Mumbai. The all-new BMW X5 was launched in India today. Mr. Sachin Tendulkar, the legendary sportsman unveiled the all-new BMW X5, which demonstrates a fresh modern design with refined interiors and authoritative driving attributes.

Locally-produced, the all-new BMW X5 is available in a diesel variant at BMW dealerships from today onwards. The petrol variant will be available later in 2019.

The all-new BMW X5 exhibits versatility by offering customers a choice of vehicle that expresses who they are and conforms to their personal preferences and lifestyle. Locally-produced, the all-new BMW X5 is available in three design schemes - Sport, xLine and M Sport. Sport celebrates the gust of adrenaline with sporty style and self-confidence. xLine puts on a powerful character that enhances the car’s off-road looks. M Sport enhances the dynamic character distinguishing itself as an elite sports model.

The all-new BMW X5 is available in two diesel models – BMW X5 xDrive30d Sport and BMW X5 xDrive30d xLine. The petrol variant BMW X5 xDrive40i M Sport will be available later in 2019.

The design of the all-new BMW X5 makes a powerful statement. It has grown in all dimensions compared to its predecessor while retaining its character and proportions. Gurgaon. The new BMW X3 xDrive28i and the new BMW X5 xDrive35i were launched in India today. With this launch, the trendsetters with BMW X factor are now available in petrol variants offering dynamic ability, unbeatable efficiency and exquisite comfort both on and off road.

The new BMW X3 xDrive28i and the new BMW X5 xDrive35i will be locally produced at BMW Plant Chennai. The new BMW X3 and the new BMW X5 are now available across the country in both petrol as well as diesel variants.

Innovative engine technology.

The new M TwinPower Turbo engine for the BMW X5 M and BMW X6 M is the most powerful unit ever developed by BMW for an all-wheel-drive vehicle. Boasting innovative M TwinPower Turbo technology with a pair of TwinScroll turbochargers, cross-bank exhaust manifolds, VALVETRONIC and High Precision Direct Petrol Injection, the 4.4-litre V8 produces maximum output of 423 kW/575 hp between 6,000 and 6,500 rpm. That represents a four per cent increase over the predecessor models. The step up is even clearer when it comes to the power development of the new engine. Peak torque has been boosted by 70 Nm (52 lb-ft), which equates to a rise of 10 per cent. Its 750 Nm (553 lb-ft) can be enjoyed across a broad rev range between 2,200 and 5,000 rpm.

At the same time, fuel consumption of the all-new BMW X5 M and BMW X6 M in the EU cycle has been cut by 20 per cent. CO2 emissions are likewise down by more than 20 per cent, to 258 g/km. The two models accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.2 seconds through the standard eight- speed M Steptronic transmission with Drivelogic. Top speed is limited to 250 km/h (electronically limited).

With their striking use of forms, the all-new BMW X5 M and all-new BMW X6 M clearly flag up their sporting ambitions. With their exteriors painted fully in body colour, both models cut a low-slung figure on the road, while mixed tyres showcase their sporty track width and lend extra credence to their premium perception. Numerous exclusive design elements, moreover, elevate the

M models even further than before from the standard BMW X5 and BMW X6. Large air intakes at the front end, the kidney grille with twin slats, side gills with a model badge and Air Breathers, M-specific exterior mirrors in twin-stalk style, a typically M four-tailpipe exhaust system and a rear spoiler (for the BMW X6 M) give them a standalone look M fans will immediately recognise. Setting the seal on this exclusive range of features are M-specific 20-inch light-alloy wheels with mixed tyres or forged 21-inch M light-alloy wheels (optional).

Chennai. The BMW Plant Chennai will roll out the all-new BMW X5 today. Initial deliveries of the all-new BMW X5 in India will commence by June end.

An overwhelming demand for the all-new BMW X5 in the market has pushed the waiting period to three months.

The all-new BMW X5 was launched on 29 May 2014 in Pune. The BMW X5 xDrive30d is locally produced at BMW Plant Chennai in diesel variant.

The BMW X5 xDrive30d will be locally produced at BMW Plant Chennai in diesel variant and will be available at BMW dealerships across India from June 2014 onwards.

The all-new BMW X5 will be available in Alpine White as non-metallic paintwork and in the following five metallic paintworks: Black Sapphire, Glacier Silver, Imperial Blue Brilliant Effect, Space Grey and Sparkling Brown.

The striking curves and the compelling design of the all-new BMW X5 signify a personality that never fails to announce its one overriding attribute: supremacy. Its expressive front with Adaptive LED Headlights and the athletic side contours generate a masculine look that’s beyond comparison. Air resistance is no match for the sophisticated aerodynamics of the all-new BMW X5 that greatly improve the air flow. The wind turbulence at the front wheel arches is greatly reduced thanks to the Air Curtain on the front apron and the Air Breather at the front wheel arches. Aerodynamically enhanced exterior mirrors and the aeroblade on the rear also deliver the lowest drag coefficient in its class.

The interior of the all-new BMW X5 impresses with the overall sense of spaciousness, meticulously selected premium materials and excellent craftsmanship. Inside the cockpit, all the controls, such as the iDrive Touch Controller, are fully geared towards the driver and the overall clarity of the design is pleasure to behold.

The seats for driver and front passenger feature lumbar support and a memory function. Comfort seats in the rear feature particularly comfortable upholstery and can be individually adjusted in numerous ways. The third row of seats enables the interior to be used more flexibly and include two individual fold-down seats facing the direction of travel. To facilitate entry, the second row of seats can be folded down using the Easy Entry Function.

The all-new BMW X5 also comes with a two-part tailgate to provide easy access to smaller luggage items and the lower section opens up to create a platform capable of supporting up to 250 Kg. The rear seatback can be reclined in a 40:20:40 split and can also be completely folded down to increase the compartment capacity to a massive 1870 litres.

The BMW TwinPower Turbo six-cylinder in-line diesel engine in the all-new BMW X5 has state-of-the-art fuel injection technologies for enhanced efficiency, as well as innovative turbocharging technology for a more dynamic ride. The 3.0 litre diesel engine combines CommonRail direct injection and a turbo charger with variable turbine geometry to deliver a power output of 190 kW / 258 hp and an impressive torque of 560 Nm. It takes just 6.9 seconds to sprint from 0 to 100 km/hr and the top speed is 230 km/h.

The eight-speed Sport automatic transmission performs smooth, almost imperceptible gear shifts. At any time, in any gear, the transmission collaborates perfectly with the engine, enabling it to develop its full power and efficiency.

The ‘Adaptive suspension package Comfort’ combines Dynamic Damper Control with air cushioning on the rear axle for the ultimate drive comfort.

The all-new BMW X5 comes as standard with BMW xDrive – an intelligent all-wheel drive system that monitors the driving situation constantly and distributes drive power smoothly between the axles. BMW xDrive splits drive variably to the front and rear axles to suit the driving situation and the surface.

The all-new BMW X5 with cutting-edge safety technologies provides optimal support in any situation with six air bags, Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) including Dynamic Traction Control (DTC); Cornering Brake Control (CBC); Hill Descent Control (HDC); Side-impact Protection; Electronic vehicle immobiliser and crash sensor.

With BMW EfficientDynamics, the all-new BMW X5 sets benchmark when it comes to the performance-to-fuel-consumption ratio equipped with a comprehensive technology package including features such as Intelligent Lightweight Construction, Automatic Start/Stop function, Brake Energy Regeneration, Electric Power Steering, 50:50 Weight Distribution and many other innovative technologies.

The various BMW ConnectedDrive assistance systems are clearly focussed on one overriding goal: comfort and safety. These include the next generation of BMW iDrive (the on-board Driver Information System) with touch controller and handwriting recognition; BMW Navigation Professional (integrated Global Positioning System – GPS) with 26 cm colour display and 3D maps; Connectivity through Bluetooth and USB devices; high-end Surround Sound system from Harman Kardon and BMW Apps. Gurgaon.  The new BMW X5 was unveiled at Bird Automotive, the new BMW dealership facility in Gurgaon. The new BMW X5 has been launched in two variants: BMW X5 xDrive50i (petrol) and BMW X5 xDrive30d (diesel) and can be ordered at BMW dealerships across India.

The new BMW X5: Description in Brief

The newly interpreted design vocabulary typical of BMW X models comprises above all the structure of the front apron and the position of the standard fog lamps as well as a redesigned rear apron adopting the structure of the front end. An increase in the percentage of front and rear end surfaces painted in body colour emphasises the on-road characteristics of the BMW X5, thereby reflecting the vehicle’s higher level of sportiness. With its distinctively contoured bonnet, large-sized BMW kidney grille and dual round headlights slightly cut off at the top, the new BMW X5 boasts a strikingly expressive front end that symbolises power and presence.

In conjunction with the Xenon headlights, fitted as standard, the dual round headlights incorporate LED Corona Rings. The L-shaped, redesigned taillights, each with two homogeneously illuminated LED light banks, reflect the brand-typical nighttime design of the rear end.

The interior of the new BMW X5 is characterised by a generous amount of space and a modern, sophisticated design. In addition to the high seating position, the BMW X5 can accommodate up to seven persons with the optional third-row seats.

Thanks to BMW EfficientDynamics, all versions of the new BMW X5 include brake energy regeneration. In overrun phase, i.e. as soon as the driver stops accelerating, the released kinetic energy is transformed by brake energy regeneration into electrical energy that can be stored. So the battery can be charged “free of charge”. The battery then needs less power input when the vehicle starts up again, which frees up the engine and reduces consumption.

The new top-of-the-range model is the BMW X5 xDrive50i, whose V8 power unit featuring BMW TwinPower Turbo and direct petrol injection (High Precision Injection) has an output of 300 kW/407 hp. It produces a maximum torque of 600 Nm at 1,750 – 4,500 rpm and accelerates from 0 – 100 kmph in 5.5 seconds.

The all-aluminium six-cylinder diesel with TwinPower Turbo and Common Rail direct injection featured in the BMW X5 xDrive30d delivers an output of 180 kW/245 hp. It produces a maximum torque of 540 Nm at 1,750 – 3,000 rpm and accelerates from 0 – 100 kmph in 7.6 seconds.

All versions of the new BMW X5 are equipped with an eight-speed automatic transmission. The standard equipment of the new BMW X5 also includes the speed-dependent Servotronic steering assistance system. The new BMW X5 is equipped as standard with the latest generation of the iDrive control system.  The new BMW X5 offers a multitude of unique driver assistance systems for optimising comfort, the use of infotainment functions as well as safety.
