<p>
<strong>Woodcliff Lake, NJ – June 11, 2025…</strong> Two become one:
the BMW XM portfolio is sharpening its focus, now offering just a
single model; the BMW XM Label.</p>
<p>The BMW XM Label combines astonishing power and an advanced drive
concept. Its M HYBRID system consists of a V8 with a peak output of
577 hp and an electric motor integrated into the eight-speed M
Steptronic transmission delivering up to 194 hp. With a total system
output of 738 hp and a combined torque of 738 lb-ft, the BMW XM Label
is the most powerful BMW M production model ever. It takes just 3.6
seconds to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph and has an electronically
limited top speed of 155 mph. The optional M Driver’s Package
increases this limit to 175 mph. With its exhilarating performance and
uncompromisingly extravagant design, the BMW XM Label enjoys a unique
place in the luxury segment. </p>
<p>The most powerful roadgoing BMW of all time sets new standards with
its extroverted design while demonstrating why BMW M stands for The
Ultimate Driving Machine. This is a view shared by world-famous
British musician, techno and house DJ Carl Cox. In a joint project
with BMW M, he has woven the sounds of the BMW XM – such as the
powerful bass of the V8, the Welcome chime, and the sound of the hood
closing – into an aural celebration. <strong>[</strong>

<strong>] </strong>The result underscores Carl Cox’s passion for BMW M
automobiles and is just as unique, extroverted, and confident as the
  XM itself.</p>
<p>
<strong>New equipment options, increased charging rate.</strong></p>
<p>The BMW XM Label now offers additional options for customizing the
exterior and interior. Newly available, for example, is the optional
BMW Individual Frozen Tanzanite Blue metallic paint, which beautifully
highlights the XM’s unique design characteristics. A new Welcome Light
Animation makes the BMW XM Label look especially impressive after
dark. And 23-inch M alloy wheels style 1096 M are now available in a
  Jet Black finish.</p>
<p>Inside, customers can choose from three new Interior Worlds; BMW
Individual Night Blue Full Merino Leather with Vintage Coffee accents,
BMW Individual Black Full Merino Leather with Vintage Coffee accents,
and BMW Individual Silverstone Extended Merino leather with Black
accents. The rear seat comfort cushions matching the color of the seat
surfaces now come as standard for all BMW Individual Merino Leather upholsteries.</p>
<p>The charging rate of the BMW XM Label increases as well: the M HYBRID
system’s Combined Charging Unit now enables AC charging at up to 11
  kW, up from 7.4 kW.</p>
<p>The 2026 BMW XM Label will be unveiled on Saturday, June 14, at the
24 Hours of Le Mans. BMW M Motorsport will be competing on the
legendary French circuit with the BMW M Hybrid V8 in the FIA World
  Endurance Championship (FIA WEC).</p>
<p>Production at BMW’s Plant Spartanburg in South Carolina will begin in
August. Pricing will be announced closer to the start of production.</p>

<p>
<strong>Woodcliff Lake, NJ – December 6, 2024…</strong> BMW and Kith
have joined forces again for a third chapter in their story. The BMW
XM and its links to the legendary BMW M1 are the focus of the latest
launch from BMW and Ronnie Fieg's world-renowned lifestyle brand,
Kith. The limited run, high-performance plug-in hybrid Sports Activity
Vehicle will be limited to 47 units worldwide and available next year
as the 2025 BMW XM by Kith, featuring exclusive exterior and interior
design elements. The BMW XM Kith Concept—built as a one-of-one design
study—offers a first look at the forthcoming model and will be
presented during Art Basel Miami Beach 2024. The one-off vehicle will
be accompanied in Miami Beach by another unique piece of BMW history –
Ronnie Fieg's custom 1981 BMW M1 E26. A new Kith for BMW collection of
apparel and lifestyle products will also debut in parallel.</p>
<p>Following the edition vehicles designed by Ronnie Fieg based on the
BMW M4 Competition Coupe (2020) and the BMW i4 M50 xDrive (2022), BMW
and Kith are once again dedicating the latest chapter of their
partnership to another exceptional BMW M model. The BMW XM, which is
also the first standalone offering from BMW M since the BMW M1
(produced from 1978 to 1981), features the newly developed electrified
M HYBRID drive system. The BMW XM features striking details inspired
by the design of the iconic mid-engine sports car, such as the side
accent strips and the two BMW roundel emblems at the rear.</p>
<p>
<strong>2025 BMW XM by Kith: 47 units, historic color, exclusive details.</strong></p>
<p>The 2025 BMW XM by Kith will be produced in a limited quantity of 47
units, reflecting the number of years that have passed since the debut
of the BMW M1. Deliveries will commence in the second half of 2025.
The edition will be offered with an exclusive BMW Individual Frozen
Techno Violet metallic paint finish, which is derived from historic
BMW M models. This paint finish, specifically developed by Kith for
the 2025 BMW XM by Kith, will only ever be used for this
limited-edition model. Alternatively, BMW Individual Frozen Black
metallic paint finish will also be available for the 2025 BMW XM by Kith.</p>
<p>The paintwork and numerous special design features emphasize the
particularly dynamic proportions and expressive lines that
characterize the BMW XM. The 2025 BMW XM by Kith features black side
window graphics and accent strips. The outline of the model
inscriptions on the front, rear and side, as well as the outline of
the Kith logo, combined with the characteristic BMW M stripes on the
rear of the edition vehicles, are finished in Techno Violet metallic.
The 2025 BMW XM by Kith comes as standard with 23-inch M light-alloy
wheels in star-spoke design with Jet Black finish.</p>
<p>In the interior, the modern sports car cockpit of the BMW XM by Kith
is complemented by exclusive details in the striking aesthetics of the
Kith label. The illuminated door sills feature the special “1/47”
insignia, denoting the rarity of each unit. The velour floor mats and
the control center on the center console all feature the Kith monogram
  with BMW M stripes.</p>
<p>An illuminated version of the logo can also be seen under the
headrests of the M Multifunction driver and passenger seats. The seat
surfaces in the BMW Individual Merino leather finish feature an
embossed Kith monogram pattern, as does the armrest of the center
console. Another detail can be found in the control display of the
edition vehicles—a special widget includes the official BMW XM by Kith
vehicle name, the “1/47” insignia and the Kith monogram with BMW M stripes.</p>
<p>The “M Lounge” rear passenger area of the 2025 BMW XM by Kith creates
a personal atmosphere which is further elevated by Kith’s bespoke
touches, including embossed Kith monogram on the seat surfaces and two
cushions with the label's logo. A Kith duffle bag, designed and
manufactured exclusively by Kith for the edition vehicles, is included
as standard to stylishly accommodate the included charging cables.</p>
<p>The 2025 BMW XM by Kith will be available for preorder on December 6,
  2024 at 11:00 AM ET exclusively through <a href="https://www.bmwusa.com/vehicles/m-models/xm-plug-in-hybrid/overview.html#!">BMWUSA.com</a>.
MSRP is $199,000 plus destination and handling fees.</p>
<p>
<strong>World premiere in Miami Beach: The BMW XM Kith Concept.</strong></p>
<p>BMW and Kith will present a concept version of the forthcoming
production vehicle in Miami Beach to showcase Fieg’s inspiration for
the project. The exterior and interior of the BMW XM Kith Concept have
been designed by Fieg in collaboration with BMW M to capture the
distinctive character of the high-performance model in a particularly
expressive way. Free from all the conventions of production car
homologation, Fieg designed a custom lighting concept, in which the
color purple plays a central role, matching the BMW Individual Frozen
Techno Violet metallic paint finish. The BMW XM Kith Concept's side
accent strips consist of black backlit strips, each of which contains
363 full-color LED units. When activated, these create a dynamically
animated purple glow around the Kith lettering. The decor elements on
the side panels also feature a backlit Kith logo.</p>
<p>LED units are also used in the headlights to create a purple color
scheme. The Kith logo can also be displayed on the glass covers of the
main headlights using LED matrix displays for the low beam headlights.
The BMW XM Kith Concept also features an M radiator grille Iconic Glow
with purple contour lighting and a paint finish enriched with purple
color pigments for the 23-inch light-alloy wheels. As a nod to its
motorsport lineage, and to pay homage to the BMW M1’s design, the BMW
XM Kith Concept has been lowered by 30 millimeters at the front and 35
millimeters at the rear, while the track on both axles has been
  widened by 40 millimeters.</p>
<p>Inside the concept car, M Carbon bucket seats replace the M
Multifunction seats of the 2025 BMW XM by Kith. They also feature
surfaces with embossed Kith monogram and illuminated Kith emblems
combined with BMW M stripes in the headrests.</p>
<p>
  <strong>Reimagining a legend: 1981 BMW M1 E26 by Ronnie Fieg.</strong></p>
<p>To place both the concept car and the 47-unit 2025 BMW XM by Kith
edition in a historical context, another unique model will be
presented to the public for the first time in Miami Beach. The 1981
BMW M1 E26 by Ronnie Fieg is an extensively reconstructed one-of-one
example of the vintage sports car with specific details from Kith’s
  design repertoire.</p>
<p>A Techno Violet paint finish, the combined BMW M and Kith emblem on
the tailgate, and an interior with embossed Kith lettering create new
  design parallels between Ronnie Fieg's 1981 BMW M1 E26 and the 2025
BMW XM Kith Concept. Their joint presence in Miami Beach effectively
forms a bridge between the first and the last model to be developed
and produced exclusively as a BMW M model in the company's decades’
  long history.</p>
<p>
<strong>Kith for BMW: Classic BMW design motifs reinterpreted in a new
    fashion and lifestyle collection.</strong></p>
<p>The presentation of the vehicles designed by Ronnie Fieg in Miami
Beach will be accompanied by the launch of a new Kith for BMW apparel
and lifestyle collection. The collection includes a wide range of
products that take classic BMW design motifs and reinterpret them in
Kith's signature style. In addition to the brand emblems and model
inscriptions, the colors Techno Violet, Cinnabar Red and Vitality
Green, which are used in the current cooperation and in previous joint
projects, give the products in the collection an unmistakable look.</p>
<p>The apparel range includes premium jackets in Italian leather,
double-sided wool and silky suede, as well as co-branded jumpers,
hoodies, rugby shirts, trousers and a range of vintage-inspired
T-shirts. The collection also includes a range of premium lifestyle
accessories including caps and hats, key fobs and license plates,
leather driving gloves, microfiber towels and cushions, floor mats and
carpets, as well as BMW and Kith branded card cases, mugs, trays,
  umbrellas, and snowboards.</p>
<p>A 1:18 scale model of the 2025 BMW XM by Kith is a particular
highlight of the collection. In addition to the BMW Individual Frozen
Techno Violet metallic body color, the miniature features numerous
other details based on the edition vehicle, including model lettering
on the M radiator grille with purple trim and Kith logos on the rear
  doors, door sills and seats.</p>
<p>The scale model of the new edition vehicle will also be produced in
limited numbers and can be ordered exclusively from the BMW Lifestyle
Shop. The complete Kith for BMW collection will be available on
December 6 at all Kith shops worldwide, including the Kith for BMW
Showcase pop-up in Miami Beach, as well as online at 11 AM ET on <a href="http://www.kith.com">www.kith.com</a>.</p>

<strong>Woodcliff Lake, NJ – April 20, 2023…</strong> BMW returned as
the official automotive partner of the Coachella Valley Music and Arts
festival for the fifth time to celebrate the launch of the
738-horsepower plug-in hybrid electric BMW XM “Label Red” in a big
way. To showcase the bold spirit and individuality of the special
edition range-topping Sports Activity Vehicle, the company assembled a
global team of likeminded artists and cultural creators to express
themselves alongside the extroverted BMW XM “Label Red”. Performers
including Charli XCX, Earthgang and Uncle Waffles, as well as the
female German rapper du jour Badmomzjay, Grammy-award winning
singer-songwriter Nija Charles, and South Korean choreographer Leejung
Lee recorded their initial encounters with the first electrified
high-performance product offering from BMW M. The campaign is an
extension of a project which began last winter during Art Basel Miami Beach.</p>
<p>Founded in 1999 as a mecca for creators and performers from all walks
of life, Coachella remains at the center of the global arts and
culture scene. The festival occurs annually at the Empire Polo Club in
Indio, California and features musical artists from several genres of
music, including rock, pop, hip hop, and electronic dance music, in
addition to various art installations, sculptures, and immersive exhibits.</p>
<p>“Our goal is to be at the heart of where the creative magic happens –
and Coachella is an excellent platform to foster new conversations
with emerging talents as well as established artists,” said Stefan
Ponikva, Vice President Brand Communication, Brand Experience. “BMW
wants to enable artists – musicians, designers, actors, storytellers –
to express themselves and engage with our brand and the first-ever BMW XM.” </p>
<p>Much like the artists who bring Coachella to life, the BMW XM “Label
Red” exudes star power with its striking silhouette, illuminated BMW
kidney grille, and signature Toronto Red exterior trim. The bold
design continues inside the cabin with a rear passenger area that was
modelled after a luxurious lounge, complete with diamond quilted BMW
Individual Vintage Merino leather seats set beneath a
three-dimensional sculptural prism headliner containing 100 separate
LED lights. Under the hood, the driver commands 738-horsepower from
the same drivetrain that propels BMW’s newest race car – the BMW M
  Hybrid V8.</p>

<p>
  <strong>Woodcliff Lake, NJ – April 11, 2023…</strong> Today, BMW M
GmbH presents an even more powerful, more exclusive version of its
first-ever electrified high-performance vehicle. The 2024 BMW XM Label
Red brings together an M HYBRID drivetrain with additional power and
unique design accents that clearly announce its exceptional
performance capabilities. With a maximum system output of 738 hp, the
BMW XM Label Red is simply the most powerful BMW M road vehicle ever made.</p>
<p>The BMW XM Label Red will make its world debut at the Auto Shanghai
international motor show in April 2023. Production will begin in
August 2023 at BMW Group Plant Spartanburg in South Carolina.</p>
<p>
<strong>Superlative power from the M HYBRID drivetrain system. </strong></p>
<p>The M HYBRID system in the BMW XM Label Red clearly demonstrates the
benefits of electrification in high-performance models from BMW M. The
seamless interaction of the electric motor and V8 engine ensures
instantaneous power delivery that builds emphatically and continues
into the highest reaches of the rev range. This combination of
combustion engine and electric motor is conceptually similar to the
powertrain found in the new BMW M Hybrid V8 endurance racing car,
which made its debut in the 24 Hours of Daytona race in the North
American IMSA series this year and will compete in events throughout
2023 leading up to the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2024.</p>
<p>A maximum system output of 738 hp represents a 94-hp increase over
the standard BMW XM. Overall system torque is up by 148 lb-ft and now
peaks at 738 lb-ft. Power is sent to the road by the M xDrive
all-wheel-drive system. In conjunction with model-specific chassis
technology and fast-acting, high-precision powertrain and chassis
controls, the BMW XM Label Red delivers a unique performance
experience with power and agility at entirely new levels.</p>
<p>
<strong>M TwinPower Turbo technology and classic high-revving
    character. </strong></p>
<p>The M HYBRID system of the BMW XM Label Red blends the virtues of
electrification with the traditional qualities of a high-revving
8-cylinder combustion engine with M TwinPower Turbo technology. The
latest generation of the V8 delivers extremely rapid power delivery,
increased efficiency, and minimised emissions. As well as a cross-bank
exhaust manifold, it also features a reinforced crankshaft drive,
turbocharging with an electrically controlled blow-off valve, upgraded
oil supply, and optimized oil separation.</p>
<p>In the BMW XM Label Red, the 4.4 liter V8 alone produces 577 hp at
5,600 rpm – a 94-hp increase over the unit in the standard BMW XM.
Peak torque is 553 lb-ft – an increase of 74 lb-ft over the standard
model – and is available from 1,800 to 5,400 rpm.</p>
<p>
<strong>Instantaneous power delivery: electric motor with innovative
    pre-gearing stage. </strong></p>
<p>Like the V8 engine, the electric motor of the M HYBRID system also
employs innovative technology to deliver a noticeable increase in
power. The permanently excited synchronous motor is integrated into
the 8-speed M Steptronic transmission together with its power
electronics, and helps to provide precise throttle response and nearly
  instantaneous power delivery.</p>
<p>The electric motor contributes up to 194 hp to the maximum system
output of the BMW XM Label Red along with 206 lb-ft of torque. A
pre-gearing stage patented by BMW is used to increase the torque
produced by the motor to an effective maximum of 332 lb-ft at the
transmission input for the motor. In this way, the compact motor is
able to provide the sort of torque boost that could normally only be
achieved using a far larger and heavier unit.</p>
<p>The improved build-up of power resulting from the pre-gearing stage
between the electric motor’s rotor and the transmission’s input shaft
can be clearly felt, both when accelerating off the line and when
putting in a quick burst of speed. Combined with the optimized power
delivery of the V8 engine and its high-revving character, this
produces astonishing acceleration. The BMW XM Label Red needs just an
estimated 3.7 seconds to sprint from 0 to 60 mph. Top speed is
electronically limited to 155 mph, or 175 mph when the optional M
  Driver’s Package is specified.</p>
<p>
<strong>Powerful high-voltage battery, BMW IconicSounds Electric,
Combined Charging Unit and predictive heat management. </strong></p>
<p>The electric motor draws its energy from a high-voltage lithium-ion
battery integrated into the underbody. The battery provides a constant
flow of power across a wide temperature range and under the heavy
loads encountered in high-performance driving. It has a net energy
content of 19.2 kWh. Together with the electric motor’s excellent
efficiency and the system of intelligent energy management, this
enables an estimated electric range of about 30 miles.</p>
<p>Under battery power alone, the BMW XM Label Red is capable of purely
electric journeys around town and beyond; emission-free and in near
silence. The BMW XM Label Red can achieve 87 mph in electric mode. The
power delivery of the electric motor is enhanced by BMW IconicSounds
Electric, developed in collaboration between BMW and film score
  composer Hans Zimmer.</p>
<p>The Combined Charging Unit of the M HYBRID system enables AC charging
at up to 7.4 kW. This means the high-voltage battery can be
replenished from zero to 100% charge in 3.25 hours. Predictive heat
management reduces charging times by preconditioning – warming or
cooling – the HV battery. The charging cable is kept in a stylish
weekender bag secured in the rear cargo area using a carabiner-belt
  combination in M tricolor.</p>
<p>
<strong>Supreme traction, captivating performance: M xDrive and M
    Sport differential. </strong></p>
<p>The M xDrive all-wheel-drive system is rear-biased, which lends the
BMW XM Label Red a dynamic sense of agility and poise; especially so
in 4WD Sport mode. When the DSC (Dynamic Stability Control) system has
been fully disengaged, the traction-optimised 4WD Sand mode –
conceived specifically for driving over dunes and similar surfaces –
can be activated via the M Setup menu.</p>
<p>Supporting and augmenting the performance of the M xDrive system is
an electronically controlled differential lock in the rear axle, which
further enhances traction, agility and directional stability. The M
Sport differential brings on-demand, fully variable distribution of
drive torque between the left and right rear wheels.</p>
<p>
<strong>Model-specific chassis tuning, integrated transverse dynamics
    management. </strong></p>
<p>The most powerful roadgoing BMW M vehicle ever made impresses not
only with the unique power delivery of its M HYBRID system, but also
with the breadth of its driving attributes. The BMW XM Label Red’s
sophisticated chassis technology gives it an extraordinary range of
abilities, from spirited handling to long-distance comfort, and is
adapted to the unique performance characteristics of the powertrain
with the precision for which BMW M models are renowned.</p>
<p>Standard equipment for the BMW XM Label Red includes adaptive M
suspension Professional – featuring electronically controlled dampers
and active roll stabilisation with Active Roll Comfort to eliminate
body roll on one side of the vehicle – and Integral Active Steering.
The M Sport braking system comprises six-piston, fixed-caliper brakes
at the front and single-piston, floating-caliper units at the rear. It
teams with the latest-generation integrated braking system, which
ensures the stopping power generated by recuperation and the friction
brake is delivered with consistency and precision, and offers the
driver two programmable pedal feel settings.</p>
<p>Along with the systems mentioned above, the near-actuator wheel slip
limitation tech integrated into the engine management and the
Performance Control function are networked with the central transverse
dynamics management. The integration of all powertrain and chassis
systems together with the fine-tuning carried out on varying types of
roads with the help of BMW M GmbH’s motorsport expertise has resulted
in a well-resolved driving experience in every situation and with
  every configuration.</p>
<p>
<strong>Extroverted design with exclusive details. </strong></p>
<p>The muscular proportions of a dynamic Sports Activity Vehicle
converge with a bold, self-confident exterior design featuring large
surfaces, clear lines and a front-end look reserved for BMW’s
luxury-class models. And added to the mix here are design accents
underscoring the singular character of the BMW XM Label Red as a
vehicle focused on achieving the highest peaks of performance.</p>
<p>The distinguishing features of the BMW XM Label Red include an
available Toronto Red metallic accent band in place of the standard
black. The use of red also extends to the model badges and the wheel
inserts. The BMW XM Label Red is fitted as standard with 23-inch
light-alloy wheels, with 22-inch wheels available as a no-cost option.
The surrounds for the BMW M kidney grille and diffuser elements are
  finished in Black high-gloss.</p>
<p>Customers will be able to select either Brooklyn Grey metallic or
choose from more than 50 BMW Individual special paint finishes at no
additional charge, including the new BMW Individual Urban Green, BMW
Individual Petrol Mica metallic, BMW Individual Anglesey Green
metallic and BMW Individual Sepia metallic. The new BMW Individual
Visualizer (which can be explored <a href="https://www.bmw-m.com/en/fastlane/bmw-individual.html">here</a>)
will be available from the start of orders for the BMW XM Label Red to
help customers with the paint selection process. The vehicle is
realistically depicted in the paint finish selected against the
  backdrop of BMW M Town.</p>
<p>A small number of vehicles will be produced with BMW Individual
Frozen Carbon Black exterior paint, increasing the exclusivity of the
BMW XM Label Red with even more expressive styling. The contrast of
the gloss color accents against shimmering matte surfaces creates a
  distinctive and dramatic visual impact.</p>
<p>A black and red motif extends to the interior of the BMW XM Label
Red. The distinctive three-dimensional headliner and the trim for the
body pillars are finished in black, while red is used to highlight the
diamond-shaped upper sections of the backrests and the integrated
headrests of the seats for the driver and front passenger and the
outer rear seats. Red contrast stitching is used on the black surfaces
of the seats, instrument panel, door trim and center console, and  the

<p>
  <strong>Spartanburg, S.C.  </strong>Series production for the
first-ever BMW XM has started at BMW Manufacturing in Spartanburg, SC.
The BMW XM will be built alongside the BMW X5, BMW X6, and BMW X7 on
  the same assembly line.</p>
<p>“We are excited to add the first-ever BMW XM to our plant’s
portfolio,” said Dr. Robert Engelhorn, president and CEO of BMW
Manufacturing. “The modern, future-oriented design and powerful
performance of the BMW XM has generated a lot of enthusiasm. As the
center of competence for X models, BMW Plant Spartanburg is prepared
to build this vehicle with the highest premium quality that our
  customers deserve.”</p>
<p>The BMW XM is the first ever high-performance car with an electrified
  drive system from BMW M. A plug-in hybrid system comprising a V8
gasoline engine and an exceptionally powerful electric motor endows
the BMW XM. The highlight of the brand’s model offensive in its
anniversary year, the BMW XM is also the first BMW M original since
  the BMW M1.</p>
<p>The BMW XM will arrive at dealers worldwide in spring 2023. Key sales
markets will be the United States, China, and the Middle East.</p>
<p>
  <strong>Remarkable Year at BMW Manufacturing</strong></p>
<p>The start of production for the BMW XM marks the end of a remarkable
year at BMW Plant Spartanburg. The year began with the U.S. Department
of Commerce confirming that BMW Manufacturing led the nation in
automotive exports by value for the eighth consecutive year. Plant
Spartanburg’s 257,876 exports in 2021 had a total export value of more
  than $10.1 billion.</p>
<p>In March, Dr. Engelhorn announced that the BMW Group would invest
more than $200 million to construct a 219,000-square-foot press shop
  on the plant site. Construction of the press shop is well underway;
production will start in the summer of 2024.</p>
<p>In April, BMW Manufacturing affirmed its continued commitment to
social responsibility with an announced donation of $1.25 million to
restore and preserve eight acres of urban wetlands at Unity Park near
downtown Greenville, SC. The donation also supports construction of a
series of low-impact boardwalks and overlooks through the wetlands area.</p>
<p>During September, associates celebrated an important milestone – the
30th anniversary of BMW’s groundbreaking for the South Carolina plant.
This celebration came during the same month as production of the six
millionth BMW built in the United States, a Java Green Metallic BMW X6 M.</p>
<p>BMW Manufacturing’s new state-of-the-art logistics center also opened
in September. The $100 million project included the construction of
two private bridges connecting the logistics center to the plant site.
The one million-square-foot logistics center consolidates two
warehouses and their material into one building, making processes
  faster, leaner, and more efficient.</p>
<p>One week later, Plant Spartanburg took a giant step forward in
workforce development with the opening of its new training center. The
$20 million, 68,000-square-foot training center features multiple
classrooms for both professional development and technical training,
an amphitheater, and a unique concept of outdoor meeting and workspace
  that includes wireless capabilities.</p>
<p>The year’s biggest announcement came on October 19, as the BMW Group
revealed its electromobility plan for the United States. BMW Group
Chairman of the Board of Management, Oliver Zipse, announced a $1.7
billion investment in its U.S. operation, including $1 billion to
prepare Plant Spartanburg for the production of electric vehicles.
Another $700 million will be invested to build a new high-voltage
battery assembly facility in Woodruff, SC. By 2030, the BMW Group will
build at least six fully electric models in the United States.</p>
<p>“Our theme at Plant Spartanburg is ‘Building Our Legacy, Driving Our
Future,’” said Dr. Engelhorn. “The year 2022 has continued our storied
legacy, and now, an exciting part of our future is beginning as we
start production of our BMW XM. Our commitment to South Carolina and
the United States is stronger than ever.”</p>
<p>Since 1992, the BMW Group has invested nearly $12 billion in its
South Carolina operations. BMW Manufacturing is the largest BMW Group
plant in the world, producing more than 1,500 vehicles each day and
433,810 vehicles in 2021, a record. The plant is an important part of
BMW’s global production network and plays a critical role in meeting
the high demand for BMW Sports Activity Vehicles in the U.S. and
around the world. Nearly 60 percent of its vehicles are shipped to
about 120 global markets, making BMW the largest automotive exporter
by value in the United States for eight consecutive years. The model
portfolio includes five top-selling BMW X models, five Motorsport X
models, and two plug-in hybrid electric vehicle X models. The factory
has an annual production capacity of up to 450,000 vehicles and
employs more than 11,000 people.  </p>
