More potent Competition Package for BMW M6 Coupe, BMW M6 Gran
Coupe and BMW M6 Convertible. Hitting the dynamic heights with 441
    kW/600 hp.

Munich. In July2015 BMW M GmbH will replace the
existing Competition Packagefor the BMW M6 Coupe, BMW M6 Gran Coupe
and BMW M6 Convertible with an upgraded version. The newCompetition
Packagehas been developed with a keen eye on enhancing driving
dynamics. It includes a power boost for the4.4-litre V8 petrol engine
  withM TwinPower Turbo technology(BMW M6 Coupe/BMW M6 Gran Coupe/BMW M6
  Convertible: fuel consumptioncombined: 9.9/9.9/10.3 l/100
  km[28.5/28.5/27.4 mpg imp]; CO2emissionscombined: 231/231/239 g/km)*
of 29kW/40hpover the standard unit, to441kW/600hp. Peaktorquealso
  rises, from680 Nm (501 lb-ft) in standard tuneto700 Nm(516 lb-ft), and
is available across an extremely wide rev band –between 1,500and 6,000 rpm.

New personal best for theBMW M6 Coupe: 0–200 km/h (124 mph) in
11.8 seconds. The three model variants impress with
  outstanding performancewhen fitted with thenewoptionalCompetition
Package. For example, the sprint from0 to100 km/h (62mph) is all over
in 3.9 seconds in the BMW M6 Coupe and BMW M6 Gran Coupeor 4.0 seconds
in the BMW M6 Convertible. What’s more, theBMW M6 Coupe requires just
  11.8 seconds to power from 0–200 km/h (124 mph), making it 0.6
secondsfaster to the mark than with theprevious version of the
Competition Package(423 kW/575 hp). Thetop speedof allCompetition
models is electronically limited to250 km/h (155 mph), but can be
  stoked to305 km/h (189 mph)by specifying theoptionalM Driver’s Package.

The Competition Packageincludes various measures designed to
appreciably enrich the cars’ handling. Here the same principle applies
as in the development of allBMW M cars: the chassis technology is
tuned precisely to the performance characteristics of the powertrain.
The result is maximum performance combined with assured and precisely
controllable responses at all times –even when pushing the dynamic
envelope. To this end, the springs, dampers andanti-roll barsall get
firmer tuning. The Active M Differential on the final driveworks with
its own control unit to further improve traction, allowing the driver
to accelerate even more dynamically out of tight corners, for example.
The steering with M-specific Servotronic function has more direct
mappingwhile the M Dynamic Mode of theDSC(Dynamic
StabilityControl)systemis focused even more intentlyon delivering
  sporty handling.

Externally, theBMW M6 Competition models make hearts beat faster with
  exclusive 20-inchM light-alloy wheels(double-spoke 601M, bi-colour)
and mixed tyres, plus black chrome twin tailpipesfor the sports
  exhaust system.

TheBMW M6 Coupe, BMW M6 Gran Coupe and BMW M6
ConvertiblewithCompetition Packagewill be available from July 2015.

A supreme combination of high performance and luxury: The BMW
    M6 Gran Coupe.

A third body variant of the BMW M6 high-performance sports car is set
to be presented for the first time as the BMW M6 Gran Coupe joins the
existing Coupe and Convertible models in the line-up. The new member
of the M6 family brings together customary M performance
characteristics with extra helpings of luxury and aesthetic appeal.
The high-revving V8 engine with M TwinPower Turbo technology and 412
  kW/560 hp propels the BMW M6 Gran Coupe from 0 – 100 km/h (62 mph) in
4.2 seconds. And the elegantly sporty lines of the four-door Coupe are
complemented by bespoke features, such as the carbon fibre-reinforced
plastic (CFRP) roof. The greater interior space of the BMW M6 Gran
Coupe allows two rear passengers to enjoy generous levels of on-board
comfort, and there is also a third rear seat for use on shorter journeys.

Design: the beauty of majestic power delivery.

Hallmark M design features influenced directly by technical
considerations – such as cooling air requirements, chassis geometry,
weight balance and aerodynamics – open a clear window into the
performance capability of the BMW M6 Gran Coupe. The front of the car
is dominated by its large air intakes, standard Adaptive LED
Headlights and an M kidney grille designed especially for this model.
From the side, the first four-door Coupe in the BMW M GmbH ranks is
clearly distinguishable from the BMW M6 Coupe thanks to its rear doors
and 113-millimetre longer wheelbase. The low roofline flowing smoothly
into the rear, the swage line – which takes in the door openers – and
side windows extending well into the C-pillars accentuate the
  dynamically stretched silhouette.

Prominently flared wheel arches draw the eye to a track width
specific to the BMW M6 Gran Coupe. The characteristic M gills,
aerodynamically optimised exterior mirrors, standard BMW Individual
  High-gloss Shadow Line package and exclusive 20-inch M light-alloy
wheels in double-spoke design underline the car’s distinctive
appearance, as does another M signature – twin exhaust tailpipes
positioned on the outer edges of the rear apron. Also integrated into
the rear apron, and charged with the task of optimising airflow along
the car’s underbody, is a diffuser made from CFRP.

This extremely lightweight, impressively strong high-tech material is
used in the construction of the roof as well. Here, the visible carbon
structure provides an eye-catching feature, as does a dynamic recess
in the centre of the roof. This recess is referenced stylistically
inside the car, the anthracite-coloured Alcantara roof liner gaining a
  central section in leather.

Emulating the harmonious blend of athletic prowess and elegance
embodied by the exterior design, the distinctively M cockpit fuses
sports car style with generous levels of space and a luxurious
ambience. The driver and front passenger can look forward to M sports
seats with integral belt guides. And the BMW M6 Gran Coupe’s standard
specification also includes Merino leather upholstery with extended
features. The rear compartment offers two or three seats, the
backrests of which can split and fold down in a ratio of 40 : 60 to
increase boot capacity from 460 to as much as 1,265 litres.

  V8 engine with M TwinPower Turbo technology, seven-speed M
Double Clutch Transmission with Drivelogic, Active M Differential.

The powertrain technology under the skin of the BMW M6 Gran Coupe
guarantees the performance characteristics for which M Automobiles are
renowned. The V8 engine with M TwinPower Turbo technology produces 412
kW/560 hp. Its technical wizardry includes a pair of twin-scroll
turbochargers, a cross-bank exhaust manifold, High Precision Direct
Petrol Injection, VALVETRONIC variable valve timing and Double-Vanos
continuously variable camshaft control. The 4,395 cc unit keeps peak
torque of 680 Newton metres (502 lb-ft) on tap between 1,500 and 5,750
rpm, while maximum output is developed between 6,000 and 7,000 rpm.
The engine revs to a maximum of 7,200 rpm. The BMW M6 Gran Coupe
sprints from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 4.2 seconds on the way to an
electronically governed top speed of 250 km/h/155 mph (305 km/h/189
mph if the optional M Driver’s Package is specified). Average fuel
consumption in the EU test cycle stands at 9.9 litres per 100
kilometres (28.5 mpg imp) and CO2 emissions are 232 grams per kilometre.

Taking care of power transfer is a seven-speed M Double Clutch
Transmission with Drivelogic. The transmission’s electronic management
system ensures the right gear is selected for optimum traction. It
also offers the driver a Launch Control function for maximum
acceleration, Low Speed Assistance for extra comfort and the Auto
  Start-Stop function to enhance efficiency.

Under particularly dynamic acceleration out of corners, as well as in
tricky road and weather conditions, the Active M Differential at the
rear axle distributes the engine’s power between the individual wheels
to maximum traction-enhancing effect. Its electronically controlled
multi-disc limited-slip differential works hand-in-hand with the DSC
(Dynamic Stability Control) system and splits drive between the right
and left rear wheels quickly and precisely according to the situation
  at hand.

Chassis technology developed to M specification.

The chassis technology of the BMW M6 Gran Coupe is also geared to
harnessing the car’s sporting potential in the cause of supreme
performance. Like the integral rear axle, the double-wishbone front
axle has specific kinematics and components made from forged
aluminium. Chassis mountings using large panels ensure dynamic forces
are passed evenly through to the body. The BMW M6 Gran Coupe comes as
standard with an M-specific version of the Dynamic Damper Control
system and hydraulic variable-ratio rack-and-pinion steering with the
  M Servotronic function.

As an alternative to the standard high-performance compound braking
system, the BMW M6 Gran Coupe can also be ordered with M
carbon-ceramic brakes. Made from a new type of carbon-fibre compound
ceramic, the discs boast even greater resistance to heat, lower weight
  and exceptional resistance to wear.

Arranged around the gearshift lever on the centre console of the BMW
M6 Gran Coupe are the buttons used to configure all the adjustable
powertrain and chassis functions to personal tastes. The DSC mode,
engine performance characteristics, Dynamic Damper Control mapping, M
Servotronic responses and M DCT Drivelogic shift program can be
selected independently of each other. All of which means the driver
can put together a detailed set-up and store those settings on one of
the two M Drive buttons on the multifunction steering wheel.

Exclusive and individual: high-quality range of equipment.

The standard equipment fitted on the BMW M6 Gran Coupe includes
20-inch M light-alloy wheels, leather trim, heated driver and front
passenger seats, automatically dimming rear-view and exterior mirrors,
an alarm system and the BMW Professional radio with hi-fi
loudspeakers. Available as an alternative to the standard 2-zone
automatic climate control is a 4-zone system with a control panel in
the rear compartment. Among the other highlights of the options list
are M multifunction seats, heated rear seats, Comfort Access, a heated
steering wheel, the Soft Close Automatic function for the doors,
electrically operated sun blinds, the new generation of the
Professional navigation system and a Bang & Olufsen High End
  Surround Sound System.

The BMW M6 Gran Coupe also comes with a variety of BMW ConnectedDrive
features, such as an M-specific BMW Head-Up Display, Park Distance
Control, a rear-view camera, High Beam Assistant, Speed Limit Info,
Lane Change Warning, Lane Departure Warning, Surround View and BMW
Night Vision with pedestrian recognition. Customers can also integrate
their Apple iPhone or other smartphones into the car and make use of
  internet-based services while on board.

Singapore. BMW Asia has announced the launch of the
new BMW M6 Convertible, which will be retailing exclusively at Munich
Automobiles Pte Ltd – the world’s first dedicated BMW M dealer and
  authorized BMW service centre.

“Just two months after its Asian sneak preview at the Singapore Yacht
Show 2012, the much-anticipated new BMW M6 Convertible has officially
arrived at our shores. This latest rendition offers not only a
high-performance sports car with superior performance attributes, but
one with an extremely exclusive character as well,” said Mr Neil
Fiorentinos, Managing Director of BMW Group Asia.

The new BMW M6 Convertible now comes with a high-revving V8 engine
with BMW M TwinPower Turbo technology that can generate up to 560hp
(+10%) and up to 680Nm (+30%) of torque, and the ability to complete
the century sprint in just 4.3 seconds.

The new BMW M6 Convertible further sports classical proportions,
bearing sporty yet elegant lines of the new BMW 6 Series and the
familiar design language of BMW M Automobiles form the foundations for
its eloquent body design. Powerfully taut surfaces and precise
contours underline the athletic aura of the new model. Additionally, a
model-specific interpretation of hallmark BMW M styling cues includes
design details which are influenced directly by technical
considerations – such as the cooling air required, chassis geometry
and aerodynamics – and therefore further highlight the car’s
outstanding performance attributes. This is a fine example of how the
ultra-dynamic character which marks out this most focused version of
the exclusive convertible is accurately expressed through its design.

The exclusive looks of the new BMW M6 Convertible is further
underlined by the “fin” architecture of the high-quality soft-top
roof. Projecting into the rear section, the fins accentuate the car’s
dynamically sweeping silhouette. The heated, vertical glass rear
window, which is situated just behind the rear seats, retracts
independently of the soft-top itself. The automatic opening and
closing process for the roof can be activated both at a standstill and
while on the move at speeds of up to 40km/h using a button on the
centre console. The optional Comfort Access, meanwhile, allows the
roof to be opened (in 19 seconds) or closed (in 24 seconds) by
pressing the remote control button on the car key.

Another attribute unmatched by any rival is the leap forward in
efficiency as the new BMW M6 Convertible records average fuel
consumption of 10.3 litres / 100km and CO2 emissions of 239 grams per
kilometers in the EU test cycle, which effectively translates to a 30
percent reduction compared to its predecessor thanks to the Efficient
Dynamics technology, such as the standard-fitted Auto Start-Stop
function, Brake Energy Regeneration and the volume-controlled oil pump.

“With top-class performance attributes and an ambience defined by
luxury and innovative comfort features, this work of art exudes a high
level of self-confidence that is unrivalled in the premium segment of
its class, whilst maintaining an everyday usability at the same time,”
  concluded Mr Fiorentinos.

The engine: high-revving V8 with M TwinPower Turbo technology

The new BMW M6 Convertible showcases its individual style with unique
styling touches and tweaks to the character of the driving experience.
But it draws the output required to serve up its inspirational
performance from the same source: a high-revving V8 engine with BMW M
TwinPower Turbo technology, longitudinally mounted at the front of the
car, whose power is channelled to the rear wheels via a seven-speed M
Double Clutch Transmission with Drivelogic. This powertrain combines
construction features taken directly from motor sport with innovations
developed under the banner of Efficient Dynamics. Its globally
unparalleled package of technology comprises two turbochargers working
according to the twin-scroll principle (including a cross-bank exhaust
manifold), High Precision Direct Petrol Injection, VALVETRONIC
variable valve timing and Double-Vanos continuously variable camshaft
control. The engine is also served by an extremely powerful cooling
system and a wet sump oil supply optimised to work under high lateral forces.

The unmistakable, typically M performance characteristics of the
4.4-litre powerplant are defined by its lightning-quick responses and
forceful, linear power delivery maintained into the higher reaches of
the rev range. Indeed, peak torque of 680 Newton metres is on tap
between 1,500 and 5,750 rpm. The V8 achieves its maximum output of 560
hp between 6,000 and 7,000 rpm and can spin on to 7,200 rpm. All of
which means the rev band available in the new models to generate
maximum performance is almost three times wider than that of the
  engine powering its predecessor.

This instantaneous and sustained power delivery is the key to
unlocking the car’s intoxicating acceleration. The new BMW M6
Convertible is able to dash from rest to 100km/h in 4.3 seconds, with
a top speed that is electronically limited to 250 km/h. However, the
optional M Driver’s Package will help raise this barrier to 305 km/h.

The seven-speed M Double Clutch Transmission with Drivelogic:

Harnessing the high output to dynamic effect.

Tuned seamlessly to the performance characteristics of the V8 engine,
the M Double Clutch Transmission with Drivelogic converts the
powerplant’s impressive thrust extremely effectively into rapid
acceleration. This capability is underpinned by the DCT design
principle, which effectively combines two gearboxes in-one housing –
yet with virtually no size or weight penalty over a conventional
manual transmission. Inside the transmission, the torque is
transferred via two oil-cooled wet clutches, which are engaged
alternately. This allows zero interruption in the flow of power when
the driver accelerates, even during gear changes.

M DCT Drivelogic offers the driver three different shift programs,
both in automated mode (D) and manual mode (S). These programs alter
the transmission’s shift characteristics in terms of efficiency, shift
comfort and sportiness and can be activated using the rocker switch
located behind the selector lever on the centre console. Added to
which, the electronics also provide a Launch Control function ensuring
unbeatable acceleration from a standing start, Low Speed Assistance
for easier low-speed operation and the Auto Start-Stop function for
  increased efficiency.

The special M gear selector is used for selecting D and S modes and
for engaging reverse gear. In S mode the driver changes gears manually
in a sequential format. The new BMW M6 Convertible is also equipped as
standard with a newly developed M leather steering wheel, complete
with multifunction buttons and fixed gearshift paddles. In typical M
configuration, the driver pulls the right-hand paddle to shift up and
the left-hand paddle to shift down. The model-specific steering wheel
stands out with its smaller rim diameter and a design which borrows
from the double-spoke construction of the M light-alloy wheels.

Active M Differential delivers outstanding traction in dynamic
    driving situations.

The new BMW M6 Convertible also impresses by offering optimum
traction in tricky road and weather conditions and under dynamic
acceleration out of corners. Working behind the scenes to this end is
an innovative variable locking differential in the rear differential.
The Active M Differential allows the engine’s power to be split
precisely and quickly between the left and right rear wheel according
to the requirements of the driving situation at any particular moment.

An electronically controlled multi-plate limited-slip differential
helps to reduce the rotational speed differences between the rear
wheels, which is needed to optimise traction. The Active M
Differential control unit is linked up to the DSC stability control
system, allowing every driving situation to be precisely analysed and
a loss of traction at one wheel to be detected at an early stage. The
locking effect generated in response can be varied between 0 and 100
per cent, enabling wheel spin to be prevented on slippery surfaces, in
instances where the left and right rear wheel have widely differing
friction coefficients, in tight bends and when changing direction
extremely dynamically. Optimising traction in this way also provides
unbeatable driving stability in challenging conditions and allows
impressively dynamic acceleration out of corners.

M-specific chassis technology, Dynamic Damper Control, M
Servotronic, DSC with M Dynamic Mode.

The chassis of the new BMW M6 Convertible has been developed to M
specification and therefore combines outstanding performance
attributes with the comfort-enhancing features drivers appreciate on
an everyday basis. Like the integral rear axle, whose subframes are
bolted rigidly to the body, the double-wishbone front axle boasts
specific kinematics and newly developed components made from forged
aluminium. Chassis mountings using large panels at the front and rear
axle ensure dynamic forces are passed evenly through to the body.
Through enthusiastically driven corners, this helps to noticeably
reduce the roll movements triggered by bumps in the road surface. Both
the construction of the chassis and its bespoke tuning for the BMW M6
Convertible has been defined by extensive expertise from the race
track and optimised during extensive testing on the Nürburgring’s
  Nordschleife circuit.

The standard equipment of the convertible also includes
electronically controlled dampers. The M-specific Dynamic Damper
Control system adjusts damping force electrohydraulically to provide
the required responses for the driving situation at hand and fulfil
the wishes of the driver. A choice of three settings allows drivers to
adjust the damper characteristics to their needs and preferences.

The hydraulic rack-and-pinion steering ensures unbeatable precision
and a high degree of comfort. This system has a variable ratio, which
enhances straightline stability and reduces the number of steering
wheel turns required when parking and turning off a road. The likewise
standard Servotronic speed-sensitive power assistance is specially
tuned to M specification and allows drivers to choose a personal
configuration with the help of three set-up options.

In addition to applying brake impulses and reducing engine output to
stabilise the car, the DSC stability control system of the two
high-performance sports cars also employs the services of the
Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Cornering Brake Control (CBC), Dynamic
Brake Control (DBC), Brake Assistant, the Brake Drying function and
Start-Off Assistant. M Dynamic Mode (MDM) can be activated to override
the basic setting by pressing the DSC button. By raising the
intervention thresholds of DSC, this mode makes it easier to move off
on snow or loose sand with slightly spinning driven wheels. MDM mode
also paves the way for the familiar M self-steering response. “DSC
Off” mode can likewise be activated at the touch of a button.

Lightweight design across the board, flawless occupant
    protection.

An intelligent blend of materials also gives the body structure
impressive strength coupled with extremely low weight, allowing it to
enhance both occupant protection and handling agility. In the case of
the BMW M6 Convertible, its roof cover is made from the glass-fibre
composite material SMC (Sheet Moulding Compound). A weight-to-power
ratio of 3.5 kg/hp for the new BMW M6 Convertible points to the
significant advance that has also been made in this area over the
  predecessor model.

Robust load-path structures, large and precisely defined deformation
zones and highly efficient restraint systems provide the basis for a
high level of passive safety in the model. The safety equipment fitted
as standard includes front airbags and head-thorax side airbags
integrated into the seat frames of the new BMW M6 Convertible. The
soft-top model also benefits from roll-over bars made from
high-strength aluminium. Positioned behind the rear head restraints,
these protective bars extend automatically in fractions of a second
should there be a danger of the car rolling over. It also comes with
three-point inertial-reel seat belts on all seats, belt force limiters
and belt tensioners for the front seats and ISOFIX child seat
  attachments in the rear.

The new BMW M6 Convertible is designed as a four-seater, and space in
the rear compartment has increased substantially compared with its
predecessor model. The load capacity of the new BMW M6 Convertible can
carry 300 litres of luggage in the boot with the soft-top down and 350
  litres with it closed.

M-specific cockpit design: flawless car control,
    made-to-measure luxury.

Newly developed M sports seats offer the driver and front passenger
optimum lateral support through quickly-taken corners, but also a high
level of comfort over long distances. The lightweight seats with
integrated belt system have an M-specific design headlined by
extremely prominent cushion and backrest bolsters, head restraints
integrated into the backrests, eye-catching stitching emphasising the
segments of the seats, and an M logo embossed into the shoulder area.
The M sports seats have electric height, fore/aft and backrest angle
adjustment, and also come with pneumatically adjustable lumbar
support, a memory function and a manually adjustable thigh support.
The M sports seats are fitted with active head restraints to reduce
the risk of injury in a rear-end impact.

The luxurious interior ambience of the two cars is characterised by
classy materials and dynamically moulded surfaces, and the bespoke
design of the cockpit and centre console – cleverly drawing on the
exclusive, high-performance sports car driving experience – lends it
an extra individual flair. The instrument cluster with black-panel
technology features classical circular instruments in traditional BMW
M style, with red needles and white illumination, as well as
model-specific displays and the M logo in the rev counter. The
standard-fitted control system iDrive includes an on-board monitor
with an exclusive flatscreen design, while the optional Navigation
system Professional brings with it a 10.2-inch version of the Control
Display bordered by a high-quality, galvanised chrome frame.

Arranged around the gearshift lever on the centre console designed
specially for the new BMW M6 Convertible is the buttons allowing
drivers to select their preferred settings for all the adjustable
powertrain and chassis functions. The DSC mode, performance
characteristics of the engine, Dynamic Damper Control mapping, M
Servotronic responses and M DCT Drivelogic shift program can all be
adjusted independently at the touch of a button. This allows drivers
to put together a detailed set-up configuration for their car and
store it by holding down one of the two M Drive buttons on the
multifunction steering wheel. The two standard-fitted M Drive buttons
allow the driver of the new BMW M6 Convertible to store a dynamic-led
configuration under the “M1” button, for example, and a comfort-biased
set-up under “M2” – and to call up either in an instant and at any
time. The settings stored on the M Drive buttons can also be
  configured using the iDrive menu.

As with the car’s performance characteristic, the aural profile of
the engine can also be tweaked at the touch of a button. A sound
module is used to enhance the engine’s natural acoustic components and
this soundtrack is then transported into the interior. The system’s
digital signal processing technology exchanges data directly with the
engine management and adjusts its output to the engine’s revs, the
amount of torque being produced and the car’s speed over the road.
This gives the driver an impressively accurate impression of how hard
the engine is currently working and of the power being unleashed, and
provides an even clearer window into the car’s response on the road.

High-quality standard equipment, exclusive options: M-specific
    Head-Up Display, M multifunction seats, Bang & Olufsen High-End
    Surround Sound System.

The exclusive character of the high-performance sports car is
underlined by the high-quality and extensive array of standard
equipment it has on board – not to mention an unrivalled selection of
high-tech options lending further depth to the driving experience.
Standard equipment for the convertible include 2-zone automatic
climate control, heated seats for the driver and front passenger,
fine-grain Merino leather trim with extended contents, an M driver’s
footrest, exclusive carbon-fibre interior trim finishes, door sill
strips with illuminated “M6” designation, plus ambient light in the
interior, an automatically dimming rear-view mirror and exterior
mirrors (the exterior mirrors also have a folding function), Cruise
Control with braking function, an alarm system and Navigation System
Professional and Bang & Olufsen High-End Surround Sound System.

This Bang & Olufsen audio system brings high performance into the
world of in-car sound reproduction. The fully active system with
digital signal processing comes with individual amplifiers for all the
bass speakers, mid-range speakers and tweeters. Its centre speaker
uses the Acoustic Lens Technology developed by Bang & Olufsen. As
soon as the audio system is activated, the central element containing
the integrated mid-range speaker pops up from the instrument panel,
prompting the tweeter lens to extend out at the same time. With a
total of 12 loudspeakers in the new BMW M6 Convertible, it’s set to
deliver a uniquely rich and dynamic sound experience.

Other features in the BMW M6 Convertible include; the M
multifunctional seats for driver & front passenger, Adaptive LED
headlights, 20-inch M alloy wheels double-spoke 343M with mixed tyres,
and soft-close function for the doors.

The range of optional driver assistance systems and mobility services
available from BMW ConnectedDrive add unique touches to the new model.
The M-specific version of the full-colour Head-Up Display – which,
alongside a digital speed readout and tips from the optional Speed
Limit Info also shows the gear currently engaged and a multicolour rev
counter symbol, complete with Shift Lights – is joined in the line-up
by features including Park Distance Control, a rear-view camera, High
Beam Assistance. Added to which, innovative technologies optimise the
integration of the Apple iPhone and other smartphones, as well as
music players, and incorporate the use of internet-based services.

this high-performance car in his artwork. The white BMW X5 M is
blended into his drawings spreading from the wall into the
floor. Eko Nugroho’s art works have garnered acclaim in the
international art community in showings in Europe, USA, Australia and Asia.

The artwork of Eko creates a unique artistic appearance of BMW
Studio that attracts the visitors of this high-end shopping mall. The
display of the artwork is intended to nurture public appreciation of
  Indonesian modern contemporary art.

“We are pleased to present the preview of the new BMW X5 M
in collaboration with Eko Nugroho,” said Mr. Divyanathan.
“BMW Group has involved in art for more than 30 years, including
the highly appreciated BMW Art Cars collection. It is great to
extend this cultural engagement to Indonesia and to work with local
talented artists to promote their artworks. It is part of BMW
Indonesia’s corporate social responsibility to promote
  Indonesian art and culture.”

Press Contact: Daniel Chan
Tel: +65-6838-9639
E-mail: daniel.chan@bmwasia.com

Press Release,M6,X5 M,Product,BMW M

This makes BMW's large Coupé in the guise of the
M6 one of the most beautiful cars in the world and at the same time the
most sophisticated and powerful 6 Series there has ever been: five
litres engine capacity, 10 cylinders, 507 bhp (373 kW), 520
Newton-metres (383 lb-ft) maximum torque, and engine speed beyond the
8,000 rpm limit. Together with the outstanding, uncompromising
suspension designed and built exclusively for sporting performance,
this supreme power unit gives the BMW M6 all the qualities of a
thoroughbred supersports. But unlike its competitors usually offering
only two seats, the BMW M6 comes with all the space and comfort of a
typical 2+2-seater, plus the luxurious features of a typical luxury
performance BMW. The success principle: True power in a discreet
package. The BMW M6 shares its supreme power unit with the BMW M5. Ever
since being introduced in the M5, this engine has been acknowledged as
the absolute benchmark, just as the M5 is the very epitome of the
Sports Saloon. Now, introducing even more superior performance data,
the BMW M6 sets a new standard in the segment of high-performance
2+2-seater luxury sports cars. Creating this unique model, the
engineers at BMW M GmbH have focused not only on the sheer power of the
engine, but also on the weight of the body and, as a result, the mass
to be accelerated as quickly as possible on the road. Reducing weight to
a sensible minimum, the M6 comes with all the driving dynamics required
for the race track, while in terms of motoring comfort and equipment it
is simply ideal for all roads the world over. Not least, the body
design of the BMW M6 modified only discreetly versus the elegant look
of the BMW Coupé comes with all the understatement so
characteristic of all M Models as their elementary feature. Interacting
with the seven-speed SMG transmission, the magnificent chassis and
suspension, the elegant body in innovative lightweight technology, as
well as the wide range of luxury equipment, the ten-cylinder high-speed
engine gives the customer a brand-new dimension in motoring
performance. It is indeed difficult to find any genuine competitors to
the M6, since all other more or less comparable cars are either all-out
supersports or sports saloons far inferior in terms of agility. So
given the car's innovative drive concept, a power-to-weight ratio even
better than on the M5, as well as unique handling and all this with all
the everyday driving qualities of a large coupé - the engineers
at BMW M GmbH rightly claim that the new BMW M6 truly comes in a class
of its own. V10 power unit running at racing speeds. Sharing BMW's V10
power unit, the M5 and M6 come with one of the rare high-speed engines
in regular saloon and coupé production. Within the entire BMW
family, the V10 is indeed the most demanding engine in technical terms
and, without doubt, the top performer in every respect. Power and
performance, however, are not everything. Rather, what really counts is
a car's acceleration and driving dynamics on the road. And this depends,
first, on the weight of a car and, second, on the thrust and power which
actually goes to the drive wheels - which, in turn, is a result of
engine torque and the overall transmission ratio. BMW's high-speed
engine concept allows an optimum gearbox and final drive transmission
ratio in all cases, thus guaranteeing impressive thrust and momentum on
the road at all times. The perfect choice: High-revving concept. A
compact, high-revving normal-aspiration engine is the best of all
strategies in generating maximum engine output: Revving up to speed of
8,250 rpm, the V10 reaches a speed range reserved until recently to
purebred racing cars alone. As a result, the engine easily outperforms
the magical limit of 100 bhp per litre, again achieving specific output
of a standard otherwise only found in motorsport. The two five-cylinder
banks in the V10 are arranged at an angle of 90° in order to
optimise the standard of vibration control and motoring comfort offered
by full mass compensation on the crankdrive. Taking the substantial
forces of the combustion process, high engine speeds and vibrations
into account, the crankcase comes in bedplate design. The extremely
stiff crankshaft, in turn, runs in six bearings. Variable dual-VANOS
camshaft control ensures an optimum cylinder charge cycle in the
interest of extremely fast valve timing. On the road this means even
more performance, an improved torque curve, optimum responsiveness,
lower fuel consumption, and emissions reduced to a minimum. Again
reflecting the typical features of motorsport, each cylinder comes with
its own throttle butterfly masterminded fully electronically for each
row of cylinders. Twin-chamber exhaust system made of stainless steel.
Made of stainless steel without any connecting seams, the exhaust system
comes in twin-chamber configuration all the way to the silencers,
before exhaust emissions leave the car through the four tailpipes so
characteristic of every BMW M Car. It almost goes without saying that
exhaust emissions meet the European EU4 and, respectively, the US LEV2
standards, the M6 standing out from the M5 also through its even more
powerful and sporting sound. This outstanding performance and emission
management is ensured and masterminded by the central engine management
unit featuring the most powerful processors currently to be found in
any car anywhere, since the demands made of the management system are
obviously particularly stringent due to the very high engine speed and
the sum total of all control and management functions. A particular
highlight of the engine control unit is ionic current technology
serving to detect any tendency of the engine to knock, misfire and
suffer mis-combustion. This intelligent control unit is able to sense
any tendency to knock via the spark plug in each cylinder, checking the
correct ignition setting and recognising any tendency to misfire and
thus allowing the engine to run as closely as possible to its
theoretical limits, developing optimum power and performance in the
process. The spark plug serves both as an actuator for the ignition and
as a sensor observing the combustion process. Seven-speed SMG
transmission conveying M Power to the road. To develop all its qualities
and assets, a high-speed power unit must be combined with the right
transmission. This is the only way, given the right transmission
ratios, for the drivetrain to develop all the power and torque provided
by the engine in giving the car optimum thrust and forward motion. BMW's
seven-speed SMG transmission is precisely the right manual gearbox for
conveying the power of the V10 via the drivetrain to the rear wheels.
This gearbox from BMW M is indeed the world's only sequential
transmission with seven gears and Drivelogic. With qualities even
greater than on a six-speed SMG gearbox, this transmission allows
manual selection of gears with extremely short gearshift times as well
as comfortable cruising qualities thanks to the automatic gear
selection function. And at the same time the additional gear keeps the
increments between engine speed and torque even smaller, ensuring an
absolutely smooth process of one gear flowing into the other. The driver
shifts gears in the SMG transmission either from the selector lever or
via paddles in the steering wheel. Compared with conventional SMG
transmission, the new generation of SMG technology performs the entire
gearshift process 20 per cent faster, gears merging directly into one
another. As a result, any interruption of the flow of power inevitable
when shifting gears now becomes hardly perceptible, the BMW M6
accelerating virtually without the slightest jolt or interruption from
a standstill all the way to top speed. Drivelogic: The driver
determines how SMG shifts gears. Featuring its special Drivelogic
function, SMG on the BMW M6 offers the driver a total of 11 gearshift
options allowing him to individually adjust the gearshift
characteristics of the SMG transmission to his personal style of
motoring.Six of these driving programs come in the sequential manual
function (S-mode), ranging from smooth but dynamic all the way to
supersports. Driving in the S-mode, the driver shifts all gears
manually. But thanks to the launch control function SMG Drivelogic
shifts gears automatically shortly before the engine reaches its
maximum speed, ensuring an optimum gearshift process with optimum spin
control all the way to the top speed of the BMW M6. In the automatic
shift mode (Drive = D-mode), the transmission shifts the seven gears
automatically as a function of the driving program currently in use,
the driving situation, road speed, and the position of the gas pedal.
SMG for even greater safety and motoring comfort.Seven-speed SMG
supports the driver not only in achieving and enjoying the highest
standard of performance comparable to genuine motorsport. Rather, it
also comes with many safety features opening up the clutch within
fractions of a second in a critical situation for example when
shifting down on a slippery surface in order to keep the car stable and
free of excessive engine forces acting on the drive wheels. A further
special function is hill detection adjusting the gearshift points on
uphill and downhill gradients. Driving uphill, this avoids the common
phenomenon of the gears constantly shifting up and down (pendulum
gearshift), driving downhill the hill detection mode holds lower gears
in mesh longer than usual in order to capitalise on the engine's
braking effect. Last but not least, SMG also enhances the particular
sound effect of the V10 power unit: To quote a specialist commenting on
this special sound, that 'brief, roaring rumble' is simply fantastic
when the electronic control unit responsible for the engine briefly
gives intermediate gas in the process of shifting down. Maximum
driving pleasure. Interaction of the V10 power unit and seven-speed SMG
gives the driver of the BMW M6 Coupé driving pleasure of the
highest calibre: Acceleration from 0?100 km/h comes in 4.6 seconds and
the M6 reaches 200 km/h or 124 mph in just about 14 seconds. Then, at a
speed of 250 km/h or 155 mph, the electronic speed governor ends the
car's irresistible surge of power, while the speedometer gives you an
idea where the engine would take you without such electronic speed
control: the speedometer goes all the way to 330 km/h or 205 mph.
Lapping the Northern Circuit of Nürburgring in 8 minutes. The
world-famous Nordschleife, the Northern Circuit of the legendary
Nürburgring Race Track, is the perfect benchmark for measuring
driving dynamics. For it is here, on the world's most demanding race
track, that the exceptional stand out from the mediocre in terms of
supreme driving dynamics. Nowhere else is the interaction of all a
car's components as clear as here, when driving to the absolute limit.
Lapping the Northern Circuit in around 8 minutes, the BMW M6 easily
matches the most thoroughbred sports cars, clearly beating the
competition. M Suspension: The icing on the cake of the BMW 6 Series.
Lap times of this kind clearly bear testimony to the M6 driving
qualities. Which is actually no surprise, considering that the chassis
and suspension already outstanding on the BMW 6 Series as such, as well
as the modern assistance systems, have been specially adapted on the M6
for truly unparalleled M Performance. Compared with the M5, in turn,
the wheelbase is shorter and the car comes with a lower centre of
gravity for extra agility on the road. In terms of both chassis
equipment and set-up, the M6 is therefore a unique car in every
respect. Variable M Differential Lock. The variable, speed-sensing M
Differential Lock gives the M6 superior driving stability and optimum
traction particularly when accelerating out of a bend. Even in very
demanding driving situations, the differential offers crucial
advantages in terms of traction, for example with the drive wheels
running on very different surfaces with a wide range of different
frictional coefficients. A further advantage is the locking action
immediately built up when necessary to compensate any difference in
speed between the drive wheels, thus ensuring smooth and powerful drive
forces at all times. DSC with two dynamic driving programs available on
demand. The BMW M6 boasts a brand-new generation of DSC Dynamic
Stability Control. With the first stage of DSC being conceived for
maximum driving safety, the M Dynamic mode, as on the M5, is tailored
to the sporting driver. And pressing a button on the selector lever
cover, the driver is able to switch off DSC whenever he wishes. EDC:
From firm and taut all the way to comfortable and extra-smooth. EDC
Electronic Damper Control on the BMW M6 offers the driver the choice of
three programs available on demand: Comfort, Normal, and Sports, with
the car's chassis and suspension ranging from sporting and firm all the
way to relatively smooth and comfortable. The driver operates EDC via
the MDrive button on the steering wheel or the push button next to the
SMG selector lever.Power button activating special engine
characteristics on demand. In many situations the driver does not need
all the power and agility of the BMW M6 for example in city traffic. So
when the driver starts the engine, the BMW M6 automatically sets off in
its comfort-oriented P400 performance program with 400 bhp engine
output. But then all the driver has to do is press the power button on
the selector lever cover in order to use all the muscle and dynamic
performance of the supreme ten-cylinder. This also changes the response
of the engine, making it even more direct and responsive, both the P400
program and the even more dynamic P500 sports program giving free rein
to the driver's wish for uncompromising motorsport performance.
High-performance brakes like in motorsport. Reflecting its truly
outstanding power and performance, the BMW M6 naturally features
extra-large high-performance brakes complete with cross-drilled
extra-low-weight compound brake discs. The double-piston swing callipers
made of aluminium, in turn, optimised for both weight and stiffness,
ensure stopping distances shorter than ever before: Applying the brakes
from a speed of 100 km/h, the driver of the BMW M6 comes to a
standstill after just 36 metres and takes less than 140 metres to reach
a stop from a speed of 200 km/h (124 mph). High-performance athlete in a
beautiful body. With the BMW 6 Series already acknowledged as a
strikingly beautiful car, the M6 enhances this impression to an even
higher standard, special design features making this unique Coupé
look even more powerful and dynamic, while remaining discreet and
unpretentious all the same. The most eye-catching feature is the truly
impressive front air dam. And like all design features on a BMW M Car,
this particular element focuses once again primarily on its specific
function: The V10 power unit requires roughly twice as much cooling air
as the V8 in the BMW 645Ci. Large secondary intake openings to the left
and right of the front air dam thus give the engine of the M6 even more
air to breathe and cool the brakes at the same time. Through their
design alone, finally, these air openings accentuate the sporting
character of the car. Lightweight engineering and beautiful design in
perfect harmony. Beneath the doors the side-sills powerfully contoured
for aerodynamic reasons again emphasise the dynamic impression of this
sports coupé. At the same time the side-sills stretch the car
for an even sleeker look, making the BMW M6 even lower and more dynamic
in its appearance. The 19-inch forged aluminium wheels developed
especially for the M6, together with their five filigree double spokes,
are extremely light and provide a very good view of the large brake
discs. Compared with comparable wheels, the weight saving is 1.8 kilos
per wheel. The M model logo in the ornamental slats at the side tells
the connoisseur right away that this car is one of the outstanding
athletes within the BMW M Family. And like on all M Models, the
exterior mirrors come in their very own, sporting look. The rear air
dam with its characteristic diffuser opening again serves first and
foremost to provide an aerodynamic function. But at the same time it
adds an even more sporting look to the car, the particular design of
the diffuser improving the flow of air along the underfloor and reducing
lift forces. The four tailpipes on the twin-chamber exhaust system
bordering the diffuser opening in pairs on either side are one of the
signs of distinction so typical of a BMW M Car. First-ever carbon roof
in series production. The first car to feature a roof made of carbon was
the BMW M3 CSL. Now, following that special model built in small,
strictly limited series, BMW M GmbH is introducing a carbon roof on the
M6 Coupé, thus raising this concept of intelligent lightweight
technology to a new dimension in series production. Offering the same
stability and crash safety as a steel roof, this carbon- fibre material
derived from motorsport is significantly lighter than aluminium, let
alone steel. The result is a significant reduction in weight and mass
lowering the car's centre of gravity and requiring less forces for
acceleration or coming to a stop. Inside, the M6 stands out from the
'basic' model also through its even more sophisticated Merino leather
upholstery with a choice of three different colours or at extra cost
with full leather upholstery leaving absolutely nothing to be desired.
A sports car for everyday motoring. Despite its simply shuttering
performance, the BMW M6 does not make any compromises in terms of
adequate roominess as well as active and passive safety of the highest
standard. Even the level of motoring comfort is virtually the same as
in the 'regular' model. And when it comes to both fuel economy and
environmental compatibility, the M6 again lives up the exemplary
standard of all BMWs. This is the short version of the press kit.
