Bornem. PwC Belgium voegt 300 MINI Aceman en 423 BMW iX1 eDrive20 toe aan zijn vloot, waardoor elektrisch rijden toegankelijk wordt voor een groter aantal medewerkers. “Onze ambitie om tegen 2030 CO₂-neutraal te zijn, stuurt al onze beslissingen,” zegt Patrick Boone, CEO van PwC Belgium. “De elektrificatie van ons wagenpark is een belangrijke stap in het verminderen van onze uitstoot, en we engageren ons om deze overgang zo vlot mogelijk te maken voor onze medewerkers.”

Om deze evolutie te ondersteunen, versterkt het bedrijf ook zijn laadnetwerk: “Thuis opladen blijft een uitdaging, vooral voor jonge collega’s. Daarom installeren we 270 nieuwe laadpalen op kantoor, waarmee we een belangrijke hindernis voor elektrisch rijden wegnemen en veilige, duurzame en praktische woon-werkverplaatsingen garanderen,” legt Patrick Boone, CEO van PwC Belgium, uit. Met deze installatie komt het totaal op 475 laadpalen in alle kantoren van PwC Belgium, wat het opladen op het werk vergemakkelijkt. Dit initiatief maakt deel uit van de bredere duurzaamheidsstrategie van PwC Belgium, die ook investeringen omvat in energie-efficiëntie van gebouwen en het gebruik van hernieuwbare energie.

De sterke samenwerking met BMW Group Belux speelt een cruciale rol in deze aanpak. BMW en PwC Belgium delen een gemeenschappelijke visie op duurzame mobiliteit. De levering van premium elektrische voertuigen stelt medewerkers in staat om zich op een verantwoorde manier te verplaatsen, zowel naar kantoor als naar klanten. “Door tegen 2028 over te schakelen naar een volledig elektrische vloot, bevestigen we onze milieuverantwoordelijkheid en verminderen we actief onze ecologische voetafdruk. Dankzij deze samenwerking kunnen we onze medewerkers bedrijfswagens aanbieden die veilig en duurzaam zijn voor hun professionele verplaatsingen.”

Bovendien is er een belangrijke vernieuwing van het wagenpark aan de gang, waarbij 499 diesel- en hybride voertuigen worden vervangen door volledig elektrische modellen. Dit brengt de totale samenstelling van het wagenpark van PwC Belgium op 90% elektrische en/of hybride voertuigen, waarvan 64% volledig elektrisch. Deze strategische beslissing onderstreept de inzet van PwC Belgium voor duurzame ontwikkeling en het bereiken van de netto-nul uitstoot tegen 2028.

De pionier van rijplezier in het compacte luxesegment gaat zijn vierde modelgeneratie in. Met zijn dynamische stijl, zijn volledig herwerkte rijportfolio en zijn ingrijpend verbeterde chassistechnologie heeft de nieuwe BMW 1 Reeks zijn profiel als sportiefste wagen in zijn segment aangescherpt. Uiterst efficiënte Mild Hybrid-technologie met 48V-batterij (voor de 120 en 120d aandrijvingen) en een productieproces uitgewerkt om grondstoffen te besparen en materialen te recycleren, optimaliseren de duurzaamheid over de volledige levenscyclus van het product. Zijn vooruitstrevende karakter komt ook tot uiting in het hertekende interieur, het uitgebreide gamma geautomatiseerde rijhulp- en parkeersystemen, de nieuwe BMW iDrive met QuickSelect en de innovatieve digitale diensten op basis van het BMW Operating System 9.

De première van de nieuwe BMW 1 Reeks luidt de start van een nieuw hoofdstuk in het twintigjarige succesverhaal van BMW in het compacte segment in. De nieuwe modelgeneratie zal ook van de band lopen in de fabriek van de BMW Group in Leipzig. De marktlancering is gepland voor oktober 2024. De belangrijkste verkoopregio is de Duitse thuismarkt. Naast andere Europese landen behoort ook Japan tot de vijf belangrijkste markten voor de nieuwe BMW 1 Reeks.

Exterieurdesign: Dynamische neus en typische BMW proporties.

De sportieve uitstraling van de BMW 1 Reeks wordt in de nieuwste modelgeneratie onderstreept door typische BMW proporties: een lange motorkap, een ver naar achteren geplaatst passagierscompartiment, een dynamisch aflopende daklijn en een krachtige achterzijde. De afmetingen van het vijfdeursmodel zijn slechts licht gewijzigd ten opzichte van zijn voorganger. De koetswerklengte van de nieuwe BMW 1 Serie is met 42 millimeter toegenomen tot 4.361 millimeter, terwijl de wielbasis 2.670 millimeter lang is. De voertuigbreedte bedraagt 1.800 millimeter, terwijl de hoogte met 25 millimeter is toegenomen tot 1.459 millimeter.

De opvallend vlakke neus, die een stuk dichter bij de weg ligt dan die van zijn voorganger, zet het sportieve karakter van de nieuwe BMW 1 Reeks meer dan ooit in de verf. Het brede, naar voren hellende BMW radiatorrooster heeft een innovatieve structuur van verticale en diagonale spijltjes. De standaard LED Headlights zijn voorzien van opvallende verticale elementen voor de dagrijlichten en richtingaanwijzers. Adaptive LED Headlights met niet-verblindende matrix-grootlichten, hoekverlichting en blauwe accenten zijn als optie verkrijgbaar.

In zijaanzicht kenmerkt de nieuwe BMW 1 Reeks zich door zijn dynamische wigvorm en zijn vlakke raamlijnen die naar achteren toe spits toelopen. De standaard BMW Individual Shadow Line hochglänzend bestaat uit een grafisch element met het nummer 1 in de Hofmeister-knik op de C-stijl. De lange dakspoiler en zijdelingse luchtdeflectoren benadrukken het langgerekte silhouet. De verticale reflectoren en zwarte diffusorinzet dragen bij tot de krachtige uitstraling van de achterschort. De opvallende tweedelige achterlichten lopen door tot in de flanken.

Het koetswerk van de nieuwe BMW 1 Reeks is verkrijgbaar in twee niet-metaalkleuren en zeven metaalkleuren. Daarnaast biedt BMW een brede waaier aan Individual lakafwerkingen en BMW Individual 'Special Request'-lakafwerkingen. Ook is de nieuwe BMW 1 Reeks als eerste model in het BMW gamma verkrijgbaar met een optionele contrasterende dakkleur. De afwerking in Schwarz hochglänzend versterkt de sportieve uitstraling van de wagen.

BMW M model met uniek prestatiekarakter.

Het optionele M Sportpakket en de optionele M sport-designuitrusting die bij de marktintroductie in Europa verkrijgbaar zullen zijn, maken de nieuwe BMW 1 Reeks nog dynamischer. Zijn specifieke M designkenmerken omvatten grote luchtinlaten in de voorschort, uitgesproken zijschorten en een driedimensionale diffusor in de achterschort.

Bovenaan het modelgamma staat de BMW M135 xDrive (gecombineerd brandstofverbruik: 8,1 – 7,6 l/100 km; gecombineerde CO₂-uitstoot: 184 – 173 g/km volgens de WLTP-cyclus; CO₂-klassen: G – F) met sterk verbeterde prestatiekenmerken. Het BMW M model wordt aangedreven door een 221 kW/300 pk sterke viercilinder, beschikt standaard over een adaptieve M sportophanging met Sport Steering en intelligente vierwielaandrijving en sprint in 4,9 seconden van nul naar 100 km/u. Aan de buitenkant maken het horizontale M-radiatorrooster, de M buitenspiegelbehuizingen en de vier uitlaatpijpen hem onmiddellijk herkenbaar als een topmodel. Exclusief voor de BMW M135 xDrive is een M Technical Pack verkrijgbaar, met specifieke ophangingscomponenten, ingrepen die de wagen stijver en lichter maken, een M Compound-remsysteem en 19" gesmede lichtmetalen velgen. Het M Sport Pack Pro en de modelspecifieke BMW M Performance-onderdelen zijn ook voor de andere varianten van de nieuwe BMW 1 Reeks beschikbaar.

Sportieve, hoogwaardige sfeer, ledervrij interieur.

Het nieuw ontworpen interieur van de nieuwe BMW 1 Reeks, dat standaard volledig ledervrij is, biedt een moderne, hoogwaardige sfeer met sportieve accenten en een zee aan ruimte voor maximaal vijf inzittenden. De nieuw ontworpen zetels bieden een hoog comfortpeil voor lange reizen. De sportzetels in de Econeer-versie zijn bekleed met gerecycleerd polyester en als optie zijn M sportzetels verkrijgbaar. Geperforeerde zeteloppervlakken zijn ook verkrijgbaar in de Veganza-versie met lederachtige eigenschappen. De uitrusting Veganza/Alcantara maakt deel uit van het M Sportpakket en is standaard voorzien op de BMW M135 xDrive.

Verwarmbare zetels en een brede waaier aan elektrische verstelmogelijkheden, waaronder een geheugen aan bestuurderszijde, zijn als optie verkrijgbaar op alle zetelversies. De sportzetels en M sportzetels kunnen worden uitgerust met lendensteun. Ook is er een optionele massagefunctie verkrijgbaar voor de sportzetels. Een airbag tussen bestuurder en voorpassagier is voortaan standaard om de inzittenden nog beter te beschermen. Door de rugleuningen van de achterbank neer te klappen, kan de opbergruimte onder de achterklep worden uitgebreid van 380 tot 1.200 liter (BMW 120, BMW 120d: 300 – 1.135 liter).

De hoogwaardige oppervlakken en bekledingen, de hertekende versnellingspook en het BMW Curved Display onderstrepen de vooruitstrevende, luxueuze sfeer in het interieur. Het volledig digitale weergavesysteem bestaat uit een 10,25"-informatiedisplay en een Control Display van 10,7". Het aantal knoppen en bedieningselementen in de cockpit werd aanzienlijk gereduceerd dankzij het consistente gebruik van digitale technologie. Ook de airconditioning van de nieuwe BMW 1 Reeks wordt digitaal geregeld. Als alternatief voor het standaard sportstuur is ook een eveneens hertekend lederen M stuur verkrijgbaar. Het maakt deel uit van het M Sportpakket en beschikt over schakelpaddles om manueel te schakelen.

Nieuwe motorgeneratie, standaard 7-versnellingsbak Steptronic met dubbele koppeling.

Net als de BMW M135 xDrive-motor maken alle andere motoren van de nieuwe BMW 1 Reeks deel uit van de nieuwste generatie modulaire motoren van de BMW Group. De driecilinder benzinemotor van de nieuwe BMW 120 (gecombineerd brandstofverbruik: 6,0 – 5,3 l/100 km; gecombineerde CO₂-uitstoot: 135 – 121 g/km volgens de WLTP-cyclus; CO₂-klassen: D) en de viercilinder dieselmotor van de nieuwe BMW 120d (gecombineerd brandstofverbruik: 4,8 – 4,3 l/100 km; gecombineerde CO₂-uitstoot: 125 – 112 g/km volgens de WLTP-cyclus; CO₂-klassen: D – C) worden gecombineerd met Mild Hybrid-technologie met 48V-batterij, wat zowel hun efficiëntie als hun spontane vermogensontplooiing ten goede komt. Alle aandrijfgehelen brengen hun vermogen standaard over via een 7-versnellingsbak Steptronic met dubbele koppeling.

Met zijn maximumvermogen van 125 kW/170 pk sprint de nieuwe BMW 120 in 7,8 seconden van 0 naar 100 km/u. De nieuwe BMW 120d genereert een vermogen van 120 kW/163 pk en werkt dezelfde sprint af in 7,9 seconden. De BMW 118d, eveneens aangedreven door een viercilinder dieselmotor (gecombineerd brandstofverbruik: 5,2 – 4,6 l/100 km;
gecombineerde CO₂-uitstoot: 136 – 122 g/km over de WLTP-cyclus; CO₂-klassen: E – D) levert 110 kW/150 pk en accelereert in 8,3 seconden van 0 naar 100 km/u.

Verbeterde koetswerkstijfheid en verder ontwikkeld chassis.

De wendbaarheid, stuurprecisie en bochtendynamiek van de nieuwe BMW 1 Reeks plukken de vruchten van de verhoogde stijfheid van de koetswerkstructuur en de verbinding met het chassis. De geavanceerde chassistechnologie omvat een geoptimaliseerde kinematica, sterk voorgespannen antirolstangsteunen en nieuwe schokdempertechnologie. De naspoorhoek van de voorwielen werd met 20 procent verhoogd om een bijzonder stabiele richtingsstabiliteit en geoptimaliseerde stuurfeedback te verzekeren.

Naast de direct gecontroleerde wielslipreductie beschikt de nieuwe BMW 1 Reeks ook standaard over een geïntegreerd remsysteem en 17" lichtmetalen velgen (BMW M135 xDrive: 18"). Het optionele M Sportpakket omvat de adaptieve M sportophanging, die de wagen tot 8 millimeter verlaagt, Sport Steering en 18" lichtmetalen velgen. Als optie zijn tot 19" lichtmetalen velgen en M sportremmen verkrijgbaar.

Geavanceerde systemen voor geautomatiseerd rijden en parkeren.

De nieuwe BMW 1 Reeks beschikt standaard of optioneel over een erg uitgebreid gamma geautomatiseerde rijhulp- en parkeersystemen. Tot de standaarduitrusting behoren het Driving Assistant Pack met botswaarschuwing vooraan, Lane Departure Warning, uitstapwaarschuwing en verkeersbordherkenning, evenals het Parking Assistant Pack met Reversing Assistant.

Hoogtepunten van het optionele gamma zijn de Steering & Lane Control Assistant, de automatische Speed Limit Assist en de routegeleiding bij gebruik van de Active Cruise Control met Stop&Go functie. Het Parking Assistant Pack Professional is eveneens beschikbaar voor de nieuwe BMW 120 en de nieuwe BMW 120d, zodat hij met een smartphone geparkeerd en gemanoeuvreerd kan worden.

Uitgebreide standaarduitrusting, gerichte personalisering.

Naast de hoogwaardige rijhulpsystemen omvat de uitgebreide standaarduitrusting van de nieuwe BMW 1 Reeks ook een automatische airconditioning, een alarmsysteem, elektrisch inklapbare buitenspiegels en de BMW Live Cockpit Navigation Plus met het cloudondersteunde navigatiesysteem BMW Maps. Nieuwe optionele uitrustingspakketten maken een gerichte personalisering mogelijk.

Het innovatiepakket omvat de BMW Live Cockpit Navigation Professional met BMW Head-Up Display en Augmented View op het Control Display, alsook het Parking Assistant Pack Plus. Het Premium Pack omvat de telefoon met wireless charging, de comforttoegang, de logoprojectie in de buitenspiegels, de automatisch dimmende binnenspiegel en de Adaptieve LED Headlights. Het optiegamma omvat ook een automatische airconditioning met twee zones, een panoramisch doorschijnend schuifdak en een Harman Kardon-soundsystem.

Het nieuwe BMW Operating System 9, BMW iDrive met QuickSelect en BMW Digital Premium.

De nieuwe BMW 1 Reeks beschikt over de nieuwste versie van BMW iDrive met QuickSelect om de functies van de wagen intuïtief en gemakkelijk te bedienen. Het nieuwe startscherm geeft functiepictogrammen verticaal weer op hetzelfde niveau. 'QuickSelect' verzekert een directe toegang tot functies zonder dat u naar een submenu hoeft over te schakelen. De nieuwe BMW iDrive is consequent ontworpen voor aanraakbediening en spraakbediening. Hij is gebaseerd op het BMW Operating System 9, dat ook de basis vormt voor de sterk gepersonaliseerde selectie van bijkomende digitale diensten. Met software-upgrades op afstand kunnen nieuwe en verbeterde voertuigfuncties ‘over-the-air’ in de wagen worden geïntegreerd. Met BMW ConnectedDrive Upgrades kunnen klanten bepaalde functies ook gratis uittesten voor een periode van een maand en ze vervolgens voor een specifieke periode boeken. Het nieuwe aanbod van BMW Digital Premium kan ook voor de nieuwe BMW 1 Reeks worden geboekt in de BMW ConnectedDrive Store.

BMW Digital Premium maakt het mogelijk om landspecifieke apps, zoals muziek- en videostreaming, nieuws of gaming, te gebruiken in de wagen als onderdeel van een abonnement. Het aanbod omvat ook het datagebruik voor alle digitale diensten en de apps in de BMW ConnectedDrive Store. BMW Digital Premium breidt tevens de functies van het navigatiesysteem BMW Maps uit, evenals de keuze aan My Modes en de verlichting voor de welkomstanimatie. In bepaalde landen maakt BMW Digital Premium het ook mogelijk om parkeerkosten en brandstoffacturen digitaal te betalen vanuit de wagen.

Smartphone-integratie met Apple CarPlay® en Android Auto™ is standaard in de nieuwe BMW 1 Reeks. De BMW ID en My BMW App bieden een handige manier om de gebruikerservaring van de nieuwe BMW 1 Reeks te personaliseren. De BMW Digital Key Plus met draadloze ultrawideband-technologie voor compatibele smartphones met de besturingssystemen iOS of Android en de Apple Watch kan ook als optie worden ingesteld via de My BMW App.

Munich. The sales launch of the BMW iX and the BMW i4 in November 2021 marks the beginning of a new era of purely electric premium mobility. In addition to sustainable driving pleasure, the two new models also offer the latest innovations in the field of driver assistance systems and, with the new generation of the BMW iDrive operating system, represent the future of intuitive interaction between driver and vehicle. Parallel to this, the BMW model range will also undergo targeted further development in autumn 2021. Additional drive variants and innovations in the areas of design and digital services increase the diversity and attractiveness of the current range.

The model range of the new BMW 4 Series Convertible will be expanded by three new drive variants from November 2021. In future, an 8-speed Steptronic transmission will be standard equipment for one additional model variant each of the BMW X1 and the BMW X2. New paint finishes are available for the BMW 1 Series, BMW 2 Series Gran Coupé, BMW X2, BMW X3 and BMW X4 models. The functional scope of the My BMW App is complemented by further digital services. The BMW i brand is not only setting trends with its two new models. The pioneer of all-electric premium mobility, the BMW i3, will be offered in a limited Unique Forever Edition from November 2021. And in the BMW iX3, a predictive battery heat management system will optimise the way in which DC fast charging stations will be used in the future.

BMW 4 Series Convertible: Two additional BMW M automobiles and a further all-wheel drive model.
The combination of sporty performance and open-air pleasure in a BMW 4 Series model will be enriched even further in autumn 2021. In the new BMW M 440i Convertible (combined fuel consumption: 8.3 – 7.7 l/100 km according to WLTP; combined CO₂ emissions: 190 - 175 g/km according to WLTP), a 275 kW/374 hp inline 6-cylinder petrol engine with 48-volt mild hybrid technology ensures particularly purist driving pleasure by transferring its power to the rear wheels. An 8-speed Steptronic sports transmission and an M sports differential in the final drive also contribute to the thrilling driving dynamics as standard. This is reflected, among other things, by accerlation from 0 - 100 km/h from standstill in 5.2 seconds.

An inline 6-cylinder diesel engine and the intelligent BMW xDrive all-wheel drive system make the second new BMW M automobile a thrilling open-top drive. With a peak output of 250 kW/340 hp, a maximum torque of 700 Nm and 48-volt mild hybrid technology, the new BMW M440d xDrive Convertible (combined fuel consumption: 6.6 – 6.0 l/100 km according to WLTP; combined CO₂ emissions: 172 - 157 g/km according to WLTP) has impressive pulling power. 5.0 seconds are sufficient for the sprint from 0 to 100 km/h. An 8-speed Steptronic sports transmission and an M sports differential are also standard equipment in this model variant.

In addition, the model range for the open-top four-seater in the premium mid-size segment is expanded to include the new BMW 430i xDrive Convertible (combined fuel consumption: 8.1 – 7.3 l/100 km according to WLTP; combined CO₂ emissions: 183 - 166 g/km according to WLTP). With its 180 kW/245 hp 4-cylinder petrol engine, an 8-speed Steptronic transmission and intelligent all-wheel drive, it accelerates from zero to 100 km/h in 6.3 seconds. The 8-speed Steptronic sports transmission and the M sports differential are optionally available for this model.

BMW X1 xDrive18d and BMW X2 xDrive18d now feature 8-speed Steptronic transmission as standard.
Driving pleasure and comfort will be enhanced in autumn 2021 as the 8-speed Steptronic transmission is included in further model variants of the BMW X1 and BMW X2 as standard. The fast and efficient automatic transmission is characterised by a high level of shifting comfort and a particularly favourable internal efficiency. In future, it will also be available as standard with the 110 kW/150 hp 4-cylinder diesel engine of the BMW X1 xDrive18d models (combined fuel consumption: 6.1 – 5.4 l/100 km according to WLTP; combined CO₂ emissions: 159 – 142 g/km according to WLTP) and the BMW X2 xDrive18d (combined fuel consumption: 6.1 – 5.4 l/100 km according to WLTP; combined CO₂ emissions: 160 - 142 g/km according to WLTP).

With the new drive combination, both models accelerate from zero to 100 km/h in 9.4 seconds. An optional 8-speed Steptronic sports transmission is also available, operated by paddle shifts on the steering wheel.

New paint finishes for numerous model series.
New paint finishes for numerous current BMW models allow for additional customisation opportunities. The Skyscraper Grey metallic variant will be available for the BMW 1 Series, the BMW X2 and the BMW X3 from November 2021. Also new to the range are the BMW Individual paint finishes Frozen Pure Grey metallic for the BMW 1 Series and the BMW 2 Series Gran Coupé, as well as Aventurine Red metallic for the BMW X3 and the BMW X4.

My BMW App with extended range of functions.
Planning travel routes and transferring them to the car, receiving information about the car’ status and live images from its surroundings, arranging service appointments or receiving news from the brand - the My BMW app makes all this possible on the customer's smartphone. It serves as a universal interface for communication between car and customer, the BMW brand and the BMW dealer. The range of functions of the My BMW App will be expanded again in autumn 2021. In future, for example, the images transmitted by the Remote 3D View service will be stored in a gallery, including information about the location and time of the shots. The status of the vehicle's air conditioning and ventilation is now also clearly displayed in the My BMW app.

In addition, the My BMW app now also provides drivers with comprehensive information on the condition of the vehicle's tyres on their smartphone. This new feature helps to minimise the risk of breakdowns and is available for the BMW 1 Series, BMW 3 Series and BMW 4 Series models, the new BMW 2 Series Coupé, the BMW 2 Series Gran Coupé, the BMW Z4 as well as the BMW X5, BMW X6 and BMW X7. The My BMW app displays the wheel-specific values as measured by the tyre pressure system. In addition, the digital tyre diagnosis, which is unique in the competitive environment, can also transmit information about a defect or wear of the tyres via the My BMW app. In the BMW backend, the data from the tyre pressure control system is processed together with the values for temperature and wheel speeds to create a forecast of the remaining life of the tyres. As a supplement to tyre pressure control, indications of tyre damage are also registered.

Intelligent battery heat management for the BMW iX3.
To ensure the fastest and most efficient power feed at DC fast-charging stations, regardless of operating and outside temperatures, the BMW iX3 (combined power consumption: 19.0 - 18.6 L/100 km according to WLTP, 18.5 - 18.9 L/100 km according to NEDC) will be equipped with intelligent thermal management for the high-voltage battery as in the BMW i4 / BMW iX from November 2021. As soon as the active route guidance of the navigation system foresees a stopover at a High Power Charging Station, it already ensures that the battery is automatically preconditioned before arrival.

The appropriate heating or cooling ensures that the high-voltage battery is at the ideal temperature for charging at maximum power on arrival. The thermal management takes into account, among other things, the battery temperature, the remaining range, the predicted charging power and the planned scope of the charging process as part of the overall route calculation.

BMW i3 and BMW i3s in the Unique Forever Edition.
From November 2021, the BMW i3 models (combined electricity consumption: 16.3 - 15.3 L/100 km according to WLTP, 13.1 L/100 km according to NEDC and BMW i3s (combined electricity consumption: 16.6 - 16.3 L/100 km according to WLTP, 14.6 - 14.0 L/100 km according to NEDC) in the Unique Forever Edition. The naming of the new special edition refers to the unique character of the world's first premium automobile designed from the outset for purely electric mobility. The BMW i3 represents a holistic understanding of sustainability not only with its drive system, but also with its particularly lightweight passenger cell made of carbon fibre-reinforced plastic (CFRP) and extensive use of natural and recycled materials in its interior. Eight years after being launched on the market, it is still a globally recognised symbol of locally emission-free urban mobility.

The edition vehicles are characterised by particularly high-grade and exclusive design and equipment features. The two BMW Individual paint finishes, available for the first time for the BMW i3, ensure a stylish appearance. The Aventurine Red metallic variant is combined with an accent in Frozen Grey metallic and the Storm Bay metallic paint finish with an accent in Frozen E-Copper. The interior surfaces of the BMW grille are also finished in the respective accent colour. Other special features include the omission of the trim strip and model lettering on the luggage compartment lid and a black insert for the rear bumper. In the interior of the edition vehicles, the contents of the Suite equipment world - including the Vernasca Dark Truffle leather combination, the leather instrument panel, the fine wood surface in dark matt oak, the leather steering wheel, the Carum grey roof lining and the ambient lighting - are supplemented by specific design elements. The front headrests are embroidered with the words "Unique Forever", the door trim panels in the area of the exterior mirrors bear the inscription "One of 2,000“.

The Unique Forever Edition models are produced in a limited edition of 2,000 units at the BMW plant in Leipzig. Only electricity generated by the wind turbines on the factory premises is used.

Munich. Increased efficiency through consistent electrification, optimised emissions and innovations in the areas of driver assistance and digital services are the focus of the model revision measures for numerous BMW model series that will take effect in autumn 2020. From November 2020, all models of the premium brand will meet the requirements of the currently strictest exhaust emission standard Euro 6d. In the BMW 5 Series, the range of plug-in hybrid models has been extended by three new variants. New inline 6-cylinder diesel engines and 48-volt mild hybrid technology lower fuel consumption and emissions of selected models in the BMW 3 Series and BMW 8 Series. In addition, further engines will supplement the drive portfolio of the BMW 1 Series and the BMW 2 Series Gran Coupé.

Efficiency becomes more diverse: World premiere for five plug-in hybrid models in the BMW 5 Series.
The range of BMW models with electrified drive systems will also be consistently expanded in autumn 2020. The expanded range of the following electrified models is especially attractive: BMW 545e xDrive Sedan (fuel consumption combined: 2.3 – 2.2 l/100 km; combined power consumption: 16.3 – 15.8 kWh/100 km; combined CO₂ emissions: 53 – 49 g/km; electric range: 47 – 57 km), BMW 530e Touring (combined fuel consumption: 2.0 – 1.8 l/100 km; combined power consumption: 16.1 – 15.4 kWh/100 km; combined CO₂ emissions: 46 – 42 g/km; electric range: 52 – 57 km (WLTP)) and BMW 530e xDrive Touring (combined fuel consumption: 2.4 – 2.2 l/100 km; combined power consumption: 16.7 – 16.1 kWh/100 km; combined CO₂ emissions: 54 – 50 g/km; electric range: 48 – 53 km (WLTP)). The BMW 5 Series model range now already includes five plug-in hybrid variants. In the upper mid-size class, BMW offers the largest selection of models with electrified drive.

In the new BMW 545e xDrive Sedan, an inline 6-cylinder petrol engine and an electric drive integrated into the 8-speed Steptronic transmission deliver impressive driving dynamics in a particularly efficient manner. The power of the two drive units adds up to a maximum system output of 290 kW/394 hp and is distributed between the front and rear wheels as required by the intelligent BMW xDrive all-wheel drive. The brand’s hallmark combination of energy efficiency and sportiness also characterises the new Touring models, whose plug-in hybrid system consists of a 4-cylinder petrol engine and an electric drive system also integrated into the 8-speed Steptronic transmission. Together they generate a system output of up to 215 kW/292 hp in the XtraBoost mode when load requirements are particularly high.

Increased dynamic performance and reduced fuel consumption: New inline 6-cylinder diesel engines with 48-volt mild hybrid technology in the BMW 3 Series and BMW 8 Series.
With the introduction of 48-volt mild hybrid technology in additional models, BMW continues to consistently reduce fuel consumption and emissions in its current vehicle fleet. This is linked to the introduction of a new generation of inline 6-cylinder diesel engines. As of autumn 2020, four mid-size models of the BMW 3 Series and three luxury sports cars of the BMW 8 Series will offer noticeably more dynamic performance and increased efficiency.

This twofold and BMW typical progress is achieved through further advanced BMW TwinPower Turbo technology and additionally with the aid of a particularly powerful starter generator and an additional battery. The dynamic power delivery when starting off and accelerating is enhanced by the additional power of 8 kW/11 hp spontaneously provided by the 48-volt starter generator. In other load ranges the electric drive can relieve the combustion engine and thus increase its efficiency. The power required for this is generated by intensive recuperation in braking and thrust phases and stored in a 48-volt battery, which also supplies the vehicle’s electrical system.

The 48-volt mild hybrid technology will be used in four further BMW 3 Series models from November 2020. In the new BMW 330d Sedan (combined fuel consumption: 4.7 – 4.4 l/100 km*; combined CO₂ emissions: 125 – 116 g/km*) and the new BMW 330d Xdrive Sedan (combined fuel consumption: 5.0 – 4.7 l/100 km*; combined CO₂ emissions: 132 – 123 g/km*) and the new BMW 330d Touring (combined fuel consumption: 4.8 – 4.5 l/100 km*; combined CO₂ emissions: 128 – 119 g/km*) and the new BMW 330d Xdrive Touring (combined fuel consumption: 5.2 – 4.8 l/100 km*; combined CO₂ emissions: 136 – 127 g/km), it supports the new inline 6-cylinder diesel engine, which already provides additional driving pleasure with its maximum output increased by 15 kW/21 hp to 210 kW/286 hp. Thanks to a two-stage turbocharging system and an advanced common rail injection system whose piezo injectors now inject the fuel with up to ten injections per working cycle and a maximum pressure of 2 700 bar into the combustion chambers, engine response and efficiency of the 3.0 litre engine are optimised. The new diesel engine generates its maximum torque, which has been increased by 30 to 650 Nm, between 1 500 and 2 500 rpm. The increased power of the combustion engine and the additional electrical power noticeably improve the car’s sprint capacity. For example, the new BMW 330d Sedan improves its acceleration from zero to 100 km/h by 0.2 seconds to now 5.3 seconds.

In the BMW 8 Series, 48-volt mild hybrid technology is combined with an equally new and even more powerful 3.0-litre diesel engine. The BMW 840d xDrive Coupé models (fuel consumption combined: 5.8 – 5.6 l/100 km*; combined CO₂ emissions: 154 - 146 g/km), BMW 840d xDrive Convertible (fuel consumption combined: 6.0 – 5.7 l/100 km*; combined CO₂ emissions: 159 – 151 g/km) and BMW 840d xDrive Gran Coupé (combined fuel consumption: 5.9 – 5.6 l/100 km*; combined CO₂ emissions: 155 - 148 g/km) will be powered by a 250 kW/340 hp inline 6-cylinder engine in the future. The 15 kW/20 hp increase in top-level output also results from further advanced BMW TwinPower Turbo technology. It now includes a multi-stage turbocharger with variable turbine geometry for the high-pressure and low-pressure stages. The maximum torque of 700 Nm is generated alreadybetween 1 750 and 2 250 rpm. In the luxury sports car model range, the new drive technology enables the BMW 840d xDrive Coupé, for example, to improve its acceleration figure from a standing start to 100 km/h by 0.1 seconds to 4.8 seconds. The optimised performance characteristics of the diesel engine are accompanied by precisely adapted fine tuning of the chassis and its control systems.

The new diesel engines for the BMW 3 Series and the BMW 8 Series also represent the latest state of the art with regard to emissions. They feature exhaust gas treatment technology, whose engine-proximate components consist of a diesel oxidation catalytic converter and an SCR coating on the diesel particulate filter. In order to optimally reduce nitrogen oxide (NOX) emissions, a second metering unit is additionally integrated at the outlet of the engine-proximate SCR system.

BMW 1 Series, BMW 2 Series Gran Coupé: Additional engines and new optional extras.
New engines will be available from November 2020 for the BMW 1 Series and the BMW 2 Series Gran Coupé. The new BMW 116i (combined fuel consumption: 5.8 – 5.4 l/100 km*; combined CO₂ emissions: 133 – 124 g/km) is powered by a 3-cylinder petrol engine with an output of 80 kW/109 hp and a maximum torque of 190 Nm. It is equipped as standard with a manual 6-speed transmission and accelerates from zero to 100 km/h in 10.6 seconds. A 7-speed Steptronic transmission with double clutch is optionally available. In addition, the model range will be expanded to include the new BMW 120i (fuel consumption combined: 5.8 – 5.5 l/100 km*; combined CO₂ emissions: 134 – 126 g/km). Its 4-cylinder petrol engine generates a maximum output of 131 kW/178 hp and a maximum torque of 280 Nm and is combined as standard with a 7-speed Steptronic transmission with double clutch. The new BMW 120i accelerates from a standing start to 100 km/h in 7.0 seconds.

Outstanding economy is the hallmark of the new entry-level diesel engine for the BMW 2 Series Gran Coupé. The 3-cylinder diesel engine of the new BMW 216d Gran Coupé (fuel consumption combined: 4.1 – 3.8 l/100 km*; combined CO₂ emissions: 108 – 99 g/km) provides a maximum output of 85 kW/116 hp and a maximum torque of 270 Nm. It transmits its power to a 7-speed Steptronic transmission with double clutch as standard and enables acceleration from zero to 100 km/h in 10.3 seconds.

The range of optional equipment for the BMW 1 Series and the BMW 2 Series Gran Coupé is supplemented by the BMW Individual Shadow Line lights. With the black inserts at the upper edge of the headlamps they make the front view even more powerfully expressive.

Urban Cruise Control: Increased comfort and optimised safety when driving in urban traffic.
The increased level of comfort and safety achieved through combined speed and distance control will also be available in numerous current BMW models when driving in city traffic from autumn 2020 onwards. In conjunction with the optional Driving Assistant Professional, the Urban Cruise Control function is available in the BMW 3 Series and BMW 5 Series, the BMW 6 Series Gran Turismo, the BMW 8 Series and the BMW X5, BMW X6, BMW X7, BMW M5, BMW M8, BMW X5 M and BMW X6 M model series. It extends the range of functions of the Active Cruise Control with Stop & Go function by a traffic light recognition function. In addition to vehicles and traffic signs ahead, traffic lights registered by the stereo camera are also taken into account.

In the case of traffic light signals that are clearly related to the lane you are travelling, these are automatically registered by the speed and distance control system. If the traffic light is red, the system decelerates the vehicle to a standstill. A green light signals the continuation of the journey. In a more complex intersection situation where, for example, different light signals apply to different lanes, a traffic light symbol is displayed in the instrument cluster. The driver can then confirm the light signal shown there and continue to use the automatic speed and distance control or control the speed himself. For additional comfort in city traffic there is a drive reminder function. While stationary at a traffic light, the current traffic light phase is displayed in the instrument cluster; at the beginning of the green phase, the driver also receives a signal to start driving.

The Urban Cruise Control function can also be integrated into the car at a later date by means of a Remote Software Upgrade. With the exception of the BMW 8 Series models, this option is available for vehicles of all the above-mentioned series produced from July 2020 onwards and which are equipped with the Driving Assistant Professional.

New digital services for more driving pleasure: BMW News, BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant with new functions, personal profile picture and simple log-in.
The latest generation of the display and control system makes it possible to use new digital services in numerous current BMW models. The BMW Operating System 7, which is available in conjunction with BMW Live Cockpit, BMW Live Cockpit Plus or BMW Live Cockpit Professional, allows the driver to customise what is displayed to a very high degree. From November 2020, audio content will also be tailored to the driver’s wishes and needs with BMW News. Based on the driver’s individual interests, current online news is selected from publisher offerings and broadcast in the form of naturally spoken language via the vehicle's audio system.

The BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant is one of the particularly innovative services that features in current models with BMW Operating System 7. The digital companion, which enables intuitive operation of numerous vehicle functions via voice control (“Hey, BMW”), is constantly gaining new capabilities. From autumn 2020, the operating modes MAX eDrive and AUTO eDrive or ELECTRIC and HYBRID can also be activated in the appropriately equipped plug-in hybrid models by means of a naturally spoken instruction.

Optimised options for creating a driver profile allow further customisation opportunities. From November 2020, the driver can no longer only login by entering the BMW ID manually, but also via the My BMW App as well, making the process very convenient. A QR code generated for this purpose can be displayed on the Control Display, which can be scanned using a smartphone. The personal driver profile data can then be transferred to the vehicle. Also new: The driver can add a photo of his choice to his individual profile.

BMW X1 and BMW X2: New headlamp variants and BMW Individual High Gloss Shadow Line with extended features.
Adaptive LED headlights will be available for the compact BMW X2 Sports Activity Coupé from November 2020. They optimise visibility when driving at night, among other things by means of a high beam matrix function. This feature is able to increase the range of vision while at the same time avoiding any dazzle effect on other road users. To achieve this, the high beam is divided into several LED segments that can be activated and deactivated independently of each other to adapt how the road is illuminated to the respective traffic situation.

In addition, the striking BMW Individual Shadow Line lights are available as a new option for the BMW X2 and the BMW X1. The sporty appearance of the BMW X2 can be further enhanced by the BMW Individual High Gloss Shadow Line with extended features. In addition to the high-gloss black side window surrounds, this option includes a black frame for the BMW kidney grille and tailpipe trims in chrome black.

New paint finishes allow for expressive individualisation.
New additions to the range of paint finishes for numerous models will be introduced in autumn 2020 allowing for even greater levels of individualisation. The new San Remo Green metallic paint finish will also be available for the new BMW 4 Series Coupé in future. For the BMW X5, BMW X6 and BMW X7, the colours Dravit Grey metallic and Sparkling Brown metallic have been added to the range. In addition, the BMW Individual special paintwork finishes Grigio Telesto metallic, Urban Green metallic, Frozen Black metallic, Petrol Mica metallic, Ruby Red metallic, Avus Blue metallic and British Racing Green metallic are also available for the large BMW X models. 

For the BMW i3 (combined fuel consumption: 0.0 l/100 km; combined power consumption: 13.1 kWh/100 km; combined CO₂ emissions: 0 g/km) and BMW i3s (combined fuel consumption: 0.0 l/100 km; combined power consumption: 14.6 – 14.0 kWh/100 km; combined CO₂ emissions: 0 g/km) new paint finishes will also be available from November 2020. The purely electrically driven models will be available with paint finishes in Cashmere Silver with accents in BMW i Blue and Galvanic Gold with accents in Frozen Grey metallic and Fluid Black with accents in Frozen Grey metallic.

With the introduction of 48-volt mild hybrid technology in additional model series from summer 2020, BMW continues to consistently reduce fuel consumption and emissions in its current vehicle fleet. From July and August 2020, both efficiency and dynamic performance will be optimised in 51 models with the use of a particularly powerful starter generator and an additional battery. This also applies to the new in-line 6-cylinder diesel engines in the BMW 7 Series and in the BMW X3, BMW X4, BMW X5, BMW X6 and BMW X7. Two additional engine variants are available for the BMW 2 Series Gran Coupé from July 2020 onwards. In numerous plug-in hybrid models, the new BMW eDrive Zone function will ensure an automatic switch to purely electric operating mode when entering inner city areas such as low emission zones.

The extension of the range of standard and optional equipment features in the areas of driver assistance systems, operation and networking contributes to an increase in driving pleasure. A new display and control system will be part of the standard trim in the new BMW 3 Series from July 2020. Among other things, BMW Operating System 7 enables use of the optional BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant. Furthermore, in the BMW 3 Series and other model series the range of functions of the optional Driving Assistant Professional is supplemented by Active Navigation Guidance and the Emergency Lane Assistant.

Increased dynamic performance and reduced fuel consumption: 48-volt mild hybrid technology now in 51 BMW models.
From summer 2020 onwards, mild hybrid technology will be used in numerous additional BMW models to provide support and relief for the combustion engine. It consists of a 48-volt starter generator that enables particularly intensive braking energy recuperation along with an additional battery to store the electricity that is generated in this way. The 48-volt battery not only supplies the electrically operated vehicle functions, it also makes its energy available to generate additional drive power. For this purpose the current flows back to the starter generator, which now takes on the role of an electric drive. This reduces the load on the combustion engine, allowing it to run as often as possible in an efficiency-optimised load range. What is more, the generator creates an electric boost during acceleration. This instantly available additional output of 8 kW/11 hp supports dynamic power delivery during start and acceleration.

The 48-volt mild hybrid technology was first introduced in selected model variants of the BMW 5 Series in autumn 2019. This was followed by the BMW 3 Series models and several BMW X models. From July and August 2020, it will be available as standard in 37 further model variants of the BMW 3 Series, BMW 5 Series, BMW 6 Series and BMW 7 Series as well as the BMW X3, BMW X4, BMW X5, BMW X6 and BMW X7. All in all it will ensure efficiency and dynamic performance in 51 current BMW models.

More power, less emissions: the new in-line 6-cylinder diesel engines with optimised BMW TwinPower Turbo Technology.
A new generation of in-line 6-cylinder engines will make its debut in numerous BMW model series in summer 2020. These highly efficient aluminium power units, each with a capacity of 3.0 litres, combine their extensively further developed BMW TwinPower Turbo Technology with the new 48-volt mild hybrid system, thereby achieving particularly significant progress within the context of BMW EfficientDynamics. In addition to optimised turbocharging systems, the latest version of common rail direct injection with piezo injectors ensures that both performance and efficiency are significantly increased in the new diesel engines. The injectors now transport fuel to the combustion chambers in up to ten injections per cycle and at a maximum pressure of 2,700 bar.

With maximum output increased by 15 kW/21 hp to 210 kW/286 hp, the new diesel engine for the models BMW 730d (combined fuel consumption: 4.9 – 4.7 l/100 km; combined CO₂ emissions: 128 – 123 g/km) and BMW 730d xDrive (combined fuel consumption: 5.2 – 5.0 l/100 km; combined CO₂ emissions: 138 – 133 g/km), BMW 730Ld (combined fuel consumption: 5.0 – 4.8 l/100 km; combined CO₂ emissions: 130 – 126 g/km), BMW 730Ld xDrive (combined fuel consumption: 5.3 – 5.1 l/100 km; combined CO₂ emissions: 139 – 133 g/km), BMW X3 xDrive30d (combined fuel consumption: 5.6 – 5.2 l/100 km; combined CO₂ emissions: 147 – 137 g/km), BMW X4 xDrive30d (combined fuel consumption: 5.6 – 5.1 l/100 km; combined CO₂ emissions: 146 – 136 g/km), BMW X5 xDrive30d (combined fuel consumption: 6.2 – 5.7 l/100 km; combined CO₂ emissions: 164 – 150 g/km) und BMW X6 xDrive30d (combined fuel consumption: 6.2 – 5.7 l/100 km; combined CO₂ emissions: 162 – 149 g/km) demonstrates a perceptibly enhanced temperament. Its particularly spontaneous power delivery is due to the multi-stage turbocharging used for the first time in this version of the in-line 6-cylinder diesel engine, along with variable turbine geometry for the low-pressure stage of the system. Increased by 30 to 650 Nm, the maximum torque of the new drive unit goes on stream at between 1,500 and 2,500 rpm – a power boost that especially results in enhanced sprint capacity. For example, the BMW 730d and the BMW 730d xDrive have improved their acceleration from zero to 100 km/h by 0.2 seconds each to 5.9 and 5.6 seconds respectively.

The new diesel engine now also used in the BMW 740d xDrive models BMW 740d xDrive (combined fuel consumption: 5.4 – 5.2 l/100 km; combined CO₂ emissions: 142 – 136 g/km), BMW 740Ld xDrive (combined fuel consumption: 5.4 – 5.2 l/100 km; combined CO₂ emissions: 143 – 137 g/km), BMW X3 M40d (combined fuel consumption: 6.0 – 5.6 l/100 km; combined CO₂ emissions: 157 – 148 g/km), BMW X4 M40d (combined fuel consumption: 5.9 – 5.6 l/100 km; combined CO₂ emissions: 156 – 147 g/km) und BMW X7 xDrive40d (combined fuel consumption: 6.6 – 6.4 l/100 km; combined CO₂ emissions: 173 – 167 g/km) generates even greater pulling power. Its multi-stage turbocharging system comprises a high-pressure and a low-pressure turbocharger with variable turbine geometry. As a result, a maximum torque of 700 Nm is delivered between 1,750 and 2,250 rpm. The engine reaches its peak output of 250 kW/340 hp at 4 400 rpm. In the BMW 740d xDrive, for example, this increased power helps achieve a sprint from standstill to 100 km/h that is also improved by 0.2 seconds to 5.0 seconds.

The two new engines are feature exhaust gas treatment technology with engine-related components consisting of a diesel oxidation catalytic converter and an SCR coating on the diesel particulate filter. For optimum reduction of nitrogen oxide (NO_X) emissions, a second dosage unit is additionally integrated at the outlet of the engine-related SCR system. As a result, the models powered by the new in-line 6-cylinder diesel engines meet the Euro 6d emissions standard.

Expansion of the model range for the BMW 2 Series Gran Coupé.
The BMW 2 Series Gran Coupé model range will be extended from July 2020 with the addition of two new engine variants. A new entry-level diesel engine and an additional all-wheel drive model variant are available for the sporty, elegant four-door model in the premium compact segment. The new BMW 218d Gran Coupé (combined fuel consumption: 4.5 – 4.2 l/100 km; combined CO₂ emissions: 118 – 109 g/km) is powered by the latest version of a 4-cylinder diesel engine. The BMW TwinPower Turbo Technology in the 2.0-litre power unit now includes a two-stage turbocharging system as well as a likewise further developed common rail direct injection featuring solenoid valve injectors. The new engine delivers its maximum torque of 350 Nm between 1,750 and 2,500 rpm, reaching a maximum output of 110 kW/150 hp at 4,000 rpm. The new BMW 218d Gran Coupé accelerates from zero to 100 km/h in 8.6 seconds with the standard 6-speed manual transmission and in 8.5 seconds with the optional 8-speed Steptronic transmission.

The second diesel engine available for the BMW 2 Series Gran Coupé delivers a maximum output of 140 kW/190 hp and a maximum torque of 400 Nm. In the new BMW 220d xDrive Gran Coupé (combined fuel consumption: 4.9 – 4.5 l/100 km; combined CO₂ emissions: 129 – 119 g/km) it is now combined with intelligent all-wheel drive and an 8-speed Steptronic transmission. This enables the new model variant to accelerate from standstill to 100 km/h in 7.3 seconds. Thanks to state-of-the-art exhaust gas treatment including SCR catalytic converter with AdBlue injection, both new models meet the Euro 6d emissions standard.

Green light for BMW eDrive Zone: locally emissions-free travel in the city on an automated basis.
Innovative technology from the fields of electrification and digitalisation is combined in the new BMW eDrive Zone function available in the premium car manufacturer’s plug-in hybrid models. This globally unique digital service offers additional options for making optimum use of the capabilities of emissions-free driving. The BMW eDrive Zone function triggers an automatic switch to purely electric operating mode as soon as the vehicle enters selected urban areas such as low-emission zones.

BMW eDrive Zone will be a standard feature of all plug-in hybrid models of the BMW 3 Series, BMW 5 Series and BMW 7 Series as well as the BMW X5. The digital service uses geo-fencing technology via GPS to identify designated areas. eDrive zones of this kind are currently designated in some 80 cities throughout Europe. When the service is activated, each available eDrive Zone on the navigation map is graphically highlighted in the Control Display: a message appears to inform the driver that the vehicle will automatically switch to electric driving mode as soon as it enters an eDrive Zone.

From summer 2020, the above-mentioned plug-in hybrid models will also be fitted with an integrated drive-ready sound for electric power as standard. This means that both starting and stopping the electric drive will be accompanied by a distinctive acoustic signal. In addition there has been an expansion of the range of preconditioning functions, which is also a standard feature. Depending on the equipment fitted, more functions will be available that can be activated remotely by smartphone, in addition to interior cooling and heating. In future it will also be possible to activate the seat climate control before the start of a journey, for example. In the same way it will be possible to include the seat, steering wheel, exterior mirror and rear window heating systems in the preconditioning for heating the interior, as well as heating of the cameras for the driver assistance systems.

BMW 3 Series Sedan and BMW 3 Series Touring now fitted with BMW Operating System 7 as standard.
In the new BMW 3 Series, the latest generation of the display and control system will be a standard feature as of summer 2020. Previously only used in conjunction with BMW Live Cockpit Professional, BMW Operating System 7 offers extensive individualisation and personalisation of the content shown on the Control Display. The standard BMW Live Cockpit now also includes a redesigned instrument cluster with a 5.1-inch digital display at its centre. BMW Live Cockpit Plus, like BMW Live Cockpit Professional, also includes the BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant. This digital companion enables intuitive operation of numerous vehicle functions via voice control (“Hey, BMW”). In the BMW 1 Series and BMW 2 Series Gran Coupé, BMW Operating System 7 will also be part of the optional BMW Live Cockpit Plus from July 2020.

The M sports seats are new to the range of optional extras for the new BMW 3 Series Sedan and the new BMW 3 Series Touring. They feature excellent lateral support, a wide range of adjustment options and headrests with embossed M logo. The M sports seats for driver and front passenger are available in conjunction with the Model M Sport equipment line as well as for the BMW M automobiles of the new BMW 3 Series. The choice of exterior colours for the new BMW 3 Series is supplemented by the variant Phytonic Blue metallic.

Increased comfort and safety: Driving Assistant Professional with additional functions.
The optional Driving Assistant Professional is a particularly comprehensive collection of driver assistance systems designed to optimise comfort and safety: it is being used by BMW to pave the way to automated driving in numerous current models. The focus is on the steering and lane guidance assistant, which will be enhanced with additional functions from summer 2020 in the BMW 3 Series, BMW 5 Series, BMW 6 Series and BMW 8 Series, in the BMW X5, BMW X6 and BMW X7, and in all variants of the BMW M5 and BMW M8.

The new Active Navigation Guidance indicates lane changes that are necessary in order to continue driving along the selected route when destination guidance is active. The driver can then carry out this operation conveniently with the aid of the lane change assistant. In addition, Active Cruise Control with Stop & Go function will in future include an adaptive distance control that adapts to the respective traffic situation and environmental conditions.

Further progress is also being made in the intelligent control of the Speed Limit Info system with No Passing Indicator. In all model variants of the BMW 1 Series, BMW 3 Series, BMW 5 Series, BMW 6 Series, BMW 7 Series and BMW 8 Series, the BMW 2 Series Gran Coupé, the BMW Z4, the BMW X5, the BMW X6 and the BMW X7 as well as the BMW M5, the BMW M8, the BMW X5 M and the BMW X6 M, road sign detection will in future additionally take into account speed limits that are restricted in time and only apply on certain days of the week. On days other, the speed limit derived from the navigation data is displayed.

BMW 7 Series and BMW 8 Series with optimised Integral Active Steering.
Sporty flair and ride comfort in the BMW 7 Series luxury sedans and the luxury sports cars of the BMW 8 Series benefit from Integral Active Steering. The optional suspension system combines a variable rack and pinion ratio on the front axle with selective co-steering of the rear wheels. Even at particularly low speeds of less than 3 km/h, the rear wheels are now countersteered. This gives the models of the BMW 7 Series and BMW 8 Series additional manoeuvrability when moving slowly in and out of parking spaces or passing through narrow gaps.

In addition, the BMW 7 Series will be available from July 2020 in the new exterior paint finish Phytonic Blue metallic and the BMW Individual paint finish Frozen Bluestone metallic. A fresh touch of luxury ambience is added to the interior with the BMW Individual leather steering wheel as well as the new version of the BMW Individual Merino full leather trim in the colour combination Smoke White/Night Blue/Black.

New body finishes for the BMW i3 and numerous other models
Another new addition to the range is the body finish in Cashmere Silver metallic, which is also available for the BMW X1. The BMW 2 Series Gran Tourer will also offered in Phytonic Blue metallic and Misano Blue metallic in future.

New body finishes are available for numerous other models, too. Phytonic Blue metallic and Sunset Orange metallic versions of the BMW 1 Series and the BMW 2 Series Gran Coupé will be on offer from July 2020. The body finish Phytonic Blue metallic will also be available for the BMW X5, BMW X6 and BMW X7 as of August 2020. What is more, the BMW X5 and BMW X6 can be fitted with the new Carbon Fibre interior trim finishers and M Carbon exterior mirror caps in conjunction with the M sports package.

The purely electrically powered models BMW i3 (combined fuel consumption: 0.0 l/100 km; combined power consumption: 13.1 kWh/100 km; combined CO₂ emissions: 0 g/km) and BMW i3s (combined fuel consumption: 0.0 l/100 km; combined power consumption: 14.6 – 14.0 kWh/100 km; combined CO₂ emissions: 0 g/km) will be available from summer 2020 in the new body finish Blue Ridge Mountain with accentuations in Frozen Grey metallic.

Meanwhile new BMW Individual body finishes are available for the model variants of the high-performance sports car BMW M8. For the BMW M8 Series Coupé (combined fuel consumption: 10.6 l/100 km; combined CO₂ emissions: 242 g/km*) and the BMW M8 Convertible (combined fuel consumption: 10.8 l/100 km; combined CO₂ emissions: 246 g/km), the Ametrin metallic variant is now newly available. For both models and for the BMW M8 Gran Coupé (combined fuel consumption: 10.7 l/100 km; combined CO₂ emissions: 244 g/km), the versions Bluestone metallic, Frozen Brands Hatch Grey metallic and Frozen Motegi Red metallic are likewise available.

CO2 EMISSIONS & CONSUMPTION.

Munich. From the spring of 2020, BMW will contribute towards a further reduction of consumption levels and the optimisation of the emission performance of current models through the use of systematically evolved drive technology. In parallel with the expansion of the range of models featuring all-electric and plug-in hybrid drive scheduled to follow during the course of the year, both the efficiency and the exhaust emission quality of petrol-driven vehicles will be significantly increased.  This is ensured, inter alia, by innovative mild hybrid technology which, following the BMW 5 Series, will as from March/April also be deployed in the BMW 3 Series as well as the model series BMW X3 and BMW X4. At the same time, in the spring of 2020, 33 further BMW models will already comply with the Euro 6d emission standard, which will not become obligatory until 2021. 

A further drive variant for the BMW 1 Series as well as additional engines for the BMW 3 Series Sedan and the BMW 3 Series Touring will enhance the diversity of available options in the premium compact and premium midrange segment. Additional options for interior design provide for greater individuality in the BMW X5, the BMW X6 and the BMW X7.

Electric pulling power for efficiency and dynamics: Mild hybrid technology with 48-volt starter generator for further models.  

BMW is extending the use of mild hybrid technology to further models. This innovation, first introduced in the autumn of 2019 forthe four model variants of the BMW 520d (combined fuel consumption: 4.9 – 4.1 l/100 km; combined CO2 emissions: 128 – 108 g/km), comprises an extremely powerful 48-volt starter generator as well as an additional battery, and enhances both efficiency and dynamics of vehicles equipped with this technology. As from the spring of 2020, mild hybrid technology will also be featured as standard in the models BMW 320d Sedan (automatic transmission) (combined fuel consumption: 4.1 – 4.0 l/100 km; combined CO2 emissions: 107 – 105 g/km), the BMW 320d Touring (combined fuel consumption: 4.3 – 4.2 l/100 km; combined CO2 emissions: 112 – 109 g/km), the BMW 320d xDrive Sedan (combined fuel consumption: 4.4 – 4.3 l/100 km; combined CO2 emissions: 117 – 114 g/km), the BMW 320d xDrive Touring (combined fuel consumption: 4.5 – 4.5 l/100 km; combined CO2 emissions: 119 – 117 g/km), the BMW X3 xDrive20d (combined fuel consumption: 5.1 – 4.8 l/100 km; combined CO2 emissions: 134 – 126 g/km) and the BMW X4 xDrive20d (combined fuel consumption: 5.1 – 4.8 l/100 km; combined CO2 emissions: 133 – 125 g/km).

Mild hybrid technology provides significantly greater possibilities to make use of brake energy recuperation. The energy recuperated when accelerating and braking is not only used to provide electrically powered vehicle functions with energy but also to generate additional drive power. The 48-volt starter generator delivers an additional power output of up to 8 kW/11 hp. The electric over-boost is made available very spontaneously, thus enhancing dynamics when starting off and accelerating from a standstill.  During the journey, the electric over-boost can be used to support the combustion engine, enabling it to run as frequently as possible within an efficiency-optimised load range and to reduce consumption peaks. Moreover, when driving within inefficient operational ranges, it is possible to supply the 48-volt battery with additional energy from the starter generator by raising the load point when required.  

Furthermore, the 48-volt starter generator provides for exceptionally smooth switching off as well as a faster and thus more comfortable re-starting of the combustion engine when the Auto Start Stop function is used at road junctions or in traffic jams. When the vehicle decelerates, the combustion engine can be disconnected at a speed of less than 15 km/h. The kinetic energy gained when decelerating further to a standstill is then used for recuperation. The efficiencyenhancing effect of the “coasting” function has also been optimised. At a speed of up to 160 km/h, the combustion engine is no longer switched into idle mode but is completely disconnected. During the journey, engine re-start is also fast and comfortable. The optimised “coasting” function is available both in the COMFORT and ECOPRO modes of the Driving Experience Switch.

Optimised emission performance: 40 BMW models now already fulfil the future Euro 6d emission standard.

With yet a further optimisation of the emission performance of numerous models, BMW is preparing well in advance for future legal requirements governing exhaust emissions. As from the spring of 2020, 33 further models from various model series will fulfil the Euro 6d exhaust emission standard. Consequently, 40 BMW models comply with the demands specified by the more stringent standard a year prior to the new emission regulation coming into force. 

The vehicles that will already comply with the Euro 6d emission standard as from the spring of 2020 include model variants of the BMW 1 Series, BMW 2 Series and BMW 3 Series as well as the BMW X1, BMW X2, BMW X3, BMW X4, BMW X5 and the BMW X6.

New drive variants for the BMW 1 Series, the BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe, the BMW 3 Series Sedan and the BMW 3 Series Touring. Starting in March 2020, additional drive variants will increase the diversity of the BMW 1 Series and BMW 3 Series model range. The BMW 120d (combined fuel consumption: 4.6 – 4.3 l/100 km; combined CO2 emissions: 121 – 112 g/km) will be added to the model range in the premium compact segment. The power generated by the car’s 2-litre, 140 kW/190 hp four-cylinder diesel power unit featuring BMW TwinPower Turbo Technology is transferred to the front wheels via a standard 8-speed Steptronic transmission, allowing the new BMW 120d to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.3 seconds and to reach a top speed of 231 km/h. The new BMW 120d is one of the models that already fulfil the Euro 6d emission standard. 

The engines of the BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe will be expanded with a 216d diesel engine.

A new four-cylinder petrol engine with a displacement of 2 litres and BMW TwinPower Turbo Technology complements the drive portfolio for the new BMW 3 Series. Next to to that an 316d diesel engine will be added for the BMW 3 Series Sedan. The power unit for the new BMW 318i Sedan (combined fuel consumption: 5.7 – 5.3 l/100 km; combined CO2 emissions: 130 – 120 g/km) and the new BMW 318i Touring (combined fuel consumption: 6.2 – 5.7 l/100 km; combined CO2 emissions: 140 – 130 g/km) delivers a maximum power output of 115 kW/156 hp and a peak torque of 250 Nm. The standard equipment range for the new BMW 3 Series entry model includes an 8-speed Steptronic transmission. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/ is 8.4 seconds for the Sedan and 8.7 seconds for the Touring model. Top speed is 223 km/h (BMW 318i Sedan) and 220 km/h (BMW 318i Touring) respectively.

BMW 7 Series and BMW 8 Series with extended standard configuration, additional offer of leather options and interior trims for the BMW X5, the BMW X6 and the BMW X7.

From March 2020, a broader range of standard features will enhance comfort in the luxury-class models of the BMW 7 Series and the BMW 8 Series. In future, BMW 7 Series luxury sedans, BMW 8 Series luxury sports cars as well as the high-performance models BMW M8 Competition Coupe (combined fuel consumption: 10.6 l/100 km; combined CO2 emissions: 242 g/km), BMW M8 Competition Convertible (combined fuel consumption: 10.8 l/100 km; combined CO2 emissions: 246 g/km) and BMW M8 Competition Gran Coupe (combined fuel consumption: 10.7 l/100 km; combined CO2 emissions: 244 g/km) will be equipped with an automatic soft-close function for the doors.

Thanks to a wider selection of leather options and interior trims, there are now new possibilities to individualise the models BMW X5, BMW X6 and BMW X7. As from April, the leather trim perforated Vernasca in the colour combination Canberra Beige/Black is additionally available for these three models. In future, the BMW X6 can be ordered with the leather trim perforated Vernasca in the colour Cognac/Black. Likewise available for the Sports Activity Coupe are the extended BMW Individual leather options Merino in the colour combinations Tartufo/Black, Ivory White/Black and Ivory White/Night Blue/Black as well as the BMW Individual all-leather interior trim Merino in the colour combinations Coffee/Black and Tartufo/Black. Also new in the range of options for the BMW X6: High-grade Poplar Grain, Anthracite-Brown, open-pored.

Fuel consumption, CO2 emission figures and power consumption were measured using the methods required according to Regulation (EC) 2007/715 as amended. The figures are calculated using a vehicle fitted with basic equipment in Germany, the ranges stated take into account differences in selected wheel and tyre sizes as well as the optional equipment. They may change during configuration.

The figures have already been calculated based on the new WLTP test cycle and adapted to NEDC for comparison purposes. In these vehicles, different figures than those published here may apply for the assessment of taxes and other vehicle-related duties which are (also) based on CO2 emissions.

BMW is making further advances in its push to boost the driving pleasure and efficiency of its current model range with the introduction of state-of-the-art mild-hybrid technology in autumn 2019. Fitting a 48V starter-generator in the BMW 5 Series for the first time has the additional benefit of increasing power output and reducing fuel consumption and emissions. Meanwhile, the BMW 330e Sedan (fuel consumption combined: 1.9 – 1.6 l/100 km [148.7 – 176.6 mpg imp]; electric power consumption combined: 15.4 – 14.8 kWh/100 km; CO₂ emissions combined: 43 – 37 g/km), BMW 530e Sedan (fuel consumption combined: 1.8 – 1.6 l/100 km [156.9 – 176.6 mpg imp]; electric power consumption combined: 14.5 – 13.6 kWh/100 km; CO₂ emissions combined: 41 – 36 g/km) and BMW 530e xDrive Sedan (fuel consumption combined: 2.2 – 2.0 l/100 km [128.4 – 141.2 mpg imp]; electric power consumption combined: 15.4 – 14.1 kWh/100 km; CO₂ emissions combined: 49 – 46 g/km) plug-in hybrid models will offer even greater versatility and everyday practicality from November 2019 when a trailer coupling joins the options list.

New optional extras designed to further enhance sporting prowess and driving comfort will also be made available for numerous other models from autumn 2019. Some of the most tempting additions to the options lists include the M Performance package for the BMW M135i xDrive (fuel consumption combined: 7.1 – 6.8 l/100 km [39.8 – 41.5 mpg imp]; CO₂ emissions combined: 162 – 155 g/km), BMW Laserlight for the BMW 5 Series and the M Carbon roof for the new BMW 8 Series Gran Coupe. Finally, new exterior and interior options open up a wealth of possibilities for individualising the new BMW X5, new BMW X6 and new BMW X7.

BMW 5 Series: mild-hybrid technology for extra sprinting power and efficiency.

In autumn 2019, BMW will present another element in its powertrain electrification strategy to accompany the ongoing expansion of its plug-in hybrid line-up. Mild-hybrid technology will make its debut in the BMW 5 Series, where it will help to both lighten the combustion engine’s workload and boost its power, meaning not just superior efficiency but sharper performance. Fitting an extremely powerful 48V starter-generator and a second battery significantly enhances the functionality of Brake Energy Regeneration by enabling the energy recuperated when braking or on the overrun to be harnessed not just for powering electrical vehicle functions, but for generating additional drive power. For this, the 48V starter-generator acts likes an electric drive unit that assists the engine, allowing the latter to operate within an efficiency-optimised load range as frequently as possible. An electric overboost function, meanwhile, injects an extra dose of dynamism when accelerating under full throttle.

The 48V starter-generator has the additional benefit of allowing the engine to be switched off with remarkably little vibration and restarted more smoothly when using the Auto Start Stop function. This also makes it possible to completely shut off the engine in coasting mode, rather than just disconnecting it from the drivetrain. As of November 2019, mild-hybrid technology will be fitted as standard on the BMW 520d Sedan (fuel consumption combined: 4.1 – 4.3 l/100 km; CO₂ emissions combined: 108 –112 g/km), BMW 520d xDrive Sedan (fuel consumption combined: 4.5 – 4.7 l/100 km; CO₂ emissions combined: 117 – 123 g/km), BMW 520d Touring (fuel consumption combined: 4.3 – 4.5 l/100 km; CO₂ emissions combined: 114 – 118 g/km) and BMW 520d xDrive Touring (fuel consumption combined: 4.7 – 4.9 l/100 km; CO₂ emissions combined: 124 – 128 g/km). The fuel consumption figures of the 140 kW/190 hp four-cylinder diesel engine that powers this quartet of models will be cut by up to 0.3 litres per 100 kilometres as a result.

The enhancements to the BMW 5 Series range also include the introduction of BMW Laserlight on further model variants. This lighting technology – which increases high-beam range to a maximum 650 metres – will be added to the wealth of innovations aboard both the BMW M550d xDrive Sedan and BMW M550d xDrive Touring from November 2019.

BMW 3 Series and BMW 5 Series plug-in hybrid models now also available with a trailer coupling.

The hallmark sporting flair of BMW cars, outstanding efficiency and the option of driving with zero local emissions highlight the progressive character of the plug-in hybrid BMW 3 Series and 5 Series models. The BMW 330e Sedan, BMW 530e Sedan and BMW 530e xDrive Sedan can also be ordered with almost the complete range of optional extras available for the conventionally powered model variants, allowing driving pleasure and comfort to be tailored to individual requirements. A trailer coupling with an electrically pivoting hitch ball will be added to the list of options in November 2019, further enhancing the plug-in hybrid models’ practical value in everyday driving. These three models will have a maximum trailer load of 750 kilograms.

BMW 1 Series: M Performance package for the BMW M135i xDrive.

Model-specific design features showcase the performance capabilities of the new BMW M135i xDrive even in its standard guise. But now customers will be able to lend the 225 kW/306 hp range-topper’s standout sporting credentials even greater visual impact by opting for the new M Performance package. Available from November 2019, its special 18‑inch M light-alloy wheels in Y-spoke design and the deletion of the storage package reduce vehicle weight by around ten kilograms. This results in a 0.1-second improvement in the car’s 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) time, to 4.7 seconds. Added to which, the new M Performance package for the BMW 135i xDrive brings exterior mirror caps and exhaust tailpipes in a Black painted finish and a mesh-design BMW kidney grille in High-gloss Black with a surround painted in the same colour.

BMW 8 Series Gran Coupe: M Carbon roof shaves off extra weight.

The new BMW 8 Series Gran Coupe brings genuine sports car feel to the occupants of its four full-size seats. The M Carbon exterior package available since launch already accents the car’s dynamic verve with some precise touches. And from November 2019, the choice of optional extras for the four-door luxury sports car will expand to include an M Carbon roof, which will be available as an individual item for the BMW M850i xDrive Gran Coupe and in conjunction with the M Sport package for the other model variants. As well as creating a look clearly inspired by racing cars, the M Carbon roof brings about a further reduction in weight. Interior trim strips in Carbon Fibre can also be ordered as an optional extra for the BMW 8 Series Gran Coupe for the first time.

BMW X5, BMW X6, BMW X7: new customisation options.

The appearance, interior ambience and comfort levels of the BMW X5, BMW X6 and BMW X7 can now be attuned even more precisely to personal preferences thanks to a number of new equipment options. M multifunction front seats are just one of the optional features due to become available for the executive- and luxury-class BMW X models from December 2019. Quite apart from their outstanding comfort, the seats also offer a wide range of adjustment options, all operated electrically. They can also be upgraded by the addition of massage and ventilation functions for even greater comfort on long journeys.

Customers seeking the ultimate in exclusivity can look forward to the BMW Individual Composition, which will be offered for the new BMW X5, new BMW X6 and new BMW X7 from December 2019. This equipment package comprises a selection of highly exclusive options for the exterior and interior boasting exceptional material quality and workmanship. 22-inch BMW Individual light-alloy wheels and a BMW Individual paint finish ensure the BMW X models cut a stylish figure. Inside, BMW Individual Merino full leather trim, a BMW Individual headliner in Alcantara and BMW Individual interior trim strips in Piano Finish Black create a sense of high luxury. 

The options list for the new BMW X6 also now includes a load compartment package comprising sliding rails, non-slip rails and retaining nets. Interior trim strips in Ash Grain Brown or Fineline Stripe and Vernasca design-perforated leather trim in Ivory White add to the choice of customisation options for the cabin. Paint finishes in Sapphire Black metallic and Sophisto Grey brilliant effect metallic and the BMW Individual paint finishes Tanzanite Blue metallic and Ametrine metallic have now been added to the colour palette for customers wishing to give the Sports Activity Coupe’s exterior a particularly striking look. An M Carbon rear spoiler and M Carbon mirror caps can also be specified to bring the car’s sporting genes even further to the fore.

The Adaptive M suspension Professional optionally available for the new BMW X5 gives it far greater poise in dynamic driving situations. This optional extra, comprising active roll stabilisation, the M Sport differential and Integral Active Steering, will also be available for the BMW X5 xDrive40i and BMW X5 xDrive30d from December 2019. The functionality of the Driving Assistant Professional will be enhanced in the new BMW X5 and new BMW X6 with the addition of the new Lane Change Assistant, which aids the driver with automated steering movements during overtaking manoeuvres.

Driving Assistant Professional brings real-time 3D visualisation of the surrounding area to the instrument cluster.

The Driving Assistant Professional offers drivers an extremely wide range of assistance in monotonous and complex traffic situations. Its range of functions now includes 3D visualisation of the area around the car, which has been available in all models equipped with BMW Live Cockpit Professional since July 2019. The system uses the data supplied by the driver assistance systems’ cameras and sensors to generate a real-time three-dimensional graphic image of the vehicle’s surroundings. The image appears in the centre of the instrument cluster and helps to give the driver a clearer overview of what is happening on the road, especially when driving on multi-lane highways. This means the driver can also register the position of other road users driving in front of or alongside them when they glance down at the speedometer or rev counter.

BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant with separate iDrive menu and individual configurability.

The BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant enjoys additional functionality gains. Since July 2019 users have been able to access all the relevant settings via a separate menu in the BMW Operating System 7.0. This means the driver can adjust the functioning of the BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant according to the driving situation at hand. For example, the intelligent and proactive functions can be switched on and off, and notifications and phone calls can be anonymised if passengers are on board.

As such, the distinctive character and outstanding agility of the third engine generation ensures an unmistakable sporty driving experience ex works. However, this can be intensified even further: as soon after the market launch of the new BMW 1 Series, an extensive range of exclusive M Performance Parts is available that allow the car’s sporty appearance and dynamic potential to be given an additional boost. As is customary for BMW, all components are harmonised with each other and with the specific character of the new model. In addition to enhancing the car’s sporty, dynamic appearance on the exterior in particular, the parts also meet functional requirements in terms of lightweight construction and aerodynamics. Sporty lightness: aerodynamic and exterior components.
Various lightweight construction parts in a new carbon fibre look and components in high-gloss black underscore the car’s sporty appearance while at the same time highlighting the lines of the body. What is more, the M Performance front splitter, the horizontal-flow rear spoiler and the aero flicks in high-gloss black optimise aerodynamics, thereby enhancing the talents of the compact 5-door model in the area of driving dynamics. The same applies to the high-gloss black side sill insert and the rear diffuser in lightweight carbon fibre. All M Performance components were developed especially for the new BMW 1 Series and perfectly harmonised in the wind tunnel. The high-quality carbon fibre components are crafted elaborately by hand before being sealed with a clear finish and given a high-gloss polish. This also applies to the M Performance exterior mirror caps, whose high-tech character provides an attractive eye-catcher. BMW M Performance Parts also offers the new M kidney grille with mesh design as a retrofitting solution.

Highlights the proportions: lettering in Frozen Black.
In addition, the range of M Performance Parts also includes options to further refine the car's sporty exterior design. The side lettering in Frozen Black highlights the model's new proportions, for example, adding an attractive accentuation to the body. The decor set with striking colouring and M Performance inscription goes perfectly with the other mounted parts, individually highlighting the car’s sporty character. As a supplement to this, the vehicle front can be refined with lettering in high-gloss black.

For powerful deceleration: 18-inch M Performance sports brake.
In keeping with its increased driving dynamics, the new BMW 1 Series can also be fitted with an 18-inch M Performance sports brake system, whose striking characteristics are enhanced deceleration performance and increased thermal resilience – even in extreme conditions. The brake’s attractive appearance with calipers finished in red provides a perfect match for the car’s sporty design style; this is showcased especially effectively in combination with an open wheel design. As compared to the standard brake system, the front axle has larger inner-vented, perforated discs in lightweight design which are powerfully gripped by 4-piston fixed calipers. The amply sized calipers are made of a aluminium alloy so as to save weight. The rear axle features matching lightweight construction brake discs with single-piston floating caliper.

All-round perfection: sporty complete wheel sets in 18 and 19 inches.
Matching the sports brake, BMW offers the high-quality M Performance forged wheel Y-Spoke 554M in an 18-inch format. This weight-optimised summerwheel in Jet Black matt features a multicoloured graphic print that perfectly showcases the M Performance inscription and M logo. The light alloy wheel Y-Spoke 711M in Ferric Grey is likewise available in an 18-inch format. This winter wheel is suitable for use with snow chains and can also be combined with the M Performance sports brake. The range also includes the 19-inch M Performance light alloy wheel Double Spoke 555M in bicolour look, which is available as a complete wheel set for use in summer.

The M Performance wheel bags are recommended as a practical solution for storing and transporting these high-quality wheels. They protect the driver and vehicle from soiling and are convenient for loading due to their reinforced handles. Markings ensure rapid wheel allocation, while the attractive M Performance design creates a racing atmosphere even in the garage at home.

Sporty flair directly on entry: LED door projectors with M Performance motifs.
The BMW door projectors provide a sporty welcome even when the doors are opened. With the three different motives included in the M Performance slide set it is possible to have the BMW M logo or other graphics projected onto the ground next to the vehicle. The lighting not only ensures comfort and safety when entering and exiting the vehicle, it also creates a very exclusive, distinctive atmosphere. The sporty motifs are clearly perceptible, even at dusk.

Pure racing feeling: sporty highlights in the cockpit.
Distinctive touches of sporty enhancement are also available for the interior of the new BMW 1 Series. The M Performance steering wheel with distinctive Alcantara grip area and large thumbrest offers genuine racing feeling, for example. In addition to the steering wheel's pleasant touch combined with an excellent grip, visual accentuations are provided by the red marking at the 12 o’clock position and the silver-grey hand-sewn cross-stitching. The steering wheel’s sporty high-tech character can be further enhanced with the M Performance steering wheel trim, for which there is a choice between carbon fibre/Alcantara and carbon fibre/leather. In both cases, the 6 o’clock detail bears the M Performance inscription. There is an additional option for vehicles with Steptronic sports transmission: high-quality M Performance carbon fibre shift paddles can be selected to further enhance the motor racing atmosphere in the cockpit.

Finally, another attractive supplement for vehicles with sporty M Performance fittings is provided by the high-quality velvet velour floor mats with embroidered M Performance inscription, a leather-look surround complete with contrasting seam and a pennant in the typical M colours blue, light blue and red. Hij is met een lengte van 4.319 mm precies 5 mm korter dan zijn voorganger. De breedte is met 34 mm toegenomen tot 1.799 mm en de hoogte met 13 mm tot 1.434 mm. De wielbasis bedraagt nu 2.670 mm – 20 mm minder dan de vorige generatie.

Nieuw gezicht, grotere BMW nierengrille.

De nieuwe BMW 1 Reeks heeft letterlijk een nieuw gezicht: de karakteristieke BMW nierengrille is groter en nadrukkelijker aanwezig en voor het eerst zijn ook in dit model beide helften ervan in het midden met elkaar verbonden. Het sportieve topmodel, de BMW M135i xDrive (verbruik gecombineerd: 6,8-7,1 l/100 km; CO2-emissie gecombineerd: 155-162 g/km) is voorzien van een markant, op de autosport geïnspireerd, driedimensionaal geweven rooster in de nierengrille, in plaats van de klassieke verticale spijlen. De koplampen zijn schuin geplaatst en geven de nieuwe BMW 1 Reeks een frisse, jeugdige uitstraling. De optioneel te bestellen full-LED-koplampen – desgewenst in een adaptieve uitvoering – ogen bijzonder modern.

Geprononceerde grille en duidelijke wigvorm.

Van opzij gezien heeft de nieuwe BMW 1 Reeks een voor het merk kenmerkende, geprononceerde grille, een duidelijke wigvorm, lage zijruiten en een C-stijl met de voor BMW typerende Hofmeister-knik. Spaarzame, heldere lijnen en verfijnde oppervlakken geven de nieuwe BMW 1 Reeks een atletische uitstraling. De achterzijde oogt solide dankzij de brede taille en de schuine plaatsing van de achterste dakstijlen. De markante schouderpartij geeft de auto een stabiel aanzien. De brede, tweedelige achterlichten versterken de stabiele en solide uitstraling en ogen door hun ranke en ongekunstelde vormgeving zeer modern. De optioneel te bestellen full-LED-achterlichten vallen op door een boogvorm aan de zijkant van het vlakke deel. Het is een nieuwe interpretatie van de zogenoemde L-optiek. De opvallend vormgegeven eindpijpen van het uitlaatsysteem hebben een diameter van 90 mm (zelfs 100 mm en schuin naar onder afgesneden voor de BMW M135i xDrive) completeren het sportieve uiterlijk. BMW biedt voor de nieuwe BMW 1 Reeks keuze uit talrijke nieuwe lichtmetalen wielen, in maten vanaf 16 inch, en als optie voor het eerst ook wielen van zelfs 19 inch.

Panoramadak en van achter verlichte interieurlijsten.

Het elektrisch te bedienen panoramadak, dat voor het eerst een optie is voor de BMW 1 Reeks, laat meer licht toe in het interieur. Dat geeft ook een ruimtelijk gevoel. Het interieur is afgewerkt met hoogwaardige materialen en innovatieve details. Zoals de voor het eerst bij BMW te bestellen optionele interieurlijsten die van achter verlicht zijn. Ze zijn er in drie designs en voor de achtergrondverlichting is te kiezen uit zes kleuren. Slim gegroepeerde bedieningselementen van bijvoorbeeld de verwarming en de klimaatregeling of voor de diverse rijfuncties verhogen bedieningsgemak, zorgen voor meer functionele bergruimte en bieden extra comfort – zoals het vak vóór de versnellingshendel, dat optioneel is in combinatie met Wireless Charging voor smartphones.

Twee displays in de BMW Live Cockpit Professional – elk met een schermmaat van 10,25 inch – bieden toegang tot het optionele infotainmentaanbod van het nieuwe BMW Operating System 7.0. De vormen van de schermen weerspiegelen het nieuwe design van de BMW nierengrille. Het centrale Control Display is zoals gebruikelijk in een BMW op de bestuurder gericht en optimaal in zijn blikveld geplaatst. Met de 9,2 inch grote fullcolour BMW Head-Up Display, die voor het eerst optioneel in de BMW 1 Reeks beschikbaar is, kan de bestuurder alle informatie op het scherm zien zonder dat hij zijn blik van de weg hoeft af te wenden.

Meer interieurruimte.

In de nieuwe BMW 1 Reeks hebben de inzittenden aanmerkelijk meer ruimte dan in zijn voorganger, vooral achterin. De instap is daardoor gemakkelijker en de knieruimte achterin is met 33 mm gegroeid. De hoofdruimte achterin is – indien het panorama-schuifdak aanwezig is – met 19 mm toegenomen. Daarnaast hebben de achterpassagiers 13 mm meer ruimte op ellebooghoogte, terwijl de inzittenden voorin maar liefst 42 mm meer elleboogruimte hebben.

De bagageruimte meet nu 380 liter, 20 liter meer dan voorheen. Met de achterbankleuning omgeklapt bedraagt de ruimte zelfs 1.200 liter. Bovendien is de minimale breedte van de bagageruimte toegenomen met 67 mm. En voor het eerst is de BMW 1 Reeks ook te bestellen met elektrische bediening van de bagageklep.

Drie uitrustingslijnen en een topmodel.

De nieuwe BMW 1 Reeks is in drie uitrustingslijnen te bestellen, die zich zowel uiterlijk als met het interieur van elkaar onderscheiden. In het Model Luxury Line ligt de nadruk vooral op verfijning en comfort, met carrosseriedelen in Aluminium satiniert en interieurbekleding in Leder ‘Dakota’.

Het Model Sport Line is voorzien van accenten in Schwarz, raamlijsten in BMW Individual Hochglanz Shadowline en sportstoelen. Het Model M Sport is voorzien van accenten in Aluminium satiniert, een voorspoiler en een onderbumper met specifiek gevormde luchtinlaten en een BMW M achterbumperinzet in hoogglanzend Schwarz.

Het topmodel is de BMW M135i xDrive. Die is voorzien van onder meer het driedimensionaal geweven rooster in de BMW nierengrille, afgeschuinde eindstukken van het uitlaatsysteem in de kleur Cerium Grey en de BMW M achterspoiler in de kleur van de carrosserie.

Moderne architectuur met voorwielaandrijving en innovatieve aandrijftechniek.

De derde generatie van de BMW 1 Reeks is voor het eerst gebaseerd op de moderne voertuigarchitectuur van BMW met voorwielaandrijving. Daarmee combineert de auto een rijdynamiek die in zijn segment de nieuwe norm is met aanmerkelijk meer interieurruimte. Met toepassing van alle kennis en ervaring die BMW Group heeft opgedaan met voorwielaangedreven auto’s en de technologieoverdracht van BMW i naar BMW is de nieuwe BMW 1 Reeks na een ontwikkelingstijd van vijf jaar een echte BMW met een sterk eigen karakter.

Alle modelversies zowel met voorwielaandrijving als met de intelligente vierwielaandrijving blinken uit door een grotere wendbaarheid dan zijn voorganger. De snelle en precieze reacties op de stuurinput zorgen voor een nog betere rijervaring.

Een belangrijke factor daarbij is de uit de BMW i3s (stroomverbruik gecombineerd: 14,0-14,6 kWh/100 km, CO2-emissie gecombineerd: 0 g/km) bekende ARB-technologie. Die onderdrukt het doorslippen van de voorwielen, zodat een nog preciezere en snellere tractiecontrole mogelijk is. De technologie wordt nu voor het eerst toegepast in een auto met verbrandingsmotor. Bij de gebruikelijke ARB-technologie is de doorslipregeling in het motormanagement geïntegreerd in plaats van in de Dynamische Stabiliteits Controle (DSC), zoals in het systeem van BMW. Door de kortere lijnen in de regelelektronica wordt de informatie drie keer zo snel doorgegeven en verwerkt. Voor de bestuurder voelt het alsof het systeem tot wel tien keer sneller reageert.

In de nauwe samenwerking met de DSC reduceert ARB voelbaar de neiging tot onderstuur bij accelereren. De ARB-technologie wordt ondersteund door het eveneens standaard aanwezige BMW Performance Control, dat onder- en overstuur reguleert. Al voordat de limiet wordt bereikt, doet het systeem gerichte, subtiele remingrepen op de wielen aan de binnenzijde van de bocht en zorgt zo voor een neutraal bochtengedrag.

Behalve met het toch al dynamische, op de individuele motorisering afgestemde standaard onderstel en het M Sport onderstel dat 10 mm is verlaagd, is de nieuwe BMW 1 Reeks optioneel ook leverbaar met het onderstel met adaptieve VDC (Variable Damper Control). De bestuurder kan dan kiezen uit twee dempingskarakteristieken – Comfort en Sport. Elke motorvariant van de nieuwe BMW 1 Reeks is voorzien van de multilink-achterwielophanging.

Twee modellen met intelligente vierwielaandrijving BMW xDrive.

De ARB-technologie en BMW Performance Control behoren ook in de BMW 120d xDrive (verbruik gecombineerd: 4,5-4,7 l/100 km; CO2-emissie gecombineerd: 117-124 g/km) en de BMW M135i xDrive tot de standaarduitrusting. Beide zijn standaard uitgerust met de intelligente vierwielaandrijving BMW xDrive. De BMW M135i xDrive is verder standaard voorzien van een nieuw ontwikkeld mechanisch Torsen-differentieelsper op de vooras en geeft de auto een nog sportiever karakter.

De differentieelsper is geïntegreerd in de standaard 8-traps Steptronic Sport transmissie met Launch Control, die al in de eerste en tweede versnelling optimaal het maximumkoppel van 450 Nm aan het wegdek overbrengt. De nog directer reagerende M Sport Steering van de BMW M135i xDrive doet nog een schepje bovenop de superieure wegligging en het bochtengedrag. De M Sport remmen zorgen te allen tijde voor betrouwbaar, krachtig remvermogen. M Sport Steering en M Sport remmen zijn optioneel ook voor andere modelversies van de nieuwe BMW 1 Reeks te bestellen.

Drie dieselmotoren en twee benzinemotoren bij introductie.

Voor de nieuwe BMW 1 Reeks biedt BMW keuze uit 3- en 4-cilinder-in-lijnmotoren van de nieuwste generatie van de BMW EfficientDynamics motorenfamilie. Die zijn dankzij veel kleine verbeteringen zuiniger, schoner en voor een deel sterker dan hun voorgangers.

Bij de introductie zijn drie dieselmotoren en twee benzinemotoren met vermogens van 85 kW (116 pk) in de BMW 116d (verbruik gecombineerd: 3,8-4,2 l/100 km; CO2-emissie gecombineerd: 100-110 g/km) tot 225 kW (306 pk) in de BMW M135i xDrive leverbaar. Dit model heeft de sterkste 4-cilinder-in-lijn benzinemotor van de BMW Group. De BMW M135i xDrive sprint van 0 naar 100 km/h in slechts 4,8 seconden (4,7 met M Performance Pack, te bestellen vanaf november 2019), de topsnelheid ligt op 250 km/h (begrensd). Ondanks deze indrukwekkende prestaties heeft dit model genoeg aan 6,8-7,1 l/100 km brandstof, bij een CO2-emissie van slechts 155-162 g/km.

De motoren van de BMW 1 Reeks voldoen aan de strenge emissienorm Euro 6d-TEMP, maar de BMW 116d voldoet zelfs al aan de nog strengere Euro 6d-norm. De benzinemotoren zijn voorzien van een roetfilter en de dieselmotoren van een dieselpartikelfilter, een NOx-reductiekatalysator en een SCR-systeem (Selective Catalytic Reduction).

Voor het eerst keuze uit drie aandrijftechnologieën.

De BMW 116d, BMW 118d en BMW 118i zijn standaard voorzien van de verder ontwikkelde handmatig te bedienen zesversnellingsbak. Nieuw is de zeer moderne 7-traps Steptronic transmissie met dubbele koppeling, die optioneel voor de BMW 116d en de BMW 118i leverbaar is. De 8-traps Steptronic transmissie, optioneel voor de BMW 118d en standaard in de BMW 120d xDrive, en de 8-traps Steptronic Sport transmissie in de BMW M135i xDrive verhogen het schakel- en rijcomfort nog verder. Beide automatische transmissies kunnen dankzij intelligente connectie met het boordnetwerk hun schakelstrategie aanpassen aan de omstandigheden op de weg.

Assistentiesystemen uit modellen hoger in het BMW gamma.

Talrijke innovatieve rijassistentiesystemen in de BMW 1 Reeks zijn afkomstig uit modellen die hoger staan in het gamma van BMW en zijn voor het eerst beschikbaar in de premium compacte klasse. Afhankelijk van het systeem worden camerabeelden en gegevens van de radar- en ultrasone sensors gebruikt om de bestuurder te waarschuwen voor gevaar en obstakels in de directe omgeving van de auto; zo nodig kunnen de systemen op basis daarvan met de remmen of de besturing ingrijpen om het ongevalsrisico te minimaliseren. Tot de standaarduitrusting behoren Collision Warning met voetgangersherkenning en City-remfunctie, die ook fietsers signaleert. Eveneens standaard is de bij snelheden tussen 70 en 210 km/h actieve Lane Departure Warning met actieve stuurcorrectie. Optioneel zijn de tot 160 km/h actieve Active Cruise Control – in combinatie met een automatische transmissie met Stop & Go functie – en de Driving Assistant met Lane Change Warning, Rear Collision Warning en Crossing-traffic Alert.

Park Assistant met innovatieve Reversing Assistant.

De nieuwe BMW 1 Reeks is optioneel te bestellen met Park Distance Control (PDC), achteruitrijcamera of met Park Assistant, die inparkeren met automatische ondersteuning in parkeervakken parallel aan of haaks op de rijrichting mogelijk maakt, evenals uitparkeren uit parallelle vakken. Nieuw in het premium compacte segment is de innovatieve Reversing Assistant. Die slaat de stuurbewegingen van het laatste traject bij snelheden tot 36 km/h op en kan de auto over een afstand van maximaal 50 meter en een snelheid van maximaal 9 km/h automatisch over exact hetzelfde traject achteruit laten rijden.

Smartphone als autosleutel.

De optionele BMW Digital Key en BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant zijn twee nieuwe, slimme en tot nu toe aan modellen hoger in het BMW gamma voorbehouden voorzieningen die nu hun entree maken in de premium compacte klasse. De BMW Digital Key biedt als optie de mogelijkheid de auto via Near Field Communication (NFC) met de smartphone te ver- en ontgrendelen, waarmee de conventionele autosleutel overbodig is. De bestuurder hoeft de smartphone slechts bij de deurgreep te houden om de auto te openen – ook als de batterij van de smartphone leeg is. De motor kan worden gestart als de smartphone op de daarvoor bestemde plaats ligt of op de draadloze oplaadmogelijkheid (Wireless Charging). De bestuurder kan de digitale sleutel delen met vijf personen, maar hij kan als alternatief ook de BMW Key Card met dezelfde functies gebruiken. De BMW Digital Key is geschikt voor de topmodellen met NFC-functionaliteit van Samsung Galaxy met Android 8.0 en hoger.

BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant: expert en gesprekspartner.

Onderdeel van het bedieningsconcept van de nieuwe BMW 1 Reeks is de in de BMW 3 Reeks gelanceerde BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant, die als echte BMW expert bijna alle functies van de auto kent. Na een korte begroeting “Hey BMW” zijn de bediening van de auto en de toegang tot functies en informatie eenvoudig met Voice Control te activeren. BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant leert als zelfstandige digitale assistent de gebruiken, wensen en favoriete instellingen van de bestuurder kennen en kan die in de relevante context plaatsen. Maar hij kan ook als ontspannen gesprekspartner dienen. Uniek in vergelijking tot andere digitale assistenten is de mogelijkheid om hem een zelfgekozen naam te geven.

Ontspannen aankomen dankzij Connected Navigation.

Online diensten voor Connected Navigation integreren bij de routeplanning interne en externe informatie. De bestuurder kan vanuit diverse apps bestemmingen rechtstreeks naar het navigatiesysteem in de nieuwe BMW 1 Reeks sturen, die opslaan en met de auto synchroniseren.

Bediening met de iDrive Controller, Touch, Voice Control en gebaren.

De nieuwe BMW 1 Reeks biedt keuze uit diverse bedieningsopties. Behalve de klassieke knoppen op de middenconsole en op het stuur zijn ook de iDrive Controller – in combinatie met de BMW Live Cockpit Plus met aanraakschermen – en de standaard aanwezige 8,8 inch grote Control Display met aanraakfunctie de centrale bestanddelen. De BMW Live Cockpit Plus omvat bovendien een navigatiesysteem en de intelligente Voice Control met online spraakverwerking.

De BMW Live Cockpit Professional biedt op basis van BMW Operating System 7.0 behalve het volledig digitale weergave- en bedieningssysteem met twee 10,25 inch grote displays ook een hoge mate van connectiviteit en veel mogelijkheden tot individualisering. Daartoe behoren een zelflerend navigatiesysteem en een multimediasysteem met harddisk. Optioneel is de mogelijkheid van bediening met gebaren.

Munich. Camouflaged pre-series vehicles of the third-generation BMW 1 Series are currently still undergoing extensive test drives at the BMW proving ground in Miramas, Southern France. The facility’s diverse handling tracks offer the optimal conditions for refining agility and dynamics of the new BMW 1 Series. This was preceded by five years of intensive development work and the change to the modern BMW front-wheel drive architecture.  

A genuine BMW with an individual character.
The new BMW 1 Series will set new standards in the premium compact class in terms of driving dynamics, whilst also offering significantly more space inside. With a cutting edge suspension set-up, innovative technologies and the integration of all driving dynamics-related components and control systems, the BMW 1 Series achieves greater agility both with the new front-wheel drive and BMW xDrive intelligent four-wheel drive. “Our customers will directly feel the fast and precise responsiveness that provides for an optimised driving experience. The BMW 1 Series will be a genuine BMW with an individual character,” says Peter Langen, head of Driving Dynamics at the BMW Group.

Transfer of technology from the BMW i3.
On the new BMW 1 Series, BMW has utilized all of the experience gained over recent years with BMW Group front-wheel drive models. A crucial element for the car’s exceptionally high agility is ARB technology (actuator contiguous wheel slip limitation) known from the BMW i3s, which is now celebrating its debut in a vehicle with a combustion engine. This transfer of technology from the BMW i brand to the core brand BMW improves traction decisively, while facilitating significantly more sensitive and faster control.

ARB technology, which is standard on the BMW 1 Series, features a slip control system positioned directly in the engine control unit instead of in the control unit for the DSC function (Dynamic Stability Control). Without long signal paths, information is passed on three times faster, with the regulation speed perceived by the driver actually being up to ten times faster. In close coordination with the DSC function, actuator contiguous wheel slip limitation significantly reduces the power understeer usually experienced with front-wheel drive vehicles, but without control intervention to stabilise lateral dynamics. BMW Performance Control (yaw moment distribution) also comes as standard and additionally increases agility of the BMW 1 Series through dynamic brake intervention. Moreover, torsional stiffness of the body structure is enhanced by the targeted use of additional struts such as a standard rear-end “boomerang strut”. “Through this extensive integration of all driving dynamics-related aspects as well as the new, innovative traction control feature, we are creating a completely novel driving experience,” says Holger Stauch, BMW 1 Series project manager.

The most powerful BMW Group 4-cylinder engine for the new top-of-the-range model.
A newly developed 4-cylinder engine stands out prominently within the drive portfolio of the new BMW 1 Series. The BMW M135i xDrive (combined fuel consumption: 7,1-6,8 l/100 km; combined CO2 emissions: 162-155 g/km)* features the most powerful 4-cylinder engine from the BMW Group with a 2-litre capacity and BMW TwinPower Turbo technology. The power unit delivers 225 kW (306 hp), ensuring extremely dynamic handling properties through individual technical solutions such as a reinforced crank drive, new pistons and cod rods, a larger exhaust turbocharger as well as optimised fuel injection valves.

More interior space.
The BMW 1 Series has taken a major leap forward in terms of interior spaciousness. Thanks to the new front-wheel drive architecture with transverse engines and a low centre tunnel, noticeably more space is now available than in the predecessor model, especially on the back seats. For example, legroom for rear-seat passengers has increased by 33 millimetres and headroom at the back by 19 millimetres. Access to the rear compartment is now easier and luggage compartment capacity has increased by 20 litres to 380 litres. Thus, the new BMW 1 Series combines outstanding handling characteristics with significantly improved spaciousness.

Munich/Beijing. Today’s market launch of the BMW 1 Series sedan extends the range of the German premium brand to include a model tailored specifically to meet the needs of Chinese customers. The BMW 1 Series Sedan with its hallmark sporty flair and market-specific overall concept is a highly emotional new entry to the compact premium vehicle segment that is seeing such high potential in China. The new model is offered exclusively for the Chinese automotive market by the BMW Group and BMW Brilliance Automotive Ltd.

The BMW 1 Series Sedan was developed at BMW headquarters in Munich with the support of Chinese engineers. The vehicle concept, and equipment are geared towards the specific requirements of modern target groups in China as well as the road and traffic conditions there. During development for volume production, the new model underwent intense testing and harmonisation both globally like on the Nürburgring as well as in the wide-ranging climatic and road conditions to be found in China so as to ensure a level of everyday suitability and driving pleasure that is oriented towards the real environment in which it will be used.

The BMW 1 Series Sedan is manufactured as part of the joint venture between the BMW Group and BMW Brilliance Automotive Ltd. at the Tiexi plant opened in 2012 which forms part of the Shenyang production site in the north east of China. Other models of the brand designed specifically for the Chinese automotive market are also produced in Shenyang. Vehicle production in Shenyang is subject to the same rigorous quality standards that apply throughout the entire worldwide BMW Group production network.

Compact sedan with the sporty flair characteristic of BMW.

The vehicle concept of the BMW 1 Series Sedan is precisely tailored to the preferences of Chinese customers. With its notchback body in characteristic three-box design, the new model reflects the style preferred by such customers in numerous vehicle categories. A special program of BMW products has been assembled in response to the popularity of sedans in China. BMW 3 Series and BMW 5 Series Sedans are also available in a long version developed exclusively for the Chinese market and manufactured at the Shenyang production site.

As a supplement to the 5-door hatchback BMW 1 Series models produced in Germany, the brand now adds a sedan to its range in the premium compact segment that was conceived especially for China and solely produced there. The BMW 1 Series Sedan represents the brand's hallmark combination of sporty flair and elegance while also offering best in segment ride comfort, luxurious equipment and progressive connectivity technology that is exceptional for the compact segment. With these qualities, it is a particularly attractive model for young target groups seeking access to the world of BMW premium automobiles.

Hallmark design with distinctive lines.

The sporty elegance of the BMW 1 Series Sedan, unique in the premium compact segment, is reflected in both the proportions and the lines of its body. An unmistakable appearance is especially created by applying the characteristic design features of BMW sedans to the new model’s compact exterior dimensions with a length of 4 456 millimetres, a width of 1 803 millimetres and a height of 1 446 millimetres. Short overhangs, a long engine compartment lid, a passenger cell that is set back and a long wheelbase of 2 670 millimetres give the BMW 1 Series Sedan an elongated, sporty look. The distinctive body line rises constantly from the front wheel arch via the door openers to the rear lights, additionally emphasising the dynamic orientation of the car’s silhouette.

The contours of the doors are also harmoniously integrated in the proportions of the compact model. The rear openings reach far back into the tail section, allowing comfortable entry and exit for rear passengers. What is more, the side view of the 4-door model exhibits the striking surface design that is typical of the BMW 1 Series. The intense modelling of the surface areas creates an attractive interplay of light and shade, conveying a vibrant sense of athletic flair.

The hallmark brand features of the front section include the wide radiator grille, large air inlets and twin circular headlights with state-of-the-art LED technology. The rear of the BMW 1 Series Sedan sports a model-specific design dominated by horizontal lines which underscore the vehicle’s width and supreme road holding. The rear lights protruding far into the side section to form a characteristic L shape likewise emphasise the car’s powerful appearance.

Driver-oriented cockpit, generous space and premium ambience.

The interior of the BMW 1 Series Sedan offers the perfect basis for intense driving pleasure and enjoyable travel. The cockpit is driver-oriented in design as is typical of BMW automobiles. Both the seating position and the arrangement of the display and control elements enhances concentration on the road. The iDrive operating system featuring a large on-board computer in flatscreen design and the controller in the centre console is a standard feature of the BMW 1 Series Sedan. The horizontal lines of the instrument cluster continue on into the door trim panels, thereby creating an impression of smooth harmony, while also contributing to the generous sense of space.

Precisely finished surfaces and high-quality materials are key to the premium interior ambience of the compact 4-door model. Rear comfort is optimised not just by means of generous leg space and headroom but also with a model-specific version of the rear seat. New engine generation: revving power and efficiency in BMW style.

The modern and sporty character of the BMW 1 Series Sedan is reflected in the engine portfolio available at the model's market launch. There is a choice of three power units of the BMW Group’s latest generation. Their weight-optimised aluminium construction and the current version of BMW TwinPower Turbo Technology ensure exceptional revving power and torque in addition to exemplary efficiency. The technology package consists of turbocharging, petrol direction injection with centrally positioned injectors, and variable valve control in the form of VALVETRONIC as patented by the BMW Group, and variable camshaft control on the intake and exhaust side (double VANOS).

This combination results in particularly sporty performance characteristics in the 2.0-litre 4-cylinder engine of the BMW 125i Sedan. It mobilises a peak output of 170 kW/231 hp and a maximum torque of 350 Newton metres that goes on stream at 1 250 rpm. Fitted as standard with an 8-speed Steptronic transmission, the BMW 125i Sedan sprints from standing to 100 km/h in 6.8 seconds, achieving a cut-off top speed of 250 km/h. These performance figures are combined with an average fuel consumption of 6.4 litres per 100 kilometres and a combined CO2 figure of 152 grams per kilometre.

Another 2.0-litre 4-cylinder engine is fitted in the BMW 120i Sedan. With a peak output of 141 kW/192 hp and a maximum torque of 280 Newton metres of 1 250 rpm, it also ensures sporty performance figures. In combination with the 8-speed Steptronic transmission – likewise a standard feature – it accelerates from zero to 100 km/h in 7.5 seconds and reaches a top speed of 235 km/h. The combined fuel consumption of the BMW 120i Sedan is 6.2 litres per 100 kilometres, while the figure for combined CO2 emissions is 148 grams per kilometre.

The engine range is rounded off with a 3-cylinder power unit for the BMW 118i Sedan. From a capacity of 1.5 litres it generates a peak output of 100 kW/136 hp, while its maximum torque of 220 Newton metres is available at 1 250 rpm. Fitted with a 6-speed Steptronic transmission, the BMW 118i Sedan takes 9.4 seconds to accelerate from zero to 100 km/h and its top speed is 212 km/h. The efficiency of the engine is reflected in a combined fuel consumption of 5.5 litres per 100 kilometres and a combined CO2 figure of 132 grams per kilometre.

Model-specific suspension set-up, seamless safety.

The driving properties of the new BMW 1 Series Sedan are characterised by athletic flair, ride comfort and safety. A perfect basis is provided for this by means of power transmission to the front wheels, an almost equally balanced axle load distribution and the weight-optimised design of the body and suspension. The suspension set-up is not just geared towards the sporty character of the model but also meets high demands in terms of comfort. The suspension and damping are designed to ensure occupants experience as relaxed a ride as possible on all road surfaces. Optimised acoustic comfort is taken care of by such features as a fully panelled underbody and tyres with reduced rolling resistance.

Powerful disc brakes and an electromechanical power steering including Servotronic speed-related support help achieve a precisely controllable driving response. Dynamic Stability Control DSC offers a broad range of functions that contribute to secure handling at all times. Light alloy wheels in a size of 17 inches for the BMW 118iSedan (16 inches for BMW 118i Lifestyle) and 18 inches for the two other model variants come as standard.

The torsionally stiff body structure of the BMW 1 Series Sedan benefits both agility and occupant protection. The safety concept also includes precisely defined load paths and generous deformation zones which serve to divert and absorb impact forces in the event of a collision. The interior provides a comprehensive range of safety features including not just front and side airbags but also side head/curtain airbags and three-point automatic safety belts on all seats. All model variants come off the production line as standard fitted with tyres featuring emergency running properties.

Driving experience switch as standard, selective customisation with Sport Line and Luxury Line.

The standard driving experience switch in the centre console enables a vehicle-set-up which is either markedly sporty, comfort-oriented or efficiency optimised in character – entirely according to preference. The modes COMFORT, SPORT and ECO PRO are available at the press of a button. In addition, the standard features of the BMW 1 Series Sedan also include automatic air conditioning with optimised acoustic properties. This forms part of a model-specific heating and ventilation system which is also adapted to the specific climatic conditions in China, offering not just high performance but also a highly effective air filtering function. In addition to numerous other comfort functions, the program of optional items includes a broad range of exterior paint finishes, light alloy wheels, interior colours, seat surfaces and interior trim finishers which allow customers to individualise the design of the BMW 1 Series Sedan to suit their personal preference. The Sport Line and Luxury Line models are available as an alternative to the basic version. Their design features for the exterior and interior allow selective customisation that lends particular emphasis either to the BMW 1 Series Sedan's agile sporty flair or its exclusive appearance.

Unique connectivity: Driver assistance, services, apps.

The optional driver assistance systems provide an additional bonus in terms of comfort and safety. The range of systems includes the Driving Assistant including collision warning with city brake function, the Parking Assistant, and also Active Cruise Control with stop and go function.

Intelligent connectivity gives the BMW 1 Series Sedan a range of online-based functions that is unique even beyond the compact segment. Apps allow seamless integration of numerous infotainment, navigation and communication services in the vehicle’s operating system. What is more, BMW Connected gives the driver a personal mobility assistant which provides wide-ranging support in arriving at a destination conveniently and stress-free. The flexible platform Open Mobility Cloud allows various customer end devices such as smartphones, tablets and smart watches to be connected to the vehicle. This means that personal schedule entries can be used to plan a trip before getting into the car, for example. Based on real-time traffic data, BWM Connected not only calculates the ideal route but also the perfect departure time, providing the driver with a notification on their end device in good time. It is also possible to use the smartphone to find out whether the windows and doors are closed or how much fuel is left in the tank.

Wereldpremière van BMW’s krachtigste dieselmotor ooit in de nieuwe BMW 750d xDrive en BMW 750Ld xDrive – BMW 7 Reeks ook leverbaar als BMW iPerformance met plug-inhybrideaandrijving – Nieuwe benzinemotoren voor de BMW 1 Reeks en BMW 2 Reeks – BMW M Performance uitvoering van BMW 1 Reeks en BMW 2 Reeks met nieuwe zescilinder-in-lijn benzinemotor – Karakteristieke (optionele) designdetails voor alle BMW iPerformance modellen.

Met de wereldpremière van de krachtigste dieselmotor in een productiemodel van BMW en de introductie van drie BMW iPerformance modellen wordt het gamma van de BMW 7 Reeks vanaf de zomer van 2016 nog veelzijdiger en fascinerender. Tegelijkertijd worden de BMW 1 Reeks en de BMW 2 Reeks leverbaar met benzinemotoren van de nieuwste generatie. Een voorbeeld hiervan is de nog sterkere, maar ook efficiëntere zescilinder-in-lijn benzinemotor voor de BMW M Performance modellen BMW M140i (leverbaar als drie- en vijfdeurs), de BMW M240i Coupé en de BMW M240i Cabrio.

Net als de plug-inhybride uitvoeringen van de BMW 7 Reeks zijn de drie nieuwe BMW iPerformance modellen optioneel te voorzien van specifieke designdetails aan de buitenzijde. Andere innovaties zijn de beschikbaarheid vanaf komende zomer van het als optie leverbare telefoonsysteem met draadloze oplaadmogelijkheid en WLAN-hotspot voor meer modellen. In combinatie met het tegen meerprijs leverbare navigatiesysteem Professional is het bedieningssysteem iDrive nu voorzien van een nieuwe, grote menudisplay op basis van de nieuwe ‘tegel-lay-out’ in de BMW 1 Reeks, de BMW 2 Reeks Coupé en de BMW 2 Reeks Cabrio, bepaalde versies van de BMW 3 Reeks en BMW 4 Reeks alsmede de BMW X5 en de BMW X6.

BMW 7 Reeks: Nieuwe high-performance dieselmotor en drie BMW iPerformance versies.
Dankzij de nieuwste technische innovaties, die vanaf de zomer van 2016 leverbaar zijn, vormt de BMW 7 Reeks in de topklasse de maatstaf voor dynamiek en efficiency. Een compleet nieuw ontwikkelde zescilinder-in-lijn dieselmotor debuteert in de BMW 750d xDrive en de BMW 750Ld xDrive. De BMW TwinPower Turbo technologie in de drielitermotor omvat vier turbo’s, waarvan de nauwkeurige aansturing voor een vroege afgifte van de trekkracht zorgt, en die trekkracht blijft beschikbaar tot hoge toerentallen. Met een maximumvermogen van 294 kW (400 pk) en een maximumkoppel van 760 Nm is de nieuwe zescilinder de krachtigste dieselmotor ooit in een BMW. Dankzij de sublieme vermogensafgifte en de standaard intelligente vierwielaandrijving accelereert de BMW 750d xDrive van 0 naar 100 km/u in 4,6 seconden (BMW 750Ld xDrive: 4,7 seconden). Verder kenmerkt de nieuwe top-of-the-range dieselmotor zich door een buitengewoon laag brandstofverbruik, dat uniek is gezien het hoge prestatieniveau. Het gecombineerde brandstofverbruik van de BMW 750d xDrive en de BMW 750Ld xDrive ligt tussen de 5,7 en 5,9 l/100 km en de CO2-emissies liggen tussen 149 en 154 g/km (volgens EU-testcyclus, afhankelijk van gekozen bandenmaat).

De BMW 7 Reeks iPerformance versies zijn net als de nieuwe dieselvarianten leverbaar vanaf de zomer van 2016. De plug-inhybride aandrijving omvat BMW eDrive technologie van BMW i en wordt leverbaar voor de BMW 740e iPerformance met standaardwielbasis, de BMW 740Le iPerformance met lange wielbasis en de BMW 740Le xDrive iPerformance met intelligente vierwielaandrijving. Samen leveren de verbrandingsmotor en de elektromotor in deze versies een systeemvermogen van 240 kW (326 pk), waarbij de intelligente aansturing voor een directe vermogensafgifte en een ongeëvenaarde efficiency zorgt. Ook kan volledig elektrisch een afstand van maximaal 44-48 kilometer worden afgelegd (BMW 740Le xDrive iPerformance: 41-45 kilometer). De sprint van 0 naar 100 km/u vergt 5,4 seconden in de BMW 740e iPerformance, 5,5 seconden in de BMW 740Le iPerformance en 5,3 seconden in de BMW 740Le xDrive iPerformance. Het gemiddelde gecombineerde brandstofverbruik per 100 kilometer ligt tussen de 2,0 en 2,2 liter (BMW 740Le xDrive iPerformance: 2,1-2,5 liter). De CO2-emissie bedraagt afhankelijk van de uitvoering 45-50 g/km (BMW 740e iPerformance), 45-51 g/km (BMW 740Le iPerformance) en 49-56 g/km voor de BMW 740Le xDrive iPerformance (volgens EU-testcyclus voor plug-inhybrides, afhankelijk van gekozen bandenmaat).

BMW M Performance-uitvoeringen van de BMW 1 Reeks en BMW 2 Reeks: nieuwe motorengeneratie met meer vermogen en betere efficiency.
Vanaf juli 2016 wordt het bijzonder sportieve karakter van de BMW M Performance uitvoeringen van de BMW 1 Reeks en de BMW 2 Reeks nog verder onderstreept door een bijzonder krachtige zescilinder benzinemotor van de nieuwste generatie. De nieuw ontwikkelde drielitermotor met M Performance Twin Power Turbo techniek heeft een vermogen van 250 kW (340 pk), wat 10 kW (14 pk) meer is dan de vorige motor. Het maximumkoppel bedraagt 500 Nm. Daardoor leveren de BMW M Performance modellen nu prestaties die vergelijkbaar zijn met die van de BMW 1 Reeks M Coupé, die van 2011 tot 2012 in productie was. Ze leggen de sprint van 0 naar 100 km/u tot 0,3 seconden sneller af dan hun voorganger, terwijl het brandstofverbruik en de CO2-emissies volgens de EU-testcyclus maximaal 7% lager zijn. Het toegenomen vermogen en de extra dynamiek komen ook tot uiting in de nieuwe typeaanduidingen voor de BMW M140i driedeurs en de BMW M140i vijfdeurs, de BMW M240i Coupé en de BMW M240i Cabrio. Ze zijn optioneel verkrijgbaar met de intelligente vierwielaandrijving BMW xDrive.

Met de standaard handgeschakelde zesversnellingsbak sprinten de BMW M140i driedeurs en de BMW M140i vijfdeurs van 0 naar 100 km/u in 4,8 seconden en met de als optie leverbare achttraps Steptronic sporttransmissie in 4,6 seconden. Het brandstofverbruik bedraagt volgens de EU-testcyclus 7,8 l/100 km (automaat: 7,1 l/100 km) en de CO2-emissie 179 g/km (163 g/km). De BMW M140i xDrive driedeurs en de BMW M140i xDrive vijfdeurs worden standaard geleverd met een achttraps Steptronic sporttransmissie en ze bereiken de 100 km/u vanaf stilstand in 4,4 seconden. Hun gecombineerde brandstofverbruik is 7,4 l/100 km en hun CO2-emissie is 169 g/km.

De BMW M Performance versies van de BMW 2 Reeks zijn optioneel leverbaar met intelligente vierwielaandrijving BMW xDrive en zijn dan standaard uitgerust met de achttraps Steptronic sporttransmissie. De BMW M240i Coupe sprint van 0 naar 100 km/u in 4,8 seconden (automaat: 4,6 seconden) en heeft volgens de EU-testcyclus een gecombineerd verbruik van 7,8 l/100 km (7,1 l/100 km). De CO2-emissie bedraagt 179 g/km (163 g/km). De BMW M240i xDrive Coupé sprint van 0 naar 100 km/u in 4,4 seconden en heeft een gemiddeld verbruik van 7,4 l/100 km en een CO2-emissie van 169 g/km.

De BMW M240i Cabrio accelereert van 0 naar 100 km/u in 4,9 seconden (automaat: 4,7 seconden). Het gemiddelde verbruik is 8,3 l/100 km (automaat: 7,4 l/100 km) en de CO2-emissie bedraagt 189 g/km (169 g/km). De BMW M240i xDrive Cabrio sprint van 0 naar 100 km/u in 4,6 seconden en heeft een gemiddeld brandstofverbruik van 7,8 l/100 km (EU-testcyclus) en een CO2-emissie van 179 g/km.

BMW 1 Reeks, BMW 2 Reeks Coupé en BMW 2 Reeks Cabrio: nieuwe viercilinder benzinemotor voor acht versies.
Vanaf juli 2016 zijn tal van uitvoeringen van de BMW 1 Reeks en BMW 2 Reeks leverbaar met motoren van de nieuwe generatie. Twee varianten van de BMW 1 Reeks driedeurs, de BMW 1 Reeks vijfdeurs, de BMW 2 Reeks Coupé en de BMW 2 Reeks Cabrio worden aangedreven door nieuwe viercilinder benzinemotoren die een nog betere combinatie van rijplezier en efficiency bieden. De tweelitermotoren zijn voorzien van de nieuwste BMW TwinPower Turbo technologie met een Twin Scroll turbo, directe brandstofinjectie, VALVETRONIC en Double VANOS. Het vermogen wordt aan de achterwielen afgegeven via een standaard handgeschakelde zesversnellingsbak of optioneel via een achttraps Steptronic-transmissie.

De nieuwe motoren zorgen in de BMW 120i driedeurs en de BMW 120i vijfdeurs voor een vermogenstoename van 5 kW (7 pk) naar 135 kW (184 pk). Met de handgeschakelde zesversnellingsbak of de optioneel verkrijgbare achttraps Steptronic transmissie accelereren beide modellen van 0 naar 100 km/u in 7,1 seconden. Het gecombineerde brandstofverbruik ligt op 5,7-6,1 l/100 km (automaat: 5,5-5,9 l/100 km). De CO2 emissie bedraagt 131-140 g/km (126-135 g/km, volgens EU-testcyclus, afhankelijk van gekozen bandenmaat).
Het vermogen van de BMW 125i driedeurs en de BMW 125i vijfdeurs is met 5 kW (7 pk) toegenomen. Met een vermogen van 165 kW (224 pk) en de inmiddels tot de standaarduitrusting behorende achttraps Steptronic transmissie sprinten beide versies van 0 naar 100 km/u in 6,1 seconden. De verbeterde dynamiek gaat gepaard met een lager brandstofverbruik van 5,7-5,9 l/100 km en een CO2 emissie van 130-134 g/km (volgens EU-testcyclus, afhankelijk van gekozen bandenmaat).

De nieuwe versie van de 135 kW (184 pk) sterke viercilindermotor verbetert ook de efficiency van de BMW 220i Coupé en de BMW 220i Cabrio. De BMW 220i Coupé accelereert van 0 naar 100 km/u in 7,1 seconden (automaat: 7,2 seconden) en heeft een gemiddeld verbruik van 5,7-6,1 l/100 km (5,5-5,9 l/100 km) alsmede een CO2-emissie van 131-140 g/km (126-135 g/km). De BMW 220i Cabrio sprint van 0 naar 100 km/u in 7,5 seconden (7,7 seconden) en het gemiddelde brandstofverbruik bedraagt nu 6,1-6,5 l/100 km (5,7-6,1 liter). De CO2-emissie is 139-149 g/km 131-(140 g/km, volgens EU-testcyclus, afhankelijk van gekozen bandenmaat).

In juli 2016 krijgen de sportiefste viercilinderuitvoeringen van de BMW 2 Reeks een vermogensupgrade van 5 kW (7 pk) naar 185 kW (252 pk) ten opzichte van hun voorgangers, de BMW 230i Coupé en BMW 230i Cabrio. Deze uitvoeringen zijn standaard ook voorzien van een handgeschakelde zesversnellingsbak en optioneel van een achttraps Steptronic of een achttraps Steptronic sport transmissie. De sprint van 0 naar 100 km/u kost de BMW 230i Coupe 5,8 seconden (automaat: 5,6 seconden). Het brandstofverbruik is 6,2-6,4 l/100 km (5,7-5,9 l/100 km) bij een CO2-emissie van 142-147 g/km (130-134 g/km). De BMW 230i Cabrio accelereert van 0 naar 100 km/u in 6,1 seconden (automaat: 5,9 seconden) en heeft een gemiddeld verbruik van 6,5-6,8 l/100 km (6,0-6,2 l/100 km). De CO2-emissie bedraagt 149-155 g/km (137-142 g/km, volgens EU-testcyclus, afhankelijk van gekozen bandenmaat).

Kenmerkende designdetails voor de BMW iPerformance-modellen.
Met de introductie van de eerste plug-inhybride modellen heeft BMW de BMW eDrive techniek – bestaande uit elektromotoren, high-performance lithium-ion-accu’s en intelligent energiemanagement – aan het gamma toegevoegd. Behalve de drie plug-inhybride uitvoeringen van de BMW 7 Reeks met 15 procent bijtelling, die vanaf juli 2016 leverbaar zijn, zijn in drie andere segmenten ook versies leverbaar die een verbrandingsmotor combineren met een elektromotor. Deze dragen voortaan de modelaanduidingen BMW 225xe iPerformance Active Tourer, BMW 330e iPerformance Berline en BMW X5 xDrive40e iPerformance. Dankzij de technologietransfer vanuit BMW i bieden ze een nieuw niveau van dynamiek en een grensverleggende efficiency, wat wordt onderstreept door kenmerkende designdetails aan de buitenzijde.

De BMW iPerformance zijn optioneel te voorzien van specifieke designdetails, zoals een ‘eDrive’ logo op de C-stijlen, een BMW i logo op de zijkanten, blauwe naafdoppen en een BMW-grille met sleuven in de typerende kleur BMW i blue. Vanaf december 2016 zijn deze nieuwe features optioneel leverbaar voor de BMW X5 xDrive40e iPerformance; voor alle overige BMW iPerformance modellen zijn ze al vanaf juli 2016 optioneel leverbaar. Andere uitrustingsdetails die oorspronkelijk voor de BMW i3 en de BMW i8 zijn ontwikkeld, zijn nu ook standaard of optioneel leverbaar voor alle BMW iPerformance modellen. Dit zijn onder meer hybridespecifieke BMW ConnectedDrive services en het complete BMW i 360° ELECTRIC-pakket.

Nieuw van BMW ConnectedDrive: BMW iDrive met een geoptimaliseerd menudisplay, een telefoonsysteem met draadloze oplaadmogelijkheid en een WLAN-hotspot voor meer modellen.
Vanaf de zomer van 2016 zijn drie nieuwe features beschikbaar op het gebied van BMW ConnectedDrive. Die waren voorheen alleen beschikbaar voor de BMW 7 Reeks, de BMW 6 Reeks en de BMW X3 en de BMW X4. Voortaan zijn ze ook beschikbaar voor de BMW 1 Reeks, de BMW 2 Reeks Coupé en de BMW 2 Reeks Cabrio, de BMW 3 Reeks, de BMW 4 Reeks, de BMW X5 en de BMW X6. Een nieuw, bijzonder duidelijk ingedeeld menu en een hogere resolutie voor de Control Display optimaliseren de bediening van de auto, het infotainmentsysteem, het navigatiesysteem en communicatiefuncties via de iDrive controller. In combinatie met het navigatiesysteem Professional toont de display het hoofdmenu en de bedieningsopties voor de diverse functies niet langer in lijsten, maar in de vorm van naast elkaar geplaatste knopsymbolen. Verder is de spraakherkenningsfunctie van het navigatiesysteem Professional aangevuld met de functie Natural Language, waarmee gesproken instructies niet alleen als vooraf bepaalde tekstmodules kunnen worden gegeven, maar ook met vrijelijk geformuleerd in complete zinnen.

Het optionele telefoonsysteem met draadloze oplaadmogelijkheid biedt meer comfort bij het gebruik van mobiele telefoons in de auto. Inductief oplaadbare smartphones kunnen draadloos worden opgeladen tijdens het rijden door ze op de hiervoor bestemde plek op de tunnelconsole te leggen. Niet alleen wordt de smartphone gekoppeld aan het bedieningssysteem van de auto, het nieuwe systeem zorgt ook voor verbinding met de buitenantenne van de auto. Ook omvat het systeem twee USB-poorten en een WLAN hotspotfunctie, die high-speed internet-connectiviteit biedt voor maximaal acht mobiele apparaten.

Groter aanbod aan lederen bekleding voor de M Sport uitvoeringen van de BMW 1 Reeks, BMW 2 Reeks, BMW 3 Reeks en BMW 4 Reeks; nieuw entertainmentsysteem voor de achterpassagiers leverbaar voor de BMW X5 en de BMW X6.
Dankzij nieuwe personaliseringsmogelijkheden voor het interieur zijn de M Sport modellen vanaf juli 2016 nog aantrekkelijker. Doordat die qua kleurstelling perfect past bij de dynamische M Sport, is de lederen bekleding Dakota in de kleur zwart met blauwe stiksels voortaan leverbaar voor de BMW 1 Reeks, de BMW 2 Reeks Coupé, de BMW 2 Reeks Cabrio en voor alle uitvoeringen van de BMW 3 Reeks en de BMW 4 Reeks. In het geval van de BMW 3 Reeks en de BMW 4 Reeks is voor zowel de M Sport als de uitvoeringen Luxury Line en Sport Line nu de bekleding Dakota Veneto Beige verkrijgbaar in combinatie met de interieurkleur zwart.

BMW, een van de meest succesvolle premiumconstructeurs, staat ook op een goede plaats in het segment van de vierwielaangedreven wagens, een segment waar het merk reeds 30 jaar actief is. De productie van de nieuwe BMW 1 Reeks start met een historische mijlpaal in het internationale succesverhaal van het model - De twee miljoenste 1 Reeks rolt van de band in de BMW fabriek Regensburg richting zijn Japanse nieuwe eigenaar. In bijlage vindt u het Engelstalige persbericht.

Een sterk gewijzigde voor- en achterkant, een verfijnde en premium sfeer in het interieur en ongekende vermogensreserves onder de kap: dat zijn de hoofdkenmerken van de nog expressievere, sportievere en aerodynamischere nieuwe BMW 1 Reeks (normverbruik over de gemengde cyclus: 8,0 – 3,4 l/100 km; CO2-emissies over de gemengde cyclus: 188 – 89 g/km). De voorbije tien jaar werden wereldwijd bijna twee miljoen exemplaren van de BMW 1 Reeks aan de man gebracht en deze jongste editie zal de lat inzake rijplezier nog hoger leggen in het segment van de compacte premiumwagens.

De 3- en 5-deursversies van de nieuwe BMW 1 Reeks kunnen schermen met een volledig nieuw motorgamma en andere ingrepen om het verbruik en de emissies terug te dringen. Ze vestigen alweer nieuwe normen dankzij de introductie van nieuwe BMW EfficientDynamics-technologie.
