Singapore. BMW Asia today announced the availability
of the new BMW i4 and new BMW 4 Series Gran Coupé, further building on
their unique status in the marketplace with targeted upgrades in
aesthetic appeal, driving pleasure, electrification and
digitalisation. The new BMW i4 will continue to deliver locally
emission-free mobility in the brand’s hallmark style while the new BMW
4 Series Gran Coupé underscores its sporting elegance with a precisely
modified design.

“At BMW, we firmly believe in the power of choice,” said Lars
Nielsen, Managing Director, BMW Group Asia. “Regardless of the
drivetrain, the emotional experience behind the wheel of a BMW Series
4 Series is ever present. Here in Singapore, our customers expect a
superior drive and stylish companion for all occasions. Therefore,
with these fresh updates, we are confident that the new BMW i4 and new
BMW 4 Series Gran Coupé will continue to set the benchmark in the
premium midsize class.”

The popularity of the BMW i4 also represents an endorsement of the
BMW Group’s ‘technology-open’ approach in the current ramp-up phase of
electric mobility. The all-electric gran coupé was developed on the
basis of a flexible drive system architecture. Similar vehicle
concepts now also enable BMW 7 Series, BMW 5 Series, BMW X1, BMW X2,
and BMW X3 model variants with combustion engines, plug-in hybrid
systems, and all-electric drive to be offered alongside one another.

The new BMW i4 and new BMW 4 Series Gran Coupé are built at the BMW
Group’s home plant in Munich, whose transformation into a production
facility geared exclusively to all-electric models is being fuelled by
substantial investment. The green electricity needed for production
will come from hydroelectric power stations in the region.

New design for the BMW kidney grille, headlights, and rear lights.

Slim headlights and a vertically arranged BMW kidney grille dropping
deep towards the road headline the front-end styling of the new BMW i4
and new BMW 4 Series Gran Coupé. A refreshed design brings additional
visual impact to these signature brand features. The surround of the
BMW kidney grille is now finished in matt chrome. Due to the low
cooling requirement of the electric drive system, the BMW kidney
grille of the new BMW i4 has a fully enclosed upper section, below
which is a Black high-gloss surface topped by a matt-silver honeycomb
pattern. The air intakes on the combustion-engine model of the new BMW
4 Series Gran Coupé have a mesh structure whose surfaces are now
painted in matt Quartz Silver.

As well as a front apron with large side air intakes, the standard M
Sport package for the new BMW i4 also includes a diffuser element in
the lower section of the rear bumper, which is now painted in Black
high-gloss. In addition, the exhaust tailpipes integrated into the
rear apron on the left and right of the combustion-engine model have
grown from 90 millimetres to 100 millimetres in diameter.

The visually and functionally upgraded headlights also play their
part in the modern appearance of the front end. The new structure of
their LED units creates a technically focused look. Low and high beam
are generated from a single LED module. A pair of vertical and subtly
arrow-shaped LED units house the side light, daytime driving light,
and turn signal indicator functions. Comfort Access is fitted, and the
new headlights generate a Welcome Light Animation once the driver and
vehicle key come within three metres of the car.

The Adaptive LED Headlights comes as standard, which has blue inlays,
non-dazzling matrix high beam, urban lights, and a cornering light
function. The prism structure of the LED units for the urban lights
provides a striking contrast against the uniform illumination of the
daytime driving light units. All models of the new BMW i4 and new BMW
4 Series Gran Coupé are also fitted with highly expressive rear
Laserlight. This model-specific version of an innovative lighting
effect employs a technology first seen in the BMW M4 CSL. Here, laser
diodes each illuminate a fibre optic bundle, giving the rear units an
intricate light graphic. This creates an exclusive light design at the
rear as well.

The new BMW i4 M50 xDrive meanwhile underlines its extremely sporty
character with M-specific design features producing eye-catching
visuals featuring a BMW kidney grille with a Black high-gloss surround
and horizontally arranged bars adorned by a BMW M logo. And the front
apron elements that were previously finished in Cerium Grey also come
in Black high-gloss. As a result, the front-end styling is now even
more closely related to the design of the BMW M4 high-performance
sports cars.

New exterior paint finishes and aerodynamic wheels.

The selection of exterior paint finishes for the new BMW i4 and new
BMW 4 Series Gran Coupé now also comprises the new Cape York Green
metallic and Fire Red metallic shades. A wide variety of BMW
Individual paint finishes and BMW Individual special paint finishes
are also offered. The new BMW 4 Series Gran Coupé comes with 18-inch M
aerodynamic wheels as standard, while the new BMW i4 has 19-inch M
aerodynamic wheels. The range-topping new BMW i4 M50 xDrive rides on
19-inch M light-alloy wheels as standard.

New interior accents target progressive sporting appeal.

The modifications to the interior of the new BMW i4 and new BMW 4
Series Gran Coupé are focused on digitalization and achieving a
sharper sporting profile. New adjustment controls for the air vent
grilles in the centre of the instrument panel and on the driver’s and
front passenger side of the cockpit allow the airflow direction to be
adjusted using rotating and tilting movements.

The new BMW i4 and new BMW 4 Series Gran Coupé are fitted as standard
with sport seats in Sensatec perforated.

In the new BMW i4 M50 xDrive, the standard M Sport seats are also
trimmed in the luxurious Vernasca leather. Also to be found as
standard in the M Performance model are interior trim elements in
Carbon Fibre, M door sill trim, M pedals, an M driver's footrest, an
anthracite-coloured headliner and M-specific graphics for the BMW
Curved Display.

Newly designed steering wheels, gearshift paddles now standard.

The newly designed M leather steering wheel also feed into the
enhanced sporting allure of the interior. It has a three-spoke design
with a flat bottomed rim and a discreet centre marking in the 12
o’clock position comes as standard in the new BMW 4 Series Gran Coupé
and new BMW i4.

The M leather steering wheel in the new BMW 4 Series Gran Coupé also
comes equipped with gearshift paddles as standard. The two paddles –
on the left-hand and right-hand steering wheel spokes – enable
super-swift manual interventions in the gear selection process of the
eight-speed Steptronic Sport transmission.

The M leather steering wheel in the new BMW i4 M50 xDrive also comes
with decorative stitching in BMW M colours and a red centre marker,
further adding to the performance experience in the cockpit.

High-quality materials, adjustable ambient lighting.

Interior trim finishers in Fine-Brushed Aluminium feature as standard
in the new BMW i4 and new BMW 4 Series Gran Coupé, helping to create a
premium ambience of renewed sophistication on board.

The ambient lighting – also now standard – includes contour lighting
integrated into the trim around the central seam vents. Like the
lighting for the footwells, the storage compartment in the front
section of the centre console and the door openers, this can be
adjusted for colour and brightness according to personal preference.
Users can choose from nine colours. The functionality of the interior
lighting also includes an atmospheric Welcome and Goodbye Animation
and light signals indicating an open door or incoming phone call.

The new additions to the options list also include the instrument
panel Luxury in Sensatec with a further refined surface structure,
which features on the door shoulders too. This is standard on the new
BMW i4 M50 xDrive. Load compartment capacity can be extended as
required from 470 litres to a maximum 1,290 litres.

Powertrain and charging technology: Bringing fresh energy to
sporty driving pleasure.

The flexible drive system architecture of the gran coupé for the
premium midsize class allows it to be combined with both all-electric
drive systems and highly efficient combustion engines. The new cars
channel their power to the road via classical rear wheel drive.

Playing a key role in enhancing the sporty driving pleasure available
in the new BMW 4 Series Gran Coupé is the eight-speed Steptronic Sport
transmission now fitted as standard with the combustion engines. It
offers an ultra-sharp shift action and also enables swift manual
interventions in the gear selection process. All the petrol models
feature gearshift paddles on the steering wheel for this purpose.

Chassis technology and driver assistance systems: Dynamism,
comfort, safety, and a hallmark BMW driving experience.

The extremely rigid body and chassis mountings, intelligent
lightweight design, low centre of gravity, almost perfect 50 : 50
weight distribution and optimised aerodynamic properties provide all
the necessary ingredients for a well-rounded vehicle character.

The double-joint spring strut front axle and five-link rear axle have
likewise been engineered to reduce weight while increasing rigidity.
Electromechanical steering with Servotronic function, an integrated
braking system, the DSC (Dynamic Stability Control) system and near
actuator wheel slip limitation all come as standard too.

Model-specific chassis technology with a bespoke set-up.

The sophisticated chassis technology combines with the model-specific
design and set-up of all components to ensure an ideal blend of
sporting flair and ride comfort in all powertrain variants. In the new
BMW i4, for instance, the high-voltage battery is firmly bolted to the
floor assembly, while its casing serves as a load-bearing structural
element to maximise torsional stiffness. Like the combustion-engine
model in the new BMW 4 Series Gran Coupé range, the new BMW i4 is
additionally fitted with integral tower-to-front end struts, an
aluminium shear panel at the front end and underfloor bracing elements
in the rear axle area.

The lift-related dampers are another factor in the harmonious
handling characteristics of the new BMW i4 and new BMW 4 Series Gran
Coupé. Depending on the spring travel, these provide extra damping to
control body movement when driving over large bumps and inhibit
excessive dive. Meanwhile, the system reacts to minor imperfections in
the road surface with low damping forces that produce high levels of comfort.

All-electric new BMW i4 M50 xDrive takes pole position.

The new BMW i4 M50 xDrive embodies a particularly intense
distillation of signature M performance in all-electric guise. Its
peak output even exceeds that of the new BMW M440i xDrive Gran Coupé,
which has a six cylinder in-line petrol engine with M TwinPower Turbo
technology under its bonnet.

Two highly integrated drive units bringing together an electric
motor, power electronics and transmission within a single housing help
the new BMW i4 M50 xDrive to top the output rankings. The electric
motor driving the rear wheels and the unit at the front axle come
together to create an electric all-wheel-drive system which is
controlled quickly and precisely to ensure effortless progress in any
driving situation. The fully variable system means power can always be
distributed to optimum effect — from highly efficient pure rear-wheel
drive through to an all wheel-drive set-up that maximises traction.

A specially designed boost function is available to the driver in
SPORT mode to initiate extremely dynamic power delivery from both
electric motors. This increases maximum combined output by 50 kW/68 hp
to 400 kW/544 hp for over 10 seconds, at the same time as boosting
maximum combined torque by 65 Nm to 795 Nm. Activating the Sport Boost
function enables the new BMW i4 M50 xDrive to sprint from rest to 100
km/h in just 3.9 seconds. Top speed is electronically limited to 225 km/h.

M-specific chassis technology for smile-inducing performance.

The range-topping model is equipped with chassis technology tailored
specifically to its drive system's performance characteristics. The
adaptive M suspension with electronically controlled dampers featured
on the new BMW i4 M50 xDrive include variable sport steering. Its
stunning performance capabilities are also partly down to its M Sport brakes.

Charging in Singapore.

To make electromobility simple and straightforward for customers,
today, BMW Asia continues this partnership by offering BMW EV
customers either a comprehensive home or public charging package:

For home charging, customers will receive a BMW Wallbox with
complimentary installation service.

For public charging, customers will receive a subscription package
of 10,000kWh over 3 years at Shell Recharge stations with no monthly
cap for charging. This is equivalent to 50,000km of driving range
(assuming average energy consumption of 20kWh/100km).

The BMW Wallbox provides a fast way to charge their vehicle at a rate
of up to 22kW. Once the vehicle is plugged in, charging begins and
will end automatically when the battery is fully charged or has
reached its pre-determined level.

BMW Charging gives drivers access to one of the largest networks of
public charging stations located in various office buildings, shopping
malls, hotels, and industrial parks in Singapore. Activation of and
payment for the chargers can be done through an RFID card or the Shell
Recharge smartphone app.

Wide variety of driver assistance systems.

An array of advanced assistance systems are on hand to enhance
comfort and safety when driving and parking the new BMW i4 and new BMW
4 Series Gran Coupé. The front collision warning system with brake
intervention and Cruise Control with brake function are both fitted as
standard, along with Speed Limit Info with no-overtaking indicator,
manual Speed Limit Assist and Lane Departure Warning with lane return.

Park Distance Control with sensors at both the front and rear comes
as standard, as does the Parking Assistant. This system enables
automated manoeuvring into and out of parking spaces, and also
features a Reversing Assist Camera and the Reversing Assistant. The
new BMW i4 M50 xDrive comes with Parking Assistant Plus as standard,
with Park View, Panorama View and Remote 3D View functions.

Display and control / operation system, connectivity: BMW
Operating System 8.5 and innovative digital services.

The latest generation of the BMW iDrive display and control/operation
system with QuickSeIect based on BMW Operating System 8.5 opens up a
new way of intuitively controlling vehicle functions and accessing
digital services in the new BMW i4 and new BMW 4 Series Gran Coupé.
With the digital BMW Curved Display screen grouping and the expanded
capabilities of the BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant, the
driver-centric cockpit has been geared squarely to operation using
touch control and natural language.

The climate control functions are also operated digitally in the new
BMW i4 and new BMW 4 Series Gran Coupé, enabling a further reduction
in the number of physical buttons and controls. The control/operation
system additionally comprises multifunction buttons on the steering
wheel, the BMW iDrive Controller and the optional BMW Head-Up Display,
which is standard on the new BMW i4 M50 xDrive.

BMW iDrive with QuickSeIect: functions shown on a single level
and selectable with rapid-access tech.

The system's QuickSeIect feature paves the way for an improved menu
structure that takes its cue from consumer electronics devices. It
allows the driver to navigate to functions directly from the newly
arranged home screen without having to enter submenus. The new, flat
menu structure makes it much easier to switch between different
functions and helps the driver to focus their attention on what's
happening on the road.

The new home screen continuously displays the navigation system's map
view or other individually configurable graphics on the control
display. On the same level, there is a vertical bar on the driver's
side of the display containing widgets that can now be individually
selected and arranged. The new BMW i4 also includes a widget for the
charging functions. Some of the widgets can also be swiped
horizontally to show additional content. The related functions can
then be called up directly with QuickSelect. And once the relevant
settings have been chosen, a quick tap on the home icon at the lower
edge of the control display is all it takes to return to the home
screen. Icons for direct access to the climate control menu, All Apps
menu and, if activated, Apple CarPlay@ and Android AutoTM
can also now be found next to the home icon.

BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant with additional languages
and new graphics.

At the same time, voice control using the BMW Intelligent Personal
Assistant is set to become even more interactive and intuitive in the
new BMW i4 and new BMW 4 Series Gran Coupé. There is now a choice of
two different looks for the graphics visualising the digital companion
on the control display, with additional graphics also appearing here
in response to selected voice commands. For instance, the BMW
Intelligent Personal Assistant acknowledges the request to look for a
gas station nearby by showing the image of a fuel pump, enriching the
dialogue between driver and vehicle.

BMW Maps navigation system with new charging-optimised route
guidance and Augmented View.

The latest version of BMW Maps also gives the new BMW i4 drivers
access both from the vehicle and via the My BMW App - to improved
functions that enable charging-optimised route planning over long
journeys at a level of precision no rival can match. The charging
stops are planned so that the selected destination is reached as
quickly as possible. The driver's preferred minimum charge level when
arriving at mid-journey stops and the final destination can be
adjusted in increments of five per cent and incorporated into the
route planning. The system can also give preference to charging
stations operated by selected providers and exclude others from the
route planning at the driver's request. The system will then propose
the latter only if there seems to be no alternative for an efficient
route without any large detours.

Additional information is provided for the selected charging
stations, such as supported connector types and payment options, as
well as the availability of sanitary, catering or shopping facilities
in the vicinity. The expected duration of the planned charging stop
and the resulting electricity costs can also be shown in advance. The
closer the vehicle gets to a scheduled mid-journey stop, the more
frequently the availability of the charging point is checked so that
an alternative route can be recommended in good time if necessary.
Regardless of the charging optimised route given, a constant stream of
alternative charging options are also displayed, e.g. for spontaneous
mid-journey breaks.

The BMW Live Cockpit Professional, which comes as standard in the new
BMW i4 M50 xDrive, adds not only the full-colour BMW Head-Up Display,
but also the Augmented View function. This offers contextual,
real-time information to complement the navigation system's map
display by showing a live video stream of the driver's view on the
control display or instrument cluster and augmenting it with
information that is currently relevant. At confusing junctions, for
instance, an animated directional arrow is integrated into the video
image to help the driver take the best turn-off for the planned route.

Personalisation and remote access with BMW ID and My BMW App.

BMW Operating System 8.5 also makes it even easier to personalise the
user experience in the new BMW i4 and new BMW 4 Series Gran Coupé.
Signing in to the vehicle by scanning a QR code with a smartphone is
all it takes to import the customer's personal profile, load
synchronisable settings and automatically link the key detected in the
vehicle with the BMW ID.

The vehicle is also automatically added to the My BMW App. Available
free of charge from the app stores for both iOS and Android, the My
BMW App acts as a universal digital interface that provides
information on the vehicle's condition, charging status or remaining
range at any time. Depending on the car's specification, it also gives
the user access to various remote functions. For example, the vehicle
can be located remotely via the My BMW App and the doors locked and
unlocked. The Remote 3D View and Remote Inside View functions included
with the standard Parking Assistant Plus in the new BMW i4 M50 xDrive
give drivers the ability to call up a three dimensional live image of
their vehicle's immediate vicinity on their smartphone.

Besides this, the My BMW App can also be used to send destination
addresses from the user's smartphone to the vehicle's navigation
system for route planning and to initiate, purchase or extend
ConnectedDrive Upgrades. It is also possible to control the charging
process and preconditioning for the new BMW i4 from the My BMW App.
The My Trips feature including Efficiency Trainer and monthly review
provides the user with data and evaluations for distances travelled,
consumption and average speed, as well as offering helpful tips for
driving more efficiently.

Optimum connectivity with Personal eSIM and 5G standard.

Customers of the new BMW i4 and new BMW 4 Series Gran Coupé can
activate the Personal eSlM as standard - in addition to the vehicle's
built-in mobile SIM. The Personal eSlM uses the 5G mobile
communications standard and allows the customer to use the
communications and connectivity features covered by their mobile
contract, even when they don't have their smartphone with them.

All phone functions can be operated with the BMW iDrive system or the
BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant. A low-radiation connection to the
vehicle's exterior antenna is used for making phone calls and
streaming data via the Personal eSlM.

Singapore.

BMW Asia announced the availability of the
new BMW 4 Series Coupé and new BMW 4 Series Convertible in Singapore,
the embodiment of the perfect combination of driving pleasure and
elegantly sporty design. The precisely modified exterior design of the
two models underscores their dynamic character and exclusive style.
The evolution of the BMW 4 Series range is anchored in the product
substance that has helped it achieve such outstanding popularity globally.

“The new BMW 4 Series Coupé and new BMW 4 Series Convertible exude an
unmistakable wow factor,” said Mr. Lars Nielsen, Managing Director,
BMW Group Asia. “With such athletic proportions, their strong, bold
character stands out at first glance. The emphasis on dynamic driving
characteristics combined with an emotionally rich design delivers an
even more elegant expression of individual style on the roads.”

Production of the new BMW 4 Series Coupé and new BMW 4 Series
Convertible will remain at BMW Group Plant Dingolfing, which is also
the birthplace of many other executive class and luxury segment cars
from the brand, as well as the BMW 8 Series sports car and the
high-performance BMW M4 models. In the interests of creating an even
more sustainable overall concept, growing importance is attached to
the use of secondary raw materials – alongside further optimised use
of materials and energy-optimised production methods.

Distinct characters with a shared focus on driving pleasure.

The new BMW 4 Series Coupé combines its dynamically flowing lines and
elegantly stretched proportions with a body optimised for extra
handling agility and boasting exceptional torsional rigidity, plus a
chassis tuned squarely for dynamic excellence.

Passengers in the new BMW 4 Series Convertible’s four seats can
sample the sporty driving experience characteristic of the BMW 4
Series together with the joy of open-top motoring with its panel bow
soft-top roof, which combines the solidity of a retractable hardtop
with the classical aesthetic of a fabric hood. The roof’s electric
drive mechanism can be activated while travelling at up to 50km/h; the
opening/closing process takes 18 seconds.

Progressive style and an aura of carefully honed refinement.

The M Sport package brings an M leather steering wheel in three-spoke
design with a flat-bottomed rim and a discreet centre marking that
makes the new BMW 4 Series Coupé and new BMW 4 Series Convertible
stand out with their modern and sporty design.

Detail revisions for the instrument panel, digital climate control.

The introduction of the upgraded BMW iDrive with QuickSelect also
brings improved operation of the ventilation and climate control
functions in the new BMW 4 Series Coupé and new
BMW 4 Series Convertible. Temperature selection and intensity of
ventilation can now be adjusted by touch via the BMW Curved Display or
by voice command with the help of the BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant.

The standard ambient lighting in the new BMW 4 Series Coupé and new
BMW 4 Series Convertible now also includes contour lighting integrated
into the trim around the central seam vents. Like the lighting for the
footwells, the storage compartment in the front section of the centre
console and the door openers, this can be adjusted for colour and
brightness according to personal preference from nine colours. The
functionality of the interior lighting also includes an atmospheric
Welcome and Goodbye Animation and light signals indicating an open
door or incoming phone call.

The standard-fit sport seats combine with interior surfaces in
Sensatec perforated. Both models can also be specified with
BMW Individual Merino leather trim in three colours.

Powerful, efficient, and supremely assured.

The line-up of powertrains for the new BMW 4 Series range comprises
powerful and highly efficient petrol and diesel engines featuring
BMW TwinPower Turbo technology and electrification in the form of 48V
mild hybrid technology. The auxiliary electric drive takes the form of
a 48V starter generator and makes output of 8 kW/11 hp instantly
available in response to the slightest movement of the accelerator.
This electric boost enhances the drive system’s dynamic response when
accelerating off the line and putting in mid-range bursts of speed.
All the drive units deliver an exceptional blend of sporting driving
pleasure and fuel economy, all are part of the current modular
generation of Efficient Dynamics engines and all are mated to an
eight-speed Steptronic Sport transmission as standard. The shift
paddles on the steering wheel, which also come as standard in the new
BMW 4 Series Coupé and new BMW 4 Series Convertible, allow quick
manual interventions in the gear selection process, adding to the
dynamic driving experience.

Highly efficient engines, intelligent lightweight design and
optimised aerodynamic attributes make a significant contribution to
enhancing driving pleasure in the new BMW 4 Series Coupé and new
BMW 4 Series Convertible, at the same time as lowering fuel
consumption and emissions. With a Cd as low as 0.25 in the
case of the coupé and as low as 0.27 for the convertible, the two
models can claim an impressive drag coefficient.

Bespoke chassis technology for a sporty driving experience.

Excellent body rigidity, intelligent lightweight design, 50 : 50
weight distribution and optimised aerodynamic properties provide an
ideal basis for endowing the new BMW 4 Series Coupé and new BMW
4 Series Convertible with remarkably agile and dynamic handling
abilities. This is further helped by sophisticated chassis technology
that has been tuned precisely for the weight spread at hand.

Lift-related dampers refine the balance between captivating sporting
prowess and superb long-distance comfort, with M Sports suspension
with variable sport steering and M sport brakes as standard. Various
options are available for customising the car’s character, including
adaptive M suspension.

Wide variety of systems for automated driving and parking.

The range of systems for automated driving and parking is just as
extensive. The new BMW 4 Series Coupé and new BMW 4 Series Convertible
are fitted as standard with the front collision warning system with
brake intervention, Cruise Control with brake function, Speed Limit
Info with no-overtaking indicator, manual Speed Limit Assist and Lane
Departure Warning with lane return.

Park Distance Control with sensors at both the front and rear is also
part of standard specification. The Parking Assistant, likewise
standard, enables automated manoeuvring into and out of parking
spaces, as well as featuring a Reversing Assist Camera and the
Reversing Assistant.

The new BMW Operating System 8.5 and innovative digital services.

The enhanced BMW iDrive featuring QuickSelect is packaged together
with the BMW Curved Display and BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant,
meaning it has been carefully geared to operation using the
touchscreen and natural language. The control/operation system in the
new BMW 4 Series Coupé and new BMW 4 Series Convertible additionally
comprises multifunction buttons on the steering wheel and, as an
option, the BMW Head-Up Display.

The new BMW Operating System 8.5 home screen continuously displays
the navigation system’s map view or other individually configurable
graphics on the control display. On the same level, widgets appear in
a vertical arrangement on the driver’s side of the display. Drivers
can switch between them with a vertical swipe of the finger. The
QuickSelect feature allows the function selected in this way to be
activated directly without having to enter a submenu. And once the
relevant settings have been chosen, a quick tap on the home icon at
the lower edge of the control display is all it takes to return to the
home screen. Icons for direct access to the climate control menu, All
Apps menu and, if activated, Apple CarPlay® and Android
Auto™ can also now be found next to the home icon.

BMW Maps navigation system now with Augmented View.

The BMW Maps navigation system forms part of the standard BMW Live
Cockpit Plus. Following the introduction of BMW Operating System 8.5
in the new BMW 4 Series Coupé and new BMW 4 Series Convertible, the
system now makes it even easier to input destinations and can offer
additional information while driving.

Personalisation using the BMW ID and My BMW App.

Drivers of the new BMW 4 Series Coupé and new BMW 4 Series
Convertible will also find it easier to use their BMW ID to
personalise the user experience. Signing in to the vehicle by using a
smartphone to scan a QR code is all it will take to import the
customer’s personal profile, load synchronisable settings and
automatically link the key detected in the vehicle with the BMW ID.

Munich / Beijing. At Auto China 2024 in Beijing, the
BMW Group presents the latest progress in its change towards
electrification, digitalisation and circularity. World premieres of
new BMW and MINI models take centre stage. The BMW Vision Neue Klasse,
which heralds the next generation of BMW vehicles, is on show for the
first time in China.

„With the NEUE KLASSE, we are carrying BMW into the future: in
design, technology and philosophy. It begins already next year when we
will release the NEUE KLASSE onto the market. Not with niche models –
but starting in our most successful, highest-volume segments,“ says
Oliver Zipse, Chairman of the Board of Management of BMW AG.

The BMW Vision Neue Klasse signals the start of a new era of
individual mobility and provides a glimpse of the BMW brand's future
model generation. It is rich in digital experiences, locally
emission-free and circular in the long term to ensure typical BMW
driving pleasure for future generations. Production of the Neue Klasse
series models will start in 2025, initially at the BMW Group plant in
Debrecen and shortly afterwards in China.

The brand's most popular electric vehicle worldwide is currently the
BMW i4, the new version of which will celebrate its world premiere at
Auto China 2024. The success of the BMW i4 confirms the BMW Group's
open technology approach, which makes it possible to produce vehicles
with purely electric drive systems and highly efficient combustion
engines on a common platform. In Beijing, the new BMW i4 will be shown
to the public for the first time together with the BMW 4 Series Gran
Coupé's combustion engine variants, which have also been further developed.

The world premiere of the MINI Aceman at Auto China 2024 marks the
third member of the brand's new model family. The all-electric
crossover model closes the gap between the new MINI Cooper and the new
MINI Countryman.

"What the NEUE KLASSE is to BMW, the New MINI Family is to MINI:
the most desirable product range in the history of the brand and the
biggest investment we ever made in MINI. At just over four metres
long, the Aceman embodies the basic idea of the original, iconic MINI
of 1959: progressive design, optimal use of space and a minimal
footprint.," said Jochen Goller, member of the Board of
Management of BMW AG, responsible for Customer, Brand and Sales.

The Beijing International Automotive Exhibition, in short: Auto
China, is one of the most important trade fairs in the international
automotive industry. The 18th edition of the exhibition, which
alternates with Auto Shanghai, will be held under the theme "New
Era, New Cars" and will be open to the public from 25 April to 4
May 2024. At the China International Exhibition Centre in Beijing, car
manufacturers, suppliers and service providers from all over the world
will present their new models, products and technologies. The BMW
Group brands will present their current product range on an exhibition
area of around 2,000 square metres.

China premiere: The BMW Vision Neue Klasse.

The BMW Vision Neue Klasse combines the BMW Group's innovative
strength and development expertise in the key future fields of
electrification, digitalisation and circularity. A reinterpretation of
the brand's typical design goes hand in hand with the progress
embodied by the Vision vehicle. A clear design language reduced to the
essentials with generous surfaces and few striking lines creates an
almost monolithic body. Characteristic features such as the BMW
radiator grille and the Hofmeister kink counter-swing on the C-pillar.
are brought into even sharper focus.

In the interior, the next generation of BMW iDrive offers a unique
digital user experience that merges the real and virtual worlds. It
consistently puts the driver and his needs at the centre. In addition
to the multifunction buttons on the steering wheel and the Central
Display, the driver can interact with the vehicle using the innovative
BMW Panoramic Vision. For the first time, it projects information
across the entire width of the windscreen and is complemented in the
Neue Klasse series by the enhanced BMW 3D Head-Up Display. Analogue
controls are reduced to a minimum in the BMW Vision Neue Klasse.

The increased use of secondary raw materials, resource-conserving
production methods and all-electric drive with sixth-generation BMW
eDrive technology will reduce the CO2 footprint of the Neue
Klasse over the entire life cycle of the vehicles. In order to
increase recyclability and take a decisive step towards a circular
economy, the variety of materials used has also been reduced. An
improved dismantling concept also helps to optimise the recycling of
Neue Klasse vehicles.

World premiere: The new BMW i4, the new BMW 4 Series Gran Coupé.

The appeal of pure electric premium mobility is also being
consistently enhanced in the current model range of the BMW brand. The
BMW i4 will be available in four model variants on the world's
automotive markets as part of an extensive model revision. The
Connected Home Charging Package for intelligent, solar- and
load-optimised charging at home will be offered in the first pilot
markets. The BMW i4 also offers the Plug & Charge Multi Contract
function, which enables charging at fast charging stations without an
app or card.

The latest advances in digitalisation are represented by the latest
generation of BMW iDrive with QuickSelect based on BMW Operating
System 8.5, which is available in both the new BMW i4 and the
combustion engine models of the new BMW 4 Series Gran Coupé. With the
BMW Curved Display and the BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant, the
enhanced BMW iDrive is consistently geared towards operation via touch
functions and natural speech. The digital update in the new BMW i4 and
the new BMW 4 Series Gran Coupé is accompanied by a redesign of the
instrument panel. New steering wheels, interior trims and seat
upholstery add modern accents to the premium ambience of all model variants.

On the exterior, the sporty profile of the premium mid-range models,
which are extremely successful with both all-electric and conventional
drive systems, has been sharpened by the redesign of the BMW radiator
grille and headlights. In conjunction with the optional adaptive LED
headlights, all models also feature exclusive laser rear lights. The
range of exterior colours for the BMW i4 and the BMW 4 Series Gran
Coupé has been extended to include the new Cape York Green metallic
and Fire Red metallic variants. New aerodynamic 19-inch and 20-inch
wheels are also available.

World premiere: the new MINI Aceman.

With its all-electric drive, progressive crossover proportions and
innovative digital features, the new MINI Aceman brings fresh impetus
to the premium small car segment. It combines the brand's hallmark
agility with creative use of space and high functionality, making it
the ideal companion in the city. With four doors and a large tailgate,
the MINI Aceman is just over four metres long and offers room for five
passengers and plenty of storage space for everyday use and weekend excursions.

As a character in its own right, the MINI Aceman appeals to customers
who value the expression of individuality and personality in an urban
environment. Its reduced, purist exterior design with clearly defined
contours and strong edges is an expression of the new MINI design
language "Charismatic Simplicity".

The intelligent interior concept maximises space by cleverly
arranging seats and stowage compartments to make the most of the
available room. The expressive and colourful interior design is made
possible by the use of high-quality materials and innovative
technologies such as the 3D knitting process for the textile surfaces.
The MINI Interaction Unit with circular OLED display, MINI Experience
Modes and dynamic projections on the dashboard and door sills provide
a holistic user experience of light, motion, interaction and sound.

Sporting elegance to the power of 4.
The epitome of
driving pleasure in the premium midsize class.

When it comes to the premium segment of the midsize class, the number
4 stands for the perfect combination of driving pleasure and elegantly
sporty design. These have been hallmark brand values of BMW since its
earliest days, and the new BMW 4 Series Coupé and new BMW 4 Series
Convertible embody them even more intently than ever. The precisely
modified exterior design of the two models underscores their dynamic
character and exclusive style. Modern touches and new equipment
features bring a premium ambience of renewed sophistication to the
interior. Here, the cutting-edge cockpit design, including the BMW
Curved Display, provides the ideal stage for the latest evolution of
BMW iDrive with QuickSelect, which is based on the new BMW Operating
System 8.5.

New exterior paint finishes and light-alloy wheels, headlights with
an extremely striking design for the light sources and the now
optionally available Laserlight rear lights mark out the latest
advances in the exterior of the two models. Step inside the sporting
two-door models and the key new features of the cabin are immediately
apparent: the revised design of the steering wheels and instrument
panel, the seat coverings, the interior trim elements and the now
optionally available CraftedClarity glass applications for selected
controls. Alongside the introduction of the new BMW iDrive with
QuickSelect as standard, customers can now also choose to add an
Augmented View display for the BMW Maps navigation system as an option
on their new BMW 4 Series.

Production of the new BMW 4 Series Coupé and new
BMW 4 Series Convertible will remain at BMW Group Plant Dingolfing,
which is also the birthplace of many other executive class and luxury
segment cars from the brand, as well as the BMW 8 Series sports car
and the high-performance BMW M4 models. Its worldwide market launch
will get underway in March 2024.

Global segment leaders sharpen the sporting profile of the BMW brand.

The evolution of the BMW 4 Series range is anchored in the product
substance that has helped it achieve such outstanding popularity
across all the major car markets. In a market dominated by German
premium carmakers, the coupé and convertible enjoy clear leads in
their respective segments both globally and in their key individual markets.

The most important sales markets for the new BMW 4 Series Coupé and
new BMW 4 Series Convertible are the USA, Germany and China. Since the
market launch of the current model generation of the BMW 4 Series
Coupé, the US market has recorded the strongest demand. The BMW 4
Series Convertible has also been most popular in the USA to date.

This sales success has been accompanied by an extraordinarily high
level of customer satisfaction. In customer surveys, both the
BMW 4 Series Coupé and BMW 4 Series Convertible achieve excellent
approval ratings. Customers placed particular emphasis on the dynamic
driving characteristics and emotionally rich design of both models, as
well as a premium feel characterised by high material and build
quality. By attracting such positive responses from customers, the BMW
4 Series models have made a significant contribution to further
enhancing the brand’s profile as a maker of dynamically exceptional
and elegantly sporty premium cars.

Distinct characters with a shared focus on driving pleasure.

For the past two model generations, BMW has grouped its premium
midsize coupés and convertibles into their own model range. This has
highlighted their particularly intense focus on delivering the driving
pleasure for which the brand is renowned. The differentiation between
the new BMW 4 Series models and the BMW 3 Series in terms of design
can be found not only in their proportions and lines, but also their
distinctive front-end visuals. Wider tracks and specific tuning for
their chassis technology lay the groundwork for superlative dynamic
prowess. Within the BMW 4 Series range, the coupé and convertible
models represent distinct characters whose individual vehicle concepts
target different priorities.

The BMW 4 Series Coupé combines its dynamically flowing lines and
elegantly stretched proportions with a body optimised for extra
handling agility and boasting exceptional torsional rigidity, plus a
chassis tuned squarely for dynamic excellence. The individual-seat
character of the two rear seats helps to ensure that the passengers in
the second row also enjoy an intense driving experience. The folding
function of the three-section split rear seat bench increases the
versatility of the interior when it comes to accommodating items for
leisure activities and longer trips away.

Meanwhile, passengers in the BMW 4 Series Convertible’s four seats
can sample the sporty driving experience characteristic of the 4
Series together with the joy of open-top motoring. A particularly
stylish sense of elegance, for which the car’s low-slung silhouette is
principally responsible, also comes as standard. A highlight feature
specific to the BMW 4 Series Convertible is its panel bow soft-top
roof, which combines the solidity of a retractable hardtop with the
classical aesthetic of a fabric hood. The roof’s electric drive
mechanism can be activated while travelling at up to 50 km/h (31 mph);
the opening/closing process takes 18 seconds.

Taking steps to further reduce the company’s carbon footprint.

Highly efficient engines, intelligent lightweight design and
optimised aerodynamic attributes make a significant contribution to
enhancing driving pleasure in the new BMW 4 Series Coupé and new
BMW 4 Series Convertible, at the same time as lowering fuel
consumption and emissions. Meanwhile, the 48V mild hybrid technology
deployed on certain models sharpens power delivery and improves
efficiency. As well as the bonnet, front side panels and doors,
numerous chassis components are also made from aluminium. And with a
Cd as low as 0.25 in the case of the coupé and as low as
0.27 for the convertible, the two models can claim an impressive drag coefficient.

The sport seats for the new BMW 4 Series Coupé are trimmed in
M Performtex – the first time this surface material has been available
in the brand’s models – as part of a new production process generating
lower CO2 emissions. The new EfficiencyCoach in the My BMW
App offers helpful tips for more efficient driving. To this end, this
assistant system analyses the fuel consumption figures and compares
them with both the figures from the previous month and those achieved
by other drivers in the community with comparable engines. It then
uses this information as the basis for recommendations on more
efficient driving.

In the interests of creating an even more sustainable overall
concept, growing importance is attached to the use of secondary raw
materials –alongside further optimised use of materials and
energy-optimised production methods. For the BMW brand, the twin goals
of increasing sustainability and achieving premium standards are
inextricably linked, rather than competing factors.

As well as working tirelessly to optimise vehicle efficiency, the
BMW Group is committed to the Paris Climate Agreement. And it has
teamed up with the renowned Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi) to
put in place CO2e reduction targets for its supply chain,
production and use phase as part of its drive to achieve climate
neutrality. At the heart of the company’s ambitious sustainability
goals is the aim of cutting CO2 emissions by 40 per cent
per vehicle across the entire value chain by 2030, compared with the
figure from 2019. At the same time, the BMW Group is pursuing the
objective of full climate neutrality throughout the value chain by
2050 at the latest.

Exterior design.
Striking visual cues point the way to
captivating dynamics.

Sporting potency and elegance are the key themes reflected with
authenticity in the design of the BMW 4 Series models. Precise
modifications to their exterior visuals enable the new BMW 4 Series
Coupé and new BMW 4 Series Convertible to express their unique
characters even more clearly. The new features sharpen the profile of
the two models and provide eye-catching pointers to their captivating
dynamics, exclusivity and technological advances.

With their distinctive lines and clean surface treatment in the
brand’s modern design language, the coupé and convertible members of
the BMW 4 Series line-up exude driving pleasure and inimitable style.
The features of the optional M Sport package add further punch to the
cars’ dynamic appearance. They include a diffuser element in the lower
section of the rear bumper, which is now painted in Black high-gloss.
In addition, the exhaust tailpipes integrated into the rear apron on
the left and right have grown from 90 millimetres to 100 millimetres
in diameter. As an extension to the M Sport package, customers can
also order their cars with the M Sport package Pro and M Carbon
exterior package.

Newly designed headlights, innovative Laserlight rear lights.

Design cues specific to the BMW 4 Series include the visually
powerful front end shaped by slim LED headlights and a vertically
arranged BMW kidney grille. The air intakes of the strikingly
forward-angled grille have a mesh structure, both in standard form and
if the M Sport package is specified. Their surround now comes in matt chrome.

The new BMW 4 Series Coupé and new BMW 4 Series Convertible also
feature visually and functionally upgraded headlights. The LED units
in their inner workings, which provide all the light functions, have
been redesigned and have a new structure. Low and high beam are
generated from a single LED module. And a pair of vertical and subtly
arrow-shaped LED units house the side light, daytime driving light and
turn signal indicator functions. The technically focused look of the
new light sources gives the headlights a high-quality and progressive appearance.

Adaptive LED Headlights with non-dazzling matrix high beam are
available as an option. They can be identified by blue inlays and
include urban lights and a cornering light function. The prism
structure of the LED units for the urban lights provides a striking
contrast against the uniform illumination of the daytime driving light units.

Also offered as part of the M Sport package Pro and if the Adaptive
LED Headlights are specified are M Shadowline lights with dark inner
accents. If the optional Comfort Access is fitted, the headlights
generate a Welcome Light Animation once the driver and vehicle key
come within three metres of the car.

Examples of the new BMW 4 Series Coupé and new BMW 4 Series
Convertible specified with Adaptive LED Headlights are also fitted
with super-expressive Laserlight rear lights. This model-specific
version of an innovative lighting effect employs a technology first
seen in the BMW M4 CSL high-performance special edition produced in a
limited run of 1,000 examples. Here, laser diodes each illuminate a
fibre optic bundle, giving the rear units an intricate light graphic.
The precise lines of the three-dimensional Laserlight gives these rear
lights – which are making their debut in a volume-produced car – an
exclusive and unmistakable design.

New exterior paint shades and light-alloy wheels.

Customers can give the outside of their new BMW 4 Series Coupé and
new BMW 4 Series Convertible a personal touch with a choice of two
solid and eight metallic paint finishes. Cape York Green metallic and
Fire Red metallic are new additions to the range. And a wide variety
of BMW Individual paint finishes and BMW Individual special paint
finishes are also offered.

Attractive new additions can also be found in the selection of
optional light-alloy wheels. The new BMW 4 Series Coupé and new BMW 4
Series Convertible are both offered for the first time with three
new 19-inch variants. The new M light-alloy wheels in double-spoke
design can be ordered in either Jet Black or a bi-colour finish. And
the new BMW Individual light-alloy wheels also have a Y-spoke design
and are finished in Midnight Grey.

Interior and equipment.
Progressive style and an aura of
carefully honed refinement.

Standard-fitted sport seats and newly designed steering wheels feed
into the intensity of the driving experience in the new BMW 4 Series
Coupé and new BMW 4 Series Convertible. The large BMW Curved Display
brings a fresh and particularly modern interpretation of the driver
focus for which the brand is renowned. High-quality, meticulously
crafted materials and a new operating concept for ventilation and
climate control systems add to the cockpit’s premium allure. The
modifications carried out to the interior of the new BMW 4 Series
Coupé and new BMW 4 Series Convertible ensure those on board can enjoy
driving pleasure with progressive style and long-distance comfort in
an ambience of carefully honed refinement.

Among the cutting-edge new features is a version of the optionally
available seat surfaces that is making its debut in the new
BMW 4 Series Coupé and is produced using more sustainable methods.
Added to which, new interior trim strips are available for both the
coupé and convertible. And standard specification now also includes
ambient lighting and electrically folding exterior mirrors. The range
of optional equipment has been restructured to enable particularly
targeted individualisation.

New steering wheels with standard gearshift paddles.

The latest-generation steering wheels available for the new BMW 4
Series Coupé and new BMW 4 Series Convertible stand out with their
modern and sporty design. As standard, the driver will find in front
of them a newly designed sports leather steering wheel with a
polygonal rim and two spokes. The M Sport package now brings an
M leather steering wheel in three-spoke design with a flat-bottomed
rim and a discreet centre marking.

Both versions of the newly designed steering wheels have illuminated
multifunction buttons and gearshift paddles. Now fitted as standard,
the paddles enable particularly swift manual interventions in the gear
selection process and underscore the sharper sporting profile of the
new BMW 4 Series models.

Detail revisions for the instrument panel, digital climate control.

The introduction of the upgraded BMW iDrive with QuickSelect also
brings improved operation of the ventilation and climate control
functions in the new BMW 4 Series Coupé and in the new
BMW 4 Series Convertible. This is a prime example of advanced
digitalisation at work and enables a further reduction in the number
of physical buttons and controls in the cockpit. Temperature
selection, intensity of ventilation and – if the relevant features are
specified – seat and steering wheel heating can now be adjusted by
touch via the BMW Curved Display or by voice command with the help of
the BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant. New adjustment controls for
the air vent grilles in the centre of the instrument panel and on the
driver’s and front passenger side of the cockpit allow the direction
of airflow to be adjusted using rotating and tilting movements.
Specifying optional Sensatec trim for the instrument panel means
customers will now find a further refined surface structure which
further highlights the interior’s modern premium ambience.

The standard ambient lighting in the new BMW 4 Series Coupé and new
BMW 4 Series Convertible now also includes contour lighting integrated
into the trim around the central seam vents. Like the lighting for the
footwells, the storage compartment in the front section of the centre
console and the door openers, this can be adjusted for colour and
brightness according to personal preference. Users can choose from
nine colours. The functionality of the interior lighting also includes
an atmospheric Welcome and Goodbye Animation and light signals
indicating an open door or incoming phone call.

Premiere for M Performtex seat covers in the new BMW 4 Series Coupé.

The standard-fit sport seats combine with interior surfaces in
Sensatec perforated. The Vernasca leather trim with decorative
quilting available as an option for the new BMW 4 Series Coupé and for
the new BMW 4 Series Convertible is now also offered in the new
bi-colour variant Black/Red. And both models can also be specified
with BMW Individual Merino leather trim in three colours.

When ordered with the M Sport package or in M Performance form, the
new BMW 4 Series Coupé comes with seat surfaces in black M Performtex.
Making its debut in a BMW model, this velours covering combines high
material quality and a sporty design with low weight and a
sustainability-optimised production method.

New interior trim strips, exclusive touches with CraftedClarity.

The selection of available interior trim strips has also been
extensively revised, with Dark Graphite matt now standard
specification for the new BMW 4 Series Coupé and new BMW 4 Series
Convertible. The M Sport package includes interior trim strips in
Aluminium Rhombicle Anthracite. Also on the options list are Fineline
Light open-pored and Grey Blue Ash open-pored fine-wood trim, and M
interior trim carbon fibre.

The use of extremely high-quality materials also allows distinctive
touches to be included in other areas of the interior to enhance its
modern premium character. Electroplated applications for the control
panel in the doors, which includes the window controls and locking
switch, are available for the new BMW 4 Series Coupé and the new BMW 4
Series Convertible. And customers can also specify CraftedClarity
glass applications – another new addition to the options list. These
give the gear selector lever, BMW iDrive Controller and Start/Stop
button a particular air of exclusivity, both visually and in how they
feel to the touch.

Powertrain and driving experience.
Powerful, efficient
and supremely assured.

The line-up of powertrains for the new BMW 4 Series range comprises
powerful and highly efficient petrol and diesel engines featuring
BMW TwinPower Turbo technology and electrification in the form of 48V
mild hybrid technology. All the drive units deliver an exceptional
blend of sporting driving pleasure and fuel economy, all are part of
the current modular generation of Efficient Dynamics engines and all
are mated to an eight-speed Steptronic Sport transmission as standard.
The shift paddles on the steering wheel, which also come as standard
in the new BMW 4 Series Coupé and new BMW 4 Series Convertible, allow
quick manual interventions in the gear selection process, adding to
the dynamic driving experience.

Straight-six engines can be found under the bonnet of the M
Performance versions in both model series (see separate chapter), as
well as in the new BMW 430d xDrive Coupé and BMW 430d Convertible,
whose diesel unit has an output of 210 kW/286 hp. The line-up also
includes two four-cylinder petrol engines developing 135 kW/184 hp and
180 kW/245 hp respectively and a 140 kW/190 hp four-cylinder diesel.
The engine’s power is fed to the road via either classical rear-wheel
drive or the BMW xDrive intelligent all-wheel-drive system, depending
on the model variant.

Mild hybrid technology optimises power delivery and efficiency.

All the six-cylinder in-line engines available for the new BMW 4
Series Coupé and new BMW 4 Series Convertible, as well as the
four-cylinder diesel unit, come with 48V mild hybrid technology for
sharper power delivery and greater efficiency. The auxiliary electric
drive takes the form of a 48V starter generator and makes output of
8 kW/11 hp instantly available in response to the slightest movement
of the accelerator. This electric boost enhances the drive system’s
dynamic response when accelerating off the line and putting in
mid-range bursts of speed. The electric drive unit also assists the
engine when travelling at a constant speed, allowing it to operate
within an efficiency-optimised load range as often as possible.

The mild hybrid system additionally allows the use of electric power
recuperated via Brake Energy Regeneration and stored in a 48V battery.
The energy harvested efficiently in this way is not only used for the
auxiliary electric drive, but also fed to the 12V electrical system
with the help of a voltage transformer. This allows the vehicle’s
electrical consumers to be operated even more efficiently.

Lift-related dampers refine the balance between captivating sporting
prowess and superb long-distance comfort. Various options are
available for customising the car’s character, including M Sport
suspension, adaptive M suspension with variable sport steering, and
M Sport brakes.

The standout optional extra is the
Driving Assistant Professional package comprising the Steering and
Lane Control Assistant, Active Cruise Control with Stop&Go
function, automatic Speed Limit Assist, route speed control and
traffic light recognition.

Park Distance Control with sensors at both the front and rear is also
part of standard specification. The Parking Assistant, likewise
standard, enables automated manoeuvring into and out of parking
spaces, as well as featuring a Reversing Assist Camera and the
Reversing Assistant. There is also the option of the Parking Assistant
Plus with Park View, Panorama View and Remote 3D View functions.

The M Performance models in the new BMW 4 Series range.
Distinctive characters top the model range.

The new BMW 4 Series Coupé and new BMW 4 Series Convertible range is
spearheaded by elite sporting models cast in the familiar M mould. The
performance cars from BMW M GmbH showcase the dynamic potential woven
into the vehicle concepts of the BMW 4 Series range to highly
impressive effect. Extremely powerful six-cylinder in-line engines, a
bespoke chassis set-up and signature M design cues both inside and out
mark them out as a proposition apart.

The M Performance models in the BMW 4 Series are available with both
petrol and diesel engines, each with a displacement of 3.0 litres.
The M-typical performance attributes of these straight-six units are
underpinned by, among other things, the latest M TwinPower Turbo
technology – which is tailored individually to the engine at hand.
Another shared feature is the 48V mild hybrid technology, whose output
of 8 kW/11 hp produces an electric boost effect that gives the engines
even sharper response.

The six-cylinder in-line petrol engine in the BMW M440i xDrive Coupé
and BMW M440i xDrive Convertible generates maximum output of
275 kW/374 hp and peak torque of 500 Nm (369 lb-ft). The BMW
M440d xDrive Coupé and BMW M440d xDrive Convertible, meanwhile, are
powered by a straight-six diesel unit that produces maximum output of
250 kW/340 hp and peak torque of 700 Nm (516 lb-ft). M Sport
suspension with variable sport steering can be found on the standard
equipment list for the range-topping models, along with an eight-speed
Steptronic Sport transmission with an ultra-sharp shift action,
M Sport brakes and the M Sport differential.

New-look BMW kidney grille, black tailpipe finishers as standard.

An array of select design flourishes announces the dynamic character
of the M Performance models even more vividly. For instance, the new
edition of these models features a BMW kidney grille with a surround
in Black high-gloss and horizontally arranged bars adorned by an M
logo. All the front apron elements that were previously finished in
Cerium Grey now come in Black high-gloss. As a result, the models’
appearance when viewed from the front recalls the design of the BMW M4
high-performance sports cars to an even greater extent.

At the rear end of the M Performance models, trapezoidal tailpipe
trim signals the presence of the ultra-potent power unit under the
bonnet. They are now in Black high-gloss as standard, meaning that all
elements of the M High-gloss Shadowline trim option are already
included in the standard specification of these models.

Exclusive touches: M exterior mirror caps, carbon fibre diffuser.

Another design element from the BMW M4 range has been incorporated
into the flanks of the latest M Performance models from the
BMW 4 Series, with M exterior mirrors in twin-stalk design included as
a standard feature.

The optional M Carbon exterior package comprises exterior mirror caps
and inserts for the outer air intakes made from carbon
fibre-reinforced plastic (CFRP). The new BMW 4 Series Coupé also
sports a carbon-fibre Gurney lip rear spoiler. This optional extra
also adds a carbon-fibre diffuser in the lower section of the rear
apron that is exclusive to the M Performance models.

Heightened sports car ambience in the cabin.

Sport seats trimmed in the new M Performtex upholstery for Coupé
models and Vernasca leather for the Convertible, interior trim
elements in Aluminium Rhombicle Anthracite, M door sill trim,
M pedals, an M driver’s footrest and M-specific graphics for the BMW
Curved Display characterise the distinctive aura inside the M
Performance models. M Sport seats trimmed in Vernasca leather can be
specified as an option for the range-topping versions of the new BMW
4 Series Coupé and are available in a choice of Black with blue
contrast quilting or the new Black/Coral Red bi-colour finish.

A new version of the M leather steering wheel turns up the sports car
feel inside the flagship models another notch. Its flat-bottomed rim,
red centre marker and contrast stitching in BMW M GmbH colours help to
make the driving experience aboard the M Performance models in the new
BMW 4 Series range even more engaging.

Display and control/operation system, connectivity.
The
new BMW Operating System 8.5 and innovative digital services.

The advances made in terms of digitalisation in the latest edition of
the BMW 4 Series are also clear to see. This is mainly thanks to the
upgraded BMW iDrive display and control/operation system with
QuickSelect based on BMW Operating System 8.5. In order to provide
intuitive, easy control of numerous functions along with
access
to innovative digital services, the latest-generation BMW iDrive
system fitted in the new BMW 4 Series Coupé and the new BMW 4 Series
Convertible features a new-look home screen and QuickSelect rapid
access tech, bringing an improved menu structure that takes its cue
from consumer electronics devices.

The new BMW iDrive helps to deliver a
focused, assured driving experience by showing the right information
in the right place.

BMW iDrive with QuickSelect: functions shown on a single level
and selectable with rapid-access tech.

The new flat menu structure makes it much easier to activate the
desired functions and settings. The digital content – just like the
hardware in the form of the BMW Curved Display – is designed to
enhance the driver focus for which BMW is renowned.

BMW Maps navigation system now with Augmented View.

The cloud-based BMW Maps navigation system forms part of the standard
BMW Live Cockpit Plus. Following the introduction of BMW Operating
System 8.5 in the new BMW 4 Series Coupé and new BMW 4 Series
Convertible, the system now makes it even easier to input destinations
and can offer additional information while driving.

Another new feature is the Augmented View function which, like the
BMW Head-Up Display, is available by specifying the optional BMW Live
Cockpit Professional. This supplements the navigation system’s map
display by showing a live video stream of the driver’s view on the
control display or instrument cluster and augmenting it with tips and
information to match the context. At confusing junctions, for
instance, an animated directional arrow is integrated into the video
image to help the driver take the best turn-off for the planned route.
The Augmented View function can also come to the driver’s aid when
searching for a parking spot by showing supplementary information.

Personalisation using the BMW ID and My BMW App.

Drivers of the new BMW 4 Series Coupé and new BMW 4 Series
Convertible will also find it easier to use their BMW ID to
personalise the user experience. In future, signing in to the vehicle
by using a smartphone to scan a QR code is all it will take to import
the customer’s personal profile, load synchronisable settings and
automatically link the key detected in the vehicle with the BMW ID.

The vehicle is also added to the My BMW App without the customer
having to do anything. Available free of charge from the app stores
for both iOS and Android, the My BMW App acts as a universal digital
interface that provides information at any time on the vehicle’s
status, for example, its remaining range and any servicing and
maintenance requirements. Depending on the car’s specification, it
also enables remote operation of functions such as locating the
vehicle, locking and unlocking the doors or monitoring the car’s
immediate vicinity and interior with Remote View. The My BMW app can
additionally be used to send destination addresses from a smartphone
to the vehicle’s navigation system. The My Trips feature including
Efficiency Trainer and monthly review provides the user with data and
evaluations for distances travelled, fuel consumption and average speed.

Optimum connectivity with Personal eSIM and 5G mobile standard.

Customers of the new BMW 4 Series Coupé and the news
BMW 4 Series Convertible can activate the Personal eSIM as standard,
in addition to the vehicle’s built-in mobile SIM. This enables
the vehicle to use the 5G mobile communications standard. The Personal
eSIM allows the customer to use the communications and connectivity
functions covered by their mobile contract from their car with ease –
even in situations where they don’t have their smartphone with them.
This also includes data streaming via the WiFi hotspot.

A low-radiation connection to the vehicle’s exterior antenna is used
for making phone calls and streaming data via the Personal eSIM. All
phone functions can be operated with the BMW iDrive system or the BMW
Intelligent Personal Assistant. The Personal eSIM can be used in all
countries where BMW Connected Drive services are available. It extends
the customer’s existing mobile phone contract, which may result in
additional costs.

Parking fees and fuel bills can be paid directly from the vehicle.

In many European countries, the BMW ID allows drivers of the new
BMW 4 Series Coupé and BMW 4 Series Convertible to pay parking fees
directly from their vehicle. The vehicle automatically detects whether
the service is available upon arrival in a parking zone and displays
the payment function if the zone is covered by one of the linked
providers. The parking booking can be paid quickly and simply using
the credit card registered in the My BMW App. The booking ends
automatically when the vehicle exits the parking space again.

And drivers in Germany also have the option of settling fuel bills
digitally from their car as soon as they have refuelled at
participating filling stations. As with the parking fee payment
service, this is done using the credit card information first
registered in the vehicle apps.

BMW M Performance Parts.
Fuelled by proven expertise in
the world of motor sport.

More than ever, the inimitable combination of driving pleasure and
elegantly sporty design presented by the new BMW 4 Series models sets
them apart from the crowd in the premium segment of the midsize class.
The vehicle concept underpinning the new BMW 4 Series Coupé and new
BMW 4 Series Convertible offers extraordinary potential for delivering
superior driving characteristics. And now the latest upgrades for the
exterior and interior are available to showcase their dynamic
character with even greater intensity. Alongside the M Sport package,
M Sport package Pro and M Carbon exterior package available as
factory-fit options, the items included in the BMW M Performance Parts
range offer further scope for sharpening the profile of the new BMW 4
Series Coupé and new BMW 4 Series Convertible in careful detail.

The model-specific retrofit options from the Original BMW Accessories
range were developed using the proven expertise of BMW M GmbH in motor
sport. They underscore the dynamic aura of the new BMW 4 Series Coupé
and new BMW 4 Series Convertible and rise to the technical challenges
presented by the need for lightweight design and aerodynamics. With
exclusive design, high-class materials and top-notch quality, these
items for the exterior, chassis and cockpit go the extra mile to
transfer the feel of the race track to the road.

Among the items available to imbue the cars with race-inspired looks
are the M Performance front ornamental grille carbon fibre and the M
Performance side sill attachment part carbon fibre. The light-alloy
wheels available for the new BMW 4 Series Coupé and new BMW 4 Series
Convertible likewise enhance their visual exclusivity and can be
ordered in 18-inch or 19-inch format. Also offered are 20-inch M
Performance forged wheels. With their weight-reduced construction and
fitment with mixed-size/sports tyres for optimised transfer of
cornering forces, they also enhance the dynamic performance of the
cars. Interior equipment highlights include the M Performance seat
back pans in Alcantara/carbon fibre, the M Performance interior trim
strips carbon fibre and the M Performance door sill trim carbon fibre.

Press Contact: Kimberley Ng
Tel: +6568389532
E-mail: kimberley.ng@ctt.yespaygroup.com

Press Kit,Convertible,Coupé,4 Series,G22,G23,Product,BMW

Singapore. BMW Asia, Performance Motors Limited and
Performance Munich Autos today announced the availability of the
all-new BMW 4 Series Gran Coupé. With the original BMW 4 Series Gran
Coupé having enjoyed significant success, a second-generation model is
now being added to the latest 4 Series range. The all-new four-door
coupé captures the imagination with its noticeably enhanced driving
dynamics, a sharper design following the BMW brand’s new design
language, a refined premium feel for its interior and a host of
innovations in the areas of operation and connectivity. In addition to
the driving pleasure and sporting elegance for which BMW is renowned,
modern functionality is central to this gran coupé concept for the
premium midsize segment. Comfortable access to the rear compartment,
five full-size seats, a large tailgate and a variable-usage load
compartment ensure the all-new BMW 4 Series Gran Coupé retains its
model-specific skillset in everyday driving and on longer trips.

The performance version of the all-new BMW 4 Series Gran Coupé
courtesy of BMW M GmbH is available from the car’s Singapore launch
alongside two other model variants. All are built under a flexible
manufacturing process at BMW Group Plant Munich on the same line as
the all-electric BMW i4 and the BMW 3 Series Sedan and BMW 3 Series
Touring models.

Distinctive proportions, highly versatile interior.

The standalone character of the all-new BMW 4 Series Gran Coupé is
clearly expressed in its exterior design. Measuring 4,783 millimetres
in exterior length, 1,852 millimetres in width and 1,442 millimetres
in height, it has distinctive proportions combined with dynamically
stretched coupé lines. It is 143 millimetres longer, 27 millimetres
wider and 53 millimetres taller than its predecessor, while the track
widths have also grown – to 1,595 millimetres at the front (+50 mm)
and 1,623 millimetres at the rear (+29 mm). The wheelbase of 2,856
millimetres is 46 millimetres longer than the predecessor’s and 5
millimetres more than the figure for the 3 Series Sedan.

The model-specific body concept results in a versatile interior
offering generous amounts of space in the rear. The all-new BMW 4
Series Gran Coupé offers 470 litres of boot space, the primary
capacity in the directly viewable area of the boot having grown by 39
litres. Load capacity can be expanded to a maximum of 1,290 litres by
folding down the sections of the rear backrest, with its standard 40 :
20 : 40 split.

Expressive front end, elegant silhouette, powerful rear.

Bold lines and surfaces with a three-dimensional structure are the
defining elements of the all-new BMW 4 Series Gran Coupé’s expressive
front end. Dropping deep down at its centre is the large and
vertically prominent BMW kidney grille that transmits a feeling of
assured presence. The slim full-LED headlights come with U-shaped
fibre-optic light guides for the daytime driving lights. There is also
the option of Adaptive LED Headlights with BMW Laserlight including
BMW Selective Beam non-dazzling high beam assistant.

Precise lines, doors with frameless windows and flush-fitting
handles, and powerful shoulders shape the elegantly sporty silhouette
of the all-new BMW 4 Series Gran Coupé, while the roofline culminates
in a pronounced spoiler lip on the tailgate. Horizontal lines are the
dominant influence at the rear end. And the low-slung, muscular
stature of the car is also accentuated by a rear apron with vertical
aero lips at its outer edges and a black finish for its lower edge.
The stylishly darkened full-LED rear lights extend well into the flanks.

Bespoke design features add dynamic flourishes to M Sport cars and
the BMW M model. An M Carbon exterior package can be specified as an
option, and model-specific M Performance Parts are available as part
of the Genuine BMW Accessory range.

Interior: driving pleasure and spaciousness amid a premium
ambience.

Inside the all-new BMW 4 Series Gran Coupé, the high centre console
and flowing surface structure running from the instrument panel into
the door panels generate a cocooning feel in the front seats. The
Start/Stop button for the engine is positioned in a classily designed
control panel in the centre console, which also houses the BMW
Controller and the buttons for the Driving Experience Control unit and
electromechanical parking brake alongside the model-specific gearshift
lever. The rear seat bench with folding head restraints allows three
child seats to be fitted.

M Sport seats and an M Leather steering wheel come as standard on the
all-new BMW M440i xDrive Gran Coupé and BMW 430i Gran Coupé M Sport
Pro. The list of optional equipment provides extensive scope for
individualisation. Driving pleasure and comfort can be enhanced with
features such as seat ventilation, Vernasca (optional on the all-new
BMW 420i Gran Coupé) and BMW Individual leather trim options, Sensatec
or leather coverings for the instrument panel, a large glass
slide/tilt sunroof (standard on the BMW 430i Gran Coupé M Sport Pro)
and the Harman Kardon Surround Sound System (standard on the all-new
BMW M440i xDrive Gran Coupé and BMW 430i Gran Coupé M Sport Pro).

State-of-the-art four- and six-cylinder engines and 48V mild
hybrid technology provide clear boost for dynamism and efficiency.

The all-new BMW 4 Series Gran Coupé underscores its vividly enhanced
sporting credentials with a performance model at the top of the range.
The all-new BMW M440i xDrive Gran Coupé is powered by a 275 kW/374 hp
six-cylinder in-line petrol engine. The all-new BMW 430i Gran Coupé M
Sport Pro gives a debut to a new four-cylinder petrol engine which
develops 180 kW/245 hp and has an exhaust manifold integrated into the
cylinder head to further reduce emission levels. The four-cylinder
petrol engine in the all-new BMW 420i Gran Coupé produces maximum
output of 135 kW/184 hp.

In the all-new BMW M440i xDrive Gran Coupé, mild hybrid technology
further increases dynamism and efficiency. The 48V starter-generator
puts an extra 8 kW/11 hp on tap when accelerating off the line or
putting in a quick burst of speed. An additional battery helps to
further expand the scope for regenerating and storing brake energy.

The standard eight-speed Steptronic Sport transmission complements
its sharper shift dynamics and shift paddles on the steering wheel
with a Sprint function (standard on the all-new BMW M440i xDrive Gran
Coupé and BMW 430i Gran Coupé M Sport Pro). This prompts the
powertrain and shift characteristics to maximise dynamic performance
when putting in a sudden burst of speed or overtaking.

High body rigidity, optimised aerodynamic attributes.

The sporting characteristics of the all-new BMW 4 Series Gran Coupé
are also well served by a low centre of gravity and almost 50 : 50
weight distribution. An intelligent material mix has been employed to
optimise the weight of both the body and chassis technology. And the
bespoke body struts at the front end and in the rear axle area can
also take credit for the car’s superb handling agility and precision.

An active air flap control system comprising flaps at the top and
bottom, plus air curtains and an almost completely sealed underbody
optimise the car’s aerodynamics. The drag coefficient (Cd) of 0.26
measured for the all-new BMW 420i Gran Coupé, for example, represents
a reduction of 0.02 over its predecessor.

Sophisticated chassis technology with model-specific tuning.

Model-specific geometry, mounting and tuning for the sophisticated
chassis technology in the all-new BMW 4 Series Gran Coupé imbue it
with exceptional dynamic assurance. The two-joint spring strut front
axle and five-link rear axle have likewise been engineered to reduce
weight while increasing rigidity. Standard-fitted lift-related dampers
enhance both sports performance and ride comfort. Depending on the
spring travel, these provide extra damping to control body movement
when driving over large bumps, as well as preventing excessive dive.
The system reacts to minor imperfections in the road surface with low
damping forces that produce high levels of comfort.

The lift-related dampers are particularly firm in nature on the
all-new BMW 420i Gran Coupé with the standard M Sport suspension
specified. The adaptive M suspension (standard on the all-new BMW
M440i xDrive Gran Coupé and BMW 430i Gran Coupé M Sport Pro) combines
the characteristics of M Sport suspension with electronically
controlled dampers, and therefore offers the widest possible range of
driving experiences on the sporty-to-comfortable spectrum. Variable
sport steering is included with both suspension variants. Also
available as an option are M Sport brakes (standard on the all-new BMW
M440i xDrive Gran Coupé and BMW 430i Gran Coupé M Sport Pro).

The all-new BMW 420i Gran Coupé comes as standard with 18-inch M
light-alloy wheels. Standard specification for the all-new BMW M440i
xDrive Gran Coupé and BMW 430i Gran Coupé M Sport Pro includes 19-inch
M light-alloy wheels and an M Sport differential (optional on the
all-new BMW 430i Gran Coupé M Sport Pro) with electronically
controlled, fully variable locking function in the rear differential.

Wide array of driver assistance systems.

Some 40 assistance functions designed to enable comfortable and safe
driving and parking are available as standard or options for the
all-new BMW 4 Series Gran Coupé. Highlights include Active Cruise
Control with automatic Speed Limit Assist, route monitoring, plus
Steering and Lane Control Assistant.

Standard specification comprises front collision warning, Speed Limit
Info, Lane Departure Warning, Park Distance Control, the Reversing
Assist Camera and Parking Assistant with Reversing Assistant. Parking
Assistant Plus with Surround View and Remote 3D View can also be
ordered as an option.

Advanced connectivity and new digital services.

The driver and passengers in the all-new BMW 4 Series Gran Coupé
benefit from the extended possibilities provided by BMW Operating
System 7 as standard. Customers can take their pick of control
interface for the situation at hand: control display touchscreen,
familiar BMW Controller, multifunction buttons on the steering wheel,
voice control or optional BMW gesture control. There is also access to
a range of highly advanced digital services, including the BMW
Intelligent Personal Assistant, BMW Digital Key and Remote Software Upgrades.

The standard-fitted BMW Live Cockpit Professional features a fully
digital screen grouping including a high-resolution instrument cluster
with a screen diagonal of 12.3 inches behind the steering wheel and a
10.25-inch control display.

With smartphone integration fitted as standard, customers can use
Apple CarPlay and Android Auto via the car’s operating system. And the
Remote Software Upgrades function allows improved vehicle functions
and additional digital services to be imported into the car over the air.

The all-new BMW 4 Series Gran Coupé is now available for viewing at
the Performance Motors Limited and Performance Munich Autos showrooms.

Singapore. BMW Asia and Performance Motors Limited
today launched the all-new BMW 4 Series Coupé, a car that is more
distinctive and sportier than ever. The overall vehicle concept behind
the two-door car – from its proportions and bespoke design features to
the model-specific chassis tuning – displays a rigorous commitment to
a richly engaging driving experience. The spotlight on dynamic driving
pleasure puts clear water between the all-new BMW 4 Series Coupé and
the latest BMW 3 Series Sedan and gives it a significantly sharper
character than its predecessor.

The all-new BMW 4 Series Coupé was developed with the aim of
redefining the essence of driving pleasure in the premium midsize
segment. Its aura of athleticism and exclusivity sees it following in
the BMW brand’s coupé tradition – shaped by a succession of legendary
sporting machines – which now stretches back almost 90 years. The
makeup of the all-new BMW 4 Series Coupé range reflects the emphasis
placed on dynamic potency in the car’s conception. The all-new BMW 4
Series Coupé is built at BMW Plant Dingolfing in Germany.

Exterior design: an exclusive blend of elegance and dynamism.

The appearance of the all-new BMW 4 Series Coupé brings both the
familiar styling of BMW’s sporty two-door models and the brand’s new
design language to the fore. A small number of crisp lines and the use
of clear, generously sized surfaces come together into a body design
which exudes unadulterated driving pleasure from every angle.

The dynamically stretched proportions of the all-new BMW 4 Series
Coupé are the result of greater exterior dimensions than its
predecessor. Length has increased by 128 millimetres to 4,768 mm,
width by 27 mm to 1,852 mm and the wheelbase by 41 mm to 2,851
millimetres. Vehicle height is up by just 6 mm, to 1,383 millimetres,
making the car 57 millimetres lower than the new BMW 3 Series Sedan.
Its tracks have increased in width over the previous-generation
model’s – by 28 millimetres at the front and 18 millimetres at the
rear – and are also 23 millimetres wider than those of the latest BMW
3 Series Sedan.

An expressive and distinctive front end with a nose for tradition.

The striking front end of the all-new BMW 4 Series Coupé shines the
spotlight on its standalone character. The large, vertically
emphasised BMW kidney grille angles forwards and extends down almost
to the lower edge of the front apron. Its standard air intakes have a
mesh structure of the sort only previously seen on M models. As a
defining element of the front end, the grille stands confidently at
its centre. With its upright kidneys connected in the centre, it
reprises a design feature from the company’s past – one shared with
legendary brand classics, such as the BMW 328 and BMW 3.0 CSi – and
adds its own modern twist.

The slim headlights of the all-new BMW 4 Series Coupé reach well into
the front wheel arches. Full-LED headlights are fitted as standard,
while the BMW Laserlight is available as an option. This optional
equipment item comes with the cornering light and adaptive cornering
functions with variable road illumination optimised for urban and
motorway driving. At speeds above 60 km/h, the laser high-beam
increases maximum illumination range to 550 metres and follows the
course of the road dynamically.

Elegant and dynamic side view, powerful rear.

The flanks of the all-new BMW 4 Series Coupé are shaped by precise
and tautly carved surfaces. Short overhangs, slender pillars, long
doors with frameless windows, the slim window graphic and a flowing
roofline accentuate its elegant appearance. The glasshouse – heavily
tapered in its rear section – and muscular shoulders accentuate its
powerful stature.

At the rear, too, large and distinct surfaces are the dominant
influences. Slim and stylishly darkened full-LED rear lights with
consistently illuminating light bars underscore the car’s powerful looks.

Interior: driver-focused cockpit, two individual-style rear seats.

Cleanly designed surfaces, high-quality materials and the
driver-focused layout of the cockpit define the premium ambience and
singularly performance-centric interior design of the all-new BMW 4
Series Coupé. Sports seats and a newly designed sports leather
steering wheel come as standard. Together with the coordinated design
of the instrument panel and door panel trim, the high-set centre
console generates an enveloping environment for the front seat
occupants. The standard acoustic glass for the windscreen further
improves comfort over long distances.

The instrument cluster and Control Display in the all-new BMW 4
Series Coupé form a large-surface display grouping. The start/stop
button for the engine is now positioned in a classy control panel in
the centre console. And the model-specific rear seats with integral
head restraints and pronounced individual-seat character have been
designed to accommodate two passengers.

Powerful yet efficient petrol engines in the all-new BMW 430i
Coupé and all-new BMW 420i Coupé.

The all-new BMW 430i Coupé and all-new BMW 420i Coupé boast
remarkably sporty performance characteristics and superior efficiency
following an extensive upgrade of their respective four-cylinder
petrol engines. The more powerful of the 2.0 litre pair generates a
maximum output of 258 hp – an increase of 6 hp on the engine it
replaces – and delivers peak torque of 400 Nm between 1,550 and 4,400
rpm. This enables the all-new BMW 430i Coupé to accelerate to 100 km/h
from rest in 5.8 seconds.

The four-cylinder engine in the all-new BMW 420i Coupé is another
shining example of efficiency and the free-revving performance
associated with BMW power units. Its maximum output of 184 hp and peak
torque of 300 Nm between 1,350 and 4,000 rpm translate into a 0 to 100
km/h time of 7.5 seconds.

Eight-speed Steptronic transmission as standard for all model
variants, with the option of shift paddles and new Sprint function.

Globally, this is the first time that all model variants in the BMW 4
Series Coupé range have been fitted with an eight-speed Steptronic
transmission as standard. The latest version of the automatic
transmission goes about its task of relaying drive torque from the
engine with optimised shift characteristics and even greater efficiency.

In Singapore, the eight-speed Steptronic Sport transmission is fitted
as standard for all model variants and offers even sharper shift
dynamics and comes with shift paddles on the steering wheel. It also
has the new Sprint function (standard on the all-new BMW 430i Coupé M
Sport Pro), which adjusts the engine and shift characteristics to
bring maximum dynamism to mid-range acceleration and overtaking
manoeuvres with just a short pull of the ‘minus’ shift paddle.

Improved body rigidity and bespoke chassis tuning result in
eye-catching dynamism.

Its model-specific proportions, optimised aerodynamic properties,
increased body rigidity, a centre of gravity 21 millimetres lower than
the new BMW 3 Series Sedan’s, and careful tweaks to the chassis
geometry, mounting and set-up, give the all-new BMW 4 Series Coupé a
sporty character all of its own. An intelligent material mix has been
employed to optimise the weight of both the body and chassis
technology. The bespoke body struts at the front end and in the rear
axle area can also take credit for the car’s superb handling agility
and precision.

The M Sport suspension (standard on the all-new BMW 420i Coupé M
Sport) incorporates specially tuned lift-related dampers while the
Adaptive M suspension (standard on the all-new BMW 430i Coupé M Sport
Pro) features electronically controlled dampers. Variable sport
steering is included with both suspension variants. The all-new BMW 4
Series Coupé rides on 18-inch M light alloy wheels (all-new BMW 420i
Coupé M Sport) and 19-inch BMW Individual Bicolour wheels (all-new BMW
430i Coupé M Sport Pro). The optional M Sport brakes are available
with a choice of blue or red callipers. The BMW 430i Coupé M Sport Pro
comes standard with red M Sport brakes.

The M Sport differential with electronically controlled, fully
variable locking function in the rear differential is available as an
option for the all-new BMW 430i Coupé in conjunction with the Adaptive
M suspension.

Premiere: M Sport Pro for the ultimate in intense driving pleasure.

The design and equipment lines are also a clear reflection of the
uncompromising focus on dynamic driving pleasure underpinning the
overall vehicle concept. An M Sport model comes with features such as
extra-large air intakes at the front and a prominently contoured rear
apron, M Sport suspension, M light-alloy wheels, and other specially
designed interior elements. Exterior elements can also be specified in
carbon fibre to add some motorsports flair with the M Carbon exterior package.

The M Sport Pro offered on a BMW model for the first time elevates
driving pleasure intensity levels another notch. In Singapore, the
all-new BMW 430i Coupé comes as standard with the M Sport Pro. It
takes the features of the M Sport model and adds items including
19-inch wheels, a rear spoiler, a sporty soundtrack fed into the cabin
and a Harman Kardon surround sound system. In addition to this, an
extensive selection of M Performance Parts will also be available for
customers to order.

Top-class customisation options.

A vast array of optional extras can be specified to inject an
individual sense of style into the car and enhance driving comfort.
The all-new BMW 420i Coupé M Sport comes as standard with
Alcantara/Sensatec sports seats (leather Vernasca is optional) while
the all-new BMW 430i Coupé M Sport Pro has leather Vernasca M Sport
seats. All front sports seats are electrically adjustable. Also to be
found on the options list are BMW Individual interior trim strips of
particularly exquisite quality, a Sensatec-trimmed instrument panel
and a leather-covered BMW Individual instrument panel.

Three-zone automatic climate control and a Storage package come as
standard in the all-new BMW 4 Series Coupé. An auxiliary heating
system and ambient lighting including Welcome Light Carpet are also
standard. The tilting/sliding glass roof (standard on the all-new BMW
430i Coupé M Sport Pro) has a 24-millimetre-longer glass surface than
on the outgoing model.

The rear backrest in the all-new BMW 4 Series Coupé has a 40 : 20 :
40 split as standard and its individual sections can be released and
folded flat by pressing a button in the boot. The boot is able to hold
440 litres of gear.

Far wider choice of driver assistance systems.

A significantly broader selection of driver assistance systems
compared to the preceding generation of the BMW 4 Series Coupé serves
to boost comfort on long journeys and increase safety in situations
where the driver does not have a clear view. Front collision warning
with brake intervention, Lane Departure Warning including lane return
(with steering assistance) and the Speed Limit Info system are all now
included as standard. The optional Driving Assistant Professional adds
a number of features including the Steering and Lane Control Assistant
with new Active Navigation, which uses navigation data to detect any
necessary lane changes.

The standard Parking Assistant now also features the Reversing
Assistant, while the optional Parking Assistant Plus includes Surround
View and Remote 3D View. The new-generation BMW Head-Up Display
(standard on the all-new BMW 430i Coupé M Sport Pro) beams
driving-related information onto a projection area enlarged by 70 per cent.

New digital services: BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant,
smartphone integration, Remote Software Upgrade.

The standard fitted BMW Live Cockpit Professional features a fully
digital screen grouping comprising a digital instrument cluster behind
the steering wheel with a screen diagonal of 12.3 inches and a
10.25-inch Control Display. The fully digital instrument display in
the cockpit provides enough room to accommodate an excerpt from the
navigation map, status indicators for the driver assistance systems or
3D visualisation of the surrounding area.

A built-in SIM card with 4G LTE connectivity and the standard
Connected Package Professional make it possible to use digital
services such as BMW TeleServices and Intelligent Emergency Call, Real
Time Traffic Information with hazard warning, Remote Services and
Concierge Services.

The driver and passengers will also benefit from the enhanced options
for intuitive operation and the innovative digital services brought by
the inclusion of BMW Operating System 7.0 in the all-new BMW 4 Series
Coupé. Display content can be configured individually while the
intuitive multimodal interaction between driver and vehicle can take
place – depending on the situation – via the Control Display’s
touchscreen, the proven iDrive Controller, the multifunction buttons
on the steering wheel or optional BMW gesture control. The BMW
Intelligent Personal Assistant with added functions rounds up the
suite of interaction with the vehicle, is at the customer’s service as
a standard feature in the all-new BMW 4 Series Coupé.

BMW Live Cockpit Professional also comes with optimised smartphone
integration. Alongside wireless Apple CarPlay, the operating system
for the all-new BMW 4 Series Coupé now also hosts wireless Android
Auto. Remote Software Upgrade is another new feature that enables
improved vehicle functions and additional digital services to be
imported into the car over the air.

The BMW Digital Key for the iPhone will enable customers to just tap
to unlock and easily get going by placing the iPhone in the smartphone
tray and pushing the start button. Setup of the Digital Key can be
done through the BMW Connected App. The car owner can also share
access with up to five friends including a configurable car access
option for young drivers which restricts top speed, horsepower,
maximum radio volume and more. Management of access can be done from
inside the car as well as through Apple Wallet.

The all-new BMW 4 Series Coupé is now available for viewing at the
Performance Motors Limited showroom.
