ in de BMW 1 Reeks, de BMW 2 Reeks Coupé en de BMW 2 Reeks Cabrio, bepaalde versies van de BMW 3 Reeks en BMW 4 Reeks alsmede de BMW X5 en de BMW X6.

BMW 7 Reeks: Nieuwe high-performance dieselmotor en drie BMW iPerformance versies.
Dankzij de nieuwste technische innovaties, die vanaf de zomer van 2016 leverbaar zijn, vormt de BMW 7 Reeks in de topklasse de maatstaf voor dynamiek en efficiency. Een compleet nieuw ontwikkelde zescilinder-in-lijn dieselmotor debuteert in de BMW 750d xDrive en de BMW 750Ld xDrive. De BMW TwinPower Turbo technologie in de drielitermotor omvat vier turbo’s, waarvan de nauwkeurige aansturing voor een vroege afgifte van de trekkracht zorgt, en die trekkracht blijft beschikbaar tot hoge toerentallen. Met een maximumvermogen van 294 kW (400 pk) en een maximumkoppel van 760 Nm is de nieuwe zescilinder de krachtigste dieselmotor ooit in een BMW. Dankzij de sublieme vermogensafgifte en de standaard intelligente vierwielaandrijving accelereert de BMW 750d xDrive van 0 naar 100 km/u in 4,6 seconden (BMW 750Ld xDrive: 4,7 seconden). Verder kenmerkt de nieuwe top-of-the-range dieselmotor zich door een buitengewoon laag brandstofverbruik, dat uniek is gezien het hoge prestatieniveau. Het gecombineerde brandstofverbruik van de BMW 750d xDrive en de BMW 750Ld xDrive ligt tussen de 5,7 en 5,9 l/100 km en de CO2-emissies liggen tussen 149 en 154 g/km (volgens EU-testcyclus, afhankelijk van gekozen bandenmaat).

De BMW 7 Reeks iPerformance versies zijn net als de nieuwe dieselvarianten leverbaar vanaf de zomer van 2016. De plug-inhybride aandrijving omvat BMW eDrive technologie van BMW i en wordt leverbaar voor de BMW 740e iPerformance met standaardwielbasis, de BMW 740Le iPerformance met lange wielbasis en de BMW 740Le xDrive iPerformance met intelligente vierwielaandrijving. Samen leveren de verbrandingsmotor en de elektromotor in deze versies een systeemvermogen van 240 kW (326 pk), waarbij de intelligente aansturing voor een directe vermogensafgifte en een ongeëvenaarde efficiency zorgt. Ook kan volledig elektrisch een afstand van maximaal 44-48 kilometer worden afgelegd (BMW 740Le xDrive iPerformance: 41-45 kilometer). De sprint van 0 naar 100 km/u vergt 5,4 seconden in de BMW 740e iPerformance, 5,5 seconden in de BMW 740Le iPerformance en 5,3 seconden in de BMW 740Le xDrive iPerformance. Het gemiddelde gecombineerde brandstofverbruik per 100 kilometer ligt tussen de 2,0 en 2,2 liter (BMW 740Le xDrive iPerformance: 2,1-2,5 liter). De CO2-emissie bedraagt afhankelijk van de uitvoering 45-50 g/km (BMW 740e iPerformance), 45-51 g/km (BMW 740Le iPerformance) en 49-56 g/km voor de BMW 740Le xDrive iPerformance (volgens EU-testcyclus voor plug-inhybrides, afhankelijk van gekozen bandenmaat).

BMW M Performance-uitvoeringen van de BMW 1 Reeks en BMW 2 Reeks: nieuwe motorengeneratie met meer vermogen en betere efficiency.
Vanaf juli 2016 wordt het bijzonder sportieve karakter van de BMW M Performance uitvoeringen van de BMW 1 Reeks en de BMW 2 Reeks nog verder onderstreept door een bijzonder krachtige zescilinder benzinemotor van de nieuwste generatie. De nieuw ontwikkelde drielitermotor met M Performance Twin Power Turbo techniek heeft een vermogen van 250 kW (340 pk), wat 10 kW (14 pk) meer is dan de vorige motor. Het maximumkoppel bedraagt 500 Nm. Daardoor leveren de BMW M Performance modellen nu prestaties die vergelijkbaar zijn met die van de BMW 1 Reeks M Coupé, die van 2011 tot 2012 in productie was. Ze leggen de sprint van 0 naar 100 km/u tot 0,3 seconden sneller af dan hun voorganger, terwijl het brandstofverbruik en de CO2-emissies volgens de EU-testcyclus maximaal 7% lager zijn. Het toegenomen vermogen en de extra dynamiek komen ook tot uiting in de nieuwe typeaanduidingen voor de BMW M140i driedeurs en de BMW M140i vijfdeurs, de BMW M240i Coupé en de BMW M240i Cabrio. Ze zijn optioneel verkrijgbaar met de intelligente vierwielaandrijving BMW xDrive.

Met de standaard handgeschakelde zesversnellingsbak sprinten de BMW M140i driedeurs en de BMW M140i vijfdeurs van 0 naar 100 km/u in 4,8 seconden en met de als optie leverbare achttraps Steptronic sporttransmissie in 4,6 seconden. Het brandstofverbruik bedraagt volgens de EU-testcyclus 7,8 l/100 km (automaat: 7,1 l/100 km) en de CO2-emissie 179 g/km (163 g/km). De BMW M140i xDrive driedeurs en de BMW M140i xDrive vijfdeurs worden standaard geleverd met een achttraps Steptronic sporttransmissie en ze bereiken de 100 km/u vanaf stilstand in 4,4 seconden. Hun gecombineerde brandstofverbruik is 7,4 l/100 km en hun CO2-emissie is 169 g/km.

De BMW M Performance versies van de BMW 2 Reeks zijn optioneel leverbaar met intelligente vierwielaandrijving BMW xDrive en zijn dan standaard uitgerust met de achttraps Steptronic sporttransmissie. De BMW M240i Coupe sprint van 0 naar 100 km/u in 4,8 seconden (automaat: 4,6 seconden) en heeft volgens de EU-testcyclus een gecombineerd verbruik van 7,8 l/100 km (7,1 l/100 km). De CO2-emissie bedraagt 179 g/km (163 g/km). De BMW M240i xDrive Coupé sprint van 0 naar 100 km/u in 4,4 seconden en heeft een gemiddeld verbruik van 7,4 l/100 km en een CO2-emissie van 169 g/km.

De BMW M240i Cabrio accelereert van 0 naar 100 km/u in 4,9 seconden (automaat: 4,7 seconden). Het gemiddelde verbruik is 8,3 l/100 km (automaat: 7,4 l/100 km) en de CO2-emissie bedraagt 189 g/km (169 g/km). De BMW M240i xDrive Cabrio sprint van 0 naar 100 km/u in 4,6 seconden en heeft een gemiddeld brandstofverbruik van 7,8 l/100 km (EU-testcyclus) en een CO2-emissie van 179 g/km.

BMW 1 Reeks, BMW 2 Reeks Coupé en BMW 2 Reeks Cabrio: nieuwe viercilinder benzinemotor voor acht versies.
Vanaf juli 2016 zijn tal van uitvoeringen van de BMW 1 Reeks en BMW 2 Reeks leverbaar met motoren van de nieuwe generatie. Twee varianten van de BMW 1 Reeks driedeurs, de BMW 1 Reeks vijfdeurs, de BMW 2 Reeks Coupé en de BMW 2 Reeks Cabrio worden aangedreven door nieuwe viercilinder benzinemotoren die een nog betere combinatie van rijplezier en efficiency bieden. De tweelitermotoren zijn voorzien van de nieuwste BMW TwinPower Turbo technologie met een Twin Scroll turbo, directe brandstofinjectie, VALVETRONIC en Double VANOS. Het vermogen wordt aan de achterwielen afgegeven via een standaard handgeschakelde zesversnellingsbak of optioneel via een achttraps Steptronic-transmissie.

De nieuwe motoren zorgen in de BMW 120i driedeurs en de BMW 120i vijfdeurs voor een vermogenstoename van 5 kW (7 pk) naar 135 kW (184 pk). Met de handgeschakelde zesversnellingsbak of de optioneel verkrijgbare achttraps Steptronic transmissie accelereren beide modellen van 0 naar 100 km/u in 7,1 seconden. Het gecombineerde brandstofverbruik ligt op 5,7-6,1 l/100 km (automaat: 5,5-5,9 l/100 km). De CO2 emissie bedraagt 131-140 g/km (126-135 g/km, volgens EU-testcyclus, afhankelijk van gekozen bandenmaat).
Het vermogen van de BMW 125i driedeurs en de BMW 125i vijfdeurs is met 5 kW (7 pk) toegenomen. Met een vermogen van 165 kW (224 pk) en de inmiddels tot de standaarduitrusting behorende achttraps Steptronic transmissie sprinten beide versies van 0 naar 100 km/u in 6,1 seconden. De verbeterde dynamiek gaat gepaard met een lager brandstofverbruik van 5,7-5,9 l/100 km en een CO2 emissie van 130-134 g/km (volgens EU-testcyclus, afhankelijk van gekozen bandenmaat).

De nieuwe versie van de 135 kW (184 pk) sterke viercilindermotor verbetert ook de efficiency van de BMW 220i Coupé en de BMW 220i Cabrio. De BMW 220i Coupé accelereert van 0 naar 100 km/u in 7,1 seconden (automaat: 7,2 seconden) en heeft een gemiddeld verbruik van 5,7-6,1 l/100 km (5,5-5,9 l/100 km) alsmede een CO2-emissie van 131-140 g/km (126-135 g/km). De BMW 220i Cabrio sprint van 0 naar 100 km/u in 7,5 seconden (7,7 seconden) en het gemiddelde brandstofverbruik bedraagt nu 6,1-6,5 l/100 km (5,7-6,1 liter). De CO2-emissie is 139-149 g/km 131-(140 g/km, volgens EU-testcyclus, afhankelijk van gekozen bandenmaat).

In juli 2016 krijgen de sportiefste viercilinderuitvoeringen van de BMW 2 Reeks een vermogensupgrade van 5 kW (7 pk) naar 185 kW (252 pk) ten opzichte van hun voorgangers, de BMW 230i Coupé en BMW 230i Cabrio. Deze uitvoeringen zijn standaard ook voorzien van een handgeschakelde zesversnellingsbak en optioneel van een achttraps Steptronic of een achttraps Steptronic sport transmissie. De sprint van 0 naar 100 km/u kost de BMW 230i Coupe 5,8 seconden (automaat: 5,6 seconden). Het brandstofverbruik is 6,2-6,4 l/100 km (5,7-5,9 l/100 km) bij een CO2-emissie van 142-147 g/km (130-134 g/km). De BMW 230i Cabrio accelereert van 0 naar 100 km/u in 6,1 seconden (automaat: 5,9 seconden) en heeft een gemiddeld verbruik van 6,5-6,8 l/100 km (6,0-6,2 l/100 km). De CO2-emissie bedraagt 149-155 g/km (137-142 g/km, volgens EU-testcyclus, afhankelijk van gekozen bandenmaat).

Kenmerkende designdetails voor de BMW iPerformance-modellen.
Met de introductie van de eerste plug-inhybride modellen heeft BMW de BMW eDrive techniek – bestaande uit elektromotoren, high-performance lithium-ion-accu’s en intelligent energiemanagement – aan het gamma toegevoegd. Behalve de drie plug-inhybride uitvoeringen van de BMW 7 Reeks met 15 procent bijtelling, die vanaf juli 2016 leverbaar zijn, zijn in drie andere segmenten ook versies leverbaar die een verbrandingsmotor combineren met een elektromotor. Deze dragen voortaan de modelaanduidingen BMW 225xe iPerformance Active Tourer, BMW 330e iPerformance Berline en BMW X5 xDrive40e iPerformance. Dankzij de technologietransfer vanuit BMW i bieden ze een nieuw niveau van dynamiek en een grensverleggende efficiency, wat wordt onderstreept door kenmerkende designdetails aan de buitenzijde.

De BMW iPerformance zijn optioneel te voorzien van specifieke designdetails, zoals een ‘eDrive’ logo op de C-stijlen, een BMW i logo op de zijkanten, blauwe naafdoppen en een BMW-grille met sleuven in de typerende kleur BMW i blue. Vanaf december 2016 zijn deze nieuwe features optioneel leverbaar voor de BMW X5 xDrive40e iPerformance; voor alle overige BMW iPerformance modellen zijn ze al vanaf juli 2016 optioneel leverbaar. Andere uitrustingsdetails die oorspronkelijk voor de BMW i3 en de BMW i8 zijn ontwikkeld, zijn nu ook standaard of optioneel leverbaar voor alle BMW iPerformance modellen. Dit zijn onder meer hybridespecifieke BMW ConnectedDrive services en het complete BMW i 360° ELECTRIC-pakket.

Nieuw van BMW ConnectedDrive: BMW iDrive met een geoptimaliseerd menudisplay, een telefoonsysteem met draadloze oplaadmogelijkheid en een WLAN-hotspot voor meer modellen.
Vanaf de zomer van 2016 zijn drie nieuwe features beschikbaar op het gebied van BMW ConnectedDrive. Die waren voorheen alleen beschikbaar voor de BMW 7 Reeks, de BMW 6 Reeks en de BMW X3 en de BMW X4. Voortaan zijn ze ook beschikbaar voor de BMW 1 Reeks, de BMW 2 Reeks Coupé en de BMW 2 Reeks Cabrio, de BMW 3 Reeks, de BMW 4 Reeks, de BMW X5 en de BMW X6. Een nieuw, bijzonder duidelijk ingedeeld menu en een hogere resolutie voor de Control Display optimaliseren de bediening van de auto, het infotainmentsysteem, het navigatiesysteem en communicatiefuncties via de iDrive controller. In combinatie met het navigatiesysteem Professional toont de display het hoofdmenu en de bedieningsopties voor de diverse functies niet langer in lijsten, maar in de vorm van naast elkaar geplaatste knopsymbolen. Verder is de spraakherkenningsfunctie van het navigatiesysteem Professional aangevuld met de functie Natural Language, waarmee gesproken instructies niet alleen als vooraf bepaalde tekstmodules kunnen worden gegeven, maar ook met vrijelijk geformuleerd in complete zinnen.

Het optionele telefoonsysteem met draadloze oplaadmogelijkheid biedt meer comfort bij het gebruik van mobiele telefoons in de auto. Inductief oplaadbare smartphones kunnen draadloos worden opgeladen tijdens het rijden door ze op de hiervoor bestemde plek op de tunnelconsole te leggen. Niet alleen wordt de smartphone gekoppeld aan het bedieningssysteem van de auto, het nieuwe systeem zorgt ook voor verbinding met de buitenantenne van de auto. Ook omvat het systeem twee USB-poorten en een WLAN hotspotfunctie, die high-speed internet-connectiviteit biedt voor maximaal acht mobiele apparaten.

Groter aanbod aan lederen bekleding voor de M Sport uitvoeringen van de BMW 1 Reeks, BMW 2 Reeks, BMW 3 Reeks en BMW 4 Reeks; nieuw entertainmentsysteem voor de achterpassagiers leverbaar voor de BMW X5 en de BMW X6.
Dankzij nieuwe personaliseringsmogelijkheden voor het interieur zijn de M Sport modellen vanaf juli 2016 nog aantrekkelijker. Doordat die qua kleurstelling perfect past bij de dynamische M Sport, is de lederen bekleding Dakota in de kleur zwart met blauwe stiksels voortaan leverbaar voor de BMW 1 Reeks, de BMW 2 Reeks Coupé, de BMW 2 Reeks Cabrio en voor alle uitvoeringen van de BMW 3 Reeks en de BMW 4 Reeks. In het geval van de BMW 3 Reeks en de BMW 4 Reeks is voor zowel de M Sport als de uitvoeringen Luxury Line en Sport Line nu de bekleding Dakota Veneto Beige verkrijgbaar in combinatie met de interieurkleur zwart.

Upgrade van de motoren van de BMW 4 Reeks – Uitbreiding van het aantal motorisaties die met de intelligente vierwielaandrijving BMW xDrive uitgerust kunnen worden binnen de BMW 7 Reeks en de BMW 2 Reeks Gran Tourer – Nieuwe optionele uitrustingsmogelijkheden voor de BMW 6 Reeks (incl wireless charging) en de BMW 7 Reeks (Incl. BMW, een van de meest succesvolle premiumconstructeurs, staat ook op een goede plaats in het segment van de vierwielaangedreven wagens, een segment waar het merk reeds 30 jaar actief is. Met de nieuwe BMW 2 Reeks Gran Tourer snijdt BMW nog maar eens een nieuw voertuigsegment aan. De baanbrekende BMW 2 Reeks Gran Tourer is ruim, veelzijdig en flexibel en het eerste compacte premiummodel ter wereld met zeven plaatsen, dat volledig beantwoordt aan de mobiliteitsvereisten van jonge gezinnen. De BMW 2 Reeks Coupé en Cabrio verwelkomen nieuwe motorisaties en uitrustingsmogelijkheden – nieuwe instapmotor bij de diesels voor de BMW 2 Reeks Active Tourer, de BMW 3 Reeks Berline, BMW 3 Reeks Touring en 4 Reeks Coupé – première voor de BMW 5 Reeks Edition Sport – nieuwe BMW Individual opties voor de BMW M3 Berline, BMW M4 Coupé en BMW M4 Cabrio – extra standaarduitrusting voor de BMW i8. Vanaf maart 2015 zullen nieuwe basismotoren, een extra vierwielaangedreven model en bijkomende uitrustingsniveaus het keuzeaanbod voor de BMW 2 Reeks Coupé nog versterken. Met de marktlancering van de nieuwe BMW 218i Coupé, wordt een driecilinder-benzinemotor uit de jongste motorfamilie van de BMW Group voor het eerst verkrijgbaar in het sportieve en elegante compacte model. De hypergeavanceerde BMW TwinPower Turbo-technologie van de nieuwe krachtbron combineert een maximumvermogen van 100 kW/136 pk met een voorbeeldige efficiëntie (gemengd brandstofverbruik: 5,6 – 5,1 l/100 km, gemengde CO2-emissies: 130 – 118 g/km)*. Bovendien wordt de intelligente vierwielaandrijving BMW xDrive in 2015 verkrijgbaar op de BMW 220d Coupé. De nieuwe uitrustingsopties breiden het aantal personaliseringsmogelijkheden uit om nog beter in te spelen op de persoonlijke voorkeuren van de bestuurder. Met de presentatie van de BMW 2 Reeks Active Tourer introduceert BMW de functionaliteit van ruimte en comfort, gecombineerd met de typische dynamiek, stijl en elegantie van BMW, naar het segment van compacte luxewagens.
