Midrand. BMW Group South Africa's Regional
Distribution Centre (RDC) in Midrand, a critical component of the
Group's aftersales network, is constantly evolving through expansion
initiatives, improvements in its logistical capabilities, and key
 investments in infrastructure and systems.

Launched in 2018 together with project developer Attacq, and located
in the Waterfall precinct in Gauteng, the 32,000 square-metre facility
serves as a central hub for storing and managing BMW, BMW Motorrad and
MINI parts. It supplies parts to authorised retailers, supports
aftersales operations and plays a role in maintaining quality
assurance through controlled handling and tracking processes.

In total, the facility supports more than 70 BMW, MINI and BMW
Motorrad retailers nationwide. It handles and distributes – on average
 – more than 3.8 million parts a year. In addition, it executes
multiple metro, regional, cross-border, and line-haul deliveries every
day, ensuring customer satisfaction and peace of mind.

“We’re very proud to shed light on the inner workings of the BMW
Group ecosystem. We're showing firsthand how critical these facilities
and infrastructure are to the success and continued growth of the
local automotive industry,” says Rob Gearing, General Manager:
Customer Support at BMW Group South Africa.

“A centralised, integrated approach to logistics enables us to
deliver on a national scale and adapt and optimise our operations
based on performance and market conditions,” Gearing explains. “It
also embodies our commitment to reliability, accuracy and long-term
service quality, culminating in an enhanced service delivery across
our retail network and a refined customer experience.”

Beyond logistics, the facility also delivers tangible socioeconomic
benefits, supporting skills development and sustained investment in
 South Africa’s automotive supply chain.

“Mobility as a business is very complex. It has, naturally, many
moving parts. It evolves at a rapid pace and thus requires a high
degree of flexibility on the part of automotive brands like BMW Group.
But with the help of infrastructure such as the RDC Midrand facility,
we both propel and sustain that evolution while always delivering the
 ultimate driving experience,” Gearing concludes.

Press Contact: Hailey Philander
Tel: +27-71-666-2070
E-mail: hailey.philander@bmw.co.za

BMW,MINI,Rosslyn
