  <strong>Singapore. </strong>
<a name="_Hlk98943977"></a>BMW Group Asia announced the availability
of the new BMW X5 and BMW X6, the extensively updated editions of its
successful Sports Activity Vehicle (SAV) and Sports Activity Coupé
(SAC) respectively for the luxury segment.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>The new BMW X5 and BMW X6 emphasise their inherent poise and
assurance with detailed design revisions and additions to their
standard specification. Also leading the way are the new systems for
driving assistance, automated parking and the fully digital iDrive
control/operation system with BMW Curved Display based on BMW
  Operating System 8.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>The update provides the new BMW X5 with everything it needs to
maintain worldwide market leadership in its segment and enable the new
BMW X6 to secure its position as number one ahead of competitors from
other premium German manufacturers. The two models are built at BMW
Group Plant Spartanburg in the USA, the competence centre for BMW X models.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>
  <strong>The new BMW X5: slim headlights.</strong></p>
<p>The M Sport design elements as standard give the new BMW X5
significantly greater presence and visual robustness. Its front end is
shaped by the fresh interpretation of the hallmark BMW headlights and
kidney grille. The new headlight units now have a 35-millimetre
slimmer outline. Their arrow-shaped daytime driving light elements
point outwards and also serve as turn signal indicators. Matrix LED
headlights with adaptive control and BMW Selective Beam non-dazzling
  high beam come as standard.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>The precisely updated design of the new BMW X5 also spans newly
designed air breathers in the front side panels, vertical air curtains
and lower air intake, complete with decorative trim detail in Black High-gloss.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>The sculptural fibre-optic light guide elements for the rear lights
and brake lights now have particularly striking contouring. The L
shape familiar from other BMW models is reflected horizontally,
creating a consistently illuminated X motif within the rear lights.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>
  <strong>The new BMW X6: Pitch-perfect athleticism.</strong></p>
<p>The new BMW X6 also has slim headlight units with arrow-shaped
daytime driving light elements. The dynamic character of the new BMW
X6 is highlighted even more intently with the standard M Sport
package. Playing a key role here is the octagonal frontend signature
below the BMW kidney grille, with its striking side apertures and
generous use of black surfaces. In addition, the three-dimensional
sculpting of the front apron underscores the car’s width and brawny stature.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>M-specific side skirts and M High-gloss Shadowline trim are also part
of the M Sport package. The rear apron of the SAC has an insert in
Dark Shadow, while the new exhaust tailpipe trims are trapezoidal in shape.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>
<strong>Modern cockpit design with all-digital BMW Curved Display.</strong></p>
<p>Digital technology is the guiding force behind the advances brought
to the interior of the new BMW X5 and BMW X6. The integration of BMW
Operating System 8 and the latest generation of the iDrive
control/operation system also heralds the arrival of the BMW Curved
Display in the Sports Activity Vehicle and Sports Activity Coupé. It
is made up of a 12.3-inch information display behind the steering
wheel and a control display with a screen diagonal of 14.9 inches –
both located behind a single glass surface. The touch control
functionality of the control display has brought about a significant
reduction in the number of buttons and switches in favour of digital
control for numerous functions. The innovative cockpit and associated
updates to the instrument panel bring a particularly progressive feel
  to the modern premium ambience.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>Standard specification for both models includes sports seats, an
instrument panel with surfacing in leather-like Sensafin and a curving
trim element in fine wood (BMW X5) or carbon fibre (BMW X6). Another
new feature is the ambient light bar with highly effective LED
backlighting integrated below the trim element in the front passenger
area. The relevant model lettering – “X5” or “X6” – is added to the
light bar’s graphic. The control panel on the centre console includes
additional touch-sensitive surfaces and a newly designed gear selector
lever. The newly designed Travel & Comfort System also comes as standard.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>
<strong>New engine, new eight-speed Steptronic Sport transmission and
    systematic electrification.</strong></p>
<p>The new BMW X5 and BMW X6 come as standard with a six-cylinder
in-line petrol engine from the latest generation of power units. The
engine now links up with the likewise new eight-speed Steptronic Sport
transmission, complete with gearshift paddles on the steering wheel.
It sends its power to the road – or indeed unpaved surfaces, as the
need arises – via the BMW xDrive intelligent all-wheel-drive system.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>The drive unit now features 48V mild hybrid technology. This
application of electrification comes in the form of an electric motor
integrated into the transmission. This motor generates an output boost
of up to 9 kW/12 hp and 200 Nm of torque, helping the combustion
engine to deliver a smooth, dynamic drive along with high efficiency.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>
  <strong>Latest-generation six-cylinder in-line petrol engine.</strong></p>
<p>Innovations affecting the combustion process, gas exchange, valve
control, injection and ignition system mark out the latest-generation
3.0-litre six-cylinder in-line petrol engine at work in the new BMW X5
  xDrive40i and BMW X6 xDrive40i.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>The new engine develops maximum output increased by 47 hp over the
outgoing model to 381 hp, plus peak torque up by 70 Nm to 520 Nm. This
can be boosted to as much as 540 Nm with the input of the mild hybrid
system. The engine accelerates the new BMW X5 xDrive40i and BMW X6
  xDrive40i from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.4 seconds.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>
<strong>Sophisticated chassis technology underpins sporting ability
    and long-distance comfort.</strong></p>
<p>The integrated braking system is a key element of the advanced
chassis technology at work here. Standard specification also includes
  21-inch M Y-spoke wheels for the new BMW X5 and 22-inch M V-spoke
wheels for the new BMW X6.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>
<strong>Additional systems for assisted driving and automated parking.</strong></p>
<p>Comfort and safety in the new BMW X5 and BMW X6 can be taken to
another new level with a significantly expanded selection of assisted
driving and automated parking systems. Updates include enhanced
capabilities for the standard front-collision warning system, which
can now also reduce the risk of a collision with cyclists, pedestrians
or oncoming traffic when turning off a road. The standard Driving
Assistant also offers Speed Limit Display with no-overtaking
indicator, Lane Change Warning, Rear Crossing Traffic Warning and Rear
  Collision Prevention.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>As well as the Reversing Assist Camera and Reversing Assistant, the
standard Parking Assistant Professional enables automated parking into
and out of spaces and complete manoeuvres over a distance of up to 200
metres to be controlled from outside the car using the My BMW App on
  an Apple iPhone.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>
<strong>Latest-generation BMW iDrive, new digital services.</strong></p>
<p>The latest-generation BMW iDrive tech based on BMW Operating System 8
brings both the BMW Curved Display and an array of new digital
services to the new BMW X5 and BMW X6. The BMW Live Cockpit
Professional includes the cloud-based navigation system.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>The BMW Digital Key Plus enables customers to lock and unlock their
new BMW X5 or BMW X6 via security-enhanced ultra-wideband (UWB) radio
technology with compatible smartphones running the iOS or Android
operating system. Optimised smartphone integration and the
personalised BMW ID are also on hand.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>The new BMW X5 and BMW X6 are now available for viewing at all
  authorised BMW dealers in Singapore.</p>

<p>The update will provide the BMW X5 with everything it needs to
maintain worldwide market leadership in its segment and enable the
BMW X6 to secure its position as number one ahead of competitors
from other premium German manufacturers. The two models will be
built at BMW Group Plant Spartanburg in the USA, the competence
centre for BMW X models, and their global launch gets underway in
    April 2023.</p>
  <p>
<strong>The new BMW X5: slim headlights, illuminated BMW kidney grille.</strong></p>
<p>The inclusion of the xLine design elements as standard gives the
BMW X5 significantly greater presence and visual robustness. Its
front end is shaped by the fresh interpretation of the hallmark BMW
headlights and kidney grille. The new headlight units now have a
35-millimetre slimmer outline. Their arrow-shaped daytime driving
light elements point outwards and also serve as turn signal
indicators. Matrix LED headlights with adaptive control and BMW
Selective Beam non-dazzling high beam, plus M Shadowline lights, are
    included on the options list.</p>
<p>The BMW kidney Iconic Glow is now offered as an option for the
six-cylinder variants of the new BMW X5, and its cascade lighting
creates an extremely eye-catching and brand-typical look. The
vertical air curtains and the lower air intake, complete with
decorative trim detail in Pearl-effect Chrome and triangular
apertures in its outer areas, also contribute to the cutting-edge aura.</p>
<p>The precisely updated design of the BMW X5 also spans newly
designed air breathers in the front side panels and the standard
inclusion of Exterior Line Satin Aluminium trim and roof rails in
Satin Aluminium. The sculptural fibre-optic light guide elements for
the rear lights and brake lights now have particularly striking
contouring. The L shape familiar from other BMW models is reflected
horizontally, creating a consistently illuminated X motif within the
    rear lights.</p>
  <p>
    <strong>The new BMW X6: M Sport package now standard</strong>.</p>
<p>The new BMW X6 also has slim headlight units with arrow-shaped
daytime driving light elements. As before, the BMW kidney Iconic
Glow is offered as an option for the six-cylinder models. The
dynamic character of the new BMW X6 is highlighted even more
intently with the now standard M Sport package. Playing a key role
here is the octagonal front-end signature below the BMW kidney
grille, with its striking side apertures and generous use of black
surfaces. In addition, the three-dimensional sculpting of the front
apron underscores the car’s width and brawny stature.</p>
<p>M-specific side skirts and M High-gloss Shadowline trim are also
part of the M Sport package. The rear apron of the SAC has an insert
in Dark Shadow, while the new exhaust tailpipe trims are trapezoidal
    in shape.</p>
  <p>
<strong>Range-topping models with distinctive design features; M
Sport package Pro makes its debut.</strong></p>
<p>The M Sport package is available as an option for the new BMW X5 to
convey the feeling of exclusive dynamism, as it does as standard in
the design of the new BMW X6. These design features take on a
model-specific form for the range-topping BMW X5 M60i xDrive (fuel
    consumption, combined: 12.5 – 11.5 l/100 km [22.6 – 24.6 mpg imp];
    CO2 emissions: 283 – 261 g/km in the WLTP cycle) and
    BMW X6 M60i xDrive (fuel consumption, combined: 12.3 – 11.4 l/
    100 km [23.0 – 24.8 mpg imp]; CO2 emissions:
279 – 258 g/km in the WLTP cycle). They include double bars and an
M logo for the BMW kidney grille, M exterior mirror caps in Black
high-gloss, exhaust system tailpipe trim in the hallmark M quad-pipe
style and a rear spoiler in Black high-gloss for the BMW X6 M60i xDrive.</p>
<p>All model variants are now available with the M Sport package Pro.
The new M Marina Bay Blue metallic (BMW X5 M60i xDrive) and M Isle
of Man Green metallic (BMW X6 M60i xDrive) body paint finishes are
available exclusively for the range-topping models. New additions
for all models are Blue Ridge Mountain metallic, Brooklyn Grey
metallic, Skyscraper Grey metallic, Frozen Pure Grey metallic and
around 40 BMW Individual special paint finishes.</p>
  <p>
<strong>Modern cockpit design with all-digital BMW Curved Display.</strong></p>
<p>Digital technology is the guiding force behind the advances brought
to the interior of the new BMW X5 and new BMW X6. The integration of
BMW Operating System 8 and the latest generation of the iDrive
control/operation system also heralds the arrival of the BMW Curved
Display in the Sports Activity Vehicle and Sports Activity Coupé. It
is made up of a 12.3-inch information display behind the steering
wheel and a control display with a screen diagonal of 14.9 inches –
both located behind a single glass surface. The touch control
functionality of the control display has brought about a significant
reduction in the number of buttons and switches in favour of digital
control for numerous functions. The innovative cockpit and
associated updates to the instrument panel bring a particularly
progressive feel to the modern premium ambience.</p>
<p>Standard specification for both models now includes an instrument
panel with surfacing in leather-like Sensafin and an elegantly
curving trim element in fine wood. Another new feature is the
ambient light bar with highly effective LED backlighting integrated
below the trim element in the front passenger area. The relevant
model lettering – “X5” or “X6” – is added to the light bar’s
graphic; in the two flagship models it displays the M logo. The
control panel on the centre console includes additional
touch-sensitive surfaces and a newly designed gear selector lever.</p>
<p>Comfort seats for the driver and front passenger can be specified
as an alternative to the standard sport seats with Sensafin
surfaces. Also available as an option are BMW Individual Merino
extended leather upholstery, BMW Individual full Merino leather
upholstery, active seat ventilation and a massage function.</p>
<p>Among the other highlights of the options list are the new Comfort
Package with panel heating and a “thermo” function for the cup
holders, the Sky Lounge panoramic glass sunroof illuminated by LED
units, glass applications for selected controls, the Bowers &
Wilkins Diamond Surround Sound System and the newly designed Travel
    & Comfort System.</p>
  <p>
<strong>New engines, new eight-speed Steptronic Sport transmission
      and systematic electrification.</strong></p>
<p>The new BMW X5 and new BMW X6 can both be ordered with the choice
    of an eight-cylinder petrol engine, a six-cylinder in-line petrol
and a six-cylinder in-line diesel engine – each from the latest
generation of power units. All of the engines now link up with the
likewise new eight-speed Steptronic Sport transmission, complete
with gearshift paddles on the steering wheel. They send their power
to the road – or indeed unpaved surfaces, as the need arises – via
the BMW xDrive intelligent all-wheel-drive system.</p>
<p>All the drive units now feature 48V mild hybrid technology. This
across-the-board application of electrification comes in the form of
an electric motor integrated into the transmission. This motor
generates an output boost of up to 9 kW/12 hp and 200 Nm (147 lb-ft)
of torque, helping the combustion engine to deliver a smooth,
dynamic drive along with high efficiency.</p>
  <p>
    <strong>New plug-in hybrid BMW X5 xDrive50e offers more power,
      efficiency and electric range.</strong></p>
<p>The drive system for the plug-in hybrid variant of the SAV has also
been completely reworked, and the updated model carries the
    designation BMW X5 xDrive50e. A latest-generation six-cylinder
in-line petrol engine and a similarly new electric motor team up to
develop system output of 360 kW/490 hp (including temporary boost
effect) – an increase of 70 kW/96 hp over the outgoing model – and
combined torque of 700 Nm (516 lb-ft), which is a rise of 100 Nm
    (74 lb-ft). The petrol engine’s nominal output of 230 kW/313 hp
represents an increase of 20 kW/27 hp on the unit it replaces. The
compact electric motor integrated into the eight-speed Steptronic
Sport transmission produces a nominal output of 145 kW/197 hp
(+62 kW/84 hp). In addition, an innovative pre-gearing stage – used
to increase the effective torque produced by the electric motor to a
maximum 450 Nm (332 lb-ft) at the transmission input for the motor –
helps to provide even sharper power delivery. The BMW X5 xDrive50e
    accelerates from rest to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 4.8 seconds.</p>
<p>The amount of usable energy that can be stored by the high-voltage
battery integrated into the underbody area has been increased by
almost 25 per cent over the preceding generation, to 25.7 kWh. A new
Combined Charging Unit doubles the maximum AC charging rate to
7.4 kW. The electric range of the new BMW X5 xDrive50e is 94 –
    110 kilometres (58 – 68 miles) in the WLTP cycle.</p>
  <p>
    <strong>New V8 petrol engine with M TwinPower Turbo technology.</strong></p>
<p>Credit for the elite sporting prowess of the two range-topping
models goes to a new 4.4-litre V8 petrol engine, derived from the
power units in high-performance models from BMW M GmbH. M TwinPower
Turbo technology and a cross-bank exhaust manifold imbue the
390 kW/530 hp engine, which generates peak torque of 750 Nm (553
lb-ft), with impressively accomplished performance characteristics.</p>
<p>The latest version of the eight-cylinder engine powers both the new
    BMW X5 M60i xDrive and new BMW X6 M60i xDrive from 0 to 100 km/h (62
    mph) in 4.3 seconds.</p>
  <p>
    <strong>Latest-generation six-cylinder in-line petrol engine</strong>.</p>
<p>Innovations affecting the combustion process, gas exchange, valve
control, injection and ignition system mark out the
    latest-generation<br />3.0-litre six-cylinder in-line petrol engine
at work in the new BMW X5 xDrive40i (fuel consumption, combined:
    9.9 – 8.5 l/100 km [28.5 – 33.2 mpg imp]; CO2 emissions:
    224 – 193 g/km in the WLTP cycle) and new BMW X6 xDrive40i (fuel
    consumption, combined:<br />9.6 – 8.5 l/100 km [29.4 – 33.2 mpg
    imp]; CO2 emissions:<br />218 – 192 g/km in the WLTP cycle).</p>
<p>The new engine develops maximum output increased by 35 kW/47 hp
over the outgoing models to 280 kW/380 hp, plus peak torque up by
70 Nm (52 lb-ft) to 520 Nm (383 lb-ft). This can be boosted to as
much as 540 Nm (398 lb-ft) with the input of the mild hybrid system.
The engine accelerates both the new BMW X5 xDrive40i and new
    BMW X6 xDrive40i from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 5.4 seconds.</p>
  <p>
    <strong>Six-cylinder in-line diesel engine with detail improvements.</strong></p>
  <p>The six-cylinder in-line diesel engine in the new BMW X5 xDrive30d
    (fuel consumption, combined: 8.2 – 7.1 l/100 km [34.5 – 39.8 mpg
    imp]; CO2 emissions: 215 – 186 g/km in the WLTP cycle)
    and new BMW X6 xDrive30d (fuel consumption, combined: 7.9 – 7.0
    l/100 km [35.8 – 40.4 mpg imp]; CO2 emissions:
208 – 184 g/km in the WLTP cycle) also brings upgrades to numerous
details. The 3.0-litre unit now has steel pistons instead of
aluminium items, an optimised oil separation process and a new
common-rail direct injection system with solenoid valve injectors.</p>
<p>The new diesel engine joins forces with the mild hybrid system to
produce maximum output of 219 kW/298 hp and peak torque of 670 Nm
(494 lb-ft). This enables both the new BMW X5 xDrive30d and new
    BMW X6 xDrive30d to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 6.1 seconds.</p>
  <p>
<strong>Sophisticated chassis technology underpins sporting ability
      and long-distance comfort.</strong></p>
<p>Fitting adaptive suspension as standard, modifying the anti-roll
bars in response to changes in weight distribution and strengthening
them accordingly gives the new BMW X5 and new BMW X6 their signature
blend of sporting versatility and excellent long-distance comfort.
Adaptive M suspension, which comes as standard on both the
range-topping models as well as the other variants of the new
BMW X6, provides a particularly firm connection to the body.
Adaptive two-axle air suspension and the xOffroad package are
offered as options. The range-topping models are equipped as
standard with Integral Active Steering. This is available as an
option for all other models or as part of the adaptive M suspension
Professional, which also includes an M Sport differential and an
    active roll stabilisation system.</p>
<p>The integrated braking system is another element of the advanced
chassis technology at work here. And standard specification also
includes 19-inch light-alloy wheels for the new BMW X5, 20-inch
items for the new BMW X6 and 21-inch wheels for the range-topping
variant of each model. Light-alloy wheels up to 22 inches in size
can be specified as an option.</p>
  <p>
<strong>Additional systems for automated driving and parking.</strong></p>
<p>Comfort and safety in the new BMW X5 and new BMW X6 can be taken to
another new level with a significantly expanded selection of
automated driving and parking systems. Updates include enhanced
capabilities for the standard front-collision warning system, which
can now also reduce the risk of a collision with cyclists,
pedestrians or oncoming traffic when turning off a road. Among the
options now available are automatic Speed Limit Assist, exit
warning, Active Navigation, route speed control, traffic light
recognition (depending on the market), Emergency Stop Assistant,
Lane Change Assistant and Merging Assistant.</p>
<p>As well as the Reversing Assist Camera and Reversing Assistant, the
standard Parking Assistant now also comprises the drive-off
monitoring and Trailer Assistant functions. And the new, optional
Parking Assistant Professional enables automated parking into and
out of spaces and complete manoeuvres over a distance of up to
200 metres to be controlled from outside the car using the My BMW
    App on an Apple iPhone.</p>
  <p>
<strong>Latest-generation BMW iDrive, new digital services.</strong></p>
<p>The latest-generation BMW iDrive tech based on BMW Operating System
8 brings both the BMW Curved Display and an array of new digital
services to the BMW X5 and BMW X6. The standard BMW Live Cockpit
Plus also includes the cloud-based navigation system BMW Maps. And

<strong>Singapore.</strong> BMW M GmbH is unveiling the third
generation of its high-performance executive-class Sports Activity
Vehicle (SAV) and Sports Activity Coupe (SAC) models. BMW Asia and
Performance Munich Autos today announced the launch of the first-ever
BMW X5 M Competition and BMW X6 M Competition – these two models
deliver handling agility, dynamism, and precision unmatched in their
class. Their superior performance attributes combine with the
versatility, extrovert design, and modern luxury of which BMW X models
  are renowned.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>A V8 engine developing 625 hp, an M-specific chassis that has been
tailored to both the engine’s performance profile and the SAV / SAC
vehicle concept, as well as design features taken from the M playbook
ensure imposing power and supremely controllable handling, even at the
dynamic limits. The sprint from 0 to 100 km/h is dispatched in a mere
  3.8 seconds for both models – the first-ever BMW X5 M Competition
clocks the 0 to 200 km/h sprint in 13.4 seconds, and the first-ever
BMW X6 M Competition stops the clock at 13.2 seconds for the same
sprint. Both models have an electronically limited top speed of 250
km/h. The intoxicating all-round performance package benefits from
fine-tuning carried out during intensive testing at the BMW Group’s
proving grounds, the Nürburgring-Nordschleife and other race tracks.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>
  <strong>Significant power hike: high-revving V8 engine with M
TwinPower Turbo technology developing 625 hp. </strong></p>
<p>M TwinPower Turbo technology and the appetite for revs shared by all
M models give the latest-generation V8 engine fitted in the first-ever
BMW X5 M Competition and BMW X6 M Competition an unmistakable
performance profile. Its headline character traits are instant
response to the slightest movement of the accelerator, precisely
controllable power delivery, and a linear wave of power into the upper
echelons of the rev range under full throttle.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>The 4.4-litre engine teams up with two turbochargers – positioned in
the “V” between the cylinder banks – whose impact is further enhanced
by a cross-bank exhaust manifold. Torque peaks at 750 Nm between 1,800
and 5,800 rpm, while the maximum output of 625 hp arrives at 3,000
rpm. The power unit’s firm connection to the vehicle’s structure
results in remarkably instantaneous engine response and direct
transmission of its power to the drivetrain. A super-stiff engine
mounting results also makes the car sharper on turn-in while dampening
the transmission of engine noise to the cabin. The M Sport exhaust
system captures all of the engine’s free-revving eagerness and
propulsive power to thrilling effect, generating a soundtrack of
  particular emotional richness.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>
  <strong>Precise power transfer: eight-speed M Steptronic transmission
with Drivelogic, M xDrive and Active M Differential. </strong></p>
<p>The high-performance engine in the two Competition models teams up
with the latest version of the eight-speed M Steptronic transmission
with Drivelogic, whose gearshift characteristics can be adjusted using
the Drivelogic button on the M-specific selector lever. The driver may
also opt to use the M shift paddles on the steering wheel for manual
control over the gear selection process.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>The M xDrive all-wheel-drive system with bespoke tuning and the
Active M Differential at the rear axle have been specially tuned to
transfer drive to the road with characteristic élan. The two systems
thus optimise traction, agility, and handling stability when the cars’
sporting capabilities are put to the test in all terrains. In the
default 4WD setting, the M xDrive displays a conspicuous rear-wheel
bias – it only brings the front axle into play when the rear wheels
aren’t able to transmit any more power to the road, and additional
tractive force is required. However, the driver can also dip into the
Setup menu to select 4WD Sport mode to bring extra intensity to the
driving experience, in which an even greater proportion of the
engine’s torque is directed to the rear wheels.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>
<strong>M-specific chassis, integrated braking system. </strong></p>
<p>Pulse-quickening on-road dynamism and unsurpassed ground-covering
ability over off-road terrain set the tone for the new
high-performance additions to the SAV and SAC segments. The first-ever
BMW X5 M Competition and BMW X6 M Competition are fitted with
extensive measures to optimise the stiffness of the body structure and
suspension mountings. The model-specific design and tuning of the
chassis technology also helps enhance handling precision. Standard
specification includes the adaptive M suspension system with
electronically controlled dampers, the active roll stabilisation
system, and M Servotronic steering. The stiff suspension mountings on
both models enable damper control to be extremely precise. The
electric swivel motors on the active roll stabilization system have a
high adjustment torque, enabling extremely direct damper response when
absorbing bumps on the road surface or taming body roll.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>M compound brakes offer outstanding stopping power combined with
supreme feel and excellent comfort. The version of the integrated
braking system developed for BMW M models presents the driver with two
settings for brake pedal feel – COMFORT mode allows for
comfort-oriented feedback, while SPORT mode makes for an extremely
  direct, instantaneous response.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>
  <strong>Extrovert design, variable-use interior, luxurious ambience. </strong></p>
<p>The shared racing focus of the first-ever BMW X5 M Competition and
BMW X6 M Competition models is emphasised by their striking exterior
designs. The combination of typical SAV / SAC proportions with
signature M design features lends the first-ever BMW X5 M Competition
and BMW X6 M Competition an extrovert appearance exuding supreme
  authority in any environment.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>Large air intakes, M gills on the front side panels, aerodynamically
optimised exterior mirrors, a roof / rear spoiler, a rear apron with
diffuser elements and the two pairs of exhaust tailpipes lay the
technical platform required to deliver standout performance. The
Competition models come with distinctive design highlights, among them
the BMW Laserlights feature, as well as exclusive M light-alloy wheels
in 21-inch format at the front axle and 22-inch at the rear
  (first-ever BMW X5 M Competition: Star-spoke style 809 M Bicolour,
  first-ever BMW X6 M Competition: Star-spoke style 818 M Bicolour). The
different rim diameters also combine with mixed tyres to optimise
transmission of lateral control forces through dynamically taken corners.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>Inside the high-performance models, abundant space, top-class
materials, and build quality radiating precise craftsmanship create a
luxurious ambience. The classy, contemporary style of the cabin is
complemented by displays and controls with the familiar M treatment –
the bespoke M controls, and the red splashes of colour adorning the M
leather steering wheel’s M buttons plus the Start/Stop button on the
centre console help the driver to dial fully into the dynamic driving
experience. The restyled selector is trimmed in leather with an
embossed M logo and stitching in M GmbH colours, and includes the
Drivelogic switch. It also incorporates an eye-catching cut-out
accentuated by the integral ambient lighting.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>Both models feature a fine-grain Merino full leather trim with
M-specific hexagonal quilting – this is also used for the door trim
panels, the lower section of the instrument panel, the front seat
backs, the door panelling, and the door pockets in leather too. A BMW
Individual headliner in Alcantara anthracite is also available as
standard. The luxurious interior ambience is further continued with
features such as the soft-close function, as well as a Harmon Kardon
sound system fitted as standard on the Competition models.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>
<strong>Operating system creates intense M feeling; exclusive standard
    equipment. </strong></p>
<p>A Setup button on the centre console enables direct access to the
settings for the engine, dampers, steering, M xDrive and braking
system. Two individually composed variants of this M setup can be
stored and called up at any time by pressing one of the two red M
buttons on the steering wheel. Added to which, the information shown
in the instrument cluster and Head-Up Display and the functionality of
the driver assistance systems can both be varied using the M Mode
  button on the centre console.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>In addition to ROAD and SPORT settings, the first-ever BMW X5 M
Competition and BMW X6 M Competition feature a TRACK setting designed
exclusively for use on race circuits. Switching to SPORT or TRACK mode
reduces the amount of information appearing in the displays. In
addition, the safety-enhancing interventions initiated by the driver
assistance systems – such as active braking or steering inputs – are
reduced to a bare minimum or deactivated altogether. The exclusive
selection of equipment fitted as standard includes the BMW Head-Up
Display with M-specific readouts, M multifunction seats for the driver
and front passenger, and the BMW Display Key. Both models also come
with the BMW Live Cockpit Professional with navigation system and the
BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant as standard.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>The Driving Assistant Professional package provides the best in
comfort and safety with features such as the Steering and lane control
assistant, the Lane Keeping Assistant with active side collision
protection, the Lane Change Assistant, the Evasion Assistant, the
Emergency Stop Assistant and the Crossroads warning, Wrong-way warning
and Front Cross Traffic Alert systems. The standard-fit Parking
Assistant Plus comes to the driver’s aid when selecting and
manoeuvring into parking spaces – in addition, the system includes
Active Park Distance Control and camera system allowing for the Top
View, Panorama View, 3D Top View and Remote 3D View functions. The
Reversing Assistant also forms part of standard equipment.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>The first-ever BMW X5 M Competition and BMW X6 M Competition are now
available for viewing at the Performance Munich Autos showroom.</p>

<p> </p>
<p>The all-new BMW X6 blends the agile and versatile driving properties
of a Sports Activity Vehicle with the head-turning looks of a coupe.
The third-generation X6 employs a clean, exclusive design language to
underscore its confident and commanding appearance. And advanced
powertrain and chassis technology teams up with a wealth of
innovations to deliver a uniquely sporting yet also luxurious driving
experience. Like its predecessor, the all-new BMW X6 is produced in
the US at BMW Group Plant Spartanburg.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>
<strong>Dynamically stretched proportions exude sporting prowess.</strong></p>
<p>The all-new BMW X6 has grown by 26 millimetres in exterior length
over the outgoing model (to 4,935 mm) and by 15 mm in width (to 2,004
mm). It now stands 6 mm lower (at 1,696 mm) and combines dynamically
stretched proportions with exceptional visual muscularity. The car’s
wheelbase has increased by 42 mm to 2,975 millimetres. The large,
single-frame BMW kidney grille is the most striking feature of the
front end, the outer edges of the kidney grille now approaching the
headlights at a clearly defined angle.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>If the optional BMW Laserlight with Adaptive LED headlights (standard
on the BMW X6 M50i) is specified, a BMW Laserlight spotlight with
Selective Beam optimises the non-dazzling high beam function, whose
range increases to around 500 metres. BMW Laserlight can be identified
by the blue x-shaped elements inside the signature BMW twin
headlights. The flanks of the all-new X6 are defined by familiar BMW
proportions, a crisply drawn character line and the dynamic roofline.
  21-inch (BMW X6 xDrive40i) and 22-inch (BMW X6 M50i) light-alloy
  wheels are fitted as standard.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>
<strong>Interior: an exclusive ambience imbued with sporting flair.</strong></p>
<p>The interior of the all-new BMW X6 is geared squarely to deliver an
exclusive and dynamic driving experience. Clear structures lend the
cabin a modern and sporty appearance. The design of the cockpit,
complete with the new arrangement and design of the control elements,
represents a progressive re-interpretation of the driver focus for
which BMW is renowned. The all-new BMW X6 comes as standard with
Vernasca leather upholstery (BMW X6 xDrive40i) and BMW Individual
  full-leather trim Merino (BMW X6 M50i).</p>
<p> </p>
<p>The interior offers a high degree of variability, thanks to 40:20:40
split rear seat backrests that can be folded down to increase boot
capacity from 580 to 1,530 litres. Equipment features from the list of
optional extras include multifunction seats with massage function for
the driver and front passenger, four-zone automatic climate control
(standard on both variants), thermoelectric cup holders, glass
applications for selected controls (standard on BMW X6 M50i), the
Panorama glass roof Sky Lounge, the Ambient Air interior fragrancing
package (standard on BMW X6 M50i) and the Bowers & Wilkins
  Diamond+ 3D Surround Sound System.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>
  <strong>Two powerful engines from launch.</strong></p>
<p>The line-up of engines available for the all-new BMW X6 from launch
includes two petrol units from the latest generation. The model
line-up is spearheaded by a BMW M model with a newly developed 530 hp
V8 petrol engine. The all-new BMW X6 M50i is joined in the range by a
straight-six petrol unit with an output of 340 hp in the all-new BMW
X6 xDrive40i. The M Sport exhaust system fitted as standard on both
models gives the car an unmistakable and emotionally rich aural presence.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>The all-new BMW X6 models come as standard with an eight-speed
Steptronic transmission, while intelligent all-wheel drive maximises
traction, agility and directional stability. The latest generation of
the BMW xDrive system once again splits drive torque between the front
and rear wheels variably and as the situation demands – only now, with
  even greater precision and speed.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>In situations which do not require all-wheel drive, drive can be
channelled entirely to the rear wheels in the interest of efficiency.
The xDrive system also maintains a rear-wheel bias in particularly
dynamic driving situations. The car’s sporting attributes are aided by
the electronically controlled M differential lock at the rear axle,
available as part of M Sport specification or in conjunction with the
  optional xOffroad package.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>
<strong>Perfectly tuned chassis systems enhance sporting responses,
    comfort levels and off-road prowess.</strong></p>
<p>A double-wishbone front axle and five-link rear axle give the all-new
BMW X6 the ideal suspension tools to deliver dynamism and ride comfort
on the road, plus unshakable traction off the beaten track. Dynamic
Damper Control is included as standard, the Adaptive M suspension
Professional with active roll stabilisation and Integral Active
Steering (standard on the BMW X6 M50i) endows the car with
exceptionally agile and dynamic driving qualities, and the all-new BMW
X6 is also available with two-axle air suspension including automatic
self-levelling (standard on the BMW X6 xDrive40i). The car’s height
can be altered at the touch of a button in the cockpit to a maximum of
80 millimetres. An off-road package is available for the all-new BMW
X6 xDrive40i, allowing the driver to choose from four modes that
optimise progress over snow, sand, gravel or rocks respectively. At
the press of a button, they can also activate the ideal settings for
the vehicle’s ride height, the xDrive system, accelerator response,
transmission control and the DSC system’s corrective inputs.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>
<strong>Innovative driver assistance systems offering new functions.</strong></p>
<p>An extensive selection of standard and optional driver assistance
systems mark out the all-new BMW X6 as an exceptionally innovative
Sports Activity Coupe. Fresh from the addition of myriad new
functions, the systems do an extremely effective job in enhancing
comfort and safety. Standard specification for the all-new BMW X6
includes Cruise Control with braking function and the Collision and
Pedestrian Warning with City Braking function, which also alerts the
driver when a cyclist is detected. The Active Cruise Control system
with Stop & Go function is available as an option. The Driving
Assistant Professional (standard on the BMW X6 M50i) can also be found
on the options list for the all-new BMW X6. This complete package of
safety- and comfort-enhancing technology includes both the steering
and lane control assistant with Traffic jam assistant and lane keeping
assistant with active side collision protection. The Evasion Assistant
is another component of the Driving Assistant Professional, as are the
rear collision warning, road priority warning and wrong-way driving
warning systems, crossing traffic warning, Lane Change Warning and the
Emergency Stop Assistant. The innovative Reversing Assistant, which
helps the driver when exiting parking spaces and manoeuvring within a
confined space, represents another step en route to automated driving.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>
<strong>BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant is on hand to help the driver.</strong></p>
<p>The BMW Live Cockpit Professional in the all-new BMW X6 combines a
new display and operating concept with unbeatable connectivity. It
includes a high-resolution instrument cluster and a Control Display,
both with a screen diagonal of 12.3 inches. The all-new BMW X6 comes
with the BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant, an intelligent digital
character who responds to the prompt “Hey BMW”. One unique feature
over other digital assistants is that drivers can choose their own
name for him. The arrival of the BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant
ensures there is always a genuine BMW professional on board. He is
able to explain all sorts of different functions, provide up-to-date
information and assist the driver. The range of functions and skills
available will be constantly expanded as part of regular updates,
which can be carried out seamlessly on a smartphone and in-car via
  Remote Software Upgrade.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>The all-new BMW X6 is now available for viewing at the Performance
Motors and Performance Munich Autos showrooms.</p>

<strong>Munich.</strong> The new BMW X6 blends the agile and versatile
driving properties of a Sports Activity Vehicle with the head-turning
looks of a coupe. The third-generation X6 employs a clean, exclusive
design language to underscore its confident and commanding appearance.
And advanced powertrain and chassis technology teams up with a wealth

  <strong>Dynamically stretched proportions exude sporting

<p>The large, single-frame BMW kidney grille is the most striking

is available for the first time as an option with
an <strong>illuminated BMW kidney grille</strong>, which adds an
exclusive flourish to the exterior design. The illumination is
activated by opening or closing the car, but the driver can switch it
on and off manually too. This lighting function for the kidney grille
  is also available while driving.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>If the optional <strong>BMW Laserlight</strong> with Adaptive LED
headlights is specified, a BMW Laserlight spotlight with
Selective Beam optimises the non-dazzling high beam function, whose

19-inch light-alloy wheels are fitted as standard, with other wheel
variants ranging in size from 20 to 22 inches available as an option.
  The BMW X6 M50i and BMW X6 M50d come with 21-inch light-alloy wheels as standard.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>The new BMW X6 is available from launch in xLine and M Sport model
variants as an alternative to standard specification. The two
equipment lines each have their own distinctive design cues.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>

<p>
<strong>Four powerful engines and an M duo from
launch.</strong> <br />The line-up of engines available for the new
BMW X6 from launch includes two petrol units and a pair of diesel
variants from the latest generation. The model line-up is spearheaded
  by a BMW M model with a newly developed 390 kW/530 hp V8 petrol
engine. The BMW X6 M50i (fuel consumption combined: 10.7–10.4 l/100 km
  [26.4–27.2 mpg imp]; CO2 emissions combined: 243–237 g/km)*
is joined in the range by the BMW X6 M50d (fuel consumption combined:
  7.2–6.9 l/100 km [39.2‑40.9 mpg imp]; CO2 emissions
  combined: 190–181 g/km)* with 294 kW/400 hp six-cylinder
in‑line diesel engine and a quartet of turbochargers. A straight-six
petrol unit with output of 250 kW/340 hp sees action in the
  BMW X6 xDrive40i (fuel consumption combined: 8.6–8.0 l/100 km
  [32.8–35.3 mpg imp]; CO2 emissions combined: 197–181

l/100 km [42.8–46.3 mpg imp]; CO2 emissions combined:
  172–159 g/km)* employs a six-cylinder in-line diesel with
195 kW/265 hp. All variants of the new BMW X6 fulfil the requirements
of the EU6d-TEMP emissions standard. The M Sport exhaust system fitted
as standard on both M models is also available as an option for the
other versions of the BMW X6 or as part of the M Sport package, and
gives the car an unmistakable and emotionally rich aural presence.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>All new BMW X6 models come as standard with an eight-speed Steptronic
transmission, while intelligent all-wheel drive maximises traction,
agility and directional stability. The latest generation of

    optional <strong>xOffroad package</strong>.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>
<strong>Perfectly tuned chassis systems enhance sporting responses,
    comfort levels and off-road prowess.</strong> <br />A
double-wishbone front axle and five-link rear axle give the new BMW X6
the ideal suspension tools to deliver dynamism and ride comfort on the
road, plus unshakable traction off the beaten track. Dynamic
Damper Control is included as standard, the <strong>Adaptive M
    suspension Professional</strong> with
    active <strong>roll stabilisation</strong> and <strong>Integral
Active Steering</strong> endows the car with exceptionally agile and
dynamic driving qualities, and the new BMW X6 is also available
with <strong>two-axle air suspension</strong> including automatic
self-levelling. The car’s height can be altered at the touch of a
button in the cockpit through a maximum 80 millimetres. An off-road
package is available for all model variants with the exception of the
BMW X6 M50i and BMW X6 M50d, allowing the driver to choose from four
modes that optimise progress over snow, sand, gravel or rocks
respectively. And at the press of a button, they can also activate the
ideal settings for the vehicle’s ride height, the xDrive system,
accelerator response, transmission control and the DSC system’s

<p>
<strong>Innovative driver assistance systems offering new

safety- and comfort-enhancing tech includes both the <strong>steering
and lane control assistant</strong> with Traffic jam assistant
and <strong>lane keeping assistant</strong> with active side
collision protection. The Evasion Assistant is another component of
the Driving Assistant Professional, as are the rear collision warning,
road priority warning and wrong-way driving warning systems, crossing
traffic warning, Lane Change Warning and the Emergency Stop Assistant.
The innovative reversing assistant, which helps the driver when
exiting parking spaces and manoeuvring within a confined space,
represents another step en route to automated driving.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>
<strong>BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant is on hand to help the
driver.</strong> <br />The BMW Live Cockpit Professional in the new
BMW X6 combines a new display and operating concept with unbeatable
connectivity. It includes a <strong>high-resolution instrument
  cluster</strong> and a <strong>Control Display</strong>, both
