The straight six-cylinder engine featuring M TwinPower Turbo Technology will in future be available in three performance levels. Still unparalleled in the competitive environment is the combination of the 353 kW/480 hp variant of the power unit with a 6-speed manual transmission in the new BMW M4 Coupé (fuel consumption combined: 10.1 – 10.0 l/ 100 km; CO₂ emissions combined: 230 – 226 g/km according to WLTP). The power plant in the new BMW M4 Competition Coupé (fuel consumption combined: 9.9 – 9.7 l/ 100 km; CO₂ emissions combined: 223 – 219 g/km according to WLTP) delivers a maximum power output of 375 kW/510 hp, transferring power to the road via an 8-speed M Steptronic transmission with Drivelogic. In combination with M xDrive featured in the four-wheel drive variants of both the Coupé and Convertible, this transmission guarantees extremely superior transformation of power output – now increased to 390 kW/530 hp – into exhilarating driving dynamics.

Thanks to the current modifications, the high-performance automobiles of the premium midsize segment all have the ideal prerequisites for the continuation of their popularity on international automobile markets, whilst strengthening their leading position within the segment. The USA has become the major sales market for the BMW M4 Coupé, followed by China, Germany and the UK. In the USA, the BMW M4 Convertible accounts by far for the highest sales figures. Moreover, the open-top four-seater enjoys great popularity in Germany and the UK. Both globally and in each of their relevant markets, models of the BMW M4 Series occupy by a clear margin the position as market leaders in each of their respective competitive environments.

The new editions of the BMW M4 Coupé and the BMW M4 Convertible are produced at the BMW Group Dingolfing plant. The worldwide market launch of the new models will begin with the commencement of production in March 2024.

Bespoke vehicles, M-typical performance.

Uncompromising dynamics both in everyday driving and on the racetrack are characteristic of BMW M4 Series models, this also being reflected in their design. Powerful proportions and M-specific design features for optimising the cooling air supply and the aerodynamic balance underpin their status as high-performance sports cars. The large, vertical BMW kidney grille sporting M-typical and horizontally arranged double slats, powerfully modelled wheel arches and prominently flared side sills with a contrasting high-gloss black finish as well as attachments for the front and rear aprons provide clear reference to the dynamic potential of both the Coupé and the Convertible.

Furthermore, the various model variants present themselves as bespoke vehicles, each of them enhancing the extreme sporty driving experience with their very own special facets. For example, a carbon reinforced plastic (CRP) roof is standard on all variants of the BMW M4 Coupé. The BMW M4 Competition Convertible with M xDrive offers a particularly unique opportunity to enjoy M-typical performance along with an extraordinary open-air driving experience. The car’s sophisticated panel bow soft-top roof combines the benefits of a retractable hardtop with the look of a classic fabric roof. The electric drive mechanism allows it to be opened or closed while on the move.

Straight six-cylinder engine with motor racing technology and new performance specification.

The straight six-cylinder power units used in the new BMW M4 Coupé and the new BMW M4 Convertible combine the typical high-revving characteristics offered by engines from BMW M GmbH with the current version of M TwinPower Turbo Technology. All variants of the 3-litre engine impress with responsive power delivery and high-torque characteristics up into the highest load ranges. These attributes are responsible for those unmistakable, linear performance characteristics, which have always been the hallmark of BMW M automobiles.

The engine‘s design features directly derive from motor racing and include the extremely stiff crankcase, which is manufactured in a sleeveless closed-deck design, the weight-reduced forged crankshaft and the iron coating, which is applied to the cylinder liners in an arc wire spraying process (AWSP). Manufactured in a 3-D printing process, the cylinder head core features an optimised routing of the coolant ducts, something that cannot be realised using conventional metal casting technology. In this way, both weight and temperature management are optimised. Like the cooling system, the oil supply is also aligned to the special demands of racetrack use.

M TwinPower Turbo Technology comprises two mono scroll turbochargers, each of them supplying three cylinders with compressed air. Indirect intercooling facilitated by a low-temperature circuit and specific compressors optimise the power output of the charging unit. Moreover, the technology package includes the petrol injection system High Precision Injection operating at a maximum pressure of 350 bar, variable valve control VALVETRONIC and infinitely variable camshaft control Double VANOS.

Maximum power output of the straight six-cylinder power unit variant featured in both the new BMW M4 Competition Coupé with M xDrive and the new BMW M4 Competition Convertible with M xDrive has been increased from the previous 375 kW/510 hp to 390 kW/530 hp, this being reached at an engine speed of 6,250 rpm. The further developed engine retrieves maximum torque of 650 Nm within an extended engine speed range of between 2,750 and 5,730 rpm. This results in even more superior and continuous power delivery, thus further enhancing the performance experience above all in highly dynamic driving situations. This exclusive performance specification is realised through a modification of the engine control system, providing further proof of the outstanding potential of the straight six-cylinder engine developed by BMW M GmbH and which serves as the basis for the power plant featured in the BMW M4 GT3 long-distance vehicle.

Whilst the new BMW M4 Competition Coupé with M xDrive is able to accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in 3.5 seconds, the new BMW M4 Competition Convertible with M xDrive takes 3.7 seconds to reach the same speed from a standstill. All model variants of the new BMW M4 Coupé and the BMW M4 Convertible achieve a top speed that is electronically limited to 155 mph. This value can be increased to 174 mph with the optional M Driver’s Package (BMW M4 Competition Convertible with M xDrive) or 180 mph respectively.

Honed on the Nürburgring: M-typical overall package comprising engine, power transmission and suspension technology. 

Like the 8-speed M Steptronic transmission with Drivelogic fitted to all other model variants, the 6-speed manual transmission in the new BMW M4 Coupé is perfectly matched to the performance characteristics of each engine. Shift paddles on the steering wheel for spontaneous manual intervention at each selected driving speed and the Drivelogic button for variable shift characteristics pave the way for a driving experience that is customisable in a variety of ways.

In addition, the most powerful version of the straight six-cylinder engine is combined with intelligent four-wheel drive M xDrive. This gives the new BMW M4 Competition Coupé with M xDrive and the new BMW M4 Competition Convertible with M xDrive outstanding traction, an attribute that is expressed in their impressive acceleration values. Thanks to a rear-wheel biased system and in conjunction with a fully variable Active M differential in the rear wheel transmission, the M xDrive system also enhances that typical M feeling during dynamic cornering. Via the set-up menu the driver is able to select, in addition to the default setting 4WD, the 4WD Sport mode, in which greater percentage of torque is directed to the rear axle. Moreover, when DSC is deactivated, the 2WD mode becomes available for exclusive transmission of power to the rear wheels.

High torsional stiffness of the body structure and the suspension connections create the ideal prerequisites for inspiring agility and spontaneous response to steering commands. Model-specific body struts also help the high-performance model provide that BMW M typical combination of dynamic, agile and precise handling.

M-specific kinematics and elasto-kinematics of the double-joint spring strut front axle and the five-link rear axle guarantee the harmony between extreme driving dynamics and balanced comfort features on all models of the series, both in everyday use and on longer journeys. Three characteristic maps are available via the M Setup menu for individual adjustments of the Adaptive M suspension, which comes as standard. Further components of the suspension technology include M Servotronic steering and the integrated braking system, which is utilised in conjunction both with the standard M compound brakes and the optional M carbon-ceramic brakes.

The integrated application of all drive and suspension systems, which was tested, inter alia, on the northern loop of the Nürburgring, guarantees, also in everyday traffic, highly dynamic and precisely controllable handling. A form of driving pleasure that is unique within the competitive environment is provided by the stability control system DSC (Dynamic Stability Control), which in addition to the M Dynamic Mode comprises ten-stage adjustable wheel slip limitation. By means of the M Traction Control function, optionally available for the BMW M4 Coupé and standard on all Competition models, the driver is able to reduce system interventions in stages in order to cautiously approach the physical limits of driving when the car is used on the racetrack, for instance. The M Lap Timer and the M Drift Analyser provide functions that emphasise the character of these high-performance models as ultimate driving machines for use on closed-off roads.

Wheel sizes aligned to each axle, M forged light-alloy wheels boasting a new design.

Axle-specificwheel sizes ensure a particularly comprehensive transfer of lateral forces during dynamic cornering. The new BMW M4 Coupé and the new BMW M4 Competition Coupé both come as standard with 18-inch M forged light-alloy wheels at the front and 19” at the rear. The standard configuration of the BMW M4 Competition Coupé with M xDrive and the BMW M4 Competition Convertible with M xDrive comprises M forged light alloys of the size 19” at the front and 20” at the rear.

The combination of 19” and 20” M light alloys is also optionally available for the new BMW M4 Coupé and the new BMW M4 Competition Coupé. New to the range of special equipment for all model variants are M forged light-alloy wheels in the above sizes featuring a double-spoke design and, for the first time, with a silver finish. Their brightly shining surfaces provide for a sporty, sophisticated and elegant look.

Assistance systems with a configurable range of functions.

The ongoing further development of the range of systems for automated driving and parking also contribute towards an unmistakable driving experience. In terms of functional scope and availability they set benchmarks within the competitive environment of the new BMW M4 Coupé and the new BMW M4 Convertible. Moreover, the activities of the driver assistance systems can be controlled via the M Mode button located on the centre console in order to guarantee the typically exhilarating experience of driving a high-performance sportscar. For instance, in the optionally available TRACK mode, which is designed for racetrack use, all comfort and safety systems are temporarily deactivated. 

Standard equipment for the new BMW M4 Coupé and the new BMW M4 Convertible includes Park Distance Control with sensors at the front and rear, Cruise Control with braking function, Front Collision Warning with brake intervention, Lane Departure Warning including Lane Return function with steering assistance and Traffic Sign Recognition with Speed Limit Info and No Overtaking Indicator. Optional features for the Competition models include Steering and Lane Guidance Assistant with Automatic Speed Limit Assist, Lane Keeping Assistant and Traffic Light Recognition as well as Active Cruise Control with Stop & Go function as an integral part of the Driving Assistant Professional. The Parking Assistant facilitates automatic parking (entering/leaving spaces) and also includes the Reversing Assistant as standard.

Modern design accents: New headlight design, taillights featuring laser technology.

The redesigned headlights give the front end of both the new BMW M4 Coupé and the new BMW M4 Convertible a modern look. The inside of the LED headlights, now a standard option, is even more distinctively structured. They also feature further developments in their functionality. Both the low and high beam are now produced by the same LED module. Two vertical LED units, each aligned in an arrowhead shape, assume the function of position and daytime running lights as well as direction indicators. The technology-oriented design of these new light sources provides for a sophisticated and progressive look.

Adaptive LED headlights with anti-glare matrix high beam are available as optional features. They are recognisable by the blue inserts and feature an urban light and cornering light function. Using the urban light function ensures optimised illumination of the roadside areas when travelling at low speeds on roads identified by the navigation data as built-up areas. The low beam function, however, is only activated when a speed of 22 mph has been reached. Furthermore, in conjunction with the adaptive LED headlights M Shadow Line lights featuring dark accents inside are also available. 

Moreover, the adaptive LED headlights are combined with a both visually and technologically impressive design of the LED taillights, which are available for all new versions of all models of the BMW M4 Series and feature laser technology and a fascinating light design. Inside, laser diodes produce an even illumination of glass fibre bundles, the filigree,
3-dimensional light graphics of which complement the taillight clusters. The model-specific version of this innovative light scenario utilizes a technology presented for the first time on the limited edition of the special high-performance model BMW M4 CSL, a model limited to 1,000 units.

A new design of the surrounding surface of the both the BMW logo and the M logo at the rear of the Competition models add further subtle accents for sophisticated elegance. The base of the BMW logo is now finished in High Gloss Black. The BMW M GmbH brand logo situated on the read lid has been complemented by a silver surround. 

A special feature designed exclusively for the model variants of the new BMW M4 Coupé for customisation of the external appearance are optional M design graphics for the bonnet and the rear lid. This contrasting colour emphasises the sporting characteristics of the two-door model and is available either in High Gloss Black or High Gloss Red. The optional steel roof available at no extra cost, which includes an electrically operated glass sliding roof, offers an additional design accent: The sheet metal part of the roof is finished in High Gloss Black instead of the body colour.

M-specific sportscar cockpit with new steering wheel designs and interior trims. 

The modern motor racing ambience inside the new versions of the high-performance models has also undergone further development. New steering wheel designs and control elements as well as high-class materials for the instrument panel and interior trims enhance the exclusive ambience inside the M-specific sportscar cockpits.

The standard M leather steering wheel with multifunction buttons, two M buttons and shift paddles for the Competition models now convey to the driver an even more intensive racetrack feel. The new design comprises a flattened lower section of the steering wheel rim and concisely modified spokes. A red centre marking in the 12 o’clock position underscores the sportive orientation of the steering wheel design. Moreover, for the first time, an M Alcantara steering wheel is available with the same design and range of functions. In addition, a heating function is optionally available for both steering wheel variants.

Furthermore, the M-specific cockpit arrangement also includes a control panel on the centre console, on which the shift lever or gear selector switch, the red Start/Stop button, the BMW iDrive Controller, the Setup and M Mode buttons are situated. These can be activated for individual vehicle configuration as well as for the range of functions of cockpit displays and driver assistance systems, which can be adapted to suit the driving situation at hand. 

Characteristic of M is also the combination of sporty flair and premium ambience inside the vehicle. This is, amongst other things, the result of high-quality design and finishing of the materials used for the interior. The interior trims in the area of the dashboard, the control panel and the cupholder cover now come as standard in Aluminium Rhombicle Anthracite. The optional instrument panel in the version Sensatec boasts a further refined surface structure.

The M sports seats come as standard and offer manifold electrically operated adjustment options, integrated headrests and illuminated model logos. The ideal position behind the wheel can be stored using the memory function. Heated seats for both driver and front passenger are also standard, with seat ventilation as an option. The standard leather trim Merino, the all-leather trim Merino, the extended BMW Individual leather trim Merino and the BMW Individual all-leather trim Merino are all available in four different colours.

The optional and also fully electrically adjustable and heated M Carbon bucket seats provide for an optimised connection between driver and vehicle. They combine motor racing functionality with lightweight design, cutting-edge workmanship and a high level of long-distance comfort. The use of CRP for the structural elements of the seat and backrest, as well as cut-outs within the area of the side bolsters and beneath the headrests result in a weight reduction of 9.6 kilos compared with the standard sports seats.

In addition, an Air Collar system can be ordered as an exclusive option for the BMW M4 Competition Convertible with M xDrive. It generates a three-stage adjustable airflow, providing pleasant warmth from behind to both driver and front passenger, also during open-top driving and regardless of the outside temperature.

BMW Curved Display and new BMW Operating System 8.5.

More than ever before, the new BMW M4 Coupé and the new BMW M4 Convertible combine exclusive sportscar flair with advanced digitalisation. M-specific information on the high-resolution BMW Curved Display, which is inclined towards the driver, helps the driver to focus fully on the task at hand. The fully digital display combination comprises a 12.3-inch display behind the steering wheel and a control monitor with a 14.9-inch screen diagonal.

The BMW Curved Display serves as a platform for the current BMW iDrive system used in the new BMW M4 Coupé and the new BMW M4 Convertible. The display and operating system, which also includes the BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant and is therefore actively designed for touch and voice control, is now based on the BMW Operating System 8.5. The M-specific graphics and contents on the information screen and on the control monitor have been complemented by a new form of operation for the standard automatic climate control. Temperature setting, ventilation intensity, heating of both seat and steering wheel can now, depending on how the vehicle is equipped, either be controlled per touch control via a special menu option in the lower part of the control display or by means of voice control.

Advancements in the area of digital operation come with a further reduction in the number of buttons and controls in the cockpit and a redesigned instrument panel. New control buttons for the fresh air vents in the centre of the dashboard and on the driver’s and front passenger’s side enable the setting of the desired direction of airflow by rotating and tilting. Moreover, the standard feature Ambient Lighting now also comprises contour lighting integrated into the cover of the central air vents. Like with the illumination of the footwells and the storage compartments in the area of the centre console and door openers, colour and brightness can be adapted according to individual preferences. There is a choice of nine different colours. The range of interior lighting also includes an atmospheric Welcome and Goodbye scenario as well as light signals that indicate an open door and incoming telephone calls.

The standard feature BMW Live Cockpit Professional also comprises the cloud-based navigation system BMW Maps. Another standard option is the BMW Head-up Display, which projects in an M-specific style driving-related information onto the windscreen, including multi-coloured rev range representation, shift lights and M View.

Furthermore, the standard feature BMW Live Cockpit Professional encompasses two USB ports for data transfer and a wireless network interface as well as Smartphone integration, which permits, inter alia, the use of Apple CarPlay^® and Android Auto™. In addition, telephony with wireless charging of compatible Smartphones and a hi-fi loudspeaker system with 10 sound sources and a 250 W power amplifier are all included in the standard equipment range for the new BMW M4 Coupé and the new BMW M4 Convertible.

Targeted customisation with M Carbon exterior package, M Race Track package and BMW M Performance Parts.

A model-specific M Carbon exterior package is available for precise customisation of these high-performance automobiles, bringing to the fore the racing character of both models even more intensively. The M Carbon exterior package includes inserts for the wide-open front air intakes and a rear diffuser, each featuring its own geometry, exterior mirror caps and – exclusively for the BMW M4 Coupé – a CFP rear spoiler. Vehicle weight has been reduced by up to 25 kilos thanks to the likewise optionally available M Race Track package, which also includes, in addition to M Carbon ceramic brakes, M Carbon bucket seats for both driver and front passenger as well as interior trim strips in High Gloss Carbon Fibre. 

BMW Performance Parts provide additional options for adapting the intensive driving experience and the dynamic aura of the new high-performance sportscars to suit the driver’s very own preferences. The spectrum of model-specific retrofit options encompasses exterior CFP components, M Performance forged wheels with centre lock, M Performance floor mats and M Performance steering wheel trims for individualisation of the interior.

Pour ce faire, ce système d’assistance analyse les chiffres de consommation de carburant et les compare à ceux du mois précédent et à ceux obtenus par d’autres conducteurs de la communauté possédant des motorisations comparables. Il s’appuie ensuite sur ces informations pour formuler des recommandations sur une conduite plus efficiente.

Afin de créer un concept global encore plus durable, l’utilisation de matières premières secondaires revêt une importance croissante, parallèlement à une utilisation optimisée des matériaux et à des méthodes de production optimisées en énergie. Pour la marque BMW, les deux objectifs consistant à accroître la durabilité et à atteindre des normes haut de gamme sont inextricablement liés, et non contradictoires.

En plus d’œuvrer sans relâche pour optimiser l’efficacité de ses véhicules, BMW Group s’engage à respecter l’Accord de Paris sur le climat. Il s’est également associé à la célèbre initiative Science Based Targets (SBTi) afin de mettre en place des objectifs de réduction des émissions de CO₂e pour sa chaîne d’approvisionnement, sa production et sa phase d’utilisation dans le cadre de sa volonté d’atteindre la neutralité climatique. La puissance sportive et l'élégance sont les thèmes clés reflétés avec authenticité dans le design des modèles BMW Série 4. Les modifications précises apportées à leurs éléments visuels extérieurs permettent aux nouvelles BMW Série 4 Coupé et Cabrio d'exprimer encore plus clairement leurs caractères uniques. Les fonctionnalités inédites affûtent leur profil et proposent des indications attrayantes sur leur dynamique captivante, leur exclusivité et leurs avancées technologiques.

Avec leurs lignes distinctives et leur traitement de surface épuré proposés dans le langage stylistique moderne de la marque, les coupés et cabriolets de la gamme BMW Série 4 dégagent un plaisir de conduire et un style inimitable. Les spécificités du pack M Sport en option ajoutent une touche supplémentaire à l’allure dynamique des véhicules. Elles comprennent un élément diffuseur situé dans la partie inférieure du pare-chocs arrière, qui est désormais peint en Black high-gloss. De plus, les embouts d’échappement intégrés dans la jupe arrière à gauche et à droite sont passées de 90 à 100 millimètres de diamètre. En complément du pack M Sport, les clients peuvent également commander leur voiture avec le pack extérieur M Sport Pro et M Carbon.

Nouveaux phares, feux arrière Laserlight innovants.

Les éléments stylistiques spécifiques à la BMW Série 4 incluent l’avant visuellement puissant façonné par de minces phares à LED et une calandre verticale BMW. Les prises d’air de la calandre inclinée vers l’avant présentent une structure en treillis, à la fois en version standard et avec le pack M Sport. Leur entourage est désormais en chrome mat.

Les nouvelles BMW Série 4 Coupé et Cabrio sont également pourvues de phares améliorés tant que le plan visuel que fonctionnel. Les unités LED dans leur fonctionnement interne, qui assurent l’ensemble des fonctions d'éclairage, ont été redessinées et arborent une nouvelle structure. Les feux de croisement et de route sont générés à partir d’un seul module LED. Une paire d'unités LED verticales et subtilement en forme de flèche abrite les fonctions des feux de position, des feux de jour et des clignotants. L’allure technique des nouvelles sources lumineuses confère aux phares un look haut de gamme et progressif.

Des phares à LED adaptatifs avec feux de route matriciels non éblouissants sont disponibles en option. Ils sont identifiables par des incrustations bleues et intègrent des feux urbains et une fonction d’éclairage en virage. La structure prismatique des unités LED pour les feux urbains offre un contraste saisissant par rapport à l’éclairage uniforme des unités de feux de jour.

Les phares M Shadowline avec des accents intérieurs foncés sont également proposés dans le cadre du pack M Sport Pro et si les phares adaptatifs à LED sont choisis. Si l’accès confort en option est installé, les phares génèrent une animation lumineuse d’accueil lorsque le conducteur accompagné de sa clé se trouve à moins de trois mètres de la voiture.

Les modèles BMW Série 4 Coupé et Cabrio équipés de phares adaptatifs à LED sont également dotés de feux arrière Laserlight ultra expressifs. Cette version spécifique au modèle d’un effet d’éclairage innovant utilise une technologie observée pour la première fois dans l’édition spéciale haute performance BMW M4 CSL produite en série limitée à 1 000 exemplaires. Ici, les diodes laser éclairent chacune un faisceau de fibres optiques, offrant ainsi aux unités arrière un graphisme lumineux complexe. Les lignes précises du Laserlight tridimensionnel confèrent à ces feux arrière – qui font leurs débuts dans une voiture produite en série – un design exclusif et inimitable.

Nouvelles teintes de carrosserie et jantes en alliage léger.

Les clients peuvent ajouter une touche personnelle à l'extérieur de leurs nouvelles BMW Série 4 Coupé et Cabrio en choisissant parmi deux teintes unies et huit teintes métallisées. Cape York Green metallic et Fire Red metallic viennent compléter la gamme. Une grande variété de teintes BMW Individual et de teintes spéciales BMW Individual est également proposée.

De nouveaux ajouts attrayants se trouvent également dans la sélection de jantes en alliage léger en option. Les nouvelles BMW Série 4 Coupé et Cabrio sont toutes deux proposées pour la première fois avec trois nouvelles variantes de 19 pouces. Les nouvelles jantes en alliage léger M à doubles rayons peuvent être commandées en finition Jet Black ou bicolore. Les nouvelles jantes en alliage léger BMW Individual présentent également un design à rayons en Y et une finition Midnight Grey.

Intérieur et équipement. Un style progressiste et une aura de raffinement soigneusement aiguisé.

Les sièges sport montés de série et les nouveaux volants de direction reflètent toute l'intensité de l'expérience de conduite à bord des nouvelles BMW Série 4 Coupé et Cabrio. Le grand BMW Curved Display offre une réinterprétation particulièrement moderne de l'accent placé sur le conducteur, qui fait la renommée de la marque. Des matériaux de haute qualité et minutieusement travaillés ainsi qu’un nouveau concept de fonctionnement pour les systèmes de ventilation et de climatisation renforcent l’allure haut de gamme du poste de conduite. Les modifications apportées à l'intérieur des nouvelles BMW Série 4 Coupé et Cabrio permettent aux passagers de profiter d'un plaisir de conduire avec style progressiste et confort longue distance dans une ambiance de raffinement soigneusement aiguisé.

Parmi les nouvelles fonctionnalités de pointe figure une version des surfaces de sièges disponibles en option qui fait ses débuts dans la nouvelle BMW Série 4 Coupé et est produite selon des méthodes plus durables. En outre, de nouvelles garnitures intérieures sont proposées pour le coupé et le cabriolet. La version standard inclut désormais l’éclairage d’ambiance et les rétroviseurs extérieurs rabattables électriquement. La gamme d’équipements en option a été restructurée pour permettre une personnalisation particulièrement ciblée.

Nouveaux volants avec palettes de changement de vitesse de série.

Les volants de dernière génération disponibles pour les nouvelles BMW Série 4 Coupé et Cabrio se distinguent par leur design moderne et sportif. De série, le conducteur trouvera devant lui un nouveau volant sport en cuir avec une jante polygonale et deux branches. Le pack M Sport propose désormais un volant M en cuir à trois branches avec une jante à fond plat et un marquage central discret.

Les deux versions de ce volant inédit sont dotées de boutons multifonctions éclairés et de palettes de changement de vitesse. Désormais montées de série, ces palettes permettent des interventions manuelles particulièrement rapides durant le processus de sélection des rapports et soulignent le profil sportif plus affûté des nouveaux modèles BMW Série 4.

Détails revisités sur le tableau de bord, climatisation numérique.

L’introduction du nouveau BMW iDrive avec QuickSelect améliore également l’usage des fonctions de ventilation et de climatisation des nouvelles BMW Série 4 Coupé et Cabrio. Un excellent exemple de numérisation avancée à l’œuvre qui permet de réduire encore davantage le nombre de boutons et de commandes physiques dans le poste de conduite. La sélection de la température, l'intensité de la ventilation et, si les fonctionnalités pertinentes sont commandées, le chauffage des sièges et du volant peut désormais être réglé au toucher via le BMW Curved Display ou par commande vocale à l'aide du BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant. De nouvelles commandes de réglage des grilles d’aération situées au centre du tableau de bord et sur les côtés conducteur et passager avant du poste de conduite permettent de régler le sens du flux d’air par des mouvements de rotation et d’inclinaison. La finition Sensatec en option pour le tableau de bord signifie que les clients trouveront désormais une structure de surface encore plus raffinée qui souligne davantage l’ambiance haut de gamme moderne de l’habitacle.

L’éclairage d’ambiance de série des nouvelles BMW Série 4 Coupé et Cabrio inclut désormais un éclairage de contour intégré à la garniture autour des ouïes d’aération centrales. À l’instar de l’éclairage de l’espace aux pieds, du compartiment de rangement situé dans la partie avant de la console centrale et des ouvre-portes, il peut être ajusté en fonction de la couleur et de la luminosité selon les préférences personnelles. Les utilisateurs peuvent choisir parmi neuf couleurs. La fonctionnalité de l’éclairage intérieur comprend également une animation d’accueil et d’au revoir atmosphérique et des signaux lumineux indiquant une porte ouverte ou un appel téléphonique entrant.

Première pour les housses de sièges M Performtex de la nouvelle BMW Série 4 Coupé.

Les sièges sport de série sont combinés à des surfaces intérieures en Sensatec perforé. La garniture en cuir Vernasca avec matelassage décoratif disponible en option pour les nouvelles BMW Série 4 Coupé et Cabrio est désormais également proposée dans la nouvelle variante bicolore noir/rouge. Les deux modèles peuvent également être commandés avec une garniture en cuir BMW Individual Merino en trois coloris.

Commandée avec le pack M Sport ou en version M Performance, la nouvelle BMW Série 4 Coupé est dotée de surfaces de sièges en finition noire M Performtex. Pour la première fois sur un modèle BMW, ce revêtement en velours allie une haute qualité de matériaux et un design sportif à un faible poids et une méthode de production optimisée pour la durabilité.

Nouveaux inserts de décoration, touches exclusives avec CraftedClarity.

Le choix des inserts de décoration intérieurs disponibles a lui aussi été revu en profondeur, avec une finition mate Dark Graphite de série pour les nouvelles BMW Série 4 Coupé et Cabrio. Le pack M Sport comprend des garnitures intérieures en aluminium Rhombicle Anthracite. La liste d’options inclut en outre des garnitures en bois noble Fineline Light à pores ouverts et Grey Blue Ash à pores ouverts, ainsi qu’une garniture intérieure M en fibre de carbone.

L’utilisation de matériaux de qualité supérieure permet également d’inclure des touches distinctives dans d’autres zones de l’habitacle afin de renforcer son caractère haut de gamme moderne. Des applications électroplaquées pour le panneau de commande des portes, qui comprend les commandes des vitres et l'interrupteur de verrouillage, sont disponibles pour les nouvelles BMW Série 4 Coupé et Cabrio. Les clients peuvent également commander des applications en verre CraftedClarity – un autre ajout à la liste d’options. Celles-ci confèrent au levier sélecteur de vitesses, au contrôleur BMW iDrive et au bouton Start/Stop un air d’exclusivité particulier, tant sur le plan visuel que tactile.

La gamme de groupes motopropulseurs de la nouvelle gamme BMW Série 4 comprend des moteurs essence et diesel puissants et très efficaces dotés de la technologie BMW TwinPower Turbo et de l’électrification sous la forme d’une technologie hybride légère 48 V. Toutes les unités d’entraînement offrent un mélange exceptionnel de plaisir de conduire sportif et d’économie de carburant, toutes faisant partie de la génération modulaire actuelle de moteurs Efficient Dynamics et étant associées de série à une boîte de vitesses sport Steptronic à huit rapports. Les palettes de changement de vitesse au volant, qui équipent également de série les nouvelles BMW Série 4 Coupé et Cabrio, permettent des interventions manuelles rapides dans le processus de sélection des rapports, ajoutant ainsi à l'expérience de conduite dynamique.

Les moteurs six cylindres en ligne s’invitent sous le capot des versions M Performance des deux séries de modèles (voir chapitre séparé), ainsi que des nouvelles BMW 430d xDrive Coupé et BMW 430d Cabrio, dont le moteur diesel développe une puissance de 210 kW/286 ch. La gamme comprend également deux moteurs essence quatre cylindres développant respectivement 135 kW/184 ch et 180 kW/245 ch et un quatre cylindres diesel de 140 kW/190 ch. La puissance du moteur est transmise à la route via une propulsion classique ou le système de transmission intégrale intelligente BMW xDrive, selon la variante du modèle.

La technologie Mild hybrid optimise la puissance et l’efficacité.

Tous les moteurs six cylindres en ligne disponibles pour les nouvelles BMW Série 4 Coupé et Cabrio, ainsi que le moteur diesel quatre cylindres, intègrent la technologie hybride légère 48 V pour une puissance et une efficacité accrues. L’entraînement électrique auxiliaire se présente sous la forme d’un générateur-démarreur 48 V et permet une puissance instantanée de 8 kW/11 ch en réponse au moindre mouvement de l’accélérateur. Ce coup de pouce électrique améliore la réponse dynamique du système d’entraînement lors des accélérations en départ arrêté et à mi-régime. L’unité d’entraînement électrique assiste également le moteur à vitesse constante, ce qui lui permet de fonctionner le plus souvent possible dans une plage de charge optimisée en termes d’efficacité.

Le système hybride léger permet en outre d’utiliser l’énergie électrique récupérée via le Brake Energy Regeneration et stockée dans une batterie de 48 V. L'énergie ainsi récupérée efficacement n'est pas seulement utilisée pour l'entraînement électrique auxiliaire, mais est également transmise au système électrique 12 V à l'aide d'un transformateur de tension. Le résultat : une utilisation encore plus efficace des consommateurs électriques du véhicule.

Une technologie de châssis sur mesure pour une expérience de conduite sportive.

Une excellente rigidité de la carrosserie, un design léger intelligent, une répartition du poids 50: 50 et des propriétés aérodynamiques optimisées constituent une base idéale pour doter les nouvelles BMW Série 4 Coupé et Cabrio de capacités de maniabilité remarquablement agiles et dynamiques. Ceci est encore facilité grâce à une technologie de châssis sophistiquée qui a été réglée précisément pour la répartition du poids disponible.

Les amortisseurs en détente peaufinent l’équilibre entre des prouesses sportives captivantes et un confort hors pair sur les longues distances. Différentes options sont disponibles pour personnaliser le caractère de la voiture, notamment la suspension M Sport, la suspension M adaptative avec direction sport variable et les freins M Sport.

Grande variété de systèmes de conduite et de stationnement automatisés.

La gamme de systèmes de conduite et de stationnement automatisés est tout aussi étendue. Les nouvelles BMW Série 4 Coupé et Cabrio sont équipées de série du système d’alerte de collision avant avec intervention sur les freins, du régulateur de vitesse avec fonction de freinage, du Speed Limit Info avec indicateur d’interdiction de dépassement, du Speed Limit Assist manuel et du Lane Departure Warning avec retour dans la voie. En option, le pack Driving Assistant Professional comprend l’assistant de direction et de guidage de voie, le régulateur de vitesse actif avec fonction Stop&Go, le Speed Limit Assist automatique, le contrôle de la vitesse et la reconnaissance des feux de circulation.

Le Park Distance Control avec capteurs à l’avant et à l’arrière fait également partie de la spécification standard. Le Park Assistant, de série également, permet des manœuvres automatisées pour entrer et sortir des places de stationnement, ainsi qu’une caméra d’aide à la marche arrière et le Reversing Assistant. Le Park Assistant Plus est disponible en option avec les fonctions Park View, Panorama View et Remote 3D View.

Les modèles M Performance de la nouvelle gamme BMW Série 4. Des caractères distinctifs haut de gamme.

La nouvelle gamme BMW Série 4 Coupé et Cabrio est dirigée par des modèles sportifs d'élite coulés dans le moule M familier. Les voitures hautes performances de BMW M GmbH mettent en valeur le potentiel dynamique intégré aux concepts de véhicules de la gamme BMW Série 4 de façon résolument impressionnante. Elles sortent du lot grâce à des moteurs six cylindres en ligne extrêmement puissants, une configuration de châssis sur mesure et des éléments de design M caractéristiques à l’intérieur et à l’extérieur.

Les modèles M Performance de la BMW Série 4 sont disponibles avec des moteurs essence et diesel, chacun d’une cylindrée de 3,0 litres. Les attributs de performance typiques de la gamme M de ces six cylindres en ligne sont soutenus, entre autres, par la dernière technologie M TwinPower Turbo, qui est adaptée individuellement au moteur utilisé. Autre point commun, la technologie mild hybrid 48 V, dont la puissance de 8 kW/11 ch produit un effet boost électrique qui confère aux moteurs une réponse encore plus vive.

Le moteur essence six cylindres en ligne des modèles BMW M440i xDrive Coupé et BMW M440i xDrive Cabrio développe une puissance maximale de 275 kW/374 ch et un couple maximal de 500 Nm (369 lb-pi). Les modèles BMW M440d xDrive Coupé et BMW M440d xDrive Cabrio, quant à eux, sont propulsés par un moteur diesel six cylindres en ligne qui génère une puissance maximale de 250 kW/340 ch et un couple maximal de 700 Nm (516 lb-pi). La suspension M Sport avec direction sport variable figure sur la liste des équipements de série des modèles haut de gamme, ainsi qu’une boîte de vitesses Steptronic Sport à huit rapports avec une action de changement de vitesse ultra-précise, les freins M Sport et le différentiel M Sport.

Nouvelle calandre BMW, embouts d'échappement noirs de série.

Un éventail de détails de design triés sur le volet annonce encore plus clairement le caractère dynamique des modèles M Performance. Par exemple, la nouvelle édition de ces modèles comprend une calandre BMW avec un contour en Black high-gloss et des barres horizontales ornées d'un logo M. Tous les éléments de la jupe avant affichant auparavant une finition en Cerium Grey sont désormais disponibles en Black high-gloss. Ainsi, l’allure des modèles, vue de face, rappelle encore plus le design des voitures de sport hautes performances BMW M4.

À l’arrière des modèles M Performance, un embout d’échappement trapézoïdal signale la présence du groupe motopropulseur ultra-puissant sous le capot. Ces embouts sont désormais en Black High-gloss de série, ce qui signifie que tous les éléments de la finition M High-gloss Shadowline en option sont déjà inclus dans la spécification de série de ces modèles.

Touches exclusives : coques de rétroviseurs extérieurs M, diffuseur en fibre de carbone.

Un autre élément de design de la gamme BMW M4 a été intégré dans les flancs des tout derniers modèles M Performance de la BMW Série 4, avec des rétroviseurs extérieurs M en design à double tige inclus de série.

Le pack extérieur M Carbon en option comprend des coques de rétroviseurs extérieurs et des inserts pour les prises d’air extérieures en plastique renforcé de fibres de carbone (PRFC). La nouvelle BMW Série 4 Coupé arbore également un becquet arrière Gurney en fibre de carbone. Cette option ajoute également un diffuseur en fibre de carbone dans la partie inférieure de la jupe arrière, exclusif aux modèles M Performance.

Ambiance sportive renforcée dans l’habitacle.

Des sièges sport dotés de la nouvelle sellerie M Performtex pour les modèles Coupé et de cuir Vernasca pour le Cabrio, des éléments de garniture intérieure en Aluminium Rhombicle Anthracite, une garniture de seuil de porte M, des pédales M, un repose-pied conducteur M et des éléments graphiques spécifiques M pour le BMW Curved Display caractérisent l’aura distinctive des modèles M Performance. Les sièges M Sport en cuir Vernasca peuvent être commandés en option pour les versions haut de gamme de la nouvelle BMW Série 4 Coupé et sont disponibles dans un choix de coloris Black avec matelassage contrasté bleu ou dans la nouvelle finition bicolore Black/Coral Red.

Une nouvelle version du volant M en cuir renforce la sensation de voiture de sport à l’intérieur des modèles phares. Sa jante à fond plat, son repère central rouge et ses surpiqûres contrastantes aux couleurs de BMW M GmbH contribuent à rendre l'expérience de conduite encore plus attrayante à bord des modèles M Performance de la nouvelle gamme BMW Série 4.

Système d’affichage et de commande/fonctionnement, connectivité. Le nouveau système d'exploitation BMW 8.5 et des services numériques innovants.

Les progrès réalisés en matière de numérisation dans la dernière édition de la BMW Série 4 sont également évidents. Ceci est principalement dû au système d'affichage et de commande BMW iDrive mis à niveau avec QuickSelect basé sur le système d'exploitation BMW 8.5. Afin de fournir un contrôle intuitif et facile de nombreuses fonctions ainsi que
l’accès à des services numériques innovants, le système BMW iDrive de dernière génération équipant les nouvelles BMW Série 4 Coupé et Cabrio est doté d’un écran d’accueil repensé et d’une technologie d’accès rapide QuickSelect, offrant ainsi une structure de menu améliorée qui s’inspire des appareils électroniques grand public.

Le BMW iDrive amélioré avec QuickSelect est combiné au BMW Curved Display et au BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant, ce qui signifie qu’il a été soigneusement conçu pour fonctionner à l’aide de l’écran tactile et du langage naturel. Le système de commande/fonctionnement des nouvelles BMW Série 4 Coupé et Cabrio inclut en outre des boutons multifonctions sur le volant et, en option, l'affichage tête haute BMW. En affichant les bonnes informations au bon endroit, le nouveau BMW iDrive contribue à offrir une expérience de conduite ciblée et assurée.

BMW iDrive avec QuickSelect : des fonctions affichées sur un seul niveau et sélectionnables grâce à la technologie d'accès rapide.

L'écran d'accueil du nouveau système d'exploitation BMW 8.5 affiche en permanence la vue cartographique du système de navigation ou d'autres graphiques configurables individuellement sur l'écran de commande. De même, des widgets sont disposés verticalement du côté conducteur de l’écran. Le conducteur peut passer d’un widget à l’autre d’un simple mouvement du doigt. La fonctionnalité QuickSelect permet d’activer directement la fonction ainsi sélectionnée sans avoir à entrer dans un sous-menu. Et une fois les paramètres pertinents choisis, il suffit d'appuyer rapidement sur l'icône d'accueil située sur le bord inférieur de l'écran de contrôle pour revenir à l'écran d'accueil. Des icônes offrant un accès direct au menu de climatisation, au menu Toutes les applications et, si elles sont activées, à Apple CarPlay^® et Android Auto™ se situent également à côté de l’icône d’accueil.

La nouvelle structure de menu plate facilite grandement l’activation des fonctions et paramètres souhaités. Le contenu numérique , tout comme le matériel, sous la forme du BMW Curved Display , est conçu pour renforcer l’attention du conducteur, une caractéristique qui fait la renommée de BMW.

Système de navigation BMW Maps avec Augmented View.

Le système de navigation BMW Maps basé sur le cloud fait partie du BMW Live Cockpit Plus de série. Suite à l’introduction du système d’exploitation BMW 8.5 dans les nouvelles BMW Série 4 Coupé et Cabrio, il facilite désormais la saisie des destinations et est en mesure d’offrir des informations supplémentaires pendant la conduite.

Autre nouveauté : la fonction Augmented View qui, comme l’affichage tête haute BMW, est disponible en commandant le BMW Live Cockpit Professional en option. Elle complète l’affichage cartographique du système de navigation en diffusant un flux vidéo en direct du point de vue du conducteur sur l’écran de contrôle ou le combiné d’instruments et en l’enrichissant de conseils et d’informations adaptés au contexte. Dans les croisements complexes, par exemple, une flèche directionnelle animée est intégrée à l'image vidéo pour aider le conducteur à prendre la meilleure sortie pour l'itinéraire prévu. La fonction Augmented View peut également venir en aide au conducteur lors de la recherche d’une place de stationnement en affichant des informations supplémentaires.

Personnalisation à l’aide du BMW ID et de l’application My BMW.

Les conducteurs des nouvelles BMW Série 4 Coupé et Cabrio trouveront également plus facile d'utiliser leur BMW ID pour personnaliser l'expérience utilisateur. À l’avenir, il suffira de se connecter au véhicule à l’aide d’un smartphone pour scanner un code QR afin d’importer le profil personnel du client, de charger les paramètres synchronisables et de lier automatiquement la clé détectée dans le véhicule au BMW ID.

Le véhicule est également ajouté à l’application My BMW sans que le client ait à faire quoi que ce soit. Disponible gratuitement dans les App Stores pour iOS et Android, l’application My BMW fait office d’interface numérique universelle qui fournit à tout moment des informations sur l’état du véhicule, par exemple sur son autonomie restante et sur les besoins d’entretien et de maintenance. Selon les spécifications du véhicule, elle permet également de commander à distance des fonctions telles que la localisation du véhicule, le verrouillage et le déverrouillage des portes ou la surveillance de l’environnement immédiat et de l’intérieur du véhicule avec Remote View. L’application My BMW peut également être utilisée pour envoyer des adresses de destination depuis un smartphone vers le système de navigation du véhicule. La fonction Mes trajets, avec Efficiency Trainer et un bilan mensuel, fournit à l’utilisateur des données et des évaluations des distances parcourues, de la consommation de carburant et de la vitesse moyenne.

Connectivité optimale avec eSIM personnelle et norme mobile 5G.

Les clients des nouvelles BMW Série 4 Coupé et Cabriol peuvent activer l’eSIM personnelle de série, en plus de la carte SIM mobile intégrée au véhicule. Elle permet au véhicule d’utiliser la norme de communications mobiles 5G. L’eSIM personnelle permet au client d’utiliser facilement les fonctions de communication et de connectivité couvertes par son contrat mobile depuis sa voiture, même dans des situations où il n’a pas son smartphone. Cela inclut également le streaming de données via le hotspot WiFi.

Une connexion à faible rayonnement à l’antenne extérieure du véhicule sert à passer des appels téléphoniques et diffuser des données via l’eSIM personnelle. Toutes les fonctions du téléphone peuvent être utilisées avec le système BMW iDrive ou le BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant. L’eSIM personnelle peut être utilisée dans tous les pays où les services BMW Connected Drive sont disponibles. Elle étend le contrat de téléphonie mobile existant du client, ce qui peut entraîner des coûts supplémentaires.

Les frais de stationnement et les factures de carburant peuvent être payés directement depuis le véhicule.

Dans de nombreux pays européens, le BMW ID permet aux conducteurs des nouvelles BMW Série 4 Coupé et Cabrio de régler des frais de stationnement directement depuis leur véhicule. Le véhicule détecte automatiquement si le service est disponible à l’arrivée dans une zone de stationnement et affiche la fonction de paiement si cette dernière est couverte par l’un des prestataires associés. La réservation de stationnement peut être payée rapidement et simplement à l'aide de la carte de crédit enregistrée dans l’application My BMW. La réservation prend automatiquement fin lorsque le véhicule quitte à nouveau la place de stationnement.

Les conducteurs en Allemagne ont également la possibilité de régler numériquement leurs factures de carburant après avoir fait le plein dans les stations-service partenaires. Comme pour le service de paiement des frais de stationnement, cela s’effectue à l’aide des informations de carte de crédit enregistrées dans les applications du véhicule.

Plus que jamais, la combinaison inimitable du plaisir de conduire et du design élégant et sportif présenté par les nouveaux modèles BMW Série 4 les différencie du segment haut de gamme des moyennes. Le concept de véhicule qui se cache derrière les nouvelles BMW Série 4 Coupé et Cabrio offre un potentiel extraordinaire pour délivrer des caractéristiques de conduite supérieures. Aujourd’hui, les toutes dernières améliorations extérieures et intérieures sont disponibles pour mettre en valeur leur caractère dynamique avec encore plus d’intensité. Outre le pack M Sport, le pack M Sport Pro et le pack extérieur M Carbon proposés en option d’usine, les éléments inclus dans la gamme de composants BMW M Performance offrent une possibilité supplémentaire d’affiner le profil des nouvelles BMW Série 4 Coupé et Cabrio dans les moindres détails.

Grâce à un design exclusif, des matériaux haut de gamme et une qualité exceptionnelle, ces éléments destinés à l’extérieur, au châssis et au poste de conduite vont encore plus loin pour transmettre les sensations du circuit de course à la route.

Parmi les accessoires disponibles pour insuffler aux voitures un look inspiré de la course, citons la calandre ornementale avant M Performance et la partie de fixation de bas de caisse M Performance, toutes deux en fibre de carbone. Les jantes en alliage léger disponibles pour les nouvelles BMW Série 4 Coupé et renforcent également leur exclusivité visuelle et peuvent être commandées en 18 ou 19 pouces. Des jantes forgées M Performance de 20 pouces sont également proposées. Avec leur construction allégée et leur montage avec des pneus mixte/sport pour un transfert optimisé des forces de virage, elles améliorent également les performances dynamiques des voitures. La nouvelle édition de la BMW M8, disponible en trois versions de carrosserie, est particulièrement populaire grâce aux ajouts à la gamme de teintes extérieures et aux jantes en alliage M. D’autres possibilités de personnalisation de l’apparence sont offertes par les phares M Shadow Line, disponibles pour la première fois sur les luxueuses voitures de sport hautes performances. La BMW M8 Competition Coupé, la BMW M8 Competition Cabrio et la BMW M8 Competition Gran Coupé occupent ensemble la première place dans la gamme de modèles BMW M GmbH, qui est très présente sur le segment du luxe avec cette série de modèles. Leur principale caractéristique commune est la technologie de la transmission et du châssis, conçue pour offrir une expérience de conduite extrêmement riche en émotions. La puissance requise pour offrir des performances exceptionnelles est fournie par un moteur V8 doté de la technologie M TwinPower Turbo, qui mobilise une puissance maximale de 460 kW/625 ch et un couple maximal de 750 Nm. Grâce à son caractère M haute vitesse caractéristique, le moteur développe un couple d’entraînement élevé sur de larges plages de charge, qui est idéalement placé sur la route via une boîte de vitesses M Steptronic à 8 rapports avec Drivelogic et le système de transmission intégrale M xDrive. Leur coordination précise permet des manœuvres de conduite sportive exaltantes, telles que l’accélération de 0 à 100 km/h en seulement 3,2 secondes (BMW M8 Competition Coupé et BMW M8 Competition Gran Coupé) ou 3,3 secondes (BMW M8 Competition Cabrio).

La nouvelle gamme comprend les teintes extérieures Skyscraper grey metallic, Brooklyn grey metallic et Isle of Man green metallic, ainsi que la laque BMW Individual tansanite blue metallic. Le design sombre des inserts et des éléments chromés à l’intérieur des phares, combiné au cadre noir brillant de série des naseaux BMW, contribue à donner un look particulièrement saisissant et sportif à l’avant du véhicule.

Nouvelles jantes BMW M en alliage léger 20 pouces à rayons en étoile.

La technologie de châssis des nouveaux modèles BMW M8 comprend des amortisseurs à commande électronique et un système de direction électromécanique M Servotronic, ainsi qu’un système de freinage intégré permettant d’afficher deux caractéristiques de pédale. Cela permet au pilote de choisir entre une sensation de confort et une sensation sportive directe sur les pédales. En alternative au système de freinage M Compound de série, un frein M en carbone-céramique est disponible en option.

Le système DSC (Dynamic Stability Control) permet au conducteur d’activer le mode M Dynamic, qui permet un meilleur patinage des roues. En combinaison avec la conception des roues arrière motrices du M xDrive, des manœuvres de conduite particulièrement sportives, y compris des drifts contrôlés, peuvent être expérimentées. L’équipement de série comprend également des jantes BMW M en alliage léger de 20 pouces équipées de pneus hautes performances de dimensions 275/35 R 20 à l’avant et 285/35 R 20 à l’arrière. D’autres jantes BMW M en alliage léger du même format sont disponibles en équipement spécial, dont une nouvelle variante à rayons en étoile et une version bicolore noir/gris.

Sièges sport M et sièges baquets M en cuir/Alcantara.

L’intérieur des nouveaux modèles BMW M8 combine un design typique des habitacles M avec un luxe moderne. L’affichage tête haute BMW de série offre des affichages spécifiques au modèle M. Le bouton Setup de la console centrale permet d’accéder directement aux réglages du moteur, de l’amortisseur, de la direction, du système M xDrive et du système de freinage. Il est possible d’enregistrer de façon permanente deux variantes de la configuration M créée individuellement, ainsi que les réglages préférés pour le son de conduite, la caractéristique de changement de vitesse, le contrôle de stabilité de conduite et la fonction Auto Start Stop. Il est possible d’y accéder en appuyant sur l’un des deux boutons M du volant. En outre, le bouton M Mode de la console centrale permet de commander les systèmes d’aide à la conduite, ainsi que les affichages du combiné d’instruments et de l’affichage tête haute. Vous pouvez sélectionner les réglages ROAD, SPORT et TRACK.

Les sièges sport M de série renforcent également l’expérience de conduite intensive à bord de la voiture de sport haute performance. Les sièges baquets M Carbon disponibles en option créent une sensation de course pure pour le conducteur et le passager. Avec leur design à la structure basée sur des surfaces en plastique renforcé de fibres de carbone (PRFC) visibles, des appuie-têtes intégrés, des ouvertures dans les dossiers et les flancs et des guides pour les ceintures de sécurité multipoints, ils combinent la fonctionnalité de course avec le confort sur de longues distances et une finition luxueuse. Ils sont chauffés et offrent également des options de réglage électrique, un lettrage « M8 » éclairé sur les appuie-têtes et une fonction de mémoire côté conducteur.

En combinaison avec les sièges sport M et les sièges baquets M Carbon, une garniture en cuir Merino/Alcantara est montée de série à bord des nouvelles BMW M8. Elle est désormais disponible pour la première fois dans la combinaison de couleurs Black/Sakhir Orange. En outre, les dimensions en noir Alcantara de toutes les versions de cet équipement sont désormais étendues au tableau de bord et aux zones supérieures des seuils de porte.

Munich. The sales launch of the BMW iX and the BMW i4 in November 2021 marks the beginning of a new era of purely electric premium mobility. In addition to sustainable driving pleasure, the two new models also offer the latest innovations in the field of driver assistance systems and, with the new generation of the BMW iDrive operating system, represent the future of intuitive interaction between driver and vehicle. Parallel to this, the BMW model range will also undergo targeted further development in autumn 2021. Additional drive variants and innovations in the areas of design and digital services increase the diversity and attractiveness of the current range.

The model range of the new BMW 4 Series Convertible will be expanded by three new drive variants from November 2021. In future, an 8-speed Steptronic transmission will be standard equipment for one additional model variant each of the BMW X1 and the BMW X2. New paint finishes are available for the BMW 1 Series, BMW 2 Series Gran Coupé, BMW X2, BMW X3 and BMW X4 models. The functional scope of the My BMW App is complemented by further digital services. The BMW i brand is not only setting trends with its two new models. The pioneer of all-electric premium mobility, the BMW i3, will be offered in a limited Unique Forever Edition from November 2021. And in the BMW iX3, a predictive battery heat management system will optimise the way in which DC fast charging stations will be used in the future.

BMW 4 Series Convertible: Two additional BMW M automobiles and a further all-wheel drive model.
The combination of sporty performance and open-air pleasure in a BMW 4 Series model will be enriched even further in autumn 2021. In the new BMW M 440i Convertible (combined fuel consumption: 8.3 – 7.7 l/100 km according to WLTP; combined CO₂ emissions: 190 - 175 g/km according to WLTP), a 275 kW/374 hp inline 6-cylinder petrol engine with 48-volt mild hybrid technology ensures particularly purist driving pleasure by transferring its power to the rear wheels. An 8-speed Steptronic sports transmission and an M sports differential in the final drive also contribute to the thrilling driving dynamics as standard. This is reflected, among other things, by accerlation from 0 - 100 km/h from standstill in 5.2 seconds.

An inline 6-cylinder diesel engine and the intelligent BMW xDrive all-wheel drive system make the second new BMW M automobile a thrilling open-top drive. With a peak output of 250 kW/340 hp, a maximum torque of 700 Nm and 48-volt mild hybrid technology, the new BMW M440d xDrive Convertible (combined fuel consumption: 6.6 – 6.0 l/100 km according to WLTP; combined CO₂ emissions: 172 - 157 g/km according to WLTP) has impressive pulling power. 5.0 seconds are sufficient for the sprint from 0 to 100 km/h. An 8-speed Steptronic sports transmission and an M sports differential are also standard equipment in this model variant.

In addition, the model range for the open-top four-seater in the premium mid-size segment is expanded to include the new BMW 430i xDrive Convertible (combined fuel consumption: 8.1 – 7.3 l/100 km according to WLTP; combined CO₂ emissions: 183 - 166 g/km according to WLTP). With its 180 kW/245 hp 4-cylinder petrol engine, an 8-speed Steptronic transmission and intelligent all-wheel drive, it accelerates from zero to 100 km/h in 6.3 seconds. The 8-speed Steptronic sports transmission and the M sports differential are optionally available for this model.

BMW X1 xDrive18d and BMW X2 xDrive18d now feature 8-speed Steptronic transmission as standard.
Driving pleasure and comfort will be enhanced in autumn 2021 as the 8-speed Steptronic transmission is included in further model variants of the BMW X1 and BMW X2 as standard. The fast and efficient automatic transmission is characterised by a high level of shifting comfort and a particularly favourable internal efficiency. In future, it will also be available as standard with the 110 kW/150 hp 4-cylinder diesel engine of the BMW X1 xDrive18d models (combined fuel consumption: 6.1 – 5.4 l/100 km according to WLTP; combined CO₂ emissions: 159 – 142 g/km according to WLTP) and the BMW X2 xDrive18d (combined fuel consumption: 6.1 – 5.4 l/100 km according to WLTP; combined CO₂ emissions: 160 - 142 g/km according to WLTP).

With the new drive combination, both models accelerate from zero to 100 km/h in 9.4 seconds. An optional 8-speed Steptronic sports transmission is also available, operated by paddle shifts on the steering wheel.

New paint finishes for numerous model series.
New paint finishes for numerous current BMW models allow for additional customisation opportunities. The Skyscraper Grey metallic variant will be available for the BMW 1 Series, the BMW X2 and the BMW X3 from November 2021. Also new to the range are the BMW Individual paint finishes Frozen Pure Grey metallic for the BMW 1 Series and the BMW 2 Series Gran Coupé, as well as Aventurine Red metallic for the BMW X3 and the BMW X4.

My BMW App with extended range of functions.
Planning travel routes and transferring them to the car, receiving information about the car’ status and live images from its surroundings, arranging service appointments or receiving news from the brand - the My BMW app makes all this possible on the customer's smartphone. It serves as a universal interface for communication between car and customer, the BMW brand and the BMW dealer. The range of functions of the My BMW App will be expanded again in autumn 2021. In future, for example, the images transmitted by the Remote 3D View service will be stored in a gallery, including information about the location and time of the shots. The status of the vehicle's air conditioning and ventilation is now also clearly displayed in the My BMW app.

In addition, the My BMW app now also provides drivers with comprehensive information on the condition of the vehicle's tyres on their smartphone. This new feature helps to minimise the risk of breakdowns and is available for the BMW 1 Series, BMW 3 Series and BMW 4 Series models, the new BMW 2 Series Coupé, the BMW 2 Series Gran Coupé, the BMW Z4 as well as the BMW X5, BMW X6 and BMW X7. The My BMW app displays the wheel-specific values as measured by the tyre pressure system. In addition, the digital tyre diagnosis, which is unique in the competitive environment, can also transmit information about a defect or wear of the tyres via the My BMW app. In the BMW backend, the data from the tyre pressure control system is processed together with the values for temperature and wheel speeds to create a forecast of the remaining life of the tyres. As a supplement to tyre pressure control, indications of tyre damage are also registered.

Intelligent battery heat management for the BMW iX3.
To ensure the fastest and most efficient power feed at DC fast-charging stations, regardless of operating and outside temperatures, the BMW iX3 (combined power consumption: 19.0 - 18.6 L/100 km according to WLTP, 18.5 - 18.9 L/100 km according to NEDC) will be equipped with intelligent thermal management for the high-voltage battery as in the BMW i4 / BMW iX from November 2021. As soon as the active route guidance of the navigation system foresees a stopover at a High Power Charging Station, it already ensures that the battery is automatically preconditioned before arrival.

The appropriate heating or cooling ensures that the high-voltage battery is at the ideal temperature for charging at maximum power on arrival. The thermal management takes into account, among other things, the battery temperature, the remaining range, the predicted charging power and the planned scope of the charging process as part of the overall route calculation.

BMW i3 and BMW i3s in the Unique Forever Edition.
From November 2021, the BMW i3 models (combined electricity consumption: 16.3 - 15.3 L/100 km according to WLTP, 13.1 L/100 km according to NEDC and BMW i3s (combined electricity consumption: 16.6 - 16.3 L/100 km according to WLTP, 14.6 - 14.0 L/100 km according to NEDC) in the Unique Forever Edition. The naming of the new special edition refers to the unique character of the world's first premium automobile designed from the outset for purely electric mobility. The BMW i3 represents a holistic understanding of sustainability not only with its drive system, but also with its particularly lightweight passenger cell made of carbon fibre-reinforced plastic (CFRP) and extensive use of natural and recycled materials in its interior. Eight years after being launched on the market, it is still a globally recognised symbol of locally emission-free urban mobility.

The edition vehicles are characterised by particularly high-grade and exclusive design and equipment features. The two BMW Individual paint finishes, available for the first time for the BMW i3, ensure a stylish appearance. The Aventurine Red metallic variant is combined with an accent in Frozen Grey metallic and the Storm Bay metallic paint finish with an accent in Frozen E-Copper. The interior surfaces of the BMW grille are also finished in the respective accent colour. Other special features include the omission of the trim strip and model lettering on the luggage compartment lid and a black insert for the rear bumper. In the interior of the edition vehicles, the contents of the Suite equipment world - including the Vernasca Dark Truffle leather combination, the leather instrument panel, the fine wood surface in dark matt oak, the leather steering wheel, the Carum grey roof lining and the ambient lighting - are supplemented by specific design elements. The front headrests are embroidered with the words "Unique Forever", the door trim panels in the area of the exterior mirrors bear the inscription "One of 2,000“.

The Unique Forever Edition models are produced in a limited edition of 2,000 units at the BMW plant in Leipzig. Only electricity generated by the wind turbines on the factory premises is used.

A design conceived in the brand’s current styling language that radiates sporting elegance, a new type of roof design and performance that has stepped up significantly compared to its predecessor make the latest generation of the open-top four-seater a highly compelling proposition. The design, vehicle concept and driving dynamics provide greater differentiation from the BMW 3 Series Sedan than at any time in the 35 years that BMW convertibles have graced the midsize class. Worldwide launch will commence in March 2021.
• The range now peaks with an extremely sporty BMW M440i xDrive Convertible flagship model (fuel consumption combined:
  7.4 – 6.9 l/100 km [38.2 – 40.9 mpg imp]; CO₂ emissions combined:169 – 159 g/km) powered by a 275 kW/374 hp six-cylinder in-line petrol engine. • Standalone body design has dynamically stretched proportions and a low-to-the-road silhouette. Expressive front end brings together tradition-rich and modern styling features. Prominent, upright BMW kidney grille references legendary sports cars from the brand’s past and signals the high cooling air requirement of the powertrain technology. Extremely slim LED headlights are standard, BMW Laserlight optional.
• Newly developed panel bow softtop roof marries the strengths of a retractable hardtop and the puristic appeal of a fabric hood, thereby combining the best of both worlds. Its sleek surface gracefully arches over the passenger cell of the new BMW 4 Series Convertible. Roof is 40 per cent lighter than the predecessor car’s, acoustic and thermal comfort are far superior to those of a conventional design. Softtop comes in Black as standard and Anthracite Silver effect as an option.
• Significantly enhanced performance capabilities resulting from an extremely stiff body structure with reinforced side skirts, additional convertible-specific bracing and a new aluminium shear panel in the front end. Munich. Increased efficiency through consistent electrification, optimised emissions and innovations in the areas of driver assistance and digital services are the focus of the model revision measures for numerous BMW model series that will take effect in autumn 2020. From November 2020, all models of the premium brand will meet the requirements of the currently strictest exhaust emission standard Euro 6d. In the BMW 5 Series, the range of plug-in hybrid models has been extended by three new variants. New inline 6-cylinder diesel engines and 48-volt mild hybrid technology lower fuel consumption and emissions of selected models in the BMW 3 Series and BMW 8 Series. In addition, further engines will supplement the drive portfolio of the BMW 1 Series and the BMW 2 Series Gran Coupé.

Efficiency becomes more diverse: World premiere for five plug-in hybrid models in the BMW 5 Series.
The range of BMW models with electrified drive systems will also be consistently expanded in autumn 2020. The expanded range of the following electrified models is especially attractive: BMW 545e xDrive Sedan (fuel consumption combined: 2.3 – 2.2 l/100 km; combined power consumption: 16.3 – 15.8 kWh/100 km; combined CO₂ emissions: 53 – 49 g/km; electric range: 47 – 57 km), BMW 530e Touring (combined fuel consumption: 2.0 – 1.8 l/100 km; combined power consumption: 16.1 – 15.4 kWh/100 km; combined CO₂ emissions: 46 – 42 g/km; electric range: 52 – 57 km (WLTP)) and BMW 530e xDrive Touring (combined fuel consumption: 2.4 – 2.2 l/100 km; combined power consumption: 16.7 – 16.1 kWh/100 km; combined CO₂ emissions: 54 – 50 g/km; electric range: 48 – 53 km (WLTP)). The BMW 5 Series model range now already includes five plug-in hybrid variants. In the upper mid-size class, BMW offers the largest selection of models with electrified drive.

In the new BMW 545e xDrive Sedan, an inline 6-cylinder petrol engine and an electric drive integrated into the 8-speed Steptronic transmission deliver impressive driving dynamics in a particularly efficient manner. The power of the two drive units adds up to a maximum system output of 290 kW/394 hp and is distributed between the front and rear wheels as required by the intelligent BMW xDrive all-wheel drive. The brand’s hallmark combination of energy efficiency and sportiness also characterises the new Touring models, whose plug-in hybrid system consists of a 4-cylinder petrol engine and an electric drive system also integrated into the 8-speed Steptronic transmission. Together they generate a system output of up to 215 kW/292 hp in the XtraBoost mode when load requirements are particularly high.

Increased dynamic performance and reduced fuel consumption: New inline 6-cylinder diesel engines with 48-volt mild hybrid technology in the BMW 3 Series and BMW 8 Series.
With the introduction of 48-volt mild hybrid technology in additional models, BMW continues to consistently reduce fuel consumption and emissions in its current vehicle fleet. This is linked to the introduction of a new generation of inline 6-cylinder diesel engines. As of autumn 2020, four mid-size models of the BMW 3 Series and three luxury sports cars of the BMW 8 Series will offer noticeably more dynamic performance and increased efficiency.

This twofold and BMW typical progress is achieved through further advanced BMW TwinPower Turbo technology and additionally with the aid of a particularly powerful starter generator and an additional battery. The dynamic power delivery when starting off and accelerating is enhanced by the additional power of 8 kW/11 hp spontaneously provided by the 48-volt starter generator. In other load ranges the electric drive can relieve the combustion engine and thus increase its efficiency. The power required for this is generated by intensive recuperation in braking and thrust phases and stored in a 48-volt battery, which also supplies the vehicle’s electrical system.

The 48-volt mild hybrid technology will be used in four further BMW 3 Series models from November 2020. In the new BMW 330d Sedan (combined fuel consumption: 4.7 – 4.4 l/100 km*; combined CO₂ emissions: 125 – 116 g/km*) and the new BMW 330d Xdrive Sedan (combined fuel consumption: 5.0 – 4.7 l/100 km*; combined CO₂ emissions: 132 – 123 g/km*) and the new BMW 330d Touring (combined fuel consumption: 4.8 – 4.5 l/100 km*; combined CO₂ emissions: 128 – 119 g/km*) and the new BMW 330d Xdrive Touring (combined fuel consumption: 5.2 – 4.8 l/100 km*; combined CO₂ emissions: 136 – 127 g/km), it supports the new inline 6-cylinder diesel engine, which already provides additional driving pleasure with its maximum output increased by 15 kW/21 hp to 210 kW/286 hp. Thanks to a two-stage turbocharging system and an advanced common rail injection system whose piezo injectors now inject the fuel with up to ten injections per working cycle and a maximum pressure of 2 700 bar into the combustion chambers, engine response and efficiency of the 3.0 litre engine are optimised. The new diesel engine generates its maximum torque, which has been increased by 30 to 650 Nm, between 1 500 and 2 500 rpm. The increased power of the combustion engine and the additional electrical power noticeably improve the car’s sprint capacity. For example, the new BMW 330d Sedan improves its acceleration from zero to 100 km/h by 0.2 seconds to now 5.3 seconds.

In the BMW 8 Series, 48-volt mild hybrid technology is combined with an equally new and even more powerful 3.0-litre diesel engine. The BMW 840d xDrive Coupé models (fuel consumption combined: 5.8 – 5.6 l/100 km*; combined CO₂ emissions: 154 - 146 g/km), BMW 840d xDrive Convertible (fuel consumption combined: 6.0 – 5.7 l/100 km*; combined CO₂ emissions: 159 – 151 g/km) and BMW 840d xDrive Gran Coupé (combined fuel consumption: 5.9 – 5.6 l/100 km*; combined CO₂ emissions: 155 - 148 g/km) will be powered by a 250 kW/340 hp inline 6-cylinder engine in the future. The 15 kW/20 hp increase in top-level output also results from further advanced BMW TwinPower Turbo technology. It now includes a multi-stage turbocharger with variable turbine geometry for the high-pressure and low-pressure stages. The maximum torque of 700 Nm is generated alreadybetween 1 750 and 2 250 rpm. In the luxury sports car model range, the new drive technology enables the BMW 840d xDrive Coupé, for example, to improve its acceleration figure from a standing start to 100 km/h by 0.1 seconds to 4.8 seconds. The optimised performance characteristics of the diesel engine are accompanied by precisely adapted fine tuning of the chassis and its control systems.

The new diesel engines for the BMW 3 Series and the BMW 8 Series also represent the latest state of the art with regard to emissions. They feature exhaust gas treatment technology, whose engine-proximate components consist of a diesel oxidation catalytic converter and an SCR coating on the diesel particulate filter. In order to optimally reduce nitrogen oxide (NOX) emissions, a second metering unit is additionally integrated at the outlet of the engine-proximate SCR system.

BMW 1 Series, BMW 2 Series Gran Coupé: Additional engines and new optional extras.
New engines will be available from November 2020 for the BMW 1 Series and the BMW 2 Series Gran Coupé. The new BMW 116i (combined fuel consumption: 5.8 – 5.4 l/100 km*; combined CO₂ emissions: 133 – 124 g/km) is powered by a 3-cylinder petrol engine with an output of 80 kW/109 hp and a maximum torque of 190 Nm. It is equipped as standard with a manual 6-speed transmission and accelerates from zero to 100 km/h in 10.6 seconds. A 7-speed Steptronic transmission with double clutch is optionally available. In addition, the model range will be expanded to include the new BMW 120i (fuel consumption combined: 5.8 – 5.5 l/100 km*; combined CO₂ emissions: 134 – 126 g/km). Its 4-cylinder petrol engine generates a maximum output of 131 kW/178 hp and a maximum torque of 280 Nm and is combined as standard with a 7-speed Steptronic transmission with double clutch. The new BMW 120i accelerates from a standing start to 100 km/h in 7.0 seconds.

Outstanding economy is the hallmark of the new entry-level diesel engine for the BMW 2 Series Gran Coupé. The 3-cylinder diesel engine of the new BMW 216d Gran Coupé (fuel consumption combined: 4.1 – 3.8 l/100 km*; combined CO₂ emissions: 108 – 99 g/km) provides a maximum output of 85 kW/116 hp and a maximum torque of 270 Nm. It transmits its power to a 7-speed Steptronic transmission with double clutch as standard and enables acceleration from zero to 100 km/h in 10.3 seconds.

The range of optional equipment for the BMW 1 Series and the BMW 2 Series Gran Coupé is supplemented by the BMW Individual Shadow Line lights. With the black inserts at the upper edge of the headlamps they make the front view even more powerfully expressive.

Urban Cruise Control: Increased comfort and optimised safety when driving in urban traffic.
The increased level of comfort and safety achieved through combined speed and distance control will also be available in numerous current BMW models when driving in city traffic from autumn 2020 onwards. In conjunction with the optional Driving Assistant Professional, the Urban Cruise Control function is available in the BMW 3 Series and BMW 5 Series, the BMW 6 Series Gran Turismo, the BMW 8 Series and the BMW X5, BMW X6, BMW X7, BMW M5, BMW M8, BMW X5 M and BMW X6 M model series. It extends the range of functions of the Active Cruise Control with Stop & Go function by a traffic light recognition function. In addition to vehicles and traffic signs ahead, traffic lights registered by the stereo camera are also taken into account.

In the case of traffic light signals that are clearly related to the lane you are travelling, these are automatically registered by the speed and distance control system. If the traffic light is red, the system decelerates the vehicle to a standstill. A green light signals the continuation of the journey. In a more complex intersection situation where, for example, different light signals apply to different lanes, a traffic light symbol is displayed in the instrument cluster. The driver can then confirm the light signal shown there and continue to use the automatic speed and distance control or control the speed himself. For additional comfort in city traffic there is a drive reminder function. While stationary at a traffic light, the current traffic light phase is displayed in the instrument cluster; at the beginning of the green phase, the driver also receives a signal to start driving.

The Urban Cruise Control function can also be integrated into the car at a later date by means of a Remote Software Upgrade. With the exception of the BMW 8 Series models, this option is available for vehicles of all the above-mentioned series produced from July 2020 onwards and which are equipped with the Driving Assistant Professional.

New digital services for more driving pleasure: BMW News, BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant with new functions, personal profile picture and simple log-in.
The latest generation of the display and control system makes it possible to use new digital services in numerous current BMW models. The BMW Operating System 7, which is available in conjunction with BMW Live Cockpit, BMW Live Cockpit Plus or BMW Live Cockpit Professional, allows the driver to customise what is displayed to a very high degree. From November 2020, audio content will also be tailored to the driver’s wishes and needs with BMW News. Based on the driver’s individual interests, current online news is selected from publisher offerings and broadcast in the form of naturally spoken language via the vehicle's audio system.

The BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant is one of the particularly innovative services that features in current models with BMW Operating System 7. The digital companion, which enables intuitive operation of numerous vehicle functions via voice control (“Hey, BMW”), is constantly gaining new capabilities. From autumn 2020, the operating modes MAX eDrive and AUTO eDrive or ELECTRIC and HYBRID can also be activated in the appropriately equipped plug-in hybrid models by means of a naturally spoken instruction.

Optimised options for creating a driver profile allow further customisation opportunities. From November 2020, the driver can no longer only login by entering the BMW ID manually, but also via the My BMW App as well, making the process very convenient. A QR code generated for this purpose can be displayed on the Control Display, which can be scanned using a smartphone. The personal driver profile data can then be transferred to the vehicle. Also new: The driver can add a photo of his choice to his individual profile.

BMW X1 and BMW X2: New headlamp variants and BMW Individual High Gloss Shadow Line with extended features.
Adaptive LED headlights will be available for the compact BMW X2 Sports Activity Coupé from November 2020. They optimise visibility when driving at night, among other things by means of a high beam matrix function. This feature is able to increase the range of vision while at the same time avoiding any dazzle effect on other road users. To achieve this, the high beam is divided into several LED segments that can be activated and deactivated independently of each other to adapt how the road is illuminated to the respective traffic situation.

In addition, the striking BMW Individual Shadow Line lights are available as a new option for the BMW X2 and the BMW X1. The sporty appearance of the BMW X2 can be further enhanced by the BMW Individual High Gloss Shadow Line with extended features. In addition to the high-gloss black side window surrounds, this option includes a black frame for the BMW kidney grille and tailpipe trims in chrome black.

New paint finishes allow for expressive individualisation.
New additions to the range of paint finishes for numerous models will be introduced in autumn 2020 allowing for even greater levels of individualisation. The new San Remo Green metallic paint finish will also be available for the new BMW 4 Series Coupé in future. For the BMW X5, BMW X6 and BMW X7, the colours Dravit Grey metallic and Sparkling Brown metallic have been added to the range. In addition, the BMW Individual special paintwork finishes Grigio Telesto metallic, Urban Green metallic, Frozen Black metallic, Petrol Mica metallic, Ruby Red metallic, Avus Blue metallic and British Racing Green metallic are also available for the large BMW X models. 

For the BMW i3 (combined fuel consumption: 0.0 l/100 km; combined power consumption: 13.1 kWh/100 km; combined CO₂ emissions: 0 g/km) and BMW i3s (combined fuel consumption: 0.0 l/100 km; combined power consumption: 14.6 – 14.0 kWh/100 km; combined CO₂ emissions: 0 g/km) new paint finishes will also be available from November 2020. The purely electrically driven models will be available with paint finishes in Cashmere Silver with accents in BMW i Blue and Galvanic Gold with accents in Frozen Grey metallic and Fluid Black with accents in Frozen Grey metallic.

CO2 EMISSIONS & CONSUMPTION.

Munich. From the spring of 2020, BMW will contribute towards a further reduction of consumption levels and the optimisation of the emission performance of current models through the use of systematically evolved drive technology. In parallel with the expansion of the range of models featuring all-electric and plug-in hybrid drive scheduled to follow during the course of the year, both the efficiency and the exhaust emission quality of petrol-driven vehicles will be significantly increased.  This is ensured, inter alia, by innovative mild hybrid technology which, following the BMW 5 Series, will as from March/April also be deployed in the BMW 3 Series as well as the model series BMW X3 and BMW X4. At the same time, in the spring of 2020, 33 further BMW models will already comply with the Euro 6d emission standard, which will not become obligatory until 2021. 

A further drive variant for the BMW 1 Series as well as additional engines for the BMW 3 Series Sedan and the BMW 3 Series Touring will enhance the diversity of available options in the premium compact and premium midrange segment. Additional options for interior design provide for greater individuality in the BMW X5, the BMW X6 and the BMW X7.

Electric pulling power for efficiency and dynamics: Mild hybrid technology with 48-volt starter generator for further models.  

BMW is extending the use of mild hybrid technology to further models. This innovation, first introduced in the autumn of 2019 forthe four model variants of the BMW 520d (combined fuel consumption: 4.9 – 4.1 l/100 km; combined CO2 emissions: 128 – 108 g/km), comprises an extremely powerful 48-volt starter generator as well as an additional battery, and enhances both efficiency and dynamics of vehicles equipped with this technology. As from the spring of 2020, mild hybrid technology will also be featured as standard in the models BMW 320d Sedan (automatic transmission) (combined fuel consumption: 4.1 – 4.0 l/100 km; combined CO2 emissions: 107 – 105 g/km), the BMW 320d Touring (combined fuel consumption: 4.3 – 4.2 l/100 km; combined CO2 emissions: 112 – 109 g/km), the BMW 320d xDrive Sedan (combined fuel consumption: 4.4 – 4.3 l/100 km; combined CO2 emissions: 117 – 114 g/km), the BMW 320d xDrive Touring (combined fuel consumption: 4.5 – 4.5 l/100 km; combined CO2 emissions: 119 – 117 g/km), the BMW X3 xDrive20d (combined fuel consumption: 5.1 – 4.8 l/100 km; combined CO2 emissions: 134 – 126 g/km) and the BMW X4 xDrive20d (combined fuel consumption: 5.1 – 4.8 l/100 km; combined CO2 emissions: 133 – 125 g/km).

Mild hybrid technology provides significantly greater possibilities to make use of brake energy recuperation. The energy recuperated when accelerating and braking is not only used to provide electrically powered vehicle functions with energy but also to generate additional drive power. The 48-volt starter generator delivers an additional power output of up to 8 kW/11 hp. The electric over-boost is made available very spontaneously, thus enhancing dynamics when starting off and accelerating from a standstill.  During the journey, the electric over-boost can be used to support the combustion engine, enabling it to run as frequently as possible within an efficiency-optimised load range and to reduce consumption peaks. Moreover, when driving within inefficient operational ranges, it is possible to supply the 48-volt battery with additional energy from the starter generator by raising the load point when required.  

Furthermore, the 48-volt starter generator provides for exceptionally smooth switching off as well as a faster and thus more comfortable re-starting of the combustion engine when the Auto Start Stop function is used at road junctions or in traffic jams. When the vehicle decelerates, the combustion engine can be disconnected at a speed of less than 15 km/h. The kinetic energy gained when decelerating further to a standstill is then used for recuperation. The efficiencyenhancing effect of the “coasting” function has also been optimised. At a speed of up to 160 km/h, the combustion engine is no longer switched into idle mode but is completely disconnected. During the journey, engine re-start is also fast and comfortable. The optimised “coasting” function is available both in the COMFORT and ECOPRO modes of the Driving Experience Switch.

Optimised emission performance: 40 BMW models now already fulfil the future Euro 6d emission standard.

With yet a further optimisation of the emission performance of numerous models, BMW is preparing well in advance for future legal requirements governing exhaust emissions. As from the spring of 2020, 33 further models from various model series will fulfil the Euro 6d exhaust emission standard. Consequently, 40 BMW models comply with the demands specified by the more stringent standard a year prior to the new emission regulation coming into force. 

The vehicles that will already comply with the Euro 6d emission standard as from the spring of 2020 include model variants of the BMW 1 Series, BMW 2 Series and BMW 3 Series as well as the BMW X1, BMW X2, BMW X3, BMW X4, BMW X5 and the BMW X6.

New drive variants for the BMW 1 Series, the BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe, the BMW 3 Series Sedan and the BMW 3 Series Touring. Starting in March 2020, additional drive variants will increase the diversity of the BMW 1 Series and BMW 3 Series model range. The BMW 120d (combined fuel consumption: 4.6 – 4.3 l/100 km; combined CO2 emissions: 121 – 112 g/km) will be added to the model range in the premium compact segment. The power generated by the car’s 2-litre, 140 kW/190 hp four-cylinder diesel power unit featuring BMW TwinPower Turbo Technology is transferred to the front wheels via a standard 8-speed Steptronic transmission, allowing the new BMW 120d to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.3 seconds and to reach a top speed of 231 km/h. The new BMW 120d is one of the models that already fulfil the Euro 6d emission standard. 

The engines of the BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe will be expanded with a 216d diesel engine.

A new four-cylinder petrol engine with a displacement of 2 litres and BMW TwinPower Turbo Technology complements the drive portfolio for the new BMW 3 Series. Next to to that an 316d diesel engine will be added for the BMW 3 Series Sedan. The power unit for the new BMW 318i Sedan (combined fuel consumption: 5.7 – 5.3 l/100 km; combined CO2 emissions: 130 – 120 g/km) and the new BMW 318i Touring (combined fuel consumption: 6.2 – 5.7 l/100 km; combined CO2 emissions: 140 – 130 g/km) delivers a maximum power output of 115 kW/156 hp and a peak torque of 250 Nm. The standard equipment range for the new BMW 3 Series entry model includes an 8-speed Steptronic transmission. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/ is 8.4 seconds for the Sedan and 8.7 seconds for the Touring model. Top speed is 223 km/h (BMW 318i Sedan) and 220 km/h (BMW 318i Touring) respectively.

BMW 7 Series and BMW 8 Series with extended standard configuration, additional offer of leather options and interior trims for the BMW X5, the BMW X6 and the BMW X7.

From March 2020, a broader range of standard features will enhance comfort in the luxury-class models of the BMW 7 Series and the BMW 8 Series. In future, BMW 7 Series luxury sedans, BMW 8 Series luxury sports cars as well as the high-performance models BMW M8 Competition Coupe (combined fuel consumption: 10.6 l/100 km; combined CO2 emissions: 242 g/km), BMW M8 Competition Convertible (combined fuel consumption: 10.8 l/100 km; combined CO2 emissions: 246 g/km) and BMW M8 Competition Gran Coupe (combined fuel consumption: 10.7 l/100 km; combined CO2 emissions: 244 g/km) will be equipped with an automatic soft-close function for the doors.

Thanks to a wider selection of leather options and interior trims, there are now new possibilities to individualise the models BMW X5, BMW X6 and BMW X7. As from April, the leather trim perforated Vernasca in the colour combination Canberra Beige/Black is additionally available for these three models. In future, the BMW X6 can be ordered with the leather trim perforated Vernasca in the colour Cognac/Black. Likewise available for the Sports Activity Coupe are the extended BMW Individual leather options Merino in the colour combinations Tartufo/Black, Ivory White/Black and Ivory White/Night Blue/Black as well as the BMW Individual all-leather interior trim Merino in the colour combinations Coffee/Black and Tartufo/Black. Also new in the range of options for the BMW X6: High-grade Poplar Grain, Anthracite-Brown, open-pored.

Fuel consumption, CO2 emission figures and power consumption were measured using the methods required according to Regulation (EC) 2007/715 as amended. The figures are calculated using a vehicle fitted with basic equipment in Germany, the ranges stated take into account differences in selected wheel and tyre sizes as well as the optional equipment. They may change during configuration.

The figures have already been calculated based on the new WLTP test cycle and adapted to NEDC for comparison purposes. In these vehicles, different figures than those published here may apply for the assessment of taxes and other vehicle-related duties which are (also) based on CO2 emissions.

BMW will introduce a wave of enticing additions to standard specification and broaden the array of options available ex-factory in spring 2019, delivering a further boost to driving pleasure and individuality in many of its model ranges. New design features, exterior paint finishes and light-alloy wheels enhance the sporting appearance of the BMW 2 Series Coupe, BMW 2 Series Convertible, BMW 3 Series Gran Turismo, BMW 4 Series, BMW M4 Coupe (fuel consumption combined: 10.0 – 9.9 l/100 km [28.3 – 28.5 mpg imp]; CO2 emissions combined: 227 – 225 g/km) and BMW M4 Convertible (fuel consumption combined: 10.2 – 10.1 l/100 km [27.7 – 28.0 mpg imp]; CO2 emissions combined: 232 – 230 g/km). Joining the equipment offering for the BMW 5 Series Sedan and BMW 5 Series Touring, meanwhile, is a BMW Individual Composition with M Sport features.

The spread of BMW X1 and BMW X2 model variants presented to customers has also been further expanded, and their exhaust gas treatment systems will now include a gasoline particulate filter. Spring 2019 will see the arrival of the BMW X2 M35i (fuel consumption combined: 7.1 – 6.9 l/100 km [39.8 – 40.9 mpg imp]; CO2 emissions combined: 161 – 158 g/km) as the flagship model in the compact Sports Activity Coupe’s line-up. And just a few months on from the market launch of the new BMW 8 Series Coupe and new BMW X5, the selection of exterior paint finishes and leather appointments for the luxury sports car and Sports Activity Vehicle will grow to include additional variants.

BMW 2 Series Coupe, BMW 2 Series Convertible, BMW 3 Series Gran Turismo: fresh touches enhance sportiness and elegance.
Among the refreshing flourishes enriching the visual sportiness and elegance of the BMW 2 Series Coupe and BMW 2 Series Convertible are darkened rear lights, which will become part of standard specification in March 2019. The high-performance BMW M2 Competition (fuel consumption combined: 10.0 – 9.8 l/100 km [28.3 – 28.8 mpg imp]; CO2 emissions combined: 227 – 224 g/km) will likewise come with darkened rear lights as standard. BMW 2 Series Coupe and BMW 2 Series Convertible customers ordering their car in Sport Line specification will find additional bi-colour 17- and 18-inch light-alloy wheels on the options list.

18-inch M light-alloy wheels in twin-spoke design, painted in matt Cerium Grey and with mixed-size tyres, will be offered as a new option for the BMW M240i Coupe (fuel consumption combined: 7.4 – 7.3 l/100 km [38.2 – 38.7 mpg imp]; CO2 emissions combined: 168 – 167 g/km), BMW M240i xDrive Coupe (fuel consumption combined: 8.0 – 7.8 l/100 km [35.3 – 36.2 mpg imp]; CO2 emissions combined: 181 – 178 g/km), BMW M240i Convertible (fuel consumption combined: 7.6 – 7.6 l/100 km [37.2 – 37.2 mpg imp]; CO2 emissions combined: 173 – 172 g/km) and BMW M240i xDrive Convertible (fuel consumption combined: 8.4 – 8.3 l/100 km [33.6 – 34.0 mpg imp]; CO2 emissions combined: 191 – 188 g/km). The palette of exterior paint finishes for the particularly sporty six-cylinder BMW 2 Series models now also includes the new Long Beach Blue metallic variant, while the optional interior trim strips in smooth matt Carbon Fibre heighten the cabin’s sporting allure.

All Sport Line model and M Sport model variants of the BMW 2 Series Coupe and BMW 2 Series Convertible come with a black kidney grille surround. And new to the options list for the interior is Dakota leather trim with exclusive stitching.

Dark rear lights will also be included in the standard specification for the BMW 3 Series Gran Turismo from March 2019. Cars with the optional Adaptive LED Headlights also have black inserts for the headlight units, which the M Sport model will complement with a BMW kidney grille, exhaust tailpipe embellishers and exterior mirror caps (optional) in High-gloss Black. Added to which, Jet Black 18-inch M light-alloy wheels in star-spoke design and 19-inch M light-alloy wheels in twin-spoke design with Jet Black polished finish and mixed-size tyres are available for M Sport models as a new and exclusive option. In addition, the exterior colour shade Mineral White metallic can be specified for M Sport cars.

BMW 4 Series, BMW M4 Coupe, BMW M4 Convertible: new paint finishes, light-alloy wheels and leather appointments.
The BMW 4 Series will present an even more alluring proposition from March 2019 thanks to new individualisation options. For example, the stylish elegance of the BMW 4 Series Gran Coupe will be showcased to particularly stunning effect by the BMW Individual paint finish Aventurine Red metallic and BMW Individual special paint finish Frozen Dark Grey metallic. The selection of colours available for the BMW 4 Series Coupe and BMW 4 Series Convertible now also includes Mediterranean Blue metallic. Newcomers to the range of optional equipment available for all BMW 4 Series models are 18-inch light-alloy wheels in twin-spoke design and the bi-colour paint variant Orbit Grey, plus 19-inch M light-alloy wheels in twin-spoke design and bi-colour Jet Black with mixed-size tyres.

The interior also contains some new and distinctive touches in the form of the Mocha colour shade for the optional Dakota leather trim on Sport Line, Luxury Line and M Sport cars and interior trim strips in Carbon Fibre, which are available in conjunction with M Sport specification. The M Sport and Sport Line variants of the BMW 4 Series will now be fitted with black rear light screens and a BMW kidney grille surround in High-gloss Black as standard.

Darkened rear lights are also set to adorn the rear of the BMW M4 Coupe and BMW M4 Convertible. The BMW Individual paint finish Frozen Dark Blue II will be offered as an option for the two high-performance models from March 2019. Plus, the BMW M4 Coupe with M Competition package can be ordered with two new bi-colour leather trim options. BMW Individual fine-grain Merino full leather trim is available in the Sakhir Orange/Black and Silverstone/ Black combinations.

Exclusive dynamics: new M Sport Individual equipment line for the BMW 4 Series.
A new and highly desirable addition to the selection of equipment lines available from March 2019 for the BMW 4 Series Coupe, BMW 4 Series Convertible and BMW 4 Series Gran Coupe is the M Sport Individual model. Here, signature M features designed to fuel dynamic driving pleasure team up with suitably exclusive options from BMW Individual. The new equipment line includes the BMW Individual paint finish Tanzanite Blue metallic, an M Aerodynamics package, BMW Individual High-gloss Shadow Line, 19-inch BMW Individual light-alloy wheels in V-spoke design with mixed-size tyres, and variable sport steering. Rear-wheel-drive models also get M Sport suspension.

Among the features engendering a sporty and luxurious ambience in the interior are sports seats for the driver and front passenger, BMW Individual extended leather upholstery Merino in Opal White, heated seats, an M leather steering wheel, the lighting package and BMW Individual interior trim strips in Piano Finish Black. The BMW 4 Series Coupe and BMW 4 Series Gran Coupe add a BMW Individual headliner in Anthracite. Customers can also choose from a wide range of options when it comes to exterior paint finishes, light-alloy wheels, leather upholstery and interior trim strips.

BMW 5 Series range: BMW Individual Composition with M Sport features.
A neatly blended selection of super-exclusive design and equipment features distinguishes the BMW Individual Composition with M Sport features available for the BMW 5 Series Sedan and BMW 5 Series Touring from March 2019. The new option includes BMW Individual paintwork in Azurite Black metallic, Carbon Black metallic, Champagne Quartz metallic, Almandine Brown metallic or Rhodonite Silver metallic, 20-inch BMW Individual light-alloy wheels, BMW Individual extended leather upholstery Merino in Tartufo, Caramel or Smoke White, comfort seats with active seat ventilation, a leather-covered BMW Individual instrument panel, a BMW Individual headliner in Anthracite and BMW Individual interior trim strips.

The exquisite options for the exterior and interior team up with an M Aerodynamics package, M Sport suspension, M Sport braking system, an M leather steering wheel, illuminated M door sill plates, BMW Individual High-gloss Shadow Line trim and kidney grille bars in High-gloss Black. This equipment package also brings LED front foglamps, trapezoidal exhaust tailpipe embellishers in chrome and optional ambient lighting.

BMW 8 Series Coupe now available with a richer variety of paint finishes and leather appointments.
The show-stopping design and luxurious interior ambience of the new BMW 8 Series Coupe can be tailored even more precisely to the owner’s personal style from spring 2019 thanks to a wider array of exterior paint finishes and leather appointments. The spectrum of body colours available has expanded to include the BMW Individual paint finishes Aventurine Red metallic and Tanzanite Blue metallic and the BMW Individual special paint finishes Brilliant White metallic, Frozen Dark Brown metallic, Frozen Arctic Grey metallic, Frozen Cashmere Silver metallic, Frozen Dark Silver metallic, Frozen Brilliant White metallic and Pure Metal Silver metallic.

Meanwhile, BMW Individual fine-grain Merino full leather trim will appeal to those looking to lend a particularly exclusive feel to the design of their car’s interior. It can be ordered in Black, Ivory White and Cognac, as well as the Fiona Red/Black, Tartufo/Black, Ivory White/Tartufo and Midnight Blue/Black combinations. Also new to the options list are BMW Individual fine wood interior trim strips in Black Ash Silver Effect high-gloss.

BMW X5: new exterior colours and leather appointments.
The range of body colour shades and leather appointments for the new BMW X5 will also be further expanded in spring 2019. The Sports Activity Vehicle will now be available with the exterior paint finishes Sophisto Grey Brilliant Effect metallic and Terra Brown metallic and BMW Individual paint finishes Ruby Black metallic, Pyrite Brown metallic, Ametrine metallic and Tanzanite Blue metallic.

A selection of additional options will help customers bring a personalised flavour to the interior of the new BMW X5. New arrivals include BMW Individual extended leather upholstery Merino in Ivory White/Midnight Blue combination and BMW Individual fine-grain Merino full leather trim in Black, Ivory White, Tartufo, Coffee and Ivory White/Midnight Blue. And from April 2019, BMW Individual interior trim strips in Fineline Black fine wood with aluminium inlays will also be available as an option.

Sales get underway of the BMW X2 M35i; BMW X1 xDrive20i, BMW X2 xDrive20i and BMW X1 xDrive25i now with gasoline particulate filter.
The BMW X2 will welcome a new top-of-the-line model variant in spring 2019. The market launch des BMW X2 M35i sees the extrovert design of the compact Sports Activity Coupes link up with an extremely powerful four-cylinder petrol engine. The new 2.0-litre unit with M TwinPower Turbo technology generates maximum output of 225 kW/306 hp and peak torque of 450 Nm (332 lb-ft), and accelerates the BMW X2 M35i from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 5.0 seconds. Power transfer is via an eight-speed Steptronic Sport transmission and BMW xDrive intelligent all-wheel drive. An M Sport braking system and mechanical M Sport differential at the front axle also play their part in endowing the flagship X2 with its standout sporting prowess.

More petrol variants of the BMW X1 and BMW X2 will boast further reduced emissions from March 2019. The BMW X1 xDrive20i (fuel consumption combined: 6.7 l/100 km [42.2 mpg imp]; CO2 emissions combined: 152 g/km), BMW X2 xDrive20i (fuel consumption combined: 6.7 – 6.5 l/100 km [42.2 – 43.5 mpg imp]; CO2 emissions combined: 152 – 147 g/km) and BMW X1 xDrive25i (fuel consumption combined: 6.8 l/100 km [41.5 mpg imp]; CO2 emissions combined: 155 g/km) will now be fitted with a gasoline particulate filter to cut levels of particulate emissions.

Munich. Numerous new features in the area of drive technology enhance driving fun as well as reducing emissions in the current MINI models as of summer 2018. Emission control in all petrol-engine variants of the MINI 3 door, MINI 5 door and MINI Convertible as well as the MINI Clubman and MINI Countryman will include a particulate filter as of July 2018. The models of the British premium brand with this feature meet the particularly rigorous requirements of the Euro 6d-TEMP emission standard. This demonstrates how MINI consistently continues to pursue the optimisation of emissions in its current models. The diesel engine variants of the MINI Clubman and MINI Countryman have met the Euro 6d-TEMP standard since March 2018. Their emission control system includes not just a diesel particulate filter and an NO_X storage catalytic converter but also an SCR catalytic converter which features a special urea injection (AdBlue) for highly effective reduction of nitrogen oxide emissions.

In addition, the relevant model variants of the MINI Clubman and MINI Countryman will be fitted with enhanced petrol engines as of July 2018. Here, optimised MINI TwinPower Turbo Technology especially benefits fuel consumption and emission levels. As an alternative to the standard manual transmission, the petrol engine models of the MINI Clubman and MINI Countryman will be available with a 7-speed Steptronic transmission in future.

Thrilling shift dynamics, a high level of comfort, optimised convenience:
7-speed Steptronic transmission with double clutch.
Fast gear changes and a high level of internal efficiency are the properties of the 7-speed Steptronic transmission with double clutch available as an option for further variants of the successful MINI models in the premium compact segment from July 2018 onwards. The use of two clutches when changing gear enables particularly sporty acceleration without torque interrupt. In addition to enhanced driving fun, the design principle adapted from motor racing also has all the comfort features of an automatic transmission. It ensures harmonious and acoustically barely perceptible changes in drive position, free of load change reactions in the engine – not just when sprinting but also when decelerating. The 7-speed Steptronic transmission with double clutch also enables use of the auto start/stop function and the coasting function to increase efficiency. Furthermore, the transmission control is networked with the navigation system if the vehicle is fitted with one. In this way, navigation data can be used to adapt the choice of gear perfectly to the route. Operation of the 7-speed Steptronic transmission with double clutch is by means of an electronic gear selector switch. This transmits the driver's instructions by means of electrical impulses to the transmission control.

From July 2018 onwards, the 7-speed Steptronic transmission with double clutch is also available as an option in combination with the enhanced petrol engines for the MINI Clubman and the MINI Countryman. The efficiency-optimised petrol engines fitted as standard with a particulate filter meet the requirements of the Euro 6d-TEMP emission standard. With the 7-speed Steptronic transmission, the combined fuel consumption figure for the MINI One Clubman and the MINI Cooper Clubman is now 5.7 litres per 100 kilometres in each case (CO₂ level: 130 g/km). The figures for the MINI Cooper S Clubman are 5.8 litres per 100 kilometres and 133 g/km. The combined fuel consumption and the CO₂ emissions level of the MINI One Countryman with 7-speed Steptronic transmission are 5.9 litres per 100 kilometres and 135 – 134 g/km. For the MINI Cooper Countryman the figures are 5.9 to 5.8 litres per 100 kilometres and 134 – 132 g/km). The corresponding figures measured in the MINI Cooper S Countryman are 6.0 litres and 138 – 136 g/km (figures depend on the tyre format selected). All fuel consumption and emissions figures were arrived at using the new WLTP measuring procedure and then adapted to NEDC for comparison purposes by means of correlation.

Even faster gear changes are enabled by the 7-speed Steptronic sports transmission, available as an additional option for the MINI Cooper S Clubman and the MINI Cooper S Countryman. Shift paddles are available at the steering wheel in this version of the automatic transmission for manual intervention in the choice of drive position.


As standard in the MINI Clubman and the MINI Countryman: automatic driving lights control.
An addition to the standard range of fittings for the MINI Clubman and the MINI Countryman from summer 2018 serves to enhance both comfort and safety. In future, the two MINI models in the premium compact segment will be fitted with automatic driving lights control as standard. This function ensures needs-oriented activation and deactivation of the headlights and rear lights depending on the light conditions in the environment of the vehicle. For this purpose, the driving light switch in both models can be turned to an additional position from July 2018: it is marked by a graphic symbol containing the letter "A". When using the automatic driving lights system, the lights are not only activated at night but also when dusk is falling and when visibility is poor due to the weather conditions, as well as when passing through tunnels or in dark multi-storey car parks.

Munich. From November 2017 onwards, the CFRP driveshaft in the BMW M3 Sedan, BMW M4 Coupe and BMW M4 Convertible high-performance sports cars (fuel consumption combined: 9.5 – 8.3 l/100 km [29.7 – 34.0 mpg imp], CO2 emissions combined: 218 –194 g/km) will be gradually replaced by an M specific high-performance driveshaft made of steel. This measure will create the necessary technical basis for meeting future statutory emissions requirements. At a later point in time, a petrol particulate filter (PPF) will be incorporated into the existing installation space in these models in major markets.

The newly developed steel driveshaft has been designed to ensure the superlative performance and handling qualities of the BMW M3/M4 high-performance sports cars remain unaffected.

For production-related reasons, this pre-enabling needs to be carried out universally for the BMW M3 Sedan, BMW M4 Coupe and BMW M4 Convertible. This measure does not apply to the BMW M4 CS and BMW M4 GTS special-edition models.

Now in their fifth generation, the BMW M3 Sedan, BMW M4 Coupe and BMW M4 Convertible represent the epitome of the high-performance sports car that can be used without compromise every day. Customer deliveries of the successful current generation of models have now topped 68,000.

Consumption and Emission Data.

BMW Série 2 Coupé: athlète compacte.

La BMW Série 2 Coupé est arrivée sur le marché au printemps 2014. Le modèle séduit par son concept d’ensemble qui se démarque de la concurrence par la carrosserie deux portes au look trois volumes classique, typique des coupés BMW, par ses quatre places, la propulsion ainsi que la gamme des moteurs et le réglage du châssis axés sur la sportivité. S’y ajoute la grande aptitude au quotidien de la BMW Série 2 Coupé qui fait 4 432 millimètres de long et offre un coffre à bagages d’une capacité de 390 litres.

BMW Série 2 Cabriolet: plaisir de conduire à ciel ouvert.

La BMW Série 2 Cabriolet qui est lancée au même moment affiche des dimensions identiques. Les porte-à-faux réduits, le long capot moteur, l’habitacle reculé, le grand empattement et la voie large débouchent sur les proportions classiques d’un cabriolet BMW. En configuration ouverte, la capote pliante à commande électrique se fond dans la carrosserie tel un « pont de bateau », en configuration fermée, elle offre un confort acoustique élevé résultant d’une isolation supplémentaire. BMW Série 2 Coupé et BMW Série 2 Cabriolet: succès mondial.

Depuis 2014, BMW a livré plus de 140 000 unités de la BMW Série 2 Coupé et de la BMW Série 2 Cabriolet aux clients du monde entier (situation fin février 2017). Avec ses quelque 93 000 unités, la BMW Série 2 Coupé se taille la part du lion, les ventes du cabriolet arrivé en 2015 totalisant environ 48 000 unités. Munich. From the spring of 2017, the new BMW 5 Series, the sportiest and most innovative business sedan in its segment, will also set new standards in terms of efficiency. The new BMW 520d EfficientDynamics Edition impresses with a combined fuel consumption level of 4.3 to 3.9 litres per 100 kilometres (combined CO2 emission level: 114 – 102 g/km). Also, from March 2017, groundbreaking innovations in the areas of networking and operating, now being presented for the first time in the BMW 5 Series, will find their way into further model series – the digital parking space search service On-Street Parking Information and the live tile arrangement of the menu on the Control Display.

With a further extended range of driver assistance systems, the BMW 7 Series is making further advancements on the way to automated driving. The spectrum now also includes, amongst other things, the Lane Departure Assistant, ActiveAssist Collision Avoidance, Cross-Traffic and Wrong-Way Driving Alert as well as the Remote 3D View function. From the spring of 2017, BMW 6 Series models will underpin their exclusive and sporty aura with attractive innovations included in the range of special equipment options. The Digital Charging Service, an innovative feature for convenient and economical charging of the high-voltage battery, will become available exclusively for BMW i and BMW iPerformance automobiles. From March 2017, new and exceedingly high-quality options will be added to the range of special equipment for the BMW 3 Series and the BMW 4 Series as well as for the models BMW X5 and BMW X6.

BMW 520d EfficientDynamics Edition: greater driving pleasure, less CO2. 
As from March 2017, the driving pleasure that is characteristic of the new BMW 5 Series Sedan will be combined with the lowest fuel consumption and emission levels in this vehicle segment. The new BMW 520d EfficientDynamics Edition is powered by a 2-litre, four-cylinder diesel engine featuring BMW TwinPower Turbo technology, delivering a maximum power output of 140 kW/190 hp and a peak torque of 400 Newton metres available between 1,750 and 2,500 rpm. The Sedan accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.5 seconds and achieves a combined fuel consumption of between 4.3 and 3.9 litres per 100 kilometres and CO2 emission levels of between 114 and 102 grams per kilometres (figures as per EU test cycle, depending on selected tyre size). The power unit of the BMW 520d EfficientDynamics Edition features, inter alia, a turbo charger mounted on anti-friction bearings, high pressure exhaust gas recirculation, a map-controlled oil pump and further developed Common Rail direct injection technology, the solenoid injectors of which ensure precise fuel dosing with a maximum pressure of 2,000 bar.

In addition to the optimised efficiency of both the engine and the standard 8-speed Steptronic transmission, enhanced aerodynamic characteristics as well as the Sedan’s greatly reduced weight vs. its predecessor also contribute towards achieving the favourable fuel consumption and CO2 emission levels. Moreover, in order to optimise emission behaviour, the BMW 520d EfficientDynamics Edition is equipped with BMW BluePerformance technology, which in addition to the particulate filter, an oxidation catalyst and a NOX storage catalyst, also features an SCR catalytic converter with AdBlue injection technology reducing nitrogen oxide emissions even further.

On-Street Parking Information in further BMW models and available for additional towns and cities.
Starting in March 2017, thanks to intelligent networking, drivers will be provided in a large number of BMW models not only with real-time information on the traffic situation, but will also receive assistance in finding a parking space in major urban areas. The BMW ConnectedDrive Service Real Time Traffic Information (RTTI), which is available in conjunction with the navigation system Professional, will also be complemented by the unique On-Street Parking Information function. Similar to the RTTI feature, this digital service uses intelligent networking to assess the availability of free road-side parking spaces from both pre-stored and current data. The calculated probability of finding a free parking space at the destination is displayed to the driver by means of coloured markings on the navigation map depicted on the Control Display.

In future, the On-Street Parking Information service will make finding a parking space far easier in as many as ten German cities. In addition to Munich, Berlin, Hamburg, Cologne, Düsseldorf, Frankfurt and Stuttgart, the availability of parking spaces will also be analysed in real time in Nuremberg, Bremen and Hanover as from March 2017. The function, which is being featured for the first time in the new BMW 5 Series Sedan, is now available for all current models with the exception of the BMW X1, the BMW 2 Series Active Tourer and the BMW 2 Series Gran Tourer.

Even more intuitive: Navigation system Professional with animated buttons arranged as tiles.
The latest innovations for the display and control concept, which made their debut in the new BMW 5 Series, will be available for further series as from March 2017. In conjunction with the navigation system Professional, the Control Display of the iDrive system will, thanks to a new enhanced graphic representation, facilitate even more intuitive operation in the BMW 7 Series and BMW 6 Series as well as in all variants of the BMW M6. The on-board monitor displays menus in the form of horizontally arranged buttons with a tile structure. These six buttons, the order of which can be individually configured by the driver, are displayed in the main menu on two sides of the screen. This ensures more convenient and faster access to the desired content. A new menu option is “Messages”, allowing access to incoming text messages and e-mails as well as information on the vehicle’s operating condition.

These functions, which are available using the menu selection, are symbolised by animated graphics in live mode. For example, in the overview and by means of a displayed map section, the navigation menu button already displays the route the vehicle is currently travelling on, whilst the entertainment menu graphics show the title of the song currently playing, including album cover, or the name of the selected radio station.

BMW 7 Series with additional driver assistance systems and Remote 3D View.
From the spring of 2017, there will be an even broader choice of driver assistance systems to ensure even greater driving pleasure, comfort and safety in 7 Series models. From March 2017, the systems will be included in the optional equipment package Driving Assistant Plus. They offer the driver effective assistance in many different situations, leading the way to automated driving. For example, the Steering and Lane Guidance Assistant being presented in the luxury sedans for the first time will be complemented by the Lane Change Assistant, which can be used when driving on motorways and other roads with separated directional carriageways. At speeds of between 70 and 180 km/h, the driver can initiate a lane change by holding the indicator lever in the one-touch position. The system sensors then analyse the situation on the neighbouring carriageway. If they detect that this lane is clear and there are no vehicles approaching at a high speed, the steering assistant conveniently helps the driver to change lanes.  

A further addition to the range of Driving Assistant Plus functions is the ActiveAssist Collision Avoidance system. Should a rapid lane change become necessary in order to avoid a suddenly appearing obstacle, it provides steering assistance at speeds of up to 160 km/h. The Cross Traffic Alert function, also included in the equipment package as from March, provides visual and acoustic signals if the traffic signs identified by the stereo camera should indicate that the driver has overlooked a road with right of way. The new Driving Assistant Plus features are complemented by the Wrong-Way Driving Alert feature. This system analyses navigation data in order to provide information on hazardous situations. It intervenes when the vehicle is driving in the wrong direction into one-way streets, roundabouts or motorway entrances.

In conjunction with the Surround View system, a feature that provides assistance with a combination of camera images taken from several different perspectives when the vehicle is manoeuvring in tricky situations, drivers of a BMW 7 Series will in future also have access to the Remote 3D View feature, the Surround View system of which provides them with permanent access to a three-dimensional live image of their vehicle and its surroundings, this being transmitted to their smartphone via the BMW Connected feature.

New option for the BMW 3 Series and the BMW 4 Series: Multifunctional instrument display.
From March 2017, a novel feature in the field of display technology will also ensure an even more intensive driving experience in BMW 3 Series and BMW 4 Series models, for which the multifunctional instrument display will be optionally available. The fully digital TFT colour display featuring black panel technology for the cockpit provides driving-related information in an individually selectable design. The colour scheme, graphic representation and choice of contents vary according to the driving mode selected via the Driving Experience Control button.

In COMFORT mode, the display shows a conventional image of the four round instruments using the corresponding graphics. A zoom function highlights the respective driving speed and engine speed. In ECO PRO mode, additional information on current fuel efficiency replaces the rev counter. In SPORT mode, the current speed is displayed digitally in the form of a large central figure, whilst the selected gear is indicated in the centre of the rev counter.

BMW 6 Series with distinctive accents for the exterior and interior.
From the spring of 2017, new and attractive special equipment features will also be available for the BMW 6 Series. These options, which are on offer exclusively for the BMW 6 Series Coupe, the BMW 6 Series Convertible and the BMW 6 Series Gran Coupe, underscore the sporting character of the three luxury class models. The choice of body colours will be complemented by the brand-new variant Sonic Speed Blue metallic. In conjunction with the M Sports package, new 20-inch, M bicolour light alloy wheels boasting an M-specific double spoke design will be available, including mixed tyres and emergency running characteristics as well as interior trims in a carbon fibre look.

Comfortable, eco-friendly, cost efficient: Digital Charging Service for BMW i and BMW iPerformance automobiles.
The BMW i brand has become a pioneer in the field of sustainable individual mobility, not only thanks to groundbreaking vehicle concepts and drive technologies, but also with numerous innovative services. The latest innovation in this area is the Digital Charging Service for intelligent charging of the high-voltage battery featured in BMW i and BMW iPerformance automobiles. So the BMW Group is the first carmaker to offer a system that conveniently helps the driver to make use of favourable electricity tariffs or a high proportion of self-generated solar energy during the charging process.

In order to achieve best possible charging cost efficiency, the BMW Digital Charging Service takes into account not only tariffs with a dynamically varying price in the daytime, but also those that include predetermined highest and lowest prices. As a result, it is possible, for example, to take maximum advantage of particularly favourable overnight rates.

In conjunction with the new BMW i Wallbox Connect, the Digital Charging Service can also optimise the use of electricity from a domestic photovoltaic system. In this case, the amount of locally generated solar electricity is predicted based on the system’s performance data and the current weather forecast. Using this data, it is also possible to determine the proportion of solar electricity that is not consumed in the home at the time of being produced and can, therefore, be used for completely emission-free mobility. As a result, fully electric and/or hybrid vehicles are integrated as best possible into the domestic environment and the customer’s individual energy concept.

The BMW Digital Charging Service automatically schedules the start and finish of each charging process with a view to best possible cost efficiency or maximum proportion of green electricity respectively. In the process, the charging schedule always ensures that the vehicle has the maximum battery capacity at the desired departure time and that the interior is also fully air-conditioned. The unique service is an integral part of BMW ConnectedDrive Services available for all BMW i and BMW iPerformance automobiles.

New light alloy wheels for the BMW X5 and the BMW X6.
In the spring of 2017, the range of optional equipment available ex factory for the models BMW X5 and BMW X6 will also include for the

first time 21-inch light alloy wheels previously only available exclusively from the Original BMW Accessory range. The M light alloy wheels boasting a double spoke design and bicolour look with burnished spokes come with mixed tyres with emergency running characteristics. They are available in conjunction with the M Sports Package for all model variants with the exception of the BMW X5 sDrive25d, BMW X5 xDrive25d and the BMW X5 xDrive40e iPerformance.

BMW X5 M and BMW X6 M now with the navigation package ConnectedDrive as standard.
As from the spring of 2017, the range of standard equipment for the BMW X5 M and the BMW X6 M will be supplemented by the navigation package ConnectedDrive, also featuring telephony with wireless charging. It includes among other options the navigation system Professional, a smartphone holder with which inductive charging of a mobile phone is possible, the RTTI service including On-Street Parking Information, a WiFi hotspot, ConnectedDrive Services, Concierge Services and Remote Services.

Munich. With the world premiere of the most powerful diesel engine ever used in a BMW production car and the introduction of three BMW iPerformance models, the drive portfolio of the BMW 7 Series continues to gain in diversity and fascination in the summer of 2016. At the same time, the BMW 1 Series and the BMW 2 Series will feature further petrol engines of the BMW Group's latest drive generation for the first time. These also include an even more powerful but also more efficient straight six-cylinder for the BMW M Performance models BMW M140i 3-door, BMW M140i 5-door, the BMW M240i Coupe and the BMW M240i Convertible.

Like the plug-in hybrid powered BMW 7 Series luxury sedans, the three additional BMW iPerformance models will in future also be recognisable by their characteristic exterior design features. Other innovations taking effect as from July 2016 include the introduction of the optional features telephony with wireless charging and WLAN hotspot for additional series. Moreover, in conjunction with the optional navigation system Professional, the iDrive control system now also features a new menu display in tile format for the BMW 1 Series, the BMW 2 Series Coupe and the BMW 2 Series Convertible, models of the BMW 3 Series and BMW 4 Series.

BMW 7 Series: New high-performance diesel engine and three BMW iPerformance models.

With the latest innovations in the field of drive technology being introduced in the summer of 2016, the BMW 7 Series is yet again setting a fascinating example of dynamics and efficiency in the luxury sedan segment. An entirely newly developed straight six-cylinder diesel engine is making its debut in the models BMW 750d xDrive and BMW 750Ld xDrive. The BMW TwinPower Turbo technology featured in the 3-litre power unit comprises four turbochargers, whose precisely coordinated function ensures an early onset of pulling power that continues right up into high engine speed ranges. With a peak output of 294 kW/400 hp and a maximum torque of 760 Newton metres, the new six-cylinder is the most powerful diesel engine ever used in a BMW model. With supreme power delivery and power transmission via the standard intelligent four-wheel drive system, the BMW 750d xDrive accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.6 seconds (BMW 750Ld xDrive: 4.7 seconds), also offering even more forward thrust at high speeds that can be felt intensively at any time during short bursts of speed. Furthermore, the new top-of-the-range diesel model excels through exceptionally low fuel consumption that is truly unique in this performance class. Combined fuel consumption of the BMW 750d xDrive and the BMW 750Ld xDrive is between 5.9 and 5.7 litres per 100 kilometres and CO2 emissions are between 154 – 149 g/km (figures as per EU test cycle, depending on selected tyre size).

The BMW 7 Series iPerformance models will also be launched together with new diesel variants in the summer of 2016. The plug-in hybrid drive system including BMW eDrive technology from BMW i automobile development will become available for the models BMW 740e iPerformance featuring a standard wheelbase, for the BMW 740Le iPerformance with a long wheelbase and for the BMW 740Le xDrive iPerformance with intelligent four-wheel drive. Together, the combustion engine and electric motor featured in these models generate a system output of 240 kW/326 hp, their intelligently controlled interaction ensuring impressively spontaneous power delivery resulting in exemplary efficiency. Furthermore, driving in solely electric mode is possible with a vehicle range of up to 44 to 48 kilometres (BMW 740Le xDrive iPerformance: 41 – 45 kilometres). The sprint from 0 to 100 km/h is completed in 5.4 seconds with the BMW 740e iPerformance, in 5.5 seconds with the BMW 740Le iPerformance and in 5.3 seconds with the BMW 740Le xDrive iPerformance. Average combined fuel consumption per 100 kilometres is between 2.2 and 2.0 litres (BMW 740Le xDrive iPerformance: 2.5 – 2.1 litres). CO2 emissions are between 50 and 45 grams per kilometre (BMW 740e iPerformance) or 51 and 45 grams per kilometre (BMW 740Le iPerformance) or 56 and 49 grams per kilometre (BMW 740Le xDrive iPerformance) respectively. Combined power consumption is 13.9 kWh/100 km to 12.5 kWh/100 km. (figures as per EU test cycle for plug-in hybrid vehicles, depending on selected tyre size).

BMW M Performance models of the BMW 1 Series and BMW 2 Series: New engine generation with enhanced power and optimised efficiency.

From July 2016, BMW M Performance automobiles of the BMW 1 Series and BMW 2 Series will underscore their outstanding sporting character even more intensely with an extremely powerful straight six-cylinder petrol engine of the latest generation. Compared with the previous engine, the newly developed 3-litre power unit featuring M Performance Twin Power Turbo technology now mobilises 250 kW/340 hp following a power increase of 10 kW/14 hp and delivers a maximum of 500 Newton metres of torque. As a result, the BMW M Performance models now come up to the performance level of the BMW 1 Series M Coupe, which was built from 2011 to 2012. They complete the spurt from 0 to 100 km/h by up to 0.3 seconds faster than the predecessor models, whilst both fuel consumption and CO2 emissions as per EU test cycle are up to 7 percent lower than before. The increase in power under the bonnet and the resulting enhanced dynamics are also expressed in the new model designations for the BMW M140i 3-door, the BMW M140i 5-door, the BMW M240i Coupe and the BMW M240i Convertible. They are optionally available with BMW xDrive intelligent four-wheel drive technology.

With the standard 6-speed manual transmission, the models BMW M140i 3-door and BMW M140i 5-door accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.8 seconds or with the optional 8-speed Steptronic sports transmission in 4.6 seconds respectively. Fuel consumption as per EU test cycle is 7.8 litres per 100 kilometres (automatic: 7.1 litres) and CO2 emissions 179 grams per kilometre (163 g/km). The BMW M140i xDrive 3-door and the BMW M140i xDrive 5-door come as standard with an 8-speed Steptronic sports transmission and both reach the 100 km/h mark from a standstill in 4.4 seconds. Their combined fuel consumption is 7.4 litres per 100 kilometres and CO2 emissions are 169 grams per kilometre.

The BMW M Performance models of the BMW 2 Series are also optionally available with BMW xDrive intelligent four-wheel drive technology and are in this case equipped as standard with the 8-speed Steptronic sports transmission. The BMW M240i Coupe sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.8 seconds (automatic: 4.6 seconds) and has a combined fuel consumption of 7.8 litres per 100 kilometres (7.1 litres) as per EU test cycle. CO2 emissions are 179 grams per kilometre (163 g/km). The BMW M240i xDrive Coupe completes the sprint to 100 km/h in 4.4 seconds and achieves an average fuel consumption of 7.4 litres per 100 kilometres as well as a CO2 emission level of 169 grams per kilometre. The BMW M240i Convertible accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.9 seconds (automatic: 4.7 seconds). Average fuel consumption is 8.3 litres per 100 kilometres (automatic: 7.4 litres) and CO2 emissions are 189 grams per kilometre (169 g/km). The BMW M240i xDrive Convertible sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.6 seconds and has an average fuel consumption of 7.8 litres per 100 kilometres as per EU test cycle and a CO2 emission level of 179 grams per kilometre.

BMW 1 Series, BMW 2 Series Coupe and BMW 2 Series Convertible: New four-cylinder petrol engine for eight models.

From July 2016, the generation change under the bonnet will affect many further models of the BMW 1 Series and the BMW 2 Series. Two variants of the BMW 1 Series 3-door, the BMW 1 Series 5-door, the BMW 2 Series Coupe and the BMW 2 Series Convertible will each be powered by new four-cylinder petrol engines that further optimize the balance between driving pleasure and fuel consumption. The 2-litre power units both feature latest BMW TwinPower Turbo technology comprising a Twin Scroll turbo charger, direct petrol injection, VALVETRONIC and Double VANOS. Power is transferred to the rear wheels via a standard 6-speed manual transmission and optionally via an 8-speed Steptronic transmission.

The new engines help the BMW 120i 3-door and the BMW 120i 5-door attain an increase in output of 5 kW/7 hp to 135 kW/184 hp. Equipped with the standard manual transmission or the optional 8-speed Steptronic transmission, both models accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.1 seconds. Combined fuel consumption is between 6.1 and 5.7 litres per 100 kilometres (automatic: 5.9 and 5.5 litres). CO2 emissions are between 140 and 131 grams per kilometres (135 – 126 g/km (figures as per EU test cycle, depending on selected tyre size).

Engine output of the models BMW 125i 3-door and BMW 125i 5-door has also increased by 5 kW/7 hp. With a power delivery of 165 kW/224 hp and the meanwhile standard 8-speed Steptronic transmission, both models now sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.1 seconds. The enhanced dynamics are coupled with a lower fuel consumption of 5.9 to 5.7 litres per 100 kilometres and CO2 emissions of 134 to 130 grams per kilometre (figures as per EU test cycle, depending on selected tyre size).

The new version of the 135 kW/184 hp four-cylinder engine also optimizes efficiency of the BMW 220i Coupe and the BMW 220i Convertible. The BMW 220i Coupe accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.1 seconds (automatic: 7.2 seconds and achieves a combined fuel consumption of 6.1 bis 5.7 litres per 100 kilometres (5.9 – 5.5 litres) and CO2-emissions of 140 to 131 grams per kilometre (135 – 126 g/km). The BMW 220i Convertible sprints to100 km/h in 7.5 seconds (7.7 seconds) and combined fuel consumption is now between 6.5 and 6.1 litres per 100 kilometres (6.1 – 5.7 litres). CO2 emission levels are between 149 and 139 grams per kilometre (140 – 131 g/km (figures as per EU test cycle, depending on selected tyre size).

July 2016 will see the launch of the BMW 2 Series’ sportiest four-cylinder variants with a power output increase of 5 kW/7 hp to 185 kW/252 hp vs. their predecessors and with the model designations BMW 230i Coupe and BMW 230i Convertible. These also come as standard with a 6-speed manual transmission and optionally with an 8-speed Steptronic or 8-speed Steptronic sports transmission respectively. The sprint from 0 to 100 km/h is completed by the BMW 230i Coupe in 5.8 seconds (automatic: 5.6 seconds). Average fuel consumption is between 6.4 and 6.2 litres per 100 kilometres (5.9 – 5.7 litres) and CO2 emissions are between 147 and 142 grams per kilometre (134 – 130 g/km). The BMW 230i Convertible accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.1 seconds (automatic: 5.9 seconds) and has a combined fuel consumption of 6.8 to 6.5 litres per 100 kilometres (6.2 – 6.0 litres). CO2 emissions are between 155 and 149 grams per kilometre (142 – 137 g/km (figures as per EU test cycle, depending on selected tyre size).

With the market launch of the first plug-in hybrid models, BMW eDrive technology comprising electric motors, lithium ion high-performance batteries and intelligent energy management have now been added to the BMW brand’s vehicle range. In addition to the three BMW 7 Series plug-in hybrid models available starting July 2016, three further segments offer a choice of vehicles combining a combustion engine with an electric drive. In future, they will bear the model designations BMW 225xe iPerformance Active Tourer, BMW 330e iPerformance Sedan and BMW X5 xDrive40e iPerformance. The technology transfer from BMW i automobile development, helping them attain a new level of dynamics and path-breaking efficiency, is now underscored by characteristic exterior design features.

In addition to the “eDrive” logo on the C pillar, the BMW iPerformance models will feature a BMW i logo on the front left and right sidewalls, blue hubcaps and a BMW kidney grill with slats painted in typical BMW i blue. From December 2016, these new features will be standard on the BMW X5 xDrive40e iPerformance and on all further BMW iPerformance models as early as from July 2016. Analogous to the model name plates on all BMW models, specific design features on BMW iPerformance models can also be omitted if the customer so wishes. Further equipment features originally designed for the BMW i3 and the BMW i8 and which are also available as standard or as options for all BMW iPerformance models, include hybrid-specific BMW ConnectedDrive services as well as the complete BMW i 360° ELECTRIC portfolio.

New from BMW ConnectedDrive: BMW iDrive with optimized menu display, telephony with wireless charging and WLAN hotspot available for further models.

From the summer of 2016, three new features from BMW ConnectedDrive, which were previously only available for the BMW 7 Series and BMW 6 Series, will also find their way to the BMW 1 Series, the BMW 2 Series Coupe and the BMW 2 Series Convertible, the BMW 3 Series and BMW 4 Series. A new, extremely clearly structured menu display and a higher screen resolution for the Control Display will in future optimize the control of vehicle, infotainment, navigation and communication functions via the iDrive controller. In conjunction with the navigation system Professional, the on-board monitor no longer displays the main menu and control options for the various functions in lists, but in the form of adjacently arranged tile symbols. Furthermore, the speech recognition feature of the navigation system Professional has been supplemented by the function Natural Language, with which spoken instructions can be given not only as predefined text modules, but also freely formulated in complete sentences.

The optional feature telephony with wireless charging enhances comfort when using mobile phones inside the vehicle. Inductively chargeable smartphones can be supplied wirelessly with electricity during the journey using the mobile telephone facility provided for this purpose in the centre console. Apart from the integration of the smartphone into the vehicle operating system, the new option also includes a connection to the exterior antenna and two USB ports as well as the WLAN hotspot function, which facilitates high-speed Internet connectivity for up to eight mobile end devices.

Wider choice of leather seats for the BMW 1 Series, BMW 2 Series, BMW 3 Series and BMW 4 Series.

As a variant that is ideally suited to the charisma of the model M Sport, the leather trim Dakota in the colour black with blue contrast stitching will be available for the BMW 1 Series, the BMW 2 Series Coupe and the BMW 2 Series Convertible as well as for all models of the BMW 3 Series and BMW 4 Series from July 2016. In the case of all BMW 3 Series and BMW 4 Series, both the model M Sport as well as the models Luxury Line and Sport Line can now be ordered with the seat variant Dakota Veneto Beige in combination with the interior colour black.
