Goa. BMW Motorrad India launched the new BMW F 450 GS in India today. The highly anticipated motorcycle is available for booking throughout the BMW Motorrad India dealer network with deliveries starting from June 2026. The BMW F 450 GS has been developed in Germany by BMW Motorrad and will be locally produced in India.

A GS stands for “best buddy” on and off-road and the BMW F 450 GS truly embodies the essence of a GS - get on, twist the throttle, have fun - with full control and maximum confidence.

The new BMW F 450 GS
Design of the new BMW 450 GS expresses a rugged yet refined adventure character, blending compact proportions with purposeful surfaces. The iconic ‘GS’ design philosophy carries itself to the newest member of the GS family. The first unmistakable GS design feature in the front look is the ‘X’ shaped full LED headlight. The characteristic flyline runs from the front ‘beak’ across to the tank and seat and continues to the slim rear. The familiar beak is a mix of black while the side panels are in body color. The ‘tooth’ typical of a GS is finished in matte Dime Silver metallic.

The bike comes with a two-piece seat (845 mm) as standard. With its flat, straight design, it provides ideal ergonomic conditions for comfort and dynamics for most riders. The body and the 14-liter tank underneath are designed to provide optimal support and a good knee fit when sitting or riding off-road in a standing position.

The Base and Exclusive variants are available in Cosmic Black Color scheme while the GS Trophy variant is presented in Racing Blue Metallic with accents in red and white. The tank center cover on the GS Trophy variant is in Snaefell white and on all other variants it’s matt black. The tank side panel is painted in the respective variant color.

The BMW F 450 GS comes with lightweight yet robust cast aluminum wheels. The bike is fitted with tubeless tires for road and off-road use, sized 100/90-19 at the front and 130/80-17 at the rear. The front wheel features a floating single-disc brake with a Brembo 4-piston fixed caliper and a 310 mm brake disc diameter for efficient, stable deceleration. A single disc brake with 1-piston floating caliper and 240 mm diameter is used on the rear wheel.

The newly developed chassis of the BMW F 450 GS relies on a welded tubular steel frame with integrated forged parts. This design combines low weight with high robustness, thus meeting the demands of both dynamic road riding and demanding off-road passages. The front wheel is guided via upside-down telescopic forks, while the rear wheel is guided via an aluminum hollow cast double-armed swinging arm with a central spring strut featuring progressive damping. The stanchions are in gold finish, as is the tapered aluminum handlebar. The fork bridge is forged. The suspension strut spring features adjustable preload and rebound damping.

The new BMW F 450 GS is powered by a newly developed two-cylinder inline engine that boasts an outstanding powertrain for dynamic riding pleasure. Its liquid-cooled engine produces a maximum output of 48 hp at 8,750 rpm and a maximum torque of 43 Nm at 6,750 rpm. The lightweight, powerful, high-torque and smooth-running engine is installed transversely in the direction of travel. Unique to the motorcycle market, it features a crankshaft offset by 135 degrees which makes every ride extremely smooth, with hardly any vibrations while also providing a thrilling, offbeat exhaust note.

The newly designed six-speed transmission transmits torque to the drive via an X-ring chain. A clear highlight is the bike’s clutchless operation, thanks to Shift Assistant Pro.It performs smooth, almost imperceptible gear shifts. At any time, in any gear, the transmission collaborates perfectly with the engine.

Easy Ride Clutch (ERC),a segment-first highlight, is a further development of a centrifugal clutch which automates starting and stopping without any stalling. In combination with Shift Assistant Pro, the ERC is a complete game changer. ERC handles low-speed engagement, whereas Shift Assistant Pro handles upshifts and downshifts, together offering a fully automated-like experience.

To ensure pure motorcycling in every scenario, the BMW F 450 GS offers four riding modes: 'Rain', 'Road', 'Enduro' and ‘Enduro Pro’. The ‘Enduro Pro’ mode is specially designed for off-road use with rough terrain tires. Wheelie control and rear wheel ABS are deactivated in this mode while DTC and throttle response can be customized.

A range of standard safety equipment ensures rider safety on all adventures. ABS Pro offers increased safety when braking in curves by enabling ABS-assisted braking while leaning. Dynamic Brake Control offers increased safety when braking, even in difficult situations, by preventing unintentional throttle application. The Engine Drag Control prevents the rear wheel from locking or skidding during abrupt throttle closure or rapid downshifting.

The modern digital experience of the BMW F 450 GS focuses on convenience, efficiency and supporting the rider with relevant information. The best-in-class large 6.5-inch TFT display ensures optimum readability, even under difficult lighting conditions. The ‘Pure Ride Screen’ and ‘Sport Screen’ displays are tailored to the BMW GS world and provide detailed information on DTC, braking power, and lean angle. The TFT display is linked to the multi-controller on the left handlebar, allowing for quick and intuitive operation. A USB-C socket in the handlebar area is perfect for mobile charging on the ride.

The all-new BMW F 900 GS and BMW F 900 GS Adventure.

The all-new BMW F 900 GS and BMW F 900 GS Adventure have been completely redesigned and benefits from a dynamic design that signals increased off-road qualities and sportiness. New, close-fitting tank side panels, together with a new radiator trim, give the all-new BMW F 900 GS a sleek, sporty and off-road-oriented look. At the same time, new frame trims (featuring the GS logo) help the rider maintain optimum leg contact with the motorcycle, especially when riding off-road in a standing position. In typical GS style, the new BMW F 900 GS features the short GS beak underneath the new, compact headlight and the typical GS flyline that stretches over the tank and the sporty seat to the rear. Off-road qualities, sportiness and dynamic performance are also reflected in the entire rear section, which is significantly narrower and more dynamic than the predecessor model. The dynamic appearance of the all-new BMW F 900 GS is further enhanced by the sporty rear silencer by Akrapoviè. One of the key points of the new design of the all-new BMW F 900 GS is the redesigned plastic fuel tank, which allowed for a much slimmer and ergonomically more favourable design.

The increased off-road qualities of the all-new BMW F 900 GS are expressed by the ergonomic triangle (handlebar - seat - footrests) optimised for off-road use. The handlebars of the all-new BMW F 900 GS, for example, are now positioned 15 mm higher than on the previous model. In addition, the now standard Enduro footrests are positioned 20 mm lower, which, in conjunction with the higher handlebar position and the new design of the fuel tank, offers particular advantages when riding standing up on rough terrain.

The all-new BMW F 900 GS makes a sporty statement with the Style Passion variant in São Paulo Yellow solid paint. Black-coated engine (not in the Passion model variant), wheels and forks give it a robust and masculine touch. The bike’s dynamic look is enhanced by the red rear frame as well as radiator trims, fuel tank side parts and slider tube cover in vehicle colour with black/red tapes. In the sportiest "GS Trophy” version in the colour combination Lightwhite solid paint/Racing blue metallic, the all-new BMW F 900 GS emphasises its off-road character with the hand protectors with aluminium bracket, the aluminium engine guard, the black fork tubes and the black seat (also with red contrasts). Sporty touches are provided by the optional tinted windshield, the optional gold wheel rims and the white rear frame. The fuel tank side surfaces and radiator trim in Lightwhite solid paint as well as the front wheel cover are highlighted with tapes in the typical BMW colours of blue/red on a white background.

The all-new BMW F 900 GS Adventure shows that is ready for adventure, off-road tours and long-distance travel in the Blackstorm metallic (also for the fuel tank centre cover) and newly designed radiator trims with GS logo in white aluminium. Black components such as the engine, fixed fork tubes, wheel rims and a black-grey comfort seat blend in harmoniously. The new BMW F 900 GS Adventure in the White Aluminium matt variant signals a spirit of adventure and long-distance travel qualities. Together with new radiator trims with GS logo in White Aluminium (also for the fuel tank centre cover) as well as a black-grey comfort bench seat, the new BMW F 900 GS Adventure looks sporty and stylish at the same time.

The 2-cylinder in-line engine of the all-new BMW F 900 GS and BMW F 900 GS Adventure provides even more powerful propulsion thanks to significantly increased output. It generates 77 kW (105 hp) at 8,500 rpm and has a maximum torque of 93 Nm at 6,750 rpm. The output and torque have been increased and the torque curve is now significantly fuller over the entire speed range. This results in noticeably more pulling power and faster acceleration.

The all-new BMW F 900 GS and BMW F 900 GS Adventure rely on a bridge-type frame made of deep-drawn sheet steel parts welded together, which integrates the 2-cylinder in-line engine as a supporting element. The all-new BMW F 900 GS features a completely redesigned rear section which makes it look even more dynamic. The rear wheels are guided by a double-sided swinging arm made of aluminium in conjunction with a directly linked central spring strut.

The LED headlight on the all-new BMW F 900 GS offers a larger low beam opening angle and thus better illumination directly in front of the motorcycle. This increases safety, especially when riding at night at low speeds. The all-new BMW F 900 GS Adventure also features LED headlight as standard. Furthermore, the turn indicator and control lights of all both models also use LED technology.

Short Version.

The new BMW F 750 GS and F 850 GS: Premium middle-class travel enduros with strong characters.

Ever since their debut in 2007, the GS models of the F series have stood for premium riding enjoyment with typical ‘Made by BMW Motorrad’ features, representing the middle-class Adventure segment. As before, the GS abbreviation again represents a perfect synthesis of touring and long-distance capability combined with sporty dynamics and supreme offroad performance. In short: A BMW GS is the perfect companion when it comes to discovering remote corners of the world by motorcycle. After around ten years of consistent model development, BMW Motorrad has now fully redesigned and reengineered its middle-class GS models in line with its objective of creating an ultimate riding machine that is even more uncomplicated and carefree, whether used for sport-oriented road riding, on tour complete with luggage and a passenger, or on an adventure trip into offroad terrain.

Even more so than their predecessor models, the new F 750 GS and F 850 GS are targeted squarely at their respective clientele. The F 750 GS is designed for all riders who prefer the sensation and conceptual design of a travel enduro in combination with a low seat height, copious power availability, high cost-effectiveness, and powerful all-round qualities. Opposite this is the new F 850 GS, which besides offering more power and torque, features even more distinctive touring characteristics coupled with supreme offroad ability.

Powerful, new 2-cylinder in-line engine with two counterbalance shafts and a firing interval of 270/450 degrees for optimized smoothness and emotional sound.

The main development focus was to create an increase in both power and torque. In addition, special attention was given to reducing fuel consumption levels. Displacement is 853 cc and the power output of 57 kW (77 hp) at 7500 rpm generated by the F 750 GS is more than sufficient. The new F 850 GS generates 70 kW (95 hp) at 8250 rpm which translates to a supreme level of engine power. The developers achieved a powerful and emotionally appealing sound by employing a crankshaft with a 90 degree journal offset and a 270/450 degree firing interval. Unwanted vibrations are absorbed by the new engine’s two counterbalance shafts. A self-amplifying, anti-hopping clutch provides a discernible reduction in the hand clutch operating force while the drop in engine drag torque also enhances safety on the road. Power transmission to the rear wheel comes from the 6-speed gearbox with secondary drive that is now positioned on the left-hand side.

The riding modes ‘Road’ and ‘Rain’ plus ABS and ASC ensure plenty of riding enjoyment and enhanced safety as standard.

Pro riding modes are available as optional equipment. The new GS models address individual rider requirements by offering ‘Rain’ and ‘Road’ riding modes, while the combination of BMW Motorrad ABS and the ASC automatic stability control ensures a high level of safety. The F 750 GS and F 850 GS can be fitted ex works with optional equipment, such as Pro riding modes and in turn the additional ‘Dynamic’, ‘Enduro’ and ‘Enduro Pro’ riding modes (the latter only available in the F 850 GS) as well as the DTC dynamic traction control and banking capable ABS Pro.

New steel bridge frame in monocoque construction, optimized suspension geometry and new fuel tank position.

The bridge frame of the new GS models in the F series is made of deep-drawn, welded components. It integrates the 2-cylinder in-line engine as a co-supporting element and offers benefits in terms of torsional rigidity and robustness. The fuel tank has been placed in the classic position between the seat bench and the steering head, for optimised packaging and an improved centre of gravity.

Sharper GS profile thanks to the more masculine design.

The F 750 GS and F 850 GS also feature a completely new look, which benefits from a more dynamic and masculine design. In addition to the basic version, the new F models are also available in Exclusive style variations. The Rallye style variant is exclusive to the new F 850 GS and places particular emphasis on its offroad capabilities.

The new GS models of the F series are being launched with a range of equipment options that is unique for the middle class. Be it the different seat heights and windshields, the new full LED headlight, the optional Connectivity equipment with TFT display or eCall, the list of fascinating features with which owners can maximise their riding enjoyment and safety as well as experience the thrill of the road is now virtually inexhaustible for middle class travel endure motorcycles.

• Powerful 2-cylinder in-line engine with a displacement of 853 cc. F 750 GS: 57 kW (77 hp) at 7500 rpm and 83 Nm at 6000 rpm. F 850 GS: 70 kW (95 hp) at 8250 rpm and 92 Nm at 6250 rpm.

• Extremely powerful and emotional sound, produced by a crankshaft journal offset of 90 degrees and firing interval of 270/450 degrees.

• New, robust steel bridge frame in monocoque construction for increased riding precision.

• New telescopic fork/upside-down telescopic fork plus double-sided aluminium swinging arm with central spring strut for more sensitive response characteristics.

• ABS, ASC plus ‘Rain’ and ‘Road’ riding modes included as standard.

• Pro riding modes with ABS Pro and dynamic brake light, DTC and the new riding modes ‘Dynamic’, ‘Enduro’ and ‘Enduro Pro’ (the latter only with the F 850 GS) available as optional equipment ex works.

• ESA electronic suspension adjustment available as optional equipment.

• A self-amplifying, anti-hopping clutch for a discernible reduction in hand clutch operating force.

• Full LED headlight incl. LED daytime running light as optional equipment.

• Connectivity with multi-functional instrument cluster and 6.5 inch full-colour TFT display plus numerous features as optional equipment.

• Intelligent emergency call function now offered for the first time as optional equipment for the middle class.
