<strong>Note: This press release is a 1:1 copy of the original issued
by BMW Group headquarters in Germany. No adaptions have been made to
cater to the UK market.<br />
<br />Munich/Graz.</strong> MINI and Austrian design studio Vagabund
present a new creative collaboration: two unique one-off vehicles
based on the MINI Countryman, both of which set a powerful statement
for adventure spirit, community culture and festival lifestyle.<br />
<br />“A long-standing tradition and core value of the MINI brand is
individual vehicle customization. Together with Vagabund, MINI
continues this approach and demonstrates how a creative
reinterpretation of the MINI Countryman – inspired by festival culture
and music – can be brought to life through an engaged community,” says
  Jean‑Philippe Parain, Head of MINI.<br />
  <br />
  <strong>MINI x Vagabund: The Duo<br /></strong>Vagabund successfully
adds a distinctive design layer to the MINI Countryman that
authentically expresses individuality, design philosophy and community
spirit. MINI deliberately provides the platform – Vagabund contributes
their creative signature. The result: two charismatic vehicles that
reinterpret the versatility and openness of the MINI Countryman in an
  entirely new way.<br />
<br />“For us, design does not begin with the object, but with the
idea behind it – and it only ends when that idea becomes tangible. The
MINI x Vagabund one-offs translate a clear concept into an
experiential statement. Two distinctive characters, united by MINI
Countryman DNA, create a composition full of tension – making design
visible as an emotional experience,” explains Paul Brauchart,
  Co-Founder and Head of Creative Vagabund.<br />
<br />Holger Hampf, Head of MINI Design: “MINI Design stands for
vehicles with strong character that people enjoy driving and living
with—true to the motto: lifestyle meets function and fun. Through our
collaboration with Vagabund on these two vehicles, we were able to
once again showcase our attention to detail and technical
  craftsmanship in a striking way.”<br />
<br />With a sophisticated sound system, graphic accents and a bold
colour concept, the two vehicles themselves become moving sound
stages. The vehicle finished in Melting Silver features sand-coloured
& white body exterior details: playful, graphic and light. The
Midnight Black example stands in deliberate contrast – monochrome
black, precise and technical. It is this contrast that enhances their
perception and creates an overall impression that only becomes fully
apparent when both vehicles are experienced together.<br />
  <br />
  <strong>Bodywork & proportions<br /></strong>Distinctively
reworked wheel arches create a visually wider stance and give the
vehicles a further striking appearance. A front bumper attachment
ensures a harmonious connection between the wings and the original
front apron. Front and rear bumpers are colour-coordinated with the
additional body modifications, with the radiator grille being revised
accordingly. Along the side sills, sits prominently integrated
  VAGABUND lettering as a three-dimensional element.<strong>
<br /></strong>The raised ride height further emphasizes the
off-road character of the two MINI Countryman S ALL4 models. In
addition, 20‑inch wheels are fitted, showcasing intentionally
closed-off 3D‑printed wheel cover designs, which gives the wheels a
muscular appearance and creates a clear visual association with loudspeakers.<br />
<br />The roof rack consists of three laser-cut and folded aluminium
plates, complemented by an integrated stainless-steel mesh as an open
surface. This construction visually references the design language of
speaker covers, creating a connection between roof, side profile and
overall vehicle design – turning the roof rack into an integral design element.<br />
  <br />
  <strong>The vehicle as a sound system<br /></strong>The rear side
windows have been removed and replaced by a specially-developed sound
system designed specifically for outdoor sound projection, with
community events in mind. At its heart is a newly developed
loudspeaker housing made from cast polymer granite – a material that
offers ideal conditions for precise and unadulterated sound reproduction.<br />
<br />Tweeters and mid-range speakers are integrated directly into the
bodywork, while additional subwoofers in the rear deliver a powerful
punch when the tailgate is opened. Each vehicle functions as an
independent sound system – however together, both MINI Countryman show
cars form a mobile stage, creating an immersive audio experience.<br />
<br />On the opposite side of the vehicle, a special detail can be
found: an iconic Walkman integrated into a 3D‑printed housing. With a
characteristic MINI sense of humour; this creates a deliberate
counterpoint to the open external sound system – a personal,
decelerated feeling. The combination of analogue nostalgia and
contemporary construction underlines the experimental character of the
  entire concept.<br />
  <br />
  <strong>MINI Individualization by Vagabund<br /></strong>Through
Vagabund, the MINI Countryman becomes a moving platform for encounters
and cultural exchange. The vehicles create community moments where
people come together and enable experiences that go beyond the thrill
  of driving.<br />
<br />Vagabund is renowned for its expertise in rethinking existing
products via visual transformations. The two one-off vehicles
demonstrate how creative power lies in form, function and attention to
detail. MINI and Vagabund share this approach: individuality instead
of convention, craftsmanship instead of overbearing aesthetics,
  community instead of distance.<br />
<br />The MINI x Vagabund collaboration shows how MINI carries its
historic commitment to individualization into the future: bold design
interpretations, culture-driven themes (such as music), cultural
leaders and community, combined with a high level of craftsmanship.
The result is inspiring one-off examples that showcase the MINI
Countryman in new and elevated ways. MINI will present one of the two
one-off vehicles to the public for the first time at Auto China 2026
in Beijing. Following its premiere at the motor show, the models will
be brought closer to people live and in action across a wide range of
  platforms – staying true to the community-driven approach.<br />

all-electric powertrain, the third-generation MINI Countryman receives
a range of technological refinements to enable a single-charge range
  of over 300 miles.<br />
<br />The improved MINI Countryman E now boasts a range of up to 307
miles (WLTP*), offering customers more versatility than ever before,
while the MINI Countryman SE ALL4 is capable of up to 287 miles
(WLTP*). These improved figures are thanks to a number of innovative
technical updates. Most importantly is a new silicon carbide (SiC)
inverter, which guarantees highly efficient energy conversion while
minimising power loss. This is complemented by an increased net
high-voltage battery capacity of 65.2 kWh, providing more usable
energy. Meanwhile the addition of friction-reduced wheel bearings on
the front axle helps to reduce rolling resistance – each playing a
  part to optimise range.<br />
  <br />
  <strong>Maximum Electric Car Grant Contribution.<br /></strong>The
MINI Countryman Electric customers can now take advantage of the full
£3,750 discount as part of the government’s ECG scheme. This discount,
alongside the model’s range enhancements, result in an even more
  attractive MINI Countryman offering.<br />
  <br />
  <strong>An already-compelling product offering.<br /></strong>The
all-electric MINI Countryman blends the versatility of a compact
crossover with MINI’s unmistakeable driving experience and iconic
proportions: short overhangs, a short bonnet and a contrasting long
wheelbase. Thanks to generous interior dimensions and a boot space of
up to 1,450 litres, the MINI Countryman offers enough space for the
entire family. Meanwhile, larger wheels, wider wheel arches and the
removal of chrome details add to the vehicle’s road presence.
Available in nine exterior paint colours and with nine alloy designs
to choose from, there is endless possibility for customisation.<br />
<br />Moving inside, the interior of the vehicle echoes the minimalist
design of the classic Mini, using just the round instrument cluster in
the centre and the infamous toggle bar below. In the new MINI
Countryman, it is precisely these two elements, in combination with
the steering wheel, that are the focus of the interior cabin.<br />
<br />At the heart of the interior design is a central 24 cm circular
OLED display, which enables intuitive operation the entire
infotainment system. Advanced driver assistance systems enable up to
Level 2 autonomous driving capabilities while ensuring comprehensive
  safety and maximum comfort.<br />
<br />The increased-range MINI Countryman Electric will be available
  from March 2026.<br />

variety of industry accolades at recent awards. Four of which were
collected at the What Car? Electric Car Awards 2025, where the BMW i7
retained its Best Electric Luxury Car title for the third consecutive
year. Similar success followed at the annual Towcar of the Year Awards
with three category wins, including a double for the recently updated
BMW iX. Meanwhile, MINI further strengthens its model lineup with the
introduction of the new MINI Countryman E Monochrome, offering a sleek
design and an enhanced standard specification.<br />
  <br />
<strong>BMW Group collects four awards at the What Car? Electric Car
Awards 2025.<br /></strong>BMW Group recently secured four category
wins at the What Car? Electric Awards, which each year celebrate the
best electric vehicles (EVs) currently available for the UK market.
Considering innovation, performance and sustainability, the awards
help consumers identify the best EVs across a range of categories.<br />
<br />The BMW i7 was named Best Electric Luxury Car for the third
consecutive year, as BMW continues to “set the standard” for electric
luxury cars, said What Car? Editor, Steve Huntingford. “The i7 and iX
are both so good that they’ve earned our maximum five-star rating.”
Continuing its status as class-leader, the flagship saloon was praised
by judges for its “incredible comfort”, “beautiful” finish, unique
technology – such as the “fabulous 8K cinema screen” – and its
“uncanny ability to shut out unwanted noise.”<br />
<br />Also celebrated by the publication was the BMW 330e, which
claimed the title for Best Used Hybrid Executive Car. Commenting on
the win, Huntingford praised its “low running costs”, “driver appeal”,
and “plush interior”. Meanwhile, the BMW 530e secured the Best Used
Hybrid Estate award, offering “space, quality and efficiency that’s
unmatched”. The final trophy of the night was presented to the MINI
Cooper SE Countryman ALL4, which topped the Best Used Hybrid Small SUV
category, thanks to its impressive reliability – scoring 99.7 per cent
in the recent What Car? Reliability Survey – and class-leading refinement.<br />
  <br />
<strong>BMW iX and BMW X3 commended at the annual Towcar of the Year
Awards.<br /></strong>Continuing its winning streak, BMW celebrated
success at the Caravan and Motorhome Club Towcar of the Year Awards –
an annual celebration of the best cars currently available for
consumers with towing needs. To qualify, all manufacturers must take
part in a rigorous testing process across four days at Millbrook
Proving Ground. Participating models are scored on practicality,
innovation and overall driving experience, in addition to their
  all-important towing capacity.<br />
<br />The recently revised BMW iX secured two awards, leading both the
Caravan Weight over 2,000kg and Electric Towcar categories. On
presenting the accolades, judges named the iX “one of its star
performers”, and paid tribute to the adaptive air suspension’s ability
to “keep everything stable, composed and level when hitched, while
regenerative braking helped control descents.”<br />
<br />An additional title was presented to the BMW X3 M50 xDrive,
after topping the Caravan Weight 1700-1800kg category. Judges
commended the M Performance model’s towing capabilities, stating, “The
[BMW] X3 undeniably has a quality feel, especially when towing: it’s
stable, secure and delivers immense confidence when braking.” The
panel were equally impressed by its driving dynamics; “it’s a really
fun car to drive that offers class-leading acceleration performance,”
  they continued.<strong>
    <br />
    <br />Introducing the new MINI Countryman E
Monochrome.<br /></strong>MINI is pleased to introduce the new MINI
Countryman E Monochrome. The largest member of the MINI family is the

<strong>Note: This press release is a 1:1 copy of the original issued
by BMW headquarters in Germany. No adaptions have been made to cater
    to the UK market.<br />
<br />Munich.</strong> At the IAA Mobility in Munich from 9 to 14
September, MINI will transform the city into its own stage at two
well-known locations: an impressive Open Space at Max-Joseph-Platz,
and a central brand appearance in the MINI Pavillion at Lenbachplatz,
presenting MINI’s brand DNA at the world's largest mobility event. The
highlight is the world premiere of two exclusive JCW showcars, created
as part of an exciting collaboration.<br />
  <br />
<strong>MINI Pavillion: MINI unveils exclusive JCW
showcars.<br /></strong>MINI's racing background is not only evident
from its recent success at the 24-hour race at the Nürburgring:
motorsport has been part of the brand's essence from the very
beginning. As part of the IAA, two unique MINI John Cooper Works
showcars are celebrating their world premiere, the result of an
  inspiring collaboration.<br />
<br />For the duration of the IAA, the MINI Pavillion puts the models
centre stage in a spectacular display. The showcars, which combine the
brand's unmistakable racing enthusiasm with the spirit of a
world-famous lifestyle brand, can be admired at Lenbachplatz. For
this, the MINI Pavillion will be extensively remodeled, and dedicated
entirely to the John Cooper Works brand.</p>

<p>
  <strong>
<br />MINI at Open Space: Heritage and humour at
  Max-Joseph-Platz.<br /></strong>A metropolis within a metropolis: With
its appearance at the Open Space, MINI brings the vibrant city centre
of London to the noble Max-Joseph-Platz in Munich's old town. An
elaborately staged backdrop recreates the heart of the city and
presents the brand’s British identity, including its humour in many details.<br />
<br />With the Bayerische Staatsoper and the Residenztheater in the
background, the focus of Open Space is the all-electric models of the
new MINI family, the high-performance MINI John Cooper Works Electric,
MINI Service and MINI Experience Modes. <br />
<br />With the MINI John Cooper Works Electric, MINI Aceman SE and
MINI Countryman SE ALL 4, visitors will be able to experience three
all-electric MINI models up close. Max-Joseph-Platz is also the
starting point for test drives in cooperation with SIXT: true to the
motto "Only MINI Can Do", visitors can take all-electric
MINIs from the new MINI family out onto the city's streets from here.</p>

  <strong>
<br />MINI at the IAA: Community Day unites fans of the
brand.<br /></strong>Fans of MINI can also become part of the IAA
Mobility this year: at the "Community Day" on 13 September,
MINI clubs will come together for a drive with their personal MINIs.
Starting at Gut Kaltenbrunn on Lake Tegernsee, the route leads through
Munich and ends with an inspiring get-together with music, BBQ and
dialogue with the community in the MINI Pavillion.<br />
  <br />
<strong>The IAA: a platform for experts and enthusiasts.</strong>
<br />As one of the largest and most important international
automotive trade fairs, the International Motor Show (IAA) offers
manufacturers, journalists and other enthusiasts a platform for
dialogue on the topics of mobility, innovation and technology every
two years. The IAA Mobility 2025 is organised under the slogan
"It's All About Mobility". As part of the event, innovations
and concepts will be presented in four formats - at the IAA Summit,
the IAA Conference, the IAA Open Space and the IAA Experience - as
well as at MINI in the MINI Pavillion at Lenbachplatz. Over half a
million visitors were counted at the last IAA 2023 in Munich.<br />

offer increased practicality for those who wish to extend their
vehicles storage through a roof box, with the addition of roof rails
  as an optional extra.<br />
<br />For those who want a breath of fresh air, MINI Cooper
Convertible customers can now optionally choose a soft-top roof with
our iconic Union Jack design, adding flair to the vehicle when the
  roof is closed.<br />
  <br />
<strong>Increased practicality for the MINI Countryman</strong>
<br />Previously offered on the MINI Countryman S only, a towbar is
now offered optionally across all MINI Countryman derivatives,
including the MINI Countryman E and SE. Activated using a button
within the boot, a towbar further enhances the usability of the
vehicle which can tow the following weights:</p>

lock and start your MINI when a vehicle key isn’t present. <br />
<br />Further improvements have also been made to the in-vehicle
Intelligent Personal Assistant (IPA), offering more accurate

new BMW iX1 and BMW iX2 Shadow Edition alongside an expanded range of
exterior paint colours for the BMW X3 M50 xDrive and BMW Z4 M40i with
Handschalter Pack. Meanwhile, BMW Group UK continues its winning
streak, with both BMW and MINI receiving multiple accolades from T3,
Professional Driver and Company Car & Van.</p>
<p>
<strong>New Shadow Edition available for BMW iX1 and BMW
iX2.<br /></strong>The most compact models within the all-electric BMW
SAV lineup can now be further personalised with the introduction of
the BMW iX1 and BMW iX2 Shadow Edition. This new trim option packages
an expanded list of standard equipment and sporty styling features at
a compelling price. Over and above the M Sport trim, customers opting
for the Shadow Edition receive 19-inch alloy wheels (for BMW
iX1/already standard for BMW iX2), red M Sport brake callipers, Shadow
Line Adaptive LED headlights and M Sport Pro Package styling features.</p>
<p>
<strong>Increased personalisation for the BMW X3 M50 xDrive and BMW Z4
    M40i with Handschalter Pack.<br /></strong>First introduced last
summer, the BMW X3 M50 xDrive is equipped with the most powerful
six-cylinder in-line petrol engine ever fitted in an M Performance
model, delivering dynamic performance capabilities which set a new
benchmark for driving pleasure in its class. From launch, customers
opting for the range topper could choose from eight exterior paint
finishes, however from April production, the colour palette will be
expanded with the addition of 490 BMW Individual paint colours,
including Sao Paulo Yellow, Daytona Violet and Frozen Black.</p>
<p>Also benefiting from an expanded range of exterior paints is BMW Z4
M40i with Handschalter Pack. Previously finished exclusively in Frozen
Deep Green with Cognac upholstery, the six-speed manual roadster can
now be specified in seven exterior paint options including Skycraper
Grey, Thundernight Purple and San Francisco Red. Increased
personalisation continues inside the cockpit with a choice of four new
  interior upholsteries. </p>
<p>
<strong>T3 presents the Best Car Tech award to the BMW Panoramic
  Vision.<br /></strong>Following the 2025 Consumer Electronics Show
(CES), T3 has compiled its list of standout technologies from the Las
Vegas event, with BMW’s revolutionary Panoramic Vision emerging as the
  title’s top pick for in-car innovation.</p>
<p>The BMW Panoramic Vision is the focal point of the next-generation
BMW iDrive system, which will include the latest BMW Operating System
  X. Rolling out on all-new BMW models launched from the end of 2025,
this industry-leading head-up display concept projects content across
the entire lower portion of the windscreen, with the most important
driving information available directly in the driver’s line of sight.</p>
<p>On presenting the award T3’s Editor-in-Chief Mat Gallagher said,
“In-car tech is one of the most forward-thinking platforms right now
and none more so than the new BMW iDrive system. Ready to feature in
the next generation of electric vehicles – known as the Neue Klasse –
the iDrive OSX system combines four elements to deliver optimum driver communication.</p>
<p>“The highlight is the Panoramic Vision, a thin projected screen that
sits under the windscreen, providing a wealth of information. The
contents are customisable, allowing you to drag and drop different
widgets from the specially angled centre screen. It's super futuristic
and really useful for keeping all those features in your eyeline. We
can't wait to see it in the upcoming iX3 later this year.”</p>
<p>
<strong>Double success for BMW at the 2025 Professional Driver Car of
    the Year awards.<br /></strong>Two of BMW’s flagship all-electric
models collected category awards at the 2025 Professional Driver Car
of the Year awards. With six categories in total, the annual awards
are judged by Professional Driver readers, who evaluate more than 60
cars as part of the selection process.</p>
<p>The BMW i5 Touring was named Estate Car of the Year with Editor Mark
Bursa commenting, “The estate Car category was test, with several
strong contenders for the prize. But our judges went with an electric
car – and one of the newest on the market. The BMW i5 Touring is not
  just a refined car that’s ideal for executive chauffeuring – it’s a
  joy to drive too.”</p>
<p>Following the success of the BMW M760e xDrive at last year’s awards,
the BMW 7 Series continues to lead Professional Driver’s Chauffeur Car
category, with the all-electric BMW i7 taking the 2025 top spot. “The
new 7-series has become a game-changer in the chauffeur market, giving
drivers and operators a practical and supremely luxurious electric
  limousine,” said Bursa.</p>
<p>
<strong>BMW Group triumphs at the 2025 Company Car & Van
  Awards.<br /></strong>Company Car & Van (CC&V) offers expert
advice to individuals who directly influence the make-up of their
company’s fleet. Each year at the CC&V Awards, the title
shortlists the best vehicles for the fleet market and crowns their
overall Fleet Manufacturer of the Year. For 2025, this headline award
was presented to the BMW Group.</p>
<p>CC&V Editor Andrew Walker praised BMW Group’s comprehensive
product portfolio: “With a vast choice of electric & plug-in
hybrid's BMW & MINI really came of age in 2024, cementing their
position as the most forward thinking premium brand across all car
sizes. From the new electric Mini Cooper, Countryman & Aceman to
  the BMW iX2, i5, i7 updated i4, iX3 & plug-in 330e, every company
car sector was covered leaving the competition trailing behind.”</p>
<p>Two further wins were garnered across both brands, with the BMW 5
Series and MINI Countryman each topping their respective category.</p>
<p>Named a “worthy” winner of the Executive Car of the Year 2025 award,
the BMW 5 Series was commended for its “brilliant” drive and intuitive
on-board technology. “The interior has the wow factor & in
electric form, the i5 is probably the best all around electric saloon
out there. If we had to choose one executive car, then the 5 Series
  would be it”, Walker added.</p>
<p>Meanwhile, the all-new MINI Countryman claimed the award for Medium
Car of the Year, with judges applauding its nostalgia-infused yet
technologically-advanced cabin. “It's the largest MINI yet, but don't
let that worry you because both petrol & electric versions are
best in class to drive, whilst offering decent interior space & a
  useful boot… A car we’d happily drive every day.”</p>

in November, including new BMW 1 Series variants, additional
powertrains for the 5 Series Touring, and faster AC charging for
select plug-in hybrid models. Meanwhile, MINI will expand
personalisation options across its portfolio. Alongside these model
enhancements, BMW Group UK has recently received prestigious awards
from Carbuyer, Marie Claire, Parkers, The Caravan and Motorhome Club,
and What Car? recognising the company and its products across a range
  of categories.<br />
  <br />
<strong>Introducing a range of BMW model updates from November 2024.</strong>
<br />Closely following the launch of the fourth-generation BMW 1
Series, an additional model variant, the 123 xDrive, will join the
line-up to bridge the gap between the 120 and range-topping M135
xDrive. This additional all-wheel-drive option is powered by an
electrified four-cylinder drive unit featuring 48V mild hybrid
technology, resulting in a combined system output of 218 hp. In
addition, the BMW M135 xDrive receives an exclusive new M Dynamic
Package, bringing additional bracing elements and lightweight
construction measures, plus specific chassis components to give the
  range-topper bespoke performance characteristics.<br />
<br />The line-up of drive systems for the new BMW 5 Series Touring
will also be expanded from November, with the introduction of new 520i
and 550e xDrive model variants. The introductory BMW 520i Touring
mates the latest four-cylinder petrol engine with 48V mild hybrid
technology to generate a maximum output of 190 hp and peak torque of
310 Nm. These figures can be raised up to 208 hp and 330 Nm courtesy
  of the mild hybrid system’s crankshaft-driven starter-generator.<br />
  <br />Meanwhile the BMW 550e xDrive, a six-cylinder in-line petrol
engine with BMW TwinPower Turbo technology, joins forces with the
latest version of BMW eDrive technology for plug-in-hybrid systems.
The 3.0-litre engine produces a nominal output of 313 hp at 5,000 –
6,500 rpm and a nominal torque of 450 Nm at 1,750 – 4,700 rpm. The
electric motor developed for the hybrid drive system is integrated –
together with its power electronics – directly into the eight-speed
Steptronic Sport transmission and contributes up to 197 hp to the peak
system output of 489 hp. The electric motor’s nominal torque of up to
280 Nm is boosted to as much as 450 Nm at the transmission input for
the motor with the help of a pregearing stage patented by BMW. With
assistance from the BMW xDrive intelligent all-wheel-drive system, the
new BMW 550e xDrive Touring completes the 0-62 mph sprint in just 4.4 seconds.<br />
<br />Finally, all plug-in hybrid versions of the BMW 5 Series, BMW X5
xDrive50e and the new BMW M5 Saloon will benefit from increased AC
charging rates. The increase from 7.4 kW to 11 kW enables users to
replenish the high-voltage battery of their vehicle in a significantly
shorter time. It will now be possible to charge the battery in the BMW
X5 xDrive50e from 0 to 100 per cent within three hours, while the 0 to
100 per cent charging times for the BMW M5 and plug-in-hybrid variants
of the BMW 5 Series will be reduced by an hour to just 2 hours 15 minutes.<br />
  <br />
<strong>MINI model updates from the tail end of
2024.<br /></strong>From November 2024, MINI will be expanding
personalisation options within the Classic, Sport and Exclusive trim
structures across the new MINI family. British Racing Green exterior
body colour is now available for all vehicles within the MINI family,
while Sunnyside Yellow is now additionally offered across all MINI
  Cooper models.<br />
<br />For customers choosing Sport trim, Blazing Blue exterior body
colour is now available on the MINI Countryman, Icy Sunshine Blue on
MINI Cooper models, and brand new 17” Sprint Spoke Alloy wheels become
standard on all Sport trim, petrol MINI Cooper models.<br />
<br />Classic and Exclusive trims have also been bolstered with
additional wheel options. The 17” U-Spoke Dark Grey wheel is now
available optionally on all Exclusive trim MINI Cooper vehicles, while
the 19” Runway Spoke Black Alloy wheel currently offered on Sport trim
for the MINI Countryman is now available in Classic and Exclusive trim also.<br />
  <br />
<strong>BMW 2 Series Coupe crowned ‘Best Sports Car’ at the Carbuyer
New Car Awards. <br /></strong>Remaining undefeated for a third
consecutive year, the BMW 2 Series Coupe was crowned ‘Best Sports Car’
at the 2025 Carbuyer New Car Awards. “The BMW 2 Series Coupe is a
sleek two-door that serves up BMW’s legendary driving precision in a
relatively affordable package. Just as rewarding in entry-level 220i
guise as it is in the hot M240i xDrive configuration, which brings
searing acceleration and thrilling grip levels," said Carbuyer
Editor, Paul Barker. "The 2 Series Coupe is also compact, making
it easy to live with, while it boasts an upmarket interior.”<br />
  <br />
<strong>What Car? names the BMW 330e ‘Used Hybrid Car of the
Year’.<br /></strong>The What Car? Used Car of the Year awards
highlight the best buys on the used car market today, and this year
the BMW 330e took the top spot as ‘Used Hybrid Car of the Year’.
Commenting on the win, What Car? judges said, “The 330e is great to
drive, has a plush interior, a smooth hybrid set-up, an intuitive
infotainment system, a good reliability record and it's great value
for money when bought at a few years old.”<br />
  <br />
<strong>Triple win at the Parkers New Car Awards. <br /></strong>BMW
celebrates success at the recent Parkers New Car Awards, with the BMW
i7/7 Series, BMW i4 and BMW 3 Series each topping their respective class.<br />
<br />Praised for its pricing, range and performance, the BMW i7/7
Series was named ‘Best Luxury Car’ for the second consecutive year. On
presenting the award, Parkers Editor, Keith Adams said, “If you’re in
the market for a luxury car, the all-electric BMW i7 and hybrid 7
Series have all your needs covered beautifully. As you’d expect, both
are great to drive, but for those riding in the rear, nothing can
touch them at this price point. The i7, in particular, is silently
restful, offers a brilliant driving range, quick charging and
effortless performance. No wonder it’s two years in a row for this
  flagship motor.”<br />
<br />Continuing the awards, the BMW i4 reprised its position as ‘Best
Company Car’. “The BMW i4 set a new benchmark in the premium car
segment when it launched in 2021 and it remains unsurpassed today,”
said Adams. Parkers also paid tribute to the model’s desirability,
well-equipped specification and noted its “competitive leasing rates,
making it an affordable company car choice.”<br />
<br />The third and final BMW to take home a gong was the previous
generation BMW 3 Series, celebrated by Parkers as ‘Best Used Car’.
After praising its “sharp-suited looks”, driving dynamics and “broad
selection of powertrains”, Adams summarised, “Other compact executives
are more luxurious, while others are even faster, but none of them is
as special as a BMW 3 Series - reason enough to make this a used car
  we can wholeheartedly recommend.”<br />
  <br />
<strong>Marie Claire honours BMW Group at annual Sustainability
Awards.<br /></strong>The Marie Claire Sustainability Awards reward
those who demonstrate a commitment to maximum sustainability across a
diverse range of industries. At this year’s ceremony, the BMW Group
prevailed, securing two awards in the Motors category, which
acknowledges companies who are leading the charge in eco-friendly driving.<br />
<br />The first win came from the MINI Countryman, as it was named in
the ‘Electric Cars’ sub-class. The model’s sustainable interior
materials contributed to the win, with Marie Claire highlighting its
dashboard and door panels made from 90 per cent recycled polyester.
The vehicle’s manufacturing process played an equal part in this win,
with BMW Group Plant Leipzig featuring four on-site wind turbines for
energy production and a battery storage farm to ensure surplus energy
can be stored and used at a later stage.<br />
<br />BMW Group “is to be commended for adding so much detail to the
scrutiny of its various sustainability claims, rather than just adding
links to websites, particularly the level of detail around its water
management at its global plants – I was taken by the monsoon water
being collected in India to provide 100% of plant water requirements,”
notes Marie Claire judge, Erin Baker. “I like the fact it is sourcing
its critical minerals directly, and that it tracks and traces Scope 3 emissions.”<br />
<br />BMW Group’s second Marie Claire award win was attributed to the
introduction of the BMW iX5 Hydrogen pilot fleet – which visited the
UK last year.  While a production vehicle won’t be available until
2028, this pilot is an important first step on the road to creating a
sustainable alternative to not only traditional fossil fuels, but to
battery electric cars too. Marie Claire was particularly impressed by
the BMW Group’s “forward-thinking” research into hydrogen fuel cell
technology, as well as the iX5 Hydrogen’s zero-local-emissions drive
  and 313-mile range.<br />
  <br />
<strong>BMW Group UK secures three wins at the What Car? Electric Car
Awards.<br /></strong>The What Car? Electric Car Awards pay tribute to
the best electrified vehicles currently on sale. At this year’s
awards, BMW Group UK triumphed, securing three coveted category wins
across its electrified model portfolio.<br />
<br />Combining excellent driving dynamics, sporty elegance and modern
functionality, the BMW i5 Touring clinched the award for ‘Best
Electric Estate Car’. What Car? judges endorsed the Touring as a “well
rounded” estate, while commending the model’s impressive 570-litre
boot capacity, “intuitive controls”, “rich mixture of high-quality
  materials” and the “healthy 335bhp” of the entry-level eDrive40 model variant.<br />
<br />Also praised at the awards was the BMW i7, which secured the
accolade for ‘Best Luxury Car’ for the second year running. Commenting
on the win, judges said, “As if the petrol-powered BMW 7 Series wasn’t
already luxurious enough, the i7 adds the extra quietness that comes
only with electric power, taking the sense of tranquillity and
  relaxation to a whole new level.”<br />
<br />MINI also received recognition from What Car?, with the MINI
Cooper SE receiving the award for ‘Best Electric Small Car’. “The new
electric Mini Cooper could convince you that the legendary (extremely)
small car should have been electric from the beginning,” said What
Car?. Judges continued by paying tribute to the hot hatch’s “precise,
confidence-inspiring steering”, commendable 0-62mph sprint time (just
6.7 seconds) and its “huge leap” in single-charge range compared to
  its predecessor. <br />
  <br />
<strong>BMW i5 Touring triumphs at Towcar of the Year
2025.<br /></strong>The annual Caravan and Motorhome Club Towcar of
the Year awards are the leisure vehicle industry’s original and
longest-standing towcar testing awards and exist to help caravan
owners select the car best suited to their individual towing needs.<br />
  <br />At the 2025 awards, the BMW i5 eDrive40 M Sport Pro Touring
conquered, taking home three awards: first winning the ‘1500kg–1600kg’
caravan weight class, before being named ‘Best Luxury Towcar’ and
overall ‘Best Electric Towcar’. Commenting on the win, judges said,
“The 5 Series Touring has traditionally been a great towcar and the
brand-new electric version (the first-ever electric 5 Series) keeps up
the tradition. It’s a luxurious estate car with a wonderful blend of
desirable features that bowled over the judges. BMW’s latest interiors
offer outstanding tech and fantastic build quality, while there’s
loads of space in the back seats and boot. Engaging handling just
sealed the deal. It also took the Electric Towcar and Luxury Towcar
category wins for its fantastic drive, a claimed solo 324-mile range
from its 81.2kWh battery, and plush feel.”<br />
  <br />
  <strong>Ends<br />

<strong>Note: This press release is a 1:1 copy of the original issued
by BMW headquarters in Germany. No adaptations have been made to
cater for the UK market.   </strong></p>
<p>
<strong>Munich/Beijing.</strong> MINI fans can look forward to the
18th Beijing International Automotive Exhibition 2024. From April 25
to May 4, MINI will be presenting the new generation of the new MINI
Family at the China International Exhibition Center in Beijing. As
part of the Chinese motor show with the theme “New Era, New Cars,”
MINI is celebrating the world premiere of the first-ever MINI Aceman.
With its independent, all-electric vehicle concept, the MINI Aceman
occupies the position between the MINI Cooper and the MINI Countryman.</p>
<p>Together with the electric MINI Cooper in both power levels “E” and
“SE” and the MINI John Cooper Works Countryman ALL4 with intelligent
all-wheel drive, MINI is presenting the range of its new product
portfolio at the Auto China 2024.</p>
<p>Auto China has been held in Beijing every two years since 1990. On
more than 200,000 square meters of exhibition space, over 700
exhibitors present their portfolio in what is currently the world's
  largest automotive market.</p>
<p>
<strong>The MINI Cooper: Maximum emotion in a minimal footprint.</strong>
<br />With a fully electric drive, the MINI Cooper is available as
Cooper E and with higher performance and range Cooper SE. Together
with the octagonal front grille, the iconic round headlights define
the distinctive face of the all-electric vehicle. As with the entire
new model family, four vehicle trims (Essential, Classic, Favoured,
JCW Trim) are available for the MINI Cooper.</p>
<p>At Auto China 2024, MINI presents the Cooper E in Favoured Trim. The
exclusive exterior details of the equipment variant are expressively
showcased in Sunny Side Yellow with contrasting roof and mirror caps
in white. The MINI Cooper E impresses with 135 kW/184 hp and thrilling
acceleration without delay. The battery of the MINI Cooper E (combined
power consumption: 14.3-13.8 kWh/100 km according to WLTP; combined
  CO2 emissions: 0 g/km; CO2 class: A) achieves a range of 305
kilometers in the WLTP test cycle with a capacity of 40.7 kWh.  28
minutes of charging time at 75 kW is enough to charge the MINI Cooper
  E battery from 10 percent to 80 percent.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>
  <strong> </strong></p>
<p>
  <strong>Electrified go-kart feeling with increased range.</strong>
  <br />In the MINI Cooper SE (combined power consumption: 14.7 — 14.1
kWh/ <br />100 km according to WLTP; combined CO 2
emissions: 0 g/km; CO2 class: A), the spontaneous power delivery of
the 160 kW/218 hp electric motor creates even more emotions. The
high-voltage battery with a capacity of 54.2 kWh achieves a range of
up to 402 kilometers in the WLTP test cycle.</p>
<p>At Auto China 2024, the MINI Cooper SE in British Racing Green is a
reminiscent of the racing successes of its classic predecessor.
<br />In Classic Trim, the two-tone black and blue knit surface on the
dashboard and doors provides an elegant contrast to the high-quality
seats made of vescin. The interior of the MINI Cooper is based on the
new MINI design language “Charismatic Simplicity.” <br />The round
OLED display, the characteristic toggle switch bar and the redesigned
steering wheel characterize the minimalistic look of the cockpit.</p>
<p> At its booth in Beijing, MINI also presents the Cooper SE <br />in
John Cooper Works Trim. The red contrasting roof adds a characteristic
highlight to the Legend Grey shade. Exclusive design features such as
the distinctive diffusers in the front and rear areas, the radiator
grille and the JCW logo in high-gloss black emphasize the sporty
character of the trim. In the interior, JCW sports seats with
multi-colored knitwear and black synthetic leather with red stitching
reflect the color scheme of the dashboard and door panel.</p>
<p>
  <strong> </strong></p>
<p>
  <strong>The MINI John Cooper Works Countryman ALL4: <br />Powerful
    versatility even off paved roads.</strong>
<br />Also in Beijing: The largest MINI. With standard ALL4 all-wheel
drive and 221 kW/300 hp high-performance engine, the MINI John Cooper
  Works Countryman ALL4 (combined fuel consumption: 8.3 — 7.8 l/100 km
in accordance with WLTP; combined CO 2 emissions: 187 — 177
  g/km; CO2 class: A) sprints from standstill to 100 km/h in just 5.4 seconds.</p>
<p>The typical JCW, contrasting chili red on the mirror caps, the roof
and the inlays on the air outlets, together with the shiny Midnight
Black shade, accentuate the sportiness of the model. The interior of
the versatile MINI model offers plenty of space. <br />This means that
even bulky items can be transported in the luggage compartment with a
volume of up to 1,450 liters when the bench is folded down.</p>
<p>The MINI Experience Modes are available for particularly immersive
driving experiences. In addition to specific graphic elements on the
<br />OLED display, MINI fans can experience the entire interior in a
new way through special lighting graphics in different colors and patterns.</p>
<p>Whether MINI Cooper, MINI Aceman or MINI Countryman — the new MINI
Family combines the MINI typical driving pleasure with efficient drive
technologies and numerous options for customization.</p>
<p> </p>
<p> </p>
<p> </p>
<p> </p>
<p>Fuel consumption, CO2 emission figures and power consumption and
range were measured using the methods required according to Regulation
VO (EC) 2007/715 as amended. They refer to vehicles on the German
automotive market. For ranges, the NEDC figures take into account
differences in the selected wheel and tire size, while the WLTP
figures take into account the effects of any optional equipment.</p>
<p>All figures have already been calculated based on the new WLTP test
cycle. NEDC figures listed have been adjusted to the NEDC measurement
method where applicable. WLTP values are used as a basis for the
assessment of taxes and other vehicle-related duties which are (also)
based on CO2 emissions and, where applicable, for the purposes of
vehicle-specific subsidies. Further information on the WLTP and NEDC
measurement procedures is also available at <a href="http://www.bmw.de/wltp">www.bmw.de/wltp</a>.</p>
<p>For further details of the official fuel consumption figures and
official specific CO2 emissions of new cars, please refer to the
“Manual on the fuel consumption, CO2 emissions and power consumption
of new cars”, available at sales outlets free of charge, from Deutsche
  Automobil Treuhand GmbH (DAT), Hellmuth-Hirth-Str. 1, 73760

by BMW headquarters in Germany. No adaptations have been made to
cater for the UK market.   </strong></p>
<p>
<strong>Leipzig.</strong> Electrification continues at BMW Group Plant
Leipzig: Four months after launching production of the
combustion-engined MINI Countryman, the all-electric version is now
rolling off the lines at Leipzig as well. After phasing out production
of the BMW i3, the birthplace of electric mobility at the BMW Group
has welcomed another fully electric car to its range. It now
manufactures four models with three drive types by two brands, all on
a single production line: the BMW 1 Series, the BMW 2 Series Active
Tourer (including the plug-in hybrid version), the BMW 2 Series Gran
Coupe and the MINI Countryman in both its fully electric and
  combustion-powered versions.</p>
<p>The MINI Countryman Electric represents a major step in the MINI
brand’s transition to full electrification by 2030 and combines an
electrified go-kart feel with zero local emissions mobility. It comes
in two fully electric variants: the Countryman E (150 kW, 204 hp |
  electricity consumption 17.4 – 15.7 kWh/62 miles | CO2 emissions 0
g/mile) and the more powerful all-wheel Countryman SE ALL4 (230 kW,
  313 hp | electricity consumption 18.5 – 16.8 kWh/62 miles | CO2
  emissions 0 g/mile).  </p>
<p>
<strong>Consistent plant upgrades and flexible production system</strong></p>
<p>To enable production of up to 350,000 units a year – 100,000 more
than previously – Plant Leipzig has been continuously upgraded since
2018, with extensive additions and upgrades to the bodyshop,
paintshop, assembly and logistics. “Our cars and components are very
much in demand. In recent years the BMW Group has invested around 1.6
billion euros in the Leipzig site to produce additional vehicles and
electric components, and now we’re increasing vehicle volumes too –
which is great news for our plant,” said Petra Peterhänsel, Plant Director.</p>
<p>The main driver behind the volume increase is the MINI Countryman.
During the course of 2024, output will rise to almost 500 units a day
  – on top of the 800 or so BMW vehicles the plant is producing. What’s
more, thanks to its flexible production system, Plant Leipzig is in a
position to respond quickly to customer demand, for example by
increasing the share of fully electric vehicles.</p>
<p>Flexible assembly structures also meant the MINI Countryman Electric
could be integrated seamlessly into production. The situation is
similar with the different drive units, which are all produced on one
and the same line in aggregate assembly and prepared for what’s known
as “marriage” with the body. The e-drives, transmissions and control
electronics (collectively known as the highly integrated electric
drive topology, or HEAT) for the two all-electric models are connected
directly in the plant. A new production line was required only for the
  control electronics.</p>
<p>
<strong>More staff and nightshifts for increased production volume</strong></p>
<p>Higher production volume means secure employment and up to 900
additional employees in vehicle production alone. By the end of 2024,
Plant Leipzig will employ around 7,000 BMW staff. Working hours will
need to be adjusted in all technologies, with nightshifts in assembly
starting for the first time in September of this year and cars being
produced round the clock in three shifts.</p>
<p>“Plant Leipzig first went on stream in 2005 with about 2,600
employees in production. 19 years later there are over 7,000. Over the
years, the plant has grown steadily and considerably. The start of
nightshifts in assembly represents another important milestone in the
success story of our plant and is a clear show of confidence by our
company in our site here in Leipzig,” emphasised Works Council
  Chairman Jens Köhler.</p>
<p>
<strong>Made at Plant Leipzig: high-voltage batteries for the MINI
    Countryman Electric</strong></p>
<p>With the production launch of the MINI Countryman Electric, all three
stages of the Gen 5 high-voltage battery production process are now
represented at BMW Group Plant Leipzig: cell coating, module
production and battery assembly. Operations in all three are currently
ramping up, with five cell-coating, three module-production and two
  high-voltage battery-production lines now in place.</p>
<p>“We are in the middle of the transformation to e-mobility,” said
Markus Fallböhmer, Head of Battery Production at the BMW Group.
“Starting this year, Plant Leipzig will carry out every stage of our
in-house high-voltage battery production process. It’s our next great
  step forwards.”</p>
<p>Plant Leipzig’s e-component production capacity has been increasing
since 2021. It will now manufacture not just the high-voltage
batteries for the MINI Countryman Electric but also e-components for
the BMW iX1, BMW iX2, BMW i4, BMW i5 and BMW iX made at other sites.
The e-component production unit at Leipzig currently employs some
  1,000 people.</p>
<p>To enable production of high-voltage batteries, spaces previously
used for the BMW i3 and BMW i8 have been converted and new buildings
added. One of them is a new hall with a footprint of about 61,000
m2. This houses two lines capable of producing up to
300,000 high-voltage batteries a year. The BMW Group has invested over
900 million euros in e-component production at Plant Leipzig to date.</p>
<p>
  <strong>Resource-saving painting processes</strong></p>
<p>At launch, the fully electric MINI Countryman comes in three
additional body colours: British Racing Green, Chili Red and Blazing
Blue – and with MINI’s trademark contrast roof, if desired. This is
painted using a new overspray-free method that saves resources and is
currently being readied for series operation. The term “overspray”
refers to the mist of excess paint particles that forms when bodies
are painted the conventional way. With the new technique, this mist no
longer occurs. This makes it easier to paint in multiple colours as
the laborious process of masking is no longer required. Overspray-free
painting also helps save CO2 emissions, as exhaust from the
cabin requires less cleansing. In addition, it requires considerably
less conditioned air, i.e. air that is brought to the exact
temperature and humidity required for painting. As a result, less
energy is needed to temper air and treat exhaust.</p>
<p>The burner technology used to dry the paint on contrast roofs was
also converted for the start of MINI Countryman production and now
consists of a bivalent system. The fuel-flexible burners can run on
hydrogen (H2) as well as gas (methane, CH4) and even switch between
the two while in operation. Five such bivalent hydrogen-capable
burners are used to produce the contrast roofs for the MINI Countryman.</p>
<p>Further burners in the paintshop will also gradually switch to
bivalent operations, with the next six hydrogen-capable burners just
installed. This makes Leipzig a pioneer in the automotive industry and
takes it ever closer to lower CO2 emissions. “Our vision at
Plant Leipzig is to decarbonise production as far as possible
by replacing fossil fuels with green hydrogen,” said Petra
Peterhänsel, explaining the long-term focus of the facility. This will
require sufficient green hydrogen from a grid. A regional hydrogen
grid is currently in planning, with Plant Leipzig set to benefit.</p><div class="co2emission"><div class="co2emission-headline">CO2 EMISSIONS & CONSUMPTION.</div><div class="co2emission-text"><p>

<p>
  <strong>Munich/Reykjavik.</strong> Two-digit sub-zero temperatures,
deep snow-covered routes and uneven scree tracks promise real
challenges. In the midst of Iceland's breathtaking nature, the new
MINI Countryman S ALL4 can prove its off-road qualities. In the Sport
Trim with a bright chili red body color and a shiny black contrasting
roof in jet black, the grown crossover model already exudes a visually
  superior presence.</p>
<p>“The MINI Countryman S ALL4 impresses with driving fun on any
terrain. Our customers benefit from the variability of a crossover
with a robust off-road character. The MINI Countryman is both agile
and spirited as well as safe and comfortable on longer distances,”
says Stefanie Wurst, head of MINI.</p>
<p>
<strong>Excellent even in snow and ice<br /></strong>Outdoor fans will
experience the wild side of the largest volcanic island in the world,
especially off the big roads. In winter on Iceland, rough terrain,
snow-covered scree tracks and icy climbs challenge the precise driving
qualities of the MINI Countryman S ALL4. The ALL4 all-wheel drive
system supports the driver in all road and weather conditions. The
fast and precise electronic control system distributes the drive power
between the front and rear wheels as needed.</p>
<p>In combination with the slightly increased track width and the
increased wheelbase, the model offers excellent driving dynamics with
increased comfort. The chassis can be adjusted differently depending
on the surface and environment. A well-balanced and comfortably
adjusted suspension is ideal for exploring the Icelandic crater
landscape. On solid roads and in city traffic, however, the MINI
Countryman S ALL4 is particularly agile with its direct steering and
  sporty-tuned chassis.</p>
<p>The powerful 2.0 liter twin power turbo engine impresses on Iceland's
long, straight roads with smooth running, increased output to 160
kW/218 hp and maximum torque of 360 Nm. In addition, a 48V mild hybrid
engine supports the performance of the MINI Countryman S ALL4
  (combined fuel consumption: 7.4 — 6.8 l/100 km; combined CO2
emissions: 169 — 155 g/km in accordance with WLTP) in the low speed
range through a temporary boost of 14 kW. *</p>
<p>
  <strong>Sporty design and clear aesthetics<br /></strong>The Sport
Trim gives the MINI Countryman S ALL4 an individual motorsport look
with distinctive diffusers at the front and rear. In Sport Trim, the
bright Chili Red color and the characteristic contrasting roof and
high-gloss jet black side mirrors give the body a powerful appearance.
In keeping with this, the MINI LED headlights with the selected John
Cooper Works signature only show two horizontal stripes as daytime
running lights and accentuate the minimalist design language.</p>
<p>The John Cooper Works logo features clear outlines and the typical
red-white-black color scheme on the octagonal front grille. In this
new look, the logo also adorns the distinctive C-pillar, which
connects flush with the stretched vehicle roof. Vertical rear lights
underline the upright and sporty position of the MINI Countryman S
ALL4. For the new model, light-alloy wheels are available in various
designs and sizes ranging from 17 to 21 inches.</p>
<p>
<strong>Sporty interior with a high level of travel
comfort.<br /></strong>The MINI Countryman S ALL4 offers up to five
passengers comfortable space in all seats. The backrest of the three
rear seats is individually adjustable in six positions. The back seat,
which can be moved up to 13 cm, provides either additional legroom or
even more cargo space. The bright atmosphere in the interior is
further reinforced by the panoramic glass roof. In the Sport Trim,
equipment-specific seats made of high-quality synthetic leather with
red contrasting stitching provide a secure grip and at the same time
offer the right level of comfort. The black and red color scheme of
the vehicle trim continues on the knitted surfaces of the interior
  door trim and dashboard.</p>
<p>Luggage can be easily stored in the 450-liter trunk. The rear seat
backrest, which can be flexibly divided at a ratio of 40:20:40, allows
the luggage compartment to be expanded to up to 1,450 liters as
required. This means that even bulky objects can be easily transported
when the back seat is completely folded.</p>
<p>On multi-lane roads, Driving Assistant Plus adds the option of
partially automated Level 2 driving to the MINI Countryman for the
first time. This allows the driver to take his hands off the steering
wheel up to a speed of 37 mph, provided that he continues to closely
monitor the traffic and remains ready to intervene at any time.</p>

<br />Munich. </strong>The MINI John Cooper Works models have always
been known for their exhilarating performance. With its 2.0-litre
four-cylinder engine, the new MINI John Cooper Works Countryman
embodies this unmistakable driving experience. The new model
generation of the spacious all-rounder has grown noticeably and offers
even more space, comfort and safety. And thanks to its ALL4 all-wheel
drive system, the Crossover is also very capable off the road.</p>
<p>“The MINI John Cooper Works Countryman embodies a unique combination
of style, power and a sense of adventure. With its powerful 300 hp
engine and sporty design, it is the perfect companion for anyone
looking for something special”, says Stefanie Wurst, head of the MINI brand.</p>
<p>The new design is characterised by an upright and minimalist
silhouette, through which the new MINI John Cooper Works Countryman
exudes a sense of adventure, versatility and reliability. The John
Cooper Works logo has also been redesigned with a modern, clearcut
look. For the first time, the logo is being used on the new MINI John
Cooper Works Countryman in the classic black, red, and white colour scheme.</p>
<p>With its sleek design, the new MINI John Cooper Works Countryman has
a drag coefficient of just 0.26, making it one of the most aerodynamic
cars in its class. This helps the engine, which generates 221 kW/300
hp, to accelerate the car from 0 to 62 mph in just 5.4 seconds. The
400 Nm of torque and top speed of 155 mph make for an exhilarating
  driving experience.</p>
<p>
<strong>Exceptional performance makes dynamic driving a
joy.<br /></strong>The standard all-wheel drive system distributes its
power precisely and reliably in every driving situation. A
high-performance braking system with brake calipers in Chili Red
colour ensures powerful and precise deceleration. The characteristic
sound of the exhaust flap system also makes the MINI John Cooper Works
Countryman instantly recognisable as a high-performance model. Inside,
the engine sound generated in real time enhances the emotional driving
experience. An exclusive JCW sound extension boosts the sound of the
engine start and intensifies the soundscape with racing-inspired
  engine sounds.</p>
<p>Optimised pistons, connecting rods and engine mounts extract maximum
power from the two-litre turbo engine. An advanced, dual-drive exhaust
turbocharger supercharges the engine. Together with the dethrottled
air intake to the combustion chamber, this enables the MINI John
Cooper Works Countryman to generate beefy performance and delivers an
even more dynamic driving experience in every bend. The tyre diameter,
which has been increased by 30 mm, is now 710 mm and the increased
tyre width of 245 mm enhances the typical MINI go-kart feeling.
Aerodynamically optimised 19 and 20-inch wheels, exclusive to JCW,
  round off the extensive range.</p>
<p>
<strong>Advanced assistance systems provide added comfort.</strong>
<br />The new MINI JCW Countryman features 12 ultrasonic sensors and
four surround-view cameras in total. They support the innovative
driver assistance systems and enable partially automated Level 2
driving in the comprehensive Driving Assistant Professional option
package. The assistant can detect gaps in the traffic necessary for
changing lanes heading towards an exit and brings the vehicle to the
optimum speed for the assisted lane change. For the first time,
drivers in the MINI Countryman can take their hands off the steering
wheel on highway-like routes at speeds of up to 37 mph, provided they
continue to keep a close eye on traffic and remain ready to intervene
  at any time.</p>
<p>
<strong>Great stature on any terrain. <br /></strong>The new MINI John
Cooper Works Countryman has a bold and sporty look that reflects its
performance and versatility. The exterior features a number of
model-specific details that enhance its overall appearance. For
example, the aerodynamic elements with vertical reflectors on the
front of the car emphasise its wide stance, while the new MINI LED
headlights with horizontal bars in JCW Signature Mode give the
crossover a more expressive look. The front end is also characterised
by the newly designed octagonal grille in high-gloss black and the
  newly designed three-colour JCW logo.</p>
<p>The newly designed C-pillar seamlessly joins the contrasting roof in
motorsport-inspired Chili Red. The roof curves down towards the rear,
giving the MINI JCW Countryman an agile silhouette despite its
increased height and width.<br />The high-contrast exterior design,
combined with the Legend Grey body colour, emphasises the sporty look
of the model. At the rear, the upright John Cooper Works Signature
Mode tail lights frame the upright vehicle body and underline the
  increased width.</p>
<p>
  <strong>Minimalist interior features racing DNA.<br /></strong>In the
interior, the new MINI John Cooper Works Countryman inspires with a
reduced design. The cockpit is divided into an upper and lower
section, with vertical door handles and air vents in the upper area.
This emphasizes the upright and larger overall impression of the
spacious crossover. The red and black colour scheme at the dashboard,
along the door panels and on the high-grade JCW sports seats, is a nod
to MINI's racing heritage. The dashboard is made of a two-tone textile
  made from recycled polyester.</p>
<p>The rear of the vehicle is highly versatile and spacious. The rear
row of seats can be adjusted in length by up to 13 centimetres. With
the rear seat folded down, even bulky items can be easily transported
in the 460 litre to 1,450 litre luggage compartment.</p>
<p>
<strong>Increased functionality makes for an immersive driving experience.</strong>
<br />You can use the toggle switches on the MINI toggle bar to
control all driving functions. The central, high-resolution OLED
display is home to all the other functions. Here, you can also select
the new MINI Experience Modes and set up your preferred driving
ambience using specially designed backgrounds and sounds. The Go-Kart
Mode provides a particularly sporty driving experience, and you can
hear the engine sound with impressive intensity in the cabin. The MINI
projector on the back of the OLED display can be used to bathe the
dashboard in atmospheric colour schemes and patterns that correspond
  to the selected Experience Mode.</p>
<p>In addition, you can use the voice assistant to operate numerous
functions, such as navigation, telephone, and entertainment.
Voice-controlled interaction takes place on the circular OLED display
in the form of an animation of graphic elements, typography, and an avatar.<br />

MINI Countryman is offered for the first time with choice of a fully
electric or combustion powertrain. Now in it’s third generation, the
largest member of the MINI family has grown in stature, gaining six
centimetres in height and 13 centimetres in length. The first
all-electric MINI Countryman marks a pivotal step on MINI’s journey
  towards becoming an all-electric brand.<br />
<br />“With the all-electric MINI Countryman, the largest model in the
new MINI vehicle family takes the brand into an era of locally
emission-free electric mobility. The first MINI to be manufactured in
Germany also offers the highest possible level of environmental
compatibility in production. Its versatility and powerful electric
drive make it the perfect companion in the city as well as for
adventures beyond,” says Stefanie Wurst, Head of MINI.<br />
<br />“The new MINI Countryman is our vehicle for the whole family. In
its latest generation, it has not only grown in height, length and
interior — it has also noticeably improved in character, appearance
and experience. It is now even more present, more spacious and more
stable. His presence on the front is reflected in the upright
proportions and vertical orientation of the design language. Its solid
and stable character is also immediately recognizable by the more
distinctive radiator grille, distinctive headlights and its very
sculptural bonnet,” says Oliver Heilmer, Head of MINI Design.<br />
<br />The all-electric MINI Countryman is offered in two performance
levels – E and SE ALL4 with, the combustion powered Countryman
available in three levels – C, S ALL4 and JCW ALL4 model. Customers in
the UK have the choice of three highly specified trims: Classic,
Exclusive and Sport. The new MINI Countryman is priced from £29,460
OTR, with first deliveries taking place in February 2024.<br />
  <br />
  <strong>The Exterior</strong>: <strong>expressive minimalism with
character</strong>.<br />Now in its third generation, the new MINI
Countryman offers the versatility of a compact crossover while
maintaining iconic MINI proportions: short overhangs, a short bonnet,
and a contrasting long wheelbase, while larger wheels, wider wheel
arches and the removal of chrome details add to the vehicles road
presence. This contemporary exterior design is supported by clear-cut
surfaces, a slightly curved roof, and a newly designed C-pillar,
making the vehicle appear shorter.<br />
<br />The models front end is characterised by a new octagonal grille
with a small radar sensor integrated into its surface to enable Level
2 semi-automated driving – a first for the MINI brand. Newly designed
headlights are offered with three unique light signatures for the
first time, and the daytime running light elements can be switched to
create three adjustable light signatures. At the rear, vertical light
clusters reminiscent of classic Mini design can be switched to
different modes in the same way as the front headlights. In addition,
all light modes start and end with a specially orchestrated welcome
  and goodbye animation.<br />
  <br />
<strong>Three individual trims for even more character.</strong>
  <br />The new MINI Countryman is available in three different trims;
Classic, Exclusive and Sport. The Classic trim presents the logo in
new colour Vibrant Silver, and a range of three external paint
finishes (Melting Silver, Midnight Black and Nanuq White), two roof
colour options and three wheel options, giving customers maximum flexibility.<br />
<br />The Exclusive trim adds additional exterior design elements,
such as the option for a Multitone Roof with a combination of six
different colours, as well as offering the front grille in Vibrant
Silver to match the MINI logo.<br />
<br />Finally, the Sport trim offers a distinctive front and rear
design including redesigned front bumper, rear bumper, side skirt and
spoiler while using high-gloss black as the frame for the front grille
and logo colour. Combined with a contrasting Chili Red roof and
red/black bonnet stripes available optionally, there is no doubt the
Sport trim has been inspired by its motorsport history.<br />
  <br />
  <strong>The interior: generous, digital, immersive & warm.</strong>
<br />Moving inside, the interior of the vehicle echoes the minimalist
design of the classic Mini, using just the round instrument cluster in
the centre and the infamous toggle bar below. In the new MINI
Countryman, it is precisely these two elements, in combination with
the steering wheel, that are the focus of the interior cabin.<br />
<br />The curved dashboard features a textile surface for the first
time, where a specially developed knitting process has been used to
create a versatile, easy-care textile in a two-colour design, made
entirely of recycled polyester. Unique to the Countryman, design
elements such as the air vents and door handles are vertically
aligned. Behind the steering wheel, the optional head-up display
ensures that all the relevant content appears in the driver’s field of vision.<br />
<br />Clear shapes in the cockpit and the increased space in the front
seats give the interior a modern, spacious feel, while an optional
panoramic glass roof floods the interior with natural light. The
driver and front passenger can enjoy significantly enhanced comfort
with almost three centimetres of additional width in the shoulder and
elbow area, while rear passengers benefit from 2.5 centimetres of
extra space. Between the front seats, a wide, adjustable armrest
enhances seating comfort and optionally, customers can select
electrically adjustable seats with memory and massage functions.<br />
<br />Underneath the dashboard, the newly designed toggle bar houses
the most important driving functions: parking brake, gear selector,
start/stop key, experience mode toggle and volume control. Without the
need for a gearstick, the new MINI Countryman offers more storage
space in the centre console, with larger cup holders and an open
storage compartment, alongside a wireless charging area. For those
choosing the Exclusive trim, a knitted surface and a textile strap
  comes as standard.<br />
<br />For customers choosing a combustion powertrain, the rear of the
vehicle offers a versatile space where optionally, the rear row of
seats is adjustable by up to 13 centimetres – providing either
increased legroom or additional boot space. Seat backrests are also
individually adjustable in six positions by up to 12 degrees. With the
rear seats folded flat, boot space increases from 460-litres to a
sizeable 1,450-litres. An additional floor compartment provides a
convenient space for charging accessories for the all-electric model.<br />
  <br />
<strong>World’s first OLED display revolutionises the user
experience.<br /></strong>The central OLED display sets a new
benchmark of automotive design and is the defining feature of the
interior. With a diameter of 240mm and MINI Operating System 9, all
vehicle functions can be operated with either touch or voice control,
while the display has been moved closer to the driver for easy reach.<br />
<br />The upper half of the screen displays vehicle-related
information such as speed and battery status, and can be tapped to be
displayed full screen, while the lower area houses Navigation, Media,
Phone and Climate. In the Home menu, other widgets are displayed in
thumbnail view to the left and right of the current menu function and
can be brought up and selected by swiping horizontally to the centre.
All other functions can be accessed via the menu with the display
returning to the default setting via the home button.<br />
<br />At the centre of the screen is the start menu, where
personalised content can be selected and launched by swiping to the
side. In the lower section of the screen is the fixed status bar
containing the menu items “Navigation”, “Media”, “Telephone”, “All
Apps” and, depending on the situation, “Home”, which can be selected directly.<br />
<br />Swiping up from the lower edge of the screen reveals a tool belt
where favourite functions can be stored and called up rapidly. The
tool belt can also be activated via the star button on the
multifunction steering wheel. The upper screen area is reserved for
driving-relevant content such as vehicle speed and information on
vehicle status. The optional Head-up Display shows the most important
information for the driver in their field of view.<br />
<br />The temperature for the driver and front passenger is
permanently displayed on the left- and right-hand edge of the screen.
The climate control settings are integrated into the MINI Interaction
Unit and can be adjusted on the top layer by touch or voice command.
Depending on the Experience Mode selected, a single tap on the speed
display transforms the entire MINI Interaction Unit into a
  MINI-typical speedometer.<br />
  <br />
<strong>MINI connects: the new MINI Operating System
9.<br /></strong>MINI Operating System 9 is an in-house development by
the BMW Group and is based on an Android Open Source Project (AOSP)
software stack. The interface uses all-new static and dynamic
graphical elements which blend naturally into the circular form of the
  OLED display.<br />
<br />“The new MINI Operating System 9 is characterised by simple,
emotional touch operation that is specific to MINI. Together with the
new cloudbased MINI Navigation for particularly precise and fast route
calculation, high-speed connectivity and optional 5G capability, the
new MINI Countryman takes a giant leap into the digital world, thereby
underlining the brand’s charismatic heritage,” says Stefanie Wurst,
  Head of MINI.<br />
<br />The new MINI Navigation provides maps and directions in
realistic 3D visualisations, displaying complicated turning
situations, current traffic levels and assistance with parking with
information on parking options digital payment methods and more.
Charge-optimised routes can be calculated for the all-electric MINI
Countryman immediately after entering the destination, while an
optional augmented reality function is available for the visualisation
  of turn-by-turn directions.<br />
<br />In addition, MINI Connected upgrades give customers the
opportunity to purchase additional vehicle functions. In conjunction
with the optionally available MINI Connected Package, the MINI
Connected Store provides access to a constantly evolving variety of
apps, including gaming, music, and video streaming. The new AirConsole
app provides a unique form of in-car gaming for all passengers, making
the smartphone the controller of the game on the OLED display.<br />
  <br />
<strong>A whole new MINI experience: the new MINI Experience Modes.
<br /></strong>Eight MINI Experience modes are available on the new
MINI Countryman: Core, Green, Go-Kart, Personal, Vivid, Timeless,
Trail and Balance. Each mode has specially designed backgrounds and
when one of the seven modes is selected, the display focuses on a
relevant “Mode App”. Giving drivers the opportunity to personalise the
inside cabin, the optional MINI projector housed on the back of the
OLED display immerses the dashboard in matching colour schemes and
patterns, while the combined ambient lighting provides a unique cabin experience.<br />
<br />In Go-Kart Mode, there is a focus on MINI’s racing DNA; the
display and interior as a whole feature the colours anthracite and
red, while specific analogue displays for driving dynamics complement
this mode inspired by John Cooper Works. Vivid Mode draws on the
colours of the album cover for the ambient lighting while for a unique
experience, Personal Mode allows an individually selected image to be
set as the display background via the MINI App. The dominant colours
of the image then extend across the textile dashboard surfaces by
means of a digital colour picker. The ambient lighting under the
dashboard and the door mirror are colour-coded to match these projections.<br />
  <br />
<strong>Three newly designed interior trims for an individual
look.<br /></strong>In line with focusing on reduction, the interior
offers new contemporary colours, materials, and design feature; for
example, a brand-new three-spoke steering wheel with textile strap in
the six o'clock spoke. Newly developed, high-quality, and
environment-friendly materials are also used throughout the dashboard
and door panels, where knitted surfaces are made of recycled polyester
  and feature a two-tone design.<br />
<br />Three newly designed trims of Classic, Exclusive and Sport allow
customers the ultimate choice in interior personalisation. With
Classic trim, MINI uses a modern 2D knitted textile in the interior of
a production vehicle for the first time. Black sports seats in a
high-quality synthetic leather are offered with a distinctly patterned
multitone textile to match a coloured textile band on the dashboard,
while on the dashboard and door handles, customers will find a
two-tone black knitted material. Also available within this trim is a
grey and black material featuring perforated houndstooth pattern,
while the side contrasts in blue textile.<br />
<br />The Exclusive trim features a two-tone houndstooth pattern on
the knitted-textile instrument panel and is available in two colours
with traditional accent stitching with perforated Vescin sports seats.
Customers choosing the Exclusive trim can also take the all-new
Spray-Tech roof which features a blending of three different colours.<br />
<br />The Sport trim offers a performance focused interpretation of
the new materials, combining multi-coloured knitted textile and black
synthetic leather with red stitching. A distinct front and rear design
with the vehicle grille and logo in high-gloss black is offered as
standard, while a contrasting Chili Red roof and JCW-specific red or
black bonnet stripes can be added optionally.<br />
<br />“<strong>Hey MINI!”: the first MINI Intelligent Personal
Assistant.<br /></strong>In the new MINI Countryman, numerous
functions can be controlled using the brand’s first ever fully-fledged
voice assistant. The MINI Intelligent Personal Assistant can be
activated with the greeting “Hey MINI” or by using the push-to-talk
steering wheel button. Voice-controlled interaction is displayed on
the round OLED display in the form of an animation of graphic
elements, typography, and an avatar. For the visualisation, users have
the option to choose between “MINI” – a stylised representation of a
MINI – or optionally "Spike" who will already be familiar to
  MINI fans.<br />
<br />With improved voice recognition, verbal commands are also
displayed on the central instrument cluster allowing drivers to
control navigation, telephone, entertainment, and vehicle functions by
hand movement. The MINI Intelligent Personal Assistant continuously
learns about the drive to be as helpful as possible on repetitive
routes. Drawing on geobased data the vehicle can learn to
automatically open the window when entering a car park as an example.
This makes day-to-day routines even more convenient and personal.<br />
  <br />
<strong>Advanced assistance systems: relaxed driving with improved safety.</strong>
<br />In addition to Automatic Active Cruise Control, the new MINI
Countryman supports lateral guidance with Steering and Lane Assistant,
available optionally as part of the Driving Assistant Plus package.
This comprehensive package includes a new function that helps the
  driver take the right exit based on semi-automated Level 2 driving;
using the vehicle sensors and other assistance systems, the assistant
detects gaps in the traffic necessary for the lane change towards the
exit, while ensuring the vehicle is travelling at the right speed for
  the assisted lane change.<br />
<br />For the first time, the MINI Countryman offers semi-automated
driving at speeds of up to 37mph. Up to this speed, the driver can
take their hands off the steering wheel, providing keep their eyes on
the road and are actively ready to steer and brake at all times. All
options offered by the advanced driver assistant systems are
visualised in real time by means of Assisted View on the OLED display.<br />
<br />Alongside automatic parking functions and 360-degree Parking
View, the new MINI Countryman is also able to identify possible
parking spaces, thanks to 12 ultrasonic sensors and four Surround View
cameras. The vehicle can also independently initiate space-restricted
parking procedures and if there is insufficient room at the side of
the vehicle, the car will use this function to drive out the parking
space autonomously, making it easier for the driver to get in.<br />
<br />Finally, as part of the optional Parking Assistant Professional
package, the vehicle can be manoeuvred out of a parking space via
smartphone using the new Remote Parking function.<br />
  <br />
<strong>Electrified go-kart feeling based on progressive drivetrain
    technology. </strong>
<br />The first all-electric MINI Countryman features a completely new
powertrain and is available in two variants: Countryman E and
Countryman SE ALL4 with an increased power output, two electric motors
  and all-wheel drive.<br />
  <br />The Countryman E hosts a high-voltage battery with 64.7 kWh
capacity, which provides up to 287 miles of electric range according
to the WLTP test cycle. A 150 kW/204 hp electric motor generates a
torque of 250 Nm, propelling the vehicle from 0 - 62mph in 8.6
seconds, continuing to a top speed of 105mph.<br />
<br />With an output of 230 kW/313 hp, the electric motor in the MINI
Countryman SE ALL4 achieve a combined torque of 494 Nm, accelerating
the vehicle from 0 to 62mph in 5.6 seconds, before reaching a top
speed of 111mph. Equipped with the same battery as the Countryman E,
the electric range is 269 miles.</p>

  <strong> <br /></strong>
<strong>Excellent driving dynamics for comfortable and dynamic driving
experiences.<br /></strong>The new MINI Countryman has an increased
track width and wheelbase, with a tuned suspension and damping system
for precise handling. Combined with powerful brakes, low centre of
gravity, a strut brace and highly preloaded stabiliser mounts on the
axles, the vehicle offers improved body response and steering
precision. The new MINI Countryman offers direct steering with a rack
ratio of 55 mm of rack travel per turn of the steering wheel.<br />
<br />Customers can select from different chassis configurations to
adjust the level of ride comfort, while an optional Adaptive
Suspension offers 15 mm lowering and frequency-selective dampers,
while an integrated braking system works in tandem with numerous
driver assistance systems to achieve shorter braking distances.<br />
<br />Up to 20-inch light alloy wheels made from up to 70 per cent
secondary aluminium can be specified on the new MINI Countryman,
including a choice of 17-inch aerodynamic wheels to optimise range on
all-electric models. An increase in tyre diameter by 30 mm to a total
of 710 mm supports improved driving dynamics and comfort, while the
tyre width of the optionally available 19-inch and 20-inch alloys is
  increased by 20 mm to 245 mm.<br />
  <br />
<strong>New MINI Experience Modes for individually tailored driving fun.</strong>
<br />The various MINI Experience Modes offer further individual
settings. In Go-Kart Mode for example, the suspension and throttle
response are optimised for sporty driving. The steering behaviour and
traction control are both customisable, offering even more intense
driving. By contrast, Green Mode optimises the efficiency of the
drivetrain. When activated in the all-electric MINI Countryman,
increased recuperation management helps the vehicle achieve maximum range.<br />
<br />These immersive driving experiences are enhanced by new acoustic
worlds created by the digital MINI Sounds. This includes new driving
sounds in the interior, an unmistakable MINI brand sound as a mark of
identification, jingles for the new MINI Experience Modes, and 30 new
sound signals for information and warning functions.<br />
  <br />
  <strong>Simplified and efficient battery charging.</strong>
<br />The all-electric MINI Countryman can be charged via two ways; 22
kW AC charging optionally and 130 kW DC charging, where the battery
can be charged from 10 to 80 per cent in under 30 minutes at a
fast-charging station. By using the MINI Navigation, the vehicle will
ensure the high-voltage battery reaches the ideal temperature for
efficient charging in advance, thus reducing charging time. Customers
can also optimise charging for their schedule, setting charging start
times, active charging windows, and target battery capacity by
departure time. Finally, drivers can instruct that the interior cabin
is air conditioned by a set departure time.<br />
<br />The MINI App provides a convenient overview of the vehicle
status and charging process, including current battery status,
  charging-optimised route plan and charging history.<br />
<br />The all-electric MINI Countryman is offered in two performance
levels – E and SE ALL4. Also available with innovative and efficient
petrol engines, the combustion powered Countryman is available in
three levels – C, S ALL4 and an increased output JCW ALL4 model.
Customers in the UK have the choice of three exceptionally well
specified trims: Classic, Exclusive and Sport. The new MINI Countryman
is priced from £29,460 OTR, with first deliveries taking place in
  February 2024.<br />

<br />Fuel consumption, CO2 emission figures and power consumption
were measured using the methods required according to Regulation VO
(EC) 2007/715 as amended. They refer to vehicles on the German
automotive market. For ranges, the NEDC figures take into account
differences in the selected wheel and tyre size, while the WLTP
figures take into account the effects of any optional equipment. For
vehicles newly type-approved since 01.01.2021, the official
specifications exist only according to WLTP. In addition, according to
EU Regulation 2022/195, the NEDC values will no longer be included in
the EC certificates of conformity as of 01.01.2023. All figures have
already been calculated based on the new WLTP test cycle. NEDC figures
listed have been adjusted to the NEDC measurement method where
applicable. WLTP values are used as a basis for the assessment of
taxes and other vehicle-related duties which are (also) based on CO2
emissions and, where applicable, for the purposes of vehicle-specific
subsidies. Further information on the WLTP and NEDC measurement
procedures is also available at www.bmw.de/wltp. For further details
of the official fuel consumption figures and official specific CO2
emissions of new cars, please refer to the “Manual on the fuel
consumption, CO2 emissions and power consumption of new cars”,

<strong>MINI Countryman PHEV reclaims Best Hybrid Small SUV title</strong></li></ul>
<p>
<br />BMW Group UK was once again successful at this year’s What Car?
Electric Car Awards, taking home four prized category wins across the
  Group’s electrified model portfolio.<br />
<br />The BMW 330e, i7 and i8 each secured the win in their respective
class. Whilst once again the MINI Countryman PHEV won at the awards,
topping the Best Hybrid Small SUV category.<br />
<br />For a second year in a row the BMW 330e, powered by the
combination of a 2.0 litre petrol engine and an electric motor
producing 292hp, took home the illustrious ‘Best Used Hybrid Executive
Car’ award. Steve Huntingford, Editor, What Car? said, "If you
buy used, the 330e costs less than key rivals. Yet it's more
entertaining than any of them to drive, thanks to sharp, well-balanced
handling. It's a comfortable car, too (particularly if you buy an
example equipped with the M Sport Pro Pack), and all versions come
with an infotainment system that's wonderfully intuitive."<br />
<br />With What Car? believing "BMW's flagship saloon is
undoubtedly one of the most complete cars on sale today” the BMW i7
has added ‘Best Electric Luxury Car’ to its growing tally of awards.
Offering a cutting-edge digital experience with the BMW Theatre Screen
and BMW Interaction Bar, the BMW i7 combines striking style with a
luxurious interior to lead its segment. What Car? states “It combines
superb ride comfort and effortless performance with a long range and
fast charging. What's more, it's hugely spacious and available with a
rear entertainment system that offers audio and visuals worthy of the
  best cinemas."<br />
  <br />Launched in 2012, the BMW i8 was a trailblazer in the
performance car segment and continues to impress over 10 years on,
collecting the ‘Best Used Hybrid Performance Car’ at the 2023 What
Car? Electric Car Awards. Steve Huntingford said, "It may have
been discontinued, but the BMW i8 still looks like the future. And in
many ways it feels like it, too, with its lightweight construction
boosting performance, agility and efficiency. Our advice would be to
buy one while you can, because we think prices are only going to go up."<br />
<br />Finally, the MINI Countryman PHEV reclaimed its title as ‘Best
Hybrid Small SUV’, with What Car? judges applauding its “smart
interior design” and class-leading build quality. Huntingford
summarises, “The Countryman takes the style of the traditional Mini
hatchback and applies it to a much more practical, family-friendly
package,” with a pure electric range that is “easily long enough for
  the school run.”<br />

<strong>Note: This press release is a 1:1 copy of the original issued
by BMW headquarters in Germany. No adaptations have been made to
cater for the UK market. <br />
<br />Lochearnhead. </strong>Deep green meadows, brilliant sun and
stormy rain showers alternating every minute, plus sensational views
of the vast landscape: the Scottish Highlands are a natural wonderland
and have always captivated visitors. Between the approximately
1,000-metre-high mountains called Munros with their characteristic
pyramid shape, rivers and lochs repeatedly cut deep into the ancient
rock of this region steeped in history. Lochs is what the Scots call
their crystal-clear lakes, and Loch Lomond, the largest lake in the
United Kingdom, is located in the national park of the same name. The
perfect destination for challenging test drives with the
  adventure-ready third-generation MINI Countryman.<br />
  <br />
<strong>From the rustic Castle Hill to the wild world of the Munros.</strong>
<br />The tour starts in the small town of Stirling. From the castle
hill of Stirling Castle, one of the largest and most important castles
in Scotland, the view extends far into the Highlands of Loch Lomond
National Park. Stirling Castle was first mentioned in documents in the
12th century. It flourished under the early royal family of the
Stewarts during the Renaissance. <br />
<br />From Stirling, take the A84 and A85 north along dense forests
and deep blue lakes to the small village of Mid Lix. The branching
A827 invites you to take a detour to the north-eastern mountain range
along the shore of Loch Tay. Here, the MINI Countryman can demonstrate
its comfortable and sporty driving dynamics for the first time on the
winding route through the Munros. <br />
<br />Below Ben Lawers - at 1,214 metres one of the highest Munros in
the region - the impressive dam of the same name dams up 344 metres of
water from the surrounding mountain rivers. The MINI Countryman with
its SAV presence fits perfectly into Scotland's unspoilt landscape.
The necessary equipment for extended hikes can easily be stored in the
  spacious boot.<br />
  <br />
<strong>On the trail of James Bond.<br /></strong>The ups and downs of
the Scottish Highlands awaken the visitor's urge to discover anew with
each ascent. On the way northwest, the A82 leads into the Glencoe
Mountain Range. Along the way, the winding road repeatedly passes
numerous rivers, which flow into the spectacular loch landscape of
Lochan na h-Achlaise behind the historic Bridge of Orchy. <br />
<br />Just beyond the bridge over Glen Etive, a narrow path leads
south along the wild river with its numerous waterfalls deeper and
deeper into the valley. The River Etive is considered one of the most
challenging white water kayaking routes in Scotland. No wonder Daniel
Craig as secret agent 007 also chose the route along its banks for a
spectacular ride in the film "James Bond: Skyfall" to lose
pursuers. On the way back south, the off-road tyres of the MINI
Countryman ALL4 are undoubtedly better than the British sports car of
  the world's most famous agent.<br />
  <br />
  <strong>Natural beauty and Atlantic delicacies.</strong>
<br />Back on the A82 towards Arrochar, the waterfalls of Falloch
offer a special vantage point. From here, continue south, with Loch
Lomond in view at all times on the left, until the branching A83 leads
west to Loch Fyne. It is the northernmost spur of the Clyde Fjord,
which cuts deep into this stretch of coast from the Atlantic. Its
tidal movements can be felt as far as Glasgow Harbour and the
associated currents make the waters of Loch Fyne particularly fresh
and nutrient-rich. Ideal conditions for breeding oysters and best
hunting ground for numerous fish species. The result tastes best in
the Loch Fyne Oysterbar, where you should definitely stop at the end
of this adventurous discovery tour - of course with a wide view of the
  sea and mountains. <br />
  <br />

<p> </p>
<p>The new MINI Countryman is the biggest and most versatile model to be
launched in the brand’s 57-year history. With its larger external
dimensions, and increases in space throughout the cabin and luggage
area, it offers occupants even greater comfort and a genuinely premium
ambience. Useful new features such as electric tailgate control with
touch-free opening and unique options, including a fold down picnic
bench at the rear, add to the ownership experience</p>
<p> </p>
<p>The Countryman’s on- and off-road ability is readily apparent
throughout its design, which fuses familiar MINI styling with the
tough look of a crossover thanks to the extended ground clearance,
large wheel arches and short overhangs.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>For the first time MINI is offering a plug-in hybrid model with the
new MINI Cooper S E Countryman ALL4. Drawing from expertise gleaned
from across the BMW Group, this new hybrid features a turbocharged
petrol engine and an electric motor, reducing fuel consumption to
134.5 mpg yet also enabling a 0-62 mph time of just 6.9 seconds.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>The rest of the new MINI Countryman line-up is powered by an all-new
range of engines sourced from the latest MINI TwinPower Turbo
generation, offering outstanding performance and efficiency. With
between 136 – 192 hp and 220 -400 Nm of torque, the new MINI
Countryman can sprint from 0-62 mph in as little as 7.2 seconds, while
fuel consumption reaches 64.2 mpg and C02 emissions drop as low as 113 g/km.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>The new MINI Countryman is available with both manual and Steptronic
gearboxes and with front- and all-wheel drive. The latter, MINI’s ALL4
system, has been further refined for increased driving agility and efficiency.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>Reflecting customer demand for high-end features, equipment levels on
the new MINI Countryman have been bolstered versus the outgoing model.
Additions to the standard equipment list include MINI’s acclaimed
Satellite Navigation System, Bluetooth, Cruise Control, Emergency
E-call and Active Guard among others. Naturally, being a MINI, there
is broad scope for owners to personalise their new Countryman, with
extensive colour and trim options, advanced technology features and a
range of option packs that offer carefully selected items with
significant cost savings for the customer. One such option is a new
8.8” inch touchscreen display as part of the MINI Navigation System
XL, offering touchscreen multimedia and navigation control for the
  first time in a MINI.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>The new MINI Countryman is available to order at MINI retailers
nationwide, with prices starting at £22,465 for the Cooper Countryman.
First UK deliveries will be in February. Prices for the plug-in hybrid
model will be announced in due course.</p>

<p>
<strong>Exterior Design: recognisably MINI with a powerful presence</strong></p>
<p>The new MINI Countryman is some 20 centimetres longer than its
predecessor and three centimetres wider, while its wheelbase has been
extended by 7.5 centimetres. These enlarged proportions – making it
the largest of any MINI on sale - form the basis of a new design that
has both the unmistakable MINI aura and the additional presence borne
from an extended ground clearance and specific off-road design
details. For example, the standard-fit roof rails in satin-finished
aluminium are combined with silver-coloured side sill tops, thereby
lending greater visual emphasis to the car’s height. The familiar
‘floating roof’, large headlamps and hexagonal radiator grille are all
present, albeit having undergone careful evolution. From the front,
the headlamp units differ from other MINI models by having an
asymmetric shape, with LED lighting now an option. And at the rear,
the vertically arranged light units help create the family ‘look’.</p>
<p>
  <strong> </strong></p>
<p>
<strong>Interior Design: more space, more versatility, more style</strong></p>
<p>The interior ambience of the new MINI Countryman has been further
improved by the creation of more space, an attractive design, and a
new operating and vehicle display concept.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>The hallmark MINI central instrument is integrated in the instrument
panel and is surrounded by an LED ring that provides a lighting
display in response to driving situations by way of feedback from the controls.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>Both driver and front passenger benefit from extended head and
shoulder space, while the adjustment range of the seats has also been
extended. Electrical adjustment of the driver and front passenger
seats is now an option, including a memory function on the driver's side.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>The second row of seating now contains three fully-fledged seats, and
the rear door openings have been enlarged, enabling easier entry and
exit. In addition to overall interior width, leg space is now
significantly more generous too, with an extra five centimetres of
knee room over the previous model. The rear seats can be shifted back
and forth by up to 13 cm, prioritising either passenger legroom or
boot capacity depending on the situation. The folding rear backrest
  offers a 40 : 20 : 40 split and also provides a variable tilt angle so
as to also offer either increased seating comfort or additional
  storage space at the rear.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>The new model also benefits from more storage for on-board items and
increased overall cargo capacity both with the seats in position and
when lowered. In both the front and rear doors there are pockets that
hold one-litre beverage bottles and the centre console extending up to
the instrument panel has an integrated storage compartment and two cup
holders in front of the gear or selector lever. The MINI Controller
and the switch for the electrical parking brake are also positioned on
  the centre console.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>The luggage compartment volume is 450 litres and can be extended by
folding the rear seats to a total of 1,309 litres. This constitutes a
maximum increase of 220 litres as compared to the previous generation model.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>The luggage area can be accessed via an optional electric tailgate
with touch-free opening and closing possible in conjunction with
Comfort Access. The optional storage package comprises a variable load
floor, lashing eyes and tension straps and also a stainless steel
insert on the loading sill. One unique option is the Picnic Bench – a
flexible surface that folds out of the luggage compartment and
  provides seating for two people.</p>
<p> </p>
<p> </p>
<p>
<strong>Engine and transmission: new engines provide increased
    performance and efficiency</strong></p>
<p>The new MINI Countryman is available at launch with a choice of four
new engines: two petrol-powered variants and two diesels. In addition,
for the first time there will be a plug-in hybrid MINI, the Cooper S E
  Countryman ALL4 (see below).</p>
<p> </p>
<p>The new EU6-compliant MINI TwinPower Turbo engines are familiar from
the other recent additions to the MINI family. The petrol engines, a
  1.5-litre three-cylinder in the Cooper Countryman and a 2.0-litre
four-cylinder in the Cooper S Countryman, feature turbocharging,
direct fuel injection with centrally positioned injectors, variable
camshaft control on the intake and exhaust side (double VANOS) and
fully variable VALVETRONIC valve control technology.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>The result is 136 hp and 220 Nm of torque in the Cooper, which
enables a 0-62 mph time of 9.6 seconds and fuel consumption and
  emissions figures of 51.4 mpg/126 g/km. The Cooper S produces 192 hp
with 280 Nm of torque, and completes the sprint to 62mph from rest in
  just 7.5 seconds, yet still manages 45.6 mpg with 141 g/km of C02 emitted.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>The 2-litre diesel engines in the MINI Cooper D Countryman and MINI
Cooper SD Countryman both also feature MINI TwinPower Turbo
technology, with high pressure common rail injection. The 150 hp / 330
Nm engine in the Cooper D enables a very competitive 0-62 mph time of
just 8.9 seconds (considerably quicker than the previous model) but
with 64.2 mpg and 113 g/km of C02 emitted. The high performance Cooper
SD Countryman features 190 hp and a full 400 Nm of toque, providing a
0-62mph sprint of just 7.7 seconds but with 61.4 mpg and 121 g/km of
  C02 emitted.</p>

  <strong>MINI Cooper S E Countryman ALL4: MINI’s first plug-in hybrid</strong></p>
<p>For the first time a MINI is available with a plug-in hybrid system,
achieving outstanding performance with extremely low consumption and
emissions. The new MINI Cooper S E Countryman ALL 4 draws on the
expertise in this area from across the BMW Group, including the range
  of BMW iPerformance vehicles.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>A three-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine with MINI TwinPower
technology, producing 136 hp and 220 Nm of torque, powers the front
wheels of the Cooper S E Countryman. This engine is combined with a
six-speed Steptronic transmission. The rear wheels are powered by a
synchronous electric motor housed under the floor of the luggage
compartment. This motor offers 88 hp and 165 Nm of torque, with all of
the torque available from zero rpm. The motor’s output is sent to the
  rear axle via a two-stage single-speed transmission.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>The lithium-ion battery is positioned directly in front of the
electric motor underneath the rear seat. It is made up of five
modules, each comprising 16 battery cells. Like the electric motor,
the battery is produced at the Dingolfing plant, the BMW Group’s
competence centre for eDrive technology. The high-voltage battery has
a capacity of 7.6 kWh. At a wallbox with a charging capacity of 3.6 kW
it can be fully charged in 2:15 hours, while charging at a regular
household socket takes 3:15 hours. The intelligent energy management
system, controlled by the power electronics of the plug-in hybrid
system, ensures that the interplay between the combustion engine and
the electric motor is optimised for both driving fun and efficiency in
all situations. Using the power of the electric motor alone, the
MINI Cooper S E Countryman ALL4 is able to provide locally
emissions-free driving, and in the event that more intense
acceleration is required, the electric motor supports the combustion
engine via a boost function. A total system output of 224 hp and a
combined torque of 385 Newton metres are available, enabling 0-62 mph
in just 6.9 seconds. Fuel consumption and C02 emissions are very low,
with 134.5 mpg and 49 g/km respectively, and the Cooper S E Countryman
can travel up to 25-miles on electric power alone.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>Via the eDrive toggle switch, the driver can also influence control
over the interaction of the power units. There are three operating
modes: Auto, Max and Save Battery. In the standard setting AUTO
eDRIVE, the vehicle runs on electrical power only up to a speed of 50
mph. At higher speeds and in the case of very intensive loads, the
combustion engine is automatically enabled in addition. In MAX eDRIVE
mode the vehicle is powered by the electric motor alone at speeds up
to approximately 78 mph. Finally, the SAVE BATTERY mode can be
selected so as to relieve the capacity of the high-voltage battery or
raise its charge state to at least 90 per cent so that sufficient
electrical power remains for locally emissions-free driving later on.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>With route guidance activated on standard specification navigation
system, MINI Cooper S E Countryman ALL4 uses an anticipatory energy
management system to ensures that appropriate sections of the route
are run on electric power alone.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>The high-voltage battery is housed underneath the slightly raised
rear seat, as is the 35-litre fuel tank. When all seats are in use,
the luggage compartment volume in the MINI Cooper S E Countryman ALL4
is only slightly less than in the conventionally powered models. The
connection for the charging cable is under a flap in the area of the
  left-hand side scuttle.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>This particular model is distinguishable by the model-specific “e”
badge on the side scuttles, and also a yellow “S” in the model
inscription on the rear as well as on the radiator grille and doorsill
finishers. At the rear, a JCW aerodynamic rear bumper features a
single exhaust outlet. Inside, the cockpit includes a yellow
start/stop unit at the centre of the toggle switch panel and a
performance display in the instrument cluster on the steering column.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>The MINI Cooper S E Countryman ALL4 comes as standard with the MINI
Visual Boost Radio featuring a 6.5-inch colour screen in the central
instrument. In addition to the MINI Country Timer, this also displays
information such as the charge state of the high-voltage battery and
operating mode of the hybrid drive selected by eDrive toggle switch.
In conjunction with the optional Media package including MINI
navigation system XL, operation is via an 8.8-inch screen with a new
graphic design and touchscreen function as well as via the Touch
  Controller in the centre console.</p>

  <strong>ALL4: improved version of MINI’s all-wheel drive system</strong></p>
<p>MINI’s all-wheel drive system, ALL4, is available as an option on all
engine variants. This latest version of the system not only reacts
quickly and precisely to changing situations, it is also compact and
offers a high level of internal efficiency. It consists of a power
take-off unit integrated in the front axle differential, a propeller
shaft leading to the rear axle and a hang-on clutch that ensures
precisely measured transmission of the drive torque to the rear
wheels. The system's electronic control is interconnected with the
Dynamic Stability Control DSC, so it detects any need to adapt power
distribution early on. In this way, ALL4 optimises both traction and
stability in adverse weather and road surface conditions, as well as
ensuring improved agility when driving through bends in a sporty
    manner<strong>. </strong></p>
<p>
  <strong> </strong></p>
<p>
<strong>Chassis: sophisticated chassis with adaptive technology</strong></p>
<p>The advanced suspension of the new MINI Countryman combines the
well-proven principle of a single-joint spring strut axle at the front
and a multilink rear axle with a design that is optimised for weight
and rigidity as well as with a set up specific to this model.
Servotronic steering, powerful brakes and Dynamic Stability Control
DSC form part of a highly developed chassis package.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>Dynamic Damper Control is an option: two program maps can be
activated for the electronically controlled dampers via the likewise
optional MINI Driving Modes. A rotary switch at the base of the gear
or selector lever enables the driver to select a set-up according to
one of the three modes - MID, SPORT and GREEN. This also influences
the accelerator pedal and steering curve, the operating mode of
electrically powered comfort features and the engine sound and shift
characteristics of the Steptronic transmission, depending on engine
  and fittings.</p>
<p>
  <strong> </strong></p>
<p>
<strong>Safety: driver assistance systems for improved safety</strong></p>
<p>In addition to a strong but weight-optimised monocoque construction
and a full complement of airbags, the standard and optional driver
assistance systems are a key factor in improving occupant safety. The
standard collision warning with city braking function can be extended
to include the Driving Assistant system with camera-based active
cruise control, pedestrian warning with initial brake function, high
beam assistant and road sign detection. In addition to this, Park
Distance Control, rear view camera, Parking Assistant and
  Head-Up-Display are also optionally available.</p>
<p>
  <strong> </strong></p>
<p>
<strong>Equipment and options: build your perfect MINI Countryman with
    extensive options and packs</strong></p>
<p>75% of customers who purchased the outgoing MINI Countryman model in
the UK selected a Pepper, Chili or Sport pack for their vehicle.
Reflecting customer demand for high-end features, MINI has
significantly raised the level of standard equipment offered on the
new Countryman, with many features previously included in the ‘Pepper’
pack on the outgoing MINI Countryman now offered as standard.
Highlights include 16” alloy wheels on Cooper and Cooper D models,
rear parking sensors (PDC), MINI Connected and Bluetooth connectivity.
MINI Cooper S and Cooper SD Countryman models add 17” alloy wheels and
cloth/leather upholstery. All models in the MINI Countryman range now
benefit from Satellite Navigation as standard.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>The standard entertainment system is the MINI Visual Boost Radio
featuring a 6.5-inch colour display in the central instrument.
Bluetooth hands-free telephone facility and satellite navigation are
also both standard on the new MINI Countryman.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>Options include the Harman Kardon hi-fi speaker system and the MINI
navigation system XL, which comprises not just the Touch Controller on
the centre console but also an 8.8-inch colour touchscreen in the
central instrument with a new graphic design.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>Another new feature offered as standard is the MINI Country Timer.
This fun feature registers all travel over sloping, uneven,
un-surfaced and snow-covered roads and tracks. As soon as the new
MINI Countryman moves on demanding terrain, the type and extent of the
challenge are detected and shown on the display in the central
instrument by means of graphics. The driving situation is analysed
based on data supplied by the control unit of the Dynamic Stability
Control function. Owners can progress from the status of “Street
Cruiser” to the “Cliff Champ” category, and the icon of the MINI on
the display grows to be a MINI monster truck.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>The program of optional equipment items further includes two-zone
automatic air conditioning, a panorama glass roof and a tow hitch with
removable ball head. Depending on the engine type, the permitted
  trailer load is between 1,500 - 1,800 kg.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>The broad range of exterior paint finishes, seat upholstery types and
interior surfaces enables individualisation of the new MINI Countryman
in a way that reflects personal style. However, owners can choose to
personalise their vehicles further with the aid of MINI’s option
packs. These bring together a wealth of optional equipment but with a
considerable cost saving compared to buying the items individually.
The most popular of these is set to be the Chilli Pack, which for
example enjoys a 75 per cent take up rate on the new MINI Clubman. The
Chilli Pack includes automatic air conditioning, the MINI driving
modes, sports seats (trimmed in part-leather or cloth/leatherette) and
LED headlamps amongst a long list of items. The price of the pack is
£2,980, but the saving for the customer is £1,150.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>The JCW Chilli Pack (£4,950/£4,250 for ‘S’ models) includes all of
the above plus items such as the JCW aerodynamics kit, sports
suspension and 18” wheels. Its price depends on whether it’s fitted to
a Cooper or Cooper S model. The Media Pack (£950) includes the MINI
Navigation System XL, MINI Find Mate, MINI Connected XL and the
Extended phone prep with wireless charging. Meanwhile, the MINI Yours
Pack (£2,300/£1,825 for ‘S’ models) brings 19” alloy wheels, leather
‘Lounge’ seats, and a choice from three MINI Yours illuminated facia
panels on the dashboard: Chestnut, British Oak or Piano Black. The
MINI Teck Pack (£2,090) provides a rear view camera, Harman Kardon
hi-fi, MINI Head-up display and the Media Pack XL contents. Finally,
the MINI Activity Pack (£850) features the sliding rear seats, the
picnic bench and the automatic tailgate amongst other items.  </p>

<strong>New from MINI Connected: personal mobility assistant and MINI</strong>
  <strong> </strong>
  <strong>Find</strong>
  <strong> </strong>
  <strong>Mate. </strong></p>
<p>MINI Connected now goes beyond the familiar in-car infotainment
functions to become a personal mobility assistant. Based on a flexible
platform called the Open Mobility Cloud, MINI Connected integrates the
vehicle seamlessly into the MINI driver’s digital life via touchpoints
such as the Apple iPhone and Apple Watch.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>At the heart of this connectivity lies MINI Connected, the personal
mobility assistant available to MINI drivers with new innovative
services as of October 2016. Here, individual mobility planning
enables punctual, stress-free arrival at appointments. And mobility
doesn’t start in the car: MINI Connected informs the driver of the
optimum departure time based on calendar entries and current traffic
data. Address data and appointments saved by the driver previously on
a smartphone via MINI Connected are automatically transferred to the
car and do not have to be entered in the navigation system again.
MINI Connected can also save regularly visited places as favourite
destinations and it detects frequently covered routes such as the
daily run between home and work so as to be able to inform the driver
in the event of unexpected traffic delays.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>Another new feature in the area of connectivity is MINI Find Mate.
This forms part of the Media pack and consists of so-called tags with
a wireless tracking function that can be attached to frequently used
objects and travel items such as bags, cases, key rings and rucksacks.
MINI Find Mate is able to track the location of any such objects
connected to the system that the driver wants to be sure not to
forget: tracking is done not only on the on-board computer of the
MINI Countryman but also on a smartphone. Providing there is a
Bluetooth connection with the tag, an acoustic signal can be activated
in the car or on the smartphone to help locate the object. If the tag
is outside the Bluetooth range, the driver can be guided to the place
at which a connection was last detected.</p>
