Singapore. BMW just took roadside assistance (RSA) up
a notch with the introduction of two new BMW Servicemobiles to help
their customers when the unexpected happens on Singapore roads.
The BMW Servicemobiles are transformed new BMW X1 vehicles and replace
the previous generation BMW X1 vehicles that were used for RSA since 2021.

“You need to consider more than the price, performance and
technological advances when you purchase a new vehicle,” said Lars
Nielsen, Managing Director, BMW Group Asia. “You also need to consider
life after you’re handed the keys. You need to have the peace of mind
knowing that if anything happens while you’re on the road, you’ll be
taken care of. This is what we’re providing our customers in Singapore.”

“With our new fleet of BMW X1 Roadside Assistance Servicemobiles, our
customers have 24/7 access to an RSA Breakdown Hotline, onsite
diagnosis, towing coverage from anywhere in Singapore, the Peninsular
Malaysia and 80km into Thailand, Real Time Tracking of towing, mobile
charging for EVs and much more,” said Ramesh Divyanathan, Director of
Customer Support, BMW Group Asia. “In worst case scenarios, all BMW
and MINI vehicles are fitted with Intelligent Emergency Call, which
automatically sends information regarding the vehicle to the call
center within seconds of a major accident. The SIM card installed in
the car is fixed and crash-proof, so Intelligent Emergency Call is
always on standby if you need it.”

“Beyond the technical support, we also want our customers to relax
and know we care. This comes out even more in the personal touches we
provide with our services, such as umbrellas if it’s raining, water
for temporary relief from the heat, or even cookies during festive
seasons. It’s the little touches that can leave a lasting impression
on a customer in need,” added Divyanathan.

Full Roadside Assistance Services include:

24/7 access to a dedicated BMW Call Centre.

Onsite repair in Singapore, including jumpstart, battery
replacement, fuel delivery.

24/7 Tyre Rescue to ensure customers are mobile as soon as possible.

24/7 onsite EV Charging rescue service to ensure customer are
mobile again

Access to RSA technicians from 7am to 11pm for battery cases.

SMS confirmation with the details of the service and GPS tracking
of towing service.

Grab voucher to the next destination for all towing cases.

Towing coverage for all of Singapore, Peninsular Malaysia and 80km
into Thailand.

Vehicle repatriation back to Singapore for disabled vehicles in
Malaysia. This includes additional benefits such as transportation
back to Singapore, or the next destination, via taxi, coach, train,
ferry, or flight (up to 2 pax, economy class) and hotel
accommodation (up to 3 nights, twin-sharing, 5 stars) claimable up
to SGD$500 for breakdowns more than 100km from Singapore and repairs
estimated to take more than 3 days.

(Seasonal) Bottled water, cookies, refreshments

Munich. Bavarian premium carmaker BMW is using an
elaborately orchestrated brand campaign to shine the spotlight on its
wide range of fully electric vehicles, which now comprises the BMW i4,
BMW i5, BMW i7, BMW iX1, BMW iX2, BMW iX3 and BMW iX. The
multi-channel campaign is focusing communications on values that have
forever been associated with the BMW brand – exceptional dynamics,
innovative technologies, unmistakable design and supreme driving comfort.

The global campaign relies primarily on video formats. The
centrepiece of the campaign launch was a 30-second TV commercial,
which has been spun off across the brand’s social media channels –
YouTube and Instagram, in particular – and, with the help of paid
media, in the individual markets. The commercial invites the viewer to
discover the “soul” and character of BMW along a fast-paced journey
through the history of the brand: from victories in motor racing via
the brand’s distinctive design language and expertise, and its
time-honoured talent for innovation, all the way to the transformation
to electric mobility. The joy of driving has been inextricably linked
with BMW since the company was formed – and this commercial brings it
to life through the brand’s all-electric models.

The use of the hit single “Beautiful Things” by US singer Benson
Boone turns up the emotionality of the commercial another notch. The
track has exceeded 1.3 billion streams on Spotify alone and has also
been a trending sound on social media platform TikTok for several months.

The emotionally charged hero film is accompanied by a series of other
assets. For example, five reels have been produced which focus on the
brand’s core competencies – Performance, Heritage, Innovation,
Motorsport and Community. And additional reels telling inspirational
social-media stories on the various fully electric models round off
the multi-channel campaign.

“With this emotional campaign we are celebrating the unique soul of
our brand, which has defined us since day one and which we have also
carried into our fully electric BMW vehicles,” says Bernd Körber,
Senior Vice President BMW Brand and Product Management. “After all,
our customers represent the true essence of BMW, and they experience
pure driving pleasure in all of our models.”

As well as the video content, a selection of just under 40 photo
assets showcase the fully electric models to spectacular effect in
natural surroundings – at different times of day and in different
locations. Atmospheric lighting, which enriches the motifs with warm
colours and mildly exaggerated contrasts, brings a very distinct sense
of approachability to the images. The exclusive features of the
individual models, such as the two-tone paint finish of the BMW i7,
are depicted realistically. Alongside numerous individual images
emphasising the pure joy of electric driving, a handful of pack shots
of the BMW i4, BMW i5, BMW i7, BMW iX1, BMW iX2, BMW iX3 and BMW iX in
their various configurations highlight the rich diversity of vehicles
offered by BMW across the relevant segments.

Singapore. BMW Asia announced the availability of the
first-ever BMW iX1 and BMW X1 M35i xDrive – two exciting models from
the popular BMW X1 family. The first-ever BMW iX1 brings the
experience of instantly accessible driving pleasure, modern
versatility and locally emission-free motoring to a vehicle segment
enjoying worldwide growth, making it accessible to a wide target
audience. The first-ever BMW X1 M35i xDrive meanwhile elevates the
characteristics of the BMW X1 with M performance, bringing dynamism,
agility, and precision to the instantly recognisable driving pleasure.

“I am thrilled that two highly anticipated models in the premium
compact SAV segment have finally arrived on our shores,” said Mr. Lars
Nielsen, Managing Director, BMW Group Asia. “Having sold close to
5,500 units of the BMW X1 in the last 10 years, this is proof that our
customers appreciate the sporty presence, spacious interior, and
practicality of this global bestseller.

“Whether it’s the fully-electric BMW iX1 – a Category A COE eligible
vehicle – for those who prefer a vehicle with solid green credentials
or dynamic BMW X1 M35i xDrive for those who desire a high-powered
active lifestyle, there is something for everyone and we are confident
these two models will continue to delight and amaze drivers and
occupants alike.”

Fully electric BMW iX1 has an exemplary carbon footprint.

The introduction of the first-ever BMW iX1 makes an extremely
effective contribution to meeting BMW’s sustainability goals. The BMW
Group is underlining its determination to reduce the use-phase CO2
emissions of its entire fleet across all segments by another 50 per
cent by 2030 compared to the figure for 2019.

A particularly rigorous approach is taken to reducing the CO2
emissions released during production of the fifth-generation BMW
eDrive technology employed in the first-ever BMW iX1. In the supply
chain alone, utilising green electricity for battery cell production
and making increased use of secondary raw materials cuts CO2 emissions
by around 20 per cent compared with a vehicle where these measures are
not deployed.

BMW iX1: a new era of driving pleasure in the compact SAV begins.

BMW is consistently continuing its model offensive in the field of
e-mobility and is presenting another all-electric variant of the new
Sports Activity Vehicle (SAV) in the premium compact segment. The
first-ever BMW iX1 enables a particularly attractive and at the same
time economical entry into the world of premium electric mobility.

By expanding its range in the premium compact segment, the BMW Group
is opening up locally emission-free driving pleasure to broad target
groups and thus providing additional impetus for the ramp-up of
e-mobility. The first-ever BMW iX1 is manufactured at the BMW Group
plant in Regensburg, along with the first-ever BMW X1 M35i xDrive.

Highly efficient electric drive, state-of-the-art charging
technology, excellent range.

As in all of the brand's current electric vehicles, the first-ever
BMW iX1 also uses the current fifth generation BMW eDrive technology.
In Singapore, the first-ever BMW iX1 eDrive20 is the first
front-wheel-drive electric car introduced by the brand in the premium
compact segment. A highly integrated drive unit on the front axle of
the new entry-level model generates an instantaneously available
maximum torque of 250 Nm in addition to the maximum output of 110
kW/147 hp. The compact SAV accelerates from zero to 100 km/h in 10.5
seconds. Its top speed is electronically limited to 170 km/h.

The high-voltage battery, which is housed in the vehicle floor to
save space, has a usable energy content of 64.8 kWh. Its high energy
density, together with the efficiency of the e-motor, contributes to
the car’s favourable power consumption and delivers an excellent range
compared to the competition. Three-phase AC charging with an output of
up to 22 kW is available in the first-ever BMW iX1. This reduces
charging time to 3:45 hours. The battery can be charged using direct
current with a power of up to 130 kW. The battery's state of charge
can be increased from 10 to 80 percent within 29 minutes at a fast
charging station. The electric power consumption and range of the
first-ever BMW iX1 benefit from the lower drag generated by the
all-electric model’s closed-off BMW kidney grille.

The short charging times result from a particularly efficient
charging software among other things. The charging power can be very
specifically controlled while energy is being fed in. In addition,
anticipatory thermal management ensures that the temperature of the
high-voltage battery is optimally controlled in good time before a
stopover at a fast-charging station. When the navigation system is
active, the battery is automatically pre-conditioned before a planned
charging stop. Pre-conditioning the battery can be manually activated
and deactivated by the customer at any time.

New functions for charging stops.

Important additional information for the charging stops is added in
the route summary, including the car’s estimated charge level upon
arrival, the recommended charging time and the target charge level for
the onward journey. Live data is processed during the journey,
allowing new charging stations to be automatically added to the
itinerary if any of the stations originally planned for charging stops
no longer have availability. The driver is also now offered
alternative charging-optimised routes, where available. By default,
the system is set to ensure that the vehicle reaches both the final
destination and the charging stops with a charge level of at least 10
per cent. Drivers can adjust the size of this charge “cushion”, if
required. Charging the first-ever BMW iX1 is easier than ever before
as the uthorization and start functions for the charging process are
now integrated into the My BMW App.

If the navigation system’s route guidance has planned a mid-journey
stop at a DC charging point, the high-voltage battery of the
first-ever BMW iX1 is pre-heated as the car approaches in order to
ensure the power is taken on board as efficiently as possible. This
pre-conditioning of the battery can also be initiated manually when
the route guidance function is not activated.

With Connected Parking, BMW Maps is also able to provide assistance
when searching for a parking space close to the final destination.
Shortly before arriving, the driver is given information on the
nearest multi-storey car park as well as proposed routes offering a
particularly good chance of finding a parking spot in the vicinity of
the destination. Public charging stations in the area around the
destination are also displayed in the first-ever BMW iX1.

Advanced operation thanks to new BMW iDrive with "QuickSelect".

The first-ever BMW iX1 eDrive20 offers a comprehensive range of
standard equipment, including the BMW Maps navigation system, modern
driver assistance systems, the Parking Assistant including Reversing
Assist Camera and numerous innovative digital services. The new
BMW iDrive with "QuickSelect" and the new BMW Operating
System 9 are also standard equipment. It enables a wider range of
digital content for information and entertainment, faster update
cycles for over-the-air functions as well as optimised access to many
specific online services such as third party apps, extended navigation
and parking services and additional possibilities for personalisation,
for example through further My Modes.

The BMW Curved Display is the heart of the display and control
system. It consists of a 10.25-inch Information Display and a Control
Display with a screen diagonal of 10.7 inches under a common glass
surface curved towards the driver. The latest BMW iDrive generation
features a redesigned start screen with "QuickSelect".

This means that the system has received an improved menu
structure, oriented towards devices from the consumer electronics
sector. "QuickSelect” enables functions to be accessed directly
without having to switch to submenus. This means that the new BMW
iDrive is even more consistently geared towards intuitive touch
operation and control via natural language.

Newly developed seats offer even better comfort.

The newly developed seats in the compact SAV offer classy looks,
optimised comfort over long distances and extended functionality. This
applies to both the standard items and the optional sport seats, which
also stand out with their prominent bolsters and shoulder areas, and
their adjustability of seat angle and depth.

The rear compartment of the first-ever BMW iX1 includes three
full-sized seats with noticeably greater seat comfort than that
offered by the predecessor model. ISOFIX child safety seat fasteners
are integrated into the outer seats, and the 40:20:40 split rear seat
backrests can be folded down to expand the boot capacity. The backrest
angle of the three seat elements can be adjusted separately and
through several stages, allowing either seating comfort or boot
capacity to be increased. The fore-and-aft adjustment of the rear seat
bench available as an option for the purely combustion-engined models
provides even greater versatility.

Two-zone automatic climate control and navigation system as standard.

Two-zone automatic climate control comes as standard in the
first-ever BMW X1, as does the rain sensor with automatic headlight
activation. This system enables separate adjustment of the desired
temperature on the driver’s and front passenger side of the car. It is
operated using voice control or by touch from the control display. The
automatic climate control system in the first-ever BMW iX1 works using
extremely efficient heat pump technology. The all-electric model also
comes as standard with an auxiliary climate control system to heat or
cool the interior before a journey. A Bluetooth interface, four USB-C
ports and a 12V power socket in both the centre console and the boot
all come as standard in all variants of the first-ever BMW iX1.

BMW X1 M35i xDrive: A performance model with unmistakable M character.

The first-ever BMW X1 M35i xDrive builds on the spontaneous driving
pleasure that lies at the heart of the compact SAV concept with an
injection of the dynamism, agility and precision for which M models
are renowned. Its four-cylinder unit is part of the new modular
generation of BMW Group Efficient Dynamics engines and uses
M TwinPower Turbo technology to record maximum output of 300 hp.

The first-ever BMW X1 M35i xDrive races to 100 km/h from rest in 5.4
seconds, while top speed is electronically limited to 250 km/h.
M-specific chassis technology – including the option of M Compound
brakes for the first time on a performance model – teams up with BMW
xDrive intelligent all-wheel drive to deliver sublime performance
characteristics. The new range-topping model comes with the type of
exclusive design and equipment features originally reserved for
high-performance cars from BMW M GmbH.

New four-cylinder engine with extra power.

Among the 2.0-litre unit’s M-specific highlights are a new, extremely
robust crankshaft drive, an optimised system of oil supply for the
pistons with cooling channels, and main bearing shells and caps
carried over from the latest-generation six-cylinder in-line petrol
engine. Its M TwinPower Turbo technology has been upgraded by
increasing the performance of the turbocharging system and indirect
charge air cooling at the same time as introducing dual injection for
mixture preparation as a function of load point. The engine generates
its maximum output between 5,750 and 6,500 rpm, while peak torque of
400 Nm is on tap from 2,000 up to 4,500 rpm.

The first-ever BMW X1 M35i xDrive is the first performance model from
BMW M GmbH whose exhaust gases are channelled via two pairs of twin
tailpipes. Nestled neatly into the left and right of the rear apron,
they are a signature feature of high-performance models from BMW M and
have now been adopted by the most powerful member of the compact SAV range.

Seven-speed Steptronic transmission with double clutch and M Sport Boost.

The seven-speed Steptronic transmission fitted in the first-ever
BMW X1 M35i xDrive stands out with its ultra-sharp shift action. Shift
paddles on the steering wheel allow quick manual interventions in the
gear selection process.

The M Sport Boost function is also available for exceptionally rapid
bursts of speed. Here, all the powertrain and chassis systems are
switched to their sportiest setting when the driver pulls on the
left-hand shift paddle for at least one second.

Supreme traction and agility.

The BMW xDrive intelligent all-wheel-drive system ensures that drive
power is distributed between the front and rear wheels as required in
any situation, assisted by the mechanical limited-slip differential
built into the seven-speed Steptronic transmission. This serves to
limit the difference in speed between the front wheels. With a locking
factor of up to 26 percent, it increases traction over loose terrain
or in adverse weather conditions at the same time as boosting agility
and handling dynamics when taking corners at speed.

Adaptive M suspension and sport steering as standard.

Standard specification for the first-ever BMW X1 M35i xDrive includes
adaptive M suspension, whose mechanically controlled adjustable and
frequency-selective dampers benefit both agility and long-distance
comfort. As a result, the system offers comfortable response when
absorbing minor bumps in the road surface combined with sporty damper
characteristics in dynamic driving situations.

The M-specific chassis technology on the performance model
additionally brings about a 15-millimetre drop in ride height compared
with other BMW X1 model variants. The sport steering that likewise
comes as standard pairs Servotronic speed-sensitive power assistance
with a very direct rack ratio.

Near-actuator wheel slip limitation for sharper agility.

A particularly prominent contributor – alongside the DSC (Dynamic
Stability Control) system – to the first-ever BMW X1 M35i xDrive’s
ever-present combination of unshakable handling poise and supreme
agility is near-actuator wheel slip limitation technology. Here, the
traction control function is integrated into the engine management.
This eliminates the long signal paths to the DSC control unit, meaning
that the corrective inputs are applied up to ten times faster than in
conventional systems and with exceptional precision. Near-actuator
wheel slip limitation thereby ensures optimum traction (even on
slippery roads), unwavering straight-line composure under hard
acceleration, and excellent directional stability in corners.

Design and equipment. An exclusive window into signature M performance.

The first-ever BMW X1 M35i xDrive comes available with M Performance
Aerodynamics package, adding M high-gloss Shadowline exterior trim
with extended elements and M lights Shadowline to the car’s already
expressive exterior design. M light-alloy wheels in an exclusive
twin-spoke design measuring 20 inches in diameter round off the
bespoke chassis specification of the first-ever BMW X1 M35i xDrive.

A front apron with particularly large air intakes ensures the engine,
transmission and brakes can continue to work within their optimum
temperature windows at all times, even under hard driving. Prominent
side skirt extensions, a model-specific roof spoiler and a rear apron
with diffuser inlay vividly showcase the performance-led character of
the new flagship model.

The M kidney grille also sports vertical double bars – a detail
previously only found on high-performance models from BMW M GmbH. When
viewing the range-topping model from the side, black M exterior mirror
caps with twin-stalk design indicate its elevated status.

M-specific interior, with standard M Sport seats.

The distinctive aura on the interior of the first-ever BMW X1 M35i
xDrive is enhanced further still with standard M Sport seats in
Standard equipment for the first-ever BMW X1 M35i xDrive also brings M
Sport seats in Alcantara/Veganza combination. These offer a wide range
of electrical adjustment (including memory function for the driver’s
seat), have integral head restraints and feature an illuminated M logo
in the upper section of the backrests.

The M-specific content on the BMW Curved Display – a fully digital
screen grouping formed by the 10.25-inch information display and the
control display with a screen diagonal of 10.7 inches – sharpens the
driver’s focus on the sporty driving experience.

The likewise M-specific cockpit design also plays its part in
creating a high-intensity performance experience inside the cabin.
Highlights include a Sensatec-covered instrument panel, Aluminium
Hexacube Pale M interior trim elements, an anthracite-coloured
headliner, M pedals, and an M leather steering wheel with gearshift paddles.

Sophisticated features enable precise individualisation.

The first-ever BMW X1 M35i xDrive comes as standard with two-zone
automatic climate control, BMW Live Cockpit Professional including the
BMW Maps navigation system, M roof rails in Black high-gloss,
automatic tailgate operation, and a rain sensor with automatic
headlight activation. Also available are an interior and exterior
mirror package, ambient lighting, and the Harman Kardon sound system.
Already fitted as standard are the front-collision warning system,
Cruise Control with brake function and the Parking Assistant including
Reversing Assist Camera and Reversing Assistant.

Display and control/operation system, connectivity.
Updated BMW iDrive with QuickSelect and BMW Operating System 9.

In order to make selecting and operating numerous functions and
digital services even more intuitive and comfortable, the latest
generation of BMW iDrive offers a newly designed home screen and
QuickSelect functionality. This brings an improved menu structure that
takes its cues from consumer electronics devices. By showing the right
information in the right place, the new BMW iDrive enhances the car’s
focused, assured driving experience.

The updated BMW iDrive system with QuickSelect in the first-ever
BMW X1 M35i xDrive is underpinned by BMW Operating System 9. This
technology enables a broader offering of digital content for
information and entertainment, shorter function update cycles and
improved access to a host of specific online services. BMW iDrive with
QuickSelect also teams up with the BMW Curved Display and BMW
Intelligent Personal Assistant, and is therefore geared squarely to
operation using the touchscreen and natural language.

Singapore. BMW Asia today launched the first-ever BMW
iX1, all-new BMW X2, first-ever BMW i5 M60 xDrive and first-ever BMW
X1 M35i xDrive at the Singapore Motorshow 2024, Singapore’s largest
annual motoring event. From 11-14 January 2024, visitors can discover
the new models at the Suntec City Convention Centre (BMW – Level 4,
Booth 115).

“After an exciting and very successful 2023 that concluded with
multiple expansions in Singapore from our dealer partners, we are
thrilled to kick-off 2024 with the launch of four exciting key
models,” said Mr. Lars Nielsen, Managing Director, BMW Group Asia.
“The first-ever BMW iX1 and all-new BMW X2 will be offered as Category
A COE models, further expanding our premium compact segment offerings
and solidifying our commitment to bring greater choice and flexibility
to our customers across the model range.”

Mr. Nielsen added, “In a continuation of 2023, the first-ever BMW i5
M60 xDrive is another highlight. After the great success of the BMW i4
M50, the BMW i5 M60 xDrive goes one step further in delivering driving
pleasure to M enthusiasts who are conscious about their carbon
footprint. Plus, we are introducing the range topping BMW X1 M35i
xDrive, building on the spontaneous driving pleasure of the BMW X1.”

The first-ever BMW iX1.

As in all of the brand's current electric vehicles, the first-ever
BMW iX1 uses the current fifth generation BMW eDrive technology. A
highly integrated drive unit on the front axle of the entry-level
model generates an instantaneously available maximum torque of 250 Nm
in addition to the maximum output of 110 kW/147 hp. The compact Sports
Activity Vehicle (SAV) accelerates from zero to 100 km/h in 10.5
seconds. Its top speed is electronically limited to 170 km/h.

The all-new BMW X2.

The all-new BMW X2 has a distinctive, visually expressive design
showing clear differentiation from the brand’s compact SAV, the BMW
X1. As such, it is instantly identifiable as a pure-bred Sports
Activity Coupé (SAC). Also characteristic of the new model are its
dynamically stretched lines and a generous surface treatment. The
all-new BMW X2 has grown by 194 millimetres in length over its
predecessor to 4,554 millimetres, by 21 millimetres in width to 1,845
millimetres and by 64 millimetres in height to 1,590 millimetres.
Plus, its increased wheelbase and wider tracks benefit space in both
the five seats and the boot. The all-new X2 has a maximum load
capacity of 560 litres.

The first-ever BMW i5 M60 xDrive.

The first-ever BMW i5 M60 xDrive combines an up to 442 kW/601 hp
drive with hallmark M performance and specific design features. Two
highly integrated drive units on the front and rear axles make up an
electric all-wheel drive. The system torque generated is up to 820 Nm
when M Sport Boost or the M Launch Control function is activated. This
enables the first-ever BMW i5 M60 xDrive to accelerate from zero to
100 km/h in 3.8 seconds. Its top speed is electrically limited to 230 km/h.

The first-ever BMW X1 M35i xDrive.

The first-ever BMW X1 M35i xDrive races to 100 km/h from rest in 5.4
seconds with a maximum output of 300hp, while top speed is
electronically limited to 250 km/h. M-specific chassis technology –
including the option of M Compound brakes for the first time on a
performance model – teams up with BMW xDrive intelligent all-wheel
drive to deliver sublime performance characteristics. The sharper
character of the first-ever BMW X1 M35i xDrive is clearly apparent
both inside and out. The new range-topping model comes with the type
of exclusive design and equipment features originally reserved for
high-performance cars from BMW M GmbH. These include the two pairs of
exhaust tailpipes.

Digitalisation.

For the first time at the Singapore Motorshow, customers have the
opportunity to interact with the Emotional Virtual Experience (EVE).
Using 3D-rendering software, their vehicle of choice is presented in
almost photo-realistic quality, allowing exploration from all
available angles, including a detailed look at its interior and
exterior in different environments during the day and night.

The second fully electric model variant of the compact Sports Activity Vehicle features the new BMW iDrive with "QuickSelect".</pp:summary>

Munich. BMW is consistently continuing its model
offensive in the field of e-mobility and is presenting another
all-electric variant of the new Sports Activity Vehicle (SAV) in the
premium compact segment. The BMW iX1 eDrive20 (combined power
consumption: 17.2 – 15.4 kWh/100 km according to WLTP; CO2
emissions: 0 g/km, provisional values) enables a particularly
attractive and at the same time economical entry into the world of
premium electric mobility. The second all-electric model variant of
the compact SAV is powered by an electric motor with a maximum output
of 150 kW/204 hp (with temporary boost) and has a range of 430 to 475
kilometres (provisional values according to WLTP).

By expanding its range in the premium compact segment, the BMW Group
is opening up locally emission-free driving pleasure to broad target
groups and thus providing additional impetus for the ramp-up of
e-mobility. The new BMW iX1 eDrive20 will be available from the start
of production in November 2023 at a recommended retail price of 47,900
euros (incl. VAT). Like the BMW iX1 xDrive30 (combined power
consumption: 18.1 – 16.8 kWh/100 km according to WLTP; CO2
emissions: 0 g/km) it is manufactured at the BMW Group plant in Regensburg.

Highly efficient electric drive, state-of-the-art charging
technology, excellent range.

As in all of the brand's current electric vehicles, the new BMW iX1
eDrive20 also uses the current fifth generation BMW eDrive technology.
A highly integrated drive unit on the front axle of the new
entry-level model generates an instantaneously available maximum
torque of 250 Nm in addition to the maximum output of 150 kW/204 hp.
The compact SAV accelerates from zero to 100 km/h in 8.6 seconds. Its
top speed is electronically limited to 170 km/h.

The high-voltage battery, which is housed in the vehicle floor to
save space, has a usable energy content of 64.78 kWh. Its high energy
density, together with the efficiency of the e-motor, contributes to
the the car’s favourable power consumption and delivers an excellent
range compared to the competition. The Combined Charging Unit of the
new BMW iX1 eDrive20 enables AC charging with up to 11 kW as standard.
This allows the high-voltage battery to be charged from zero to 100
percent of its capacity within 6.5 hours. Three-phase AC charging with
an output of up to 22 kW is optionally available. This reduces
charging time to 3:45 hours. The battery can be charged using direct
current with a power of up to 130 kW. The battery's state of charge
can be increased from 10 to 80 percent within 29 minutes at a fast
charging station.

Advanced operation thanks to new BMW iDrive with "QuickSelect".

The new BMW iX1 eDrive20 offers a comprehensive range of standard
equipment, including the BMW Maps navigation system, 2-zone automatic
air conditioning, numerous modern driver assistance systems, the
Parking Assistant including Reversing Assist Camera and numerous
innovative digital services. The new BMW iDrive with
"QuickSelect" and the new BMW Operating System 9 are also
standard equipment. It enables a wider range of digital content for
information and entertainment, faster update cycles for over-the-air
functions as well as optimised access to many specific online services
such as 3rd party apps, extended navigation and parking services and
additional possibilities for personalisation, for example through
further My Modes. In this way, the BMW Operating System 9 also creates
the conditions for the customer to customise the system to a high
degree with additional digital services, which are available with the
new BMW Digital Premium offer.

Press Contact: PressClub Media Support
Tel: 089 382 0
E-mail: media.pressclub@bmw.de

Press Release,BMW i,U11,iX1,Product,BMW

Singapore. BMW Asiatoday announced the availability
of the all-new BMW X1 in Singapore. With its robust appearance and
functional versatility, the BMW X1 embodies an authentic experience of
freedom and independence. The interior’s progressive design and
sophisticated ambience, coupled with a refreshed exterior, serve to
underline the Sports Activity Vehicle’s (SAV) deeply embedded premium character.

“The BMW X1 has evolved in terms of design and technology and is more
appealing than ever,” said Mr. Lars Nielsen, Managing Director, BMW
Group Asia. “Customers appreciate its design, practicality, and
driving performance, and have even more to look forward to now. Not
only is the BMW X1 the first BMW X model to be offered with a Category
A COE, customers are also offered 5-year BMW Service Inclusive Plus
and BMW Extended Warranty as part of the standard offer. We are
confident the all-new BMW X1 will make a strong statement and will be
top of mind for SAV customers.”

The all-new BMW X1 is offered in Singapore in two trims – xLine and M
Sport. The SAV is built in BMW Group Plant Regensburg, where models
with combustion engines, plug-in hybrid systems, and all-electric
drive roll off a single assembly line for the first time.

Design: modern surface treatment, increased visual presence
and robust looks in unmistakable BMW X model style.

With its significantly sharper design and increased interior space,
the all-new BMW X1 represents an immediately recognisable leap forward
in development. The surface treatment, lines, and classy exterior
design details of the BMW X1 display its SAV identity more clearly
than ever – distinctive design features include the powerful
proportions, almost square wheel arch contours, and the signature BMW
X model styling of the front and rear ends.

The third model generation has grown in its exterior dimensions –
compared to its predecessor, it clocks in at a length of 4,500 mm (+53
mm), 1,845 mm in width (+24 mm), and a height of 1,642 mm (+44 mm) –
giving it powerful proportions. The new car has a wheelbase of 2,692
mm, 22 mm longer than that of the outgoing model. Track widths have
increased by 31 mm to 1,592 mm at the front axle and 1,593 mm at the
rear axle, enhancing the handling composure and agility.

The upright front end of the BMW X1 gives it a much greater sense of
presence, with slim LED headlights, a large, almost square BMW kidney
grille, and X-shaped lines radiating out to the sides. Adaptive LED
headlights with matrix high beam, pulsating turn indicators, and
variable light distribution are available as standard on both trims in
Singapore. Also included with this feature is an eye-catching Welcome
and Goodbye show produced by the headlights and rear lights when the
driver approaches the car or when the doors have just been locked.

Expressively sculpted surfaces and a long roofline including roof
rails are the distinguishing features of the new model’s dynamically
stretched silhouette. When viewed from the rear, the slim tailgate
window, horizontal lines, striking LED lights and flared wheel arches
produce the typical SAV look.

The robust aura of the all-new BMW X1 can be intensified to great
effect with the specific design elements of the xLine model, which
include stylistic underride protection. The M Sport model places the
focus firmly on dynamic driving pleasure with features such as its
large cooling air inlets.

Both model variants are offered with 19-inch light-alloy wheels in
Singapore. Customers can choose from two solid and ten metallic shades
for the exterior paint finish – including a Frozen paint option from
BMW Individual for the first time.

Interior: progressive ambience, versatile space.

The interior of the all-new BMW X1 has been completely reworked and
given a more futuristic feel as compared to its predecessor. The key
elements of the cabin’s redesign are the slender instrument panel, the
BMW Curved Display, the “floating” armrest with integral control
panel, as well as a vertical smartphone tray at the front of the
centre console.

A raised seating position and a progressive premium ambience drawing
from the BMW iX help to create a distinctive driving experience inside
the BMW X1. In the front section of the centre console, directly below
the central air vent, is space for two cup holders and a smartphone
tray with indirect illumination on both sides. Secured by a movable
clasp, phones can be placed here upright for wireless charging and are
visible to the driver and front passenger. The space underneath the
armrest is used as a storage compartment. Alongside the gear selector
lever (which has a new, reduced design) in the integral control panel
are exquisitely embedded buttons for using vehicle functions. These
include the Start/Stop button, the volume control for the audio
system, and the button for the hazard lights. Among the other
functions activated using the relevant buttons on the control panel
are the parking brake and My Modes.

The newly developed seats are available in Sensatec perforated
upholstery, with sports seats for the driver and front passenger. The
rear compartment of the new BMW X1 includes three full-sized seats
offering a notable improvement in seating comfort. For even greater
versatility, the rear seats can be adjusted fore and aft by 130 mm.
The 40 : 20 : 40 split rear seat backrests can be folded down or
adjusted to a different angle to expand the boot capacity – increasing
it from 540 litres (34 litres more than its predecessor) to a maximum
of 1,600 litres (+50 litres).

The BMW X1 packs value for money with a host of standard equipment.
Features include the BMW Maps navigation system, Comfort Access
function, intelligent two-zone automatic climate control, and a rain
sensor with automatic headlight activation. There are also four USB-C
ports, two 12V power sockets, and a far greater number of driver
assistance systems compared with the outgoing model. Improvements have
also been made to both acoustic comfort and occupant protection. The
integrated passive safety concept now also includes a new interaction
airbag between the front seats.

Standard: BMW Operating System 8 and the new BMW iDrive.

The all-new BMW X1 also treats its occupants to the latest-generation
BMW iDrive multi-sensory vehicle experience in the form of the
standard-fit BMW Live Cockpit Plus. Based on BMW Operating System 8,
it comprises the BMW Curved Display with its state-of-the-art graphics
and menu structure along with the BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant
that has now gained additional skills.

The fully digital screen grouping is formed by the 10.25-inch
information display and the control display with a screen diagonal of
10.7 inches. The new BMW iDrive is geared purposefully to providing
intuitive touch and voice control. The broad-based digitalisation of
the interior enables the number of physical buttons, controls and
switches required for operation to be significantly reduced. The new
My Modes combine individually selectable vehicle settings with
matching experience worlds for the interior.

Efficient Dynamics – uncompromised performance.

The all-new BMW X1 is powered by a compact 1.5-litre engine with BMW
TwinPower Turbo technology in front-wheel drive. The engine is paired
to a 7-speed Steptronic double-clutch transmission, with the M Sport
variant featuring gearshift paddles on the steering wheel for quick
manual selection of gears. The BMW X1 delivers 122 hp and a fuel
economy of 6.8 L/100km. With 230Nm of torque available across a wide
rev band of 1,500-3,600 rpm, the SAV accelerates from 0-100 km/h in
10.5 seconds, and reaches a maximum speed of 200 km/h. Its
CO2 emissions measure at 156 g/km, allowing the BMW X1 to
achieve a neutral banding in the Vehicle Emissions Scheme without any penalty.

All-rounder offering optimum blend of agility and ride comfort.

The all-new BMW X1 offers well-resolved handling characteristics in
any situation and delivers the driving experience for which the brand
is renowned. The compact all-rounder’s sophisticated chassis
technology produces a perfectly harmonious balance between sporty,
agile handling on the one hand, and long-distance comfort on the
other. All the tools required here are provided by a body construction
that reduces weight while increasing rigidity, a long wheelbase, wider
tracks than the predecessor model, and targeted upgrades to the
single-joint spring strut axle at the front and the three-link rear axle.

Near-actuator wheel slip limitation is fitted as standard, benefiting
both traction and directional stability. Other new features include
the integrated braking system and the extra, lift-related damping at
the front axle – this feature reduces body movement when driving over
small bumps. All components of the single-joint spring strut axle at
the front have been developed almost completely from scratch. The new
axle kinematics and increase rigidity help give the car agile turn-in
response and steering feel that is largely unaffected by torque steer.
On the M Sport variant, the adaptive M suspension features
frequency-selective damping, sport steering and a 15-millimetre drop
in ride height.

Wide variety of systems for automated driving and parking.

The technological advances made in the all-new BMW X1 are also
evident in the automated driving and parking systems available.
Standard features include Cruise Control with brake function and the
front-collision warning system, which is now also capable of detecting
oncoming traffic when turning right (in countries where vehicles drive
on the left) and pedestrians and cyclists when turning left. The
Parking Assistant including Reversing Assist Camera and Reversing
Assistant also forms part of the standard equipment roster.

The Lane Change Warning consistently monitors the zones to each side
of the vehicle, and detects vehicles in the ‘blind spot’ from speeds
of above 20 km/h. Rear Crossing Traffic Warning supports the driver in
situations such as reversing out of parking spaces and brakes to avoid
potential collisions in situations where it is difficult for the
driver to monitor the entire surrounding. Another particularly useful
feature is the exit warning function which detects approaching
vehicles and cyclists, and warns the driver and/or passengers through
an acoustic signal together with flashing LEDs in the mirror and
ambient lighting system when opening doors. Additional features such
as the BMW Drive Recorder can be optioned in Singapore by means of the
Remote Software Upgrades facility.

My BMW App: a universal digital interface between driver and vehicle.

The My BMW smartphone app acts as a universal digital interface that
provides information on the vehicle’s status at any time, from any
location. Additionally, it enables remote operation of functions such
as vehicle locating, locking and unlocking the doors, or monitoring
the car’s immediate vicinity (Remote 3D View). Features also include
the ability to send destination addresses from a suitably equipped
smartphone to the vehicle’s navigation system. The My BMW App
additionally provides customers with a direct link to their BMW dealer
and the BMW brand, allowing them to arrange service appointments, for
example, or find out the latest BMW news.

The all-new BMW X1 is now available for viewing at all authorised BMW showrooms.

Munich. With its robust appearance and functional
versatility, the new BMW X1 embodies an authentic experience of
freedom and independence in day-to-day driving and on longer
journeys. The interior’s progressive design and sophisticated
ambience, and the much broader selection of standard equipment
compared to the outgoing model, serve to underline its deeply
embedded premium character.

At launch in October 2022, there will initially be a choice of two
petrol and two diesel engines. These will link up with a seven-speed
Steptronic transmission with double clutch as standard, and their
drive power will be channelled to the road via either the front
wheels or the BMW xDrive intelligent all-wheel-drive system,
depending on the model. This starting quartet will immediately be
followed by the all-electric BMW iX1 xDrive30 (electric power
consumption, combined in the WLTP cycle: 18.4 – 17.3 kWh/100 km; CO2
emissions: 0 g/km; figures in NEDC cycle: –; estimates based on the
car’s current development stage) as well as by a pair of plug-in
hybrid models and another two conventionally powered variants with
48V mild hybrid technology. The new BMW X1 will be built at BMW
Group Plant Regensburg, where models with combustion engines,
plug-in hybrid systems and all-electric drive will all roll off a
single assembly line for the first time.

The BMW iX1 will bring the experience of locally emission-free
driving pleasure to a vehicle segment enjoying worldwide growth,
making it accessible to a very wide target audience. The compact SAV
powered by the latest BMW eDrive technology will therefore give a
major boost to the accelerated ramp-up of electric mobility. The
improvements in sustainability compared to the predecessor model can
be partly attributed not just to the wide-ranging electrification
measures, but also the increased use of green energy, both for
production and in the supply chain, and the greater quantities of
secondary raw materials and natural materials used.

Design: modern surface treatment, increased visual presence
and robust looks in unmistakable BMW X model style.

The surface treatment, lines and classy exterior design details of
the BMW X1 display its Sports Activity Vehicle identity more clearly
than ever in its third model generation. Distinctive design features
include the powerful proportions, almost square wheel arch contours
and the signature BMW X model styling of the front and rear ends.

The upright front end of the new BMW X1 gives it a much greater
sense of presence, with slim LED headlights, a large, almost square
BMW kidney grille, X-shaped lines radiating out to the sides and
eye-catching chrome strips in the lower air intake serving as its
defining elements. Adaptive LED headlights with matrix high beam,
pulsating turn indicators and variable light distribution are
available as an option.

Expressively sculpted surfaces and a long roofline are the
distinguishing features of the new model’s dynamically stretched
silhouette. When viewed from the rear, the slim tailgate window,
horizontal lines, striking LED lights and flared wheel arches
produce the typical SAV look.

The robust aura of the new BMW X1 can be intensified to great
effect with the specific design elements of the xLine model, which
include stylistic underride protection. The M Sport model also
offered as an alternative to base specification places the focus
firmly on dynamic driving pleasure with features such as its large
cooling air inlets.

All model variants come as standard with 17-inch light-alloy
wheels. 18-inch light-alloy wheels are fitted on xLine and M Sport
cars, although these models are also available with 19-inch and – in
a first for the BMW X1 – 20‑inch wheels. Customers can choose from
two solid and ten metallic shades for the exterior paint finish –
including a Frozen paint option from BMW Individual for the first time.

Interior: progressive ambience, versatile space.

A raised seating position and a progressive premium ambience styled
on the BMW iX help to create a distinctive driving experience inside
the compact SAV. The key elements of the cabin’s redesign are the
slender instrument panel, the BMW Curved Display, the “floating”
armrest with integral control panel and the smartphone tray with
indirect illumination at the front of the centre console.

The newly developed seats are available with the option of both
Sensatec perforated and Vernasca leather upholstery. Also to be
found on the options list are sport seats, electric seat adjustment
with memory function and lumbar support including massage function.
Improvements have been made to both acoustic comfort and occupant
protection. The integrated passive safety concept now also includes
a new interaction airbag between the front seats.

The rear compartment of the new BMW X1 includes three full-sized
seats offering a notable improvement in seating comfort. The
40 : 20 : 40 split rear seat backrests can be folded down or
adjusted to a different angle to expand the boot capacity. The
fore-and-aft adjustment of the rear seats available as an option for
the purely combustion-engined models provides even greater
versatility. Boot capacity can be increased from 540 to a maximum of
1,600 litres. The trailer tow hitch available to order as an option
for the new BMW X1 is now operated electrically at the touch of a button.

Two-zone automatic climate control, Sport leather steering
wheel and BMW Maps as standard.

The BMW Maps navigation system, a Sport leather steering wheel,
intelligent two-zone automatic climate control and a rain sensor
with automatic headlight activation all come as standard in the new
generation of the BMW X1, as do four USB-C ports, two 12V power
sockets and a far greater number of driver assistance systems
compared with the outgoing model.

Restructured equipment packages enable targeted individualisation
of the car. The premium character can be turned up another notch by
optional features such as the mirror package, ambient lighting,
panoramic glass sunroof and Harman Kardon Sound System.

BMW iX1: a new era of driving pleasure in the compact SAV begins.

The BMW iX1 xDrive30 is the first all-wheel-drive electric car
introduced by the brand in the premium compact segment. Two highly
integrated drive units at the front and rear axles deliver a
combined output of 230 kW/313 hp (taking the temporary boost effect
into account), and post overall torque of 494 Nm (364 lb-ft). The
electric all-wheel-drive system ensures supreme traction and
directional stability in all situations. The BMW iX1 xDrive30
completes the 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) sprint in 5.7 seconds.

The fifth-generation BMW eDrive technology additionally comprises
the car’s highly efficient charging technology, including the
improved charging software also found in the BMW i7, and a
high-voltage battery positioned flat within the vehicle’s underbody,
whose high energy density gives the car a range of 413 –
438 kilometres (257 – 272 miles). (The figures relating to output,
performance, energy consumption and range for the BMW iX1 xDrive30
are predicted values based on the car’s current stage of development.)

Plug-in hybrid models with increased electric range, petrol
and diesel engines with 48V mild hybrid technology.

Fifth-generation BMW eDrive technology is also employed in the
plug-in hybrid variants of the new BMW X1, which means significant
advances over the preceding generation in terms of sporting prowess,
efficiency and charging capacity. There has also been a substantial
increase in electric range.

The new BMW X1 will be launched with a choice of conventional
combustion engines featuring two petrol and two diesel units from
the BMW Group’s new modular generation of Efficient Dynamics
engines. Second-generation 48V mild hybrid technology with an
electric motor integrated into the seven-speed Steptronic
transmission is on hand to help boost both efficiency and power
delivery in the two most powerful engines.

This enables the four-cylinder BMW X1 xDrive23i (fuel consumption
combined: 7.2 – 6.5 l/100 km [39.2 – 43.5 mpg imp]; CO2 emissions
combined: 162 – 146 g/km in WLTP cycle; figures in NEDC cycle: – )
to produce maximum output of 160 kW/218 hp (developed by the
combination of the combustion engine with up to 150 kW/204 hp and
the integral electric motor with up to 14 kW/19 hp). Also in the
launch line-up is the new BMW X1 sDrive18i (fuel consumption
combined: 7.0 – 6.3 l/100 km [40.4 – 44.8 mpg imp]; CO2 emissions
combined: 158 – 143 g/km in WLTP cycle; NEDC cycle: – ) powered by a
115 kW/156 hp three-cylinder engine.

A four-cylinder diesel engine combines with mild hybrid technology
in the new BMW X1 xDrive23d (fuel consumption combined: 5.4 – 4.8 l/
100 km [52.3 – 58.9 mpg imp]; CO2 emissions combined:142 – 125 g/km
in WLTP cycle; NEDC cycle: – ) to deliver maximum output of 155
kW/211 hp (developed by the combination of the combustion engine
with up to 145 kW/197 hp and the integral electric motor with up to
14 kW/19 hp). The four-cylinder diesel unit in the new BMW X1
sDrive18d (fuel consumption combined: 5.5 – 4.9 l/100 km [51.4 –
57.6 mpg imp]; CO2 emissions combined: 145 – 129 g/km in WLTP cycle;
NEDC cycle: – ) generates 110 kW/150 hp.

All-rounder offering optimum blend of agility and ride comfort.

Irrespective of the drive system fitted, all new BMW X1 models
offer well-resolved handling characteristics in any situation and
deliver the driving experience for which the brand is renowned. The
compact all-rounder’s sophisticated chassis technology produces a
perfectly harmonious balance between sporty, agile handling on the
one hand and long-distance comfort on the other. All the tools
required here are provided by a body construction that reduces
weight while increasing rigidity, a long wheelbase, wider tracks
than the predecessor model, and targeted upgrades to the
single-joint spring strut axle at the front and the three-link rear axle.

Near-actuator wheel slip limitation is fitted as standard in the
new BMW X1, benefiting both traction and directional stability.
Other new features include the integrated braking system and the
extra, lift-related damping at the front axle. The optional adaptive
M suspension features frequency-selective damping, sport steering
and a 15-millimetre drop in ride height.

Wide variety of systems for automated driving and parking.

The technological advances made in the new BMW X1 compared with the
outgoing model are also evident in the far greater variety of
automated driving and parking systems available to use. Standard
features include Cruise Control with brake function and the
front-collision warning system, which is now also capable of
detecting oncoming traffic when turning left (in countries where
vehicles drive on the right) and pedestrians and cyclists when
turning right. The Parking Assistant including Reversing Assist
Camera and Reversing Assistant also forms part of the standard
equipment roster.

The list of optional features, meanwhile, includes the Steering and
Lane Control Assistant, Active Cruise Control with Stop&Go
function, Active Navigation, exit warning function and BMW Head-Up
Display, as well as the Surround View, Remote 3D View, BMW Drive
Recorder and Remote Theft Recorder functions. Existing functions can
be upgraded by means of the Remote Software Upgrades facility, which
also makes it possible to add new functions (availability depends on
the hardware fitted in the vehicle and the market conditions).

Standard: BMW Operating System 8 and the new BMW iDrive.

The new BMW X1 also treats its occupants to the latest-generation
BMW iDrive multi-sensory vehicle experience in the form of the
standard-fit BMW Live Cockpit Plus. Based on BMW Operating System 8,
it comprises the BMW Curved Display with its state-of-the-art
graphics and menu structure along with the BMW Intelligent Personal
Assistant that has now gained additional skills. The fully digital
screen grouping is formed by the 10.25-inch information display and
the control display with a screen diagonal of 10.7 inches. The new
BMW iDrive is geared purposefully to providing intuitive touch and
voice control. The broad-based digitalisation of the interior
enables the number of physical buttons, controls and switches
required for operation to be significantly reduced.

The new My Modes combine individually selectable vehicle settings
with matching experience worlds for the interior. The Augmented View
function is available as an optional add-on for the cloud-based BMW
Maps navigation system. An interior camera makes it possible to take
snapshots of the occupants or have images of the interior sent to
the customer’s smartphone. In addition to this, a Personal eSIM
designed for 5G mobile technology, the BMW Digital Key Plus, the
BMW ID functionality and smartphone integration using both Apple
CarPlay® and Android Auto™ are also all available in the new BMW X1.
