mobility. As a catalyst for positive cultural change, the
ex-footballer, presenter and broadcaster will spearhead the new
'Living with Electric' campaign featuring the BMW iX2, underscoring
the brand’s commitment to innovation and the widespread adoption of
  electro mobility.</p>
<p>Alex exemplifies a rebellious spirit that the BMW iX2 champions.
Renowned not only for her remarkable football career on and off the
pitch but also for her influential roles in sports presenting,
  activism and fashion.</p>
<p>A recent YouGov report revealed that there is extensive
misinformation and a lack of knowledge<a href="#_ftn1" name="_ftnref1" title="">[1]</a> regarding electric vehicles (EVs). Specifically,
women are being left behind, with only a fifth considering electric
vehicles compared to a third of men<a href="#_ftn2" name="_ftnref2" title="">[2]</a>. To encourage widespread adoption, it is essential to
broaden this approach to resonate more powerfully with a diverse audience.</p>
<p>Leading by example, Alex will play a pivotal role in the Living with
Electric multimedia campaign that documents her journey and transition
to electric driving with the BMW iX2. Launched earlier this year, the
first-ever BMW iX2 blends a new dynamic style, cutting edge
technology, increased space and exceptional comfort, while offering up
to 283 miles (WLTP)* of range on a single charge. With its
striking front end and standalone design features, the BMW iX2 is
designed for those who refuse to settle for the status quo – much like Alex.</p>
<p>With unprecedented control over her own content, as director she will
offer relatable, practical advice and an honest perspective on
navigating EV ownership. The series will address her initial doubts
and concerns, demystify common misconceptions about electric vehicles,
provide information to drive positive change and cut through the jargon.</p>
<p>Commenting on her involvement, Alex adds, "I hold my hands up, I
wasn’t sure how an electric car would fit into my busy lifestyle,
given the miles I travel and common concerns about charging. However,
as someone who supports positive cultural change, I was eager to
  explore the possibilities.</p>
<p>The BMW iX2 has completely transformed my perspective. It's a joy to
drive and fits seamlessly into my routine, with intuitive charging
options at home or on the go. It's powerful and offers excellent
connectivity, which is crucial for my lifestyle. For me, this marks
the start of a new era in driving and a way to make choices that
  contribute to a better future.”</p>

<p>The BMW X2 first introduced the concept of a Sports Activity Coupé in
the premium compact segment. And now the even more distinctive,
sportier and forward-looking second generation is set to reaffirm
  BMW’s leadership in the fast-evolving sector.<br />
<br />Significantly larger dimensions, a pronounced coupé silhouette
and dynamic lines visually showcase the development leap taken by the
new BMW X2. The progressive character of the new model is also evident
in the fully electric BMW iX2 variant, as well as in a large spread of
driver assistant systems enabling automated driving and parking, and
in the innovative digital services delivered by the new BMW iDrive
with QuickSelect and BMW Operating System 9.<br />
<br />The range of drive variants extends the car’s appeal into
additional target groups and will contribute to the new BMW X2
building on the success of the original model, of which more than
  380,000 examples were sold worldwide.<br />

<br />The world premiere of the new BMW X2 and new BMW iX2 will take
place at the Japan Mobility Show in Tokyo (formerly the Tokyo Motor
Show), which will open its doors on 26 October 2023.<br />
<br />The new BMW X2 will be priced from £40,515, with the iX2
eDrive20 starting from £51,615 OTR. Order books open today at BMW
retailers across the UK, with the first deliveries expected to begin
  in March 2024.<br />
  <br />
  <strong>Accelerating the ramp-up of electric mobility</strong>
<br />The new BMW iX2 sees the BMW Group accelerating the ramp-up of
electric mobility. The company now has at least one pure electric
vehicle in all major model segments and is aiming to have more than
two million fully electric vehicles on the road by the end of 2025. By
2030, it is anticipated that every second vehicle sold by the BMW
Group worldwide will have an all-electric drive system.<br />
<br />A flexible vehicle architecture allows the new BMW X2 and BMW
iX2 to be produced on a single assembly line at BMW Group Plant
Regensburg. The high-voltage batteries for the fully electric variant
are also made at the Regensburg site.<br />
<br />BMW Group Plant Regensburg has become the automotive industry's
first plant worldwide to use an end-to-end digitalised and automated
process in standard production for inspection, processing and marking
of painted vehicle surfaces by AI-controlled robots. The Bavarian
plant is therefore taking another step towards becoming a digital and
intelligently connected facility – the BMW iFactory.<br />
  <br />
<strong>Sporty exterior design complemented with a modern and spacious interior</strong>
<br />The distinctive, sporty appearance of the new BMW X2 is
accompanied by a modern cockpit design shaped by digital innovations,
including the BMW Curved Display, and by a spacious interior.<br />
<br />The new BMW X2 has grown by 194mm in length over its
predecessor, to 4,554mm. This means the model also stretches 54mm
beyond the BMW X1. Its wheelbase is now 2,692mm (+ 22mm), and it also
stands 21mm wider, at 1,845mm. Wider tracks at both the front and
rear, together with the larger-diameter wheels, give the new BMW X2 a
broader, muscular stance on the road. The vehicle height is 1,590mm,
  up 64mm compared with its predecessor.<br />
<br />Inside, the new BMW X2 houses five full-size seats, with all
occupants benefiting from increased shoulder and elbow room. Kneeroom
in the second row of seats has been expanded by 25mm.<br />
<br />With all the seats in use, the new BMW X2 can accommodate 560
litres of cargo, 90 litres more than its predecessor. The load
compartment’s capacity can be expanded to 1,470 litres (+ 115 litres).
  The mild hybrid BMW X2 sDrive20i has a boot capacity of 515 – 1,400
litres, while the fully electric BMW iX2 offers between 525 and 1,400 litres.<br />
<br />A trailer tow hitch can be ordered as an option, now operated
electrically at the touch of a button. The maximum permitted trailer
load is as much as 1,800kg, depending on the model (BMW iX2: 1,200kg).<br />
  <br />
<strong>Striking front end with standalone design features</strong>
  <br />The model-specific front-end design of the new BMW X2 brings
sporting allure and visual extravagance to the premium compact
segment. Front and centre is the new interpretation of two signature
brand features: the BMW kidney grille and twin headlights. The two
connected elements of the kidney grille together form an almost
hexagonal contour, and its outline is highlighted by a
three-dimensional surround. The optional illuminated BMW kidney grille
Iconic Glow gives the car a particularly distinctive appearance. The
model-specific air inlet grille with sporty honeycomb structure is
finished in Black high-gloss. The inner section of the enclosed BMW
kidney grille on the BMW iX2 has an intricate structure and surfaces
  in Quartz Silver.<br />
<br />The headlight units extend well into the wheel arches. The new
BMW X2 comes as standard with LED headlights for low and high beam.
Two vertical LED units with a subtle arrow shape include the daytime
driving lights and turn signal indicators. Adaptive LED Headlights
with non-dazzling matrix high beam, plus urban lights, motorway beam
pattern and bad weather light are available as part of the Technology
Pack. M lights Shadowline available with the M Sport Pro Package.<br />
<br />The design of the lower air intake drops very deeply and extends
well into the sides of the front end. It is flanked to either side by
elegant, wing-shaped inlays, which guide the air to the air curtains
in the front apron. The bonnet also has a model-specific design with
  dynamic contours.<br />
  <br />
<strong>Coupé-shaped silhouette merged with clean body surfaces and
    flared wheel arches</strong>
<br />The distinctive proportions of the new BMW X2 are showcased
particularly clearly when viewed side-on. The upright front end, long
bonnet, heavily raked A-pillars and roofline flowing dynamically into
the rear feed into the typical silhouette of a BMW Sports Activity
Coupé. Large wheels and a wraparound black border at the lowest edge
of the body are subtle pointers to its robust character.<br />
<br />At its trailing edge, the slender side window graphic features a
tweaked interpretation of the Hofmeister kink familiar from BMW models
past and present. The door openers are integrated flush with the body.
Shallow roof rails in Black high-gloss can be specified as an option.<br />
  <br />
<strong>Distinctive rear design set off with innovatively-split
    all-new light units</strong>
<br />The flared wheel arches and muscular shoulders also shape the
appearance of the new BMW X2 when viewed from the rear. The character
lines along the flanks continue to the rear, creating a flowing
connection between the different areas of the body. Like the contours
of the rear lights, the body lines and surface structures are
horizontal in execution, accentuating the width of the rear.<br />
<br />Below the heavily raked rear window, a bold Gurney-style spoiler
generates additional downforce. A concave surface below the rear
spoiler creates a three-dimensional effect. The model-specific rear
apron of the new BMW X2 is composed of a black surface which frames
the number plate and extends as far as the side body edging. Inserts
styled as intakes and vertical reflectors add sporting flavour.<br />
<br />The all-new light units are distinctively split into two
sections and extend well into the car’s flanks and the tailgate. All
of the light functions use LED technology.<br />
  <br />
<strong>Intelligent lightweight design enables enhanced efficiency and
agility<br /></strong>The BMW Efficient Dynamics technology package
minimises energy consumption in the use phase of the vehicle. As well
as the powertrain, it encompasses energy management, rolling
resistance, aerodynamics and weight reduction via intelligent
  lightweight design.<br />
<br />The weight-optimised construction of the body and chassis
components brings gains in efficiency and heightens the agility of the
new BMW X2 and BMW iX2. An intelligent mix of materials minimises
vehicle weight while enhancing rigidity and crash safety. The
hot-stamped steels and aluminium alloys used for the passenger cell
are supplemented by multi-phase steels for extra reinforcement. At the
front of the BMW iX2, an additional shear panel and a stiff connection
  with the high-voltage battery’s housing, a load-bearing component,
increase body rigidity. The all-electric model also has a special
strut between the strut towers to enhance torsional rigidity,
  directional stability and turn-in response.<br />
<br />Making the bonnet from aluminium cuts weight at the front end of
the car, which further aids handling agility. Meanwhile, lightweight
plastic supports for the front and rear doors bring further weight
savings. The use of steel components with a zinc/magnesium coating
  optimises corrosion protection.<br />
<br />Enhanced aerodynamics of the new BMW X2 likewise improve both
efficiency and driving dynamics. The power consumption and range of
the BMW iX2 benefit from the lower drag generated by the closed-off
BMW kidney grille. All other variants have an active air flap control
system for the kidney grille and lower intake, which adapts its
responses to the need for cooling air and the ambient temperatures.
Other contributors to aerodynamic efficiency include air curtains in
  the outer sections of the front apron; flush-fitting door handles;
aerodynamically optimised exterior mirrors, rear lights and
light-alloy wheels; and a model-specific rear spoiler. Added to which,
the flow of air around the car is guided with the help of a large
diffuser in the lower section of the rear apron and a virtually fully
sealed underbody with precisely defined air guides. The smooth sealing
for the high-voltage battery in the BMW iX2 has a positive effect on
drag. Together, these features bring the car’s drag coefficient
(Cd) down as far as 0.25 (BMW iX2) or 0.27 (BMW X2),
  depending on the version.<br />
<br />An optimised sealing concept around the doors and tailgate, plus
newly designed exterior mirrors, reduce wind noise compared to the
previous model. The use of acoustically optimised tyres also reduces
noise, while an improved engine and transmission mounting limits
vibrations. Starting the combustion engine and turning it off also
generate significantly lower vibrations in the new BMW X2. Optional
acoustic glazing shields the interior from outside noise.<br />
<br />A model-specific mounting and optimised encapsulation for the
electric motor, power electronics and transmission – which are
arranged in a single housing – increase the acoustic comfort of the
BMW iX2, which also has a soundproofed and double-decoupled
  refrigerant compressor.<br />
  <br />

<strong>BMW iX2: premium electric mobility in a compact Sports
Activity Coupé<br /></strong>The new BMW iX2 is offered in two
variants in the UK, the BMW iX2 eDrive20 and the BMW iX2 xDrive30,
with the former going on sale in the UK in March 2024.<br />
<br />The new BMW iX2 eDrive20 (electric power consumption, combined:
  16.9 – 16.0 kWh/62 miles in the WLTP cycle) takes a particularly
economical route to delivering locally emission-free driving pleasure
in a compact Sports Activity Coupé (SAC). Powered by a 204 hp electric
motor at the front axle, it sprints from 0 to 62 mph in 8.6 seconds
and posts a range of 272 – 283 miles in the WLTP cycle. Its top speed
  is limited to 106 mph.<br />
  <br />The all-electric iX2 xDrive30 will give fresh momentum to
locally emission-free premium mobility. Its two electric motors
together generate 313hp (including temporary boost) and 494Nm. The
highly integrated drive units are grouped with the power electronics
  and transmission in a compact housing.<br />
  <br />The power-to-weight ratio of both the eDrive 5.0 M170SF drive
unit at the front axle and the eDrive 5.0 M170SR at the rear is 1.5
kW/kg, for instantaneous acceleration and supreme traction and
directional stability. The new BMW iX2 xDrive30 is able to go from 0
to 62mph in 5.6 seconds on the way to an electronically governed top
speed of 112mph. Combined power consumption in the WLTP cycle is 17.7
  – 17.0kWh per 62 miles.<br />
<br />Like the motors, the high-voltage battery in the new BMW iX2
xDrive30 is the product of the latest, fifth generation of BMW eDrive
technology. The battery is installed in a space-saving position in the
car’s underfloor section and provides 64.8kWh of usable energy. This
and the high efficiency of the drive system help the new BMW iX2
  xDrive30 to achieve a range of 259 – 267 miles in the WLTP cycle.<br />
  <br />
<strong>Combined Charging Unit and optimised software for fast and
    efficient charges</strong>
<br />The new BMW iX2 xDrive30 is equipped with an advanced Combined
Charging Unit that brings together the functions of the voltage
transformer, charging electronics and power distribution, plus the
management systems for the drive, high-voltage and charging functions,
into a single highly integrated control unit. It enables AC charging
up to 11kW as standard, which means the high-voltage battery can be
recharged from 0 to 100 per cent in 6.5 hours. Customers can also
choose three-phase AC charging up to 22kW as an option. This reduces
the charging time to 3 hours 45 minutes. DC charging up to 130kW at a
suitable fast-charging station makes it possible to boost the
high-voltage battery’s energy reserves from 10 to 80 per cent capacity
  in 29 minutes.<br />
<br />The latest version of the Max Performance Charging software
included in the BMW iX2 optimises efficiency when charging the car.
Once the high-voltage battery reaches a higher state of charge (SOC),
the new charging process ensures the charging rate drops smoothly
instead of following the previous “stepped” curve, resulting in
shorter charging times. The Max Performance Charging software also
makes it possible to top up the battery at the full charging rate from
a higher starting SOC of up to 50 per cent.<br />
<br />Anticipatory thermal management of the high-voltage battery is
optimally controlled in good time before a stopover at a fast-charging
station. An optimised cooling strategy during DC charging further
improves the durability of the high-voltage battery. Alternating
phases of full and partial cooling power are used when charging the
BMW iX2 to avoid excessive cooling of the battery during fast charging.<br />
  <br />
<strong>Increasing range via adaptive recuperation and the new MAX
    RANGE function</strong>
<br />When driving, adaptive recuperation helps to conserve power
reserves or even recover electrical energy during overrun and braking.
Thanks to intelligent networking, the drive system can use navigation
and driver assistance system data to adjust how much power is
recuperated according to the respective traffic situation. As an
alternative to adaptive recuperation, the driver can select high,
medium or low braking energy recovery for all traffic situations via
  the BMW iDrive menu.<br />
<br />The maximum recuperation power in driving mode B using the
accelerator alone is 60kW. Recuperation of up to 120kW can be
generated via the brake pedal regardless of the driving mode.</p>
<p>The range of the BMW iX2 can be extended by activating a new drive
system function when driving in Efficient My Mode setting. With the
MAX RANGE function, drive power and top speed are carefully restricted
and comfort functions scaled back, allowing range to be increased by
  up to 25 per cent.<br />
  <br />
<strong>48V mild hybrid technology for petrol
engines<br /></strong>Advanced 48V mild hybrid technology not only
reduces fuel consumption and emissions, it also optimises power
delivery. Alongside its role as a powerful starter generator, the 48V
electric motor integrated into the standard seven-speed Steptronic
transmission with double clutch can both supplement the output of the
combustion engine and ease the load on it. Depending on the driving
situation, it contributes an additional 19hp of power and produces
nominal torque of 55Nm.<br />The 48V battery – which provides the
energy for the extra output and for the starter generator, and also
supplies the car’s 12V network via a voltage transformer – is
installed under the load compartment. It is charged by adaptive
recuperation in overrun and braking phases at a rate of up to 15kW.
Through the intelligent networking of all the data from driver
assistance system sensors and the information from the navigation
system, the intensity of energy recuperation when the driver releases
the accelerator pedal is adjusted to suit the driving situation even
when route guidance is deactivated.<br />
  <br />
<strong>Efficient three-cylinder petrol engine from the latest
generation powers the new BMW X2 sDrive20i<br /></strong>A
three-cylinder petrol unit powers the new BMW X2 sDrive20i. Among the
new features serving to enhance efficiency and reduce emissions are
the Miller cycle (which shortens the opening time of the intake
valves), redesigned intake ports and combustion chambers, and an
ignition system featuring an active coil with integrated electronics.
Mixture preparation is optimised using a new dual injection system.
The effectiveness of the turbocharging system and intercooler has also
  been increased.<br />
<br />Teaming up with the 48V mild hybrid system, the 1.5-litre engine
in the new BMW X2 sDrive20i generates maximum output of 170hp (156hp
at 4,700 – 6,500rpm plus the electric motor’s 19hp) and peak torque of
  280Nm (240Nm at 1,500 – 4,400rpm and the integrated electric motor’s
55Nm). The new BMW X2 sDrive20i sprints from 0 to 62 mph in
8.3 seconds. Combined fuel consumption comes in at 44.8 – 48.7 mpg and
  CO2 emissions at 143 – 131g/km, both as per the WLTP cycle.<br />
  <br />
<strong>Exceptionally powerful new four-cylinder engine powers the BMW
    X2 M35i xDrive<br /></strong>The most potent incarnation of the
four-cylinder petrol unit from the latest modular generation of
engines serves as the power source for the BMW X2 M35i xDrive. Various
innovations set the new engine apart. They include the adoption of the
Miller cycle, redesigned intake ports and combustion chambers, and
changes to the camshaft timing, injection, ignition system and exhaust
  gas routing.</p>
<p>Among the unit’s M-specific highlights are a new, robust crankshaft
drive, an optimised system of oil supply for the pistons with cooling
channels, and new main bearing shells and caps. Its M TwinPower Turbo
technology has been upgraded by increasing the performance of the
turbocharging system and indirect charge air cooling at the same time
as introducing dual injection for mixture preparation as a function of
load point. The 2.0‑litre engine generates 300hp between 5,750 and
6,500rpm, with peak torque of 400Nm from 2,000 to 4,500rpm. The BMW X2
  M35i xDrive sprints to 62mph in 5.4 seconds.<br />
  <br />The rich-sounding M-specific exhaust system features two pairs
of tailpipes nestled neatly into the left and right of the rear apron
  – a signature feature of high-performance models from BMW M.<br />
  <br />
<strong>Seven-speed Steptronic transmission with double clutch as
standard<br /></strong>The two petrol engines are paired to a
seven-speed Steptronic transmission with double clutch. This latest
generation transmission stands out with fully electric actuation,
widened gear ratio spread and greater internal efficiency. The
transmission automatically shifts into P when the engine is switched
off. If the car is parked on a slope, the electric parking brake is
  automatically applied.<br />
<br />Standard fit gearshift paddles on the steering wheel enable
ultra-fast manual gear changes. The left-hand paddle is also used to
activate the Sport Boost function.<br />
<br />In the BMW X2 M35i xDrive, drive power is relayed via a
seven-speed Steptronic transmission with an ultra-sharp shift action.
Besides shift paddles on the steering wheel, it also brings the M
Sport Boost function. The M Launch Control function is also available.<br />
  <br />The transmission also features a built-in mechanical
limited-slip differential. Together with the BMW xDrive
all-wheel-drive system for fully variable distribution of power
between the front and rear wheels, this serves to maximise traction,
handling stability and cornering dynamics.<br />
  <br />
<strong>Newly developed front and rear axle componentry</strong>
<br />The new BMW X2 has adopted its predecessor’s design principle
for the front and rear axle. However, all components of the front
single-joint spring strut axle have been developed almost from
scratch. The new axle kinematics and increased rigidity help to give
the car agile turn-in and steering feel largely unaffected by torque
steer. The supports for the hydromounts are now made from aluminium,
saving around 3kg. Following readjustment of the steering axle, the
caster offset has been increased by 15 per cent over its predecessor,
for a positive effect on both steering feedback and straight-line stability.<br />
<br />The modular three-link rear axle fitted on all model variants
also has the ideal ingredients for sporty handling. Featuring a
bespoke design with remarkably high rigidity, it is partnered by a
rear-axle subframe with a rigid mounting and promises precise wheel
guidance even under high lateral acceleration. The springs and dampers
take up less space thanks to their separate arrangement.<br />
<br />For the first time, the front axle has been equipped with extra,
lift-related damping using an additional sleeve on the dampers.<br />
  <br />
  <strong>Adaptive M suspension with frequency-selective damping as standard</strong>
<br />Adaptive M suspension is standard across the range. Both agility
and long-distance comfort benefit from this suspension system’s
mechanically controlled adjustable and frequency-selective dampers.
The specially designed damper system brings about a 15mm drop in ride
  height on all models.<br />
<br />Sport steering, with a direct rack ratio and Servotronic
speed-sensitive power assistance, is part of the adaptive M suspension.<br />
  <br />
<strong>Near-actuator wheel slip limitation for extremely quick,
    precise response</strong>
<br />The new BMW X2 now includes near-actuator wheel slip limitation
to maximise the car’s agility and composure in challenging driving
situations. Unique in this segment, this traction control system is
integrated into the engine management, eliminating the long signal
paths to the DSC control unit. This allows corrective inputs to be
applied up to ten times faster than in conventional systems and with
exceptional precision. This ensures optimum traction, poise and
  excellent handling stability.<br />
  <br />
<strong>Outstanding stopping power provided by integrated braking
    system and M Sport brakes</strong>
<br />The new BMW X2 is equipped with an integrated braking system
that delivers outstanding stopping power and superior pedal feel. This
system brings together the brake activation, brake booster and braking
  control functions within a compact module.<br />
  <br />The M Sport brakes comprise of four-piston, fixed-calliper disc
brakes at the front wheels and single-piston, floating-calliper items
  at the rear.<br />
  <br />The all-new model comes with 19-inch M light-alloy wheels as
  standard and the BMW X2 M35i xDrive comes with 20-inch M light-alloy
wheels as standard. Further light-alloy wheels up to 21 inches are
  available as options.<br />
  <br />
  <strong>Adaptive M suspension, sport steering and 20-inch M
    light-alloy wheels as standard</strong>
<br />The bespoke chassis technology in the BMW X2 M35i xDrive
produces the dynamic, agile and precise handling for which M models
are renowned. Adaptive M suspension, sport steering, model-specific
bracing elements at the front end of the vehicle and the exceptionally
rigid anti-roll bar mounts all work to optimise handling, steering
  response and precision.<br />
<br />The new BMW X2 M35i xDrive can be specified with the option of M
Compound brakes, comprising four-piston, fixed-calliper brakes with
385mm drilled discs at the front and single-piston, floating-calliper
units with 330mm discs at the rear. The brake callipers are painted
  grey and bear the M logo.<br />
  <br />
  <strong>Individual design with familiar M details</strong>
<br />The standout performance of the new BMW X2 M35i xDrive is
reflected in distinctive design features that optimise aerodynamics
and the flow of cooling air. A front apron with large air intakes
ensures the engine, transmission and brakes can continue to work
within their optimum temperature windows at all times. Other sporting
details include prominent side skirt extensions, black M exterior
mirror caps, a model-specific M rear spoiler with central indent and a
rear apron with diffuser inlay.<br />
<br />The BMW M kidney grille fitted to the new BMW X2 M35i xDrive
bears the M logo. The grille also sports horizontal double bars, a
design cue originally developed for high-performance models from BMW M
GmbH. The same applies to the quartet of exhaust tailpipes – each
measuring 100mm in diameter – integrated into the rear apron.<br />
  <br />
<strong>Cockpit design includes M-specific displays and availability
    of M Sport seats</strong>
<br />The M‑specific cockpit design also plays its part in creating a
high-intensity performance experience inside the new BMW X2 M35i
xDrive. Highlights include aluminium Hexacube Light interior trim
elements, an M leather steering wheel with gearshift paddles and red
centre marker, an Alcantara-covered instrument panel, an
anthracite-coloured headliner, M door sill trim, M pedals and the
M‑specific graphics of the BMW Curved Display and, optionally, the BMW
  Head-Up Display.<br />
<br />Standard equipment for the new BMW X2 M35i xDrive also brings
anthracite Veganza/Alcantara sport seats with blue contrast stitching.
These can optionally be trimmed in Vernasca leather with special
diamond quilting. Also on the options list are M Sport seats. These
offer multi-way electric adjustment (including memory function for the
driver’s seat), have integral head restraints and feature an
illuminated M logo in the upper section of the backrests.<br />
  <br />
<strong>Integrated overall safety concept optimises occupant protection</strong>
<br />A comprehensive passive safety concept maximises occupant
protection. Besides the extremely rigid passenger cell and highly
resilient load-bearing structures, it also includes integrated safety
electronics which deploy the restraint systems in the right sequence,
at the optimum moment and with the required effect for the specific
  collision type and severity.<br />
<br />The new BMW X2 also comes as standard with an active bonnet to
improve pedestrian protection. Pyrotechnic actuators raise the bonnet
if the vehicle collides with a pedestrian, creating more deformation
space between the bonnet and the hard underlying structures.<br />
<br />The safety standards set by the BMW Group go well beyond the
legal requirements. Strengthened bumper cross members plus a
structure-optimised casing protect the high-voltage battery of the
BMW iX2 in a collision. Energy-absorbing outer longitudinal profiles
and the housing’s particularly stiff cross struts keep the collision
forces away from the battery cells. The safety of the high-voltage
components has been extensively demonstrated over the course of
extensive testing and simulations. The safety concept also includes a
sensor system for crash detection, which triggers a shutdown of the
high-voltage system. In addition, pyrotechnic separators decouple the
  high-voltage battery from the on-board power supply.</p>
<p>
<strong>New generation of front collision warning system adds
    safety-enhancing features</strong>
<br />The new BMW X2 is fitted as standard with the latest version of
the front collision warning system with brake intervention, which
brings additional functions to help prevent an accident. It comprises
features such as Collision Warning, pedestrian and cyclist warning
with braking function, and Crossroads Warning. It can also warn the
driver of pedestrians and cyclists who are parallel to the road and
approaching the vehicle from the front or rear when turning left. If a
vehicle is approaching on the side of the road the driver needs to
cross, visual and acoustic warnings are triggered and the brakes are
applied to prevent the driver from continuing with their turn-off manoeuvre.<br />
  <br />
<strong>Optional Driving Assistant with new exit warning function</strong>
<br />Opting for the Driving Assistant upgrades the standard
specification by adding the Lane Change Warning system, which helps
the driver to guide the car back into the original lane, likewise by
means of a steering input. The Driving Assistant’s features also
include Rear Collision Prevention and Rear Crossing Traffic Warning,
which reduces the danger of a collision when reversing.<br />
<br />There is also an exit warning function, which boosts safety when
the vehicle is stationary. It activates warnings if a vehicle or
cyclist is approaching the BMW X2 at speed and there is a risk of
collision on either side of the vehicle.<br />
  <br />
  <strong>Automated Level 2 driving: Driving Assistant Plus</strong>
<br />The optional Driving Assistant Plus offers targeted improvement
of comfort and safety on long-distance journeys. This camera- and
radar-based system includes the Steering and Lane Control Assistant as
well as Active Cruise Control with Stop&Go function, which can be
used at up to 112mph.<br />
<br />The automatic Speed Limit Assist and route speed control
functions available when using Active Cruise Control add to the car’s
Level 2 automated driving capabilities, as defined by SAE
international standard J3016. Speed limits along the route detected
either by the Speed Limit Info system or by using data from the
navigation system can be anticipated in advance with the help of
automatic Speed Limit Assist. Meanwhile, the route speed control
function also looks ahead to reduce the car’s speed as appropriate
when approaching a corner, roundabout, junction, exit or entering
  built-up areas.<br />
  <br />
<strong>The complete comfort and safety package: Driving Assistant Professional</strong>
<br />If the Driving Assistant Professional option is specified, both
the Steering and Lane Control Assistant and Active Cruise Control will
be available to use at speeds up to 130mph. On motorways, the Steering
and Lane Control Assistant can also help the driver to guide the car
in situations where the lane narrows. The Active Navigation function
detects when the vehicle needs to change lane in order to take a
motorway exit and keep to the calculated route, and sets up the lane change.<br />
<br />The package of Driving Assistant Professional functions
additionally includes Road Priority Warning, Wrong-way Warning, Front
Crossing Traffic Warning, the Emergency Stop Assistant and the
Emergency Lane Assistant (can be used in selected European countries).
Assisted View in the instrument cluster gives the driver an overview
of the activated systems and their functionality.<br />
  <br />
<strong>Included as standard: Parking Assistant, Reversing Assist
    Camera, Reversing Assistant</strong>
<br />Drivers of the new BMW X2 also benefit from effective assistance
when parking and manoeuvring thanks to standard-fit technology such as
Active Park Distance Control (PDC) with sensors at the front and rear.
Also standard are a Reversing Assist Camera, the Reversing Assistant
and the latest version of the Parking Assistant.<br />
<br />The optional Parking Assistant Plus, which comes as part of the
Tech Package Plus, uses camera images to show the view to either the
front or rear – depending on the selected gear – in the control
display. The Surround View function including Top View, Panorama View
and 3D View creates a 360-degree image of the vehicle and its
surroundings from various angles, which can also be seen in the
control display. Meanwhile, the Remote 3D View function calls up a
live image of their vehicle and its immediate vicinity on their smartphone.<br />
<br />The BMW Drive Recorder, another Parking Assistant Plus feature,
uses the driver assistance systems’ cameras to record video images all
around the vehicle to be stored and later played back on the control
display when the vehicle is stationary or exported via the USB interface.<br />
  <br />
<strong>Extended functionality for the BMW Maps navigation system</strong>
<br />The cloud-based BMW Maps navigation system forms part of the BMW
Live Cockpit Plus fitted as standard in the new BMW X2. Besides
offering a simplified method of destination entry, BMW Maps enables
fast route calculation, carried out dynamically and based on precise
  real-time traffic data.<br />
<br />Opting for BMW Live Cockpit Professional, as part of the Tech
Package Plus, also adds the Augmented View function to the navigation
map, which shows a live video stream from the driver’s perspective on
the control display and augments it with supplementary information to
  match the context.<br />
<br />BMW Digital Premium also enhances the functionality of BMW Maps,
with real-time traffic information (RTTI) with colour coding to show
how freely traffic is flowing, even if route guidance isn’t activated.
It also offers 3D visualisation of buildings and surrounding elements
in the map view and extended information on parking facilities. In
addition, the driver is proactively notified of the current traffic
situation and estimated time of arrival when setting out for
destinations they drive to regularly.<br />
  <br />
<strong>Charging-optimised route guidance for the BMW iX2</strong>
<br />In the BMW iX2, the cloud-based BMW Maps navigation system will
calculate a charging-optimised route as soon as the destination has
been entered if the vehicle’s current range is insufficient. The
charging stops are planned so that the destination is reached as
quickly as possible. It is possible to adjust the driver’s preferred
minimum charge level for when the vehicle reaches each stop. The
system can give preference to charging stations operated by selected
  providers at the driver’s request.<br />
<br />Details can also be provided for charging station stops en
route. Current station availability, supported connector types and
payment options are listed, along with nearby sanitary or catering
facilities. The expected duration of the stop and the resulting cost
can also be shown in advance.<br />
<br />The closer the vehicle gets to a scheduled stop, the more
frequently the availability of the charging point is checked so that
an alternative route can be calculated in good time if necessary. The
MAX RANGE function can be used in the event a planned charger is unavailable.<br />
<br />If the navigation system’s route guidance has planned a stop at
a DC charging point, the BMW iX2’s battery is pre-heated as the car
approaches to ensure power is taken on board as efficiently as
possible. Pre-conditioning can also be initiated manually when route
  guidance is not activated.<br />
  <br />
<strong>Over-the-air Remote Software Upgrades and BMW ConnectedDrive Upgrades</strong>
<br />The BMW Group has the world’s largest fully over-the-air
upgradeable vehicle fleet, with more than five million such vehicles
on the road. The Remote Software Upgrades function keeps the new BMW
X2 up to date with the likes of free quality and functional
improvements and even extra features.<br />
<br />With BMW ConnectedDrive Upgrades, customers can enjoy a free
one-month trial of selected functions, after which they are able to
add them for a specific period of time. The new BMW X2 includes High
Beam Assistant in the UK (availability depends on vehicle model,
equipment and vehicle status). The new BMW Digital Premium offering
can also be obtained from the BMW ConnectedDrive Store for the new BMW X2.<br />
  <br />
<strong>Natural dialogue with the BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant</strong>
<br />The upgraded BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant allows naturally
formulated spoken instructions to be used to adjust the air
conditioning, for instance. Two different visualisations are available
for the BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant in conjunction with BMW
  Digital Premium.<br />
<br />The digital companion is capable of recognising user behaviour
and proactively making suggestions to the driver on how to use the
vehicle. The BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant suggests example
commands and unused functions, which can be found in the Personal
  Assistant widget.<br />
  <br />
<strong>Personalisation using the BMW ID and My BMW App</strong>
<br />New BMW X2 customers benefit from increasingly automated
personalisation of the user experience based on their BMW ID. Their
profile is imported into the vehicle once they have signed in using a
QR code. Personal settings are loaded, while the vehicle is seamlessly
added to the My BMW App.<br />
<br />The My BMW App acts as a universal digital interface that
provides information on the vehicle’s status, charging status and
remaining range at any time. It enables remote operation of functions
such as vehicle locating, locking and unlocking the doors or
monitoring the car’s immediate vicinity. The ability to manage the
car’s servicing and maintenance requirements is another feature of the
  My BMW App.<br />
<br />The My Trips feature including Efficiency Trainer provides the
user with data on their smartphone for distances travelled,
consumption and average speed, and offers driving helpful tips. The My
BMW App is also available for the Apple Watch with a selected range of functions.<br />
  <br />
<strong>Proactive Care: new service pledge marked by
digitalisation<br /></strong>With Proactive Care, BMW is creating a
new platform for communicating with customers when servicing is
required. The focus is on the ability to detect the vehicle’s
servicing requirements using artificial intelligence and offer
solutions to the customer without them having to take action.<br />
<br />From Condition Based Servicing to digital tyre diagnostics, from
Battery Guard to accident detection as part of the automatic emergency
call feature, the new BMW X2 is able to identify servicing
requirements in many different ways and report them to BMW in line
  with the customer’s preferences.<br />
  <br />
  <strong>BMW Digital Key Plus as a full-function vehicle key</strong>
<br />The Comfort Access option also includes the BMW Digital Key
Plus. This enables customers to lock and unlock their BMW X2 with a
compatible smartphone running iOS or Android or an Apple Watch,
dispensing with the need for a conventional car key. To unlock and
lock the vehicle, the user simply has to approach it and move away
again, without needing to take their smartphone out of their pocket.<br />
<br />The BMW Digital Key Plus can be set up using the My BMW App. The
car owner can also share it – and therefore access to the vehicle –
with up to five other users.<br />
  <br />
<strong>Interior camera enables image recording and checking the car
remotely via the My BMW App</strong>
<br />The cars’ occupants can use an overhead interior camera to take
photos and record videos, complete with sound, both when stationary
and while driving. Pictures and recordings can be transferred to any
smartphone connected to the car via WiFi by simply scanning a QR code
  in the control display.<br />
<br />Customers can use the My BMW App’s remote function to check
inside the car to see whether bags or other items have been left
there. The interior camera is also activated by the anti-theft
recorder. On models fitted with Parking Assistant Plus, footage from
the exterior cameras is also provided.<br />
  <br />
<strong>Multi Contract Plug & Charge: contactless authentication
    with access to multiple contracts</strong>
<br />The BMW iX2 is equipped to use the Plug & Charge function.
This makes charging at compatible public charging stations even more
straightforward, as digital authentication via app or charging card is
no longer required. Instead, the vehicle authenticates itself through
  a technical interface (ISO15118-2).<br />
  <br />The Plug & Charge function’s multi-contract option is a
pioneering feature that is still unique on the market. Customers can
digitally store up to five individual Plug & Charge-enabled
vehicle electricity contracts from different suppliers. When the
vehicle is connected to the charging point, as well as electricity
passing through the charging cable, the necessary contract data is
  also transmitted.<br />
  <br />
<strong>BMW Charging with fixed kWh prices for public
charging<br /></strong>The key benefit of the BMW Charging offering is
the attractive kWh prices offered for AC and DC charging in Europe
under the Active tariff, which are set for each country and remain the
same regardless of the operator or the price shown. The high-power
charging network run by the BMW Group’s joint venture IONITY – which
is compatible with the Plug & Charge functionality – also forms
part of the BMW Charging network. The basic monthly fee for the BMW
Charging Active tariff, the IONITY Plus package and the BP Pulse
package is waived for BMW iX2 drivers for the first 12 months.<br />
  <br />
<strong>Fully electric BMW iX2 has an exemplary carbon
  footprint<br /></strong>The footprint of the BMW iX2 xDrive30 is
around 30 per cent lower (provisional figure) than that of the new BMW
X2 sDrive20i when charged using the current EU electricity mix. If
renewable power is used for charging, its footprint is around 60 per
  cent lower (provisional figure).<br />
<br />The design principle of the electric motors avoids the need to
use rare-earth metals. In addition, the BMW Group purchases the cobalt
and lithium required for the high-voltage batteries itself and then
supplies them to the firms who make the battery cells.<br />
<br />An extended TÜV-certified life cycle assessment is being carried
out for the new BMW X2 and BMW iX2 and will be ready by the start of
  production in November 2023.<br />
  <br />
<strong>Use of secondary materials and renewable raw materials</strong>
<br />Among the sustainability goals set out by the BMW Group is the
increased use of secondary raw materials in vehicle production. The
company is pursuing the vision of a circular economy with the aim of
reducing the input of primary materials as well as the potentially
environmentally harmful mining of raw materials and their energy- and
carbon-intensive processing. The ‘secondary first’ approach is
intended to gradually increase the proportion of secondary raw
  materials to 50 per cent.<br />
  <br />
<strong>Electricity from renewable resources for component and vehicle manufacture</strong>
<br />CO2 emissions from vehicle production have been
lowered by over 70 per cent since 2006. All plants in the BMW Group’s
production network have been operating a net carbon-neutral policy
  since 2021.<br />
<br />The new BMW X2 will additionally benefit from the switch to cast
aluminium wheels, which will be manufactured entirely using green
electricity from 2024. Wheels have hitherto accounted for some five
per cent of the CO2 emissions produced in the supply chain.
This figure will be more than halved by the switch to more sustainable
  production using green electricity.<br />
  <br />
<strong>Sustainably produced Frozen paint finishes made from biomass</strong>
<br />The BMW Group is the first automotive manufacturer worldwide to
use matt paints made from biomass instead of crude oil at its European
plants. Renewable raw materials such as bio-waste replace the organic
components and serve as the starting material for these “biomass
balance” paints. They are chemically identical to their fossil
equivalents and meet the same quality standards.<br />
  <br />
  <strong>Ends<br />
    <br /></strong>
*All figures relating to electricity consumption, fuel
consumption and emissions may vary depending on the wheel/tyre size
and items of optional equipment selected.
  **Electronically limited.
  <br />
<br />Fuel consumption, CO2 emission figures and power consumption
were measured using the methods required according to Regulation VO
(EC) 2007/715 as amended. The figures are calculated using a vehicle
fitted with basic equipment in Germany, the ranges stated take into
account differences in selected wheel and tyre sizes as well as the
optional equipment. They may change during configuration. <br />

extras are set to further increase the appeal and diversity of the BMW
product range from spring 2024. The BMW iX2 fully electric model will
be available from March 2024 with an additional drive system variant.
The drive system offering for the BMW XM has also been expanded. The
innovative Highway Assistant will bring increased comfort levels over
longer journeys to more of the brand’s model series. And additional
exterior paint finishes will be offered for the BMW 5 Series Saloon,
BMW X2 and BMW iX2. Customers will also be able to order the business
saloon with new variants of the BMW Individual Merino leather trim.<br />
<br />Attractive new features will also be introduced in spring 2024
in the area of digital services. These include easier use of the voice
assistant Siri (as part of the integration of the Apple iPhone into
cars specified with BMW Operating System 9), and the optimised display
of ratings for charging stations for fully electric and plug-in hybrid
BMW models. The steady expansion of the range of functions for the My
  BMW App also continues.<br />
  <br />
  <strong>New entry-level variant for the BMW iX2.<br /></strong>BMW’s
current model offensive in the area of electric mobility also brings
additional variety to the premium compact segment. A new entry-level
variant of the fully electric BMW iX2 will go on sale in March 2024.
The new BMW iX2 eDrive20 (electric power consumption, combined: 16.9 –
15.3 kWh/62 miles in the WLTP cycle) takes a particularly economical
route to delivering locally emission-free driving pleasure in a
compact Sports Activity Coupé (SAC). Powered by a 204 hp electric
motor at the front axle, it sprints from 0 to 62 mph in 8.6 seconds
and posts a range of 273 – 297 miles in the WLTP cycle. Its top speed
  is limited to 106 mph.<br />
  <br />The high-voltage battery in the new BMW iX2 eDrive20 serves up
64.78 kWh of usable energy and can be charged from AC sources at 11 kW
as standard and up to 22 kW as an option. DC charging is possible at
up to 130 kW. Thanks to extremely efficient charging software and
predictive heat management capability, brief stops are enough to
significantly increase the battery charge. In ten minutes hooked up to
a fast-charging station, the BMW iX2 eDrive20 can take on sufficient
energy to boost its range by 75 miles. The BMW iX2 eDrive20 is also
equipped for using the Plug & Charge Multi Contract function as standard.<br />
<br />From March 2024, all model variants of the new BMW X2 and new
BMW iX2 will also be available with an expanded range of exterior
paint finishes. Frozen Black metallic is a new addition to the selection.<br />
  <br />
<strong>BMW XM 50e: high performance with maximum
efficiency.<br /></strong>As the latest offshoot of the first ever
electrified high-performance model from BMW M GmbH, the new BMW XM 50e
(fuel consumption, combined: 166.2 – 217.3 mpg; electric power
  consumption, combined: 32.2 – 31.5 kWh/62 miles; CO2 emissions,
combined: 37 – 30 g/km in the WLTP cycle) blends signature M dynamism,
extrovert design and progressive interior luxury with maximum
efficiency. Its M HYBRID drive system is composed of a six-cylinder
in-line petrol engine and an electric motor integrated, together with
its power electronics, into the eight-speed Steptronic Sport
transmission. This combination produces system output of 476 hp
(developed by the combination of the combustion engine with up to 313
hp and the electric motor with up to 197 hp) and maximum system torque
of 700 Nm / 516 lb-ft (developed by the combination of the combustion
engine with up to 450 Nm / 332 lb-ft and the electric motor with up to
  280 Nm / 206 lb-ft).<br />
<br />The latest version of the 3.0-litre combustion engine fitted in
the BMW XM 50e owes its enhanced performance characteristics among
other things to the Miller combustion cycle, dual injection, an
exhaust manifold integrated into the cylinder head and VANOS variable
camshaft timing, which now works electrically. The electric motor has
a pre-gearing stage patented by BMW, which allows the effective torque
at the transmission input for the motor to be increased to 450 Nm (332
lb-ft). The top speed of the high-performance model – which is also
equipped with the all-wheel-drive system M xDrive – is an
electronically limited to 155 mph. Thanks to an electric range of 48 –
52 miles in the WLTP cycle, the BMW XM 50e can cover much of its
everyday mileage – e.g. in urban centres – with zero local emissions.
And it can also be driven on electric power alone at speeds of up to
  87 mph.<br />
<br />The most efficient version of the new M HYBRID system comes
together with the extraordinary presence of the unmistakable
high-performance model in the Sports Activity Vehicle segment. The
model-specific design features of the new variant include the black
accent band along the sides of the car, plus a surround for the BMW
kidney grille and trim detailing for the rear diffuser (both in
Pearl-effect Chrome), exhaust tailpipe trim in Black high-gloss and
silver-coloured bordering for the model badge. Customers wishing to
bring an extra personal touch to the interior of their new BMW XM 50e
  – which also offers a unique combination of modern sports car flair
and extravagant luxury with its M-specific cockpit, M multifunction
seats, sculptural headliner and M Lounge in the rear compartment – can
specify features including exclusive Vintage leather for the upper
section of the instrument panel and door trim panels.<br />
  <br />
<strong>Highway Assistant: innovative Level 2 functionality for more
models.<br /></strong>Relaxed travel over long distances and an
impressive experience of semi-automated driving are the specialities
of the Highway Assistant. Launched initially in Germany, the United
States and Canada, this package made its debut in the new BMW 5 Series
Saloon and is now also available for other current BMW models in
  available markets.</p>
<p>As an additional function of the Steering and Lane Control Assistant
included in the optional Driving Assistant Professional, the Highway
Assistant takes over the vehicle’s speed control, distance control and
steering on motorways with structurally separated carriageways when
travelling at up to 84 mph. The driver can take their hands off the
steering wheel and put them in a comfortable position, provided they
continue to pay attention to what is happening on the road and are
able to take over the steering again at any time. This Level 2 – as
determined by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) –
semi-automated driving function will also be available for the BMW 7
Series, BMW iX, BMW XM, BMW X5, BMW X6 and BMW X7 from spring 2024.<br />
<br />The Active Lane Change Assistant with eye confirmation included
as part of the new Highway Assistant adds another layer to the
semi-automated driving experience. As soon as the traffic situation
permits, it is capable of performing the necessary steering movements
for an overtaking manoeuvre, for example, and adjusting the vehicle’s
speed as required. Plus, for the first time, the driver is able to
initiate a lane change suggested by this system by simply looking in
the exterior mirror to confirm it.<br />
  <br />
<strong>New digital services, My BMW App with additional
functions.<br /></strong>Among the digital services available for the
first time from spring 2024 is the extended smartphone integration for
vehicles equipped with BMW Operating System 9. This enables the Siri
voice assistant for the Apple iPhone to be activated directly by voice
command and without needing to also press the push-to-talk button.
Elsewhere, the cloud-based navigation system BMW Maps now boasts
improved display of information on charging stations. The available
images and ratings are shown both in the list of search results and in
the detailed display. The charging station ratings will now be shown
clearly on a scale of zero to five stars.<br />
<br />As a universal digital interface for data exchange between the
customer and their car, the My BMW App offers an ever-expanding number
of functions. From spring 2024, Comfort Access with the BMW Digital
Key Plus will be integrated into the My BMW App in vehicles equipped
with BMW Operating System 8, 8.5 or 9. In addition, the map view for
selecting navigation destinations imported into the vehicle has been
newly designed. This also improves the search function and the
visibility of the most relevant content. Map and routing functions
will in future be proposed based on current vehicle or user contexts.<br />
<br />Finally, the new E-mobility Analysis function will also be added
to the My Trips menu item in the My BMW App. Based on the customer’s
driving behaviour, this function proposes the BMW model with
all-electric drive system most suited to them. These recommendations
are intended to help spark interest among users of combustion-engined
vehicles in switching to an electric vehicle.</p>

out a distinctive place for itself in the BMW model family. Now, BMW
UK is introducing the M Mesh Edition which features exclusive content
  and new colour combinations.<br />
<br />The new M Mesh Edition builds on the style already offered by
the M Sport X model and gives the BMW X2 an even more exclusive and
distinctive appearance. The most prominent enhancement is the BMW M
mesh kidney grille in high-gloss black. Like the grille on the BMW X2
  M35i (fuel consumption combined: 36.2 – 36.7 mpg; CO2 emissions
  combined: 178 – 176 g/km*), it has a pronounced three-dimensional mesh
  inspired by racing cars.<br />
<br />The BMW X2 M Mesh Edition features exclusive inserts in the
bumper trim, prominent cladding on the side skirts and door and the
wheel arch trim in a new signature colour Frozen Black-Brown. The
Edition comes as standard with a unique 19” Bi-colour Aerodynamic
alloy wheel with black accents which can be upgraded to a 20”
  Bi-colour alloy wheel.<br />
<br />BMW Individual High-gloss Shadow Line with extended features
also comes as standard. As well as the High-gloss Black window and
exterior mirror surrounds, the mirror base, mirror triangle, B-pillar
trim and trim surround on the C-pillars, this package also includes
the surround for the M mesh kidney grille, a ring around the BMW badge
on the boot lid and exhaust tailpipe finishers in Black Chrome.<br />
<br />The edition comes with X2 logo projection from the exterior
mirror on the driver’s side as standard and also includes door handle
lighting, ground lighting, exterior mirror lighting and door entry light.<br />
  <br />
<strong>LED headlights with cornering lights frame the front-end
design. <br /></strong>The updated front end catches the eye with
the standard LED headlights and the absence of the circular front fog
lights featured previously brings extra distinction to the design. In
adverse weather conditions and poor visibility, activation of the
cornering light provides optimal illumination of the road’s edge.<br />
  <br />
<strong>Adaptive LED headlights with matrix high-beam function as an
    option. <br /></strong>Adaptive LED Headlights, including a
four-segment matrix function for high beam, are also available for
this edition as an optional extra. These headlights help increase
visibility and avoiding dazzling other road users. High beam is split
into several LED segments, which activate and deactivate independently
to adapt road illumination to the traffic situation at hand.<br />
  <br />
  <strong>Sporty interior. <br /></strong>Exclusive elements of this
edition are also echoed in the interior of the vehicle with M seats
featuring integral headrests in black Dakota Leather. Contrast
stitching in Grey completes the look and can be found on the
instrument panel, centre console and floor mats. The BMW X2 M Mesh
Edition also brings special entry sills with “Edition” inscription.
The optional panoramic roof, which floods the cabin with light, can be
tilted and opened like a conventional sunroof.<br />
<br />The M leather steering wheel comes as standard, as does a car
key featuring an exclusive M identifier. Cars with a manual gearbox
also have a gearshift lever with M badging. The interior trim strips
are in Aluminium Hexagon Anthracite, the BMW Individual headliner in Anthracite.<br />
  <br />The boot has a capacity of 470 litres (BMW X2 xDrive25e: 410 litres).<br />
  <br />
<strong>Power of Choice: customers can take their pick from seven
engines</strong>.<br />Customers can take their pick from three
different types of drive system for the BMW X2 M Mesh Edition. The
Sports Activity Coupé (SAC) is available with three efficient diesel
engines, three petrol units and a plug-in hybrid drive system, all of
which meet the Euro 6d emissions standard. The BMW X2 also offers
customers a choice of front-wheel or all-wheel drive and manual or
automatic transmission. Depending on the drive system selected,
customers can order their car with sDrive front-wheel drive or BMW
xDrive intelligent all-wheel drive, a manual gearbox or automatic
  Steptronic transmission<br />
  <br />
<strong>Plug-in hybrid drive system in the BMW X2 xDrive25e offers
electric range of up to 35 miles*.</strong>
<br />The plug-in hybrid powertrain recently introduced for this model
series gives the BMW X2 M Mesh Edition remarkably efficient
performance and the ability to drive with zero local emissions. A
highly efficient electric motor, with an output of 95 hp and torque of
165 Nm are relayed to the rear wheels via a single-speed transmission
and teams up with a 1.5-litre petrol engine generating 125 hp and peak
torque of 220 Nm. The engine’s power is directed to the front wheels
  through a six-speed Steptronic transmission.<br />
<br />The resulting hybrid all-wheel drive system has a combined
system output of 220 hp and overall torque of 385 Nm to make the BMW
X2 xDrive25e exceptionally agile and able to deliver 0 to 62 mph in
  6.8 seconds.<br />
  <br />The high-voltage battery’s gross energy capacity of 10 kWh
translates into an all-electric range of up to 35 miles* in
the statutory WLTP test cycle. When the new BMW X2 xDrive25e is
driving on the electric motor’s power alone (in MAX eDrive mode), the
top speed is 84 mph but with the engine and electric motor working
together, the maximum speed increases to 121 mph.<br />
  <br />
  <strong>Maximum Connectivity</strong>
<br />The BMW X2 M Mesh Edition boasts intuitive operation and
intelligent connectivity, allowing the driver to focus their attention
entirely on driving. The ID6 display and operating system offers three
different ways of operating individual vehicle and navigation
functions: using the iDrive Controller, the Control Display’s
touchscreen functionality or a voice control system capable of
understanding naturally formulated sentences. The hands-free facility
with Bluetooth interface and DAB digital radio are included as standard.<br />
<br />The standard BMW Navigation system features an 8.8-inch Control
Display with touchscreen functionality, along with a 5.7-inch
information display in the instrument cluster and Real Time Traffic
Information. Upgrading to BMW Navigation Plus brings an even larger
10.25-inch Control Display as well as BMW Head-Up Display, which
projects important driving information and navigation/assistance
system readouts onto the windscreen, where they appear in high
resolution in the driver’s field of view. <br />
<br />Smartphone integration via Apple CarPlay® as standard for
lifetime allows selected iPhone functions to be used wirelessly and
easily via the vehicle’s Control Display. The optional telephony with
wireless charging function meanwhile, allows inductive charging of
compatible smartphones which can also be hooked up with the car’s
  external antenna.<br />
<br />The BMW X2 M Mesh Edition is available to order from BMW
retailers now from £34,510 RRP with first customer deliveries in March 2021.<br />
  <br />
  <strong>Ends<br /></strong>
<br />Fuel consumption, CO2 emission figures and power consumption
were measured using the methods required according to Regulation VO
(EC) 2007/715 as amended. The figures are calculated using a vehicle
fitted with basic equipment in Germany, the ranges stated take into
account differences in selected wheel and tyre sizes as well as the
optional equipment. They may change during configuration.<br />
<br />The details marked * have already been calculated based on the
new WLTP test cycle and adapted to NEDC for comparison purposes. In
these vehicles, different figures than those published here may apply
for the assessment of taxes and other vehicle-related duties which are
  (also) based on CO2 emissions.<br />

<em>**Confirmed UK specification, performance and pricing for the X2
xDrive25e to follow later in 2020.</em></p>
<p> </p>
<p>A highly efficient electric drive and a latest-generation lithium-ion
battery enable an electrically powered range of up to 35 miles in the
two new plug-in hybrid models. With average fuel consumption of 134.5
  – 148.7 mpg* and CO2 emissions between 43 and 48 grams per kilometre*,
both models set a benchmark within their competitive fields. The
hybrid-specific all-wheel drive system delivers fast and precise
distribution of power between the front and rear wheels, ensuring a
  high level of driving agility.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>The plug-in hybrid system of the new BMW X1 xDrive 25e and the new
  BMW X2 xDrive25e consists of a 1.5 litre 3-cylinder petrol engine with
BMW TwinPower Turbo Technology and an electric drive specially
developed for this model, derived from the BMW Group eDrive modular
technology. The petrol engine mobilises a peak output of 125hp and a
maximum torque of 220Nm. It transfers its power to a 6-speed
Steptronic transmission and drives the front wheels. The electric
motor generates an output of 95hp and delivers 165Nm of torque to the
rear wheels via a single-speed transmission. This makes for a hybrid
specific all-wheel drive, which gives these models a unique level of
agility in their class. The electric motor’s highly responsive power
delivery provides maximum torque spontaneously from standstill,
enabling the driver to react extremely quickly to changing driving
conditions. In addition, the position of the electric motor above the
rear axle contributes to the balanced axle load distribution. The
intelligently controlled interaction between the two power units
provide maximum driving stability, ride comfort and dynamic response.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>Together, the combustion engine and electric motor produce a system
output of 220 hp. The maximum system torque of both drive units is
  385Nm. The new BMW X1 xDrive25e accelerates from 0 to 63mph in 6.9
seconds, whilst the BMW X2 xDrive25e does the same in 6.8 seconds. In
addition, the electric boost provided by the drive system ensures
intense sporty flair when required. The top speed of the new BMW X1
  xDrive25e is 120 mph, and 121mph for the BMW X2 xDrive25e.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>With the very latest high-voltage battery cell technology, the new
BMW X1 xDrive25e and the new BMW X2 xDrive25e possess generous
reserves of electrical energy enabling the driver to conduct most of
their everyday travel locally emissions-free. The latest-generation
lithium-ion battery has a gross energy content of 10 kWh. This allows
for an electrically powered range of between 33 and 35 miles in both
  the BMW X1 xDrive25e and BMW X2 xDrive25e. The high-voltage battery
can be charged at conventional household sockets using the
standard-equipment charging cable. An empty battery can be fully
charged in around five hours in this way. It only takes 3.8 hours for
the battery to reach 80 percent of its total capacity. Using a BMW i
Wallbox, the relevant charging operation from 0 to 100 percent takes
less than 3.2 hours. Eighty percent of total capacity is already
reached after 2.4 hours. The charging socket is located under a
separate flap on the front left side wall of the car.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>The driver can use the eDrive button on the centre console to
influence the drive system’s operating mode. In the AUTO eDRIVE
standard setting, the intelligent drive system ensures optimum
interaction between the two power units in all driving situations.
Navigation data is also used to manage the plug-in hybrid system to
increase the efficiency as well as driving pleasure. When navigation
guidance is activated, the anticipatory energy management can also
take into account the route profile for controlling the drive system.
The MAX eDrive mode can be activated for maximum use of the electric
drive.  In this mode, the new BMW X1 xDrive25e and the new BMW X2
xDrive25e reach a top speed of 84 mph. In addition there is also the
SAVE BATTERY mode which enables the driver to maintain the charging
state of the high-voltage battery while driving or to increase it by
means of recuperation. Using this mode, battery capacity can be saved
for later use, for example when arriving at your destination in purely
  electric mode.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>The new BMW X1 xDrive25e and the new BMW X2 xDrive25e feature
acoustic pedestrian protection as standard. When driving electrically
at speeds of up to 19 mph, an unmistakable sound designed specifically
for electrified BMW models is generated to alert other road users to
the approaching car without impairing the acoustic comfort of the
  vehicle occupants.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>The standard equipment of the two compact BMW X models with plug-in
hybrid drive also includes 17-inch light alloy wheels, 2-zone
automatic air conditioning as well Sports Seats and LED headlights in
the UK market. The interior can be pre-conditioned remotely via BMW
Connected using a smartphone. The new BMW X1 xDrive25e is available in
Sport Line, xLine and M Sport in the UK. Virtually all options
available on the conventionally powered BMW X1 are available for the
  plug-in hybrid models.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>The positioning of the high-voltage battery underneath the rear seats
leads to a very low centre of gravity, which optimises the agility of
the BMW X1 xDrive25e and the new BMW X2 xDrive25e. In the new BMW X1
xDrive25e luggage compartment capacity is 450 litres, with standard
40:20:40 split folding backrests enabling the capacity to be increased
to 1,470 litres. A trailer tow hitch with detachable ball is
optionally available for the new BMW X1 xDrive25e, with a maximum
  trailer load of 750 kilograms.</p>
<p>
<br />With the extension of the range in the premium compact segment
the BMW Group’s model offensive is gaining further momentum in the
area of plug-in hybrid models. The current selection comprises the
MINI Countryman Plug-in Hybrid, the BMW 225xe Active Tourer, BMW 3
  Series, BMW 5 Series, BMW 7 Series, BMW X3 xDrive30e and BMW X5 xDrive45e.<br />
  <br /></p>
<p>As a pioneer in electric mobility, BMW intends to have more than one
million vehicles with electrified drive on the road by the end of
2021, by which point 25 percent of the vehicles sold by the BMW Group
in Europe are expected to feature an electric drive. By 2025 this
figure is scheduled to reach 33 percent and 50 percent by 2030. The
BMW Group plans to extend its portfolio to 25 electrified vehicles by 2023.</p>
<p> </p>

<br />*Fuel consumption, CO2 emission figures and power consumption
were measured using the methods required according to Regulation VO
(EC) 2007/715 as amended. The figures are calculated using a vehicle
fitted with basic equipment in Germany, the ranges stated take into
account differences in selected wheel and tyre sizes as well as the
optional equipment. They may change during configuration.</p>
<p>The details marked * have already been calculated based on the new
WLTP test cycle and adapted to NEDC for comparison purposes. In these
vehicles, different figures than those published here may apply for
the assessment of taxes and other vehicle-related duties which are
  (also) based on CO2 emissions.</p>
<p>For further details of the official fuel consumption figures and
official specific CO2emissions of new cars, please refer to the
"Manual on fuel consumption, CO2 emissions and power consumption
of new cars", available at sales outlets, from Deutsche Automobil

headquarters in Germany. No adaptations have been made to cater for
  the UK market.<strong>
    <br />
    <br /></strong>
<strong>Munich.</strong> Sportiness coupled with a polarising
appearance – based on this formula, the new BMW X2 has inspired above
all a young and modern target group following its premiere in March
2018. With its extroverted design, the BMW X2 interprets the character
of a premium SAC (Sports Activity Coupes) in an entirely new way
  within the compact segment.  <strong>
    <br /></strong></p>
<p>
<strong>The top-of-the-range version of the BMW X2 is the M
    Performance automobile. </strong></p>
<p>BMW is now presenting the new top model of the X2 series. The wide
BMW double kidney grille of new BMW X2 M35i (combined fuel consumption
  8.4-8.1 l/100 km; combined CO2 emissions: 191-185 g/km)*, features a
surround in Cerium Grey for visual differentiation at first glance.
Likewise, the surrounds of the air cooling inlets and the exterior
mirror caps are finished in Cerium Grey. The rear of the X2 M35i is
characterised by the standard M rear spoiler and two specially
designed exhaust tailpipes, which also come in Cerium Grey.</p>
<p>
  <a name="_Hlk521503616"></a><strong>BMW’s most powerful 2-litre
    TwinPower Turbo engine. </strong></p>
<p>The new BMW X2 M35i featuring a 225 kW (306 hp) 4-cylinder
turbocharged petrol engine definitely sets new benchmarks above the
previous versions. As the letter M in the type designation clearly
signalises, the new X2 M35i possesses the impressive dynamic handling
qualities of an M Performance automobile. Behind this is yet again the
BMW M GmbH, whose racing know-how flows into the development of all
components. The 2-litre TwinPower Turbo engine concealed under an M
Performance cover is the very first M Performance four-cylinder engine
and at the same time BMW’s most powerful version. It delivers a
fascinating maximum power output of 225 kW (306 hp). Maximum torque is
an extremely powerful 450 Newton metres. To ensure that this sheer
power is securely transferred to the tarmac, the X2 M35i comes as
standard with intelligent four-wheel drive technology xDrive in
conjunction with the 8-speed Steptronic transmission including Launch
Control. The automatic transmission features specific M Performance
tuning. Equipped in this way, the BMW X2 M35i is able to accelerate
from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.9 seconds*. The necessary thermal
stability of the engine is now ensured by a redesigned cooling system.</p>
<p>
  <strong>Outstanding driving dynamics thanks to M-specific tuning</strong>.</p>
<p>Being a typical M Performance automobile, the BMW X2 M35i features,
in addition to a powerful engine, also a M Sport suspension system
that has been specifically tuned and adapted to match the car’s sporty
character. A adaptive suspension offering two different manually
adjustable modes and combining maximised sportiness and driving
comfort is also optionally available.  A particularly special
technical highlight – and also a premiere for an M Performance
automobile – is the M Sport Differential installed in the front axle
gear. During highly dynamic driving manoeuvres, this locking
differential most effectively reduces possible traction losses on the
front wheels. In addition, the braking system has been upgraded for
use on the X2 M35i. The M Sport braking system with fixed callipers in
Dark Blue metallic and 18-inch steel discs at the front (17-inch at
the rear) guarantees consistently short braking distances even under
the highest loads. With that, however, the M know-how is still far
from being exhausted. Steering and suspension have also both been
adapted to match the performance of the drive system. For instance,
thanks to a special setup, the M sports steering conveys to the driver
an impressively direct and precise steering feel. Furthermore, the X2
M35i comes as standard with the M Sport suspension with a stiffer
spring and damper setting as well as vehicle lowering. The rear axle
construction has been redesigned. A suspension with an adaptive spring
and damper combination offering two different manually adjustable
  modes is also optionally available.</p>
<p>
<strong>Upgraded exterior design thanks to M Performance typical
    elements in Cerium Crey.</strong></p>
<p>The sporty aspiration of the X2 M35i, which is the result of its
inner qualities, is reflected in an exciting exterior design with
numerous typical M Performance Automobile elements finished in Cerium
Grey and based on the X2 M Sport Package. This begins at the front
with full HD technology for the main headlights and fog lights and
continues with the double kidney grille in Cerium Grey and the newly
designed side air intakes of the same colour at the front for best
possible cooling of brakes and engine. The exterior mirrors have been
upgraded by special caps, likewise in Cerium Grey. At the rear, the X2
M35i boasts a distinctive M rear spoiler and demonstrates its
fascinating sovereignty with an M Sport exhaust system with two
tailpipes (each 100 mm in diameter). Thanks to the adapted silencer
system, the exhaust system produces a particularly sporty sound
spectrum. 19-inch M Sport light alloy wheels in 715M styling
(optional: 20-inch M Sport light alloy wheels in 721M styling and in
Cerium Grey bicolour) impressively round off the exterior design
  features.  </p>
<p>
<strong>For the first time Exclusive M sports seats ensure perfect
    seating comfort and lateral support.</strong></p>
<p>An exceptionally sporty look also dominates the interior. As with the
exterior design, the basis is again the M Sport Package. Moreover, the
X2 M35i features as standard an M Sport leather steering wheel with
shift paddles and door entry trims at the front bearing the lettering
“M35i”. The optional M sports seats at the front are a novelty. They
offer not only perfect lateral support for both driver and front
passenger in sharp bends, but also the highest level of comfort and
safety through integrated headrests. The M sports seats are available
in the following three different designs:  FabricTrigon/Alcantara
combination in black with blue accents, Leather Dakota Magmared,
perforated with black accents and Leather Dakota black perforated.
Matching seatbelts in an M design are also on offer.</p>
<p>
  <strong>Trend-setting digital competence for state-of-the-art technologies.</strong></p>
<p>In addition to the uncompromisingly sporty orientation of both drive
system and design, the BMW X2 M35i also demonstrates BMW’s
trend-setting digital competence in the areas of operation and
networking. For instance, the full-colour BMW Head-Up Display is among
the optionally available features. It offers a display range that is
unprecedented in this vehicle segment. If desired, the latest
generation of BMW ConnectedDrive and the new BMW Connected App can be
fitted. Optional functions such as the wireless use of Apple CarPlay
set further highlights. Driver assistant systems include, for example,
camera-based technologies such as the traffic jam assistant for less
tiring driving in dense stop-and-go traffic or the optional parking assistant.</p>
<p>Start of production is November 2018, for European markets not until
  March 2019.</p><div class="co2emission"><div class="co2emission-headline">CO2 EMISSIONS & CONSUMPTION.</div><div class="co2emission-text"><p>(combined fuel consumption 8.4-8.1 l/100 km; combined CO2 emissions:

<p> </p>
<p>*All figures are peliminary.</p>
<p>The values for fuel consumption, CO2 emission and energy consumption
shown were determined in the standardized test cycle according to the
European Regulation (EC) 715/2007 in the version applicable at the
time of type approval. The figures refer to a vehicle with basic
configuration in Germany and the range shown considers optional
equipment and the different size of wheels and tires available on the
selected model and may vary during the configuration.</p>
<p>The values are already based on the test cycle according to the new
WLTP regulation and are translated back into NEDC-equivalent values in
order to allow a comparison between vehicles. With respect to these
vehicles, for vehicle related taxes or other duties based (at least
inter alia) on CO2-emissions the CO2 values may differ to the values
  stated here.</p>
<p>Further information about the official fuel consumption and the
official specific CO2 emission of new passenger cars can be taken out
of the „handbook of fuel consumption, the CO2 emission and power

breaks new ground for BMW as a unique and exciting addition to the BMW
  X model range.<br />
  <br />The car’s chassis and xDrive intelligent all-wheel-drive system
delivers the ideal balance between sporting dynamics and efficiency.
The digital services from BMW ConnectedDrive and BMW ConnectedDrive
Services – both of which are now available in freshly updated form –
add further depth to the overall BMW X2 experience.<br />
  <br />
<strong>Design. <br /></strong>Even next to its bigger brothers, the
BMW X4 and X6, the BMW X2 makes a distinctive impression. The car’s
exterior design combines the low-slung proportions of a coupé with the
  robust core of a BMW X model.<br />
<br />The BMW X2 is two centimetres shorter and more than seven
centimetres lower than the BMW X1, yet has the same wheelbase.
Featuring short overhangs, it also has a stretched, coupé-style
roofline and slim window graphic.<br />
<br />The kidney grille has always been an identifying feature of a
BMW. On the X2, however, its outline is wider at its base than at its
top. The X2 is the first modern BMW to feature this design cue, and it
gives the new car a broader, more distinctive and sportier appearance.
Below the grille, the hexagonal surface treatment in the bumper
further reinforces this impression. The high-gloss black grille
provides sharp contrast with its chrome surround.<br />
<br />Full-LED headlights as standard on Sport, M Sport and M Sport X
models. The bi-LED light for low beam and high beam is highly
effective at illuminating the road, while also accentuating the BMW
X2’s sporty character. The headlights display precise detailing,
achieved in part through 3D Icon LED daytime driving light and laser engraving.<br />
<br />The M Sport and M Sport X models are available with wheels in
sizes up to 20-inch, a standout feature in this segment. As standard,
both models are fitted with 19-inch wheels. The standard rims for the
SE model are 17-inch V-Spoke style light alloy wheels, but ten other
rim designs can be specified as an option.<br />
<br />The side skirts of the BMW X2 are among its signature features
and contribute to its rugged good looks. The cladding is black on the
SE and Sport models and Frozen Grey on the M Sport X. The C-pillars
host two characteristic BMW features: the hallmark BMW Hofmeister kink
and, for the first time on a BMW X model, the BMW roundel.<br />
<br />At the rear, a spoiler provides a flourish to round off the BMW
X2’s roofline and contributes to the BMW X2’s drag co-efficient of
just 0.28. Together with the width-enhancing rear bumper, this creates
  a powerful rear view.<br />
<br />On the SE and Sport models, the rear bumper comes in the vehicle
colour and matt black. The M Sport models feature a diffuser-look
cladding inlay in Dark Shadow metallic. M Sport X models, meanwhile,
get a bespoke diffuser insert in the contrast colour Frozen Grey.<br />
<br />The horizontal design lines of the BMW X2’s rear-end emphasise
the car’s width and its strong character, with these lines continuing
into the high-set rear lights. The LED rear lights contour and the L
shape familiar from BMW coupés.<br />
<br />The car hints at the power of its BMW TwinPower Turbo engines
through the design of the tailpipes. All X2 models come with a twin
  exhaust arrangement 90mm diameter.<br />
  <br />
<strong>Interior and equipment.<br /></strong>The class quality of the
BMW X2 and its levels of equipment, even in the SE model, are both
instantly apparent. The instrument panel has contrast stitching as
standard, while the centre console features materials including
Sensatec also with contrast stitching.<br />
<br />The interior of the M Sport model comes with a Micro Hexagon
fabric Anthracite/Alcantara combination, with the M Sport X adding
leather upholstery as standard. Eye-catching highlights can be added
by opting for the new perforated Dakota leather in Magma Red or the
Micro Hexagon fabric Anthracite/Alcantara combination upholstery with
yellow contrast stitching to match the Galvanic Gold metallic exterior
  paint shade.<br />
<br />The new BMW X2 combines style with generous everyday
practicality. The boot has a capacity of 470 litres, meaning it can
handle leisure activities, from shopping sprees to a skiing weekend or
mountain-bike tour. This functionality manifests itself in the
passenger compartment too, thanks to features such as a door design
  featuring large storage pockets.<br />
<br />The cabin is driver-focused, with the design of features such as
the instrument panel binnacle directed at the road ahead. All controls
are positioned to allow the driver to assimilate their information
with a single glance and operate them with ease.<br />
<br />The soft-finish instrument panel is pleasant to the touch and
gains further visual appeal with contrast decorative stitching. The M
Sport model comes with Micro Hexagon fabric Anthracite/Alcantara
combination upholstery with M piping in blue or yellow with contrast
stitching on the instrument panel and the centre console as standard.
The M Sport X model comes with Dakota leather with contrast stitching.
Further sophisticated upholstery variants are available as options,
including as many as five Dakota leather variants with
part-perforation and coordinated contrast stitching. The choice of
trim finishers, including High-gloss Black, Aluminium and matt Oak
Grain variants, underlines the high-quality credentials of the BMW X2.<br />
<br />All functional controls in the centre console are set in
high-gloss black as standard, giving the interior a touch of
  sophisticated elegance (excluding SE).</p>
<p>
<br />An optional lighting package within the Plus pack allows drivers
to set a stylish lighting mood for the interior of their BMW X2 by
choosing from the colours Orange, Lilac, Mint, Bronze, Blue and White.
The LED lighting in the trim surfaces of the instrument panel and door
panels forms a continuous band that extends all the way around the
cabin to the rear. <br />
<br />One of the most distinctive options on the list is the panoramic
roof, which adds to the sense of spaciousness inside the BMW X2. The
front section of the panoramic roof tilts and slides open, just like a
  conventional sunroof. <br />
  <strong>
    <br />Driving dynamics. <br /></strong>The TwinPower Turbo engines
within the BMW X2 range team with the car’s refined chassis to endow
it with class-beating handling qualities, exceptional agility and
  superb feedback.<br />
<br />The common denominator of all BMW X2 models is a chassis that
transfers the core responsiveness of the BMW engines to the road. The
car’s driving responses can be adapted by using the Driving Experience
Control switch, allowing the driver to choose between default COMFORT
mode, efficiency-enhancing ECO PRO mode and SPORT mode. The
pre-programmed set-up available via SPORT mode gives the car even more
dynamic steering and powertrain responses.<br />
<br />If the optional Dynamic Damper Control is specified, the car’s
suspension can be adjusted even more precisely to individual
requirements. Drivers can choose between two settings – COMFORT or
SPORT – using the Driving Experience Control switch. The result is
sporty suspension offering solid road holding and reassuring comfort
  over any surface.<br />
<br />The M Sport suspension fitted as standard on the BMW X2 M Sport
and M Sport X is a particularly good match for these two models and
includes tauter spring and damper tuning. BMW X2 M Sport and M Sport X
models offer suspension which is 10mm lower than the standard suspension.<br />
<br />At launch, the X2 xDrive20d diesel variant will be available. It
generates maximum output of 190hp and 400Nm of torque enabling a zero
to 62mph time of 7.7 seconds. Official fuel consumption is still
highly impressive 61.4mpg*, while CO2 emissions are as low as
121g/km*. Further attractive variants of the BMW X2 will be added to
the Sports Activity Coupé’s line-up in early 2018 – in the shape of
  the four-cylinder X2 sDrive20i, X2 sDrive18d and X2 xDrive18d. <br /> </p>

<p>*Fuel consumption figures are based on the EU test cycle and may vary
depending on the tyre format specified.        <br />
<br />The 20d diesel model comes equipped with xDrive intelligent
all-wheel drive as standard. The integral Hill Descent Control feature
enables the BMW X2 to automatically maintain a desired speed on steep
descents by taking care of brake control for the driver, who can then
devote their attention to the task of steering.<br />
  <br />With a drag coefficient of just Cd 0.28, the X2 xDrive20d is one
of the most aerodynamically efficient models in the whole segment.<br />
  <br />
<strong>Digital services in the new X2. <br /></strong>All of the BMW
ConnectedDrive and BMW Connected elements in the new BMW X2 have once
again been designed to assist, inform or entertain the driver at the
appropriate time using just the right services.<br />
<br />The new X2 offers its driver three different ways of interacting
with their car, as the sixth generation of the iDrive control concept
now supplements the familiar iDrive Controller and optional voice
control (within Tech pack) with touchscreen operation as standard for
the Control Display . The touchscreen can also be used comfortably by
  the front passenger.<br />
  <br />Standard specification for every BMW X2 includes a 6.5-inch
Touch Control Display with navigation system. The display concept is
designed to provide the driver with a quick summary of the most
important information at any particular time by means of, for example,
the live tiles that appear in the display’s main menu. Its operation
emulates the intuitive touch control principles familiar from smartphones.<br />
<br />For even greater safety and convenience in the BMW X2, there is
the option of the full-colour BMW Head-Up Display, also featured
within the Technology Pack, projects all important driving information
and navigation/assistance system readouts onto the windscreen and
therefore into the driver’s field of view – in high resolution.<br />
<br />BMW Connected+ provides a digital bridge between smartphones and
the car. It delivers the next level of in-car personalisation and
smartphone content integration on the Control Display of the X2. This
makes display and operation in the vehicle simpler than ever. One
example of a new Connected+ service is Share Live Trip Status which
allows the driver to share their current location and time of arrival
with business partners, friends or family. <br />
<br />Among the other highlight features enabling connectivity
anytime, anywhere are the optional WiFi hotspot preparation (available
in Tech Pack), which equips the BMW X2 to host a built-in WiFi hotspot
with LTE speeds, and the optional telephony with wireless charging
(available in Tech Pack) for compatible smartphones. Apple CarPlay®
(available retrospectively from the BMW ConnectedDrive Store),
meanwhile, enables easy, wireless in-car use of selected iPhone functions. <br />
<br />Not only does the BMW X2 offer drivers a wide selection of
driver assistance systems, it also comes with highly advanced technologies. <br />
<br />The camera-based assistance systems available for the new BMW X2
help to deliver assurance and safety in different driving situations.
The optional Driving Assistant (within Drive Pack) includes Lane
Departure Warning, Speed Limit Info with No Passing Info display,
anti-dazzle High Beam Assistant, as well as Collision Warning and
Pedestrian Warning with City Braking function. In addition to these
functions and as an upgrade to the Driver Pack, the Driving Assistant
Plus also features the Active Cruise Control system with Stop & Go
function – which maintains both a desired speed between 19 and 87mph
entered by the driver and the safety distance to vehicles travelling
ahead – and the Traffic Jam Assistant. At speeds up to 37mph, this
function takes over both proximity control and lane-keeping tasks from
the driver. The Traffic Jam Assistant uses steering assistance to keep
the car reliably in the middle of its lane, but the driver needs to
have at least one hand on the steering wheel for the system to work.<br />
<br />Standard rear Park Distance Control and the rear-view camera
(within Vision Pack), whose images are transferred onto the Control
Display, make precise and comfortable manoeuvring that much easier.
The optional Park Assist (also within Driver Pack) also helps the
driver to find and make use of parallel parking spaces.<br />
  <br />
