  season, after receiving recognition from a range of leading automotive
  titles. Highlights include recent successes for BMW and MINI, at the
  2026 Autocar Awards, Autotrader Drivers’ Choice Awards, What Car? Tow
  Car Awards, Auto Express Driver Power 2026 and the EcoCar Electrified
  Top 50 Awards.<br />

  <strong>Autocar name Neue Klasse architecture as ‘Mundy Award for
    Engineering’ winner, </strong>
  <br />
  <strong>with MINI JCW winning ‘Future Classic’ Award at 2026 Autocar Awards.<br />
  </strong>Earlier this week, BMW Group secured two coveted accolades at
  the annual Autocar Awards. All-new Neue Klasse architecture has
  received the prestigious Mundy Award for Engineering at the 2026
  Autocar Awards. The Mundy Award is a highly regarding award that
  recognises standout engineering feats within the automotive industry
  for their exceptional technical contributions and innovation. The Neue
  Klasse architecture underlines the future BMW model portfolio, with
  BMW iX3, BMW 7 Series & BMW i3 already announced, and up to 40 new
  or updated models launching in the coming two years. Speaking on the
  origins, Mike Reichelt, the Head of Neue Klasse, stated that “we went
  all in and pushed every technology to the boundaries to lead BMW into
  the future. Ultimately it feels like a BMW, but a completely modern
  one and a new interpretation of what a BMW should be. And that’s the
  biggest compliment we can get”. The Neue Klasse architecture marks the
  first time a ‘product’ has been received this prize, rather than an
  individual person, since the Autocar’s inaugural awards ceremony in
  2017. Speaking on the win, judges commented that the first of the Neue
  Klasse models – the BMW iX3 – “is amongst the finest electric cars yet”.<br />
  <br />MINI was also victorious on the night, as Autocar named the MINI
  John Cooper Works (JCW) as the winner of their Future Classic Award
  for 2026. The MINI JCW was praised for its “compelling hot hatchback
  charm and trademark desirability”, as it was benchmarked on its
  driving dynamics and significance in the current automotive market.<br />
  <br />
  <strong>BMW iX3 wins ‘Youtube Director Award’ at Autotrader Drivers’
    Choice Awards 2026.</strong>
  <br />At the ninth annual Autotrader Drivers’ Choice Awards, the BMW
  iX3 was revealed as the winner of this year’s Youtube Director Award.
  This award is presented to a vehicle launched during the past 12
  months that has stood out above the competition after being tested by
  Autotrader’s Youtube Director, Rory Reid.<br />
  <br />Speaking on the accolade, Rory commented, “The BMW iX3 stands out
  as a genuinely complete electric car. It combines a strong real-world
  range with everyday practicality, a high-quality, intuitive interior,
  and a driving experience that still feels distinctively BMW.” To
  conclude, Rory states, “[the iX3 is] one of the most convincing
  all-round EVs on sale today”.<br />
  <br />
  <strong>Triple success for BMW at 2026 What Car? Tow Car Awards.</strong>
  <br />The annual What Car? Tow Car Awards help drivers choose a car
  that performs well both when towing and during everyday driving. Since
  its introduction in 2007, these awards assist buyers when it comes to
  towing capabilities across a range of weight classes. This year, the
  BMW 530e Touring was selected as the overall winner, claiming the
  headline award, as well as class winner for ‘best car for caravans
  over 1,700kg’. Speaking on the triumph, judges praised the BMW 530e
  Touring for its “extreme stability”, “excellent fuel economy”, and
  “luxurious and roomy” interior. What Car? Editor, Steve Huntingford
  concluded by stating, “we tested many impressive cars this year, but
  none is better than the overall champion, the BMW 530e Touring. It
  makes an exceptional tow car”.<br />
  <br />Meanwhile, the all-new BMW iX3 was awarded ‘best electric car for
  caravans over 1,400kg’. What Car? commented, “Electric tow cars are
  improving at an impressive rate. There’s no better example than the
  BMW iX3”. As reigning What Car? Car of the Year, the BMW iX3 impressed
  judges by being a “powerful and stable tow car”, and What Car? Editor,
  Steve Huntingford, emphasised that the BMW iX3 is the “new
  standard-setter for electric tow cars”.<br />
  <br />
  <strong>BMW takes home four trophies at EcoCar Electrified Top 50
    Awards 2026.<br />
  </strong>BMW was recently awarded four category wins at the EcoCar
  Electrified Top 50 Awards 2026. Now in its fifth year as a standalone
  awards event, the Top 50 celebrate the very best electric, hybrid,
  plug-in hybrid, mild hybrid and hydrogen vehicles on sale in the UK.
  The 2026 awards saw BMW triumph, with four models placing within the
  top 31.<br />
  <br />The all-new BMW iX3 was crowned ‘Best Electric Executive SUV’, as
  judges praised its “class leading” electric range, “premium interior”,
  and “BMW’s characteristic driving dynamics”.<br />
  <br />Meanwhile, for the fifth consecutive year, the BMW iX was
  selected as “Best Electric Luxury SUV”. Judges commented, “A recent
  facelift has only improved what was already one of the finest electric
  vehicles on sale”. Impressed by the model’s “lounge-like interior”,
  “state of the art” display screen, and usable performance, Diesel
  & Eco Car Editor, Ian Robertson, stated that the BMW iX is “one of
  his favourite cars on sale right now”.<br />
  <br />The BMW 5 Series and BMW i5 were named as “Best Plug-in Hybrid
  Executive Car” & “Best Electric Executive Car” respectively.
  Judges described these cars as “exceptional all-rounders that combine
  refinement, driver engagement and practicality in a thoroughly
  convincing package. Touring estate versions only enhance its appeal”.<br />
  <br />
  <strong>Best Coupe and Family Car wins for BMW at Auto Express’ 2026
    Driver Power survey.</strong>
  <br />The annual Auto Express Driver Power survey asks thousands of new
  car buyers to share their thoughts on the current automotive market
  and their real-world experiences during vehicle ownership. The results
  provide a good insight into what new car owners actually think of the
  cars they purchased and drive every day, helping fellow motorists
  choose their next vehicles. This year, BMW performed across a number
  of classes. The BMW 2 Series was named as ‘Best Coupe’, with buyers
  highlighting interior quality, driving pleasure and engine sounds as
  reasons to recommend. Particular praise was given to the infotainment
  system, with extra points noted for the ‘user-friendly controls and
  smartphone connectivity.<br />
  <br />Meanwhile the BMW 1 Series was triumphant in ‘Best Family Car’
  category with highlights including infotainment technology, interior
  styling and reliability. Notable impressions being that the BMW 1
  Series scored highest in the survey for front seat comfort with 93.2%
  of customers rating this highly. The two above BMW models both placed
  within the top 6 of the 50 surveyed models.<br />

  experience this spring with the integration of popular streaming
  platform, ITVX, directly into operating system of BMW and MINI
  vehicles. Meanwhile, the critically acclaimed BMW iX3 was named Best
  SUV by Top Gear at the title’s 2026 Electric Awards, before securing a
  further title at the Great British Fleet Awards. Also celebrated by
  Fleet World, was the BMW 7 Series, which retains its status as Best
  Fleet Luxury Car for a second year. A further gong was received by
  MINI, as the MINI John Cooper Works was crowned Piston Hot Hatch of
  the Year by automotive YouTube channel, Buckle Up. <br />
  <br />
  <strong>ITVX now available to stream in over 250,000 BMW and MINI
  vehicles.<br /></strong>BMW Group today expands its comprehensive
  portfolio of third-party applications available via the built-in BMW
  and MINI app stores with the integration of the popular streaming
  platform, ITVX.<br />
  <br />Launching first in BMW and MINI vehicles, the new ITVX in-car
  app will enable over 250,000 BMW and MINI owners to tune in to their
  favourite ITV dramas, entertainment series and blockbusters from the
  comfort of their car1 via the built-in infotainment
  system2. Compatible models include the trailblazing BMW iX3
  and the newly announced BMW 7 Series, where passengers benefit from an
  unparallelled on-the-move entertainment experience via the first-ever
  BMW Passenger Display and the enhanced rear BMW Theatre Screen, now
  with DOLBY ATMOS for the ultimate cinematic spectacle.<strong>
    <br />
    <br />BMW iX3 named Best SUV at Top Gear’s Electric Awards
  2026. <br /></strong>Since its unveiling last year, the trailblazing
  BMW iX3 has garnered widespread industry acclaim, including being
  selected as Top Gear’s 2026 Car of the Year. Continuing its winning
  streak, the first Neue Klasse model impressed Top Gear judges yet
  again, securing the top spot as Best SUV at the title’s Electric
  Awards. <br />
  <br />The accolade comes following a stunt by the Top Gear team, who
  drove the BMW iX3 across the full width of England – from Lowestoft to
  Land’s End – on a single charge, arriving at the country’s most
  westerly point with miles in reserve. Commenting on the win, Top Gear
  said: “BMW’s big investment has paid off. The iX3 is a bona fide range
  champ. We ran out of England before it ran out of charge.”<br />
  <br />Designed specifically for the Neue Klasse, the BMW iX3 was the
  first model to premiere BMW Group’s sixth-generation eDrive
  technology, which comprises highly efficient electric motors, new
  high-voltage batteries with cylindrical cells, and 800-volt technology
  to set new benchmarks in efficiency and long-distance capability. In
  the case of the BMW iX3 50 xDrive, the result is an impressive
  single-charge range of up to 500 miles (WLTP3).<br />
  <br />
  <strong>Double success for BMW UK at the Fleet
  Awards.<br /></strong>Now in its seventh year, the Great British Fleet
  Awards celebrate innovation across the fleet industry, recognising
  cutting‑edge innovation as well as products and services that help
  operators run safer, greener and more cost‑effective fleets.<br />
  <br />At this year’s ceremony, the BMW iX3 was named Best EV Large
  SUV, with judges praising its “latest battery cell technology, weight
  saving construction” and BMW’s “intense focus on improving energy
  efficiency.” With this latest recognition, the first Neue Klasse model
  adds a fifth accolade to its 2026 tally.<br />
  <br />Also acknowledged on the night was the BMW 7 Series, which
  retains its title as Best Fleet Luxury Car for the second consecutive
  year. Reinforcing the 7 Series’ status as the ultimate luxury saloon,
  judges commended the model for “redefining the flagship experience”
  through its combination of “unparalleled rear-seat luxury” and a
  “sophisticated approach to electrification.” The 750e xDrive
  derivative received additional praise, as the jury named it “the
  standout choice,” thanks to its impressive all-electric range and
  “competitive benefit in-kind rating.” In summary, Fleet World describe
  the 7 Series as “a technological tour de force beyond the tax advantages.”<br />
  <br />
  <strong>MINI John Cooper Works awarded Piston Hot Hatch of the Year by
    Buckle Up.</strong>
  <br />The MINI John Cooper Works (JCW) recently added another trophy
  to its cabinet, after it collected Buckle Up’s Piston Hot Hatch of the
  Year award.<br />
  <br />Handing over the trophy, Buckle Up said: “In an era where hot
  hatches are disappearing, the MINI JCW continues to deliver genuine
  fun, sharp handling, and character in a compact package. It remains
  one of the last great internal combustion hot hatches.”<br />
  <br />The MINI JCW is part of the MINI JCW model family, which
  successfully delivers high-performance thrills across a variety of
  body styles and with the choice of combustion or all-electric
  powertrains. Regardless of the chosen drive train, all MINI JCW models
  offer signature go-kart handling alongside exclusive, aerodynamically
  optimised design features.<br />

    <br /></strong>1. Drivers can enjoy ITVX content via the central
  infotainment display when their vehicle is safely parked. Passengers
  can tune in on the move when the vehicle is specified with either the
  BMW Passenger Display or the rear BMW Theatre Screen.<br />2. Data

  connectivity provided by a BMW Digital Premium or MINI Connected
  Package subscription.<br />3. WLTP energy consumption combined: 17.9 -
  15.1 kWh/100 km; WLTP CO₂ emissions combined: 0 g/km; CO2-class: A;

  eDrive technology developed specially for the Neue Klasse, which
  represents a technological leap forward. All components are designed
  for 800V technology. An electrically excited synchronous motor (EESM)
  with high levels of efficiency is integrated into the rear axle and
  drives the rear wheels. The electric motor develops 320 hp1
  and 500 Nm1 of torque. The new BMW iX3 40 accelerates from
  rest to 62 mph in 5.9 seconds1 before reaching a top speed
  of 124 mph1.<br />
  <br />
  <strong>Short charging times and a maximum range of up to 395
  miles1.<br /></strong>The high-voltage battery of the new
  BMW iX3 40 has a usable energy content of 82.6 kWh1. Its
  lithium-ion cylindrical cells have 20 per cent greater energy density
  than the prismatic cells used for Gen5 BMW eDrive technology and are
  integrated directly into the high-voltage battery (cell-to-pack). The
  pack-to-open-body construction turns the battery into a structural
  component of the vehicle and reduces the amount of material required
  and cuts weight.<br />
  <br />The maximum charging rate is 300 kW1 when plugged
  into an 800V direct current (DC) fast-charging station. Doing so
  enables the new BMW iX3 40 to be topped up with enough energy to add
  up to 186 miles1 to its range in just 10 minutes. The
  energy content of the high-voltage battery can be increased from 10 to
  80 per cent of its capacity in just 21 minutes at a DC charging
  station. Charging using alternating current (AC) at a rate of up to 11
  kW is possible as standard.<br />
  <br />AC charging at up to 22 kW is available optionally as part of
  the AC Charging Professional package. This allows the high-voltage
  battery to charge from 0 to 100 per cent in 4 hours and 15
  minutes1. The BMW iX3 40 is capable of bidirectional charging.<br />
  <br />
  <strong>Unmistakable new design language.<br /></strong>Like the BMW
  iX3 50 xDrive (energy consumption combined: 17.9 – 15.1 kWh/62 miles
  (WLTP); CO2 emissions combined: 0 g/m (WLTP); electric range: 421 –
  500 miles (WLTP); CO2 class (es): A), the new entry-level model
  features the clean, reduced and unmistakable exterior design language
  of the Neue Klasse. This includes the re-interpreted kidney grille and
  light signature, as well as precise lines and expansive surfaces.<br />
  <br />Neue Klasse design continues inside the cabin, where the
  revolutionary display and operating concept, BMW Panoramic iDrive with
  new BMW Operating System X, enables complete driver orientation while
  redefining the user experience.<br />
  <br />As with its exterior and interior design, standard specification
  for the new BMW iX3 40 is identical to that of the BMW iX3 50 xDrive.<br />
  <br />
  <strong>BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant now with Amazon
  Alexa+2.<br /></strong>The multimodal operating logic of
  BMW Panoramic iDrive combines touch, haptic and voice-based
  interaction. The BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant plays a central
  role in the operating concept of the new BMW iX3. The BMW Group made
  the decision to step up its collaboration with Amazon in 2022.<br />
  <br />The BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant helps to operate the
  windows, air conditioning and seating comfort, manage phone calls,
  control in-car entertainment and more. It can also be used to call up
  many function menus and operate certain apps. Upgrading the BMW
  Intelligent Personal Assistant to include Amazon Alexa+ AI
    technology2 provides additional functionality.<br />
  <br />The integration of Amazon Alexa+2 into the BMW
  Intelligent Personal Assistant represents a technological leap forward
  with added value for customers. The AI technology used is a Large
  Language Model (LLM) – a generative AI that understands language and
  can formulate its own responses. This makes for more conversational
  voice interactions; it enables intuitive and intelligent exchanges,
  and supports access to external knowledge bases, cloud-based services
  and media content, as well as the control of vehicle functions.<br />
  <br />Linking to an Amazon account allows seamless integration of
  relevant services and extends the range of use well beyond traditional
  vehicle operation. Availability will be gradually expanded, starting
  with Germany.<br />
  <br />
  <strong>New levels of dynamic ability and the smoothest stopping
    process ever achieved by a BMW.<br /></strong>Neue Klasse technology
  takes driving pleasure to new heights in the new BMW iX3 40. This is
  underpinned by the new electronics and software architecture, where
  four “superbrains” bring customers a top-class driving experience.
  These high-performance computers deliver more than 20 times greater
  processing power than those utilised within previous models.<br />
  <br />The Heart of Joy control computer with BMW Dynamic Performance
  Control software, developed fully in-house, responds ten times faster
  than previous systems to provide effortless, agile and assured
  handling, while also setting new dynamic standards. Another milestone
  is the Soft Stop function. Thanks to precise control of the electric
  motor, the new BMW iX3 40 brakes to a complete halt without any jerks
  or noise, delivering the smoothest stopping process in the history of
  the brand.<br />
  <br />
  <strong>Market launch and pricing.<br /></strong>The new BMW iX3 40
  will be available in the UK from summer 2026 and is priced from
  £53,250 OTR.<br />
  <br />
  <br />
  <strong>Ends<br />
    <br /></strong>
  <sup>
    <br />1 All figures are provisional. Charging performance
  depends on the vehicle specification, battery charge and condition,
  ambient/battery temperature, driving profile, auxiliary consumers,
  vehicle-specific charging settings and the charging power provided by
  the charging point.<br />
  2 Will be rolled out gradually for all BMW models with BMW
  Operating System 9 and X from the second half of 2026 at the latest.
  Availability will be gradually expanded, starting with Germany and the USA.<br />
  <br />

  What Car? Car of the Year Awards as the all-new BMW iX3 is named
  overall Car of the Year after topping the Premium Electric SUV
  category. Alongside these awards, BMW collected four additional
  accolades across a variety of categories. The BMW M3 Touring was
  celebrated as three-time Performance Car of the Year, while the BMW 4
  Series was announced as What Car?’s Coupé of choice for the sixth
  consecutive year. BMW continues to lead the Luxury Car category as the
  BMW X7 succeeds the BMW i7 in securing the 2026 accolade. Rounding off
  a triumphant night, the BMW X3 attained this year’s Safety Award.<br />
  <br />
  <strong>BMW iX3 crowned overall Car of the Year.</strong>
  <br />Marking a true milestone moment for the brand, the BMW iX3
  arrives as the first series-produced Neue Klasse model, introducing a
  broad spectrum of innovations and technologies that will soon be
  adopted across the entire BMW product portfolio. Since its unveiling
  last year, the trailblazing BMW iX3 has garnered widespread acclaim,
  and this momentum continues after securing the coveted overall Car of
  the Year title at this year’s What Car? awards.<br />
  <br />The BMW iX3 thoroughly impressed judges, topping the Premium
  Electric SUV category before collecting the headline award. Handing
  over the trophy, Steve Huntingford, Editor of What Car?, said:
  "The premium electric SUV market is one of the most hotly
  contested, yet in so many respects the BMW iX3 offers a step change in
  capability. It combines a huge range with ultra-rapid charging; its
  new 'brain' improves everything from the infotainment system to
  safety; and despite being one of the most enjoyable SUVs of any kind
  to drive, it's also very comfortable. In short, it's a truly great car."<br />
  <br />On accepting the award, David George, CEO, BMW Group UK and
  Ireland commented: “We are truly honoured that the BMW iX3 has been
  named as the 2026 What Car? Car of the Year. This award is especially
  meaningful given its prestigious reputation and What Car?’s rigorous
  testing process. Like the original Neue Klasse of the 1960s, the BMW
  iX3 represents the beginning of a new era for BMW, bringing
  significant advancements in technology, range and charging
  capabilities while maintaining the unmistakable driving experience our
  customers know and expect. We extend our thanks to the entire What
  Car? team for this special recognition and look forward to showcasing
  the innovations of the Neue Klasse across the BMW product portfolio.”<br />
  <br />The new BMW iX3 will launch in the UK on 7 March, 2026 and can
  be preordered at retailers nationwide. Following its launch, BMW will
  introduce 40 new models and model updates between now and 2027,
  commencing with the BMW i3 Saloon – which begins production in the
  second half of 2026.<br />
  <br />
  <strong>BMW M3 Touring celebrated as three-time Performance Car of the Year.</strong>
  <br />Since its launch in 2022, the BMW M3 Touring has remained a
  consistent favourite, impressing judges year after year with its
  unique combination of exhilarating performance and practical
  versatility. Its success continued at this year’s awards, after
  collecting the Performance Car of the Year accolade for the third
  consecutive year. "The BMW M3 Touring isn't a jack of all trades;
  it's a master of most that manages to combine everyday usability with
  a huge amount of fun,” said Huntingford. “The handling can feel as
  secure or playful as you wish. No matter where you are in the rev
  range, acceleration is savage when you put your foot down. And yet the
  M3 Touring is just as capable of playing the classy and practical
  family car,” he continued.<br />
  <br />
  <strong>Coupé of the Year awarded to the BMW 4 Series for the sixth
    consecutive year.</strong>
  <br />The remarkable winning streak of the BMW 4 Series remains
  unbroken as it tops What Car?’s Coupé of the Year category for the
  sixth time since its 2020 launch. The judging panel commended its
  “precise steering,” “balanced feel through corners” and engine, which
  “loves to be revved…” “One of the best things about the BMW 4 Series
  is that even the entry-level 420i version is great to drive,”
  Huntingford added.<br />
  <br />
  <strong>Luxury Car of the Year title retained as the BMW X7 takes this
    year’s top spot.</strong>
  <br />2026 begins as another successful year for BMW’s luxury division
  after the BMW X7 succeeded the BMW i7 in securing this year’s Luxury
  Car of the Year title – marking a third consecutive victory for the
  brand. Judges highlighted the seven-seater’s combination of “luxury
  and power” to deliver “effortless performance”. Additional tribute was
  paid to its serene driving experience – standing as one of the
  “quietest vehicles ever tested” by the publication – alongside
  abundant interior space and an “impressive ride,” which “gets even
  better” with the optional Executive Drive Suspension. <br />
  <br />
  <strong>BMW X3 secures this year’s Safety Award.</strong>
  <br />The final award of the evening was presented to the BMW X3,
  which was unveiled as What Car?’s pick when it comes to safety.
  Commenting on the win, judges said: "As well as keeping its
  occupants safe in a crash, the BMW X3 is packed with active safety
  technology that can prevent accidents from happening in the first
  place. However, what really sets it apart is the way in which these
  systems work collaboratively with the driver, avoiding the unnecessary
  interventions that can lead to them being switched off." <br />
  <br />The current generation BMW X3 will continue to be sold in the UK
  alongside the new BMW iX3, offering customers a choice of
  all-electric, petrol, diesel and plug-in hybrid powertrains for
  maximum flexibility.<br />
  <br />

<p>
  <strong>Munich.</strong> The new BMW iX3 is in the spotlight at CES
  2026. For the first time, the enhanced, AI-powered BMW Intelligent
  Personal Assistant with Alexa+ technology will be presented to the
  public. As the debut model for the Neue Klasse, the BMW iX3 showcases
  groundbreaking innovations that will shape the entire model range of
  the brand in the future. By 2027, the technologies of the Neue Klasse
  will be integrated into a total of 40 new models and model updates
  from BMW.</p>
<p>
  <strong>BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant expanded with Amazon
  Alexa+.<br /></strong>One year after the world premiere of the new BMW
  Panoramic iDrive with BMW Operating System X at CES 2025, visitors to
  this year’s CES can experience the revolutionary user-interaction
  concept firsthand in the BMW iX3. With a balanced combination of
  digital functions and physical elements, it elevates intuitive
  operation according to BMW’s guiding principle ‘Hands on the Wheel,
  Eyes on the Road’ to a new level of driver orientation. Built on the
  technological foundation of a software-defined vehicle, the customer
  experience in the BMW iX3 continues to evolve. For the first time, BMW
  presents the next generation <strong>AI-powered BMW Intelligent
    Personal Assistant</strong>. BMW is the first manufacturer to expand
  its voice assistant with the AI assistant Amazon Alexa+. This enables
  intuitive and intelligent interaction between passengers and the
  vehicle in a natural dialogue. The interaction includes the operation
  of vehicle functions as well as access to information and knowledge
  beyond the vehicle. For the first time, passengers can ask multiple
  questions in a single sentence—covering both your vehicle’s features
  and e.g. general knowledge topics.</p>
<p>The integration of Amazon Alexa+ into the BMW Intelligent Personal
  Assistant represents a technological leap forward that focuses on
  added value for the customer. The AI technology used in the BMW
  Intelligent Personal Assistant is a Large Language Model (LLM), a
  generative AI that understands language and is capable of formulating
  its own responses. Starting in the second half of 2026 at the latest,
  this further development will be gradually rolled out in Germany and
  the USA across all BMW models equipped with BMW Operating System 9 and
  X. (LINK TO FULL RELEASE)</p>
<p>
  <strong>BMW iX3 transforms waiting time into entertainment: stream a
    movie, play a video game or make a video call.[1]
    <br /></strong>The BMW booth at CES also focuses on the wide range
  of entertainment options in BMW Operating System X. It offers an
  extensive selection of apps, videos, and games. In addition to the
  popular streaming service <strong>Disney+</strong>, customers in the
  BMW iX3 have access to the <strong>Video App</strong> (powered by
  TiVo™). This app enables video streaming on the central display when
  the vehicle is stationary, with a continuously growing selection of
  content such as news, live, and on-demand streaming. The portfolio of
  the video streaming platform will continue to evolve.</p>
<p>The <strong>BMW ConnectedDrive Store</strong> will also soon include
  the <strong>YouTube Music</strong> app for the first time, joining the
    <strong>more than 85 apps worldwide in categories such as Music
    & Audio, Entertainment, Gaming, News, Travel &
  Local</strong>. YouTube Music gives customers access to an extensive
  catalog with over 300 million tracks, including the official studio
  recordings, remixes, live performances, and hard-to-find covers.
    <strong>Zoom </strong>now allows video calls on the iX3’s central
  display for the first time when the vehicle is stationary. As soon as
  the vehicle starts moving, the video transmission stops, and the
  conversation seamlessly continues via audio.</p>
<p>In-car gaming via AirConsole, as introduced for the first time with
  the BMW Operating System 8.5, is also available in the new BMW iX3,
  featuring world-renowned titles like UNO®️ Car Party!
  <br />A new highlight in AirConsole’s extensive game library is
    <strong>Hot Wheels: Xtreme Overdrive™️ </strong>from Mattel,
  available exclusively to BMW customers. AirConsole allows users to use
  their own smartphones as controllers, so all passengers can play
  together or compete against each other. Additional games and apps for
  in-car entertainment can be accessed through the BMW ConnectedDrive
  Store. Selected games in the BMW iX3 can also be controlled using
  Bluetooth controllers from conventional gaming consoles.</p>
<p>
  <strong>Sixth-generation BMW eDrive technology: higher efficiency,
    more range, faster charging.</strong>
  <br />The sixth-generation BMW eDrive technology developed for the
  Neue Klasse comprises highly efficient electric motors, fundamentally
  new high-voltage batteries with cylindrical cells, and 800V
  technology. The BMW iX3 50 xDrive is powered by two electric motors,
  which together generate output of 345 kW/469 hp and 645 Nm (475 lb-ft)
  of torque. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 4.9 seconds
  and reaches a top speed of 210 km/h (130 mph). Its electric
  all-wheel-drive configuration consists of an extensively upgraded
  electrically excited synchronous motor (EESM) with particularly high
  levels of efficiency at the rear axle and, at the front axle, a new
  asynchronous motor (ASM) distinguished by its compact design and high
  cost efficiency. The combination of EESM and ASM is evidence of the
  BMW Group’s commitment to technological neutrality within electric
  mobility as well. The drive technology developed for the Neue Klasse
  reduces energy losses by 40 per cent compared to fifth-generation BMW
  eDrive technology, weight by 10 per cent and manufacturing costs by 20
  per cent.</p>
<p>The new high-voltage battery concept with cylindrical cells for the
  Neue Klasse also achieves significant advances. The energy density on
  a cell level is 20 per cent higher than with fifth-generation BMW
  eDrive technology, and the new concept also paves the way for a 30 per
  cent increase in charging speed. The cylindrical cells are integrated
  directly into the high-voltage battery (“cell to pack”), which
  benefits energy density and cost efficiency. Added to which, the
  high-voltage battery is integrated into the vehicle architecture as a
  structural component to minimise weight (“pack to open body”). The
  high-voltage battery in the BMW iX3 50 xDrive has a usable energy
  content of 108.7 kWh, enabling a range of up to 805 kilometres (500
  miles) in the WLTP cycle.</p>
<p>
  <strong>BMW Charging: short charging times, premiere for bidirectional
  charging.<br /></strong>The advances brought by sixth-generation BMW
  eDrive technology have a significant influence on the charging
  experience, too. A maximum charging rate of 400 kW enables users to
  fill their new BMW iX3 with enough energy at an 800V direct current
  (DC) rapid charging station to add up to 372 kilometres (231 miles)
  [2] of range in just ten minutes. The high-voltage battery
  can charge from 10 to 80 per cent capacity in 21 minutes. Thanks to
  the battery management tech with integrated switching matrix developed
  completely in-house by the BMW Group, the new BMW iX3 can also be
  charged from 400V DC stations. Upgrades to the battery preparation
  also help to shorten charging times. The new BMW iX3 50 xDrive can top
  up on alternating current (AC) at 11 kW as standard or 22 kW
  [3] as an option.</p>
<p>Extensive bidirectional charging functions [3] are also
  available for the new BMW iX3, meaning that it can be used as an
  energy supply source for a variety of applications. The
  Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) function turns the new BMW iX3 into a mobile
  powerbank, which can supply electric devices with power while on the
  move. Vehicle-to-Home (V2H) hands it the role of storage unit for
  solar energy generated by home-fitted photovoltaic systems. And
  customers can also hook their car up to the energy market via the
  Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) application and earn some money in the process.</p>
<p>The selection of standard-fitted and optional charging accessories
  has been significantly expanded. For flexible charging during a
  journey, customers can make use of the new Multifunction Charger,
  which comes with several adapters for charging and discharging the
  high-voltage battery. The new BMW Wallbox Professional (DC) enables
  bidirectional charging at home or work. And BMW Charging offers the
  option of cost-optimised /solar-power-optimised home charging.</p>
<p>In order to give owners the best possible charging experience, the
  new BMW iX3 will be fitted as standard with an NACS (North American
  Charging Standard) compatible charging port. This will provide iX3
  owners access to the vast Supercharger network, while a standard CCS
  (Combined Charging System) adapter will preserve access to other
  providers from coast to coast, thus ensuring that iX3 owners are never
  far from a provider no matter where the journey is taking them.</p>
<p>
  <strong>Heart of Joy: The Ultimate Driving Machine reaches a new level.</strong>
  <br />One of four superbrains in the electronics architecture of the
  Neue Klasse, the Heart of Joy looks after drivetrain and driving
  dynamics management. This high-performance control unit is responsible
  for the drivetrain, brakes, energy recuperation, and steering
  functions, and processes information up to ten times faster than
  conventional control units. In this way, the potential of electric
  mobility in terms of instantaneous power delivery, smooth power
  transfer, agility, stability, and efficiency is fully realized.</p>
<p>Together with the BMW Dynamic Performance Control software stack
  developed fully in-house, the Heart of Joy calculates all the driving
  dynamics parameters with a new level of speed and precision. The
  driver and passengers in the new BMW iX3 experience a uniquely
  harmonious and BMW-typical driving sensation whatever the situation.
  Every movement of the accelerator, brake pedal, and steering is
  executed directly and with assurance and precision. Supreme traction
  and – thanks to the unique Soft Stop function – the smoothest stopping
  process ever achieved by a BMW are among its other attributes. In
  addition, the efficiency of the new BMW iX3 is optimized by the
  integrated management of drivetrain, braking system, and energy
  recuperation. In everyday driving, 98% of braking maneuvers are
  carried out using recuperation only, without application of the
  friction brakes. The only occasions these are called upon are under
  emergency braking and during extremely sporty driving.</p>
<p>
  <strong>“Superbrain of automated driving” for the driver assistance
    systems with of the next technology
  generation.<br /></strong>Another high-performance computer brings
  together all the automated driving and parking functions in the BMW
  iX3. With 20 times greater processing power than in the previous
  vehicle generation, the watercooled “superbrain of automated driving”
  enables a significant technological advance with the Neue Klasse in
  this area as well.</p>
<p>
  <strong>BMW Symbiotic Drive provides seamless
  support.<br /></strong>The BMW iX3 uses its Symbiotic Drive capability
  combined with driver assistance to create a completely new driving
  experience. Whenever the driver wants to accelerate, brake or steer,
  their inputs merge seamlessly and intuitively with AI-enabled
  software.The result is a whole new form of Sheer Driving Pleasure. For
  example, the automatic cruise control system is not deactivated with
  only a light press of the brake pedal; instead, it is only switched
  off when the driver brakes harder. In the same way, the lane control
  assistance remains active even after light steering inputs by the driver.</p>
<p>With the optional BMW Highway / Motorway Assistant [4],
  drivers can take their hands off the steering wheel permanently at
  speeds of up to 85 mph / 130 km/h, while remaining attentive and ready
  to intervene. The system assists with vehicle guidance within the lane
  and can also perform automated lane changes when needed – a simple
  glance confirmation by the driver is sufficient. With active BMW Maps
  route guidance, the system proactively suggests lane changes at
  highway interchanges and exits, which can be confirmed with a quick
  glance in the wing mirror. The Highway Assistant remains active while
  passing through interchanges and until the end of highway exits. This
  allows BMW iX3 drivers to enjoy Level 2 driver assistance without
  touching the steering wheel in even more situations.</p>
<p>The new Highway and City Assistant [4] also offers
  innovative functions for urban environments, such as stopping and
  automatically restarting at traffic lights. Additional driver
  assistance features for complex urban driving situations will be
  rolled out later via over-the-air software updates.</p>

  latest development of the BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant. The use
  of predefined voice commands (intents) is no longer necessary. This
  means that with the BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant, various
  requests and queries can be linked together as in a normal human
  conversation, and follow-up questions can be asked. BMW customers can
  trust that their vehicle understands them in context and provides the
  appropriate answers. For example1), when asked, “Hey BMW
  what’s the most famous painting there is in the world and where can I
  find it?” the BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant will provide the
  corresponding answer (e.g., Mona Lisa, Leonardo da Vinci, Louvre) and
  can link this answer directly to other vehicle functions such as
  navigation. The follow-up request "Take me there!" will then
  enable direct guidance to the exhibition location of the artwork. The
  intelligent voice assistant also uses such interactive dialogues to
  respond even more precisely to future voice commands and anticipate
  the intent of the question.</p>

<p>The integration of Amazon Alexa+ architecture into the BMW
  Intelligent Personal Assistant represents a technological leap forward
  that focuses on added value for the customer.</p>
<p>The AI technology used in the BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant is a
  Large Language Model (LLM), a generative AI that understands language
  and is capable of formulating its own responses. </p>
<p>
  <strong> </strong></p>
<p>
  <strong>BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant with AI technology
    initially available in Germany and the US.  </strong></p>
<p>The enhanced AI-supported BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant will be
  presented to the public for the first time at CES 2026 in Las Vegas.
  Starting in the second half of 2026, BMW iX3 customers in Germany and
  the US will be the first to benefit from the advantages of the BMW
  Intelligent Personal Assistant powered by Amazon Alexa+. Other markets
  and model series will follow gradually. The UI/UX of the BMW iX3 is
  based on the new BMW Panoramic iDrive control concept with BMW
  Operating System X. </p>
<p>This integration is an important step on the BMW Group's path to
  offering this AI technology across the entire BMW model
  range2). It exemplifies the seamless integration of the
  "software-defined vehicle" (SDV) into the customer's digital ecosystem.</p>
<p>The BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant has played a central role in
  the BMW iDrive operating concept since 2018. In 2022, the addition of
  Amazon Alexa Custom Assistant to the BMW Intelligent Personal
  Assistant led to even more information diversity, faster response
  times, and better understanding of user requests. Most recently, in
  2025, the intelligent voice assistant was expanded for all BMW
  vehicles with Operating System 9 to include new functions such as
  music search, news, sports, and general knowledge. The integration of
  Amazon Alexa+ technology into the next-generation BMW Intelligent
  Personal Assistant demonstrates the innovative power of the
  cooperation between the BMW Group and Amazon. </p>
<p>
  1) The video in the press release shows a question in
  English. For the market launch, the corresponding languages, German
  and English, will be offered for Germany and the US respectively.</p>
<p>

    <br />Munich.</strong> The new BMW iX3 and its trailblazing
  innovations will be shown at the CES 2026. Having won multiple
  innovation- and car-of-the-year awards* even before hitting the
  streets, the first vehicle of BMW’s Neue Klasse is set to impress the
  visitors of the most influential technology trade show.</p>
<p>At the BMW booth in the Silver Lot in front of the South Hall at the
  Las Vegas Convention Center, visitors can experience the BMW Panoramic
  iDrive with the new AI-powered BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant in
  the BMW iX3. Through its collaboration with Amazon, BMW becomes the
  first automaker to integrate Alexa+ technology into its vehicles—a
  major step forward for in-vehicle conversational AI. With natural
  dialogue and intelligent capabilities, the system moves beyond simple
  voice commands to deliver a context-aware, personalized experience
  that helps drivers stay focused on the road. This new level of voice
  interaction can also be experienced at Amazon’s Devices & Services
  Exhibit in the Venetian Hotel, Ballrooms G-J.</p>
<p>The new BMW iX3 represents a leap forward in development that extends
  well beyond the reaches of a conventional model renewal. The advances
  made in terms of design and technology create the impression that a
  complete vehicle generation has been skipped. For the BMW Group, the
  launch of the new BMW iX3 also represents a milestone in the
  transformation process when it comes to electrification,
  digitalization and circularity. Spearheading the arrival of the Neue
  Klasse, it offers customers the latest design and technological
  innovations, which will shape the brand’s entire model range moving
  forwards. The technologies of the Neue Klasse will be incorporated
  into a total of 40 new models and model updates between now and 2027.</p>
<p>In 2023, the BMW i Vision Dee showed a vision of the Neue Klasse
  becoming a true companion with conversational AI capabilities. With a
  gigantic dashboard, the new display and operating concept BMW
  Panoramic iDrive was revealed in a spectacular way at CES 2025. With
  the new BMW iX3 coming to CES 2026, which embodies these key
  innovations, the BMW Group delivers on the promises made at previous
  CES appearances.</p>

  of the Year. Closely following its recent triumph at the Top Gear.com
  Awards, the first Neue Klasse model deeply impressed the team behind
  the world’s most-watched EV YouTube channel, who declared it “the most
  important car of the year”.<br />
  <br />Ginny Buckley, Editor-in-Chief at Electrifying.com, was
  “astonished” by the BMW iX3, commending its “smooth power delivery”,
  “incredible” charging capabilities and “minimalist” interior design.
  However, it was the SAV’s “super slick” automated driving functions
  that impressed her most, culminating in the “smoothest and most
  relaxing” system she had experienced.<br />
  <br />On presenting the headline accolade, Buckley said, “The phrase
  ‘game-changer’ is over-used in the car industry, but the BMW iX3 lives
  up to that claim. This is BMW starting again from the ground up - new
  battery tech, new software, the lot - with a claimed range of up to
  500 miles. But the real standout is the bigger picture: BMW hasn’t
  just made a better EV, it’s worked out how to build one more
  sustainably too. The iX3 Neue Klasse is the point where BMW’s electric
  future properly clicks. It’s a brilliant, deserved winner."<br />
  <br />With the launch of the Neue Klasse, the BMW Group has further
  intensified its efforts to increase circularity and reduce
  CO2 emissions across the entire vehicle life cycle – from
  production to end of life. For instance, at its newest production
  plant in Debrecen, Hungary – where the BMW iX3 is built – normal
  operations run entirely without fossil fuels. Furthermore, the product
  carbon footprint of the new BMW iX3 50 xDrive is 34 per cent smaller
  than that of its predecessor over its full life cycle1.
  This means that, when powered by energy from the European electricity
  mix, it will have a smaller product carbon footprint (based on overall
  life cycle) than a comparable combustion-engine model once it has
  covered around 21,500 kilometres (13,358 miles). <br />
  <br />Reflecting on the success of the BMW iX3, David George, CEO, BMW
  Group UK and Ireland commented, “The launch of the new BMW iX3 marks a
  significant step-change in the performance and innovations of our
  battery electric vehicles. With its impressive 500-mile2
  range and ultra-fast charging capabilities, the BMW iX3 delivers a
  truly compelling driving experience for our customers. We are
  incredibly grateful for this recognition and would like to extend our
  sincere thanks to the entire Electrifying.com team.”<br />
  <br />The Electrifying.com Awards celebrate the electric vehicles and
  companies that represent a genuine step forward for drivers and the
  wider EV sector. Electrifying.com is the UK’s fastest-growing
  electric-car platform who provide consumers with trusted, jargon-free
  insight into electric cars, charging and the transition to cleaner transport.<br />
  <br />Priced from £58,755 OTR, the new BMW iX3 can be preordered from
  retailers nationwide with first customer deliveries taking place on 7
  March 2026. To learn more about the new BMW iX3, please click <a href="https://newsroom.bmwgroup.com/global/en"><strong>HERE</strong></a>.<br />

  the year having collected a variety of industry accolades. Celebrated
  for its class-leading product lineup, benchmark fleet management and
  gold-standard UK manufacturing operations, the company continues to
  set the standard across various sectors.<br />
  <br />
  <strong>All-new BMW iX3 honoured as Carwow’s Tech Trailblazer
  .<br /></strong>Premiering a broad spectrum of innovations and new
  technologies, the all-new BMW iX3 was honoured as Carwow’s Tech
  Trailblazer at the publication’s annual Car of the Year Awards. Judges
  were impressed with the SAV’s advancements, with Mat Watson, Chief
  Content Officer at Carwow, commenting, “Most new cars barely nudge at
  the needle of progress, but the new BMW iX3 pushes it so far along
  that it’s basically tied itself into a knot. Its sophisticated
  underpinnings offer hyper-fast charging, a massive battery allowing
  over 500 miles of range and a minimalist but rich digital experience.”<br />
  <br />Arriving as the first series-produced Neue Klasse model, the BMW
  iX3 marks a significant milestone for BMW Group in the company’s
  journey towards enhanced electrification, digitalisation and
  circularity. “The new BMW iX3 is a car to get excited about, not just
  for what it is, but for what it represents - the march of progress.”
  Watson continued.<br />
  <br />
  <strong>BMW 7 Series named Best Luxury Car for the third consecutive
    year at the Parkers New Car Awards 2026.<br /></strong>Now in its
  ninth year, the Parkers New Car Awards reflect the ever-changing needs
  of Britain’s car-buying public, where winners are selected based on a
  combination of expert reviews and consumer purchasing trends.
  Following this year’s ceremony, the BMW 7 Series continues its reign
  as Parkers’ Best Luxury Car, leading the category for the third
  consecutive year.<br />
  <br />Introduced in 2022, the latest-generation BMW 7 Series continues
  to demonstrate why it is regarded as the ultimate luxury saloon,
  combining “comfort, innovation and sophistication” to portray the
  “ultimate expression of modern luxury.” Parkers judges paid tribute to
  the model’s “class, comfort and poise” alongside its versatility –
  offering “masses of appeal for businesses, drivers and, most
  importantly, the VIP in the back.”<br />
  <br />
  <strong>Triple victory for BMW Group UK at the Auto Express Used Car
  Awards.<br /></strong>Auto Express recently announced its favourite
  used cars for 2025, where the BMW 3 Series was crowned overall Used
  Car of the Year. Utilising the industry-leading Driver Power survey,
  the annual awards help customers identify the best used cars across a
  range of categories.<br />
  <br />In addition to claiming the headline accolade, the BMW 3 Series
  also topped the Best Compact Executive Car category, “proving it’s a
  car that has everything”, said Paul Barker, Editor of Auto Express.
  “It drives well, is practical and well-equipped and best answers the
  question where Auto Express team would spend their own money.” With
  its diverse lineup of powertrains and body styles, “From efficient
  diesels to hybrids or high-power petrol models, and saloon or Touring
  estate, there’s a 3 Series for everyone,” he added.<br />
  <br />The MINI Convertible was also firm favourite, retaining its
  position as Best Used Convertible. Auto Express’ “champion drop-top”
  impressed with its “cheeky looks and great handling.” It’s a car “that
  easily puts a smile on your face,” Barker concluded.<br />
  <br />
  <strong>BMW 3 Series awarded Premium Used Car of the Year at Motor
    Trader Industry Awards.<br /></strong>Adding a further award to its
  cabinet, the BMW 3 Series was unveiled as Premium Used Car of the Year
  at the annual Motor Trader Industry Awards. The judging panel
  described the BMW 3 Series as “the ‘gold standard’ for affordable,
  driver-focused transport in the premium segment”, praising its
  “brilliantly connected driving experience” and versatile selection of powertrains.<br />
  <br />
  <strong>Success for BMW Group at the Autovista Residual Value
  Awards.<br /></strong>BMW Group collected three accolades at the 2025
  Autovista Residual Value Awards. Evaluated across seventeen European
  countries and based on insightful data, these awards recognise
  vehicles that demonstrate excellent value retention across a number of categories.<br />
  <br />The BMW 1 Series topped the Compact Car category, “attracting
  buyers with its promise of premium quality, sporty driving dynamics,
  and advanced technology”, said Autovista. Meanwhile, MINI secured two
  titles, as the MINI Aceman emerged as best Small BEV, and the MINI
  Cooper retained its position as leader of the Small Car category. The
  MINI Aceman was described as “a fresh and fashionable entry into the
  premium small BEV market”, while the MINI Cooper was commended for its
  reputation as “fun to drive”, combined with a “high-quality interior
  and extensive customisation options.”<br />
  <br />
  <strong>BMW Group secures two headline accolades at the Fleet News
    FN50 Awards.<br /></strong>Widely recognised as setting the standard
  for industry excellence, the annual Fleet News FN50 Awards acknowledge
  success and innovation across the UK’s automotive sector. This year,
  BMW Group triumphed securing both headline awards: Most Reliable
  Carmaker and Most Reliable Car - awarded to the BMW 3 Series.<br />
  <br />Reflecting on BMW Group’s success, Andrew Jago, General Manager,
  Corporate Sales BMW Group UK commented, “Once again, data from the
  UK’s 50 largest leasing companies has confirmed BMW Group as the most
  reliable carmaker based on breakdown and warranty claims. This is the
  tenth occasion that BMW and MINI have shared this accolade,
  underlining our commitment to quality and consistency.<br />
  <br />We are equally proud that the BMW 3-Series retains its title as
  the most reliable car for the sixth consecutive year. After 50 years
  and seven generations, the world’s bestselling premium car is the

  Car Awards, after retaining the prestigious Fleet Manufacturer of the
  Year title for a fourth consecutive year. In addition to the headline
  accolade, BMW secured three further category wins across its diverse
  product portfolio, with the BMW i4, BMW M5 and the recently unveiled
  BMW iX3 each receiving recognition.<br />
  <br />On presenting the title award, Martyn Collins, Editor of
  Business Car said, “With its product portfolio, BMW continues to make
  significant strides with electrification. It now offers an extensive
  and class-leading range of all-electric and plug-in hybrid models to
  cater to diverse customer needs. Elsewhere, BMW continues its
  commitment to growing its fleet business every year, by adapting to
  changing market conditions, and ensuring the needs of fleet customers
  are met.<br />
  <br />
  <strong>The BMW i4 retains its status as Best Premium
  Car.<br /></strong>Updated last year with a refreshed exterior design
  and an elevated interior, the BMW i4 added a 26th accolade
  to its cabinet last night, after it was named Business Car’s Best
  Premium Car for the second consecutive year. <br />
  <br />“The BMW i4’s reign at the Business Car Awards seems
  unassailable,” judges commented, as the Gran Coupé secured its third
  Business Car award in the last three years. “Following a recent
  facelift, newer electric and ICE-powered rivals still can’t topple
  this EV, which offers an enviable package of competitive and
  trustworthy electric range, the expected BMW driver appeal, and a
  practical hatchback design,” they continued.<br />
  <br />
  <strong>Business Car’s Driver’s Choice award presented to the BMW
  M5.<br /></strong>Now a viable choice for corporate customers and
  fleets thanks to its new electrified powertrain, the BMW M5 received
  its first-ever Business Car award, claiming the top spot as ‘Driver’s
  Choice’ for 2025. Not only a “performance icon” but “an innovator
  too,” the seventh-generation BMW M5 “moves the model on significantly
  and is now a plug-in hybrid,” said Collins. “Don’t think it has gone
  soft, however, as the saloon and Touring estate models are still a
  very complete way to go very fast. Despite having more than 700hp, the
  M5 is also easy and involving to drive,” he added. This recognition is
  testament to the BMW M5’s exceptional versatility, offering a unique
  combination of devastating performance and a usable all-electric range
  of up to 43 miles (WLTP1).<br />
  <br />
  <strong>The all-new BMW iX3 stands out as Business Car’s ‘One to
  Watch’.<br /></strong>Recently unveiled at the IAA Mobility and
  ushering a new era for the brand, the all-new BMW iX3 stood out as
  Business Car’s ‘One to Watch’. Predicted to “attract the attention of
  fleet buyers thanks to its all-new Neue Klasse underpinnings,” the SAV
  impressed judges with its “slimmer batteries, more efficient motors
  and clever technology.” With a single-charge range of up to 500 miles
  (WLTP2), the BMW iX3 is the UK’s longest-range battery
  electric vehicle, bringing a compelling offering for business
  customers with its exceptional driving dynamics and trailblazing technology.<br />
  <br />Reflecting on BMW Group’s success, Andrew Jago, General Manager,
  Corporate Sales at BMW Group UK, said, “We are delighted to retain
  Business Car’s Fleet Manufacturer of the Year title for a fourth
  consecutive year. This accolade recognises the consistently high
  standards and commitment of our BMW and MINI teams, our retailers, and
  the strength of the BMW and MINI product range for corporate
  customers. Our product proposition will be further strengthened in the
  months ahead when our customers have their first opportunity to
  experience the groundbreaking all-new BMW iX3 and subsequent Neue
  Klasse models.”<br />

<p> </p>
<p>BMW proudly presents the first series-produced Neue Klasse model, the
  all-new BMW iX3. The next-generation Sports Activity Vehicle (SAV)
  pioneers a new era of sheer driving pleasure, introducing an all-new
  design language and a broad spectrum of technological advancements,
  which collectively give the impression that an entire vehicle
  generation has been skipped. <br />
  <br />The launch of the new BMW iX3 represents a significant milestone
  in the BMW Group’s transformation towards improved electrification,
  digitalisation and circularity. Spearheading the arrival of the Neue
  Klasse, the BMW iX3 ushers in new innovations in design and technology
  which will shape the entire future BMW product portfolio. The
  technologies of the Neue Klasse will be incorporated into a total of
  40 new models and model updates between now and 2027.<br />
  <br />
  <strong>“The Neue Klasse is our biggest future-focused project and
    marks a huge leap forward in terms of technologies, driving
    experience and design,”</strong> says Oliver Zipse, Chairman of the
  Board of Management of BMW AG. <strong>“Practically everything about
    it is new, yet it is also more BMW than ever. Our whole product
    range will benefit from the innovations brought by the Neue Klasse –
    whichever drive system technology is employed. What started as a
    bold vision has now become reality: the BMW iX3 is the first Neue
    Klasse model to go into series production. We are not only bringing
    the next generation of one of our most successful fully electric
    vehicles onto the road, we are launching a new era for BMW.”</strong>
  <br />
  <br />Designed specifically for the Neue Klasse, the new BMW iX3
  premieres BMW Group’s sixth-generation eDrive technology, which
  comprises highly efficient electric motors, new high-voltage batteries
  with cylindrical cells, and 800-volt technology to set new benchmarks
  in efficiency and long-distance capability. The result is a
  single-charge range of up to 500 miles (WLTP1), making the
  new BMW iX3 50 xDrive (electric power consumption, combined: 17.9 –
  15.1 kWh/62 miles; CO<sub>2 </sub>class: A; range: 421 – 500 miles;
  provisional figures as per WLTP) the longest-range battery electric
  vehicle (BEV) on sale on the UK market today as measured under the
  WLTP test cycle. Meanwhile, a maximum charging rate of 400 kW enables
  BMW iX3 50 xDrive drivers to add up to 231 miles of range to their BMW
  iX3 in just ten minutes at an 800V direct current (DC) rapid charging
  station, representing a 30 per cent increase in charging speed
  compared with fifth-generation BMW eDrive technology. With the sixth
  generation, energy losses are reduced by 40 per cent, weight by 10 per
  cent and manufacturing costs by 20 per cent.<br />
  <br />A new digital nervous system, developed from scratch for all BMW
  Group drive system variants and model segments, makes its debut in the
  new BMW iX3. At its core are four “superbrain” high-performance
  computers, which cover driving dynamics, automated driving,
  infotainment, and basic comfort functions such as vehicle access,
  climate control and seat adjustment. <br />
  <br />The “Heart of Joy” superbrain elevates the entire driving
  experience, providing unparalleled handling, dynamism and precision.
  Responsible for the drive system, brakes, charging, energy
  recuperation and steering subfunctions, the Heart of Joy teams with
  the BMW Dynamic Performance Control software stack – developed
  completely in-house – to compute all driving functions up to 10 times
  faster than conventional control units. The Heart of Joy significantly
  improves efficiency, enabling 98 per cent of braking manoeuvres in the
  BMW iX3 to be performed solely by energy recuperation. The “superbrain
  of automated driving” brings together all automated driving and
  parking functions, optimises symbiotic human-vehicle interaction and
  offers 20 times more processing power than traditional units. <br />
  <br />Inside the cabin, the revolutionary BMW Panoramic iDrive,
  powered by BMW Operating System X, redefines the digital user
  experience and sets new standards for intuitive, driver-focussed
  interaction – emphasising BMW’s “hands on the wheel, eyes on the road”
  principle. The system consists of four key components: the BMW
  Panoramic Vision display, which spans the entire windscreen; the
  optional BMW 3D Head-Up Display, featuring integrated navigation and
  automated driving information with spatial depth; the driver-oriented
  newly designed Central Display; and the new multi-function steering
  wheel, which serves as the primary physical control point.<br />
  <br />Alongside these significant technological advances, the BMW iX3
  introduces a completely new design language, which will be adopted by
  the entire future BMW model line-up. This new approach leverages
  technological advancements to enable bold design changes, while
  retaining hallmark BMW styling features. Reduced to the essentials,
  the exterior design has a strong contemporary appearance, defined by
  precise lines, expansive glass surfaces and an upright front end where
  the iconic BMW kidney grille and twin headlights take centre stage. <br />
  <br />Inside, the cabin puts the driver at the heart of a clean,
  minimalist layout built around the new Panoramic iDrive. The
  wrap-around cockpit design flows into the door panels, while
  passengers benefit from noticeably increased rear legroom compared
  with the predecessor. The standard interior features Econeer seat
  fabrics made from recycled materials in a light Vivid Grey finish,
  with other sustainable surfaces reinforcing the leather-free approach.<br />
  <br />With the launch of the Neue Klasse, the BMW Group has
  intensified its efforts to increase circularity and reduce CO2
  emissions. A holistic approach to minimising the product carbon
  footprint (CO2e) spans the entire vehicle life cycle, from
  a circularity-orientated product development phase and a supply chain
  optimised by the systematic use of renewable energy and secondary
  materials, through to production, the use phase of the vehicle and its
  subsequent recycling. Guided by a ‘secondary first’ principle, which
  prioritises recycled over newly extracted raw materials where
  possible, around a third of the BMW iX3 is made from secondary
  sources, including marine plastics, secondary aluminium and PET
  textiles. As a result, the product carbon footprint of the new BMW iX3
  50 xDrive over its life cycle is reduced by more than 30 per cent
  compared with its predecessor.<br />
  <br />The new BMW iX3 will be available for purchase in the UK in
  three distinct trim levels: iX3, iX3 M Sport and iX3 M Sport Pro, each
  offering a comprehensive range of standard equipment. Key standard
  features include 20-inch alloy wheels, under-bonnet storage, an
  electrically operated charging flap, heated front seats with electric
  adjustment, Driving Assistant Plus with automatic cruise control, and
  charging capabilities of  up to 400 kW DC / 11kW AC. The iX3 M Sport
  trim adds M exterior styling, 20-inch M Sport alloy wheels, a sports
  steering wheel, translucent dashboard lighting, and Veganza/M
  PerformTex upholstery. Customers who select the iX3 M Sport Pro trim
  additionally benefit from upgraded M Sport seats, an M high-gloss
  black rear diffuser, M Sport brakes with red-painted callipers, BMW
  Iconic Glow, Adaptive LED headlights, and a Shadowline glass 3D kidney grille.<br />
  <br />The first Neue Klasse model will be built at the newly
  constructed BMW Group Plant Debrecen in Hungary, the first BMW Group
  plant that does not use fossil fuels in normal operation. Series
  production commences in autumn 2025, with the first UK customer
  deliveries of the BMW iX3 50 xDrive taking place on 7 March, 2026.<br />
  <br />The new BMW iX3 40 is priced from 53,250 OTR, while the BMW iX3
  50 xDrive starts from £58,755 OTR.<br />

  <strong>An all-new design language that paves the way for the entire
    BMW future model range. <br /></strong>With the new BMW iX3, BMW
  introduces its new design language, which will soon be adopted across
  its entire future product portfolio. This new approach is bold,
  reduced and rich in character, and brings a contemporary feel to
  hallmark BMW styling cues. The new BMW iX3 showcases the design
  attributes of the Neue Klasse in the form of a SAV.<br />
  <br />
  <strong>“The design of the Neue Klasse provides a very modern
    interpretation of what BMW has always stood for,”</strong> says
  Adrian van Hooydonk, Head of BMW Group Design. <strong>“With our new
    design language, the new BMW iX3 looks future-focused, modern and
    timeless – but, above all, more BMW than ever.”</strong></p>
<p>
  <strong>
    <br />A new exterior design with familiar SAV proportions.</strong>
  <br />Measuring 4,782 mm in length, 1,895 mm in width and 1,635 mm in
  height, the new BMW iX3 embodies staple BMW SAV proportions. Its
  distinctive two-box design combines the rugged presence of a BMW X
  model with large surfaces and clear lines, highlighting all four
  wheels. The wheelbase measures 2,897 mm, with track widths of 1,628 mm
  at the front and 1,633 mm at the rear. Optimised aerodynamics result
  in a drag coefficient (Cd) of 0.24.<br />
  <br />Designed solely around an all-electric powertrain, the new BMW
  iX3 offers an impressive exterior-footprint-to-interior-space ratio,
  with generous space for passengers and storage. The luggage
  compartment can be increased from 520 litres to a maximum of 1,750
  litres with the rear seats folded flat in a 40/20/40 ratio, while an
  additional storage compartment under the bonnet holds a further 58
  litres of cargo. Customers needing extra storage capability may
  specify their BMW iX3 with an electrically operated tow bar, where the
  maximum towing capacity for the 50 xDrive model variant is 2,000 kg. <br />
  <br />With its upright front end, the new BMW iX3 has a commanding
  presence. Large air intakes and a black band in the lower portion of
  the bumper contribute to its sporty appearance, while reduced surface
  treatment helps emphasise prominent design features. Paying clear
  homage to the Neue Klasse of the 1960s, the new sculpted BMW kidneys
  are vertically arranged. Positioned either side are new headlights
  featuring vertical daytime running lights, complemented by a new
  distinctive horizontal light signature spanning the width of the
  vehicle. The optional BMW Iconic Glow for the BMW kidneys further
  enhances the front-end design.<br />
  <br />Clear lines and large surfaces seamlessly flow into the side
  profile of the new BMW iX3, appearing as if the design has been cut
  from a single mould. In traditional BMW X-style, wheel arches are
  finished in body colour with subtle rectangular contours. Large glass
  areas with hidden seals bring a light and open feel to the cabin,
  while a downward-sloping roofline contributes to optimised
  aerodynamics. Newly designed flush door handles extend automatically
  when the user approaches with their BMW Digital Key. <br />
  <br />A heavily tapered and pronounced shoulder section defines the
  rear of the vehicle. Horizontally arranged tail lights in the familiar
  L-shape design – also with a new light signature – span the entire
  mid-section, where individual light sources are split through several
  increments to create a sense of depth. The roofline is finished with a
  new roof spoiler, featuring a central recess, which continues down
  into the space between the rear lights to host the updated BMW roundel.<br />
  <br />New acoustic and visual welcome and goodbye animations enhance
  the exterior design. A reduced sequence of effects is offered as
  standard, while the optional BMW Iconic Glow brings additional
  sequences in Relaxed, Balanced and Excited styles. These effects add
  theatre when approaching the vehicle, continuing inside the cabin via
  the BMW Panoramic Vision and Central Display as the driver takes their seat.<br />
  <br />
  <strong>The interior design: a contemporary space oriented around the
    driver with exceptional comfort for all passengers.</strong>
  <br />The new BMW iX3 has a contemporary and minimalist interior
  design, which sets the stage for a trailblazing and intuitive digital
  experience. In typical BMW fashion, the entire cockpit is oriented
  around the driver, while a new vehicle architecture – designed solely
  for all-electric models – helps provide generous space in all five
  seats. The lines of the “floating” instrument panel flow directly into
  the large door trim panels, creating an enveloping wrap-around effect.
  With its fabric surface, the instrument panel – with optional
  atmospheric backlighting – helps curate a warm and inviting atmosphere
  throughout the cockpit. Large windows and a full-length panoramic
  sunroof, available optionally with sun protection glass, flood the
  interior with natural light.<br />
  <br />A newly designed steering wheel features pronounced thumb rests
  and multi-function buttons for intuitive operation. Redesigned seats
  offer high levels of comfort and are clad with a reduced amount of
  plastic trim for an elegant appearance. The driver and front passenger
  seats are heated and electrically adjustable as standard and the rear
  seat bench has a single sofa-like surface. Also electrically operated
  are new door openers at both the front and rear, with controls
  conveniently positioned behind the window buttons on the pull handles.<br />
  <br />The centre console offers further storage and features an
  entirely new design. A storage area beneath the armrest houses a 12V
  power supply, while the front section of the centre console is
  complete with a wireless charging tray with room for two mobile
  devices, two USB-C ports and two cup holders separated by a triangular
  illuminated trim element. The space behind it houses the gear
  selector, a roller switch for volume control and physical buttons for
  the parking brake, rear window heating, windscreen defrosting and
  hazard warning lights. Additional storage is offered below the centre console.<br />
  <br />
  <strong>BMW Panoramic iDrive, BMW Operating System X and infotainment.</strong>
  <br />The new BMW iX3 is the first series-production model equipped
  with the revolutionary BMW Panoramic iDrive, which sets out to
  redefine the user experience. Bringing together displays, geometry and
  light and sound design into a holistic experience, the system’s look
  and feel is customisable via the My Modes menu. Adding to the user
  experience are the new driving sounds, sound effects and sound signals
  of the BMW HypersonX soundscape, created specifically for the Neue Klasse.<br />
  <br />With its well-judged balance of digital functions and physical
  components, BMW Panoramic iDrive elevates intuitive driver-focussed
  operation in line with BMW’s “hands on the wheel, eyes on the road”
  principle. The trailblazing system was born out of decades of
  experience and developed following a user-centric design approach,
  where data from over 10 million connected vehicles and usability
  studies from more than 3,000 customers were all incorporated into its
  development process. Physical controls are on hand for the windscreen
  wipers, indicators, exterior mirrors, volume control, gear selector,
  parking brake, hazard warning lights, and the rear window heating and
  defrost function. Meanwhile, other functions have been optimised for
  use by touch and voice command, or via the multifunction steering
  wheel. <br />
  <br />The BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant has been significantly
  upgraded and now includes two new voices, a new appearance for the BMW
  Panoramic Vision and additional assistance for the driver through
  proactive suggestions and personalised routines. Large Language Model
  technology will be gradually introduced to enable even more intuitive
  voice interaction in the future.<br />
  <br />BMW Panoramic iDrive brings together four central elements into
  a unique display and control/operation system. The BMW Panoramic
  Vision projects information across the full width of the windscreen –
  from A-pillar to A-pillar – where key driving information appears
  directly in the driver’s field of vision. Meanwhile, content projected
  in the centre and front passenger side of the display can be
  customised to personal tastes and requirements. Located above the BMW
  Panoramic Vision is the new BMW 3D Head-Up Display, available
  optionally, which projects integrated navigation and automated driving
  displays on the road with spatial depth. The free-cut-design Central
  Display with matrix backlight technology is positioned ergonomically
  next to the steering wheel. On the driver’s side, vertically arranged
  widgets enable fast and direct access to frequently used functions
  using QuickSelect technology. The new multifunction steering wheel
  serves as the primary physical control point. Its button panels help
  the driver and vehicle to work together symbiotically using
  illuminations, a textured surface and haptic feedback.<br />
  <br />Underpinning BMW Panoramic iDrive is the newly developed BMW
  Operating System X, which brings a multitude of personalisation
  options via the user’s BMW ID, intelligent driver assistance, an array
  of digital functions, extensive connectivity using the My BMW App and
  outstanding future-proofing thanks to remote BMW Software Updates.  <br />
  <br />The standard-fit navigation system, BMW Maps, includes an
  upgrade for charging-optimised route guidance, along with an
  intelligently coordinated display of information across the BMW
  Panoramic Vision, Central Display, and 3D Head-Up Display, when
  specified. When a DC charger is set in BMW Maps, the iX3 automatically
  pre-conditions the high-voltage battery to the optimal temperature for
  faster charging, with manual and My BMW App control also available. A
  MAX RANGE function in My Mode Efficient can extend range by up to 25
  per cent by carefully limiting drive power and top speed and scaling
  back selected comfort functions.</p>
<p>BMW Operating System X additionally features a wide range of
  entertainment options for both road trips and charging stops. These
  include music streaming apps like Spotify, in-car gaming through
  AirConsole, and a new video streaming app that offers access to
  Disney+, YouTube, and various international and country-specific
  on-demand and live video platforms. The Zoom App for video calls has
  also been integrated.<br />
  <br />The BMW ConnectedDrive Store provides an overview of the
  features customers can currently download or access, which can be
  added easily and flexibly through ConnectedDrive Upgrades. The BMW
  ConnectedDrive Store also hosts over 60 third-party apps, covering
  music and audio, entertainment, gaming, news, and travel, with local
  categories available worldwide. To download and use features and apps,
  customers will need access to connectivity via BMW Digital Premium or
  a Wi-Fi network/smartphone hotspot. With BMW Digital Premium,
  customers can enjoy extensive safety functions, extended navigation
  features, unlimited data for entertainment and all-new BMW M Apps.<br />
  <br />
  <strong>Sixth-generation BMW eDrive technology: higher efficiency,
    more range, faster charging.</strong>
  <br />Developed specifically for the Neue Klasse, sixth-generation BMW
  eDrive technology comprises highly efficient electric motors, new
  high-voltage batteries with cylindrical cells, and 800V technology.
  The BMW iX3 50 xDrive is powered by two electric motors, which
  together generate an output of 469 hp and 645 Nm of torque. Meanwhile,
  the BMW iX3 40 is powered by a single rear-mounted, electrically
  excited synchronous motor (EESM) producing 320 hp4 and 500
  Nm of torque. The BMW iX3 50 xDrive accelerates from 0 to 62 mph in
  4.9 seconds and reaches an electronically limited top speed of 130
  mph. The BMW iX3 40 completes the same sprint in 5.9
  seconds4 before topping out at 124 mph. The BMW iX3 50
  xDrive features an extensively upgraded electric all-wheel-drive
  configuration, consisting of a highly efficient, electrically excited
  synchronous motor (EESM) at the rear axle and an asynchronous motor
  (ASM) with a compact design at the front axle. Overall, the drive
  technology developed for the Neue Klasse reduces energy losses by 40
  per cent, weight by 10 per cent and manufacturing costs by 20 per cent
  compared to fifth-generation BMW eDrive technology.<br />
  <br />The use of cylindrical cells as part of the high-voltage battery
  concept promotes further advancements. This design results in a 20 per
  cent increase in energy density at the cell level and 30 per cent
  faster charging speeds compared to fifth-generation BMW eDrive
  technology. The integration of cells directly into the high-voltage
  battery (“cell to pack”) benefits energy density and cost efficiency,
  while weight is minimised through the integration of the high-voltage
  battery into vehicle architecture as a structural component (“pack to
  open body”). The high-voltage battery in the BMW iX3 50 xDrive has a
  usable energy content of 108.7 kWh, enabling a range of up to 500
  miles in the WLTP cycle.<br />
  <br />
  <strong>Reduced charging times and the premiere of bidirectional charging.</strong>
  <br />The advances brought by sixth-generation BMW eDrive technology
  significantly enhance the overall charging experience. Thanks to
  innovative battery management technology with an integrated switching
  matrix, developed completely in-house by the BMW Group, the new BMW
  iX3 can be charged at 400V DC filling stations. In the case of the BMW
  iX3 50 xDrive, a maximum charging rate of 400 kW enables users to add
  up to 231 miles2 of range in just ten minutes, while
  charging from 10 to 80 per cent takes just 21 minutes. The BMW iX3 50
  xDrive can be charged via alternating current (AC) at a rate of 11 kW
  as standard, or 22 kW when the AC Charging Professional package is specified.<br />
  <br />The BMW iX3 40 has a maximum charging rate of 300 kW4
  when plugged into an 800V DC charging station. Doing so enables the
  vehicle to be topped up with enough energy to add up to 186
  miles4 to its range in just 10 minutes. The energy content
  of the high-voltage battery can be increased from 10 to 80 per cent of
  its capacity in just 21 minutes when charging via DC. Charging using
  alternating current (AC) at a rate of up to 11 kW is possible as standard.<br />
  <br />The AC Charging Professional Package additionally features
  bidirectional charging, marking its debut for the BMW brand. The range
  of standard-fit and optional charging accessories has been
  significantly expanded. For flexible charging during journeys,
  customers can make use of the new optional Multifunction Charger,
  which, in conjunction with a range of adapters, can easily facilitate
  charging and discharging of the high-voltage battery – for example, to
  charge or power personal devices. The new BMW iX3 is prepared for
  bidirectional charging, offering Vehicle-to-Home capability of up to
  11 kW with a compatible wallbox and Vehicle-to-Load of up to 3.7 kW.<br />
  <br />The new BMW iX3 features an intelligent charging flap, which
  uses artificial intelligence to detect when a user intends to connect
  or remove a charging cable, opening and closing the flap accordingly.
  With sixth-generation BMW eDrive technology, the current charging
  speed and curve can be viewed in the My BMW App. Up to ten individual
  charging contracts from various suppliers are displayed digitally
  inside the new BMW iX3, enabling use of the Plug & Charge Multi
  Contract function, which allows customers to simply park, plug-in and
  go at supported charge points.<br />
  <br />
  <strong>A pioneering new electronics architecture powered by four “superbrains”.</strong>
  <br />The new BMW iX3 debuts a trailblazing new electronics
  architecture comprising four high-performance computers known as
  “superbrains”. These control units pool their processing power for
  driving dynamics, automated driving, infotainment and
  comfort-enhancing functions, as well as providing the basis for a new
  software architecture that can be continuously upgraded, and therefore
  designed to incorporate future functionality updates including
  AI-enabled features.<br />
  <br />The new digital nervous system consists of a wiring harness
  divided into four zones. This system reduces weight by 30 per cent
  compared to the technology previously used and reduces the wiring
  required by around 600 metres. Digital “smart eFuses” are another new
  technology introduced with the new BMW iX3, enabling intelligent power
  modes for different vehicle states which contribute to improvements in
  the vehicle’s overall efficiency.<br />
  <br />
  <strong>The Heart of Joy: elevating Sheer Driving Pleasure to a new level.</strong>
  <br />As one of four superbrains in the electronics architecture of
  the Neue Klasse, the Heart of Joy looks after the drivetrain and
  management of driving dynamics. Together with the BMW Dynamic
  Performance Control software stack – developed completely in house –
  this high-performance control unit is responsible for the drivetrain,
  brakes, energy recuperation and steering subfunctions, and processes
  information up to ten times faster than conventional units. <br />
  <br />With the Heart of Joy, drivers benefit from instantaneous power
  delivery and smooth power transfer, in addition to outstanding
  agility, stability and efficiency. Every movement of the accelerator,
  brake pedal and steering is executed directly with assurance and
  precision. Other benefits include supreme traction and – thanks to the
  unique Soft Stop function – the smoothest stopping process ever
  achieved by a BMW. Efficiency is optimised by the integrated
  management of the drivetrain, braking system and energy recuperation.
  As a result, 98 per cent of braking manoeuvres in the BMW iX3 can be
  performed without utilising friction brakes.<br />
  <br />
  <strong>Next-generation driver assistance systems and BMW Symbiotic Drive.</strong>
  <br />All automated driving and parking functions in the new BMW iX3
  are managed by the “superbrain of automated driving”, providing 20
  times more processing power than conventional control units.<br />
  <br />Redefining human-vehicle interaction, the BMW iX3 pairs its
  Symbiotic Drive capabilities with driver assistance functions to
  curate an unparalleled driving experience, where acceleration, braking
  and steering inputs merge seamlessly and intuitively with AI-enabled
  software. For example, the automatic cruise control function is no
  longer deactivated with a light press of the brake pedal; instead, it
  is only switched off when the driver brakes harder. Meanwhile, the
  functionality offered by the City Assistant includes traffic light
  detection, causing the vehicle to stop and then move off again when
  the lights change. <br />
  <br />
  <strong>Equipment and personalisation options to enhance driving
    pleasure, comfort and versatility.</strong>
  <br />The new BMW iX3 will be available from launch with one solid and
  five metallic exterior paint colours, including Polarised Grey and
  Ocean Wave Blue – available exclusively for this model – with a
  further three finishes coming to the range from spring 2026. 20-inch
  alloy wheels are fitted as standard, or customers can select from a
  selection of 20-, 21- and 22-inch light-alloy wheels from the options
  list. The range also includes BMW M and BMW Individual light-alloy
  wheels, with some in an aerodynamically and weight-optimised Air
  Performance specification.<br />
  <br />UK customers can tailor the design of their new BMW iX3 with the
  choice of three well-specified trim variants: iX3, iX3 M Sport and iX3
  M Sport Pro. The entry-level iX3 trim offers heated front seats, which
  can be electrically adjusted in six ways; a wireless charging tray;
  electric folding mirrors; leather-free Econeer upholstery; smartphone
  integration, including Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and dual-zone
  climate control.<br />
  <br />The iX3 M Sport trim level brings 20-inch M light-alloy wheels;
  M Sport brakes, finished with blue callipers; M exterior styling,
  including trim-specific front and rear bumpers; side skirts; an M rear
  diffuser and a sports steering wheel. M Sport customers also benefit
  from ambient lighting, featuring translucent dashboard lighting;
  exterior M logo projection; an M interior trim design and a Veganza/M
  PerformTex leather-alternative upholstery. <br />
  <br />The most comprehensive trim level, iX3 M Sport Pro adds 10-way
  electrically adjustable heated front M Sport seats, an M Black
  High-Gloss rear diffuser, M Sport brakes equipped with red callipers,
  an M-specific steering wheel and black exterior mirror caps. The
  front-end design is further enhanced by a Shadowline Glass 3D kidney
  grille, complemented by BMW Iconic Glow and Adaptive LED Headlights
  for maximum visibility.<br />
  <br />In addition to these trim levels, drivers can opt to specify
  their new BMW iX3 with the Technology Plus Package, bringing
  three-zone automatic climate control, the BMW 3D Head-Up Display and
  an acoustically-optimised Harman Kardon surround-sound system. A
  variety of single options can also be selected, including steering
  wheel heating, Adaptive M Suspension, a tow bar, BMW Iconic Glow, sun
  protection glass and AC Charging Professional, enabling 22 kW
  bidirectional AC charging. From March 2026, a white BMW Individual
  steering wheel in combination with Digital White Veganza upholstery
  and roof rails offering additional practicality will be available for
  specification. <br />
  <br />
  <strong>A holistic approach to circularity and CO2 reduction.</strong>
  <br />With the launch of the Neue Klasse, the BMW Group has further
  intensified its efforts to increase circularity and reduce
  CO2 emissions. A holistic approach was taken to minimise
  the product carbon footprint of the new BMW iX3, from
  circularity-focussed product development and a supply chain optimised
  by the systematic use of secondary materials and renewable energy to
  production, the vehicle’s use phase and its subsequent recycling. <br />
  <br />A variety of measures were employed to ensure that the product
  carbon footprint of the new BMW iX3 50 xDrive is 34 per cent smaller
  than its predecessor over its full life cycle – as measured in CO2
  equivalents over 200,000 kilometres (124,260 miles). This means that,
  when using energy sourced from the European electricity mix, it will
  have a smaller product carbon footprint (based on overall life cycle)
  than a comparable combustion-engine model once it has covered around
  21,500 kilometres (13,358 miles). If the car is charged exclusively
  using electricity from renewable sources, it only needs to clock up
  17,500 kilometres (10,873 miles) before it reaches the same point.<br />
  <br />Approximately one third of the new BMW iX3 is made from
  secondary raw materials. Examples include the thermoplastic components
  for the motor compartment; the storage space under the bonnet and its
  cover, made from 30 per cent<sup>3</sup> recycled marine plastic;
  Econeer seat upholstery, produced using 100 per cent3
  recycled PET textiles; and yarn containing 100 per cent3
  recycled materials used for the headlining and floor mats. Elsewhere,
  aluminium consisting of 80 per cent secondary raw materials forms the
  swivel bearings and hub carriers as part of the chassis construction,
  while alloy wheels are cast from 70-per-cent-secondary aluminium. <br />
  <br />Overall, the product carbon footprint of the supply chain for
  the BMW iX3 50 xDrive is reduced by 35 per cent. This circular
  approach is also applied during the vehicle’s production phase at the
  newly developed BMW Group Plant Debrecen in Hungary, the first BMW
  Group plant where no fossil fuels are used during normal operation.
  Additionally, thanks to all-new sixth-generation BMW eDrive technology
  and other BMW EfficientDynamics measures, the new model is 20 per cent
  more efficient during its use phase compared to its predecessor. <br />
  <br />Series production of the new BMW iX3 commences in autumn 2025 at
  BMW Group Plant Debrecen, with the first UK customer deliveries of the
  BMW iX3 50 xDrive taking place on 7 March, 2026. Further variants of
  the BMW iX3 will follow, including a new entry-level model. The new
  BMW iX3 50 xDrive is priced from £58,755 OTR.</p>

  strong recognition across a broad range of segments. Five awards were
  presented at last night’s Auto Express New Car Awards, including two
  wins for the newly revised BMW iX. Also announced this week was
  EcoCar’s Electrified Top 50 for 2025, which featured a double win for
  the BMW i5, alongside recognition for the BMW iX, BMW i7 and BMW 330e.
  The BMW iX3 and BMW i4 further contributed to BMW’s winning streak,
  after each took a top spot at the 2025 Autotrader Driver’s Choice
  Awards, based on feedback from British car owners.<br />
  <br />
  <strong>BMW claims five accolades at the Auto Express New Car Awards
  2025.<br /></strong>BMW proudly collected five awards at last night’s
  Auto Express New Car Awards, judged by the title’s expert automotive
  editorial team. The awards are designed to help car buyers choose the
  best models on the market, with judging based on practicality,
  efficiency, price, reliability and the overall driving experience.<br />
  <br />Congratulating BMW on its achievements this year, Auto Express
  Editor Paul Barker said: “Five separate awards across four of its
  models highlights the strength and depth of BMW’s range, with cars as
  diverse as the sporty 2 Series Coupé and big iX electric SUV picked
  out by our judges as the best at what they do... “BMW manages to keep
  driving pleasure core to its cars’ appeal without sacrificing
  practicality or efficiency, and we’re delighted it keeps producing the goods.”<br />
  <br />The new BMW iX was presented with two awards on the night,
  recognising it as both Premium SUV of the Year and Premium Electric
  Car of the Year. Describing the iX as “a hugely impressive premium
  SUV” which has “got even better with its recent update”, Auto Express
  judges commended the technology flagship for its “stunning interior”
  and a driving experience which “completely belies its size and
  weight”. It’s “hugely practical” and “a brilliant and comfortable
  long-distance cruiser”, judges added.<br />
  <br />In the Premium Mid-sized SUV category, the BMW X3 stood out
  among the competition, with the latest generation described as “moving
  the game on”. “It had an awful lot to live up to, considering how good
  its predecessor was,” said judges. Yet the new BMW X3 continues to
  deliver, impressing the panel with its diverse powertrains, innovative
  technology, cabin quality and practicality, with “almost no flaws.”<br />
  <br />The publication’s preferred Premium Hybrid was the BMW 530e,
  with this latest award further reinforcing the eighth-generation 5
  Series’ reputation as the world’s most successful business saloon.
  “Great range figures from the battery and electric motor combined with
  an engaging drive, plush cabin and cutting-edge tech gives the BMW
  530e an edge over any of its rivals,” Barker commented. “It's
  comfortable and refined on the motorway but fun when you're off the
  main roads – our favourite premium hybrid car.”<br />
  <br />The fourth and final BMW to receive praise at the ceremony was
  the BMW 2 Series Coupé, after it was named Premium Coupé of the Year.
  Speaking on the win, Barker said, “The 2 Series Coupé feels like an
  old-school BMW, in a good way. Its simple front-engine, rear-drive
  layout delivers a hugely engaging driving experience in compact and
  nimble dimensions, and the crowning glory is the incredible M2.”<br />
  <br />
  <strong>Five awards presented to BMW at the EcoCar Electrified Top 50
    Awards 2025.</strong>
  <br />Held annually, the EcoCar Electrified Top 50 counts down the
  very best cars in the electrified world, encompassing a wide variety
  of electrified powertrains from mild hybrid to fully electric. The BMW
  330e, BMW i7 and BMW i5 all featured in this year’s shortlist, while
  the new BMW iX placed fifth in the overall rankings. In addition, each
  model topped its respective category, with the BMW i5 securing a
  double win. <br />
  <br />Now offering up to 63 miles (WLTP1) of all-electric
  range, the recently refreshed BMW 330e was voted EcoCar’s Best Plug-in
  Hybrid Compact Executive Car, described as the “ideal” choice for
  “business users and urban drivers alike.” Speaking on the win, judges
  said, “The 2.0-litre petrol engine and electric motor work in seamless
  tandem, while the handling remains benchmark-sharp. Subtle styling
  tweaks and an improved infotainment system further cement its
  all-round appeal.”<br />
  <br />Next to be recognised was the BMW i7, which took home the award
  for Best Electric Luxury Car. “As luxury EVs go, few can match the
  serenity and spectacle of the BMW i7,” said EcoCar. Praised for its
  substantial single-charge range, “limousine levels of comfort” and
  “jaw-dropping” rear-seat theatre screen, the flagship saloon was also
  commended by judges for its “exceptional” refinement, “effortless”
  performance and for a technology package that manages to be
  “futuristic without being overwhelming.”<br />
  <br />The title for Best Electric Luxury SUV was awarded to the new
  BMW iX, which secured fifth place in EcoCar’s Top 50 countdown. The
  BMW iX’s “carbon core chassis, refined ride and spacious lounge-like
  interior deliver comfort and composure in equal measure,” said EcoCar
  Editor, Ian Robertson. “Technology lovers will enjoy the vast curved
  display and sophisticated driver assistance systems, while luxury SUV
  buyers will appreciate its serene character and quality materials
  throughout. It’s like sitting in your lounge on your driveway.”<br />
  <br />The BMW i5 rounded off the awards with a double win, after it
  was named Best Electric Executive Car and Best Electric Estate Car.
  Labelled by EcoCar as a “masterclass in premium motoring,” the BMW i5
  was acknowledged for its compelling technology package, efficiency and
  overall refinement. “Estate buyers will love the new Touring models,
  that are a perfect blend of business sense and driving pleasure,” the
  judging panel added.<br />
  <br />
  <strong>Autotrader celebrate the BMW i4 and BMW iX3 at their Drivers’
    Choice Awards.<br /></strong>Formerly known as the Autotrader New
  Car Awards, the Drivers’ Choice Awards are uniquely positioned as they
  are judged not by the opinions of industry leaders, but by car owners
  themselves. Over 200,000 British car owners completed an online
  survey, determining 20 of this year’s 25 award-winning models and
  sharing exactly what they thought of their car.<br />
  <br />BMW celebrated double success, as the brand received two coveted
  category wins. First to be recognised was the BMW iX3, which continues
  to impress the driving public as it was named the UK’s Best Premium
  Electric Car for 2025. The BMW i4 also triumphed, taking top spot in
  the UK’s Best Car for Families category. <br />
  <br />Commenting on BMW’s success, Erin Baker, Autotrader’s Editorial
  Director, said, “BMW has made huge strides with its electric range,
  and securing two separate trophies is a huge and much deserved achievement.<br />
  <br />“The i4 proves that SUVs aren’t the only choice for families and
  confidently fended off competition from much larger rivals. It scored
  top marks for its ability to carry a family of four in comfort whilst
  having plenty of oomph to put a smile on the driver’s face. And if
  recognition for one brilliant EV wasn’t enough, BMW’s iX3 took the
  trophy for Best Premium Electric Car, receiving high praise from
  owners for its design inside and out, with one telling us that ‘It’s
  extremely well packaged and designed with lots of usable space, has
  excellent range and brilliant performance to boot.’ Great work BMW.”<br />
  <br />
  <br />
  <strong>Ends<br />
    <br /></strong></p>
<p>1) Up to 63 miles of all-electric range achievable for the BMW 330e
  Saloon as part of the WLTP test cycle.<br />

    <strong>Note: This press release is a 1:1 copy of the original
      issued by BMW headquarters in Germany. No adaptions have been made
      to cater to the UK market. <br /></strong></strong></p>
<p>
  <strong>Munich/Miramas. </strong>The development of the first Neue
  Klasse series production model is on the finishing straight:
  prototypes of the next-generation BMW iX3 are currently undergoing
  extensive testing in Miramas, southern France. The Sports Activity
  Vehicle (SAV) will celebrate its world premiere at the IAA Mobility
  2025 in Munich in September and roll off the production line at the
  new BMW Group plant in Debrecen (Hungary) starting at the end of the
  year. “Longer range, faster charging, an all-new display and operating
  concept, and the intelligence of four superbrains are the
  distinguishing features of the Neue Klasse. With the upcoming BMW iX3
  – the first model of the new car generation – we are introducing
  fundamental technology upgrades with the clear aim of raising the
  typical BMW driving pleasure to a whole new level,” says Mike
  Reichelt, Head of Neue Klasse BMW. “With the all-new BMW iX3, we bring
  our revolutionary technologyies into series production for the first
  time, and we can hardly wait to see it in action on the road. All
  future BMW models, regardless of powertrain type, will benefit from
  the innovations and technology clusters of the Neue Klasse."<br />
  <br />The new technologies at a glance:</p>
<ul>
  <li>The revolutionary display and operating concept <strong>BMW
      Panoramic iDrive</strong> provides perfect driver orientation and
    sets yet another new benchmark.</li>
  <li>Charge faster, drive further: the all-electric <strong>6th
      generation powertrain (Gen6)</strong> sets standards in
    performance and efficiency. The new BMW iX3 <a name="_Hlk198895143"></a>50 xDrive has an electric range of up to
      <strong>800km (WLTP)*(CLTC: 900km* / EPA 400 mls*) </strong>and
    can be charged to provide a range of more than <strong>350km maximum
      in just 10 minutes*</strong>.</li>
  <li>The <strong>Heart of Joy</strong> control computer and the
      <strong>BMW Dynamic Performance Control</strong> software stack
    raise the dynamic potential of electric powertrains to a new level.</li></ul>
<p>
  <strong>
    <br />BMW Panoramic iDrive: “Hands on the Wheel, Eyes on the Road”.<br />
    <br /></strong>The BMW Panoramic iDrive shows all relevant driving
  information in the driver’s ideal line of sight and maximizes
  ergonomic efficiency and safety. Four elements come together to make a
  unique user experience:</p>
<ul>
  <li>
    <strong>BMW Panoramic Vision:</strong> information is projected onto
    a black printed surface in the windscreen from A-pillar to A-pillar.</li>
  <li>
    <strong>3D Head-Up Display:</strong> the optional BMW 3D Head-Up
    Display projects information for navigation and automated driving
    into the driver’s direct field of vision above the BMW Panoramic
    Vision Display.</li>
  <li>
    <strong>Central Display with matrix backlight technology:</strong>
    the free-cut-design display is in an ergonomically ideal position
    near the steering wheel.</li>
  <li>
    <strong>Shy-tech multifunction steering wheel: </strong>buttons are
    illuminated when functions are available; relief-like structure and
    active haptic feedback enable intuitive operation without the driver
    having to take his or her eyes off the road.</li></ul>
<p>
  <br />The BMW Panoramic iDrive runs under the <strong>BMW Operating
    System X</strong>, also a new development<strong>.</strong> It
  offers extensive customizability, intelligent support for the driver
  and extensive software updates. BMW’s motto <strong>“Hands on the
    Wheel, Eyes on the Road”</strong> is redefined with a well-balanced
  mix of physical controls and digital functions. BMW Panoramic iDrive
  will ensure user-friendly and intuitive operation in every vehicle
  segment and with every powertrain concept.<br />
  <br />
  <strong>Next generation of electric powertrains. </strong>The
  high-voltage battery concept for the 6th generation of BMW eDrive
  technology (Gen6) is fundamentally new, and together with the revised
  electric drive system portfolio, offers an optimum solution for all
  vehicle segments. The Gen6 system will be making its debut in the BMW
  iX3 and will then be rolled out across all vehicle segments.<br />The
  centerpiece of the high-voltage battery – the BMW cylindrical battery
  cell – has an energy density of 20 per cent greater that the prismatic
  cells previously used. The cells are integrated directly into the
  high-voltage battery, which plays an important role in the body
  structure of Neue Klasse models.<br />
  <br />
  <strong>Charge faster, drive further.<br /></strong>The Gen6
  introduces a major leap forward for our customers and the BMW iX3 is
  the first to benefit. With 400kW maximum charging, our customers can
  add over 350km* maximum (WLTP) to their vehicle’s range in just 10
  minutes. Gen6 technology allows users to monitor the charging
  performance and curve live via the My BMW App. 800V technology is
  paving the way for rapid charging. Charging at 400V DC charging
  stations will, of course, still be possible.<br />The high energy
  content of the high-voltage battery, together with the efficient
  design of the powertrain and the overall vehicle, enables a range of
  up to 800km (WLTP). <em>
    <br />
    <br /></em>
  <strong>Further charging-related innovations.<br /></strong>Making the
  charging process even more user friendly is the intelligent charging
  flap, which detects when the driver is intending to stop to charge the
  car and opens (and then closes) automatically. One of the triggers for
  opening the flap is AI-assisted: if the customer approaches a familiar
  or learned charging point, the progress towards it reveals an
  intention to charge and the flap opens.<br />
  <br />The SoP of the new BMW iX3 will also introduce extensive
  bidirectional charging functions – to-Load, to-Home and
  to-Grid:<br />Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) turns the vehicle into a powerful
  mobile powerbank (up to 3.7kW in Europe) and supplies energy for one
  or several consumers, wherever customers need it. Bidirectional
  charging capability turns the BMW iX3 into an at-home energy storage
  unit. Vehicle-to-Home (V2H) helps customers to reduce costs.
  Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) sets new standards for the integration of the
  vehicle into the energy market. Both functions contribute to lowering
  emissions and increasing the use of regenerative energy sources. In
  this way, the BMW Group demonstrates that it is part of the solution
  as we work towards energy transformation.<br />
  <br />Providing the key to bidirectional charging alongside the
  technology involved, the new BMW Wallbox (DC) offers 19.2kW charging
  and discharging depending on the market. The BMW charging equipment
  has been redesigned and is now easier to use, and now also includes
  selected adapters e.g. for vehicle-to-load (V2L) use cases.<br />
  <br />
  <strong>The BMW driving experience with the Heart of Joy. The level in
    sheer driving pleasure. <br /></strong>The "superbrain"
    <strong>Heart of Joy</strong> in the Neue Klasse raises driving
  dynamics to a new level. Together with the <strong>BMW Dynamic
    Performance Control</strong> software stack, the Heart of Joy is
  pivotal to powertrain, brakes, recuperation and sub-functions of the
  steering system. It processes information ten times faster* than
  previous systems and therefore responds more directly than ever to the
  driver’s command.<br />
  <br />Fewer control inputs are required, directional stability is more
  precise and stable. As a result, the vehicle develops consistent and
  reproducible cornering characteristics and can be steered intuitively.<br />
  <br />Powertrain and braking functions also work together harmoniously
  to decelerate the vehicle. Recuperation can be used across the whole
  speed range down to a standstill. Indeed, in 98 percent of cases, the
  vehicle can be brought to a standstill without applying the friction
  brakes – without noise or jolts.<br />
  <br />The Heart of Joy and BMW Dynamic Performance Control raise the
  BMW driving experience to a new level – from standstill to dynamic limits.<br />
  <strong>
    <br />Further development of driver assistance systems using the
    intelligent high-performance computer “Superbrain of Automated
    Driving” <br /></strong>BMW Group’s latest driver assistance systems
  are among the world’s best. The new BMW iX3 ushers in the rollout of
  the next technology generation. This is in keeping with BMW’s ADAS
  (Advanced Driver Assistance System) philosophy: “Always smart,
  symbiotic, and safe”.<br />
  <br />The BMW Group merges the proven, rule-based assistance system
  with a new system based on AI. In an optimum symbiosis, this
  combination supports the driver even more precisely and reliably in
  challenging situations on the road. The Superbrain of Automated
  Driving pools all customer functions for automated driving and has a
  20 times faster processing speed than the previous system. The new
  automated driving and parking functions are based on cutting-edge
  sensor, software, processor, and mobile communications technology.<br />
  <br />The basic model of the BMW iX3 offers functions like lane change
  warning, road priority warning, safe exit, and assisted view. Safe
  exit uses side-mounted radars to monitor traffic next to the car while
  stopping and warns the driver of approaching objects. The new Assisted
  View shows the latest driving situation precisely and in detail
  alternatively in the Central Display, the Panoramic Vision, or 3D
  Head-Up Display. The motorway assistant with automatic lane change
  will be available with extended features in the BMW iX3. Upon request,
  it can assist drivers from when they join a motorway to when they
  leave it and allow drivers to take their hands off the steering wheel
  for long periods. This assistant remains active even during automated
  motorway changes along an active navigation route. The new Motorway
  & City Assistant helps the driver in complex driving situations in
  urban areas, e.g. through tight corners or roundabouts. It brakes
  automatically at red traffic lights and moves off again or sounds an
  audible signal when lights turn green.<br />
  <br />Symbiotic driver assistance, as it is known, enables perfect
  interaction between tech and driver regarding both comfort and safety
  functions, and creates a seamless transition between cooperative
  steering and – a world first – cooperative braking.<br />
  <br />When the function is active, the driver can influence the system
  at any time without causing the assistant to be switched off by
  turning the steering wheel or applying brakes just a little in order
  to adjust the responses of the system.<br />
  <br />The parking functions can be activated intuitively and offer an
  AI-based selection of parking assistance services, parking space
  recognition, maneuver planning, and an improved parking experience.
  Extended monitoring functions help the driver to avoid damage to the
  vehicle while parking the car.<br />
  <br />
  <strong>Neue Klasse innovations are AI-based, smart and
    update-compatible. </strong>Thanks to the all-new electronics and
  software architecture with four superbrains (high-performance
  computers), the new BMW iX3 is now noticeably more intelligent in
  everyday situations – e.g. with the advanced driver assistance systems
  and improved voice assistant BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant. Due
  to the powerful BMW Cloud, the new electronics and software
  architecture of the new vehicle generation is ready for numerous smart
  features, which customers can benefit from via over-the-air updates
  after the market launch.<br />
  <em>
    <br /></em>A large number of the patent applications filed by BMW in
  recent years have come about as part of the development of
  technologies for the Neue Klasse – e.g. in the projection technology
  for the BMW Panoramic Vision, in the innovative control functions of
  the Heart of Joy, in the battery management and cell contacting system
  of the high-voltage battery, in the new electric motor, and in the
  new, zonal vehicle electrical system. <em>
    <br /></em>
