the year having collected a variety of industry accolades. Celebrated
for its class-leading product lineup, benchmark fleet management and
gold-standard UK manufacturing operations, the company continues to
set the standard across various sectors.

All-new BMW iX3 honoured as Carwow’s Tech Trailblazer
.
Premiering a broad spectrum of innovations and new
technologies, the all-new BMW iX3 was honoured as Carwow’s Tech
Trailblazer at the publication’s annual Car of the Year Awards. Judges
were impressed with the SAV’s advancements, with Mat Watson, Chief
Content Officer at Carwow, commenting, “Most new cars barely nudge at
the needle of progress, but the new BMW iX3 pushes it so far along
that it’s basically tied itself into a knot. Its sophisticated
underpinnings offer hyper-fast charging, a massive battery allowing
over 500 miles of range and a minimalist but rich digital experience.”

Arriving as the first series-produced Neue Klasse model, the BMW
iX3 marks a significant milestone for BMW Group in the company’s
journey towards enhanced electrification, digitalisation and
circularity. “The new BMW iX3 is a car to get excited about, not just
for what it is, but for what it represents - the march of progress.”
Watson continued.

BMW 7 Series named Best Luxury Car for the third consecutive
year at the Parkers New Car Awards 2026.
Now in its
ninth year, the Parkers New Car Awards reflect the ever-changing needs
of Britain’s car-buying public, where winners are selected based on a
combination of expert reviews and consumer purchasing trends.
Following this year’s ceremony, the BMW 7 Series continues its reign
as Parkers’ Best Luxury Car, leading the category for the third
consecutive year.

Introduced in 2022, the latest-generation BMW 7 Series continues
to demonstrate why it is regarded as the ultimate luxury saloon,
combining “comfort, innovation and sophistication” to portray the
“ultimate expression of modern luxury.” Parkers judges paid tribute to
the model’s “class, comfort and poise” alongside its versatility –
offering “masses of appeal for businesses, drivers and, most
importantly, the VIP in the back.”

Triple victory for BMW Group UK at the Auto Express Used Car
Awards.
Auto Express recently announced its favourite
used cars for 2025, where the BMW 3 Series was crowned overall Used
Car of the Year. Utilising the industry-leading Driver Power survey,
the annual awards help customers identify the best used cars across a
range of categories.

In addition to claiming the headline accolade, the BMW 3 Series
also topped the Best Compact Executive Car category, “proving it’s a
car that has everything”, said Paul Barker, Editor of Auto Express.
“It drives well, is practical and well-equipped and best answers the
question where Auto Express team would spend their own money.” With
its diverse lineup of powertrains and body styles, “From efficient
diesels to hybrids or high-power petrol models, and saloon or Touring
estate, there’s a 3 Series for everyone,” he added.

The MINI Convertible was also firm favourite, retaining its
position as Best Used Convertible. Auto Express’ “champion drop-top”
impressed with its “cheeky looks and great handling.” It’s a car “that
easily puts a smile on your face,” Barker concluded.

BMW 3 Series awarded Premium Used Car of the Year at Motor
Trader Industry Awards.
Adding a further award to its
cabinet, the BMW 3 Series was unveiled as Premium Used Car of the Year
at the annual Motor Trader Industry Awards. The judging panel
described the BMW 3 Series as “the ‘gold standard’ for affordable,
driver-focused transport in the premium segment”, praising its
“brilliantly connected driving experience” and versatile selection of powertrains.

Awards.
BMW Group collected three accolades at the 2025
Autovista Residual Value Awards. Evaluated across seventeen European
countries and based on insightful data, these awards recognise
vehicles that demonstrate excellent value retention across a number of categories.

The BMW 1 Series topped the Compact Car category, “attracting
buyers with its promise of premium quality, sporty driving dynamics,
and advanced technology”, said Autovista. Meanwhile, MINI secured two
titles, as the MINI Aceman emerged as best Small BEV, and the MINI
Cooper retained its position as leader of the Small Car category. The
MINI Aceman was described as “a fresh and fashionable entry into the
premium small BEV market”, while the MINI Cooper was commended for its
reputation as “fun to drive”, combined with a “high-quality interior
and extensive customisation options.”

BMW Group secures two headline accolades at the Fleet News
FN50 Awards.
Widely recognised as setting the standard
for industry excellence, the annual Fleet News FN50 Awards acknowledge
success and innovation across the UK’s automotive sector. This year,
BMW Group triumphed securing both headline awards: Most Reliable
Carmaker and Most Reliable Car - awarded to the BMW 3 Series.

Reflecting on BMW Group’s success, Andrew Jago, General Manager,
Corporate Sales BMW Group UK commented, “Once again, data from the
UK’s 50 largest leasing companies has confirmed BMW Group as the most
reliable carmaker based on breakdown and warranty claims. This is the
tenth occasion that BMW and MINI have shared this accolade,
underlining our commitment to quality and consistency.

We are equally proud that the BMW 3-Series retains its title as

design language, the new MINI Paul Smith Edition marks the next step
in the successful collaboration between two British icons.

A partnership grounded in shared values of craftsmanship,
creativity and innovation, the new MINI Paul Smith Edition follows in
the footsteps of the original Paul Smith Classic Mini from 1998, the
MINI STRIP in 2021 and the MINI Recharged by Paul Smith from 2022.

Launching first with the MINI Cooper Electric and closely
followed by the MINI Cooper 3-Door, 5-Door and Cooper Convertible, the
British designer onboards his design language mantra ‘classic with a
twist’ to the latest MINI Paul Smith Edition. The MINI Paul Smith
Edition will celebrate its world premiere at the Japan Mobility Show
on 29 October 2025.

Speaking on the introduction of the new MINI Paul Smith Edition,
Sir Paul Smith comments “It’s not often that you see two icons of
British design work together in this way and it’s wonderful that our
partnership has carried on over so many years. The MINI Paul Smith
Edition has been a real privilege and a wonderful opportunity… new
colours and new unexpected details will be a welcomed surprise.”

The new MINI Paul Smith Edition showcases the familiar MINI
design language with an influx of Paul Smith styling details
throughout both the exterior and interior, bringing together the
shared history of MINI and Paul Smith into the present day.

Holger Hampf, Head of MINI Design, comments “MINI and Paul Smith
embody a shared mindset of positivity, embracing the motto of this
edition: ‘Every day is a new beginning.’ Our collaboration celebrates
a mutual love for design and meticulous attention to detail.
Unexpected elements such as the ‘hello’ projection on the ground and
Paul Smith’s handwritten inscription bring a smile to your face right
upon entering the car.”

Familiar MINI exterior design with a further British
twist:
The new MINI Paul Smith Edition is offered with
three exterior paint choices – two of which are introduced exclusively
for this edition. Statement Grey is a modern interpretation of the
classic Mini Austin Seven colour from 1959 – a clear, bluish-tinted
grey shade – while Inspired White is a contemporary homage to the
popular Classic Mini Beige shade. The final paint colour, Midnight
Black, can already be specified accross the MINI Family.

Two roof variants - a specially created Nottingham Green (a
homage to Sir Paul’s birthplace) or Jet Black – characterise the
edition, alongside Nottingham Green wing mirror caps and bordering to
the octagonal front grille. To further compliment the roof, a Paul
Smith ‘Signature Stripe’ can be found for those who chose the
Nottingham Green option, and for Jet Black customers, elegant gloss
and matt black stripes.

Other exterior details include a handwritten Sir Paul Smith
‘hello’ puddle light projected from the door mirrors and signature on
the rear of the model, while the MINI logo has been given a newly
designed Black/Blue colour combination for this Edition. 18-inch Night
Spoke alloy wheels in Dark Steel complete with Nottingham Green centre
caps displaying Paul Smith lettering complete the exterior design of
this Edition.

Thoughtful signature styling: Inside the MINI Paul Smith
Edition.
Moving inside, there are numerous Paul Smith
details throughout. Upon entering the car, the driver and front
passenger will be greeted with Smith’s handwritten motto ‘Everyday is
a new beginning’ on the door sills, while a graphic of a hand-drawn
rabbit by Paul Smith can be found on the front floormat.

The familiar knitted dashboard and door panels of the MINI
Cooper have been tweaked to include Paul Smith tone-on-tone striped
patterns to add a subtle, yet striking addition to the interior.

The steering wheel showcases the same Black/Blue coloured MINI
logo, while the bottom of the steering wheel sits the iconic Paul
Smith ‘Signature Stripe’ alongside the Paul Smith wordmark.

Vescin sports seats - finished in Nightshade Blue - showcase the
familiar Paul Smith stripes spread across the top of the seats with a
stitched Paul Smith logo and blue stitching which can be found across
the seats and steering wheel.

Further key touchpoints inside the Edition such as door handles,
speaker grilles, steering wheel surrounds and cup holders, are all
finished in Dark Steel, bringing together the hero colour palette of
the new MINI Paul Smith Edition.

A history of MINI and Paul Smith.
As familiar
collaborators, this partnership has always been a tribute to creative
expression and individuality, perfectly embodying the essence and
character of both brands. The joint creative success story began in
1998, when the designer created a limited edition of the classic Mini:
a specially created “Paul Smith Blue” colour and matching
anthracite-coloured alloy wheels lent the iconic model the signature
of Paul Smith.

In 1999, as a celebration of the 40th birthday for
the classic Mini, a one-off example was dipped in Sir Paul's
characteristic stripe design, showcasing 86 stripes in 26 colours and
remains a key visual cue for the Paul Smith brand.

In 2021, MINI celebrated the world premiere of the MINI STRIP, a
custom-made, one-off model co-created by Paul Smith and MINI, shining
the spotlight on sustainability in automotive design and
manufacturing. The joint design process applied the principles of
maximum reduction, to produce a minimalist, high-class design with a
fresh and unconventional appeal.

Most recently in 2022, the British designer converted his
classic Mini from the 1998 collaboration and reinvented the model by
installing an electric motor to replace the combustion powered engine.
The customised car was a part of the MINI Recharged project, which
celebrated the fusion of tradition with pioneering technology,

Paul Smith MINI Collection:
Creativity flows in
both directions - Paul Smith finds inspiration in MINI, just as MINI
looks to the designer for cues in exclusive pieces in his collections.
To celebrate the launch of the latest edition, Paul Smith will debut a
collection of capsule bags, inspired by key details from the latest
MINI collaboration.

The Paul Smith Edition will be priced from £32,705 OTR, with
first customer deliveries expected in Spring 2026. The edition will
make its world premiere at the Japan Mobility Show on 29 October 2025.
Note: This press release is a 1:1 copy of the original issued
by BMW headquarters in Germany. No adaptions have been made to cater
to the UK market.

Munich / Tokyo. The Japan Mobility Show 2025 becomes
the stage for the latest milestone in the long-standing collaboration
between MINI and British designer Paul Smith. It will be unveiled as
part of the BMW Group Keynote on 29 October 2025 at 09:55 (JST) at the
BMW Group stand, based in the West Exhibition Hall of the show.

MINI and Paul Smith: A creative success
story.
The MINI Paul Smith Edition is a new chapter in
the success story of the two British brands. The long-lasting
relationship began in 1998, when the designer wrapped a Classic Mini
Cooper in his trademark visual design. To mark the 40th anniversary of
the Classic Mini in 1999, the designer lent his characteristic Paul
Smith "Signature Stripe" to a one-off model. After two
further one-offs - the MINI Strip in 2021 and the MINI Recharged by
Paul Smith in 2022 - Paul Smith's design language returns to MINI.

MINI model portfolio.
As part of the BMW Group
stand at the Japan Mobility Show, MINI is presenting the diverse range
of its current product portfolio. The MINI Cooper family is
represented by showcasing the MINI Cooper SE, which combines heritage,
technology and driving pleasure. Whilst providing a fully electric
go-kart feeling via the 218 hp electric powertrain. Also present will
be the MINI Cooper 5-door S, which combines compact dimensions and
agility whilst showcasing increased practicality when compared to its
3-door siblings. A MINI Cooper Convertible will also be on show, which
presents open-air driving in the spirit of its ‘Always Open’
philosophy: agile, spontaneous and full of driving pleasure.Launched
earlier this year, the MINI John Cooper Works Aceman outlines its
sporty all-electric useable performance from the John Cooper Works
sub-brand. The latest model in the MINI family presents itself as a
versatile companion and not only demonstrates MINIs typical
"Clever Use of Space" - but also brings a powerful driving
experience to the road as a performance-enhanced version thanks to 258
hp produced from the 54.2 kWh electric battery. Finally, the MINI
Countryman S ALL 4 will also be present on the BMW Group stand at the
Japan Mobility Show: as the largest of the MINI family, the car offers
generous space and fits in perfectly for those looking for longer
adventures and spontaneous exploring.

Japan Mobility Show.
The Japan Mobility Show is
regarded as one of the most important international platforms for
pioneering mobility concepts. From October 29 to November 9, over 130
exhibitors will be presenting their innovations to visitors and press
at the Tokyo Big Sight exhibition centre - making the Japanese capital
the centre for visions of tomorrow's mobility.
MINI Cooper Convertible for the first time since 2015. The model joins
the MINI Cooper 3-Door and MINI Cooper 5-Door, making MINI Plant
Oxford the home of the MINI Cooper family.

Announced last month, the fourth generation MINI Cooper
Convertible includes a revised exterior design, sustainable interior
materials, and innovative in-car technology.

“We are thrilled about the start of production of the MINI
Convertible, which is now being produced again at the Oxford plant,
the home of MINI. Unique in its class, the MINI Convertible offers
unparalleled, brand-typical driving fun, combined with boundless
freedom and great emotions: The iconic design combined with modern
technology and connectivity makes this vehicle an unmatched open-air
experience for our customers," says Stefan Richmann, Head of MINI.

A celebration of British production, all three UK BMW Group
manufacturing sites contribute to the MINI Cooper Convertible. BMW
Group Plant Swindon produces the body pressings and sub-assemblies
while the latest four-cylinder petrol engines are built at BMW Group
Plant Hams Hall in North Warwickshire. Finally, these parts come
together at MINI Plant Oxford where body shell production, paint and
final assembly take place.

Commenting on the start of production, Markus Grüneisl, Head of
Plants Oxford and Swindon said “We are delighted with the launch of
the new MINI Cooper Convertible at our Plants in Oxford and Swindon.
It’s an amazing achievement for our team to launch three new models at
our Oxford Plant this year, and I am proud of our exceptional
workforce. We’re delighted to welcome the MINI Cooper Convertible back
home to Oxford, the home of MINI”.

Following the relaunch of the MINI brand in 2001, the first MINI
Convertible was unveiled in 2004 and has remained an icon of the MINI
family ever since with more than 100,000 sold in the UK to date.

With 160,000 built at MINI Plant Oxford from 2004 to 2008, the
first-generation MINI Convertible was known for its retro styling and
iconic chrome roll-over arches behind the rear seats. The second
generation, unveiled in 2009 with 165,000 built at MINI Plant Oxford
until 2015, kept the iconic drop-down hinged boot but gained the
evolved styling of the Cooper from that era.

Production of the model was briefly moved to VDL Nedcar for the
third generation, making room for the MINI Clubman at MINI Plant
Oxford. Over 150,000 Convertible models were produced at Nedcar until
production stopped in 2023, before production returned to MINI Plant Oxford.

MINI Plant Oxford celebrated its 110th anniversary in
2023, the same year the Plant produced over 20% of all UK manufactured
cars. As one of the oldest automotive plants in the world, MINI Plant
Oxford has been in continuous production since 1913 and is a leader of
technology and sustainability in automotive production.

The new MINI Cooper Convertible is offered with a choice of two
petrol engines, offering 163hp or 204hp respectively, and is priced
from £27,170 OTR.
the past year, the new MINI Cooper Convertible completes the brands'
new model family. Offered in a choice of two new petrol models, the
MINI Cooper Convertible will begin production at MINI Plant Oxford
later this year, following a nine-year hiatus.

"We are very proud to be able to offer our customers a true
convertible in the current MINI family. Our new MINI Cooper
Convertible offers unmistakable, hallmark driving fun, coupled with
boundless freedom and great emotions: Always Open. Iconic design
combined with modern technology and connectivity make this vehicle an
unrivalled experience for our customers," says Stefan Richmann,
Head of the MINI brand.

With clean surfaces, a fully automatic soft top roof and a
minimalist yet innovative interior, the MINI Cooper Convertible offers
drivers an added dose of spontaneity, with the ability to drop the
roof in seconds.

The new MINI Cooper Convertible will be built at MINI Plant
Oxford, with first deliveries taking place in early 2025. Available in
three trim levels, the new MINI Cooper Convertible is priced from
£27,120 OTR.

Two powerful petrol engines for iconic driving
fun.
The new MINI Cooper Convertible is offered with a
choice of two advanced petrol engines. The MINI Cooper Convertible C
(combined fuel consumption:: 6.6 - 6.5 l/62 miles; CO2 emissions
combined: 150 - 147 g/km according to WLTP; CO2 class: E) has a
power output of 120 kW/163 hp, a maximum torque of 250 Nm (221 lb/ft)
and accelerates from 0 to 62 mph in 8.2 seconds, with a top speed of
137 mph.

The performance-enhanced MINI Cooper Convertible S (fuel
consumption combined: 6.6 - 6.5 l/62 miles; CO2 emissions combined:
150 - 148 g/km according to WLTP; CO2 class: E) has a power
output of 150 kW/204 hp, accelerates from 0 to 62 mph in 6.9 seconds,
has a maximum torque of 300 Nm (221 lb/ft), and a top speed of 150 mph.

The MINI Cooper Convertible offers brilliant driving dynamics
thanks to the model’s suspension and damping system which is tuned for
nimble handling. The vehicle offers drivers precise steering thanks to
the highly preloaded anti-roll bar mounts on the axles, providing a
well-balanced ride for ultimate comfort.

Exterior Design: Compact proportions and short
overhangs.
With its iconic round headlights, newly
designed front grille and circular LED headlights – availably
optionally with three customisable light signatures – the body of the
MINI Cooper Convertible remains unmistakable. Characterised by short
overhangs and a long wheelbase, the body is given a generous
appearance despite its small exterior dimensions of just 3,879 mm in
length, 1,431 mm in height and 1,744 mm in width.

Fully automatic soft top for spontaneous adventure.
The new MINI Cooper Convertible offers a fully automatic soft
top roof, and with its extremely quiet drive, the folding roof can be
fully opened in just 18 seconds while travelling at up to 19 mph. At
the same time, the window bars and side windows are lowered to provide
a completely unobstructed view of the surroundings. The roof can also
be opened to just 40cm, providing a sunroof, while the full roof
closes in just 15 seconds at the touch of a button.

When the soft top is open, the MINI Cooper Convertible has a
luggage compartment volume of 160 litres, while when the soft top is
closed this expands to 215 litres. To assist with loading, the
tailgate opens downwards and the wind deflector behind the driver and
passenger seats reduces wind noise and unwanted air turbulence when driving.

Concealed behind the headrests at the rear of the MINI Cooper
Convertible, the integrated rollover protection system is activated
automatically as soon as the central safety electronics detect a risk
of rollover.

Three individual trims.
The MINI Cooper
Convertible is available in three trims: Classic, Exclusive and Sport,
with each trim offering a choice of interior and exterior options.
Classic trim features a back-trimmed front grille, 16” 4 Square Spoke
Alloy wheels on Cooper C or 17” U-Spoke Dark Grey Alloy wheels on
Cooper S, Melting Silver exterior body colour and Black/Blue Vescin
cloth combination seats and dashboard knit as standard.

Exclusive trim offers a Vibrant Silver front grille and MINI
logos on the front and rear of the vehicle, 17” U Spoke Grey Alloy
wheels, British Racing Green exterior body colour, Nightshade Blue
Vescin seats and a Light Beige/Grey Dash dashboard knit.

Finally, Sport trim offers a performance inspired appearance
with a distinctive front and rear design. A high gloss hexagonal
patterned front grille surround, front and rear apron, and Black brake
callipers with JCW badging are all offered as standard. 18” JCW Lap
Spoke 2-Tone Alloy Wheels and Chili Red exterior body colour complete
the exterior design.

Inside the cabin, Sport trim offers JCW Black Vescin/cord
combination seats, a JCW black/red dashboard knit, partially
perforated steering wheel with red accents and a decorative strap in
black/red knit and finally shift paddles on the steering wheel,
highlighting the performance inspired nature of this trim.

Minimalist yet innovative interior
The interior design of the new MINI Cooper Convertible focuses
on fewer components, clever design, and high-quality workmanship.
Three key elements structure the cockpit: a sporty steering wheel, the
central OLED display, and the newly designed toggle switch bar.

The textile surfaces in the cockpit are based on a newly
developed knitted material which is made from recycled polyester,
while the optional Head-Up Display projects all relevant information
into the drivers’ field of vision, resulting in a cleaner, more
streamlined dashboard.

High-resolution OLED display with touch
function.
The new central 9.5” display in the cockpit
allows both the driver and front passenger to operate all vehicle
functions conveniently by touch or voice. The temperature is shown
permanently for the driver and front passenger at the left and
right-hand edge of the screen and are always integrated at the top
level of the MINI Interaction Unit. The lower area of the OLED display
is dedicated to Navigation, Media, Telephone and Climate so they can
be selected at any time.

In the Home menu, other widgets are displayed in thumbnail view
to the left and right of the current menu function. Swiping up from
the lower edge of the screen reveals a tool belt where favourite
functions can be stored and called up rapidly. All other functions can
be accessed via the menu with the display returning to the default
setting via the home button.

The toggle switch bar in the centre of the cockpit is a classic
MINI feature where five individually designed toggle switches provide
direct access to the vehicles most important driving functions
(parking brake, gear selector, start/stop button, Experience Mode
toggle, volume control). This eliminates the need for an additional
gear selector, providing additional stowage space and wireless
charging for a smartphone.

New MINI Experiences Modes.
Seven MINI Experience Modes can be selected to change the
interior ambience of the MINI Cooper Convertible - even with the top
down. To achieve this, two projector units behind the round instrument
panel beam illuminated graphics with different patterns and colours
onto the dashboard when the top is closed. Changes are made to the
colour scheme of the light patterns and to the ambient lighting in the
entire interior depending on the Experience Mode selected.

In Go Kart Mode, the focus is on MINI’s racing DNA with the
colours dominated by black and red, whereas Personal Mode offers a
personalised interior design with the option to upload a personal
photo via the MINI App. Core, Green, Vivid, Timeless and Balance mode
are also available on the MINI Cooper Convertible.

The new MINI Intelligent Personal Assistant.
A
spoken "Hey MINI!" activates the first fully-fledged voice
assistant of the brand in the MINI Cooper Convertible. Navigation,
telephony, entertainment, and numerous vehicle functions can be
controlled simply and conveniently by speaking the relevant command to
either a stylised MINI or the character “Spike”.

The MINI Intelligent Personal Assistant learns
continuously through dialogue and can take on day-to-day tasks on
repeated routes.

Digital Services.
The innovative MINI Digital
Key Plus function enables customers to use their smartphones as a car
key via the MINI app. The welcome animation of the front and rear
lights begins as soon as the driver is less than three metres away
while the doors are unlocked when the driver is less than one and a
half metres. This convenient feature can be digitally transferred to
different users, including their personal vehicle settings.
industry in 2023, BMW Group UK and its latest models continued to make
waves, scooping up numerous prestigious awards in June and July, with
battery electric models garnering significant attention. BMW and MINI
won six awards at the Auto Express New Car Awards, while BMW further
distinguished itself by earning commendations at the Auto Trader New
Car Awards and Autovista Group Residual Value Awards.

BMW Group UK takes home six awards at the Auto Express New Car
Awards 2023

BMW Group UK proudly took home six awards from the
Auto Express New Car Awards 2023, demonstrating its continued
excellence across a variety of categories and reinforcing the breadth
of its model portfolio. BMW secured five awards across numerous
categories and MINI garnered an additional victory with the MINI Convertible.

The third-generation BMW X1, launched in the summer of 2022, led
its class according to Auto Express by winning the Small Premium SUV
of the Year award. With its distinctive design, increased interior
space, premium ambience, and high-level standard specification.

Introduced in November 2021, the i4— the first fully-electric
BMW Gran Coupé—continues to make an impression nearly two years
post-launch, claiming the Premium Car of the Year award. Another of
the BMW brand’s fully-electric models, the BMW iX, impressed judges
with its luxurious and contemporary interior, earning the Best Large
Company Car of the Year accolade.

The brand’s flagship model, the BMW i7, already boasting four
major awards since its UK launch at the end of 2022, now adds Auto
Express’ Luxury Car of the Year to its roster. Offering a cutting-edge
digital experience with the BMW Theatre Screen and BMW Interaction
Bar, the BMW i7 combines striking style with a luxurious interior to
lead its segment.

The all-new BMW M2, which launched recently in the UK, received
its first accolade in the UK at the Auto Express New Car Awards 2023,
securing the Performance Car of the Year title. Building on its
powerful predecessor, the latest M2 embodies the pure joy of driving
by fusing classic high-performance sports car elements with
cutting-edge technology.

Finally, the MINI Convertible emerged victorious in the
Convertible of the Year category for the sixth time—a testament to the
model's enduring appeal. Available in the UK with a high standard
specification, and also offered as a BEV – a first for its kind.

Speaking at the awards, Steve Fowler, Editor-in-Chief at Auto
Express said: "What a year for BMW - we've been blown away by the
brilliance of its cars this year so it's no surprise that the brand
walks away with five of our trophies. Every winner blends the
efficiency, quality and usable technology that BMW has become known
for, underpinned by the very best driving qualities - on any road, on
any day and for any driver. The i4, i7 and iX prove that the company
is really leading on electrification, while the X1 shows a clear
understanding of the needs and priorities of today's SUV buyers. Then
there's the M2 doing what, arguably, BMW is most famous for - putting
a massive smile on the face of keen drivers.

"It's another win for the MINI - our favourite convertible
car. Even as the current car nears the end of its life - with hugely
exciting electric models waiting in the wings - we love its blend of
driving dynamics, comfort and the all-important style that's so
important with top-down motoring."

BMW iX3 boasts Best Premium Electric Car at the Auto Trader
New Car Awards 2023

At the seventh annual Auto Trader New Car Awards in
June, the BMW iX3 clinched the award for the Best Premium Electric
Car. The awards are decided by over 220,000 UK car owners who
completed an online survey sharing exactly what they think of their
car, with their thoughts and opinions determining the final category winners.

Erin Baker, Auto Trader’s Editorial Director, said: “The iX3 is
all the electric SUV anyone needs, with a plush interior, spirited
performance and that legendary BMW ride and handling. One owner summed
it up perfectly by saying: ‘The driving experience is second to none,
it’s comfortable, fast, smooth and quiet. Love it.’ Huge congrats, BMW.”

BMW i4 shines in the Autovista Group Residual Value Awards

In June, the BMW i4 secured the Compact and Large
Battery-Electric Vehicle (BEV) category at the inaugural Autovista
Group Residual Value Awards. The awards, which assess data from 17
different European markets, recognise the models with superior value
retention. Judges chose i4 as the winner of this category due to its
strong performance across all major markets, with the model's success
attributed to its sleek silhouette, enjoyable driving experience,
strong family identity, internal space on par with the BMW 4 Series
Gran Coupé and impressive range.

The Autovista24 team commended the i4's design, emphasising that
it looks more like a conventional BMW than an exclusively
battery-electric model, broadening its appeal to a wide range of
drivers in both new and used car markets.
2022, MINI is going ahead with a small series of all-electric MINI
Convertible (power consumption combined: 17.2 kWh/62 miles according
to WLTP; combined CO2 emissions: 0 g/km, Energy Consumption – 3.6
miles/kWh), representing another big step in the direction of electric
mobility.

"Three years ago, we launched the MINI Electric, and today
one in five MINI models sold in Europe is an all-electric MINI. This
success has spurred us to implement the small series of the MINI
Electric Convertible within only a few months. I'm delighted that we
can offer 999 MINI customers an extraordinary and exclusive open-air
go-kart feeling," says Stefanie Wurst, Head of the MINI Brand.

The MINI Electric Convertible is offered with a fixed
specification and two exterior paint choices for customers: Enigmatic
Black or White Silver. Door handles, side scuttles and the surrounds
of the front and rear lights are finished in Resolute Bronze, and the
MINI logo and model lettering feature in Piano Black. The E logo -
also found on the MINI Electric - is situated on the front apron and
on the rear. Edition-specific details are found on the side scuttles
and door sill trims, featuring consecutive numbering for each of the
999 units available.

The MINI Electric Convertible also showcases edition-specific
17” Electric Power Spoke 2-tone alloy wheels, made from 100 per cent
secondary aluminium. The combination of green electricity during
production and the use of the secondary raw material, significantly
reduces CO2 emissions compared to conventional manufacturing processes.

For the interior, MINI Yours sports seats in Leather Lounge
design offer seat heating and adjustable thigh support, while the
multifunctional sports steering wheel - finished in Nappa leather – is
also heated and features the MINI Electric logo. Interior surfaces are
finished in Piano Black, while ambient lighting and signature MINI
Electric yellow colour accents, such as the start-stop toggle switch,
complete the interior design.

Premium interior materials are complemented by eDrive services,
providing the driver with current energy consumption, range, and tips
for economical driving, all displayed on the MINI Head-Up Display. On
longer journeys, the Active Cruise Control with Stop & Go
function, and MINI Driving Assistant enhance comfort.

The MINI Electric Convertible is powered by a
compact, yet powerful 135kW/ 184hp electric motor, enabling harmonious
axle load distribution, agility, and controllable handling while
delivering 0-62mph in just 8.2 seconds. Offering a WLTP range of 124
miles, the dimensions, including boot space, remain unchanged and
provides 160 litres.

The MINI Electric Convertible will be produced in a limited run
of 999 units alongside the conventional MINI Convertible in the
Netherlands. With just 150 models destined for the UK, the vehicle
will be available from April 2023 and priced at £52,500 OTR.
World premiere at "MINI takes the States" in the USA.</pp:summary>

Munich/Asheville. Right on time for summer, MINI is
presenting the MINI Electric as a convertible for the first time. The
car is not for series production but serves as a unique example of how
the path to becoming an all-electric premium brand could continue in
the future.

The one-off model will be shown to the public for the first time at
the traditional community event "MINI Takes the States" in
the USA. The winding roads between Burlington in Vermont and
Greenville-Spartanburg in South Carolina will provide the perfect
opportunity to give the attending MINI community a first impression of
the typical MINI go-kart feeling in the MINI Electric Convertible.

The unique car is based on the body of the MINI Cooper S Convertible.
The electrified MINI Convertible also shares the dimensions of 3,863
mm in length with a wheelbase of 2,495 mm, a width of 1,727 mm and a
height of 2,495 mm. The load volume in the luggage compartment also
remains unchanged at 160 l.

The drive technology comes from the BMW Group's electric mobility
competence centres in Dingolfing and Landshut. The MINI Electric
Convertible uses the same drive components as the three-door MINI
Electric. The exceptionally harmonious axle load distribution due to
the small electric motor favours agile and easily controllable handling.

The 135 kW/184 hp electric motor enables acceleration from a 0-62 mph
in 7.7 seconds. With a range of up to 145 miles WLTP, open-air
excursions in urban environments as well as beyond the city limits are
possible. The MINI Electric Convertible combines open-top driving fun
with clever functionality. The fully electric textile roof can be
opened and closed within 18 seconds. At the touch of a button, the
soft top can be activated when driving up to 18 mph and allows three
settings: open, closed or as a sunroof.

MINI will be the first BMW Group brand to go fully electric by the
early 2030s. The successful transformation of the brand to electric
mobility is demonstrated particularly impressively with the MINI
Electric model which launched in 2020. With sales growth of over 132%,
the model was the beating heart of the MINI brand in 2021.

generation moves to the next stage of its evolution, with the MINI
3-Door Hatch, the MINI Electric, the MINI 5-Door Hatch and the MINI
Convertible getting fresh new design and technology updates, bringing
parity across the line-up.

"With the current model revision, the MINI has reached a
level of maturity that makes it more exceptional in the small car
segment with regard to design, product substance and premium
quality, than ever before," says Bernd Körber, Head of the
MINI brand. "The MINI is the original that stands out from
the crowd and it continues to reinvent itself again and again."

New exterior look.
The refreshed exterior of the MINI 3-Door Hatch, MINI Electric,
MINI 5-Door Hatch and MINI Convertible models looks even more modern,
with even more attention now focussed on the car’s central design
features. The front-view is dominated by a larger radiator grille and
its black, hexagonal surround, and the hallmark round MINI headlights.
The position lights have been replaced by vertical air inlets to
optimise aerodynamics and the central bumper strip is now in body
colour, rather than black. The wheel arch has new contours, the side
indicators have been redesigned to feature LED technology and at the
back of the car, the fog light is now integrated into the rear apron
as a narrow LED unit.

"The new MINI design is more modern – it’s fresher,
clearer," says Oliver Heilmer, Head of MINI Design.
"All innovations follow a common mission: Purify MINI! Less
complexity, more individuality".

Three new exterior paint finishes, five new light-alloy wheels.
Adding to an expansive colour pallet, customers can now choose
from three additional exterior body colours. Rooftop Grey is now
available on all models, with customers also now able to choose Island
Blue (previously only available on MINI Countryman) and the MINI
Convertible gets an exclusive colour option with Zesty Yellow.

As part of the Piano Black Exterior option, the door handles,
side scuttles, fuel cap, MINI logo on the bonnet and luggage
compartment lid and model lettering and tailpipes of the exhaust
system are now finished in high-gloss black, in addition to the
surrounds of the headlights, radiator grille and rear lights.

Customers can also choose from five new wheels across all
models, with Tentacle Spoke black design, Scissor Spoke (previously
available on MINI Sidewalk Convertible only) and Pedal Spoke now being
offered in 17-inch wheels. Pulse Spoke design and John Cooper Works
wheels in Circuit Spoke black design are now offered in 18-inch options.

Each roof is unique: The Multitone Roof.
An innovative and unique roof-paint finish is offered on the
MINI 3-Door Hatch, MINI Electric and the MINI 5-Door Hatch. The new
Multitone Roof features a colour gradient from San Marino Blue through
Pearly Acqua to Jet Black, created with a new painting technique. The
three colour shades are applied one after the other in a wet-on-wet
painting process, a paint finish called Spray Tech, which is fully
integrated into the mechanised production process at MINI Plant
Oxford. Slight deviations in the colour pattern occur due to changing
environmental conditions during the painting process, so every MINI
with a Multitone Roof is completely unique.

"The new Multitone Roof for the MINI is not only the most
expressive form of contrast paint to date, it also takes the brand's
hallmark ex-works customisation options to a new level," says
Oliver Heilmer, Head of MINI Design. "And because every roof
looks a little bit different and is so unique, it pays to look more
closely than ever."

Dark headlights, brightly illuminated roads.
The inner housing of the round headlight is now offered in
black, instead of the previous chrome, and a circular light band takes
on the function of the daytime running lights and indicators.

Optional Adaptive LED headlights provide cornering light, matrix
high-beam and bad weather light functions. When turning, a separate
light beam automatically falls on the lane where the driver is heading
and the matrix function provides four segments that can activate and
deactivate independently to avoid dazzling other road users. When
visibility is limited, the bad weather light acts as a dimmed
cornering light to better illuminate the road.

Interior: Clear design, high-quality finish.
The redesigned interior of the MINI 3-Door Hatch, MINI Electric,
MINI 5-Door Hatch and MINI Convertible is sophisticated and modern. An
8.8-inch colour touchscreen display and Piano Black high-gloss surface
are now standard and the audio control unit and function buttons for
hazard warning lights and driver assistance systems are integrated
more harmoniously into the circular control unit.

Chrome elements have been significantly reduced throughout the
interior with the two outer air outlets framed by black panels. The
internal air vents have been completely redesigned and are now
embedded to be flush with the interior surface.

Sports leather steering wheel and digital cockpit.
A newly-designed sports leather steering wheel with
multifunction buttons will be part of the standard equipment of all
model variants of the MINI 3-Door Hatch, MINI Electric, MINI 5-Door
Hatch and MINI Convertible. A new structure for the keypads optimises
operation of the audio and telephone functions, voice control and
driver assistance systems.

The digital display behind the steering wheel, already offered
on the MINI John Cooper Works GP and MINI Electric, is now offered as
part of the Navigation Plus Pack on all new MINI 3-Door Hatch, MINI
5-Door Hatch and MINI Convertible models. The digital display in black
panel design has a 5-inch diameter and shows key driving information,
check-control messages and status displays of the driver assistance
systems. In the MINI Electric, it also serves as a charging status
indicator while connected to the power grid.

Choice of display colours and mood lighting: The new
"Lounge" and "Sport” modes.
There is a choice of two colour schemes for the central
instrument and digital cockpit displays, which can be selected in the
control system menu. In "Lounge" mode, the content is
displayed in a relaxing colour setting ranging between turquoise and
petrol blue. If "Sport" mode is active, the screen
backgrounds are red and anthracite.

In conjunction with the new Ambient Light option, the colour
worlds of the displays can also be combined with the interior light
control. There is a choice of six interior light colours for each of
the two modes "Lounge" and "Sport". They can each
be set using a toggle switch located in the upper area of the
windscreen frame. Corresponding coloured light is then emitted from
the laser-engraved LED ring of the central instrument, from the now
indirectly illuminated undersides of the interior surfaces, along the
contours of the door panels, at the driver's and passenger's door
openers, from the base of the roof as well as in the front area of the
centre console and in the foot wells. Ambient Light also illuminates
the door handles and the entry areas on the driver and passenger sides.
Go-kart feeling redefined: Adaptive suspension optimising the
balance between sportiness and comfort.
A new version of Adaptive Suspension, available for the first
time on MINI, redefines the brand’s hallmark go-kart feeling. It
achieves a noticeably optimised balance between sportiness and ride
comfort through the use of continuous frequency-selective damping. An
additional valve acting on the traction side takes over the task of
smoothing out sudden pressure peaks within the damper. The damper
force is adjusted within 50 to 100 milliseconds and depending on the
driving situation and road conditions, the damping forces can be
reduced by up to 50 percent.

An electric parking brake comes as standard on the MINI Electric
and is also now available in the other model variants, in conjunction
with an automatic transmission, the optional Driving Assistant and at
least 17-inch light-alloy wheels.

Staying on course at all times: Lane departure warning and the
new Active Cruise Control
The optional Driver Assistance Pack ensures maximum comfort and
safety. The new lane departure warnings help the driver stay safely on
their chosen course with the system registering markings at the edge
of the lane and alerting the driver via steering wheel vibration if
there is a risk of deviation. This pack also includes Active Cruise
Control, which now also offers a Stop & Go function in conjunction
with an automatic transmission. It automatically maintains the desired
speed and the distance to vehicles ahead in four stages. The system
uses data registered by the front camera, installed in the upper part
of the windscreen frame, to adjust speed and distance according to the situation.

Classic, Sport and Exclusive get upgraded.
The MINI Classic, Sport & Exclusive trim packages have also
been extended, offering customers a wider choice of exterior body
colours, safety features and upholstery. Sport models now offer
Intelligent Adaptive Suspension as standard, Piano Black Exterior,
Chilli Red body colour, additional John Cooper Works badging and
Dinamica Leather upholstery. Rear Park Distance Control is also
included as standard.

Customers choosing the Exclusive trim, will now benefit from
Enigmatic Black exterior colour, Anthracite Headlining, Rear Park
Distance Control and Driving Modes. The MINI Yours Union Jack Soft-top
roof on the MINI Convertible is standard.

A handful of individual options have been added to the line-up
for the MINI Electric, allowing customers to further personalise their
choice of Level 1, Level 2 or Level 3. For customers selecting Level
2, they can now add Roof Rails, Active Cruise Controller and Sun
Protection Glass, as well as the new Piano Black Exterior. Those
opting for Level 3 also have the option of adding Satellite Grey
Leather upholstery.

Electric Collection
Alongside the Level 1,
Level 2 and Level 3 models offered on the MINI Electric, an exclusive
Electric Collection model is introduced, limited to just 300 customers
in the UK. The Electric Collection is a fixed specification model and
the only way to access new exterior paint choices on a MINI Electric.
Based on the Level 3 model, it can be specified in either Island Blue
or Rooftop Grey and comes with Multitone Roof, black mirror caps,
Piano Black Exterior and 17-inch Electric Collection Spoke wheels,
alongside model-exclusive exterior graphics.

In addition to the high standard specification of Level 3, the
Electric Collection model includes unique door entry strips and
steering wheel badging, Aluminium Interior trim and a zero-cost option
to add a Panoramic Glass Sunroof.

New operating system with modern graphics display.
The operating system of the MINI 3-Door Hatch, MINI Electric,
MINI 5-Door Hatch and MINI Convertible is now more advanced than ever
before thanks to a new graphics display and further developed options
for selecting and controlling the vehicle functions, audio system,
hands-free telephone system, navigation and apps. The screen display
with symbols and text on new colour backgrounds has a modern look and
menu items are now displayed as "live widgets" to be called
up by swiping the touchscreen. Advanced connectivity features, audio
and navigation features are available in optional packs, which have
also been extended.

Navigation Pack offers customers a Navigation system, Apple Car
Play and Real Time Track Information (RTTI) whilst Navigation Plus now
also includes Head-up Display and Wireless Charging and Concierge
Services. Comfort Pack now includes Comfort Access alongside Automatic
Air-Con, Seat Heating, Storage Pack and Front Armrest.

Always connected to your MINI: The new MINI App.
The new MINI App offers an advanced user experience that is
completely oriented towards a digital lifestyle, allowing drivers to
contact their MINI at any time, in order to call up information on the
car's status. Fuel levels or charge status can be seen quickly and you
can send navigation destinations directly from your smartphone to the car.
Engines with MINI TwinPower Turbo Technology and Euro 6d
emission standard.
Powerful and efficient petrol engines with three or four
cylinders constitute the drive portfolio for the MINI 3-Door Hatch,
the MINI 5-Door Hatch and the MINI Convertible. Their MINI TwinPower
Turbo technology is made up of a turbocharging unit integrated into
the exhaust manifold, direct petrol injection and variable valve
timing. The 3-cylinder engines, each with a capacity of 1.5 litres,
are available in two versions, with outputs ranging from 75 kW/102 hp
to 100 kW/136 hp. The 2.0-litre 4-cylinder engine generates a maximum
output of 131 kW/178 hp or 170 kW/231 hp in the two John Cooper Works
models. Thanks to consistently optimised emission control technology,
which includes a petrol engine particulate filter, all model variants
comply with the Euro 6d emission standard.

The combustion engines of the MINI 3-Door Hatch, MINI 5-Door
Hatch and MINI Convertible are combined with a 6-speed manual gearbox
as standard.
rear LED lights across the range and an advanced dual-clutch automatic
gearbox are just some of the features in the new 2018 MINI 3-Door
Hatch, MINI 5-Door Hatch and MINI Convertible, available at MINI
retailers across the UK now.

The changes are focused on driver appeal and core new technologies,
including MINI Connected Concierge services, wireless smartphone
charging and first-in-class options such as new anti-dazzle adaptive
headlights with Matrix high beam.

MINI 3-Door Hatch, MINI 5-Door Hatch and MINI Convertible:
overview of new features.

• New design standard-fit front and rear LED lights for the
UK market.
• First-in-class - new optional adaptive
headlights with Matrix high beam.
• Unique
individualisation with MINI Yours 3D printed parts.
•
6.5-inch colour infotainment screen, USB and Bluetooth connectivity
and multifunction steering wheel fitted as standard.
•
New touchscreen MINI Navigation with Apple CarPlay and wireless
smartphone charging.
• New MINI Connected Services
with Real Time Traffic Information (RTTI), Online Search, Natural
Language Understanding and Concierge Service.
• New
MINI logo, body finishes, Piano Black exterior and alloy wheel
designs.
• Extended range of leather trim, new
interior backlit surfaces and colour lines.
• MINI
logo projection from the exterior mirror on the driver's side.
• New 7-speed Steptronic transmission with double clutch and
electronic shift selector.
• Further developed
engines and increased capacity and torque for MINI One.

Bright and dazzle-free: Font and rear LED lights now standard.
First-in-class adaptive LED headlights with Matrix high beam
optionally available.

The exterior character of the new MINI range has been refreshed with
the introduction of a new front and rear LED light design, enhancing
the on-road presence of the new MINI 3-Door Hatch, MINI 5-Door Hatch
and MINI Convertible.

All versions of MINI Hatch and MINI Convertible sold in the UK get
the same front and rear LED lamps as standard, for the first time in
this segment. The LED lamps have a stronger, brighter beam pattern
than the outgoing halogen headlamps, while the daytime running lamps
and indicators are also LED-based, forming a new ring design around
the headlights themselves. The three-dimensional LED rear lamps
cleverly incorporate horizontal turn signals and vertical brake lamps
within a distinctive new light cluster. The LED lamps benefit from
greater long-distance visibility, without dazzling other road users.

First-in-class new ‘Matrix’ adaptive LED headlamps is offered as an
option on the new MINI Hatch and Convertible range, which
automatically adjusts brightness using a matrix of different light
elements to cater for specific road conditions.

For example, the lamps can offer additional illumination to the side
of the road in both urban and rural areas, while the high beam lights
have greater intensity at motorway speeds, without dazzling oncoming drivers.

The adaptive LEDs also feature an automatic selective dip function
when on high beam, which automatically extinguishes the parts of the
lamp which may dazzle other drivers, while at the same time offering
optimal illumination.

Each lamp is divided into four horizontally arranged segments, which
are activated and deactivated independently of one another at speeds
of over 45mph. The high beam segments effectively ‘read’ the road, and
as soon as the MINI front camera registers an oncoming vehicle or a
vehicle driving ahead, the space that vehicle occupies is only
illuminated at low beam brightness.

This is done by deactivation of the Matrix segments that cover the
space in question, while the remaining areas of the road continue to
be illuminated at high beam brightness.

New MINI logo: reduced to the essentials.

The 2018 MINI range also sees the debut of the all-new MINI logo on
the vehicle. The new badge has a flat two-dimensional design,
reflecting MINI’s new brand identity with its focus on the essentials
– namely key values such as driving fun, distinctive design, premium
quality and emotional appeal.

The new logo appears on the bonnet, tailgate, steering wheel,
instrument display and central locking remote control on all models.

Three new colours, including premiere for Piano Black Exterior.

The range of body finishes available for the new MINI range includes
three brand new colours, namely Emerald Grey metallic, Starlight Blue
metallic and Solaris Orange metallic.

In addition, exterior options now include an additional means of
customising the exterior design – a popular practice among MINI
customers. With the Piano Black Exterior pack, the surrounds of the
headlights, rear lights and radiator grille are finished in high-gloss
black instead of chrome.

The choice of alloy wheels has been expanded, too. 17-inch ‘Roulette’
and ‘Propeller’ designs are now available for all body variants of the
new MINI Hatch and Convertible, along with a new ‘Rail’ two-tone wheel.

New leather trims, interior surfaces and colour lines.

A broad selection of seat surfaces, interior surfaces and colour
lines add a touch of individual style to the interior of the new MINI
range. These include Chester leather trim in Malt Brown and a colour
line now also available in Malt Brown.

A brand new option for 2018, MINI Yours Interior in Piano Black,
provides MINI Hatch and Convertible customers with the option of a
distinctive backlit decorative strip for the passenger side of the
instrument panel. Stylised in a Union Jack motif, the colour of the
background lighting for the decorative strip matches that of the
vehicle’s ambient lighting selected by the driver as part of the MINI
Excitement Package. This option also enhances other area of the cabin,
adding a distinctive high gloss black appearance to the door inners
and centre console.

Maximum individualisation: MINI Yours Customised.

The MINI Yours Customised program raises brand individualisation to a
whole new level. It includes new products whose design can be created
by customers themselves, which are then produced precisely according
to their individual specifications.

The MINI Yours Customised range includes side scuttles, decorative
strips for the interior on the passenger side, LED door sill finishers
and LED door projectors.

MINI Yours Customised products can be selected, designed and ordered
through a specially created online shop launching later in 2018. Here
customers can choose between various colours, patterns, surface
structures and icons, as well as contributing their own texts and
adding a touch of personal style to the design. This creative
interaction between manufacturer and customer enables MINI drivers to
turn their vehicle into a unique expression of their own personality.

The individualised products are manufactured using innovative
production techniques, including 3D printing and laser engraving.

Drive: increased driving fun and reduced weight.

Revisions to engines and powertrain have been made to further enhance
driving fun. Development has been applied across the board, including
the basic engine, MINI TwinPower Turbo Technology, engine electronics,
oil supply, intake air ducting, the cooling system and the exhaust system.

One very clever feature of the new MINI engines is the use of
carbon-fibre reinforced plastic (CFRP) on the engine covers, which not
only contributes to further weight reduction, but also takes
advantage of using recycled material generated during the production
of BMW’s ‘i’ range of electric vehicles.

The 3-cylinder petrol engine in the MINI One has seen an increase in
capacity to 1.5 litres, increasing maximum torque by 10 Nm, taking it
to 190 Nm.

New: 7-speed Steptronic transmission with double clutch with
electronic selector lever.

All new MINIs come with a precise six-speed manual gearbox as
standard, but now 3-Door Hatch, 5-Door Hatch and Convertible models
are now also available with a 7-speed Steptronic transmission with
double clutch as an option.

The transmission is offered on MINI One, MINI Cooper, MINI Cooper S
and MINI Cooper D engine variants, and is characterised by very fast
gearshifts, enabling sporty acceleration and an impressive spread of torque.

The transmission comes with an all-new electronic selector lever,
while on the MINI Cooper S the automatic option includes shift paddles
at the steering wheel for a level of manual intervention.

All Steptronic transmissions allow the car to coast in MID and GREEN
mode and incorporate the latest generation of auto start/stop functions.

Using the satellite navigation data and the car’s inbuilt camera
systems, the stop/start can be intelligently controlled to identify
situations in which it is better not to switch off the engine: for
example when stopping briefly before making a turn or entering a
roundabout, or if the traffic ahead has started moving again.

features including 17-inch light alloy wheels, cloth and leather

The MINI Excitement Package, which is included in the Pepper and
Chili packs for UK customers, now includes MINI logo projection on the
driver's side. When the vehicle door is opened and closed, the new
MINI logo is projected onto the ground in front of the door from a
light source in the exterior mirror and can be seen there for 20
seconds, or permanently if the door is left open.

Infotainment and Navigation: 6.5-inch full colour display as standard

and Apple CarPlay functionality.

wirelessly charge mobile phones which support this capability. This
option also includes a second USB socket in the front section of the
centre console.

MINI Connected: a range of digital services that is unique
within the segment.

phone connection, a personal Concierge Service and a vehicle internet
portal MINI Online, with news, weather and fuel price

MINI Connected enables MINI drivers to integrate their vehicle and
travel plans seamlessly into their day-to-day digital routine.
Meanwhile, the MINI Connected App provides connectivity with digital
touchpoints such as a smartphone or smart watch. For example, MINI
Connected can draw on calendar entries and contact data entered in a
smartphone to plan routes and determine the ideal time to set off
based on real time traffic data.

The Send to Car function enables planned routes to be sent to the
MINI navigation system, while Remote Services allow the driver not
just to display vehicle location, fuel level and other vehicle status
details on their smartphone, but also activate the headlight flasher,
horn, ventilation and door lock/unlock function.

Intelligent networking is standard across the MINI range, via a 4G
SIM card integrated into the vehicle. This enables the use of MINI
Teleservices and the Intelligent Emergency Call with automatic
detection of vehicle location and accident severity.

Mate. This option consist of tags with a Bluetooth tracking function
that can be attached to frequently used objects and travel items such
as bags, cases, key rings and rucksacks. Their position can not only

The changes are focused on driver appeal and core new technologies,
including MINI Connected Concierge services, wireless smartphone
charging and first-in-class options such as new anti-dazzle adaptive
headlights with Matrix high beam.

First-in-class new ‘Matrix’ adaptive LED headlamps will be offered as
an option on the new MINI Hatch and Convertible range, which
automatically adjusts brightness using a matrix of different light
elements to cater for specific road conditions.

The 2018 MINI range will also see the debut of an all-new MINI logo
on the vehicle.

Chili Pack builds on the contents of the Pepper Pack, adding extras
features including 17-inch light alloy wheels, cloth and leather

Chili packs for UK customers, now includes MINI logo projection on the
driver's side. When the vehicle door is opened and closed, the new
MINI logo is projected onto the ground in front of the door from a
light source in the exterior mirror and can be seen there for 20
seconds, or permanently if the door is left open.

Infotainment and Navigation: 6.5-inch full colour display as
standard and debut of new Navigation Plus Pack with wireless charging.

As standard, all vehicles will have a 6.5-inch full colour display
and standard rotary controller. Customers can choose to upgrade this
screen to include optional MINI Navigation with a touchscreen display
and Apple CarPlay functionality.

MINI has simplified the range of additional infotainment packs for UK
customers in 2018, with one new infotainment package now offered. The
new Navigation Plus package contains a raft of innovative optional
equipment, including MINI’s new 8.8-inch touchscreen display, wireless
charging, new MINI Connected Services including Real Time Traffic
Information, new Natural Language Understanding functionality, MINI
Concierge Service, online services and Apple CarPlay.

The new wireless charging feature, available as an option or as part
of the Navigation Plus package, is facilitated via a storage
compartment in the centre armrest which will automatically and
wirelessly charge mobile phones which support this capability. This
option also includes a second USB socket in the front section of the
centre console.

MINI Connected: a range of digital services that is unique
within the segment.

MINI offers class-leading premium digital services, many of which are
unique in the small car segment.

New features in the leading MINI Connected package include Real Time
Traffic Information and automatic navigation map update via mobile
phone connection, a personal Concierge Service and a vehicle internet
portal MINI Online, with news, weather and fuel price
updates. Another option is Apple CarPlay compatibility.

Another new 2018 option for Hatch and Convertible models is MINI Find
Mate. This option consist of tags with a Bluetooth tracking function
that can be attached to frequently used objects and travel items such
as bags, cases, key rings and rucksacks. Their position can not only
be displayed on the car’s on-board computer but also in your MINI
Connected App on a smartphone, preventing personal items getting lost
or left behind.
