Team BMW Motorsport?s Spa Challenge is Back on Track Spa-Fracorchamps.
The number 143 BMW M3 GTR has consolidated its position at the top of
the leaderboard for the Spa 24 Hour race as Pedro Lamy, Andry Priaulx,
Antonio Garcia and Kurt Mollekens are running third overall after nine
hours of racing. These drivers are leading the Group 2 class, while
second in the class is car number 142. This car, driven by Dirk
Müller, Jörg Müller and Hans-Joachim Stuck, has fought
its way back afte technical problems at the beginning of the race and
made steady progress over the past six hours with the German drivers
moving up from 28th to 9th. Hans-Joachim Stuck "The first part
of the race was very exhausting due to the high temperatures, and the
tyres picked up a lot of dirt during the safety car period and lost
performance because of this. However, by the second and third stints
they were running perfectly. It seems as if the team has finally found
its rhythm after the happenings at the beginning of the race."
