Spartanburg, South Carolina. The BMW Group
announced today the completion of a $1.7 billion investment in its
South Carolina operations. The company celebrated the milestone at
the "Home of X" event at BMW Group Plant Spartanburg,
reaffirming its longstanding commitment in the United States
through continued investment and innovation leadership. With this
milestone, BMW Group has completed the expansion of Plant
Spartanburg and the construction of Plant Woodruff, establishing
the foundation for the assembly of fully electric BMW vehicles in
South Carolina. The United States remains one of BMW Group’s most
important markets and business ecosystems worldwide.

The event also marked the world premiere of the new,
fifth-generation BMW X5. BMW confirmed that the BMW iX5 will be
the first fully electric BMW assembled in the United States,
starting in late 2026.

"When we announced our investment plans for South Carolina
in 2022, we made a clear commitment to the future of the BMW Group
in the United States," said Milan Nedeljković, Chairman of
the Board of Management, BMW AG. "Today, we are delivering on
that commitment. The completion of our investments in Plant
Spartanburg and Plant Woodruff demonstrates our confidence in the
United States and reinforces South Carolina’s role at the center
of BMW Group’s global operations."

Together, Plant Spartanburg and Plant Woodruff form a highly
integrated network supporting the future of BMW X model assembly
and electrification in the United States.

Home of X.

Home of X recognizes the significant role the United States plays
in BMW Group’s global operations. South Carolina is the home of
BMW Group’s largest plant worldwide. For more than 50 years, BMW
has maintained a strong commitment in the United States, growing
its presence to nearly 30 locations across 12 states. Today, BMW
Group’s business activities in the U.S. support more than 120,000
jobs nationwide and contribute more than $43.3 billion annually to
the U.S. economy.

Established more than three decades ago, BMW Group Plant
Spartanburg is the global center of competence for BMW X models.
Since 1994, more than 7.3 million BMW vehicles have been assembled
in South Carolina for customers in the United States and around
the world. In 2025, 412,799 BMW X models were assembled at Plant
Spartanburg – this marked the seventh time the plant has exceeded
400,000 units.

Approximately half of the plant's current production is exported
to nearly 120 countries, helping to make BMW the leading
automotive exporter in the United States by value. To date, nearly
3 million BMWs have been exported from the United States, valued
at over $113 billion.

The completion of BMW Group’s $1.7 billion investment in South
Carolina represents the latest chapter in the company’s
longstanding commitment in the United States. Together, Plant
Spartanburg and Plant Woodruff will enable the assembly of the
next generation of BMW X vehicles, including fully electric
models, while strengthening BMW Group’s ability to serve customers
around the world.

With two plants, over 400 suppliers, and many longstanding
strategic partners across the country, the United States remains
central to BMW Group’s global strategy. This foundation supports
future growth, innovation, electrification, and customer choice
for decades to come.

New BMW X5 Available in Five Drivetrains.

A centerpiece of the Home of X celebration was the world premiere
of the new BMW X5. The X5 established the premium Sports Utility
Vehicle segment and became one of the most successful products in
BMW history. Since 1999, over 3 million BMW X5 models have been
sold around the world, a third of which were sold in the U.S.

Assembled at Plant Spartanburg for over 25 years, the new BMW X5
becomes the first vehicle offered with five drivetrain
technologies. The options span internal combustion, battery
electric, plug-in hybrid electric, diesel and, soon, fuel cell
electric powered by hydrogen. This breadth reflects BMW Group's
technology-open approach and commitment to customer choice.

"Our strategic course remains unchanged. We will continue to
pursue the same technology-open strategy that has made BMW
successful and will continue to make us successful in the
future," continued Nedeljković.

Plant Spartanburg will be the first plant in the BMW Group’s
global production network capable of assembling a single vehicle
with five different drivetrain technologies on one assembly line,
demonstrating the technology-open strategy at the highest level.

By offering a broad range of drivetrain technologies, BMW enables
customers to select the vehicle that best suits their needs,
driving habits, and preferences. This flexibility reflects BMW
Group’s conviction that multiple technologies will play an
important role in the transition to sustainable mobility.

"The new BMW X5 demonstrates our belief that innovation and
customer choice go hand in hand," said Sebastian Mackensen,
President & CEO, BMW of North America. "Our customers
both in the U.S. and around the world will love the new BMW X5 –
and our technology-open approach puts them in the driver’s seat to
enjoy the performance and premium experience that define BMW,
regardless of which drivetrain they choose."

BMW Group also confirmed that the BMW iX5 will be the first fully
electric BMW vehicle assembled in the United States. Assembly is
scheduled to begin at Plant Spartanburg before the end of 2026.

The announcement represents another important milestone in BMW
Group’s electrification strategy. It fulfills a key commitment
made as part of the company’s 2022 investment announcement. By
2030, BMW Group will assemble at least six fully electric BMW
models in the United States, supported by locally assembled
high-voltage batteries from Plant Woodruff.

"The future of BMW X models will continue to be shaped in
South Carolina," said Dr. Robert Engelhorn, President &
CEO, BMW Manufacturing Co. "From highly efficient combustion
engines and plug-in hybrid systems to battery-electric and future
hydrogen-powered vehicles, Plant Spartanburg will be able to
assemble a broad range of drivetrain technologies for customers in
the U.S. and around the world. This flexibility of Plant
Spartanburg and our global production network strengthens our
resilience, supports customer choice, and enables us to meet
customer demand at any level."

Digitalization and AI in Production: Key Principles of BMW
iFACTORY are implemented in Plants Spartanburg and Woodruff.

The BMW iFACTORY concept defines the BMW Group’s strategic vision
for the future of its global production network, driven by
efficiency, sustainability, and digitalization. At both Plant
Spartanburg and Plant Woodruff, the guiding principles of the BMW
iFACTORY are already a reality.

Smart automation, end-to-end data integration, and virtual
planning form a highly connected production system — with a highly
skilled workforce at its core. Digital twins allow processes in
both plants to be optimized long before the first component
reaches the assembly line. 3D virtual simulations enable seamless
implementation, reduce complexity, and enhance workflows and
ergonomics for associates.

Artificial intelligence is deeply anchored in the assembly of
both plants. AI-supported applications, including self-correcting
robotics and vision-based quality controls, help ensure
consistently high standards in a dynamic manufacturing
environment. At both plants, AIQX (Artificial Intelligence Quality
Next), an in-house IT platform at the BMW Group, is being applied.
AIQX uses sensors and camera systems along the production line to
automate quality processes. AI evaluates the data and provides
real-time feedback to employees on the line.

At the same time, Plant Spartanburg is advancing the next stage
of innovation through physical AI. By utilizing humanoid robots
from Figure AI, Plant Spartanburg has become a pioneer of BMW’s
Physical AI Initiative. These applications support associates in
physically demanding and repetitive tasks, enabling greater focus
on precision, craftsmanship, and quality that define every BMW vehicle.

At Plant Woodruff, the BMW Group is deploying intelligent,
next-generation manufacturing powered by cutting-edge technologies
— first proven in virtual environments. Guided by the BMW iFACTORY
principles, the new plant also reduces complexity and sets new
standards in high-voltage battery assembly. Following the
“Cell-to-Pack” principle, the cells are assembled directly into
the housing without the former processes of cell coating and cell
module production.

All in all, innovative technologies at both plants support and
protect people. In doing so, digitalization enhances production
performance, resilience, and the flexibility and adaptability
needed to meet the mobility demands of today and tomorrow.

The
fifth generation of the BMW X5 impresses with technical innovations, a
stunning new design and the integration of future-oriented
technologies from the Neue Klasse. This underlines its exceptional
status and reinforces its leading position in a segment that it
originally established.

First model from the brand with
five different drive system types.
As the first Sports Activity Vehicle (SAV) from the brand and
founding father of the eminently successful BMW X family, the
trendsetting BMW X5 has been shaping the future in innovative style
since its introduction in 1999. Embodying that very same aspiration,
the new BMW X5 is the first model from the brand to come to market
with a choice of five different drive system types.

In addition to variants with petrol or diesel combustion engines,
including 48V mild hybrid technology, and plug-in hybrid models, the
fifth generation of the successful model does not just encompass the
first all-electric BMW iX5. The BMW iX5 Hydrogen is also set to
celebrate its market launch – at a later stage – as the first
hydrogen-powered BMW production vehicle. The powertrain encompasses
the fuel cell system, in-car hydrogen storage with the new BMW
Hydrogen Flat Storage technology and an innovative high-voltage
battery. The third generation of the fuel cell system enables
a particularly compact design within a high-performance, efficient
drive system with a range of up to 750 kilometres (466 miles)[1].

The new BMW iX5 – the first battery-electric BMW X5 – is launching
with the sixth generation of BMW’s eDrive technology. This means
longer ranges of up to 845 kilometres (525 miles) in the
BMW iX5 60 xDrive, fast charging, 800V technology and practical
bidirectional charging. This is thanks to new cylindrical cells with a
height of 120 millimetres, installed in the high-voltage battery and
in use for the first time in the new BMW iX5.

“With its imposing presence and flawless symbiosis of comfort and
driving pleasure, the BMW X5 became a global bestseller,” says
Dr. Joachim Post, Member of the Board of Management of BMW AG
responsible for Development. “And now the latest generation also
benefits from the technologies in the Neue Klasse and the widest
possible range of drive systems. As a result, I’m sure the new BMW X5
will set the benchmark in its class once again and write the next
chapter in its success story.”

New design: unmistakeable presence from every perspective
.
The new BMW X5 also takes a major leap forward in terms of
design. Viewed from any perspective, the clear, monolithic and
powerful appearance of the car embodies the confident presence that
underlines its leading position in the segment, becoming one of the
key faces of the brand. This is in large part down to the effortless
melding of classic SAV proportions with the forward-looking BMW design
language of the Neue Klasse to produce a harmonious, distinct end result.

The next generation of the distinctive X exterior is characterised by
the upright design of the front end, the vertically aligned BMW kidney
Iconic Glow and the new “double-X” light icons, making their first
appearance in a BMW. The clearly structured side view of the BMW X5 is
particularly impressive, thanks in large part to the innovative door
handles, the BMW Winglets. These combine progressive design with
functional convenience: recessed handles requires the lightest of
touches to open the electrically powered doors.

Naturally, all models offer broad scope for tailoring the design,
including eleven exterior paint colours and a precisely curated wheel
range that now boasts 23-inch rims. The new BMW X5 M60e xDrive creates
visual highlights emphasising its role as the sporting flagship, while
the M Sport package and the M Sport package Pro provide a range of
distinctive features.

Spacious, natural and innovative: redesigned interior combines
feel good atmosphere with digital user experience.
One glance at the redesigned interior immediately reveals the
extremely high quality of the new BMW X5. The interior impresses with
clear structures and uncluttered surfaces, producing a harmonious
sense of space and calmly providing subtle support for classic BMW
driver orientation.

The outstanding visual and haptic quality of the interior is also
underlined by the new decorative surfaces constructed from materials
such as slate and glass that generate an atmosphere of elemental
sophistication. BMW is the first carmaker worldwide to offer slate as
an optional decorative surface.

The BMW X5 incorporates core technologies from the Neue Klasse in the
form of the new BMW Panoramic iDrive display and operating system,
underpinned by BMW Operating System X. These include the Central
Display in free-cut design, the BMW 3D Head-Up Display, the
BMW Passenger Screen available as an optional extra in the BMW X5 for
the first time, the BMW Panoramic Vision with a projection surface
extending across the full width of the windscreen and the new
multifunction steering wheel. This results in an all-encompassing
digital user experience centred around both the driver and their passengers.

The BMW X5 combines fascinating new technologies with a genuinely
feel-good interior atmosphere. This is expressed in the lighting
animations provided by the ambient light strip, a central element that
creates an inviting wrap-around effect from door to door to generate a
harmonious atmosphere.

BMW X5 combines a high level of comfort with BMW typical
driving dynamics and intelligent driver assistance systems.
As the sportiest SUV in its segment, the BMW X5 has long set
standards in terms of driving dynamics – and the latest generation
of the BMW X5 is equally impressive in its this respect. This is due
in no small part to the adaptive suspension fitted as standard and
axle load distribution close to 50:50. Optional extras include
Adaptive Chassis Control, as well as the Adaptive Chassis Control
Professional with roll stabilisation initially available for every
all‑electric and plug‑in hybrid model. This system leads the way
when it comes to blending BMW’s characteristic driving dynamics with
maximum ride comfort.

BMW Symbiotic Drive provides intelligent support tailored to
individual driving behaviour. The advanced Level 2 driver assistance
systems and active safety functions are designed down to the smallest
detail for seamless interaction between assistance and human driving.
In the BMW iX5 models, and in the upcoming BMW iX5 Hydrogen, the
Heart of Joy also enables a very special experience: BMW Soft-Stop,
which executes the smoothest stopping action every provided by BMW.

Production and premiere in Spartanburg.
The market launch of the first variants of the new BMW X5 is
scheduled for late November 2026, with the all-electric and
plug‑in hybrid versions to follow in early 2027. Production of the
new models will ramp up some months ahead of this, with
BMW Group Plant Spartanburg (USA) initiating series production of the
fifth-generation BMW X5 in August 2026.

Plant Spartanburg has been producing the X5 ever since it was
launched – founding a new market segment – in 1999. And now the
facility is celebrating a new premiere: the new BMW iX5 will be the
first all-electric vehicle to be manufactured there. The new factory
for sixth-generation high-voltage batteries built for this model
variant adjacent to BMW Group Plant Spartanburg requires no fossil
fuels for normal operations. This is just one of many examples of
the BMW Group’s rigorous approach to minimising CO2e
emissions during production.

Munich.
Following a GTP podium and a GTD Pro class victory at the 24h
Daytona (USA), third place at the 24 Hours of Nürburgring (GER), and
a runner-up finish at the 24 Hours of Le Mans (FRA), BMW M
Motorsport now turns its attention to the next endurance racing
classic. Next weekend (25th to 28th June), BMW will be aiming for
its 26th overall victory at the 24 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps (BEL).
A total of eight BMW M4 GT3 EVOs will compete in the world's largest
GT3 race. In the Pro and Gold Cup categories, ROWE Racing and Team
WRT will field four cars with a total of 12 BMW M works drivers, as
they have done in every round of the GT World Challenge Europe
powered by AWS Endurance Cup. In addition, four more BMW M4 GT3 EVOs
entered by customer teams will compete in the Silver and Bronze
classes. The race at Spa-Francorchamps counts towards both the GT
World Challenge Europe and the Intercontinental GT Challenge championships.

BMW’s most recent overall victory at the Ardennes classic came in
2023, when ROWE Racing secured the win for the record-winning
manufacturer. This season, the team has already claimed third place at
the 24h Nürburgring. At Spa-Francorchamps, ROWE Racing will field two
BMW M4 GT3 EVOs. In the top Pro Cup category, Augusto Farfus (BRA),
Jake Dennis (GBR), and Raffaele Marciello (SUI) will share the #98
car. The team will also enter the #998 BMW M4 GT3 EVO in the Gold Cup,
where young BMW M works drivers Ugo de Wilde (BEL) and Tim Tramnitz
(GER) will team up with experienced colleague Jens Klingmann (GER).

The Belgian Team WRT arrives at its home race at Spa-Francorchamps
carrying strong momentum after major successes with the BMW M Hybrid
V8 at the 24h Daytona and in the FIA World Endurance Championship (FIA
WEC). In May, the team achieved not only its first FIA WEC victory at
Spa-Francorchamps, but also a one-two finish. More recently, it
secured pole position and second overall place at the 24 Hours of Le
Mans. The team's objective is now to continue this successful run with
the BMW M4 GT3 EVO. Team WRT will enter two cars in the Pro Cup.
Kelvin van der Linde, Jordan Pepper (both RSA), and Charles Weerts
(BEL) will share the #32 BMW M4 GT3 EVO, while Dan Harper (GBR), Max
Hesse (GER), and Valentino Rossi (ITA) will compete in the #46 car.

A further four BMW M4 GT3 EVOs will be entered by customer teams.
Paradine Competition will field two cars in the Silver Cup and Bronze
Cup categories. Team WRT will also compete with an additional car in
the Silver Cup, while Oman Racing by Century Motorsport will enter a
car in the Bronze Cup.

Race week at Spa-Francorchamps begins with a private test on Tuesday,
23rd June. On Wednesday evening, the traditional parade from the
circuit into the city centre of Spa will take place. In addition to
the BMW M4 GT3 EVOs, the BMW M3 Touring 24H will also participate. The
car became a fan favourite during the 24-hour race at the Nürburgring,
where it achieved an outstanding fourth-place overall finish. It will
also be displayed in the paddock throughout the race weekend.
Qualifying and the Superpole sessions will be held on Thursday and
Friday, with the race itself starting at 16:30 local time on Saturday.

Quotes ahead of the 24h Spa.

Andreas Roos (Head of BMW M Motorsport): “The 2026
season has already been a strong one for us, with successes at the
major 24-hour races: a GTP podium and class victory at Daytona, as
well as podium finishes at Nürburgring and Le Mans. Naturally, this
gives us great momentum heading into Spa-Francorchamps. BMW has
already achieved 25 victories there, most recently in 2023. We are
looking forward to fighting for another overall win with our four
factory-supported cars from ROWE Racing and Team WRT, while also
aiming to extend our success in the other classes.”

Vincent Vosse (Team Principal, Team WRT): “Our goal
for Spa-Francorchamps is to deliver a performance with the BMW M4 GT3
EVO that is every bit as strong as our race at Le Mans with the BMW M
Hybrid V8. We want to be in contention for victory with a strong and
competitive car.”

Hans-Peter Naundorf (Team Principal, ROWE Racing):
“Few races are as closely associated with success for ROWE
Racing as the 24 Hours of Spa. Three victories and two runner-up
finishes over the past ten years speak for themselves and demonstrate
that we know what it takes to succeed there. At the same time, the
last two editions have shown us just how fine the margins can be in
this race. On both occasions, we came close to another top result, and
on both occasions, only a small detail prevented us from achieving it.
Following our podium finish in the Intercontinental GT race at the
Nürburgring, we head to Spa with confidence. Our objective is clear:
we want both cars to be running at the front and fighting for podium positions.”

Edition, in Cabriolet-uitvoering. +++

//

Antwerpen.
Edition, in Cabriolet-uitvoering.

porte, l’inscription « Every day is a new beginning » sur les seuils

portes C/S ; MINI Cooper 5 portes C/S et MINI Cooper Cabrio C/S,

Teintes de carrosserie extérieures exclusives : Statement Grey,
Inspired White.

Smith, « Every day is a new beginning », sur les seuils de porte,

Trois arrière-plans Paul Smith exclusifs pour le Personal Mode.

the Gen6 system in the BMW i3 50 xDrive enables a maximum charging

Mike Reichelt, Head of Neue Klasse BMW, explains:
“The BMW 3 Series has been an icon of our brand for seven
generations and therefore more than five decades. It encapsulates
pure driving pleasure, innovation and timeless design. With the Neue
Klasse and its technology clusters, we are literally skipping a
vehicle generation. This is the DNA of our sporting sedan in a
completely new vehicle concept as we write the next chapter in the
BMW 3 Series success story.”

The BMW i3 exemplifies the new BMW design language: focused
on the essentials in a modern, unmistakable style.

With its 2.5-box design, the new BMW i3 offers a modern take on the
hallmark proportions of a sporting BMW sedan – and is immediately
recognisable as a BMW 3 Series. Its silhouette is shaped by a long
wheelbase, glasshouse set well back and short overhangs. Familiar
yet also new is the BMW-typical four-eyed face of the BMW i3. The
Neue Klasse design language guides the fresh interpretation of the
iconic front end. The BMW kidney grille and twin headlights merge as
an innovative light signature into a single stylistic piece. The
rear lights, with their pronounced horizontality, present the “L”
shape in a new, abstract form. Prominently flared wheel arches
amplify the broad, sporting stance of the new BMW i3.

Taking BMW’s hallmark driver focus to a new level.

The modern and dynamic interior represents a particularly vivid
expression of the Neue Klasse design language. The spacious cabin of
the new BMW i3 allows it to exploit the full potential of a vehicle
architecture geared squarely to electric mobility.

BMW Panoramic iDrive with BMW Operating System X employs a unique
display and operating system to open up a new dimension in the
hallmark BMW driver orientation. At its heart is the BMW Panoramic
Vision, which projects content across the entire width of the lower
area of the windscreen. The multimodal operating logic of BMW
Panoramic iDrive combines touch, haptic and voice based
interactions. The BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant plays a key
role here, enabling numerous vehicle functions, navigation
destination entry and media content to be controlled using natural
language. The introduction of large language model technology (LLM,
Alexa+)1 results in more dialogue-based verbal
interaction, enabling intuitive and intelligent exchanges.

BMW i3 takes technological leap forward with
sixth-generation electric drive system.

The first fully electric BMW 3 Series will be available from launch
in BMW i3 50 xDrive form. It has one electric motor on the front
axle and one on the rear axle, which together produce system output
of 345 kW/469 hp. Peak torque is 645 Nm (475 lb-ft). The BMW i3 50
xDrive sprints from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 4.7 seconds. The BMW
i3 50 xDrive as First Edition features identical motors and
performance figures.

In the new BMW i3, the highly efficient sixth-generation BMW eDrive
technology joins forces with the Heart of Joy control computer and
BMW Dynamic Performance Control driving stack. Together, they give
the car extremely precise, effortless and assured driving
characteristics. The Heart of Joy responds ten times faster than
previous systems and reduces the number of control interventions
necessary. The result is Sheer Driving Pleasure at a whole new
level. The assisted driving experience also enters a new dimension
in the BMW i3 with BMW Symbiotic Drive.

The Soft Stop function ensures the smoothest stopping action in the
history of BMW. Precise control of the electric motors brings the
fully electric sedan to a imperceptibly gentle stop without any
jerking or braking noises.

When it comes to driver assistance technologies in the new BMW i3,
BMW Symbiotic Drive enables seamless interaction between assistance
functions and human driving behaviour. With driver assistance
activated, drivers can respond to situations in their own style by
accelerating, steering or braking – and without deactivating the
relevant assistance system in the process. The optional Motorway
Assistant enables hands-free assisted driving on the motorway up to
130 km/h (81mph) with automated lane changes after confirmation by
eye signal2.

1 Planned from the second half of 2026 for vehicles with
BMW Operating System X in Germany and the USA. Further markets and
model ranges will follow in stages.
2 Available in most European countries, USA and Canada
by the end of 2026.

Long range, shorter charging times and bidirectional
charging functions.

Another feature of the technological leap forward taken by the new
BMW i3 is the high-voltage battery with new cylindrical cells
offering capacity of 108.7 kWh. The pack-to-open-body design of the
battery housing turns the battery into a structural part of the new
BMW i3.

The BMW i3 50 xDrive as First Edition has a range of up to 906
kilometres / 563 miles (as per WLTP test cycle) and therefore offers
a high degree of long-distance capability combined with dramatically
shortened charging times thanks to 800V technology. DC charging
rates of up to 400 kW allow the BMW i3 50 xDrive to take on enough
energy in ten minutes from a DC rapid charging point for up to 423
km (263 miles) of range1 (as per ISO 12906 in the WLTP
cycle). The new BMW i3 also offers bidirectional charging functions.

The equipment fitted in the BMW i3 50 xDrive as First
Edition includes the M Sport package and BMW Iconic Glow exterior package.

The new BMW i3 50 xDrive as First Edition uses the equipment items
it adds over standard specification to underscore the exceptional
attributes of the first fully electric BMW 3 Series. The extensive
standard equipment of the BMW i3 50 xDrive includes the Panoramic
Vision, Driving Assistant Plus, Comfort Access, BMW Digital Key
Plus, and electric and heated front seats. A standout feature of the
BMW i3 50 xDrive as First Edition is the M Sport package. It brings
the M Aerodynamics package, blue M Sport brakes and exterior mirror
projection with M logo, complemented inside the car by the exclusive
BMW M interior design in Veganza and M PerformTex Black (other
upholstery variants are available).

1 The added range after ten minutes of high-power
charging was determined in accordance with ISO 12906 in the WLTP
cycle. This and the charging performance depend on the vehicle
specification, battery charge, condition and temperature, individual
driving profile, use of auxiliary consumers, ambient temperature and
the charging power provided by the charging point.

The M Sport package therefore makes the dynamic potency of the new
fully electric sedan evident at first glance.

First Edition specification also includes the BMW Iconic Glow
exterior package, which underscores the visual depth of the iconic
BMW kidneys with precise contour lighting. Another feature of this
package is a welcome and goodbye animation, which brings three
visually impressive light effects. The BMW Iconic Glow exterior
package allows BMW i3 customers to adapt these attractive effects to
their personal tastes.

Further interior highlights include multifunction seats, BMW
3D Head-Up Display and Harman Kardon HiFi loudspeaker system.

The interior of the BMW i3 50 xDrive as First Edition also comes
with a host of additional equipment highlights. These include front
multifunction seats with electric adjustment, three-zone automatic
climate control, sun protection glazing and steering wheel heating.

The BMW 3D Head-Up Display complements the display and operating
system of the new BMW i3. It is integrated above the BMW Panoramic
Vision. The BMW 3D Head-Up Display additionally projects selected
content exclusively into the driver’s line of sight. This enables
extremely precise spatial perception – with navigation instructions,
for example.

The Harman Kardon HiFi loudspeaker system with Dolby Atmos support
brings a particularly high level of sound quality to the BMW i3 50
xDrive as First Edition. The automatic tailgate operation including
Smart Opener provides extremely easy access to the load compartment.
And adding the finishing touches to First Edition specification is
AC charging Professional, which raises the AC charging rate from 11
to 22 kW.

Additional attractive features available as an option for
the BMW i3 50 xDrive as First Edition.

Customers add further personal touches to their BMW i3 50 xDrive as
First Edition with the help of model-specific items of optional
equipment. One very popular option is seat heating for the rear
seats. Meanwhile, the optional panoramic glass sunroof with climate
comfort glazing creates a feeling of space bathed in light. A
trailer tow hitch with electrically pivoting ball head can also be ordered.

The extensive entertainment offering available from BMW Connected
Drive allows customers to specify optional additional BMW Maps
functions, the Security Assistant and a data package as part of BMW
Digital Premium.

Customers can also choose from a selection of additional options
for their BMW i3 50 xDrive as First Edition when it comes to driving
and parking functions. The range of options designed to enhance
safety and comfort further still includes Parking Assistant Plus,
Parking Assistant Professional and the Motorway.

Wide range of choices for exterior colours, wheels, interior
worlds and steering wheels.

A total of six attractive exterior paint finishes are available for
the BMW i3 50 xDrive as First Edition. These include the exclusive
metallic colour shade M Le Castellet Blue.

The range of wheel rims comprises three aerodynamic wheels and a
light-alloy variant: customers can choose between 19- and 20-inch rims.

When it comes to the interior of the new BMW i3 50 xDrive as First
Edition, Contemporary interior design and BMW M interior design
allow customers to choose from various attractive colour worlds. And
the range of steering wheels offers further scope for customisation,
with the optional sports steering wheel, M steering wheel and BMW
Individual steering wheel (only in conjunction with Contemporary
interior design Bicolour Digital White) all available to order.

Munich/Spartanburg (USA). The new BMW X5 has entered
the finishing straight in its development programme. The fifth
generation of the Sports Activity Vehicle (SAV) is now completing
final calibration drives around its production base at BMW Group Plant
Spartanburg in the USA. The new BMW X5 will be the first
BMW production model to be introduced onto the market with a choice of
five different drive system technologies. The first fully electric
BMW iX5 will be making its debut, and this will be followed in 2028 by
the arrival of the first ever hydrogen-powered BMW to go into series
production – the BMW iX5 Hydrogen. Also available will be petrol and
diesel variants with 48V mild hybrid technology, and plug‑in hybrid
models. Media representatives from various countries took the chance
to sample the BMW X5 40 xDrive (294 kW/400 hp), BMW X5 50e xDrive
plug-in hybrid (360 kW/490 hp) and BMW iX5 60 xDrive (425 kW/578 hp)
in the concluding test drives before the start of production.

The fully electric BMW iX5: world premiere with new Gen6
eDrive technology.

The first battery-electric BMW iX5 is based on the sixth generation
of BMW eDrive technology, which features a new high-voltage battery
concept with cylindrical cells and 800V technology. With its usable
energy content of 144 kWh in the USA and 141 kWh in the EU (net), the
BMW iX5 60 xDrive boasts the largest high-voltage battery to be fitted
in an all-electric BMW model to date. Propulsive power is provided by
one electric motor at the front axle and another at the rear, working
in tandem with BMW xDrive electric all-wheel drive.

The BMW iX5 Hydrogen: hydrogen-powered production model from
BMW due in 2028 with innovative Flat Storage system.
The first ever hydrogen-powered BMW production model, the BMW
iX5 Hydrogen, will hit the roads in 2028. Its powertrain comprises a
fuel cell system, the new BMW Hydrogen Flat Storage system and an
innovative high-voltage battery. The third generation of the fuel cell
system forms the basis for a particularly compact design as well as
high power and efficiency. The flat tank system consists of seven
high-pressure tanks made of a carbon-fibre reinforced composite, which
are connected with one another in parallel. These are integrated into
a robust metal frame. This layout makes exceptionally efficient use of
the space the system takes up in the vehicle; no room is lost inside
the cabin. Another benefit is that models with fuel cell technology
can be built on the same production line as other drive system types.

Pure driving pleasure thanks to the Heart of Joy.
The new BMW X5 will offer a new-dimension driving experience
courtesy of technology from the Neue Klasse – the Heart of Joy
featuring the BMW Dynamic Performance Control driving stack developed
fully in-house. This high-performance control unit acts ten times
faster than previous systems, meaning it is able to make adjustments
to the powertrain, brakes, steering sub-functions, charging and
recuperation in a matter of milliseconds. The result is remarkable
agility, poise and precision. In the BMW iX5 and BMW iX5 Hydrogen,
this technology also impresses with extremely smooth stopping
manoeuvres while also increasing efficiency by recovering more energy
under deceleration with regenerative braking. In combustion-engined or
plug-in hybrid models, the latest digital and highly interconnected
driving dynamics systems ensure the car always makes optimum use of
the available traction and delivers composed handling at all times.
These systems include the standard-fitted tenth-generation transverse
dynamics management system and near-actuator wheel slip limitation,
both supported by precisely tuned chassis components.

The wheels – larger rims with diameters of up to 23 inches can now be
specified – and the standard mixed-size tyres further enhance comfort,
stability and dynamism. The new BMW X5 comes as standard with adaptive
suspension whose dampers are controlled electronically for each
individual wheel, plus almost 50:50 weight distribution. The dampers
can be continuously adjusted, enabling everything from a very
comfortable ride through to sporty, dynamic handling. Adaptive Chassis
Control Professional, which is available as an option for the
all‑electric BMW iX5 and the plug-in hybrid models, maximises dynamic
prowess. It includes two-axle air suspension with electronically
controlled dampers, Integral Active Steering and active roll stabilisation.

Next-generation driver assistance systems.
The new BMW X5 features innovative SAE Level 2 driver
assistance systems and active safety functions from the Neue Klasse
technology clusters. Customers can therefore look forward to
significant upgrades and extended functionality, as well
as BMW Symbiotic Drive. One example of these innovations is the
optional Motorway and City Assistant, which includes Entry-2-Exit
assistance on motorways and Address‑2‑Address assistance in urban
areas. The advanced Level 2 driver assistance systems from BMW are
meticulously designed for seamless interaction between assistance tech
and human driving habits. The aim here is not to attain the highest
possible level of automation in every situation, but to provide a safe
driver assistance experience that offers maximum benefit and remains
controllable at all times. As a result, the driver always stays
involved as human and artificial intelligence interact. With driver
assistance systems active, this means the driver can accelerate, steer
and brake as required, without instantly deactivating the assistance
system in the process. The straightforward operating logic and clear
displays of BMW Panoramic iDrive ensure that assisted driving is
intuitive and controllable at all times, enabling safe use of the
highest SAE Level 2 automation.

The symbiotic interaction between driver and vehicle can also be
experienced with active safety functions that work unobtrusively in
the background as silent companions. A good example is the Lane
Keeping Assistant, which detects t. The driver’s intention based on
steering behaviour and where they are looking. The system only assists
with warnings and steering inputs when the driver really is drifting
out of their lane unintentionally or an impending collision is
detected. Other safety functions include automated evasive manoeuvring
within the car’s own lane, Lane Change Warning, Side Collision Warning
with steering intervention when there is a risk of a lateral
collision, plus Crossing Traffic Warning and automatic braking when
turning into a road or exiting a parking space.

* As this is a development-phase prototype, the figures given are
provisional. Energy consumption information as per WLTP is not yet available.

Press Contact: Jeroen Lissens
Tel: +32-3-890-9708
e-mailadres: jeroen.lissens@bmw.be

Press Release,X5,iX5 Hydrogen,iX5,X5 50e xDrive

overgenomen uit de autosport +++

//

Munich. The BMW M Concept Neue Klasse celebrates its
world premiere at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. It showcases the new BMW M
design language and sets a clear signal for the brand’s all-electric
future. The future BMW M product portfolio combines expressive design,
high performance and innovative materials.

The vehicle builds a bridge between its history and
motorsport.
It is instantly recognisable as a high-performance
automobile. BMW M thus remains true to its guiding principle: “Born on
the racetrack. Made for the streets.”

“The new BMW M design language forms the expressive spearhead of the
Neue Klasse – determined and purposeful,” says Oliver Heilmer, Head of
Design BMW Compact Class, Neue Klasse and BMW M. “At BMW M, form
consistently follows function. Every detail serves performance. This
project is truly special to me because it carries the BMW M character
into a new era.”

Form, function and motorsport references in the exterior design.
Powerful proportions, precise lines and a muscular shoulder
section with wide wheel arches define the unmistakable BMW M character.

Numerous M-specific design measures optimise aerodynamics – including
the reinterpreted M aero exterior mirrors in the colours of BMW M.

A distinctive air outlet shapes the V-shaped front bonnet. It
supports the cooling of the electric drivetrain.

A forward-facing shark nose and a light signature with depth effect
characterise the front end. Headlights and kidney grille form a single
unit. The new M Yellow Lights create a focused view of the road. The
yellow light icons are set to become a new signature feature of future
BMW M automobiles and reference GT racing cars as well as the BMW M
Hybrid V8.

The front apron of the BMW M Concept Neue Klasse adopts a
trimaran-style bumper, inspired by the form of high-speed sailing
boats. The three-part design underlines the vehicle’s technical
appearance. It also provides structural support for the front splitter
– an aerodynamic element at the lower edge of the front end.

Another new lighting accent for future BMW M automobiles are the
three-dimensional Track Lights located in the outer sections of the
front apron.

Track Lights and trimaran design also shape the rear apron of the BMW
M Concept Neue Klasse. The Track Lights frame the trimaran element
above the floating diffuser. A striking ducktail spoiler improves
aerodynamics, increases downforce at the rear axle and at the same
time sets a striking accent within the clean surface design of the
rear end.

Natural fibre elements are used in both the exterior and interior of
the BMW M Concept Neue Klasse – for example in the front splitter, the
bonnet air outlet and the diffuser. For the first time, natural fibre
is not only used in its pure form but also in a refined finish with M
branding in the roof graphic.

The newly developed Monza Red metallic paint finish and the
red-and-blue coded centre-lock wheels strengthen the visual link to
BMW M and motorsport.

Driver-focused cockpit for an intense BMW M experience.
The interior of the BMW M Concept Neue Klasse is reduced and
consistently geared towards the driving experience in a
next-generation all-electric BMW M.

Four newly developed bucket seats provide secure support even in
highly dynamic driving situations and integrate structural elements
made from natural fibre materials. The seat upholstery in Bathurst
Blue and Berry Red picks up the BMW M colours in a two-tone Merino
leather finish. Red five-point belts emphasise the sporty character.

For the first time in a BMW M vehicle, high-quality black nubuck
leather is used. It can be found on the steering wheel, the door
panels and the roll bar.

The floating dashboard is finished in black knit material and
features M-specific hexagonal backlighting.

Red accents on the M gear selector, the shift paddles on the M
steering wheel and in the digital displays add targeted sporty
highlights in the cockpit and put performance centre stage.

High performance and BMW M driving experience in a new dimension.
The BMW M Concept Neue Klasse represents the next chapter in
the M-typical blend of dynamics, agility and precision. The innovative
BMW M eDrive drive concept with four electric motors and BMW M Dynamic
Performance Control elevates driving experience and racetrack
capability to a new level.

“Even in the new all-electric era, we continue the M-typical
tradition of transferring both technological innovations and defining
design features directly from motorsport into series production,” says
Franciscus van Meel, Chairman of the Board of Management of BMW M GmbH.

BMW M eDrive is based on the Neue Klasse’s Gen6 technology and was
developed specifically for all-electric BMW M automobiles. The
drivetrain concept combines four electric motors with the central
control software BMW M Dynamic Performance Control in the
high-performance computer Heart of Joy. Thanks to the integrated,
wheel-specific control of the drivetrain and braking systems, BMW M
eDrive opens up new potential for driving dynamics and driving safety.
It enables high recuperation performance, optimal traction right up to
the limit and particularly direct response.

The 800-volt technology and the high-voltage battery with an energy
content of more than 100 kWh create the conditions for long-range
capability. A BMW M-specific optimised version of sixth-generation
cylindrical cells provides particularly high output when delivering
energy to the electric motors and during charging. The housing of the
high-voltage battery is structurally integrated with both the front
and rear axle, thereby additionally contributing to driving dynamics.

Press Contact: Jeroen Lissens
Tel: +32-3-890-9708
e-mailadres: jeroen.lissens@bmw.be

Press Release,Concept Vehicles & Design,BMW M,Design

//

Munich. BMW customers have covered more than 200
million kilometres hands free with the BMW Highway Assistant. The
function is used daily by customers in several model ranges,
including the 5 Series and 7 Series, iX, X5, X6, X7 and XM, as well
as the new BMW iX3.

The BMW Highway Assistant enables hands-free driving on highways at
speeds of up to 130 km/h. The system takes over longitudinal and
lateral control and supports the driver with automated lane changes
confirmed with a glance.

Dr Mihiar Ayoubi, Senior Vice President Driving Experience
Development: “The symbiotic interplay between driver and
driver assistance during hands-free driving with our Highway
Assistant, and the underlying safety concept, are unique in the
industry. Over 200 million kilometres of hands-free highway driving
in real-world customer use demonstrate just how reliable and
relevant this system is in everyday life.”

With the new generation of BMW driver assistance systems, the
availability of the Highway Assistant in Europe is being
significantly expanded from just one country to over 20. In
addition, the system now provides support from the motorway entrance
to the exit (entry-2-exit) when navigation is active using BMW Maps.
Whilst the previous generation was available in Germany, the USA and
Canada, in the new BMW iX3 and subsequent models such as the BMW i3
and BMW 7 Series, customers can now enjoy hands-free assisted
driving on suitable routes across borders in numerous European
countries thanks to DCAS approval*. These include Germany, Austria,
Italy, France and Belgium and the Netherlands. Further countries
such as the UK, Ireland, Spain and Portugal will follow shortly. In
Northern, Eastern and South-Eastern Europe the function will be
available at a later date.

Special safety concept for hands-free assisted driving on
highways, motorways and the autobahn.

Hands-free assisted driving with the BMW Highway Assistant is based
on a comprehensive safety concept. This includes redundant systems
for lane detection and vehicle positioning via cameras and
high-resolution maps. Using information from the side cameras, the
system continuously checks whether the vehicle is centred in the
lane. A safety chip on the ADAS computer constantly monitors that
everything is functioning correctly.

At the same time, the driver always remains responsible. A driver
camera ensures that the driver stays alert and ready to take over at
all times. To this end, the driver’s line of sight, eye status and
head movements are analysed. The system is designed to ensure that
hands-free driving is restricted exclusively to suitable conditions.
When the system detects that the driver needs to place their hands
back on the steering wheel, it prompts them to do so – for example,
when approaching a highway exit.

For the new generation of vehicles, starting with the BMW iX3, the
Motorway Assistant has been further developed with BMW Symbiotic
Drive. The function is designed to enable seamless interaction
between driver assistance systems and human driving behaviour. When
driver assistance is activated, the driver can accelerate, steer and
brake as required without immediately triggering a deactivation of
the longitudinal and lateral guidance. The intuitive operating logic
and clear displays in the BMW Panoramic iDrive ensure that assisted
driving is intuitive and can be controlled at any time – for the
safe use of the highest level of automation in SAE Level 2.

* Function naming in USA/Canada: BMW Highway Assistant; Function
naming in UK: BMW Motorway Assistant

** Approval of driver assistance systems in accordance with UN
Regulation No. 171 for Driver Control Assistance Systems (DCAS)

elektrificeren binnen een globale duurzaamheidsstrategie.

//

bedrijfsvoering.

aanzienlijke capaciteit in hernieuwbare energie. Verspreid over

duurzaamheidsstrategie,” zegt Joris Verheulpen, Chief Procurement
Officer van Katoen Natie. “We bouwen aan een geïntegreerd systeem
waarin voertuigen, energieproductie, opslag en slimme sturing elkaar
versterken.

chain in Thailand, waar Katoen Natie logistieke ondersteuning biedt
operationeel is.

Munich. With its combination of extremely agile
handling, M-typical performance and compact dimensions, the BMW M2
embodies unadulterated driving pleasure in its ultimate expression.
The new BMW M2 with M xDrive (fuel consumption, combined: 10.4 –
10.3 l/100 km [27.2 – 27.4 mpg imp]; CO₂ emissions, combined: 235 –
233 g/km according to WLTP, CO₂ class: G)* sees BMW M GmbH expanding
the breadth of the M2 model line-up. Here, the all-wheel-drive
system M xDrive will be available for the compact high-performance
sports car for the first time. M xDrive splits the power developed
by the 353 kW/480 hp six-cylinder in-line engine with BMW M
TwinPower Turbo technology between the front and rear axles
according to the situation at hand. Also in play is the Active M
Differential, which distributes drive fully variably between the
rear wheels as required, maximising traction and delivering the
driving dynamics normally associated with a rear-wheel drive model.

These enhanced traction levels increase the car’s agility, dynamism
and directional stability once again – and further improve its
acceleration figures. The new BMW M2 with M xDrive therefore offers
drivers the inimitable M feeling through all four seasons of the
year, in almost any road conditions and in all weathers – without
any trade-off in performance. The car showcases its optimised
traction (which is also the product of specially developed chassis
tuning) with sublime assurance in fluctuating grip conditions such
as ice and snow as well as on the track. The market launch of the
BMW M2 with M xDrive will begin in late summer 2026.

Superior traction and further enhanced dynamics thanks to M
xDrive and Active M Differential.

The M xDrive all-wheel-drive system employs an electronically
controlled multi-plate clutch in the transfer case to ensure fully
variable and super-smooth division of the engine’s power between the
front and rear wheels of the new BMW M2 with M xDrive. The system’s
rear-wheel bias fits the familiar M blueprint. In normal driving,
power is sent exclusively to the rear wheels. Only when they cannot
feed any more power to the road does the all-wheel-drive system
bring the front wheels into play.

M xDrive links up with the Active M Differential including
M-specific traction control and DSC (Dynamic Stability Control).
Together, they adapt the car’s responses precisely to the situation
in order to deliver a driving experience of unsurpassed dynamism
with a noticeable increase in directional stability and traction.

The transfer case features a model-specific control unit and
integrated wheel slip limitation. This allows it to compensate for
any differences in rotational speed between the front and rear
wheels. It can do this without having to involve the central DSC
management, which makes the process extremely quick and further
intensifies the M-typical sense of unshakable poise in highly
dynamic driving situations.

The M xDrive system’s responses can be configured via the M Setup
menu. This means the driver can adapt the characteristics and
performance attributes of the all-wheel drive system to both the
driving situation at hand and their personal preferences. One of the
options the driver can select is 2WD mode with DSC deactivated,
whereby torque is sent to the rear wheels only. This unlocks a
driving experience of remarkable purity.

A development with roots in racing car design: pre-chamber combustion.

The 3.0-litre straight-six engine powering the new BMW M2 with M
xDrive uses BMW M Ignite technology – a new pre-chamber combustion
process patented by BMW. This innovation is an example of the
successful transfer of technology from racing cars to production
models and will be introduced into all straight-six engines from BMW
M as of mid-2026. The pre-chamber combustion process significantly
reduces fuel consumption under high loads. At the same time, this
new engine technology helps to meet the requirements of the EU7
standard. As before, the engine in the BMW M2 with M xDrive offers
the performance characteristics for which M models are renowned,
such as instantaneous response and linear power development into the
higher reaches of the rev range. And this spirited power delivery is
accompanied by an emotionally stirring soundtrack. The lower fuel
consumption under high loads brought about by BMW M Ignite
technology will be particularly appreciated by customers who like to
use their car on track days, allowing them to keep lapping for
longer with the same amount of fuel.

The BMW M2 with M xDrive is fitted as standard with an M Steptronic
transmission with Drivelogic, which ensures the engine’s power is
harnessed to maximum dynamic effect. Standard-fit M light-alloy
wheels (19-inch at the front axle, 20-inch at the rear) transfer the
power onto the road surface. Track tyres can be specified as an option.

Optimum stopping power on road and track is provided by M Compound
brakes with six-piston fixed callipers at the front and
single-piston callipers at the rear.

The combination of the M xDrive all-wheel-drive system and Active M
Differential gives the new BMW M2 with M xDrive further improved
sprinting power. Indeed, it accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph)
in 3.7 seconds, 0.3 seconds faster than its sister model with pure
rear-wheel drive. The figure recorded using the “one-foot rollout”
method1 is 3.4 seconds. The BMW M2 with M xDrive reaches
the 200 km/h (124 mph) mark from rest in 12.8 seconds – or 12.5
seconds with the “one-foot rollout” method. The sprint from 80 to
120 km/h (50 to 75 mph) is covered in 3.7 seconds. The M2 with M
xDrive has a limited top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph), rising to 285
km/h (177 mph) if the optional M Driver’s Package is specified.

BMW Individual Borusan Turkish Blue is available for a BMW
M2 model for the first time.

The selection of exterior colours customers can choose from
includes five metallic and three solid variants, plus six options
from the BMW Individual range. For example, the BMW Individual
Borusan Turkish Blue special paint finish will be available for a M2
for the first time, accentuating the visually expressive exterior
design of the BMW M2 with M xDrive to particularly striking effect.

The BMW M2: a successful model, built in Mexico.

The BMW M2 Coupé (fuel consumption, combined: 10.2 – 9.7 l/100 km
[27.7 – 29.1 mpg imp], CO₂ emissions, combined: 230 – 221 g/km
according to WLTP, CO₂ class: G)* was the biggest-selling
high-performance model from BMW M GmbH in 2025. The new BMW M2 with
M xDrive – like the other M2 models – will be built at BMW Group
Plant San Luis Potosí in Mexico. Production will begin in August
2026. The most important sales markets for the BMW M2 with M xDrive
are the USA, Germany and China.

Alexander Karajlovic, Vice President for Development at BMW
M GmbH, says: “The new BMW M2 with M xDrive opens the
next chapter in the story of an icon. It breaks new ground in
blending the strong, uncompromising character of the BMW M2 compact
high-performance sports car with the superior traction and precision
of M xDrive for the first time. This fundamentally upgraded car lays
down the performance generated by its straight-six engine with even
greater poise and assurance, and adds maximum control, stability and
acceleration in any conditions to its dynamic repertoire. Like its
stablemates, the BMW M2 with M xDrive is therefore very much a
driver’s car, but it also elevates its high-performance abilities to
a new level and redefines sporting prowess in the compact M segment.”

strength of our local production – and it reflects the high level of
expertise, the great dedication, and the exceptional commitment of our
Chinese team,” says Raymond Wittmann, Member of the Board of
Management of BMW AG, Production.

“With the start of local production of the Neue Klasse later this
year, we are opening the next chapter and starting a new era for BMW
in China.”

“Seven million vehicles are far more than just a number — they
represent seven million times that Chinese customers have chosen and
trusted BMW. Beyond excellent products, we have also built in Shenyang
a future-proof production system, strong local competences, and an
exceptional team whose expertise drives our innovation and success in
China. Building on this strong foundation, we are accelerating into a
new era through innovation, deeper localization, and intelligent
manufacturing, opening the next chapter of BMW’s development in
China.” said Ms. Birgit Boehm, President and CEO of BMW Brilliance
Automotive Ltd.

The milestone vehicle that rolled off the line is the BMW 3 Series

it one of BMW’s most important production and innovation hubs worldwide.

The vision of the BMW iFACTORY serves as a powerful guiding principle
for the BMW production worldwide. BMW’s long-term commitment to
Liaoning Province and Shenyang continues to translate into a
future-oriented, high-quality production system and strong local
innovation capabilities, further strengthening the company’s long-term
development foundation in China.

Digitalization and AI Driving the Next Level of Smart Manufacturing

As a key practice hub for BMW’s global intelligent manufacturing,
digitalization and AI technologies have been widely integrated across
all production processes at the Shenyang Production Base. Through
intelligent applications, the base continuously enhances production
efficiency, quality management, and operational coordination,
achieving more efficient, stable, and high-quality manufacturing operations.

This development direction is also highly aligned with China’s
ongoing efforts to advance new industrialization and foster new
quality productive forces. Leveraging its Shenyang Production Base,
the BMW Group continues to drive the deep integration of intelligent
manufacturing, digitalization and sustainability, setting a benchmark
for high-quality development in the premium automotive manufacturing
sector while also contributing to local supply chain upgrading and the
cultivation of highly skilled talent. This demonstrates BMW’s
long-term confidence in China and its continued commitment to
supporting the high-quality development of China’s manufacturing industry.

Building Core Capabilities for the Neue Klasse, Accelerating
Toward New Era

BMW Shenyang Production Base continues to promote employee upskilling
and capability transformation, fostering a professional workforce
tailored to the future of the automotive industry. This provides
sustained support for new technologies, new products, and new
production models, while continuously contributing “China experience”
to the BMW global production network.

At the same time, centered around the local production of the Neue
Klasse models, BMW Shenyang Production Base is comprehensively
advancing upgrades in its production system, digital architecture, and
supply chain collaboration capabilities. Leveraging a higher level of
flexible manufacturing, AI-powered quality management, and a highly
connected digital production network, the Shenyang Production Base is
laying a solid foundation for the local production of Neue Klasse
models while further strengthening BMW’s overall competitiveness in
electrification, digitalization, and sustainability — continuing to
lead the future of premium automotive manufacturing.

Press Contact: Fanny De Leenheer
Tel: 038905175
e-mailadres: fanny.de-leenheer@partner.bmw.be

Press Release,Production,Supply Chain,Shenyang,China

//

Munich / Paris. The BMW Group and Mistral AI are
partnering to advance the use of AI in crash simulation. The aim is to
improve quality, accuracy and speed in complex engineering tasks. The
collaboration marks a first step towards scaling domain-specific AI
across further areas of vehicle development and the BMW Group value
chain.

“For the BMW Group, the use of industrial data is a key factor in
translating artificial intelligence into value creation,” said Dr.
Franz Decker, CIO and Senior Vice President of the BMW Group. “By
combining our engineering datasets with Mistral AI’s model training
capabilities, we are building specialized AI which supports complex
development tasks.”

Complexity and Data Volume in Crash Simulation

The scale and complexity of crash simulation at the BMW Group
underline the need for domain-specific AI. Each week, the company
runs thousands of virtual crash simulations, generating vast amounts
of engineering data. Over time, this has resulted in a historical
dataset of over one petabyte of crash simulation data. It provides
highly detailed insights into vehicle structures and material
behaviour, forming a unique foundation for training an industrial AI
model.

“As Industrial AI becomes the new frontier for AI, we are proud to
partner with the BMW Group” said Marjorie Janiewicz, Chief Revenue
Officer of Mistral AI. “This collaboration shows how industry
specific AI models can help solve complex engineering challenges
such as crash simulation.”

Large Industry Model as technical foundation

To scale this approach, the BMW Group is focusing on so-called
Large Industry Models (LIM). These are AI systems trained on
industry specific engineering and simulation data from vehicle
development and safety testing. Unlike general‑purpose AI systems,
LIMs embed domain‑specific knowledge directly into the AI model.
This requires not only industrial data, but also deep domain
expertise and technical environments that allow AI systems to learn
directly from BMW’s development processes.

The partnership highlights the importance of industrial data for
the next phase of data‑driven value creation and strengthens the BMW
Group’s AI and innovation ecosystem.

//

Munich. MINI and Paul Smith bring together what
defines both brands: iconic form, meticulous detailing, and the
freedom to reinterpret classic design with unexpected twists. The
MINI Paul Smith Edition translates the designer’s signature style
into a distinctive edition for the MINI Cooper family—recognisable
through characteristic accents both inside and out. The edition is
now readily available for the MINI Cooper 3‑Door (electric and
petrol), the MINI Cooper 5‑Door, and the MINI Cooper Convertible.

Details with a British twist

Three exterior colours are available for the edition, including two
exclusives. Statement Grey reinterprets the 1959 Mini Austin Seven
shade in a contemporary way - a clean grey with a subtle blue hue.
Inspired White echoes the beloved beige of the classic Mini in a
modern tone. Completing the palette is Midnight Black Metallic, an
elegant black from the current MINI colour range.

Defining the look are striking contrasts between body, roof, and
accent colours, combined with the signature Paul Smith stripes. Door
mirrors, the radiator grille surround, and wheel hub caps stand out
across all models in Nottingham Green - a nod to the British
designer’s hometown.

For the hard-top models, two edition-specific roof finishes are
available: Nottingham Green or a more understated black with matte
and gloss tone-on-tone striping.

Inside, the MINI Paul Smith Edition pairs British understatement
with creative details. Vescin/knit upholstery in Nightshade Blue
meets black knitted surfaces with subtle tone-on-tone stripes. A
“Hello” projection when opening the door, the “Every day is a new
beginning” inscription on the door sill, and the signature stripe
textile element on the 6 o’clock spoke of the sport steering wheel
add distinctive touches. A hand-drawn “Rabbit” graphic on the floor
mat completes the characteristically British sense of humour.

Munich. With the BMW M 1000 RR Limited Edition Isle
of Man TT, BMW Motorrad introduces a special model limited to 115
units to mark the 115th running of the Isle of Man Tourist Trophy in
2026. The edition is based on the BMW M 1000 RR M Competition and
combines exclusive TT design elements with carefully selected
equipment features and collector attributes.

Markus Flasch, CEO of BMW Motorrad: “Racing is part
of BMW Motorrad’s DNA. The BMW M 1000 RR Limited Edition Isle of Man
TT is therefore the logical evolution of a special model based on the
BMW M 1000 RR. This model bridges our successful
TT
heritage and our M models, and is a strong expression of racing DNA,
technical precision and exclusivity.”

With this edition limited to 115 units, BMW Motorrad
pays tribute to one of the most historic and demanding road races in
the world. Key features include the British Racing Green Uni Matt
paint finish, selected Mountain Course graphics, and sequential
numbering with a certificate of authenticity.

Design: distinctive, precise and authentic

The design of the Limited Edition is consistently aligned
with TT DNA: British Racing Green Uni Matt meets specific TT graphics
featuring selected sections of the TT Mountain Course – left-hand
turns on the left, right-hand turns on the right fairing side. A
carbon airbox cover with TT course and TT logo, further carefully
placed details, and a seat in Alcantara finish underscore the
motorsport character. The aluminium tank with graphic accents
completes the premium appearance.

Equipment of the Limited Edition

The special edition is based on the BMW M 1000 RR with M
Competition package (without pillion package). In addition, it
features exclusive edition-specific elements:

Milled numbering on the top yoke

Certificate of authenticity

M motorcycle mat (250 x 105 cm) with M logo and TT logo

The BMW M 1000 RR Limited Edition Isle of Man TT is aimed at
customers who combine uncompromising performance with a clear focus on
exclusivity and collector value.

Homage to the Isle of Man Tourist Trophy

For decades, the Tourist Trophy has stood for outstanding
rider skill, maximum precision and exceptional technical
performance. BMW Motorrad has a close connection to this history –
from Georg Meier’s legendary TT victory in 1939 to current successes
on the
S 1000 RR and M 1000 RR. The Limited Edition
takes up this heritage and translates it into a distinctive, exclusive
production model.

BMW Motorrad and the TT: historical milestones

In 1939, Georg Meier won the Senior TT on the BMW RS 255
Kompressor. In 1976, another major TT success followed: Helmut Dähne,
together with Hans-Otto Butenuth, won the 1,000 cc Production class on
the BMW R 90 S. In the modern era,
BMW Motorrad has continued this
tradition on the Mountain Course with the S 1000 RR and later the M
1000 RR.

Successes since 2014

Since the introduction of the RR models in the modern TT era,
BMW Motorrad has repeatedly demonstrated its competitiveness on the
Mountain Course. Michael Dunlop achieved a breakthrough in the 1,000
cc class on the BMW S 1000 RR in 2014.
Peter Hickman
shaped the more recent period of success with multiple victories,
including a hat-trick in 2022 in the Superbike, Superstock and Senior
TT races on
BMW motorcycles. In 2025, Davey Todd
further underlined the performance of the
BMW M 1000
RR with a Superbike victory and additional strong results in the 1,000
cc classes. A particularly striking testament to current performance
is the overall all-time lap record on the TT Mountain Course set in
2023: 16:36.115 minutes with an average speed of 136.358 mph (approx.
219.4 km/h), achieved by Peter Hickman on a
BMW M 1000 RR in
Superstock specification.

Limitation and availability

The M 1000 RR Limited Edition Isle of Man TT will be produced
in a strictly limited run of 115 units, further emphasizing its
exclusive collector character.
Munich. To mark the 40th anniversary of the BMW M3
E30, the LEGO Group and the BMW Group have come together to extend
their collaboration with a special project. For the first time in
their history, the two companies have teamed up to co‑create a unique
LEGO® Speed Champions BMW M3 E30 kit with a livery jointly
designed by BMW Group and LEGO Group design teams.

This collaboration elevates the two companies’ successful partnership
to a new level. The distinctive livery pays tribute to the car’s
legendary heritage and draws inspiration from the BMW M Motorsport
division. Besides the visually captivating forms and colours of the
livery, it is unique in that it is applied not only to the scaled-down
replica LEGO® Speed Champions BMW M3 E30 version, but also
to the actual BMW M3 E30. Accordingly, the launch of the small-scale
version will be accompanied by an authentic showcar.

The LEGO® Speed Champions BMW M3 is characterised by
special attention to detail in its design, faithful to the original

grille, the rear spoiler and the front end with its four round
headlights, characteristic of the first-generation BMW M3. The set
contains 358 pieces and is 17 centimetres long and 7 centimetres wide.
Builders will be able to enjoy endless racing fun, with functional
wheels and a realistic driver minifigure wearing a BMW M T-shirt.

For added excitement, fans around the globe will soon be able to
match their outfits with their beloved minifigure. A scaled-up version
of the minifigure T-shirt will be available from 1 August 2026 onwards
from BMW dealers and on lifestyle.bmw.com. Made from organic cotton,
it features a high-quality print on the front and back.

Driven by the goal of reproducing iconic racing cars with LEGO
bricks, the LEGO® Speed Champions line has been delighting
car enthusiasts and collectors of all ages. The iconic BMW M3 E30 sits
perfectly within this tradition, allowing generations of fans to
experience BMW Group culture and engineering excellence. This latest
edition is sure to ignite racing passion as builders assemble the
legendary touring car featuring a one-of-a-kind livery.

The LEGO® Speed Champions BMW M3 E30 is now available for
pre-order at LEGO.com and will be released in LEGO stores and at BMW
dealers on 1 August 2026, €27.99 RRP. Available through BMW dealers in

batterij-elektrische en waterstofaandrijvingstechnologieën +++

//

Landshut. BMW Group Plant Landshut has started
pre-series production of a key control unit for the BMW Group hydrogen
drivetrain. The so-called “Energy Master” will in future be used in
the new BMW iX5 Hydrogen. At the same time, the site is commissioning
a second production line for the control unit used in the
battery-electric vehicles of the Neue Klasse (BMW iX3 and BMW i3).

The Energy Master is the central control unit of the high-voltage
system. In battery-electric vehicles, it is mounted on the
high-voltage battery. In the BMW iX5 Hydrogen, a modified version
performs a central control function within the drivetrain system and
is installed on the BMW
Hydrogen Flat Storage system. The control unit combines energy
and data flows, manages the power supply for the e-machine and
on-board electrical system, and ensures safe, intelligent operation of
the overall system. This makes it the key interface between the fuel
cell system, the innovative high-voltage battery and the electric
drive machines.

Josef Hochreiter, Vice President Hydrogen Vehicles at the BMW
Group: “Our ambition for the BMW iX5 Hydrogen is clear: a
genuine BMW – with sheer driving pleasure. To achieve this, a
perfectly coordinated overall system is crucial. The Energy Master is
a key component in this: it intelligently controls the innovative
high-voltage battery and, together with the third-generation fuel cell
system, delivers assured driving dynamics.”

The plant’s expertise creates synergies between battery-electric and
hydrogen-based drivetrain technologies. The close integration of
electrical/electronics expertise and industrial series production
makes the plant ideally suited to manufacture components for both
technology paths. At the BMW Group, the development and production of
the Energy Master are being carried out fully in-house for the first time.

Thomas Thym, Head of BMW Group Plant Landshut: “With
the start of pre-series production of the hydrogen-specific Energy
Master, we are reinforcing Plant Landshut’s role as a centre of
expertise for innovative drivetrain technologies. Here we combine
development, manufacturing expertise and industrial scaling – for
battery-electric vehicles as well as hydrogen fuel cells.”

Landshut’s role in electromobility
BMW Group Plant Landshut is home to two production areas for
the Energy Master. For battery-electric vehicles (BEV), the highly
complex control unit has already been in series production since last
year – currently for the BMW iX3 and BMW i3 models of the Neue Klasse.
With the commissioning of the second production line, capacity for
this will almost double. At the same time, pre-series production of
the hydrogen-specific Energy Master for the BMW iX5 Hydrogen is now beginning.

In addition, Landshut plays a central role in the BMW Group hydrogen
drivetrain network: the media distribution plate and the fuel cell
stack housing for the current pilot fleet of the BMW iX5 Hydrogen were
already produced here and have since been further refined. The media
distribution plate ensures the precise distribution of hydrogen and
air within the fuel cell, while the stack housing structurally
integrates and protects the cell stack.

The new BMW iX5 Hydrogen
For the BMW iX5 Hydrogen, which will be launched in 2028, the
BMW Group is introducing a new hydrogen tank concept. The arrangement
and size of the tanks enable a range of up to 750 kilometres*. The BMW
Hydrogen Flat Storage system makes particularly efficient use of the
available installation space and is compatible with the Gen6
high-voltage battery without taking up interior space. This makes it
possible to produce fuel cell models on the same production line as
vehicles with other drive systems.

The BMW Hydrogen Flat Storage technology forms part of the
drivetrain. Together with the fuel cell system and an innovative
high-voltage battery, it delivers the brand-typical BMW driving
pleasure. The latest generation of fuel cell technology (Gen3) will
also be used; it is more compact, more efficient and more powerful
than all previous generations and is being developed jointly by the
BMW Group and Toyota Motor Corporation.

Series production of the fuel cell systems will begin from 2028 at
BMW Group Plant Steyr; Landshut is firmly integrated as a technology
and component location.

The BMW Hydrogen strategy
The BMW Group sees technological openness and a broad product
portfolio as key success factors. By integrating fuel cell technology
into the new BMW X5 series, the company is strategically expanding its
series offering and making the advantages of hydrogen available to customers.

Hydrogen stands for electric driving with long range and fast
refuelling, diversifies energy sources and reduces dependence on a
single infrastructure or raw material supply chain.

Investment and funding strengthen Germany as an industrial location
Through the "HyPowerDrive" project the development
of the powertrain and the tank system of the BMW iX5 Hydrogen is
funded by the Federal Ministry of Transport (BMV) within the framework
of the IPCEI Hy2Move. The federal government is providing funding of
EUR 191 million. In addition, the project is (co-)financed by the
state of Bavaria with a total of EUR 82 million. The funding is
implemented by the Project Management Jülich (PtJ) and coordinated
by NOW GmbH.

Since 2020, the BMW Group has invested a high three-digit
million-euro sum in expanding electromobility and related key
technologies at Plant Landshut.

CO2 emissions & consumption.

* As this is a prototype in the development phase, the
statutory WLTP consumption data (and EPA) is not yet available.

//

Munich/Cernobbio. Revealed at the 2026 Concorso
d’Eleganza Villa d’Este, the Vision BMW ALPINA is a design study that
heralds a new chapter for a brand defined by extreme capability,
sophistication, and the mastery of both performance and comfort.

“Alpina has always represented a very specific idea of performance
and re finement—where speed and comfort are complementary ambitions.
Our role as the new custodians of this brand is to preserve this
distinctiveness and shape it for a contemporary context,” says Adrian
van Hooydonk, head of BMW Group Design. “Vision BMW ALPINA shows how
these qualities can be expressed with discipline and modernity,
suggesting what our direction is for this brand as we move it into the future.”

DESIGN AND FORM: THE SHAPE OF SPEED
The Vision BMW ALPINA is a respectful interpretation of the
brand’s heritage, shaped by the most contemporary creative instincts.
At 5,200 mm in length, its presence is substantial: wide, low, and
confident. The coupé roofline is long and raked, its form immediately
signals both speed and the ability to ac commodate four adults in
genuine comfort. A V8 powertrain drives the experi ence, tuned to
produce the characteristic notes of the Alpina exhaust: rich and deep
at low speed, sonorous at high revs.

“In Vision BMW ALPINA, we distil every element of the brand to its
essence and apply it in a deeply modern and sophisticated way,” says
Maximilian Mis soni, head of BMW Design Midsize & Luxury Cars and
BMW ALPINA. “Every detail reflects substance: in engineering, in
materials, and in the story it tells. The statements it makes are
subtle and revealed only on a closer read. This interplay between
purity and richness defines our approach to BMW ALPINA design.”

The front end is defined by powerful volumes and a forward-leaning
stance that promises speed without overstatement. The shark nose
reinterprets BMW’s kidney grille as a three-dimensional sculpture that
leads the car’s form and frames the brand emblem with quiet confidence.

From this shark nose, the exterior is organized around a single
visual axis: the speed feature line. Rising from the lower front
corners at a six-degree inclina tion, it runs along the side of the
body and wraps around the rear—assertive enough to suggest motion,
controlled enough to remain refined.

HALLMARKS AND PRINCIPLES: “SECOND READ” SOPHISTICATION
Subtle secondary details reward attention without demanding
it. This “Sec ond Read” principle runs throughout the Vision BMW ALPINA.

Deco-lines have been part of Alpina’s language since 1974. For the
Vision BMW ALPINA, the modernized deco-lines are distilled and painted
on the side of the body beneath the clear coat—a quiet gesture that
reflects how the brand’s defining details can be adapted to what comes next.

Inward-facing return surfaces are treated with particular care,
finished in a dark metallic tone that rewards a closer read. This
approach is inspired by the BMW 507, which uses chrome only on the
inside of its kidney grilles.

The shark nose captures the same “Second Read” sophistication: the
inner surfaces feature a finely scaled signature Deco-line graphic,
while a con cealed, softly backlit perimeter reveals it only when active.

A warm white tone characterizes the daytime running lights and traces
the kidney surrounds, inspired by the first light over the Bavarian
Alps. Clear-cut illuminated crystals add a precise highlight within
the slender lamps.

The elliptical four-pipe exhaust remains, as does the “ALPINA”
lettering—re interpreted as a machined, polished metal element on the
lower front apron. The 22-inch front and 23-inch rear wheels feature
the 20-spokes design that has been a constant at Alpina since 1971.

INTERIOR AND DETAILS: ARCHITECTURAL CLARITY
The cabin is generous in every sense: space, material
quality, and the care with which technology has been integrated.
Architectural volumes define the layout, with each element designed as
a standalone form, not absorbed into a homogeneous interior.

The six-degree speed feature line continues through the interior,
dividing the darker upper segment and the lighter lower segment.
Full-grain leather— sourced from producers across the Alpine
region—pairs with stitching inspired by the Deco-lines.

Craft details are restrained but well considered: a bridge stitch
inspired by his toric steering wheel hand-stitching appears sparingly
in heritage blue and green colors, while a watchmaking-inspired
beveling technique was used for the metal components, combining satin
and polished finishes. Clear-cut crys tal is reserved for the controls
that shape how the automobile drives, under lining the value BMW
ALPINA places on the driving experience itself.

Behind the rear console, a glass water bottle sits beside BMW ALPINA
crystal glasses that rise on a self-deploying mechanism. Each glass is
engraved with 20 deco-lines and features a six-degree rim profile,
held by concealed mag nets and softly lit against the open-grain
center console.

A COMFORTABLE DRIVER IS A FASTER DRIVER
Burkard Bovensiepen understood something much of the
automotive world has forgotten: a comfortable driver is a faster
driver. That belief remains cen tral to the Vision BMW ALPINA. Alpina
offers Comfort+, a setting beyond the standard BMW comfort calibration
that delivers a more supple, refined char acter, and it is retained here.

BMW Panoramic iDrive, including the new passenger screen, spans the
dash board with a digital user interface language crafted specifically
for BMW AL PINA. Heritage blue and green are introduced with
discipline, intensifying as the driver moves from Comfort+ to Speed
mode within the BMW Panoramic Vision head-up display. The background
imagery is equally considered. The Alpine landscape depicted is an
exact rendering of the mountain range visible when looking south from Buchloe.

ROOTED IN THE BRAND’S ORIGINS
The Alpina story began in 1965 in Buchloe, Germany, a small
Bavarian town in the shadow of the Alps. Burkard Bovensiepen—destined
for a career in typewriter manufacturing—chose instead
high-performance tuning, founding Alpina and then refining BMW road
and racing cars. From the outset, his phi losophy was clear: speed and
comfort were complementary, not competing ambitions.

In endurance racing, while rivals stripped weight, Burkard added
extra pad ding to the driver’s seat: he understood that a more
comfortable driver is a faster driver. That insight carried over to
the road cars that followed, cele brated for composure and
sophistication at high speed over long distances.

ALPINA B7 COUPÉ: A POINT OF MATURITY
The Alpina B7 coupé of the late 1970s marked a turning point:
Alpina’s phi losophy was applied to a luxury car, and every model that
followed was rec ognized as luxurious. Based on the BMW E24 6 Series,
its long bonnet, wide stance, and shark nose looked fast even at rest,
while the cabin could com fortably carry four people across a
continent. The Vision BMW ALPINA is the next chapter of that story.

BMW ALPINA—AN EXCLUSIVE BRAND WITHIN THE BMW GROUP
BMW ALPINA became an exclusive brand within the BMW Group in
2026, bringing proven stewardship and a clear responsibility: to
understand what Alpina means to those who cherish it and to honor that
in what follows.

"BMW ALPINA fills a gap in our portfolio between BMW and
Rolls-Royce as we see even more potential in the high-end segment.
With Alpina we have a strong legacy and a global community, which we
want to build on, while pre serving the essence of what the brand
stands for—speed, comfort and sophis tication,“ says Oliver
Viellechner, head of BMW ALPINA.

Next year, customers will be able to experience the first model of
the BMW ALPINA brand—inspired by the BMW 7 Series, but unmistakably
BMW ALPINA.

Press Contact: Jeroen Lissens
Tel: +32-3-890-9708
e-mailadres: jeroen.lissens@bmw.be

Press Release,Design,BMW Alpina

//

Munich/Cernobbio. BMW Motorrad presents the Vision
K18, a vision bike that offers a confident outlook on a new expression
of performance, luxury and dynamism. The Vision bike will be unveiled
to the public for the first time in the exclusive setting of the
Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este on Lake Como.

Conceived as a one-off vision bike, the BMW Motorrad
Vision K18 stands for uncompromising passion, confident long-distance
performance and outstanding visual presence. Long-distance travel is
reimagined as a sensual experience: emotion is central, performance is
the key – and is staged with all the senses. The Vision K18 embodies
BMW Motorrad’s ambition to combine technical excellence with emotional
appeal, making performance not only measurable but also visibly
tangible. At the same time, it positions the inline six-cylinder as
part of BMW DNA and sends a clear signal of pioneering spirit: greater
radicality and sharper character down to the finest detail – as
inspiration for future series-production solutions.

At the heart of the concept is a traditional 1,800
cm³ inline six-cylinder engine which, as both a design and technical
centerpiece, shapes the entire appearance – and at the same time was
the starting point for the vision. As an iconic BMW power unit that
has stood for authority, smooth running and character for decades, it
provided the impetus to rethink the vehicle from the ground up and to
celebrate the drivetrain as a visible feature: technology is
deliberately revealed, proportions subordinate themselves to the
engine, and performance becomes directly tangible as a piece of
engineering. The strikingly elongated silhouette follows this logic,
and its flyline takes cues from high-speed aircraft such as the
Concorde – for an appearance that conveys dynamism even at a
standstill.

BMW Motorrad’s current six-cylinder models are
positioned in the touring segment – built for confidence and comfort
on long journeys. Accordingly, the design follows a sculptural,
elongated formal language inspired by long-haul aviation: expansive
base bodies – as seen on iconic high-speed aircraft – form a clear,
calm foundation from which technically necessary components
deliberately “break out” in contrast. Large body surfaces meet
complex, openly displayed technology with graphically precise cut-outs
and openings. Distinct inline-six references reinforce this principle:
six intakes, six tailpipes and six LED headlights cite the exceptional
engine architecture in a visual way. Hand-formed body parts as well as
a hydraulically lowerable suspension underscore the exclusive,
visionary character.

The aspiration for quality and emotion results from
the interplay of craftsmanship and high-tech: parts of the aluminum
bodywork are painstakingly formed by hand (“planished”), including a
seamless side panel more than two meters long that appears as if cast
from a single piece. Contrasting materials such as aluminum and forged
carbon, along with special surfaces and processes – for example,
structures created by flame spraying – set deliberate accents; the
resulting bright, metallic look is intended as a reminiscence of
classic Formula 1 exhaust headers. Visible technical highlights such
as the striking intake, the hydraulically lowerable suspension and an
actively cooled headlight make the engineering character of the vision
immediately tangible. For the team, one of the key challenges was the
precise coordination between highly complex technical components and
elements crafted with masterful workmanship.

A central element of the MW Motorrad Vision K18 is
the visual guiding idea “The Heat of Speed”. A deliberately employed
heat-haze effect makes the power of the inline six-cylinder visible
and translates performance into an emotionally tangible image. The
chosen stage is intentionally a runway setting, reflecting both the
aviation inspiration as well as the theme of confident high speed and
long-distance capability.

With the Vision K18, BMW Motorrad delivers a powerful
emotional statement. It is an expression of attitude, design expertise
and a passion for extraordinary engine concepts – Full Force Forward.
This guiding motif translates forward momentum into proportion and
line: a downward overall gesture like an aircraft taking off, an
arrow-shaped silhouette, and a presence reminiscent of a sprinter in
the starting blocks. Radically executed proportions make the ambition
visible in every detail: swapping the positions of the airbox and the
tank enables a maximally flat rear line. In contrast, there is a very
wide tail section that, framed in carbon, accommodates six tailpipes.
The front also reflects power with its staged intake – air is routed
through six tubes to the central air filter.

Markus Flasch, CEO BMW Motorrad: “With the BMW
Motorrad Vision K18, we show how we interpret performance, luxury and
emotion in a new, very confident way. For us, the inline six-cylinder
is far more than an engine – it is a statement. The Vision K18
translates this power into a sculptural form that makes dynamism and
speed tangible even at a standstill. This bike stands for our passion
to redefine the boundaries of design and performance repeatedly.”
