<p>
<strong>Munich.</strong> The new BMW iX3 is in the spotlight at CES
2026. For the first time, the enhanced, AI-powered BMW Intelligent
Personal Assistant with Alexa+ technology will be presented to the
public. As the debut model for the Neue Klasse, the BMW iX3 showcases
groundbreaking innovations that will shape the entire model range of
the brand in the future. By 2027, the technologies of the Neue Klasse
will be integrated into a total of 40 new models and model updates
  from BMW.</p>
<p>
<strong>BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant expanded with Amazon
Alexa+.<br /></strong>One year after the world premiere of the new BMW
Panoramic iDrive with BMW Operating System X at CES 2025, visitors to
this year’s CES can experience the revolutionary user-interaction
concept firsthand in the BMW iX3. With a balanced combination of
digital functions and physical elements, it elevates intuitive
operation according to BMW’s guiding principle ‘Hands on the Wheel,
Eyes on the Road’ to a new level of driver orientation. Built on the
technological foundation of a software-defined vehicle, the customer
experience in the BMW iX3 continues to evolve. For the first time, BMW
presents the next generation <strong>AI-powered BMW Intelligent
Personal Assistant</strong>. BMW is the first manufacturer to expand
its voice assistant with the AI assistant Amazon Alexa+. This enables
intuitive and intelligent interaction between passengers and the
vehicle in a natural dialogue. The interaction includes the operation
of vehicle functions as well as access to information and knowledge
beyond the vehicle. For the first time, passengers can ask multiple
questions in a single sentence—covering both your vehicle’s features
  and e.g. general knowledge topics.</p>
<p>The integration of Amazon Alexa+ into the BMW Intelligent Personal
Assistant represents a technological leap forward that focuses on
added value for the customer. The AI technology used in the BMW
Intelligent Personal Assistant is a Large Language Model (LLM), a
generative AI that understands language and is capable of formulating
its own responses. Starting in the second half of 2026 at the latest,
this further development will be gradually rolled out in Germany and
the USA across all BMW models equipped with BMW Operating System 9 and
  X. (LINK TO FULL RELEASE)</p>
<p>
<strong>BMW iX3 transforms waiting time into entertainment: stream a
movie, play a video game or make a video call.[1]
<br /></strong>The BMW booth at CES also focuses on the wide range
of entertainment options in BMW Operating System X. It offers an
extensive selection of apps, videos, and games. In addition to the
popular streaming service <strong>Disney+</strong>, customers in the
BMW iX3 have access to the <strong>Video App</strong> (powered by
TiVo™). This app enables video streaming on the central display when
the vehicle is stationary, with a continuously growing selection of
content such as news, live, and on-demand streaming. The portfolio of
the video streaming platform will continue to evolve.</p>
<p>The <strong>BMW ConnectedDrive Store</strong> will also soon include
the <strong>YouTube Music</strong> app for the first time, joining the
<strong>more than 85 apps worldwide in categories such as Music

recordings, remixes, live performances, and hard-to-find covers.
<strong>Zoom </strong>now allows video calls on the iX3’s central
display for the first time when the vehicle is stationary. As soon as
the vehicle starts moving, the video transmission stops, and the
  conversation seamlessly continues via audio.</p>
<p>In-car gaming via AirConsole, as introduced for the first time with
the BMW Operating System 8.5, is also available in the new BMW iX3,
featuring world-renowned titles like UNO®️ Car Party!
<br />A new highlight in AirConsole’s extensive game library is
    <strong>Hot Wheels: Xtreme Overdrive™️ </strong>from Mattel,
available exclusively to BMW customers. AirConsole allows users to use
their own smartphones as controllers, so all passengers can play
together or compete against each other. Additional games and apps for
in-car entertainment can be accessed through the BMW ConnectedDrive
Store. Selected games in the BMW iX3 can also be controlled using
Bluetooth controllers from conventional gaming consoles.</p>
<p>
<strong>Sixth-generation BMW eDrive technology: higher efficiency,
    more range, faster charging.</strong>
<br />The sixth-generation BMW eDrive technology developed for the
Neue Klasse comprises highly efficient electric motors, fundamentally
new high-voltage batteries with cylindrical cells, and 800V
technology. The BMW iX3 50 xDrive is powered by two electric motors,
which together generate output of 345 kW/469 hp and 645 Nm (475 lb-ft)
of torque. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 4.9 seconds
and reaches a top speed of 210 km/h (130 mph). Its electric
all-wheel-drive configuration consists of an extensively upgraded
electrically excited synchronous motor (EESM) with particularly high
levels of efficiency at the rear axle and, at the front axle, a new
asynchronous motor (ASM) distinguished by its compact design and high
cost efficiency. The combination of EESM and ASM is evidence of the
BMW Group’s commitment to technological neutrality within electric
mobility as well. The drive technology developed for the Neue Klasse
reduces energy losses by 40 per cent compared to fifth-generation BMW
eDrive technology, weight by 10 per cent and manufacturing costs by 20
  per cent.</p>
<p>The new high-voltage battery concept with cylindrical cells for the
Neue Klasse also achieves significant advances. The energy density on
a cell level is 20 per cent higher than with fifth-generation BMW
eDrive technology, and the new concept also paves the way for a 30 per
cent increase in charging speed. The cylindrical cells are integrated
directly into the high-voltage battery (“cell to pack”), which
benefits energy density and cost efficiency. Added to which, the
high-voltage battery is integrated into the vehicle architecture as a
structural component to minimise weight (“pack to open body”). The
high-voltage battery in the BMW iX3 50 xDrive has a usable energy
content of 108.7 kWh, enabling a range of up to 805 kilometres (500
  miles) in the WLTP cycle.</p>
<p>
<strong>BMW Charging: short charging times, premiere for bidirectional
  charging.<br /></strong>The advances brought by sixth-generation BMW
eDrive technology have a significant influence on the charging
experience, too. A maximum charging rate of 400 kW enables users to
fill their new BMW iX3 with enough energy at an 800V direct current
(DC) rapid charging station to add up to 372 kilometres (231 miles)
[2] of range in just ten minutes. The high-voltage battery
can charge from 10 to 80 per cent capacity in 21 minutes. Thanks to
the battery management tech with integrated switching matrix developed
completely in-house by the BMW Group, the new BMW iX3 can also be
charged from 400V DC stations. Upgrades to the battery preparation
also help to shorten charging times. The new BMW iX3 50 xDrive can top
up on alternating current (AC) at 11 kW as standard or 22 kW
  [3] as an option.</p>
<p>Extensive bidirectional charging functions [3] are also
available for the new BMW iX3, meaning that it can be used as an
energy supply source for a variety of applications. The
Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) function turns the new BMW iX3 into a mobile
powerbank, which can supply electric devices with power while on the
move. Vehicle-to-Home (V2H) hands it the role of storage unit for
solar energy generated by home-fitted photovoltaic systems. And
customers can also hook their car up to the energy market via the
Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) application and earn some money in the process.</p>
<p>The selection of standard-fitted and optional charging accessories
has been significantly expanded. For flexible charging during a
journey, customers can make use of the new Multifunction Charger,
which comes with several adapters for charging and discharging the
high-voltage battery. The new BMW Wallbox Professional (DC) enables
bidirectional charging at home or work. And BMW Charging offers the
  option of cost-optimised /solar-power-optimised home charging.</p>
<p>In order to give owners the best possible charging experience, the
new BMW iX3 will be fitted as standard with an NACS (North American
Charging Standard) compatible charging port. This will provide iX3
owners access to the vast Supercharger network, while a standard CCS
(Combined Charging System) adapter will preserve access to other
providers from coast to coast, thus ensuring that iX3 owners are never
far from a provider no matter where the journey is taking them.</p>
<p>
<strong>Heart of Joy: The Ultimate Driving Machine reaches a new level.</strong>
<br />One of four superbrains in the electronics architecture of the
Neue Klasse, the Heart of Joy looks after drivetrain and driving
dynamics management. This high-performance control unit is responsible
for the drivetrain, brakes, energy recuperation, and steering
functions, and processes information up to ten times faster than
conventional control units. In this way, the potential of electric
mobility in terms of instantaneous power delivery, smooth power
transfer, agility, stability, and efficiency is fully realized.</p>
<p>Together with the BMW Dynamic Performance Control software stack
developed fully in-house, the Heart of Joy calculates all the driving
dynamics parameters with a new level of speed and precision. The
driver and passengers in the new BMW iX3 experience a uniquely
harmonious and BMW-typical driving sensation whatever the situation.
Every movement of the accelerator, brake pedal, and steering is
executed directly and with assurance and precision. Supreme traction
and – thanks to the unique Soft Stop function – the smoothest stopping
process ever achieved by a BMW are among its other attributes. In
addition, the efficiency of the new BMW iX3 is optimized by the
integrated management of drivetrain, braking system, and energy
recuperation. In everyday driving, 98% of braking maneuvers are
carried out using recuperation only, without application of the
friction brakes. The only occasions these are called upon are under
emergency braking and during extremely sporty driving.</p>
<p>
<strong>“Superbrain of automated driving” for the driver assistance
systems with of the next technology
  generation.<br /></strong>Another high-performance computer brings
together all the automated driving and parking functions in the BMW
iX3. With 20 times greater processing power than in the previous
vehicle generation, the watercooled “superbrain of automated driving”
enables a significant technological advance with the Neue Klasse in
  this area as well.</p>
<p>
  <strong>BMW Symbiotic Drive provides seamless
support.<br /></strong>The BMW iX3 uses its Symbiotic Drive capability
combined with driver assistance to create a completely new driving
experience. Whenever the driver wants to accelerate, brake or steer,
their inputs merge seamlessly and intuitively with AI-enabled
software. The result is a whole new form of Sheer Driving Pleasure. For
example, the automatic cruise control system is not deactivated with
only a light press of the brake pedal; instead, it is only switched
off when the driver brakes harder. In the same way, the lane control
assistance remains active even after light steering inputs by the driver.</p>
<p>With the optional BMW Highway / Motorway Assistant [4],
drivers can take their hands off the steering wheel permanently at
speeds of up to 85 mph / 130 km/h, while remaining attentive and ready
to intervene. The system assists with vehicle guidance within the lane
and can also perform automated lane changes when needed – a simple
glance confirmation by the driver is sufficient. With active BMW Maps
route guidance, the system proactively suggests lane changes at
highway interchanges and exits, which can be confirmed with a quick
glance in the wing mirror. The Highway Assistant remains active while
passing through interchanges and until the end of highway exits. This
allows BMW iX3 drivers to enjoy Level 2 driver assistance without
touching the steering wheel in even more situations.</p>
<p>The new Highway and City Assistant [4] also offers
innovative functions for urban environments, such as stopping and
automatically restarting at traffic lights. Additional driver
assistance features for complex urban driving situations will be
rolled out later via over-the-air software updates.</p>

<p>
<strong>Debrecen.</strong> The BMW Group has entered the final phase
before the first Neue Klasse model rolls off the assembly line. Series
production of the new BMW iX3 will get underway in late October at the
BMW Group plant in Debrecen, Hungary, as the newest, most innovative
manufacturing facility in the company’s global production network
  officially begins work.</p>
<p>“The start of series production for the BMW iX3 signals a new era of
automotive manufacturing. Our new plant in Debrecen has been designed
and built fully in line with our strategic vision of the iFACTORY.
Digital from the very beginning, the plant will offer a new dimension
in efficient production without fossil fuels,” says Milan Nedeljković,
member of the Board of Management of BMW AG responsible for Production.</p>
<p>The BMW iFACTORY represents a strategic vision of production, built
on streamlined, efficient structures, responsible resource management,
economical use of cutting-edge digital innovations and a strong focus
on employees. The BMW Group has also registered new patents for a
large number of innovative systems and processes at Plant Debrecen.</p>
<p>“We have taken on the challenge of building a completely new vehicle
as the first job at an entirely new plant – and doing so in the
leanest, most efficient way possible. We have simplified processes,
reduced complexity, digitally validated each individual operation and
systematically leveraged expertise across our global network. The
result is this plant, with its efficient production, innovative
processes and the flexibility to integrate additional models,” says
Hans-Peter Kemser, head of BMW Group Plant Debrecen.</p>
<p>As with any new model, capacity for the new BMW iX3 will be gradually
ramped up in stages after the start of production. Spearheading the
arrival of the Neue Klasse, the iX3 showcases the latest design and
technology innovations that will define the brand's entire model range
in the future. Between now and 2027, the technologies in the Neue
Klasse will be integrated into 40 new models and model updates.</p>
<p>
  <strong>From virtual factory to reality</strong></p>
<p>The guiding principles of the BMW iFACTORY have been fully
implemented in the technologies employed at the new BMW Group plant in
Debrecen. For example, Plant Debrecen was planned and built digitally
from the outset, and celebrated its virtual start of production back
in March 2023 in the BMW Group’s Virtual Factory. This approach
allowed every operation to be tested virtually in advance, enabling
production lines to be installed in the buildings exactly as in the
  digital twin.</p>
<p>
<strong>Optimal processes for all plant technologies</strong></p>
<p>With an optimised value stream and efficient systems, the
<strong>press shop</strong> guarantees a high level of productivity.
The BMW Group continues to follow its proven strategy of using the
same tools and presses throughout its global network. This optimises
capacity utilisation within the network by allowing press tools to be
deployed at multiple locations and enabling staff to be trained in-network.</p>
<p>The <strong>body shop</strong>, in particular, benefits from prior
digital planning and validation. Every process detail was digitally
simulated in advance to determine the ideal value stream and ensure
that each of the nearly 1,000 robots was optimally positioned. From
the outset, close collaboration between development and production
teams led to high production efficiency and maximum customer benefit.
For example, the number of joining methods was significantly reduced,
lowering overall complexity. Design features integrated early in
development are also evident in the details of the Neue Klasse, such
as the invisible door seal. This creates a visual connection between
the window and the door, resulting in a unique look. In addition,
maximising the space available for the battery in the body structure –
and thus the size and performance of the battery – directly benefits
  the customer.</p>
<p>At BMW Group Plant Debrecen, the <strong>paint shop</strong> plays a
critical role in <strong>significantly reducing the CO2e
footprint of the BMW iX3</strong>. Production of the new BMW iX3
will generate a total of about 80kg CO₂e (scope 1/2 emissions). This
figure covers CO₂e emissions from Plant Debrecen, as well as in-house
parts production at other BMW Group facilities, including components
manufactured in Landshut, for example. This represents a
<strong>reduction of approx. two-thirds compared to production of
existing BMW derivatives. </strong>For Plant Debrecen alone, this
approach will <strong>reduce CO₂e emissions from the manufacture of a
vehicle, including its high-voltage battery, by around 90%</strong>
  – to about 34 kg CO₂e (when operating at full capacity, compared with
  other BMW Group facilities).</p>
<p>Paint shops typically rely on gas to reach the high temperatures (up
to 180 degrees Celsius) required. Plant Debrecen will be the BMW
Group's first car plant supplied exclusively <strong>with electricity
from renewable energy sources during normal operation</strong>, i.e.
without using fossil fuels such as oil or gas. Because of its high
energy demands, the paint shop is the most important factor in
  significantly lowering Plant Debrecen’s CO2e
emissions.<strong> In the paint shop alone, using electricity from
renewable sources reduces annual CO2e emissions by up to
12,000 tonnes. </strong>About a quarter of the plant's annual power
needs will be supplied by the 50‑hectare on-site <strong>photovoltaic
system.</strong> Surplus solar energy, such as that generated on
non‑working days, is stored in a 1,800 m³ <strong>thermal storage
  system</strong> with a capacity of 130 MWh.</p>
<p>The paint shop also uses an energy recovery system. A <strong>heat
grid</strong> was successfully implemented in the design of the new
paint shop, delivering additional energy savings of up to 10%. This
innovative concept combines multiple measures for efficient
<strong>energy recovery</strong> from the compressed air supply,
drying ovens and cooling systems. The recovered waste heat is then
used to preheat the water circuit.</p>
<p>In addition, a <strong>thermal storage system</strong> – holding
1,800 m³ of water, with a capacity of 130 MWh – stores surplus energy
from the photovoltaic system during off-peak periods and supplies it
  as heat during peak demand.</p>
<p>Full digitalisation of production processes further boosts
  <strong>assembly</strong> efficiency. The AIQX (Artificial
Intelligence Quality Next) IT platform developed in-house at the BMW
Group is a key component of the BMW iFACTORY. AIQX uses sensors and
camera systems along the production line to automate quality
processes. AI evaluates the data and provides real-time feedback to
employees on the line. Looking ahead, vehicles on the line will also
become active, connected participants in the industrial IoT (Internet
of Things) ecosystem. They will conduct self-analysis, interact with
plant employees in real time and automatically share and document
relevant messages, using tools such as on-board cameras and IT
systems. The equipment, tools, components and every BMW in the
assembly halls are already digitally connected to the BMW production system.</p>
<p>The building's “finger structure” – an optimised version of the
design employed at BMW Group Plant Leipzig – allows 80% of parts to be
delivered directly to the correct point of assembly on the line.
  All-electric in-house <strong>logistics</strong> also benefit from
autonomous tugger trains, which transport high-voltage batteries
directly from production to installation points, as well as Smart
Transport Robots that autonomously deliver smaller components to the
assembly line. By linking all internal and external databases, the
entire logistics process achieves unprecedented digital depth,
automating many previously manual, interconnected analysis tasks.
Well-structured information is therefore available at any time and can
be analysed instantly “at the push of a button”.</p>
<p>The BMW Group has created highly intelligent production processes for
  its new<strong> high-voltage batteries</strong> developed in-house.
Plant Debrecen will be the first of five plants worldwide to begin
series production of Gen6 high-voltage batteries. The production
processes were initially developed and tested at pilot plants.
Artificial intelligence, data analytics and constant knowledge sharing
within the production network also play a key role in the ramp-up of
production. Digital twins of production and comprehensive AI databases
ensure optimisation of processes and employee training. A consistent
zero-defect approach enables seamless in-line quality inspections and
100% end‑of-line monitoring. In line keeping with the “local for
local” principle, high‑voltage battery assembly takes place directly
on site, allowing the production teams to take advantage of
  infrastructure efficiencies and short distances.</p>
<p>
<strong>Best of the best:<br />Plant Debrecen benefits from expertise
at all production sites worldwide </strong></p>
<p>BMW Group Plant Debrecen is the first production site in the
company's network not tied to a specific primary plant. Instead, it
serves as a network plant, combining best practices from various
locations worldwide. A major advantage of this approach is that the
plant’s current workforce of more than 2,000
<strong>employees</strong> can be trained within the network, allowing
employee know-how from different locations, such as China, South
Africa, Mexico, the US and, of course, Germany, to be shared. At the
same time, employees throughout the global network gain the
opportunity to share their technology insights in Debrecen and bring
expertise in production of the Neue Klasse models back to their own
location – creating a win-win situation for all the plants.</p>

by BMW headquarters in Germany. No adaptions have been made to cater
    to the Irish market.    </strong></p>
<p>
<strong>Munich.</strong> For the launch of the new BMW iX3, BMW and
its lead agency Jung von Matt Hamburg are presenting an international
campaign that marks the start of a new era. The claim “The first of a
new era” serves to position the BMW iX3 as the first model based on
the future-forward Neue Klasse platform. This new chapter in the
history of BMW puts the focus on electric mobility, digitalisation and
sustainability while exploring new facets of the Sheer Driving
Pleasure that has always been a key part of the BMW brand DNA.</p>
<p>
<strong>The Neue Klasse: BMW enters a new era of driving pleasure with
the iX3.<br /></strong>“It was the first Neue Klasse, in the 1960s,
which laid the foundations for the global success of BMW. Today’s Neue
Klasse takes us into a whole new era, which starts with the BMW iX3 as
the first model from this new vehicle generation. It stands for
electric mobility without range anxiety and for a digital experience
that uses intelligent solutions to put our customers at the centre.
Moreover, it stands for sustainable production committed to
responsible action. But most of all, it starts a new chapter for
driving pleasure. The Neue Klasse goes along with a new era in
marketing – an era fully focused on our customers. They can now
experience a highly advanced configurator as well as innovative
services that are more intuitive and personal than ever before. Our
brand film illustrates this sense of a new beginning – while
demonstrating that the Neue Klasse is more than a vehicle: it is a
promise to shape the future of BMW,” explains Bernd Körber, Head of
Product & Brand Management for BMW.</p>
<p>Andreas Ernst, Managing Director at Jung von Matt Hamburg, adds: “The
automotive market is undergoing the most sweeping change in its
history. For a brand like BMW that tends to be ahead of its
competitors, innovation is key. But to set itself apart on the global
stage in the long term, every brand needs a relevant promise that
speaks to emotions – and that is something BMW has more of than any
other car brand. BMW literally invented driving pleasure. Its Neue
Klasse now transports it into a new era.”</p>
<p>
<strong>Optimised content for all international channels and
touchpoints.<br /></strong>The focal point of the campaign is a brand
film, which, following the premiere of the BMW iX3 at the IAA Mobility
2025 (9 to 14 September 2025), will be used in all global markets – on
TV as well as the brand’s digital channels.</p>
<p>The film recalls the unique history of BMW using legendary models
such as the BMW 1800, the BMW M1, the BMW 3 Series, the BMW X5 and the
electrified BMW i8. These vehicles are literally “coming home” to the
BMW Headquarters so they can witness the birth of the new BMW iX3. As
a new milestone, this vehicle provides a bridge between a past steeped
in tradition and an electric, digital and sustainable future. The film
  was produced by Tempomedia.</p>
<p>It is accompanied by ten product short films, one product launch
film, and content optimised for social media. Illustrating the
hallmark BMW driving enjoyment for the digital age, these can be
  deployed globally.</p>
<p>With its new BMW iX3, BMW also puts the focus on key Neue Klasse
innovations, such as the new BMW Panoramic iDrive, the
high-performance control unit known as the “Heart of Joy” and the new,
consciously minimalist design language. The BMW iX3 has an
all-electric range of up to 805 kilometres (BMW iX3 50 xDrive WLTP
  combined (EnVKV): energy consumption 17.9 – 15.1 kWh/100 km;
  CO2 emissions: 0 g/km; CO2 class A; range 678 –
805 km)*, which underlines how BMW combines progress and driving pleasure.</p>
<p>In parallel with the campaign, BMW is introducing additional changes.
The brand design has been refreshed in collaboration with BECC Agency
GmbH, Munich. Teaming up with photographer Alex Rank, BMW and Jung von
Matt have developed a new, confident visual language.</p>

<p>BMW proudly presents the first series-produced Neue Klasse model,
the all-new BMW iX3. The next-generation Sports Activity Vehicle
(SAV) pioneers a new era of sheer driving pleasure, introducing an
all-new design language and a broad spectrum of technological
advancements, which collectively give the impression that an entire
vehicle generation has been skipped.  <br /> <br />The launch of the
new BMW iX3 represents a significant milestone in the BMW Group’s
transformation towards improved electrification, digitalisation and
circularity. Spearheading the arrival of the Neue Klasse, the BMW
iX3 ushers in new innovations in design and technology which will
shape the entire future BMW product portfolio. The technologies of
the Neue Klasse will be incorporated into a total of 40 new models
    and model updates between now and 2027. <br /> <br />
<strong> “The Neue Klasse is our biggest future-focused project and
marks a huge leap forward in terms of technologies, driving
experience and design,”</strong> says Oliver Zipse, Chairman of
the Board of Management of BMW AG. <strong> “Practically everything
about it is new, yet it is also more BMW than ever. Our whole
product range will benefit from the innovations brought by the
Neue Klasse – whichever drive system technology is employed. What
started as a bold vision has now become reality: the BMW iX3 is
the first Neue Klasse model to go into series production. We are
not only bringing the next generation of one of our most
successful fully electric vehicles onto the road, we are launching
a new era for BMW.” </strong>
<br /> <br />Designed specifically for the Neue Klasse, the new BMW
iX3 premieres BMW Group’s sixth-generation eDrive technology, which
comprises highly efficient electric motors, new high-voltage
batteries with cylindrical cells, and 800-volt technology to set new
benchmarks in efficiency and long-distance capability. The result is
    a single-charge range of up to 805km (WLTP 1 ). Meanwhile, a maximum
charging rate of 400 kW enables drivers to add up to 371km of range
to their BMW iX3 in just ten minutes at an 800V direct current (DC)
rapid charging station, representing a 30 per cent increase in
charging speed compared with fifth-generation BMW eDrive technology.
With the sixth generation, energy losses are reduced by 40 per cent,
weight by 10 per cent and manufacturing costs by 20 per
cent. <br /> <br />A new digital nervous system, developed from
scratch for all BMW Group drive system variants and model segments,
makes its debut in the new BMW iX3. At its core are four
“superbrain” high-performance computers, which cover driving
dynamics, automated driving, infotainment, and basic comfort
functions such as vehicle access, climate control and seat
adjustment.  <br /> <br />The “Heart of Joy” superbrain elevates the
entire driving experience, providing unparalleled handling, dynamism
and precision. Responsible for the drive system, brakes, charging,
energy recuperation and steering subfunctions, the Heart of Joy
teams with the BMW Dynamic Performance Control software stack –
developed completely in-house – to compute all driving functions up
to 10 times faster than conventional control units. The Heart of Joy
significantly improves efficiency, enabling 98 per cent of braking
manoeuvres in the BMW iX3 to be performed solely by energy
recuperation. The “superbrain of automated driving” brings together
all automated driving and parking functions, optimises symbiotic
human-vehicle interaction and offers 20 times more processing power
than traditional units.  <br /> <br />Inside the cabin, the
revolutionary BMW Panoramic iDrive, powered by BMW Operating System
X, redefines the digital user experience and sets new standards for
intuitive, driver-focussed interaction – emphasising BMW’s “hands on
the wheel, eyes on the road” principle. The system consists of four
key components: the BMW Panoramic Vision display, which spans the
entire windscreen; the optional BMW 3D Head-Up Display, featuring
integrated navigation and automated driving information with spatial
depth; the driver-oriented newly designed Central Display; and the
new multi-function steering wheel, which serves as the primary
    physical control point. <br /> <br />Alongside these significant
technological advances, the BMW iX3 introduces a completely new
design language, which will be adopted by the entire future BMW
model line-up. This new approach leverages technological
advancements to enable bold design changes, while retaining hallmark
BMW styling features. Reduced to the essentials, the exterior design
has a strong contemporary appearance, defined by precise lines,
expansive glass surfaces and an upright front end where the iconic
BMW kidney grille and twin headlights take centre stage.
<br /> <br />Inside, the cabin puts the driver at the heart of a
clean, minimalist layout built around the new Panoramic iDrive. The
wrap-around cockpit design flows into the door panels, while
passengers benefit from noticeably increased rear legroom compared
with the predecessor. The standard interior features Econeer seat
fabrics made from recycled materials in a light Vivid Grey finish,
with other sustainable surfaces reinforcing the leather-free
approach. <br /> <br />With the launch of the Neue Klasse, the BMW
Group has intensified its efforts to increase circularity and reduce
CO 2 emissions. A holistic approach to minimising the product carbon
footprint (CO 2 e) spans the entire vehicle life cycle, from a
circularity-orientated product development phase and a supply chain
optimised by the systematic use of renewable energy and secondary
materials, through to production, the use phase of the vehicle and
its subsequent recycling. Guided by a ‘secondary first’ principle,
which prioritises recycled over newly extracted raw materials where
possible, around a third of the BMW iX3 is made from secondary
sources, including marine plastics, secondary aluminium and PET
textiles. As a result, the product carbon footprint of the new BMW
iX3 50 xDrive over its life cycle is reduced by more than 30 per
    cent compared with its predecessor. <br /> <br />The new BMW iX3
will be available for purchase in Ireland with three distinct trim
    levels: iX3, iX3 M Sport and iX3 M Sport Pro, each offering a
comprehensive range of standard equipment. Key standard features
include 20-inch alloy wheels, under-bonnet storage, an electrically

<strong> An all-new design language that paves the way for the
entire BMW future model range.  </strong>
<br />With the new BMW iX3, BMW introduces its new design language,
which will soon be adopted across its entire future product
portfolio. This new approach is bold, reduced and rich in character,
and brings a contemporary feel to hallmark BMW styling cues. The new
BMW iX3 showcases the design attributes of the Neue Klasse in the
    form of a SAV. <br />
    <strong> </strong>
    <br />
<strong> “The design of the Neue Klasse provides a very modern
interpretation of what BMW has always stood for,”</strong> says
Adrian van Hooydonk, Head of BMW Group Design. <strong> “With our
new design language, the new BMW iX3 looks future-focused, modern
and timeless – but, above all, more BMW than ever.”</strong>  </p>
  <p> </p>
  <div>
    <p>
<strong> A new exterior design with familiar SAV proportions. </strong>
<br />Measuring 4,782 mm in length, 1,895 mm in width and 1,635 mm
in height, the new BMW iX3 embodies staple BMW SAV proportions.
Its distinctive two-box design combines the rugged presence of a
BMW X model with large surfaces and clear lines, highlighting all
four wheels. The wheelbase measures 2,897 mm, with track widths of
1,628 mm at the front and 1,633 mm at the rear. Optimised
aerodynamics result in a drag coefficient (Cd) of
      0.24. <br /> <br />Designed solely around an all-electric
powertrain, the new BMW iX3 offers an impressive
      exterior-footprint-to-interior-space ratio, with generous space
for passengers and storage. The luggage compartment can be
increased from 520 litres to a maximum of 1,750 litres with the
rear seats folded flat in a 40/20/40 ratio, while an additional
storage compartment under the bonnet holds a further 58 litres of
cargo. Customers needing extra storage capability may specify
their BMW iX3 with an electrically operated tow bar, where the
maximum towing capacity for the 50 xDrive model variant is 2,000
kg.  <br /> <br />With its upright front end, the new BMW iX3 has
a commanding presence. Large air intakes and a black band in the
lower portion of the bumper contribute to its sporty appearance,
while reduced surface treatment helps emphasise prominent design
features. Paying clear homage to the Neue Klasse of the 1960s, the
new sculpted BMW kidneys are vertically arranged. Positioned
either side are new headlights featuring vertical daytime running
lights, complemented by a new distinctive horizontal light
signature spanning the width of the vehicle. The optional BMW
Iconic Glow for the BMW kidneys further enhances the front-end
design. <br /> <br />Clear lines and large surfaces seamlessly
flow into the side profile of the new BMW iX3, appearing as if the
design has been cut from a single mould. In traditional BMW
X-style, wheel arches are finished in body colour with subtle
rectangular contours. Large glass areas with hidden seals bring a
light and open feel to the cabin, while a downward-sloping
roofline contributes to optimised aerodynamics. Newly designed
flush door handles extend automatically when the user approaches
with their BMW Digital Key.  <br /> <br />A heavily tapered and
pronounced shoulder section defines the rear of the vehicle.
Horizontally arranged tail lights in the familiar L-shape design –
also with a new light signature – span the entire mid-section,
where individual light sources are split through several
increments to create a sense of depth. The roofline is finished
with a new roof spoiler, featuring a central recess, which
continues down into the space between the rear lights to host the
updated BMW roundel. <br /> <br />New acoustic and visual welcome
and goodbye animations enhance the exterior design. A reduced
sequence of effects is offered as standard, while the optional BMW
Iconic Glow brings additional sequences in Relaxed, Balanced and
Excited styles. These effects add theatre when approaching the
vehicle, continuing inside the cabin via the BMW Panoramic Vision
and Central Display as the driver takes their seat. <br /> <br />
<strong> The interior design: a contemporary space oriented around
the driver with exceptional comfort for all
      passengers.</strong> <br />The new BMW iX3 has a contemporary and
minimalist interior design, which sets the stage for a
trailblazing and intuitive digital experience. In typical BMW
fashion, the entire cockpit is oriented around the driver, while a
new vehicle architecture – designed solely for all-electric models
      – helps provide generous space in all five seats. The lines of the
“floating” instrument panel flow directly into the large door trim
panels, creating an enveloping wrap-around effect. With its fabric
surface, the instrument panel – with optional atmospheric
backlighting – helps curate a warm and inviting atmosphere
throughout the cockpit. Large windows and a full-length panoramic
sunroof, available optionally with sun protection glass, flood the
interior with natural light. <br /> <br />A newly designed
steering wheel features pronounced thumb rests and multi-function
buttons for intuitive operation. Redesigned seats offer high
levels of comfort and are clad with a reduced amount of plastic
trim for an elegant appearance. The driver and front passenger
seats are heated and electrically adjustable as standard and the
rear seat bench has a single sofa-like surface. Also electrically
operated are new door openers at both the front and rear, with
controls conveniently positioned behind the window buttons on the
pull handles. <br /> <br />The centre console offers further
storage and features an entirely new design. A storage area
beneath the armrest houses a 12V power supply, while the front
section of the centre console is complete with a wireless charging
tray with room for two mobile devices, two USB-C ports and two cup
holders separated by a triangular illuminated trim element. The
space behind it houses the gear selector, a roller switch for
volume control and physical buttons for the parking brake, rear
window heating, windscreen defrosting and hazard warning lights.
Additional storage is offered below the centre console. <br /> <br />
<strong> BMW Panoramic iDrive, BMW Operating System X and infotainment. </strong>
<br />The new BMW iX3 is the first series-production model
equipped with the revolutionary BMW Panoramic iDrive, which sets
out to redefine the user experience. Bringing together displays,
geometry and light and sound design into a holistic experience,
the system’s look and feel is customisable via the My Modes menu.
Adding to the user experience are the new driving sounds, sound
effects and sound signals of the BMW HypersonX soundscape, created
specifically for the Neue Klasse. <br /> <br />With its
well-judged balance of digital functions and physical components,
BMW Panoramic iDrive elevates intuitive driver-focussed operation
in line with BMW’s “hands on the wheel, eyes on the road”
principle. The trailblazing system was born out of decades of
experience and developed following a user-centric design approach,
where data from over 10 million connected vehicles and usability
studies from more than 3,000 customers were all incorporated into
its development process. Physical controls are on hand for the
windscreen wipers, indicators, exterior mirrors, volume control,
gear selector, parking brake, hazard warning lights, and the rear
window heating and defrost function. Meanwhile, other functions
have been optimised for use by touch and voice command, or via the
      multifunction steering wheel.  <br /> <br />The BMW Intelligent
Personal Assistant has been significantly upgraded and now
includes two new voices, a new appearance for the BMW Panoramic
Vision and additional assistance for the driver through proactive
suggestions and personalised routines. Large Language Model
technology will be gradually introduced to enable even more
intuitive voice interaction in the future. <br /> <br />BMW
Panoramic iDrive brings together four central elements into a
unique display and control/operation system. The BMW Panoramic
Vision projects information across the full width of the
windscreen – from A-pillar to A-pillar – where key driving
information appears directly in the driver’s field of vision.
Meanwhile, content projected in the centre and front passenger
side of the display can be customised to personal tastes and
requirements. Located above the BMW Panoramic Vision is the new
BMW 3D Head-Up Display, available optionally, which projects
integrated navigation and automated driving displays on the road
with spatial depth. The free-cut-design Central Display with
matrix backlight technology is positioned ergonomically next to
the steering wheel. On the driver’s side, vertically arranged
widgets enable fast and direct access to frequently used functions
using QuickSelect technology. The new multifunction steering wheel
serves as the primary physical control point. Its button panels
help the driver and vehicle to work together symbiotically using
illuminations, a textured surface and haptic
feedback. <br /> <br />Underpinning BMW Panoramic iDrive is the
newly developed BMW Operating System X, which brings a multitude
of personalisation options via the user’s BMW ID, intelligent
driver assistance, an array of digital functions, extensive
connectivity using the My BMW App and outstanding future-proofing
thanks to remote BMW Software Updates.   <br /> <br />The
standard-fit navigation system, BMW Maps, includes an upgrade for
charging-optimised route guidance, along with an intelligently
coordinated display of information across the BMW Panoramic
Vision, Central Display, and 3D Head-Up Display, when specified.
When a DC charger is set in BMW Maps, the iX3 automatically
pre-conditions the high-voltage battery to the optimal temperature
for faster charging, with manual and My BMW App control also
available. A MAX RANGE function in My Mode Efficient can extend
range by up to 25 per cent by carefully limiting drive power and
top speed and scaling back selected comfort functions.   </p></div>
  <div>
<p>BMW Operating System X additionally features a wide range of
entertainment options for both road trips and charging stops.
These include music streaming apps like Spotify, in-car gaming
through AirConsole, and a new video streaming app that offers
access to Disney+, YouTube, and various international and
country-specific on-demand and live video platforms. The Zoom App
for video calls has also been integrated. <br /> <br />The BMW
ConnectedDrive Store provides an overview of the features
customers can currently download or access, which can be added
easily and flexibly through ConnectedDrive Upgrades. The BMW
ConnectedDrive Store also hosts over 60 third-party apps, covering
music and audio, entertainment, gaming, news, and travel, with
local categories available worldwide. To download and use features
and apps, customers will need access to connectivity via BMW
Digital Premium or a Wi-Fi network/smartphone hotspot. With BMW
Digital Premium, customers can enjoy extensive safety functions,
extended navigation features, unlimited data for entertainment and
      all-new BMW M Apps. <br /> <br />
<strong> Sixth-generation BMW eDrive technology: higher
efficiency, more range, faster charging. </strong>
<br />Developed specifically for the Neue Klasse, sixth-generation
BMW eDrive technology comprises highly efficient electric motors,
new high-voltage batteries with cylindrical cells, and 800V
technology. The BMW iX3 50 xDrive is powered by two electric
motors, which together generate an output of 469 hp and 645 Nm of
torque. The vehicle accelerates from 0 to 100km/h in 4.9 seconds
and reaches an electronically limited top speed of 290km/h. The
new model features an extensively upgraded electric
all-wheel-drive configuration, consisting of a highly efficient,
electrically excited synchronous motor (EESM) at the rear axle and
an asynchronous motor (ASM) with a compact design at the front
axle. Overall, the drive technology developed for the Neue Klasse
reduces energy losses by 40 per cent, weight by 10 per cent and
manufacturing costs by 20 per cent compared to fifth-generation
BMW eDrive technology. <br /> <br />The use of cylindrical cells
as part of the high-voltage battery concept promotes further
advancements. This design results in a 20 per cent increase in
energy density at the cell level and 30 per cent faster charging
speeds compared to fifth-generation BMW eDrive technology. The
integration of cells directly into the high-voltage battery (“cell
to pack”) benefits energy density and cost efficiency, while
weight is minimised through the integration of the high-voltage
battery into vehicle architecture as a structural component (“pack
to open body”). The high-voltage battery in the BMW iX3 50 xDrive
has a usable energy content of 108.7 kWh, enabling a range of up
      to 805km in the WLTP cycle. <br /> <br />
<strong> Reduced charging times and the premiere of bidirectional charging. </strong>
<br />The advances brought by sixth-generation BMW eDrive
technology significantly enhance the overall charging experience.
Thanks to innovative battery management technology with an
integrated switching matrix, developed completely in-house by the
BMW Group, the new BMW iX3 can be charged at 400V DC filling
stations. A maximum charging rate of 400 kW enables users to add
up to 371km 2 of range in just ten minutes, while charging from 10
to 80 per cent takes just 21 minutes. The BMW iX3 50 xDrive can be
charged via alternating current (AC) at a rate of 11 kW as
standard, or 22 kW when the AC Charging Professional package is
      specified.  <br /> <br />The AC Charging Professional Package
additionally features bidirectional charging, marking its debut
for the BMW brand. The range of standard-fit and optional charging
accessories has been significantly expanded. For flexible charging
during journeys, customers can make use of the new optional
Multifunction Charger, which, in conjunction with a range of
adapters, can easily facilitate charging and discharging of the
high-voltage battery – for example, to charge or power personal
devices. The new BMW iX3 is prepared for bidirectional charging,
offering Vehicle-to-Home capability of up to 11 kW with a
compatible wallbox and Vehicle-to-Load of up to 3.7
      kW. <br /> <br />The new BMW iX3 features an intelligent charging
flap, which uses artificial intelligence to detect when a user
intends to connect or remove a charging cable, opening and closing
the flap accordingly. With sixth-generation BMW eDrive technology,
the current charging speed and curve can be viewed in the My BMW
App. Up to ten individual charging contracts from various
suppliers are displayed digitally inside the new BMW iX3, enabling
use of the Plug & Charge Multi Contract function, which allows
customers to simply park, plug-in and go at supported charge points. <br /> <br />
<strong> A pioneering new electronics architecture powered by four “superbrains”. </strong>
<br />The new BMW iX3 debuts a trailblazing new electronics
architecture comprising four high-performance computers known as
“superbrains”. These control units pool their processing power for
driving dynamics, automated driving, infotainment and
comfort-enhancing functions, as well as providing the basis for a
new software architecture that can be continuously upgraded, and
therefore designed to incorporate future functionality updates
      including AI-enabled features. <br /> <br />The new digital
nervous system consists of a wiring harness divided into four
zones. This system reduces weight by 30 per cent compared to the
technology previously used and reduces the wiring required by
around 600 metres. Digital “smart eFuses” are another new
technology introduced with the new BMW iX3, enabling intelligent
power modes for different vehicle states which contribute to
      improvements in the vehicle’s overall efficiency. <br /> <br />The
Heart of Joy: elevating Sheer Driving Pleasure to a new
level. <br />As one of four superbrains in the electronics
architecture of the Neue Klasse, the Heart of Joy looks after the
drivetrain and management of driving dynamics. Together with the
BMW Dynamic Performance Control software stack – developed
completely in house – this high-performance control unit is
responsible for the drivetrain, brakes, energy recuperation and
steering subfunctions, and processes information up to ten times
faster than conventional units.  <br /> <br />With the Heart of
Joy, drivers benefit from instantaneous power delivery and smooth
power transfer, in addition to outstanding agility, stability and
efficiency. Every movement of the accelerator, brake pedal and
steering is executed directly with assurance and precision. Other
benefits include supreme traction and – thanks to the unique Soft
Stop function – the smoothest stopping process ever achieved by a
BMW. Efficiency is optimised by the integrated management of the
drivetrain, braking system and energy recuperation. As a result,
98 per cent of braking manoeuvres in the BMW iX3 can be performed
      without utilising friction brakes. <br /> <br />Next-generation
driver assistance systems and BMW Symbiotic Drive.  <br />All
automated driving and parking functions in the new BMW iX3 are
managed by the “superbrain of automated driving”, providing 20
times more processing power than conventional control
      units. <br /> <br />Redefining human-vehicle interaction, the BMW
iX3 pairs its Symbiotic Drive capabilities with driver assistance
functions to curate an unparalleled driving experience, where
acceleration, braking and steering inputs merge seamlessly and
intuitively with AI-enabled software. For example, the automatic
cruise control function is no longer deactivated with a light
press of the brake pedal; instead, it is only switched off when
the driver brakes harder. Meanwhile, the functionality offered by
the City Assistant includes traffic light detection, causing the
vehicle to stop and then move off again when the lights change.
       <br /> <br />Equipment and personalisation options to enhance
driving pleasure, comfort and versatility. <br />The new BMW iX3
will be available from launch with one solid and five metallic
exterior paint colours, including Polarised Grey and Ocean Wave
Blue – available exclusively for this model – with a further three
finishes coming to the range from spring 2026. 20-inch alloy
wheels are fitted as standard, or customers can select from a
selection of 20-, 21- and 22-inch light-alloy wheels from the
options list. The range also includes BMW M and BMW Individual
light-alloy wheels, with some in an aerodynamically and
      weight-optimised Air Performance specification. <br /> <br />Irish
customers can tailor the design of their new BMW iX3 with the
choice of three well-specified trim variants: iX3, iX3 M Sport and
iX3 M Sport Pro. The entry-level iX3 trim offers heated front
seats, which can be electrically adjusted in six ways; a wireless
charging tray; electric folding mirrors; leather-free Econeer

benefit from ambient lighting, featuring translucent dashboard
lighting; exterior M logo projection; an M interior trim design
      and a Veganza/M PerformTex leather-alternative upholstery.
       <br /> <br />The most comprehensive trim level, iX3 M Sport Pro
adds 10-way electrically adjustable heated front M Sport seats, an
M Black High-Gloss rear diffuser, M Sport brakes equipped with red
callipers, an M-specific steering wheel and black exterior mirror
caps. The front-end design is further enhanced by a Shadowline
Glass 3D kidney grille, complemented by BMW Iconic Glow and
Adaptive LED Headlights for maximum visibility. <br /> <br />In
addition to these trim levels, drivers can opt to specify their
new BMW iX3 with the Technology Plus Package, bringing three-zone
automatic climate control, the BMW 3D Head-Up Display and an
      acoustically-optimised Harman Kardon surround-sound system. A
variety of single options can also be selected, including steering
wheel heating, Adaptive M Suspension, a tow bar, BMW Iconic Glow,
sun protection glass and AC Charging Professional, enabling 22 kW
bidirectional AC charging. From March 2026, a white BMW Individual
steering wheel in combination with Digital White Veganza
upholstery and roof rails offering additional practicality will be
available for specification.  <br /> <br />A holistic approach to
circularity and CO 2 reduction. <br />With the launch of the Neue
Klasse, the BMW Group has further intensified its efforts to
increase circularity and reduce CO 2  emissions. A holistic
approach was taken to minimise the product carbon footprint of the
new BMW iX3, from circularity-focussed product development and a
supply chain optimised by the systematic use of secondary
materials and renewable energy to production, the vehicle’s use
phase and its subsequent recycling.  <br /> <br />A variety of
measures were employed to ensure that the product carbon footprint
of the new BMW iX3 50 xDrive is 34 per cent smaller than its
predecessor over its full life cycle – as measured in
CO2 equivalents over 200,000 kilometres. This means that, when
using energy sourced from the European electricity mix, it will
have a smaller product carbon footprint (based on overall life
cycle) than a comparable combustion-engine model once it has
covered around 21,500 kilometres. If the car is charged
exclusively using electricity from renewable sources, it only
needs to clock up 17,500 kilometres before it reaches the same
      point.  </p></div>
  <div>
<p> <br />Approximately one third of the new BMW iX3 is made from
secondary raw materials. Examples include the thermoplastic
components for the motor compartment; the storage space under the
bonnet and its cover, made from 30 per cent 3 recycled marine
plastic; Econeer seat upholstery, produced using 100 per cent 3
recycled PET textiles; and yarn containing 100 per cent 3 recycled
materials used for the headlining and floor mats. Elsewhere,
aluminium consisting of 80 per cent secondary raw materials forms
the swivel bearings and hub carriers as part of the chassis
construction, while alloy wheels are cast from
      70-per-cent-secondary aluminium.  <br /> <br />Overall, the
product carbon footprint of the supply chain for the BMW iX3 50
xDrive is reduced by 35 per cent. This circular approach is also
applied during the vehicle’s production phase at the newly
developed BMW Group Plant Debrecen in Hungary, the first BMW Group
plant where no fossil fuels are used during normal operation.
Additionally, thanks to all-new sixth-generation BMW eDrive
technology and other BMW EfficientDynamics measures, the new model
is 20 per cent more efficient during its use phase compared to its
      predecessor.  <br /> <br />Series production of the new BMW iX3
commences in autumn 2025 at BMW Group Plant Debrecen, with the
first Irish customer deliveries of the BMW iX3 50 xDrive taking
place on 7 March, 2026. Further variants of the BMW iX3 will
follow, including a new entry-level model. The new BMW iX3 50
xDrive is priced from €73,925 OTR.  </p></div>

i4<br />• Enhanced levels of standard equipment, adding M Sport
Package as standard<br />• Pricing from €73,295 OTR for the BMW iX3 M
Sport, with the first customer deliveries in Ireland from December 2021.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>Now with a more visually striking appearance, the new BMW iX3 has
undergone an exterior design refresh and introduced the M Sport
Package as standard in Ireland, further enhancing the already high specification.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>The BMW kidney grille is now larger than before and has a
single-piece frame which comes in Pearl-effect Chrome with a blue
accent – in familiar BMW i style – along the inner edges, whilst the
inner surfaces of the kidney grille elements have a mesh-like
  structure and feature a BMW i badge.</p>
<p>The headlight contours are now ten millimetres slimmer, helping to
give the new BMW iX3 a sharper look and lending the front end a
distinct similarity to that of the BMW iX and BMW i4.</p>
<p>The lower air intake, which comes with ten-stage active air flap
control to cool the drive system components and brakes, has gained in
size. The air curtains positioned at the outer edges of the front end
are now L-shaped and have blue accents.</p>
<p>Air breathers in the front side panels also have a new M-specific
design, while the blue accent in the side skirts is omitted. Muscular
and aerodynamically optimised surfacing marks out the rear apron of
the new BMW iX3. The outer elements of the rear diffuser are in BMW i
Blue and the contours of the fully LED rear lights are marked out even
more precisely by a black surround. The striking design at night is
defined by the slim light graphic and new three-dimensional
pincer-shaped contouring with delicately integrated, horizontal turn
  signal indicators.</p>
<p>BMW iX3 deploys BMW Group’s fifth-generation eDrive technology
including an innovative charging unit, which sends power to both the
400V battery and the 12V on-board power supply. When charging using
alternating current, it enables both single-phase and three-phase
charging at up to 11 kW. Plugging the vehicle into a direct current
rapid-charging station opens the door to charging outputs of up to 150
kW, meaning the high-voltage battery can be charged from 0 to 80 per
cent of its full capacity in 34 minutes. Drivers can inject the power
required to add 100kms to the car’s driving range (in the WLTP cycle)
  in just 10 minutes.<br />
<br />The gravimetric energy density of the 188 prismatic cells in the
new BMW iX3 is around 20 per cent higher than that of the battery
cells used in previous fully-electric BMW Group vehicles. A gross
energy content of 80 kWh – of which 74 kWh is utilised – and the high
efficiency of the drive systems allow the BMW iX3 to offer a range of
  up to 450kms* (WLTP test cycle).<br />

<p>
<strong>Trailblazing: Digital services and outstanding environmental credentials.</strong></p>
<p>BMW assumed a leading role in driving forward electric mobility when
it unveiled innovative solutions for charging at home or on the move
alongside the introduction of BMW i3 in 2013. This trend continues
with the BMW iX3, which includes a newly developed Flexible Fast
Charger cable which can be hooked up to both standard domestic and
  industrial sockets using optional adapters.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>Recharging at home is further enhanced with a personal Wallbox.
Available through our partner, Smart solutions are also available to
monitor energy usage and cost, as well as keeping a historic record of
home-charging energy expenditure, making it very convenient for
  company car users.</p>
<p>
  <strong> </strong></p>
<p>
  <strong>BMW Maps</strong>
<br />The cloud-based BMW Maps navigation system enables route and
arrival times to be calculated with even greater speed and precision.
Services already familiar from the BMW i3, such as navigation with
range display on the map and detailed information on public charging
stations – covering everything from address, availability and
connector type through to charging rate and Chargepoint Operator – are
now joined by additional functionality that can be accessed from the
car. This capability includes navigation planning with recommendations
for charging stops, information on points of interest near public
charging stations and the ability to filter search results by
  fast-charging points.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>The exceptionally efficient drive system, extensive use of secondary
raw materials in the manufacture of aluminium castings and
thermoplastics, absence of rare earths and across-the-board use of
green electricity in production, including the cells for the
high-voltage battery, are all contributory factors in the impressive
CO2 assessment for the new BMW iX3.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>During the customer-use phase, the iX3 outperforms the diesel-powered
BMW X3 xDrive 20d by more than 30 per cent when drawing on average
European electricity sources or roughly 60 per cent when powered by
  green electricity.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>
<strong>BMW Operating System 7 and BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant.</strong></p>
<p>The BMW iX3 is equipped with the latest generation BMW Operating
System 7, which allows for every line of software code in the car to
be updated over the air in the future. The standard-fit BMW Live
Cockpit Professional offers a fully-digital screen grouping comprising
a high-resolution 12.3 inch instrument cluster behind the steering
wheel and a 12.3-inch Central Control Display. </p>
<p> </p>
<p>The enhanced intuitive multimodal interaction allows the driver to
take their pick of control interface for the situation at hand:
Control Display touchscreen, iDrive Controller, multifunction buttons
on the steering wheel, voice control or BMW gesture control.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>The latest version of the BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant takes
the connection between driver and car to a new level in the new BMW
iX3.  Activated by a spoken prompt (for example “Hey BMW”) or at the
touch of a button, this digital companion acquires new capabilities
all the time. The system helps the driver, learns their preferences
and is familiar with their favoured settings – e.g. for the seat
heating or the places they drive to frequently using the navigation
  system (“Take me home”).</p>
<p>
  <strong>
<br />Smartphone integration with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.</strong></p>
<p>BMW Live Cockpit Professional comes with optimised smartphone
integration; in addition to Apple CarPlay, the new iX3 is also
  compatible with Android Auto.</p>
<p>The latter enables customers to access digital services such as
Google Assistant, Google Maps, music streaming services like Spotify
and Amazon Music, and the WhatsApp messaging service.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>The BMW iX3 M Sport is available to order now from retailers
nationwide, with pricing from €73,295 on the road (OTR). The BMW iX3 M
Sport Pro is offered from €76,985 OTR.  The first customer deliveries
will commence in Ireland from December 2021.</p>
<p> </p>

  <strong>
    <span style="text-decoration: underline;">BMW iX3 in detail</span></strong></p>
<p>
  <strong> </strong></p>
<p>
  <strong>Highly integrated drive system technology.</strong></p>
<p>The highly integrated drive system technology at the heart of the new
BMW iX3 plays a particularly important role in optimising efficiency
and power development. The electric motor, transmission and power
electronics are now arranged together in a single housing. The
electric motor in the new BMW iX3 works according to the principle of
a current-excited synchronous motor, without the use of magnets. This
design eliminates the use of rare earth materials of the motor.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>The power density of the electric motor in the iX3 is 30 per cent
greater than that of existing fully-electric vehicles within the BMW
Group portfolio. The motor is up to 93 per cent efficient, compared
with under 40 per cent for combustion engines.</p>
<p>The new drive system unit generates maximum output of 286 hp and peak
torque of 295 lb-ft which, unlike many other electric motors, is
  sustained at high revs.</p>
<p>The new BMW iX3 sprints from 0-100km/h in 6.8 seconds, putting it in
the same territory as the conventionally powered BMW X3 xDrive30i.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>Top speed is electronically limited to 180 kmph. Sending power to the
rear wheels creates a characteristic BMW driving experience with
outstanding traction ensured thanks to the standard-fit ARB technology
  (actuator contiguous wheel slip limitation).</p>
<p>Cutting-edge battery-cell technology plays a headline role in the
latest development stage of high-voltage batteries. The storage
capacity of the battery has been substantially increased, relative to
the installation space required and its weight.</p>
<p>The gravimetric energy density of the 188 prismatic cells in the new
BMW iX3 is around    20 per cent higher than that of the battery cells
used by the BMW Group in its fully-electric vehicles up to now. A
gross energy content of 80 kWh – of which 74 kWh is utilised – and the
high efficiency of the drive systems allow the new BMW iX3 to offer a
range of up to 450 kilometres (WLTP test cycle).</p>
<p> </p>
<p>Another technical highlight making its debut in iX3 thanks to BMW
Group’s fifth-generation eDrive technology is the innovative new
charging unit, which sends power to both the 400V battery and the 12V
on-board power supply. When charging using alternating current, it
enables both single-phase and three-phase charging at up to 11 kW.
Plugging the vehicle into a direct current rapid-charging station
opens the door to charging outputs of up to 150 kW, meaning the
high-voltage battery can be charged from 0 to 80 per cent of its full
capacity in 34 minutes. Drivers can inject the power required to add
100 kilometres to the car’s driving range (in the WLTP cycle) in just
  10 minutes.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>
<strong>Optimised efficiency enhances capability over long distances.</strong></p>
<p>The outstanding efficiency of its electric motor and its high
charging capacity give the new BMW iX3 exceptional long-distance capability.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>On a trip, a BMW iX3 would need to make fewer charging stops than a
comparable electric vehicle whose efficiency is compromised by the
presence of larger and heavier high-voltage batteries. And the iX3
  stops would be shorter.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>Adaptive recuperation enhances efficiency and driving comfort during
a journey. The intensity of the Brake Energy Regeneration is adapted
to the road situation using data from the navigation system and the
  driver assistance system sensors.</p>
<p>For example, when approaching a junction or a vehicle on the road
ahead, recuperation is fully utilised. On the open road, the coasting
function is activated whenever the driver takes their foot off the accelerator.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>As an alternative to adaptive recuperation, in driving position D the
driver can choose a high, medium or low Brake Energy Regeneration setting.</p>
<p>Engaging driving position B provides the signature one-pedal feeling
of BMW Group’s electric vehicles thanks to particularly strong
recuperation. An enhanced heat pump included as standard on the BMW
iX3 underscores the efficiency-oriented approach taken to the
  vehicle’s development.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>
<strong>Trailblazing: Digital services and outstanding environmental credentials.</strong></p>
<p>BMW assumed a leading role in driving forward electric mobility when
it unveiled innovative solutions for charging at home or on the move
alongside the introduction of BMW i3 in 2013. This trend continues
with the BMW iX3, which includes a newly developed Flexible Fast
Charger cable which can be hooked up to both standard domestic and
industrial sockets using optional adapters. Recharging at home is
further enhanced with a personal Wallbox, available through a BMW retailer.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>
<strong>Proportions and versatility of an SAV, innovative aerodynamic wheels.</strong></p>
<p>The exterior design of the new BMW iX3 displays the typical
proportions of a Sports Activity Vehicle, which means it provides a
visual showcase for the robust premium character and all-round talents
espoused by BMW X models. Model-specific design features optimise the
car’s aerodynamic properties as well as lending visual expression to
its sustainability-focused drive concept. The front apron and BMW
kidney grille have a largely enclosed design, while the rear end has
also been sculpted with a view to reducing air resistance.</p>
<p>
<br />Innovative, aerodynamically designed light-alloy wheels help to
control the flow of air around the vehicle. The aerodynamic wheels
making their debut on the new BMW iX3 reduce its drag coefficient by
around 5 per cent over an equivalent vehicle with conventional
light-alloy wheels. This is achieved with the help of sophisticated
inserts in the V-spoke base wheel whose surfaces keep the air flowing smoothly.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>The resulting improvement in efficiency adds around 10 kilometres to
the range of the new BMW iX3 (WLTP test cycle). This combines with
aerodynamic enhancements to the underbody’s rear diffuser and chassis
strut area, as well as the air flap control system, to give the
all-electric SAV a drag coefficient (Cd) of 0.29.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>
<strong>Premium ambience and BMW IconicSounds Electric in the interior.</strong></p>
<p>Understated blue accents for both the exterior and interior of the new</p>
<p>BMW iX3 allude to the presence of its electric drive system. The
clearly structured controls, high-quality materials and stylish
surfaces combine to create the premium interior ambience associated
with BMW SAV models. The versatility of the iX3 is confirmed by
spaciousness on a par with that of conventionally powered BMW X3
variants. Thanks to the 40:20:40 split/folding rear seat backrest,
boot capacity can be increased from 510 to a maximum of 1,560 litres.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>The debut of BMW IconicSounds Electric in the BMW iX3 provides
acoustic feedback to enrich the electric driving experience by lending
it added emotional depth. Load changes are signalled by a smoothly
modulated sound, and recuperation during overrun and braking is
accompanied by a gently filtered acoustic response, meaning that every</p>
<p>driving state is accompanied by a matching sound pattern. A newly
introduced short sound composition, which is the result of a
collaboration between Hans Zimmer and BMW sound designer Renzo Vitale,
can be heard when the Start/Stop button is pressed. The drive sound is
an original work by BMW’s sound designers and acoustic engineers.
Drive soundtracks from the collaboration with Hans Zimmer will be
available in electrified BMW models at a later date.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>
Cockpit Professional offers a fully-digital screen grouping comprising
a high-resolution 12.3 inch instrument cluster behind the steering
wheel and a 10.25-inch Central Control Display. </p>
<p> </p>
<p>The enhanced intuitive multimodal interaction allows the driver to
take their pick of control interface for the situation at hand:
Control Display touchscreen, iDrive Controller, multifunction buttons
on the steering wheel, voice control or BMW gesture control.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>The latest version of the BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant takes
the connection between driver and car to a new level in the new BMW iX3.</p>
<p>Activated by a spoken prompt (for example “Hey BMW”) or at the touch
of a button, this digital companion acquires new capabilities all the
time. The system helps the driver, learns their preferences and is
familiar with their favoured settings – e.g. for the seat heating or
the places they drive to frequently using the navigation system (“Take
  me home”).</p>
<p> </p>
<p>
<strong>Smartphone integration with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.</strong></p>
<p> </p>
<p> </p>
<p>
  <strong>Ends</strong></p>
<p>
<br />Fuel consumption, CO2 emission figures and power consumption
were measured using the methods required according to Regulation VO
(EC) 2007/715 as amended. The figures are calculated using a vehicle
fitted with basic equipment in Germany, the ranges stated take into
account differences in selected wheel and tyre sizes as well as the
optional equipment. They may change during configuration.</p>

The
BMW iX3 <em>(WLTP combined test cycle: 0.0 l/100 km; electric power
    consumption combined: 19.5 – 18.5 kWh/100 km; CO2 emissions
    combined: 0 g/km)</em> combines emissions-free travel, dynamic
handling and performance with the comfort, functionality and
spaciousness that customers would expect of a BMW Sports Activity
Vehicle (SAV). The iX3 sees the BMW Group pressing ahead with its
electrified model offensive set out in its NUMBER ONE > NEXT
corporate strategy. The technological expertise amassed in the
development of BMW i models is now coming to the fore in a
fully-electric model from the core BMW brand.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>The BMW X3 will be the brand’s first model to be available with a
pure-electric drive system, a plug-in hybrid system or highly
efficient petrol and diesel engines. This embodies the BMW Group
“Power of Choice” strategic approach, with the company supporting the
broad spread of customer requirements and statutory regulations around
  the world.</p>
<p>The new BMW iX3 is the result of many years of development work in
the electric mobility field. The advances achieved since the market
launch of the BMW i3 in 2013 now culminate in the company’s
fifth-generation eDrive technology which comprises of a highly
efficient electric motor, optimised energy density high-voltage
battery and a high charging capacity. Thanks to the BMW Group’s
longstanding investment in electric mobility, the use of
disproportionately large batteries, which have a negative effect on
vehicle weight, driving dynamics and electric power consumption, has
been avoided in the development of this vehicle.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>
  <strong>IE Launch in 2021.</strong></p>
<p>The new BMW iX3 will launch with an exclusive Premier edition for the
IE market in summer next year. Pricing and standard specification
details will be revealed in autumn 2020, with pre-ordering opening at
  the same time.</p>
<p>
  <strong> </strong></p>
<p>The iX3 will be launched in some worldwide markets later this year.
It will be the brand’s first model to be built for export at the
Shenyang plant in China, which is operated by the joint venture BMW
  Brilliance Automotive.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>
  <strong>Fifth-generation BMW eDrive technology.</strong></p>
<p>The premiere of the new iX3 marks the introduction of BMW Group’s
fifth generation eDrive technology. Combining the latest electric
motor, power electronics, charging technology and high-voltage
battery, the fifth-generation system demonstrates clear progress in
its performance characteristics, electric power consumption and range.
These components, developed in-house by BMW Group, will also be fitted
in the BMW iNEXT and BMW i4 models from 2021.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>The new BMW iX3 has been designed for the current requirements of the
electric vehicle market and with future advances in mind. BMW eDrive
technology provides an outstanding basis for economically sustainable
  applications in volume production models.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>The introduction of iX3 is well timed, with the enduring appeal of
SAV models and rising worldwide demand for all-electric premium cars.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>
The motor is up to 93 per cent efficient, compared
with under 40 per cent for combustion engines. The new drive system
unit generates maximum output of 286 hp and peak torque of 295 lb-ft
which, unlike with many other electric motors, is sustained at high
revs. The new BMW iX3 sprints from 0 to 100 kmph in 6.8 seconds,
putting it in the same territory as the conventionally powered BMW X3
xDrive30i. Top speed is electronically limited to 180 kmph. Sending
power to the rear wheels creates a characteristic BMW driving
experience with outstanding traction ensured thanks to the
standard-fit ARB technology (actuator contiguous wheel slip limitation).</p>
<p> </p>
<p>Cutting-edge battery-cell technology plays a headline role in the
latest development stage of high-voltage batteries. The storage
capacity of the battery has been substantially increased, relative to
the installation space required and its weight. The gravimetric energy
density of the 188 prismatic cells in the new BMW iX3 is around    20
per cent higher than that of the battery cells used by the BMW Group
in its fully-electric vehicles up to now. A gross energy content of 80
kWh – of which 74 kWh is utilised – and the high efficiency of the
drive systems allow the new BMW iX3 to offer a range of up to 458
  kilometres (WLTP test cycle).</p>
<p> </p>
<p>
<strong>Optimised efficiency enhances capability over long distances.</strong></p>
<p>The outstanding efficiency of its electric motor and its high
charging capacity give the new BMW iX3 exceptional long-distance
capability. On a trip, a BMW iX3 would need to make fewer charging
stops than a comparable electric vehicle whose efficiency is
compromised by the presence of larger and heavier high-voltage
batteries. And the iX3 stops would be shorter.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>Adaptive recuperation enhances efficiency and driving comfort during
a journey. The intensity of the Brake Energy Regeneration is adapted
to the road situation using data from the navigation system and the
driver assistance system sensors. For example, when approaching a
junction or a vehicle on the road ahead, recuperation is fully
utilised. On the open road, the coasting function is activated
whenever the driver takes their foot off the accelerator. As an
alternative to adaptive recuperation, in driving position D the driver
can choose a high, medium or low Brake Energy Regeneration setting.
Engaging driving position B provides the signature one-pedal feeling
of BMW Group’s electric vehicles thanks to particularly strong recuperation.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>An enhanced heat pump included as standard on the BMW iX3 underscores
the efficiency-oriented approach taken to the vehicle’s development.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>
  <strong> </strong></p>
<p>
  <strong> </strong></p>
<p>
  <strong>Sporty handling and supreme traction.</strong></p>
<p>The latest-generation high-voltage battery has a particularly slim
construction. Positioned low down in the underbody, it has been
integrated into the SAV’s flexible vehicle architecture. This lowers
the car’s centre of gravity by around 7.5 centimetres compared with
its conventionally powered BMW X3 siblings, noticeably enhancing
lateral dynamics. Among the bespoke elements of the iX3’s chassis
construction is a rear axle subframe, which provides the required
space for the drive system unit. The standard adaptive suspension
includes electronically controlled dampers, with characteristics that
adapt to the road surface at any given time. This enables carefully
judged optimisation of the car’s ride comfort and dynamics. The
alternative Adaptive M suspension is tuned to deliver an even sportier
  damper response.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>The instant power development of the electric motor and
chassis-specific tuning infuse the new BMW iX3 with sporty, agile
driving attributes. The innovative ARB traction system, introduced in
the BMW i3, and a high level of directional stability ensure good
traction in adverse weather conditions and on loose ground for a
  Sports Activity Vehicle with a single-driven axle.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>
<strong>Trailblazing: Digital services and outstanding environmental credentials.</strong></p>
<p>BMW assumed a leading role in driving forward electric mobility when
it unveiled innovative solutions for charging at home or on the move
alongside the introduction of BMW i3 in 2013. This trend continues
with the BMW iX3, which includes a newly developed Flexible Fast
Charger cable which can be hooked up to both standard domestic and
  industrial sockets using optional adapters.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>Recharging at home is further enhanced with a personal Wallbox.
Available through our partner, Smart solutions are also possible to
monitor energy usage and cost, as well as keeping a historic record of
home-charging energy expenditure, making it very convenient for
  company car users.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>The new cloud-based BMW Maps navigation system enables route and
arrival times to be calculated with even greater speed and precision.</p>
<p>Services already familiar from the BMW i3, such as navigation with
range display on the map and detailed information on public charging
stations – covering everything from address, availability and
connector type through to charging rate and Chargepoint Operator – are
now joined by additional functionality that can be accessed from the
CO2 assessment for the new BMW iX3. During the customer use phase, the
  iX3 outperforms the diesel-powered BMW X3 xDrive 20d by more than 30
per cent when drawing on average European electricity sources or
roughly 60 per cent when powered by green electricity.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>
Model-specific design features optimise the
car’s aerodynamic properties at the same time as lending visual
expression to its sustainability-focused drive concept. The front
apron and BMW kidney grille have a largely enclosed design, while the
rear end has also been sculpted with a view to reducing air resistance.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>Innovative, aerodynamically designed light-alloy wheels help to
control the flow of air around the vehicle. The aerodynamic wheels
making their debut on the new BMW iX3 reduce its drag coefficient by
around 5 per cent over an equivalent vehicle with conventional
light-alloy wheels. This is achieved with the help of sophisticated
inserts in the V-spoke base wheel whose surfaces keep the air flowing
smoothly. The resulting improvement in efficiency adds around 10
kilometres to the range of the new BMW iX3 (WLTP test cycle).</p>
<p>This combines with aerodynamic enhancements to the underbody’s rear
diffuser and chassis strut area, as well as with the air flap control
system, to give the all-electric SAV a drag coefficient (Cd) of 0.29.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>
The versatility of the iX3 is confirmed by
spaciousness on a par with that of conventionally powered BMW X3
  variants. Thanks to the 40 : 20 : 40 split/folding rear seat backrest,
boot capacity can be increased from 510 to a maximum of 1,560 litres.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>
<strong>BMW Operating System 7 and BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant.</strong></p>
<p>The BMW iX3 is equipped with the latest generation BMW Operating
System 7, which allows for every line of software code in the car to
be updated over the air in the future.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>The standard-fit BMW Live Cockpit Professional offers a fully-digital
screen grouping comprising a high-resolution 12.3 inch instrument
cluster behind the steering wheel and a 10.25-inch Central Control Display. </p>
<p> </p>
<p>
<strong>Smartphone integration with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.</strong></p>
<p>BMW Live Cockpit Professional comes with optimised smartphone
integration; in addition to Apple CarPlay, the new iX3 is also
compatible with Android Auto. The latter enables customers to access
digital services such as Google Assistant, Google Maps, music
streaming services like Spotify and Amazon Music, and the WhatsApp
  messaging service.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>
<strong>Full IE specification and pricing will be announced in autumn
    2020. </strong></p>

by BMW headquarters in Germany. No adaptations have been made to
    cater for the IE market.</strong></p>
<p>
<strong>Munich/Shenyang.</strong> The BMW Group is systematically
pursuing its electrification strategy and will release the new BMW iX3
onto the market by the end of 2020. Standard production of the BMW
core brand’s first pure electric model will get underway at the BMW
Brilliance Automotive joint venture (BBA) in China in late summer as
planned: BBA Plant Dadong will produce the first Sports Activity
Vehicle (SAV) with a pure electric drive train for the global market.
The first of these electric vehicles will be delivered to customers by
  the end of the year.</p>
<p>The testing required for homologation of the new BMW iX3 has now been
successfully completed and the results submitted to the regulatory
authorities in key automotive markets. “This is the first time we have
completed the entire homologation process for a fully electric model
in China and Europe at the same time. The staff on our testing team
mastered this unique challenge with tremendous dedication and
efficiency,” said Arno Keller, head of Development BMW iX3. More than
340 hours of testing, including over 7700 kilometres of test drives,
had to be completed within four weeks. </p>
<p>Preparations for production of the BMW iX3 were stepped up in
Shenyang in parallel. BBA has been building BMW iX3 pre-production
vehicles at Plant Dadong in Shenyang since the middle of last year.
The 200th pre-production model recently came off the assembly line and
test drives on Chinese roads began – allowing development and test
  engineers to make final adjustments.</p>
<p>“We are right on schedule with our BMW iX3 pre-production vehicles
and will launch standard production in late summer, using
state-of-the-art technologies such as custom installation of the new
high-voltage battery and artificial intelligence for monitoring
parts,” explained Robert Küssel, BBA Plant Director Dadong. “We are
also producing the fully-electric BMW iX3 and the BMW X3 with
combustion engine on the same production line. This enables us to
achieve high efficiency and flexibility in production,” Küssel continued.</p>
<p>With the new BMW iX3, the BMW Group is adding another fully-electric
vehicle to its portfolio that will not only tap into new customer
groups, but also arrives on the market at a time when demand for
electric vehicles is expanding significantly. The electric car is
based on the globally successful BMW X3 and combines the versatility
and robust functionality of a premium mid-size Sports Activity Vehicle
with ground-breaking drive technology for locally emission-free
driving pleasure. The BMW X3 is the brand’s first model available with
both conventional petrol and diesel engines, a plug-in hybrid system
or a pure electric drive train. This “Power of Choice” approach allows
the company to respond to the different needs and wants of its
customers worldwide and maximise its impact in reducing global CO2 emissions.</p>
<p>The BMW iX3 already comes with fifth-generation BMW eDrive
technology, including a drive unit with the electric engine, power
electronics and transmission highly integrated into a central housing.
This significantly reduces the installation space and mass of the
drive technology relative to output and offers added flexibility for
installing new electric powertrain components in different vehicle
derivatives. A further highlight is the electric motor, which no
longer requires the use of rare earths and ensures the BMW Group is
  not depend on their availability.</p>
<p>The fifth-generation electric drive train also includes new and more
powerful high-voltage batteries. Thanks to their scalable, modular
design, these can be used flexibly in the respective vehicle
architecture and at the respective production locations.</p>
<p>With a range of around 440 kilometres in the WLTP test cycle
(preliminary data), the BMW iX3 paves the way for BMW eDrive
technology, which will also be used in BMW i4 and BMW iNEXT models
  from 2021 on.</p>
