<p>
  <strong>Woodcliff Lake, NJ</strong>: <a href="https://www.miniusa.com/">MINI USA</a> has officially opened
  the registration site for MINI TAKES THE STATES (MTTS) 2026. This year
  represents 20 years since the first MTTS in 2026. Held every other
  year, MINI owners looking to register can visit <a href="http://www.minitakesthestates.com">www.minitakesthestates.com</a>
  to secure their spot on the tenth running of what has become a
  legendary event for MINI owners to rally together.</p>
<p>This year’s MTTS will be a trio of long-weekend rallies stretching
  from the iconic PCH to the legendary Adirondacks to the scenic Florida
  Keys. The three state, nine-city adventure will cruise some of the
  country’s most unforgettable roads in the west, northeast, and the
  south, celebrating MINI’s spirited community that knows how to have
  fun and motor on in three city-to-city rally events. The three events include:</p>
<ul>
  <li>California (October 2–4), Monterey to Sonoma to Lake Tahoe</li>
  <li>New York (October 23–25), Buffalo to Syracuse to Lake Placid</li>
  <li>Florida (November 13–15), Fort Myers to Miami to Key West</li></ul>
<p>The registration fee is $150 per person for each long-weekend event.
  Single-day passes are also available for purchase at $50 per person.
  All registration fees include an</p>
<p>official event goody bag while supplies last.</p>
<p>
  <strong>A New Chapter for a Legendary Event </strong></p>
<p>The first MTTS launched in 2006 as a cross-country road rally to
  celebrate the debut of the very first MINI GP. Held every two years,
  it has since grown into one of the most celebrated recurring road
  trips in the United States, hosted and coordinated by an automotive
  OEM. In 2024, nearly 2,000 MINI owners joined at least a portion of
  the nine-day journey through the western U.S., with an average of 650
  MINIs setting off each morning to the sound of music, cheers, and the
  rev of engines.</p>
<p>The new 2026 format preserves that energy in full while opening the
  doors wider for more to participate. This year, each day closes with a
  community gathering where drivers reconnect, share stories from the
  road, compare routes, and celebrate the spontaneous discoveries that
  have always defined MTTS.</p>
<p>
  <strong>Three Weekends, Three States, Three Cities Each </strong></p>
<p>Each weekend will follow MINI's signature Rise & Rally format.
  Participants will gather every morning for a light breakfast, live
  music, activities, and a send-off before setting off on a curated
  scenic route. Evenings will feature food/beverage and headline events
  at iconic venues.</p>

    and long-distance comfort.</li></ul>
<p>
  <strong>Woodcliff Lake, NJ – April 17, 2024…</strong>At the end of
  series development, the new BMW X3 undergoes the final tuning of all
  chassis control and driver assistance systems at the BMW test center
  in Miramas, southern France. The fourth generation of the Sports
  Activity Vehicle (SAV) in the premium mid-range vehicle segment will
  debut in just a few weeks' time.</p>
<p>The development and test engineers ensure that the new BMW X3
  demonstrate superior handling in every situation with an intensive
  tuning program. The well-coordinated functionality of all automated
  driving and parking systems in the new BMW X3 also contributes to a
  harmonious customer experience.</p>
<p>The new BMW X3 has already undergone extensive testing on snow and
  ice, in extremely hot regions, and off-road on its way to series
  production. The SAV's suitability for everyday use and travelling was
  tested and refined in urban stopand-go traffic as well as on winding
  country roads, highways, and selected test tracks.</p>
<p>
  <strong>Perfectly coordinated systems for a distinctive BMW driving experience. </strong></p>
<p>The development engineers use the versatile test track in Miramas to
  put the finishing touches to the driving experience of the new BMW X3.
  In addition to an asphalt oval and a highway ring, there are also
  slalom, serpentine, and circular tracks as well as off-road courses
  and handling courses with different road surfaces. This allows the
  longitudinal and lateral acceleration, suspension and damping,
  steering precision, and braking behavior of the new BMW X3 to be
  analyzed and optimized down to the last detail.</p>
<p>The driving dynamics and efficiency of the new BMW X3 benefit from
  intelligent lightweight construction and optimized aerodynamic
  properties. With a drag coefficient (Cd) of 0.27, it sets
  new standards in its competitive environment.</p>
<p>Compared to the current model, the new BMW X3 also has a wider track
  and reduced lift at the rear axle. In addition, the rigidity of the
  body and the chassis connection has been increased. Targeted
  improvements to the kinematics and elastokinematics of both axles,
  combined with a 19 percent increase in the caster of the front wheels,
  ensure noticeably improved directional stability. A more direct
  steering ratio enhances steering comfort, while extensively modified
  anti-roll bars improved cornering dynamics without compromising ride comfort.</p>
<p>An adaptive suspension with electronically controlled shock absorbers
  will be available on certain new BMW X3 models. The final tuning is
  part of the driving dynamics test at Miramas, and the system will
  offer two programs that can be selected via My Modes. In addition, the
  new version of the X3 comes as standard with the latest version of BMW
  Lateral Dynamics Management, which uses input variables such as wheel
  speeds, steering angle, roll rate, and even road conditions to ensure
  precise control of the required steering functions, the actuator-based
  wheel slip limitation, and the regulation of the rear differential lock.</p>
<p>BMW’s development expertise ensures all of the components and systems
  of the drive and chassis technology are perfectly matched. The result
  is the characteristic combination of precision and versatility that
  defines the driving experience in a BMW SAV.</p>
<p>
  <strong>Automated driving is also optimized by BMW’s typical level of integration.</strong></p>
<p>The new BMW X3 features the latest BMW iDrive based on the BMW
  Operating System 9 including the BMW iDrive Controller and will offer
  an expanded selection of systems for automated driving and parking
  compared to the current model. The highly responsive braking and
  steering interventions of the assistance systems comparted to the
  competition are another example of the unique integration performance
  of BMW driving dynamics development. They enable harmonious
  interaction between driver and vehicle in every situation.</p>

  <strong>Woodcliff Lake, NJ – Nov 2, 2023…</strong> The first ever BMW
  XM Label—the company’s most powerful production vehicle to date with
  738-horsepower and 738 lb-ft of torque on tap—set a new record for
  hybrid electric SUVs at Pikes Peak in Colorado Springs on September
  21, 2023, during an officially certified course run.</p>
<p>Following a previous attempt for the race day record in June during
  the 101st running of the Broadmoor Pikes Peak International Hill
  Climb, BMW driver Matt Mullins returned to take on the course last
  month aboard the range-topping BMW XM Label with support from Rhys
  Millen Racing. Reaching the summit in 10:48:60, Mullins outpaced the
  previous race day record by nearly a second and a half.</p>
<p>To provide a behind-the-scenes look at what goes into preparing both
  man and machine for such an extreme challenge, BMW had a camera crew
  follow Mullins and team during each stage of the endeavor. The result
  is an emotional two-part short film that exposes the heartbreaking
  lows of a failed first fun, followed by the exhilarating highs of
  success atop the mountain. Both parts are available online at the
  @BMWUSA official YouTube channel.</p>
<p>“Congratulations to Matt Mullins and the entire team behind our
  inspiring journey to the top of one of the world’s most difficult and
  historic hill climbs in the unstoppable BMW XM Label,” said Marcus
  Casey, Chief Marketing Officer, BMW of North America. “Pikes Peak is
  the ultimate proving ground for elite performers, and we are thrilled
  to be named fastest hybrid SUV thanks to the world class pairing of an
  epic vehicle with an equally impressive driver.”</p>
<p>Boasting more than 150 turns at staggering elevations, the uniquely
  challenging Pikes Peak run starts at 9,390 feet above sea level and
  finishes at the 14,115-foot summit of America’s Mountain. Pikes Peak’s
  reputation for difficulty is matched only by its legendary status in
  the history of motorsport, which dates back more than a century. Since
  1916, competitors, race fans, and media from across the globe have
  converged on the ‘Race to the Clouds’ to experience the best in hill
  climb competition.</p>
<p>The BMW XM Label exemplifies boldness with its striking design and
  high-performance pedigree. Under the hood, the driver commands a
  738-horsepower hybrid electric drivetrain derived from BMW’s newest
  endurance racing car, the BMW M Hybrid V8. Channeling power through a
  turbocharged 8-cylinder internal combustion engine mated to an
  electric motor, the BMW XM Label delivers rapid acceleration with
  increased efficiency and minimized emissions. Equally luxurious as it
  is performance oriented, the cabin is fitted with the finest quality
  materials like diamond quilted BMW Individual Vintage Merino leather
  seats set beneath a three-dimensional sculptural prism headliner
  containing 100 separate LED lights.</p>
<p>Matt Mullins has been a professional driver for over two decades.
  Having competed in six major racing series in between time spent as a
  leading stunt driver in Hollywood films, Mullins serves as BMW’s Chief
  Driving Instructor at the BMW Performance Center in South Carolina. In
  addition to his day job, Mullins has a track record helping BMW make
  history. In 2018, he was part of the team that set a pair of Guinness
  Records when they completed the world’s longest drift at over 230
  miles and 8 hours behind the wheel of the F90 BMW M5, while managing
  to seamlessly refuel mid-drift in synchronized fashion with a custom
  built F10 BMW M5 fuel car.</p>

  <strong>BMW M and M4 GT4 Experience - $2,795</strong></p>
<p>
  <strong> </strong></p>
<p>A full-day program includes driving various BMW M cars and the M4 GT4
  race car. Students start with a classroom session that reviews proper
  driving technique. After an overview of the car, they are outfitted
  with a racing suit and helmet. Then it’s time to experience this
  amazing machine on one of the Thermal Club’s world class racetracks.
  Students run guided laps behind a BMW instructor to experience the M4
  GT4 at speeds up to 140 mph. This is the exact customer racecar
  offered by BMW Motorsport.</p>
<p>Based on the 2020 BMW M4 coupe, the M4 GT4 is built to compete in
  racing series around the world in the GT4 category. The 3.0 liter
  inline 6-cylinder TwinPower turbocharged engine can produce more than
  430 horsepower (depending on the Balance of Performance) and the rear
  wing, front splitter and Continental racing tires make this car stick
  like glue through the corners. In addition, the class includes:</p>
<ul>
  <li>VBOX data and video system in the M4 GT4 to record the session.</li>
  <li>Access to professional instructors, trackside crew and support.</li>
  <li>All driving gear for the duration of the class – racing suit,
    helmet, gloves and shoes.</li>
  <li>Lunch at the BMW Performance Center café.</li>

  <strong>Race License School: The Path to Professional - $2495</strong></p>
<p>For those who desire more training after the Advanced M School or
  Two-Day M School, the BMW Performance Center now offers a
  SCCA-certified school to take the first steps to becoming a pro

<p>What will be learned:</p>
<ul>
  <li>Learn the colors. Green. Yellow. Red - No there aren’t any traffic

    represents while you’re out there to maintain safety.</li>
  <li>Passing. Don’t let off. - Start off with you in a BMW, behind your
    instructor in theirs. They will coach you through the art of passing
    under both braking and acceleration. Then, we’ll bring on a
    classmate and coach you both as you battle for first place.</li>
  <li>Keep Rollin’. Practice race starts - In racing, how you start can
    impact how you finish, and we’ll show you how to get started right
    in a grid set up, as well as rolling starts. Learn how to navigate
    with other cars on track while setting up for that first turn.</li></ul>

  <strong>The M4 GT4 customer race car</strong></p>
<p>
  <strong> </strong></p>
<p>Introduced for the 2018 racing season, the BMW M4 GT4 is a proven
  winner. This past season alone, it won three GS Class IMSA Michelin
  Pilot Challenge races, nine SRO Pirelli GT4 SprintX races across the
  Pro-Am and Silver classes and the SRO Intercontinental GT Indianapolis
  8 Hour, GT4 Class.</p>
<p>The BMW M4 GT4 is powered by the same 3.0-liter S55 inline 6-cylinder
  engine that is found in the BMW M4 streetcar and that delivers more
  than 430 hp, depending on class regulations and on the power stick
  used. A 7-speed dual clutch transmission with motorsport software
  transfers power to the 18-inch wheels via a mechanical limited-slip
  differential with cooling. The chassis is reinforced with a
  DMSB-certified BMW M Motorsport welded safety roll cage (compliant
  with FIA regulations). The roof, hood, doors, front splitter and rear
  wing are all made from CFRP. Three-stage adjustable motorsport
  anti-roll bars and specially-valved motorsport Ohlins shock absorbers
  are complemented by optional springs in three different rates for
  front and rear. Six-piston fixed front and four-piston fixed rear AP
  brakes are controlled by a cockpit adjustable AP racing pedal box and
  manually adjustable brake bias.</p>
<p>The BMW M4 GT4 customer race car is available for $210,000 plus $995 Destination.</p>

  American 2021 season competition.</p>
<p>The BMW M2 CS Racing offers the best setup for successful entry into
  motorsport. The new customer racing car is powered by a BMW M
  TwinPower turbocharged S55 3.0-liter six-cylinder in-line engine
  delivering between 280 hp and 365 hp, depending on the Balance of
  Performance. The maximum torque of 406 lb.-ft. is transmitted by a
  7-speed dual-clutch transmission, upgraded with special motorsport
  software. Another highlight of the BMW M2 CS Racing is its engine
  management. As with the BMW M4 GT4, power/torque can be adjusted via
  power sticks which enable various performance levels to be programmed.
  Another variant of the BMW M2 CS Racing delivering 450 hp is also
  available for North American club racing.</p>

Automotive enthusiasts will have the <br>opportunity to test - and improve their driving skills when BMW rolls out its <br>national Ultimate Driving Experience clinics in a coast-to-coast campaign. The <br>X3 Ultimate Driving Experience (UDE), which features the versatility of a <br>Sports Activity Vehicle (SAV), is a comprehensive driving program which allows <br>drivers to experience the performance and handling of a vehicle while teaching <br>participants of all levels to become safer, more confident drivers. BMW <br>believes that hands-on training is the best way for consumers to experience <br>BMW's handling, performance and precision.</p><p>The X3 UDE includes an Autocross program for the drivers who want to enhance <br>their driving skills. This program is designed to increase a driver's <br>knowledge and appreciation of the vehicle's mechanics such as xDrive, BMW's new <br>all-wheel drive system. Participants are also invited to test-drive a fleet of <br>new BMWs as part of the Ultimate Drive For The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer <br>Foundation. For each mile driven as part of the Ultimate Drive program, BMW <br>contributes $1 to help find a cure for breast cancer.</p><p>"We are excited to offer this unique program across America and provide <br>hands-on driving and instruction in a fun, safe and controlled environment," <br>said Jim McDowell, Vice President Marketing, BMW of North America, LLC. "Time <br>spent behind the wheel is the best place for any driver to learn about the <br>vehicle. This program teaches the necessary skills that insure proper <br>decision-making behind the wheel. "</p><p>A key component to X3 UDE is the student-driving program. Unlike most <br>programs, which are classroom-based, the BMW Student Driver Program is fully <br>interactive. The program uses professional drivers and an aggressive track to <br>target teen drivers, the age group with the highest crash risk year after <br>year. It will be offered by BMW across the country through November 2004.<br>Participants increase their driving knowledge through "seat-time," where they <br>encounter emergency scenarios that simulate real-life situations, thus <br>providing hands-on training they wouldn't otherwise have access to. BMW is <br>using new X3's for the clinics because of the vehicle's proven agility and <br>performance. </p><p>The half-day, free BMW course for student drivers includes instruction on: </p><p>* Target Fixation - Our professional staff trains participants to look at where <br>they want to go rather than at the object they are trying to avoid (which is <br>very common). They offer strategies for getting around the object.</p><p>* Car Control - Drivers will learn the mechanics behind what causes people to <br>lose control of a vehicle and how to regain control.</p><p>* Situational Awareness - This component trains teens to be aware of what's <br>going on around them at all times. Heavy emphasis is placed on the importance <br>of peripheral vision and scanning the road ahead- looking beyond the car <br>directly in front of you to avoid the danger of tunnel vision. Participants <br>are trained to concentrate and process information that will enable them to <br>avoid dangerous situations.</p><p>* Slalom - Maneuvering the car through a series of tight corners and roads, <br>drivers will learn the importance of smoothness and flow in the process of <br>managing the load transfer of the vehicle.</p><p>The X3 vehicles have the all-new xDrive technology, which sets new standards in <br>agility for all-wheel-drive vehicles. The system immediately recognizes any <br>need for a change of power distribution and responds immediately when driving <br>on the open road. </p><p>The Ultimate Driving Experience is a comprehensive driving course that teaches <br>drivers of all levels to feel more confident, comfortable and in-control on the <br>roads. The X3 UDE program will travel cross-country through 16 cities from <br>January to November 2004. January 31, 2003... In the BMW tradition of open-air driving <br>pleasure comes the spring debut of a sophisticated, new driving experience: The <br>Z4 Drive. The first BMW Performance Center driving course to feature roadsters <br>exclusively, the Z4 Drive curriculum offers a variety of driving experiences <br>behind the wheel of this sleek, new class of sports car. </p><p>"This program showcases the athleticism and agility of the new Z4 roadster," <br>says Tom Strahs, driving school manager at the BMW Performance Center. <br>"Participants will learn car control techniques such as braking, cornering and <br>accelerating on our challenging course, followed by a top-down drive on the <br>twisty Carolina back roads." </p><p>The Z4 Drive is open to all licensed drivers, not just Z4 owners. The Z4 Drive <br>begins in spring 2003 - May 7-9, June 26-28, July 30-August 1, and September <br>21-23. The cost is $2,385 for two drivers sharing a Z4 supplied by the <br>Performance Center, and includes several meals and accommodations for two <br>nights. Solo drivers deduct $100. To enroll, call the BMW Performance Center <br>at 888-345-4BMW (4269). </p><p>The Z4 Drive begins with a half-day driving program on the BMW Performance <br>Center's paved course, including a driving exercise in which water walls appear <br>without warning for drivers to maneuver around, creating lessons in accident <br>avoidance skills. Participants then take on the winding curves of Southern back <br>roads that afternoon en route to an historic bed and breakfast, followed by <br>dinner hosted by a BMW driving instructor. </p><p>After dinner, participants will compete in a timed event that requires drivers <br>to maneuver their Z4 into a very tight area, developing skills on how to <br>quickly change direction in a short space while competing against others for <br>the lowest times. The next day, participants will drive back on winding roads <br>to the BMW Performance Center for lunch and an afternoon of more challenging <br>driving exercises. </p><p><br>BMW Group In America</p><p>BMW of North America has been present in the United States since 1975. Designed to help X5 drivers get the most out of BMW's new Sports <br>Activity Vehicle, the class offers essential lessons in handling and safety for <br>drivers of all sports utility vehicles. </p><p> "Getting behind the wheel has a whole new meaning at the X5 driving school," <br>said Tom Strahs, Driving School Manager at the BMW Performance Center. "Using <br>our specially-built 'Other Roads' course, students will experience a winding <br>1.4 mile route with gravel, water and dirt trails that simulate a variety of <br>road conditions. These exercises, combined with lessons on a paved course, will <br>provide participants with a thorough understanding of vehicle dynamics." </p><p>In a novel approach for demonstrating transfer of weight of the Sports Activity <br>Vehicle, BMW developed the teeter-totter, on which participants learn to <br>balance the X5 and drive safely on uneven surfaces. While driving on and off <br>the teeter-totter, participants also learn to maintain precise vehicle control <br>at slow speeds. </p><p>"Key to this course is knowing the center of gravity and how it impacts driving <br>in a vehicle with advanced handling," explained Strahs. "Participants are able <br>to learn and practice using the X5's many advanced features such as Dynamic <br>Stability Control, Dynamic Brake Control, and All Wheel Drive." </p><p>Other lessons include: handling rock angles up to 45 degrees, and learning safe <br>river-crossing techniques and Hill Ascent Control and Hill Descent Control on <br>uneven surfaces using BMW traction systems. The "Other Roads" course also <br>includes cornering at ground speeds at gravel surfaces and ground clearance <br>limits.<br>Paved road lessons for the X5 school feature vehicle control at varying speeds, <br>accident avoidance maneuvers and an autocross lesson that demonstrates weight <br>transfer and balance. The road course can be configured 35 different ways and <br>uses special features not found in most driver training programs. For example, <br>students learn how to control a vehicle on an ultra-smooth concrete skidpad, <br>which produces a slippery surface that simulates black ice. Accident avoidance <br>maneuvers are taught on a water wall corridor - one of only a few in the world <br>- where they are "surprised" when obstacles "appear" in front of their moving <br>vehicles. An emergency braking zone gives students the opportunity to learn <br>the relationship between speed and stopping distance and how to brake with an <br>ABS-equipped vehicle on both wet and dry surfaces. </p><p>The X5 school is $495 per person, with multiple dates scheduled for 2002.
